[0:08] Speaker 1: You're listening to Amma Mia podcast.
[0:15] Speaker 2: Whoever said orange is a new pink with seriously disturbed
[0:18] Speaker 2: laurels for spraying groundbreaking?
[0:21] Speaker 1: Oh my god, you have to do it. You live
[0:23] Speaker 1: for fashion.
[0:26] Speaker 3: Hello and welcome to Nothing to Wear, the podcast that
[0:28] Speaker 3: solves fashion problems and levels.
[0:30] Speaker 2: Up your wardrobe.
[0:31] Speaker 1: I'm Tamara Holland.
[0:32] Speaker 2: And I'm Licinder Pickett.
[0:34] Speaker 4: Today on the podcast, we are joined with Leah Jordantis.
[0:37] Speaker 4: She's the creative director and CEO of Girls with Gems,
[0:40] Speaker 4: the cult Australian fashion boutigue that stops all our favorite
[0:44] Speaker 4: fashion brands, including her very own Sneaky Link. Leah has
[0:48] Speaker 4: built more than just a store and a fashion brand.
[0:50] Speaker 4: She's created a community and a platform that champions size inclusivity,
[0:55] Speaker 4: celebrates individuality, and defines what it means to shop with personality.
[0:59] Speaker 2: Leah, Welcome to the post.
[1:00] Speaker 1: Welcome, Thank you. That was such a nice introduction, Leah.
[1:04] Speaker 3: We ask each of our guests this very important question.
[1:06] Speaker 3: Can you describe your style for us in three words?
[1:10] Speaker 2: Oh?
[1:11] Speaker 1: Okay, are you up to thee I'm up to the challenge?
[1:14] Speaker 1: Interchangeable because I think in summer and winter I have
[1:18] Speaker 1: quite a different style. And then if I'm gonna give
[1:20] Speaker 1: you two more words, I'll give you my winter style
[1:22] Speaker 1: and my summer style. I think winter style is like chic, effortless, okay,
[1:29] Speaker 1: and summer is colorful. That's just one word, all right,
[1:35] Speaker 1: don't give you three. I'm not like that you have
[1:39] Speaker 1: different words for different seasons. Yeah, because I think in winter,
[1:43] Speaker 1: I really like wearing like a pair of jeans, a
[1:45] Speaker 1: nice top, a knit a trench, like you know, really
[1:48] Speaker 1: simple pieces that look really good together and paired differently.
[1:51] Speaker 1: But then in summer I love doing like different colors,
[1:54] Speaker 1: like sarongs with little tank I really like to mix
[1:57] Speaker 1: my textures and everything very different style.
[1:59] Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, resort vacation as well.
[2:02] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[2:02] Speaker 2: I love being experimental with color.
[2:05] Speaker 1: Yeah, me too.
[2:06] Speaker 3: But then in winter, like won't really catch me in coma, Leah,
[2:09] Speaker 3: we have lots more questions to ask, so we're going
[2:10] Speaker 3: to get started.
[2:11] Speaker 1: Amazing.
[2:12] Speaker 3: You're obviously a known entrepreneur in the fashion space, but
[2:15] Speaker 3: that's not actually where your career journey started. You were
[2:19] Speaker 3: studying law, and as I understand, you were pretty much
[2:22] Speaker 3: like at the pointy end of your studies, I was done,
[2:24] Speaker 3: you were done. I finished, So the path was law
[2:27] Speaker 3: where were you going to go before you pivoted into fashion.
[2:30] Speaker 1: I had a job, yeah, at a corporate law firm.
[2:33] Speaker 2: Wow, I didn't realize that you graduated.
[2:35] Speaker 1: I graduated, Yeah, okay, yeah, it was right at the end.
[2:37] Speaker 1: It was I finished my law degree and I went
[2:39] Speaker 1: to Europe and I went to Europe for three months.
[2:42] Speaker 1: It was so it was after five and a half
[2:43] Speaker 1: years of studying, and I remember being in a taxi
[2:45] Speaker 1: with my mom because she was also in Europe, and
[2:47] Speaker 1: she's like, I'm not doing it anymore, Like I'm moving
[2:49] Speaker 1: to Greece, so you need to decide if you're going
[2:51] Speaker 1: to sign the lease or not, and you have to
[2:52] Speaker 1: do it, Like she was like, you have to do
[2:53] Speaker 1: it in like forty eight hours.
[2:54] Speaker 3: I was like, let's just rewind a little bit for
[2:57] Speaker 3: anyone who doesn't know. Your mum owned the business Girls
[2:59] Speaker 3: with my Girl, right, and that was a boutique, like
[3:02] Speaker 3: already very established. And then she was like exiting out
[3:06] Speaker 3: to go and chase her dreams in Greece to open
[3:10] Speaker 3: a hotel. And then that was like the point in
[3:13] Speaker 3: time where it was like take the lease, as you said,
[3:16] Speaker 3: take over the business or not.
[3:17] Speaker 1: And it was like a fork in the road for you. Yeah,
[3:20] Speaker 1: because I had to make a decision. I was like,
[3:21] Speaker 1: I actually have to make this decision, Like I actually
[3:24] Speaker 1: have to sign a lease on my job already physically things.
[3:30] Speaker 3: Had you been thinking about it already? Was it in
[3:32] Speaker 3: the back of your mind a little voice saying fashion, fashion, or.
[3:34] Speaker 1: Like, how were you how to go with germs? It
[3:36] Speaker 1: was always like my fun and I worked with my
[3:38] Speaker 1: mum for the whole time that I was studying, so
[3:41] Speaker 1: it wasn't off the cards like I was involved, but
[3:45] Speaker 1: it was for fun while I was studying law, and
[3:47] Speaker 1: I was definitely going to be a lawyer. Have you
[3:49] Speaker 1: seen the movie My Oxford Year?
[3:51] Speaker 2: No?
[3:52] Speaker 1: Have you seen it?
[3:53] Speaker 2: No?
[3:53] Speaker 1: Damn it is it? Like I really don't just go
[3:57] Speaker 1: and watch it.
[3:58] Speaker 3: Go and watch it on Netflix, because this is literally
[4:00] Speaker 3: the same She goes to like study at Oxford, but
[4:02] Speaker 3: she's you know, done a degree, and she has this
[4:05] Speaker 3: like same sort of thing, A nice little romantic comedy
[4:09] Speaker 3: segue for you there. But that's amazing. So I guess
[4:12] Speaker 3: I'd like to sort of take a little bit from that.
[4:14] Speaker 3: You made a big, bold, risky decision, You're already on
[4:18] Speaker 3: this path, and then you diverted and chose another one.
[4:21] Speaker 3: For any of our listeners who might be kind of
[4:23] Speaker 3: facing a similar decision or considering a pivot a career change,
[4:27] Speaker 3: what would your advice for them be?
[4:29] Speaker 1: Oh my god, I have so much. There's so many
[4:30] Speaker 1: things that come to my mind. Like during that time,
[4:32] Speaker 1: I guess you can't take everyone's opinion on because everyone's
[4:35] Speaker 1: going to have an opinion. I had so many people
[4:37] Speaker 1: being like, you study for so long? Are you going
[4:38] Speaker 1: to take over a retail shop? Like seriously? And I
[4:41] Speaker 1: was like, oh my god, what am I doing? Like
[4:43] Speaker 1: am I making the wrong move? And I was obviously
[4:46] Speaker 1: speaking to people and open, but I always know at
[4:47] Speaker 1: the end of the day, like I'm making the decision.
[4:50] Speaker 1: But I had spoken to like my ADHD therapist. I
[4:54] Speaker 1: was there to get medication, and then I was like,
[4:57] Speaker 1: I don't know what to do. He was like, well,
[5:01] Speaker 1: I just want you to think about one thing because
[5:03] Speaker 1: I'm clearly not gonna make the decision for you. Are
[5:05] Speaker 1: you going to sit at your LAWD job and wonder
[5:06] Speaker 1: what quick have been of girls with gems? Or you're
[5:08] Speaker 1: gonna sit at girls with gems and wonder what could
[5:10] Speaker 1: have been of your law career, and like instantly, I
[5:12] Speaker 1: was like, I'm never gonna sit at Girls with Gems
[5:14] Speaker 1: and wonder what would have been of my law creepy.
[5:16] Speaker 1: I can easily just go and do that, but I
[5:18] Speaker 1: will definitely sit at my law job and wonder what
[5:20] Speaker 1: could have been of my life if I had taken
[5:22] Speaker 1: over Girls with Gems. So I was like, I'm going
[5:24] Speaker 1: to do it. I'm going to tell everyone that I
[5:27] Speaker 1: am just doing it for a year because I don't
[5:28] Speaker 1: want to hear everyone, but I hope I never have
[5:32] Speaker 1: to go back to law. And the only person that
[5:33] Speaker 1: I told that to was my now husband and my mom.
[5:36] Speaker 1: I was like, I hope I never have to see
[5:38] Speaker 1: it's like the plot of my Oxford year, because that's
[5:40] Speaker 1: a year as well just telling you. So I was like,
[5:43] Speaker 1: I'm literally just doing it for a year, and everyone
[5:44] Speaker 1: was like cool, coo cool, And now everyone's like best
[5:46] Speaker 1: decision you ever made. I'm like, yeah, you told me
[5:47] Speaker 1: not to make it.
[5:49] Speaker 2: Do you ever use your law degree in day to
[5:51] Speaker 2: day with Girls with Gems or sneaking link?
[5:53] Speaker 1: Yeah? I think yes, yeah, like not just the law
[5:55] Speaker 1: that I learned, because like not really Now I would
[5:58] Speaker 1: have to refresh myself whenever I'm looking for something, but
[6:00] Speaker 1: like in terms of reading contracts, but more than that,
[6:03] Speaker 1: Like I studied for five and a half years, and
[6:05] Speaker 1: I studied so hard in my law degree. So I
[6:08] Speaker 1: just feel like it taught me the work ethic that
[6:11] Speaker 1: I have taught me resilience. I missed out on so
[6:13] Speaker 1: much when I was studying because I needed to study
[6:16] Speaker 1: for so many hours. So I missed out on fun
[6:17] Speaker 1: and so I just got used to that and I
[6:18] Speaker 1: didn't care when I took over, I was like, I
[6:20] Speaker 1: don't care if I miss out in fun, Like I
[6:22] Speaker 1: want to do this.
[6:23] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[6:23] Speaker 1: So I think it taught me a good work ethic
[6:25] Speaker 1: and like I bought that into the business.
[6:26] Speaker 2: Love that.
[6:26] Speaker 4: And your husband's now working for the business as well.
[6:29] Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, when did he join.
[6:31] Speaker 1: I want to say two and a half years ago.
[6:34] Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, so somewhat recently.
[6:36] Speaker 1: It feels like a lifetime. He was always he was
[6:38] Speaker 1: always helping in the background from the day we met.
[6:41] Speaker 1: You know, we would talk about girls with gems all
[6:44] Speaker 1: the time, and then when I took over, he was
[6:46] Speaker 1: very much helping me with like Facebook ads and HR
[6:49] Speaker 1: and operations, and then it got to the point where
[6:52] Speaker 1: I was like, hey, you have to quit your job.
[6:53] Speaker 1: I literally can't do this anymore without.
[6:55] Speaker 4: Yeah, anyone listening who's unfamiliar with Girls with Gems or
[6:58] Speaker 4: Sneaky Link, can you just give us a quick synopsis
[7:01] Speaker 4: on what both are?
[7:03] Speaker 1: Absolutely so, Girls with Gems is a high end multi
[7:05] Speaker 1: graand boutique based in Double in Sydney, and Sneaky Link
[7:09] Speaker 1: is I guess our in house brand, but it really
[7:13] Speaker 1: is standing on its own two feet at the moment.
[7:14] Speaker 1: I would say it's one of Australia's leading brands right now.
[7:19] Speaker 2: And it stopped exclusively at it stopped exclusively Girls with Gems.
[7:23] Speaker 4: And you've got the app as well, which is pretty cool. Yeah,
[7:26] Speaker 4: the aff is really fun and I'd love to know
[7:28] Speaker 4: where did the name Sneaky Link come from?
[7:30] Speaker 1: Yes, me too. Okay, So we have lots of young
[7:33] Speaker 1: girls that work in our boutique and my mum would
[7:35] Speaker 1: always come in and she always like chats with them
[7:37] Speaker 1: and she's like, teach me words young people say, so
[7:39] Speaker 1: I can say them to my friend and then they
[7:40] Speaker 1: were like, okay, Sneaky Link. It's like the person you're
[7:44] Speaker 1: seeing on the side, like it's You're like, yeah, Oh
[7:48] Speaker 1: my gosh. That's so different to what I thought.
[7:50] Speaker 3: I thought it was like when you send a sneaky
[7:52] Speaker 3: link of something you like to someone and they're like,
[7:54] Speaker 3: here's no, that's.
[7:57] Speaker 1: No unless you like. So my mom like learned this
[7:59] Speaker 1: word and she would always tay like sneakling, sneakling, sneakling.
[8:01] Speaker 1: I'm like okay. And then when we were starting the brand,
[8:04] Speaker 1: it was quite different to what it is now. It's
[8:05] Speaker 1: like exclusive prints, and she's like, I think you shouldn't
[8:07] Speaker 1: call it sneaky link. Like everyone's like it's like a
[8:09] Speaker 1: secret brand. It's like your secret and I was like,
[8:11] Speaker 1: I really like that, and I love the idea of
[8:14] Speaker 1: the sneaky link and like this, Like we did a
[8:16] Speaker 1: snake emoji as our kind of like icon, and I
[8:19] Speaker 1: was like, I love this. This is so cool. So
[8:21] Speaker 1: that's what it actually means. It's different. Yeah, it's very different.
[8:24] Speaker 3: It's not trying to be like it's just it's obviously
[8:26] Speaker 3: unique to your story. It's a big part of your story.
[8:29] Speaker 3: And I love that it came from that relationship with
[8:30] Speaker 3: your mum. Yeah, yeah, that's amazing.
[8:32] Speaker 2: I love that with Sneaky Away, but with girls with Gems.
[8:35] Speaker 4: You've got so many cool brands on there as well,
[8:38] Speaker 4: so not just your own, but how do you choose
[8:40] Speaker 4: what brands you stock on girls with Gems?
[8:42] Speaker 1: I think when you have a multi brand boutique, like
[8:45] Speaker 1: it changes and you go through different stages and you
[8:48] Speaker 1: pick up different brands. I think right now is our
[8:49] Speaker 1: best brand mix that we've ever had. We have a
[8:52] Speaker 1: really nice mix of Australian designers, but then we also
[8:55] Speaker 1: have international designers that people would never have heard of
[8:58] Speaker 1: before until we stop them, like Babab, Miguel Coronell, and
[9:02] Speaker 1: then we like pick up little brands that we find
[9:04] Speaker 1: on Instagram and I'll just DM them and be like
[9:07] Speaker 1: I love your brand, can we house it? And they're like,
[9:09] Speaker 1: we haven't done wholesale yet, and it's like, let's do it.
[9:11] Speaker 3: It's very different to like the old model maybe of
[9:13] Speaker 3: like doing buying trips or sourcing going out to the
[9:16] Speaker 3: international market, but now you're just dming them directly.
[9:18] Speaker 1: Are they responsive in that way? I think also now,
[9:21] Speaker 1: given like we have a lot of followers and people
[9:24] Speaker 1: will often have come across us before, so when we
[9:27] Speaker 1: do dan they're like, oh my god, yeah, let's chat.
[9:29] Speaker 1: Amazing yeah, yeah, that's really unique. Yeah, but even with
[9:32] Speaker 1: Aussie brands like Benny, one of our biggest brands, they
[9:35] Speaker 1: were not in wholesale, and we were like, let's chat
[9:37] Speaker 1: and they were like oh nah. We were like no, no, no, no,
[9:40] Speaker 1: we think you need to speak to us, and then
[9:42] Speaker 1: we jumped on a call and like by the end
[9:43] Speaker 1: of the call, we were like done deal.
[9:45] Speaker 3: So you help develop that relationship with them and introduce them.
[9:48] Speaker 1: To the world. We are their only stockist now still,
[9:53] Speaker 1: but yes, we we kind of help brands come into
[9:56] Speaker 1: the wholesale market. Yeah.
[9:58] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[9:58] Speaker 3: You sound like the kind of woman who in business
[10:00] Speaker 3: and in life, you know, really follows your gut, an
[10:03] Speaker 3: example being obviously changing career paths to follow any little
[10:07] Speaker 3: voice inside your head that said I need to do this.
[10:10] Speaker 3: So in business, you need to make difficult decisions all
[10:14] Speaker 3: the time, maybe say no to opportunities that are presented
[10:17] Speaker 3: to you because you are trying to stick to a
[10:19] Speaker 3: different plan. Potentially, can you tell us about a time
[10:22] Speaker 3: when maybe you've had to say no to something that
[10:25] Speaker 3: might have been appealing to you but you knew it.
[10:27] Speaker 1: Wasn't right for you. Yeah, I feel like that's probably
[10:30] Speaker 1: come about now. More. I feel like at the start,
[10:35] Speaker 1: I said yes to everything, and I'm so glad I did,
[10:37] Speaker 1: because you can't find exactly who and what your business
[10:41] Speaker 1: is meant to be if you don't throw yourself at everything.
[10:44] Speaker 1: It takes a lot more time. Rather, I was just
[10:47] Speaker 1: like doing everything. I was like, struck every band, let's
[10:49] Speaker 1: just work this out as we go. Now more, because
[10:52] Speaker 1: I know exactly who we are and who we want
[10:55] Speaker 1: to be, I say no now yeah, And it's a
[11:00] Speaker 1: lot easier because I'm just so busy, Like I really
[11:03] Speaker 1: have to think is this worth the time? And if
[11:06] Speaker 1: it's not, then I have to say no. Yeah.
[11:07] Speaker 4: That's a testament where you've got to really with your business,
[11:10] Speaker 4: Like you know, you're looking for those opportunities.
[11:12] Speaker 2: Yes, yes, yes, at the beginning.
[11:13] Speaker 1: But I was always like hunting down those opportunities and
[11:16] Speaker 1: like reaching out to people and like always coming up
[11:19] Speaker 1: with like ideas where I could pull other people in.
[11:22] Speaker 1: So I was also part of wanting more and more
[11:24] Speaker 1: and more. But then I think you get to a
[11:25] Speaker 1: point where you're like, Okay, this is who we are.
[11:27] Speaker 1: Anything beyond this is a flying pig and we're not
[11:30] Speaker 1: We're not doing that. Yeah, it just doesn't make sense.
[11:32] Speaker 1: A flying pee. That's what my husband calls them, a
[11:35] Speaker 1: flying peak. And I'm like, yeah, He's like, then we're
[11:37] Speaker 1: not doing it. How can we use that? Like, how
[11:39] Speaker 1: can we apply that? Okay, say, like an offer came
[11:43] Speaker 1: through for a brand that was similar to sneaky link,
[11:47] Speaker 1: like a flying peak, Like it just doesn't make sense.
[11:49] Speaker 1: I can be really good brand, but like it's a
[11:50] Speaker 1: flying peak. Let's just focus on sneaking that terminology.
[11:53] Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, so you're visitors.
[12:04] Speaker 4: I remember seeing girls with gems on TikTok you're in covid,
[12:07] Speaker 4: and it was the same same but different sizes.
[12:09] Speaker 2: Yeah, someone was wearing size eight, someone was wearing size twelve.
[12:12] Speaker 4: And it's so funny hearing your voice now because it's
[12:14] Speaker 4: just so familiar with me.
[12:16] Speaker 2: Seeing you come up with my TikTok feed.
[12:18] Speaker 4: Talk to us about the growth on social media because
[12:21] Speaker 4: it's been such a big part of your.
[12:22] Speaker 2: Brand, and I guess any advice for our listeners. Firstly,
[12:27] Speaker 2: actually just starting with you're very confident. You're great in
[12:31] Speaker 2: front of the camera.
[12:32] Speaker 4: Anyone listening who maybe has their own business and isn't
[12:34] Speaker 4: as confident hates talking on camera. Do you have any
[12:37] Speaker 4: advice for them. Do you think it's how important is
[12:40] Speaker 4: social media for their business? Any tips on how to
[12:42] Speaker 4: get in front of the camera.
[12:43] Speaker 1: Yeah, I am very extroverted, but like I'm extroverted when
[12:50] Speaker 1: you put me in a social situation where I'm comfortable,
[12:53] Speaker 1: but on camera, I'm actually I wasn't comfortable. I didn't
[12:56] Speaker 1: like it, but I knew that when I would meet
[12:58] Speaker 1: people and have interactions, they would like the interaction. They
[13:02] Speaker 1: would laugh. I had really good rapport with customers in
[13:04] Speaker 1: store who wanted my styling advice. Like, I obviously knew
[13:08] Speaker 1: I could be good on camera, but I didn't like it,
[13:11] Speaker 1: but I knew it could work. So one day I
[13:12] Speaker 1: was just like to one of the girls, just film me.
[13:15] Speaker 1: Don't make it so serious, but just film me. And
[13:17] Speaker 1: she's like, okay. So we filmed this video, and I
[13:20] Speaker 1: told like ten of my friends, I'm going to start
[13:22] Speaker 1: posting these videos. I think I'm weird and awkward in them,
[13:24] Speaker 1: but I'm doing it and letting you know because that
[13:27] Speaker 1: will hold me responsible to keep doing it. That's so idea. Yeses,
[13:30] Speaker 1: So I'm doing it and I know it might be
[13:32] Speaker 1: really weird, but I don't care. And they were like cool,
[13:34] Speaker 1: good and obviously it took off. People loved it, and
[13:37] Speaker 1: obviously because people loved it, then I like doing it.
[13:40] Speaker 1: So yeah, that just can be dude. I think you
[13:43] Speaker 1: just need to like do it.
[13:44] Speaker 4: Yeah, And is that a big part of your job now?
[13:46] Speaker 4: Like are you on camera daily? Are you posting? Are
[13:49] Speaker 4: you filming daily?
[13:50] Speaker 1: It's changed. Last year we were filming like every single day,
[13:55] Speaker 1: but like it killed me and I can't do that anymore.
[13:58] Speaker 1: So no, we're not filming every day anymore. But last
[14:00] Speaker 1: year we were filming like ten to twenty hours a week.
[14:03] Speaker 3: Wow, yeah that's a big I was so burnedy time commitment.
[14:06] Speaker 3: It's like you're there worth it.
[14:09] Speaker 1: But then it got to a point where like it
[14:11] Speaker 1: just like I physically couldn't do it anymore. But I
[14:14] Speaker 1: think for people who aren't doing it but think they
[14:17] Speaker 1: want to, your first video is always going to be awkward.
[14:20] Speaker 1: It's not going to be perfect. I think people also
[14:22] Speaker 1: want to make it all perfect and like, edit, they're
[14:23] Speaker 1: real so perfectly. My first video was like a bloopers
[14:28] Speaker 1: weird thing of me showing how to wear this outfit
[14:30] Speaker 1: and it was such a bad video. It doesn't matter.
[14:32] Speaker 1: You just need to post the video. See this is
[14:34] Speaker 1: my problem. I overthink.
[14:37] Speaker 3: Over the editing, and then by the time you've labored
[14:40] Speaker 3: over the editing, like Instagram like bugs out and you
[14:42] Speaker 3: lose your work, you know, And I.
[14:44] Speaker 1: Just overly edited video. They just want they don't just
[14:48] Speaker 1: have to post it. That's what works better, right.
[14:50] Speaker 3: And it's like you said, I think you said before,
[14:52] Speaker 3: don't be so serious, like you know, and you're doing
[14:55] Speaker 3: these videos, it's going to be awkward, and it's like
[14:57] Speaker 3: you almost need to have that disclosure with them and
[14:59] Speaker 3: with yourself that it's like, I can do this. It
[15:02] Speaker 3: doesn't have to be perfect, it doesn't have to be right.
[15:04] Speaker 3: I'm just going to put it out there because I
[15:05] Speaker 3: keep trying to remind myself. It might be like a
[15:08] Speaker 3: few seconds that someone comes across it and then it's gone.
[15:12] Speaker 1: No one cares about what you're doing, not just you, everyone,
[15:16] Speaker 1: No one cares. No one cares about No one cares
[15:18] Speaker 1: about what I'm doing. Like they might for like one
[15:21] Speaker 1: second be like she's not cool in that video, but
[15:25] Speaker 1: like once you start getting lots of views, I think
[15:26] Speaker 1: you're cool. But so you just like can't care. You
[15:28] Speaker 1: just have to like keep making the videos. And just
[15:30] Speaker 1: it doesn't matter.
[15:32] Speaker 3: I heard a little tidbit the other day on social
[15:34] Speaker 3: media someone I follow an actor, and he said, like
[15:37] Speaker 3: everything good is on the other side of cringe, and
[15:39] Speaker 3: I was like, oh, so true, Like it has to
[15:42] Speaker 3: be cringe because you're trying, and it has to be
[15:45] Speaker 3: trying is cool, right, Like it's it's you know, to
[15:47] Speaker 3: make the effort, right, Like there's there's something in that
[15:50] Speaker 3: that shows you're making an effort and you want to succeed.
[15:53] Speaker 1: I think, okay, telling people that's something I've done in
[15:55] Speaker 1: business so much. I said, I'm making a brand. I
[16:00] Speaker 1: had no idea how I was going to make a brand.
[16:02] Speaker 1: I had literally less than an idea. But I started
[16:05] Speaker 1: telling all my friends I'm making a brand, and then
[16:09] Speaker 1: they'd be like, tell us about it, and I'm like,
[16:10] Speaker 1: I can't because I have no idea yet. But it's
[16:14] Speaker 1: going to happen, so you have to keep asking me
[16:16] Speaker 1: about it. So then I make sure that I do it. Wow.
[16:18] Speaker 2: And then it comes to your identity as well, like
[16:20] Speaker 2: you've become the fashion go to or like it is
[16:22] Speaker 2: who you are.
[16:23] Speaker 1: Yeah, fail yourself. That's also like just a tip if
[16:27] Speaker 1: anyone here's this don't just start saying you to do
[16:29] Speaker 1: things you're not going to do it, like to do it. Yeah, don't.
[16:33] Speaker 1: Don't just say you're going to do things if you're
[16:35] Speaker 1: not going to do them. Yeah, that's so.
[16:37] Speaker 4: You've currently got a collection out at the moment with
[16:39] Speaker 4: Jazz hand yep. Is she the first influencer that you've
[16:42] Speaker 4: done a collection with? Yeah?
[16:43] Speaker 2: Awesome? And how do you choose who you're going to
[16:46] Speaker 2: do this with?
[16:47] Speaker 4: Was it something where she approached you or you just
[16:49] Speaker 4: loved her and she was an organic Sneaky Link wearer.
[16:52] Speaker 1: Yes, she was an organic sneaky liing weer. So she
[16:55] Speaker 1: would always come and be like, I love this and
[16:56] Speaker 1: we would send it to her, and when it came
[16:58] Speaker 1: time to choose someone, she felt like the only person
[17:02] Speaker 1: we would do it with.
[17:03] Speaker 2: Just on that. Do you do lots of influencer sendouts
[17:06] Speaker 2: with Sneaky.
[17:06] Speaker 1: Link only recently?
[17:08] Speaker 4: Yeah?
[17:08] Speaker 2: Okay, yeah. Do you find they work?
[17:10] Speaker 1: It depends?
[17:10] Speaker 2: Yeah, it depends.
[17:12] Speaker 1: I think you also get to a stage where it's
[17:14] Speaker 1: like the only next step.
[17:15] Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, and if that you're choosing the right
[17:18] Speaker 4: people and it's almost like the Sneaky Link mews.
[17:20] Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not just into sales, but it's awareness.
[17:25] Speaker 2: I agree, yeah, Y, But with.
[17:27] Speaker 1: Jazz, it just felt so aligned and I wouldn't have
[17:30] Speaker 1: done it if it didn't feel like that. I don't
[17:33] Speaker 1: think I would have been able to work with someone
[17:35] Speaker 1: who wasn't as committed and passionate and excited about this
[17:38] Speaker 1: project as we were. It wouldn't have worked because our
[17:41] Speaker 1: team were like so passionate about this, and if we
[17:44] Speaker 1: had someone that didn't really care, I don't think it
[17:47] Speaker 1: would have worked as well. And I think that shows
[17:49] Speaker 1: in the content. You can really feel that Jazz wanted
[17:52] Speaker 1: to be there.
[17:52] Speaker 2: It's almost like she's part of the team.
[17:55] Speaker 1: We literally like I miss her this week that we're
[17:58] Speaker 1: not like talking, because we were talking every single day.
[18:00] Speaker 1: She helped us design the collection, like we would get
[18:02] Speaker 1: it this this top that I'm wearing, We sampled like
[18:05] Speaker 1: five times and it was something Jazz really wanted us
[18:06] Speaker 1: to get right. And like in the final like the
[18:10] Speaker 1: from the fourth sample to the fifth it was literally
[18:12] Speaker 1: removing three centimeters from here so you can make sure
[18:14] Speaker 1: you can wear it like at a nice length. But
[18:17] Speaker 1: like we focused on every single detail and Jazz was
[18:20] Speaker 1: along that journey with us, so she's so passionate about
[18:23] Speaker 1: the clothes because she helped design them. Yeah cool, but yeah,
[18:26] Speaker 1: it does feel like she's part of the team and
[18:27] Speaker 1: all the content.
[18:27] Speaker 2: It's like, I do love that your team is so involved.
[18:30] Speaker 4: Even like your campaign shots or what's on your website,
[18:32] Speaker 4: it's usually you or the team members.
[18:34] Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, it's so cool.
[18:36] Speaker 4: I love that that sort of employee first contents really
[18:40] Speaker 4: big at the moment.
[18:41] Speaker 2: So showing your tea.
[18:42] Speaker 1: You feel like we did that, like before we did that.
[18:44] Speaker 1: Else when you're asking before about our content during COVID,
[18:47] Speaker 1: we were the only people we had. You couldn't get
[18:49] Speaker 1: models during lockdown. Of course we were going to work,
[18:52] Speaker 1: so we would just it was like a product of
[18:55] Speaker 1: that limitation. Yeah, and then people would be like, you're
[18:57] Speaker 1: not showing enough size diversity. You get someone else. We're like,
[18:59] Speaker 1: we can't. Can we talk about that? Actually, can we
[19:01] Speaker 1: go into that?
[19:01] Speaker 3: Because you were just talking about the level of detail
[19:04] Speaker 3: you put into your designs and that feedback from the customer,
[19:07] Speaker 3: you know, feedback with Jazz, So size inclusivity is a
[19:10] Speaker 3: really big part of what you guys offer.
[19:13] Speaker 1: You go up to a size.
[19:14] Speaker 3: Twenty, which is amazing, Like that's real leadership in that space,
[19:18] Speaker 3: because as we all know, unfortunately very few Australian brands
[19:22] Speaker 3: stock a full size ranger are prepared to listen to
[19:24] Speaker 3: the feedback that there's the demand for that. Why do
[19:27] Speaker 3: you think that is and how has it kind of
[19:29] Speaker 3: benefited you guys to be more aware of that conversation
[19:33] Speaker 3: and actually cater to that customer.
[19:35] Speaker 1: I don't know why it is, and maybe I should
[19:36] Speaker 1: have a better answer because I own a multi brand boutique.
[19:40] Speaker 1: I haven't also thought too much about why no one
[19:43] Speaker 1: else is doing it. I just thought about why aren't
[19:44] Speaker 1: we doing it fair? And that's why we did it.
[19:47] Speaker 1: It is funny, though, I saw a video on TikTok
[19:50] Speaker 1: that was obviously aimed at us yesterday and it was like,
[19:53] Speaker 1: this is so ridiculous that brands are going to four excel.
[19:55] Speaker 1: People should consider having a healthier lifestyle. And I was like,
[19:58] Speaker 1: whoa that that is so tone deaf. My god, but
[20:02] Speaker 1: that video just came up, Yes, it came up on
[20:04] Speaker 1: my tik. It was obviously aimed at up because we
[20:06] Speaker 1: keep going on about four it okay, And I was like,
[20:08] Speaker 1: that's so tone deaf.
[20:10] Speaker 3: Whoa, Yeah, whoa, It's just such a layered thing, isn't it.
[20:14] Speaker 1: It is so layered, and I feel like when we
[20:16] Speaker 1: made the decision to do this, we didn't go into
[20:19] Speaker 1: such a layered conversation about the pros and cons. It
[20:21] Speaker 1: just felt natural. We always went to a size sixteen
[20:24] Speaker 1: from basically day one, which was more than most brands do.
[20:28] Speaker 1: So many Australian brands still got to size twelve.
[20:30] Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll stop.
[20:31] Speaker 3: It was.
[20:33] Speaker 1: Like try something on and I'm like, it doesn't fit me,
[20:34] Speaker 1: so you get away with it. Why not fit into
[20:36] Speaker 1: this Australian brand? That's so weird because like, I'm a
[20:38] Speaker 1: healthy Australian woman. Why don't I fit in.
[20:40] Speaker 3: Your average woman is a size sixteen exactly, I believe.
[20:44] Speaker 1: So. Yeah, was their customer feedback that they wanted that
[20:47] Speaker 1: range or to save that feedback yet, But when we
[20:51] Speaker 1: started talking to Jazz, it was already something on our
[20:53] Speaker 1: radar that we wanted to extend our sizing eventually. And
[20:56] Speaker 1: when we started speaking to Jazz, She's like, I really
[20:57] Speaker 1: want to make sure that you'd have like up to
[20:59] Speaker 1: a size twenty because people at the event will be
[21:01] Speaker 1: that size. And we were like, perfect, let's do it.
[21:04] Speaker 1: Because we wanted to it. Obviously you don't just flick
[21:07] Speaker 1: the on switch to bigger sizes that you need to
[21:10] Speaker 1: do things in design. So it's a lot of people
[21:12] Speaker 1: like why didn't you do it soon? It's like, okay,
[21:14] Speaker 1: just relax, like there's actually praising you have to consider,
[21:18] Speaker 1: and it's a.
[21:18] Speaker 2: Cost as well to you that people are unaware of it.
[21:20] Speaker 1: Yes, exactly, but it just felt like the perfect time
[21:23] Speaker 1: and I was more than happy to invest and do it,
[21:26] Speaker 1: and it made so much sense, and going forward we
[21:28] Speaker 1: will have those sizes. Yeah, it just made sense, and
[21:31] Speaker 1: we obviously will continue to extend the sizing. But people also,
[21:34] Speaker 1: we got so much backlash the day before the event
[21:37] Speaker 1: of people being like you think you're inclusive, You're not
[21:39] Speaker 1: inclusive at all. You should be going to a size
[21:41] Speaker 1: of twenty eight. And I'm like, okay, that's hard. All right,
[21:44] Speaker 1: let's not push brands down who are trying to make
[21:46] Speaker 1: a positive impact, because we're actually trying to make a
[21:49] Speaker 1: step forward and if people trolls are going to come
[21:52] Speaker 1: online and do that, then other brands are going to
[21:54] Speaker 1: be too scared to make a change. So let's just
[21:56] Speaker 1: be nice so true, like we're trying to make a
[21:58] Speaker 1: positive step.
[21:59] Speaker 3: Well, we commend you on that. That's great to see. Yeah,
[22:02] Speaker 3: and hopefully more brands follow your lead. Yeah all we'd
[22:05] Speaker 3: like to see.
[22:05] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[22:06] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[22:14] Speaker 4: I love how you're in this really interesting position where
[22:17] Speaker 4: you're dealing with so many brands.
[22:19] Speaker 2: You'd be exposed to their collections.
[22:21] Speaker 4: What's coming out for resorts during summer and beyond you'd
[22:24] Speaker 4: be looking next year. Can you give us and our
[22:27] Speaker 4: listeners any insight into any trends that are coming out
[22:30] Speaker 4: for summer in particular?
[22:32] Speaker 2: Like what are we going to be good?
[22:34] Speaker 1: Summer is so fun? Like I literally feel sick. Yesterday
[22:37] Speaker 1: we like printed all of our cads yesterday we were
[22:39] Speaker 1: like planning the next five months and I was like,
[22:41] Speaker 1: I feel through sick. I can't do this. There's too
[22:43] Speaker 1: many quack when cats go back the little drawings of
[22:47] Speaker 1: all the pieces. Okay, there's a lot of texture and clothing,
[22:50] Speaker 1: so like heaps of lace with silk, lots of jersey,
[22:55] Speaker 1: there's color, there's lots of monogramme. I feel like it's
[22:58] Speaker 1: all happening this summer. It's really exciting.
[23:01] Speaker 2: And even with Jazz hand the collection. Yeah, this chocolate brown.
[23:05] Speaker 1: Oh my god, chocolate brown is not going anyway.
[23:07] Speaker 4: So how did you do you look into trend forecasts
[23:10] Speaker 4: or are you exposed to that or is it more
[23:11] Speaker 4: you gut feeling you see what other brands are doing
[23:14] Speaker 4: and you jump on trends.
[23:15] Speaker 1: I think it's so weird because maybe a few years
[23:17] Speaker 1: ago I'd be like, how do all the brands know?
[23:18] Speaker 1: Like what because we go to showing them like they're
[23:21] Speaker 1: all the same thing. How do they know there is
[23:23] Speaker 1: a platform that tells you what is going to be trending?
[23:26] Speaker 1: We don't use it. We do so all you have
[23:29] Speaker 1: to do is look to the international market. So say,
[23:31] Speaker 1: for example, it's Paris Fashion Week, you look what's coming
[23:33] Speaker 1: down the wrong way. You then go on TikTok, see
[23:35] Speaker 1: what everyone's wearing, go on Instagram, gone Pinterest, and you
[23:38] Speaker 1: basically can like formulate what is going to be trending.
[23:41] Speaker 2: And you do that, you enjoy that as oh God,
[23:43] Speaker 2: love yeah, I love it.
[23:44] Speaker 1: I love that so much. Like I just troll the
[23:46] Speaker 1: internet and we have a sneakillant group on Instagram and
[23:48] Speaker 1: TikTok and I'm just sending like all day every day.
[23:51] Speaker 3: That because it's rather than going to yes, those trend
[23:54] Speaker 3: or authorities are predicting things, and that's based on data,
[23:57] Speaker 3: real life data, but that's more like you amassing your
[24:01] Speaker 3: own references, yes exactly, point of view and honing that
[24:05] Speaker 3: and then filtering that into a brand rather than using
[24:08] Speaker 3: like the overlord that tells you it's this color something
[24:11] Speaker 3: you can then kind of curate, you know, according to.
[24:14] Speaker 1: It's changed so much because now like Pantone color of
[24:16] Speaker 1: the Year is such a big thing, and like Pantone
[24:18] Speaker 1: will post it or they'll post like the colors, so
[24:21] Speaker 1: then they went wrong, but we're not wrong at all,
[24:25] Speaker 1: but like we will send each other all of those things,
[24:27] Speaker 1: and then we always have creative days off site where
[24:29] Speaker 1: we'll go somewhere and just like we'll often like go
[24:32] Speaker 1: to my apartment then like I make sure it's really clean,
[24:34] Speaker 1: and like you know, we'll have nothing on the table
[24:36] Speaker 1: and we just like talk about what we want to do.
[24:38] Speaker 1: We start scrolling through it. We'll go through Instagram first
[24:40] Speaker 1: and TikTok, and there's common themes that keep coming up
[24:43] Speaker 1: that all of us send and that will be the
[24:45] Speaker 1: base of our collection and then we just like build
[24:48] Speaker 1: on that and we'll be like, hey, we need three pants?
[24:49] Speaker 1: What pants? And we kind of go through.
[24:51] Speaker 3: It's a conversation, a dialogue with your team.
[24:55] Speaker 1: I'm not sure how the brands do it, Like I've
[24:56] Speaker 1: got to assume it's the same way because we're.
[24:59] Speaker 2: All coming like as well.
[25:01] Speaker 4: So you can do reactive exactly what's there and then
[25:05] Speaker 4: you can create it and like the turnarounds pretty quick
[25:07] Speaker 4: these days.
[25:08] Speaker 2: Yeah, somewhat, yeah, somewhat.
[25:09] Speaker 1: I mean this Jazz Collection was in the works of
[25:12] Speaker 1: like months and months, but it really hit and we
[25:14] Speaker 1: just got it right.
[25:15] Speaker 4: Yeah, amazing because even like the jawts and the sheer
[25:18] Speaker 4: as well.
[25:19] Speaker 2: Yeah, it's beautiful on that.
[25:21] Speaker 3: Like, if there's one just talking to trends, sheer is
[25:24] Speaker 3: such a dominant trend continues to be. If there's like,
[25:27] Speaker 3: perhaps for our listener, like what is the kind of
[25:30] Speaker 3: key piece in shear, Like is it a skirt?
[25:33] Speaker 1: Is it a top?
[25:33] Speaker 3: Like if they're just going to invest in this trend
[25:35] Speaker 3: in one way, what would you suggest because it's a
[25:37] Speaker 3: bit of a tricky trend.
[25:38] Speaker 1: Okay, It's really funny because in the Jazz Collection, we
[25:41] Speaker 1: have twenty four pieces and the top product was a
[25:43] Speaker 1: sheer top and it sold out in about thirty minutes.
[25:46] Speaker 1: It's amazing. It's a chocolate shear top. It's sleeveless, it's
[25:50] Speaker 1: high neck, it's got a zip at the back, cut
[25:51] Speaker 1: on the shoulders, asymmetric hemline, and it's got a string
[25:55] Speaker 1: on the sides that you can tie at the back
[25:56] Speaker 1: or the front. When we got it one week before launch,
[25:59] Speaker 1: I put it on and it was a bit tight
[26:00] Speaker 1: over my bum. I have a Greek bump. So I
[26:03] Speaker 1: was like, that's not good. Because we're extending suicide twenty.
[26:08] Speaker 1: This is going to be an issue for people if
[26:10] Speaker 1: they have a big bum. So I was like, to
[26:11] Speaker 1: the designer, cut my top and see if it works.
[26:13] Speaker 1: So we cut the top and like, we cut it
[26:15] Speaker 1: to here, and it looked really to your waist, to
[26:17] Speaker 1: my waist, what do you mean you cut it? Cut
[26:19] Speaker 1: it to create like event I've actually got a video
[26:22] Speaker 1: posted on TikTok. Sure, yeah, to.
[26:24] Speaker 3: Create like a an opening on the side.
[26:27] Speaker 1: We did that and it looked so good. So we
[26:29] Speaker 1: called the factory. Our bolk stock was about to leave
[26:33] Speaker 1: and we were like, hold the stock, you need to
[26:35] Speaker 1: fix it. And they fixed it, and I'm so glad
[26:37] Speaker 1: they did because it was the best selling top. We've
[26:39] Speaker 1: now reordered so many units, but I think with sheer
[26:43] Speaker 1: it can't be all over shere. Well, for some people
[26:46] Speaker 1: it can. We have a matching see skirt, so some
[26:48] Speaker 1: people will wear that, but I think it's like adding
[26:51] Speaker 1: one piece of sheer where you don't have to reveal
[26:53] Speaker 1: your whole body. So with that shear top, it just
[26:55] Speaker 1: so happened that the label a lingerie brand that wet Stock,
[26:58] Speaker 1: made a perfectly matched brown bra and we have sold
[27:01] Speaker 1: hundreds of this bra now because we styled it under
[27:04] Speaker 1: the top, So everyone's just buying the bra on the
[27:06] Speaker 1: top because it's it's perfectly matches. I don't have to
[27:08] Speaker 1: think about it. And I think when people are styling it,
[27:11] Speaker 1: because we styled it with like drawts, which makes it
[27:14] Speaker 1: look elevated and cool, it doesn't look trashy that it's
[27:16] Speaker 1: see through. So I think it's the fact that we
[27:21] Speaker 1: styled it with the undergarments so people didn't have to think,
[27:23] Speaker 1: and that we styled it in a way that was
[27:25] Speaker 1: very like upmarket and cheek. Yeah, she's smart, learning so much.
[27:30] Speaker 4: I find it really tricky with sizing and especially with
[27:32] Speaker 4: things being oversized and just knowing the right size. What
[27:35] Speaker 4: sort of tips do you have for anyone, whether it
[27:37] Speaker 4: be shopping in person or online, knowing what is actually
[27:40] Speaker 4: the right fit for you, Like is it knowing your
[27:44] Speaker 4: size or is it how it fits?
[27:45] Speaker 2: How do you know what feels right?
[27:47] Speaker 1: Okay, So we actually have a segment on Instagram and
[27:50] Speaker 1: it's called size Matters, and I'm going to tell you why.
[27:52] Speaker 1: But what it really means is size doesn't matter. The
[27:55] Speaker 1: size on the tag doesn't matter. What matters is the
[27:58] Speaker 1: size that you're wearing flatters your body. So I can
[28:02] Speaker 1: be between like I can be like a small top
[28:04] Speaker 1: and an extra large pant. I never care about the
[28:07] Speaker 1: label because I know I'm in fittings. I know that
[28:10] Speaker 1: it's not universal that a size medium as a size
[28:12] Speaker 1: medium in terms of measurements. So you can't worry about
[28:14] Speaker 1: the size and the tag. You actually need to put
[28:16] Speaker 1: it on and be like does this fit me the best?
[28:17] Speaker 1: Because I might put on a medium and then large,
[28:19] Speaker 1: and the large looks way better on me and actually
[28:22] Speaker 1: makes me look like a medium, but I'm wearing a large.
[28:25] Speaker 1: And I think that's what why people gravitated to girls
[28:27] Speaker 1: with gems content so much, and to the same same
[28:30] Speaker 1: with different size, Because often when I was standing up
[28:32] Speaker 1: there on the steps. I didn't look like what people
[28:36] Speaker 1: assumed a size twelve looks like. They were always like,
[28:39] Speaker 1: you're not a twelve, and I'm like, yeah i am.
[28:40] Speaker 1: I'm actually just showing you how to dress and what's
[28:43] Speaker 1: flattering and what's flattering. And I was often wearing a
[28:46] Speaker 1: size twelve or fourteen pants and then a smaller medium top,
[28:49] Speaker 1: and I was always flattering my waist because I have
[28:51] Speaker 1: a small waist, and then wearing things and more oversized
[28:54] Speaker 1: around my bum. So, you know, grat just but.
[28:57] Speaker 4: A sizing up if you're unsure online, like if you
[29:00] Speaker 4: sort of, I find.
[29:01] Speaker 2: I'm often in between sizes.
[29:03] Speaker 1: Which always a hard I don't think always like I think.
[29:06] Speaker 1: I think that's where you need to read the product
[29:08] Speaker 1: descriptions and where brands have a duty to put more information. So,
[29:12] Speaker 1: for example, in every single video, we say our size.
[29:15] Speaker 1: So I will say I'm wearing a size twelve pants
[29:19] Speaker 1: and I'm wearing a size small top, and then you
[29:21] Speaker 1: can understand that from that why I've done that, I
[29:24] Speaker 1: guess if you keep watching.
[29:25] Speaker 4: I love it when brands say things like this, this
[29:27] Speaker 4: runs small, yeah, this runs.
[29:28] Speaker 3: Yeah exactly, so helpful, yes, and like knowing what size
[29:31] Speaker 3: you are in that brand versus a different brands. Like
[29:33] Speaker 3: you said before, people treat sizing like it's universal, it's not.
[29:36] Speaker 3: And also there's something called vanity sizing where certain brands
[29:40] Speaker 3: they'll make the garments bigger, but they'll the size.
[29:43] Speaker 1: On the tag will be smaller. Does that make sense?
[29:46] Speaker 3: Sizing right so that you think you're getting which is
[29:48] Speaker 3: really manipulative. Can I just say but that you know
[29:51] Speaker 3: that kind of confuses even more. So you need to
[29:53] Speaker 3: know what size you are in the particular brand like
[29:55] Speaker 3: I can. Like there's denim brands. We're talking about denim before,
[29:58] Speaker 3: Like I could be a ten and a six, you know,
[30:01] Speaker 3: across different denimits.
[30:03] Speaker 1: So just so hard, like being in the fittings, I'm
[30:05] Speaker 1: not sure it's always meant to me manipulate. Sometimes you
[30:08] Speaker 1: just get it wrong, Like you can get a tech
[30:10] Speaker 1: paccent back and you're signing off and we've had pants
[30:12] Speaker 1: come in that are whole sized wrong and we're like,
[30:14] Speaker 1: and it's body can't do anything about it, and it
[30:16] Speaker 1: would look like manipulation, but it's not. We've made a mistake,
[30:19] Speaker 1: but we need to sell it.
[30:20] Speaker 3: Like and this is certainly ignize that it's just like
[30:24] Speaker 3: it can be as insistence consistency.
[30:27] Speaker 1: There's no universal sizing so in terms of measurement. So
[30:31] Speaker 1: I think it's just different brands, and brands just have
[30:33] Speaker 1: a duty to give as much information as they can. Yeah,
[30:36] Speaker 1: or you just come in store and get styled fu. Yeah.
[30:40] Speaker 1: The last time I was.
[30:41] Speaker 2: There, I bought yeah love for my a girlfriend for
[30:44] Speaker 2: a president. But it was just so nice seeing the
[30:48] Speaker 2: faces that you see on social media.
[30:50] Speaker 1: Yes, lots of fun. Can we come in you can style? Yes,
[30:53] Speaker 1: that was so much fun. I'm committing now olves accountable.
[30:58] Speaker 4: Like you said at the start of the episode when
[31:00] Speaker 4: the ships hops in, Yeah, oh my god.
[31:03] Speaker 1: Yes, in a few chocolates you color tem Oh thanks.
[31:05] Speaker 3: I don't know about that, but I'm very inspired by
[31:08] Speaker 3: this top that you're wearing. Yeah, take like, take us
[31:11] Speaker 3: through the outfit.
[31:12] Speaker 1: Is this all from It's all Jazz. I'm wearing the
[31:14] Speaker 1: Jazz tea in brown size medium, lovely. I'm wearing my
[31:17] Speaker 1: Killer Mark belts. Then I'm wearing jaworts, and then I'm
[31:19] Speaker 1: wearing que shoes that match my top and they're sing shoes.
[31:22] Speaker 3: So are they from your brand? So just to like,
[31:25] Speaker 3: can you explain what they are. Oh, she's going to
[31:27] Speaker 3: hold them up.
[31:27] Speaker 1: I love when people do this. It's a suede like
[31:33] Speaker 1: backless mule. Yeah, and it's so cool and I wear
[31:35] Speaker 1: them every day. I never thought i'd be the gal
[31:37] Speaker 1: that wears heels on.
[31:38] Speaker 3: Like, I have one more pressing question for you. This
[31:42] Speaker 3: is really important to me. You were wearing Bermuda shorts. Yeah,
[31:46] Speaker 3: I know they look sick on you. Okay, they look
[31:48] Speaker 3: so good. I am still I said this is to
[31:51] Speaker 3: Lee Campbell on.
[31:51] Speaker 1: The podcast months and months ago.
[31:54] Speaker 3: I'm not there yet, Like I can't do it, and
[31:55] Speaker 3: maybe because you're like reasonably tall.
[31:58] Speaker 1: I just want you to know I also hated Bermuda shorts,
[32:00] Speaker 1: so what got you there?
[32:01] Speaker 3: Because I can't and you wear them, I can't do it.
[32:04] Speaker 1: When we first started seeing the trend, I was like,
[32:06] Speaker 1: oh my to hate it, like I hate it, and
[32:09] Speaker 1: then Judge, I want, I want, and I was like,
[32:13] Speaker 1: you make them looker shorts, and I was like okay,
[32:16] Speaker 1: and like when we're first trying them on we're getting samples,
[32:18] Speaker 1: I was like, I hate them so much.
[32:20] Speaker 2: If you tried them on.
[32:21] Speaker 1: And now as soon as I put them on, when
[32:23] Speaker 1: we got the size, the fit right. I was like,
[32:26] Speaker 1: these are the best Bermutera shorts I've ever tried on,
[32:29] Speaker 1: and now I wear them so much.
[32:31] Speaker 3: Well, there you go, So what's the treat on so
[32:33] Speaker 3: like for our audience? You know that might be like me,
[32:36] Speaker 3: that is still not yeah yet, Like, how do you
[32:39] Speaker 3: like integrate that into your daily style? Is it as
[32:41] Speaker 3: simple as just throwing on a T shirt? Like you've
[32:43] Speaker 3: really for me, You've really elevated them.
[32:45] Speaker 1: You need to wear something tight on top. In my opinion,
[32:47] Speaker 1: okay to start, you can then go oversize, but I
[32:49] Speaker 1: feel like that could be like too overwhelming to start,
[32:51] Speaker 1: so I would start with like a white singlet.
[32:53] Speaker 4: And add a little bells maybe yeah, like yours are
[32:57] Speaker 4: nice and stream some that have a lot of fabric
[32:59] Speaker 4: and it's but yeah.
[33:01] Speaker 1: I don't like the pleating all it's too much. I
[33:04] Speaker 1: like really straight legs like pants. But there you go.
[33:08] Speaker 1: You have to come from the expert. I do I
[33:10] Speaker 1: need to come in store amazed. We're going to do that. Well,
