## Transcript

[0:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: About two years ago, I posted my very first YouTube video and it was about me being afraid to make YouTube videos.
[0:14] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And three years ago, I posted my very first audio episode of the podcast which was about me putting it off for months because I was afraid to hit publish.
[0:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And now three years later, I have come to the end of the road as this version of myself.
[0:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I'm at a place where I can either choose to stay the same and live my life as I have been and remain stagnant and not see any growth and then eventually get miserable or I can make a drastic change and I can change my life and that's what I'm going to do.
[0:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So in the next five months I am going to be on a journey of becoming the best version of myself like going to another level of me.
[0:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I'm encouraging you to hold me accountable and hopefully join me so that we can make the most out of the remainder of the year.
[0:59] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So in this video I'm going to tell you ten things that I'm going to be doing to change my life in the next five months and it's not the typical tips that you will see on YouTube with productivity and glow up and how to change your appearance.
[1:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: so if you want some real tips actually become a better version of yourself actually become a better person then I encourage you to watch all the way through because number eight especially is going to hit you upside the head and I will also be documenting my journey on TikTok as well so you can hold me accountable real time so without further ado let us get into the tips
[1:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The first thing that I'm going to be doing is developing and aligning my life with core values.
[1:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Your core values literally represent what you think is the most important thing in your life or things in your life.
[1:43] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The things you prioritize, right?
[1:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The things that are of utmost importance to you, the standards that you create for yourself.
[1:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Let me give you an example so you understand how to apply this in your life.
[1:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: On one end, you can say, I want to go to the gym because I want to lose weight and I want to look like this body type.
[2:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: This is my body goal.
[2:01] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I want to build muscle.
[2:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I want to do this blah blah blah.
[2:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I want to go to the gym and I want to start working out because I have my birthday coming up or summer or something, whatever, whatever.
[2:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Right?
[2:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's that's one end.
[2:14] \[SPEAKER_00\]: On the other end, you can say, health is a core value of mine.
[2:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I prioritize my health.
[2:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Therefore, as a healthy person, it is just normal and natural for me to go to the gym.
[2:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It is no more for me to be healthy.
[2:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It is no more for me to eat healthy.
[2:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It is no more for me to avoid things that would make me unhealthy.
[2:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You see what I mean?
[2:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So, whereas over here, it might be harder because you have to not convince yourself to go to the gym and eat right or stick to a meal plan and do all of these things that you feel like
[2:43] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It feels like pulling teeth over hair.
[2:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: If health is just your core value, then you do those things because that's simply who you are, right?
[2:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And that's an example in my personal life because health is one of my core values.
[2:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So even when I'm stringing away from it by let's say I'm eating out more than usual, I feel it.
[3:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I feel convicted because I know that's not the standard that I said for myself.
[3:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You see what I mean?
[3:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So there's a deeper conviction because it is a value.
[3:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So when you make something a value of yours, you prioritize that above everything else and it becomes a part of your identity versus a one-off goal that you want to accomplish.
[3:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So in the next five months, I'm going to be prioritizing my values and making sure that my goals and the things that I do, my lifestyle aligns with those values.
[3:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So that I don't even have to tell you my values, you can just see it.
[3:33] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The second thing is after I create those values, I'm going to create a list of what I call move the needle goals, right?
[3:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So what I mean by that is these are the things that are the most important things that you can do to get you the results that you want.
[3:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So if being a YouTuber is your goal and you have no videos out, then you are wasting your time.
[3:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Right?
[3:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Because your first couple of videos are going to be trash.
[3:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Mine was trash.
[3:59] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Everybody's first couple of videos is trash, but you get better with reps.
[4:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So if you are holding yourself back because you don't have a camera,
[4:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: or because you don't have a name for your channel or because somebody on fiber hasn't sent you a logo or a intro that you like it, you are wasting your time.
[4:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The move the needle goal is what is the most important thing that you can do to get you the result that you want, that you can say if I do this, then I have achieved that goal or that I'm more aligned with that goal or the result that I want, right?
[4:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I cannot call myself a YouTuber if I don't have a single video out on a YouTube channel.
[4:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You see what I mean?
[4:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So me getting a camera is irrelevant because I can use my phone.
[4:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't have to have an expensive camera.
[4:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So me saying that I can afford a thousand dollars, eight hundred dollars camera right now is the reason why I don't have a YouTube channel.
[4:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That does not make sense.
[4:56] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I can use my phone.
[4:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The move the new goal is what is the most important things that you can do to get you the results that you want, right?
[5:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: These are the things that
[5:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm going to prioritize these other things you should prioritize that things that will create the biggest impact or help you get to the goal faster because everything else is just fluff and we tend to get distracted with busy goals a lot so that's why I'm creating my short list of move the needle goals and I have to prioritize that and the other task cannot take precedent over these things these things have to be the priority
[5:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The third thing is creating a list of get it together goals.
[5:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: This is another thing that I made up for myself.
[5:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: This is for any of the things that you have been procrastinating on for just way too long.
[5:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The things you have put off for just way too long, the things you've been saying that you would do, the things that you've been talking about, that you have no progress to show for it, you have nothing to show for it.
[5:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The things that you wanted to do for so long, but there's still a question mark when it comes to it, right?
[6:01] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You have no updates.
[6:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The get it together, goals is the list of things that, at this point, you need to do it so that you can have some self-respect.
[6:13] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Okay, plain and simple.
[6:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You have been talking about it for too long, either do it or stop talking about it.
[6:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's what I mean.
[6:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: In the next five months, you just have to get it out of the way.
[6:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Just do it so you can have some self-respect.
[6:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So you can say that I've at least tried it.
[6:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Even if it didn't work out, it's not a what if on your list anymore.
[6:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: stop letting that take up part of your mental capacity part of your focus where you could focus on other things on the move the needle goals but you have these things that you've been putting off for so long so you have to give them some attention to get out of the way like it's either going to work or it's it won't work but at least you won't have to think what if anymore like just do it get it out of the way the fourth thing I'm going to be doing is having visionary meetings I got this idea a long time ago from a YouTube creator like
[7:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: years ago.
[7:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Her name is Erin May Henry.
[7:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't know if she still makes content, but I'm giving credit where credit is due.
[7:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Visionary meetings are essentially periodic meetings with yourself so that you can keep your goals top of mind and you can assist your progress towards those goals.
[7:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I do it weekly monthly and quarterly, right?
[7:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So at the end of every week or at the beginning of every week on Mondays in the evenings, I have a visionary meeting where I reflect on the past week.
[7:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: What were my goals?
[7:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: What did I accomplish?
[7:33] \[SPEAKER_00\]: What didn't I accomplish?
[7:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: What adjustments do I have to make going forward?
[7:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: This is important because if you just go through life drifting, not aware of your goals, not aware of what you're working towards, just vibes.
[7:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You are going to get a point where you are going to get to a point where you feel stagnant, where you feel like nothing is moving, where you aren't even able to be grateful because you're not seeing the things that you're accomplishing, or you're not being mindful of the areas you are slacking off in so that you can pick up the pace because you are not keeping up with your goals.
[8:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So what that does is every week, it holds me accountable for the things that I say I want to accomplish.
[8:13] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It gives me a reminder of what I'm working towards, so I never forget and start drifting or let social media and other distractions take up too much of my time.
[8:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Because I'm actually seeing the progress that I'm making or not making towards certain goals and I can adjust the goals or myself, right?
[8:33] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So that's number four.
[8:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Have visionary meetings every week, every month, every quarter, review your goals, assess how you performed,
[8:43] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Are you tracking towards those goals?
[8:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And then also come up with the goals and the plan for the following week or the following month or the following quarter, right?
[8:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So keeping it at the top of mind so you don't forget it and you don't stress and start wasting time.
[8:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The fifth thing and I love this so much.
[9:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I've been doing this so often lately and I've been loving it and hitting it but loving it even more.
[9:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And that's focus on continuous improvement, not
[9:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: perfection.
[9:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: As somebody who is a retiring perfectionist, which if you struggle with that, go watch my video on perfectionism.
[9:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's great.
[9:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It will help you.
[9:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I have been focusing on continuous improvement and progression versus trying to get everything right or perfectionism.
[9:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: right off the bat.
[9:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Whatever it is I'm doing, if I know that the perfectionism tendencies are creeping in like, all right, let's plan this step and this step and that's step and do we have step eight?
[9:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Figure it out yet?
[9:43] \[SPEAKER_00\]: No, but before I even do that, I'm like, all right, this is step one, this is what we've done so far, put it out there.
[9:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Put it out there and see how it works.
[9:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I have been literally running through my ideas and improving my ideas at a much faster pace because I am not wasting time trying to make an idea perfect and then that idea is not even something I'm supposed to do or it's going to flop anyway.
[10:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Here's the thing.
[10:13] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Five months will go by regardless, right?
[10:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But five months from now, you can either still be sitting on an idea with five months of research and no feedback or you can put something out there and focus on continuous improvement.
[10:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: because you get immediate feedback and you have gotten feedback for five months now.
[10:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So you are much better than where you started because you have five months of feedback and five months of improvement.
[10:43] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Let's say it's the example of being a YouTuber.
[10:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Five months from now, you can either have
[10:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Five months worth of videos.
[10:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: If you put out one week through the math, that's a lot more than one.
[10:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You can either have five months of videos every week, which are now getting more views because you've been improving.
[11:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: People have been commenting and telling you what they like, what they don't like, you're seeing what thumbnails do well, what doesn't do well, what type of content people like from you.
[11:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And so your five months down the line with feedback and better videos, or your five months down the line releasing your first video and nobody watched it.
[11:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You see what I mean?
[11:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: In the next five months, focus on continuous improvement versus perfectionism.
[11:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: If you have something, put it out there and get feedback and refine it versus researching it for months and weeks and hours a day and not doing anything until you believe it's perfect.
[11:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The sixth thing I will be doing is reducing decision fatigue by making my life simpler, okay?
[11:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: What do I mean by that?
[11:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Decision fatigue is basically when we feel overwhelmed by how many decisions we have to make about so many things and then ironically enough sometimes that paralyzes us from making a decision because we have too many decisions to make or it just holds us back and makes us waste time, right?
[12:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So let me give an example in my life.
[12:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I create content.
[12:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I create YouTube videos.
[12:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You're watching one right now unless you're listening to the audio on Spotify.
[12:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I have wasted way too much time being concerned with what I wear to record the content and I make that too much of a big deal when people aren't even focusing on what I'm wearing or how many times I've worn it.
[12:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So to reduce the decision fatigue of what am I going to wear?
[12:33] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Have I planned my outfits to record?
[12:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You see what I'm wearing right now?
[12:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Get ready to see it in a lot of videos, okay?
[12:40] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Because I have a lot of these two pieces which I get on Amazon.
[12:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I have them in a lot of colors and I have this like athletic jacket thing that I got from TikTok shop for five dollars by the way.
[12:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I got them in many colors, both sets in many colors, right?
[12:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I am just going to wear these sets back and forth, mix and match for like the remainder of my videos until I decide on a different uniform because that's my house uniform, right?
[13:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I have lounge sets that I wear around the house and I decided that instead of doing the most and wasting so much time figuring out
[13:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: what I'm going to wear or blah blah blah to record a video, I'm like, you know what, I'm going to record in my outfits, mix and match them.
[13:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So that way, when I'm recording, I don't have to, I have one less decision to make because I'm not thinking of what I'm wearing.
[13:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I am simply going to wear the same thing in a different color and focus on the content because that's what you're here for.
[13:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You're not here for what I am wearing, okay?
[13:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: If you see me wear it more than once, mind your business.
[13:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So that's an example in my life.
[13:43] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I want you to think about,
[13:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The areas in your life where you have certain things that you know you need to do or things that you do very often, but there are different aspects of that thing that create decision fatigue that slow you down.
[13:56] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's why you hear stories about how certain rich people like Mark Zuckerberg, they were like the same thing all the time.
[14:01] \[SPEAKER_00\]: A same T-shirt and jeans all the time because it takes too much time out of your day
[14:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: to just think about what am I going to wear and how am I going to style this and blah blah blah.
[14:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's an example.
[14:13] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Some people do that with food too instead of figuring out what you're going to eat every single day, every single week, every single month for the rest of your life.
[14:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Some people will eat the same thing for breakfast like for a year, the same thing for lunch, same thing for dinner.
[14:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm not there yet.
[14:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I like variety.
[14:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Okay.
[14:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But I have created a menu that I just rotate back and forth because sometimes it gets exhausting to think about what I'm going to eat after I've just made a million decisions throughout my workday.
[14:43] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You see what I mean?
[14:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I want things I'm going to do and I want things I'm encouraging you to do is see how you can make your life simpler.
[14:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: by doing things on repeat and automatic so that you don't have to make a different decision on that thing every single time because it's just taking up space in your mind that you could use for something else for your move the needle goals.
[15:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Now the seventh thing I will be doing and I am sorry but you have heard this one before.
[15:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It is creating my aesthetic vision boards with an S. I do vision boards a little bit differently because I am a visual person and sometimes I don't like to see a bunch of words on a paper.
[15:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I like to be able to see the thing.
[15:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: What I do specifically is I create a mini vision board not too much not like fifty pictures.
[15:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I create a mini vision board for the different categories of my life for the things that I am working towards as long as it's something that I feel like I need to actually see.
[15:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't need to create a vision board or I don't need to put something on a vision board that's going to be like
[15:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: money.
[15:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't need to see money.
[15:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I know what money looks like, right?
[15:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But I might need to see something that I want the money to buy.
[15:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like say like a nice vacation.
[16:01] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I might put like the specific room for that vacation that I want to stay at.
[16:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, you know, like an infinity pool.
[16:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Nice view overlooking the ocean type of room or whatever.
[16:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I might put that specifically on there to remind me.
[16:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But certain things I feel like
[16:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't make vision boards that's traditional way where I put a bunch of coats on there.
[16:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't need to see words.
[16:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't need to see these things.
[16:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: They're just certain categories of my life.
[16:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like when it comes to beauty for example, like I'm thinking of changing my hair, doing something else with my hair.
[16:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I need to see what that looks like.
[16:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I'm going to put that on my beauty vision board.
[16:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I actually have a reinvent yourself planner that you can see in the cards on my YouTube or like the links are always in the description.
[16:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I created that planner because that's how I do vision boards.
[16:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I need to see the different categories and I need to put it in there.
[16:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I need to see what the hairstyle that I want to change my hair to would look like so I can remind myself of it.
[16:59] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You see what I mean?
[17:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So it's kind of the same but it's kind of specific to what I need to see.
[17:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I'm creating those mini vision boards for myself based on what I want to do in the next five months.
[17:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Now let's get to number eight.
[17:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The one that's going to slap you upside your head.
[17:14] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The A thing is focusing on discipline and not in motivation.
[17:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Here's something I have realized about myself and if the shoe fits, then wear it.
[17:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But why is it that when it comes to a job, we can wake up early, we can wake up on the first alarm or we can get up, right?
[17:33] \[SPEAKER_00\]: When it comes to a job because we know we have to go to work and somebody else is holding us accountable, but when it comes to waking up to work on something that you want to work on, suddenly you snooze in your alarm.
[17:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Suddenly you're making all of these excuses and just define why you can put it off until later.
[17:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Why is it that when you know, say for example, you have to wake up really early tomorrow to go to work or to go to something else.
[18:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Another obligation that somebody else is holding you accountable to.
[18:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So you make sure you go to bed on time so that you can feel well rested enough.
[18:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: to get up and not feel too miserable but when it's time let's say you have the weekend and it's Saturday and you want to do something early maybe you want to take an early workout class or there's something your day is packed and you know that it will be best for you to wake up earlier but you stay up until like four in the morning watching Netflix
[18:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: and then you justify it to yourself that you deserve this and you deserve the rest.
[18:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Don't you deserve your goals too?
[18:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Don't you deserve the things that you want to?
[18:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You have to learn how to put off instant gratification and do what's required and not what you feel like.
[18:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You see what I mean?
[18:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I realize that.
[18:47] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I was at a point where I was doing what was required when it was required of me from other people, but when it was required of me for myself, for the things that I say I wanted, suddenly I had a nice list of good
[19:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: excuses and things that I was justifying putting it off because well it's me I can do it I can change the time I can wake up late if I want to I can snooze if I want to I can move this goal out a month if I want to but if you're at work and they tell you this thing needs to be done by end of day would you not do it by end of day
[19:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Okay, but why is it that when you say this goal, this thing on my to-do list for myself, for my purpose, for my dreams, for the things that I want, when I say I'm going to do this today, why do I feel so comfortable pushing it into the next day?
[19:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You see what I mean?
[19:40] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I can do it for a job, but I can't do it for myself, and then complain about how much I hate the job, but the job gets more of me than I give myself.
[19:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You see what I mean?
[19:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And here's the thing.
[19:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I know it's because the job pays us.
[19:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I know it's because there's a paycheck attached that pays our rent, pays for our lifestyle, et cetera, et cetera.
[20:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But so think about however much you make.
[20:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So you tell me that's enough to make you live a life that you'll forever be miserable and put off all the things that you want forever and ever amen.
[20:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like whatever they pay in you now, you can leave your job and get a pairies.
[20:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But for whatever they're paying you now, that's enough to say you know what the things that I really want are not that important.
[20:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Right?
[20:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Because you can do it for that amount.
[20:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But some people, some people, some of us are sitting on ideas that can make you way more than you make at your job.
[20:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But whatever the pain you write now, that's not even satisfied with.
[20:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's still as you complain about inflation.
[20:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's enough for you to say, you know what?
[20:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Let me do everything that job wants me to do.
[20:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And let me just create excuses when it's time for me to do what I need to do for me.
[20:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You see what I mean?
[20:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I know the paycheck is important, but I'm not saying it is not, okay, pay or bills, pay or rent, okay?
[20:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But you need to put just as much effort if not more for the things that you say you want and not just the things that other people require of you.
[21:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: not just because it has a check attached to it, not just because you don't want to disappoint people, right?
[21:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You need to get to a point where you fear disappointing yourself the most and I've gotten to that point in
[21:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: other areas of my life, but there's still somewhere I'm like, no, I need to stop making excuses regardless of how good they might seem because it is within my control, right?
[21:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But I just seem to resort to excuses and justification when it comes to me holding myself accountable, but I just feel so empowered and so encouraged and so motivated, so inspired when it's to do something for somebody else.
[21:47] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We need to flip that around.
[21:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You see what I mean?
[21:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I'm checking myself too, okay?
[21:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So that's the thing I'm going to be doing.
[21:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Focus it on discipline and doing what is required and not motivation.
[22:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't need motivation from somebody else's paycheck.
[22:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Somebody else holding me accountable for something.
[22:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I need to get to a point where I do it for me is enough.
[22:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Doing it because that's what God wants me to do and what God requires of me is enough.
[22:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Right?
[22:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That should be enough.
[22:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That requires discipline.
[22:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That requires you being able to forgo instant gratification and put in things off because you don't feel like it.
[22:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Whether you feel like it or not is irrelevant, if you have to do it, do it, get it done.
[22:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Right?
[22:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So that's number eight.
[22:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Number nine is getting a distance and possibly also a close mentor.
[22:43] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Now, the thing about mentors, most people like get so confused and feel so lost and, you know, just unraveled when you say get a mentor because they feel like, well, am I going to find one, did it?
[22:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't make it that complicated.
[22:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I simply find somebody who's excelling at something I want to excel at online and I take notes.
[23:01] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's very simple, right?
[23:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I have been watching a lot of content about like posting on social media and like having a business and all of this other stuff from my distant mentor.
[23:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I won't say who he is, whatever.
[23:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Okay.
[23:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But I have a lot of distant mentors.
[23:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Just like the people
[23:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Who post educational content or some aspect of their life resembles something that you want?
[23:28] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm not saying to be jealous.
[23:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm not saying to covet.
[23:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm not saying to envy.
[23:33] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I am saying if they have already accomplished what you want to accomplish, maybe take notes.
[23:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Right, maybe take notes.
[23:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You don't have to reach out to them.
[23:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You don't have to know them personally, but if they're teaching you how to get what you want and you see they already have it, maybe take notes, right?
[23:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You can consider that person a distant mentor because you might not have anybody in your life who's going to encourage you to do the things that you really want to do.
[24:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's okay.
[24:01] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We have the internet.
[24:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It is free.
[24:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It is not free, but we have the internet, use it.
[24:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You have access to it, use it.
[24:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Find somebody who is teaching or showing you what you want to have and learn from them.
[24:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: If you can find somebody in real life, if you can make that connection, great, right?
[24:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Because you'll have that personalized mentorship, relationship, and that's great.
[24:26] \[SPEAKER_00\]: If you don't, if you can't find somebody online, learn from them, take notes.
[24:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Do not idolize them.
[24:33] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Do not make their life your angle.
[24:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: People are not perfect.
[24:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: People will disappoint you.
[24:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's why you just take what you need and you leave what you don't.
[24:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Okay?
[24:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But if they're teaching you something that you want to learn, learn from them.
[24:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Get a distant mentor, stop consuming junk all day on social media, stop with the foolishness.
[24:56] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know, if you're going to consume consume something that's also educational, right, commit to one hour a day.
[25:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So that's number nine.
[25:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And number ten is to get accountability and support.
[25:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That is actually my intention with this video.
[25:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I
[25:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: realize that now once I have now said that I am going to change my life in next five months I know I cannot come back here in the next five months or even in the next month and I'm still talking about things that I want to do that I'm that I haven't done or I'm not making progress.
[25:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Literally, sometimes when you declare things out loud in public, it's very hard to go back from it.
[25:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: If you're the type of person who cares about your credibility, because some people don't, right, if that's you, whatever.
[25:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But I don't want those people.
[25:43] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So literally, my intention with this video and the series that I'm about to make on TikTok
[25:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: is me saying, okay, you put it out there.
[25:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Now, how important is your credibility to you?
[25:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So now, when I want to snooze, when I want to slack off or not do something, it's like, well, you just told a bunch of people that you're going to do this.
[26:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So they're going to expect results or you're going to look like a fraud.
[26:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I am no fraud.
[26:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So literally accountability, you find someone or people, because I don't know your personally, but I appreciate you if you watch me.
[26:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So it's not like a personal accountability, but you have full permission to drag me in the comments if I am not doing what I say I would do.
[26:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And again, I have already resolved to the point where I'm like whether nobody watches this video or holds me accountable.
[26:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I still have to do this for myself because I told you I'm at the end of the road.
[26:43] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I've come to the end of this version of myself.
[26:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm not going to drag it out any longer.
[26:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I have to do this for myself.
[26:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It doesn't matter if you hold me accountable.
[26:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I have to do it for myself, right?
[26:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So, but their accountability helps.
[26:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So, the tenth thing is accountability and support.
[27:01] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And that's why I'm actually working on creating a community to where if you are interested in joining me on this journey, we can be in like a private group and we can post our goals and hold each other accountable and you know support each other, jump on calls, have you know this type of chitchat's not all this stuff?
[27:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm working on all of that.
[27:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: If you're interested, I will leave a link in the description for you to sign up for a wait list for that.
[27:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's something that I feel like is so important because every time I have ever had a goal and I worked in a group of people who are working on the same thing, who are working on improving a skill or becoming better in general or on something specific.
[27:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: that always motivated me to do more because you cannot be in a group of people who are working on bettering themselves and you just stay stagnant.
[27:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You are going to feel so uncomfortable in that environment if you are not operating at that level.
[27:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's why I believe community and support and accountability is important.
[28:01] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I'm working on creating a community so we can do that together.
[28:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But these are the ten things that I'm going to be focusing on.
[28:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And like I said again, I also have the gold planner that I will give to you for free if you want it, if you want to join me on this journey and make the next five months count.
[28:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You just have to go to zikuletoss.com slash planner and I will send it to you.
[28:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And if you're interested in the community, I will also leave a link in the description for you as well.
[28:26] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But if you got any value from this episode, if there is something that you want to share, whatever it is that you want to change the next five months, then feel free to leave a comment below and let me know.
[28:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And leave a comment letting me know which one was your favorite number, like which one on the list.
[28:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Hit you the most or which one on the list was your favorite and it's something that you will actually implement, okay?
[28:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like I said, I'm doing all of these things and I just am just sharing in the hopes that they helped you.
[28:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So that is all I have to say.
[28:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: In case you don't know, new episodes will now be released every Wednesday and not Sunday, okay?
[29:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I will talk to you next Wednesday.
