[0:00] Speaker 1: Nicole is on the phone today for a first date follow-up,
[0:03] Speaker 1: and she's getting ghosted by a guy named Adam. So
[0:05] Speaker 1: we're about to call him and see if he'll tell
[0:07] Speaker 1: us why he's ghosting her and maybe get her a
[0:09] Speaker 1: second date.
[0:10] Speaker 2: But first, Nicole, why do you think you're getting ghosted?
[0:12] Speaker 3: Probably because I sneezed my margarita all over his face.
[0:17] Speaker 3: Not once, not twice, but three times.
[0:21] Speaker 2: Oh, girl. You sneezed your margarita on his face three times?
[0:24] Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean.
[0:27] Speaker 5: The tape was going great until it wasn't.
[0:32] Speaker 2: Like in a row?
[0:35] Speaker 5: Yeah, well, yeah.
[0:37] Speaker 2: Well, okay. Yeah, go ahead and explain. How did that happen?
[0:42] Speaker 3: Well, he's... Adam's super cute, and we had so much
[0:48] Speaker 3: in common, and went to this cute little Mexican restaurant,
[0:52] Speaker 3: and my allergies were bothering me.
[0:55] Speaker 5: They've been just.
[0:55] Speaker 3: Really bad lately, and I didn't realize.
[0:58] Speaker 5: It, but when I took a sip of my margarita,
[1:01] Speaker 5: I had to sneeze. And there's no time to swallow
[1:06] Speaker 5: or do anything.
[1:07] Speaker 3: So....
[1:11] Speaker 5: I basically crop dusted his entire face with my margarine.
[1:17] Speaker 5: What did he do?
[1:19] Speaker 2: I might do it.
[1:21] Speaker 5: We just kind of laughed about it. You know, I
[1:23] Speaker 5: started panicking and I wiped his face of my sleeve.
[1:28] Speaker 4: Okay.
[1:29] Speaker 2: That was resourceful.
[1:35] Speaker 5: And you know we laughed and i apologized but then
[1:38] Speaker 5: it happened again and he didn't laugh as much as.
[1:40] Speaker 1: The first time oh yeah yeah i could see one
[1:45] Speaker 1: time being like funny and the second time you're like
[1:47] Speaker 1: okay are you doing.
[1:48] Speaker 3: This on purpose then then it happened again and no.
[1:52] Speaker 1: Laugh no laugh on the third time you sneezed your
[1:55] Speaker 1: drink in his.
[1:55] Speaker 2: Face No laugh.
[1:58] Speaker 3: And I'm pretty sure he thought I was doing it
[2:00] Speaker 3: on purpose.
[2:01] Speaker 5: And, you know, I apologize. I tried to joke, but
[2:04] Speaker 5: you know how bad my allergies are. And I had
[2:07] Speaker 5: to sneeze a few more times, so I was hoping
[2:09] Speaker 5: he'd give me a pass.
[2:10] Speaker 2: Hey, girl, my allergies are terrible, too.
[2:12] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[2:13] Speaker 2: I feel like you learn after the first time. Like
[2:15] Speaker 2: turn your head or something and take a drink?
[2:17] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[2:17] Speaker 2: Okay, so you think that's why he's ghosting you? It
[2:20] Speaker 2: could be.
[2:21] Speaker 5: I think so.
[2:22] Speaker 4: I mean.
[2:23] Speaker 5: At the end of the day, we kissed and he
[2:24] Speaker 5: made this joke like he already spit all over my
[2:27] Speaker 5: face a bunch of times.
[2:28] Speaker 2: So we might as well kiss to see how it goes.
[2:31] Speaker 4: Okay.
[2:31] Speaker 2: That's a good sign, though.
[2:33] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[2:34] Speaker 5: It was so embarrassing.
[2:36] Speaker 3: I like him a lot, but now he's not calling
[2:39] Speaker 3: me back and I want to know why.
[2:41] Speaker 5: You know, if he didn't like me, he wouldn't kiss me.
[2:44] Speaker 2: Yeah, you wouldn't think so.
[2:45] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[2:46] Speaker 2: Nicole, why don't you refresh our memory on why you
[2:48] Speaker 2: think you're getting ghosted again?
[2:50] Speaker 3: Well, I guess I thought it was because I sneezed.
[2:53] Speaker 5: In his face a bunch of times.
[2:56] Speaker 2: Not just regular sneezes. You drink in his face.
[2:58] Speaker 5: Yeah, the margarita. You know, I mean, we kissed afterwards,
[3:05] Speaker 5: so I didn't think, you know, I thought he kind
[3:08] Speaker 5: of forgave me. So I don't know why he's not
[3:09] Speaker 5: calling me now.
[3:11] Speaker 2: Okay, well, here we go.
[3:12] Speaker 1: I'm going to dial his phone number right now, and
[3:13] Speaker 1: we'll see if he'll tell us why he's ghosting you.
[3:20] Speaker 2: Hello. Hi, is this Adam? This is Adam, yeah. Hey, Adam,
[3:26] Speaker 2: how are you? This is a radio show. It's called
[3:28] Speaker 2: The Jubal Show. What's up, Adam? I'm Nina. Hi, I'm Victoria. Hey,
[3:31] Speaker 2: my name is Jubal. How's it going?
[3:32] Speaker 4: Oh, well, good.
[3:35] Speaker 3: How are y'all? Good.
[3:36] Speaker 2: Thank you. You ever hear the show before?
[3:39] Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, sure have.
[3:42] Speaker 3: Okay. Awesome.
[3:43] Speaker 4: What's Why are you calling me?
[3:46] Speaker 1: We're calling you today because this is a first date
[3:48] Speaker 1: follow up, which I'm guessing you already know what that is.
[3:50] Speaker 1: But that's where if you go out on a date
[3:52] Speaker 1: with somebody and then you end up ghosting them, that
[3:54] Speaker 1: person can email us to get you on the phone.
[3:56] Speaker 2: And find out why you're ghosting them. So we got
[4:00] Speaker 2: an email about you, Adam.
[4:03] Speaker 4: Yeah, well, that being the case, I guess I'm not
[4:06] Speaker 4: surprised to hear from you. Really?
[4:09] Speaker 2: It's from Nicole. Nicole.
[4:13] Speaker 1: She told us that you guys went on a date,
[4:14] Speaker 1: but now you're not talking to her. Would you mind
[4:16] Speaker 1: telling us why?
[4:17] Speaker 4: Well, I draw the line when it comes to dating thieves.
[4:22] Speaker 5: Thieves?
[4:23] Speaker 3: Yikes.
[4:23] Speaker 5: What?
[4:24] Speaker 2: She's a thief?
[4:26] Speaker 4: Well, listen, at first she seemed really cool. You know,
[4:30] Speaker 4: she was cute. She was pretty. You know, we had
[4:33] Speaker 4: a good time right at first, but it got kind
[4:35] Speaker 4: of gross because her allergies were really bad. And she
[4:39] Speaker 4: sneezed a drink in my face three times.
[4:42] Speaker 2: Yeah, she told us about that.
[4:45] Speaker 4: Oh, you know, projectile sneezing, you know, and I thought
[4:48] Speaker 4: it was a little annoying. I kind of laughed it
[4:50] Speaker 4: off at first. But after the second time, maybe cover
[4:54] Speaker 4: your mouth before you spew a margarita in my face.
[4:57] Speaker 4: But that wasn't really the thing to turn me off.
[5:00] Speaker 3: OK.
[5:01] Speaker 4: She wanted a dessert and then tried to be cute
[5:04] Speaker 4: and was like, watch this. And she told the waiter
[5:06] Speaker 4: it was my birthday. Also, she could get a free
[5:09] Speaker 4: piece of cake. And they came to the table and
[5:12] Speaker 4: sang happy birthday, you know, not too awkward at all.
[5:15] Speaker 4: And he thought it was funny. But in my opinion,
[5:19] Speaker 4: it's not. It's theft. And I won't stand for that.
[5:22] Speaker 4: You know, it was not my birthday. I had to
[5:24] Speaker 4: sit there smiling while complete strangers celebrated a fake birthday.
[5:29] Speaker 4: You know, a lie at that. And in my opinion,
[5:32] Speaker 4: not only is she a thief and a liar, she
[5:34] Speaker 4: also made me be one, too, because I didn't want
[5:37] Speaker 4: to stop him and go, hey, you know, this isn't
[5:39] Speaker 4: my birthday. It's just really awkward. And it's a huge
[5:42] Speaker 4: red flag. And I just can't feel like I trust her.
[5:46] Speaker 2: You sound very passionate about that.
[5:49] Speaker 4: Yeah. Well, you know, it just kind of takes some
[5:53] Speaker 4: red flags.
[5:54] Speaker 2: Okay. Well, thanks for being honest with us. I appreciate that.
[5:58] Speaker 1: And to let you know, Adam, Nicole is on the
[6:02] Speaker 1: phone listening and wants to talk to you.
[6:07] Speaker 5: Adam, are you seriously calling me a thief because I
[6:11] Speaker 5: got a free piece of birthday cake?
[6:14] Speaker 4: Well, yeah, the way you got it, you know, it
[6:17] Speaker 4: just wasn't.
[6:17] Speaker 5: It was your birthday and nobody got hurt.
[6:20] Speaker 3: And I thought it would be funny.
[6:22] Speaker 5: People do it at restaurants all the time.
[6:24] Speaker 2: They do.
[6:26] Speaker 4: Well, yeah. It was usually actually their birthday.
[6:33] Speaker 2: So you're really not cool with her faking the birthday
[6:36] Speaker 2: to get a cake.
[6:37] Speaker 5: We didn't walk out with the cash register.
[6:39] Speaker 3: And you're acting like the restaurant is.
[6:41] Speaker 5: Reviewing security footage right now to identify the birthday cake bandit.
[6:47] Speaker 1: And you know what, Adam?
[6:48] Speaker 5: You ate the cake.
[6:50] Speaker 3: That's the part you're leaving out. You didn't refuse the
[6:53] Speaker 3: sole merchandise. If I'm a thief, then you're my accomplice.
[6:59] Speaker 2: Did you eat the cake, Adam?
[7:02] Speaker 4: Yeah, I ate the cake because to not have at
[7:04] Speaker 4: that point would have been just tremendously awkward. And, you know,
[7:09] Speaker 4: what else am I supposed to do for crying out loud?
[7:11] Speaker 4: You know, so you could have.
[7:15] Speaker 5: Said, actually, it's not my birthday. Did you know you
[7:20] Speaker 5: just sat there and smiling while everyone's saying to you?
[7:24] Speaker 4: What else was I supposed to do? I was embarrassed.
[7:27] Speaker 4: You know, it just it just was awkward. And it
[7:31] Speaker 4: took me aback because I wasn't expecting it. Basically, dishonesty. Sorry.
[7:38] Speaker 2: You're serious about this, Adam. You really feel like it's a.
[7:41] Speaker 4: Yeah. And I hate to be, but come on, man.
[7:44] Speaker 4: You know, there are lines that just.
[7:47] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[7:48] Speaker 4: That aren't crossed.
[7:50] Speaker 5: You know, when they put the birthday cake down, you
[7:52] Speaker 5: didn't say, I can't accept this. It was obtained under
[7:56] Speaker 5: false pretenses. You know what he did?
[7:58] Speaker 2: What did he do?
[7:59] Speaker 5: He picked up a fork.
[8:00] Speaker 2: He just went right for it.
[8:05] Speaker 4: One more time for the people in the back. I
[8:08] Speaker 4: didn't want it to get even more awkward than it was,
[8:11] Speaker 4: so I felt like I had to go along with
[8:13] Speaker 4: it just to help save space for everybody. Not just
[8:17] Speaker 4: for Nicole, not just for me. No. For the staff
[8:22] Speaker 4: and everybody else, too.
[8:25] Speaker 5: This is like a definition of a red flag. Dating
[8:28] Speaker 5: you just must be exhausting. What happens if I take
[8:31] Speaker 5: some ketchup? Are you going to call the police on me?
[8:33] Speaker 4: No. He probably would.
[8:38] Speaker 2: Adam, would you like another date with Nicole? We will
[8:40] Speaker 2: pay for it.
[8:43] Speaker 4: No, thanks. I appreciate the thought, but I don't want
[8:46] Speaker 4: to have to keep my hand on my wallet the
[8:48] Speaker 4: whole time in case I get pickpocketed.
[8:50] Speaker 2: Okay. Wow. Sorry, Nicole. No second date.
[8:56] Speaker 5: I am so happy. So happy now that I sneezed
[9:00] Speaker 5: my margarita in your face. You, sir, are the dumbest
[9:03] Speaker 5: of all.
[9:07] Speaker 4: Okay.
