[0:09] Speaker 1: Let's dive in to the NFL report. So that Aaron
[0:13] Speaker 1: Donald thing finally happened. Will the future Hall of Famer
[0:17] Speaker 1: be on the field in Australia? Will the results live
[0:20] Speaker 1: up to the hype? We have that story coming up
[0:22] Speaker 1: for you. Meantime, George Kittle make the trip to Australia.
[0:26] Speaker 1: We have the latest from San Francisco on his possible
[0:29] Speaker 1: return from injury for week number one. And why are
[0:33] Speaker 1: all the cool kids keeping four quarterbacks? Trevor Sycamore is here.
[0:42] Speaker 1: Welcome to the NFL Report, friends. Hi there. My name
[0:45] Speaker 1: is Andrew Siciliano. We are a brand new show at
[0:47] Speaker 1: 7 p.m. Eastern Time every day on the NFL Channel.
[0:50] Speaker 1: We're also a podcast. We're also on YouTube. We're also fun.
[0:52] Speaker 1: We're also a podcast. We're also a podcast. So join
[0:55] Speaker 1: us every day coming up. What are the Green Bay
[0:57] Speaker 1: Packers going to do at running back now? But first,
[1:01] Speaker 1: what's news to me? I don't know. Maybe you had
[1:05] Speaker 1: a life on Sunday. Maybe just maybe you lost your phone.
[1:09] Speaker 1: Maybe you didn't see that Aaron Donald decided to come
[1:13] Speaker 1: out of retirement. Yes, he is officially back. But two questions.
[1:20] Speaker 1: Number one, is he still the same guy? And number two,
[1:23] Speaker 1: is he going to be ready in time for week
[1:26] Speaker 1: number one?
[1:26] Speaker 2: Do I feel like I can play at a high level?
[1:31] Speaker 3: Yes.
[1:31] Speaker 2: Do I feel like I can still be myself? A
[1:34] Speaker 2: hundred percent. If I didn't feel like that, I wouldn't
[1:36] Speaker 2: be here. So, you know, from everything I did, you know,
[1:39] Speaker 2: from training to with just conditioning to the football transition
[1:43] Speaker 2: and doing football drills and things in that nature. I
[1:45] Speaker 2: recorded everything. I studied myself to a T, watched every movement,
[1:50] Speaker 2: every cut, every hit flip. In my opinion, I don't
[1:54] Speaker 2: see no difference. If not, it looked a little cleaner
[1:56] Speaker 2: to me, you know, two years, two years, body feel
[1:59] Speaker 2: a little different, but it's still got to go out there,
[2:01] Speaker 2: play 11 on 11, get myself going and get myself
[2:04] Speaker 2: where I need to be as far as like playing
[2:06] Speaker 2: football again.
[2:06] Speaker 3: So.
[2:07] Speaker 1: All right, that'd be scary if he's actually better than
[2:10] Speaker 1: he was last time. There's Donald on the practice field Sunday.
[2:12] Speaker 1: He was also on the field today, Monday. Officially, the
[2:15] Speaker 1: Rams do have a two-week roster exemption. That means they
[2:19] Speaker 1: can still carry 54 into week one in Australia. They
[2:23] Speaker 1: don't have to play him in Melbourne against the 49ers.
[2:29] Speaker 4: Excited to be able to just take it a day
[2:31] Speaker 4: at a time. I'm not going to talk about any
[2:33] Speaker 4: sort of plans. It's going to be a day at
[2:35] Speaker 4: a time for us. What does that mean for Australia?
[2:37] Speaker 4: The first step was, all right, if you're coming back,
[2:40] Speaker 4: let's do that. Let's get you out on the practice field.
[2:43] Speaker 4: Let's get you acclimated to your teammates, to your coaches,
[2:46] Speaker 4: and then we'll see what that ramp-up period looks like,
[2:48] Speaker 4: whether or not he's available or whether or not we
[2:50] Speaker 4: think it's best to be able to play him in Australia.
[2:53] Speaker 4: I think the best way to do it is take
[2:54] Speaker 4: it one day at a time, but we're obviously excited
[2:56] Speaker 4: to be able to have him back.
[2:58] Speaker 1: All right, Sean, keep this in mind when you look
[2:59] Speaker 1: at these numbers here. This is totally absurd. Aaron Donald
[3:03] Speaker 1: leads the league in TFL since 2014, and he hasn't
[3:08] Speaker 1: played the last two years. He's got 24, Trevor Sycamore,
[3:14] Speaker 1: more TFLs than Cam Jordan, and like 25, 26 more
[3:20] Speaker 1: than Myles Garrett. And again, Trevor, good to see you.
[3:22] Speaker 1: He has not played in the last two years. There's
[3:26] Speaker 1: a hype machine going right now. Obviously, this is the
[3:29] Speaker 1: lead story on major news networks. What if it doesn't work, though? Like,
[3:35] Speaker 1: is there any part of you that thinks it may
[3:37] Speaker 1: not go as smoothly as everyone thinks?
[3:40] Speaker 5: So I think that there is another side of the
[3:43] Speaker 5: coin where maybe it doesn't go nuclear, right? Maybe Aaron
[3:47] Speaker 5: Donald isn't finishing between 15 and 20 sacks like some
[3:51] Speaker 5: people think is possible. Now, I want to be clear,
[3:53] Speaker 5: that is possible. But I think what's more likely... for
[3:58] Speaker 5: Aaron Donald is moments for him. Maybe not the whole game.
[4:02] Speaker 5: I don't think this is going to be exactly the
[4:05] Speaker 5: Aaron Donald that we've seen in the past. Although I
[4:07] Speaker 5: do think that what he said in his soundbite is
[4:10] Speaker 5: very valuable. And that is that he's taken off of
[4:12] Speaker 5: football for the last two years. So I bet that
[4:14] Speaker 5: body's feeling real good and real rested. But I think
[4:17] Speaker 5: you want to make sure that that feeling is sustained
[4:20] Speaker 5: throughout the season. They don't need him on every rep
[4:24] Speaker 5: their defensive line. I mean, part of the Aaron Donald
[4:27] Speaker 5: conversation here is everyone's going to list.
[4:29] Speaker 1: Oh, they've got miles Garrett. They've got Byron young. They've
[4:31] Speaker 1: got Kobe Turner. They've got Braden fist. They've got Puna Ford. Okay.
[4:34] Speaker 5: Well, I think those guys are the guys that you're
[4:36] Speaker 5: going to want to out there. The majority of the
[4:38] Speaker 5: time you want Aaron Donald out there for moments. You
[4:42] Speaker 5: want Aaron Donald out there for the way that he
[4:45] Speaker 5: finished the Superbowl by getting a sack of Joe Burley, right?
[4:48] Speaker 5: You want more of that. And whatever the, You know,
[4:52] Speaker 5: I guess rotation is probably the best way to say it.
[4:58] Speaker 5: Whatever rotation gets that Aaron Donald the entire season in
[5:01] Speaker 5: the postseason. I think that's exactly what you want.
[5:04] Speaker 1: Yeah, it's the old thing like who you're going to
[5:05] Speaker 1: double team. You have them both on the field. You
[5:07] Speaker 1: can't double team both of them. I guess you could
[5:09] Speaker 1: potentially go max protect every single time, but that isn't ideal.
[5:12] Speaker 1: It's like a baseball lineup. You have someone protecting your slugger. Well,
[5:15] Speaker 1: it's like, who are you going to pitch to? Who
[5:16] Speaker 1: are you going to double team here? And now you
[5:18] Speaker 1: have two Hall of Famers. They're the greatest of all time.
[5:21] Speaker 1: And Kobe Turner and Byron Young, those guys conveniently who
[5:23] Speaker 1: have not yet signed extensions. will likely eat, and they
[5:28] Speaker 1: will eat well if you have to double-team everyone. I
[5:30] Speaker 1: was trying to go through, Trevor, what is the worst-case scenario,
[5:32] Speaker 1: and I promise you I'm not trying to live in
[5:34] Speaker 1: the negative here, but I'm kind of like Kyle this
[5:36] Speaker 1: morning on GMFB, and that is, all right, I am
[5:39] Speaker 1: buying the hype, but, Trevor, what is your worst-case scenario here?
[5:44] Speaker 1: Let's live there.
[5:45] Speaker 5: The worst case scenario is exactly what you said, and
[5:47] Speaker 5: that's the fact that you simply still have to care
[5:50] Speaker 5: about Aaron Donald. The worst case scenario might be five
[5:53] Speaker 5: sacks himself, but it's the fact that, like you just mentioned,
[5:57] Speaker 5: his presence, if he's on the field, you have to
[6:00] Speaker 5: care about him. You have to notice him. You have
[6:02] Speaker 5: to pay attention to him. That's worst case scenario, and
[6:05] Speaker 5: that's a pretty good place to be in and well
[6:07] Speaker 5: worth it.
[6:08] Speaker 1: Tampa Bay Trey. joining us on the NFL Report. Good
[6:11] Speaker 1: to see you, sir. Let's do this again soon. Don't
[6:13] Speaker 1: go anywhere. Trevor coming right back. Let's get some other
[6:15] Speaker 1: news from around the NFL. How about that Odell Beckham Jr.
[6:18] Speaker 2: Guy?
[6:18] Speaker 1: What do you know? He made the Giants for the
[6:21] Speaker 1: first time since getting traded off the Giants back in 2019.
[6:24] Speaker 1: He's officially back. Since then, he has played for, can
[6:27] Speaker 1: you name them all? The Browns, the Rams, won a
[6:30] Speaker 1: Super Bowl, the Ravens, And the Dolphins, Odell turns 34
[6:35] Speaker 1: in November. Will he have Malik neighbors on the field
[6:38] Speaker 1: with him week one on a Sunday night against the Cowboys?
[6:40] Speaker 1: Don't know. Malik noncommittal for any specific game return. He
[6:44] Speaker 1: was on the podium today. This is a Pat Leonard
[6:46] Speaker 1: tweet from the New York Daily News. So he could
[6:48] Speaker 1: be back. The question I think is fair to ask
[6:51] Speaker 1: if and when he is back. And let's say it's
[6:52] Speaker 1: week one. Will he be the same? Hey, all of
[6:56] Speaker 1: you who thought J.J. McCarthy was going to get cut
[6:59] Speaker 1: or traded, that did not happen. Don't believe that hype.
[7:02] Speaker 1: The 10th overall pick from 2024 did make the Vikings.
[7:05] Speaker 1: They initially kept four quarterbacks in Minnesota, but Max Brosmer
[7:10] Speaker 1: was waived on Monday. Sunday was cut down day, 6 p.m.
[7:16] Speaker 1: Eastern time. There are a lot of notable moves out there,
[7:20] Speaker 1: including these guys put on IR or PUP, meaning they're
[7:24] Speaker 1: not going to begin the season. Most notably, Micah Parsons
[7:27] Speaker 1: and Jordan Tyson on the right of the screen. Tyson,
[7:30] Speaker 1: the rookie wide receiver, is out for a minimum of
[7:33] Speaker 1: four games. There are also three notable players put Ian
[7:36] Speaker 1: Rappaport on the commissioner exempt list.
[7:40] Speaker 3: Yeah, there's some serious legal news yesterday involving Josh Jacobs
[7:43] Speaker 3: and others. We'll start there, though, with the starting running
[7:45] Speaker 3: back for the Green Bay Packers was officially placed on
[7:49] Speaker 3: the commissioner's exempt list after being charged with two misdemeanors
[7:53] Speaker 3: earlier in the week. Now, this stems from a domestic
[7:57] Speaker 3: situation three months ago where Josh Jacobs was accused of
[8:01] Speaker 3: a lot of things, including domestic violence. The official charges, though,
[8:05] Speaker 3: were two misdemeanors, not a charge of domestic violence, which
[8:09] Speaker 3: His lawyers then made a statement and pointed out that
[8:13] Speaker 3: basically he was not charged in this domestic incident. The
[8:16] Speaker 3: NFL has still taken him off the field, and what
[8:19] Speaker 3: they could do is they could wait for the legal
[8:21] Speaker 3: process to play out, or they could just do it
[8:23] Speaker 3: now and potentially have this serve as his punishment. So
[8:26] Speaker 3: Josh Jacobs will not be on the field for the
[8:30] Speaker 3: Green Bay Packers, which is why they traded for a
[8:32] Speaker 3: running back, Caleb Johnson, yesterday. Meanwhile, the Denver Broncos also
[8:36] Speaker 3: face a similar situation with their star pass rusher, Jonathan Cooper,
[8:40] Speaker 3: he was also placed in the commissioner's exempt list. This
[8:42] Speaker 3: stems from an incident this past offseason, two incidents actually
[8:46] Speaker 3: involving a former girlfriend.
[8:49] Speaker 1: Cooper faces five charges.
[8:50] Speaker 3: Including secondary assault, which is a felony legal process ongoing,
[8:56] Speaker 3: but not on the field while it plays out.
[9:00] Speaker 1: NFL Network and GMFB, Sean Payton, for what it's worth,
[9:03] Speaker 1: today said they will follow the league when it comes
[9:05] Speaker 1: to Cooper. We're going to follow this coming up next
[9:07] Speaker 1: on the NFL Report, your quarterback report from the final
[9:11] Speaker 1: week of the preseason. So the preseason is mercifully over.
[9:19] Speaker 1: You might have missed some of these highlights. Let's just
[9:21] Speaker 1: look at some of the quarterbacks from the final week
[9:23] Speaker 1: of games, including the number one overall pick. That is
[9:25] Speaker 1: Fernando Mendoza. If you want to go back to Thursday,
[9:28] Speaker 1: the Raiders and the 49ers as the Raiders had a
[9:30] Speaker 1: home game in Vegas. Little play fake. And yeah, that's
[9:33] Speaker 1: not good. He had a little bit of a window,
[9:35] Speaker 1: kind of put too much gas on that thing. Mendoza
[9:37] Speaker 1: picked off by Tatum Bakun, the second year DB as
[9:42] Speaker 1: we get the second look. The Dylan Lauby hard play
[9:45] Speaker 1: fake and a little high, but Thune comes down with it.
[9:51] Speaker 1: The final numbers for the preseason for Fernando Mendoza, 25
[9:55] Speaker 1: of 45. He did throw a touchdown. He threw a
[9:58] Speaker 1: couple of INTs. he was sacked four times this by
[10:03] Speaker 1: Keon White the former Patriots first rounder a passer rating
[10:07] Speaker 1: Clint Kubiak stare to the sky of 59.5 it's going
[10:11] Speaker 1: to be Kirk Cousins week one even if it is
[10:13] Speaker 1: an official official but consider this From Josh Dubow from
[10:17] Speaker 1: the AP, Mendoza's rating of 59.5 in the preseason ranks
[10:21] Speaker 1: 32 out of 36 when it comes to first-round quarterbacks
[10:25] Speaker 1: who played in a preseason as a rookie. This in
[10:28] Speaker 1: the last 11 years, ahead of only Goff, Jameis, Richardson,
[10:34] Speaker 1: and Carson Wentz. Should be noted, Zach Wilson and Kenny
[10:37] Speaker 1: Pickett are in the top five, so just consider that.
[10:41] Speaker 1: Also consider... What Xavion Thomas did on Saturday afternoon in Nashville.
[10:49] Speaker 1: First play from scrimmage. We didn't speed that up. That's
[10:52] Speaker 1: real speed. That's ludicrous speed. The first round, or rather
[10:56] Speaker 1: the third round pick at LSU, the 89th overall pick
[10:59] Speaker 1: of the first play from scrimmage, gets Tyson Bajan to
[11:02] Speaker 1: hit him on a 97-yard touchdown. As Xavion had a
[11:07] Speaker 1: 179-yard game. That's total yardage, including touchdowns. including yards in
[11:12] Speaker 1: special teams as well. He had a 39-yard punt return
[11:17] Speaker 1: and a 22-yard kick return. If you're wondering if Xavion Thomas,
[11:23] Speaker 1: who caught five for 140, made the team, the answer
[11:26] Speaker 1: is yes, the young man made the football team. Where
[11:31] Speaker 1: does that 97-yard touchdown from Tyson Bajent rank? Longest TD
[11:36] Speaker 1: reception of the preseason ever. in the last 20 years.
[11:39] Speaker 1: Demoyer Stringfellow, anybody remember him in 2017? Raise your hand. Okay,
[11:45] Speaker 1: put it down. You're lying. Keelan Cole stuck around for
[11:48] Speaker 1: a little bit in 2011. Chasten West in 2011. Ed Gantz.
[11:50] Speaker 1: 2011 was a big year for big bombs, evidently. In
[11:57] Speaker 1: the preseason. Let's get to Green Bay. Love me some
[12:00] Speaker 1: Kyle McCord, former Syracuse quarterback, former Ohio State quarterback. He
[12:03] Speaker 1: put on a show. 22 of 35 for 226 and
[12:08] Speaker 1: four touchdowns. The first being to J. Michael Sturdivant for
[12:11] Speaker 1: 29 yards. This was a fun back and forth game.
[12:15] Speaker 1: It was Matt and Mike LaFleur, the LaFleur Bowl. But
[12:19] Speaker 1: every time the Cardinals score, Kyle McCord would answer. Here's
[12:23] Speaker 1: a 12-yard touchdown to Will Shepard, who also had an
[12:25] Speaker 1: 81-yard punt return for his score. So he had multiple
[12:29] Speaker 1: Lambeau leaps. And then Kyle McCord would twice hit Keyshawn Johnson,
[12:35] Speaker 1: the other Keyshawn Johnson. 28 yards there. And then, late
[12:42] Speaker 1: fourth quarter, look at the clock. Packers down three. This
[12:46] Speaker 1: is a game-winning touchdown with Keyshawn Johnson breaking tackles. And
[12:50] Speaker 1: Kyle McCord looks so good, it got him a trip
[12:53] Speaker 1: to Miami. He got traded on cut-down day. Adam Schefter tweet,
[12:58] Speaker 1: Kyle McCord to the Dolphins in exchange for a sixth-round pick.
[13:02] Speaker 1: Not next year, but in 2028. So he's now going
[13:07] Speaker 1: to be the backup to Malik Willis in Miami. Speaking
[13:11] Speaker 1: of the Packers, because it's all a Green Bay brain
[13:14] Speaker 1: trust in Miami, back in Green Bay. Josh Jacobs is
[13:19] Speaker 1: on the commissioner exempt list. This also from Adam. So
[13:23] Speaker 1: the Packers have a legitimate question at running back. What
[13:27] Speaker 1: do they do? Because this is what they have. Chris Brooks,
[13:32] Speaker 1: Caleb Johnson, and Marshawn Lloyd. They got Caleb Johnson the
[13:36] Speaker 1: second round pick or third round pick, I beg your pardon,
[13:40] Speaker 1: a year ago from the Steelers. So he's the new
[13:43] Speaker 1: guy in the room. Trevor Sikama back with us from
[13:46] Speaker 1: a fantasy perspective. You know, Matt LaFleur wants to run
[13:50] Speaker 1: the football or at least attempt to run the football.
[13:53] Speaker 1: Are you taking any of these guys or banking on
[13:56] Speaker 1: any of those guys? I am. I'm taking Marshawn Lloyd.
[14:00] Speaker 5: And I remember writing his scouting report a couple of
[14:02] Speaker 5: years ago when he was coming out of college. And
[14:05] Speaker 5: I liked him at South Carolina. I liked him at USC.
[14:08] Speaker 5: He was just hurt, but he's got the athletic ability.
[14:10] Speaker 5: I think he can be a dynamic back for them.
[14:13] Speaker 1: I really do.
[14:14] Speaker 5: When you look at this Green Bay team, they're right
[14:15] Speaker 5: around the middle of the pack when it came to
[14:17] Speaker 5: trying to establish the run on first down last year,
[14:20] Speaker 5: but they were bottom 10 in the NFL and EPA
[14:22] Speaker 5: per rush. They want that number to be a lot
[14:24] Speaker 5: higher this year, certainly. And Lloyd's the one who gives
[14:27] Speaker 5: them the dynamic ability to do that. Now, I think
[14:29] Speaker 5: that Caleb Johnson's an interesting ad for this team. I
[14:32] Speaker 5: didn't think that he was really a fit with what
[14:34] Speaker 5: Pittsburgh wanted to do. And when you look at Green Bay,
[14:37] Speaker 5: their inside and outside zone run percentages are phenomenal. Always
[14:40] Speaker 5: right around top 10 in the league. I feel like
[14:42] Speaker 5: that goes into what Caleb Johnson does well and his
[14:45] Speaker 5: vision as a back. But I do think that this
[14:47] Speaker 5: is Marshawn Lloyd's backfield when it comes to those early downs.
[14:50] Speaker 5: And I think he can surprise people.
[14:52] Speaker 1: Marshawn Lloyd, the former USC running back. He could be
[14:55] Speaker 1: the guy, although I'm with you here on Caleb Johnson. Trevor,
[14:59] Speaker 1: stick around. It didn't work for Caleb Johnson in Pittsburgh.
[15:01] Speaker 1: Last year, Arthur Smith calling plays. This year, Mike McCarthy
[15:04] Speaker 1: calling plays. And these names may jump off the screen
[15:07] Speaker 1: to you. These are all Steeler picks. First, second, and
[15:10] Speaker 1: third round going back to 2021. Look how many of
[15:13] Speaker 1: them are gone. Bronrick Jones just traded. Now he's coming
[15:16] Speaker 1: off an injury. to the Cowboys. Also, George Pickens traded
[15:20] Speaker 1: to the Cowboys. They got a good return here. Najee
[15:22] Speaker 1: Harris coming off the Achilles is now on his third team.
[15:25] Speaker 1: He's with the Giants, but that is a lot of
[15:28] Speaker 1: draft premium already out the door. There was no draft
[15:32] Speaker 1: premium on Jalen Daniels. The kid out of L.A., who
[15:36] Speaker 1: played for six years at K-State, has made the Buccaneers
[15:41] Speaker 1: as the number two quarterback to Baker Mayfield. Kansas Baker, pardon,
[15:45] Speaker 1: not K-State. He signed for only $ 25, 000, Trevor, as an
[15:53] Speaker 1: undrafted free agent. If you ever turned on Jayhawk football,
[15:57] Speaker 1: he was always fun to watch. Did you think, however,
[15:59] Speaker 1: that he'd be a legit QB2 and this fast?
[16:04] Speaker 5: I didn't know if that would happen now, but certainly
[16:07] Speaker 5: if you want to turn back the clock two, three
[16:09] Speaker 5: years ago, yes. I would have told you that when
[16:12] Speaker 5: we were watching Jalen Daniels as a sophomore, junior, when
[16:16] Speaker 5: he was at Kansas, he was lighting up scoreboards. He
[16:19] Speaker 5: was all over the field. He was making incredible plays
[16:23] Speaker 5: out of broken plays. And when things would go wrong,
[16:25] Speaker 5: he was always able to fix it. Yeah, he's a
[16:27] Speaker 5: smaller quarterback, but He had the arm strength to make
[16:30] Speaker 5: up for it. The big issue with him, Andrew, is
[16:31] Speaker 5: just the back injury, the back injuries and other injuries
[16:35] Speaker 5: that he dealt with over the last couple of seasons.
[16:36] Speaker 5: And unfortunately, I wondered, certainly with him going undrafted, I
[16:40] Speaker 5: wondered if it was like, man, is this just a
[16:42] Speaker 5: story of a player who is really talented, who the
[16:45] Speaker 5: injury bug bit him too hard by the time he
[16:46] Speaker 5: got to the NFL? Clearly not the case. Love the
[16:49] Speaker 5: fact that he's still able to showcase that talent. Love
[16:52] Speaker 5: that it's still there. Love that Tampa kept him as
[16:54] Speaker 5: their QB, too.
[16:55] Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely. Look, plenty of undrafted free agents who signed
[16:59] Speaker 1: for premier pennies, comparatively speaking, make the team. That's the
[17:03] Speaker 1: way this league works. It's what makes this league so
[17:06] Speaker 1: much fun and so great. But for one of those
[17:08] Speaker 1: guys to be a quarterback for 25,000 and to be
[17:11] Speaker 1: the number two, not the number three, is just nuts.
[17:15] Speaker 1: And keeping four is kind of the rage. Now, the Vikings,
[17:19] Speaker 1: I mentioned earlier, have already moved on from Max Brosmer,
[17:22] Speaker 1: maybe back to the practice squad. Brosmer stuck around and
[17:24] Speaker 1: played a little bit last year. But Atlanta and Minnesota
[17:27] Speaker 1: and Pittsburgh and surprisingly, Philadelphia all kept four initially.
[17:33] Speaker 6: Four quarterbacks, most important position in sports. I feel like
[17:38] Speaker 6: all those guys have value for our team. Some of them,
[17:43] Speaker 6: obviously some is short-term value, some is long-term value when
[17:46] Speaker 6: you think about Cole.
[17:48] Speaker 1: And so just as we went.
[17:49] Speaker 6: Through the process here, just thought it was the right
[17:52] Speaker 6: thing to do for our football team.
[17:55] Speaker 1: Howie Roseman keeping four quarterbacks. This is kind of the rage, Trevor.
[17:59] Speaker 6: Why?
[18:00] Speaker 5: Now, Howie's always thinking about, you know, from a capitalist perspective,
[18:04] Speaker 5: you know, I got to keep quarterbacks because who knows?
[18:07] Speaker 5: I could trade for one of them. I could get
[18:08] Speaker 5: extra draft picks, you know. So Howie keeping four. I
[18:11] Speaker 5: understand that one minute or Atlanta. OK, you understand that, right?
[18:16] Speaker 1: You don't know.
[18:16] Speaker 5: Pennix availability to hasn't played well. You get a veteran.
[18:19] Speaker 5: Jack Strand played well for him. So I guess I
[18:21] Speaker 5: get that one as well. Vikings, a little shocked to
[18:23] Speaker 5: see him keep four. But now that they cut Brosmer, OK,
[18:26] Speaker 5: that one makes sense. I'm pretty puzzled that the Steelers
[18:29] Speaker 5: kept four quarterbacks because if Aaron Rodgers goes down or
[18:33] Speaker 5: you bring him out for whatever reason, you're going to
[18:36] Speaker 5: one of your two young guys, right? You're going to
[18:38] Speaker 5: Will Howard. You're going to Drew Allen. You're going to
[18:40] Speaker 5: see what you have in them. And I'm very surprised
[18:43] Speaker 5: just because they only have four backup offensive linemen. One
[18:46] Speaker 5: of those quarterback spots, Mason Rudolph's spot specifically, could have
[18:48] Speaker 5: gone to, hey, another backup offensive line. I'm just pretty
[18:51] Speaker 5: shocked that the Steelers were the team to keep four quarterbacks.
[18:54] Speaker 1: Or if Rodgers goes down when they're actually winning and
[18:56] Speaker 1: they're in playoff position and you don't necessarily trust one
[19:00] Speaker 1: of those two kids to take over, you go with
[19:03] Speaker 1: Mason Rudolph and hope Aaron can come back soon. But
[19:06] Speaker 1: I'm with you. Browns kept four, but they put Dylan
[19:08] Speaker 1: Gabriel on IR. He woke up Friday morning evidently with
[19:11] Speaker 1: a bad back. Thank you, Trevor Sykema. Oh, by the way,
[19:13] Speaker 1: do you have NFL Plus? I know Trevor does, but
[19:16] Speaker 1: do you? Get 20% off an NFL Plus annual plan.
[19:19] Speaker 1: NFL Plus stream live local and primetime games on mobile.

[19:41] Speaker 1: The Rams had a lot of fun on social on Sunday.
[19:43] Speaker 1: I mean, you would, too, if you got a future
[19:44] Speaker 1: Hall of Famer back. Quarterbacks rejoice. This is when he
[19:48] Speaker 1: retired a couple of years ago. No, quarterbacks scramble. We
[19:51] Speaker 1: scrambled out to my favorite podcast. It's NFL Daily with
[19:55] Speaker 1: Greg Rosenthal and the true star of the show, of course,
[19:57] Speaker 1: Jordan Rodrigue.
[20:01] Speaker 7: You know, I've been saying for weeks that I think
[20:02] Speaker 7: this defense is going to really surprise people with how
[20:05] Speaker 7: multiple it is and how much it can rotate. even
[20:08] Speaker 7: on the field without subbing players out. There's so many
[20:11] Speaker 7: players in the front and the back that can play
[20:14] Speaker 7: multiple positions and can rotate all around each other and
[20:18] Speaker 7: really activate against a bunch of different types of personnels
[20:21] Speaker 7: without needing to come off the field. So if teams,
[20:23] Speaker 7: which we think they will, try to go quick game
[20:25] Speaker 7: on them or tempo, In order to try to mitigate
[20:27] Speaker 7: some of this pass rush that they'll see from miles Garrett,
[20:29] Speaker 7: et cetera, you are, you now have a counter punch
[20:32] Speaker 7: for that.
[20:33] Speaker 1: And that that's pretty worrisome.
[20:35] Speaker 7: I think when you factor in, you're not going to really,
[20:37] Speaker 7: really know what Aaron Donald's going to do week to week.
[20:40] Speaker 7: It's a mind game for everybody else because. we are
[20:45] Speaker 7: so we got so used to, and we never really
[20:47] Speaker 7: got used to, but we kind of got used to
[20:48] Speaker 7: all the stories of these opposing coaches talking about how,
[20:51] Speaker 7: when you play Aaron Donald, that's actually the only player
[20:54] Speaker 7: you're game planning around on defense for the Rams. That's
[20:57] Speaker 7: how much of the week that it takes up in
[20:58] Speaker 7: their meetings and how much of the, the reinstallation of
[21:01] Speaker 7: offensive line protections and blocks and slides and all these
[21:05] Speaker 7: different things that you have to focus on. And so
[21:07] Speaker 7: now the fact that he is going to be used
[21:09] Speaker 7: situationally and you don't, you won't be able to tendency
[21:11] Speaker 7: predict week over week.
[21:13] Speaker 1: That's a real problem, I think.
[21:14] Speaker 7: And I think it, it plays to the Rams benefit.
[21:17] Speaker 1: And I think they know that, which again is one
[21:19] Speaker 1: of the reasons.
[21:19] Speaker 7: Why among all of this other super team building thing,
[21:23] Speaker 7: just the way that they're doing it is also the
[21:25] Speaker 7: reason why the Rams have such a big target on
[21:27] Speaker 7: their back.
[21:28] Speaker 1: Jordan and Greg, NFL Channel has NFL Daily back next week,
[21:32] Speaker 1: 6 p.m. Eastern time. Nicky Minwari rehabbing the Seahawks' second-year
[21:36] Speaker 1: safety after the Donald signing tweeted this. No context. All
[21:41] Speaker 1: that for us? Yeah, Nick. Rams need to do all
[21:46] Speaker 1: that for you guys. I mean, they got Aaron Donald.
[21:48] Speaker 1: They also got Miles Garrett, who evidently can levitate. Did
[21:52] Speaker 1: you see this? This is from NFL Films, thing he
[21:55] Speaker 1: did with Will Anderson working out in the offseason. He levitated. Remember,
[21:59] Speaker 1: they're better at sports than you. Miles Garrett, Will Anderson. Fantastic.
[22:04] Speaker 1: Also good at sports, one George Kittle. Kyle Shanahan last week,
[22:09] Speaker 1: after the 49ers final preseason game, intimated that Kittle had
[22:14] Speaker 1: taken a step back in his rehab from a torn
[22:17] Speaker 1: Achilles in January. He kind of had to walk that
[22:20] Speaker 1: back today. We didn't think he was going to play, though,
[22:24] Speaker 1: and it was looking that way.
[22:25] Speaker 8: I think it would be much nicer to make that
[22:27] Speaker 8: decision before we left instead of having to go through
[22:29] Speaker 8: all that. It's also a long time that we're out there,
[22:31] Speaker 8: so to be away from the team for a week,
[22:33] Speaker 8: not just for camaraderie or anything, but just the training
[22:36] Speaker 8: staff and things like that and being away from meetings
[22:38] Speaker 8: is also a big deal, too. But hopefully these three
[22:41] Speaker 8: days that we have, these three practices, will go the
[22:43] Speaker 8: right way and make it an easy decision to get
[22:46] Speaker 8: him on the plane.
[22:47] Speaker 1: All right, so Kittle's going to practice a couple of
[22:49] Speaker 1: days this week, and then they'll decide whether or not
[22:50] Speaker 1: to fly with George Kittle to Melbourne. Meantime, in Buffalo,
[22:54] Speaker 1: this is cool. Josh Allen, again, is going to wear
[22:56] Speaker 1: home game day hats designed by kids at a Buffalo
[23:00] Speaker 1: Children's Hospital. It's raising money. They're called the Billistration Caps.
[23:04] Speaker 1: Last year, they brought in over $ 140, 000 for the Golisano
[23:08] Speaker 1: Children's Hospital, and it's Patricia Allen Fund. Did you notice
[23:13] Speaker 1: what Joe Fignano did this year? The seven-year college player
[23:18] Speaker 1: out of Maine and Connecticut threw for 509 yards, and
[23:24] Speaker 1: he made the Ravens as QB3. How are you?
[23:29] Speaker 4: Good.
[23:29] Speaker 1: Everything good? Everything's good. Feeling good?
[23:32] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[23:33] Speaker 1: You made it. You made it. Yeah, you made it.
[23:36] Speaker 6: Congrats.
[23:37] Speaker 1: Congrats. Are you serious? Yeah, you made it. Can you
[23:40] Speaker 1: believe it? You made it. Can I sit down?
[23:44] Speaker 6: Yes.
[23:45] Speaker 1: You made it. I thought they were going to let
[23:47] Speaker 1: me go, and then they just surprised me and said
[23:49] Speaker 1: I made it. Here you go, honey. I made the team.
[23:56] Speaker 8: Did you?
[23:57] Speaker 1: Yeah. You made the team, huh? Yeah, I made the team.
[24:02] Speaker 2: I knew you would.
[24:04] Speaker 1: I knew you would, sweetheart. All right, that's pretty cool.
[24:08] Speaker 1: Call mom and dad saying you made the team. And again,
[24:10] Speaker 1: Joe Finiano played seven years of college football at Maine
[24:14] Speaker 1: and at Connecticut. Late in the afternoon, the Cowboys have
[24:16] Speaker 1: waived Joe Milton. How about that one? Sam Howell is QB3.
[24:20] Speaker 1: I'm Andrew Siciliano. See you tomorrow, everybody. So long. Get
