What if the world’s most famous underdog story holds the key to your biggest life-and-death battles today? In this episode of Deepen, Pastors Joby Martin, Ryan Britt and Jonathan Vinke unpack the timeless underdog story of David and Goliath to reveal how God’s grand redemptive narrative carries through both Old Testament history and our modern-day struggles. From flannel graphs and Rocky IV analogies to lessons on spiritual authority, fear versus faith, and the dangers of success-driven complacency, you’ll discover practical next steps for living by faith—one obedient step at a time. Whether you’re wrestling with fear, craving control, or sensing a nudge toward the next season of obedience, Pastor Joby shows how David’s anointing, Saul’s downfall, and even Tom Brady’s championship mindset all point us back to a King who fights on our behalf. Tune in and be encouraged: if the tomb is empty, anything is possible. 📌 Episode Mentions: • Scripture Passage: 1 Samuel 17 (David and Goliath) • Tale of Three Kings by Gene Edwards • Wallpaper Generator: Text FIGHT → 441122 for a customizable battle-verse wallpaper • Lifework Leadership in Jacksonville equips local leaders to navigate an uncertain, complex world and flourish through a nine-month, faith-infused leadership journey. 📌 Supplemental Sermon Resources: • This Week's Story: Ben & Rachel Sykes' Story • This Week's Sermon: David Fights Goliath • In The Arena Sermon Series: In The Arena About The Church of Eleven22 The Church of Eleven22® is a movement for all people to discover and deepen a relationship with Jesus Christ.
