Manchester United were held to a 2-2 draw by Everton — but what did the performance tell us about Michael Carrick’s team and where they are at this early stage of the season? Adam Joseph joins for the latest Man Utd State of Play to look back at the draw, why United failed to turn the game into three points and whether Carrick got his substitutions and response right as the match developed. There’s also discussion around Gary Neville’s criticism, the debate over United’s best XI and how Carrick finds the right balance within a squad that suddenly has plenty of options. Plus, Luke Shaw’s performances come under the microscope, the left-back situation is assessed, and there’s a look at Senne Lammens and whether he was at fault for Everton’s goals. After a chaotic 2-2 draw, how concerned should United be?
