However never in the middle of a story or at the end. Please be assured all ad blocks have been applied to ensure no over 18 or inappropriate ads are played. However, there may be the odd occasion where an advert slips through the net because the company submitting them submits them under a category that is not correct. This happens very rarely and I do my upmost to stop this happening. If this happens, please email me at shortstoriesforkids@gmail.com and let me know the following information: What the ad was for? What state you live in? And what episode you heard it on and I will immediately contact Spreaker to block the ad. I take this very seriously and I really appreciate your support and co-operation. Running adverts is necessary to allow us to operate, but please do consider the premium subscription service as an alternative – it’s ad free.

## Transcript

[0:07] Speaker 1: Mia had always wondered where missing things went. Socks disappeared
[0:12] Speaker 1: from the washing machine, pencils vanished from her school bag,
[0:16] Speaker 1: and her favorite pink hairbrush had been missing for three
[0:19] Speaker 1: whole weeks. Her dad said she was simply untidy, but
[0:23] Speaker 1: Mia was convinced there was a much more interesting explanation.
[0:28] Speaker 1: One Saturday morning, while searching beneath her bed for a
[0:31] Speaker 1: missing trainer, Mia discovered something very unusual. There was a
[0:36] Speaker 1: tiny wooden door in the skirting board, no bigger than
[0:40] Speaker 1: a postcard. It had a golden handle, a little brass knocker,
[0:44] Speaker 1: and a sign that read, Lost Property Department. Please knock politely. Well,
[0:50] Speaker 1: that's strange, Mia whispered. She tapped three times on the door.
[0:55] Speaker 1: A little voice shouted, We're closed! But I haven't even
[0:59] Speaker 1: told you what I want! We're still closed! Mia folded
[1:03] Speaker 1: her arms. I've lost my pink hairbrush, three socks, and
[1:07] Speaker 1: a silver bracelet. I think you might have them. There
[1:11] Speaker 1: was a sudden clattering sound, followed by a loud crash.
[1:15] Speaker 1: The door swung open, revealing a tiny man with an
[1:18] Speaker 1: enormous ginger mustache, a blue sailor's hat, and a waistcoat
[1:23] Speaker 1: covered in pockets. Did you say three socks? He gasped. Yes, why? Oh,
[1:30] Speaker 1: crumbs and custard! That's worse than I thought! Before Mia
[1:34] Speaker 1: could reply, the little man grabbed her finger and pulled. Somehow,
[1:39] Speaker 1: she began shrinking. Her bedroom grew taller and taller until
[1:43] Speaker 1: her bed looked like a mountain and her slippers resembled
[1:47] Speaker 1: enormous furry boats.
