## Transcript

[0:28] SPEAKER_00: Pretenders, we are back for our third and final set of daily podcasts for the year.
[0:33] SPEAKER_00: This time for this weekend's IM 70.3 World Championships here in Sunny Marbella, Spain.
[0:39] SPEAKER_00: You know what the daily pods are by now.
[0:41] SPEAKER_00: They're 60% serious, 30% having a laugh with friends, and 10% none of us having any idea what's going on whatsoever.
[0:49] SPEAKER_00: But that's become the beauty of the daily podcasts.
[0:51] SPEAKER_00: Uh, I think the best part of the daily pods is getting all of you involved.
[0:55] SPEAKER_00: So remember that to get involved, all you have to do is head over to Spotify and leave a comment on today's episode.
[1:02] SPEAKER_00: That's the episode that you're listening to right now.
[1:04] SPEAKER_00: And we'll start tomorrow's daily podcast by reading out all of the best comments.
[1:09] SPEAKER_00: We'll debate them, we'll discuss them.
[1:11] SPEAKER_00: If they're taking the piss out of one of us, we love that too.
[1:13] SPEAKER_00: You know, we love to read those out.
[1:14] SPEAKER_00: But anything that you hear on today's episode that you think you would like talked about on tomorrow's episode, any questions you have, just head over, leave a comment, and we'll get right on it to start the episode tomorrow.
[1:25] SPEAKER_00: And we're going to do that with every episode going forward for the daily podcast as well.
[1:29] SPEAKER_00: Also, we are so stoked to announce that the daily podcasts this week are brought to you by Precision, Fuel, and Hydration.
[1:36] SPEAKER_00: Precision make the best gels, chews, carbon electrolyte drinks in endurance sport.
[1:41] SPEAKER_00: Myself and Apo use Precision in all of our training.
[1:44] SPEAKER_00: And what feels like almost all of the Triton world has started using Precision as well.
[1:49] SPEAKER_00: The reason that everyone does that is because they just make the best stuff by far.
[1:54] SPEAKER_00: If you've been living under a rock and haven't tried precision stuff, then head over to Precision Fuel and Hydration's website and use the discount code TTH25 for 15% off your first order.
[2:05] SPEAKER_00: Start by trying the PF90 gel, the PF30, both normal and caffeine gel, their chews and some pH 1000 electrolyte tablets, in my opinion.
[2:14] SPEAKER_00: That's the best blend.
[2:16] SPEAKER_00: Um that's the shit.
[2:17] SPEAKER_00: Okay, now let's get into today's podcast.
[2:19] SPEAKER_00: I'm joined as always by the one and only bald man on the podcast, the most opinionated man in Triton, and last year's 32nd place finisher at the Iron Man 70.3 World Championships, Greg Harper.
[2:32] SPEAKER_03: Thanks for having me, Jack.
[2:33] SPEAKER_03: And uh the creams I've been putting on my bald head are starting to work, so I might not be bald for much longer.
[2:39] SPEAKER_03: Excited.
[2:40] SPEAKER_00: And the 20-time 70.3 champion, a former fourth, fifth, and sixth place finisher at the Iron Man 70.3 World Championships, although in almost another life it was that long ago, Sam Appleton.
[2:53] SPEAKER_02: Thanks, Jack.
[2:54] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, back when it was easy to uh get in the top five 70.3 worlds, that's why I'm not going this year.
[2:59] SPEAKER_02: But um no.
[3:00] SPEAKER_02: Good to be here.
[3:02] SPEAKER_02: Um few more greys adding to the uh to the hair this week, no doubt, but at least I'm not bald.
[3:07] SPEAKER_02: Actually, Jack, would you prefer to be bald or grey?
[3:11] SPEAKER_00: Uh bald.
[3:12] SPEAKER_00: Really?
[3:13] SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
[3:13] SPEAKER_02: Wow.
[3:14] SPEAKER_02: You could pull off the baldness.
[3:15] SPEAKER_00: I reckon when you're bald, you can like when you're about 45 as a dude and bald, you can be pretty sexy.
[3:20] SPEAKER_00: Whereas I reckon grey is hard to to to work.
[3:23] SPEAKER_00: Like Robert De Niro can do grey, but like me and you can't do grey upper.
[3:28] SPEAKER_02: What do you mean?
[3:29] SPEAKER_02: I get told I look like Richard Gere with these greys.
[3:33] SPEAKER_02: Q Grant.
[3:34] SPEAKER_02: Q Grant vibes.
[3:36] SPEAKER_00: You look nothing like either of them.
[3:40] SPEAKER_02: Uh yeah, but it's good to be back.
[3:42] SPEAKER_02: I mean, did you guys watch Nooster over the weekend?
[3:45] SPEAKER_02: I know it's a bit of a maybe as an Australian I give it more credence than it deserves, but um, I just threw it on and I don't know if you guys watched it, but I just cannot believe uh like they were taking the piss, surely, those people in that front group.
[4:00] SPEAKER_02: Like I was like, oh, maybe it's just a tight section that they're all bunched up here, but the camera lingered on that group for a good three to four minutes, and there was people in there that were sitting like three meters behind.
[4:13] SPEAKER_03: Particularly the back of the group.
[4:15] SPEAKER_03: Like the front of the group looked like a little bit better, but at the back, and it happened the whole race, like in the first five minutes, and then the camera kept going back.
[4:23] SPEAKER_03: I'm like, dude, if you're back there, do you see the moto behind you?
[4:26] SPEAKER_03: Like, dude, you're on camera, man.
[4:27] SPEAKER_03: Like, chill out.
[4:28] SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and then uh the guy who was in the back uh ran his way in second.
[4:31] SPEAKER_03: So uh yeah, no wonder why he's so fresh.
[4:34] SPEAKER_00: It's kind of like the ground between short course racing and T-100 racing Noosa.
[4:39] SPEAKER_00: It's like the T100, yeah, you can get away with a little bit, but they will get you for some penalties.
[4:43] SPEAKER_00: WTCS, full draft legal.
[4:46] SPEAKER_00: Noosa's kind of like pretending that it's it's a non-drafting race, but it's actually a draft legal race.
[4:53] SPEAKER_03: I'm surprised they don't have race ranger.
[4:55] SPEAKER_03: I mean, because you know, it's it's from that part of the world.
[4:58] SPEAKER_03: I just I kind of was looking for it.
[4:59] SPEAKER_03: I'm like, oh, there's no race ranger, but uh yeah, maybe next year.
[5:03] SPEAKER_00: It's just such a small course, though.
[5:04] SPEAKER_00: There's so many people on it.
[5:06] SPEAKER_00: Like, there's just it's impossible.
[5:07] SPEAKER_00: If you if you see the age group race, the age group race is crazy.
[5:11] SPEAKER_00: It's just like a like a full paloton the entire course, basically.
[5:15] SPEAKER_00: It makes the pro race look like there's big gaps.
[5:19] SPEAKER_02: I do want to shout out though, when the camera did go to the group, there was a few people that I took note of that were looked to be riding pretty legal.
[5:26] SPEAKER_02: That was Matty Hauser, he was driving it off the front.
[5:29] SPEAKER_02: Luke William, also really good, and Aaron Royal.
[5:31] SPEAKER_02: So those three, I'm giving them a shout out for riding fair.
[5:35] SPEAKER_03: Aaron, I don't know.
[5:36] SPEAKER_03: No, I'm just kidding, he was definitely riding fair.
[5:38] SPEAKER_03: Um I actually was messaging Chase McQueen about it because he was sitting like third or fourth the whole time, and I was like, it looked you look pretty good.
[5:46] SPEAKER_03: And he's like, Yeah, man.
[5:47] SPEAKER_03: I wasn't angry or anything, then I saw the videos from the back of the group the whole time, and I think he was like a little bit bummed out.
[5:53] SPEAKER_03: I just we want to see like integrity, right?
[5:55] SPEAKER_03: I mean, if you can get away with stuff, that's great.
[5:57] SPEAKER_03: But you shouldn't.
[5:58] SPEAKER_03: I told Chase, I was like, I'd rather be dropped than draft, and I was like, trust me, I know.
[6:02] SPEAKER_03: So, you know, it's have some integrity out there.
[6:04] SPEAKER_03: I agree.
[6:05] SPEAKER_00: I think like probably the most interesting thing was that Cassandra Bogrand, the Olympic gold medalist, travels all the way out to Noosa and she's the one who gets a drafting penalty, even though the entire field in the men's and women's race is drafted at some point.
[6:19] SPEAKER_02: Except um Jess Fulliger, who was riding off the front.
[6:22] SPEAKER_02: Shout out to her for the win.
[6:23] SPEAKER_02: And shout out to Matty Hauser capping off probably like one of the best seasons anyone's put together.
[6:29] SPEAKER_02: So I've got a quick question for you guys.
[6:31] SPEAKER_02: Do you think Matt Hauser's season or Hayden Wilde's season is better?
[6:34] SPEAKER_02: Because Hayden's been pretty much undefeated at um middle distance T100, and Matt's pretty much undefeated at um oh, I think he might have.
[6:44] SPEAKER_02: But anyway, he had a perfect score in the WTCS.
[6:46] SPEAKER_02: Do you think his season Trump's uh Hayden Wilde season?
[6:50] SPEAKER_02: Yes, of course.
[6:51] SPEAKER_03: Come on, you know what I'm gonna say.
[6:53] SPEAKER_03: Anyway, I kind of have like developing the small crush on Matt Hauser, don't tell him.
[6:58] SPEAKER_03: Um but yeah, I I was impressed with this whole season, and dare I say the best male triathlete on the earth.
[7:03] SPEAKER_03: I maybe who knows.
[7:04] SPEAKER_02: Is it that wispy it's that wispy moustache that gets you, isn't it, Greg?
[7:08] SPEAKER_02: The light has to hit it for that moustache to uh to really uh glow.
[7:13] SPEAKER_03: Something about that Aussie accent.
[7:15] SPEAKER_03: I mean, that's why I like you guys as friends, because I'm like, this it just gets me going a little bit.
[7:19] SPEAKER_00: Maddie Hauser's the kind of guy who in about 30 years will look good grey.
[7:23] SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah.
[7:25] SPEAKER_00: Um but no, I think Hayden's year is better.
[7:27] SPEAKER_00: Like, yes, Maddie Hauser's doing it in uh a competition that's as strong as probably it's ever been.
[7:33] SPEAKER_00: But I just think the gap between Hayden Wilde and everyone else over middle distance racing is probably as big as any gap we've ever seen in men's middle distance racing before.
[7:44] SPEAKER_00: Whereas I don't think Hauser's doing anything we haven't seen in short course before.
[7:48] SPEAKER_00: Like I don't think Hauser's doing anything that's more special than what Alistair did or Gomez did or Alex Yee did.
[7:53] SPEAKER_00: Whereas I think what what Hayden Wilde's doing, I don't think we've seen anyone do it over the middle distance before.
[7:58] SPEAKER_00: Maybe like a 2019, 2020 Gustav Eden, but I still think Hayden right now is is kind of just like separating himself from the field in a way that we probably have only seen Taylor Nib do over on the women's side of things.
[8:12] SPEAKER_03: Now, can I ask like a tech question?
[8:14] SPEAKER_03: And we've seen a couple people not wear swimskins, and you talked about Jess Fulgar.
[8:19] SPEAKER_03: I think she had a specially custom-made suit that had sleeves, but it like looked like it was a swim skin, and she just blitzed T1.
[8:25] SPEAKER_03: I don't think she wore a swim skin and then she got on the bike and just pushed it.
[8:28] SPEAKER_03: So I'm curious if we're gonna see more of that like in some non-draft non-wetsuit pro racing where people have specially made suits just for that.
[8:36] SPEAKER_03: Um, just basically because you don't have to wear a swim skin.
[8:38] SPEAKER_03: I'm not sure.
[8:39] SPEAKER_00: Well, we've seen Hayden Wilde do that in the T100, Greg.
[8:42] SPEAKER_00: He's been going the no swim skin.
[8:43] SPEAKER_00: We've seen Sam Laidlow do it before.
[8:45] SPEAKER_00: I think it's a thing that's coming in, like maybe because it it saves some time in T1, but also maybe just a temperature thing, and maybe that the tri-suits now are being made with fabric that is pretty hydrophobic.
[8:57] SPEAKER_00: So I don't know.
[8:58] SPEAKER_00: What what do you think?
[8:58] SPEAKER_00: You're the resident swim expert here.
[9:00] SPEAKER_03: Well, I'm just on the back foot because I'm like, oh, this seems like a good tech innovation.
[9:04] SPEAKER_03: And obviously the short course suits are decent, right?
[9:07] SPEAKER_03: I mean, they all swim with no wetsuit quite a bit, but these ones with sleeves that are maybe arrow and I just said hydrophobic at the same time.
[9:17] SPEAKER_03: I mean, when you see like the Haydens and the Laidlow start doing stuff, then it trickles down, right?
[9:22] SPEAKER_03: There's always a few guys who set the standard and then it trickles down to the rest of us.
[9:25] SPEAKER_03: So I'm I'm in the complete dark.
[9:26] SPEAKER_03: I have no idea what's happening in that space, but I'm super curious.
[9:29] SPEAKER_00: Okay.
[9:29] SPEAKER_00: I think the biggest talking point out of the Noosa triathlon was the fight at the finish line between the 60-ish year old bloke and the 16-ish year old bloke.
[9:38] SPEAKER_00: Boys, you saw this footage?
[9:40] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I woke up.
[9:42] SPEAKER_02: It was the first thing I saw on Instagram when you posted it.
[9:48] SPEAKER_02: What is going on?
[9:50] SPEAKER_02: I mean, yeah, maybe the maybe that little kid was doing his first triath on or something and he was sitting on old mate's wheel and he wasn't happy, blitzed him at the finish line, and old mate took it personally.
[10:00] SPEAKER_00: Well, let's go that.
[10:01] SPEAKER_00: Like, let's all give our prediction as to what happened, what happened in the lead up to that.
[10:06] SPEAKER_00: And if you haven't seen this, by the way, just head over to the triton our Instagram.
[10:10] SPEAKER_00: It's it's a pretty funny video.
[10:11] SPEAKER_00: Wow, funny or serious, depending on who's listening.
[10:14] SPEAKER_00: If you don't like it, then it's a very serious thing.
[10:17] SPEAKER_00: If you think it's funny, then we agree it's funny.
[10:19] SPEAKER_03: From the video, it looks like the kid says something to the guy as he like crosses the finish line.
[10:24] SPEAKER_03: I feel like he was running up on the old man.
[10:25] SPEAKER_03: He's just like, I'm gonna get your ass, old man, like beats him and then like talks some shit.
[10:29] SPEAKER_03: And the guy just lost it.
[10:30] SPEAKER_03: Like at he says he's like, fuck this kid.
[10:33] SPEAKER_03: Like, I don't know.
[10:33] SPEAKER_03: That that's how I seen it playing.
[10:35] SPEAKER_03: Because, you know, you could draft someone, but that kid's probably gonna outrun that old man, it looks like, too, right?
[10:41] SPEAKER_03: So I feel like he was coming up on him and then, yeah, just like talking some shit.
[10:44] SPEAKER_03: I mean, and then he tried to be like, Oh, look, look, come on, guys, look at this old man.
[10:48] SPEAKER_03: Like, he's he's he's trying to get me.
[10:50] SPEAKER_03: So uh I we gotta get some more insider information about this though.
[10:54] SPEAKER_02: Maybe it was a father and a son, and they had some uh they had some uh something on the line and dad wasn't happy that he got beaten by his son.
[11:02] SPEAKER_02: But um I don't know, man.
[11:04] SPEAKER_02: I like it.
[11:06] SPEAKER_02: Tempers tempers are heated at the finish line, so who knows?
[11:11] SPEAKER_02: But um we should try and if they're listening, if they're fans of this um of the pod, we should get them to comment or call in.
[11:18] SPEAKER_02: We could do a little Benjamin Zorgnotti 10-minute segment and get them both on the line and do a Dr.
[11:23] SPEAKER_02: Phil or something.
[11:23] SPEAKER_00: I've got their names, but I'm not gonna read them because I just think like I just I'll let them come forward if they want to come forward.
[11:31] SPEAKER_00: But if you are listening, either one of you, we don't discriminate, just send us a message on the triath on our Instagram.
[11:36] SPEAKER_00: We'll get you on the daily podcast.
[11:38] SPEAKER_00: We want to get to the bottom of it.
[11:39] SPEAKER_00: I think what's happened is that somewhere out on the bike course, words were exchanged.
[11:44] SPEAKER_00: I'm not sure what about, but I think maybe some smart ass comments by one of them, maybe a little bit of back and forward, maybe then on the run, some more words were exchanged.
[11:53] SPEAKER_00: And then I think you're right, Greg.
[11:54] SPEAKER_00: It looks like when the old fella crosses the finish line, it looks like the young, the young puff walks up to him and gives him a bit of lip.
[12:02] SPEAKER_00: And maybe like, I don't know, you it kind of looks like he goes to shake his hand, maybe he doesn't though, maybe he's like pointing and giving him some lip.
[12:08] SPEAKER_00: And then the old man just cracks it.
[12:10] SPEAKER_00: Like he is just he's had enough, he's car blow, it was about 30 degrees out on course.
[12:15] SPEAKER_00: And I there was a split second where I reckon the old man has gone, do I punch him or do I not?
[12:20] SPEAKER_00: And he's decided not to.
[12:22] SPEAKER_00: I do think this would be another story if fists were thrown, because you can't be, you know, near and 60 and punching a 16-year-old kid on a triathlon finish line, can you?
[12:30] SPEAKER_02: He'd be banned from all Iron Man events.
[12:33] SPEAKER_03: I thought the Aussies love to take a piss, take the piss, not take a piss.
[12:37] SPEAKER_03: Um and I thought you could just like you know, riff with your mates, but apparently Australia's gone a little soft.
[12:43] SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
[12:46] SPEAKER_02: As soon as there's physical um interaction, that's where we draw the line, Greg.
[12:51] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, all right, all right, that's fair.
[12:52] SPEAKER_00: If it's caught on camera.
[12:55] SPEAKER_02: Moving on, I wanted to um it's been over the last couple of weeks a few announcements of retirement.
[13:00] SPEAKER_02: Um so I wanted to give a quick shout out to um Braden Curry, Tim Van Burkel, and Aaron Royal.
[13:05] SPEAKER_02: They've all announced that they're closing the curtains at the end of this year.
[13:10] SPEAKER_02: And those three guys have been pretty influential on my career.
[13:13] SPEAKER_02: Um, I've raced all of them many times, you know, Braden being from New Zealand and Burks and Aaron from Australia.
[13:20] SPEAKER_02: And I I actually grew up with Aaron racing a lot.
[13:22] SPEAKER_02: We've been racing each other since we were like 12 or 13 years old.
[13:25] SPEAKER_02: So yeah, it's um great career to all those guys, and they've been hugely influential on me.
[13:30] SPEAKER_02: And I think, yeah, the sport is worse with those three out of it, in my opinion.
[13:35] SPEAKER_02: So I just wanted to give a quick shout out to those guys.
[13:37] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, shout out Braden, Tim, and Aaron.
[13:39] SPEAKER_00: All massive careers, massive careers, actually.
[13:42] SPEAKER_00: What's the highlight?
[13:43] SPEAKER_00: Aaron Royal's probably his Olympics in 2016, probably his highlight.
[13:47] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, top ten.
[13:48] SPEAKER_02: I mean, top ten at the Olympics, that's nothing to sneeze at.
[13:51] SPEAKER_02: I think initially it was really disappointed with that result, but I think looking back on that now, it's pretty amazing.
[13:56] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Aaron, under 23 world champion as well, and he's had some good WTCS results and third place at the Canadian Open when Gustav won and Christian came second.
[14:04] SPEAKER_00: Low key, a good result looking back.
[14:06] SPEAKER_02: Yep, underrated performance.
[14:08] SPEAKER_02: Burke seventh at Kona, and then Braden, probably his best result, was um third at uh the St.
[14:14] SPEAKER_02: George World Champs.
[14:16] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, incredible.
[14:17] SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah.
[14:18] SPEAKER_00: Okay, so Noosa out of the way, some big retirements, all uh Southern Hemisphere boys are Kiwi and two Australians as well, or Aaron Royal, potentially British at this point.
[14:28] SPEAKER_00: Uh, and we're gonna get into the 70.3 World Championships, but just one thing that we wanted to touch on before we did, and it's following up from our discussion last week at the start of the podcast about movies, where we found out that uh Apo's a bit of a movie buff, Greg's got some slightly questionable movie taste, and my movie taste is really, really strong.
[14:47] SPEAKER_00: Um, we wanted to ask another movie-related question.
[14:51] SPEAKER_00: And this one is if you were to go on a first date and say you went for a coffee and then you went on a second date with someone and you went out for dinner, and then it was third date time, and you two had decided, okay, we're gonna go to one of our houses and watch a movie on the couch.
[15:06] SPEAKER_00: What is the best third date movie on the couch movie of all time?
[15:13] SPEAKER_02: So, um, one of my favourite movies is No Country for Old Men.
[15:17] SPEAKER_02: I would throw that on, and if they don't like it, then you don't need to waste your time with a fourth date.
[15:22] SPEAKER_02: You can potentially, you know, know if it's this is worth pursuing or if we're done and it's over and it's never gonna go further than that third date.
[15:30] SPEAKER_00: So the girl says to you, girl or guy, whatever you're feeling at the time, Apo, says to you, okay, that like you were 30 minutes into the movie.
[15:38] SPEAKER_00: Could we maybe change this?
[15:39] SPEAKER_00: I'm a bit bored.
[15:40] SPEAKER_00: What would you say?
[15:41] SPEAKER_02: I'd be out of there.
[15:45] SPEAKER_02: Just picks up leaves, no words.
[15:47] SPEAKER_02: See ya.
[15:47] SPEAKER_00: What if it's your house?
[15:49] SPEAKER_02: Oh, maybe I don't know, maybe pretend I've got explosive diary or start dropping like big fart bombs to get her out of the house or something.
[15:58] SPEAKER_03: Well, I don't know if you guys have heard of the first one, uh, Legally Blonde.
[16:03] SPEAKER_03: The second one backs up.
[16:04] SPEAKER_03: Legally blonde too is my answer.
[16:07] SPEAKER_03: And look, if she's not laughing or he's not laughing, just like Apple, boot him to the curb because that's one of the greatest movies of all time.
[16:14] SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
[16:15] SPEAKER_00: No comment.
[16:16] SPEAKER_00: Uh for me it's the Hunger Games.
[16:18] SPEAKER_00: I think it's uh like the perfect blend.
[16:20] SPEAKER_00: It's a bit serious, a bit scary, so potentially some uh opportunities for cuddles if one of you is scared, if she or he isn't scared and you want to cuddle, just pretend to be scared, you know, a lot of a lot of murder in the Hunger Games, but also it's kind of a little bit rom-commy at times as well.
[16:35] SPEAKER_00: So yeah, Hunger Games for me.
[16:37] SPEAKER_00: All right, boys, let's get into the Iron Man 70.3 World Championships.
[16:42] SPEAKER_00: It's taken us a long, long time to get here.
[16:44] SPEAKER_00: Today's episode, we're gonna do a bit of a deep dive on the men's race, and then tomorrow's episode, we're gonna do a bit of a deep dive on the women's race, and then over the next few days, we've got some uh some more specific things to talk about.
[16:56] SPEAKER_00: Um, so starting us off, Greg, you're the resident swim expert here.
[17:01] SPEAKER_00: You actually led the Iron Man 70.3 World Championships uh swim.
[17:05] SPEAKER_00: You you were the first man into T1 last year.
[17:08] SPEAKER_00: So take us through this swim at Mar Baya.
[17:10] SPEAKER_03: Yes, I was, Jack, with a 12-second gap.
[17:12] SPEAKER_03: So that was the greatest moment of my career.
[17:14] SPEAKER_03: And I thought the finish line was actually at T1, but apparently there was a bike and run after, and uh yeah, like you said earlier, faded into 32nd place.
[17:22] SPEAKER_03: Um But look, I was talking about it with you guys before.
[17:26] SPEAKER_03: There's so many good swimmers in this race, and historically 70.3 worlds, I don't think we're gonna see massive gaps here.
[17:33] SPEAKER_03: Now, there's guys who are strong and there's guys who are semi-strong, right?
[17:37] SPEAKER_03: But if I had to make a prediction, I would say there'd be 20 to 30 guys who come out within a minute and a minute 15 within each other.
[17:45] SPEAKER_03: Now, there'll be small gaps among that, but and I'm gonna kind of list out some names because we wanna we wanna shout out the shout out the boys on the pod.
[17:52] SPEAKER_03: And I went through everyone on the start list, and I think these are pretty much all the names, but uh sorry if I butcher a couple.
[17:58] SPEAKER_03: There's definitely some ITU guys who I didn't quite know.
[18:01] SPEAKER_03: But now I'll say who I think the best swimmer in the field is, and I think that's uh is this uh sorry, it's Craciani.
[18:08] SPEAKER_03: Alessio, I think is his first name.
[18:09] SPEAKER_03: I think he might be the strongest swimmer in the field.
[18:12] SPEAKER_03: Um he's on the short course circuit, he just took third in the grand final.
[18:16] SPEAKER_03: He's he's led out some some big races.
[18:18] SPEAKER_03: But we got the likes of Mark Dubrick, Jonas Schaumburg, Rico Bogan, Vincent Louie, Jamie Riddle, Seth Ryder, Max Newman, maybe, hopefully.
[18:28] SPEAKER_01: Nah.
[18:29] SPEAKER_03: Kevin McDowell, Willie Hirsch, Andy Horsefall Turner, Ben Canute, uh Michelle Bordelametti, Matthias Margerier, kind of fringe, but he'll probably be up there.
[18:43] SPEAKER_03: Martin Demuth, Taylor Reed, Yellow Gaines, Fabian Kraft, Cameron Main, Lassi Nagard, Priester, Gregor Payot, potentially.
[18:55] SPEAKER_03: And this last kind of crop, I'll probably put Matias in there too.
[18:58] SPEAKER_03: Like Rudy Von Berg, uh Simon Westerman, Simon Vane, Midel Hidalgo, Caspar Stor Stoy Stoinez.
[19:06] SPEAKER_03: Stoinez.
[19:07] SPEAKER_03: Um those guys are all kind of fringy, right?
[19:10] SPEAKER_03: So look, there's a ton of guys, and that's the thing.
[19:13] SPEAKER_03: The gaps get filled, right?
[19:14] SPEAKER_03: So maybe there's a small group of four, but then there's an eight-second gap.
[19:18] SPEAKER_03: And that's kind of how it played out last year.
[19:19] SPEAKER_03: It's like I had I came out first, but I think there was 20 guys within like 48 seconds or something.
[19:25] SPEAKER_03: And someone like Yella was kind of near the back of that, but he's he has he's in contact, right?
[19:31] SPEAKER_03: And that's just kind of how I see it playing out.
[19:33] SPEAKER_03: I think if you go, if someone like Jamie Riddle or Jonah Schoenberg go to the front, like we're gonna blast this apart, it's share the work, you're not gonna get a massive gap that's gonna make a huge game-changing decision because the bike is so hard.
[19:47] SPEAKER_03: Like, power was gonna win out on the bike.
[19:49] SPEAKER_03: So the swim, it it's important.
[19:52] SPEAKER_03: You could lose it, but you're not gonna win it.
[19:54] SPEAKER_00: So read read this swim.
[19:56] SPEAKER_00: Do you think that the big players like Eureko Bogan, Jacocciani's, your Vincent Louise, uh, who else might want to do it?
[20:03] SPEAKER_00: Schomburg, Mark Dubrick.
[20:05] SPEAKER_00: Do you think that they're going to purposely not swim as hard as what they would if they thought they were they were in a field where they could get a gap and form a breakaway group, maybe more like the Iron Man World Championships that we saw in Nice?
[20:16] SPEAKER_00: Or do you think that those kind of guys don't really care and they're just gonna hammer the swim, make it hard for everyone else?
[20:24] SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's it's hard to say.
[20:25] SPEAKER_03: I think a little bit of both, honestly.
[20:27] SPEAKER_03: Like you see how Jamie Riddle races too.
[20:29] SPEAKER_03: Like if he wants to go to the front, he's always looking behind.
[20:31] SPEAKER_03: If he sees 10 guys right behind, he'll probably just start doing some backstroke or something, right?
[20:35] SPEAKER_03: So I think I think they know that this race is gonna be one on the bike.
[20:39] SPEAKER_03: I mean, there's 5,800 feet or you know, however many meters of of elevation.
[20:44] SPEAKER_03: Uh that's gonna be a much bigger role.
[20:47] SPEAKER_03: But uh, like you said, I think the Schaumburgs, the Riddles, you know, Vincent Louis, Rico, they'll go out in the swim threshold.
[20:54] SPEAKER_03: Like, are they gonna go to the well?
[20:56] SPEAKER_03: Probably not, but they're gonna go swim hard.
[20:58] SPEAKER_03: Then they want good positioning on the bike too, right?
[21:00] SPEAKER_03: Because if Rico's like, oh shoot, I'm in the top four coming out of the water, I know Yellow's a bit back, I know Matias is a little bit back, the Ditlibs, the really strong cyclists are a bit back, I think he he will want to put an effort to be up there.
[21:14] SPEAKER_03: But like you said, like I said, there's gonna be a lot of guys in close proximity, and I guarantee the beginning of the bike is gonna be there was a moment last year at Worlds where I was probably already in 30th place and we're like five miles into the bike, and I just looked and it was like a Peloton in front of me, and I was just like cracking up.
[21:29] SPEAKER_03: Like I'm like, this is actually crazy.
[21:31] SPEAKER_03: No, there's 10 dudes passing, there's 10 dudes on one side.
[21:34] SPEAKER_03: It's gonna be really, really crazy and hectic, probably in that first, you know, whatever, five, ten, fifteen K of the bike for these guys.
[21:41] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's pretty different to the Taubo course because after 5k, you're out on the climb, and the climb is proper hard from the start.
[21:48] SPEAKER_00: And I I don't know, I do think it will be different.
[21:50] SPEAKER_00: I don't think we're gonna see a big Paloton, but we're gonna come to the bike.
[21:54] SPEAKER_00: You didn't mention some big names.
[21:55] SPEAKER_00: You mentioned Yalla, you mentioned Casper that they might be on the back end of the swim.
[22:00] SPEAKER_00: What about Christian Blumenfeld, Gustav Eden, Bitterdoss, Magnus Ditliff, guys like this?
[22:05] SPEAKER_00: Are they are they a chance to get dropped?
[22:07] SPEAKER_00: Like, do you expect Greg a big name to lose it in the swim like them because they're just too far behind the front bike group?
[22:13] SPEAKER_03: It's a good question.
[22:14] SPEAKER_03: I mean, I think Christian will kind of be in that fringy.
[22:17] SPEAKER_03: And same with Ditliff, right?
[22:19] SPEAKER_03: I think they'll be in there, but they are thereabouts.
[22:23] SPEAKER_03: I think Gustav could run into a little bit of trouble potentially.
[22:26] SPEAKER_03: I mean, we've we've seen it over the years.
[22:27] SPEAKER_03: Christian typically out swims Gustav.
[22:30] SPEAKER_03: And especially in a course where there's a lot of good swimmers, Gustav could be a bit strung out.
[22:34] SPEAKER_03: Um now they could be dropped.
[22:38] SPEAKER_03: If you're behind the Ditliffs and you're behind the Matias Margier, or maybe even Robert Callan, or even behind Christian, I think that's where you can lose the race.
[22:48] SPEAKER_03: You know, if Bidados goes in and doesn't have a great swim and he's behind Christian and Ditliff and Matthias Margierier, it's like you're probably not sniffing the front.
[22:57] SPEAKER_03: Like there's gonna be big movers on the bike, and you know, we don't know exactly.
[23:01] SPEAKER_03: Like this is a kind of a crazy course, but I think you can if you're getting out behind if you're two minutes out at the water out the back, I think it's gonna be really tough for you.
[23:10] SPEAKER_03: So um and there's actually a quite a number of turns on the swim course, too, right?
[23:15] SPEAKER_03: So there's like a left-hand buoy, and looks like maybe three or four hundred meters in.
[23:20] SPEAKER_03: So, you know, if you're not ranked high, you're on the far right and you get pushed out and you you get pushed, you know, positioning could play a big role in it.
[23:28] SPEAKER_03: So it's gonna be interesting to see how it shakes up and who is gonna miss out.
[23:33] SPEAKER_03: But I bet one or two big names, not maybe not big, but you know, like a bitadas or or someone in that category who has a threat for that top five possibly, finds himself on the back foot and and maybe really never gets into the race like they were expecting.
[23:47] SPEAKER_02: Who leads it out, Greg, in your opinion?
[23:49] SPEAKER_03: I think maybe Vincent Louis.
[23:51] SPEAKER_03: He always positions himself well and maybe he wants a little like swim recognition too, because he probably knows he's not gonna compete in the race, you know, anymore.
[23:59] SPEAKER_03: Maybe he wants to lead out a world champ.
[24:00] SPEAKER_03: I mean, he's done that plenty of time, but I you know, Rico is always sneakily positioning himself him at the end to like get I'm not sure if he has a swim bonus or not, but he a lot of the times in the T100 he's like third or fourth, and then he sneaks his way up to cross the mat first.
[24:15] SPEAKER_03: So uh I would say look for that.
[24:17] SPEAKER_03: I don't think Dubrick is gonna care too much.
[24:19] SPEAKER_03: I think he wants to focus on placing as high as he possibly can.
[24:23] SPEAKER_03: You know, Seth Ryder went off the front in a St.
[24:25] SPEAKER_03: George and ahead of Dubrick, right?
[24:27] SPEAKER_03: So there's there's there's plenty of guys.
[24:29] SPEAKER_03: I think it's probably one of those five.
[24:31] SPEAKER_00: I reckon Alessio Crocciani is one of the best swimmers in the field and could, and we know what Jonas Schomburg's gonna do.
[24:37] SPEAKER_00: He's not gonna get dropped by that group, and he always wants to exit T1 in first, doesn't he?
[24:42] SPEAKER_00: So I mean if I if you had to put money on someone who will be on the bike first, maybe not who will cross the swim exit first, but who will be on the bike first, you would have to put all your money on Jonas Schomburg, wouldn't you?
[24:53] SPEAKER_03: Yeah, or or Cracciani, too.
[24:55] SPEAKER_03: You know, these he's fresh out of ITU.
[24:57] SPEAKER_03: Like getting on the bike fast is incredibly important.
[24:59] SPEAKER_03: So I would say one of those, one of those two guys, I would say a 50% chance it's one of those two guys.
[25:05] SPEAKER_02: I will say Mark Dubrick's in good swim form.
[25:07] SPEAKER_02: I swam with him before he left.
[25:09] SPEAKER_02: And because he's been injured, I think he's been up in that swim mileage.
[25:12] SPEAKER_02: So yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if Mark's in that top hand full out of the water.
[25:16] SPEAKER_00: What injury does Mark Dubrick have, Appo?
[25:18] SPEAKER_02: He had a femoral stress fracture um through all summer, so he's only been back running um recently within the last month or two.
[25:26] SPEAKER_02: Um but he's swimming really well.
[25:27] SPEAKER_02: He uh he kicked my ass in the pool the other day.
[25:30] SPEAKER_02: Um But yeah, it's interesting.
[25:34] SPEAKER_02: Does that matter?
[25:35] SPEAKER_00: For those of you, for those of you, which is all of you who can't see the video, Greg's face when Atho said he kicked my ass the other day suggested that's not saying anything, Apo.
[25:50] SPEAKER_00: Training is about 50% of the game as an endurance athlete, and the other 50% is everything you do outside of training to see the benefits of your training.
[25:58] SPEAKER_00: For example, sleep, recovery, nutrition, it all helps make you a better athlete.
[26:03] SPEAKER_00: And pillar performance can help you with all of those things.
[26:06] SPEAKER_00: For example, they have grass-fed premium whey protein isolate to have in your in a shake or on your muesley post-session in the morning or as a snack during work or late at night as a snack as a healthy alternative to eating junk food.
[26:19] SPEAKER_00: They also have triple magnesium that you should all be taking 45 minutes before bed to improve your sleep.
[26:25] SPEAKER_00: Nothing helps see the adaptations from training like better quality sleep and more of it.
[26:32] SPEAKER_00: So get yourself triple magnesium powder, take it before bed every night, and watch how much fitter you get because you're sleeping better.
[26:39] SPEAKER_00: It helps with adaptation from training.
[26:42] SPEAKER_00: If you haven't tried it, you've got to try it.
[26:43] SPEAKER_00: They also have the highest quality creatine monohydrate in the world, which every athlete should be using.
[26:48] SPEAKER_00: They have collagen repair to help prevent injuries or get you back quicker from tendon or ligament injuries.

[27:26] SPEAKER_02: Should we move on to the bike?
[27:28] SPEAKER_02: Because I think this race is similar to Nice, right?
[27:32] SPEAKER_02: It's a very um very hilly course, 1700 meters of elevation.
[27:37] SPEAKER_02: Um, and for reference, Nice 70.3 has 1200 meters of elevation.
[27:43] SPEAKER_02: So it's another 500 meters on the 70.3 at Nice.
[27:47] SPEAKER_02: Um, so probably the hilliest 70.3 course we've ever seen outside of world championships and everything.
[27:54] SPEAKER_02: Like maybe outside of those like French Alp Duez races and stuff, this has got to be one of the like one of the races with the most elevation, in my opinion.
[28:02] SPEAKER_02: So I mean, it's gonna be crazy.
[28:04] SPEAKER_02: It's gonna be like Nice all over again.
[28:06] SPEAKER_02: Like people are gonna be doing crazy things to their bikes to try and get them as light as possible, um, you know, stripping paint and things.
[28:13] SPEAKER_02: I'm interested to see what do you guys think?
[28:15] SPEAKER_02: Do you think people will go no disc to in favor of like a lighter rear wheel, or do you think disc is always gonna trump?
[28:23] SPEAKER_00: I still think it's a disc course because the discs aren't that much heavier.
[28:27] SPEAKER_00: And this course, it's kind of it's a crazy course.
[28:30] SPEAKER_00: I went and I went and recade the course today.
[28:32] SPEAKER_00: So there is like the first part of the climb is super steep and quite long.
[28:37] SPEAKER_00: Like it goes for it goes for like five kilometers, and it's really steep.
[28:41] SPEAKER_00: And particularly like so you do this first climb and then you drop down a little bit, and then you do this second climb, and that second climb is like fucking really, really hard.
[28:49] SPEAKER_00: And like a roadie would be better, like a super light road bike would be better.
[28:53] SPEAKER_00: But then when you get to the top of that climb, you have this section which is like a big long out and back.
[28:59] SPEAKER_00: It's just like if you had a 70-tooth chain ring, TT bars, aero helmet, like uh, you know, a disc, um, a tri spoke front, you would go so far.
[29:10] SPEAKER_00: So, like there's still this like really long section where being aero and having some slightly heavier gear will make a big difference.
[29:17] SPEAKER_00: Like, I I think if you think of it, the first part of the course is like really suited to a climber, but then it goes on to this section where it's like really suited to someone like Rico Bogan.
[29:27] SPEAKER_00: It just like has Rico's name written all over it, or any of like the strong time trial that's like Magnus Gitlive or say a Hayden Wilde, and then you do a U-turn and you come back and you climb it, where again, like a disc is a big advantage.
[29:39] SPEAKER_00: Um, and then there's like an another little like climbing section, but then you have this really long run in back into T2 where I'm telling you guys, like you'll you'll easily be able to hit 100 kilometres an hour if you've got the balls to do it.
[29:51] SPEAKER_00: Like if you have the balls to get in your TT bars and just hammer it, there's this long, non-technical descent all the way back into T2 where you could die if you really wanted to push it, like you could fully just die.
[30:05] SPEAKER_00: It's so crazy how fast it could be.
[30:07] SPEAKER_00: And I'm a bit worried about the age groupers, like it's genuinely a scary descent, like it's so fast, and it's one of those ones that like has like just a little amount of technicality about it, but not enough to stop you from doing stupid shit.
[30:21] SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
[30:21] SPEAKER_02: So someone like Rudy von Berg's licking his lips at that descent, probably, because he's insane on the descent.
[30:27] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's a good shout.
[30:28] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, or Gustav, I thought as well, Gustav could hammer that descent.
[30:31] SPEAKER_00: I think the whole good the whole bike course has Gustav Eden's name written all over it if he's in shape.
[30:36] SPEAKER_00: I've heard that maybe he's not in the best shape coming off the Iron Man World Championships, but I never know what to believe with the Norwegians.
[30:42] SPEAKER_00: Like, is it all just bullshit?
[30:43] SPEAKER_00: But I have heard that.
[30:45] SPEAKER_00: So I don't know.
[30:46] SPEAKER_00: But if he's fit, like he was at at Nice, it has Gustav Eden's name written all over it, I think.
[30:50] SPEAKER_00: Or like Nick Thompson as well.
[30:52] SPEAKER_00: Really, really like couldn't I don't think you could picture a better course for someone like Nick Thompson.
[30:58] SPEAKER_03: We gotta give a shout out to Iron Man for just like making a crazy course for the for the world champs.
[31:03] SPEAKER_03: I mean, we're always we're always kind of knocking on the T100, like, oh, these are boring courses.
[31:07] SPEAKER_03: This course is gonna be exciting, especially on the bike, and there's so much, there's a lot of difference in skill set, right?
[31:13] SPEAKER_03: As Jack just mentioned.
[31:14] SPEAKER_03: So I think that's just gonna make for great racing.
[31:16] SPEAKER_03: Now you brought up Nick Thompson.
[31:18] SPEAKER_03: The swim's gonna be like, you know, an interesting factor for him.
[31:21] SPEAKER_03: We didn't mention him on the swim, but obviously the bike course suits him.
[31:23] SPEAKER_03: It's like hopefully he can stay within that, you know, 90 seconds to two minutes so he can run his way or make his way closer to the to the front of the race.
[31:32] SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
[31:32] SPEAKER_02: I reckon the person that's licking their lips the most about this bike course is Yellow Geans.
[31:36] SPEAKER_02: Like his power to rate weight is phenomenal.
[31:39] SPEAKER_02: And he's also shown in the T-100 that he's a great time trialist as well.
[31:43] SPEAKER_02: Like he's been coming off the bike at that front end, like only maybe a minute down on Hayden or Rico or whoever's leading off the front of these T-100.
[31:52] SPEAKER_02: So he can TT with the best of them, but he's also got amazing power to wait.
[31:56] SPEAKER_02: So I reckon this course has got him all over it, and wouldn't surprise me to see him right up the front into T2 in that front group or even in the in the lead, in my opinion.
[32:08] SPEAKER_00: My only question about Yalla Apo is do you remember the T100 French Riviera race?
[32:13] SPEAKER_00: Which it it's not as hard as this course, and definitely the climbs suit Yalla.
[32:18] SPEAKER_00: But do you remember how at the start of the French T100 Riviera race, Yalla was like he went to the front, he went around Hayden and Rico, but then on like the long technical sections, like the last little bit of the climb, and then when it went into the fast ascents, Rico and Hayden dropped him and he got gapped by them.
[32:37] SPEAKER_00: I just wonder whether whether Yalla is thinking about that, like whether he remembers what happens at the French Riviera T100 race and he's a bit nervous about once it gets to the top of the climb and goes into that really long TT heavy, big man, like Rico Bogan or Magnus Ditliff style section of the course, whether that's the section he's worried about.
[32:56] SPEAKER_00: Because I do think you're right, he weighs about 60 kilos, he's tiny, he's five foot three, and the first part of this course and the climbing really suits him.
[33:04] SPEAKER_00: And so I think out of the swim, even if he's, you know, 30 seconds down from those guys like Riddle and Schomberg, he will get back up to him on the climb.
[33:12] SPEAKER_00: I just wonder whether that's the the time to watch on that course, like the the long descent.
[33:16] SPEAKER_02: It's interesting as well, this bike course.
[33:18] SPEAKER_02: How's it going to suit guys like Magnus has ridden well at Nice?
[33:22] SPEAKER_02: I know this um the Nice just gone.
[33:24] SPEAKER_02: He wasn't he was under the weather, it was a bit sick, but a couple of years ago at Nice Iron Man World Championships, he rode really strong.
[33:31] SPEAKER_02: Um but I'm just I'm not sure if this the amount of elevation on this course suits these bigger guys like the Rico's, the Magnus, Robert Callan, Hogan Hague, another amazing time trial.
[33:40] SPEAKER_02: It's like it's gonna be interesting to see where though these guys shake out on the Hilly course.
[33:46] SPEAKER_02: And Jack, you mentioned that there is opportunity for that, you know, for them to use their their power over the flatter sections, but it'll be interesting to see how they handle the climbs and if they're within striking distance and able to kind of get get towards the front of the race um with their strength on those flatter sections.
[34:03] SPEAKER_03: Can we put Rico in with them though?
[34:05] SPEAKER_03: Like he's in his own ballpark.
[34:06] SPEAKER_03: We saw it at San Francisco T-100.
[34:08] SPEAKER_03: He can climb with anyone.
[34:10] SPEAKER_03: Um so I you know, to be like, oh, the bigger guys, like Rico can climb and he can he can flat TT.
[34:17] SPEAKER_03: Like, like this is his course, I think.
[34:19] SPEAKER_03: You know, I think he's gonna do really well.
[34:20] SPEAKER_03: Now you talk about Magnus and some of those other guys, maybe there's a few more question marks, but I feel like Rico has really shown that he is one of the best climbers, no matter what.
[34:29] SPEAKER_03: Also, Jamie Riddle climbed super well at SF.
[34:33] SPEAKER_03: Is his time trialing quite good?
[34:34] SPEAKER_03: Also, I don't I'm a big Seth Ryder fan.
[34:37] SPEAKER_03: I I with his bike skills and his power, I think this could could suit him well.
[34:43] SPEAKER_03: Um now, whether he can hang at the front of the race, I'm not quite sure, but those are a couple other names I was I was thinking of.
[34:49] SPEAKER_00: We saw at Nice Apo that Magnus Ditli had an off day.
[34:53] SPEAKER_00: Now, he has came out come out and said that he was sick, and so I really think this race is an opportunity for him to show, hey, I was just sick, I'm not getting passed by the guys like Christian and Gustav and Kasper and Nick Thompson and Sam Lalo.
[35:07] SPEAKER_00: I still and Rico Bogan, I still ride as well as any of them.
[35:10] SPEAKER_00: Because I do think there's a question mark, right?
[35:12] SPEAKER_00: Like, is Magnus still the best cyclist in the sport?
[35:16] SPEAKER_00: Is he still even an Uber biker, or have those group of guys I just talked about, have they caught him and they're all just as good as him now?
[35:22] SPEAKER_00: And his swim gap, you know, it it he can't just close it like he used to.
[35:27] SPEAKER_00: Do you do you think that this course suits him?
[35:29] SPEAKER_00: Do you think he will get to the front of the race on the bike?
[35:32] SPEAKER_02: I don't know if he'll get to the front of the race, but I do definitely think he'll make some inroads to the front or definitely put himself in a position to be in the the top five off the bike.
[35:42] SPEAKER_02: It's it's hard to tell with Magnus because his year hasn't been the best, but I think you're right.
[35:47] SPEAKER_02: Like this is almost his last roll of the dice for 2025 to kind of salvage his year.
[35:53] SPEAKER_02: So I think he'll be hungry and motivated.
[35:55] SPEAKER_02: It just depends on how that sickness affected him.
[35:58] SPEAKER_02: Because I I saw on Instagram he posted not even that long ago, oh, just starting to feel a little bit better after my sickness in Nice.
[36:05] SPEAKER_02: And that was only like three weeks ago.
[36:06] SPEAKER_02: So, you know, that's a lot of that's not much time to turn your season around.
[36:12] SPEAKER_02: But um, you know, Magnus is a great athlete, and I think he has shown at 70.3 that he can be really, really good.
[36:19] SPEAKER_02: Um, it just depends what Magnus we get.
[36:22] SPEAKER_02: I think, yeah, his year has been a little bit quiet.
[36:25] SPEAKER_02: So I hope we see a Magnus that we saw a couple of years ago when he was just so dominant.
[36:30] SPEAKER_02: And I think the other question, he is still an Uber biker for sure.
[36:32] SPEAKER_02: There's a couple of people that can ride with him and are in that realm with Magnus, but he's still one of the best, if not the best, on his day.
[36:40] SPEAKER_00: And so, okay, you don't think that Magnus will be exposed on this course?
[36:44] SPEAKER_00: Who do you think will?
[36:46] SPEAKER_00: Like, obviously, someone or multiple people are gonna be exposed on this bike course.
[36:50] SPEAKER_00: It's just so hard.
[36:52] SPEAKER_00: Put some put some names out there.
[36:53] SPEAKER_00: Who's gonna who's gonna get dropped?
[36:55] SPEAKER_00: Who are we gonna be questioning their bike riding going forward after this race?
[36:58] SPEAKER_00: Who's not gonna win on the weekend because they get dropped on the bike?
[37:01] SPEAKER_02: So I was looking at guys that really their strength is getting off and running really fast after, you know, being in the group or having those group dynamics play to their favour so they can get off the bike and unleash a really fast run.
[37:17] SPEAKER_02: So, you know, I might be proven wrong and I hope I am, but I think I think those guys that aren't quite as strong on the bike, um, someone like a like a bitter dos, I think, um, I think he's a guy that's a phenomenal runner and really excels in those races where um he can use those pack dynamics and get off and unleash that run, which is so, so, so good.
[37:40] SPEAKER_02: But I think a race like this, he might struggle.
[37:44] SPEAKER_02: Um, I think it's gonna be a strong man's race, right?
[37:47] SPEAKER_02: You're gonna have to be so good at all three, you're gonna have to be so strong on the climb.
[37:51] SPEAKER_02: Other guys that I think will be exposed.
[37:55] SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
[37:56] SPEAKER_02: Do you guys know how Cameron Main rides or how he um because he's had a really great year, and I think he's in that same realm as Bitterdoss is a really, really good runner, but I'm just not sure if his bike is up to scratch.
[38:08] SPEAKER_02: Do you guys have any insight on that?
[38:10] SPEAKER_00: So six months ago, a hundred percent.
[38:12] SPEAKER_00: That's a fact.
[38:13] SPEAKER_00: Maybe like six to twelve months ago, a bad cyclist for the level, but really good at staying in TT position, pretty good aerodynamics, um, good power to CDA.
[38:24] SPEAKER_00: And if it's like a 70.3 Geelong or a 70.3 oceanside where you can sit in a group, he's not getting dropped very easily.
[38:31] SPEAKER_00: But then he's been injured like most of the year.
[38:34] SPEAKER_00: He's had on and off run-related injuries, and so he's gone and got a new coach, and they've done crazy amounts of cycling.
[38:40] SPEAKER_00: Like he probably has cycled as much as any long course triathlet this year.
[38:44] SPEAKER_00: He leaves most of his stuff public on Strava.
[38:46] SPEAKER_00: If you want to go check out Cameron Main's Strava, um, he's ridden a lot and he's done a lot of sessions and a lot of hard riding.
[38:53] SPEAKER_00: I still think he's a guy who this course doesn't suit necessarily on the bike.
[38:57] SPEAKER_00: So I agree, Apo, he might be one who gets exposed, but definitely not as badly as what he would have six months ago or 12 months ago, he would have got dropped 100% on this course.
[39:07] SPEAKER_00: I guarantee it.
[39:08] SPEAKER_00: Whereas now I think at least he's a chance, but I don't think his run's going to be as strong as what it was at the start of the year in, say, Geelong or um, you know, when he's when he's won some European 70.3s.
[39:17] SPEAKER_02: Another name that springs to mind as well is Jason West, um, and probably the best runner in the field, in my opinion.
[39:25] SPEAKER_02: Like, um, but yeah, I just don't think this course suits him.
[39:29] SPEAKER_02: Jason's a phenomenal runner, and he had a great race at Augusta a few a few weeks ago, but I just think this bike is just too hard.
[39:35] SPEAKER_02: And like I said, it suits such a robust athlete that you just can't have any weakness on that bike.
[39:41] SPEAKER_02: And then I'm gonna say it, you guys were talking high on him before, but I think Crosciani as well.
[39:45] SPEAKER_02: I just think he's been focusing on the WTCS.
[39:49] SPEAKER_02: He hasn't had much time in the 70.3 circuit.
[39:52] SPEAKER_02: And I just think this is a baptism by fire, a race like this, and I think I think, yeah, those guys that haven't spent a lot of time TTing and honing that TT strength are gonna struggle.
[40:02] SPEAKER_02: Hidalgo, too.
[40:04] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Hidalgo, Fabian Kraft, those kind of guys.
[40:07] SPEAKER_03: I'm curious to see how we mentioned him before Dubrick goes, because he was I would say he typically would be exposed, right?
[40:13] SPEAKER_03: He's become a long way, he's come a long way in cycling, but he has been run injured, which means he probably upped his biking too.
[40:20] SPEAKER_03: So he's been two top tens in a row uh at 70.3 worlds.
[40:24] SPEAKER_03: So we know he can run well at the end.
[40:27] SPEAKER_03: I'm curious to see if he's exposed.
[40:29] SPEAKER_03: I feel like it's gonna be what level are people exposed, right?
[40:32] SPEAKER_03: Like, oh, I only lost a minute, oh, I lost eight minutes.
[40:35] SPEAKER_03: Like, at what level exposure are we gonna see?
[40:37] SPEAKER_03: And you know, if someone like Cameron Main cannot be exposed too much, then he can maybe run his way really high up and into the overall.
[40:45] SPEAKER_00: I just think it's the kind of course where there's gonna be gaps.
[40:48] SPEAKER_00: Like I know we've gotten so used at 70.3 world championships on the male side of things to things being one on the run.
[40:54] SPEAKER_00: Like the women's 70.3 world championships the last decade has been one on the on the bike.
[41:00] SPEAKER_00: And the men's hasn't been like that.
[41:01] SPEAKER_00: It's been a big draft fest, you get these massive deep fields, 12 meter draft zones, and more often than not, actually almost exclusively, there's just run groups and it's run battles.
[41:11] SPEAKER_00: But the the exception was the Rico Bogan one year.
[41:13] SPEAKER_00: But you know, like I think this is a year where we're gonna see that not happen and there'd be pretty big gaps and it'd be more like a T100 race in in how people trip feed into T2.
[41:24] SPEAKER_00: Um, I'm I'm kind of curious on how Christian Hoganhardt goes.
[41:28] SPEAKER_00: I know he's a really strong cyclist, but I do think he's better on TT heavy courses, like where aerodynamics play a massive role.
[41:35] SPEAKER_00: He's a watch this space.
[41:37] SPEAKER_00: Um and Rudy Von Berg's a watch this space for me.
[41:40] SPEAKER_00: Like I know you guys talked about certain parts of this course suiting him.
[41:44] SPEAKER_00: I just wonder if he has the pure power to go up the first climb with them.
[41:48] SPEAKER_00: If he's if he's at the top of the first climb in the group, Rudy's good.
[41:52] SPEAKER_00: The rest of the course suits Rudy as much as anyone.
[41:54] SPEAKER_00: I just think that's almost Rudy's finish line, the top of the main climb.
[41:58] SPEAKER_03: I'll throw one more name out and curious to hear you guys' thoughts.
[42:01] SPEAKER_03: Uh, Jackson Laundry.
[42:03] SPEAKER_03: And you know, he rides so, so well in his races and and has been training with the the Norwegian trio at altitude in the lead up to the race.
[42:11] SPEAKER_03: So his swim's a little bit of a question mark.
[42:14] SPEAKER_03: Can someone like that make up time on the front, or is that just not possible?
[42:19] SPEAKER_02: I think he can.
[42:19] SPEAKER_02: I've raced Jackson a lot this year, and you're you're right, Greg.
[42:22] SPEAKER_02: He's super, super strong.
[42:24] SPEAKER_02: But I think similar to Hogan Hague, like TT heavy or those rolling hills where you stay in the T T bars is where Jackson excels at.
[42:33] SPEAKER_02: Like he's got great power, um, he's got a good CDA.
[42:36] SPEAKER_02: I'm just not sure about this course for Jackson.
[42:40] SPEAKER_02: I think I think a more of a TT heavy rollier bike course suits him a lot more than something like this.
[42:46] SPEAKER_00: I'm curious about Jacko.
[42:48] SPEAKER_00: I I think training with the Norwegians is probably like a bit of a hack.
[42:51] SPEAKER_00: I'm sure he'll do better than what he would have if he didn't do that.
[42:53] SPEAKER_00: No doubt.
[42:54] SPEAKER_00: The group of them have been doing some really hard climbing in training.
[42:58] SPEAKER_00: I do think that that Jacko Laundry is more of a TT guy.
[43:02] SPEAKER_00: Don't know how he's gonna climb.
[43:03] SPEAKER_00: Especially because I foresee him climbing isolated.
[43:06] SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't think he's gonna be at the front of that swim group.
[43:09] SPEAKER_00: I think that would be quite crazy.
[43:11] SPEAKER_00: It's just whether he can come out with like Christian and Gustav and maybe even Casper, although I expect Casper to be a little bit further up, and whether he can just sit with those guys and go, well, I've trained with these guys.
[43:21] SPEAKER_00: I haven't been getting dropped by them in training.
[43:23] SPEAKER_00: Let me just stay with Christian, let him take me to the front of the race.
[43:26] SPEAKER_00: I think if that scenario plays out, Jacko Laundry can have a really good race.
[43:29] SPEAKER_00: Although not like a he's not gonna finish top five in my mind.
[43:32] SPEAKER_00: I don't think his runs where it needs to be after a year of injuries, but I do think he can get into T2 in a good position if he just holds on up the climb.
[43:39] SPEAKER_00: But if he gets dropped there, I think it's gonna be a long day for Jacko.
[43:43] SPEAKER_00: Um, I'll move us on to the run now.
[43:45] SPEAKER_00: Like I said earlier, men's IMAN 70.3 World Championships are almost exclusively won by whoever has the fastest run of the day.
[43:53] SPEAKER_00: So that's just how they go.
[43:54] SPEAKER_00: But there's a group that gets into T two, and then there's a run battle.
[43:57] SPEAKER_00: We saw it last year with the Hayden and Run battle.
[44:01] SPEAKER_00: Now, this is probably the first one in a while where we have the potential for something different to happen because of the bike course.
[44:08] SPEAKER_00: And the run course isn't easy either.
[44:10] SPEAKER_00: It's it's quite hot here in Marbella at that time of the day.
[44:13] SPEAKER_00: Like it's not crazy.
[44:14] SPEAKER_00: It's not what we saw for the women's race at Kona, but it's still quite hot.
[44:18] SPEAKER_00: It's still quite muggy.
[44:20] SPEAKER_00: The course is super technical.
[44:22] SPEAKER_00: Like it's it's kind of on this like dirt path along the beach where it's quite windy.
[44:26] SPEAKER_00: You do all these weird little U-turney out and back things.
[44:29] SPEAKER_00: It's not just like a straight highway where you run out and back and you can get into a rhythm.
[44:34] SPEAKER_00: So I think it's a really hard run course.
[44:36] SPEAKER_00: Like I don't, unless it's a bit short and I haven't gone and measured it fully, but like if it's a 21.1 or 21.2k run course at legit distance, it's not a fast run course for sure.
[44:48] SPEAKER_00: Um there's some like little punchy climbs and stuff as well, which I think will be quite hard.
[44:52] SPEAKER_00: And I think it might be a like who's the best runner of who's left, not just the fastest run wins you on the day.
[44:59] SPEAKER_00: So like the big question is can people like Yellagins get into T2 at the front of the race, or will they be gapped by some of the better riders like Rico Bogan, for example, or or your Nick Thompson's and and the like?
[45:12] SPEAKER_00: And will Christian Blumenfeld be there?
[45:14] SPEAKER_00: How's Gustav Eden running?
[45:16] SPEAKER_00: How's Kaspar Stoiner's running?
[45:17] SPEAKER_00: I think if guys like that get to the front of the race, then we'll see a run battle.
[45:21] SPEAKER_00: Like I don't think it's the kind of course where someone will just run off the front and and you won't see them again.
[45:26] SPEAKER_00: I think it's the kind of course where you might see a bit of a battle and people kind of like holding their cards, holding their cards, kind of what we saw at the Iron Man World Championships in Nice.
[45:35] SPEAKER_03: Now, do you think athletes are really going into it with a mindset like, okay, I might not be the best runner here, but if I can get to the bike in the top five, I can hold on to a top five.
[45:44] SPEAKER_03: Like these gaps are going to be big.
[45:46] SPEAKER_03: It seems like, you know, we just talked about someone like Jackson Laundry.
[45:48] SPEAKER_03: He's like, hey, maybe I'm not quite run fit.
[45:50] SPEAKER_03: I need to ride this, override this bike and get to the end.
[45:54] SPEAKER_03: And it, you know, remember T-100 racing kind of before Hayden?
[45:58] SPEAKER_03: These guys are running 325Ks to win the race because these bikes were so hard.
[46:02] SPEAKER_03: It seems like that's someone could run 111 and maybe win the race.
[46:07] SPEAKER_03: Would you say that's accurate?
[46:08] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think so.
[46:09] SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
[46:10] SPEAKER_02: Like you said, Jack, traditionally 70.3 worlds is won by the fastest run because we haven't in a few years haven't seen a course with this much elevation.
[46:19] SPEAKER_02: And I don't think there's going to be huge packs coming into T2 together.
[46:23] SPEAKER_02: I think it's going to be group like dribs and drabs, one person here, two people here, three people there.
[46:28] SPEAKER_02: And I think if you can get to the front and dominate the bike, I think you can get off and run, yeah, 111 and be up there with the win or a podium.
[46:38] SPEAKER_02: I think the fastest runs are going to come from guys that are further down, like the Jason Wests or things like that.
[46:44] SPEAKER_02: I just think those really fast runners, like Bitter DOS as well, I think they're going to run really well, but I think they're just going to lose too much time on the bike that the fastest run is not going to win the race.
[46:55] SPEAKER_00: For me, there's two guys.
[46:56] SPEAKER_00: There's two guys that everyone else in the race needs to get rid of in the bike.
[47:01] SPEAKER_00: Yala Geans and Christian Blumenveld.
[47:04] SPEAKER_00: They're the two best runners in this field, in my opinion.
[47:06] SPEAKER_00: I think they're better than Jason West, Bitteros, Cameron Main, you name it.
[47:10] SPEAKER_00: I think they're the two best runners in this field.
[47:13] SPEAKER_00: Now, if they're into T2 at the front of the race with like Rico and Nick Thompson and maybe Gustav and Kasper, good luck.
[47:22] SPEAKER_00: Good luck.
[47:22] SPEAKER_00: I think you're running for third because I think Christian and Yalla are going to compete against each other, not give each other an inch and get away from the rest of the field.
[47:31] SPEAKER_00: But if you are someone like Jonas Schomberg or Jamie Riddle or yeah, like Nick Thompson, I just think you've almost got to get together and be like, what can we do to get rid of Yalla and Christian?
[47:44] SPEAKER_00: Because we're not beating them.
[47:46] SPEAKER_00: Like Nick Thompson is a good runner, but he's not beating Yalla and Christian if he comes into T2 rhythm.
[47:51] SPEAKER_00: Jonas Schomburg, great runner, not beating Christian and Yalla if he comes into T2 rhythm.
[47:57] SPEAKER_00: I'm even going to go out and limit on a limb and say that like Casper, the Iron Man World Champion, I don't think he's beating Yalla and Christian if he comes into T2 rhythm.
[48:05] SPEAKER_00: I might, you know, maybe Gustav can, but again, I'm hearing maybe he's not as his best, but who knows?
[48:10] SPEAKER_00: It's the Norwegian, the glove method's full of mystery.
[48:12] SPEAKER_00: He could be the fittest person in the world right now.
[48:14] SPEAKER_00: So take that with a grain of salt.
[48:16] SPEAKER_00: But I just think that if you're Rico, if you're Nick Thompson, if you're guys like that, Schomburg, Riddle, you gotta do everything you can to drop Yallagans and Christian Blumenfeld because this run course is made for them.
[48:27] SPEAKER_00: And if they're there, they're gonna win it.
[48:29] SPEAKER_00: It's just it's just which one of them.
[48:30] SPEAKER_02: Rico has been he hasn't been running that great this year.
[48:33] SPEAKER_02: He did have a couple of good runs.
[48:35] SPEAKER_02: I think he ran well at um at San Fran.
[48:37] SPEAKER_02: But outside of that, his run hasn't been as good as it has in the past.
[48:41] SPEAKER_02: And I think he's thinking, I want to get to T2 alone by myself with a buffer on these fast runners if I want to win this race.
[48:48] SPEAKER_02: So I think someone look for someone like Rico to come into T2 first to do to get a gap on guys like um yeah, like Christian, like Yeller, and all those other faster runners.
[48:58] SPEAKER_03: It seems like Rico doesn't run that different, no matter I mean, he rides hard all the time, right?
[49:04] SPEAKER_03: But if he has a gap here, you know, these guys in the back, they can't save themselves as much, right?
[49:10] SPEAKER_03: They're not sitting in a pack.
[49:11] SPEAKER_03: Remember that one race this year, I forget what it was, the Iron Man race, he had like a six-minute lead and he got run down.
[49:15] SPEAKER_03: I think by Cam Main, right?
[49:17] SPEAKER_03: But if he has a six-minute lead in this race, he's not getting run down.
[49:20] SPEAKER_03: These guys aren't gonna be able to save themselves as much.
[49:22] SPEAKER_03: So I think that's super true.
[49:24] SPEAKER_03: I I didn't really think like Rico had a shot to win, but if Rico went and won this race because he had a three-minute lead off the bike and ran 111, I just I wouldn't be that surprised.
[49:33] SPEAKER_03: I think this it could really suit him this type of racing.
[49:37] SPEAKER_00: I'm a little worried about him in these conditions.
[49:39] SPEAKER_00: Like it's not hot.
[49:40] SPEAKER_00: It's not like brutally hot.
[49:41] SPEAKER_00: And I know that he did what he did in Dubai last year, where it's like, okay, maybe he is just good in the heat now, but uh, we've seen again this year the heat's exposed him a couple of times.
[49:51] SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
[49:51] SPEAKER_00: I just worry about the bike being so hard at being 90k, not 80, the run being 21, not 18.
[49:58] SPEAKER_00: I just think that potentially things could get a bit big and a bit long and a bit hot on Rico.
[50:04] SPEAKER_00: And yes, I definitely see a world where he could come into T2 in the lead.
[50:08] SPEAKER_00: Like if he's at the top of the climb in that front group, have fun holding on to him.
[50:12] SPEAKER_00: He's gonna make it hard hard for everyone on the on the back half of the bike.
[50:16] SPEAKER_00: But yeah, I just I just still think that people like Christian and Yalla can run three or four minutes into him pretty comfortably if they're on a day and things have gotten a little bit hot and a bit hard for him.
[50:26] SPEAKER_00: But I'm with you.
[50:27] SPEAKER_00: Like, I think that this bike course can just become chaos so that it does open the door for a bit of a surprise winner, whether it is a a Casper doing the double or a Nick Thompson or a Jonas Schomburg or a Rico Bogan.
[50:39] SPEAKER_00: I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that Yala and Christian hold on, even though I do think they're probably still the two big favorites.
[50:45] SPEAKER_03: Has anyone circled this race at the beginning of the year and said this is my number one?
[50:50] SPEAKER_03: There's just so much racing this year, right?
[50:52] SPEAKER_03: So I'm just curious, like, is Yella did he go into this season thinking this is my race or is it T100, right?
[50:58] SPEAKER_03: Because everyone else seemed to have other plans.
[51:01] SPEAKER_03: But if Yella has been like, I want to defend my world title, he's put all his eggs into this or his, you know, his effort and his mental energy, yeah, good luck.
[51:09] SPEAKER_03: But it seems like everyone else on the start list, you know, who's a who's a hitter, kind of had other plans as as A races for the year.
[51:17] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think, well, for Yala, yes, this is his A race, Greg.
[51:20] SPEAKER_00: This is if he could win one thing this year, it's this.
[51:22] SPEAKER_00: And not to disrespect the T100, because Yala actually really cares about the T100, which I was surprised to find out.
[51:29] SPEAKER_00: I thought maybe he was a collecting a check, but he's not.
[51:31] SPEAKER_00: He actually really cares about it.
[51:32] SPEAKER_00: And if I was a betting man, I'd probably bet he does all the T100 races next year as well.
[51:36] SPEAKER_00: But this has been the one race that he's eyed off all year.
[51:40] SPEAKER_00: He wants to be a two-time 70.3 world champ.
[51:42] SPEAKER_00: He actually wants to be a three-time 70.3 world champ.
[51:45] SPEAKER_00: So I think of all the people in the field, this is probably he's probably the one person who could have honestly said that this was the only race they cared about.
[51:54] SPEAKER_00: Because Christian, you look at now, after he finished third at the worlds, and you have to assume that he's gone all in for this and he's super motivated.
[52:01] SPEAKER_00: But if you gave him a choice at the start of the year, he was winning Nice, not this, wasn't he?
[52:05] SPEAKER_02: 100%.
[52:06] SPEAKER_02: Yell has called his shot pretty early in the year that this was his main target.
[52:10] SPEAKER_02: So yeah, he's been racing well this year, and I think I think he's probably the favourite in my eyes.
[52:15] SPEAKER_00: Well, I guess that that leads us into it.
[52:17] SPEAKER_00: Let's maybe let's all go out on a limb and say who our favourite is, who at this early stage, knowing that we're all allowed to change our minds 15 times throughout the Daily Pod series, right now as it stands, who is your favorite to win?
[52:29] SPEAKER_02: Yonis.
[52:31] SPEAKER_02: I just said yellow, but I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna choose Christian.
[52:36] SPEAKER_02: I meant yellow in as is the favorite in terms of general, you know, he's the general favorite.
[52:43] SPEAKER_02: But my favorite to win, I think, Christian.
[52:45] SPEAKER_02: I I just think he's so hungry for it.
[52:48] SPEAKER_02: And he was he's come out and said that he's pretty disappointed with third at Nice, and he doesn't want another podium.
[52:54] SPEAKER_02: He wants to win, and he's a winner, and yeah, I think I think he's gonna get it done.
[52:59] SPEAKER_03: I don't know if you've heard of this gentleman.
[53:01] SPEAKER_03: I've talked about him before on the podcast.
[53:04] SPEAKER_03: And when I see his name on the star list, something inside me, it just it starts flickering, and I'm gonna have to go Jonas Schoenberg is gonna be your 70.3 Iron Man world champion.
[53:15] SPEAKER_03: My man.
[53:16] SPEAKER_03: He's light, he's hungry.
[53:18] SPEAKER_03: Okay, he faded in Nice on the back half of the bike.
[53:20] SPEAKER_03: Guess what?
[53:21] SPEAKER_03: It's half the distance.
[53:22] SPEAKER_03: He's gonna run out of T2 like he's a man-possessed at 105 pace, and then he'll fade to 112 pace, and he'll run 109, and he'll win the race.
[53:31] SPEAKER_03: So that's uh that's my man out there.
[53:33] SPEAKER_03: That's how we do.
[53:34] SPEAKER_00: I don't hate it.
[53:35] SPEAKER_00: Uh for me, Christian Blumenveld's a pretender, and Yalla Gaines is a contender.
[53:40] SPEAKER_00: Yellow Geans is my big favourite.
[53:42] SPEAKER_00: I think the Norwegian quartet, I bet you they've been going to bed at night the last few weeks scared of a little Belgium called Yellow Gines, a little five foot three man who could potentially outrun them all on the on the right day, I think.
[53:55] SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, I think Yalla's got the Norwegians all feeling like pretenders, and he's the big favourite.
[54:00] SPEAKER_00: Um, on the flip side, boys, maybe we all go out in a limb.
[54:04] SPEAKER_00: This is a bit harsh, but it's what we we do on the daily pods.
[54:06] SPEAKER_00: We we we create enemies.
[54:08] SPEAKER_00: Go out in a limb and predict a big name who's gonna have a bad day.
[54:12] SPEAKER_02: Ooh.
[54:17] SPEAKER_02: Rico Bogan.
[54:18] SPEAKER_02: He just hasn't I don't have the confidence in his run.
[54:21] SPEAKER_02: I just think I think he'll be there in T2, but yeah, I think he's gonna fade on the run.
[54:27] SPEAKER_02: Sorry, Rico, if you're listening.
[54:29] SPEAKER_03: I had a name written down, but I'm gonna double down.
[54:33] SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna come out and say it.
[54:34] SPEAKER_03: I do not think a single Norwegian will be on the podium.
[54:39] SPEAKER_03: And I'd picked I'd picked Gustav to have a bad race, but I think the Norwegians, like you said, Jack and these are pretenders, and I don't think we'll see either any of them feature at the front of this race.
[54:48] SPEAKER_00: Greg, you remember what happened at the Iron Man World Championships at Nice, right?
[54:51] SPEAKER_00: You remember how I declared that Christian wasn't gonna finish on the podium?
[54:55] SPEAKER_00: In fact, he'd walk the marathon and DNF, and we put them as the second best country in the race behind Germany, and then Germany was shit, and they all finished first, second, third, Norwegians clean sweep of the podium.
[55:05] SPEAKER_00: You remember that?
[55:06] SPEAKER_00: That was only a few weeks ago we went through this exact same thing.
[55:09] SPEAKER_03: You know how it is, Jack?
[55:10] SPEAKER_03: The Norwegian method's now dead, okay?
[55:12] SPEAKER_03: Things things change quick.
[55:13] SPEAKER_03: Keep up, all right?
[55:14] SPEAKER_03: Norwegians not on the podium.
[55:16] SPEAKER_00: Greg, since that they then went and won the women's world championships, too.
[55:24] SPEAKER_03: Wait, Solvik racing, by the way?
[55:25] SPEAKER_03: She isn't, right?
[55:26] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Solvik's racing.
[55:28] SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay, sweet.
[55:29] SPEAKER_03: She'll win, obviously.
[55:30] SPEAKER_03: But the men, nah, they're out.
[55:32] SPEAKER_00: We'll get onto the women's race in detail tomorrow.
[55:35] SPEAKER_00: Uh, I think Magnus did live.
[55:37] SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
[55:37] SPEAKER_00: I don't think this course suits Magnus.
[55:39] SPEAKER_00: I just think when you have momentum on your side, like Jan Fredino talks about, it's the best thing, but it's also the worst thing when my momentum isn't on your side.
[55:48] SPEAKER_00: And I reckon 2025 is a year that Magnus just needs to put in the rearview mirror.
[55:52] SPEAKER_00: He needs to get this race done.
[55:54] SPEAKER_00: Probably not going to have a great race, have a big preseason, a good off-season, and then come into 2026 firing.
[56:01] SPEAKER_00: That's that's my thing.
[56:01] SPEAKER_00: I think Kona 2026 has to be Magnus's big goal.
[56:05] SPEAKER_00: And I'm just a bit worried that yeah, the the negative momentum of the year isn't gonna just magically change itself around and that we might see a non-Magnus day on the weekend.
[56:18] SPEAKER_00: I think we all know by now that fueling your training and racing has become such a massive part of getting the most out of yourself as an athlete.
[56:25] SPEAKER_00: And if you're someone who doesn't realize that or knows it but still does a lot of faster training or just wings your day-to-day training nutrition, or even worse, your racing nutrition, then you need to stop doing that.
[56:36] SPEAKER_00: And the best way for you to fuel your training and racing is using precision, fuel, and hydration.
[56:41] SPEAKER_00: Precision's PF90, PF30, PF30 caffeine, and flow gel are the best gels on the market.
[56:46] SPEAKER_00: They taste great.
[56:47] SPEAKER_00: Their texture is incredible, unlike almost every other gel I've used.
[56:50] SPEAKER_00: And the packaging they come in is just so easy to use, which is low-key a huge benefit.
[56:55] SPEAKER_00: They also have energy chews, which are a nice mix-up from gels and honestly probably taste even better than gels.
[57:01] SPEAKER_00: They're really easy to use on the bike or out on a long run.
[57:04] SPEAKER_00: They're just a great mix-up.
[57:05] SPEAKER_00: They also have a carbohydrate drink mix, which is great to use on the bike, or if you've got someone riding next to you while you do a long run, or just to have on pool deck while you swim.
[57:15] SPEAKER_00: It's an awesome option for that.
[57:17] SPEAKER_00: Precision, they just make the best training and racing nutrition on the market.
[57:21] SPEAKER_00: There's not even a close second, in my opinion.
[57:22] SPEAKER_00: So if you're using other brands, at least give precision a try because I think you'll like them more and you'll realize why they're literally taking over the triton fueling market.
[57:32] SPEAKER_00: It's not because they spend a heap of dollars marketing, because they really don't compare to some other big brands.
[57:38] SPEAKER_00: It's just because their stuff is the best.
[57:39] SPEAKER_00: So try it for yourself.
[57:41] SPEAKER_00: Head over to Precision Fuel and Hydration's website and use the discount code TTH25 for 15% off your first order.
[57:50] SPEAKER_00: Okay.
[57:50] SPEAKER_00: With that being said, with with I was going to say with three enemies created, but it's actually the three Norwegians plus Magnus uh plus Rico.
[57:58] SPEAKER_00: So when we were all going this post list one name, we've managed to create uh five new enemies.
[58:04] SPEAKER_00: Um with that being said, we're gonna wrap up the show with your Spotify comments from last week's episode.
[58:09] SPEAKER_00: Now, like I said off the top of the show, with the daily pods, we start every episode with the Spotify comments, but that starts tomorrow.
[58:16] SPEAKER_00: So if you've like want to discuss anything that you've heard on today's episode, go over to Spotify, chuck it in the comments, and we'll start tomorrow's show with the Spotify comments, and then we'll do a deep dive on the women's race before wrapping it up.
[58:27] SPEAKER_00: But uh, let's let's go back to rewind to last week's episode and and we'll finish with your Spotify comments from that.
[58:34] SPEAKER_00: I'll start us off.
[58:35] SPEAKER_00: Jamie D says the fuck Mary Kill last week was too easy for Greg.
[58:41] SPEAKER_00: Make it a bit trickier.
[58:43] SPEAKER_00: So, Greg, fuck Mary Kill.
[58:45] SPEAKER_00: Alistair Brownley, Matt Hauser, Jonas Schomberg.
[58:50] SPEAKER_03: This is it's Jamie D.
[58:52] SPEAKER_03: You're a mean man.
[58:54] SPEAKER_03: All right, this is way too hard.
[58:56] SPEAKER_03: But I've given it some thought.
[58:58] SPEAKER_03: Jack actually let me read this uh a few days ago, so I've been thinking about it for a few days, dreaming about it, dreaming about these boys, and I've come to the conclusion that I'm going to kill Jonas Schomberg, fuck Alistair Brownley, and marry Matt Hauser.
[59:16] SPEAKER_03: You know, Jonas, I just think the language barrier a little bit for me and him, you know.
[59:20] SPEAKER_03: So I think Alistair, you he we've seen him what he can do on a one-day stage, so you know he's gonna be on that good for that one night.
[59:27] SPEAKER_03: Um and uh Matt Hauser just, you know, cool, calm, collected Aussie, cracking jokes your whole marriage.
[59:34] SPEAKER_03: I mean, sounds sounds peachy.
[59:36] SPEAKER_03: Um we got Coco Conis says, I only watched Lionel's YouTube videos for the rants.
[59:47] SPEAKER_03: I never even knew they were supposed to be advice.
[59:50] SPEAKER_03: Well, Apo takes his training from Lionel, so what do you have to say about that, Apo?
[59:56] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, I think we all love Lionel here, but you're not watching them for advice, right?
[1:00:01] SPEAKER_02: And I don't think many people are taking advice from Lionel's YouTube video.
[1:00:04] SPEAKER_02: I think that's wrong though.
[1:00:06] SPEAKER_03: I think it's like yeah, I think there's plenty of people, maybe not like pros, but honestly, I find myself sometimes like, well, Lionel said this.
[1:00:13] SPEAKER_03: Or I'm like, no, Greg, no, don't do, don't do that.
[1:00:16] SPEAKER_00: No, I reckon even pros, Greg.
[1:00:17] SPEAKER_00: I don't know if anyone's had more bike sessions copied by age groupers and put pros than Lionel.
[1:00:23] SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't know how many people have watched his video and watched one of his sessions and gone and tried it, but it's more than any other triathlete in the history of Trithon.
[1:00:31] SPEAKER_00: I I bet all of the money I ever have ever owned on that.
[1:00:34] SPEAKER_02: Well, I didn't try Lionel sessions because he was doing like five-minute intervals at my one-minute VO2, so that's why I didn't try Lionel sessions.
[1:00:44] SPEAKER_02: All right.
[1:01:00] SPEAKER_02: So maybe we can uh we can come up with something.
[1:01:02] SPEAKER_00: What about this?
[1:01:03] SPEAKER_00: What about this as a promise?
[1:01:04] SPEAKER_00: Do you guys commit to this now?
[1:01:06] SPEAKER_00: On the last episode of the Daily Pods, we do our first after hours pod.
[1:01:11] SPEAKER_03: Okay.
[1:01:11] SPEAKER_03: I'm in.
[1:01:12] SPEAKER_03: Cool.
[1:01:12] SPEAKER_03: All right.
[1:01:13] SPEAKER_03: Hopefully Vicki's back.
[1:01:14] SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
[1:01:15] SPEAKER_00: By the way, guys, uh, this is probably a good time to know to say this.
[1:01:18] SPEAKER_00: We should have said this off the top of the show.
[1:01:19] SPEAKER_01: Yeah, right.
[1:01:22] SPEAKER_00: But Vicki Holland isn't here.
[1:01:24] SPEAKER_00: Our fourth uh and by far best in terms of quality opinions and looks, uh, host is not here.
[1:01:30] SPEAKER_00: So Vicky, uh, I know she'll be listening.
[1:01:33] SPEAKER_00: So Vicki shout out um she had uh a little daughter, a little daughter Rose.
[1:01:38] SPEAKER_00: Um so congratulations, Vicky and husband Reese.
[1:01:42] SPEAKER_00: Uh, but because of that, obviously, with a newborn and a second child as well, things are pretty busy in the Holland household, which is a big household, by the way.
[1:01:51] SPEAKER_00: Massive, massive house because Vicky is incredibly rich.
[1:01:54] SPEAKER_00: Uh, but yeah, share that to Vicki.
[1:01:57] SPEAKER_00: And it's uh the pot is way worse for Vicky not being on here.
[1:02:00] SPEAKER_00: So us three will try and manage without her.
[1:02:02] SPEAKER_00: We're gonna get some guests on throughout the week as well, but none of them can replace Vicky because, like I said, she is the best part of this podcast.
[1:02:08] SPEAKER_00: But as soon as things have settled down with Vicky on the home front, she's gonna be back uh in your ears.
[1:02:13] SPEAKER_00: So yeah, but if you guys wanted to reach out to Vicki, Vicky Holland on on Instagram, then just give her a search, send her a message, uh, congratulate her on the successful uh birth of her healthy daughter Rose.
[1:02:24] SPEAKER_02: Congrats, Vicky.
[1:02:25] SPEAKER_02: Yay.
[1:02:29] SPEAKER_00: And uh my next comment, Charlie Grozcup 10 says, There should be a segment where Apo rates movie/slash indoor training session pairings, kind of like cheese and wine pairings.
[1:02:43] SPEAKER_00: So Apo, do you like this?
[1:02:45] SPEAKER_00: Like, do you do you often watch movies while you're on the indoor trainer or on the treadmill?
[1:02:50] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, um, that's actually a big reason why I love indoor indoor riding, because I've got a three-year-old, so I don't get much time.
[1:02:57] SPEAKER_02: You know, he goes to bed around 8 30, so by the time he gets to bed and I've cleaned the kitchen and everything, it's too late for me to watch a movie.
[1:03:04] SPEAKER_02: So I like to do indoor riding and watch all the movies.
[1:03:06] SPEAKER_02: That's where I do the bulk of my of my viewing.
[1:03:09] SPEAKER_02: So uh yeah, that's a good idea.
[1:03:11] SPEAKER_00: Just quickly, if you were to watch one movie tomorrow while you did a three-hour easy indoor ride, what movie would be your go-to?
[1:03:20] SPEAKER_03: Christopher Nolan.
[1:03:21] SPEAKER_03: Something like that.
[1:03:22] SPEAKER_02: I mean, yeah, Christopher Nolan's always a good one.
[1:03:24] SPEAKER_02: I mean, I I said off the top of the show, one of my favourite movies is um No Country for Old Men.
[1:03:29] SPEAKER_02: There will be blood.
[1:03:30] SPEAKER_02: That's another uh another classic.
[1:03:32] SPEAKER_02: So yeah, maybe one of those.
[1:03:34] SPEAKER_02: Have you seen Bring It On?
[1:03:36] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I've seen the cheerleading movie.
[1:03:38] SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
[1:03:38] SPEAKER_03: Of course.
[1:03:39] SPEAKER_03: Another really good one.
[1:03:41] SPEAKER_00: That's a question.
[1:03:42] SPEAKER_00: Qu a question without notice.
[1:03:44] SPEAKER_00: What's your obviously Greg's with Legally Blonde 1 and 2, which is crazy by the way.
[1:03:49] SPEAKER_00: But Apple, what's your guilty pleasure movie that you wish people didn't know you loved, but you really love?
[1:03:54] SPEAKER_02: So I'm a I like um it's more of a genre than a specific movie, but um kind of like those dumb like uh like creature movies like um, you know, The Meg or something like that, or the Meg 2, the trench, you know, like big sharks or big uh big alligators eating people.
[1:04:16] SPEAKER_02: That's a bit of a guilty pleasure.
[1:04:18] SPEAKER_02: They're good ones for the trainer as well, because you don't really need to pay attention.
[1:04:21] SPEAKER_02: You're just there for the uh for the gory uh the gory killings.
[1:04:25] SPEAKER_00: Like snakes on a plane?
[1:04:26] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's yeah, it's pretty good.
[1:04:28] SPEAKER_02: All those dumb movies, they're a bit of a guilty pleasure.
[1:04:30] SPEAKER_02: Anaconda?
[1:04:31] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, anaconda.
[1:04:33] SPEAKER_02: On which uh on which uh on Netflix or the one on the incognito?
[1:04:41] SPEAKER_00: For me, Apo, I love the proposal.
[1:04:44] SPEAKER_00: If you haven't watched the proposal.
[1:04:46] SPEAKER_00: I won't watch the proposal.
[1:04:47] SPEAKER_00: Feel good movie of the century, I reckon.
[1:04:49] SPEAKER_02: Tamana Mohi says, Can we talk about when Jack is going to get his Apo tattoo?
[1:04:54] SPEAKER_02: Jack, do you care to update the audience on uh on the tattoo?
[1:04:58] SPEAKER_00: So we were talking about this the other day, Apo.
[1:05:00] SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna come and visit you in January and we're gonna do a ski trip where I'm gonna um sleep on your couch for a week and we're gonna go skiing every day.
[1:05:07] SPEAKER_00: I was thinking that maybe that's when we do it, we book in uh a visit to the tattoo parlour, but I also wanted to maybe just float the idea quickly.
[1:05:15] SPEAKER_00: I'm committed to doing that.
[1:05:16] SPEAKER_00: I will get the tattoo when I come and visit you and hang out in January.
[1:05:19] SPEAKER_00: However, is there a chance that if I can make a juicy enough bet this week that you might do a double or nothing bet with me on the tattoo?
[1:05:29] SPEAKER_02: I mean, I I wouldn't rule it out if you uh yeah.
[1:05:34] SPEAKER_02: I mean, I'm open to it.
[1:05:35] SPEAKER_02: I'm open to it.
[1:05:36] SPEAKER_00: Okay.
[1:05:37] SPEAKER_00: I'll I'll let that percolate.
[1:05:38] SPEAKER_00: I'll come up with a bet that's juicy enough.
[1:05:40] SPEAKER_00: Imagine if I had to get Apo on both ass cheeks.
[1:05:46] SPEAKER_03: All right.
[1:05:47] SPEAKER_03: Donald says, Does Greg even race or does he just sit there judging everyone else?
[1:05:54] SPEAKER_03: It's a fair point.
[1:05:55] SPEAKER_03: But I'm not judging, I'm just speaking my opinion, by the way.
[1:05:59] SPEAKER_03: There's no judgment here.
[1:06:00] SPEAKER_03: Here.
[1:06:00] SPEAKER_03: I love everyone.
[1:06:01] SPEAKER_03: Um, and Donald, if you would ever like to strap on the boots and come race me personally, I'd welcome it.
[1:06:07] SPEAKER_00: Or 1v1 Donald versus Greg.
[1:06:09] SPEAKER_00: That that would be good.
[1:06:10] SPEAKER_03: Any discipline, any sport, any discipline on the basketball court, sure.
[1:06:15] SPEAKER_00: Levu, I've I've seen this guy comment.
[1:06:18] SPEAKER_00: Uh you know, I've talked to him on the Instagram DMs too, I think.
[1:06:21] SPEAKER_00: Never known how to say his name, so I'm gonna butcher this.
[1:06:23] SPEAKER_00: But Levu Yo Benghazi says, gents, your ideas are just opinions.
[1:06:29] SPEAKER_00: You don't have all the answers for the T100.
[1:06:32] SPEAKER_00: Take a pillar pill and chill, Jack.
[1:06:36] SPEAKER_00: Well, Benghazi, that's when you're wrong.
[1:06:39] SPEAKER_00: We do have all the answers.
[1:06:40] SPEAKER_00: We have already figured out the T 100's problems with adequate solutions that would fix the entire company's direction for the foreseeable future.
[1:06:48] SPEAKER_00: Whether they or you choose to listen or not is completely up to them and you.
[1:06:52] SPEAKER_00: But we think we've got it all figured out.
[1:06:54] SPEAKER_03: I agree.
[1:06:55] SPEAKER_03: Alright, Jack Hugh says, Greg, I hear a poem that made me think of you.
[1:07:01] SPEAKER_03: Baldy Baldy over there.
[1:07:03] SPEAKER_03: What's it like to have no hair?
[1:07:06] SPEAKER_03: Is it hot or is it cold?
[1:07:09] SPEAKER_03: I don't know because I'm not bald.
[1:07:12] SPEAKER_03: Wow.
[1:07:13] SPEAKER_03: A Robert Frost original.
[1:07:15] SPEAKER_03: Just incredible.
[1:07:16] SPEAKER_03: One of the best poems I've ever heard.
[1:07:18] SPEAKER_03: Uh might get it framed and put on my wall.
[1:07:21] SPEAKER_03: Thank you, Jack.
[1:07:22] SPEAKER_03: Thank you.
[1:07:25] SPEAKER_02: The Wednesday The Wednesday one says In the name of investigative journalism, clean sport and science, the pod needs to conduct a trial to test if it's actually possible to inseminate someone with ligandroll.
[1:07:39] SPEAKER_02: Clearly, Apo and Greg shouldn't be taking ligandrel, willingly or willingly inseminated by someone taking it.
[1:07:46] SPEAKER_02: So Jack, this responsibility must fall to you.
[1:07:49] SPEAKER_02: Time to take one for the team.
[1:07:50] SPEAKER_02: Clean sport and journal journalistic integrity.
[1:07:54] SPEAKER_02: So Jack, will you submit to getting inseminated with um someone that takes ligandrel?
[1:08:01] SPEAKER_00: Oh, I feel like after all of the glove discussion, how we've talked about other people having gloves put up their um rectal area, that it would be kind of a double standard if we weren't willing to have things put inside us for the purposes of science.
[1:08:15] SPEAKER_00: So I feel like I can't say no to having some ligandrel inseminated inside of my bodily orifices.
[1:08:23] SPEAKER_00: Um I don't know though, because it would just depend on who's going to do it.
[1:08:28] SPEAKER_03: Well, Imogen boyfriend is uh they're he's single now, right?
[1:08:32] SPEAKER_03: So that should work out.
[1:08:34] SPEAKER_00: I just feel like he's the wrong person.
[1:08:36] SPEAKER_00: Like he's probably been through a tough year as well.
[1:08:38] SPEAKER_00: I don't want to put him through another 12 months of of the same thing.
[1:08:42] SPEAKER_00: So maybe I'd pick someone not Imogen's ex-boyfriend.
[1:08:45] SPEAKER_00: Uh I don't know who.
[1:08:47] SPEAKER_00: I don't know who.
[1:08:48] SPEAKER_00: Maybe maybe the guy who who start started the fight with that 16-year-old kid at the Noosa Trithon Festival on the weekend.
[1:08:55] SPEAKER_00: Maybe if he wants to take some Legandrel, it looks like maybe he's a bit a bit aggressive, maybe he's already got some in him already.
[1:09:01] SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he's definitely already juiced up.
[1:09:05] SPEAKER_03: Alright.
[1:09:05] SPEAKER_03: Damien Oliver says, Greg, what the fuck, man?
[1:09:09] SPEAKER_03: Legally blonde is your favorite movie?
[1:09:11] SPEAKER_03: I think the boys miss an opportunity to take the piss.
[1:09:14] SPEAKER_03: Absolutely love it.
[1:09:15] SPEAKER_03: Now, I want to defend myself.
[1:09:16] SPEAKER_03: Jack didn't ask us what our favorite movies were.
[1:09:19] SPEAKER_03: He just says, What are some movies that you would show to someone?
[1:09:21] SPEAKER_03: And I'd brought that up.
[1:09:23] SPEAKER_03: So it's not one of my three favorite movies, although it is very good.
[1:09:28] SPEAKER_03: It's his fourth.
[1:09:30] SPEAKER_00: Alright, boys, I'll finish his off here.
[1:09:32] SPEAKER_00: Uh Paul Ravinsky says, Hayden Wilde also wears an Apple Watch.
[1:09:37] SPEAKER_00: The Ultra, but still an Apple Watch watch.
[1:09:40] SPEAKER_00: This was in uh in reference to Cam Worth wearing an Apple Watch and accidentally uploading his yoga that he does on his Apple Watch to Strava and not realizing that he was doing it.
[1:09:50] SPEAKER_00: Um so I thought I'd bring a fuck Mary Kill to all three of us to finish the show.
[1:09:55] SPEAKER_00: So fuck Mary Kill boys.
[1:09:57] SPEAKER_00: Wearing an Apple Watch in the race on the run, wearing super shoes for an easy jog, and wearing a road bike helmet in races while on a T bike.
[1:10:07] SPEAKER_00: Fuck Mary Kill.
[1:10:09] SPEAKER_02: I'll marry super shoes for easy jogs.
[1:10:11] SPEAKER_02: I'm not I like super shoes for easy running.
[1:10:14] SPEAKER_02: I think it makes running fun, you know?
[1:10:16] SPEAKER_02: I think it's uh I think that's perfectly fine.
[1:10:19] SPEAKER_02: I would kill wearing road bike helmets in races on a TT.
[1:10:25] SPEAKER_02: And I would spend a nice quality evening with an Apple Watch.
[1:10:31] SPEAKER_03: Um I'm gonna kill wearing super shoes for easy jogs because I think that's bad for your health long term, and I think Apple would make a terrible traff on coach.
[1:10:40] SPEAKER_02: Um they protect your uh muscles nice and soft.
[1:10:44] SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and then your foot tendons like go to shit.
[1:10:46] SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
[1:10:46] SPEAKER_03: I don't know the signs behind it, but it doesn't seem safe to me.
[1:10:49] SPEAKER_03: Um wearing road bike TT helmet or wearing a road helmet and a TT bike, I'll marry that because you know, Kona, cooling, it's good.
[1:10:57] SPEAKER_03: That's a good idea.
[1:10:58] SPEAKER_03: And yeah, I'll spend a night with an Apple Watch.
[1:11:01] SPEAKER_03: Whatever.
[1:11:03] SPEAKER_00: I'm uh I'm killing the road bike helmet on a TT bike.
[1:11:08] SPEAKER_00: No excuse for it.
[1:11:09] SPEAKER_00: Don't do it, looks bad, isn't any cooler, isn't any faster.
[1:11:13] SPEAKER_00: Just a terrible idea, full stop.
[1:11:15] SPEAKER_00: So killing that.
[1:11:16] SPEAKER_00: Uh I'm gonna have sex with super shoes on easy jogs, unprotected sex, um, not always safe, but risky and fun.
[1:11:24] SPEAKER_00: And then I'm gonna marry an Apple Watch because I know that we're pretty niche here in the trython and running space where Apple Watches are frowned upon, but for the general population, Apple Watches slap.
[1:11:35] SPEAKER_00: Like Apple Watches get a lot of 50-year-old women incredibly fit by counting their step, uh their steps day to day.
[1:11:40] SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I think Apple Watch is actually quite safe and reliable.
[1:11:44] SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna marry them.
[1:11:45] SPEAKER_00: Uh weird that we're marrying fucking and killing inanimate objects, but I guess that's the direction of the trifle on our daily pods.
[1:11:51] SPEAKER_00: All right, boys.
[1:11:52] SPEAKER_00: Uh, that's episode one of the uh daily pods on the road to the Iron Man 70.3 World Championships here in Marbella, done and dusted.
[1:12:01] SPEAKER_00: Like I said, uh, if you want to get involved, head over to Spotify, leave a comment, take the piss out of Apo or Greg, not me, please.
[1:12:08] SPEAKER_00: Uh give us an opinion, give us something to debate on tomorrow's show to start things off, or say something funny.
[1:12:14] SPEAKER_00: That's uh that's a probably a bit of a hack to get yourself on here.
[1:12:17] SPEAKER_00: No more poems about Greg being bald, though.
[1:12:20] SPEAKER_00: Uh, we're also gonna get um get some guests on.
[1:12:23] SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna give away which guests, but we've got some big name professionals who are gonna be racing um and some experts in their field who are gonna jump on the daily pods.
[1:12:31] SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, we've got a lot planned for this little week leading into the 70.3 World Championships.
[1:12:36] SPEAKER_00: Uh, Apo, Greg, I'll uh see you both tomorrow and we'll do it again.
[1:12:39] SPEAKER_03: See you, Jack.
[1:12:40] SPEAKER_03: Thanks, Jack.
