[0:00] Speaker 1: We would like to acknowledge the treatitional custodians of the
[0:03] Speaker 1: land that this podcast is recorded on first step of
[0:06] Speaker 1: the month.
[0:06] Speaker 2: Grab those titties, girls, Grab the girls girls, It's time
[0:10] Speaker 2: to do a boob check?
[0:11] Speaker 1: Sure is? Are you doing it right now?
[0:13] Speaker 2: Right now? Feel yourself to I can't do it because
[0:16] Speaker 2: I've got foundation on my hand and a cream jumper. Yes,
[0:19] Speaker 2: so I shan't you shan't fond all myself. I could
[0:21] Speaker 2: go wonder I wanted to ask you and it's not.
[0:24] Speaker 1: You'll do it for me?
[0:25] Speaker 2: Like remember that time I waxed you a bikini line
[0:27] Speaker 2: for you? Yeah, because we were poor? Can you do
[0:29] Speaker 2: a boob check on me? Oh?
[0:30] Speaker 1: With pleasure? Okay? Good? Because like I feel like.
[0:33] Speaker 2: You're way more thorough and you understand it more, and
[0:37] Speaker 2: I think it's important that we have attention to detail
[0:39] Speaker 2: in this ERAa GP.
[0:40] Speaker 1: So can you do me after this?
[0:41] Speaker 2: Would happily? I feel, I reckon it'd be quite easy
[0:45] Speaker 2: to spot a lump on you. I don't know, I'm
[0:48] Speaker 2: quite is it under the armpits.
[0:49] Speaker 1: That feels tricky to feel through?
[0:52] Speaker 2: I just don't trust my type B. Yeah, I did it,
[0:55] Speaker 2: you know right, I'm getting older. Okay, I'll do an
[0:58] Speaker 2: exam after the pull dot to gem sounds good. Pashtag
[1:01] Speaker 2: not a doctor, Jim Death's not a docky, but let's
[1:04] Speaker 2: get into the Yes.
[1:06] Speaker 1: Start the episode.
[1:07] Speaker 2: We have a thousand things to do, but rather chat
[1:12] Speaker 2: to you with emails and meetings and husbands and kids.
[1:17] Speaker 1: We don't have time for this. Just what you need
[1:22] Speaker 1: to basic bitches with the podcast. Hello, and welcome to
[1:28] Speaker 1: We don't have time for this.
[1:29] Speaker 2: I'm your host, Jemmy Pernita aka Jemmy Peena on the
[1:32] Speaker 2: Gram along with my co.
[1:33] Speaker 1: Host Kate Graves Gang.
[1:35] Speaker 2: Have we noticed mustaches are back with a vengeance? And
[1:40] Speaker 2: how do we feel about That's what I'm gonna say you,
[1:41] Speaker 2: how do you feel about it? Because I feel like
[1:43] Speaker 2: they're one of the most divisive choices a man can
[1:46] Speaker 2: make with his look. I feel like anything that's a choice,
[1:51] Speaker 2: for example, a bob yes or a stash.
[1:54] Speaker 1: I think it's not for everyone. No, and some.
[1:57] Speaker 2: People really rocket and others on like what's coming on there?
[2:01] Speaker 1: Did you forget? Make another choice?
[2:03] Speaker 2: Make another choice. I love them across the board, blanket
[2:08] Speaker 2: pretty much across the board. I just would not like
[2:11] Speaker 2: it on my husband. Oh, yes, I can't imagine there
[2:14] Speaker 2: is a quirky, creative edge to a star.
[2:18] Speaker 1: It's giving.
[2:19] Speaker 2: I work in advertising, advertising pr barista.
[2:23] Speaker 1: Yes, you know sexy guy on hinge covered in tattoos.
[2:26] Speaker 2: Yes, slightly emo edge emo, No, disagree, No, it's a
[2:31] Speaker 2: great no emo.
[2:32] Speaker 1: No, Emo's more anemic.
[2:34] Speaker 2: Okay, like creative, cool cat, cool cat with a little
[2:36] Speaker 2: bit of quirk, but it's so much more mainstream that
[2:39] Speaker 2: it's not quirky anymore. Like, literally, anyone between the ages
[2:43] Speaker 2: of twenty five and thirty five has a mustache if
[2:45] Speaker 2: they're malen'.
[2:46] Speaker 1: You pe right. Yeah.
[2:48] Speaker 2: Look, so I can only use my husband as an
[2:50] Speaker 2: examples my yardstick.
[2:51] Speaker 1: I just feel like he would look a bit seedy.
[2:54] Speaker 2: Yeah, he's not really the demo, No, but he's got friends,
[2:59] Speaker 2: a rocking star, rock starshes okays.
[3:01] Speaker 1: It's a dad ye men? Yeah great.
[3:04] Speaker 2: Oh, we have a mutual friend who's had a stash
[3:06] Speaker 2: longer than they were cool. He's had one for a
[3:08] Speaker 2: long time and he rocks it. He rocks it.
[3:11] Speaker 1: But that's a real seventies dad vibe.
[3:13] Speaker 2: That's like I'm going to golf and then I'm going
[3:15] Speaker 2: to sink some beers and then I'll come home and
[3:17] Speaker 2: put on the barbie that it's a very AUSI stash. Yeah,
[3:21] Speaker 2: but he is creative, so yeah. I trying to imagine
[3:24] Speaker 2: Teddy and Iggy.
[3:27] Speaker 1: Blonde boys.
[3:29] Speaker 2: The blondes can't carry it off as well, And I
[3:31] Speaker 2: wonder if they'll have patchy facial hair growth as well,
[3:34] Speaker 2: because they might.
[3:35] Speaker 1: You know, their dads aren't like full bearded men. They're
[3:38] Speaker 1: not bearded men, so fascinating, fascinating.
[3:44] Speaker 2: Speaking of Iggy to segue for a second, I found
[3:48] Speaker 2: myself in a bit of a dilemma when it comes
[3:51] Speaker 2: to pocket money and chore money. Really pivoting here for
[3:54] Speaker 2: a second, but I just want to bring it to
[3:56] Speaker 2: the pod. I don't know if I made the right decision.
[3:58] Speaker 2: So basically, my kids have a chore chart, stick a chart,
[4:01] Speaker 2: whatever you want to call it. Each sticker is worth
[4:03] Speaker 2: fifty cents. By the end of the week they can
[4:05] Speaker 2: earn if they do everything correctly. I think about twelve
[4:08] Speaker 2: dollars fifty it's pretty good, not bad.
[4:10] Speaker 1: They never get there.
[4:11] Speaker 2: However, Eggy has really taken it upon himself to nail
[4:15] Speaker 2: his chores, and he saved twenty one dollars.
[4:19] Speaker 1: And I thought amazing. Wow.
[4:20] Speaker 2: Rap's the kind of kid who gets to the end
[4:22] Speaker 2: of the week with say, six dollars, and then she's like,
[4:24] Speaker 2: can I go to the newsagents and buy lollies every week?
[4:27] Speaker 2: And I'm like, I feels, I'm like sure, it burns
[4:29] Speaker 2: a hole in her fuckets.
[4:30] Speaker 1: Fine.
[4:30] Speaker 2: She didn't used to be that way, but lately she's
[4:32] Speaker 2: a bit instant gratification. Whereas Iggy, they fully switch. He's
[4:36] Speaker 2: on the save train and so he saved twenty one
[4:39] Speaker 2: dollars and he said, Mum, I want to go spend
[4:41] Speaker 2: my chore money. And I was like, great, let's go
[4:43] Speaker 2: to the mall. Your sister's got soccer training, we can
[4:45] Speaker 2: go to them all together. And I said, what do
[4:47] Speaker 2: you want to buy? And he said, really specifically, I
[4:50] Speaker 2: want the fee for World Cup soccer ball.
[4:53] Speaker 1: Oh honey, twenty one and fifty ain't going to do that.
[4:55] Speaker 2: Well, naive mother, nonsports mom, Oh no, not as deep
[4:59] Speaker 2: into it as Kate rev girl had no idea. And
[5:02] Speaker 2: I thought twenty bucks for a ball, no drama, not
[5:05] Speaker 2: for the FIFA branded fucking World Cup ball. Okay, I'm loan, sorry, sorry,
[5:08] Speaker 2: I'm loan, sorry, totally set. I'm gonna let you finish,
[5:12] Speaker 2: I now know. Well, first of all, we went to
[5:14] Speaker 2: Big w yep and sold out, went km up, sold out.
[5:17] Speaker 1: Well yeah, And I said.
[5:18] Speaker 2: To Eggs, I was like, I think we need to
[5:20] Speaker 2: pivot here because and he goes, no, no, no.
[5:22] Speaker 1: Somewhere's gotta have it.
[5:23] Speaker 3: And I thought, Rebel, Rebel always has it.
[5:25] Speaker 1: Well Rebel haven't. Yeah, Anyway, I went to Rebel. They
[5:27] Speaker 1: had it. They had five left. Oh the ball was
[5:31] Speaker 1: fifty bucks. Oh that's quite good, is it?
[5:34] Speaker 2: Oh?
[5:35] Speaker 1: I was expecting a lot more.
[5:36] Speaker 2: A standard ball is usually sixty dollars, and this is
[5:40] Speaker 2: a branded, licensed like special edition. Oh okay, Well, the
[5:43] Speaker 2: other balls in the pit at Rebel were kind of
[5:46] Speaker 2: about thirty forty bucks and this was fifty, which I thought,
[5:49] Speaker 2: it's like when you buy Disney branded licensed anything like that.
[5:52] Speaker 2: PFA is one of the biggest ips in the world. Right,
[5:55] Speaker 2: It's like the Dallas Cowboys, gotcha, right, So fifty is
[5:58] Speaker 2: reasonable because I thought.
[6:00] Speaker 1: Fifty dollars ball, I wish you'd gotten me one.
[6:02] Speaker 2: Oh sauce, yeah, had I know, But the problem was
[6:07] Speaker 2: he has twenty one dollars.
[6:08] Speaker 1: His heart sank, oh my god, and traped around the
[6:11] Speaker 1: wind Westfield.
[6:13] Speaker 2: Yeah. And then meanwhile ruff as soccer trainings and I'm
[6:16] Speaker 2: like this, we got to leave.
[6:17] Speaker 1: We gotta leave what we do.
[6:18] Speaker 2: And he's holding this ball and it's I've got to say,
[6:20] Speaker 2: I'm not a ball person, but this was an impressive
[6:23] Speaker 2: fucking ball. Like it's colorful, it's got hologram trim around
[6:26] Speaker 2: the colorful ball.
[6:27] Speaker 1: We're having a cultural moment.
[6:29] Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, my kids are really into it.
[6:31] Speaker 1: And I just looked at.
[6:32] Speaker 2: Him and he goes, oh, it's fifty dollars. I only
[6:35] Speaker 2: have twenty one dollars. And I was like yeah, and
[6:39] Speaker 2: he was trying to come up with solutions in his head.
[6:41] Speaker 2: I could see his brain ticking over. He wasn't going
[6:43] Speaker 2: to let go of this ball. And he's like, can
[6:45] Speaker 2: I give you back thirty dollars Kenny, lay by it,
[6:49] Speaker 2: Kenny after pay it at the Bank of.
[6:52] Speaker 1: Mark That's where we were at.
[6:53] Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, And I said, well, that means working off
[6:56] Speaker 2: your chore chart. Yeah, and you're not going to have
[6:58] Speaker 2: money at the end of that might take you a
[7:00] Speaker 2: few weeks. That money's going to go to me and
[7:02] Speaker 2: he goes, no, no, no, I want to pay you
[7:04] Speaker 2: back thirty dollars and I said, well, technically it's twenty
[7:06] Speaker 2: nine dollars that you own me. He goes, okay, I
[7:08] Speaker 2: want to pay you back. And I was like, are
[7:09] Speaker 2: you sure, buddy, because he's never done this before.
[7:12] Speaker 1: Never Okay, yeah, because you know me, I'm anti I know.
[7:15] Speaker 2: I was like, I'm like allergic to the idea of
[7:18] Speaker 2: owing people money. I costed someone recently where I was like,
[7:22] Speaker 2: what are your pay ID details and she's like, I
[7:24] Speaker 2: don't know. I don't think I have pay idea. I
[7:25] Speaker 2: was like, what's your bit. She's like, we'll sort out later.
[7:27] Speaker 2: I was like, no, we're going to sort this out now.
[7:29] Speaker 2: Fun at parties, that's me.
[7:31] Speaker 1: I'm your fun friends at parties.
[7:33] Speaker 2: I just don't want to walk away because it just
[7:35] Speaker 2: sometimes doesn't get done, the ADHD stress of it. It
[7:39] Speaker 2: becomes a task. Later it'll get and then I.
[7:41] Speaker 1: Want to close the tab. You want to close that
[7:43] Speaker 1: it will consume my night thoughts.
[7:44] Speaker 2: Yeah, thank you just letting you know, because you have, now,
[7:48] Speaker 2: at forty years old, an amazing track record. If you
[7:51] Speaker 2: forgot to pay me, or we didn't do it on
[7:53] Speaker 2: the spot or whatever, I would never be like, Jim
[7:55] Speaker 2: didn't pay me.
[7:56] Speaker 1: I think some people would because she always does. I
[7:59] Speaker 1: would have to let go. Oh Nick Jim didn't pay me.
[8:01] Speaker 1: I'm gonna have to remind her, and she's going to
[8:03] Speaker 1: be covered.
[8:03] Speaker 2: In shame, and I want her to know it's okay.
[8:06] Speaker 2: I know where she lives. She has a good track record,
[8:08] Speaker 2: and I know she forgot well. The thing about owing
[8:10] Speaker 2: people money, I feel like if you don't deal with
[8:13] Speaker 2: it in the moment, then.
[8:14] Speaker 1: It's stretched and sounds the thing.
[8:15] Speaker 2: It's a bit like this is how I am with
[8:17] Speaker 2: replying to text messages. You'll either hear from me immediately
[8:20] Speaker 2: or in a month's time. Fair there is no in between. Yes,
[8:23] Speaker 2: and it's awkward and I don't like this side of
[8:25] Speaker 2: my personality. And they usually start with I do confess
[8:28] Speaker 2: I forgot to and I'm like, it's okay, okay, you
[8:32] Speaker 2: got to it now.
[8:33] Speaker 1: Anyway to round out, I've given Iggy the opportunity.
[8:38] Speaker 2: I said, okay, you can pay me back twenty nine dollars,
[8:41] Speaker 2: And to my absolute surprise and delight, this morning, he
[8:44] Speaker 2: woke up before school, he made his bed, he got
[8:46] Speaker 2: dressed in his school uniform without asking, and he came
[8:49] Speaker 2: into my room and woke me up and he was like, hi, money,
[8:51] Speaker 2: and I was like, oh, you're dressed. He's like, yeah, well,
[8:53] Speaker 2: I've got to pay you back. So he hasn't kind
[8:55] Speaker 2: of taken the mick and god, oh, she says, I
[8:59] Speaker 2: got to pay you back whatevers.
[9:00] Speaker 1: I'm not motivated.
[9:01] Speaker 2: No, He's like, I need to pay this off quickly
[9:04] Speaker 2: so that I can earn my next keep again.
[9:06] Speaker 1: Like you've got track record, you've got form, you know.
[9:09] Speaker 1: I think it's good. It's a good lesson.
[9:11] Speaker 2: And then you can talk to him about it when
[9:12] Speaker 2: he gets the under and he's worked hard and not
[9:14] Speaker 2: nothing to show for it because he's got his ball.
[9:16] Speaker 1: But like, you know, it's good lessons. I just hope
[9:18] Speaker 1: he doesn't lose it, you know. Oh he will. He'll
[9:20] Speaker 1: kick it over a fence onto a roof or some
[9:22] Speaker 1: other kid will and it'll be devastating.
[9:24] Speaker 2: I know.
[9:25] Speaker 1: Yeah. Anyway, life lesson. It's funny.
[9:29] Speaker 2: He's got a best mate who was actually doing a
[9:31] Speaker 2: similar activity with his mum, spending his pocket money. They
[9:35] Speaker 2: had both had a similar amount because we shared stories
[9:37] Speaker 2: and she said, oh, my son's tight. He saw the
[9:40] Speaker 2: price of the ball and went not too expensive and
[9:43] Speaker 2: I was like, Oh, I wish he was a bit tight.
[9:46] Speaker 1: No, you don't before you do whatever. That's just my
[9:49] Speaker 1: personal judgment coming out.
[9:51] Speaker 2: Like it is really really interesting when they start to
[9:54] Speaker 2: show their personalities in this way and some of its
[9:56] Speaker 2: nature and some of its fucking nurture.
[9:58] Speaker 1: My daughter, I don't think she's ever.
[10:00] Speaker 2: She has sorry, she has spent twenty eight dollars of
[10:03] Speaker 2: money she's in. I know that because she bought an
[10:05] Speaker 2: Awala water bottle because she wanted one so badly, and
[10:08] Speaker 2: I was like, no, I'm not buying another fucking water bottle.
[10:10] Speaker 1: She's like, I'll buy it. And I was like, are
[10:12] Speaker 1: you sure?
[10:13] Speaker 2: Because her savings is like her whole over a brand
[10:17] Speaker 2: over two grand. Now, yeah, that literally eight bucks would
[10:20] Speaker 2: have put a dent in her two.
[10:21] Speaker 1: I was like, oh, then I'll be under two thousand dollars.
[10:24] Speaker 2: Because like, you know, she's really saved, and she's going
[10:27] Speaker 2: to be the kind of like she's gonna buy herself
[10:29] Speaker 2: a car and she finishes school. You know, she's gonna
[10:31] Speaker 2: be that kind of girl. And I'm like, wow, who
[10:33] Speaker 2: made you? Not me?
[10:34] Speaker 1: But there's also the.
[10:35] Speaker 2: Other extreme where you might have to work with Eiler
[10:38] Speaker 2: I'm thinking ahead with all different money personalities where she's
[10:41] Speaker 2: the kind of person who will sit with bags of
[10:43] Speaker 2: money under the bed and never spend it. And sometimes
[10:45] Speaker 2: there's positive debt and you've got to learn that sometimes
[10:49] Speaker 2: you can spend and you don't have to agonize over it.
[10:52] Speaker 1: Yes, and money is a tool. It doesn't say anything
[10:54] Speaker 1: about who you are.
[10:55] Speaker 2: It shouldn't be emotional. It's not emotional, it is it
[10:58] Speaker 2: can be, yeah, but it's a tool to get you
[11:00] Speaker 2: the life you want, you know. Yeah, that's gonna be
[11:03] Speaker 2: a really interesting journey. Yeah, where sometimes she might starve
[11:06] Speaker 2: herself of things that she actually wants, yeah, just can't
[11:09] Speaker 2: bring herself.
[11:10] Speaker 1: To spend it.
[11:10] Speaker 2: And then also it's like, well you got to invest money, Yeah,
[11:13] Speaker 2: just sit on it and make it work for you.
[11:14] Speaker 1: All that stuff that anyway, that's a good problem to have.
[11:17] Speaker 2: Sure, And then ted get a fucking job, move move
[11:21] Speaker 2: back from Guatemala and get a job.
[11:25] Speaker 1: Being a street artist isn't a real job, but it is.
[11:28] Speaker 2: It is.
[11:28] Speaker 1: Go Teddy, go Teddy. Do you know what I don't
[11:30] Speaker 1: have time for? What don't you have time for?
[11:32] Speaker 2: Bestieh long distance relationship? I can just imagine I do
[11:37] Speaker 2: have time for it obviously, but.
[11:38] Speaker 1: I need to ask you.
[11:40] Speaker 2: I need your sage experience and wisdom. How Yeah, look,
[11:44] Speaker 2: I'm not gonna lie. I knew your guy was moving
[11:47] Speaker 2: to New York, and Diel's will know.
[11:50] Speaker 1: I'm in a fifo fifo whatever the fuck it is.
[11:53] Speaker 2: We're both five pH now you're long distance, You're not
[11:56] Speaker 2: five fo. He's not home every Friday. He is not
[12:00] Speaker 2: not gone for two weeks. No, like he's gone. He's
[12:03] Speaker 2: gone indefinitely, and you're visiting him, which is great. But
[12:06] Speaker 2: I knew from personal experience, because my husband spends a
[12:09] Speaker 2: lot of time in the US, that that time zone
[12:13] Speaker 2: sucks a bag of dicks, really does. It's so challenging
[12:17] Speaker 2: because you bookenned each other's days with a catch art.
[12:21] Speaker 2: But often someone's going into their day so they're in
[12:24] Speaker 2: a rush to get on with their day, while the
[12:25] Speaker 2: other one's like, I'm going to bed and I have
[12:28] Speaker 2: time to chat.
[12:29] Speaker 1: Yeah, but someone's always tired.
[12:31] Speaker 2: Yeah, always, because it's you've either just woken up or
[12:34] Speaker 2: it's like you've waited up late to chat.
[12:36] Speaker 1: And then you're getting tired. Yeah, it's time to go
[12:38] Speaker 1: to bed.
[12:39] Speaker 2: Silver linings, because you're dealing with New York. I will
[12:42] Speaker 2: say from experience, it's slightly better than LA.
[12:44] Speaker 1: Oh I've heard this. LA is brutal.
[12:47] Speaker 2: Yeah, because it's four am versus ten pm, where it's
[12:51] Speaker 2: late for one but the other's not quite ready to
[12:53] Speaker 2: wake up.
[12:54] Speaker 1: It really doesn't work. But yeah, so that's how you
[12:56] Speaker 1: guys going.
[12:57] Speaker 2: It's going well, Like we're doing really well actually, but
[13:00] Speaker 2: it takes a commitment, you know.
[13:02] Speaker 1: And what my worry is, my life's established.
[13:05] Speaker 2: I can make space in my life for the time
[13:08] Speaker 2: and to make like a FaceTime date, right, But he's
[13:11] Speaker 2: like setting up in a new place and I don't
[13:13] Speaker 2: want to take any time from him to like go
[13:16] Speaker 2: out and do.
[13:17] Speaker 1: That, right.
[13:17] Speaker 2: Yeah, And he's got to take social opportunities, he's got
[13:20] Speaker 2: to make friends.
[13:22] Speaker 1: Is crucial, Yeah, for helping you settle.
[13:25] Speaker 2: They say it takes at least six months to settle
[13:27] Speaker 2: in to a new place that you live in, and
[13:29] Speaker 2: you've got to put in the effort.
[13:30] Speaker 1: Yeah. But remember we're like a fresh relash.
[13:33] Speaker 2: We're fresh, so we're not maintaining something that's like, you know, established, established.
[13:38] Speaker 2: It's like we're still like getting to know each other,
[13:41] Speaker 2: growing it, learning about each other, like we're dating. We're dating,
[13:44] Speaker 2: but we're dating. My boyfriend's in my phone. It's like
[13:47] Speaker 2: I have to give I have a tama gotchi. I
[13:51] Speaker 2: have to water and feed it, emotionally nurture it. Yeah,
[13:54] Speaker 2: which I want to, you know. Like that's the good
[13:56] Speaker 2: thing about us being fresh is like I'm like, ooh,
[13:58] Speaker 2: my tamagotchi's awake, you know, but like it is, Wow,
[14:02] Speaker 2: I've never experienced anything like this. It's so different, just
[14:06] Speaker 2: so different, and I can really see how it's both
[14:10] Speaker 2: so much more intense than like if you were dating
[14:12] Speaker 2: someone and you're seeing them twice a week in the
[14:15] Speaker 2: early stages. Well, I think the beautiful thing about long
[14:18] Speaker 2: distance is you get deeper faster because all you have
[14:24] Speaker 2: is communication and chat, verbal communication chat. There's no physical
[14:28] Speaker 2: time together. I don't just mean intimacy. But even if
[14:31] Speaker 2: you were together, you might go and do things together.
[14:33] Speaker 2: See a show, go to the movies, have go for look. Yeah,
[14:36] Speaker 2: I don't know, kayak at sunrise whatever.
[14:38] Speaker 1: Is your shore? Not me, but sure people do.
[14:41] Speaker 2: But you share and experiences and sometimes it doesn't always
[14:45] Speaker 2: elicit a deep conversation because you're busy doing the life together. Yeah,
[14:50] Speaker 2: but when it's just long distance. All you have is chat,
[14:53] Speaker 2: All you have is comms, and the only place there
[14:56] Speaker 2: is to go is somewhere deep. Otherwise it's really shallow
[14:59] Speaker 2: chat and that's boring for and I know you well
[15:01] Speaker 2: enough to know that that's not satiating enough. And also
[15:04] Speaker 2: you feel a bit like when it is the light,
[15:06] Speaker 2: so what did you do today? You know, it's a
[15:08] Speaker 2: bit like, yeah, it's like, well, I ate this for
[15:10] Speaker 2: breakfast exactly. The good thing is my work day is
[15:14] Speaker 2: so great because he's asleep, you know, so deficient.
[15:17] Speaker 1: I'm like getting everything. That's fantastic.
[15:20] Speaker 2: It actually suits me so much more than a boyfriend
[15:23] Speaker 2: who could annoy me during the day in the day,
[15:26] Speaker 2: you know, So that's good. But also I find the
[15:28] Speaker 2: morning hard. I think we both find my morning hard
[15:31] Speaker 2: and his evening. Yeah, because it's like I like to
[15:33] Speaker 2: get up and get the day, you know, and it's
[15:36] Speaker 2: nice to check in and all that stuff, but you
[15:37] Speaker 2: really like when you've got kids making lunches and getting
[15:40] Speaker 2: dressed and out the door and to work and the
[15:41] Speaker 2: dog and all that stuff, like it is hard to
[15:44] Speaker 2: I can't give that time, hard to carve out that space.
[15:46] Speaker 2: It's not good time, it'd be like, yeah, yeah, you
[15:48] Speaker 2: can come rush around with me. I guess on FaceTime,
[15:51] Speaker 2: but I'm present, I'm not present, and I'm like juggling
[15:54] Speaker 2: and doing it.
[15:54] Speaker 1: Yeah, it's tricky. So when is the best.
[15:56] Speaker 2: Time, Well, I guess my evening. His morning again, he
[16:00] Speaker 2: is a performer, so he has like a very disciplined
[16:03] Speaker 2: morning that he does with his craft.
[16:06] Speaker 1: No that's a terrible word.
[16:07] Speaker 2: No, but his routine, his routine where he's got to
[16:09] Speaker 2: sing and stretch and you know, do all that stuff.
[16:12] Speaker 2: So like, as this episode goes out, I'm in New
[16:14] Speaker 2: York hopefully there, so you know it will be really fascinating.
[16:18] Speaker 2: But do you know what I mean, it's the little things,
[16:20] Speaker 2: like we don't have time to sit in silence together,
[16:24] Speaker 2: you know. Yeah, it's those little things, those things that
[16:27] Speaker 2: build the life, you know stuff. Yeah, we're not like
[16:30] Speaker 2: making food together or like doing that or driving somewhere
[16:34] Speaker 2: or you know, there's those in between spaces where you
[16:36] Speaker 2: sort of feel like you're in the relationship. Yeah, we're
[16:39] Speaker 2: very much in the emotional relationship, but I like, hopefully
[16:43] Speaker 2: I'm there right now. They're like they're actual just like
[16:45] Speaker 2: moving around together in the world.
[16:47] Speaker 1: Well, you'll get that fix.
[16:49] Speaker 2: I mean, there's no more romantic city, in my opinion
[16:52] Speaker 2: than I agree. You dated in New York, Yeah, your husband.
[16:57] Speaker 2: That was the origins of my relationship with heart. You're
[17:00] Speaker 2: on new here. You have to have a little catch
[17:02] Speaker 2: up with this story. Well, hubs and I did long distance.
[17:06] Speaker 2: I mean, if we want to go deeper into the context,
[17:08] Speaker 2: he and I met when we were eleven years old.
[17:10] Speaker 1: You met everyone when you were eleven.
[17:12] Speaker 2: Well, because I moved to Australia at that age, in
[17:15] Speaker 2: ninety seven, moved to Australia.
[17:16] Speaker 1: He was born next door. We were friends for years.
[17:18] Speaker 1: Blah blah blah blah blah.
[17:19] Speaker 2: Anyway, when we were twenty eight years old, I was
[17:22] Speaker 2: living in la he was living in New York.
[17:24] Speaker 1: We found ourselves both single, and we start I.
[17:26] Speaker 2: Was shooting a film in New York for two weeks,
[17:30] Speaker 2: and yeah, we started dating. And it was so romantic
[17:33] Speaker 2: and it was so fun, and we booked hotels, we
[17:36] Speaker 2: were kissing on street corners, we were staying up till
[17:39] Speaker 2: two three am when the restaurant, I'll remember a very
[17:42] Speaker 2: vivid memory of being in this little like tequila bar
[17:45] Speaker 2: and they were putting the stools up on the bar
[17:47] Speaker 2: around us, and we were like, oh, we're still here.
[17:50] Speaker 1: No one wants to leave each other.
[17:52] Speaker 2: Yeah, And we have the fondest memories of New York
[17:54] Speaker 2: and have grand plans and dreams one day when our
[17:57] Speaker 2: kids are older to go back, and not for them,
[17:59] Speaker 2: but for us. Have this kind of nostalgia walk down
[18:02] Speaker 2: memory lane. And bike and I went ice skating together
[18:05] Speaker 2: in Central Park and we went to the Rockefeller's Center
[18:08] Speaker 2: and saw the Christmas Tree.
[18:09] Speaker 1: Like all the city is a movie.
[18:11] Speaker 2: It's more than Paris for the robe, like because there's
[18:16] Speaker 2: so much happening.
[18:17] Speaker 1: It's such a vibrant like it's like a casino.
[18:21] Speaker 2: It's intoxicating. I swear that it's a beautiful casino totally. Yeah,
[18:25] Speaker 2: But what I mean is the oxygen's difference.
[18:27] Speaker 1: Yeah, you feel alive. It's electric.
[18:30] Speaker 2: The smells like you know, there's like rats running down
[18:33] Speaker 2: the street, you're like riding the subway.
[18:35] Speaker 1: It just it's a lie.
[18:36] Speaker 2: It's because everybody in New York is there for a reason. Yes,
[18:40] Speaker 2: no one's like, well, people shore people are born and
[18:42] Speaker 2: raised whatever New York is, but like the majority, the
[18:44] Speaker 2: majority of people have come there from somewhere else to
[18:48] Speaker 2: do something, and it's got that energy of it. It
[18:51] Speaker 2: actually encapsulates year of the horse energy it does. You reckon,
[18:55] Speaker 2: it's got horsepower behind it does have horsepower in New
[18:59] Speaker 2: York City. Well, I hope you're having the best I
[19:01] Speaker 2: hope I'm having the best time ever. I'm sure you are.
[19:05] Speaker 2: How could you not. I've been to New York. This
[19:07] Speaker 2: is my thirteenth trip to New York.
[19:10] Speaker 3: And always on your heart home, I know.
[19:12] Speaker 2: And I think that's what's making this a lot easier
[19:15] Speaker 2: for me, is that, like I always thought I would
[19:17] Speaker 2: live in New York.
[19:18] Speaker 1: I did.
[19:19] Speaker 2: I was like, oh, I'll live here, I'll live here
[19:20] Speaker 2: one day. And then life happened and I absolutely didn't
[19:23] Speaker 2: live there. And every single time I've been I haven't
[19:26] Speaker 2: had a bad day.
[19:27] Speaker 1: I've never wanted to leave, Like you know, and I
[19:29] Speaker 1: sometimes you go.
[19:29] Speaker 2: Back to a place you went once You're like, oh
[19:31] Speaker 2: it wasn't as great that time, or oh the shine
[19:34] Speaker 2: came off, or maybe it's because I was younger or whatever,
[19:36] Speaker 2: but that city, like I've never wanted to leave. That's it.
[19:39] Speaker 1: Leaving is going to be fucked. I'm not looking to
[19:42] Speaker 1: that saying goodbye again for I'm glad you've got the
[19:46] Speaker 1: show to look. Oh my god, it's the best timing ever.
[19:48] Speaker 2: And we're diving straight into rains to distract you a
[19:52] Speaker 2: little bit. I'll be asked, whooping you? Oh good studio?
[19:55] Speaker 2: Oh my god, dancing dancing again? Guys, I'm mental pain
[19:59] Speaker 2: already just thinking about it. Oh, I know, terms like mine,
[20:03] Speaker 2: no now, five, six, seven, eight? Well, you know, but
[20:07] Speaker 2: what did you do when you did long distance?
[20:09] Speaker 1: Yeah? What did you do to like?
[20:12] Speaker 2: Did you have little rules and things to make it doable?
[20:14] Speaker 2: I think like all the things that people tell you,
[20:17] Speaker 2: like cook the.
[20:17] Speaker 1: Same meal at the same time, Like.
[20:19] Speaker 2: No, god, no, no, we never did that, I think
[20:24] Speaker 2: from memory. So we did twelve months coast to coast.
[20:28] Speaker 2: He could only come out to visit me in LA
[20:30] Speaker 2: for a weekend.
[20:32] Speaker 1: It was brutal.
[20:32] Speaker 2: He would fly in like Friday night, and he would
[20:35] Speaker 2: get the red eye on Sunday and roll straight into
[20:39] Speaker 2: work off the back of a five hour flight.
[20:41] Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, because La New York.
[20:43] Speaker 2: It doesn't sound that far, but actually it's like it's
[20:48] Speaker 2: horrendous and just enough time zone shift to feel fucked,
[20:51] Speaker 2: but not enough to flip it on its head.
[20:53] Speaker 1: It was so brutal.
[20:54] Speaker 2: For Hubs, whereas I had more flexibility. So when I
[20:58] Speaker 2: would go visit him in York, like you revs love
[21:01] Speaker 2: the city of it, enchanted by it. So I would
[21:03] Speaker 2: do two weeks stints. Yeah, nice, and you could do
[21:06] Speaker 2: what you were doing from there.
[21:08] Speaker 1: Absolutely.
[21:08] Speaker 2: I could do self tapes for auditions in New York.
[21:11] Speaker 1: It wasn't easy.
[21:12] Speaker 2: I didn't have a reader, so I had to be
[21:13] Speaker 2: my own reader, which meant recording the other person's lines
[21:16] Speaker 2: and leading gaps like it wasn't ideal, But I had time.
[21:19] Speaker 1: Yeah, So I.
[21:21] Speaker 2: Would hang out in his apartment on Bleak History and
[21:24] Speaker 2: do my auditions in the day and then have dinner.
[21:28] Speaker 1: He was on Blea Street.
[21:29] Speaker 2: He had a shoe box apartment in Bleaker Street.
[21:33] Speaker 1: When you're young, you don't care.
[21:35] Speaker 2: Hubs he had such bachelor energy. Where his oven he
[21:39] Speaker 2: used I'm not even kidding as a bookshelf.
[21:42] Speaker 1: He stored books.
[21:44] Speaker 2: Hubs is a big reader. In his oven. I found
[21:47] Speaker 2: it so weird. And his bedroom was so tiny that
[21:50] Speaker 2: his bed was up against the windows. It was you
[21:53] Speaker 2: could only fit a double bed in the corner, and
[21:56] Speaker 2: then you had little space to walk around. He had
[21:58] Speaker 2: a chest of draw was that you could barely open,
[22:01] Speaker 2: like you'd have to sit on the bed.
[22:02] Speaker 1: Basically the bed was the room. Oh my god.
[22:06] Speaker 2: But he had that charming New York window where you
[22:09] Speaker 2: lifted up in the fire stairwell is right there escape
[22:13] Speaker 2: yeah exacting, So yeah, No, it was fun. We'd get bagels.
[22:17] Speaker 2: The whole thing was very romantic and lovely. But I
[22:19] Speaker 2: do think for us, we never cooked dinner in different
[22:22] Speaker 2: time zones. It just didn't work because there's a time
[22:25] Speaker 2: difference between LA and New York US. It was just texts, yeah,
[22:29] Speaker 2: check in. Like we just were constantly texting and checking
[22:33] Speaker 2: in with each other, and we would see like, so
[22:36] Speaker 2: you're in New York now, I know you're planning to
[22:37] Speaker 2: go again after tour, potentially in January. I feel like
[22:42] Speaker 2: that's enough time to get your fixed. It's like Hubs
[22:45] Speaker 2: and I have this rule where we don't finish our
[22:47] Speaker 2: holiday without booking our next holiday.
[22:49] Speaker 1: Even if that holiday is a year away. It doesn't matter.
[22:53] Speaker 2: We've made We're not saying goodbye before we have another
[22:56] Speaker 2: date to reunited. I think that's the only way you
[22:59] Speaker 2: can't with a sense of indefiniteness of like, oh when
[23:03] Speaker 2: will we see each other, we'll.
[23:04] Speaker 1: Work it out. Yeah, it's got to be locked in. Yeah.
[23:06] Speaker 2: I think this is not for the insecure. That's what
[23:09] Speaker 2: I'm learning about this whole situation. You have to be
[23:12] Speaker 2: so fucking secure, And I have so many moments where
[23:15] Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, okay, I feel insecure. No, and I
[23:18] Speaker 2: have to talk to myself and be like, you are
[23:20] Speaker 2: a secure woman with an established life. Man, you are okay,
[23:24] Speaker 2: you know, like there's a lot of that you have
[23:26] Speaker 2: to do otherwise I can see how people would end
[23:28] Speaker 2: up crazy in this scenario where you're like, you don't
[23:31] Speaker 2: know what's happening their life over there. You don't know
[23:33] Speaker 2: these people. Who's that person you've just met, who's this
[23:36] Speaker 2: you know? What's this job? When's it going to be?
[23:38] Speaker 2: What does that mean for when we can talk? You know,
[23:40] Speaker 2: you could get so needy so quickly. Anyway, what's good
[23:43] Speaker 2: that you're.
[23:44] Speaker 1: Aware of that. Yeah, I feel like checking in with yourself.
[23:47] Speaker 2: He's done long distance before, which is like, well, it's
[23:50] Speaker 2: its own thing, you know, because obviously that didn't work out,
[23:53] Speaker 2: but like he had apprehension he did, but he's got experience,
[23:56] Speaker 2: Whereas I'm like, oh, wow, okay, this is real like
[23:59] Speaker 2: what people will say about this, but I feel like
[24:01] Speaker 2: I'm in a good place in my life, as in,
[24:03] Speaker 2: I am secure, I have my own life. I have
[24:05] Speaker 2: a lot of shit going on. I'm not like waiting
[24:07] Speaker 2: by a phone. But man, it's not for the fainthearted.
[24:10] Speaker 2: You've got this, bestI.
[24:12] Speaker 1: Yeah, thank you for supporting our podcast by listening to
[24:14] Speaker 1: this ad.
[24:15] Speaker 2: You know what I don't have time for. What don't
[24:16] Speaker 2: you have time for, bestie? I don't have time for crystals?
[24:20] Speaker 1: Crystals? Yeah, what did crystals ever do to you? Well,
[24:23] Speaker 1: let me tell yeah, I love a crystals. I love
[24:25] Speaker 1: a crystal.
[24:25] Speaker 2: Well for context, Okay, you're not thinking of the crystals
[24:29] Speaker 2: that I'm thinking of, or I've become educated by so
[24:32] Speaker 2: DL's this is going to be the weirdest health update
[24:35] Speaker 2: ither those crystals?
[24:37] Speaker 1: Correct? bestI?
[24:38] Speaker 2: So, I have been dealing with some bizarre health scares,
[24:42] Speaker 2: nothing crazy, No I can thank for them. I've had
[24:45] Speaker 2: blood tests, I've had all sorts of testing done, so
[24:48] Speaker 2: I'm good. But what I had been experiencing what I
[24:51] Speaker 2: can only describe as feeling drunk whilst experiencing vertigo and
[24:57] Speaker 2: feeling like you're gonna faint, you know, revs and I
[25:00] Speaker 2: recorded a pod episode in here and I literally out
[25:02] Speaker 2: of nowhere. I had to rip my headphones off and
[25:04] Speaker 2: put my head between my knees because I thought I
[25:06] Speaker 2: was going to.
[25:06] Speaker 1: Hit the deck.
[25:07] Speaker 2: And then for ages, I was blaming it on the perry. Yeah,
[25:10] Speaker 2: I thought maybe it was a hyperglycemic attack. But that
[25:12] Speaker 2: day I had plenty of sugar. Yeah, I had more sugar.
[25:14] Speaker 1: I didn't feel better.
[25:15] Speaker 2: So it turns out I have, wait for it, dislodged
[25:19] Speaker 2: crystals in my inner ear.
[25:22] Speaker 1: Yeah. I was relieved that that was it. Yes, it
[25:25] Speaker 1: was getting a little dicey. I was like, what's going on?
[25:27] Speaker 1: Gems having to pull over her car? I did. She's
[25:30] Speaker 1: like not feeling herself, she's had these headaches. I was
[25:33] Speaker 1: getting a little worried.
[25:34] Speaker 2: Well, yeah, I was driving my car and I couldn't
[25:36] Speaker 2: read the number plate in front of me, and I
[25:38] Speaker 2: was like, oh, I need to pull over. I don't
[25:40] Speaker 2: feel safe behind a wheel. So that kind of shit
[25:43] Speaker 2: was going down. But like what in the woo woo
[25:46] Speaker 2: diagnosis were at all?
[25:47] Speaker 1: It's science?
[25:49] Speaker 3: Oh I know, but like I love that someone went, let's.
[25:53] Speaker 2: Call them in a ear crystals because they like that
[25:56] Speaker 2: they're like stealic types.
[25:57] Speaker 1: Well, they're actually more.
[25:58] Speaker 2: Like grains of sand from the research I've done, because
[26:03] Speaker 2: I was like, who named them?
[26:04] Speaker 1: Crystals? In my head?
[26:05] Speaker 2: They're so pretty, it's so glamorous. I've got cute dislodge
[26:09] Speaker 2: crystals in my inner ear.
[26:10] Speaker 1: You know, we're made of stardust, right, like.
[26:12] Speaker 2: Actually, well I believe in the Big Bang, So yes,
[26:14] Speaker 2: I believe we are made of stardust.
[26:16] Speaker 3: But it's just so cute that I couldn't take.
[26:18] Speaker 2: The diagnosis seriously. And when it saw my legit GP.
[26:23] Speaker 2: Sorry just for people who listened to a couple of
[26:25] Speaker 2: EPs ago. It's way better than platelets. Platelets, your platelets
[26:30] Speaker 2: and your crystals.
[26:31] Speaker 1: I knowlts dislodge all the cute things.
[26:35] Speaker 2: And when I saw my GP, she was actually doing
[26:38] Speaker 2: a stroke test on me, which I passed with flying colors.
[26:41] Speaker 1: And then she said.
[26:42] Speaker 2: Oh, you've got dislodged crystals in your ear, And I
[26:45] Speaker 2: was like, sorry, is that a joke? What's the cure?
[26:49] Speaker 2: Do I wish upon a fairy you get that fixed?
[26:53] Speaker 2: And she goes, no, no, no, it's a thing. And you
[26:55] Speaker 2: know she wasn't at my level.
[26:56] Speaker 1: You know, when you make jokes.
[26:58] Speaker 2: When she gets awkward and they're so soace and serious
[27:01] Speaker 2: and get this revs. The cure for it is a
[27:04] Speaker 2: maneuver called the Epley maneuver. The Epley Epley maneuver. Well
[27:09] Speaker 2: you love a maneuver? Well again, I was like, what
[27:12] Speaker 2: do you mean? I need to go and have a
[27:14] Speaker 2: maneuver performed on me to lodge the crystals in my
[27:18] Speaker 2: inner ear back into place. And she said, yeah, you
[27:21] Speaker 2: will do the Epply maneuver.
[27:22] Speaker 1: How did you dislodge them? Do they know? No, it's
[27:24] Speaker 1: not like you're like flipping around. Maybe it's your dance class.
[27:27] Speaker 2: Flip head could happily easily put it down to that
[27:32] Speaker 2: exercises does dance class once dislodges her crystals. Fun fact,
[27:36] Speaker 2: the crystals just gop just with the crystals in our
[27:40] Speaker 2: inner ear actually are designed to move like sand, and
[27:44] Speaker 2: it's your equilibrium.
[27:45] Speaker 1: It's what maintains your balance.
[27:47] Speaker 2: Yeah, what helps you understand what up from down is
[27:51] Speaker 2: all of That's why when you're underwater you lose your orientation.
[27:54] Speaker 2: But on land, it's your inner ear crystals, it's your
[27:57] Speaker 2: spirit level. Correct for the trades among us or trade
[28:01] Speaker 2: it's yeah, so mine have fallen out of whack. They've
[28:04] Speaker 2: been dislodged. That's why they don't work. So anyway, I
[28:06] Speaker 2: went and got this eply maneuver done.
[28:09] Speaker 1: Oh my god. And it's just with a physiotherapist.
[28:11] Speaker 2: You have to find a particular physiotherapist who can perform it.
[28:15] Speaker 1: And it's the weirdest thing.
[28:16] Speaker 2: They like throw you down on a bed with your
[28:18] Speaker 2: head turned in one direction and it's got to be
[28:20] Speaker 2: like a quick it's a whole thing. And then I
[28:22] Speaker 2: had homework. Anyway, happy to say crystals are back in
[28:26] Speaker 2: place a great and I don't feel drunk and like
[28:30] Speaker 2: the world is spinning, and that I have fallen.
[28:32] Speaker 1: Very glad to hear that.
[28:33] Speaker 2: I was worried for you with tour coming up, say,
[28:35] Speaker 2: I was like, imagine getting that on stage. That would
[28:38] Speaker 2: be terrifying. You'd be in the orchestra pit, fucking aot horrendous. Now,
[28:42] Speaker 2: if anyone's experienced vertigo, it is debilitated, it's not okay.
[28:46] Speaker 2: Your natural instinct is to hug the ground because you
[28:49] Speaker 2: just feel like you're going to keel over, and that
[28:52] Speaker 2: on stage would be terrible. I would end up in
[28:54] Speaker 2: the orchestra pit or front row audience, which would not
[28:57] Speaker 2: be a vibe. But I'm relieved and it's that and
[29:00] Speaker 2: it's solvable and it's fixable. Funnily enough, I called my
[29:03] Speaker 2: mum and I said, Mom, you won't believe this, but
[29:05] Speaker 2: I've been diagnosed with dislodged crystals in my inner ear.
[29:08] Speaker 2: And Mum goes, oh, the first time I got that
[29:11] Speaker 2: was in my forties and I've had it every ten
[29:14] Speaker 2: years since she recently had it. Yes, I forgot because
[29:18] Speaker 2: I just sort of went, oh, yeah, she's got a
[29:19] Speaker 2: bit of vertigo and that, yeah, she got that eplane.
[29:22] Speaker 1: You can't.
[29:22] Speaker 2: The thing about things like vertigoes, you can't keep going,
[29:24] Speaker 2: you know, you can't like soldier on, like it's gonna
[29:27] Speaker 2: take you down.
[29:28] Speaker 1: It's so debilitating. It's awful.
[29:30] Speaker 2: My stepmom gets vertigo same dislodge crystals all the time,
[29:33] Speaker 2: and it absolutely takes it down. It's really awful. And
[29:37] Speaker 2: my sisters had it.
[29:38] Speaker 1: Oh really Yeah.
[29:39] Speaker 2: I think we were relieved that it was not related
[29:41] Speaker 2: to her ms, but just yeah, and you just feel
[29:43] Speaker 2: completely out of control, like you can't get doing life.
[29:45] Speaker 1: It's awful.
[29:46] Speaker 2: Well, DL's just want to share this with you almost
[29:49] Speaker 2: as a PSA. If you're feeling vertigo and drunk and
[29:52] Speaker 2: it's coming and going in waves and you're.
[29:53] Speaker 1: Like, what the fuck is going on?
[29:55] Speaker 2: Crystals might be out, which yeah, hey, question, did you
[29:58] Speaker 2: charge them while they were out?
[30:00] Speaker 1: Did you put them under the full moon? You did? It?
[30:03] Speaker 2: Was?
[30:03] Speaker 1: She's looking at me with the Blanca stair.
[30:05] Speaker 2: Your crystals were out during the full moon's that's probably
[30:08] Speaker 2: gonna bow very well.
[30:10] Speaker 1: Well, let's see next few months. That would be great. Actually,
[30:13] Speaker 1: you need some crystal luck, you know what.
[30:15] Speaker 2: I know, this isn't the point of what you brought
[30:17] Speaker 2: this conversation for. But crystals and little witchy rituals are
[30:20] Speaker 2: so fun with kids. Feel free to expand on it. Well,
[30:24] Speaker 2: like you know the two fairries. Fine, sound is fine.
[30:27] Speaker 2: The easter Buddy's fine. But have you ever charged your
[30:29] Speaker 2: crystals under a full.
[30:30] Speaker 1: Moon and made moonwater? Have you? No? It? Iss? I
[30:33] Speaker 1: have not one? Okay, skeptic.
[30:35] Speaker 2: What's the difference between a buddy came and left chocolate
[30:38] Speaker 2: eggs around and let's make moonwater and have a great month.
[30:41] Speaker 1: Great here for it.
[30:42] Speaker 2: Yeah, it's so fun. You know what moonwater is. I
[30:45] Speaker 2: don't educate me. You just put out your crystals to
[30:48] Speaker 2: charge them under the full moon, ye, and you put
[30:50] Speaker 2: out glasses of water and we put a little.
[30:52] Speaker 1: Label Teddy mom Buster. We do Busters bowl water as well. Yeah,
[30:57] Speaker 1: and we charge up our moonwater.
[30:58] Speaker 3: And then in the morning, like the kids, it's so psyched.
[31:00] Speaker 1: We gotta drink our moon water. So you drink it.
[31:02] Speaker 1: You drink it.
[31:03] Speaker 2: What if a bug's in it, Well, bug's not in it, you.
[31:06] Speaker 1: Scoop it out. The bug is blessed. That's good protein,
[31:09] Speaker 1: protein and blessed. It's that full moon energy. You're putting
[31:12] Speaker 1: it inside your system.
[31:13] Speaker 2: And the kids love it, and you know what, it
[31:15] Speaker 2: really helps get them off to school in a good mood. Yeah.
[31:17] Speaker 1: Look whatever, we're going whatever. The other one is selenite.
[31:22] Speaker 2: So my back to full circle chat here with Iggy
[31:26] Speaker 2: and his like working off his debt and all that
[31:28] Speaker 2: sort of stuff. My teddy opposite wants everything now now, now,
[31:31] Speaker 2: now now, And my whole parenting journey with him is
[31:33] Speaker 2: teaching him delaid gratification.
[31:36] Speaker 1: I'm terrible at it. He's terrible at it. We're all
[31:37] Speaker 1: terrible at of it.
[31:38] Speaker 2: We don't know it because as a parent, oh my god,
[31:40] Speaker 2: there's so much on you to follow through.
[31:42] Speaker 1: And it's exhausting because when he wants something.
[31:44] Speaker 2: It's just like the negotiation and the non relentless relentlessness.
[31:49] Speaker 1: Anyway, so I bought him.
[31:50] Speaker 2: I didn't actually I had one a stick of selenite,
[31:53] Speaker 2: which is woo woo if you know you're witchy.
[31:55] Speaker 1: Shit is all about like manifesting and wishes. And what
[31:58] Speaker 1: I taught him was like, Babe, this is a really
[32:00] Speaker 1: powerful crystal. We're going to charge it under the full moon.
[32:03] Speaker 2: And then what you do is you get some paper
[32:04] Speaker 2: and you write out what you want and you wrap
[32:07] Speaker 2: it around the selenite. You put that selenite under your pillow,
[32:10] Speaker 2: and then if you sleep on that for a month
[32:11] Speaker 2: and you manifest like it helps your wishes come true.
[32:14] Speaker 1: I can get behind. It's fairly good.
[32:17] Speaker 2: It's basically goal setting with like a sparkle totally you
[32:20] Speaker 2: know Accessoryah.
[32:21] Speaker 1: Yeah, he loves it.
[32:22] Speaker 2: And sometimes when he's just fucking at me for some
[32:25] Speaker 2: shit that he wants to do or go or start,
[32:27] Speaker 2: he wants to try this or that, I'm like.
[32:29] Speaker 1: Write it on your selenite.
[32:30] Speaker 2: Boy.
[32:31] Speaker 1: I love it, and it really buys me time and
[32:33] Speaker 1: mental space. Good. Everyone get a stick of selenite.
[32:36] Speaker 2: You just reminded me something someone told me once in
[32:39] Speaker 2: year twelve, and I really took it to heart.
[32:41] Speaker 1: Was if you sleep on your books. Oh yeah, all
[32:45] Speaker 1: the knowledge will go in. Yes and not at the
[32:48] Speaker 1: was another lat and I did it. I would put
[32:49] Speaker 1: my work books. Oh, I don't know. It was fine.
[32:52] Speaker 1: We got through it. I guess I thought about a study.
[32:55] Speaker 2: But the other thing someone told me, and again I
[32:57] Speaker 2: committed it through to the bitter end of your twelve,
[33:00] Speaker 2: was if you listen to classical music.
[33:03] Speaker 1: While you study.
[33:04] Speaker 2: The theory in music actually helps expand your brain so
[33:08] Speaker 2: you can absorb more. And so I just pummeled classical
[33:12] Speaker 2: music all day, every day, undiagnosed.
[33:15] Speaker 1: I just raw dogged that U twelve was.
[33:17] Speaker 2: Really trying to find some framework, some scaffolding to help
[33:22] Speaker 2: me get through exams. But yeah, it's funny the things
[33:25] Speaker 2: you remember. I really thought that it worked, and that
[33:28] Speaker 2: was my hyper focus. Was Actually I spent more time
[33:30] Speaker 2: trying to find classical music albums and making.
[33:33] Speaker 1: Playlists that I enjoyed. What as you go to?
[33:35] Speaker 2: Oh, I made my own mix, you know, just all
[33:39] Speaker 2: my Air on a G string was like a favorite
[33:41] Speaker 2: of mine.
[33:42] Speaker 1: I really enjoyed that.
[33:43] Speaker 2: Pucker Bell's cannon like I had it all. Some real
[33:45] Speaker 2: hits from the Valdi just went in there. Chart toppers love,
[33:49] Speaker 2: chart toppers from the fourteen hundreds.
[33:52] Speaker 1: Yeah, love it. Hey girl, hear me with the nart spot.
[33:56] Speaker 1: I gotta not spawn for you DLS.
[33:58] Speaker 2: This is something that landed in my head that I
[34:00] Speaker 2: didn't know I needed, but now I have it. I'm
[34:02] Speaker 2: a stand for it. Repsie, you gave me this product.
[34:06] Speaker 2: It's the Benefit lip stain. It looks so good on you. Now.
[34:11] Speaker 2: It's a multi use product. It's not just a lipstain.
[34:13] Speaker 2: I use it as a cheek stain. If you've been
[34:16] Speaker 2: a longtime deal, you will know that my skin eats blush.
[34:20] Speaker 2: I have to use a liquid cream based oil based blush.
[34:24] Speaker 2: I can't use a powder blush. It just it doesn't stay.
[34:27] Speaker 2: You put it on and five minutes later it's like, wow,
[34:29] Speaker 2: she's back to Corpsville. But this Benefit lip stain, it's
[34:33] Speaker 2: got stain power.
[34:34] Speaker 1: It does what it says it's going to do.
[34:36] Speaker 2: And don't we love a beauty product that just does
[34:38] Speaker 2: what it says it's going to do. I will say
[34:39] Speaker 2: I use it as a base to absorb other products
[34:42] Speaker 2: on top, so I wear it as a lipstain.
[34:44] Speaker 1: But then I also I love my.
[34:46] Speaker 2: Buoy where the hell is my where the hell is
[34:48] Speaker 2: my nourished lipstick? And then my Charlotte Tilbury blush over
[34:52] Speaker 2: the top, and I just find it lasts most of
[34:54] Speaker 2: the day. Not you lay your blush colors though, because
[34:56] Speaker 2: the lipstain is like a berry. Yes, and then you
[34:59] Speaker 2: do like a more of a pea. Gee, Charlotte Tilbrey
[35:01] Speaker 2: over the top. It's a great combo cute as a button.
[35:04] Speaker 2: Thanks Reds. So anyway, thank you for that benefit lipstain.
[35:08] Speaker 2: I will be a customer of Benefit and purchase that
[35:10] Speaker 2: on repeat. Big Benefit. Did great lips to great brows?
[35:14] Speaker 1: Yeah, they kill it in the brown department as well.
[35:16] Speaker 1: I agree. Yeah, REPSI hear me with your nuts spot my.
[35:20] Speaker 2: TV show I always need a new TV show. Season
[35:23] Speaker 2: two has just come out of four seasons, which is
[35:27] Speaker 2: one of the best shows I've seen in a very
[35:29] Speaker 2: very long time. It's Tina Fey, It's Will Forte, It's
[35:31] Speaker 2: Coleman Domingo, it's all our favorite people never even heard of.
[35:35] Speaker 2: You would love it and we are right in the pocket.
[35:38] Speaker 2: It's like for like elder millennials, young gen X, I
[35:41] Speaker 2: wou'd say, Queazi, had you watch season one previously or
[35:44] Speaker 2: did you binge both? No?
[35:47] Speaker 1: I actually you haven't even started season two.
[35:48] Speaker 2: The only reason I'm bringing this as a knotspon is
[35:51] Speaker 2: because season two just dropped and I have been giving
[35:53] Speaker 2: it as recos to other people, and two people this
[35:56] Speaker 2: week voice texts me, I'm like, oh my god, thank
[35:57] Speaker 2: you for talking about four seasons?
[35:59] Speaker 1: Best show ever? Is it a thirty minute or forty five?
[36:01] Speaker 2: How many apps? I think there's four apps? There's only four, yeah,
[36:04] Speaker 2: but they're.
[36:05] Speaker 1: Like almost an hour. Do you think that's right.
[36:07] Speaker 2: It's basically about four couples and at the beginning all
[36:11] Speaker 2: four are married season one at one, they're all four married,
[36:13] Speaker 2: and they go on these holidays and it's on the
[36:16] Speaker 2: holidays and just how the dynamics and the relationships and
[36:19] Speaker 2: the group changes fun between the different literally holiday season.
[36:24] Speaker 2: So genre is it comedy, drama, remedy, okay, drama?
[36:28] Speaker 1: And it's hilarious like Steve Carrell's in it.
[36:30] Speaker 2: It's so so so funny, Tina Fe, I mean, the
[36:32] Speaker 2: absolute queen of my life.
[36:34] Speaker 1: Yes, Tina Fe.
[36:35] Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just like such a real take on marriage, relationships, humans, friendship. Yeah,
[36:41] Speaker 2: it's really, really, really fucking good. It's addictive. I wish
[36:44] Speaker 2: there was so many more episodes. You just love the characters,
[36:47] Speaker 2: love having time with them. And season two has come
[36:49] Speaker 2: out and I haven't even started it yet, but I'm
[36:50] Speaker 2: fucking psyched.
[36:51] Speaker 1: Great record.
[36:52] Speaker 2: If I didn't have a boyfriend in my phone, I
[36:54] Speaker 2: would be watching way more TV. I haven't watched TV
[36:57] Speaker 2: in like two months.
[36:58] Speaker 1: Well, I'm deep in the DC season, so I'm really
[37:03] Speaker 1: enjoying it.
[37:04] Speaker 2: Gone a different angle they had to, Yeah, and what
[37:08] Speaker 2: they really confront and deal with is their level of
[37:12] Speaker 2: fame and how it's changed because of the show, absolutely
[37:16] Speaker 2: purely because of Netflix. It is quite meta and looking
[37:19] Speaker 2: individually at the popularity of specific cheerleaders who have been
[37:23] Speaker 2: featured and how it's changed their lives. They look at
[37:26] Speaker 2: the good, the bad, the ugly. You would love this revs.
[37:29] Speaker 2: In at one they decide to tour a live show,
[37:33] Speaker 2: and it's really cool because the girls are like, everyone's
[37:35] Speaker 2: coming just for us, not for the football, you know,
[37:39] Speaker 2: and that we're like the side snack, you know. And
[37:41] Speaker 2: then they feature the leads in Netflix. It's very smart business.
[37:46] Speaker 2: But yeah, I like how they don't pretend, you know
[37:49] Speaker 2: how some shows get so big and then they kind
[37:51] Speaker 2: of ignore, sure, the fact that, yeah, we've become huge
[37:54] Speaker 2: in a very different way. I thought it was very meta,
[37:56] Speaker 2: very cool to kind of confront it. There's an Aussie
[37:59] Speaker 2: featured this year again, really beautiful, playful, charismatic, lovely representation
[38:05] Speaker 2: of Ossie's and you kind of get a bit of
[38:07] Speaker 2: pride watching her. But yeah, it's you know, I'm actually
[38:09] Speaker 2: watching it with the RAFA and what I am loving
[38:13] Speaker 2: is the strength of the sisterhood.
[38:15] Speaker 1: Yeah cool.
[38:16] Speaker 2: They also revisit the fact that they got a pay
[38:19] Speaker 2: rise and the girls who kind of made that legacy
[38:22] Speaker 2: and fighting for their right to earn more than fifteen
[38:25] Speaker 2: dollars an hour. But now they've got heaps of work
[38:29] Speaker 2: opportunities that almost now And look, I haven't finished the series,
[38:32] Speaker 2: but the girls who are part of DCC, you know
[38:35] Speaker 2: how before they had to hold down multiple jobs because
[38:37] Speaker 2: there's so many opportunities now for just the cheerleaders outside
[38:42] Speaker 2: of the NFL, they can.
[38:44] Speaker 1: Almost do it as a full time job exclusively. Right,
[38:47] Speaker 1: We love that for you girls.
[38:49] Speaker 2: But yeah, it's beautiful the love and the support and
[38:51] Speaker 2: the care and nurturing side of the girls specifically amongst themselves.
[38:56] Speaker 1: It's really cool. Yeah, very cool. Yeah, yay, so into that.
[39:00] Speaker 1: That was, like I said, a little extra nonspawn.
[39:02] Speaker 2: There four seasons and what is it called America's Sweetheart
[39:07] Speaker 2: sweet on Netflix?
[39:08] Speaker 1: Thanks Netflix.
[39:09] Speaker 2: All right, guys, there is a more time this Thursday
[39:11] Speaker 2: when we talk about phone sex. It was a juicy,
[39:16] Speaker 2: fun topic. We're very exposing and whatever. It's behind the
[39:21] Speaker 2: payball because it's really embarrassing. But you know, if you
[39:24] Speaker 2: want to hear about Jem and I.
[39:26] Speaker 3: Individual experiences with phone sex.
[39:29] Speaker 1: Oh my god, we went there. We weren't there anyway,
[39:32] Speaker 1: here's a little teaser. I think you need to take.
[39:35] Speaker 2: The talking off you, yeah, and ask questions. Ask more questions,
[39:38] Speaker 2: like say to him, what do you want to do
[39:40] Speaker 2: to me? Okay, great, great, start there, thank you, finally
[39:44] Speaker 2: a full sentence, and then let him.
[39:46] Speaker 1: He'll be good at this.
[39:47] Speaker 2: You'll be like credit, first, I'm going to pull your
[39:50] Speaker 2: brass wrap off your shoulder with my teeth.
[39:52] Speaker 1: I do it? No, No, okay, I'm.
[39:54] Speaker 2: Too I need.
[39:59] Speaker 1: What do I do? And then do I do it?
[40:02] Speaker 1: It's happening here.
[40:05] Speaker 3: You trying to bite your own brass drop off your should.
[40:10] Speaker 1: I don't know what I'm doing. I'm out of my
[40:12] Speaker 1: dead okay. And another line, it's coming to me now. Okay. Great.
[40:16] Speaker 2: If that sounds like something you'd like to wrap your
[40:18] Speaker 2: ears around, there's a link in the show that's on
