[0:00] Speaker 1: We would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the
[0:03] Speaker 1: land that this podcast is recorded on.
[0:05] Speaker 2: Hello and welcome to Bestie Hotline.
[0:08] Speaker 1: Bring, bring. I'm your host, Kate Reeves. And I'm Gemma Peanut.
[0:11] Speaker 1: And you. Are the DLs. Yes, you are. It's Friday.
[0:32] Speaker 2: Are you feeling the overwhelm of the home stretch, home
[0:36] Speaker 2: run towards Christmas? Like it's already started for me and
[0:39] Speaker 2: it feels earlier than normal.
[0:41] Speaker 1: Or maybe I just have amnesia every year. You have
[0:43] Speaker 1: amnesia every year. But yes, big time. Anytime someone's like,
[0:46] Speaker 1: can you catch up? I'm like, oh, we're in that
[0:48] Speaker 1: part of the year where it's like, see you in Feb. No,
[0:50] Speaker 1: I've got all the year six stuff. I've got so
[0:52] Speaker 1: much stuff to wrap up Isla's primary school life. So, yeah, no,
[0:57] Speaker 1: everything is busy. But I need it to go fast
[0:59] Speaker 1: because I am on a countdown to New York.
[1:01] Speaker 2: Fair.
[1:02] Speaker 1: And I need this period to go fast because this
[1:04] Speaker 1: is the longest stretch we've had away from each other
[1:06] Speaker 1: and it is painful. It's really– I've got a countdown
[1:10] Speaker 1: on my phone and I'm like, what do you mean
[1:13] Speaker 1: two months? Yes. 10 days and 20 hours. Yeah. It's
[1:17] Speaker 1: too long.
[1:18] Speaker 2: It is a long time.
[1:18] Speaker 1: So I'm happy to be busy. Fill me up, buttercup. Yeah, good. Yeah,
[1:21] Speaker 1: let's go. Get you to NY sizzle, baby. That's it.
[1:23] Speaker 1: And then I will crash like I have never crashed
[1:26] Speaker 1: after a year before. I will be absolutely doing nothing
[1:31] Speaker 1: for two and a half weeks. Heaven. Can't wait. It
[1:34] Speaker 1: won't be sizzling, though. It'll be cold. It'll be snowing, probably. Yeah. Ooh.
[1:39] Speaker 2: Have you been to New York City in the New
[1:41] Speaker 2: Year time?
[1:42] Speaker 1: Yes. Now that I've done summer, I've done all the seasons. Okay.
[1:44] Speaker 1: The shoulder seasons are the best. Do you have a
[1:47] Speaker 1: thick jacket? Yeah. Remember I lived in Edinburgh? I've still
[1:50] Speaker 1: got that. Oh, yeah. Okay. I'm all set. You're good.
[1:52] Speaker 1: I'm all set. But honestly, I just don't think we're
[1:54] Speaker 1: going to. We're not going to go out much. Just
[1:55] Speaker 1: hibernate together. I think we'll be girl bear, boy bear
[1:59] Speaker 1: and just try and be a couple for a minute.
[2:02] Speaker 1: I don't think we're going to be doing activities. In
[2:03] Speaker 1: the height of winter. Exactly. Doing life. Snuggle season.
[2:07] Speaker 2: Well, while Rebs is doing that, Dilemmons are still popping off.
[2:10] Speaker 2: In fact.
[2:11] Speaker 1: 100%. It's peak Dilemmons season.
[2:12] Speaker 2: It's harvest time. You know, they're juicy, they're ripening, they're
[2:16] Speaker 2: almost over ripening, they're spoiled and we've got to deal
[2:19] Speaker 2: with them because. Someone's thirsty and that is me and
[2:23] Speaker 2: I want the D'Lemonade in my face hole.
[2:25] Speaker 1: Let's go. D.L.
[2:26] Speaker 2: Writes, besties, I could use some D'Lemonade right about now.
[2:31] Speaker 1: Same girl, same.
[2:32] Speaker 2: I ordered a whole bunch of Halloween decorations because I
[2:35] Speaker 2: had visions for being one of those fun mums who
[2:37] Speaker 2: really commits to the bit.
[2:39] Speaker 1: Okay.
[2:39] Speaker 2: They've arrived and I've just opened the boxes to discover
[2:42] Speaker 2: that I've essentially signed myself up for a full-time unpaid
[2:45] Speaker 2: role as Halloween event coordinator.
[2:47] Speaker 1: Ah, yes.
[2:48] Speaker 2: I'm talking cobwebs to hang, things to inflate, flat packs
[2:51] Speaker 2: to assemble and suddenly I'm questioning whether Halloween is even
[2:54] Speaker 2: a thing in Australia or if I've been brainwashed by
[2:57] Speaker 2: social media. Like, are we actually.
[2:59] Speaker 1: Doing this here?
[3:00] Speaker 2: Will the kids remember the magic of Halloween house or
[3:03] Speaker 2: will they remember me crying on a ladder trying to
[3:05] Speaker 2: hang a plastic skeleton? Do I push through and become
[3:09] Speaker 2: the Halloween house or quietly shove everything back in its
[3:12] Speaker 2: boxes and pretend it never happened?
[3:14] Speaker 1: Help a sister out. Okay.
[3:16] Speaker 2: Put it back in its box. Pretend it never happened.
[3:19] Speaker 1: No, I think it's fun. People get so funny about like,
[3:23] Speaker 1: it's an American table.
[3:25] Speaker 2: Lean in.
[3:26] Speaker 1: It's here. It's a ride. It's here. The kids love it.
[3:28] Speaker 2: But you can do it your way.
[3:31] Speaker 1: Of course you can. Yes.
[3:33] Speaker 2: How decoration-y do you get?
[3:35] Speaker 1: Well, we don't really do the house decoration thing. We
[3:38] Speaker 1: do it Christmas. Absolutely. You have the perfect spooky home.
[3:40] Speaker 1: I do. I do. But we're set back. We're not
[3:42] Speaker 1: on the street. Who are we doing it for?
[3:44] Speaker 2: You know? Yeah.
[3:45] Speaker 1: You know, in America, they do like the pumpkinning of
[3:47] Speaker 1: the porch or the porch pumpkinning or whatever. Like they
[3:50] Speaker 1: do full, but like it works because they've got that
[3:53] Speaker 1: era of houses, you know, that Victorian kind of house. Yes,
[3:56] Speaker 1: the cottage could be spooky, but for what? For who?
[3:59] Speaker 1: But what about inside?
[4:01] Speaker 2: I get fed content from, I guess, American mumfluencers who
[4:05] Speaker 2: fully do like a seasonal change of their home.
[4:08] Speaker 1: Like a theming. Yeah, they theme it.
[4:10] Speaker 2: Halloween.
[4:11] Speaker 1: It's not for me. But the thing is, you've come
[4:13] Speaker 1: this far, okay? You've had your hyperfocus. You got online.
[4:16] Speaker 1: You picked all your things. You've bought them all. You've
[4:18] Speaker 1: bought it. Sunk cost. You've got to keep going. Yeah.
[4:21] Speaker 1: You've arrived. And if you put them away in a box,
[4:23] Speaker 1: you'll never get them out again. But if you do
[4:25] Speaker 1: it this year, come on, lean in, commit to the bit,
[4:28] Speaker 1: get all your picks, and then you can decide whether
[4:30] Speaker 1: you keep them for next year. Yeah, you've got to.
[4:31] Speaker 2: Call on that energy you had when you were adding
[4:34] Speaker 2: to car and follow it through. But I get that
[4:38] Speaker 2: overwhelming feeling where it's like the vision was this.
[4:41] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[4:42] Speaker 2: But the execution was X.
[4:44] Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh. Hard relate.
[4:45] Speaker 2: Yes, we've all been there.
[4:46] Speaker 1: But– You know what I think you need to do? Outsource. 100% outsource.
[4:52] Speaker 2: Outsource that ship.
[4:53] Speaker 1: Do not be trying to get up a ladder. No, no, no, no.
[4:57] Speaker 1: You're clearly like executive level with the vision. Yep. You
[5:00] Speaker 1: just need to get someone to come, as Gem says,
[5:02] Speaker 1: and execute. I think it's time to outsource this for sure.
[5:05] Speaker 1: I'm getting the sense that there's no partner, husband, putting
[5:09] Speaker 1: up their hand. I didn't get the big vibe of
[5:12] Speaker 1: that coming through the message.
[5:13] Speaker 2: I don't have a handy husband, so I too would
[5:15] Speaker 2: not mention him in my dilemma.
[5:17] Speaker 1: Oh, my God, I look at these couples, like thinking
[5:20] Speaker 1: of one friend in particular, and it's like this perfect
[5:22] Speaker 1: match that is so rare, which is like one's got
[5:24] Speaker 1: the vision and one's a doer. And she's just like,
[5:27] Speaker 1: and then we'll do this and then we'll paint that
[5:29] Speaker 1: and then this will go here and then a little
[5:30] Speaker 1: shelf and he's just like... But, like, that's not most
[5:34] Speaker 1: of us. No. Okay. So what do you need to do?
[5:36] Speaker 1: You need to hire a husband. I think you need
[5:38] Speaker 1: to just call Air Tasker. Just call Air Tasker. Then
[5:41] Speaker 1: you can be bossy as well. That's what I like
[5:43] Speaker 1: about it. Because if you call in on a favor,
[5:45] Speaker 1: you're like, oh, thank you so much, you know. But, like,
[5:49] Speaker 1: if you get an Air Tasker, you can be bossy
[5:51] Speaker 1: because it's a job. But also you.
[5:52] Speaker 2: Can be specific when you list the job, you know.
[5:55] Speaker 2: Like you can literally say hang Halloween decorations and take pictures.
[6:00] Speaker 1: Yep.
[6:00] Speaker 2: I need you to build this skeletor. I need you
[6:04] Speaker 2: to hang these bats. I want you to drape the
[6:06] Speaker 2: cobweb so it.
[6:07] Speaker 1: Looks like this. Yeah. Image references. Yeah. Fully art direct
[6:12] Speaker 1: the situation. But don't you go up a ladder fucking, no.
[6:15] Speaker 1: Just quickly, DLs, full disclaimer.
[6:17] Speaker 2: Revs and I have worked with Airtasker, but as you
[6:20] Speaker 2: will know, if you're an OG DL, we have been
[6:23] Speaker 2: Airtasker stans since the beginning.
[6:26] Speaker 1: But Revsy, I had a year off.
[6:29] Speaker 2: Where I had all the enthusiasm of this mum and
[6:32] Speaker 2: I bought.
[6:33] Speaker 1: All the gear. I even went to Bunnings. Because you
[6:35] Speaker 1: lived on a Halloween street. I did.
[6:37] Speaker 2: It was famous. I felt the pressure.
[6:39] Speaker 1: Yeah, as you should lift.
[6:40] Speaker 2: I was like, I've got to deliver.
[6:41] Speaker 1: You've got to lift. And also my kids were like,
[6:43] Speaker 1: can we make it?
[6:44] Speaker 2: Like I had a neighbour five doors down convert their
[6:49] Speaker 2: car boot. I can't remember if they had a Tesla
[6:51] Speaker 2: or some sort of fancy car with a front, the trunks.
[6:55] Speaker 1: Is that what they call it? A front trunk.
[6:57] Speaker 2: Oh, wow.
[6:57] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[6:58] Speaker 2: They like opened it up and turned it into a
[6:59] Speaker 2: monster and the trunk.
[7:00] Speaker 1: Was full of lollies. Oh, wow.
[7:02] Speaker 2: Like it was epic. It was huge commitment.
[7:05] Speaker 1: I do love it.
[7:07] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[7:07] Speaker 1: It was a cool street.
[7:08] Speaker 2: So I tried to dip my toe into that world.
[7:11] Speaker 1: I went to Bunnings.
[7:12] Speaker 2: I bought like all the fishing wire and honestly, it
[7:15] Speaker 2: was so much work. Our house looked amazing, but I
[7:21] Speaker 2: will never do it again unless I outsource it. I
[7:25] Speaker 2: would outsource it because I have that high level vision planning,
[7:30] Speaker 2: but I don't want to execute it.
[7:31] Speaker 1: I got on ladders.
[7:32] Speaker 2: I was cutting fucking fishing wire.
[7:35] Speaker 1: Oh my God. Yeah. You've got to get someone else
[7:37] Speaker 1: in to do all that. 100%.
[7:39] Speaker 2: But I will say there is something very satisfying about
[7:42] Speaker 2: being the cool mum with the decorated house.
[7:44] Speaker 1: Yeah. Like I felt like the fun mum. You're doing
[7:46] Speaker 1: it for the kids. I feel like Christmas I do
[7:49] Speaker 1: for me, just my little art director soul. It makes
[7:51] Speaker 1: me very happy.
[7:52] Speaker 2: Halloween's for them.
[7:53] Speaker 1: And they enjoy it and everything. But Halloween, it's very
[7:56] Speaker 1: like kiddie and I think they will remember it. I
[7:58] Speaker 1: don't know. Of course they will. I think they will.
[8:01] Speaker 1: As a single mum, I can't tell you– I outsource
[8:05] Speaker 1: these things all the time. About once a quarter I
[8:08] Speaker 1: get a rubbish pickup, which is very indulgent because I
[8:12] Speaker 1: could just, you know, stay on top of it or
[8:14] Speaker 1: drive it to the tip or whatever, fill up my car.
[8:16] Speaker 2: It's okay.
[8:16] Speaker 1: You're a single mum, babe. I don't. It's a big job.
[8:19] Speaker 1: It's a huge job. And every now and then I
[8:21] Speaker 1: just go, I just want to make a pile and
[8:23] Speaker 1: then I want that pile to disappear. Yeah, it's very satisfying.
[8:26] Speaker 1: And I use Air Tasker for that every time. I
[8:28] Speaker 1: do it like once a quarter because I've never organised
[8:30] Speaker 1: enough to book my fucking council clean up and all. Yeah.
[8:33] Speaker 1: I go, oh, I've got to book a cleanup. And
[8:34] Speaker 1: then I'm like, oh, I don't get another one until
[8:36] Speaker 1: November or whatever.
[8:37] Speaker 2: It's the best thing ever. I remember after my husband's 40th,
[8:40] Speaker 2: our garage was like floor to ceiling full of drink cans,
[8:44] Speaker 2: pizza boxes, like just so much rubbish. It made me
[8:48] Speaker 2: feel unwell. And then two people came with their pickup truck.
[8:53] Speaker 2: It was like there and then it was gone and
[8:55] Speaker 2: it wasn't my problem. But I factored that into the budget.
[8:59] Speaker 1: Ah, yeah. Like into his birthday budget. I was like,
[9:01] Speaker 1: you can set the budget. Full cleanup. You can set
[9:04] Speaker 1: the budget on the app. So like you just, you know,
[9:06] Speaker 1: you can pay whatever you can. Yeah. Just get offers.
[9:09] Speaker 2: And if you're well off the budget, they let you know.
[9:11] Speaker 1: So don't worry. Oh, yeah.
[9:12] Speaker 2: They write back and they'll be like, actually, that will
[9:15] Speaker 2: cost this. And then another person goes, and actually, that
[9:17] Speaker 2: will cost this. And you go, wow, I was way
[9:19] Speaker 2: off the mark and this is the market value of
[9:21] Speaker 2: this job.
[9:21] Speaker 1: No, I'm a big fan of outsourcing because you've got
[9:24] Speaker 1: the fucking time. I've used it for hanging pictures. Same. Otherwise,
[9:28] Speaker 1: they sit leaning for years collecting dust.
[9:31] Speaker 2: Oh, other hack, trampoline dismantling when we moved house. Just
[9:36] Speaker 2: popped that up there. Does anyone know how to dismantle
[9:38] Speaker 2: this and transport it?
[9:39] Speaker 1: Anyway, it's $ 100. Yeah, great.
[9:41] Speaker 2: It's so good.
[9:42] Speaker 1: It's worth it. Just to have it done and something
[9:44] Speaker 1: off your list. I do think the attitude towards Halloween
[9:47] Speaker 1: has changed so much. There used to be such resistance.
[9:50] Speaker 2: Do you think it's gotten bigger every year?
[9:52] Speaker 1: I would say it depends what age your kids are.
[9:55] Speaker 1: Like my kids love it now because they do some
[9:58] Speaker 1: sort of costume in a group. with their friends. It's
[10:01] Speaker 1: a little bit of a night of freedom, trick or treat,
[10:03] Speaker 1: and then it normally ends back at someone's house and
[10:06] Speaker 1: then there's like a mini party. I think it's nice.
[10:08] Speaker 1: There's so many obligatory nights of the year that we have,
[10:12] Speaker 1: you know, and so many things you have to show
[10:14] Speaker 1: up for that are like, oh, God, all right. I
[10:16] Speaker 1: think it's kind of fun to lean into the fun ones,
[10:19] Speaker 1: don't you think? Yeah.
[10:20] Speaker 2: Look, I've embraced Halloween 100% for my kids.
[10:24] Speaker 1: Poor Iggy was sick last year. That's right.
[10:27] Speaker 2: He completely missed Halloween.
[10:29] Speaker 1: Oh, that's right.
[10:30] Speaker 2: He had gastro, the poor darling, and then Hubs self-nominated
[10:34] Speaker 2: to stay home with him and it was just me
[10:36] Speaker 2: and Raph rolling the streets and this.
[10:38] Speaker 1: Year we're in Fiji. Oh. Yeah.
[10:41] Speaker 2: So he won't get to do halloween again i'm not
[10:44] Speaker 2: complaining all right you know i'll pack a little costume
[10:47] Speaker 2: for each of them to wear in fiji i don't
[10:49] Speaker 2: know if halloween's big in fiji but we'll figure it.
[10:51] Speaker 1: Out yeah i'm sure there'll be a kids club thing
[10:53] Speaker 1: or something who knows oh that's fun yeah no i
[10:55] Speaker 1: think it's fun i definitely used to be like why
[10:57] Speaker 1: is this american holiday but now i'm like no it's
[10:59] Speaker 1: great roll on the fun things we got one life
[11:02] Speaker 1: i feel like it's all a post-covid like dopamine seeking adjustment. Yeah.
[11:08] Speaker 1: I've noticed a lot more themed parties, themed dinner parties
[11:12] Speaker 1: happening now. Like people just want joy, silly fun and joy,
[11:17] Speaker 1: you know, like not so serious. Well, in my old
[11:20] Speaker 1: street chat, which was a Halloween street, there were like
[11:23] Speaker 1: hacks of where people get their lollies from in bulk.
[11:26] Speaker 2: If you order it this time, it will arrive in time.
[11:28] Speaker 2: Then you'll be ready for Halloween. It was very communal.
[11:31] Speaker 2: One thing I do love that started to happen around
[11:35] Speaker 2: our neighborhood is parents now each buy a bag of
[11:39] Speaker 2: lollies take it out on the street walk and then
[11:42] Speaker 2: replenish oh wow other people's candy stores because the streets
[11:46] Speaker 2: that are famous for me halloween streets well if they
[11:49] Speaker 2: do and it's got to sustain many hours and often
[11:52] Speaker 2: they don't have enough candy to sustain all the different
[11:56] Speaker 2: age groups coming at different times and so that's become
[11:58] Speaker 2: a new communal thing that i'm very on Yeah, that's great.
[12:01] Speaker 1: Like you might grab like two big bags of Chupa Chups.
[12:04] Speaker 2: And you'll like rip them open and go, here, let
[12:06] Speaker 2: me replenish your candy stores.
[12:07] Speaker 1: I think that's really great. Yeah, because the little kids
[12:10] Speaker 1: start at three. And then the like year sixes and sevens. Yeah,
[12:13] Speaker 1: what time do they go? They want it to be dark.
[12:15] Speaker 1: Like 6.37. Yeah. Oh my God. I remember when I
[12:18] Speaker 1: just had Isla because Isla was born on the 10th
[12:20] Speaker 1: of October. So she would have been like not even
[12:22] Speaker 1: three weeks old. And I forgot about Halloween because I
[12:25] Speaker 1: just had a baby, my first baby. Didn't realize it
[12:28] Speaker 1: was Halloween. And then the And it's like when the
[12:30] Speaker 1: baby just wakes up and you start to learn how
[12:32] Speaker 1: to settle them. And then it was just like, ding dong,
[12:35] Speaker 1: ding dong, knock, knock, knock, trick or treat. I was like,
[12:38] Speaker 1: fuck off. I was so upset. I just completely forgot.
[12:42] Speaker 1: And then I had to like scribble out this sign.
[12:45] Speaker 1: Newborn in the house, do not ring bell. Oh my God.
[12:48] Speaker 1: And I lived in, like, this old Art Deco apartment
[12:51] Speaker 1: that had one of those, like, you turn the bell.
[12:54] Speaker 1: So it's, like, you know, this really loud, like, cowbell style. Like, oh,
[12:59] Speaker 1: my God, it was so loud and so upsetting. Aggressive, yeah. And, like,
[13:02] Speaker 1: multiple times we all got woken from that.
[13:05] Speaker 2: Yeah, and you were in a real foot traffic area.
[13:07] Speaker 1: Uh-huh, yeah. At that time. Right near shops. Yeah. Oh,
[13:11] Speaker 1: my gosh. Trick or treat.
[13:13] Speaker 2: My kids have come to learn if the house isn't decorated,
[13:17] Speaker 2: you're not welcome.
[13:17] Speaker 1: Yeah, don't go in.
[13:18] Speaker 2: I'm like, just search for the houses with the decorations.
[13:20] Speaker 1: Oh, my God. Trick-or-treating, or it's called guising in Edinburgh,
[13:24] Speaker 1: was so fun. Like, they go hard into it. Yeah,
[13:27] Speaker 1: it's a really gothic city.
[13:29] Speaker 2: Yeah, but that surprises me about British people, you know,
[13:32] Speaker 2: leaning into Halloween.
[13:32] Speaker 1: No, it's specifically Edinburgh. Edinburgh. It's not even Scottish. Yeah.
[13:36] Speaker 1: They have a lot of ghost things. Like it's a very, very,
[13:39] Speaker 1: very old city and it's all gothic Edwardian architecture and
[13:43] Speaker 1: everyone gets into it. And because all the houses, they're
[13:46] Speaker 1: all sort of the same house. They're all these beautiful
[13:48] Speaker 1: sort of terrace flats with the stoop at the front.
[13:51] Speaker 1: Like it's very New York brownstone vibes, similar vibe. And
[13:54] Speaker 1: everyone puts things in their windows and candles and people
[13:57] Speaker 1: get dressed up. Like old school Halloween. There's no Hulk
[14:01] Speaker 1: walking around. Do you know what I mean? It's like witches, goblins, skeletons. Ghosts. Ghosts. Yeah,
[14:06] Speaker 1: like real OG Halloween. And it is dark from school pickup.
[14:11] Speaker 1: Do you feel.
[14:12] Speaker 2: About Halloween as you do book week? Like don't come
[14:15] Speaker 2: as the Hulk. Come as something.
[14:17] Speaker 1: Am I a purist? Yes. No, I think I also
[14:21] Speaker 1: love a pop culture Halloween. Yeah. Yes, me too. But, yeah,
[14:24] Speaker 1: I mean, hey, who am I to shit on the
[14:26] Speaker 1: busy mum who's like, fine, you're the Hulk. Yeah, fine,
[14:29] Speaker 1: you're messy. Yeah, fine, you're messy. You're Ronaldo. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[14:33] Speaker 2: Out the door, let's fucking go.
[14:35] Speaker 1: Whatever makes the kids happy, I don't know. But, no,
[14:37] Speaker 1: book week I am still a purist. Yeah, okay. You
[14:39] Speaker 1: can't be messy. I know he wrote her book but
[14:42] Speaker 1: he didn't.
[14:42] Speaker 2: I did enjoy the transition from when Raph went from–
[14:46] Speaker 2: unicorn sparkly bright Elsa to like I want to be
[14:50] Speaker 2: a witch yeah and I was like yes you've arrived
[14:53] Speaker 2: yeah this is so much more fun so much more
[14:56] Speaker 2: fun to be spooky I know and they get into
[14:58] Speaker 2: a real blood thing like Isla and her friends like
[15:01] Speaker 2: we're cowboys but.
[15:02] Speaker 1: Bloody and I'm like yeah I'm a nurse.
[15:04] Speaker 2: But bloody I'm a French maid But bloody.
[15:08] Speaker 1: They'll get there. They'll get there. I do do $ 0
[15:11] Speaker 1: Halloween though.
[15:12] Speaker 2: What do you mean?
[15:12] Speaker 1: I do $ 0 book week and $ 0 Halloween. Oh, make
[15:15] Speaker 1: your own costume. Make your own. And it's really fun.
[15:17] Speaker 1: I mean, I have the kids for it, but me
[15:18] Speaker 1: and Isla three years ago, we went to Halloween together
[15:21] Speaker 1: as Munchausens. That was really fun. How did you? I
[15:24] Speaker 1: made her look like sickly, like a sickly Victorian child
[15:28] Speaker 1: and I was like her like momager.
[15:29] Speaker 2: My God, that's so funny.
[15:31] Speaker 1: It was really fun. We enjoyed it. She's like, what
[15:33] Speaker 1: am I again, mom? And I'm like, Munchausen's. Munchausen's by proxy. Anyway. Well,
[15:39] Speaker 1: I don't know if we've.
[15:40] Speaker 2: Solved anything for our deal.
[15:41] Speaker 1: We have absolutely solved it. Outsource it, throw money at
[15:44] Speaker 1: the problem and see it through for the kiddos.
[15:46] Speaker 2: Yeah, lean in.
[15:47] Speaker 1: Core memes and all that. Yeah, I think it's fun. Nostalgia. Nostalgia.
[15:51] Speaker 1: You know, future you.
[15:53] Speaker 2: We'll thank current you for doing this shit for your
[15:55] Speaker 2: kids because as we all continuously say on the pod,
[15:58] Speaker 2: like time is slippery. It's all fleeting and it's disappearing.
[16:02] Speaker 2: So make these memories and enjoy it. And we need
[16:04] Speaker 2: more joy.
[16:05] Speaker 1: We sure do. All about the joy and all about
[16:07] Speaker 1: the theme. Well, we love you DLs.
[16:09] Speaker 2: I hope you have a fantastic weekend ahead and happy Friday.

[16:16] Speaker 2: in your ears bright and early on Tuesday with a
[16:18] Speaker 2: regular episode.
