[0:10] Speaker 1: You're listening to a MoMA Mia podcast. Mama Mia acknowledges
[0:15] Speaker 1: the traditional owners of land and waters that this podcast
[0:18] Speaker 1: is recorded on whoever said orange is a new pink
[0:22] Speaker 1: with seriously disturbed laurels for spraying groundbreaking? Oh my god,
[0:27] Speaker 1: you have to do it.
[0:28] Speaker 2: You live for fashion?
[0:31] Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Nothing to Wear the podcast. It
[0:34] Speaker 1: solves fashion problems and levels up your wardrobe and mine too.
[0:38] Speaker 1: I'm Lee Campberlin. Every week I chat to an expert
[0:40] Speaker 1: who helps us work out how to get more out
[0:42] Speaker 1: of the clothes we already own and tells us what
[0:44] Speaker 1: is and isn't worth adding to our wardrobes. Now, Victoria
[0:47] Speaker 1: Latu has been on the show before and I had
[0:49] Speaker 1: to get her back again and in real life this time.
[0:52] Speaker 1: She's based in Melbourne, but she's flown up to Sydney
[0:54] Speaker 1: to join me today. She is one of the most stylish, hilarious,
[0:59] Speaker 1: wonderful people I love to follow on Instagram. She's a
[1:02] Speaker 1: stylist and she's all about wearing your special stuff. It
[1:05] Speaker 1: doesn't have to be expensive. But she wears a fur
[1:08] Speaker 1: coat a fake fur coat to school drop off. So
[1:11] Speaker 1: let's ask her how to get dressed this winter from
[1:14] Speaker 1: sports sidelines where it's bloody freezing, what shoes we're wearing,
[1:17] Speaker 1: what we were in to date night, when jeans and
[1:19] Speaker 1: a nice top can't just be a singlet. Just going
[1:21] Speaker 1: to help us get dressed in the depths of winter
[1:23] Speaker 1: and feel good and stay cozy. Let's do it, Victoria,
[1:27] Speaker 1: welcome back to nothing to wear. It's so good to
[1:30] Speaker 1: have you back in Sydney in real life.
[1:32] Speaker 2: I know I had to make it in flesh to
[1:35] Speaker 2: see you and experience the studio for myself because last
[1:38] Speaker 2: time we did this it was online.
[1:39] Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. You're in Melbourn, where you're based, So it's
[1:42] Speaker 1: so good to have you here now before we get
[1:44] Speaker 1: into winter dressing and what we were on the weekend
[1:46] Speaker 1: when we just want to chuck on our leggings. I
[1:49] Speaker 1: ask returning guests a few questions. So what's your biggest
[1:53] Speaker 1: fashion investment or impulse purchase that you that comes to
[1:57] Speaker 1: mind when I ask you that.
[1:58] Speaker 2: Okay, I actually feel embarrassed to say this. I don't
[2:01] Speaker 2: know why, but after I did such a huge purchase,
[2:05] Speaker 2: I am it's one of the best purchases. So I
[2:07] Speaker 2: think it's a guilt association with spending but I'm really
[2:11] Speaker 2: happy about it. It was actually a piece of fine
[2:14] Speaker 2: jewelry from Van Cleef Beautiful. I saw it and I
[2:19] Speaker 2: instantly could just necklace earrings. It was a bracelet, but
[2:23] Speaker 2: Vangcliff Jeury like they're stacks, so you could wear it
[2:25] Speaker 2: as a necklace. You could do it as you know.
[2:27] Speaker 2: I've already sold it to myself as a bracelet. My
[2:32] Speaker 2: daughter can have it. Yeah, passed out.
[2:35] Speaker 1: In generally an investment jewelry piece.
[2:37] Speaker 2: It was, yeah, and it was something that I purchased,
[2:42] Speaker 2: loved it, and when I was going home, I was like,
[2:44] Speaker 2: I can't believe I just did that. I honestly couldn't
[2:48] Speaker 2: believe it. But now it's one of my favorite pieces ever.
[2:53] Speaker 1: I love Van Cleef and our pearls. One day when
[2:55] Speaker 1: I'm grown up and have enough funey I'm getting.
[2:57] Speaker 2: I don't think you ever feel like I don't know,
[2:59] Speaker 2: maybe from the way, I never feel.
[3:03] Speaker 1: Like it's you know, but it's a beautiful brand to
[3:06] Speaker 1: you know, aspire to. Second question before we get into
[3:08] Speaker 1: the topic, do you have style news?
[3:10] Speaker 2: Do I have a style muse?
[3:12] Speaker 1: No?
[3:13] Speaker 2: I really kind of I'm a libra. I'm indecisive, so
[3:16] Speaker 2: I go with the weather. Sometimes I love what you're
[3:19] Speaker 2: wearing and what you're doing, and sometimes I don't. I'm
[3:22] Speaker 2: not that's the thing about fashion, You're not. I don't
[3:24] Speaker 2: believe that you have to be permanently.
[3:27] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, totally. Once you know you cannot, your allowed
[3:30] Speaker 1: to change your mind. I scroll interested and then I
[3:33] Speaker 1: if I really love something, I'll screenshot and put in
[3:35] Speaker 1: a folder, but I'll cut their head off, so I
[3:36] Speaker 1: don't know who they are.
[3:37] Speaker 2: Just said that I love the vibe perfect. That's exactly
[3:41] Speaker 2: how you discover your style. So you pick the photo
[3:44] Speaker 2: and you think about what about this do I like?
[3:48] Speaker 2: And you try to dissociate it from the person wearing it.
[3:51] Speaker 1: Yes, so correct, that's it, because it's more just about
[3:54] Speaker 1: the silhouettes or the color.
[3:55] Speaker 2: Color of the style of the piece, and you're not
[3:57] Speaker 2: the person.
[3:58] Speaker 1: Yes, I love it, all right. We're talking winter. We're
[4:01] Speaker 1: in the depths of winter. You're from Melbourne, you poor thing.
[4:03] Speaker 2: I mean, I know if I can tell you how
[4:06] Speaker 2: cool it was this morning.
[4:06] Speaker 1: My husband's from Melbourne, so I'm there a fair bit
[4:09] Speaker 1: and and it still blows my mind, only because I
[4:12] Speaker 1: think it would be easy to live in Melbourne and
[4:14] Speaker 1: have all your big layers, but when you're just going
[4:16] Speaker 1: down for a night or two from Sydney or from
[4:18] Speaker 1: somewhere else, you've often only got a small case. But
[4:20] Speaker 1: a big coat that's warm enough for Melbourne is your
[4:23] Speaker 1: whole case.
[4:24] Speaker 2: The whole thing. And that's why you always I always
[4:26] Speaker 2: have checked luggage.
[4:27] Speaker 1: Well, you mean you can't not. But if anyone can
[4:30] Speaker 1: help us get dressed in winter, it's you. Because you're
[4:33] Speaker 1: from a very cold, very stylish city. So people might
[4:37] Speaker 1: have their whole winter wardrobe sorted already, but they might not.
[4:40] Speaker 1: And also winter comes around once a year. So what's
[4:42] Speaker 1: your shopping hacks or what's your vibe when it comes
[4:46] Speaker 1: to shopping for cold weather?
[4:48] Speaker 2: Okay, my vibe is I think winter is one of
[4:51] Speaker 2: those seasons that you really want to invest in quality,
[4:55] Speaker 2: you know. It's one of those things that I would
[4:58] Speaker 2: actually advise for you to buy well, you know, which
[5:02] Speaker 2: usually means spend a little.
[5:04] Speaker 1: Bit more, buy less.
[5:05] Speaker 2: But by well, you buy well, you buy better and
[5:07] Speaker 2: you buy less, you know, so rather than buying and
[5:10] Speaker 2: you kind of want to buy those things that will last,
[5:14] Speaker 2: you know, season after season. The great thing about winter
[5:17] Speaker 2: is if you actually do buy a great coat or
[5:19] Speaker 2: a great jacket, you can wear it next season and
[5:22] Speaker 2: the season after. I have clothes in my closet, especially
[5:27] Speaker 2: the leather jackets that I've had four are going on
[5:30] Speaker 2: six seven years, and like the more battered and worn
[5:34] Speaker 2: out they are better, they get the cooler. So I
[5:37] Speaker 2: actually advise that you shop better by well and less often.
[5:41] Speaker 1: I think that's such a good theory. You know, somewhere
[5:44] Speaker 1: you can buy cheap little ku bikini this or a
[5:47] Speaker 1: little bit. But winter, I think we put our clothes
[5:49] Speaker 1: through so much, you know, and also the fabrics can
[5:51] Speaker 1: peel and ball and you.
[5:52] Speaker 2: Know, and like sometimes I'm one of those people because
[5:56] Speaker 2: I love fashion so much. Sometimes I see something I
[5:59] Speaker 2: tell myself, I have the shiny object syndrome.
[6:01] Speaker 1: What's that? Just like collect shiny everything?
[6:05] Speaker 2: And I'm like, that looks fantastic and it's such a
[6:08] Speaker 2: fashion moment. But you're not going to wear it because
[6:10] Speaker 2: it's going to itch and it's going to irritate you,
[6:12] Speaker 2: and it's not going to be cozy. It's going to
[6:14] Speaker 2: be you know what I mean.
[6:15] Speaker 1: So there's nothing worse than an itchy jumper. I don't
[6:17] Speaker 1: care how good, how good it's itchy, I'm going to
[6:20] Speaker 1: take it off, no way.
[6:21] Speaker 2: That's why. So you want to buy good quality fabrics,
[6:23] Speaker 2: you want to buy well. And the truth is, in
[6:26] Speaker 2: a winter, I think that your outerwear does all the
[6:28] Speaker 2: heavy lifting. Honestly, if you follow my Instagram, you probably
[6:31] Speaker 2: don't want to hear this again.
[6:32] Speaker 1: No, no, we want to stylish mom.
[6:35] Speaker 2: So you need to know that your outerwear is where
[6:39] Speaker 2: you should invest all your energy because it does all
[6:41] Speaker 2: the hard work.
[6:42] Speaker 1: For you, right, And I mean like you and I
[6:44] Speaker 1: both kind of work in fashion, you more so, so
[6:46] Speaker 1: we can have a lot of fun with our weekday wardrobe.
[6:49] Speaker 1: But for the most part, you know, a lot of
[6:51] Speaker 1: women might have a corporate job, there may be a mom,
[6:53] Speaker 1: they might be studying, so the weekend I mean again,
[6:58] Speaker 1: might not be all that glamorous, but there's a lot
[7:00] Speaker 1: on the weekend. And I find that, you know, with
[7:02] Speaker 1: a six year old, if I'm not doing much, I
[7:05] Speaker 1: even though I've got a wardrobe full of beautiful colthes,
[7:07] Speaker 1: I fall back to my Lululemon leggings, which are great,
[7:10] Speaker 1: but I just grab that same kind of not really
[7:15] Speaker 1: thought through practical stuff. But sometimes we want to feel
[7:18] Speaker 1: good on the weekend if we don't have the lifestyle
[7:20] Speaker 1: of a movie stuff. So I'm going to run you
[7:21] Speaker 1: through some weekend scenarios. You're gonna help us get dressed
[7:25] Speaker 1: for those scenarios in winter. That's not just grabbing the
[7:29] Speaker 1: T shirt that's got yogurt all over it. Yeah, so
[7:31] Speaker 1: weekend sport, a lot of listeners might have kids or
[7:34] Speaker 1: they might just be doing something outdoorsy that's fucking freezing.
[7:37] Speaker 1: So we're on the side like maybe replace with ourselves.
[7:39] Speaker 1: I don't what do we wear to that sort of
[7:42] Speaker 1: scenario in winter. We want to be comfy, we want
[7:45] Speaker 1: to be cozy, but we don't want to be in
[7:47] Speaker 1: our oversized, falling down leggings.
[7:49] Speaker 2: Okay, kind of on the same vein. It's so unfortunate
[7:52] Speaker 2: because I really love this trend, which is the elevated
[7:57] Speaker 2: track pand yes, but God's but unfortunate because it doesn't
[8:00] Speaker 2: look good on me. And I'm one of those people
[8:02] Speaker 2: like it just doesn't.
[8:03] Speaker 1: Okay, so it's not for you, but talk me through
[8:05] Speaker 1: that law.
[8:06] Speaker 2: So that's actually quite a good look. I would recommend
[8:10] Speaker 2: because it's comfy. So it's a track pant, it's a
[8:14] Speaker 2: nice soft fabric, it has the track running alongside it,
[8:19] Speaker 2: and that's right. Yes, And you can find a variety
[8:24] Speaker 2: of these ones. You can find them a big w
[8:27] Speaker 2: They have a great pair at Victoria Woods.
[8:29] Speaker 1: Yeah, and you've got some Camila remark ones.
[8:32] Speaker 2: Everyone's done it, so it's I have tried them in
[8:35] Speaker 2: all the because I was so that is one thing
[8:42] Speaker 2: and the other.
[8:42] Speaker 1: But we wear it with You can wear it.
[8:44] Speaker 2: With a knit. You can. Actually. The other thing I
[8:46] Speaker 2: want to make sure that everybody understands is like the
[8:49] Speaker 2: knits and the layering, so the different versions of them.
[8:52] Speaker 2: Everyone thinks in it has to be chunky and bulky,
[8:55] Speaker 2: but the kind of knits that I am loving are
[8:58] Speaker 2: do you mind if I right now? So basically think
[9:03] Speaker 2: that it's almost I want to say it's skiv, but
[9:06] Speaker 2: it's not. Is that what you call it? This is
[9:08] Speaker 2: from Skims, It's yes, but it's not. It's normal Khmalie
[9:11] Speaker 2: but something like that. So this is kind of like
[9:13] Speaker 2: a oh myos. It's not a scuba fabric, but it
[9:16] Speaker 2: gives you that liquid look. Yeah, actually quite warm. It's
[9:19] Speaker 2: robbery comfortable, So depending on how cold it is, you
[9:23] Speaker 2: can wear this as a layer itself. It's a long
[9:26] Speaker 2: sleeve and it actually has.
[9:28] Speaker 1: No Normal Kamali Oh my god, a finger hole.
[9:30] Speaker 2: A finger hole. So I'm telling you I have this
[9:33] Speaker 2: in black, in navy, in brown obviously brown, and you
[9:38] Speaker 2: can layer it. That looks so cool and it's sexy
[9:42] Speaker 2: as well. I think you know if that's what.
[9:43] Speaker 1: You're going because for those who don't know, Normal Kamali
[9:46] Speaker 1: is the designer that did that iconic sex in the
[9:48] Speaker 1: city run shoulders sort of real stress. I've got that
[9:50] Speaker 1: in the green that I one hundred years ago, but
[9:53] Speaker 1: I thought Normal Kamali was and it's it's a designer,
[9:56] Speaker 1: but it's but it's not that crazy and often on
[9:58] Speaker 1: sale and often I'm safe.
[10:01] Speaker 2: So again that's like a light Yeah, it's like almost
[10:04] Speaker 2: like almost like your active word material, but not quite
[10:07] Speaker 2: do you know what i mean? Eleva Again, similarly, you
[10:11] Speaker 2: can find things not along this sort of fabrication, but
[10:15] Speaker 2: you can find these sort of layers out Uniqlo. Yeah,
[10:17] Speaker 2: clow has. So what I'm trying to say is like
[10:19] Speaker 2: you can have the thin layered situation and then layer
[10:23] Speaker 2: the chunk in it on top for that extra warmth,
[10:25] Speaker 2: and then you have the option of dislayering.
[10:27] Speaker 1: Ye and I also love how like there's a lot
[10:30] Speaker 1: going on around your neckline, and when you look at someone,
[10:32] Speaker 1: you're looking in their eyes, so you look for a
[10:34] Speaker 1: stylectrom up. You haven't even seen what's going on down here.
[10:36] Speaker 1: It's all the where your eyes go.
[10:38] Speaker 2: That's exactly what we're doing with this exactly. So I
[10:42] Speaker 2: recommend stuff like it. So you can wear the elevated
[10:44] Speaker 2: trap pants with something like this, which I actually do
[10:47] Speaker 2: recommend because they're quite looser over time. My formula that
[10:51] Speaker 2: I use is if you're wearing something a bit loose,
[10:54] Speaker 2: you kind of balance it out with something a bit
[10:56] Speaker 2: more body conscious and VI it's not always obviously fitted,
[11:00] Speaker 2: but feitted. Most likely you don't look overwhelmed by your
[11:03] Speaker 2: clothing if you play with proportions. So you can do
[11:06] Speaker 2: it that way. You could do it with a knit
[11:08] Speaker 2: strategically tucked in at one side in the front that
[11:12] Speaker 2: kind of layer it with maybe a jacket or trench depending.
[11:16] Speaker 2: So I find and they're comfortable and they're warm. They're
[11:19] Speaker 2: elevated track pads, you know what I mean.
[11:21] Speaker 1: And you know what I love about those is like,
[11:22] Speaker 1: even if you're just getting the big w one s,
[11:24] Speaker 1: you're spending a lot of money. They're really great for
[11:25] Speaker 1: this winter or maybe next winter to wear out. But
[11:28] Speaker 1: then when something like that starts to just wear over
[11:31] Speaker 1: with time, then they're your house track is they just
[11:34] Speaker 1: go down the lifespan not really wearing like your I
[11:40] Speaker 1: guess leather pants don't run it and don't kind of
[11:42] Speaker 1: wear out. But there's some things that are never going
[11:44] Speaker 1: to be worn around the house and a fancy tracking
[11:46] Speaker 1: pant and then it just gets to stay in and
[11:48] Speaker 1: you go, oh no, you live in the living room.
[11:58] Speaker 1: I'm taking this somewhere else. On the weekend, we're talking
[12:00] Speaker 1: about date night or going out and dressing up, because
[12:03] Speaker 1: one of the biggest questions we get asked here is,
[12:05] Speaker 1: you know, regular listeners might not have a massive wardrobe
[12:08] Speaker 1: or be too experimental, but in somemer they've got it.
[12:10] Speaker 1: They might be going out with the girls. I'll do
[12:12] Speaker 1: jeans in a nice top what we call jeans and
[12:13] Speaker 1: a nice top. But then finding the winter version of that, right,
[12:17] Speaker 1: so what are we wearing?
[12:18] Speaker 2: I actually love winter dress and I think it's a say.
[12:23] Speaker 1: That's why you're a fashion expert.
[12:25] Speaker 2: I'm going to take you on a januine me. Ladies,
[12:27] Speaker 2: stylish moms. And I hope you guys understand that it's
[12:30] Speaker 2: kind of tongue in cheek the whole. You're not a
[12:32] Speaker 2: regular mom, You're a stylish mom. It's more like, remember
[12:35] Speaker 2: you got this.
[12:36] Speaker 1: Yeah, so I make time for you.
[12:38] Speaker 2: Yes, and make time for you. So it's all about
[12:41] Speaker 2: layering and textures. Okay. The very easy one to go
[12:44] Speaker 2: to is I love a good stocking. I love it's
[12:48] Speaker 2: just I think winter is automatically sexy. Think texture. So
[12:52] Speaker 2: let's start with the stocking thing. You don't even have
[12:54] Speaker 2: to say stocking. I say, like an opaque. Is it
[12:56] Speaker 2: like a sheer? It depends, It depends on like if
[13:00] Speaker 2: you it's a sheer obviously, because I don't think it's
[13:02] Speaker 2: like all black. But again, it's on the look. So
[13:05] Speaker 2: if you have there's nothing more sexy to me than
[13:08] Speaker 2: a blazer dress with and it doesn't have to be
[13:11] Speaker 2: super super short, you know, just like the nice blaze
[13:14] Speaker 2: of dress, long sleeve, short sleeve, but like complimented with.
[13:17] Speaker 2: I think even in summer that's a sexy look, but
[13:20] Speaker 2: I think in winter it's more appropriate, especially for weather
[13:23] Speaker 2: and that extra layering kind of thing. The other thing
[13:27] Speaker 2: I love is leather, swap your jeans for a leather
[13:31] Speaker 2: for leather pants, a.
[13:32] Speaker 1: Lot of kind of they don't have to be those
[13:34] Speaker 1: really tight, uncomfortable things. I'm getting a barrel jean in
[13:37] Speaker 1: a leather exactly.
[13:39] Speaker 2: Everyone, let's move on from the tie. I think I'm
[13:41] Speaker 2: getting old because I'm like, nothing tight on me.
[13:43] Speaker 1: Please, don't touch me, don't touch me.
[13:47] Speaker 2: So yes, leather, leather pants, leather jackets, all that kind
[13:51] Speaker 2: of stuff.
[13:51] Speaker 1: And the other thing, do you do double leather? I don't.
[13:54] Speaker 2: I think that's too much.
[13:55] Speaker 1: I tried, because you know how it's double dinner was
[13:58] Speaker 1: scary for a long time, and now which you bore quadrupledeneming.
[14:00] Speaker 1: I was like, well, I can apply that to leather.
[14:02] Speaker 1: And then I tried to do double leather, and I
[14:04] Speaker 1: looked like I was Sandy from Greece or I was
[14:06] Speaker 1: like trying to start a bite.
[14:08] Speaker 2: With Beyonce on tour for Yeah, I.
[14:10] Speaker 1: Just double leather's hard. So maybe a leather pant with.
[14:13] Speaker 2: A leather in it, or a she tarp. Okay, the
[14:16] Speaker 2: shear tarp thing is another kind of thing. Before I
[14:19] Speaker 2: get to thrown off this podcast because a lot of
[14:21] Speaker 2: women don't like this year thing. But a lot of
[14:23] Speaker 2: women do because I think again, you get scared off
[14:27] Speaker 2: because you're thinking sheer and like my Tommy is open
[14:29] Speaker 2: on mys are out. You don't have to have it
[14:32] Speaker 2: could be just your declotage. So it's all about that
[14:38] Speaker 2: you want to love she I am. Honestly, I'm thinking
[14:42] Speaker 2: that I don't care when the trend goes away because
[14:44] Speaker 2: I'm forever going.
[14:44] Speaker 1: To you know, to be back, and you will be
[14:46] Speaker 1: back exactly. That's good for winter sometimes because you know
[14:49] Speaker 1: you're going out at night it's cold or whatever. But
[14:53] Speaker 1: anything that's sort of really covered up just doesn't feel
[14:55] Speaker 1: fancy enough for a sheer. You're still covered, you've got
[14:58] Speaker 1: a bra or a came or whatever. But it's a
[15:00] Speaker 1: bit of a something and they're affordable.
[15:02] Speaker 2: They're everywhere exactly, and it actually gives you that option
[15:05] Speaker 2: of layering, yeah, that you know, extra warmth and comfort
[15:09] Speaker 2: you're looking for.
[15:10] Speaker 1: I had a fancy work event recently and I had
[15:12] Speaker 1: a long sleep. It was very affordable of a long
[15:14] Speaker 1: sleep length like floor length gown that was that sheery fabric.
[15:17] Speaker 1: It wasn't too sheer, but the top I was like,
[15:20] Speaker 1: oh dear, so I lay it another shear top under it.
[15:23] Speaker 1: You couldn't even see the shear top under it, and it
[15:24] Speaker 1: just gave that visual like barrier.
[15:27] Speaker 2: I love it.
[15:28] Speaker 1: Now you and I get to play with our clothes
[15:30] Speaker 1: and call it work. But some people on the weekend
[15:32] Speaker 1: are like, shit, we're running late. I've got to jump
[15:34] Speaker 1: in the ear, but the kids aren't ready. I've got
[15:36] Speaker 1: three minutes, probably thirty seconds to think about my outfit.
[15:40] Speaker 1: What are you grabbing? Or how do we avoid those situations?
[15:43] Speaker 1: Do you think women have a couple of go to outfits?
[15:47] Speaker 2: I actually so. Every season I tried to put out
[15:51] Speaker 2: a look book or like a shopping guide because I
[15:54] Speaker 2: assume or not that I assume, I know from experience
[15:58] Speaker 2: that it's good when you shop around a capsule. Do
[16:01] Speaker 2: you understand? So if you kind of start with the
[16:04] Speaker 2: necessities of what you might need and then again, it's
[16:08] Speaker 2: all about the mix and match and the variety and
[16:10] Speaker 2: the functionality. But it's all there for you. And that's
[16:13] Speaker 2: exactly why brands now when they do the drops, they
[16:16] Speaker 2: essentially do their drops as a capsule you can go.
[16:20] Speaker 2: I've just recently done. Com Shopping with me is on
[16:23] Speaker 2: my Instagram at Jackie at Witchy, a dish and everything
[16:27] Speaker 2: that they do as a drop works too bad. That
[16:30] Speaker 2: is a reason for that. So when you are actually
[16:32] Speaker 2: starting this season, you want to kind of fill in
[16:36] Speaker 2: those gaps, whether it would be the jacket, the.
[16:38] Speaker 1: Pants, you might have some if you try and exactly.
[16:42] Speaker 2: And it's all about that. So I think at the
[16:44] Speaker 2: beginning of a season you kind of do that. So
[16:46] Speaker 2: again in a winter, it's imperative that you kind of
[16:49] Speaker 2: have one or two pieces of outerwear that you just grab.
[16:53] Speaker 1: I'm so glad you say that because you mentioned out
[16:55] Speaker 1: ofwear at the start, and I want to go there
[16:57] Speaker 1: now because I feel like it hides a multitude of sins.
[17:00] Speaker 1: If I do have those baggy, saggy old leggings on,
[17:04] Speaker 1: if I've got great outerwear, no one notices.
[17:06] Speaker 2: Can I just tell you the thing about like my
[17:09] Speaker 2: school mum can vouch for this. It's like two different
[17:11] Speaker 2: people show up and drop it. Like I come in
[17:13] Speaker 2: to drop off my kids with pajamas on becaulous trench.
[17:18] Speaker 1: I walk to school, so I'm literally still in.
[17:20] Speaker 2: My pajama, literally with it, you know, but it covers
[17:23] Speaker 2: up everything. My hand pulled that baseball back and then
[17:25] Speaker 2: on the way back I'm more styling because.
[17:27] Speaker 1: You've been exact if she do.
[17:31] Speaker 2: I know, but it's I am so dependent on outerwear and.
[17:37] Speaker 1: Talk to me about what's your face? So by we
[17:39] Speaker 1: are we still a trench?
[17:41] Speaker 2: Okay, the thing in Melbourne at this particular moment, you
[17:45] Speaker 2: are going to weigh at trench, but you're going to
[17:46] Speaker 2: have to double layer if that's kind of how you
[17:48] Speaker 2: want to go. But I understand if you're going into
[17:50] Speaker 2: an office, you can just like take some layers. So yes,
[17:55] Speaker 2: so the trench could work an oversized trench those classic
[17:59] Speaker 2: you know. Yeah, still not. I don't know if it
[18:03] Speaker 2: will ever because our minds are so oversized at the moment.
[18:06] Speaker 2: So but eventually everything does come back. So good trench.
[18:09] Speaker 2: But that's not what I am leaning towards this season.
[18:13] Speaker 2: I think what I don't know if this is for everybody,
[18:15] Speaker 2: and I'll come back to everybody later. But my biggest
[18:18] Speaker 2: thing that I'm completely obsessed with this season is fair.
[18:23] Speaker 1: Say.
[18:24] Speaker 2: So I'm not sure it's for everybody, but I think
[18:26] Speaker 2: I have like a different and I have really convinced
[18:30] Speaker 2: my cry Again, I'm not I keep saying I'm not
[18:34] Speaker 2: that tall. I'm five to seven, so people say I'm
[18:38] Speaker 2: so tall, but I'm not.
[18:39] Speaker 1: Okay, you would do long or you would do crops
[18:41] Speaker 1: because of.
[18:41] Speaker 2: Your oay, so I would do I would do short
[18:43] Speaker 2: because of my height because I think I'm not that tall.
[18:46] Speaker 2: But that also might have something to do with my hair.
[18:48] Speaker 2: I think it might be just too much. It might
[18:53] Speaker 2: be just too much. And that's why I think, because
[18:55] Speaker 2: I'm very into my proportions, I'm like, Okay, maybe this
[18:58] Speaker 2: is too overwhelming. So I'm always not too much of everything.
[19:01] Speaker 2: Still like a nice I have this one that I
[19:04] Speaker 2: love from Perry Cutton Victorian Woods. That's a great realm
[19:08] Speaker 2: from Zara that kicked it off. There's just a variety
[19:11] Speaker 2: and fake fur and they're so good.
[19:14] Speaker 1: The color I have, I have like a burnt on
[19:17] Speaker 1: my Instagram.
[19:18] Speaker 2: Even in the shopping Guy that I've done, I've made
[19:20] Speaker 2: a selection because there's just so much. It's a huge trend.
[19:23] Speaker 2: And again automatically, how man you notice that?
[19:27] Speaker 1: I mean I have, But I'm not going to school
[19:28] Speaker 1: drop off in a fake I mean I might now tomorrow.
[19:30] Speaker 1: I've never just I'm an oversized bomber a barn jacket
[19:34] Speaker 1: this winter, but I've never thought of wearing my fake
[19:36] Speaker 1: fur in the day.
[19:37] Speaker 2: That well, okay, so I do.
[19:39] Speaker 1: But I'm going to now I'm excited.
[19:42] Speaker 2: I but having fashion. So my excuse is like I've
[19:44] Speaker 2: just come from a sheet and I just encourage everybody
[19:46] Speaker 2: to try something. You know, people are like, well that's
[19:49] Speaker 2: not for me, but have you tried it? So the
[19:51] Speaker 2: other thing I think is actually quite popular and trending
[19:54] Speaker 2: and quite functional is a barn jacket. Like a barn
[19:58] Speaker 2: giant jacket is very chic, It's very princess Kate, Katherine.
[20:02] Speaker 1: It's very sort of I mean, the name says it all.
[20:05] Speaker 1: I mean, you're not that you're in a barn, but
[20:06] Speaker 1: it's generally like a natural colored fiber, like a beige,
[20:10] Speaker 1: like a beige. Yes, I'm very into a bun jacket
[20:14] Speaker 1: at the moment. And I think they're also good trend
[20:15] Speaker 1: season going into spring because although they probably need layering
[20:18] Speaker 1: because they're not super warm, you're gonna wear them like
[20:21] Speaker 1: a lot of around the year, around the year.
[20:23] Speaker 2: I love, love, love that.
[20:24] Speaker 1: And then puffer jackets. So are you anti puffer?
[20:27] Speaker 2: I am?
[20:27] Speaker 1: This was somebody anti puff?
[20:29] Speaker 2: I just can't there's so much variety, not to so
[20:35] Speaker 2: much on the market right now that I actually think.
[20:41] Speaker 1: It's just like wearing a sleeping bag.
[20:43] Speaker 2: That's why you should wear You're going to say that
[20:57] Speaker 2: it's very expensive.
[20:59] Speaker 1: I want bougie and budget, my friend. I want you
[21:05] Speaker 1: to go first. So Victoria, your bougie and budget is
[21:08] Speaker 1: one in the same, because you've got a bit of
[21:10] Speaker 1: a story for us, So tell me what it is.
[21:12] Speaker 2: So I don't know how well I fall into the
[21:15] Speaker 2: category of what you've asked me to research for you,
[21:19] Speaker 2: but I am completely and hodterly And this is why
[21:23] Speaker 2: I know I have a problem because the Row is
[21:26] Speaker 2: such a nothing brand, but.
[21:28] Speaker 1: I am obsessed nothing brand.
[21:32] Speaker 2: Look head it on style, Like even when you go
[21:35] Speaker 2: to the website.
[21:36] Speaker 1: It's very classic and minimal. But it's the cool girl brand.
[21:38] Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. But when you actually see it
[21:40] Speaker 2: on people, you're.
[21:41] Speaker 1: Like, wow, I love it.
[21:42] Speaker 2: It's so fantastic anyway.
[21:44] Speaker 1: But they're so expensive.
[21:45] Speaker 2: So just sometimes I'm surprised that people thinks So this
[21:51] Speaker 2: is why we found the budget version?
[21:53] Speaker 1: Do I do? Show me?
[21:55] Speaker 2: Okay?
[21:55] Speaker 1: So I'm assuming that's not the authentic Margo, which is
[22:00] Speaker 1: like eight thousand, Oh okay, I mean it looks like it,
[22:03] Speaker 1: and if it is, I'm robbing you.
[22:05] Speaker 2: I'm not an idiot. Okay, well sorry, if you have it,
[22:08] Speaker 2: I want.
[22:09] Speaker 1: To say, I don't want to the judge it you
[22:11] Speaker 1: made an impulse purchase a Van Cleef.
[22:12] Speaker 2: It could be, but bank lifts will go up in price.
[22:15] Speaker 1: No, yeah, correct. So the Row has a very iconic,
[22:18] Speaker 1: yes always sold out bag called the Margo, which is
[22:21] Speaker 1: exactly this. So what's that is?
[22:22] Speaker 2: So this is from a brand, an Australian brand, Italian
[22:26] Speaker 2: made Dolcha thema Okay, so this, the original Margo bag
[22:31] Speaker 2: is about thousand, thousand and eight and keeps increasing with
[22:35] Speaker 2: every new release. So this one is six hundred and
[22:41] Speaker 2: fifty dollars, which it's still.
[22:44] Speaker 1: Not cheap, No, it's but it's genuine sways, it looks.
[22:48] Speaker 2: It's actually I know I've seen the real ones. Yeah quite,
[22:51] Speaker 2: you know, because I've looked and that's desired at the window. Yes,
[22:55] Speaker 2: but so I know this is such a fabulous.
[22:59] Speaker 1: But it's right, it's real, swayed right, you can see
[23:02] Speaker 1: the hands ceiling.
[23:03] Speaker 2: Around the inside. It's perfect.
[23:05] Speaker 1: Yeah, it's high.
[23:06] Speaker 2: It's just it looks good good, bad. Six fifty instead
[23:11] Speaker 2: of fifty instead of six thousand over seven thousand sort
[23:14] Speaker 2: of more. Yeah, so she's that is my bougie budget.
[23:19] Speaker 2: But to even take it down a level, you can
[23:23] Speaker 2: actually find these bags because a very easily style. You
[23:25] Speaker 2: can find a very simizara you know all that.
[23:28] Speaker 1: I can't faux leather sorry, in fauxx level fa foa
[23:32] Speaker 1: sweight or real swede.
[23:34] Speaker 2: You can find them for sure.
[23:36] Speaker 1: So we're talking winter, we're talking getting dressed. You're gonna
[23:38] Speaker 1: hate my budget. And I can't wait to tell you
[23:39] Speaker 1: about it. It's from Asoce. It's the Asos design rubberized
[23:45] Speaker 1: rain hooded trench coat with belt detail in burgundy one
[23:49] Speaker 1: hundred and thirty six dollars. It comes in burgundy, black
[23:51] Speaker 1: or khaki. It's literally like wearing a giant rubber coat.
[23:55] Speaker 1: Can I tell you I love it? Okay, salad to
[23:57] Speaker 1: you buy it oversized so I would size up and I.
[24:00] Speaker 2: Really wait, it's rubber, rubber, assize rubber.
[24:03] Speaker 1: Well it goes. It's from size AU four to AU eighteen. Yeah,
[24:08] Speaker 1: I mean it's kind of like from far away might
[24:11] Speaker 1: look leather look, but it's kind of like.
[24:14] Speaker 2: Okay, I know what you mean, Yes, I know what
[24:16] Speaker 2: you mean.
[24:17] Speaker 1: I love the Burgundy.
[24:18] Speaker 2: It's got the lapels because if I'm a habit, I'm lover. Sorry,
[24:21] Speaker 2: lover has the same thing if you google lover. Yeah,
[24:24] Speaker 2: I'm the iconic.
[24:24] Speaker 1: But this is one hundred and thirty six dollars and
[24:27] Speaker 1: I love the burgundy. It's oversized. If you're on the
[24:30] Speaker 1: sidelines of your son's sport and it's a two hour
[24:32] Speaker 1: game and it's just started pissing down rain, I mean,
[24:34] Speaker 1: I know I would leave. But it's literally fully waterproof,
[24:36] Speaker 1: So you're beautiful casual underneath is not no, it's literally waterproof.
[24:41] Speaker 1: They're very cool. Look, it's that all the puffer for me,
[24:44] Speaker 1: so I can go because I'm periman apausal, so I
[24:47] Speaker 1: like to have nicer layers underneath, and then like literally.
[24:50] Speaker 2: Like wear no more bummer.
[24:51] Speaker 1: Not now it's like wearing a well it's a rain coat.
[24:55] Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, all right, So this is my bougie and
[24:58] Speaker 1: you're gonna hate it, and I can't wait to tell
[25:00] Speaker 1: you about it. It's not all that expensive, but I'm
[25:03] Speaker 1: obsessed with We've seen in the last sort a month
[25:05] Speaker 1: or so one of the biggest trends I've ever seen
[25:07] Speaker 1: in winter is the explosion of the all cardigan with
[25:11] Speaker 1: the built in scarf. Everyone has done them. My favorite one, well,
[25:15] Speaker 1: of course I'm not playing favorites, but it's the Zara
[25:18] Speaker 1: woolcoat with scarf. It's one hundred and eighty five dollars,
[25:20] Speaker 1: so it's this really kind of beautiful gray wool coat,
[25:23] Speaker 1: almost like a blazer, and then the scarf's built in.
[25:26] Speaker 1: Everyone's doing it, so it's like, you know what, you
[25:29] Speaker 1: check on your coat, you run out of the door, you
[25:30] Speaker 1: get to the bus, and you go, shit, I forgot
[25:32] Speaker 1: my scarf. No you didn't, it's built in. And there's
[25:35] Speaker 1: some beautiful cardigans. Next has some really beautiful cardigans with scarves.
[25:39] Speaker 1: Everyone's doing them. I think I've even seen a Target version.
[25:42] Speaker 1: So that's a really easy, fast way to get dressed
[25:45] Speaker 1: in winter. Is like outerwear with the scarf built in.
[25:48] Speaker 2: Yeah, Mischa has a good one as well, a long
[25:50] Speaker 2: gray coat with that scarf tail.
[25:53] Speaker 1: Love it, Victoria. I could chut to you for the
[25:55] Speaker 1: rest of my life, so you're gonna have to come
[25:56] Speaker 1: back soon. Thank you for keeping us warm and not
[25:59] Speaker 1: wearing our dagg is closed this winter.
