[0:08] Speaker 1: You're listening to a MoMA Mia podcast. Whoever said orange
[0:16] Speaker 1: is a new pink with seriously disturbed laurels spraying groundbreaking?
[0:21] Speaker 1: Oh my god, you have to do it. You live
[0:23] Speaker 1: for fashion. Hello, and welcome to Nothing to Wear, the
[0:28] Speaker 1: podcast that solves fashion problems and levels up your wardrobe.
[0:31] Speaker 1: I'm Lee Camp. Now today we have a fabulous guest returning.
[0:35] Speaker 1: Her name is Sam. You might have caught her the
[0:37] Speaker 1: first time. She was on a couple of months ago,
[0:39] Speaker 1: and she is here to talk capsual wardrobes. No, not
[0:43] Speaker 1: why you need a trench and jeans and a black
[0:45] Speaker 1: blazer and a white t shirt exactly the opposite. She's
[0:49] Speaker 1: going to tell us the mistakes she sees her clients
[0:51] Speaker 1: make when they're trying to create a captural wardrobe, and
[0:53] Speaker 1: what a true captural wardrobe actually is. Did you know
[0:57] Speaker 1: it was coined in nineteen seventy I didn't. I thought
[0:59] Speaker 1: it was an internet thing. So let's jump in with
[1:01] Speaker 1: Sam and work out how to actually work out the
[1:03] Speaker 1: basics that work for us. Sam, Welcome back to Nothing
[1:07] Speaker 1: to Wear. You were on gosh a few months ago now,
[1:09] Speaker 1: and that is one of our most downloaded, most listened
[1:12] Speaker 1: to episodes.
[1:13] Speaker 2: Oh my god, I'm so happy of it.
[1:14] Speaker 1: That is so much love what you have to say.
[1:17] Speaker 2: I'm so happy to be bart, I'm so.
[1:19] Speaker 1: Happy to have you. Before we talk about what we're
[1:21] Speaker 1: gonna talk about, which is pretty like you've got some
[1:23] Speaker 1: big things to say, I need to know what you're wearing.
[1:26] Speaker 1: You look phenomenal. What is this outfit?
[1:28] Speaker 2: Thank you. I'll start with this little kind of crap
[1:30] Speaker 2: blazer that's just from palsy O beautiful. My jeans are igldy. Yeah,
[1:36] Speaker 2: so these have been in my wardrobe for all whale.
[1:39] Speaker 2: My shoes are kicked.
[1:40] Speaker 1: Oh you were fancy.
[1:41] Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought I would dress up. Yes.
[1:44] Speaker 1: And also, as we know from last time, you know,
[1:45] Speaker 1: you don't just buy things on a whim. We think
[1:47] Speaker 1: about it and then you're yeah, yeah.
[1:48] Speaker 2: I've word all this a million times.
[1:50] Speaker 1: I need your tips of keeping that those jeans clean.
[1:53] Speaker 2: Oh as soon as I get and I just tee
[1:54] Speaker 2: them off exactly.
[1:56] Speaker 1: Okay, before we jump to the topic, I don't know
[1:59] Speaker 1: what's your algorithm doing right now, what's on your feed,
[2:01] Speaker 1: what's on your for you page?
[2:03] Speaker 2: Oh my god, so in terms of my trends at
[2:05] Speaker 2: that's when it in time I am seeing. I follow
[2:08] Speaker 2: a lot of UK influenzas and publications, so in tryins,
[2:12] Speaker 2: I'm seeing a lot a lot of blue. So like
[2:15] Speaker 2: the cutwalks are coming off with like pale blue, but
[2:17] Speaker 2: I'm seeing like every version of it, and I am
[2:20] Speaker 2: trying my hardest not to buy into it because I
[2:22] Speaker 2: just know that I'm never going to wear that.
[2:24] Speaker 1: You're not a blue person.
[2:25] Speaker 2: I'm not, No, not really, I'm really monochrome. But I
[2:28] Speaker 2: am really attracted to it. So what I might do
[2:31] Speaker 2: is maybe like get my nails blue or buy buy
[2:33] Speaker 2: a blue phone case. That's how I kind of scratch
[2:36] Speaker 2: the etch of that color. Yeah.
[2:39] Speaker 1: So does that mean if you're seeing it a lot
[2:41] Speaker 1: then now is that kind of like what we'll be
[2:42] Speaker 1: wearing after winter? Do you think like you know you've
[2:45] Speaker 1: been in buying like or do we the world so immediate?
[2:47] Speaker 1: Are we going to get it in our winter?
[2:49] Speaker 2: Yeah? Well you should if the if the retailers are
[2:51] Speaker 2: on it. But yeah, but I feel like blue is
[2:53] Speaker 2: such an amazing primary color, so it will be everywhere. Yeah,
[2:57] Speaker 2: And it's all shades I'm really seeing, and it's not
[2:59] Speaker 2: just I.
[2:59] Speaker 1: Don't know if it's technically blue.
[3:01] Speaker 2: So you are seeing the pale blues, and you are
[3:02] Speaker 2: seeing the kind of like like clo Bot like Cole Bowl,
[3:06] Speaker 2: and there's other collars that I just can't put my
[3:08] Speaker 2: finger on the name, but you know, like that the
[3:11] Speaker 2: Devil Wheels, that's yes, that blue, I can't Yeah, that
[3:18] Speaker 2: Adventures enough. Navy, it is amazing. Navy is like one
[3:21] Speaker 2: of those colors that suits over with skin tone, so
[3:23] Speaker 2: go for that. So yeah, I'm seeing a lot of that,
[3:26] Speaker 2: and obviously pops of red is still I feel like
[3:28] Speaker 2: red it's primary colors really that I'm seeing. Yeah, also
[3:32] Speaker 2: seeing coming through which I don't know. I'm kind of
[3:34] Speaker 2: like on the fence with cargo trousers and pants. I'm
[3:38] Speaker 2: seeing a lot of that in the UK, and I'm like, oh,
[3:41] Speaker 2: I've never wore them before, but could I get away
[3:44] Speaker 2: with them?
[3:44] Speaker 1: Do not do them like twenty years ago?
[3:45] Speaker 2: Oh yeah I did when I was nineteen, but like, no, nurge,
[3:49] Speaker 2: you know. So I'm like, how can I? Because I
[3:51] Speaker 2: love high waisted like in terms of my proportions, so
[3:55] Speaker 2: they just wouldn't suit me.
[3:56] Speaker 1: So I could traditional kind of like casual cut as well,
[3:59] Speaker 1: because I've sort of seen some that are more I
[4:01] Speaker 1: guess suiting or tailoring with that kind of pockety situation.
[4:05] Speaker 1: That's what I'm going to do this time, do the
[4:07] Speaker 1: low waist.
[4:08] Speaker 2: And I feel like that's the thing. It's like, if
[4:10] Speaker 2: you like a trend, you can find a stale that
[4:12] Speaker 2: represents that, but then also represents you.
[4:14] Speaker 1: Oh no, I need to tuck my top into my highway.
[4:19] Speaker 2: Pennial thing as well.
[4:20] Speaker 1: It.
[4:21] Speaker 2: Yeah, what else I'm seeing a lot of AI I
[4:24] Speaker 2: think you guys mentioned that as well. I'm seeing the
[4:27] Speaker 2: whole sheer locks thing where they've got a whole page
[4:30] Speaker 2: for They've got four influencers as AI people.
[4:35] Speaker 1: I haven't seen this.
[4:36] Speaker 2: Yes, so there's four of them and they're all kind
[4:39] Speaker 2: of like a bit different. They're all beautiful. The comments
[4:42] Speaker 2: are blowing up because there's a beauty there's a beauty
[4:45] Speaker 2: one who recommends beauty products but then doesn't have doesn't
[4:48] Speaker 2: a real skin. So everything is blowing up at this
[4:53] Speaker 2: in terms of that conversation. And I'll like just pay
[4:55] Speaker 2: real people.
[4:56] Speaker 1: Yes, I mean, it's gonna have a great place in fashion,
[4:59] Speaker 1: hopefully if it can literally help me, I don't know,
[5:01] Speaker 1: maybe a hologram of my exact proportions and my and
[5:04] Speaker 1: it pops up there and she spins around like, oh,
[5:06] Speaker 1: that looks grow up. Have to try that on. Yeah,
[5:08] Speaker 1: I don't know something like that.
[5:09] Speaker 2: Yeah no, but I think those people doing that, I
[5:10] Speaker 2: think that I'll do that and you can try you
[5:13] Speaker 2: on a picture of yourself in great a portion. So
[5:15] Speaker 2: I think that's great. And even as a content quit,
[5:17] Speaker 2: I mean, I would absolutely love it if I could
[5:19] Speaker 2: just clone myself and just be like, here's all educational here,
[5:24] Speaker 2: everything in my brain.
[5:26] Speaker 1: Robot film the content.
[5:28] Speaker 2: Exactly, but it's my voice, my like you know.
[5:31] Speaker 1: But in advertising of products feels very weird.
[5:34] Speaker 2: People need that human contact.
[5:37] Speaker 1: Honestly, think it's an interesting space. Yeah, it really is interesting,
[5:41] Speaker 1: all right, So that's the future with the robots. What
[5:43] Speaker 1: else anything from the good old days?
[5:45] Speaker 2: Oh nineties, like it's absolutely everywhere. Have you seen it's
[5:49] Speaker 2: called a Love Story with Caroline.
[5:51] Speaker 1: I haven't watched it, but I need to.
[5:53] Speaker 2: It's absolutely blew up the ends on that.
[5:57] Speaker 1: I know. I mean, I know, and I know the story,
[5:58] Speaker 1: but I will watch it.
[6:00] Speaker 2: But I think people were just craving like simplacity and
[6:03] Speaker 2: nineties is all the But that's simplacity, It's so simple.
[6:06] Speaker 1: Yeah, I was on Deepop time. I'm always in the
[6:07] Speaker 1: vintage section and I'm choosing my era and it's obviously nineties,
[6:11] Speaker 1: most too recent, and I'm like, oh, no, it wasn't.
[6:14] Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like proper vintage now it's sadvantage, but yeah, people,
[6:19] Speaker 2: I feel like people are just craving that, like just simplicity.
[6:22] Speaker 2: I feel like that in terms of my followers or
[6:24] Speaker 2: just like just need some.
[6:26] Speaker 1: Ple yeah, not too fussy, not to fossy. And I
[6:29] Speaker 1: think also for younger generations, it's their first time with
[6:32] Speaker 1: that sort of total esthetic. You know, it's you know,
[6:35] Speaker 1: we've been there and done that, but it's quite frustrating.
[6:37] Speaker 2: Even for me. It's like I grew up in that.
[6:40] Speaker 2: I was a teenager in the nineties, but my like
[6:43] Speaker 2: asthetics was like all scenes and things like that. Cargos, yes,
[6:48] Speaker 2: you know, to see the canar, Calvin Klay.
[6:50] Speaker 1: Yes, the more kind of viture side that. Yeah.
[6:53] Speaker 2: So I'm actually really excited.
[6:55] Speaker 1: About that because that is just maybe we just go
[6:57] Speaker 1: back to no phones and meeting people at the movies
[6:59] Speaker 1: when we say what time we go to the movies.
[7:02] Speaker 1: So after the break, we're going to talk all things captural, wardrobe,
[7:05] Speaker 1: the biggest mistake and the huge myth around what a
[7:09] Speaker 1: captural wardrobe? We're talking capture wardrobes. I think most people
[7:28] Speaker 1: have heard the term, even if they don't know how
[7:30] Speaker 1: to get one. If they've got one, what is a
[7:32] Speaker 1: captural wardrobe?
[7:33] Speaker 2: So capture wardrobe was actually coined back in the seventies
[7:36] Speaker 2: by somebody called SUSA four. So as as a history,
[7:40] Speaker 2: there's even publications like back in the forties, so it
[7:44] Speaker 2: is long stunning, but at no so it is a
[7:49] Speaker 2: tightly edited collection of items that you will constantly wear,
[7:54] Speaker 2: that suit your lifestyle, that suit your body shape. That's
[7:58] Speaker 2: really all about what you feel comfortable.
[8:00] Speaker 1: And okay, so that's the intention. But I feel like
[8:03] Speaker 1: you go on any social media platform and there is
[8:05] Speaker 1: you know, a little jigsaw puzzle of a trench coat,
[8:09] Speaker 1: a black blazer, a white T shirt, some Jane. So
[8:11] Speaker 1: it feels quite restrictive or prescriptive. But was that the intention?
[8:15] Speaker 2: I feel like people are taking this on in terms
[8:18] Speaker 2: of the classics. What are the classics? And whip to me,
[8:21] Speaker 2: which defines a classic? Is it seen in every decade
[8:25] Speaker 2: of history? So like the trench coat, the leather biker
[8:28] Speaker 2: in the fifties, you know, the den the Levi's denim.
[8:32] Speaker 2: Like people do take that literally and they create a
[8:36] Speaker 2: capture wardrobe. But I don't think it's really about that.
[8:39] Speaker 2: You can if that's your style and that's what you love,
[8:43] Speaker 2: but I feel like it's being more intentional with your
[8:46] Speaker 2: buying and your purchases for your lifestyle and your personal style.
[8:51] Speaker 2: Fashion and getting dressed is all about expressing yourself.
[8:55] Speaker 1: So if you doesn't have to be blue jeans and
[8:57] Speaker 1: a white no.
[8:58] Speaker 2: Not at all. And I feel like that is a
[9:00] Speaker 2: real myth. It's like you have to be you have
[9:03] Speaker 2: to have thirty seven items, including.
[9:07] Speaker 1: Many days an exactly. Yeah, it's funny because I'm a
[9:10] Speaker 1: trench and I'm a gene, but I'm not a black blazer.
[9:12] Speaker 1: But when this was a big thing, I was like, well,
[9:14] Speaker 1: that's going to solve every problem. And I warn it
[9:16] Speaker 1: twice because it's.
[9:18] Speaker 2: Just you may be like, okay, so I did the
[9:21] Speaker 2: same thing. I bought an over sized blazer. That's what
[9:24] Speaker 2: it's on trend, but an oversized blazer on my petite frame, yea,
[9:28] Speaker 2: and hate just doesn't work. But then I do love
[9:31] Speaker 2: a black blazer, so I went and got an hourglass
[9:34] Speaker 2: black blazer which FETs my proportions there. So you really
[9:37] Speaker 2: have to think about what suits you your body and
[9:41] Speaker 2: then you can go from there.
[9:43] Speaker 1: Okay, well that's really good because I kind of want
[9:45] Speaker 1: to understand the misconceptions or the mistakes people are making.
[9:48] Speaker 1: For example, I've got a girlfriend in my head. I
[9:51] Speaker 1: don't know if she has a Capture wardrobe, but I'm
[9:53] Speaker 1: assuming not. She is very flouncy, floral, very feminine. I
[9:57] Speaker 1: don't think I've ever seen her in gene. So can
[9:59] Speaker 1: she have her own capsule wardrobe?
[10:01] Speaker 2: Of course she can't. So I capture wardrobe as just
[10:03] Speaker 2: about having those core pieces that you not live without
[10:08] Speaker 2: that you need to get dressed in them moments. So
[10:11] Speaker 2: she might love a floaty dress, she needs that floaty
[10:14] Speaker 2: dress in her wardrobe and whatever. Then she pays back
[10:18] Speaker 2: with that a then I'm jackets some cowboy boots or
[10:21] Speaker 2: something she can have as aos items that you constantly
[10:24] Speaker 2: reach for. What are you reaching for?
[10:26] Speaker 1: Yeah?
[10:26] Speaker 2: Every day?
[10:28] Speaker 1: So maybe without the Jane she's stubbing in a beautiful
[10:31] Speaker 1: Maxi skirt when she's not wearing her dress exactly exactly.
[10:34] Speaker 2: But it's making sure that those items are thought about
[10:37] Speaker 2: they're intentional and the long lasting because you don't want
[10:41] Speaker 2: to be constantly buying those floaty dresses all the time.
[10:44] Speaker 2: And then you have a wardrobe full of items that
[10:46] Speaker 2: you're never going to wear.
[10:47] Speaker 1: But it's your capsule, so you're only supposed to have one.
[10:50] Speaker 1: I mean, I know it's there's no rules, but if
[10:51] Speaker 1: that's your look, would you recommend or do you find that?
[10:55] Speaker 1: I guess people have maybe three pairs of jeens if
[10:58] Speaker 1: that's the thing, and three floaty skirts if that's their thing.
[11:01] Speaker 2: Yeah, so you have to think about the capsual wardrobe,
[11:04] Speaker 2: like term feels really restricted. It's not supposed to have
[11:08] Speaker 2: a number attached to it. It's not supposed to have
[11:11] Speaker 2: a style attached to it. It's not supposed to have
[11:13] Speaker 2: a color palette attached to it. It's who represents you,
[11:17] Speaker 2: yes so, And it's also a capsule collection. It's not
[11:20] Speaker 2: a capsual wardrobe in terms. That's my only fifteen items
[11:25] Speaker 2: and that's.
[11:25] Speaker 1: It, right, It's the essential foundation, it's the building.
[11:29] Speaker 2: Yeah, so you might go, Okay, I need a great
[11:32] Speaker 2: gene to make me feel confident, comfortable. She needs a
[11:38] Speaker 2: great skirt to make her feel confident, And then you
[11:41] Speaker 2: kind of layer on top of that. Okay, I've found
[11:44] Speaker 2: my capsule pace. That makes me feel amazing. It makes
[11:47] Speaker 2: me feel confident that I can get through the day.
[11:50] Speaker 2: And yeah, you can build on that. You might go
[11:52] Speaker 2: for a trend color or.
[11:53] Speaker 1: So rd because you say those are all like layouts,
[11:55] Speaker 1: and then you think, Okay, well that's all I need
[11:57] Speaker 1: for the holiday. But it's like not really, you know.
[11:59] Speaker 2: No, I mean I feel like people create that kind
[12:02] Speaker 2: of content, like the challenges, like the K three Challenge
[12:05] Speaker 2: and then the thirty six Eye for three months, and
[12:08] Speaker 2: it's like, yeah, I get that. And maybe you are
[12:11] Speaker 2: a person that just needs a capture wardrobe. Maybe you
[12:13] Speaker 2: are in the office in a corporate.
[12:14] Speaker 1: Office into fashion. You just want to look good, feel
[12:17] Speaker 1: good and not think about it.
[12:18] Speaker 2: Yeah, and you you might have that capture wardrobe. I
[12:20] Speaker 2: love fashion. I need to add those playful pieces into it.
[12:26] Speaker 2: But I can only wear those playful pieces if I've
[12:29] Speaker 2: got my foundations right. Yes, and then I start with
[12:32] Speaker 2: the basics. I start with the bass, and then I
[12:34] Speaker 2: build on it. And my bass is always my capsual
[12:37] Speaker 2: wardrobe items, the things that I'm always drawn to that
[12:41] Speaker 2: I don't have to think about.
[12:43] Speaker 1: Those foundation pieces key, just get that done at the workhorses.
[12:48] Speaker 1: They make you feel comfortable, and then you add the icing.
[12:50] Speaker 2: Yes, like a fantastic jacket, and everybody is different. Like,
[12:54] Speaker 2: you know, I do love a black blazer, but you
[12:56] Speaker 2: might like love a green blazer maybe maybe, or whatever
[13:02] Speaker 2: lightweight jacket that you think.
[13:03] Speaker 1: So it took me three black blazers to realize it's
[13:06] Speaker 1: not the blazer the whole category that is. It could
[13:09] Speaker 1: be it just doesn't black.
[13:12] Speaker 2: It could be the fact that it's something structured, you know,
[13:16] Speaker 2: So it could be that structure or something that just
[13:18] Speaker 2: makes you feel like a boss, you know, or however
[13:21] Speaker 2: you want to feel. So it might not be a
[13:23] Speaker 2: black blazer. It may be it might just.
[13:25] Speaker 1: Be a silhouette. It might be super feminine.
[13:28] Speaker 2: I feel like, yeah, but black blazers. Again, it's one
[13:30] Speaker 2: of those items that we've seen decade after decade after decade.
[13:35] Speaker 2: So now it becomes a classic. So what do you
[13:37] Speaker 2: how do you define a classic?
[13:39] Speaker 1: But even if it's a classic in the industry, you
[13:41] Speaker 1: don't have to mind one of.
[13:42] Speaker 2: Its God, and I feel like that seven years doing
[13:45] Speaker 2: practicing Cupture wardrobe, I feel like that is where people
[13:49] Speaker 2: do can.
[13:50] Speaker 1: Again, everyone comes to you and say, Okay, I've got
[13:51] Speaker 1: all the things that I saw on the picts world.
[13:52] Speaker 1: Why isn't it working? Yes, okay, So we understand that
[13:55] Speaker 1: a captural wardrobe is individual for everyone. But then at
[13:58] Speaker 1: the speed of light these days, trends, micro trends, cottage
[14:01] Speaker 1: court I don't know, all these trends come and go.
[14:04] Speaker 1: Can a person nail their capture wardrobe and still buy
[14:07] Speaker 1: into trends or you know, enjoy trends.
[14:09] Speaker 2: Yes, definitely, because you've got your code pieces and then
[14:13] Speaker 2: you can mix the march. You can buy those trend pieces.
[14:16] Speaker 2: That's what I love to do. Snake French shoes with
[14:19] Speaker 2: my classic black blazer on jeans.
[14:22] Speaker 1: Perfect.
[14:23] Speaker 2: I love to add me personally. I love to buy
[14:26] Speaker 2: into the accessories. When it comes to a trend or
[14:28] Speaker 2: what I was saying earlier, the blue maybe I'll get
[14:30] Speaker 2: some blue nails or a blue phone case. But if
[14:32] Speaker 2: you love trend, then yeah. But I think it's just
[14:35] Speaker 2: been a cultural wardrobe really is about being intentional with
[14:38] Speaker 2: your apoptosis. You know, it's identifying that, yes, that is
[14:42] Speaker 2: a trend.
[14:42] Speaker 1: I'm drawn to it. I'm not just doing it because.
[14:45] Speaker 2: But while I weigh it as well, because it's like
[14:47] Speaker 2: we we're getting so many avenues of influence these days,
[14:52] Speaker 2: it's really really easy to get drawn into it, like
[14:55] Speaker 2: the blue.
[14:55] Speaker 1: And absolutely and I think also, you know the capture wardrobe.
[14:58] Speaker 1: As we spoke about the restrictive one, there's no real
[15:00] Speaker 1: personal style there. But then if you're chopping and changing
[15:02] Speaker 1: every trend, there's no real personal style there. And then
[15:05] Speaker 1: if you're you know, trying to mess them together.
[15:07] Speaker 2: Then identifying if that trend suits your personal style. So
[15:11] Speaker 2: if Cowboy books comes into style, I'm never going to
[15:14] Speaker 2: be able to get into that trend, BUTND yes she might.
[15:20] Speaker 2: So it's it's identifying what trends relate to you and
[15:23] Speaker 2: your personal style. I'm buying into them.
[15:26] Speaker 1: Importantly. I loved the last episode what you do every day?
[15:30] Speaker 1: What do you actually do on the ground and how Yeah, exactly.
[15:34] Speaker 2: Like we've got the kids and we're doing this in
[15:36] Speaker 2: my school run and whatever. But it's also I am
[15:39] Speaker 2: looking at how I want to feel that day as well.
[15:42] Speaker 2: Do I want to coming here? I was like, I
[15:43] Speaker 2: want to feel comfortable, but I want to look sharp. Yes,
[15:47] Speaker 2: you know, I've got to make sure that I'm feeling
[15:49] Speaker 2: that feeling that day. Who am I going to be
[15:52] Speaker 2: that day?
[15:52] Speaker 1: Yeah?
[15:53] Speaker 2: So tomorrow I don't have anything on tomorrow, I'm just
[15:55] Speaker 2: going to be lazy. That lazy.
[15:57] Speaker 1: What does that look like for you? Go just attracts it, Ya,
[16:01] Speaker 1: that makes me.
[16:03] Speaker 2: Even at that. I remember having my first baby and
[16:06] Speaker 2: I was like, I'm living in tracks. So it's like
[16:08] Speaker 2: this minute in time, but I'm going to make sure
[16:10] Speaker 2: it's a bloody good cutcharck. So, because if you buy cheap,
[16:14] Speaker 2: you wear cheap, you feel cheap.
[16:16] Speaker 1: And then I'm more and more frequently.
[16:19] Speaker 2: So even if it as legings that you are aware
[16:22] Speaker 2: and make sure that a nice leg in the march on.
[16:24] Speaker 1: Top and you feel good and you feel good in them.
[16:27] Speaker 2: Yeah, about how you want to feel.
[16:28] Speaker 1: It's so true. It's all about how you want to feel,
[16:31] Speaker 1: who you want to be, and how you want to feel.
[16:32] Speaker 1: We talked before about the very prescriptive methods or ways
[16:35] Speaker 1: people can achieve having a capture wardrobe. But is there
[16:38] Speaker 1: a magic number? We often see numbers thrown around what
[16:42] Speaker 1: do you find or what works or just ignore that.
[16:45] Speaker 2: There's no mention even in the dictionary of how many
[16:49] Speaker 2: items that you should have in your Capture wardrobe. You know,
[16:52] Speaker 2: at the beginning, when I started my Capture wardrobe, John there,
[16:54] Speaker 2: I tried to keep my wardrobe under fifty items.
[16:58] Speaker 1: The whole wardrobe, my whole world. Dobe wait, just your capsule.
[17:01] Speaker 2: No, this was my whole wardrobe. Everything everything.
[17:05] Speaker 1: I try to it's just clothing, just clothing, yes, so
[17:08] Speaker 1: like top and bottom cover.
[17:09] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, so I tried to keep that doesn't work
[17:12] Speaker 2: for me. I love fashion. But as I say, if
[17:14] Speaker 2: you're in a career that you only like you know,
[17:17] Speaker 2: you're a NUS and you're in uniform. Do you need
[17:20] Speaker 2: that much? You have to again, like then.
[17:23] Speaker 1: You steal it that way because you kind of stripped
[17:25] Speaker 1: everything back, worked that out and then added from there.
[17:28] Speaker 2: Yes. So I really advise my clients take a step back.
[17:32] Speaker 1: Yes, don't go buy more things.
[17:34] Speaker 2: Don't go buy more things, take a step back. Look
[17:36] Speaker 2: at your wardrobe. Try everything on. You know, look at
[17:39] Speaker 2: the last two weeks, whatever you wore, what felt amazing
[17:43] Speaker 2: and what didn't?
[17:44] Speaker 1: Yes, why aren't you reaching for that thing?
[17:46] Speaker 2: Work on that, you know what I mean. So, and
[17:49] Speaker 2: then you can identify the gaps. You can identify I
[17:51] Speaker 2: need more texture in this, I need more structure.
[17:53] Speaker 1: Or I've got a lot of tops but not bottoms,
[17:55] Speaker 1: like I'm such a bottom first scenes, and.
[17:58] Speaker 2: Then that's where you start to kind of fell in
[18:01] Speaker 2: the garp. Yes and whatever it is that you how
[18:05] Speaker 2: you want to feel, how you want to sure.
[18:07] Speaker 1: Or even just how frequently do the washing exactly right. Yeah,
[18:11] Speaker 1: So it looks simple to get a capture wardrobe. You've
[18:13] Speaker 1: just got some classic basics, but it's not that simple.
[18:16] Speaker 1: As we've said, what are the common mistakes people make
[18:18] Speaker 1: when they're trying to aim for having one.
[18:20] Speaker 2: The biggest mistakes that people make. I think it's copying
[18:25] Speaker 2: other people, is copying the traditional or whatever capsual wardrobe
[18:30] Speaker 2: they are drawn to whatever pieces they are drawn to,
[18:34] Speaker 2: or you know, it's huge on Pinterest, as we say,
[18:37] Speaker 2: it's huge on every single platform. But you go into
[18:40] Speaker 2: Pinterest and there's always something on my face that pops
[18:43] Speaker 2: up and wardrobe and you're like, oh, I want to
[18:45] Speaker 2: look like her. I want to be that person. Yes,
[18:48] Speaker 2: but you're copying someday that looks nothing like you.
[18:51] Speaker 1: That is the proportion France exactly.
[18:54] Speaker 2: You know she's somewhere You're not taking who you are,
[18:58] Speaker 2: your body shape, you know your lifestyle, your your location
[19:03] Speaker 2: into consideration, so you might take into from a certain
[19:08] Speaker 2: type of aesthetics. So it might be like that kind
[19:11] Speaker 2: of minimal or the fringe capsule wardrobe or something like that.
[19:15] Speaker 1: Got a whole captual wardrobe. That's all other topic, so
[19:19] Speaker 1: not literally cutting and pasting from social media.
[19:23] Speaker 2: Yeah, you're completely different body shape from people out there.
[19:26] Speaker 2: You know, you have a different budget. You know, it's
[19:28] Speaker 2: kind of like the cargo pants I was talking about
[19:30] Speaker 2: las like I love them, but are they going to
[19:32] Speaker 2: suit me? Because I love a high waist and you know,
[19:35] Speaker 2: am petite and it's just kind of you Yeah, it's
[19:38] Speaker 2: kind of like, Okay, I do love that aesthetics, but
[19:41] Speaker 2: then it's finding with suits shure. And I also find
[19:45] Speaker 2: that people like they go for the classics, they'll go
[19:47] Speaker 2: for the classic trench, they'll go for the classic gene.
[19:49] Speaker 2: But your basics really don't have to be bored, and
[19:52] Speaker 2: it can be it.
[19:54] Speaker 1: Can be a barrel Jane exactly.
[19:56] Speaker 2: I'm wearing it. Yeah, I'm wearing a barrel gene. You know.
[19:59] Speaker 2: So I love anything that adds a bit of structure,
[20:03] Speaker 2: that adds a different element to that design. You know,
[20:07] Speaker 2: it just elevates.
[20:08] Speaker 1: It doesn't have to be straight like because in the middle.
[20:10] Speaker 1: You know, Yeah, it doesn't have to It doesn't have to.
[20:11] Speaker 2: Be a crisp, quite shark like I hate Chris, but
[20:14] Speaker 2: it just doesn't look It doesn't look good on me,
[20:17] Speaker 2: and it's really it makes me look well, it's not
[20:19] Speaker 2: great with my skin to an eye.
[20:20] Speaker 1: I mean, I love a white shirt, but I don't
[20:22] Speaker 1: want them to be so crisp.
[20:23] Speaker 2: Yeah, so I got rid of on my white shots
[20:26] Speaker 2: at the beginning.
[20:26] Speaker 1: Once your version of it so.
[20:28] Speaker 2: Is just a cream silk shirt with a split at
[20:31] Speaker 2: the bar. That does me great, you know, But then
[20:35] Speaker 2: that person maybe really love a white shirt, so you
[20:38] Speaker 2: love that, you go for it. Yes, I love a
[20:40] Speaker 2: cream shot. Yes, with a bit of shinter a texture,
[20:43] Speaker 2: you know.
[20:44] Speaker 1: Exture the one thing I have. I don't think I've
[20:46] Speaker 1: ever seen on these capture wardrobes color. It's all very neutral.
[20:51] Speaker 1: So how do we if we love color or we're
[20:53] Speaker 1: drawn to color, but we want to simplify our wardrobe
[20:56] Speaker 1: by way of capture wardrobe? Can it be done?
[20:58] Speaker 2: Yes? Again, a great doesn't no mention that your capture
[21:02] Speaker 2: world needs to be beige. But I feel like that's
[21:04] Speaker 2: where the whole social media comes in, what makes the
[21:08] Speaker 2: boring and neutral. But I would I always do it.
[21:11] Speaker 2: If you love color, I would always suggest creating like
[21:15] Speaker 2: some kind of color parlote, yeah, so that they all
[21:18] Speaker 2: set together harmlessly, because that's what a capture wad was
[21:22] Speaker 2: about as well. It's making sure that your pieces fit together,
[21:25] Speaker 2: style together for loads of different occasions.
[21:28] Speaker 1: Not that one hot pink skirt that you love but.
[21:30] Speaker 2: You but you don't have anything to get it back with.
[21:32] Speaker 2: Or you might love that hot pink skirt and it
[21:34] Speaker 2: goes perfectly with the basic white tea. Yeah, you know,
[21:37] Speaker 2: so maybe you know, pick a color parlor of like
[21:41] Speaker 2: twelve colors and you can easily go on Pinterest and look.
[21:44] Speaker 1: At these, so you have there my navy and my.
[21:49] Speaker 2: Minds is black and white yours, you know. So so
[21:51] Speaker 2: then you love those earthy tones, you know you love those?
[21:55] Speaker 1: When I say color, I think, like, right, but they're
[21:57] Speaker 1: kind of like yeah, but yeah, whatever you like.
[22:01] Speaker 2: Are drawn to and I think, yeah, yeah, yeah, but
[22:04] Speaker 2: again it's just that right, Okay, I coming back to blazers,
[22:08] Speaker 2: but I do love a blazer, but you like.
[22:10] Speaker 1: Who We're not a blazer. I'm a bomber or.
[22:12] Speaker 2: A trend exactly perfect. But you may love our red bomber,
[22:16] Speaker 2: you know, I mean that she yours. But somebody might
[22:18] Speaker 2: love color. But I'm like, okay, you go for a
[22:20] Speaker 2: red blazer, then something that you're constantly weird in it.
[22:23] Speaker 2: You just go for that. Just make sure that your
[22:25] Speaker 2: color palette is tight, and you can't go on pants.
[22:28] Speaker 2: Put in color pala and faint a color piette that
[22:30] Speaker 2: really catches your eyes so you cannot dart.
[22:33] Speaker 1: It's not like that color doesn't go with that. You
[22:35] Speaker 1: wanted to make your life easier.
[22:36] Speaker 2: It's to meet your life easier, it really really is,
[22:40] Speaker 2: and not to be constantly over pot chasin like.
[22:43] Speaker 1: To fix it if it's not. If you're adding, having
[22:46] Speaker 1: to add and chop and change, it's not your capture yet.
[22:48] Speaker 1: You haven't got that. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, another problem
[22:51] Speaker 1: that I'm wondering if you see too or I guess
[22:53] Speaker 1: the misconception is like once you've got it, that's it
[22:55] Speaker 1: for life, but you will still need to update your
[22:57] Speaker 1: jeans or your cream shirt, right, Like it's not like
[23:01] Speaker 1: I have bought those things. Yeah, I'm yeah for life.
[23:04] Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like a cupture Wade was always evolving
[23:08] Speaker 2: like your pieces. Like, because I'm in my Australian phase
[23:12] Speaker 2: like this whenut in time and.
[23:13] Speaker 1: I'm feeling frus heading into your first winter, Yeah.
[23:15] Speaker 2: And I am loving it and I'm loving how laid
[23:18] Speaker 2: back and relaxed as you know. And i look at
[23:20] Speaker 2: my old wardrobe UK wardrobe and I'm like, it doesn't
[23:25] Speaker 2: relate to my lifestyle now. So I'm in this phase
[23:28] Speaker 2: of my life. You might be in your new mom phase,
[23:31] Speaker 2: so your capture is completely different. It's certain times of
[23:34] Speaker 2: your life, so it evolves. Yeah.
[23:37] Speaker 1: I think if you can kind of look back or
[23:38] Speaker 1: take a bird's eye, you can still say a common
[23:40] Speaker 1: threat as to your personal style just might.
[23:42] Speaker 2: Yeah, Like my personal style is minimal, easy, comfortable. You know.
[23:45] Speaker 2: I love monochrome.
[23:47] Speaker 1: That's always always been and board shots. Yeah, definitely, you
[23:54] Speaker 1: haven't changed. You've not changed the environ.
[23:57] Speaker 2: Yes, adapt to the environment. Adapt to how I'm feeling,
[24:00] Speaker 2: you know, if I'm not If I'm i can wake
[24:02] Speaker 2: up one day and feel really bloated, or I've put
[24:05] Speaker 2: on a few pounds and you know, and I'm just
[24:07] Speaker 2: not going to wear what I was wearing a couple
[24:09] Speaker 2: of months ago. You know, so I might just go
[24:12] Speaker 2: into elastic waste trousers rather than my jeans. It's still
[24:17] Speaker 2: my aesthetic. It does definitely evolve of how you're feeling
[24:21] Speaker 2: where you are in your life. And I was really
[24:25] Speaker 2: strict at the beginning and I went for that core,
[24:28] Speaker 2: fringe vibe capsule wardrobe, and that's not me. I love fashion.
[24:31] Speaker 2: So then that's when I started like, Okay, I do
[24:34] Speaker 2: love this capsule wardrobe aesthetics, but I want to add
[24:37] Speaker 2: a bit more interest into this. And I started looking
[24:39] Speaker 2: at different structured blazers, split back shots, barrel legs, barrel
[24:46] Speaker 2: leg jeans, and I wanted the fun. It's like, I
[24:48] Speaker 2: feel like a lot of people strip it right back
[24:52] Speaker 2: and make it boring and repetitive. But once you know
[24:56] Speaker 2: those key bits that you like and you'll constantly you
[24:59] Speaker 2: then add your personality into it.
[25:01] Speaker 1: Can still be.
[25:02] Speaker 2: Yes, but don't forget your personality, like, don't forget who
[25:06] Speaker 2: you are.
[25:07] Speaker 1: Which one's gonna show up in the morning or she's
[25:08] Speaker 1: gonna want to wear?
[25:09] Speaker 2: And that's how that's how it's amazing, that's how it's
[25:11] Speaker 2: really really key to go, how do I want to
[25:13] Speaker 2: feel today? Yes?
[25:14] Speaker 1: Who is she?
[25:15] Speaker 2: Who is she today.
[25:16] Speaker 1: Yes, yes, yes, yes, last one before we talk about
[25:20] Speaker 1: some fun products. What if you really love shopping, which
[25:25] Speaker 1: is not great for the environment. We know that, but
[25:26] Speaker 1: I like for me, I love thrifting. It's amazed any
[25:29] Speaker 1: capture wardrobe, so you know it's someone's passion point. They
[25:33] Speaker 1: are really into it, as opposed to you know, our
[25:34] Speaker 1: nurses or our lawyers that we've helped before. What does
[25:38] Speaker 1: she do?
[25:39] Speaker 2: That's me to be honest, what's in fashion? I walked
[25:42] Speaker 2: in fashion all my life. My husband said to me,
[25:45] Speaker 2: I would come home, I watked for talk Shop back
[25:47] Speaker 2: in the day. I was on Oxford Street with all
[25:49] Speaker 2: I would zig zag across the road into every single
[25:52] Speaker 2: store section.
[25:53] Speaker 1: It was just such a joy.
[25:54] Speaker 2: My husband said, every single day sum you would come
[25:57] Speaker 2: in with bugs. I would shop for I've got a
[26:00] Speaker 2: meeting Tomordrow, I need something new. I've got an event
[26:03] Speaker 2: at the weekend. I need something new. I was constantly,
[26:05] Speaker 2: constantly sharpen. So when I had my foster kid and
[26:10] Speaker 2: I moved from London to the country, it was a
[26:13] Speaker 2: whole mindset shift for me. It was an environment. It
[26:18] Speaker 2: was I've had kids like I used to lay my
[26:20] Speaker 2: stuff all out in the bed the night before. When
[26:23] Speaker 2: you've got a kid and your baby, that just doesn't happen.
[26:27] Speaker 2: So I really really really hard to change my mindset.
[26:31] Speaker 1: But that's not to say I still enjoy it.
[26:34] Speaker 2: You can't. Still I still love it. And I think
[26:37] Speaker 2: that's one of the mistakes that I made. I pulled
[26:39] Speaker 2: right back. I stripped everything. I went really minimal, and
[26:42] Speaker 2: I just stripped my personality. And fashion is all about fun.
[26:46] Speaker 1: Personal I get it, I'm sorry, and.
[26:48] Speaker 2: My dressing and my dressing and I'm quite allowed kind
[26:51] Speaker 2: of outgoing person so when I'm just turning up and really.
[26:54] Speaker 1: Basic, So you went too far?
[26:56] Speaker 2: I went yeah, and then and then I'm like, right, okay.
[27:00] Speaker 2: But I constantly asked myself the question do I really
[27:03] Speaker 2: need this?
[27:04] Speaker 1: Well?
[27:04] Speaker 2: I really wanted to, really really wanted Is it my ego?
[27:09] Speaker 2: This is the thing that I ask myself all the time.
[27:12] Speaker 2: Is it my ego that wants that you know? And
[27:14] Speaker 2: if nobody saw me in it, would I still buy it?
[27:17] Speaker 1: Yes?
[27:18] Speaker 2: It's all these questions that you ask yourself, Like, so
[27:21] Speaker 2: if I didn't have Instagram, would I still buy shoes?
[27:26] Speaker 1: Or people could know they can tell the label, but
[27:29] Speaker 1: if they couldn't would I not buy it?
[27:30] Speaker 2: Yes, And it's like, well I actually wear it in
[27:33] Speaker 2: my normal day to day life if it Disney, if
[27:36] Speaker 2: I cannot wear it to the school run, I'm not
[27:38] Speaker 2: saying I wear heels.
[27:38] Speaker 1: I'm completely stopped wearing heels.
[27:41] Speaker 2: But like if I see it, if I see a
[27:43] Speaker 2: Marxie Scott and I'm like, can I wheel that? Can
[27:46] Speaker 2: I wheel that to the bar? Can I wear it
[27:48] Speaker 2: too still run? Then yes, it belongs in my wardrobe.
[27:52] Speaker 1: I think for me also, I mean I do love shopping,
[27:54] Speaker 1: but I genuinely or generally love what I've bought now,
[27:58] Speaker 1: so I just got play in my wardrobe instead. Just
[27:59] Speaker 1: go play with the things you've already bought.
[28:01] Speaker 2: That's a massive cheft that I'm seeing as well. It's people,
[28:03] Speaker 2: It's it's how to style rather than buy, So how
[28:07] Speaker 2: to stale in different ways and of different things there, Yeah,
[28:12] Speaker 2: by playing with your wardrobe. And I do a lot
[28:15] Speaker 2: of that one Instagram as well. It's like how to
[28:17] Speaker 2: stale your wardrobe rather than buying to train And I
[28:20] Speaker 2: love it, and that is going to be things that
[28:22] Speaker 2: I'm going to buy. I love fashion. I'm not going
[28:23] Speaker 2: to stop myself, but I'm just more intentional, whether I
[28:26] Speaker 2: really think I don't take my phone to bed, like
[28:28] Speaker 2: I said in the last time, because that's when I
[28:30] Speaker 2: scroll and I buy. I did it the other day
[28:32] Speaker 2: there after a couple of wines.
[28:33] Speaker 1: Do you like what you bought?
[28:34] Speaker 2: No, I'm taking sending it back. Two things. One is
[28:38] Speaker 2: getting back.
[28:38] Speaker 1: You're still human. I love it.
[28:40] Speaker 2: So it's just really I like, yeah, it's just it's
[28:43] Speaker 2: just trying to be more intentional.
[28:45] Speaker 1: Yeah, turning on the thought instead of just kind of
[28:47] Speaker 1: doing it as a st It's a muscle.
[28:48] Speaker 2: You have to like really train yourself.
[28:51] Speaker 1: My real muscles first, and then I'll do that. So
[28:53] Speaker 1: coming up after the break, bougie two budget now three
[28:56] Speaker 1: items of the same category yours is in your capture wardrobe.
[28:59] Speaker 1: Trenches in my capture wardrobe. Maxi skirts, but the winter
[29:21] Speaker 1: it's very expensive.
[29:23] Speaker 2: How wonder.
[29:27] Speaker 1: Okay, So I love a Maxi skirt, but more so
[29:30] Speaker 1: for the colder months because I just feel like in summer, well, firstly,
[29:33] Speaker 1: I'm just too sweaty. I love a short, really, but
[29:36] Speaker 1: a Maxi skirt with a loafer or like a little
[29:39] Speaker 1: pointy kitten here atually and I'm just it's comfortable. Yeah,
[29:44] Speaker 1: you can just pull them up to wee because I
[29:46] Speaker 1: wear a lot and ideally pockets if I had a
[29:49] Speaker 1: dollar for every message or eBay, I'm saying, hi, lovely,
[29:53] Speaker 1: does this have pockets? You know? Oftentimes they go sooner,
[29:56] Speaker 1: some don't. So I wear them with literally a T
[29:59] Speaker 1: shirt and my bomba or my dam jacket all my
[30:01] Speaker 1: trench or a chunky knit or a thin knit. And
[30:04] Speaker 1: that's where I get the most out of my Maxi
[30:06] Speaker 1: dresses that I already have a cell because they're a
[30:08] Speaker 1: skirt for winter exactly. Oh, I just love it. Three
[30:11] Speaker 1: skirts that I love. I'm going to start with affordable.
[30:13] Speaker 1: The h nam a circular maxiskirt. It's forty nine ninety five.
[30:16] Speaker 1: It comes in a beautiful I think they call it
[30:18] Speaker 1: like a khaki color. I kind of call that like
[30:20] Speaker 1: a bony khaki and another color heaven mid range. I don't
[30:24] Speaker 1: think I'm gonna buy now that I've spoken to you,
[30:26] Speaker 1: but I mean it's obsessed, but it's not my personal style.
[30:28] Speaker 1: It's the top Shop check print full circle Maxi skirt.
[30:32] Speaker 1: That's a big word that's got its ninety nine ninety
[30:34] Speaker 1: five very It's like it's a full length circle. Skirts
[30:37] Speaker 1: are very swishy. I love swishy, but I'm not swishy
[30:41] Speaker 1: because then I trip over if I'm going yeah, yeah, yeah,
[30:44] Speaker 1: I bought one, but I don't think a check and
[30:47] Speaker 1: would just annoy you. Well, that's it, and I just
[30:50] Speaker 1: think that's too maybe two things that would restrict me
[30:53] Speaker 1: from wearing it a lot. I do love a check skirt,
[30:55] Speaker 1: but I think that and a lot of fabric.
[30:57] Speaker 2: I mean it's beautiful, like a nineties minimal Meddi or something.
[31:03] Speaker 1: Media calls no, I can't, but I just think the
[31:07] Speaker 1: it a beautiful We're seing checked skirts every where that yeah,
[31:10] Speaker 1: that's just a beautiful cut for nineteen ninety five. And
[31:13] Speaker 1: then my high end I have a version of it's
[31:15] Speaker 1: the Bianca Spender black cotton nostalgia skirt. It's four hundred
[31:19] Speaker 1: and ninety five dollars. But Bianca Spender is the most
[31:22] Speaker 1: phenomenal quality. I've got a very similar skirt to that
[31:25] Speaker 1: one that's like a again, a cart to check. Oh
[31:28] Speaker 1: my gosh. Banka Spender is like phenomenal. So Carla's and
[31:31] Speaker 1: Patty have you heard of her. She's a very famous
[31:33] Speaker 1: nostalgic Australian designer. This is her daughter and they're expensive,
[31:36] Speaker 1: but it's this most beautiful poplin cotton, but not in
[31:39] Speaker 1: a creasy way. A line pocket, but it's got the
[31:42] Speaker 1: paper bag wast it's kind of got a tie up
[31:44] Speaker 1: little belt. This one's a bit different. Pockets. Oh, the
[31:47] Speaker 1: age that one has pockets and the Bianca Spender one
[31:50] Speaker 1: both have pockets Top Shop wearsyr pockets, but I'm just
[31:53] Speaker 1: gonna wear those with you know, a tank and a
[31:55] Speaker 1: jacket or a T shirt or honestly.
[31:57] Speaker 2: There's nothing.
[31:58] Speaker 1: You're elasticated.
[31:59] Speaker 2: Oh, I know.
[32:02] Speaker 1: You can walk in Swiss and you don't. And you
[32:03] Speaker 1: don't even have to shave your legs because they're long.
[32:05] Speaker 2: I wore a Marxistkaart and Marxisko the other day there
[32:07] Speaker 2: with my loafers, and I felt really really because I
[32:10] Speaker 2: was like, oh, it's something cold, I need to put
[32:11] Speaker 2: my thong sandals away, and I'm like, but actually it
[32:15] Speaker 2: went amazingly, So maybe that's a uniform that I can
[32:19] Speaker 2: get into as.
[32:20] Speaker 1: Well, and it doesn't get that cold here. However, I
[32:22] Speaker 1: do sometimes wear if I'm wearing quite a summary dress
[32:24] Speaker 1: that I want to make wintry, I do wear like
[32:26] Speaker 1: a little thermal, like a little un goo underneath.
[32:29] Speaker 2: I love you.
[32:30] Speaker 1: One needs to talk to me about trench coats because
[32:32] Speaker 1: I too love trenches. Do you need any more because
[32:35] Speaker 1: I don't.
[32:36] Speaker 2: I don't. I've got mine salted, but I did trench
[32:39] Speaker 2: air it on Instagram the other day there and I
[32:43] Speaker 2: just searched the whole of all the Australian brands and
[32:45] Speaker 2: I've seen some absolute gorgeous ones.
[32:47] Speaker 1: Should we start with your affordable one?
[32:50] Speaker 2: The affordable ones or Zara Zara have done so. I
[32:53] Speaker 2: am loving anything that is no your traditional beige not yes, no,
[32:58] Speaker 2: I mean I love them. I've got one I will
[33:00] Speaker 2: be wearing that.
[33:01] Speaker 1: That's easy to take, but it's yeah, nic yes.
[33:03] Speaker 2: But I'm loving gray, khaki black. I've got a black one,
[33:08] Speaker 2: but if I was in the market to get one,
[33:10] Speaker 2: it would be gray or khaka and both. Like Zara
[33:14] Speaker 2: has got an amazing selection of all trained cheese. But
[33:16] Speaker 2: if they get this gorgeous belted gray one and a
[33:20] Speaker 2: khaki as well as such affordable prices, one thing I
[33:23] Speaker 2: would say, in terms of trend cheese to get that
[33:25] Speaker 2: kind of volume is feeling that exaggerated look is maybe
[33:29] Speaker 2: size up one size belt, make it all kind of structure.
[33:33] Speaker 1: And also I think you know, it doesn't get really
[33:35] Speaker 1: cold here, but you might travel, you might go down
[33:36] Speaker 1: to Testmania. If you're not from Tesstmania, you might want
[33:38] Speaker 1: to wear chunky and it's underneath these y it doesn't
[33:41] Speaker 1: really like we only need attrench that's it. Yeah, amazing, amazing,
[33:45] Speaker 1: So I think it's always handy.
[33:46] Speaker 2: Yeah, so that you can Yeah, we're chunking it under it.
[33:49] Speaker 2: But even just having that volume really just makes the
[33:52] Speaker 2: proportions and belt and it just those strong shoulders that nipped.
[33:56] Speaker 1: And waste mine of that because I chuck living on
[33:58] Speaker 1: over my pajamas to drop my somen. Literally, my parents
[34:02] Speaker 1: are not canna see what's going on today. Mid Range?
[34:05] Speaker 1: What do you got?
[34:06] Speaker 2: Mid range? It's for market.
[34:07] Speaker 1: It's a black one, the one you aren't give us
[34:10] Speaker 1: a quick rundown of our kit because you know it's
[34:12] Speaker 1: quite new to Australia. We can get it now on
[34:14] Speaker 1: the Iconic.
[34:15] Speaker 2: You can get it now in the Iconic. It's just
[34:17] Speaker 2: a kind of really condensed range. Yeah, but they were
[34:19] Speaker 2: my go tos back in the UK for those amazing
[34:22] Speaker 2: basic pieces, basic good quality. So they have the basics
[34:28] Speaker 2: range kind of thing like that will have those foundation pieces,
[34:32] Speaker 2: but then they will step into kind of trend pieces
[34:34] Speaker 2: so I.
[34:35] Speaker 1: Can see level of kind of price and quality.
[34:38] Speaker 2: I would say here assembly label of Assembly Label. So
[34:42] Speaker 2: I am so drawn to Assembly Label because our Keut
[34:46] Speaker 2: was my go to for jeans, for t shirts for
[34:48] Speaker 2: giants and now it's like Assembly Label. So that does
[34:52] Speaker 2: actually take me on too, like the ones that I
[34:55] Speaker 2: have chose from Australian labels, and Assembly Label has an
[34:59] Speaker 2: amazing trend in store at this minute and time, and
[35:03] Speaker 2: you know their quality is just fantastic for the price.
[35:06] Speaker 2: The craftsmanship even like the design is just so classic.
[35:10] Speaker 1: Yes, I love getting your perspective too as a newbie
[35:12] Speaker 1: to Australia because we if you're born here are in
[35:15] Speaker 1: fashion for a while, you kind of have that like
[35:17] Speaker 1: history of like, oh that brand wasn't cool and nowadays
[35:20] Speaker 1: or now they're doing great and you just are coming
[35:21] Speaker 1: in fresh going that brand's great.
[35:23] Speaker 2: Yeah fresh y, Yeah, it's really yeah, because I I
[35:26] Speaker 2: don't wear up, especially in the summer in the winter
[35:28] Speaker 2: as well. It's like I have my elevated pieces, but
[35:30] Speaker 2: I also have my really key core pieces and when
[35:34] Speaker 2: I look at when I look out Assembly Label, I'm
[35:37] Speaker 2: like yeah, yeah, I'll have one of us with them.
[35:40] Speaker 1: And too the fancy one. What's your fancy trench? Oh
[35:43] Speaker 1: my god?
[35:44] Speaker 2: Can I I have two on my lowed two you're allowed.
[35:47] Speaker 2: There's a gray one with like like real structured shoulders
[35:51] Speaker 2: neptan waste from Camella and Mark. Oh, it's incredible. I
[35:55] Speaker 2: wish I could afford that, and I wish.
[35:58] Speaker 1: Do you know roughly how much to that one?
[35:59] Speaker 2: I think it's about eight hundred dollars.
[36:01] Speaker 1: Well some of them got up to like oney one hundred, so.
[36:04] Speaker 2: So that's not bad. Okay, I'll sell some.
[36:06] Speaker 1: Clo that's not a trench. But I do have one
[36:08] Speaker 1: of their longer coats. It's still got oversized. I've had
[36:11] Speaker 1: four years and I flogged it looks brand new.
[36:13] Speaker 2: I am obsessed with this brand. I'm just it's obviously
[36:15] Speaker 2: about Bourgie, so I've not I've not bought into it. Yeah,
[36:18] Speaker 2: I really need to think about it. If those pieces
[36:20] Speaker 2: messing and then I may buy into it. But then
[36:22] Speaker 2: I've also seen this green trench from Friends with Frank,
[36:27] Speaker 2: another brand that I am absolutely loving.
[36:29] Speaker 1: But you get green, khaki green or like khaki green. Yeah.
[36:32] Speaker 2: Oh, it's just stunning and I'm just again, it's just like, oh,
[36:36] Speaker 2: the structure of the shape, the volume is just going
[36:38] Speaker 2: to make your pajamas look fun toast.
[36:41] Speaker 1: Your passion is so adorable. Let me just quickly clarify
[36:45] Speaker 1: before we finish where we're talking trends. Do you mean
[36:46] Speaker 1: like long line like obviously the ankle. Yes, we're then,
[36:50] Speaker 1: and we're not doing crops at the moment.
[36:52] Speaker 2: No, No, I am thinking those big you know, volume
[36:55] Speaker 2: is trenches, yeah, yeah, big lapels, yes, so that's it.
[37:01] Speaker 2: And again, you don't have to go classic and go
[37:03] Speaker 2: for your classic beige colored trench in your class see
[37:07] Speaker 2: you know, pretty barbery. Yes, you know, get some volume
[37:11] Speaker 2: and texture and structured into that and a different colors green, black, gray,
[37:16] Speaker 2: I'm loving.
[37:17] Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, I cannot wait to get my trench out.
[37:19] Speaker 1: It's time. It's getting cold. U. Sam, You're amazing. I
[37:21] Speaker 1: love you make cue, You make fashion not scary simple
[37:25] Speaker 1: and you kind of maybe want to stop shopping, which
[37:27] Speaker 1: is amazing.
[37:29] Speaker 2: Did you're bestudd? Thank you.
[37:32] Speaker 1: That's it for today. I hope that was helpful. I'm
[37:34] Speaker 1: off into my wardrobe to try my trenches on with
[37:36] Speaker 1: my Maxi skirts. Don't forget we're everywhere else on the Internet.
