Colin’s joined by John Middlekauff, host of “3 and Out” to break down all the NFL action. They start with the Broncos beating the Chiefs to blow the AFC West race wide open & they credit Sean Payton for building a stacked roster while still paying big dead cap money to Russell Wilson, and debate whether the Chiefs dynasty is officially over (3:30). They move to the Rams win over the Seahawks and Colin argues that if the roles were reversed and Matt Stafford had thrown 4 interceptions instead of Sam Darnold…. the game wouldn’t have been close, and they agree the Rams have Darnold’s number (16:45). They pivot to the Bears walk-off win over the Vikings and they both agree that J.J. McCarthy does NOT look like a starting quarterback, and that the contrast between McCarthy and Caleb Williams could not be more stark. They also tip their cap to Ben Johnson for creating a winning culture in Chicago (30:00). They recap the Bills win over the Bucs and Colin declares Josh Allen the best football player on the planet and that he IS the Bills franchise. They argue it was a must win game for the Bills and a loss could have been the beginning of the end for Sean McDermott (41:15). They recap the Ravens ugly win over the Browns in Shedeur Sanders debut (54:00), and argue the Packers are afraid of turning Jordan Love loose in the passing game after their narrow win over the Giants (56:45). They give kudos to both Kyle Shanahan and Brock Purdy for hanging 41 on the Cardinals in Purdy’s first game back from injury (1:02:00). Finally, they move to college football and Colin argues that the transfer portal and NIL have created incredible parity at the top of the college football ranks and give their takeaways of the top contenders (1:14:00). [0:27] Speaker 1: my wife fifteen minutes ago. Yes, that's right, an extra

[0:58] Speaker 1: See the app for details. Pizza, pizza, extra extra. Something's
[1:01] Speaker 1: going on here, all right. Former NFL scout. You know
[1:08] Speaker 1: it was John Middlecoff. His podcast is three and out.
[1:12] Speaker 1: He is everywhere during the football season, and my Blazing
[1:16] Speaker 1: five is on a freaking heater four and oh today,
[1:19] Speaker 1: I couldn't get a break in September, I'm getting every break.
[1:22] Speaker 1: When Shador Sanders came in, I was like, wait, Cleveland
[1:26] Speaker 1: Leeds sixteen to ten. I've got the Browns plus eight
[1:29] Speaker 1: and a half, just no pick sixes. And he actually
[1:31] Speaker 1: had a nice like final dry little spin move throwing
[1:34] Speaker 1: the ends on. You know, okay, I was It was
[1:36] Speaker 1: really entertaining. So let's start Denver twenty two Kansas City nineteen.
[1:42] Speaker 1: So the Broncos are now nine and two. The Chiefs
[1:45] Speaker 1: are a five hundred team. They're a hell of a
[1:46] Speaker 1: five hundred team. Kansas City's a good team. Bo Nicks
[1:51] Speaker 1: twenty four to thirty seven, two ninety five. Again no
[1:55] Speaker 1: big mistakes. What's interesting against Spags in that defense, John,
[1:59] Speaker 1: you know, really struggled. But they for the first time
[2:02] Speaker 1: in nine weeks, they scored on their opening drive and
[2:05] Speaker 1: it was as if Bow and Sean found a rhythm,
[2:10] Speaker 1: certainly on enough drives to get field goals that they
[2:13] Speaker 1: hadn't had. But It was one of those games when
[2:16] Speaker 1: you watched Sam Darnold unravel and you watched a lot
[2:19] Speaker 1: of quarterbacks. Today there was some ugly quarterback play. This
[2:23] Speaker 1: is where bo Nix is really good. He doesn't take sacks,
[2:26] Speaker 1: he can move the chains with his legs. He's really
[2:29] Speaker 1: good in these big fourth quarter drives. I know he
[2:33] Speaker 1: drives everybody nuts, but there is something to be said
[2:36] Speaker 1: about today against Mahomes, milking that clock, making that big
[2:40] Speaker 1: throw down the stretch. Well, it's your interpretation of Nicks
[2:44] Speaker 1: and what you saw today.
[2:46] Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean that final drive was huge, right, he
[2:48] Speaker 2: had two third downs third and fifteen when he scrambled
[2:51] Speaker 2: to his right. They need to get him on the
[2:53] Speaker 2: move more often, I think sometimes same. They've really tried
[2:56] Speaker 2: to push the ball down the field. And even today
[2:58] Speaker 2: some of his a lot of his incompletion, because his
[3:00] Speaker 2: numbers look good, are on the deep ball. He was
[3:03] Speaker 2: not skipping balls like he did whatever a Thursday a
[3:06] Speaker 2: week ago. It was that deep ball. He's still overthrowing it,
[3:09] Speaker 2: but he was. He's good on the move. And then
[3:11] Speaker 2: the third and five that Sutton made the play, and
[3:14] Speaker 2: then that second and eight which essentially sealed the game.
[3:17] Speaker 2: So three enormous passes. I actually thought when Kelsey scored, say,
[3:21] Speaker 2: I mean Travis Kelsey and Chris Jones. I mean you
[3:24] Speaker 2: talk about these guys, I mean you knew they would
[3:27] Speaker 2: bring it. They both of them dominated today. I thought
[3:30] Speaker 2: that that second time, that when mems on the when
[3:33] Speaker 2: returned that punt and they were in the red zone
[3:35] Speaker 2: and they didn't come out of with touchdown, like I
[3:37] Speaker 2: think they're gonna look back and God, they're gonna be
[3:39] Speaker 2: kicking themselves on that one. And he just he found
[3:44] Speaker 2: a way. I mean their defense is fan both these defense,
[3:46] Speaker 2: I mean these are how about that could be the
[3:48] Speaker 2: AFC Championship game right there.
[3:49] Speaker 1: John, how about the late window Cleveland's defense, Ram Seattle, Denver,
[3:54] Speaker 1: Kansas City And Robert sala is doing an unfricking believable
[3:59] Speaker 1: job with nobody he's gotten. You know, Winter's a good
[4:03] Speaker 1: player that kids everywhere. But no, I kind of look
[4:07] Speaker 1: at this game and I think the Chiefs were eleven
[4:10] Speaker 1: and oh or twelve and oh last year and one
[4:11] Speaker 1: possession games and their own five. And my takeaway on
[4:14] Speaker 1: that isn't that they were eleven and oh, not just that,
[4:17] Speaker 1: but why are they in so many close games. And
[4:20] Speaker 1: I think you see this with Buffalo. You start paying
[4:22] Speaker 1: these quarterbacks four hundred million dollars and John, you look
[4:25] Speaker 1: at Buffalo's defense, it's really okay, it's just okay. It's
[4:30] Speaker 1: got a couple splash players. You look at Kansas City,
[4:33] Speaker 1: you know they don't have much of a run game.
[4:36] Speaker 1: Kelsey again rises to the moment. Chris Jones has not
[4:40] Speaker 1: had a good year. He had a good day today.
[4:42] Speaker 1: But I think it's the reality is when you know,
[4:44] Speaker 1: when you start looking at roster Seattle where they're paying
[4:48] Speaker 1: Sam very very workable. Wait, Indianapolis, Daniel Jones, it looks
[4:53] Speaker 1: it's unbelievable roster. So you know some of it with
[4:57] Speaker 1: Kansas City is this is the reality. Remember and Drew
[5:00] Speaker 1: Brees was in New Orleans. He took a big salary
[5:02] Speaker 1: and they dipped for two years and then he took
[5:04] Speaker 1: a team friendly deal at the end and they have
[5:07] Speaker 1: great rosters. With Sean Payton, how much credit do you give?
[5:11] Speaker 1: You know, Sean Payton's funny. I think he's the best
[5:13] Speaker 1: coach in football. Nobody wants to admit it's a great
[5:15] Speaker 1: coach because he's a little he can be a little
[5:17] Speaker 1: bit of a smart ass. But John, they're still paying
[5:21] Speaker 1: Russell Wilson and this roster is stacked.
[5:25] Speaker 2: Where I give them a lot of credit is remember
[5:27] Speaker 2: when they gave they had that game his first year
[5:30] Speaker 2: where they played Miami and gave up seventy points and
[5:33] Speaker 2: there was so much momentum, and you went, this Vance
[5:35] Speaker 2: Joseph thing is just not going to work. And you
[5:37] Speaker 2: look back a couple of years later, they have a
[5:40] Speaker 2: potential all time defense. I mean, they might break the
[5:42] Speaker 2: sacks record. The blitz he called. You just talked about
[5:46] Speaker 2: defensive coordinators. I mean the amount if you combine the
[5:48] Speaker 2: salaries of the defensive coordinators in the late window, I
[5:50] Speaker 2: mean's a lot of money the guys are getting paid.
[5:53] Speaker 2: That blitz that he called did sack Patrick Mahomes, I
[5:55] Speaker 2: mean that was that was big times. Sometimes you got
[5:59] Speaker 2: to mix it up again. It's an all time great
[6:00] Speaker 2: player and kind of confuse him. I mean, you're playing
[6:03] Speaker 2: I mean the coaching quarterback combination one of, if not
[6:07] Speaker 2: the greatest combination of all time. So Vance Joseph, to
[6:10] Speaker 2: me deserves They played the Chiefs really well now two
[6:12] Speaker 2: years in a row, and they're missing their best defensive players.
[6:16] Speaker 2: So obviously you know Sean and you know he's he's
[6:21] Speaker 2: been very i would say consistent on boon Nicks. He's
[6:24] Speaker 2: kept his mouth shut when he's really struggled because he
[6:26] Speaker 2: doesn't want this guy to go into the tank. And
[6:28] Speaker 2: they I think the team is just kind of, you know,
[6:31] Speaker 2: stood by his back because whatever. That Thursday night game
[6:34] Speaker 2: was pretty ugly. I mean, that was that was as
[6:36] Speaker 2: bad as it got. And today you get a little
[6:39] Speaker 2: extra time. I think Romo mentioned it that they spend
[6:43] Speaker 2: a lot of time just kind of getting back to
[6:44] Speaker 2: the basics, like getting in and out of the huddle. Yea,
[6:46] Speaker 2: you know, I think sometimes you think it's like you
[6:48] Speaker 2: get rushed. It's like getting in out of the huddle.
[6:50] Speaker 2: Bo Nicks was saying, coach, you're getting me the plays
[6:52] Speaker 2: too late. And they worked on like stuff that you
[6:55] Speaker 2: don't even think. But that's sometimes you've got to take
[6:57] Speaker 2: a step back before you worry about like what's up
[6:59] Speaker 2: with his accurate See, well, if he's all rattled and
[7:01] Speaker 2: all this other shit, then you're already screwed before you
[7:04] Speaker 2: even started.
[7:04] Speaker 1: That's what we saw with Kayleb Williams in the first
[7:06] Speaker 1: three weeks. His operational stuff was a mess. Now he's
[7:10] Speaker 1: still not pretty, but that's not the problem. He may struggle,
[7:14] Speaker 1: but the operational stuff. I do think with bow Nicks,
[7:17] Speaker 1: he's a really tightly wound guy. He's very intense, and
[7:22] Speaker 1: so I think Sean was adding to that anxiety by
[7:25] Speaker 1: getting it in late. And you and I had talked
[7:27] Speaker 1: about this the last couple of weeks. He played nervous,
[7:29] Speaker 1: and I think now we look at it and we're like, oh,
[7:31] Speaker 1: that's why. Like he's a tightly wound guy. He's incredibly
[7:36] Speaker 1: hard on himself. I talked to somebody who knew him
[7:39] Speaker 1: before the season. They're like, that kid is hard on himself,
[7:42] Speaker 1: like a little like Lamar Jackson. Just doesn't savor wins
[7:45] Speaker 1: like losses are crushing. And so then Shawn's getting the
[7:49] Speaker 1: plays in late. Sean's demanding so early in the season.
[7:52] Speaker 1: And Shawn's never been a great September coach anyway, because
[7:55] Speaker 1: he just unloads the playbook on him. But I thought today,
[7:58] Speaker 1: bo less frenetic. I thought that final drive was like,
[8:02] Speaker 1: I mean, John, that was a little Jaden Daniels of
[8:05] Speaker 1: last year. You're like, Wow, that's a that's a Pro
[8:07] Speaker 1: Bowl level drive. Like two big throws and they just
[8:10] Speaker 1: the way Sean and Bo milked the clock. I mean
[8:14] Speaker 1: that that. I mean even when Romo and Nance said
[8:18] Speaker 1: at the end, they're like, hey, if the Chiefs don't
[8:20] Speaker 1: make a tackle here, get down at the one, and
[8:23] Speaker 1: they didn't. Peyton and Bo had thought it out. They
[8:26] Speaker 1: just took a knee. They were not gonna let Kansas
[8:28] Speaker 1: City control it. They took a knee.
[8:31] Speaker 2: And you know, I.
[8:33] Speaker 1: Don't think I don't think Kansas City's a bad team.
[8:35] Speaker 1: I just think the margins get really skinny when you
[8:38] Speaker 1: pay Kelsey Jones Mahomes. I mean, the hell they had
[8:42] Speaker 1: to get rid of Joe Toney, you know, just this
[8:44] Speaker 1: is the reality of having a four hundred million dollars quarterback.
[8:47] Speaker 2: The other thing is this when you go to five
[8:49] Speaker 2: Super Bowls in six years, and I think the year
[8:51] Speaker 2: you missed it, you lost in the AFC Championship Game.
[8:54] Speaker 2: Where are you drafting every round? You know, twenty nine, thirty,
[8:57] Speaker 2: thirty one, thirty two. And that's not just the first
[9:00] Speaker 2: We're talking the third and the fourth round. So your margin, Ferrera,
[9:04] Speaker 2: You're not getting the pick of the litter each round, right,
[9:07] Speaker 2: This isn't like the second round you get to pick
[9:09] Speaker 2: the four best players that are still on the board
[9:11] Speaker 2: in the thirties or early forties. You're picking at the
[9:13] Speaker 2: end at sixty. So the pressure on Beach in the
[9:16] Speaker 2: scouting staff is really really high, and I think that's
[9:20] Speaker 2: why they were kind of hesitant to make a bold
[9:22] Speaker 2: trade because you need the picks, and especially, like, let's
[9:26] Speaker 2: face it, Kelsey and Chris Jones are coming down the
[9:28] Speaker 2: home stretch here, right, so these guys, they're no longer
[9:32] Speaker 2: seventeen game elite guy. They give you, however, many games
[9:35] Speaker 2: during the regular season, hopefully the playoff games, but like
[9:38] Speaker 2: you are gonna need to make some hay in the draft.
[9:41] Speaker 2: But even this year, let's say they end up going
[9:43] Speaker 2: ten and seven because they got some winnable games on
[9:45] Speaker 2: their schedule. Let's just say this the year they get
[9:46] Speaker 2: bounced in the first round, they're still it's not like
[9:48] Speaker 2: they're drafted seven. They're still drafted twenty first, so they
[9:52] Speaker 2: are just you know, sometimes, you know, the Ravens have
[9:54] Speaker 2: had a good little stretch here of the Starks and
[9:56] Speaker 2: the Wiggins, and they've hit it like there's a little
[9:59] Speaker 2: dumb luck to that because a lot it's out of
[10:01] Speaker 2: your control, right, the guy you want you see this
[10:04] Speaker 2: year with Johad Campbell being there for Howie, some years
[10:07] Speaker 2: that guy goes pick sixteen and you're just like, we
[10:09] Speaker 2: don't really like any of these picks. It's why historically
[10:12] Speaker 2: you get a lot of the good teams. John Schneyder Belichick,
[10:14] Speaker 2: they would go back, yes, because like, we just don't
[10:17] Speaker 2: feel comfortable here. And it just it's very draft dependent.
[10:20] Speaker 2: I watched a lot of college football. I'm like, I
[10:22] Speaker 2: don't know how many blue Chippers are in this upcoming draft.
[10:25] Speaker 2: Definitely not when the you know a lot of these
[10:26] Speaker 2: teams in the twenties are gonna be draft. So it
[10:28] Speaker 2: just puts a lot of pressure and the Chiefs put
[10:31] Speaker 2: them I think coach Reid and Patrick will be the first.
[10:33] Speaker 2: They put themselves into a hole. You start zero and two,
[10:36] Speaker 2: you lose that crazy Jags game. You shouldn't be like
[10:39] Speaker 2: on tilt in the middle of November on the road
[10:41] Speaker 2: at an eight and two team, Well, right, that the
[10:44] Speaker 2: season shouldn't and it's the season technically not on the line,
[10:47] Speaker 2: but the division streaks over tonight, the Broncos essentially won
[10:50] Speaker 2: the division in icon. They malade the Commanders next and
[10:53] Speaker 2: then the Raiders.
[10:54] Speaker 1: Yeah, so I had picked Denver to win this division.
[10:56] Speaker 1: I picked Kansas City had finished second, Chargers third, and
[10:59] Speaker 1: Raiders four. So I've had a good year on picks
[11:01] Speaker 1: and pretty good year. I picked New England to be
[11:03] Speaker 1: my shocking team and Seattle to make the playoffs. It's
[11:06] Speaker 1: been a good football and pro football year for me.
[11:09] Speaker 1: But one of the things I had I really believe
[11:13] Speaker 1: about Kansas City is that when you look at the Chiefs,
[11:21] Speaker 1: a lot of the reality of playing these big, intense
[11:26] Speaker 1: seasons is there's a fatigue. It's more hits you end
[11:33] Speaker 1: up having. I mean, I guess just kind of the
[11:36] Speaker 1: way I look at Kansas City's run is like how
[11:39] Speaker 1: I looked at New England is that before the season,
[11:44] Speaker 1: I said the dynasty's over, and I said they'll make
[11:47] Speaker 1: the playoffs. They'll probably win another Super Bowl or two,
[11:50] Speaker 1: but you just can't keep doing it. The eye test
[11:55] Speaker 1: tells you that defense two years ago was faster than now,
[11:57] Speaker 1: and Chris Jones was more dominating. When you take Chris
[12:00] Speaker 1: Jones out of his prime and like Kelsey, Wh'll give
[12:04] Speaker 1: you great games, but not a great season, that defense
[12:08] Speaker 1: isn't the same John. It's like, it's like the Rams
[12:12] Speaker 1: got lucky when Donald left or when Aaron Donald left,
[12:15] Speaker 1: because they had drafted and hit on like five different
[12:18] Speaker 1: defensive players in the box. So the defense about a
[12:21] Speaker 1: year after he left are like, oh hell, it's still nasty.
[12:24] Speaker 1: But they hit on five defensive picks. Five of them
[12:27] Speaker 1: were all even the third round. Kobe Turner was good.
[12:31] Speaker 1: But when Chris Jones the last two years, especially this year,
[12:33] Speaker 1: isn't as dominant. The rest of the players are good players,
[12:37] Speaker 1: and so they had to let go of Snead at
[12:39] Speaker 1: corner and they have a couple guys get dinged up.
[12:42] Speaker 1: And when I watch them play today, it's still well coached.
[12:44] Speaker 1: That's still good. But Seattle's defense or the Rams defense today,
[12:49] Speaker 1: just turn the sound down. The Rams defense is just
[12:52] Speaker 1: there's nothing open anywhere. There's stuff open today that bo
[12:57] Speaker 1: Nicks and Peyton took advantage of.
[13:00] Speaker 2: I mean, part of it is in Belichick and Brady.
[13:02] Speaker 2: You know, in the middle of I guess the late
[13:05] Speaker 2: two thousands, early twenty tens, you gotta start hitting on
[13:08] Speaker 2: some the new group of guys. Right, they got high Tower,
[13:11] Speaker 2: they got mccordy, right, they got all these other players
[13:14] Speaker 2: to come in. Obviously, Edelman became a consistent loot. They
[13:17] Speaker 2: hit on Gronk in the second round. The Chiefs are
[13:19] Speaker 2: gonna have to do that over the next couple of years,
[13:20] Speaker 2: and they kind of already have. You know, she Rice
[13:22] Speaker 2: a high end player. Say if you're worthy, they're gonna
[13:25] Speaker 2: need more out of him. They got McDuffie and Karl
[13:27] Speaker 2: Loftis on defense. You need to hit on a couple
[13:30] Speaker 2: more guys. But listen, I think they've proven they know
[13:33] Speaker 2: what they're doing. This is just not the Belichick and
[13:35] Speaker 2: Brady had some years where they lost in the first round.
[13:37] Speaker 2: I remember the Rex Ryan beat him, the Ravens beat him,
[13:39] Speaker 2: Peyton got him a couple of times. Like you're not
[13:41] Speaker 2: gonna go to the super Bowl five and six years.
[13:44] Speaker 2: I'd be stunned if that ever happens again. I'm not
[13:47] Speaker 2: with the parody the way the league's built. But the
[13:49] Speaker 2: Broncos they're gonna be in a position, you know now,
[13:52] Speaker 2: they're in the driver's seat to get the number one seed,
[13:55] Speaker 2: right because the Colts, I mean, are they just gonna
[13:57] Speaker 2: keep rattling off wins? I think the Broncos, you look
[14:00] Speaker 2: at their schedule, it's pretty easy I do believe if
[14:04] Speaker 2: they could get home field advantage, that's gonna be a
[14:06] Speaker 2: very very tough place to win, you know, for opposing
[14:08] Speaker 2: teams to come in with that defense, and they just
[14:10] Speaker 2: need bo Nicks to play like today, no turnovers. We
[14:13] Speaker 2: don't need three four touchdowns a game. You go back
[14:16] Speaker 2: to some of the defenses that you know, people like
[14:20] Speaker 2: in the eighties and the nineties, in the early two thousands,
[14:23] Speaker 2: we don't need three touchdowns, Like, just do not turn
[14:25] Speaker 2: the ball over. Maybe throw one, we'll rush for one,
[14:27] Speaker 2: and we will win this thing. Seventeen to thirteen, no problem.
[14:30] Speaker 1: Don't forget Denver at home in January, it will be snowing,
[14:35] Speaker 1: so that defense will be even nastier because it's going
[14:38] Speaker 1: to be windy at high altitude in snowing. All right,
[14:41] Speaker 1: Seattle loses to the Rams. Rams twenty one Seahawks nineteen.
[14:47] Speaker 1: Pretty remarkable that with four Sam Darnold interceptions Seattle, which
[14:52] Speaker 1: I again I think their rosters, I think defensively, they
[14:56] Speaker 1: got so many dudes. First of all, these these two defenses,
[14:59] Speaker 1: there's just nothing I felt bad for Sam Darnald. There's
[15:01] Speaker 1: just if a ball gets tipped in the err, it's picked.
[15:04] Speaker 1: There's just this very little I mean, thank God for JS,
[15:07] Speaker 1: and it's just hard to have plays. It's hard to
[15:10] Speaker 1: have successive plays against the Rams defense. That hit You
[15:13] Speaker 1: can hit one and then it's backwards. So but I
[15:17] Speaker 1: was thinking about this because the Rams jump out to
[15:20] Speaker 1: it very quickly. That's very impressive, and then they have
[15:23] Speaker 1: to hold on. But I was, you know, they Here's
[15:27] Speaker 1: the thing that jumped out me. The Rams defense in
[15:29] Speaker 1: the red zone. Number one, if you didn't watch the game,
[15:32] Speaker 1: the Rams defense in the red zone kept forcing Seattle
[15:36] Speaker 1: into field goals. So that was the early portion of
[15:40] Speaker 1: the game. The second portion was they kept intercepting Sam Donald.
[15:43] Speaker 1: But this struck me during the game. If Stafford would
[15:46] Speaker 1: have thrown four picks, Seattle would have blown the Rams out,
[15:49] Speaker 1: would have blown their doors off. How can Seattle stay
[15:52] Speaker 1: with them? And my takeaway is this, Matt Stafford, John
[15:56] Speaker 1: is play call reliant. He is as good as they call,
[16:01] Speaker 1: right Sam's not. If the play breaks down, Sam can
[16:06] Speaker 1: create a second play, sometimes a third with his legs.
[16:09] Speaker 1: The weakness with the Rams because there is no weakness defensively.
[16:12] Speaker 1: Their corners aren't great. But Forbes, now, Emmanuel Forbes in
[16:16] Speaker 1: is playing really well. He's a nice corner, probably a
[16:18] Speaker 1: number two corner, but he's a good corner. Their safeties
[16:21] Speaker 1: are good, they're pass rush. Stafford's not giving you anything
[16:25] Speaker 1: off the play call. Now, he can get in and
[16:27] Speaker 1: out of stuff pre snap, but if the play breaks
[16:30] Speaker 1: down or it's just stuffed, the play's over. I feel
[16:33] Speaker 1: like with Darnald. I mean, when Matt Stafford is reckless
[16:37] Speaker 1: and has a bad day, Rams get hammered, but Seattle
[16:41] Speaker 1: doesn't because you know, they dominate time of possession. Got
[16:44] Speaker 1: in the second and third quarter. Seattle had the ball
[16:46] Speaker 1: for twenty minutes, the Rams had it for three. I
[16:48] Speaker 1: mean again, there is such a value to having an
[16:52] Speaker 1: athletic cornerback that can just create a second play if
[16:57] Speaker 1: the first play gets snuffed. That's my thing. I love Stafford,
[17:02] Speaker 1: but with him and Goff, you do not get a
[17:05] Speaker 1: second play within a play call. The play call is
[17:08] Speaker 1: what the play call is. And I thought it was
[17:11] Speaker 1: remarkable that Seattle was kicking a game winning field goal.
[17:14] Speaker 1: I thought it was.
[17:15] Speaker 2: Unbelievable if they would have If Seattle wins this game,
[17:21] Speaker 2: I don't think Sean McVay could have slept all week.
[17:24] Speaker 2: You can't pick a guy off four times and lose
[17:27] Speaker 2: that game. I mean, there at one point in time,
[17:29] Speaker 2: it felt like the Ram for in complete control, and
[17:31] Speaker 2: I looked down and Matt Stafford had thrown for like
[17:33] Speaker 2: sixty yards. I'm like, something, this feels weird. He ended
[17:36] Speaker 2: up only throwing for one hundred and thirty yards. Sam
[17:38] Speaker 2: Donald threw for almost three hundred yards. I mean he
[17:40] Speaker 2: threw for two hundred and eighty yards. Mac Jones is
[17:42] Speaker 2: thrown for six hundred and fifty yards combined against the Rams,
[17:45] Speaker 2: which is ironic because you can throw on him, but
[17:49] Speaker 2: their defensive coordinator, I think we have to have some
[17:52] Speaker 2: ownage over Sam Donald because some of those picks aren't
[17:55] Speaker 2: tip balls. They're hitting guys in the numbers. So he
[17:59] Speaker 2: rattled them in the playoff game when they had to
[18:01] Speaker 2: play it in Glendale because the Fires, and then he
[18:03] Speaker 2: rattled them again today really bad. It was the first time.
[18:06] Speaker 2: Like he's still making some explosive plays, the one play
[18:08] Speaker 2: the jaysnkle with one hand, and obviously the running backs
[18:12] Speaker 2: make some big plays, but like if you're gonna I mean,
[18:14] Speaker 2: he did not have a touchdown today, and he threw
[18:16] Speaker 2: four interceptions and I mean, I three, off the top
[18:18] Speaker 2: of my head are hitting guys in stride. The one
[18:20] Speaker 2: where he did like the t bow jump up and
[18:23] Speaker 2: he just hit the guy. It's like that, can't that
[18:25] Speaker 2: looked a little Jets Carolina Panthers. Yeah, I think Chris Sula,
[18:29] Speaker 2: who is Sean mcvay's handpick guy, their buddies from college,
[18:33] Speaker 2: has just come. It's like a matchup thing. See this
[18:36] Speaker 2: in basketball. You see sometimes in baseball with a pitcher
[18:38] Speaker 2: versus hitter Chris Sula against Sam Darnold. Because it's not
[18:42] Speaker 2: even a koobiak thing. Because they had a different offensive
[18:44] Speaker 2: coordinator last year in the playoffs was Ryan Grubb. It's
[18:47] Speaker 2: something he's doing to Sam is throwing them off with
[18:50] Speaker 2: some of these looks because they do not have Jalen
[18:52] Speaker 2: Ramsey and some of these guys back there in the
[18:54] Speaker 2: defensive backfield, these are not like their strength is the
[18:57] Speaker 2: pass rush, not the corners. Even though the guy they
[19:00] Speaker 2: just traded for did make a great play that would
[19:03] Speaker 2: have been a Sam Donald maybe underthrew him by what
[19:05] Speaker 2: he yes, eight inches and the guy made a great
[19:08] Speaker 2: play with his fingertips. They probably saved the game because
[19:11] Speaker 2: he completes that that might have been the game.
[19:13] Speaker 1: Sam's owned three against the Rams the last two years,
[19:16] Speaker 1: twenty one to four against everybody else, So there is
[19:20] Speaker 1: no question the Rams have his number. And what I
[19:23] Speaker 1: wrote down today twice that Sam saw the receiver late,
[19:29] Speaker 1: his throat was late. And Sam's never had the cleanest mechanics.
[19:33] Speaker 1: He's got a little bit of a little bit of
[19:36] Speaker 1: a hitch. They it's faster than yeah, yeah, yeah, it's
[19:39] Speaker 1: faster than it was four years ago. But Sam has
[19:42] Speaker 1: to see stuff clearly and quickly because he doesn't snap
[19:46] Speaker 1: the ball out like like an Aeron or even Jordan
[19:49] Speaker 1: Love just whips that thing out.
[19:51] Speaker 2: Man.
[19:51] Speaker 1: That touts down to Christian Watson, he got a bad snap,
[19:54] Speaker 1: he saw it, let it go. It was in the
[19:55] Speaker 1: air a quarter second later. That's not Sam. And two
[19:59] Speaker 1: of the inner Sam saw the play way late, like
[20:04] Speaker 1: it wasn't even close. You know, you'd have thought he'd
[20:06] Speaker 1: been throwing to a Ram, not a Seahawk. So I
[20:09] Speaker 1: think that's the reality is that this right now. I
[20:13] Speaker 1: think Seattle has better speed. I think Seattle's rosters actually
[20:18] Speaker 1: more complete. Like the Rams have a little bit of
[20:21] Speaker 1: a secondary concern. They didn't draft a corner last year,
[20:23] Speaker 1: you and I have discussed this. Probably needed to They
[20:26] Speaker 1: went and got Emmanuel Forbes a longer corner. I thought
[20:29] Speaker 1: he's been pretty good for them. But and we talked
[20:33] Speaker 1: about this, John, I think the last two weeks, the
[20:36] Speaker 1: Rams are the cleanest team in the league. They're not
[20:39] Speaker 1: the most dynamic. They don't have penalties, they don't turn
[20:43] Speaker 1: the ball over, they don't throw interceptions. They're just clean
[20:48] Speaker 1: and in the end, that wins a lot of these games.
[20:53] Speaker 2: Well, like you said about Donald, I think I did
[20:55] Speaker 2: the math. So if you count today, he's twenty one
[20:57] Speaker 2: and six starting last year, So I mean he's been
[21:00] Speaker 2: a great player, but three of those losses to the Rams,
[21:03] Speaker 2: and if you count the playoff game and today he
[21:07] Speaker 2: has five five interceptions, and he was not good in
[21:10] Speaker 2: the playoff game either, because I'm with you, I feel
[21:12] Speaker 2: like they're throwing them off, which then speeds them up,
[21:16] Speaker 2: which gets them all out of rhythm. Because now the
[21:20] Speaker 2: three games in which he's had of those twenty one wins,
[21:23] Speaker 2: he has been an MVP caliber player. Yet if you
[21:26] Speaker 2: take the Lions game and these last two Rams game,
[21:29] Speaker 2: he looks like a rattle player. So it's it's like clearly,
[21:34] Speaker 2: and some of those wins are against really good teams,
[21:36] Speaker 2: so it's not like he's just beating up on you know,
[21:38] Speaker 2: Kentucky's of the world, right, He's doing it against real competition.
[21:42] Speaker 2: So whatever Shula has put out there now and Aaron Glenn,
[21:46] Speaker 2: I do wonder if more people are gonna attempt to
[21:48] Speaker 2: just copycat that. Yes, but it's just it's weird because
[21:52] Speaker 2: I was all in the way he was playing that
[21:54] Speaker 2: I watched today. I'm like, clearly, you can do something
[21:57] Speaker 2: to throw him off, and you know he's It's one
[22:00] Speaker 2: thing if you just you know, you have bad footwork
[22:02] Speaker 2: and you overthrow a guy. It's another thing to hit
[22:05] Speaker 2: multiple dbs in their numbers. That to me is a really,
[22:07] Speaker 2: really alarming sign. And I thought he had gotten past
[22:11] Speaker 2: it the way he was playing this year. I'm like,
[22:13] Speaker 2: whatever that confidence is, and then you see a moment
[22:15] Speaker 2: like today and you're like, God, I'll pick at Seattle
[22:18] Speaker 2: to make the Super Bowl, and that kind's gonna give
[22:20] Speaker 2: me some pause because there's gonna be a lot of
[22:22] Speaker 2: pressure on this guy in the playoffs again, right and
[22:24] Speaker 2: down the stretch. He still got some big games left.
[22:26] Speaker 1: Yeah, I've said this about Caleb Williams and Bone Nicks.
[22:30] Speaker 1: They don't get hurt, they don't throw picks. There is
[22:32] Speaker 1: some value in that, all right. Today's show is brought

[23:53] Speaker 1: brought to you by McDonald's New Buffalo Ranch Sauce, is
[23:56] Speaker 1: Josh Allen. Best football player in the world, second time
[23:59] Speaker 1: in his career. Three passing touchdowns, three rushing touchdowns in
[24:03] Speaker 1: one game. It's like that junior high football player that's
[24:06] Speaker 1: got a mustache and nobody else does right. No other
[24:09] Speaker 1: player has ever done it once, So Josh's performance was satisfying,
[24:13] Speaker 1: just like the first bite of the bak and creamy
[24:15] Speaker 1: Buffalo mccrispy. Oh was good. Let's go to Chicago nineteen
[24:25] Speaker 1: Minnesota Viking seventeen Santo's with the walk off. I did
[24:29] Speaker 1: think Chicago. First of all, Chicago was better on third down,
[24:33] Speaker 1: much better. They dominated time of possession. Caleb had no picks.
[24:39] Speaker 2: I thought Chicago.
[24:42] Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I thought Chicago was the better team. This
[24:43] Speaker 1: is not one of these in which they were lucky.
[24:46] Speaker 1: I thought Chicago was the better team. Now, JJ McCarthy
[24:50] Speaker 1: had a couple of drops by Jordan Addison, one early
[24:52] Speaker 1: one late, So it's not all on JJ McCarthy. So
[24:55] Speaker 1: let's just look at the Bears though. So last year
[24:57] Speaker 1: they couldn't win games like this, and this is sort
[24:59] Speaker 1: of the magic of Ben Johnson and Caleb. It's not pretty.
[25:02] Speaker 1: They have a win against the Raiders due to a
[25:05] Speaker 1: block field goal. They beat Washington when Jaden Daniels fumbled
[25:10] Speaker 1: late in the game. Remember nobody touches to be just fumbled.
[25:13] Speaker 1: They had a fifty eight yard TD against the Bengals
[25:15] Speaker 1: after a near collapse. They trailed double digits in the
[25:18] Speaker 1: fourth quarter of the Giants and one and a game
[25:21] Speaker 1: winning field goal as time expires. Today against the Vikings.
[25:24] Speaker 1: Now you could say it's just luck, you know. I
[25:26] Speaker 1: think Caleb Williams legs aren't luck he again today he
[25:31] Speaker 1: made two or three. I mean, listen, it's it's a cliche.
[25:34] Speaker 1: Nobody doubts how dynamic he is. Guy's a freakin' He's
[25:38] Speaker 1: a cleanup hitter. I mean, just the legs, the power.
[25:41] Speaker 1: He had a couple throws today. I mean, he's just
[25:44] Speaker 1: when he unleashes it, man, it.
[25:46] Speaker 2: Is I wasn't one to DJ Moore. Did DJ drop?
[25:49] Speaker 2: I think it got on DJ so fast that you know,
[25:52] Speaker 2: I think he was trying to catch it, but it
[25:54] Speaker 2: hit his chest play before his hands could even get there.
[25:57] Speaker 2: That had to be a one hundred and ten mile on
[25:58] Speaker 2: hour fastball. That had to be the hart Is ball today, throat,
[26:01] Speaker 2: I think in the NFL.
[26:02] Speaker 1: But I think we have to be honest about this.
[26:06] Speaker 1: JJ McCarthy had one really good drive at the end
[26:09] Speaker 1: and he deserves credit for it. But John, this is
[26:11] Speaker 1: not a highlight league. This is not the NBA. It
[26:14] Speaker 1: is about sustained drives. It is about putting your team
[26:18] Speaker 1: in situations to win. I got to tell you, I
[26:22] Speaker 1: don't know what it is, but when you have Kevin O'Connell,
[26:25] Speaker 1: good protection, decent run game, justin Jefferson, Jordan Adison didn't
[26:30] Speaker 1: he had drops. I don't see it with JJ McCarthy,
[26:34] Speaker 1: and I don't want to do confirmation bias. He hasn't
[26:36] Speaker 1: had many starts. His arm is good enough. It's not
[26:38] Speaker 1: an arm thing. He has a decent arm, but he
[26:42] Speaker 1: looks nervous. He's a player that plays I think with
[26:46] Speaker 1: confidence and when he loses it after a second pick.
[26:49] Speaker 1: He had a couple of really bad drives. So he's
[26:51] Speaker 1: obviously somebody who's a bit in his head on this stuff.
[26:54] Speaker 1: Don't blame him, it happens. He's young, but it's it's
[26:57] Speaker 1: hard for me to unsee it. Like when Kayla he
[27:00] Speaker 1: was struggling last year. He wasn't throwing picks. He was
[27:03] Speaker 1: making plays with his feet. You could not deny his athleticism.
[27:07] Speaker 1: Even Greg Cosell kept saying, you know, the tape will
[27:09] Speaker 1: tell you he makes incredible throws. This JJ McCarthy thing
[27:14] Speaker 1: about four more of these and they got a problem
[27:17] Speaker 1: on their hands.
[27:18] Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I think they have JJ beside. The
[27:20] Speaker 2: one drive at the end was atrocious. I mean he's
[27:22] Speaker 2: a complete train wreck. I mean balls are flying all
[27:24] Speaker 2: over the mat. I mean, he just not even close,
[27:28] Speaker 2: and I think Tom was in a tough position being
[27:30] Speaker 2: a Michigan man trying to not totally crush the kid.
[27:33] Speaker 2: But even Tom's like, I got no clue. There was
[27:35] Speaker 2: a stretch where they did some replays and something I
[27:37] Speaker 2: don't even know where he's throwing. I do want to
[27:40] Speaker 2: say this though, that if you just take the two coaches,
[27:44] Speaker 2: you know, if we just did a draft from scratch,
[27:47] Speaker 2: they would be two of the highest guys in the league,
[27:49] Speaker 2: right Ben Johnson Kevin O'Connell. I actually think they're the
[27:52] Speaker 2: polar opposite though, being offensive guys and both former quarterbacks.
[27:55] Speaker 2: Now O'Connell got drafted Ben Johnson think was a backup
[27:58] Speaker 2: in North Carolina. Ben's basically Kyle Shanahan two point zero.
[28:02] Speaker 2: He will run it till the cows come home, and
[28:06] Speaker 2: he makes it. It's a lot easier on Caleb to
[28:09] Speaker 2: be in situations where I'm not putting it all on
[28:11] Speaker 2: your shoulder, because I think Caleb, when he plays like that,
[28:14] Speaker 2: can get a little reckless and start running around. And
[28:16] Speaker 2: because he naturally plays like that anyway, which he's incredible
[28:20] Speaker 2: of breaking out of sacks. I mean his ability, he's
[28:23] Speaker 2: like unsackable. You have to get multiple guys on him
[28:25] Speaker 2: because he's breaking through. But Ben Johnson day, the majority
[28:29] Speaker 2: of this game was just one score game. This wasn't
[28:33] Speaker 2: like one team's up twenty four to three. Kevin O'Connell
[28:37] Speaker 2: just insists, and I said this last year was Sam
[28:38] Speaker 2: Donald when everyone just took a giant, you know, kind
[28:42] Speaker 2: of dump on Sam Donald's career. It's like he didn't
[28:44] Speaker 2: get any help in that playoff game for his coach, like,
[28:47] Speaker 2: have some runs, settle the game down. Ben Johnson wants
[28:50] Speaker 2: to run it basically, just three times, get a first down,
[28:53] Speaker 2: run it again. Kevin O'Connell's calling these deep breaking routes.
[28:56] Speaker 2: It's like, Bro, this is not Sam Donald during the
[28:58] Speaker 2: regular season. It's definitely not her cousins. This guy has
[29:01] Speaker 2: no clue where the ball is coming out of his hands.
[29:03] Speaker 2: He throw a pick in the corner of the end
[29:04] Speaker 2: zone on a go route. I don't know why you're
[29:07] Speaker 2: calling go routes for this guy. He's overthrowing guys. If
[29:11] Speaker 2: you're gonna throw some quick stuff, okay, some quick outs
[29:14] Speaker 2: somewhat easy, even though he was missing those two. But
[29:17] Speaker 2: there was one point in time during the first half
[29:19] Speaker 2: that they were averaging almost five yards of carry and
[29:22] Speaker 2: the Bears had like double the amount of carries. If
[29:25] Speaker 2: it was flip flopped Jordan Mason Aaron Jones, they would
[29:28] Speaker 2: have they would have easily both got double the amount
[29:32] Speaker 2: of touches they got. But he insists, and I get it,
[29:34] Speaker 2: he's got these two awesome wide receivers, but that's how
[29:37] Speaker 2: he wants to coach. He wants to throw the ball
[29:39] Speaker 2: vertically down the field, and that is not what this
[29:42] Speaker 2: guy is capable of doing right now, right you know, listen,
[29:46] Speaker 2: Caleb Williams is much better player than JJ, and he
[29:49] Speaker 2: would be quote unquote more capable to do that. But
[29:52] Speaker 2: Ben Johnson and they got wide receivers too, but he's
[29:55] Speaker 2: not gonna play like that. And you got a coach,
[29:57] Speaker 2: and I saw on social media it's like, well, you
[29:59] Speaker 2: gotta let him sing swim. The goal of today was
[30:01] Speaker 2: trying to win the game, and this was a winnable
[30:03] Speaker 2: game for both teams. And Ben Johnson to me thoroughly
[30:07] Speaker 2: out coach Kevin O'Connell because yes, JJ stinks, but his coach,
[30:11] Speaker 2: like in the middle of the game in a one
[30:12] Speaker 2: score game, can help this guy out. And he's insisting
[30:15] Speaker 2: on pushing the ball down the field and he's blowing
[30:17] Speaker 2: up in his face. Yeah, and I'm not stunned. But
[30:21] Speaker 2: it's like it's a consistent theme now with O'Connell throwing
[30:24] Speaker 2: the ball, you know, with this guy.
[30:25] Speaker 1: And think about this in the fourth quarter at the
[30:29] Speaker 1: end of the game, john when they trailed the Bears
[30:31] Speaker 1: got that huge kickoff return, so JJ McCarthy leads him
[30:34] Speaker 1: to a touchdown. You're like, oh my god, Minnesota's gonna
[30:37] Speaker 1: get out of this thing. Look like crap all day.
[30:39] Speaker 1: They're gonna win this game. Bears get a huge kickoff return,
[30:42] Speaker 1: and did you of course notice what did Ben do?
[30:45] Speaker 1: Three straight run plays. He's like, hey, I'm not gonna
[30:49] Speaker 1: put Caleb. Caleb had a couple of bad sacks earlier
[30:51] Speaker 1: in the game. To your point, Ben's like, we're gonna
[30:54] Speaker 1: run the football, pick off a bouch seven to eight yards.
[30:57] Speaker 1: Sanos is going to come in and get the game
[30:59] Speaker 1: winning field goal. They could have thrown it, they could
[31:01] Speaker 1: have put they didn't. Ben Johnson's to your point, Ben's like,
[31:05] Speaker 1: we're gonna run it, We're gonna keep it. We're not
[31:07] Speaker 1: gonna put any pressure on it. We've outplayed these guys,
[31:10] Speaker 1: we just got the kickoff return, so Ben, and it's
[31:15] Speaker 1: not dismissing Caleb. It's like, I'm not gonna put my
[31:18] Speaker 1: young quarterback on the road against Brian Flores. I'm not
[31:23] Speaker 1: putting him in this spot. And they just ran it.
[31:26] Speaker 1: The kick was good. But that was a situation where
[31:28] Speaker 1: I kept thinking, oh, that's that's kind of conservative. But
[31:30] Speaker 1: then I'm like, no, Sandals is good. That's not gonna
[31:33] Speaker 1: be the issue. I'm looking online. I'm like, no, I
[31:35] Speaker 1: think he'll be fine. He would left earlier this year.
[31:38] Speaker 1: I think Jake Moody came in for a brief time.
[31:40] Speaker 1: Santos is now bad, but he got injured. But I
[31:43] Speaker 1: think to your point, Ben Johnson, I mean, what's the
[31:46] Speaker 1: first thing he did when he got the job. Joe Tooney,
[31:48] Speaker 1: Drew Dolman, Jonah Jackson. It wasn't tackles, it was interior line.
[31:53] Speaker 1: Settle the line, stay off Caleb's feet and run the
[31:56] Speaker 1: ball with swift.
[31:58] Speaker 2: I'm blown away by Ben Jos, just because you never know,
[32:01] Speaker 2: no matter how great a coordinator is, when he becomes
[32:03] Speaker 2: a head coach, we see so many guys fail. He's
[32:07] Speaker 2: been fantastic. I mean, I'm not trying to overreact, but
[32:11] Speaker 2: like philosophically, the way that I personally view football, I'd
[32:14] Speaker 2: rather have Ben Johnson than Kett O'Connell because that translates
[32:17] Speaker 2: what he's doing with this organization that has been losing
[32:21] Speaker 2: for a long time like ugly toxicity. Let's face it,
[32:25] Speaker 2: most people that coach the Vikings have some success. They
[32:28] Speaker 2: are a well run operation with historically a ton of
[32:31] Speaker 2: good players. That's not the case with the Bears. Now
[32:34] Speaker 2: we'll see the Bears. You know, still got to play
[32:35] Speaker 2: the Steelers. They still got to play the Packers. They
[32:37] Speaker 2: got the Lions again. The forty nine er game is
[32:39] Speaker 2: going to be huge for them. There's no guarantee that
[32:41] Speaker 2: they're going to make the playoffs. But Ben Johnson at
[32:45] Speaker 2: seven and three, you know, I know Vrabel and rightfully
[32:48] Speaker 2: so is anointed. I would put him hand in hand
[32:51] Speaker 2: right there as coach of the year. It's been today.
[32:54] Speaker 2: Was awesome to go on the road and to just
[32:56] Speaker 2: calm everyone down by just keep calling run plays. Amazing.
[33:00] Speaker 2: What that does?
[33:01] Speaker 1: I mean? I go back to the first scoring drive
[33:03] Speaker 1: for the Bears was either a fifteen or a sixteen
[33:06] Speaker 1: play drive. Now think about that, you have Dj Moore,
[33:09] Speaker 1: excellent tight ends, Caleb Williams, you have playmakers, and Ben
[33:14] Speaker 1: Johnson's we're going to take the crowd out of the game.
[33:18] Speaker 1: Six yards, four yards, eight yards. Nothing quiets a crowd
[33:23] Speaker 1: like a fifteen play drive on the road. And so
[33:25] Speaker 1: Ben Johnson again long sustain smart. I think Sean Payton
[33:31] Speaker 1: and Ben Johnson maybe my two favorite play callers in
[33:35] Speaker 1: the NFL. They just it's death by a thousand cuts.
[33:39] Speaker 1: It's just smart. Six four I thought Sean Payton's last
[33:42] Speaker 1: drive with bo I thought that sixteen play drives Chicago
[33:45] Speaker 1: on the road. Yeah, I mean it's it's well, there's
[33:48] Speaker 1: no question offensive coaches help you on quarterbacks over defensive coaches.
[33:52] Speaker 1: But even among offensive coaches, there's a strata, there's a
[33:55] Speaker 1: there's a hierarchy.
[33:57] Speaker 2: Really quick, I mean, big picture. With the Viking, we've
[34:01] Speaker 2: seen this a couple of times recently, and Brock Purty
[34:04] Speaker 2: bailed John and Kyle out, and it sure looks like
[34:07] Speaker 2: Daniel Jones bailed Chris and Changstyking out. Who's bailing this
[34:11] Speaker 2: Viking situation out? Because this is that this guy is
[34:15] Speaker 2: and even a diehard, the most you know, bullish guy
[34:19] Speaker 2: on JJ would have to admit, like, yeah, he had
[34:21] Speaker 2: one good drive, but for the majority of these games
[34:24] Speaker 2: he is a troc.
[34:26] Speaker 1: I have nine turnovers in five games. That's that's that's
[34:29] Speaker 1: the number I put down, Like that's you can't have
[34:31] Speaker 1: two turnovers a game. I mean, again, Donald's gonna have
[34:34] Speaker 1: a stinker. But with Darnald, you get big arm, the
[34:38] Speaker 1: huge athletic ability, you have multiple you can as a teammate.
[34:43] Speaker 1: Sam Darnold's gonna get you the ball like he jsn
[34:47] Speaker 1: was the first receiver to one thousand. Justin Jefferson is
[34:50] Speaker 1: not Look at his body language. He had not a
[34:52] Speaker 1: happy camper.
[34:53] Speaker 2: Well, I don't blame him. I mean he's running out
[34:55] Speaker 2: routes wide open and the ball's sailing, hitting the trainer
[34:58] Speaker 2: on the bench. He had a couple out routes that
[35:02] Speaker 2: when that ball left his hands, it's like it's like
[35:05] Speaker 2: when Randy Johnson hit the bird. You know, it's like
[35:08] Speaker 2: I don't even know where that ball's going.
[35:10] Speaker 1: And now for our next segment, Whiskey Business. Yes, Whiskey
[35:13] Speaker 1: Business brought to you by Green River Whiskey, the official
[35:16] Speaker 1: whiskey of the Colin Coward podcast, Buffalo Beats the Buccaneers
[35:21] Speaker 1: forty four to thirty two. Wildly entertaining game. I got
[35:25] Speaker 1: so many notes here, I'll try to keep it simple.
[35:28] Speaker 1: I mean, Josh Allen three passing touchdown, three running touchdowns
[35:32] Speaker 1: despite the interceptions. Josh Allen to me, he's the best
[35:35] Speaker 1: football player in the world. I think he's the best
[35:38] Speaker 1: football player. He made one of the five best football
[35:41] Speaker 1: players I've ever seen. It's just insane. I still don't
[35:44] Speaker 1: love the receiving cord, but it's just amazing how he
[35:47] Speaker 1: can just kind of make everything work. James Cook is
[35:52] Speaker 1: obviously a tremendous player. He had a touchdown out of
[35:56] Speaker 1: the backfield today. I thought Baker played pretty well. Baker
[35:59] Speaker 1: ran a lot today because I think Baker had to.
[36:03] Speaker 1: I don't know Sean Tucker. I mean, god, where do
[36:07] Speaker 1: they find these running backs in Tampahire.
[36:09] Speaker 2: I don't even know who that was. I had to
[36:10] Speaker 2: google it. He's from Syracuse. Was like, who is this guy?
[36:13] Speaker 1: He looked like a he almost he looked like an
[36:15] Speaker 1: outside linebacker.
[36:16] Speaker 2: He was just your fantast dude.
[36:18] Speaker 1: I guess my takeaway on this the Bill's eight yards
[36:21] Speaker 1: per kind of my takeaway on this is and I've
[36:26] Speaker 1: had two executives. Tell me this Buffalo doesn't have the
[36:31] Speaker 1: roster people think they have Josh Allen. They have two
[36:35] Speaker 1: or three really good players. But I mean, you look
[36:38] Speaker 1: at Denver's roster, you look at Philly's roster, you look
[36:41] Speaker 1: at the Rams roster, Seattle you got dudes. You look
[36:46] Speaker 1: at Buffalo's roster. And it was one of my favorite
[36:50] Speaker 1: picks today because I thought, and I felt kind of
[36:53] Speaker 1: lucky that Buffalo pulled away late. But let me just
[36:56] Speaker 1: ask you, do you think the Bills to have it?
[36:59] Speaker 1: I don't think it's as good as the Ravens. Do
[37:00] Speaker 1: you think the Bills have a top ten roster? No?
[37:04] Speaker 2: Today, I mean they have one guy who is a
[37:07] Speaker 2: transcended all time player. My wife had her baby shower
[37:10] Speaker 2: back in the Bay Area, So for the last forty
[37:12] Speaker 2: eight hours I spent a lot of time on the
[37:14] Speaker 2: couch watching sports. Yeah, and on Friday night I watched
[37:17] Speaker 2: Steph Curry for like the second time and three Nights score.
[37:20] Speaker 2: He scored one hundred points in two games. And it's
[37:23] Speaker 2: not he is the Golden State Warriors franchise. He is
[37:27] Speaker 2: the franchise kind of like what Michael Jordan was to
[37:29] Speaker 2: the franchise. Josh Allen is the Bills franchise. This team
[37:33] Speaker 2: was a joke for twenty years. You watch him to day,
[37:36] Speaker 2: like as Patrick Mahomes has elevated the franchise, But I
[37:40] Speaker 2: was watching them. They were winning ten to eleven twelve games
[37:42] Speaker 2: every year with Alex Smith right and Andy Reid's average
[37:45] Speaker 2: probably I think like eleven wins is for twenty years
[37:47] Speaker 2: before he met Patrick Mahomes. If Patrick Mahomes disappeared tomorrow,
[37:51] Speaker 2: they would not be as good, but Andy Reid be fine.
[37:53] Speaker 2: They'd find another quarterback. They keep winning. If Josh Allen
[37:55] Speaker 2: disappeared tomorrow, the Bills would become the Jets or the
[37:58] Speaker 2: Dolphins like that.
[37:59] Speaker 1: Yep.
[37:59] Speaker 2: I don't care how rich their ownership is because that's
[38:01] Speaker 2: what they were before. Just like when Steph Curry retires,
[38:04] Speaker 2: the Warriors are the Kings with the more rich owner.
[38:09] Speaker 2: I mean that's what it is. I mean yeah, I
[38:13] Speaker 2: mean with the exactly with the higher ticket prices. So
[38:16] Speaker 2: you watch Josh Allen today, it's like he's an unstoppable force.
[38:21] Speaker 2: Like I listen, Lamar is a fantastic player. I've watched
[38:24] Speaker 2: the Ravens most of my life be really good right now.
[38:27] Speaker 2: He elevates them. But if Lamar disappeared tomorrow, I think
[38:31] Speaker 2: the Ravens a couple years would figure it out and
[38:33] Speaker 2: they'd be good again. They're well run out.
[38:34] Speaker 1: They beat the Bears with Tyler Huntley, Yeah, and they
[38:38] Speaker 1: looked great. They played a clean, efficient football game and
[38:41] Speaker 1: beat Chicago soundly.
[38:43] Speaker 2: And I'm not trying to diminish any of these people.
[38:45] Speaker 2: I'm just trying to say, I don't I think people
[38:46] Speaker 2: are quick to forget what a joke the Bills were.
[38:49] Speaker 2: I mean part of what everyone made fun of. Belichick
[38:51] Speaker 2: and Brady's like, well they get the Jets, the Bills,
[38:53] Speaker 2: and the Dolphins six times a year because those franchises
[38:55] Speaker 2: were so bad. And he comes and you're watching to day,
[39:00] Speaker 2: it's you know, Lamar early on was so athletic people
[39:04] Speaker 2: couldn't touch him. It feels like he's a little slower now.
[39:07] Speaker 2: Maybe it's just a little age, a little wear and tear.
[39:09] Speaker 2: Josh's physicality is like you're getting the best of the Herbert's,
[39:15] Speaker 2: the Burrows and the Mahomes throwing, but then you get
[39:17] Speaker 2: this Cam Newton like runner. It's like, what are you?
[39:20] Speaker 2: What are you supposed to do here? You can't you
[39:22] Speaker 2: can't fit. So you watch him to day you go
[39:26] Speaker 2: it is because I thought, for a one second, I'm like,
[39:28] Speaker 2: they lose this game, they're in major.
[39:30] Speaker 1: Truckle was scoring so quickly.
[39:35] Speaker 2: I also think, you know Keon Coleman chefter reporter today,
[39:39] Speaker 2: he was inactive and he was there, you know, high
[39:41] Speaker 2: picked couple of years he missed a meeting on Friday. Well,
[39:44] Speaker 2: I I think if you tell me the Bills are
[39:47] Speaker 2: eight and one coming into this, is he inactive or
[39:50] Speaker 2: does like Sean McDermot just sit him down, gets a
[39:51] Speaker 2: talk and no one really hears about it. But when
[39:54] Speaker 2: you've been losing, you kind of got to show the
[39:56] Speaker 2: team like, we're not tolerating this. That's a we've been
[40:00] Speaker 2: losing and I got to set the tone here with
[40:01] Speaker 2: the rest of my organization. So when I saw that,
[40:03] Speaker 2: I was like, this is kind of on tilt a
[40:06] Speaker 2: little bit for the Bills, especially with the way the
[40:08] Speaker 2: Patriots looking, how easy their scheduled today was huge. If
[40:11] Speaker 2: they lose this game, I still think they'd make the
[40:14] Speaker 2: playoffs because they got some winnable games. It does feel
[40:17] Speaker 2: like the McDermott era would be hanging by a string.
[40:19] Speaker 1: I said Friday on the show, I said, one of
[40:22] Speaker 1: my favorite picks is Buffalo. If they lose, that's my
[40:25] Speaker 1: lead Monday, like, oh, like there's tipping points on all
[40:29] Speaker 1: this stuff, right, it could be Mark Jackson getting replaced
[40:32] Speaker 1: by Steve Kerr. It could be you know, Andy Reid
[40:35] Speaker 1: losing a job. They're tipping point games and this was
[40:40] Speaker 1: one of them. You don't lose at home.
[40:44] Speaker 2: Again.
[40:44] Speaker 1: I just when I watched Buffalo play today, Tampa scored
[40:47] Speaker 1: too easily. The fact that Sean Tucker come in and
[40:50] Speaker 1: just run over players.
[40:53] Speaker 2: Yeah, three touchdowns today. He had a couple passing and
[40:56] Speaker 2: two rushing and one passing.
[40:57] Speaker 1: Like there's a reason people though draft running backs high
[41:01] Speaker 1: generally because there's so many players you can find in
[41:03] Speaker 1: the fourth or fifth round. But I just watched Buffalo
[41:05] Speaker 1: today and it's not really the Bills. It's just Josh Allen.
[41:08] Speaker 1: He's the best football player.
[41:10] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[41:11] Speaker 1: I Mean I always thought Elway, because Elway got drafted
[41:13] Speaker 1: I think by the Yankees. Elway could have been a
[41:15] Speaker 1: baseball pitcher, he could have been a football player. I
[41:18] Speaker 1: always thought like Elway was, like, that's just about as
[41:20] Speaker 1: good as you're gonna get. Josh Allen's bigger, stronger, faster everything.
[41:25] Speaker 1: Plus it's like Big Bend, but just better at everything
[41:28] Speaker 1: than Big Ben.
[41:30] Speaker 2: Yeah, but no, I'd agree.
[41:33] Speaker 1: When you want to enjoy life simpler pleasures, reach for
[41:36] Speaker 1: Green River Whiskey. Whether a dry whiskey or single barrel bourbon,
[41:41] Speaker 1: you're getting over a century of craftsmanship packed into every bottle.
[41:45] Speaker 1: Hop on over to Green River Whiskey dot com and
[41:48] Speaker 1: discover a legend in a bottle today. Okay, Baltimore twenty two,
[41:57] Speaker 1: Cleveland sixteen. I took Cleveland plus eight and a half.
[42:01] Speaker 1: I thought the line was screwy Baltimore Cleveland at home.
[42:05] Speaker 1: And I will say this, John, I firmly believe this
[42:09] Speaker 1: that if Cleveland had a big time, top ten quarterback,
[42:12] Speaker 1: they would be a super Bowl team, a super Bowl
[42:15] Speaker 1: bubble team. I think their defense is Miles Garrett's unblockable.
[42:20] Speaker 1: What did he have four sacks against? He literally he's
[42:22] Speaker 1: gonna have twenty eight sacks. He's unblockable. Devin Bush picked six.
[42:27] Speaker 1: They look a little like Seattle defensively. It's like they're
[42:30] Speaker 1: playing with twelve to thirteen guys, and at home, the
[42:33] Speaker 1: weather's cold. I think they've got I mean they led
[42:36] Speaker 1: sixteen Uh was it three sixteen ten?
[42:40] Speaker 2: They were controlled sixteen ten for me?
[42:42] Speaker 1: Yeah, And they were pushing Baltimore around. And it was
[42:45] Speaker 1: Baltimore's third straight road game. So that's one of the
[42:47] Speaker 1: reasons I like Cleveland. Then Dylan Gabriel, who really is
[42:51] Speaker 1: stabilized the offense. They're not great, but he's stabilized it.
[42:54] Speaker 1: He leaves, Shadeur comes in, and Shadur looks a little
[42:56] Speaker 1: over his skis the first driver too, he's a little lost,
[42:59] Speaker 1: and then he with some of a position where he's
[43:01] Speaker 1: driving to win. He makes a couple of nice throws,
[43:02] Speaker 1: a couple of nice plays. He you know, he was fine.
[43:05] Speaker 1: It was kind of fun to watch. But my takeaway
[43:09] Speaker 1: is Baltimore third straight. Now they go home, I think
[43:12] Speaker 1: for three straight home games, so this was bound to
[43:15] Speaker 1: be an ugly game. What did you make Let's just
[43:18] Speaker 1: talk Shador. What did you make of what you saw?
[43:20] Speaker 2: Well, the thing is, the Browns offensive line is horrendous.
[43:24] Speaker 2: I mean it's really really bad. Now. Luckily, Shador is
[43:27] Speaker 2: used to that because he played the last couple of
[43:28] Speaker 2: years of Colorado where he was running for his life.
[43:31] Speaker 2: You know, I have a hard time judging a rookie
[43:35] Speaker 2: coming in the middle of a game against the Ravens,
[43:38] Speaker 2: made a couple of nice passes, also had to pick
[43:40] Speaker 2: had it took a couple of sacks. I mean, they're
[43:42] Speaker 2: bring guys. It's hard for me to even to like
[43:44] Speaker 2: it wasn't great if you just do the totality of it,
[43:47] Speaker 2: But how many guys would have excelled in that situation.
[43:51] Speaker 2: The Ravens also, I mean, they have to win this
[43:53] Speaker 2: game with the Steelers winning, you know their margin peer
[43:55] Speaker 2: because they start one and four. They this was like,
[43:59] Speaker 2: this is must win territory for him, so my expectations win.
[44:03] Speaker 2: I get the text like because I'm kind of paying
[44:05] Speaker 2: attention because again I just assume they're gonna win. But
[44:07] Speaker 2: once Dylan Gabriel gets knocked out, it's okay, I'll see
[44:10] Speaker 2: how my expectations were pretty low. Say we're really low.
[44:13] Speaker 2: It was gonna need a Miles Garrett like six sacs,
[44:15] Speaker 2: one of them be a forced fumble and pick it
[44:17] Speaker 2: up and return for a touchdown. Because at the end
[44:20] Speaker 2: of the day the Ravens dbs. I mean, they were
[44:23] Speaker 2: just gonna it was gonna be a tough spot for
[44:24] Speaker 2: set Or so I'm not gonna crush the kid in
[44:26] Speaker 2: that situation. That's at night, you're cold. Yeah, you know,
[44:30] Speaker 2: it's just now. I do think I saw enough. Like
[44:33] Speaker 2: just keep minting, you know, let's just see what it
[44:35] Speaker 2: looks like next week. Give give him a chance. What
[44:37] Speaker 2: do you get? What are you gotta lose more games? Yeah?
[44:39] Speaker 1: I thought his final drive spin move than a throw
[44:41] Speaker 1: in the next play to the end zone. I'm like,
[44:43] Speaker 1: those are two big time plays he can play, all right.
[44:46] Speaker 1: Green Bay beats the New York Giants twenty seven to twenty,
[44:50] Speaker 1: so it's really interesting. So first of all, I think
[44:52] Speaker 1: they missed three pats. It was windy as hell, it
[44:55] Speaker 1: was a hard day to play.
[44:57] Speaker 2: Look cold.
[44:58] Speaker 1: But green Bay again, like the Rams clean no turnovers
[45:06] Speaker 1: when I watch them play, because Jacobs went to the
[45:08] Speaker 1: tent and got hurt. My takeaway in green Bay is
[45:13] Speaker 1: is their best players are perimeter players like Watson that
[45:17] Speaker 1: Jordan loved to watch. The today was an unbelievable play.
[45:20] Speaker 1: It's windy, you're on the road, the snap's not perfect.
[45:23] Speaker 1: Jordan Love bobbles it, grabs it, throws up freaking perfect
[45:28] Speaker 1: ball down the right sideline in the corner, and I'm like,
[45:32] Speaker 1: Okay that this kid. They are so reluctant to let
[45:36] Speaker 1: Jordan Love pass thirty five times. And the more I
[45:41] Speaker 1: watch them, he was thirteen to twenty four, two tds,
[45:44] Speaker 1: no picks, he doesn't throw a lot of interceptions. He
[45:47] Speaker 1: he'll let on cork. He has some Sam Darnold, he's
[45:49] Speaker 1: got some Andrew Luck. He'll uncork. He's more far than Rogers.
[45:53] Speaker 1: He'll un corkshit and you'll go God Jordan. But and
[45:57] Speaker 1: it was a weird day because the Giants actually had
[45:59] Speaker 1: more rush yards, passing yards, in total yards, at least
[46:02] Speaker 1: late into the game. They were better on third down,
[46:04] Speaker 1: they won time of possession, they had fewer punts, right,
[46:07] Speaker 1: But Green Bay is like three and out or exciting.
[46:12] Speaker 1: They're an incredibly uneven offense. And I think a lot
[46:16] Speaker 1: of it is because they don't have an identity. I
[46:18] Speaker 1: think they should just put it in Jordan Love's hands
[46:20] Speaker 1: and say we're gonna throw the ball and see what happens.
[46:24] Speaker 2: Well, I was talking to Goldie before you hopped on,
[46:27] Speaker 2: and he was like, you know, the moment Josh Jacobs
[46:30] Speaker 2: got hurt, we all took a sigh of relief because
[46:32] Speaker 2: we knew that we had to open up the offense
[46:34] Speaker 2: a little bit, and I think it's kind of a
[46:36] Speaker 2: crutch for Lafloor. Jacobs is awesome. I mean, he's a
[46:39] Speaker 2: fantastic player, but I think Lafloor, who is much more
[46:43] Speaker 2: Ben Johnson, Kyle Shanahan would run it forty five times
[46:46] Speaker 2: a game, yes, and has no problem if he's gonna
[46:48] Speaker 2: win it twenty to thirteen. He's not looking for style points,
[46:52] Speaker 2: you know. And I think he really relies on the
[46:54] Speaker 2: pass that Jordan Love threw to Christian Watson in the
[46:57] Speaker 2: corner of the end zone. I don't looked like Rogers
[46:59] Speaker 2: to Devon Adams seven years ago. So one guy that
[47:03] Speaker 2: kind of popped today was Christian Watson. And I think
[47:06] Speaker 2: it's always driven Lafloor a little nuts because he's you know,
[47:08] Speaker 2: drops and you know he's a speed wide receiver. It's
[47:12] Speaker 2: like twenty twenty five, like I would use that guy
[47:14] Speaker 2: because he's flying around, you know, the rookie wide receiver
[47:18] Speaker 2: from Texas keep in and out of the lineup. You know,
[47:21] Speaker 2: they got to mix and match a little bit with
[47:23] Speaker 2: some of these wide receivers are rolling out. Dobbs had
[47:24] Speaker 2: a couple of bad drops.
[47:27] Speaker 1: Drops.
[47:28] Speaker 2: You know we talked about the Bills. I thought today
[47:31] Speaker 2: when there was a moment you're like, is Jameis Winston
[47:33] Speaker 2: gonna beat the Green Bay Packers? Felt like the Bills
[47:35] Speaker 2: game against the Bucks, like this is a turning point
[47:37] Speaker 2: for their season, and this would be It got really
[47:41] Speaker 2: loud the last couple of weeks, right, it's it's Losing
[47:44] Speaker 2: to the Eagles is not the end of the world
[47:46] Speaker 2: for la Floor, but losing to the Panthers and the
[47:48] Speaker 2: Browns is losing to Jameis Winston, even in a freezing, cold,
[47:52] Speaker 2: windy game. And I'm a Mike Kafka guy, but you
[47:56] Speaker 2: can't be losing to Mike Kafka and Jameis Winston when
[47:58] Speaker 2: you're the coach of the Green Bay Packers and you've
[48:00] Speaker 2: already lost some games. It was must win, I mean,
[48:02] Speaker 2: and for a split second you're like, I think Jamis
[48:04] Speaker 2: might take him down. Damn James. They were in trouble,
[48:07] Speaker 2: and then Parsons made some plays, their defense made some plays.
[48:10] Speaker 1: Yeah, and then Jamis had a really bad end zone pick,
[48:13] Speaker 1: like he just missed by five yards. No, I think
[48:16] Speaker 1: listen the receivers. There's been talk something I.
[48:19] Speaker 2: Think Daball might still be around if Jamis had been
[48:21] Speaker 2: their backup quarterback the whole time instead of Russell Wilson.
[48:24] Speaker 2: He just gives them a little more mph, doesn't he.
[48:26] Speaker 1: Yeah, it's interesting, I because Dabell loves football. I saw
[48:30] Speaker 1: an article this weekend in one of the New York
[48:32] Speaker 1: papers and they're like, he's just a football junkie. Dable's
[48:37] Speaker 1: not going anywhere. He'll code, He'll He'll take an assistant
[48:39] Speaker 1: job somewhere. He just wants to coach.
[48:40] Speaker 2: He wants the Penn State job. Diana was saying, Wow,
[48:44] Speaker 2: that's interesting.
[48:46] Speaker 1: I like Dabel. He's rough, he's not for everybody, but
[48:49] Speaker 1: I think he's a football junkie and I think he's smart.
[48:52] Speaker 1: He reminds me a little of an offensive Brian Robert
[48:54] Speaker 1: Sala where he's wound tight. He's really intense. Sometimes about
[48:58] Speaker 1: twice a season he's gonna lose it and you're gonna
[49:00] Speaker 1: be like, Bro, you can't do that. You're a head coach.
[49:02] Speaker 1: Like I tend to defend those guys because I do
[49:05] Speaker 1: think Sola is a remarkable coach, and I think Brian's
[49:08] Speaker 1: really good, but.
[49:11] Speaker 2: Kind of Bill. But he's like a chubby, bald version
[49:12] Speaker 2: of Bill O'Brien when he was younger.
[49:15] Speaker 1: But Matt, Matt lafan You know, I always heard this
[49:18] Speaker 1: about Matt Lafleur when he was in Washington and he
[49:21] Speaker 1: came out, then he went to Tennessee, and then he
[49:22] Speaker 1: went to the Rambay. The Packers people said Shanahan of
[49:26] Speaker 1: the Shanahan McVey Lafleur trio, McVeigh was the best culture guy.
[49:34] Speaker 1: Shanahan was the best scheme guy. Matt was a little
[49:37] Speaker 1: of both. He doesn't quite have the presence of McVeigh.
[49:41] Speaker 1: He's not quite the scheme guy Shanahan is. I think
[49:45] Speaker 1: he's a pretty good CEO, but I don't think he's
[49:48] Speaker 1: quite as clever as Ben Johnson. He's not quite as
[49:51] Speaker 1: clever as a play designer and a play caller. I
[49:53] Speaker 1: think he's just a very good coach who's good at
[49:56] Speaker 1: a lot of things. I don't understand the lack of
[49:59] Speaker 1: trust for Jordan Love because that's what it feels like
[50:02] Speaker 1: me watching That's what I might as a consumer of
[50:05] Speaker 1: the Packers. I'm like good and I understand when Kraft
[50:08] Speaker 1: gets hurt. It's not quite the same offense, but it
[50:13] Speaker 1: feels a little predictable to me. That's what I'm watching.
[50:15] Speaker 1: I mean, they had a couple of three and outs.
[50:17] Speaker 1: It's like you've got too many good players to have
[50:19] Speaker 1: three and outs.
[50:20] Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't get it either. I mean I think
[50:23] Speaker 2: you go back to when Rogers resurrect his career. I
[50:26] Speaker 2: think his his gut is to run the ball. I
[50:29] Speaker 2: think he's a conservative coach. You are who you are,
[50:32] Speaker 2: you know once you get to his level, like your
[50:35] Speaker 2: ethos as a play caller. He is not a spread
[50:39] Speaker 2: it and chucking around the yard type guy. That's just
[50:42] Speaker 2: not who he is. And I think it's very, very
[50:44] Speaker 2: difficult for him. I think if you put Kevin O'Connell
[50:47] Speaker 2: on the Packers, they would be much better off, and
[50:49] Speaker 2: Jordan Love would be much better off because that's what
[50:51] Speaker 2: he wants to do. And I think if you put
[50:53] Speaker 2: Matt Lafleur with JJ McCarthy in that group, they would
[50:56] Speaker 2: look better. So it's just to me, it's just a
[50:59] Speaker 2: style and his style. Remember him and Aaron butted heads
[51:02] Speaker 2: because he wanted him under center. He want him running
[51:03] Speaker 2: the ball. He does not want shotgun four or five wide.
[51:06] Speaker 2: That's not what he wants to do. Jordan Love definitely
[51:08] Speaker 2: feel and listen, he's not as good as Aaron Rodgers.
[51:11] Speaker 2: Of course he's not. You're gonna have to deal with
[51:12] Speaker 2: some picks, but like, let him slinging around. I give
[51:15] Speaker 2: credit to the last two guys have dealt with Sam Donald,
[51:17] Speaker 2: Like just let him fling it like he's gonna have
[51:19] Speaker 2: some days like today, but over the aggregate, it's gonna
[51:22] Speaker 2: be pretty good. I watched that throw that he made,
[51:25] Speaker 2: and you could argue that Jordan's a little bit of
[51:27] Speaker 2: a tease. You know, he's not as good as some
[51:29] Speaker 2: of these guys, which I heard you saying this the
[51:31] Speaker 2: other day on TV, Like he's just good. He's not
[51:34] Speaker 2: great or whatever, but he's not bad. He's good. You
[51:36] Speaker 2: could win a lot of games with the Cousins, the
[51:38] Speaker 2: Jack Prescott. That's Jordan Love's world. Let him slinging around.
[51:41] Speaker 1: If he came out today, He's six', four big, arm,
[51:44] Speaker 1: moves nice. KID i, mean he always any time you
[51:47] Speaker 1: put a mic in front of, him he's always a team.
[51:49] Speaker 1: Guy he And mendoza would be the top two. PICKS i,
[51:52] Speaker 1: mean his traits are.
[51:53] Speaker 2: Outstanding he's a Bit Ty. Simpson Ty Ty simpson couldn't
[51:56] Speaker 2: dream of having the skills he.
[51:58] Speaker 1: Has, YEAH i don't Get Ty simpson that that ship
[52:00] Speaker 1: has sailed for me after Sevenatur. Day but, OKAY i
[52:04] Speaker 1: want to get talk about this. Game San francisco forty
[52:06] Speaker 1: One arizona twenty. Two Brock purty played very, well got
[52:10] Speaker 1: started with a Sky more kickoff, return and they were
[52:13] Speaker 1: off to the. RACES i got To i'll say, THIS
[52:18] Speaker 1: i Think shanahan And Robert. Sala first of, All arizona
[52:21] Speaker 1: was a. Mess they had eleven penalties in the first.
[52:24] Speaker 1: Half harrison didn't, Play But i'm going to Give San francisco. Credit.
[52:30] Speaker 1: John i'm not sure if any other staff in that
[52:34] Speaker 1: THE nfl could Overcome IT'S i Texted saul at the other.
[52:39] Speaker 1: DAY i was, like bro you're coaching your ass off
[52:41] Speaker 1: because you have no players, left And, WINTER i think
[52:44] Speaker 1: is a very good young. Player BUT i, mean my
[52:47] Speaker 1: my interpretation watching that game today, WAS i, mean obviously
[52:50] Speaker 1: you can move a pocket much more with Brock purty
[52:52] Speaker 1: than Mac. Jones they you, know they're moving the pocket
[52:54] Speaker 1: all over the, place and that's What brock does very.
[52:57] Speaker 1: Well but they should not be beating people forty one
[53:00] Speaker 1: twenty two on the.
[53:00] Speaker 2: ROAD i do think one The cardinals have less like
[53:06] Speaker 2: a star, power but they are as injured as the
[53:09] Speaker 2: forty nine ers and now and the forty nine ers getting,
[53:13] Speaker 2: purty but piersoll, back their offense feels a lot different
[53:16] Speaker 2: when you Put Ricky piersall With, Jennings kittle and. McCaffrey
[53:20] Speaker 2: i did think it was a delicate. SITUATION i get,
[53:23] Speaker 2: it you paid, him you, know one hundred and eighty
[53:24] Speaker 2: million dollars, Guaranteed but how Well Mac jones has been.
[53:27] Speaker 2: Playing And kyle was steadfast and, like this is our.
[53:30] Speaker 2: Guy when he's, ready we're gonna. Go AND i, said
[53:32] Speaker 2: this is kind of. Weird he's, ready what's been up
[53:34] Speaker 2: with his? Foot he's just gonna be one hundred. Percent
[53:36] Speaker 2: he looked completely. Normal And kyle the way he handled
[53:39] Speaker 2: with Mac, jones and he Gave mack a lot of
[53:40] Speaker 2: credit to is, Like kyle's pretty good at. Quarterbacks, yes
[53:45] Speaker 2: they're winning a lot of games With. Mac how many
[53:48] Speaker 2: coaches beside like A Andy, reid could you just be, like,
[53:51] Speaker 2: yeah you're just gonna win ten eleven. GAMES i don't
[53:53] Speaker 2: care what your schedule. Is with a banged Up purdy
[53:55] Speaker 2: and Mac. Jones i'd say most teams in THE nfl
[53:58] Speaker 2: are winning six, games especially With Fred warner with a
[54:02] Speaker 2: cast on his. Foot nick nick Boson florida rehabit AND
[54:05] Speaker 2: Acl so, listen The cardinals aren't, bad but the forty
[54:09] Speaker 2: nine ers beat the livin you know what out.
[54:11] Speaker 1: Thinking about, This arizona had almost five hundred yards of
[54:14] Speaker 1: offense and averaged seven yards of play and got the
[54:17] Speaker 1: you know what kicked out of. Them arizona has. Talent
[54:21] Speaker 1: arizona is they're just.
[54:22] Speaker 2: Big Oh they're just.
[54:24] Speaker 1: They Are indianapolis where you're, like they've got, dudes they
[54:28] Speaker 1: just don't have the, quarterback. Right, so you, KNOW i
[54:32] Speaker 1: think there is you, know we. ALL i WHEN i
[54:36] Speaker 1: watched the coaching, today especially in the late, WINDOW i
[54:39] Speaker 1: Had Andy reid And Sean. Payton you, know Today i've
[54:45] Speaker 1: Got Kyle. SHANAHAN i don't know If John gannon's a great,
[54:49] Speaker 1: coach but shannan. Is i've got McVeigh And mike. McDonald
[54:53] Speaker 1: i Got John, Harbon. STEFANSKI i Like. STEFANSKI I i
[54:57] Speaker 1: Think john the coaching in THE fl, TODAY i don't
[55:01] Speaker 1: think there's ever been this many good young. COACHES i
[55:03] Speaker 1: think it's. All AND i think That Jesse minter with
[55:06] Speaker 1: The chargers will eventually get. Something there'll be a college
[55:10] Speaker 1: guy or too that will pop. Out Ryan day obviously he's.
[55:13] Speaker 1: Done this is the Best ohio. State Like ohio. State
[55:16] Speaker 1: for the first time in my, life it feels like
[55:17] Speaker 1: they've Like, bama they've separated from people like by a
[55:20] Speaker 1: touchdown or. SO i think THEY'LL i think they'll Beat indiana.
[55:24] Speaker 1: SIGNIFICANTLY i don't know WHEN i WHEN i Watch shanahan And,
[55:28] Speaker 1: Sala i'm just. IMPRESSED i, mean they a. Lot they've
[55:31] Speaker 1: got eight different guys defensively traded or not playing on.
[55:35] Speaker 2: Defense, WELL i think when you look at a lot
[55:38] Speaker 2: of the in the forty Nine ers been one of
[55:39] Speaker 2: the best teams over the last what five six? Years
[55:43] Speaker 2: you go to The, bills you know who's the poster Child,
[55:45] Speaker 2: mahomes who's the poster child for the Ravens? Lamar, right
[55:48] Speaker 2: you just go around the top. Teams there's a couple,
[55:51] Speaker 2: though like The. Lions you kind of Think Dan campbell. First,
[55:53] Speaker 2: yeah you definitely with the forty Nine, ERS i mean
[55:55] Speaker 2: that they're they're they're franchise Is Kyle, shanahan you, KNOW
[55:59] Speaker 2: i mean his his importance and Getting Robert solid to come.
[56:02] Speaker 2: Back you, KNOW i get asked a, lot do you
[56:04] Speaker 2: think he'll get a head coaching job this? YEAR i
[56:07] Speaker 2: just don't think the, Candidates like he's definitely gonna get
[56:10] Speaker 2: some interviews. PROBABLY i, MEAN i Think Jonathan gannon is
[56:13] Speaker 2: in major trouble. Now i'd also argue that if this was,
[56:16] Speaker 2: COLLEGE i would View arizona as one of those, jobs
[56:20] Speaker 2: LIKE i wouldn't touch that, Job like that's just a
[56:22] Speaker 2: bad that's a place where it tough to, win especially
[56:25] Speaker 2: when you factor in you're gonna Beat Kyle, Shanahan sean,
[56:27] Speaker 2: McVay And mike. McDonald good luck to you with an
[56:30] Speaker 2: owner of this Cheap god speak, guys because THAT'S i
[56:33] Speaker 2: don't Think Jonathan gannon's, terrible but their team's really falling
[56:36] Speaker 2: apart now they're Not they're gonna their record's gonna be.
[56:38] Speaker 2: Awful so, YEAH i, MEAN i, Listen kyle this. Year
[56:43] Speaker 2: we liked him because of their, schedule but once you
[56:45] Speaker 2: had all the, injuries it could have fallen off the
[56:47] Speaker 2: rails fast and deserve a lot OF i think the
[56:50] Speaker 2: mac jones that signing and resurrecting his career because he.
[56:54] Speaker 2: LISTEN i think his value it's, like, well would you
[56:57] Speaker 2: trade him to The Minnesota. Vikings, yes, NO i need,
[56:59] Speaker 2: him but my problem is what a party gets? Hurt? Again?
[57:02] Speaker 2: Right his value to the forty nine, ERS i would
[57:04] Speaker 2: for the right, price But i'm not giving to you
[57:07] Speaker 2: for a third round. Pick would you give me two
[57:08] Speaker 2: seconds or? Something because do you want to? Win or
[57:11] Speaker 2: do you do you want to? Lose because you're gonna
[57:12] Speaker 2: lose WITH jj McCarthy.
[57:13] Speaker 1: Right, NO i Think minnesota is to. Play AND i
[57:16] Speaker 1: said it last week on the. AIR i Said i'd
[57:18] Speaker 1: get a third round. Pick you're probably, right he's worth
[57:21] Speaker 1: a second and the fourth or a second and the.
[57:22] Speaker 1: THIRD i think it's probably what Mac jones is. Worth
[57:26] Speaker 1: and it's always hard to decipher is Mac jones good
[57:30] Speaker 1: or is it maybe just the? Coach BUT i do
[57:32] Speaker 1: think when you Watched mac make throws to a depleted receiving,
[57:36] Speaker 1: corps it was pretty. IMPRESSIVE i.
[57:39] Speaker 2: THINK i think one thing too that you know last
[57:41] Speaker 2: year he was injured but changed the forty nine ers,
[57:44] Speaker 2: forever was that it was between The rams and The
[57:46] Speaker 2: niners to Get christian, McCaffrey and it was The niners
[57:49] Speaker 2: gave a, second a, third and they had to give
[57:51] Speaker 2: that extra fourth to make sure they got, him and
[57:54] Speaker 2: it changed the. Franchise AND i would say also doubling.
[57:56] Speaker 2: Down you, Know kittle was getting a little. Older he's
[57:59] Speaker 2: a pretty Dominant so when you watch those two, guys
[58:02] Speaker 2: they are as good of a tandem as a running
[58:03] Speaker 2: back and tight end as you're gonna. SEE i mean
[58:05] Speaker 2: they are they are ass. KICKERS i mean they are ass.
[58:09] Speaker 1: KICKERS i Think kittle had two touchdowns today and.
[58:12] Speaker 2: He's he's just so physical and he's so good in the.
[58:14] Speaker 2: Run and McCaffrey even on some of his runs that
[58:17] Speaker 2: aren't a sexy he's just so physical and he's so. Consistent.
[58:20] Speaker 2: Though those guys are just They're hall Of fame. PLAYERS i,
[58:23] Speaker 2: mean that's that's really. What they're Just hall Of fame.
[58:25] Speaker 2: Players they're winning, players and they're guys you know when
[58:28] Speaker 2: kind of you know what's hitting the fan and your
[58:30] Speaker 2: backs are against the. Wall they're guys you can lean.
[58:32] Speaker 2: On and that's The chiefs have have had those type.
[58:34] Speaker 2: Guys you just need those type guys to be in
[58:36] Speaker 2: the trenches.
[58:37] Speaker 1: With, yeah that was one of My that was my second.
[58:38] Speaker 1: Favorite blazing five PICK i Took San francisco minus two
[58:41] Speaker 1: and a. HALF i, said When shanahan gets blown out
[58:45] Speaker 1: take The niners the next.
[58:46] Speaker 2: Week you know it might come down To now The
[58:48] Speaker 2: bears sketch was a little harder than The. Niners but
[58:50] Speaker 2: The bears play the, night they could cut that seven
[58:52] Speaker 2: seed could come down between those two. Teams don't that's
[58:55] Speaker 2: a big game.
[58:56] Speaker 1: Question WELL i HAVE i Have philadelphia Beating detroit, tonight
[59:00] Speaker 1: so you Know chicago keeps winning. Ugly don't be shocked
[59:02] Speaker 1: If chicago has a shot to win the, division which sounds,
[59:05] Speaker 1: ridiculous it's.
[59:06] Speaker 2: CRAZY i know.

[1:00:02] Speaker 1: last ten minutes. Here you know when the nil college football,
[1:00:06] Speaker 1: talk when the nil and transfer portal, emerged the big,
[1:00:09] Speaker 1: fear AND i think the media does a bad job at,
[1:00:12] Speaker 1: this the political media and the sports. Media it's always
[1:00:15] Speaker 1: the end of. Time so the nil and the transfer,
[1:00:17] Speaker 1: portal the fear is the Rich you're only going to Get. Richard,
[1:00:20] Speaker 1: well actually the opposite has, happened is that take Out
[1:00:23] Speaker 1: Ohio state mostly because of their. Defense but after this, Weekend, Bama,
[1:00:29] Speaker 1: Oklahoma Old Miss, Oregon, Indiana, Georgia TEXAS a and M.
[1:00:33] Speaker 1: John it was a couple of years ago When bama
[1:00:36] Speaker 1: And georgia looked different than everybody. Else i'm looking at
[1:00:40] Speaker 1: all these teams outside Of Ohio state mostly because of
[1:00:43] Speaker 1: this unbelievable. DEFENSE i, MEAN i Watched Michigan northwestern came
[1:00:47] Speaker 1: down to a final. KICK i Watched IOWA usc came
[1:00:50] Speaker 1: down to a couple of. Calls there is so much
[1:00:53] Speaker 1: parody now in college. FOOTBALL i Like georgia a, lot
[1:00:56] Speaker 1: and they certainly Have texas's, number But bama Has georgia's
[1:00:59] Speaker 1: Number Old. MISS i, mean if it was such a great,
[1:01:03] Speaker 1: Job Lane kiffin would have already signed that. Extension him
[1:01:05] Speaker 1: not signing it is probably a sign that he knows
[1:01:08] Speaker 1: there's limitations At Old. Miss everybody was afraid The portal
[1:01:12] Speaker 1: and THE nil were going to just bury The iowas
[1:01:17] Speaker 1: and bury the you know You're now we've Got indiana
[1:01:22] Speaker 1: AND a AND m and Ol miss have. EMERGED i don't.
[1:01:26] Speaker 1: KNOW i Think Ohio state's the best, team but, AH
[1:01:31] Speaker 1: i Watched bama. LOOSE i was. Shocked i'm Like, christ
[1:01:33] Speaker 1: there's twelve teams. Here i'm not sure who's the second
[1:01:35] Speaker 1: best team in the. Country Maybe.
[1:01:36] Speaker 2: Georgia, WELL i think for most of the last twenty,
[1:01:39] Speaker 2: years PRE, nil there were two or three teams that
[1:01:42] Speaker 2: were so much. Better you go back To pete and
[1:01:44] Speaker 2: Then urban and Then nick and then for a little
[1:01:47] Speaker 2: Bit kirby And dabbo in there for a, minute and
[1:01:49] Speaker 2: they really only had to out coach an opponent maybe
[1:01:53] Speaker 2: once or twice during the regular, season and sometimes during
[1:01:56] Speaker 2: that regular season game was a team that didn't have your,
[1:01:58] Speaker 2: talent but your team was kind of sleepwalking maybe in
[1:02:02] Speaker 2: your conference championship game and then in the. Playoffs right
[1:02:05] Speaker 2: now you kind of got out coach him Like lane's
[1:02:08] Speaker 2: power as an offensive play callers on full. Display feels
[1:02:12] Speaker 2: like eight of the twelve. Games, yeah look at. Yesterday
[1:02:16] Speaker 2: why do you Think? Venables you, Know venables And kirby
[1:02:19] Speaker 2: are probably the two best defensive. Coaches they are head.
[1:02:21] Speaker 2: Coaches patricia's probably an overqualified college. Coach, yeah you know
[1:02:24] Speaker 2: WHAT i, mean how well he's. Doing but they match
[1:02:27] Speaker 2: up well again, Too Kaylin, Deboorn Ryan grubb And Steve
[1:02:30] Speaker 2: sarkisian The oklahomas beat him twice two times in a,
[1:02:33] Speaker 2: row and obviously he's beaten sark the last three times
[1:02:36] Speaker 2: they've played in the last two. Years, well because we
[1:02:38] Speaker 2: got we're basically even, right relatively, Equals and it's just
[1:02:42] Speaker 2: a coaching schematic. Matchup AND i am At venables In
[1:02:45] Speaker 2: kirby are elite defensive, coaches just Like lane's an elite
[1:02:49] Speaker 2: you know offensive. Coach sark is. Two you, Know arch
[1:02:53] Speaker 2: is a little hit or miss you, know it's. Quarterback
[1:02:55] Speaker 2: if you had a better quarterback, play Maybe AND i
[1:02:57] Speaker 2: think coaching is just more on full display in more
[1:02:59] Speaker 2: games games now than. EVER i, mean you AND i
[1:03:01] Speaker 2: have been. Talking i've come around because yesterday is a
[1:03:04] Speaker 2: great example of, like you, Know oklahoma Playing. Alabama well
[1:03:09] Speaker 2: five years, Ago oklahoma's Playing kansas And alabama's Playing kentucky
[1:03:12] Speaker 2: On november. Fifteenth so you, know, UH usc is Playing
[1:03:17] Speaker 2: colorado And iowa's Playing. Minnesota those games. Suck now we
[1:03:22] Speaker 2: get the mat they're playing each. Other, yeah you, know
[1:03:24] Speaker 2: the best thing that ever THE sec ever did was
[1:03:26] Speaker 2: Get oklahoma And texas to come because it is it
[1:03:28] Speaker 2: has amplified their. Games that just they have double the
[1:03:32] Speaker 2: amount of sweet games and they already had a.
[1:03:34] Speaker 1: Lot, LISTEN i was A pac twelve, fan BUT i
[1:03:36] Speaker 1: Got IOWA usc in the. Rain it was a great.
[1:03:39] Speaker 1: Game it was Getting Oregon iowa the week before that
[1:03:43] Speaker 1: may have been a better. Game and so, YEAH i
[1:03:46] Speaker 1: like all this stuff to.
[1:03:48] Speaker 2: Me, Texas, GEORGIA i mean it's just been bright lights
[1:03:51] Speaker 2: the last two. Years it's must. Watch.
[1:03:53] Speaker 1: YEAH i just Think i'll be honest About. Oklahoma they
[1:03:57] Speaker 1: really surprised, me you, know they've got so they have
[1:04:00] Speaker 1: a big time quarterback that can make the. PLAYS i
[1:04:03] Speaker 1: think my big takeaway out of THAT i had said
[1:04:07] Speaker 1: last week two of my big takes WERE i don't
[1:04:09] Speaker 1: really Buy TEXAS a AND. M they fell behind thirty
[1:04:12] Speaker 1: to three and came back and. Won i'm still not
[1:04:14] Speaker 1: blown away by. Him it was a great, comeback but
[1:04:16] Speaker 1: they got manhandled at home for an hour and a.
[1:04:18] Speaker 1: Half the second thing Is Ty, SIMPSON i don't see
[1:04:22] Speaker 1: the traits. EVERYBODY i am a trade. GUY i don't
[1:04:25] Speaker 1: care what your record was in. College Joss allen couldn't
[1:04:28] Speaker 1: win in. College mahome's not a losing. RECORD i don't really.
[1:04:30] Speaker 1: Care the bottom line is you got. IT i have
[1:04:32] Speaker 1: to say. Wow it's something Like Kyler murray may not
[1:04:36] Speaker 1: be a GREAT nfl, quarterback But i'm watching him run
[1:04:38] Speaker 1: around And i'm, Like, wow that's better Than Mussel. Wilson that's.
[1:04:41] Speaker 1: Wow Ty simpson's, fine but it's kind of A jj McCarthy.
[1:04:46] Speaker 1: Thing surrounded by good. Players there's not a single trait
[1:04:49] Speaker 1: Where i'm, like, shosh that's first. Round Ty simpson's draftable to,
[1:04:53] Speaker 1: me feels like a mid late second round. Guy did
[1:04:57] Speaker 1: you have a different opinion about The bama. Quarterback weeks,
[1:05:00] Speaker 1: ago everybody Said heisman number one.
[1:05:02] Speaker 2: Pick, Well i'd say this ten years ago before quarterback,
[1:05:06] Speaker 2: inflation which started with The Mahomes Alan lamar kind of,
[1:05:09] Speaker 2: run and everyone's been. Drafted overdrafting. Quarterbacks guys Like Ty
[1:05:13] Speaker 2: simpson AND jj McCarthy went in the third or fourth,
[1:05:15] Speaker 2: round As Dak prescott And Kirk. COUSINS i, mean that
[1:05:19] Speaker 2: wasn't that long ago that those, guys they won a
[1:05:21] Speaker 2: lot of games in. College Mississippi state was number one
[1:05:23] Speaker 2: team for a moment When dak was. There Google Kirk
[1:05:26] Speaker 2: cousins record in. College those guys went in the third
[1:05:29] Speaker 2: and fourth. Round to, Me Ty simpson has never been
[1:05:32] Speaker 2: a top one hundred pick to the last seven eight, years,
[1:05:35] Speaker 2: RIGHT jj, McCarthy maybe because come From michigan's like a third.
[1:05:39] Speaker 2: Rounder but these guys now this quarterback, inflation they get overdrafted. NOW,
[1:05:43] Speaker 2: jj to me is a more physically brings more to
[1:05:46] Speaker 2: the table Than Ty. SIMPSON i Mean Ty, Simpsons Ryan,
[1:05:48] Speaker 2: williams the star wide, receivers Fawn Off, cliff the other
[1:05:51] Speaker 2: two guys are still pretty. Like he's playing with some
[1:05:53] Speaker 2: pretty elite coaching and some pretty elite. TALENT i Love Michael,
[1:05:56] Speaker 2: pennix But Michael penix is not good and you go, back,
[1:06:00] Speaker 2: Well Michael panicks played with THREE nfl wide receivers in elite, coaching,
[1:06:04] Speaker 2: Right so it's JUST i Just i'm out on. Tip
[1:06:06] Speaker 2: this quarterback class is. TERRIBLE i mos texting around. Yesterday
[1:06:09] Speaker 2: it is not. Good it's not good at. All Lenora,
[1:06:13] Speaker 2: sellers who in the you watched that first half against Six,
[1:06:16] Speaker 2: Sam you're, like got this? Guy? Really the second half
[1:06:18] Speaker 2: of just? Atrocious, well who's he going up Against Mike?
[1:06:20] Speaker 2: Elko that guy's an elite defensive. Coach what did he?
[1:06:23] Speaker 2: Do he made a couple of. Adjustments sellers to seeing
[1:06:25] Speaker 2: ghosts and it's just a train. Wreck so to, me
[1:06:28] Speaker 2: this is Not IF i hear one more time about
[1:06:30] Speaker 2: The browns Or, jets their savior does not exist with
[1:06:33] Speaker 2: the top five pick in this. Draft it does. Not
[1:06:36] Speaker 2: so if that's what they're obviously that's what they were.
[1:06:39] Speaker 2: Hoping BUT i don't see any of these. QUARTERBACKS i Like.
[1:06:42] Speaker 1: MENDOZA i like his, size AND i like the fact
[1:06:45] Speaker 1: that he. WON i like the fact that he went
[1:06:47] Speaker 1: cal To. Indiana he's never had five star. Teammates he's
[1:06:51] Speaker 1: never had a great old. LINE i like the, fact big,
[1:06:55] Speaker 1: strong big.
[1:06:56] Speaker 2: Arm you, know.
[1:06:58] Speaker 1: It comes to his, Family cuban. Immigrants it's a great,
[1:07:02] Speaker 1: story like he wrapped your, arms, Like, oh this kid's
[1:07:04] Speaker 1: worked his ass. Off really a good. LEADER i do
[1:07:08] Speaker 1: think he looks. Different, also he's twenty. Two Dante moore's.
[1:07:11] Speaker 1: TWENTY i think that matters a. Ton he to me
[1:07:14] Speaker 1: That Penn state drive and how he played Against illinois
[1:07:18] Speaker 1: And Penn state late And. Oregon if you go to
[1:07:20] Speaker 1: three moments of this season where you were, Like, Okay,
[1:07:23] Speaker 1: mendoza you have to deliver otsin, stadium Last, Drive Penn
[1:07:27] Speaker 1: State illinois. GAME i thought he was unbelievable in all.
[1:07:30] Speaker 2: Three, yeah and he's gonna play in seven bigger, games
[1:07:33] Speaker 2: and he's gonna Get Ohio state in the championship. Game
[1:07:35] Speaker 2: more than likely he's gonna play in playoff. GAMES i,
[1:07:37] Speaker 2: mean who. Knows if they Play Ohio state close in
[1:07:40] Speaker 2: the championship, Game Ohio state and them could host like
[1:07:43] Speaker 2: they could be because they. Can they can see the
[1:07:45] Speaker 2: top four however they. Want and to, me if you
[1:07:48] Speaker 2: live To Ohio state by under ten, POINTS i got
[1:07:50] Speaker 2: no problem Making indiana a top four seas so they
[1:07:53] Speaker 2: are they're gonna play in massive games against The, georgia's The.
[1:07:56] Speaker 2: Oklahomas he's got a chance to really solidify himself because
[1:08:00] Speaker 2: obviously it's what he did Against. OREGON i had some
[1:08:03] Speaker 2: buddies at the game in the scouting, world and they
[1:08:05] Speaker 2: said his mental toughness to bounce back after that pick
[1:08:07] Speaker 2: six and make. Plays obviously The Penn state. Game but
[1:08:11] Speaker 2: now he gets to go up Against Ohio. State he
[1:08:13] Speaker 2: gets to go up against probably one of THESE sec.
[1:08:15] Speaker 2: TEAMS i Mean, oklahoma that could be who, knows maybe
[1:08:18] Speaker 2: a first round Matchup oklahoma Against. INDIANA i, mean you're
[1:08:21] Speaker 2: gonna get some great matchups for, him specifically obviously his
[1:08:25] Speaker 2: coach And, signetti they've done an incredible. JOB i do Think.
[1:08:28] Speaker 2: Oklahoma here's WHAT i will say About venables BECAUSE i
[1:08:31] Speaker 2: was googling him last. Night basically in ninety nine he
[1:08:34] Speaker 2: came With stoops To. Oklahoma, yeah he's worked at two
[1:08:36] Speaker 2: places in twenty five, Years oklahoma And. Clemson so he
[1:08:39] Speaker 2: knows two things really well because do that run With
[1:08:42] Speaker 2: stoops and then With dabbo he can. Recruit he cares
[1:08:44] Speaker 2: about recruiting, you AND i talked some coaches LIKE i
[1:08:46] Speaker 2: don't want to. Recruits he cares and he, tries And
[1:08:49] Speaker 2: oklahoma is a good recruiting. Operation he cares about. It
[1:08:52] Speaker 2: he's and he's a great defensive. Coach and you watch his,
[1:08:55] Speaker 2: team you, go they got players which he's. Recruiting and
[1:08:59] Speaker 2: his defense is only so LIKE i think people in little,
[1:09:01] Speaker 2: meat heady and. Stuff he brings some stuff to the. Table,
[1:09:05] Speaker 2: yeah he will recruit and his defense is. Elite and,
[1:09:07] Speaker 2: listen he just paid that thirty year old And matier to.
[1:09:10] Speaker 2: Come so it's, like, hey you take the offense And
[1:09:12] Speaker 2: i'll do the program and the defense and we'll. Be
[1:09:15] Speaker 2: we'll have talents and we will. Be they're not good on,
[1:09:18] Speaker 2: defense they ARE sec dominant on.
[1:09:20] Speaker 1: Defense, yes AND i and that surprised. Me texas is
[1:09:24] Speaker 1: winning a lot of, games didn't surprise. Me you. Know
[1:09:28] Speaker 1: it's it's funny Since texas joined THE, sec they've only
[1:09:32] Speaker 1: got like four, losses three or To. Georgia, yeah so
[1:09:35] Speaker 1: everybody's selling all Their texas. Stock it's like they can't Beat.
[1:09:38] Speaker 1: Georgia it's like The seahawks can't beat The. Rams darnold's
[1:09:41] Speaker 1: beating everybody. Else sark AND i Thought arch played. OKAY
[1:09:44] Speaker 1: i don't LOVE i think Losing gold into THE. NFL
[1:09:47] Speaker 1: i don't feel Like texas has a number one dominant.
[1:09:50] Speaker 1: RECEIVER i REALLY i Thought arch played. OKAY i first of,
[1:09:54] Speaker 1: ALL i Think george is a much more physical. PROGRAM
[1:09:56] Speaker 1: i just think they are you, know you AND i
[1:09:58] Speaker 1: have said. THIS usc And texas are, Pretty They're, Finesse they're,
[1:10:02] Speaker 1: Pretty they're. Cool george is not. Cool george is, Tough
[1:10:06] Speaker 1: george is, hard AND i Think george is a bad
[1:10:09] Speaker 1: matchup For texas. FOOTBALL i think they.
[1:10:12] Speaker 2: Just, well don't you think the? Identity look at the
[1:10:14] Speaker 2: identity of these. Coaches you, KNOW usc actually has shown some,
[1:10:17] Speaker 2: toughness but relative to what they are in their, heyday
[1:10:19] Speaker 2: not even. Close, sark you, know a Little, finesse he's
[1:10:23] Speaker 2: an offensive. Guy lane who's the you, know just the
[1:10:27] Speaker 2: everyone says they got to Hire lane and he's awesome offensive.
[1:10:31] Speaker 2: Coach his defense is, Terrible yeah, RIGHT i mean it's
[1:10:34] Speaker 2: the identity of Debor alabama's defense shell of itself what
[1:10:37] Speaker 2: it used to be offensive, team, Right, Oklahoma kirby like
[1:10:41] Speaker 2: those guys are defensive. Guys So kirby last night went
[1:10:44] Speaker 2: on the tirade Of, yeah we don't do checks here without.
[1:10:47] Speaker 2: Physicality it goes hand in. Hand so you're not just
[1:10:49] Speaker 2: getting getting the money and getting to check out and
[1:10:51] Speaker 2: run around and score. Touchdown that's not how like you're
[1:10:53] Speaker 2: getting screamed at. Here we're hitting. People we're hitting people.
[1:10:56] Speaker 2: Hard but that's who he, is AND i think it's
[1:10:58] Speaker 2: hard Like lane and so it's not really their. Thing
[1:11:01] Speaker 2: they want to score, points they want to go, fast
[1:11:03] Speaker 2: they want to make that's that's but that's who they.
[1:11:04] Speaker 2: ARE i don't EVEN i don't even blame. Them the
[1:11:07] Speaker 2: one thing you, Know sark really. Has their defense is
[1:11:10] Speaker 2: actually pretty. Good but he should recruit the cream of the,
[1:11:13] Speaker 2: crop like he can run What kirby has done At,
[1:11:16] Speaker 2: georgia What pete And urban have done And saban have,
[1:11:18] Speaker 2: Done like he gets to pick of the literate text
[1:11:20] Speaker 2: because they got the most money and people want to play.
[1:11:22] Speaker 1: There, YEAH i Think sark's. Good, again they can't Beat,
[1:11:25] Speaker 1: georgia AND i think there's a reason for. It what's
[1:11:29] Speaker 1: interesting Arch.
[1:11:30] Speaker 2: Arch let them down in moments this year and he's
[1:11:32] Speaker 2: he's gotten. Better it's taken them a little. While and
[1:11:35] Speaker 2: last night guys dropped balls early and but then as
[1:11:38] Speaker 2: the game went, on he started missing some guys and
[1:11:41] Speaker 2: their margin freer is.
[1:11:42] Speaker 1: SMALLER i will say this, though right, Now oklahoma has
[1:11:47] Speaker 1: a better identity Than texas, does AND i think that
[1:11:52] Speaker 1: Is that's What i've said ABOUT. Usc it's. Funny i've
[1:11:54] Speaker 1: been banging on USC's, culture and last night When lincoln,
[1:11:57] Speaker 1: won he went out and said that was a culture.
[1:11:59] Speaker 1: Win that was a culture win because he hears all
[1:12:01] Speaker 1: the criticisms that we know you're smart and a good offensive.
[1:12:03] Speaker 1: Coach we know you're a great play. Caller everybody knows
[1:12:06] Speaker 1: that With. LINCOLN i, mean they've been number one or.
[1:12:07] Speaker 1: Two they're number one in offense or number two on
[1:12:09] Speaker 1: offense this. Year that's even when they, lose they lose in,
[1:12:11] Speaker 1: shootouts except The Notre dame games have been tough for.
[1:12:14] Speaker 1: Them but he came out.
[1:12:17] Speaker 2: Twenty one ten in the rain at. Half it did
[1:12:19] Speaker 2: not feel.
[1:12:20] Speaker 1: Good, no it was. That by the, WAY i not
[1:12:23] Speaker 1: only had a good blazing five my only college pick
[1:12:26] Speaker 1: who was In. IOWA i thought it was just a
[1:12:30] Speaker 1: was it was just going to be a, close ugly.
[1:12:32] Speaker 1: Game but they. Won and NOW i don't THINK usc
[1:12:36] Speaker 1: matches up well With, oregon Although i'll tell YOU i
[1:12:40] Speaker 1: THINK usc thinks they match up. Well my problem is
[1:12:43] Speaker 1: that you can BEAT usc down the field throwing the,
[1:12:46] Speaker 1: ball and If oregon's healthy err at wide, receiver they'll
[1:12:50] Speaker 1: BEAT usc down the. Field That oregon's a big play.
[1:12:55] Speaker 1: OFFENSE usc gives up big. Plays they can be very
[1:12:59] Speaker 1: good in the red. Zone they've got excellent. Safeties When
[1:13:02] Speaker 1: bishop And Kamari ramsey are, healthy they ACTUALLY usc safety
[1:13:07] Speaker 1: is are. Pros Kamari ramsey's probably a second round. Guy
[1:13:10] Speaker 1: the other guy is probably a fifth round. Guy but
[1:13:14] Speaker 1: If Wyman jordan comes back to the running back FOR,
[1:13:16] Speaker 1: USC i think they'll move the ball a little. Bit
[1:13:18] Speaker 1: it'll be. Competitive BUT i Think oregon doesn't give up
[1:13:22] Speaker 1: a ton of big plays Under Dan lanning AND usc.
[1:13:26] Speaker 1: Does and that's the. Difference if it was AT, LA
[1:13:28] Speaker 1: i THINK i would think it was thirty three Thirty
[1:13:32] Speaker 1: you THINK usc has a.
[1:13:33] Speaker 2: SHOT i mean it was. HARD i MEAN i. WAS
[1:13:36] Speaker 2: i watched some of that game On friday night when
[1:13:38] Speaker 2: they were Playing minnesota and their backup tight. End it
[1:13:42] Speaker 2: was just A i, Mean oregon's got some.
[1:13:43] Speaker 1: Players their defensive line is got two first round, lineman.
[1:13:49] Speaker 2: They got two tight ends that just look like they
[1:13:52] Speaker 2: would catch seven balls On sunday. IMMEDIATELY i, mean it's just,
[1:13:55] Speaker 2: like where are they getting? Now they've been recruiting at
[1:13:57] Speaker 2: a really high level for a long. TIME i don't
[1:13:59] Speaker 2: think it's. TOUGH i also think you know that the
[1:14:01] Speaker 2: buzz On lincoln over the last like two weeks had
[1:14:05] Speaker 2: been like the program had finally kind of turned the.
[1:14:07] Speaker 2: Corner they've been winning some, games like is this guy gonna?
[1:14:09] Speaker 2: Leave some weird's going on like that there, was and
[1:14:12] Speaker 2: let's there's a lot of smoke out there with a
[1:14:14] Speaker 2: lot of these college Go i've heard things rumors About
[1:14:16] Speaker 2: Kaylin duboor just this is not a great. Fit i'm,
[1:14:20] Speaker 2: like where'd you? Go, LIKE i don't, Know Penn. State
[1:14:22] Speaker 2: they just it's just weird fit for, Him AND i
[1:14:25] Speaker 2: just think fit. Matters BUT i Think, lincoln YOU i
[1:14:28] Speaker 2: think you tweeted this. Out it's twice now in basically three.
[1:14:31] Speaker 2: Weeks The nebraska game when they missed the field, goal
[1:14:34] Speaker 2: he went, nuts and last night when they, won he
[1:14:37] Speaker 2: Went i've never seen him do that so twice this.
[1:14:40] Speaker 2: YEAR i think he feels the weight of the. World
[1:14:42] Speaker 2: how could you, not younger? Guy you take one hundred
[1:14:44] Speaker 2: and twenty million dollars first couple of years is just
[1:14:47] Speaker 2: weird this. YEAR i, MEAN i don't think they're that,
[1:14:50] Speaker 2: Talented so if they end up going nine and, THREE
[1:14:52] Speaker 2: i actually think he's done a pretty good. Job but
[1:14:54] Speaker 2: it does feel big picture like they're still watching some
[1:14:57] Speaker 2: of these top, teams like still pretty far away from
[1:15:00] Speaker 2: like there is a chance that they get i don't,
[1:15:02] Speaker 2: know blown out by twenty five points this. Weekend right
[1:15:05] Speaker 2: they KILLED.
[1:15:06] Speaker 1: I think they're going to have a hard time Stopping.
