[0:00] Speaker 1: Taking a Walk.
[0:01] Speaker 2: Hey, it's Buzz Knight. Every episode of Taking a Walk,
[0:04] Speaker 2: I ask my guests one question. If you could take
[0:08] Speaker 2: a walk with anyone, living or dead, who would it be?
[0:11] Speaker 2: The answers always surprise me. This month's Dream Walks shows
[0:15] Speaker 2: you who inspires the legends, the heroes behind the heroes.
[0:19] Speaker 2: Let's take a listen.
[0:20] Speaker 3: Nigel Dick, who would you like to take a walk with,
[0:23] Speaker 3: living or dead?
[0:24] Speaker 4: Gods.
[0:26] Speaker 3: Um.
[0:26] Speaker 2: God could be the answer, too.
[0:28] Speaker 5: No, no, no. Ha, ha, ha, ha.
[0:31] Speaker 4: Well, I'd take a walk with the Beatles, obviously, because,
[0:34] Speaker 4: you know, there's so much that went on in the
[0:38] Speaker 4: early days. You just love to sort of get a
[0:40] Speaker 4: vibe of that. I cried when John Lennon was murdered,
[0:47] Speaker 4: as everybody did. Yeah, it hits you. This stuff is really,
[0:53] Speaker 4: really important. I mean, on some level, I've been very
[0:58] Speaker 4: lucky because in that I've had my dream walk with
[1:01] Speaker 4: a load of people. To be sitting in the back
[1:04] Speaker 4: of a van with Robert Plant, it's like, oh my God.
[1:08] Speaker 4: We take a meeting, the meeting's over, and he says,
[1:12] Speaker 4: can you give me a lift into the centre of London?
[1:14] Speaker 4: And we're in a van with only one chair in it,
[1:18] Speaker 4: seat in it, which is for the driver. We're sliding
[1:20] Speaker 4: around the back and we're like, Robert, you know, I
[1:24] Speaker 4: know you're used to travelling around America in your own 747.
[1:28] Speaker 4: But we're in the back of a van with no seats.
[1:31] Speaker 4: I don't think this is going to work. And he says, look,
[1:35] Speaker 4: I used to be in a band. I lived in
[1:38] Speaker 4: Birmingham and worked on a building site. And every night
[1:43] Speaker 4: I would do a gig in London. And I'd have
[1:45] Speaker 4: to drive back, you know, in the middle of the
[1:48] Speaker 4: night in the back of a van with a bunch
[1:49] Speaker 4: of amps and there were no seats.
[1:51] Speaker 2: What the fuck?
[1:52] Speaker 4: Come on, man. Let's get in the van.
[1:53] Speaker 6: Let's go.
[1:54] Speaker 3: I have to ask you the dream walk question, John
[1:56] Speaker 3: Gallagher Jr. Who would you take a walk with, living
[1:59] Speaker 3: or dead? And where would you take a walk with him?
[2:02] Speaker 7: Oh, I think I would probably have to take a
[2:05] Speaker 7: walk with Bruce Springsteen from the northern tip of the
[2:12] Speaker 7: Asbury Park boardwalk all the way down through Asbury Park.
[2:19] Speaker 7: past the Stone Pony, past all.
[2:20] Speaker 6: The venues he played when he was coming up in
[2:23] Speaker 6: the Jersey Shore scene, cross over to Ocean Grove, maybe
[2:27] Speaker 6: keep going to Bradley Beach where he, you know, lived
[2:30] Speaker 6: in a surf shack in the 70s and slept on
[2:33] Speaker 6: the ocean and swam at night and keep going.
[2:36] Speaker 7: Maybe go all the way down to Belmar.
[2:38] Speaker 5: I don't know.
[2:38] Speaker 6: Just walk the Jersey Shore with Bruce Springsteen and soak
[2:42] Speaker 6: up every single story he has to offer. I think
[2:45] Speaker 6: we'd stop and grab a slice, maybe a couple beers
[2:47] Speaker 6: at the Stone Pony, you know, say hi to his friends.
[2:50] Speaker 6: Maybe he'd get up and jam. I don't know.
[2:52] Speaker 2: Alien Rose.
[2:53] Speaker 1: Do you want to go first, Tina Rose? I do not,
[2:55] Speaker 1: but thank you for asking. Okay. The first thing that
[2:59] Speaker 1: came to my mind when I was listening to Ziggy
[3:02] Speaker 1: talking about your interview with him, that was the first
[3:05] Speaker 1: time I'd heard your show. And so the first thing
[3:07] Speaker 1: that I thought of was, I want to take a
[3:09] Speaker 1: walk with my dad. I miss him. I don't get
[3:11] Speaker 1: to see him enough. So, yeah, I used to work
[3:14] Speaker 1: with him on the road and I would see him
[3:16] Speaker 1: a lot. But even then, I didn't really get to
[3:17] Speaker 1: take a lot of walks with him because he's so famous.
[3:19] Speaker 1: People would stop him and stuff, you know, like he
[3:21] Speaker 1: would he would get out on his bicycle and things
[3:24] Speaker 1: like that. But dad, Aunt Bobby, I'd love to take
[3:27] Speaker 1: a walk with her. I feel like we're supposed to
[3:29] Speaker 1: pick someone dead because it's, you know, I don't know.
[3:34] Speaker 7: I would have.
[3:35] Speaker 5: I would have to say the same. In addition to that,
[3:38] Speaker 5: I'd love to take a walk with myself as a child, honestly.
[3:43] Speaker 5: I really had to, if I had to just choose one,
[3:47] Speaker 5: it would be that. There were a lot of just
[3:52] Speaker 5: uncertainties growing up and insecurities and lots of feelings as
[4:00] Speaker 5: a kid. And knowing myself and knowing, you know, exactly
[4:06] Speaker 5: what I needed at that time, I would go back
[4:09] Speaker 5: and talk to myself.
[4:11] Speaker 7: Yeah, I love that answer.
[4:12] Speaker 1: I'm changing my answer.
[4:13] Speaker 3: Grandmaster Flash, if you could take a walk with somebody
[4:17] Speaker 3: living or dead, who would you take a walk with?
[4:19] Speaker 4: My mother and father, they've been passed for a long time.
[4:22] Speaker 4: My mom and my dad.
[4:24] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[4:25] Speaker 2: Those are this month's Dream Walks. The people who shaped
[4:28] Speaker 2: the people who shaped music. Want to hear the full
