[0:00] Speaker 1: Skye is on the phone today for To Catch a Cheater,
[0:02] Speaker 1: and she thinks that her boyfriend of a year named
[0:04] Speaker 1: Paul might be messing around, so we'll see if we
[0:06] Speaker 1: can help her out. Skye, sorry you have to come
[0:08] Speaker 1: on the show this way, but what's going on? Why
[0:09] Speaker 1: do you think Paul might be cheating?
[0:11] Speaker 2: He's been really distracted with work.
[0:13] Speaker 3: Normally, we see each other three or four times a week,
[0:16] Speaker 3: but the last couple of weeks, it's only been once
[0:18] Speaker 3: a week or sometimes not even at all. Then the
[0:23] Speaker 3: other day, I was over at his house and I
[0:26] Speaker 3: was feeling in a mood and everything. I was trying
[0:29] Speaker 3: to get some things going, but he said he he
[0:35] Speaker 3: wasn't in the mood. And like, that's kind of weird
[0:37] Speaker 3: for him. And I don't think that's ever really happened.
[0:41] Speaker 3: But the biggest thing that I've noticed is that he's
[0:43] Speaker 3: been texting with his ex.
[0:45] Speaker 4: Oh, why?
[0:46] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[0:47] Speaker 3: Well, so they, like I said, like he was in
[0:51] Speaker 3: a relationship for, with her for about five years.
[0:53] Speaker 2: It was a really nasty breakup.
[0:57] Speaker 3: And then he, Like in the last couple of weeks,
[1:00] Speaker 3: I've noticed her name, her name's Candace, and I've noticed
[1:02] Speaker 3: her name pop up on his phone.
[1:04] Speaker 2: Like texts and stuff like that.
[1:06] Speaker 4: Oh. Yeah.
[1:07] Speaker 3: And like, you know, I don't think it's like, I
[1:09] Speaker 3: don't know, uncommon for people to text their exes, but
[1:11] Speaker 3: it's like been a lot.
[1:12] Speaker 2: And I also know they didn't end on good terms.
[1:14] Speaker 2: So I don't know why they would be like communicating.
[1:16] Speaker 1: Have they talked before? Like, has he texted with her
[1:19] Speaker 1: before or is this?
[1:20] Speaker 3: Not that i i mean no not that i know
[1:23] Speaker 3: of really so again it's like kind of weird it
[1:25] Speaker 3: is kind of weird is.
[1:26] Speaker 5: There any reason why she would need to talk to
[1:28] Speaker 5: him like obviously if it's been that.
[1:30] Speaker 3: Long there might i mean there might be i can't
[1:33] Speaker 3: you know sure they were together for a long time
[1:35] Speaker 3: so i'm sure there's like stuff that would come up
[1:38] Speaker 3: here and there but not like consistently talking like it's
[1:42] Speaker 3: been like i've noticed it.
[1:43] Speaker 6: A lot so did you ask him about it No.
[1:47] Speaker 2: Because I'm nervous about what he's going to say. And
[1:50] Speaker 2: I also don't want him to like, I don't want
[1:51] Speaker 2: to give him the chance to lie to me.
[1:53] Speaker 1: Right.
[1:54] Speaker 5: Like, even if he has pure intentions, I think if
[1:57] Speaker 5: it's somebody that you had deep feelings for, you were
[2:00] Speaker 5: together for five years and you're talking to them all of.
[2:01] Speaker 6: A sudden all the time.
[2:03] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[2:04] Speaker 5: I feel like it would be a little bit confusing
[2:06] Speaker 5: for him. Even if he hasn't done anything, there's definitely
[2:09] Speaker 5: some type of.
[2:10] Speaker 1: Especially when the behavior has changed. Right.
[2:12] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[2:13] Speaker 5: I'm saying that to say that I understand why you're
[2:15] Speaker 5: feeling some kind of way. But do you think he's
[2:18] Speaker 5: really cheating or just talking to her?
[2:19] Speaker 6: Like, is he?
[2:20] Speaker 1: There aren't technically both. Would you consider both cheating?
[2:23] Speaker 5: I mean, yeah, but then that's going to come down
[2:26] Speaker 5: to a whole different technicality. So I'm talking about like
[2:28] Speaker 5: being physical with each other.
[2:29] Speaker 6: Do you think he's seeing her?
[2:32] Speaker 2: Maybe. Yeah, I think so. If they're texting all the time.
[2:35] Speaker 3: And like the fact that he's been so distant and
[2:37] Speaker 3: things have been so like off, in my opinion, is
[2:41] Speaker 3: like a huge red flag to me.
[2:42] Speaker 1: Skye is on the phone and she's been with her
[2:44] Speaker 1: boyfriend Paul for a year now. And now she thinks
[2:47] Speaker 1: that something might be going on. So we're about to
[2:49] Speaker 1: call him from the grocery store that he's a rewards
[2:51] Speaker 1: card member at. And say that he's this month's lucky
[2:54] Speaker 1: winner of free flowers delivered from our floral department. And
[2:56] Speaker 1: we'll see if he sends those to his girlfriend, Skye,
[2:58] Speaker 1: or to somebody else. But before we do that, Skye,
[3:00] Speaker 1: why don't you remind us why you think he might
[3:02] Speaker 1: be cheating?
[3:02] Speaker 3: So in the past few weeks, he's been a little
[3:05] Speaker 3: bit distant. And I've also noticed he's been texting with
[3:08] Speaker 3: his ex, Candace. I just noticed her name pop up
[3:12] Speaker 3: on his phone. So that's pretty weird. And I'm a
[3:15] Speaker 3: little concerned that something else is going on.
[3:18] Speaker 1: Yeah. To your knowledge, he doesn't like talk to his
[3:21] Speaker 1: ex anymore, right?
[3:22] Speaker 2: No, not to my knowledge.
[3:24] Speaker 1: Okay.
[3:24] Speaker 6: I was just starting.
[3:26] Speaker 1: Yeah. Are you ready for us to call him?
[3:27] Speaker 2: I guess.
[3:28] Speaker 1: All right, here we go.
[3:29] Speaker 3: Hello?
[3:33] Speaker 1: Hey, this is Jordan calling from I was looking for
[3:35] Speaker 1: a rewards card member named Paul.
[3:38] Speaker 4: Speaking.
[3:39] Speaker 1: Paul, hey, please don't hang up. This is not a
[3:40] Speaker 1: marketing phone call. I'm actually calling to say congratulations. Thank
[3:43] Speaker 1: you for shopping with us. You're this month's big winner. Okay.
[3:47] Speaker 4: What I win or something.
[3:48] Speaker 1: The flowers.
[3:50] Speaker 4: And I get flowers?
[3:52] Speaker 6: Yes.
[3:53] Speaker 1: Every single month, we choose one random awards card member
[3:55] Speaker 1: who gets free flowers delivered from our new and improved
[3:57] Speaker 1: floral department. So you've won 36 long-stemmed red roses, a
[4:00] Speaker 1: box of candy or chocolates, and a card to be
[4:02] Speaker 1: delivered to anybody that you want within the 50 United
[4:03] Speaker 1: States of America.
[4:04] Speaker 4: Do I have to hand over my stuff, like credit
[4:07] Speaker 4: card and all that?
[4:08] Speaker 1: No purchase necessary. No info necessary. It's just our way
[4:12] Speaker 1: of saying thank you very much for shopping with us
[4:14] Speaker 1: and being on our rewards program. Okay.
[4:17] Speaker 4: Great.
[4:17] Speaker 6: Okay.
[4:18] Speaker 1: Well, here's how it works. I can take the information
[4:21] Speaker 1: in just a matter of minutes over the phone. If
[4:24] Speaker 1: you know who you want to send them to right now,
[4:25] Speaker 1: I'm prepared to do that.
[4:27] Speaker 4: Is there any way you could make the roses like
[4:29] Speaker 4: white instead of, are they red or white? Does it matter?
[4:33] Speaker 1: I don't know, but I can find out that answer
[4:35] Speaker 1: for you before we, we hang up.
[4:38] Speaker 2: Okay.
[4:38] Speaker 4: All right.
[4:39] Speaker 6: Fine.
[4:40] Speaker 1: All I would need from you to get these ordered
[4:42] Speaker 1: and shipped out would be a The first and last
[4:45] Speaker 1: name of the person you'd like to send them to,
[4:47] Speaker 1: whatever you'd like to put on a card, and then
[4:49] Speaker 1: we'll get the address.
[4:50] Speaker 4: Okay. Send them to Candace.
[4:56] Speaker 1: All right. And do you want to put anything on
[4:58] Speaker 1: a card to Candace?
[5:01] Speaker 4: Yeah, just write, like, something to the effect of, keep
[5:07] Speaker 4: your head up, only another week, and it's all over,
[5:11] Speaker 4: I promise.
[5:12] Speaker 1: Keep your head up.
[5:13] Speaker 4: Oh, my God.
[5:14] Speaker 2: I knew it. I knew it.
[5:16] Speaker 3: You're going to break up with me this week.
[5:19] Speaker 1: Paul, that's your girlfriend's guy. This is actually the Jubal show.
[5:22] Speaker 1: It's a radio show. We do a segment called To
[5:24] Speaker 1: Catch a Cheater, where if you think your significant other
[5:25] Speaker 1: is cheating, you see what they send flowers to.
[5:27] Speaker 4: Yeah, I can't believe.
[5:29] Speaker 2: You're cheating with Candace. This is insane, Paul.
[5:32] Speaker 6: Guy.
[5:33] Speaker 1: I knew it.
[5:34] Speaker 2: I knew it. What do you even have to say to.
[5:36] Speaker 6: Me right now?
[5:37] Speaker 2: I really what?
[5:38] Speaker 1: Yeah, it sounds to me like you're caught.
[5:41] Speaker 2: Yeah, come on, explain yourself. I don't know. Your f * * *
[5:43] Speaker 2: ing ex-girlfriend? I mean, after five years?
[5:48] Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, no, no, no. Can I just talk for
[5:52] Speaker 4: a second here and just tell you it's not at
[5:55] Speaker 4: all what this looks like?
[5:57] Speaker 2: Oh, it isn't? It isn't?
[5:58] Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, by all means, explain yourself. I don't know
[6:01] Speaker 3: how you're going to get yourself out of this, but
[6:02] Speaker 3: go for it.
[6:04] Speaker 4: I'll tell you if you just give me a second, okay?
[6:06] Speaker 5: I know.
[6:06] Speaker 4: Okay, I've given you... I know this is... I understand
[6:10] Speaker 4: how this looks, and this is the thing they do
[6:13] Speaker 4: over at the radio, but I can prove totally that
[6:17] Speaker 4: this is not what it looks like, okay? I promise
[6:20] Speaker 4: you it's a big miscommunication, all right?
[6:22] Speaker 2: Oh, a miscommunication? You've barely wanted to see me the
[6:25] Speaker 2: last few weeks.
[6:26] Speaker 4: Guys, this is a big miscommunication, and I'm going to
[6:30] Speaker 4: explain it to you.
[6:31] Speaker 2: Yeah?
[6:32] Speaker 3: Okay, explain it. I mean, you've barely wanted to see
[6:34] Speaker 3: me the last few weeks. You haven't wanted to get intimate.
[6:37] Speaker 2: I was going to say that to you, but I
[6:38] Speaker 2: knew you'd lie.
[6:39] Speaker 4: To me about it. I should have addressed all that.
[6:42] Speaker 4: It's been very crazy at work, as you know, and
[6:44] Speaker 4: this is why it's been crazy at work.
[6:46] Speaker 2: Yeah, I've seen Candace texting you. I've seen her name
[6:48] Speaker 2: pop up on your phone.
[6:50] Speaker 4: Exactly. So Candace now works at my job. She's a
[6:54] Speaker 4: new hire there, and I should have told you.
[6:55] Speaker 2: What? Your ex now works at your job?
[6:59] Speaker 4: Are you crazy?
[7:00] Speaker 1: Yeah. No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
[7:03] Speaker 4: It's not that Candace. It's a different Candace.
[7:05] Speaker 5: Listen, why would you feel like you needed to tell
[7:07] Speaker 5: her that in the beginning? I'm kind of confused. You
[7:09] Speaker 5: were acting like this was somebody that she already knew.
[7:11] Speaker 4: Well, I don't know. For one second, I was on
[7:13] Speaker 4: the radio ordering roses and then I'm getting bombarded by
[7:17] Speaker 4: and now I'm on. I'm like, yeah, I'm kind of back.
[7:20] Speaker 2: You literally sent Candace flowers. It's all going to be
[7:24] Speaker 2: over next week.
[7:25] Speaker 4: Well, I said the last name was on there. And
[7:28] Speaker 4: so it's a different last name. Please. tell you what happened,
[7:32] Speaker 4: and then you can decide whether you want to believe
[7:35] Speaker 4: it or not.
[7:35] Speaker 1: Sure.
[7:35] Speaker 2: I've been waiting here for five minutes, waiting for you
[7:37] Speaker 2: to explain.
[7:38] Speaker 4: All right.
[7:39] Speaker 3: Okay.
[7:39] Speaker 4: So Candace. Candace is a new employee, not ex-girlfriend Candace.
[7:44] Speaker 4: She's a new employee, and I've been tasked with training her.
[7:48] Speaker 4: And I sent her the flowers because I feel bad
[7:50] Speaker 4: because she messed up on a sale the other day,
[7:52] Speaker 4: and I kind of snapped at her. I mean, I
[7:54] Speaker 4: bit her head off. So I thought it would be
[7:57] Speaker 4: a nice gesture to It was stupid, and I should
[8:00] Speaker 4: have just sent them to you. But, like, this is
[8:03] Speaker 4: a complete platonic work thing, and it was free. So
[8:07] Speaker 4: I was like, well.
[8:10] Speaker 6: So really it has no value.
[8:12] Speaker 2: Okay, but what's going to be over in a week?
[8:14] Speaker 2: Why did you have to include that?
[8:16] Speaker 4: Her training period. It's a one-week training period. And she's
[8:20] Speaker 4: getting put through the ringer, and then I'm like, that'll
[8:22] Speaker 4: be over. It'll be behind. So her stress levels will
[8:25] Speaker 4: drop severely. And I'm going to have to be working
[8:28] Speaker 4: with her forever, so I don't need her hating me.
[8:31] Speaker 4: So I just want to reiterate that I would never
[8:34] Speaker 4: step out on you. And I've been cheated on before,
[8:38] Speaker 4: so I don't plan to do it on somebody else.
[8:41] Speaker 4: And I've been feeling very bad about how I've been
[8:43] Speaker 4: with you and distracted. And I've just been busy handling
[8:48] Speaker 4: this situation at work. This job is exhausting, and she
[8:53] Speaker 4: is not the sharpest tool in the shed. Oh, also,
[9:00] Speaker 4: do you have it? Were you recording the whole thing?
[9:02] Speaker 4: Because I did ask for white on the rose, too.
[9:06] Speaker 1: Oh, you did?
[9:06] Speaker 6: What is that?
[9:07] Speaker 1: That's true.
[9:08] Speaker 4: White's friend.
[9:10] Speaker 2: What?
[9:10] Speaker 1: Really?
[9:10] Speaker 6: That still wasn't the first thing that came to my mind,
[9:12] Speaker 6: but now I know.
[9:13] Speaker 1: Red roses is like love.
[9:14] Speaker 6: And white's for friendship. I thought yellow was friendship.
[9:18] Speaker 1: Either way, you did ask for a different color than
[9:20] Speaker 1: the red.
[9:21] Speaker 2: But I apologize. I feel so bad now.
[9:28] Speaker 5: I mean, you don't need to feel bad. You had
[9:30] Speaker 5: every right to feel the way that you did.
[9:31] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[9:32] Speaker 6: It's just the communication needed to happen.
[9:34] Speaker 1: I mean, how are you to know the new person
[9:37] Speaker 1: he's training is named Candace as well?
[9:38] Speaker 6: What are the chances? What are the odds?
[9:41] Speaker 2: Yeah. Oh, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I yelled at you.
[9:45] Speaker 4: Do you ever know when you go through customs and
[9:49] Speaker 4: you feel nervous and you have nothing to hide? Like
[9:51] Speaker 4: that's been like the last... 10 minutes.
