This week, Tam and Lucinda are diving deep into the shift happening in our wardrobes, starting with the dramatic "death" of logomania. Are we officially done with visual signposting, or are fakes just making luxury look a little too accessible? They break down the rise of "Borecore" and the "West Village Girl" aesthetic championed by style icons like Zoe Kravitz and Jennifer Lawrence. Plus, the girls share their golden rules for making affordable pieces look incredibly elevated (hint: it's all in the buttons and tailoring). And stick around for Bougie to Budget, where Lucinda introduces the asymmetric overlay pants you need for winter, and Tam brings her ultimate list of Western-inspired denim with a subtle edge. [0:01] Speaker 1: Whoever said orange is a new pink, but seriously.
[0:04] Speaker 2: Disturbed Laurels for spraying groundbreaking.
[0:07] Speaker 3: Oh my god, you have.
[0:08] Speaker 1: To do it.
[0:09] Speaker 2: You live for fashion.
[0:12] Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome to Nothing to Wear, the podcast that
[0:15] Speaker 1: solves fashion problems and levels up your wardrobe. I'm Tamorrow
[0:18] Speaker 1: Holland I'm Mamma MIA's fashion editor.
[0:20] Speaker 3: And I only send to Picket trend forecaster and content creator.
[0:24] Speaker 3: Each week we talk all things fashion, whether it's helping
[0:28] Speaker 3: you decide what is and isn't worth adding to your wardrobe,
[0:30] Speaker 3: or maybe it's just helping you figure out how to
[0:33] Speaker 3: make the most out of the clothes you're already own.
[0:35] Speaker 3: Hello teh, Hello.
[0:36] Speaker 1: My friend, you're giving kind of like a Grandpa Core
[0:40] Speaker 1: aesthetic today. I'm loving this fit. Take me through it.
[0:42] Speaker 3: That's literally what I was going for. Grandpa vibes, Grandpa Core.
[0:46] Speaker 3: I don't know. I woke up this morning sort of
[0:48] Speaker 3: feeling this vibe and ran with it. So I've just
[0:50] Speaker 3: got some Dad loafers on my husband's green socks.
[0:53] Speaker 1: You the execution of the loafers is perfect. I'm really
[0:56] Speaker 1: struggling with loafers right now, so I need someone to
[0:58] Speaker 1: help me.
[0:59] Speaker 3: And warmers well with this cold weather. Yeah, speaking my feetus,
[1:02] Speaker 3: not me.
[1:02] Speaker 1: Still in thongs. I'm holding on.
[1:05] Speaker 3: But I've just got some baggy sube jeans on brown belt.
[1:09] Speaker 3: This is sub as well. Actually it's a tank top. Yeah,
[1:12] Speaker 3: a little Cardi green party, but yeah, going for the
[1:15] Speaker 3: whole Grandpa vibe. Look, I suppose tell me about you
[1:18] Speaker 3: tell me about this jacket. I'm really loving it.
[1:20] Speaker 1: I'm wearing like a leather jacket that I've buttoned up
[1:24] Speaker 1: as essentially as a top with some with some baggy
[1:27] Speaker 1: gray black jeans. But the top is actually it's borrowed
[1:30] Speaker 1: from my mother's closet. Yes, thanks mum.
[1:34] Speaker 3: And what color would you call that?
[1:36] Speaker 1: Fawn? Mushroom love, mushroomy fawn. So what are we talking
[1:41] Speaker 1: about today?
[1:42] Speaker 3: So today we're tackling the big questions. We're going to
[1:45] Speaker 3: sink our teeth into some really interesting topics. Firstly, we're
[1:47] Speaker 3: looking at the death of logo mania, very dramatic. We're
[1:52] Speaker 3: also looking at is looking expensive starting to look cheap? Indeed,
[1:56] Speaker 3: also the rise of the borecore movement. What that is
[2:00] Speaker 3: and how does it affect our style?
[2:02] Speaker 1: That's right, and if you're anything like us, you've been
[2:04] Speaker 1: struggling to find jenes for the season. Aheads. So in
[2:07] Speaker 1: bougie to budget, I've got three pairs of denim that
[2:10] Speaker 1: I'm loving, but they have a little twist. Yeah, so
[2:13] Speaker 1: stay tuned for that awesome.
[2:15] Speaker 3: Can't wait? All right, Well, Tam, I would love to
[2:17] Speaker 3: hear what's been going on in your fashion orbit, your world.
[2:20] Speaker 3: What have you been seeing?
[2:21] Speaker 1: All the luxury brands are collaborating with other shoe brands
[2:24] Speaker 1: that we know and love, so making them slightly more accessible.
[2:29] Speaker 1: So just don't yeah, I know, right, like a little
[2:31] Speaker 1: bit more affordable. So a couple that I want to
[2:33] Speaker 1: list off this is everywhere on my feet right now.
[2:36] Speaker 1: I don't know about you, but I'm seeing so many
[2:38] Speaker 1: so I want to name drop a few. The first
[2:40] Speaker 1: one that just went gangbusters Isabelle Morn with Havianas. Did
[2:45] Speaker 1: you see this?
[2:45] Speaker 3: I haven't.
[2:46] Speaker 1: It was like blink in your misst So they're sold out.
[2:49] Speaker 1: I mean I don't. I think there's like maybe some
[2:51] Speaker 1: select sizes available. Pretty much sold out. They sold through
[2:55] Speaker 1: really quickly. When I last looked, there was like one
[2:58] Speaker 1: size available and I almost bought a pair for myself,
[3:02] Speaker 1: and then I just hesitated at the price. I'm going
[3:04] Speaker 1: to tell you why, So let me just break it down.
[3:06] Speaker 1: So Havianas revealed a collab with the French luxury fashion
[3:10] Speaker 1: house known for its sort of boho aesthetic, Isabelle Morn
[3:13] Speaker 1: and they had these Tai Die print rubber thongs, so
[3:16] Speaker 1: your traditional Havianas just with a little Isabelle Morn inspired twist.
[3:20] Speaker 1: There are one hundred and sixty eight dollars, so that's
[3:22] Speaker 1: where I kind of go, Okay, yeah, it's really cool.
[3:25] Speaker 1: I love Isabelle Moran, but one hundred and sixty eight
[3:27] Speaker 1: dollars is a lot for a Haviana's, okay, So I
[3:29] Speaker 1: couldn't quite pull the pin there. But they also did
[3:32] Speaker 1: a really great style that was a bit more elevated.
[3:35] Speaker 1: It was like a puffy leather strap with embellishment again
[3:39] Speaker 1: on that rubber thong, and those sold through really fast.
[3:42] Speaker 1: So super cool. I think we're going to see more
[3:44] Speaker 1: flip flops. Obviously, that's the you know, it's the American
[3:46] Speaker 1: in eurosummer right now. So to that end, we also
[3:49] Speaker 1: have seen Ghani, the Danish scandy brand like first word
[3:54] Speaker 1: in scandy cool. They have collaborated with Melissa, which is
[3:58] Speaker 1: known for its rubber foot. It's kind of iconic in
[4:01] Speaker 1: that space. And they've done another thong collab, but this
[4:05] Speaker 1: is jelly kitten heel thongs as well as just flip flops,
[4:08] Speaker 1: and they have this signature rooshed jelly strap which is
[4:12] Speaker 1: really cute. And we're talking like two hundred and sixty
[4:14] Speaker 1: dollars for thong heels, which you know, and it's a
[4:18] Speaker 1: fairly accessible price.
[4:19] Speaker 3: You do sort of go, oh, that's not too bad,
[4:21] Speaker 3: but then you do remember it is just a rubber thong.
[4:24] Speaker 1: Correct, But then I mean Christopher Esba, one of the
[4:27] Speaker 1: biggest you know, Australian designers, has a cult rubber shoe,
[4:31] Speaker 1: a flip flop that's somewhere in the realm of like
[4:34] Speaker 1: several hundred dollars. People are buying that shoe. So I
[4:38] Speaker 1: suppose that's the price point that you pay for a
[4:40] Speaker 1: luxury rubber thong these days.
[4:42] Speaker 3: The first two brands that you mentioned, Haviana's did twenty
[4:45] Speaker 3: twenty four collaboration with Dolchin Kobana. Did you see those
[4:48] Speaker 3: I did.
[4:48] Speaker 1: They were very dult cha.
[4:50] Speaker 3: And the leopard print, the zebra, the embezzlements and whatnot.
[4:55] Speaker 3: They're still.
[4:58] Speaker 1: Bepp Yeah, so they're still doing it.
[5:03] Speaker 3: They're still doing it? Is it? Fel Maura? They also
[5:06] Speaker 3: parted with Converts. Have you seen those? I did? Yeah,
[5:08] Speaker 3: and you think I really wanted to get something. I
[5:10] Speaker 3: think the price point was about six hundred Yeah, but
[5:13] Speaker 3: I just can't.
[5:16] Speaker 2: I love. Yeah.
[5:17] Speaker 1: I like that they're bringing them to Australia because famously
[5:19] Speaker 1: Haviana's in the past, they haven't stopped these collabs here,
[5:22] Speaker 1: so it's great that we got an option to shop them.
[5:24] Speaker 1: The last one I want to name drop here is J.
[5:26] Speaker 1: W Anderson with the Italian heritage sports where brand Diadora.
[5:31] Speaker 1: So they've done a range of colored Swede sneakers.
[5:35] Speaker 3: With the J.
[5:35] Speaker 1: W Anderson logo and lasers. They're really cute. They are
[5:39] Speaker 1: so so cool. They're seven hundred and sixty dollars and
[5:42] Speaker 1: they've almost sold it.
[5:43] Speaker 3: They look amazing. It's like the evolution of the new
[5:46] Speaker 3: new New Balance, don't you think, Yes, very similar version
[5:49] Speaker 3: of that. Yeah, those awesome. Well, speaking of shoes, have
[5:53] Speaker 3: you noticed that there's just so many weird, freaky shoes
[5:57] Speaker 3: out at the moment, big time, big time, right freaky shoes.
[6:00] Speaker 3: There's Mandy Lee, She's a fashion commentator on TikTok. Do
[6:04] Speaker 3: you follow her?
[6:04] Speaker 1: She's not on TikTok.
[6:05] Speaker 3: I know she sort of started coining it freaky shoes,
[6:10] Speaker 3: but they seem to be everywhere and I can't not
[6:12] Speaker 3: firstly mention the Chanelle cruise collection. Did you see these shoes?
[6:17] Speaker 1: Of course these went so immediately viral And.
[6:20] Speaker 3: If anyone's listening, what's a cruise collection? It's interchangeable with
[6:23] Speaker 3: the word resort. So in the States they like to
[6:26] Speaker 3: call the resort collection cruise I suppose because people go
[6:30] Speaker 3: on cruises in summer.
[6:32] Speaker 1: And people who can afford these kinds of clothes would
[6:34] Speaker 1: be the type to go on yachts.
[6:36] Speaker 3: Yeah, but I.
[6:36] Speaker 1: Don't know is that a stretch?
[6:38] Speaker 3: So Chanelle had their cruise collection a couple of weeks ago.
[6:41] Speaker 3: It was in Beirits from It's incredible, but they had
[6:44] Speaker 3: these shoes about Terblazi's doing some amazing things with the brand.
[6:47] Speaker 3: But these I don't know barely their shoes. It's basically
[6:50] Speaker 3: a heel cup that just covers the heel. There's nothing
[6:54] Speaker 3: on the front of the shoe. Vogue actually said a
[6:57] Speaker 3: really funny comment. They said, it's basically a shoe that's
[6:59] Speaker 3: been circled size because there's just no front end of
[7:02] Speaker 3: the show.
[7:02] Speaker 1: And I was thinking about like the practical end use
[7:05] Speaker 1: of this shoe, and I'm like, I guess if you
[7:07] Speaker 1: were on a yacht, you could pat around on the
[7:10] Speaker 1: yacht without scuffing the I don't know you go on
[7:14] Speaker 1: yachts sometimes, would you wear this shoe?
[7:16] Speaker 3: Well, I was like, are they actually going to create
[7:18] Speaker 3: the shoe? Was it just for the runway? But they will,
[7:21] Speaker 3: they will.
[7:21] Speaker 1: Oh they will. People will buy this shoe and they're
[7:24] Speaker 1: the kind of people that don't need to think about
[7:26] Speaker 1: really where they're I mean, I guess if you're like
[7:28] Speaker 1: at a fancy beach club in the south of France
[7:30] Speaker 1: or something, and you're just walking around on the sand's going.
[7:33] Speaker 3: From a vio to the restaurant, walking across.
[7:35] Speaker 1: The You're not on the road. You're not getting a
[7:38] Speaker 1: cab like this is. This is purely fantasy.
[7:41] Speaker 3: And that's so that's luxury fashion. Brown Channel. We've seen
[7:44] Speaker 3: Loaba their balloon shoes twenty four with Jonathan Anderson. The
[7:49] Speaker 3: Rain has creative director, but he had this obsession with balloons.
[7:52] Speaker 3: He made a black sort of kid clothes Toelick Kitt
[7:55] Speaker 3: and Hill, and it was almost like the heel was
[7:58] Speaker 3: made from a balloon that you were sort of stiffed,
[8:00] Speaker 3: so it looks squashed as you.
[8:01] Speaker 1: Were a deflated balloon. I would almost say that he
[8:04] Speaker 1: is like the instigator of this trend, like I feel
[8:08] Speaker 1: like before that obviously that we've seen other designers play
[8:11] Speaker 1: in this territory before, but he really made it mainstream.
[8:14] Speaker 1: Now other designers are really doing this on a more
[8:17] Speaker 1: commercial level.
[8:18] Speaker 3: So true, and we're.
[8:19] Speaker 1: Seeing it infiltrate in Australian brands are experimenting with this
[8:23] Speaker 1: at the moment. Brands like Alias may have done fluffy shoes,
[8:27] Speaker 1: and Miller and Mark done Yes shoes. Yeah.
[8:31] Speaker 3: I love low wav Is shoes. They are so experimental.
[8:34] Speaker 3: I have to mention there was one. Did you see
[8:36] Speaker 3: one of his shoes where it was covered in just
[8:38] Speaker 3: deflated balloons? I did, And everyone's just because they're so expensive,
[8:42] Speaker 3: like two thousand dollars. People just recreating their own with
[8:45] Speaker 3: a hot gun on TikTok and I look almost the same.
[8:48] Speaker 1: Love that. Why not get crafty?
[8:50] Speaker 3: I just also want to quickly mention did you see
[8:52] Speaker 3: the Diesel and Tinder collaborations speaking at colabs, No We've
[8:57] Speaker 3: been talking about like fashion brand versus fashion brand collaborating,
[9:01] Speaker 3: but this is interesting where it's a fashion denim brand,
[9:04] Speaker 3: Diesel partnering with the dating app Tinder to create a
[9:07] Speaker 3: limited edition seventeen piece collection. They're expanding outside of denim.
[9:12] Speaker 3: It's not just denim. They're doing some intimates as well. Okay,
[9:15] Speaker 3: and it's just an interesting side of the times. I suppose.
[9:18] Speaker 3: The creative director at Diesel mentioned that working with Tinder
[9:22] Speaker 3: reflects a shared attitude, no rules, no fixed definitions, just
[9:25] Speaker 3: the freedom to connect on your own terms. And I
[9:28] Speaker 3: kind of think that's a little bit waffly. I love
[9:32] Speaker 3: brand collads. You know, you can get a lot out
[9:33] Speaker 3: of them. You get access and exposure to another brand's
[9:37] Speaker 3: database and customer. Is it just that Diesel needed to
[9:41] Speaker 3: get bankrolled and a tech brand was there.
[9:44] Speaker 1: It's interesting. Glenn Martin's who's the creative director of Diesel,
[9:48] Speaker 1: is also heading up Marjella, So he's one of the
[9:52] Speaker 1: most interesting names working in fashion at the moment, and
[9:55] Speaker 1: he's kind of revered as bringing Diesel back into currency moment,
[10:00] Speaker 1: like making Diesel cool again. And I've actually been watching
[10:03] Speaker 1: someone who you know, watches all the runway shows every
[10:06] Speaker 1: season is very invested in what's happening on the runway.
[10:09] Speaker 1: Diesel is one of the most interesting shows at the moment,
[10:11] Speaker 1: as well as marj Ella. So I'm really into what
[10:14] Speaker 1: Diesel is doing and I hadn't seen this, so I
[10:17] Speaker 1: think it makes a lot of sense for the brand
[10:19] Speaker 1: to be backing Pride and that's kind of the Yeah,
[10:22] Speaker 1: that's boundaries as well. Yeah, it makes a lot of sense. Awesome,
[10:25] Speaker 1: Yeah to some sad news now rip to Emily and
[10:31] Speaker 1: PARI did you see this?
[10:33] Speaker 3: Okay? I would love to warn with you, dam but
[10:35] Speaker 3: I have to be honest with you. I have never
[10:37] Speaker 3: watched an episode of Emily.
[10:39] Speaker 1: I'm so sorry.
[10:41] Speaker 3: I feel that was to say that on Mike, But yeah.
[10:43] Speaker 1: Okay, so what you're telling me is you've never watched
[10:46] Speaker 1: an episode of the Netflix show Emily in Paris in
[10:50] Speaker 1: five seasons. No, this is disappointing. I've watched sure the
[10:53] Speaker 1: Drive to Survive though. Yeah, no, that doesn't surprise me. Okay,
[10:57] Speaker 1: that's yeah, all right.
[10:58] Speaker 3: I like some of the cool fashions.
[11:01] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, So the reason I love Emily in Paris
[11:05] Speaker 1: is it's such a fun, escapist fashion watch. Like initially
[11:09] Speaker 1: it was Patricia Field working on the costuming, which was
[11:12] Speaker 1: just like a moth to a flame for me. Famously,
[11:14] Speaker 1: she did Sex and the City the costuming, and yeah,
[11:17] Speaker 1: a different designer took over in the latter seasons, but
[11:21] Speaker 1: it kept that same amazing costuming aesthetic all the way
[11:24] Speaker 1: through the show, and it's just that fantasy watch. It's
[11:28] Speaker 1: been so much fun. Every season I've recapped the fashion
[11:32] Speaker 1: on Instagram and my audience has been like right there
[11:35] Speaker 1: with me, like, whoa, this stuff's easy. Oh my god,
[11:39] Speaker 1: I'm going to miss it so much. I can't believe
[11:40] Speaker 1: this is the end, Like I would happily watch seventeen
[11:44] Speaker 1: more seasons of this show.
[11:45] Speaker 3: Have you ever tried to recreate some of the outfits
[11:47] Speaker 3: that you've seen on the show.
[11:48] Speaker 1: No, No, because that would be insane. I mean, if
[11:51] Speaker 1: there's anyone that I wanted to dress like, it would
[11:54] Speaker 1: absolutely be Sylvie. So she's the marketing but I feel
[11:57] Speaker 1: like I'm talking.
[11:57] Speaker 3: To about I know you do. If it's from online.
[12:00] Speaker 1: She's the marketing boss that like is the sheakest woman alive.
[12:04] Speaker 1: I mean, we need a Sylvie spin off immediately.
[12:06] Speaker 3: Is it all high end brands or is it? No?
[12:08] Speaker 1: It's actually like quite high low. There's a little bit
[12:10] Speaker 1: of that. There's like all the sites you know that
[12:13] Speaker 1: id what they're wearing, which has been great for me personally,
[12:16] Speaker 1: so you can shop some of what they're wearing. So
[12:18] Speaker 1: there's a bit she like Sylvie wore some high end stuff,
[12:20] Speaker 1: some Saint Laurent and Celine and whatnot, and then Emily
[12:23] Speaker 1: was more like your sort of mid tier occasionally a
[12:26] Speaker 1: little bit of like fun fashion, fast fashion. Not so
[12:29] Speaker 1: much fast fashion, but just like cool.
[12:31] Speaker 3: Good shit. So there's one more season.
[12:33] Speaker 1: There's one more season. So they're filming in Greece right now.
[12:36] Speaker 1: We're getting a few snippets of the pap shots of
[12:38] Speaker 1: them doing that. It looks like a really great backdrop
[12:40] Speaker 1: for the last season. But yeah, I'm really sad.
[12:43] Speaker 3: To see it. I'm gonna make a deal with you.
[12:44] Speaker 3: I'm going to watch all of it right up until
[12:46] Speaker 3: this new season and then we can debrief it together
[12:49] Speaker 3: when that new season comes out.
[12:50] Speaker 1: Are you committed? You're gonna regret not watching it sooner?
[12:54] Speaker 1: My friend. Let me tell you so before we move on, Lucinda,
[12:59] Speaker 1: what's one thing that you're seeing that you really really
[13:02] Speaker 1: want to add.
[13:02] Speaker 3: To cut this week and I'm going to do it
[13:04] Speaker 3: as soon as we get off Mike. It's a military jacket.
[13:07] Speaker 3: I feel like any millennials or jen X would remember
[13:10] Speaker 3: the military jacket from Kate Moss wearing it at Glastonbury.
[13:14] Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a wrong visual there.
[13:17] Speaker 3: Coming up here Isabelle Morant. Yes, who else do we have?
[13:20] Speaker 3: Sassin bybe Yes?
[13:22] Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, like early two thousands.
[13:24] Speaker 3: Here a runway and I really I've been looking all
[13:28] Speaker 3: over Deep Hop trying to find one of the ogs.
[13:30] Speaker 3: But military jackets defined by a stand collar, the effaulets
[13:34] Speaker 3: which sit on the shoulder, the metal buttons, and just
[13:37] Speaker 3: a really sharp cut. So there was Vogue November twenty
[13:40] Speaker 3: twenty five cover where they had a double layered military
[13:44] Speaker 3: jacket that Greta Lee was wearing. And of course who
[13:47] Speaker 3: else has been in the military jacket? I saw?
[13:50] Speaker 1: Oh, who was it? Margot Robbie, She wore one recently
[13:52] Speaker 1: in McQueen one.
[13:53] Speaker 3: Yeah. They just looks black one cool. So yeah, Margo's
[13:56] Speaker 3: was black, Juliafas was red. The one I'm looking at
[13:59] Speaker 3: is from Revolve. It's a black one, and I think
[14:01] Speaker 3: that's going to be a little bit more easier to wear,
[14:03] Speaker 3: so that's revolved. That one's two hundred and ninety two dollars.
[14:06] Speaker 3: There's also an incredible one from Wolf and Badger, which
[14:09] Speaker 3: is a little bit more expensive, but we'll include it
[14:11] Speaker 3: all in the show notes. I'm still gonna hunt though,
[14:13] Speaker 3: on say Vestia and deeppp for a bit more of
[14:15] Speaker 3: an affordable one. Yeah, love, and what are you adding
[14:18] Speaker 3: to your cup taffeta pieces?
[14:21] Speaker 1: I'm seeing this everywhere. It's a fabric that you might
[14:24] Speaker 1: associate with like older ladies wear, but the cool girls
[14:27] Speaker 1: have really reclaimed it as their own.
[14:28] Speaker 3: Can you describe it to our listeners because when I
[14:31] Speaker 3: saw taffata, I didn't even know what it was until
[14:33] Speaker 3: I clicked on the eye.
[14:34] Speaker 1: Yeah, so you know, once you see it, it's like
[14:36] Speaker 1: a sturdier version of like a silk coore satin with
[14:39] Speaker 1: a sheen to it.
[14:40] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[14:40] Speaker 1: That's why I say like older ladies wear, because if
[14:42] Speaker 1: he went into it, but you know, into an opshop,
[14:44] Speaker 1: you might see a bit of taffeta around. But now
[14:47] Speaker 1: brands like Verge Girl, Hanson and Gretel and Harris Tappa
[14:50] Speaker 1: have incorporated taffeta into recent collections. So this fabric sits
[14:55] Speaker 1: away from the body, whereas a silk coore satin kind
[14:57] Speaker 1: of robes the body, so it gives us slightly different
[15:00] Speaker 1: silhouette in that it sits away. So just keep that
[15:03] Speaker 1: in mind when you're shopping that you're looking for volume
[15:06] Speaker 1: in these pieces, it's going to create volume. Verge Girl
[15:09] Speaker 1: have some really interesting silhouettes in their new collection. They've
[15:12] Speaker 1: got dresses, shorts, and tops that have that kind of
[15:15] Speaker 1: flare to them that's really cool. The piece I'm eyeing
[15:19] Speaker 1: off is the Fairfax Mini Dress in black. It's a
[15:22] Speaker 1: shift dress with that volume, and it's got a v
[15:25] Speaker 1: neck at the back and it's black.
[15:27] Speaker 3: So beautiful. Really, would you mind if I got that
[15:29] Speaker 3: as well? No? No, use a lot of bear Park
[15:32] Speaker 3: vibes as well.
[15:33] Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, I'm sure bear Park will be doing some
[15:36] Speaker 1: taffeta as well. Yeah. After the break, we'll be talking
[15:39] Speaker 1: about whether looking expensive is starting to look cheap and
[15:42] Speaker 1: what an earth is bowk or We'll get into it soon.
[16:01] Speaker 1: So we're at a point now where like quiet luxury
[16:04] Speaker 1: is no longer what we're aspiring to. Necessarily, there's nothing
[16:08] Speaker 1: wrong with doing quite luxury, but I feel like we're
[16:10] Speaker 1: kind of moved on from that. But we still want
[16:12] Speaker 1: to look polished and chic. I want to I'm personally
[16:16] Speaker 1: invested in looking effortlessly chic, But like, how are we
[16:19] Speaker 1: doing that now?
[16:20] Speaker 3: What does luxury look like now?
[16:22] Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the question, Like how are we doing that now?
[16:25] Speaker 1: Everyday style? I suppose, how has it evolved?
[16:28] Speaker 3: I really want to sink our teeth into these topics, Tam,
[16:31] Speaker 3: And the first one I want to talk about is
[16:33] Speaker 3: the death of logo mania. I know that sounds a
[16:37] Speaker 3: little bit violent and brutal, and I don't actually think
[16:40] Speaker 3: it's the death. No, but I don't think anything dies.
[16:44] Speaker 3: I think things just get put on ice until it's
[16:46] Speaker 3: time to come about again. But are you noticing this
[16:49] Speaker 3: as well? We're not as interested as consumers, we're not
[16:53] Speaker 3: leaning towards logos as much.
[16:56] Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that kind of visual sign posting has
[16:58] Speaker 1: kind of taken a back seat for a little while.
[17:01] Speaker 1: And like, this isn't a new notion, right, Like with
[17:04] Speaker 1: the whole we're going to say quiet luxury so many times,
[17:07] Speaker 1: and yes, we've been talking about quiet luxury for years.
[17:09] Speaker 1: We've moved on, but like that really was kind of
[17:11] Speaker 1: the death the start of the death of overt Brandy right,
[17:16] Speaker 1: because before that, I feel like we had years of
[17:19] Speaker 1: wearing a logo on your chest, Like remember those like
[17:22] Speaker 1: Selene t shirts with like giant logo in the middle,
[17:25] Speaker 1: Gucci belts, and yeah, like that was the one way,
[17:29] Speaker 1: like the key way to signal wealth and signal that
[17:32] Speaker 1: you can afford luxury was to do it that way.
[17:36] Speaker 3: And that's almost feeling quite twenty tens, isn't it, Like
[17:38] Speaker 3: the Paris Hilton's wearing the big logos. But I was
[17:41] Speaker 3: thinking how and why it's shifted. Would you agree that
[17:45] Speaker 3: one of the main reasons is there's just so many
[17:48] Speaker 3: fakes out there now, like everywhere online you can buy them.
[17:52] Speaker 3: I was in China a month ago and everyone was
[17:55] Speaker 3: wearing luxury brands. There's no longer that barrier to entry exclusivity.
[18:00] Speaker 1: Yeah, and if you can't tell the difference, then what's
[18:02] Speaker 1: the difference, I suppose is the question. Yeah, I guess
[18:05] Speaker 1: there's always two types of luxury shoffers, right, Like there's
[18:09] Speaker 1: that entry point aspirational shoffer.
[18:11] Speaker 3: They're the ones buying the Selene Triomphe belt, the Gucci belt,
[18:15] Speaker 3: the bags, the sunglasses, and they're still wanting some sort
[18:20] Speaker 3: of logo they've worked damn hard, They've earned this money.
[18:24] Speaker 3: They want to buy something that they're proud of. You
[18:25] Speaker 3: still sort of want some logo, I suppose would you agree?
[18:29] Speaker 3: And I think I fall into that camp, Like I
[18:31] Speaker 3: am still an entry point luxury shoffer. I'm not walking
[18:34] Speaker 3: into Chanell buying all the like the clothing.
[18:36] Speaker 1: Absolutely, and that's why Chanell bags exist. I mean yeah,
[18:40] Speaker 1: like they cost twelve thousand dollars, but there are accessible
[18:43] Speaker 1: there's different levels that you can access, right, and it's
[18:47] Speaker 1: usually starts with to your point, a belt or Sonny's.
[18:49] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[18:50] Speaker 1: I mean not many people can afford to even start
[18:53] Speaker 1: with a belt, right, but that's accessible luxury, yeah, the
[18:57] Speaker 1: lower tier.
[18:57] Speaker 3: And back to your point, Tam about the my crow
[19:00] Speaker 3: trend of quiet luxury. There's so many of these stealth
[19:03] Speaker 3: wealth old money quiet luxury and the hundreds of TikTok's
[19:07] Speaker 3: methodically telling people how to dress like old money, how
[19:10] Speaker 3: to create the old money look, and ironically I've been
[19:14] Speaker 3: creating these tiktoks for people as well, how to create
[19:17] Speaker 3: the old money look on a budget. The irony there.
[19:20] Speaker 1: Right, it is so ironic and like you know, even
[19:24] Speaker 1: the whole like throwing the knit around your shoulders and
[19:26] Speaker 1: adding the Ralph Lauren cap like these are easy ways
[19:30] Speaker 1: to make yourself look you know, money. Like you've made
[19:33] Speaker 1: the point before that like that used to be instinctial.
[19:35] Speaker 1: That used to be just like the esthetic that you
[19:38] Speaker 1: naturally are inclined towards it, Like this is like a
[19:41] Speaker 1: subculture and a way of dressing that we're adopting to
[19:44] Speaker 1: try to visually signpost something about ourselves that we're not.
[19:47] Speaker 1: It's actually not your own tastes exactly right.
[19:50] Speaker 3: It's cause playing a different social class, which is really bsire.
[19:54] Speaker 3: There was an amazing substec that I just want to
[19:56] Speaker 3: give a shout out to is by Jessica Harris. It
[19:58] Speaker 3: was called the Curated and it's all around how expensive
[20:02] Speaker 3: is starting to look cheap? And she said that, she said,
[20:04] Speaker 3: quiet luxury. It was all about, like you said, dressing
[20:06] Speaker 3: for instinct. You're wearing the collard shirt because you don't
[20:09] Speaker 3: want your neck to get some burnt when you're horse riding.
[20:12] Speaker 3: You've got that.
[20:12] Speaker 1: At the point.
[20:13] Speaker 3: Oh yeah, and the cashmir over the shoulders isn't just
[20:17] Speaker 3: a trend with everyone doing the same. It's coming off
[20:20] Speaker 3: as formulaic and just boring, right.
[20:22] Speaker 1: But I think this is why quiet luxury, as big
[20:26] Speaker 1: as it was, had to come and go, like it
[20:28] Speaker 1: had to be replaced by something new. Yeah, you know,
[20:31] Speaker 1: the pendulum swings back and forth. So we had quiet luxury,
[20:34] Speaker 1: and then it reverted back to like a sort of
[20:36] Speaker 1: maximalist esthetic again because we got sick of that, you know,
[20:39] Speaker 1: And it is just trends.
[20:41] Speaker 3: People to think we're squashing that minimalist look. We love that.
[20:44] Speaker 3: We don't want people going out dressing like a substitute
[20:47] Speaker 3: craft teacher or you know, I mean you have to
[20:50] Speaker 3: go whacky, but yeah, you do you but you and
[20:52] Speaker 3: I love a minimalist look. I love head to tell
[20:55] Speaker 3: a crew. I love beije on beije on, beije on beige.
[20:58] Speaker 3: But there's certain ways of dressing on how to create
[21:01] Speaker 3: a tasteful minimalist look and then one that sort of
[21:04] Speaker 3: maybe comes off a little less tasteful. But we can
[21:06] Speaker 3: go through those tips later on maybe how to pull
[21:09] Speaker 3: the right minimalist look together.
[21:11] Speaker 1: Yeah, everything we're talking about here really leads me to
[21:15] Speaker 1: a trend that I'm seeing emerging in the zeitgeist called borcore.
[21:20] Speaker 1: Have you seen this?
[21:21] Speaker 3: Seen it? But can you tell me? Yeah? I'm confused
[21:23] Speaker 3: by it.
[21:24] Speaker 1: It comes up. This is not the first time we've
[21:26] Speaker 1: heard this word. It actually had a little moment back
[21:29] Speaker 1: in twenty twenty four. I even did a reel about
[21:31] Speaker 1: borecore back in like twenty earlier than that. I think
[21:36] Speaker 1: I thought I coined it, but apparently.
[21:37] Speaker 3: Not before twenty twenty a little later than that.
[21:40] Speaker 1: I think I'd have to scroll back through my Instagram.
[21:43] Speaker 1: But basically, borcore is it's a fashion movement that's all
[21:47] Speaker 1: about stripping your look back to the basics, back to
[21:50] Speaker 1: essentials that you might even consider boring, quote unquote, but
[21:55] Speaker 1: they're actually incredibly considered. So the List Index, which is
[22:00] Speaker 1: fashion reporting body, in its fourth quarter report for twenty
[22:04] Speaker 1: twenty five, described borecour as a deliberate aesthetic of restraint. Okay,
[22:10] Speaker 1: so restraint's a really interesting word here, right, because restraint
[22:13] Speaker 1: implies what you're not doing right, You're pulling back. There's
[22:16] Speaker 1: things you're not doing with your aesthetic or with your
[22:19] Speaker 1: look to achieve a certain you know, a certain look.
[22:23] Speaker 1: And if you think about the influence of Carolyn Bessett
[22:26] Speaker 1: Kennedy's style after the show Love Story exploded and everyone
[22:31] Speaker 1: started trying to dress like Carolyn again, like CBK in
[22:35] Speaker 1: you know, minimalist looks. This is really that aesthetics starting
[22:39] Speaker 1: to settle in to the culture. So Borcore is about
[22:43] Speaker 1: bringing it back to basics. And I think something that
[22:46] Speaker 1: we're going to see more of now is that look
[22:49] Speaker 1: being interpreted through celebrity street style. So I think about
[22:54] Speaker 1: your I know we talk about them all the time
[22:56] Speaker 1: on the show, but think about your Hayley Baber's and
[22:58] Speaker 1: your Kendall Jenners and KaiA Gerber is another really good example.
[23:02] Speaker 1: And these are women that you know, in the past,
[23:04] Speaker 1: their style might have been more kind of dialed up
[23:07] Speaker 1: and glamorous, and now it's really like I would almost
[23:12] Speaker 1: define their aesthetics as boring intentionally, Like it made headlines
[23:17] Speaker 1: when Kendall Jenna wore a five dollars Haynes singlet back
[23:22] Speaker 1: with some leather pants, and it makes headlines when KaiA
[23:25] Speaker 1: Gerber wears a baby tea with some blue Levi's jeans
[23:28] Speaker 1: and some ballet flats, And that inherently is because those
[23:32] Speaker 1: outfits look so approachable and so quote unquote boring, but
[23:36] Speaker 1: they're achievable, right, So.
[23:38] Speaker 3: What would this have been called before? Is it just
[23:40] Speaker 3: like is it minimalist dressing?
[23:43] Speaker 1: I don't think so, because I think a tea in
[23:45] Speaker 1: jeans is as boring as it gets. But that doesn't
[23:47] Speaker 1: mean it's bad.
[23:48] Speaker 3: It almost like the DNA of Calvin Kline, isn't it.
[23:51] Speaker 1: It is Calvin Klein esque, isn't it.
[23:53] Speaker 3: I love there's a bit of joy and restraint, isn't it.
[23:55] Speaker 3: I love nothing more than just a pair of jeans
[23:58] Speaker 3: and a white tea. Right, Yes, it's nice just walking
[24:01] Speaker 3: out in that. There's joy and restraint.
[24:03] Speaker 1: Absolutely, and I think that's what these women like if
[24:05] Speaker 1: I think about this celebrity influences, that's what they're trying
[24:08] Speaker 1: to do with their style. But the irony in talking
[24:11] Speaker 1: about restraint and style someone like CBK, like Carolyn set
[24:14] Speaker 1: Kennedy is so revered because achieving a minimalist look is
[24:18] Speaker 1: actually sometimes the hardest to execute, you know, Like and
[24:21] Speaker 1: this effortless cool of someone like a Kendle or a
[24:24] Speaker 1: Hayley that's not without thought process effortless is actually the
[24:28] Speaker 1: most effortful sometimes, and that's why they have to lean
[24:31] Speaker 1: on stylists to help them do the executing. So it
[24:35] Speaker 1: brings me to just to layer onto this concept of borcoor.
[24:39] Speaker 1: I recently read an article on what We're UK and
[24:43] Speaker 1: they were talking about the rise of a trend they're
[24:46] Speaker 1: calling the West Village girl wardrobe. You've seen this around,
[24:50] Speaker 1: but I like the sound of it. The West Village girl.
[24:52] Speaker 1: I mean New York being the center of fashion, right,
[24:55] Speaker 1: but I mean the West Village is Yeah, it's a
[24:57] Speaker 1: it's a burrow of New York where a lot of
[24:59] Speaker 1: a lot of girls lev I suppose, but this is
[25:02] Speaker 1: also where you see celebrities like your Zoe Kravitz and
[25:05] Speaker 1: your Jennifer Lawrence and Dakota Johnson is another one that
[25:09] Speaker 1: was cited in this piece as being like a west
[25:11] Speaker 1: Vielach girl. So these women might be known for like
[25:14] Speaker 1: being amazing on the red carpet, but they really deliver
[25:17] Speaker 1: in their street style too. They're often papped in really
[25:21] Speaker 1: quite nondescript outfits. It's like casual separates with dad caps
[25:26] Speaker 1: and like really cool flats from the row and that
[25:28] Speaker 1: kind of thing. And these outfits can be more powerful
[25:32] Speaker 1: than their red carpet outfits because they're kind of thing
[25:35] Speaker 1: that powers the fashion media. They keep our interest, you know,
[25:39] Speaker 1: like they're the ones that pop up on our social
[25:40] Speaker 1: feeds that we want to then emulate that they're the
[25:42] Speaker 1: ones that get the press. Isn't it talking? Yeah?
[25:45] Speaker 3: Isn't that the wild thing? Like the irony in that
[25:47] Speaker 3: it is really even just a basic dad outfit like
[25:50] Speaker 3: Jean's white tea in a hat that you mentioned.
[25:52] Speaker 1: Can be the coolest thing.
[25:54] Speaker 3: And just because they've worn it and been papped in it,
[25:56] Speaker 3: it's entered and filtrated in the zeitgeist again, yeah coined Yeah,
[26:01] Speaker 3: West Village girl.
[26:01] Speaker 1: And and if you think about someone like a Zoe Kravitz,
[26:04] Speaker 1: like she has such a hold on the fashion industry
[26:08] Speaker 1: at the moment, Like something that I want to reference
[26:11] Speaker 1: is an outfit that she wore. God, I reckon it'd
[26:13] Speaker 1: be over a year ago, but it's only just infiltrating
[26:16] Speaker 1: the market now. So she was wearing a raglin tea,
[26:19] Speaker 1: which is like a long sleeve white tea with contrasting
[26:22] Speaker 1: colored sleeves. You might also call it a baseball tea.
[26:25] Speaker 1: So it's a white tea with navy blue sleeves. Yeah,
[26:28] Speaker 1: and now we've seen that trend all over the high street. Yeah.
[26:32] Speaker 3: The best thing about these trends as well is they're
[26:34] Speaker 3: so easy to achieve on a budget, like I love
[26:38] Speaker 3: a baby all my white baby teas. I've got about
[26:41] Speaker 3: six of them from Kmart. I think they're about six dollars. Literally,
[26:44] Speaker 3: they're just I'm always in a white tea. Camart. You
[26:47] Speaker 3: can create these entire looks that you know, Zoe Kravis
[26:50] Speaker 3: and what not a wearing.
[26:51] Speaker 1: Exactly, Yeah, on a budget. She also wore those added
[26:54] Speaker 1: ass track shorts with heels.
[26:56] Speaker 3: I love it, and that's.
[26:57] Speaker 1: That's like a huge trend now. So the power that
[27:00] Speaker 1: one of these women's street style outfits has. Jennifer Lawrence
[27:03] Speaker 1: is a really big one as well. She's very emblematic
[27:06] Speaker 1: of the West Village Girl trend. Everything she wears turns
[27:09] Speaker 1: to sold.
[27:10] Speaker 3: Do you know who her stylist is? She's looking amazing.
[27:13] Speaker 1: I don't off the top of my head, but so
[27:15] Speaker 1: would you.
[27:16] Speaker 3: Say West Village Girl is a bit more like a
[27:18] Speaker 3: sporty aesthetic. Is that wind breakers and things?
[27:20] Speaker 1: There are some wind breakers, there's definitely some sporty jackets.
[27:24] Speaker 1: But I know, I think it's just casual. It's casual.
[27:28] Speaker 1: Where So just a few notes for our own wardrobes.
[27:31] Speaker 1: You know, if you want to get the West Village Girl,
[27:33] Speaker 1: we can call it whatever we want. Call it West
[27:35] Speaker 1: Village girl, call it barecore, call it you know, like,
[27:38] Speaker 1: but ultimately we're talking, like you said about back to
[27:41] Speaker 1: basics casual dressing and really just like leaning into that
[27:46] Speaker 1: and owning.
[27:46] Speaker 3: It and creating a tasteful, minimal West Village look without
[27:51] Speaker 3: looking like you just pulled it from a TikTok algorithm shopping.
[27:54] Speaker 1: With exactly, So go back to basics. Yeah, we're talking
[27:59] Speaker 1: plain tea, whether you do a baby tea, a raglan tea,
[28:02] Speaker 1: or just a nice crew cut T shirt. Tanks, white tanks,
[28:07] Speaker 1: not going anywhere. Simple denim so straight leg, baggy cut,
[28:11] Speaker 1: high waist crop. Whatever works for you and your body
[28:15] Speaker 1: is going to be the best nim shape for you.
[28:17] Speaker 1: Collared sweaters is a really great way to add a
[28:19] Speaker 1: touch of that kind of you know, almost what do
[28:22] Speaker 1: we want to call that? Like it just adds a
[28:24] Speaker 1: little bit more. Yeah, like it's sporty sheet exactly. Field
[28:30] Speaker 1: where fieldware.
[28:31] Speaker 3: You're going out shooting in the countryside. Fieldware?
[28:37] Speaker 1: Okay, fieldware. Yeah, these are all things that are on
[28:40] Speaker 1: the market. Invest in the best quality you can afford.
[28:43] Speaker 1: I always say another pointer, don't overthink the styling. Like, yes,
[28:48] Speaker 1: Kendall and Zoe and you know, they all work with
[28:50] Speaker 1: stylists that help them to overthink it to the point
[28:53] Speaker 1: that it looks immaculately under thought. But for you, you know,
[28:57] Speaker 1: keep it simple. I always think, Okay, if you're doing
[29:00] Speaker 1: one statement piece, let that shine. So if you're doing
[29:03] Speaker 1: the sporty track short and you and you're channeling Zoe Kravitz,
[29:07] Speaker 1: don't then do the sporty windbreaker as well. Just have
[29:10] Speaker 1: the T shirt with the track shorts, or just have
[29:12] Speaker 1: the windbreaker with the genes.
[29:13] Speaker 3: And all the things you're describing as well. They're just comfortable,
[29:15] Speaker 3: aren't they. You're dressed for comfortability. Yes, I love that
[29:19] Speaker 3: tip with any trend. Just pick one element of the trend.
[29:22] Speaker 3: Don't go head to toe. Yeah, western and like just.
[29:25] Speaker 1: To bring it full circle, like we talked about looking
[29:28] Speaker 1: rich and looking you know, luxury and sometimes the simplest Yes,
[29:31] Speaker 1: they can be hard to execute, but like comfort and
[29:34] Speaker 1: looking comfortable and what you're wearing, Like we all know
[29:37] Speaker 1: the power of leaving the house in an outfit that
[29:39] Speaker 1: you feel good and comfortable in, you know, and you
[29:41] Speaker 1: haven't had to overthink the elements, and that can often
[29:45] Speaker 1: translate the best as you're going about your day. I know,
[29:47] Speaker 1: for me, like if I feel good in it and
[29:50] Speaker 1: comfortable in it, that you know that courage so.
[29:53] Speaker 3: Your data shines. Yeah, and on that as well, like
[29:57] Speaker 3: dressing to look rich. It's all a bit icky, but
[30:00] Speaker 3: it is sort of all in the sort of algorithms
[30:02] Speaker 3: and how people are trying to achieve these looks. A
[30:05] Speaker 3: few tips around that it's not necessarily choosing the most
[30:08] Speaker 3: expensive brand, although that does help because they're using proper
[30:11] Speaker 3: materials and fabrications. But I guess when you're looking at items.
[30:15] Speaker 3: A couple of things I always do is if I
[30:17] Speaker 3: buy a pair of trousers, even if they do fit you,
[30:20] Speaker 3: it could just be an inch of tailoring to make
[30:23] Speaker 3: them look a little bit more refined. Or is it
[30:26] Speaker 3: the buttons? I find I really don't like plastic buttons.
[30:30] Speaker 3: I find any metal button really elevates a look. And
[30:33] Speaker 3: if I bought something that was a more affordable price
[30:35] Speaker 3: with a plastic button, I would take them off and
[30:38] Speaker 3: so them on myself, not personally myself, and I've got
[30:42] Speaker 3: plastic But I guess it depends on the look. But
[30:44] Speaker 3: if you wanted to try and create a more elevation.
[30:47] Speaker 3: It's just a way. It maybe wouldn't work for everything,
[30:51] Speaker 3: but just to elevate a look, switch out the buttons.
[30:54] Speaker 3: Also choosing the color in the minimalless world, like I
[30:57] Speaker 3: find stark white can be a little bit too much.
[31:00] Speaker 3: It's finding the right accrue, the right mushroom, the right
[31:04] Speaker 3: talk like, Yeah, I think the cool undertones come off
[31:07] Speaker 3: a little bit dirty. Trying to find those really warm
[31:10] Speaker 3: mutual colors I think can elevate an outfit definitely. And
[31:13] Speaker 3: the materials as well, Like some jackets and products are
[31:18] Speaker 3: meant to be made with particular materials, so wool, that heaviness,
[31:22] Speaker 3: the structure, it is going to look more elevated than
[31:25] Speaker 3: buying something that's not lined and just like doesn't hang
[31:28] Speaker 3: or fall properly from the body. Yeah, So choosing the
[31:31] Speaker 3: right fabrications and that's where you invest. Guys. We're loving
[31:34] Speaker 3: bringing these topics to the pod. And if there's anything
[31:37] Speaker 3: that you want us to bring, any questions, any conversations
[31:40] Speaker 3: you'd love Term and I to have, please send us
[31:42] Speaker 3: a DM on Instagram or any social channel. We're at
[31:45] Speaker 3: Nothing to Wear Pod.
[31:46] Speaker 1: After the break, we're going to get into Boogie to
[31:48] Speaker 1: Budget where I'm bringing you some Western inspired jeans.
[31:51] Speaker 2: Y h, it's very expensive, how wondred percent.
[32:15] Speaker 1: It's time for Bougie to budget. Yeah, where we each
[32:18] Speaker 1: bring you three items, one on the affordable end of
[32:21] Speaker 1: the spectrum, one that's in the kind of mid tier investment,
[32:25] Speaker 1: and then one that's like more of a splurge. Call
[32:28] Speaker 1: it what it is, a wish list, a wish list item. Yes, okay,
[32:31] Speaker 1: So Licinda, what.
[32:32] Speaker 3: Have you got for us this week? I got so
[32:35] Speaker 3: I'm bringing to Bougie and budget. Wrap pants or the
[32:39] Speaker 3: overlay pants have also been called.
[32:41] Speaker 1: I've also seen Fishermen pants around.
[32:43] Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, it's in case you don't know what they are.
[32:45] Speaker 3: It's a trouser with a built in sort of asymmetrical
[32:49] Speaker 3: band doanna. So it's almost like it's in the same colorway.
[32:52] Speaker 3: It's almost like a styling accessory that's built into the pant.
[32:56] Speaker 3: I find it really elongates the legs. I'm really flattering.
[32:59] Speaker 3: Coming into winter, I want to get out of my
[33:01] Speaker 3: jeans and get into more trousers. So they'd be really
[33:03] Speaker 3: great to wear out for dinner. Okay, So my budget
[33:06] Speaker 3: is from a brand called Charcoal. They're the Bonfire pant
[33:09] Speaker 3: they come in stone or off white.
[33:11] Speaker 1: Nice.
[33:12] Speaker 3: It's got that one long line asymmetrical bandana, all built
[33:15] Speaker 3: in looking really beautiful. I love the stone ninety nine dollars.
[33:20] Speaker 1: Pant, yeah yeah, And what about your mid range?
[33:23] Speaker 3: And my mid is from Motel Rocks and it is
[33:27] Speaker 3: another wrap around pant and that's in charcoal, similar style
[33:30] Speaker 3: for one hundred and twenty dollars.
[33:32] Speaker 1: That's also like quite a good price, right.
[33:34] Speaker 3: Yeah, So that's more just depending on what colourway you want.
[33:37] Speaker 3: I personally like the stone playing in those earthy colors,
[33:40] Speaker 3: but this is more maybe a bit more of an
[33:41] Speaker 3: elevated look in charcoal. And my last is Inku and
[33:44] Speaker 3: it's a wrap around pant in navy steel sounds. It's
[33:49] Speaker 3: quite premium looking. And that's two hundred and twenty dollars,
[33:52] Speaker 3: so still not too bad. That's more of a premium
[33:55] Speaker 3: price point, but there's three options there, really affordable, A
[33:58] Speaker 3: really great piece for the cooler months coming ahead.
[34:01] Speaker 1: I love it. You've sold me.
[34:03] Speaker 3: And tell me about your bougie to budget.
[34:05] Speaker 1: I am loving at the moment jeans with a bit
[34:08] Speaker 1: of an elevated twist, and I'm going to call them
[34:10] Speaker 1: like Western inspired jeans. So yeah, so whether it's like
[34:14] Speaker 1: rhinestone or stud detailing, or it's sort of a patchwork
[34:18] Speaker 1: effect of dark and light denim on the same gene.
[34:21] Speaker 1: So maybe you've got a light panel down the front
[34:24] Speaker 1: and a dark indigo panel down the back, or even
[34:27] Speaker 1: like stitching, you know, just Western inspired stitching along them.
[34:31] Speaker 1: I'm going to call it like the gusset jean, just
[34:34] Speaker 1: to kind of give a bit of like a you know,
[34:36] Speaker 1: like chaps or yeah, it grows to that kind of
[34:39] Speaker 1: I guess that cowboy yet tomorrow. Oh okay, yes, of
[34:45] Speaker 1: course you are. You need some Western inspired jeans for
[34:50] Speaker 1: perhaps some job pers. Okay, so my budget find is
[34:54] Speaker 1: from the label Daisy, which is on the Iconic. They're
[34:57] Speaker 1: the Kansas high Rise straight leg jeans. These are super
[35:00] Speaker 1: high rise baggy jeans. They're an indigo wash, and they've
[35:04] Speaker 1: just got like quite a subtle stitching along the top
[35:08] Speaker 1: of the like just under the hem that gives like
[35:10] Speaker 1: a little Western edge to a straight baggy jean. So
[35:13] Speaker 1: I love those, and they are one hundred dollars.
[35:15] Speaker 3: Okay.
[35:16] Speaker 1: My mid range are from Levi's. They're the rib Cage
[35:19] Speaker 1: Western Yolk jeans. So the rib Cage is a really
[35:21] Speaker 1: iconic Levi's style, the loved style. This is quite similar
[35:25] Speaker 1: to the style that you know and love. They're cropped
[35:28] Speaker 1: indigo jeans again, but again they have that stitching along
[35:32] Speaker 1: the front, but this is a little more structured. It's
[35:34] Speaker 1: kind of hard to explain. You're going to have to
[35:36] Speaker 1: take a look at these, I think to see what
[35:39] Speaker 1: I mean. Yeah, but they're giving again, they're giving a
[35:42] Speaker 1: little bit of cowgirl energy, but not two extrames, just.
[35:45] Speaker 3: A bit of quirk to the other fide. Yeah exactly.
[35:47] Speaker 1: So like if you're wearing these with a T shirt
[35:49] Speaker 1: or a you know, an oversized shirt tucked in, they're
[35:52] Speaker 1: just going to give that little bit of edge to
[35:54] Speaker 1: the look. Yeah. So the Levi's jeans are one hundred
[35:57] Speaker 1: and fifty dollars sixty one, Okay, so reasonable for Levi's gene.
[36:02] Speaker 1: And then for my bougie these are from Blank NYC.
[36:05] Speaker 1: They're the Franklin high Rise straight leg. These are a
[36:09] Speaker 1: true mid rise straight jeen. They're in like a vintage
[36:13] Speaker 1: blue wash, so more of that kind of lighter denim.
[36:17] Speaker 1: And these are like, to me, these are the perfect
[36:20] Speaker 1: Western inspired jeans. They've got like oversized silver disc studs
[36:25] Speaker 1: all the way down the side seam of the jenes
[36:29] Speaker 1: and it's just you turn to the side and you've
[36:31] Speaker 1: got that flash of.
[36:31] Speaker 3: The stud and of these cropped as well or not.
[36:34] Speaker 1: Just like at the ankle.
[36:35] Speaker 3: Nice.
[36:35] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, So these are like elite They are two
[36:40] Speaker 1: hundred and fifty eight dollars and nineteen cents.
[36:42] Speaker 3: And are they a bit out there? Like? Are they
[36:44] Speaker 3: obviously do what? No? Like?
[36:45] Speaker 1: This is what I like about this trend is it's
[36:48] Speaker 1: not so out there that it's unwearable. It's not like
[36:50] Speaker 1: a cowprint jeen, cow hide gene or something. You're not
[36:53] Speaker 1: going it's not fringing down the side. It's like a
[36:55] Speaker 1: little bit of study. It's an elevated but not crazy great.
[36:59] Speaker 3: We'll be wearing be wearing those next.
[37:01] Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll probably be wearing the same ones.
