[0:10] Speaker 1: You're listening to a MoMA Mia podcast. Mamma Mia acknowledges
[0:15] Speaker 1: the traditional owners of land and waters that this podcast
[0:18] Speaker 1: is recorded on Hey friends, Lee here, host of Nothing
[0:21] Speaker 1: to Wear, but also host of You Beauty. I'm dropping
[0:24] Speaker 1: a You Beauty episode here. Don't get mad at me,
[0:26] Speaker 1: but if you listen to You Beauty, you might know.
[0:29] Speaker 1: There's a bit of a theme about what I've been
[0:30] Speaker 1: talking about recently. I want you to spot whether I
[0:33] Speaker 1: mentioned the topic in this episode or not. Kelly might
[0:36] Speaker 1: give you a clue, and she wants me to stop
[0:38] Speaker 1: talking about it, but I will never stop talking about it,
[0:41] Speaker 1: So go and have a listen. Makeup is my therapy.
[0:45] Speaker 1: I'm in love, I'm obsessed, and I don't even feel
[0:48] Speaker 1: guilty of body. Hello and welcome to You Beauty. I'm
[0:54] Speaker 1: Lee Campbell. I'm Kelly McCoy. Before we get into the
[0:57] Speaker 1: questions of the week, let's catch up on what's happening
[0:59] Speaker 1: in beauty land. Here are the top beauty headlines.
[1:02] Speaker 2: This is the Beauty Edit, your weekly download of everything
[1:05] Speaker 2: you missed in the beauty world. I'm Cas Green, morning
[1:08] Speaker 2: editor at MoMA Maya and your biggest beauty nerd and.
[1:11] Speaker 3: I'm Amy Clark, Mama MIA's lifestyle editor, and I have
[1:14] Speaker 3: a really big pimple on my chin this morning.
[1:16] Speaker 1: So love that for me.
[1:17] Speaker 2: Here's what's trending. Okay, So Taylor Swift's showgull orange theme
[1:21] Speaker 2: is coming for your beauty routine. So Amy, I need
[1:24] Speaker 2: to talk about my girl, Taylor Swift. She's been getting
[1:27] Speaker 2: engaged to her now fiance, Travis Kelsey. She's about to
[1:30] Speaker 2: release her twelfth studio album, The Life of a show Girl,
[1:33] Speaker 2: and she has a lot going on.
[1:34] Speaker 1: But what does that have to do with beauty?
[1:36] Speaker 3: Actually, it has everything to do with beauty, because, as
[1:39] Speaker 3: we know, anything that Taylor Swift does seeps into the
[1:43] Speaker 3: cultural zeitgeist of trends, including the colors associated with her albums.
[1:47] Speaker 3: Case in point, Google searches and group chats immediately exploded
[1:51] Speaker 3: a few weeks back when Taylor appeared on Travis's New
[1:54] Speaker 3: Heights Sports podcast wearing a matt To orange lipstick. For
[1:58] Speaker 3: anyone wondering, there's a strong chance that it's the hard
[2:01] Speaker 3: to find Nas Morocco lipstick. However, I highly recommend the
[2:06] Speaker 3: Mac Powder Kiss Velvet Blur lipstick in All Star and
[2:09] Speaker 3: ees if you're looking for an alternative available in Australia,
[2:12] Speaker 3: so Amy.
[2:12] Speaker 2: This tells us a lot about what we're going to
[2:14] Speaker 2: see across fashion, home and beauty, and the answer is
[2:16] Speaker 2: a whole lot of orange orange lipsticks, blushes, eyes, shadow looks,
[2:20] Speaker 2: and maybe even manicures, which I'm excited for the specific
[2:23] Speaker 2: bright orange shade associated with the life of a show girl.
[2:26] Speaker 2: I must admit it's not the easiest shade to wear,
[2:29] Speaker 2: but think of it more as a color spectrum and inspiration,
[2:31] Speaker 2: so we can go from warm peach and punchy coral
[2:34] Speaker 2: to deeper shades of burnt orange and also caramel.
[2:37] Speaker 3: My favorite way to wear color trends is to lean
[2:40] Speaker 3: all the way in with a tonal look, So pick
[2:43] Speaker 3: your shade of orange and wear it as a wash
[2:45] Speaker 3: of color over the eyes, the lips, and the cheeks.
[2:48] Speaker 3: Even an orange French tip or a feature nail is
[2:51] Speaker 3: another way that you could participate in the trend without
[2:54] Speaker 3: having to go full blown orange. Gen Z are just
[2:58] Speaker 3: discovering the pixie cut. So according to Pinterest's latest trend report,
[3:02] Speaker 3: gen z searches for chic pixie are up two thousand,
[3:07] Speaker 3: four hundred and thirty five percent, which is kind of wild,
[3:10] Speaker 3: and it's moving away from the long layers and the
[3:13] Speaker 3: curtain bangs and towards the ultra short styles made famous
[3:16] Speaker 3: by the likes of Audrey Hepburn, Michelle Williams, Emma Watson Cass.
[3:21] Speaker 3: Why do we think gen Z are getting the chop okay?
[3:24] Speaker 2: So, as a girl who once cut her hair and
[3:26] Speaker 2: majorly regretted it, I have some thoughts. Really, it's all
[3:29] Speaker 2: about nostalgia for the nineties. A pixie gut has that
[3:32] Speaker 2: glamorous kind of editorial vibe. It shows off your neckline
[3:35] Speaker 2: and draws attention to the royal beauty of your features.
[3:38] Speaker 3: Also, speaking as a millennial here, authenticity and embracing you
[3:43] Speaker 3: over what is deemed conventionally attractive does appear to be
[3:46] Speaker 3: what really speaks to gen Z when it comes to
[3:49] Speaker 3: their beauty esthetic. So, alongside other nineties trends like grunge
[3:53] Speaker 3: eye makeup and deeper shades, it's kind of a rebellion
[3:56] Speaker 3: against the supermodel blowout or clean girl slick.
[4:00] Speaker 2: Why does everyone want to smell like vanilla and caramel
[4:03] Speaker 2: right now? If you feel like salted caramel and vanilla
[4:06] Speaker 2: scented body lotions, hammers and fragrances are popping up all
[4:09] Speaker 2: over your feet. That's because they are thanks to recent
[4:12] Speaker 2: launches from brands like Fante Rare and the new Too
[4:14] Speaker 2: Mecca brand. Flur, smelling like a dessert is all over
[4:17] Speaker 2: my TikTok feed.
[4:18] Speaker 3: It kind of feels like We've gone back to the
[4:20] Speaker 3: early noughties and I'm spraying Britney Spears Fantasy at my
[4:24] Speaker 3: locker at high school. But gormand fragrances that were traditionally
[4:28] Speaker 3: reserved for the home, like the infamous Glasshouse Taha Candle
[4:32] Speaker 3: a dominating new launchers in the bath, body care, and
[4:35] Speaker 3: personal fragrance categories. Even I've seen caramel scented skincare.
[4:40] Speaker 2: So vanilla isn't just a vibe. There's actually a lot
[4:42] Speaker 2: of sales data that can back this up. Amy, So
[4:45] Speaker 2: within forty eight hours of launching Flour, sold out products
[4:48] Speaker 2: include the Vanilla Skin DP and their heavy cream hair
[4:51] Speaker 2: and body mist. But these are not your mother's kind
[4:54] Speaker 2: of sickly sweet vanilla scents. We're seeing juxtaposition of rich
[4:57] Speaker 2: sweet notes with contrasting deeper sents like sandalwood, pink pepper,
[5:01] Speaker 2: and musk.
[5:01] Speaker 3: I think we're going to see even more of this
[5:03] Speaker 3: caramel and vanilla resurgence come holiday season, because it's also
[5:07] Speaker 3: just a nice alternative to your standard Christmas cents and
[5:11] Speaker 3: fun fat sugary sweet gormand fragrance notes are known within
[5:15] Speaker 3: the beauty industry as catnip for men.
[5:18] Speaker 1: So do with that information what you will.
[5:20] Speaker 2: Now, let's get into all your beauty Q and a's
[5:22] Speaker 2: with Lee and Kelly.
[5:24] Speaker 1: I couldn't help wonder ask me anything. You ask many.
[5:27] Speaker 4: Questions, so our first one is from Jessica Hilean. Kelly
[5:34] Speaker 4: loved the podcast Quick Question. It's a spicy sunscreen question.
[5:39] Speaker 1: I don't know, Ea your sunscreen you don't want? S fine?
[5:41] Speaker 4: No, can I layer a tinted mineral sunscreen on top
[5:44] Speaker 4: of a chemical sunscreen? I have a chemical sunscreen that
[5:48] Speaker 4: I absolutely adore, but I am looking at incorporating a
[5:51] Speaker 4: tinted SBF product for a more my skin but better look.
[5:55] Speaker 4: I've read mixed opinions on layering the two types of sunscreens,
[5:58] Speaker 4: and I thought you may be able to provide clarification.
[6:01] Speaker 1: Thanks. We absolutely can, so just a caveat that due
[6:04] Speaker 1: to the regulations in place by the Therapeutic Goods Administration,
[6:08] Speaker 1: we can't recommend products. The TGA does a lot of
[6:11] Speaker 1: good things, but please let us recommend specific sunscreens because
[6:14] Speaker 1: I've tried them all and women find it hard to
[6:16] Speaker 1: find a good one. Jessica, you absolutely can. This is
[6:19] Speaker 1: actually perfect. You can layer them in this order. Let
[6:23] Speaker 1: me explain so a quicker wonder if you confused about
[6:24] Speaker 1: the different types of sunscreen. So mineral sunscreen is also
[6:28] Speaker 1: called a physical sunscreen or also called an inorganic sunscreen.
[6:31] Speaker 1: So if you see those terms all the same thing
[6:34] Speaker 1: that essentially, and I'm really like giving you top line
[6:37] Speaker 1: here sits on the surface of the skin, whereas a
[6:39] Speaker 1: chemical sunscreen another name for that is an organic sunscreen.
[6:43] Speaker 1: They contain like little organic molecules and chemical bonds, and
[6:47] Speaker 1: they absorb energy from the UV radiation, so it feels
[6:50] Speaker 1: a bit more like skincare. So, yes, you've said you've
[6:53] Speaker 1: got a.
[6:53] Speaker 4: Mineral sunscreens are the ones that all over the news
[6:56] Speaker 4: last month. They were because you know, plot twist. They
[6:59] Speaker 4: all actually come from the same manufacturer.
[7:02] Speaker 1: And yet I mean generally speaking, they're harder to get
[7:05] Speaker 1: an elegant formula because they're creating physical law. They're going
[7:08] Speaker 1: to be thick and sticky, which is why. And you
[7:09] Speaker 1: do find a good one, you're like, whoa, yeah, yes,
[7:12] Speaker 1: you can layer and that is the perfect way to layer.
[7:14] Speaker 1: So your chemical sunscreen first, So you put your chemical
[7:16] Speaker 1: sunscreen on. That's absorbed into the skin to be effective.
[7:20] Speaker 1: So you just put it on your last step of
[7:22] Speaker 1: your skincare. You know how they say, wait twenty minutes.
[7:25] Speaker 1: The jury's out on that, but they's got a little
[7:27] Speaker 1: hand fan speed it up. Yeah, but that's mostly for
[7:29] Speaker 1: chemical sunscreens because they kind of go in and sit down.
[7:31] Speaker 1: They need a minute to sit down, so then you
[7:34] Speaker 1: find their seats. Yeah, so you've and I generally wait, anyway,
[7:37] Speaker 1: do my skincare. Then I've done, let's say, for example,
[7:39] Speaker 1: my chemical sunscreen. Then you want to add your tinted
[7:42] Speaker 1: mineral wonderful. That is great. That is basically like adding
[7:48] Speaker 1: an added bonus. So that kind of sits on the
[7:50] Speaker 1: surface of the skin and reflects and deflects the UV rays.
[7:53] Speaker 1: It's like kneading iron.
[7:54] Speaker 4: So you eat a steak, but then have a supplement
[7:58] Speaker 4: just for funzies.
[7:59] Speaker 1: Sure, except for don't do that. Go to your doctor
[8:01] Speaker 1: and get tested for your iron first. Yeah, I mean,
[8:03] Speaker 1: I know, I know, I know. Yes, it's like packing
[8:05] Speaker 1: an overcoat when you've already got a jacket on. Oh,
[8:08] Speaker 1: a raincoach if you yes. And so a tinted version
[8:11] Speaker 1: is really good because that generally will have iron oxides
[8:13] Speaker 1: in it, which is a form of sunscreen like a
[8:16] Speaker 1: SPF protection. So you're combining the two. So if you
[8:20] Speaker 1: let your chemical settle ideally ten to fifteen minutes, do
[8:23] Speaker 1: your hair, put your shoes on, I don't know, and
[8:25] Speaker 1: then you're topping up with your mineral. But you can
[8:28] Speaker 1: also layer two chemicals. I often do that, so you
[8:30] Speaker 1: can do chemical sunscreen and then another chemical sunscreen. So
[8:32] Speaker 1: I'll do like a chemical clear you know nothing, and
[8:36] Speaker 1: then I'll do a chemical tinted. Reason being is you
[8:39] Speaker 1: will never wear enough tinted sunscreen, whether it's chemical or mineral,
[8:43] Speaker 1: to get the full SBF protection. You just can't. You
[8:45] Speaker 1: would look like you've got sixteen layers of foundation on.
[8:47] Speaker 4: I have such good example of that, the Cosmetics SPF fifty.
[8:52] Speaker 1: Yeah, it's so thick. Years ago. Hannah English did that
[8:56] Speaker 1: for Mama Mea. We'll link it in the show notes.
[8:57] Speaker 1: She used the half tea spoon, yes, and she it
[9:00] Speaker 1: looked like she was dripping in foundation. You can never
[9:03] Speaker 1: do that, but you can layer chemical and chemical. That's
[9:05] Speaker 1: absolutely fine. Just keep in mind, say you've got an
[9:09] Speaker 1: SPF ThReD sunscreen and then you lay her on an
[9:11] Speaker 1: SBF twenty. The numbers don't it up. It's not mass.
[9:15] Speaker 1: So you've got SPF thirty and sp fifty for example,
[9:17] Speaker 1: that's not SPF eighty. It doesn't work like that. Also,
[9:20] Speaker 1: two chemicals might pill. I know. One's the different ones
[9:23] Speaker 1: that I can. You know, a chemical and a physical
[9:25] Speaker 1: might pill. So just learn what layers work together. Also,
[9:28] Speaker 1: just if you want more or you want to find
[9:30] Speaker 1: the write info on that stuff. Doctor Michelle Wong. We've
[9:32] Speaker 1: had her on New Beauty lad Muffins Science. She is phenomenal.
[9:35] Speaker 1: She's got a whole website and if you do want
[9:39] Speaker 1: more information that is factual and scientific and correct, head
[9:43] Speaker 1: to doctor Michelle Wong's website. So what I love firstly
[9:45] Speaker 1: is she's a genius and she missed us most like
[9:48] Speaker 1: all skincare stuff at mostly sunscreen. She also then does
[9:51] Speaker 1: like a video version and a written version depending on
[9:53] Speaker 1: how you like to consume your content. Ohyes, but one
[9:56] Speaker 1: thing that oftentimes when we're having this chemical versus mineral
[10:00] Speaker 1: debate is people think that chemical sunscreens absorb the heat
[10:03] Speaker 1: and will making malasma worse, and that's really not true.
[10:06] Speaker 1: She says, chemical sunscreens you not significantly cause malasma by
[10:09] Speaker 1: heating the skin. Both chemical and physical sunscreen work by
[10:13] Speaker 1: absorbing UV and converting it to heat. But the amount
[10:16] Speaker 1: of heat generated is so small it's undetectable. So what
[10:19] Speaker 1: you like, Yeah, whatever you like, and use enough of it,
[10:23] Speaker 1: reapply frequently. Sunscreen is only one form of sun protection. Hat, sunglasses,
[10:27] Speaker 1: upf whatever, plose, get out of the sun please. I
[10:32] Speaker 1: love that.
[10:33] Speaker 4: Yeah, And you know what, the biggest rule is your
[10:36] Speaker 4: favorite sunscreen.
[10:38] Speaker 1: We don't care what it is, as long as you're
[10:40] Speaker 1: using it. Yeah. Like, for example, I did my skincare
[10:42] Speaker 1: this morning, I did my sunscreen, and then I did
[10:43] Speaker 1: I think, I did my hair and everything. I was
[10:45] Speaker 1: like foundation while I west today and I ended up
[10:47] Speaker 1: wearing an SBA fifty tinted sunscreen. But just because I
[10:50] Speaker 1: liked the finish as a foundation exactly, you'd already actually
[10:52] Speaker 1: put I'm watching for something and I was like, oh,
[10:55] Speaker 1: I like the way this sits on it. Yeah, all right.
[10:58] Speaker 1: Question two Becky asked, Hi, Kelly and Lee of listener OnlyFans.
[11:04] Speaker 1: Do you think she means? O? Oh g I first
[11:07] Speaker 1: time please actually got a secret toe channel. I'm like,
[11:10] Speaker 1: you are on the wrong place. Come over to my toe.
[11:13] Speaker 1: Don't showed it up. It's a great idea. Oh my god,
[11:16] Speaker 1: you could note. I saw a girl the other day
[11:18] Speaker 1: she partially choose food and puts it in a bag
[11:20] Speaker 1: and posts it people. She's making thousands of dollars. We're
[11:23] Speaker 1: in the wrong job. You could do something with your
[11:25] Speaker 1: weird toes. Becka says, I'm a fellow lazy girl and
[11:28] Speaker 1: I need your opinion. I have dark brown, wavy, fine
[11:31] Speaker 1: hair and not heaps of it thanks to postpardon, and
[11:34] Speaker 1: I'm a morning shower person. Firstly, I love this detail.
[11:38] Speaker 1: This helps us as much detail now. Sometimes we read
[11:40] Speaker 1: a question, we're like, we need to know this, this this. Yeah,
[11:42] Speaker 1: so thank you. You are a good girl, Becka. She says,
[11:45] Speaker 1: I'm heading back to full time work with two kids,
[11:48] Speaker 1: and I want to know should I invest in nanoplasty
[11:50] Speaker 1: or hair keratin or the wet to dry dice in
[11:53] Speaker 1: straightener are usually just air dry or do a quick
[11:56] Speaker 1: blow dry. Thoughts are much appreciated. Thanks. Girls. I would
[12:00] Speaker 1: like you to look at my hair Lee as a
[12:03] Speaker 1: exhibit a of y are you Becca but blonde? Yes?
[12:06] Speaker 1: No you're not. Your hair looks great today?
[12:07] Speaker 4: Nope, I look like a bin chicken. Look at the
[12:11] Speaker 4: fried flyaways. Which is why I'm like, I reckon the
[12:16] Speaker 4: treatments over just a blow dry, because a blow dry,
[12:18] Speaker 4: your hair is still gonna look not right.
[12:21] Speaker 1: Every morning it even if it's if you won't want to.
[12:23] Speaker 4: If you've got the keratin or the none o whatever
[12:27] Speaker 4: it's called.
[12:28] Speaker 1: I always think of like a nose too. I think nanoplastia,
[12:30] Speaker 1: like getting your nose done. Yeah, but that's ryo plastic.
[12:33] Speaker 4: But anyway, I just think that do that one because
[12:36] Speaker 4: then it's just worth the investment and then you literally
[12:39] Speaker 4: can just let it air dry.
[12:40] Speaker 1: I agree, it saves you time. I could not agree more. Oh,
[12:43] Speaker 1: let me explain the difference between those two things. So
[12:46] Speaker 1: because you've tried both of them, right, I not. Well,
[12:48] Speaker 1: I get a version of it. So, I mean, it's
[12:50] Speaker 1: essentially all the same thing, but they like to market
[12:53] Speaker 1: each other off each other, to say ones where it's
[12:54] Speaker 1: like having gel or buy a like it's just all
[12:57] Speaker 1: shit on your nails. It's gonna make some look good,
[12:59] Speaker 1: but we'll do some damage. So firstly, I would definitely
[13:03] Speaker 1: get the smoothing slash straightening treatment because every morning you
[13:06] Speaker 1: wake up, you will love yourself sick. Yes, it's an
[13:09] Speaker 1: outlay of let's just say, roughly five hundred dollars, but
[13:12] Speaker 1: it will last as long as your hair grows. So
[13:15] Speaker 1: your hair will grow out from your head, that part
[13:17] Speaker 1: will be natural texture, but where they started at the root,
[13:21] Speaker 1: that will continue to be the beautiful, smooth texture. Yes,
[13:24] Speaker 1: so I probably get I mean I need it, minds
[13:26] Speaker 1: to you, but ideally every five months. And because your
[13:29] Speaker 1: hair grows fast though fast, and particularly where it's short,
[13:32] Speaker 1: I can't really do this slip back when it's gross
[13:34] Speaker 1: because I've always had really straight, quite nice hair, but
[13:37] Speaker 1: postpart and mind just went a totally different texture. Rude.
[13:40] Speaker 1: I've got lines, main heads, not a nice postpartum. I
[13:43] Speaker 1: have less time and someone at my ankles and you're
[13:45] Speaker 1: giving me worse hair. Yeah, rude, rude. So there's like,
[13:49] Speaker 1: let's just say keratin and nanoplasty just to give you
[13:51] Speaker 1: the two sort of categories. Keratin is aimed at straightening
[13:56] Speaker 1: and smoothing. Frizz. They use keratin. They used to use formaldehyde.
[14:00] Speaker 1: That's why nanoplasty loves saying keratin's bad. You can get
[14:04] Speaker 1: that really sort of smooth, glossy finish. It reduces frizz,
[14:07] Speaker 1: adds shine and smoothness. Brands don't use formaldehyde anymore. They've
[14:12] Speaker 1: got a replacement chemical. If you wanted like dead pins straight,
[14:17] Speaker 1: like straight, straight straight, you'd go for keroten. And that
[14:20] Speaker 1: would be for someone that maybe has like railey curly
[14:25] Speaker 1: or coily hair that wants straight.
[14:26] Speaker 4: That also is quite frizzy, and then they want it
[14:28] Speaker 4: straight because if you had like.
[14:29] Speaker 1: Our hair, it would look awful. Well, you can also
[14:33] Speaker 1: do different levels once you've so nanoplasty is more about
[14:37] Speaker 1: treatment and nourishing your hair, while alsot straightening it. So
[14:39] Speaker 1: they use what's called nanotechnology. He's the word an amino acids.
[14:43] Speaker 1: So you'll get like a naturally looking smoothness, but not
[14:46] Speaker 1: ultra sleek. Do whatever you want. I personally get karasilk,
[14:50] Speaker 1: so it's keratin treatment from kerrasilk. Kara silk's name is
[14:53] Speaker 1: because they used to this technology, used to use real silk.
[14:56] Speaker 1: Now they leave little wormies alone and they use a
[14:58] Speaker 1: vegan version of silk. So when I go and get
[15:00] Speaker 1: mine done, they say, do you want like there's names
[15:03] Speaker 1: for it, let's say like light or heavy, and I've
[15:06] Speaker 1: had both. And it's so that like you say, you've
[15:08] Speaker 1: got wavy hair, yeah, a nice wave if you probably
[15:10] Speaker 1: just want no frieze, but steal some texture and body. Yeah.
[15:13] Speaker 1: Gone are the days where it looks like you've like helmeted. Yes.
[15:16] Speaker 1: And for me they literally just blow dry your hair,
[15:20] Speaker 1: put the solution on, straighten your hair, wash it out.
[15:22] Speaker 1: I'm done in an hour. I'll put my hair up.
[15:24] Speaker 1: I don't have to wear it home for three days.
[15:26] Speaker 1: I need to try it. Oh it's life changing, Kelly,
[15:28] Speaker 1: I know I need to try it. So these are
[15:31] Speaker 1: all similar versions. Just research what your place does or
[15:34] Speaker 1: what friends have done, or jump in the ubidy Facebook
[15:36] Speaker 1: group or your community group on Facebook. You know if
[15:38] Speaker 1: you're in like your Suburbs group. I love my Suburbs
[15:41] Speaker 1: group and say hey, I'm thinking of this. Has anyone
[15:42] Speaker 1: got one or has anyone got to sell on? You
[15:44] Speaker 1: will love yourself sick. Then of course you can still
[15:47] Speaker 1: heat stull if you want to, but I just then
[15:49] Speaker 1: use an air dry barb Most days, like today I
[15:51] Speaker 1: did an air dry barm and then because we're a
[15:53] Speaker 1: bit later than normal, I just did a few little
[15:55] Speaker 1: tongs and it looks so pretty. I mean, I wouldn't
[15:57] Speaker 1: have that wave without the tongue, but I wouldn't have
[15:59] Speaker 1: any So this is not air dried. This is dice stuff.
[16:03] Speaker 1: And no I did it. It doesn't I look like
[16:06] Speaker 1: a bitten chicken. It's awful. I just think, you know,
[16:08] Speaker 1: a couple hundred bucks, five hundred six hunds a lot
[16:10] Speaker 1: of money, but the cosper where the convenience and the
[16:13] Speaker 1: time is money. Yep, I would do it. And look
[16:15] Speaker 1: if you don't love it, or you think it was
[16:17] Speaker 1: too expensive or whatever, you don't have to have. It's
[16:20] Speaker 1: so funny how people have different priorities when it comes
[16:22] Speaker 1: to their routines as well. It's like Kelly has got
[16:24] Speaker 1: six different shades of pink on her eyelids, but her
[16:28] Speaker 1: hair is And also for me, anything that gives me
[16:30] Speaker 1: time back, I will pay anything, because time is life.
[16:33] Speaker 1: Like you can't buy time, well you can if you
[16:36] Speaker 1: get caroten like, do you know what I mean? That's
[16:37] Speaker 1: the only way to buy hacks ye, hack city, what's
[16:44] Speaker 1: your beauty bite?
[16:47] Speaker 4: Well, last week I had my little wise words that
[16:51] Speaker 4: were simplifying how we do skincare. Today I have a
[16:55] Speaker 4: little bit of a reminder and it's also coming off
[16:58] Speaker 4: the back of our chat about sunscreen at the start
[17:01] Speaker 4: of the app.
[17:01] Speaker 1: So little reminder. Toxicity is in the dose. Water is
[17:08] Speaker 1: toxic you have too much of it.
[17:11] Speaker 4: So that's why apps like I see people using that
[17:14] Speaker 4: stupid Yuka app or you know, they'll put and they'll
[17:18] Speaker 4: say it's got this in it.
[17:19] Speaker 1: So it's a red because it's toxic. Yeah, it is
[17:22] Speaker 1: if you swum in it, like if you ate enough
[17:25] Speaker 1: apple seeds, you die, like the little things that little
[17:28] Speaker 1: seeds in apple core.
[17:30] Speaker 4: The process that companies have to go through to be
[17:33] Speaker 4: able to sell products on the shelves in Australia is
[17:37] Speaker 4: so stringent, and I promise you no one's trying to
[17:40] Speaker 4: kill you because then you can't spend your money. Yes,
[17:43] Speaker 4: so true, nothing is toxic in the amounts that you
[17:46] Speaker 4: are ingesting it.
[17:47] Speaker 1: If you want a great account to a follow. I
[17:49] Speaker 1: love her. Her name is that Eco Well and she
[17:51] Speaker 1: just mythbusts all of these things with science. It's not
[17:55] Speaker 1: her opinion, it's which is what that just was yeah,
[17:58] Speaker 1: but exactly, and it's like, yes, everything is the poison
[18:01] Speaker 1: makes it. It's like, my mum's quite unwell, as you know.
[18:03] Speaker 1: And the number one thing they've told her she can
[18:06] Speaker 1: only have like six hundred miles of water a day.
[18:07] Speaker 1: If she drinks too much water, she will die. Whereas
[18:10] Speaker 1: before I went to the cardiologists with her, I was like, Mum,
[18:12] Speaker 1: drinking my water, be healthy and they said, no, tea, soup, coffee, everything,
[18:17] Speaker 1: all her fluids. Honest, she can only have six hundred meals.
[18:19] Speaker 1: And so it's like, well there you go. Wow, you
[18:21] Speaker 1: know a lot. I mean, everything had to come from somewhere.
[18:24] Speaker 1: So even if it's natural, it can be bad for you,
[18:26] Speaker 1: and if it's a quote unquote chemical, it can be
[18:28] Speaker 1: great for you exactly. And that's the thing. A lot
[18:30] Speaker 1: of natural essential oils and things that's potentially formulating a
[18:35] Speaker 1: pregnancy beauty brand. There's so many essential oils you can't
[18:38] Speaker 1: use on pregnant people.
[18:39] Speaker 4: And also if you just put it pure on someone's skin,
[18:42] Speaker 4: it would literally burn it.
[18:44] Speaker 1: So yeah, cut the crap. Toxicity is in the dose.
[18:48] Speaker 4: You've got Show and tell again, I've got wise words,
[18:50] Speaker 4: You've got Show and tell you bought a lunch box.
[18:53] Speaker 1: It's my system. A lunch bag. We'll reminder of who
[18:56] Speaker 1: I used to be and I'm gonna beat her again.
[18:58] Speaker 1: So when Alexander was a baby and I was on
[19:00] Speaker 1: Matt leave and then we're going to the beach because
[19:01] Speaker 1: he was a winter baby, so he was like six
[19:04] Speaker 1: months over Christmas and it was just like I'm out
[19:06] Speaker 1: and about. I always carried a cooler bag for our
[19:09] Speaker 1: sunscreens because your car gets incredibly hot and going to
[19:13] Speaker 1: the beach gets incredibly hot. Yes, and obviously I'd have
[19:15] Speaker 1: drinks and stuff, but I had a separate one just
[19:17] Speaker 1: for our beauty, I mean my beauty. He had something
[19:19] Speaker 1: that is the most le Campbell thing in the entire word,
[19:21] Speaker 1: that you had a separate bag for your beauty products
[19:23] Speaker 1: at the beach. Well, in my car, it lived there
[19:26] Speaker 1: because we were going like to a park or to
[19:28] Speaker 1: the beach every single day. Like you know how you've
[19:30] Speaker 1: got the PRAM in the car, Yeah, you like, so
[19:32] Speaker 1: I had like a little kit but it had sunscreen
[19:34] Speaker 1: in it and everything, and your car Like this is
[19:37] Speaker 1: a bit morbid, but you know what happens if you
[19:38] Speaker 1: leave a person in a car. You cannot keep sunscreen
[19:41] Speaker 1: in a car in a hot day, throw it out
[19:45] Speaker 1: all of you. Imagine if you just left your makeup overnight.
[19:48] Speaker 1: Kelly's like, I do that. I mean I've done heaps
[19:50] Speaker 1: of times. But anything not in the middle of summer, no,
[19:52] Speaker 1: I guess. More so your skincare like your actives. You
[19:54] Speaker 1: cannot use the viteam and see that's seen in the
[19:55] Speaker 1: sun in the imagine a perfume. Eh. Yes. So the
[19:58] Speaker 1: reason I thought of this I was scrolling the other
[20:00] Speaker 1: day and I came across this Aussie brand. It's called
[20:02] Speaker 1: cool Kool and they have made Australia's first insulated beauty back.
[20:06] Speaker 1: So it's essentially something like this way more sheep. It
[20:08] Speaker 1: looks heaps better. But it reminded me I used to
[20:11] Speaker 1: do this, and I keep you like a little car
[20:13] Speaker 1: get I've got like a mist to conceal blah blah
[20:15] Speaker 1: blah blah. If you keep them in there, you don't
[20:17] Speaker 1: have to put an ice back in it. Just shut
[20:19] Speaker 1: it and it's insulated at the temperatures pretty much. You like,
[20:24] Speaker 1: shut it, shut it out, unless you know you leave
[20:25] Speaker 1: your carr in the desert sixty five years. But you
[20:27] Speaker 1: can sometime if you want to put a little cooler
[20:29] Speaker 1: thing in it, if you are going to the beach
[20:32] Speaker 1: or whatever. You know those imagine then if you did
[20:35] Speaker 1: put ice in it and you had like a misted
[20:37] Speaker 1: Do you know those crunchy things you get at the
[20:40] Speaker 1: pharmacy that you turn on the heat and you can
[20:41] Speaker 1: get the cooling ones too, Yeah, you just check my
[20:43] Speaker 1: those in there. So check out heads cool ko Elder
[20:47] Speaker 1: brand and they make much more stylish ones. But this
[20:49] Speaker 1: is my little kid that I've Well it's probably a
[20:52] Speaker 1: bit big, but I end up taking so much stuff
[20:54] Speaker 1: into the car, seven hundred lip balms and then I go, oh,
[20:56] Speaker 1: see up there'sll my biybro fencil. So this just lives
[20:58] Speaker 1: in my car now. But what's that coming summer? Great
[21:01] Speaker 1: great recommendation. Realize it's all floating around in my console.
[21:06] Speaker 1: All right. Well, on that note, I'm sad. We'll be
[21:09] Speaker 1: back in your easin eyes on Friday. Yes, if you
[21:11] Speaker 1: want to ask us a question, you can do that
[21:15] Speaker 1: our email. Can I remember it after seven and a
[21:17] Speaker 1: half years? Is you beauty at Mama mea dot com dot?
