[0:07] Speaker 1: School is in session for a few more teams.
[0:09] Speaker 2: Rookies who reported the training camp today more signs that
[0:13] Speaker 2: were getting closer to real football. Seahawks can be running
[0:17] Speaker 2: back to Darien Price is one of the few new
[0:19] Speaker 2: faces for the Super Bowl champs, and a lot will
[0:22] Speaker 2: be expected.
[0:23] Speaker 1: Can he deliver?
[0:24] Speaker 2: Price joins The Insiders to let us know and fantasy
[0:28] Speaker 2: drafts are right around the corner, and our Michael f
[0:31] Speaker 2: Florio is here to plant his flag on some fantasy
[0:34] Speaker 2: takes he's sure about for this season. Welcome to another
[0:39] Speaker 2: edition of The Insiders. I'm Steve White our Los Angeles Studios,
[0:42] Speaker 2: and I'm here with Ian Rappaport and.
[0:44] Speaker 1: Mike Garafullo and guys.
[0:46] Speaker 2: Five more teams had their rookies report to training camp today,
[0:49] Speaker 2: the Panthers, the Patriots, the Bills, the Dolphins, and the Texans.
[0:55] Speaker 1: You see their veterans will.
[0:56] Speaker 2: Be joining them in a couple more days. But it's
[0:59] Speaker 2: more and more rookies are in camps. But guys, we're
[1:01] Speaker 2: gonna start in New England, where the Patriots plays linebacker
[1:05] Speaker 2: Harold Landry on the physically unable to perform list today.
[1:08] Speaker 1: Landy was dealing with a knee injury.
[1:10] Speaker 2: Last season and missed team activities in the spring.
[1:15] Speaker 1: Guys.
[1:15] Speaker 2: Another thing we're keeping our eyes on with the Patriots
[1:17] Speaker 2: is cornerback Christian Gonzales and his next contract. So Ian,
[1:21] Speaker 2: where things stand right now with the cornerbacks potential extension, Yeah, no.
[1:25] Speaker 3: Doubt one of the biggest storylines out of the New
[1:28] Speaker 3: England Patriots. They got a lot of young stars on
[1:30] Speaker 3: this team. A lot of guys are going to be
[1:32] Speaker 3: up for new contracts in the coming years, but certainly
[1:35] Speaker 3: Christian Gonzalez right now comes to the forefront, one of
[1:38] Speaker 3: the best corners in the NFL. Has in fact been
[1:41] Speaker 3: seeking a new contract to two sides have been in
[1:44] Speaker 3: negotiations for some time. And yes, obviously the Patriots wants
[1:47] Speaker 3: a new deal for Christian Gonzales and he wants a deal,
[1:50] Speaker 3: and if he gets one, would no doubt make him
[1:53] Speaker 3: one of the, if not the highest paid cornerbacks in
[1:56] Speaker 3: the NFL.
[1:57] Speaker 4: But it is really not that simple.
[1:58] Speaker 3: Because there's another cornerback situation going on in Seattle with
[2:02] Speaker 3: star corner Devin Witherspoon, now also by the way, have
[2:06] Speaker 3: the same agent at Win Sports. The two negotiations have
[2:09] Speaker 3: been going on concurrently certainly seems like Witherspoon is further
[2:13] Speaker 3: along in his negotiation than Gonzales is in his negotiation.
[2:18] Speaker 3: The Seahawks have a minunderstanding made an offer upwards of
[2:21] Speaker 3: thirty million dollars, one that would make Witherspoon among the,
[2:24] Speaker 3: if not the, highest paid corner in the NFL.
[2:27] Speaker 4: No resolution yet on that deal.
[2:29] Speaker 3: But wouldn't be surprised if Witherspoon gets done first and
[2:32] Speaker 3: then Goazalz gets done.
[2:34] Speaker 5: At some point shortly after with the market set.
[2:36] Speaker 6: Mike, Yeah, Seahawks and Witherspoon have had a widespread for
[2:40] Speaker 6: a while.
[2:40] Speaker 7: Here.
[2:41] Speaker 6: We'll see about Gonzales here right, some of these deals
[2:43] Speaker 6: being done running backs as well, looking at one guy
[2:47] Speaker 6: who's going to go first and who's going to go second.
[2:48] Speaker 6: So we'll see what happens with Gonzales, who, by the way,
[2:50] Speaker 6: had allegedly poor pre draft visits a couple of years
[2:54] Speaker 6: ago that led some teams to say, no, we're not
[2:57] Speaker 6: going to take them. Those teams surely regretting not taking
[2:59] Speaker 6: one of the corners in the game right now. As
[3:01] Speaker 6: for the Patriots, I'll be up there early in training
[3:03] Speaker 6: camp and I'll be just looking forward to the overall
[3:05] Speaker 6: vibe because we know how hard it is when you
[3:08] Speaker 6: lose the Super Bowl to shake that vibe and to
[3:11] Speaker 6: not let it hang over your season. Combine that with
[3:13] Speaker 6: the fact that Mike Rabel he had his all field
[3:17] Speaker 6: situation which led him to miss time around the draft,
[3:20] Speaker 6: with his involvement with Diana Rassini, the reporter that he
[3:23] Speaker 6: had to address during the spring. So I just feel
[3:25] Speaker 6: like once training camp officially opens for the Patriots, and
[3:28] Speaker 6: once the practices start to get stacked, there's going to
[3:31] Speaker 6: be this feeling of finally looking forward and getting to
[3:33] Speaker 6: week one where.
[3:34] Speaker 1: They'll have to face the team that beat them in
[3:36] Speaker 1: the Super Bowl.
[3:37] Speaker 6: So sorry about that, guys, but eventually you will be
[3:39] Speaker 6: able to move forward.
[3:41] Speaker 1: Yeah, mich you know what's a team safety field? It
[3:43] Speaker 1: gets all about football.
[3:44] Speaker 2: But that Christian Gonzalez Devin Witherspoon kind of jockeying for
[3:48] Speaker 2: the next contract, it's going to be interesting because, like
[3:50] Speaker 2: you said, Ian, they're represented by the same agency and
[3:52] Speaker 2: that one dollar more thing tends to be something that
[3:55] Speaker 2: plays with the egos of players. Now let's sake get
[3:58] Speaker 2: onto Arizona, where the Cardinals are back in action Wednesday
[4:01] Speaker 2: is rookies and bets report to training camp. There is
[4:04] Speaker 2: still no resolution though, at a quarterback Jacoby Pressett's contract situation,
[4:08] Speaker 2: as we wait to see if he reports tomorrow. So
[4:13] Speaker 2: Ian do you expect Jacoby Presett to be with the
[4:16] Speaker 2: team tomorrow and what more can you.
[4:17] Speaker 1: Tell us about the status of his contract dispute. We
[4:21] Speaker 1: have seen very, very few.
[4:22] Speaker 4: Holdouts over the last several years.
[4:24] Speaker 3: The CBA has made it incredibly punitive for a player
[4:27] Speaker 3: to hold out, and honestly, it just doesn't make a
[4:30] Speaker 3: ton of sense to give up guaranteed money.
[4:33] Speaker 4: What we might see.
[4:34] Speaker 3: Though, is for players who do not have new contracts
[4:37] Speaker 3: and make the mistake Koby Presett do to make about
[4:39] Speaker 3: five million or so dollars he wants a new one,
[4:42] Speaker 3: we seem more likely as a hold in, which is
[4:46] Speaker 3: a player saying, you know what, I'm under contract, I'm
[4:49] Speaker 3: going to be here, I'm not giving up my guaranteed money,
[4:51] Speaker 3: not putting myself at risk.
[4:53] Speaker 4: You could watch me just stand there until you get
[4:54] Speaker 4: a new deal done.
[4:56] Speaker 3: My understanding of the situation is the Arizona Cardinals are
[4:59] Speaker 3: in a gree that Jacoby Brissett deserves more money. The
[5:03] Speaker 3: two sides have been negotiating for several months. They have
[5:06] Speaker 3: not yet agreed on a number, but they do believe
[5:10] Speaker 3: that he is doing a new deal and deserves one
[5:14] Speaker 3: their starter going into the season. But the fact that
[5:17] Speaker 3: he was there at mandatory mini camp certainly makes me
[5:20] Speaker 3: think like holding out is probably not in the cards
[5:23] Speaker 3: for Jacoby Preset.
[5:25] Speaker 6: Yeah, and Holden's We've seen a lot of holdens with
[5:27] Speaker 6: non quarterbacks. It's hard for a quarterback to hold in.
[5:29] Speaker 6: We talked about this potentially with Baker Mayfield. You got
[5:32] Speaker 6: to get in there, You've got to get the reps.
[5:33] Speaker 6: And at some point Jacoby Brissett, though he has that experience,
[5:36] Speaker 6: has to get those reps and has to start working
[5:38] Speaker 6: with this Cardinals offense to put.
[5:40] Speaker 1: His stamp on the fact that yes.
[5:41] Speaker 6: I am the starter here with Gardner Minshew also in
[5:44] Speaker 6: the building as well, so Jacoby Brissett, and this situation
[5:48] Speaker 6: feels like at some point in the near future, I
[5:50] Speaker 6: can't tell you exactly when, but whether it's a couple
[5:53] Speaker 6: of days or a week or whatever, but it feels
[5:55] Speaker 6: like it will eventually be resolved here, especially because as
[5:58] Speaker 6: Ian pointed out, the Cardinals have been clear we want
[6:00] Speaker 6: to do something for you.
[6:01] Speaker 1: The problem is when you.
[6:02] Speaker 6: Get to the quarterback market, the numbers tend to get
[6:05] Speaker 6: so big and you say, okay, we're going to be
[6:07] Speaker 6: our starter, but we can't all of a sudden vault
[6:09] Speaker 6: you up to where these other guys are.
[6:10] Speaker 1: So they got to figure this out, get this done.
[6:13] Speaker 6: I believe as something happens in the near future, but
[6:16] Speaker 6: can't tell you exactly when.
[6:17] Speaker 2: Well, well, see, you know, first year head coach Michael
[6:19] Speaker 2: Floor wants to get his quarterback situation stabilized as much
[6:22] Speaker 2: as possible, and nobody would be happier to have Jacobe
[6:24] Speaker 2: Grissette back than tight end Trey McBride, who put up
[6:27] Speaker 2: big numbers with perset last year. All right, really good stuff, guys,
[6:30] Speaker 2: we'll be back to you later. Well, the Dolphins and
[6:32] Speaker 2: linebacker Jordan Brooks agreed to a three year, fifty one
[6:35] Speaker 2: point three million dollar deal with thirty five leaguing guaranteed.
[6:38] Speaker 2: According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Brooks recorded an NFL high
[6:42] Speaker 2: one hundred and eighty three tackles last season and was
[6:45] Speaker 2: named first team All Pro. So with that, let's welcome
[6:49] Speaker 2: in our cam well for more on the Dolphins and
[6:51] Speaker 2: that Jordan Brooks extension.
[6:53] Speaker 1: Cam.
[6:53] Speaker 2: How important was it for Miami to get this deal done?
[6:58] Speaker 1: Yeah, this is huge, Steve.
[6:59] Speaker 7: Another example of Miami's new brass taking care of one
[7:03] Speaker 7: of their core pieces. As you mentioned, three years up
[7:05] Speaker 7: to fifty one point three million dollars for their all
[7:07] Speaker 7: pro linebacker.
[7:08] Speaker 1: Coming off a career year.
[7:09] Speaker 7: And I texted one Dolphins player about this Brooks deal
[7:12] Speaker 7: earlier today. He told me nobody in our locker room
[7:15] Speaker 7: deserves to be paid more than JB. And that speaks
[7:18] Speaker 7: volumes to me because it goes into the offseason plan.
[7:21] Speaker 7: Some may ask why is a rebuilding team like Miami
[7:24] Speaker 7: paying big money for a VET. The old saying is
[7:28] Speaker 7: players pay attention to the players you pay and the
[7:31] Speaker 7: leaders you pay. And that's what this guy is. Jordan
[7:34] Speaker 7: Brooks a leader, a core guy they want to build around,
[7:37] Speaker 7: along with Aaron Brewer, along with Devon a Chan, two
[7:39] Speaker 7: guys they already paid earlier this offseason. He's tough, he physical,
[7:44] Speaker 7: and he sets a tone for them going forward. And
[7:46] Speaker 7: for the first time in a long time, this Dolphins
[7:48] Speaker 7: team is going to go into training camp with no drama,
[7:50] Speaker 7: with no contract questions, and it really is a sign
[7:53] Speaker 7: of their new GM John Eric Sullivan backing up his word,
[7:57] Speaker 7: he said that he was going to prioritize paying the
[8:00] Speaker 7: core players. I mentioned it a chan Brewer and now Brooks.
[8:03] Speaker 7: He did that, and now it's time to see how
[8:06] Speaker 7: quickly this Dolphins team can become the one they hope
[8:09] Speaker 7: to be in the years ahead.
[8:10] Speaker 1: I know John in Miami, very very interesting camp. Well
[8:14] Speaker 1: a's me no game.
[8:14] Speaker 2: Also, the Dolphins rookies reported to training camp today.
[8:17] Speaker 1: Who's someone you're keeping your eye on?
[8:20] Speaker 7: Yeah, rookies back and I can't wait to see their
[8:23] Speaker 7: first round corner Chris Johnson from San Diego State. He
[8:26] Speaker 7: was actually their second first round pick. Caden Proctor, who
[8:29] Speaker 7: will play left guard, is the other guy. But Chris
[8:31] Speaker 7: Johnson is a guy who was very smart, and Jeff
[8:34] Speaker 7: Haffley said he was one of his favorite players in
[8:36] Speaker 7: the draft. We got to talk to him on NFL
[8:38] Speaker 7: Network earlier this offseason and he told me, I know
[8:41] Speaker 7: the pressure that comes with my spot. I was drafted
[8:44] Speaker 7: essentially with the compensation that came from the Jaylen Waddle trade,
[8:47] Speaker 7: and I know I can be a foundational player here.
[8:50] Speaker 7: I can be a guy they build around, and I
[8:51] Speaker 7: want to be here forever. And that's the type of
[8:53] Speaker 7: confidence I want to see from a number one corner.
[8:55] Speaker 7: And the reality is he's immediately the number one corner
[8:58] Speaker 7: on a team that is trying to rebuild, and so
[9:01] Speaker 7: he may see a lot of AJ Brown, he may
[9:02] Speaker 7: see a lot of DJ Moore. He's gonna get thrown
[9:04] Speaker 7: in the fire and we get to see how he responds.
[9:07] Speaker 7: What's really cool about his game is he plays inside
[9:09] Speaker 7: and slot corner, which is usually a lot for a rookie,
[9:12] Speaker 7: but as intelligence as something they really loved coming out
[9:15] Speaker 7: of their draft, and maybe a dark horse their third
[9:17] Speaker 7: round pick, Caleb Douglas, who's a wide receiver. That wide
[9:20] Speaker 7: receiver room is wide open. Somebody's got to be a
[9:23] Speaker 7: guy that Malik Willis can throw the ball to. Chris Bell,
[9:26] Speaker 7: their other receiver they drafted starting on non football injury
[9:29] Speaker 7: list coming off of torn ACL from college, and they
[9:32] Speaker 7: take him some time to get up, So Caleb Douglas
[9:34] Speaker 7: has a chance to maybe earn a starting role and
[9:37] Speaker 7: earn himself an opportunity catching passes from Malik Willis.
[9:40] Speaker 1: It's gonna be fun to watch those two guys.
[9:41] Speaker 2: Yeah, Cam, they got to be of that wide receiver
[9:43] Speaker 2: group and like you said, Johnson moving in right to
[9:45] Speaker 2: the starting line up at corner.
[9:47] Speaker 1: That was a position of need.
[9:49] Speaker 2: By the way, Cam, nice combo with the sport code
[9:52] Speaker 2: right there.
[9:53] Speaker 1: We're going to be back with you just a little
[9:55] Speaker 1: bit later on good stuff. I want my Texas quarterback CJ.
[9:59] Speaker 2: Shroud dude a re established himself as one of the
[10:01] Speaker 2: better quarterbacks in the NFL.
[10:03] Speaker 1: And earn a big payday. Our Jane Slater has more.
[10:07] Speaker 2: Plus, we sit down with a rookie that's expected to
[10:10] Speaker 2: put on a show in twenty twenty six, shatle.
[10:13] Speaker 1: Seahawks running back Jadarian Price joins the Insiders.
[10:17] Speaker 8: Next, he love Jedarian? Yes, sir, you doing but John
[10:30] Speaker 8: Shdier with the Seahawks.
[10:32] Speaker 1: Yes, sir.
[10:33] Speaker 9: Hey man, we're getting ready to pick you right here. Brother, Yes,
[10:37] Speaker 9: we're really excited for you.
[10:38] Speaker 1: Man.
[10:39] Speaker 9: All your stuff throughout the spring was outstanding, so fun
[10:41] Speaker 9: watching you play, and man, we can't wait to make
[10:44] Speaker 9: you a Seahawks.
[10:44] Speaker 1: But is that appreciation right?
[10:48] Speaker 9: Hey, here's our head coach.
[10:49] Speaker 10: Congratulations, brother, h You're a Seahawks man, go unpick Congratulations brother,
[11:04] Speaker 10: go boy.
[11:05] Speaker 1: How you feeling feeling great? Man?
[11:07] Speaker 8: I'll ride the ball man.
[11:08] Speaker 1: That's awesome. Who you with right now?
[11:10] Speaker 9: I'm with the family, everybody.
[11:12] Speaker 1: That great brother, that's great.
[11:13] Speaker 6: Congratulations the draft call that made Jidarian Price get it right,
[11:20] Speaker 6: Darian Price a Seattle Seahawk, because you're going to hear
[11:25] Speaker 6: that name a lot this year. You're going to say
[11:26] Speaker 6: that name a lot this year. He's going to get
[11:28] Speaker 6: the football out this year and hopefully he's going to
[11:30] Speaker 6: join the insiders up Blach this year. So we appreciate
[11:32] Speaker 6: your time here, Ja Darien getting ready to really get
[11:35] Speaker 6: into training camp here and really get your rookie season going.
[11:39] Speaker 1: I know it was a busy spring. How was the
[11:41] Speaker 1: spring for you?
[11:42] Speaker 6: Because everything we heard out of Seattle was how impressive
[11:44] Speaker 6: you were from that running back position.
[11:48] Speaker 11: Yeah, it was everything that everybody told me it was
[11:50] Speaker 11: going to be and what I expected, but even more
[11:53] Speaker 11: to be honest, you know, being on spotlight in many
[11:57] Speaker 11: many areas, it was a lot to handle. But you know,
[12:00] Speaker 11: understanding that this is a dream come true. And when
[12:03] Speaker 11: I finally stepped on on the into the facility, I
[12:06] Speaker 11: realized it's time and the work.
[12:09] Speaker 3: You know, it's been a long off season for you,
[12:11] Speaker 3: as it is for all of the drafted players.
[12:14] Speaker 4: You know, you get done with the.
[12:15] Speaker 3: Bowl season, you get the Combine, you go really right
[12:18] Speaker 3: into rookie camp, then you got OTA's in mini camp
[12:20] Speaker 3: and all, and it can really be a grind, especially
[12:23] Speaker 3: because guys are training so hard for the Combine and beyond.
[12:27] Speaker 3: Now that the summer is sadly basically over, how do
[12:30] Speaker 3: you feel and were you able to get your body
[12:33] Speaker 3: back to a point where you can kind of hit
[12:34] Speaker 3: the ground running for the next four or five months.
[12:38] Speaker 11: Yeah, considering I haven't really played a football game since
[12:42] Speaker 11: December of twenty twenty five, Yeah, I'm I'm I'm super
[12:47] Speaker 11: healthy and just continuing to you know, learn the game
[12:51] Speaker 11: of football and learn how I can improve my position,
[12:55] Speaker 11: but also you know, being a better person and involved
[12:59] Speaker 11: in the community and things like that, and just you know,
[13:01] Speaker 11: as I step into this new role and journey in life.
[13:06] Speaker 6: Jo Dari, we know what the Seahawks running back depth
[13:08] Speaker 6: chart looks like. I mean, Kevin Walker now in Kansas City.
[13:11] Speaker 6: You've got Zach Charbonay working his way back as well.
[13:15] Speaker 6: You're gonna, like I said, you're gonna get the football
[13:17] Speaker 6: a bunch. You're gonna get it early. I know, we
[13:19] Speaker 6: talked a lot coming into the draft about your workload,
[13:22] Speaker 6: and if you weren't at Notre Dame, that workload would
[13:25] Speaker 6: have been a lot higher because Jeremiah Love in that
[13:28] Speaker 6: backfield with you as well. How ready are you to
[13:32] Speaker 6: take the football to take the brunt of the work
[13:34] Speaker 6: if called upon early in this season?
[13:37] Speaker 11: Yeah, I'm ready. This is everything I've been asking for
[13:40] Speaker 11: since I started playing football. And now that I'm a
[13:43] Speaker 11: part of a great team with a great offensive line,
[13:46] Speaker 11: great offensive group led by you know, the offense coordinator
[13:50] Speaker 11: and then led by Sam you know, it's the great
[13:52] Speaker 11: situation to be in and I'm just super blessed to
[13:54] Speaker 11: be a part of it. But I'm ready for any
[13:56] Speaker 11: challenge that comes comes at me. And you know, whether
[13:59] Speaker 11: it ends up being thirty carries a game or fifteen,
[14:01] Speaker 11: you know, I'm ready for it.
[14:03] Speaker 3: You know, I'm looking at that schedule, Jadarian right over
[14:06] Speaker 3: your shoulder.
[14:07] Speaker 4: We're showing it.
[14:07] Speaker 3: And Week two the Arizona Cardinals, and obviously you're going
[14:11] Speaker 3: to be facing the defense of the Cardinals, but on
[14:13] Speaker 3: the other side of the ball, your old college teammate,
[14:15] Speaker 3: Jeremiah Love, who you know. It seems certainly seemed like
[14:18] Speaker 3: from the outside looking in. You guys had a great
[14:21] Speaker 3: working relationship in the room, sharing carriages, just really existing.
[14:25] Speaker 5: To me, I think probably the best backfield.
[14:27] Speaker 4: In the country.
[14:29] Speaker 3: As the Cardinals get ready to report and it's going
[14:31] Speaker 3: to be you know, imminently, have you heard from him?
[14:35] Speaker 4: What are your thoughts on his situation?
[14:37] Speaker 3: And then you know, ione also want to ask like,
[14:40] Speaker 3: are you guys going to be competing?
[14:43] Speaker 1: Yeah, of course we'll be competing.
[14:45] Speaker 11: You know, we've we've always been competing at Notre Dame,
[14:48] Speaker 11: but we also helped each other succeed and get to
[14:51] Speaker 11: where we're at now and being able to face each
[14:53] Speaker 11: other twice a year, and that first jersey swap is
[14:55] Speaker 11: going to be pretty fun, as we already did a
[14:58] Speaker 11: couple of weeks ago. But yeah, we still got a
[15:02] Speaker 11: group chat with our Notreame running backs. That's that's still
[15:04] Speaker 11: live and we're talking in every day. So just hearing
[15:07] Speaker 11: what's going on with him in Arizona and what's going
[15:09] Speaker 11: on with me in Seattle, and everyone's excited for this matchup,
[15:12] Speaker 11: so I'm ready.
[15:14] Speaker 6: He's a TV professional. He saw he was showing the
[15:16] Speaker 6: jersey swops. He's explained in the middle of his answer
[15:19] Speaker 6: to what was happening there.
[15:20] Speaker 1: It was pretty good. Yes, uh J Darin.
[15:24] Speaker 6: When when a team is coming off a Super Bowl
[15:25] Speaker 6: win you come in as a rookie, I was curious
[15:28] Speaker 6: whether it's a rookie or a free agent.
[15:29] Speaker 1: You weren't there for this past year. Are you kind
[15:31] Speaker 1: of looking.
[15:32] Speaker 6: At them and saying, oh, I can see that hunger
[15:34] Speaker 6: that they want even more, that it's back to work
[15:37] Speaker 6: for them, and they got their eyes forward. Give me
[15:38] Speaker 6: give me your view as sort of an outsider, who's
[15:41] Speaker 6: got an inside.
[15:42] Speaker 1: View here.
[15:45] Speaker 11: As an outsider coming in. You know, I've always been
[15:47] Speaker 11: a part of a program that had the highest expectations
[15:51] Speaker 11: of yourself. You expect to win every game in the
[15:53] Speaker 11: college level of NFL level is different. But these guys
[15:56] Speaker 11: won the championship. They won, they're the best football team
[15:59] Speaker 11: in the world. So just being able to they coming
[16:02] Speaker 11: into open arms and accepting me and you know, guys
[16:05] Speaker 11: in the in the in the running back room giving
[16:08] Speaker 11: me tips and teaching me the ways and everyone else.
[16:11] Speaker 11: You know, it's it's really it's not intimidating at all.
[16:14] Speaker 11: It's something that I've I'm really grateful for because you
[16:17] Speaker 11: walked into a culture that really, you know, understands process
[16:22] Speaker 11: over results, and that's how I've always been driven with
[16:26] Speaker 11: my mindset.
[16:26] Speaker 3: So yeah, I wanted to ask you a little bit
[16:29] Speaker 3: about Notre Dame sort of as they compare to the Seahawks,
[16:33] Speaker 3: and you guys have a ton of success in South Bend.
[16:36] Speaker 3: Now you come to, as you said, the best team
[16:38] Speaker 3: in the NFL culture wise, coaching wise.
[16:42] Speaker 4: Has there been anything.
[16:43] Speaker 3: You've noticed where you're like, all right, like this worked
[16:46] Speaker 3: in college, and this same philosophy or whatever it is
[16:49] Speaker 3: works here in this organization.
[16:51] Speaker 5: Any any similarities between the two.
[16:55] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[16:56] Speaker 11: One thing that I really noticed was the importance of
[16:59] Speaker 11: getting the guys together, whether that's a team event outside
[17:02] Speaker 11: of the facility like we did in the offseason, or
[17:07] Speaker 11: what we do like walking talks where we have a vet,
[17:10] Speaker 11: get like ten guys and we all like ten guys
[17:13] Speaker 11: in each group with the vets and we just talk
[17:15] Speaker 11: about your life, talk about where you're from, what's your motivation,
[17:19] Speaker 11: what's your why, and really getting to know everybody on
[17:21] Speaker 11: your team.
[17:22] Speaker 1: I think that's important.
[17:23] Speaker 11: It starts from the ground up, you know, just being
[17:26] Speaker 11: able to plant those season and get to know each
[17:28] Speaker 11: other and build that foundation together.
[17:32] Speaker 1: Oh, it's late July, early September. September ninth will be
[17:34] Speaker 1: here before you know it.
[17:35] Speaker 6: Jadarian Price and his Seahawks team teammates getting ready for
[17:39] Speaker 6: the title defense.
[17:41] Speaker 1: Get your rest, pal, I'm telling you that workload is coming.
[17:44] Speaker 6: We appreciate you taking some time out to join us
[17:46] Speaker 6: and don't be a stranger.
[17:47] Speaker 1: Come back to the insiders. Yes, I appreciate y'all. Thank you. Man.
[17:52] Speaker 2: All right, one of the team's goney for the Seahawks
[17:54] Speaker 2: Toller the Houston Texans, and they are back to work
[17:56] Speaker 2: ahead of the twenty twenty sixth season as rookies.
[17:58] Speaker 1: You're portant the training camp.
[18:00] Speaker 2: The veterans are scheduled to report on July twenty eighth,
[18:04] Speaker 2: And let's welcome in James Slater for more on the
[18:06] Speaker 2: Texans heading into twenty twenty six And Jane, we know
[18:10] Speaker 2: that the Texans picked up CJ. Stroud's fifth your option,
[18:13] Speaker 2: but they haven't signed him to an extension.
[18:15] Speaker 1: How much of a proof year is this for Stroud?
[18:20] Speaker 1: It's a big prove it year.
[18:21] Speaker 12: And look, we talked about this and had a little
[18:23] Speaker 12: fun with it last week. It's just a haircut, but
[18:27] Speaker 12: it's showing you that he's trying to do something a
[18:29] Speaker 12: little bit different, and by all accounts, that sounds what
[18:33] Speaker 12: he's doing this offseason. You know, the big topic was
[18:36] Speaker 12: obviously that perplexing and frustrating game in New England.
[18:39] Speaker 1: If you're a.
[18:39] Speaker 12: Texans fan and you've buried that one, a quick refresher
[18:43] Speaker 12: for interceptions of Pick six, completing just forty three percent
[18:46] Speaker 12: of his passes, his QBR was twenty two point two,
[18:50] Speaker 12: fifth lowest in the playoffs last season, third worst in
[18:53] Speaker 12: the Texans playoff history. And for context, you if you
[18:57] Speaker 12: just spiked the ball in every snap, your qbr' is
[18:59] Speaker 12: thirty nine zo point six. Now, I asked a few
[19:02] Speaker 12: folks in Houston hal Stroud has responded this off season,
[19:05] Speaker 12: particularly with the contract situation, and they said he's responding well.
[19:09] Speaker 12: In fact, reminder, last off season, I was told he
[19:12] Speaker 12: was dealing with some shoulder soreness, so that hampered him
[19:15] Speaker 12: a little bit in.
[19:16] Speaker 1: The off season. This off season, he's.
[19:18] Speaker 12: Been working out with Higgins and Jalen Knowle, and I
[19:21] Speaker 12: was told he's looked sharp. In fact, one person told
[19:24] Speaker 12: me this is the best off season he's had. So
[19:26] Speaker 12: they're really hoping that that translates into training camp. It's
[19:30] Speaker 12: also helped a little bit Steve that they're at least
[19:33] Speaker 12: putting some attention on that offensive line. Now, his numbers
[19:36] Speaker 12: for getting sacked were I think in the twenty three
[19:38] Speaker 12: area compared to fifty six the year before, So small
[19:42] Speaker 12: improvement for him there. But he looked like he was
[19:44] Speaker 12: under duress at times, and he does need to make
[19:47] Speaker 12: some better decisions in the pocket.
[19:50] Speaker 1: That was also an issue for him.
[19:52] Speaker 2: Yeah, there were times last year, especially late last season,
[19:54] Speaker 2: he looked bamboozl, didn't quite look like the same guy.
[19:56] Speaker 2: But I'm hearing the same things you are, Jane about
[19:58] Speaker 2: the work that he's putting in. Thing that can also
[20:00] Speaker 2: help him is improving the running game. That has been
[20:03] Speaker 2: an emphasis to Houston. What steps have they taken to
[20:06] Speaker 2: do so well?
[20:09] Speaker 12: They went out and got David Montgomery, which is huge,
[20:11] Speaker 12: and I've told that he's already been so big for
[20:14] Speaker 12: that running back room. In fact, he's been having dinners
[20:17] Speaker 12: over at his house and he's really been a resource
[20:20] Speaker 12: for these guys off the field. But I was told, Look,
[20:23] Speaker 12: they went out and got David Montgomery, but don't expect
[20:26] Speaker 12: him to be their lead back.
[20:28] Speaker 1: Their goal right now.
[20:30] Speaker 12: The vision is to have him and Woody Marx split
[20:33] Speaker 12: those reps. And why wouldn't you want that?
[20:35] Speaker 1: Last season, Woody.
[20:36] Speaker 12: Marks you see the numbers right there, he led the
[20:38] Speaker 12: team with seven hundred and three rushing yards. Nick Kaylee,
[20:42] Speaker 12: this will be his second year as the OC, and
[20:45] Speaker 12: so I've told everyone's a little bit more comfortable with
[20:48] Speaker 12: him and they're settling in. So hopefully some of these pieces.
[20:52] Speaker 1: Around c J. Stroud are going to step up.
[20:55] Speaker 12: But you know, when you look at this defense, Steve,
[20:58] Speaker 12: they cannot win what they've got on that side of
[21:01] Speaker 12: the ball. They absolutely need not only c J. Streuld,
[21:04] Speaker 12: but the rest of this team to step up because
[21:07] Speaker 12: it's just unfortunate when you look at some of their
[21:09] Speaker 12: efforts and the play of this team that they're finding
[21:12] Speaker 12: themselves in back to back seasons eliminated in the divisional game.
[21:16] Speaker 1: Yeah, that offense can catch up just a little bit.
[21:19] Speaker 2: That defense has got their backs, all right, Dan, really
[21:22] Speaker 2: really good stuff.
[21:23] Speaker 1: Thanks for that insight.
[21:24] Speaker 2: Again, Bill's quarterback Josh Allen as they try to get
[21:27] Speaker 2: back to the top of the AFC Easter rookies reported
[21:30] Speaker 2: the camp today. The veterans will join them a week
[21:34] Speaker 2: from today. Welcome back to the Insiders, and we are
[21:37] Speaker 2: back with Ian and Mike and I and the Bills
[21:39] Speaker 2: have our first year head coach in Joe Brady. A
[21:41] Speaker 2: really good play caller, but we know there's more to
[21:44] Speaker 2: being a head coach than just a play caller. What
[21:47] Speaker 2: does he bring in his first year there in Buffalo?
[21:50] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[21:50] Speaker 3: I talked to several people who have known Joe Brady
[21:53] Speaker 3: for a long time, people who coach with him in LSU,
[21:55] Speaker 3: and people who coach with them at Buffalo. The word
[21:57] Speaker 3: juice comes up a lot for Joe Brady. Fascinating situation
[22:01] Speaker 3: for the Buffalo Bills, I would say, somewhat shockingly fired.
[22:05] Speaker 3: Sean McDermott did a thorough search, talk to a lot
[22:07] Speaker 3: of people, and then decided to hire one of the
[22:10] Speaker 3: hot young head coaching candidates around. Someone who's been an
[22:14] Speaker 3: offensive coordinator a couple of times, someone who has worked
[22:16] Speaker 3: with excellent, excellent quarterbacks got the most out of them,
[22:20] Speaker 3: someone who has had multiple interviews in multiple years and
[22:23] Speaker 3: various opportunities to become a head coach. The fact that
[22:27] Speaker 3: it was Joe Brady, the fact that it was in
[22:29] Speaker 3: their building. I don't know if it changes things, but
[22:32] Speaker 3: It just doesn't happen very often, because rarely do you
[22:35] Speaker 3: get a situation where you move on from a coach
[22:38] Speaker 3: and then promote his successor from within. But that was
[22:41] Speaker 3: the situation that the Buffalo Bills had. They had a
[22:43] Speaker 3: lot of opportunities to hire a lot of really good coaches,
[22:46] Speaker 3: even though they came along late in the process. They
[22:50] Speaker 3: decided that one of the more coveted candidates was going
[22:52] Speaker 3: to be was in their building and was going to
[22:55] Speaker 3: be their higher The players are familiar with Joe Brady.
[22:58] Speaker 3: The defense obviously changes with Jim Leonard, but everything Josh
[23:01] Speaker 3: Allen does is going to be the same.
[23:03] Speaker 4: What they hope.
[23:04] Speaker 3: What they hope is that he's a couple plays better
[23:07] Speaker 3: and that excitement, that new energy, that juice is a
[23:11] Speaker 3: thing that puts him over the hump.
[23:12] Speaker 6: Mike that day, when we reported the news of Sean
[23:15] Speaker 6: mcdermot's firing, we went right to, Okay, well who do
[23:18] Speaker 6: they hire? Because only a couple really made sense, and
[23:21] Speaker 6: it had to be somebody that jibed with John Allen,
[23:23] Speaker 6: whether it was going to be Rian Dable or in
[23:25] Speaker 6: this case, Joe Brady, And that's where they wound up
[23:27] Speaker 6: going after a thorough process in which Josh Allen was involved. Now,
[23:31] Speaker 6: speaking of Alan, DJ Moore comes in at the wide
[23:34] Speaker 6: receiver position. Stefan Diggs has been gone for a couple
[23:37] Speaker 6: of years. Now More steps in as that high volume guy.
[23:41] Speaker 6: And I know Khalioshakier had a bunch of catches over
[23:43] Speaker 6: the last couple of years as well, but didn't really
[23:45] Speaker 6: have the same kind of a feel of who's a
[23:48] Speaker 6: number one high volume type guy. That's what DJ Moore
[23:52] Speaker 6: is expected to be. That's why they went out and
[23:54] Speaker 6: got DJ Moore, who.
[23:55] Speaker 1: Wasn't that last year for the Bears.
[23:57] Speaker 6: I mean, Roma dun Roma Dunze gets there, he starts
[24:00] Speaker 6: to emerge. So Moore is not that guy anymore. Chicago
[24:03] Speaker 6: says we can make the move, we can trade him
[24:04] Speaker 6: to Buffalo. So I fully expect DJ Moore, maybe not
[24:08] Speaker 6: to match the production this the fund Diggs had a
[24:10] Speaker 6: couple of years ago, but to be that again. High
[24:13] Speaker 6: volume guy is the phrase that I keep using and
[24:15] Speaker 6: keep hearing out of there because they feel like they
[24:17] Speaker 6: really needed that, and I expect him to be that guy.
[24:19] Speaker 2: I love that Mike because djmore to me, has an
[24:21] Speaker 2: opportunity with Josh Allen to really put up big numbers.
[24:25] Speaker 2: As we know, the Bills, they've been trying to get
[24:26] Speaker 2: some consistency.
[24:27] Speaker 1: From that wide Y or X wide receiver.
[24:31] Speaker 2: All right, thanks, guys, were gonna have a little bit
[24:32] Speaker 2: more from you later. But let's take a look at
[24:34] Speaker 2: this Bill's draft class.
[24:35] Speaker 1: You're looking there. TJ.
[24:36] Speaker 2: Parker was their first pick in the second round the draft.
[24:39] Speaker 1: Two linebackers in the draft.
[24:41] Speaker 2: Even drafted a punter in the second in the seventh round.
[24:45] Speaker 1: And now it is time for the.
[24:47] Speaker 2: Wolf of ball Street, Cameron Wolf, take a deeper look
[24:51] Speaker 2: at this Bill's draft class. All right, camp, tell me
[24:53] Speaker 2: one guy that you really think will stand out in
[24:55] Speaker 2: twenty twenty six.
[24:58] Speaker 7: Steve, I can't wait to see TJ. Parker their second
[25:00] Speaker 7: round pick. The edge rusher. The Buffalo Bill's problem lading
[25:03] Speaker 7: this season has often been getting them off the getting
[25:06] Speaker 7: off the ball on third down, getting off the field, being.
[25:09] Speaker 1: Able to get to the quarterback.
[25:10] Speaker 7: So they added a pass rusher who had an excellent
[25:12] Speaker 7: twenty four season, took a step back in twenty five.
[25:15] Speaker 7: He could have been a top ten pick if he
[25:17] Speaker 7: repeated his twenty four season. They think they can unlock
[25:20] Speaker 7: that version of him, and this is a guy that
[25:21] Speaker 7: is powerful, can be a three down rusher, plays the
[25:24] Speaker 7: run well, which was obviously a big weakness for this
[25:27] Speaker 7: Buffalo Bills team. He gets into a group with Bradley Chubb,
[25:31] Speaker 7: with Greg Russo, and I talked to their general manager
[25:33] Speaker 7: Brandon Bean. He said, we think Parker can help us
[25:36] Speaker 7: a good bit this year.
[25:37] Speaker 1: This isn't going to be a ease him in.
[25:39] Speaker 7: He could potentially be that third rusher and really help
[25:42] Speaker 7: a Buffalo Bill's team. With a new defensive coordinator and
[25:44] Speaker 7: Jim Lennard, they're going to be a little bit more
[25:46] Speaker 7: pressure oriented. So that was where Parker comes in a
[25:50] Speaker 7: dark horse. I am looking at also fourth round receiver
[25:53] Speaker 7: Skylar Bell. He's a guy that was extremely productive at Yukon,
[25:58] Speaker 7: a guy that was a final list finally for the
[26:00] Speaker 7: Blit in the Call Award. The only knock was he
[26:02] Speaker 7: was twenty four coming into the draft. Is why he
[26:05] Speaker 7: fell to the fourth round. But he can play inside
[26:07] Speaker 7: and out. We heard Ian talk about Dj Moore, Khalil Shakir,
[26:10] Speaker 7: that's receiver one and two. But who is going to
[26:12] Speaker 7: be that next guy? Kean Coleman's coming off a strong spring.
[26:15] Speaker 7: Can he turn it into a stronger fall. You also
[26:18] Speaker 7: have Josh Palmer, but could it be Skyler Bell, a
[26:20] Speaker 7: guy who, like I said, has only produced I can't
[26:23] Speaker 7: wait to.
[26:24] Speaker 1: Watch in camp his chemistry with Josh Allen. See, this
[26:26] Speaker 1: is why you're the Wolf of ball streets.
[26:28] Speaker 2: You're talking about Skyler Bell as we're getting ready to
[26:31] Speaker 2: bring this into a fantasy segment, Cam Wolf, good stuff,
[26:35] Speaker 2: all right, Now it signed for a look at the
[26:36] Speaker 2: Bills fantasy wise, nobody circles the wagons.
[26:39] Speaker 1: Quite like Michael f Florio.
[26:41] Speaker 2: All right, Mike, tell us about some more rookies to
[26:43] Speaker 2: keep an eye on for the Bills.
[26:45] Speaker 13: Yeah, I'm going to pick up where Cam left off
[26:47] Speaker 13: and just talk about Skyler Bell, who last year one
[26:50] Speaker 13: hundred and one catches nearly thirteen hundred yards and thirteen
[26:53] Speaker 13: touchdowns at Yukon. That was top three in the FBS
[26:56] Speaker 13: in all three categories. And like Caim was saying, he
[27:00] Speaker 13: can line up all over the field, inside and out.
[27:03] Speaker 13: He has the ability to win downfield, excels on slants,
[27:06] Speaker 13: and he can win after the catch.
[27:08] Speaker 1: And that's why I think.
[27:09] Speaker 13: He's going to be a very pivotal depth piece for
[27:11] Speaker 13: the Bills wide receiver room. That is largely the same
[27:15] Speaker 13: as last season, outside of Dj.
[27:17] Speaker 1: Moore, who we're going to talk about more.
[27:18] Speaker 13: In a little bit. I think Bell is a more
[27:21] Speaker 13: of a contributor and injury depth here. I don't think
[27:24] Speaker 13: he is going to have like standalone fantasy value and
[27:26] Speaker 13: redraft in year one, but an injury could open up
[27:30] Speaker 13: that path, and he, being so ready and so experienced
[27:32] Speaker 13: from college, would be able to step right in.
[27:34] Speaker 1: And then dynasty is where I.
[27:36] Speaker 13: Think you want to try to take a shot on him,
[27:38] Speaker 13: because I do think long term he could continue to
[27:40] Speaker 13: develop with Josh Allen and be a useful fantasy piece
[27:44] Speaker 13: in the future.
[27:44] Speaker 2: Okay, okay, all right, now head coach, we just talked
[27:46] Speaker 2: about it, Joe Brady.
[27:47] Speaker 1: He moves from OC to head coach.
[27:49] Speaker 2: Who are some guys who are likely to see a
[27:51] Speaker 2: fantasy uptick under him this season?
[27:54] Speaker 1: Yeah?
[27:54] Speaker 13: I think Keon Coleman is one for shore because he
[27:58] Speaker 13: was coming off of a disappointing start of his NFL career.
[28:01] Speaker 13: But do not forget that he looked the part as
[28:03] Speaker 13: a rookie until he injured his wrist, and he wasn't
[28:07] Speaker 13: the same after that.
[28:08] Speaker 1: Last year.
[28:09] Speaker 13: It was more off the field stuff than on the field,
[28:11] Speaker 13: and when Joe Brady got hired, he said the best
[28:14] Speaker 13: thing about him being the head coach it is for
[28:16] Speaker 13: Keyon Coleman, but more so I think Dj Moore helps
[28:20] Speaker 13: a ton because Coleman was often tethered as the ex
[28:22] Speaker 13: wide receiver there and now there's a lot of talk
[28:25] Speaker 13: of having the Bills receivers play all over the field,
[28:27] Speaker 13: and I think that would help Keon because I think
[28:29] Speaker 13: he could excel as a big slot receiver and then
[28:34] Speaker 13: he has all the physical tools. His one issue has
[28:36] Speaker 13: been creating consistent separation. But he has been in the
[28:39] Speaker 13: lab with the space creator, my boy Stevie Johnson, and
[28:42] Speaker 13: I asked Stevie. He said he expects Keon to take
[28:45] Speaker 13: a big jump this season.
[28:47] Speaker 1: And then Khalil Shakir.
[28:49] Speaker 13: Who we know has been Josh Allen's go to guy,
[28:53] Speaker 13: but similar to Coleman, Shakira was often tethered into one
[28:56] Speaker 13: role right in the slot. He became basically a screen
[28:59] Speaker 13: merchant in recent years. Last season just three point five
[29:02] Speaker 13: air yards per target that is running back esk. But
[29:06] Speaker 13: Brady has been talking about having Shakiir lineup all over
[29:09] Speaker 13: the field and using him more aggressively downfield. We know
[29:12] Speaker 13: his best trade is winning after the catch, but he
[29:15] Speaker 13: can win in other ways and I am hopeful we
[29:17] Speaker 13: see that this year. And while I do think DJ
[29:20] Speaker 13: Moore will be the top target for Josh Allen, Shakira
[29:23] Speaker 13: is still Allen's safety blanket, so I think he will
[29:25] Speaker 13: have a lot.
[29:26] Speaker 1: Of save volume for fantasy purposes.
[29:28] Speaker 2: You know, Michael F and everybody the f stance for Frank.
[29:31] Speaker 1: We both share the middle same middle name right there.
[29:33] Speaker 2: Anybody who works with your boy Stevie Johnson is going
[29:37] Speaker 2: to be in for a big year.
[29:38] Speaker 1: Hey man, we really appreciate you join anything again. Michael Lef.
[29:41] Speaker 1: We'll see a little bit later on.
[29:43] Speaker 2: And the Panthers, they get ready to have the full
[29:45] Speaker 2: squad back in camp on Wednesday, and our guy Cameron
[29:48] Speaker 2: Wolf he's going to be with them on Thursday, so
[29:51] Speaker 2: he'll be back after the break to let us know
[29:53] Speaker 2: a little bit more about the NFC South champs. Oh yeah,
[30:06] Speaker 2: the Panthers rookie feeling good reporting the camp today. You're
[30:08] Speaker 2: looking at Monroe Freeling and some of his rookie teammates
[30:11] Speaker 2: showing up in Charlotte getting ready to do some work.
[30:16] Speaker 2: But it wasn't all good news coming out of Carolina.
[30:19] Speaker 2: It plays quarterback j C. Horn and right tackle Taylor
[30:22] Speaker 2: Moden on the reserve non football injury list today, So
[30:27] Speaker 2: for more on that, let's bring back Cam Wolfe will
[30:29] Speaker 2: be at Panthers camp on Thursday. Camp first off, a
[30:32] Speaker 2: couple of big injury notes early on, Yeah, Steve.
[30:37] Speaker 7: The big one is their right tackle Taylor Moden, being
[30:39] Speaker 7: placed on a non football injury list with that blood clot.
[30:42] Speaker 7: They found this lung three weeks ago from what I'm told,
[30:46] Speaker 7: Obviously a scary situation with any blood clot, but he's
[30:49] Speaker 7: been recovering well.
[30:49] Speaker 1: They put him on blood thinners.
[30:51] Speaker 7: The expectation is he's going to miss some regular season time,
[30:54] Speaker 7: but they believe he'll play at some point in twenty
[30:56] Speaker 7: twenty six. Focus right now is just getting him healthy.
[30:59] Speaker 7: So that makes the starting right tackle and their left tackle, Ikiakwanu,
[31:03] Speaker 7: who is dealing with a serious knee injury. From when
[31:05] Speaker 7: I'm told, he won't be expected back until late in
[31:08] Speaker 7: the season potentially. Now, they're down both of their starting
[31:11] Speaker 7: tackle so luckily for them, they drafted a left tackle
[31:15] Speaker 7: in the first round and Monroe Freeland who can play both.
[31:18] Speaker 1: Sides, so maybe he ends up filling in for Moden.
[31:21] Speaker 7: They also signed a free agent and Rashid Walker, to
[31:24] Speaker 7: a really value deal. He has played left tackle for
[31:27] Speaker 7: most of his career, so they have guys they could
[31:28] Speaker 7: potentially plug in as starters in those roles until their
[31:31] Speaker 7: guys get healthy. That's a credit to Dan Morgan really
[31:34] Speaker 7: filling that role right. But it is not a secret
[31:36] Speaker 7: that the offensive line is really important for Bryce Young.
[31:39] Speaker 1: And so these are two injuries. I'm going to.
[31:41] Speaker 7: Watch how do their replacements play in camp? Can they
[31:44] Speaker 7: keep upright? Bryce Young?
[31:46] Speaker 1: Who is entering a very important year.
[31:48] Speaker 7: And I'll tell you this three things I'm really watching
[31:51] Speaker 7: for this Carolina Panthers team going into training camp where
[31:53] Speaker 7: I'll be there Thursday. Bryce Young, he is going into
[31:56] Speaker 7: a pivotal year. I talk with Dan Morgan this week
[32:00] Speaker 7: and simply ask them what does Bryce have to do
[32:02] Speaker 7: to separate himself earn that contract? And He's like, look,
[32:05] Speaker 7: I've had a lot of real conversation with Bryce. He
[32:07] Speaker 7: is not afraid of the pressure, He's not afraid of
[32:09] Speaker 7: what comes with sort of a.
[32:11] Speaker 1: Proven year on this deal.
[32:12] Speaker 7: They believe in him, They know that he is their guy,
[32:15] Speaker 7: and they believe that year three and Dave Canali's scheme
[32:18] Speaker 7: with the continuity will unlock the best version of Bryce.
[32:21] Speaker 1: He's had a really strong spring.
[32:23] Speaker 7: Now they translated into pads with a new play caller
[32:26] Speaker 7: and Brad Isaacs. So I can't wait to watch that
[32:28] Speaker 7: second thing. The running back room. Jonathan Brooks has been
[32:31] Speaker 7: a buzzy name for me all spring. Finally healthy. He
[32:35] Speaker 7: looked excellent in the spring cutting moving. Can they trust
[32:38] Speaker 7: him to stay healthy? Morgan told me, Look, I can't
[32:40] Speaker 7: wait to see him in pads and finally get some
[32:42] Speaker 7: pop out there. That's the one thing he has to
[32:44] Speaker 7: do left. If he's healthy. They believe he can form
[32:47] Speaker 7: a really good one two punch with Chubu Hubbard. And
[32:49] Speaker 7: the third thing that Panthers defense. Can they take that
[32:53] Speaker 7: next step? They got a couple of blue chip defenders
[32:56] Speaker 7: and Jalen Phillips and Devin Lloyd.
[32:57] Speaker 1: In free agency.
[32:58] Speaker 7: Dan Morgan went out there and paid big money for
[33:00] Speaker 7: guys he believed in. Jalen Phillips, a guy that can
[33:03] Speaker 7: maybe help their biggest weakness getting off the field on
[33:06] Speaker 7: third down, getting pressure on the quarterback. And Devin Lloyd,
[33:09] Speaker 7: who is going to be that signal caller and middle linebacker.
[33:12] Speaker 7: Those two guys, Can they help this defense compete with
[33:15] Speaker 7: teams like.
[33:16] Speaker 1: The Rams that they just fell short on in the playoffs? Yeah,
[33:19] Speaker 1: Cam real quick too.
[33:20] Speaker 2: Also, the offensive rookie of the year, Ted Rod McMillan
[33:22] Speaker 2: coming back for year two. What are some things you're
[33:24] Speaker 2: hearing about him coming to the season.
[33:28] Speaker 7: Yeah, keep an eye on tedor Roven millan playing more
[33:30] Speaker 7: in the slot this year.
[33:32] Speaker 1: Obviously they used him.
[33:33] Speaker 7: In the second half of the year at times there,
[33:36] Speaker 7: but they believe their young receiver Chris Brazl will be
[33:39] Speaker 7: able to play a little bit outside, which will give
[33:42] Speaker 7: t mac an opportunity to really thrive inside. They think
[33:45] Speaker 7: his size will be a big asset. From what I understand,
[33:48] Speaker 7: he put on about eight or nine pounds.
[33:50] Speaker 1: Of muscle this offseason.
[33:51] Speaker 7: Gives him a lot more physicality to the line up
[33:54] Speaker 7: in that slot where they could use his skill set
[33:55] Speaker 7: to take us to the next level. A thousand yard
[33:57] Speaker 7: receiver last year, can he be a fifteen hundred yard
[34:01] Speaker 7: guy in this season?
[34:02] Speaker 1: Can he be one of the best receivers in football?
[34:04] Speaker 7: They don't think that is too much to put on
[34:06] Speaker 7: his plate. He wants to be great and he has
[34:08] Speaker 7: a chance to be great in this new scheme or
[34:11] Speaker 7: this new play caller. Where Brad Hill is it? So
[34:13] Speaker 7: I can't wait to watch him when.
[34:14] Speaker 1: I get into camp on Thursday too. Yeah, excellent insight.
[34:17] Speaker 2: We can't wait to hear your reports after you've been
[34:19] Speaker 2: in camp on Thursday.
[34:20] Speaker 1: Well done. It is time for Florio's flag. Plants right
[34:26] Speaker 1: there at the top of the mountain. That's where you
[34:27] Speaker 1: plant the flag, and you plant it where.
[34:30] Speaker 6: You say this is my take on fantasy football, that
[34:33] Speaker 6: you're gonna look back in six months and be like.
[34:35] Speaker 1: Floria was right. Planted the flag there. It is still
[34:38] Speaker 1: flying in the breeze.
[34:39] Speaker 6: Speaking of flags that fly in the breeze, we're going
[34:41] Speaker 6: to start with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They have a
[34:43] Speaker 6: giant flag, a huge bucketeer flag outside their facility, So
[34:47] Speaker 6: I go ahead, plant the flag there.
[34:49] Speaker 1: Believe it or not.
[34:50] Speaker 13: People don't come to tell you you're right only when
[34:52] Speaker 13: you are wrong. But I think Mika Abuka proves that
[34:55] Speaker 13: the first half inn last year was the real m
[34:58] Speaker 13: because if you remember, he was the wide receiver six
[35:02] Speaker 13: in weeks one through seven, and then the wide receiver
[35:04] Speaker 13: forty seven from then on. But as we now know
[35:07] Speaker 13: a Mecca, Abuka himself was playing through injury. If you've
[35:10] Speaker 13: watched quarterbacks, you know Baker Mayfield was extremely beat up.
[35:14] Speaker 13: It led to Abuca last year having the second lowest
[35:17] Speaker 13: catchuable target rate in the NFL. But new Bucks OC
[35:21] Speaker 13: Zach Robinson said he plans to use Abuka as the
[35:24] Speaker 13: primary Z receiver, which needs more in motion, more detached
[35:28] Speaker 13: plays from the line of scrimmage, and less number one corners.
[35:31] Speaker 13: And look, Abuka was fantastic in college and to start
[35:35] Speaker 13: his NFL career. I think he proves this year that
[35:38] Speaker 13: is the real him, and he has wide receiver one upside,
[35:42] Speaker 13: but you could get him at a wide receiver two.
[35:44] Speaker 1: Price in fantasy. But it's not all good for the.
[35:47] Speaker 13: Bucks because I don't think Bucky Irving is going to
[35:49] Speaker 13: be a top twenty fantasy running back last this year.
[35:53] Speaker 1: Look, he was awesome.
[35:54] Speaker 13: As a rookie, not so much last year, and I
[35:56] Speaker 13: know the foot injury definitely had a lot to do
[35:58] Speaker 13: with that, but I've so did the loss of Liam
[36:01] Speaker 13: Cohen and last season he averaged the fewest yards per
[36:04] Speaker 13: carry in the NFL. But what really worries me is
[36:07] Speaker 13: the Bucks paid Kenneth Gainwell and it was not a
[36:10] Speaker 13: small deal. And gain Well excels as a receiving back.
[36:13] Speaker 13: He could steal some carries away. And last year Bucky
[36:16] Speaker 13: did not have a single goal line carry, but Sean
[36:19] Speaker 13: Tucker was highly effective in that role. So if Bucky
[36:22] Speaker 13: isn't getting receiving work or the bulk of it, and
[36:26] Speaker 13: he's not getting goal line work.
[36:28] Speaker 1: That is going to.
[36:30] Speaker 13: Really drive down his fantasy value because those are the
[36:32] Speaker 13: most valuable touches a running back could have. If he's
[36:35] Speaker 13: just between the twenties runner, that's going to hurt a lot.
[36:39] Speaker 3: Yeah, listening to talk about the foot injury, Yes, foot
[36:41] Speaker 3: injury is real and for running backs especially that can
[36:44] Speaker 3: slow down a go going to be really nice when
[36:46] Speaker 3: he is fully healthy this year to show you, FOYO
[36:49] Speaker 3: that he could be a very good running.
[36:52] Speaker 4: Back as far as the top twenty.
[36:53] Speaker 3: If you're right, If he's not getting the goal line carriers,
[36:55] Speaker 3: I think that makes it a little bit of a challenge.
[36:57] Speaker 3: All right, not done yet, plant your flag? Tell me
[37:01] Speaker 3: about Dj Moore.
[37:03] Speaker 13: Look, I think people are gonna call me a homer,
[37:05] Speaker 13: but I think DJ Moore is going to return to
[37:07] Speaker 13: be a top fifteen Fantasy wide receiver. I just did
[37:12] Speaker 13: not think he was a good fit for the Bears
[37:14] Speaker 13: offense last year. For one, Caleb has been bottom four
[37:17] Speaker 13: in catchuple pass rates each of the last two seasons
[37:21] Speaker 13: and more struggled on the quick stuff last year. But
[37:24] Speaker 13: when the Bears held the ball for more than two
[37:26] Speaker 13: point five seconds, he led them in yards and touchdowns.
[37:30] Speaker 1: And Josh Allen, well, he holds the ball.
[37:32] Speaker 13: He's always averaged two point nine or more seconds to throw.
[37:36] Speaker 13: And Moore is a great improviser, as is Josh Allen.
[37:39] Speaker 13: He has a history of success with Joe Brady and DJ.
[37:43] Speaker 13: Moore was the Bears leading receiver in yards and touchdowns
[37:45] Speaker 13: in the playoffs when the games mattered most.
[37:47] Speaker 1: So I think he could still play.
[37:49] Speaker 13: And if you're gonna put that guy with Josh Allen, yeah,
[37:52] Speaker 13: I think he can return to be top fifteen fantasy
[37:54] Speaker 13: wide receiver.
[37:56] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[37:56] Speaker 6: I said that earlier in the show, but you had
[37:58] Speaker 6: already planned. It's not like you stole my idea. We're
[38:00] Speaker 6: just in lockstep Mike and Mike on the same page
[38:02] Speaker 6: on this one, all right, So let's get the Jade
[38:04] Speaker 6: Daniels because frankly, I don't know where I stand on
[38:06] Speaker 6: this one.
[38:06] Speaker 1: You may convince me that this.
[38:08] Speaker 6: New offense for Jayden Daniels got the verbos, play calls,
[38:12] Speaker 6: all this stuff, that it's gonna be a good thing,
[38:14] Speaker 6: is it?
[38:16] Speaker 1: I think it's gonna be a good. Look. You know,
[38:17] Speaker 1: I love Jayden Daniels.
[38:18] Speaker 13: I told you to draft him on the outsiders every year.
[38:22] Speaker 13: And look, do not let the injuries from last season
[38:25] Speaker 13: lead you to forget just how good Jayden Daniels is.
[38:27] Speaker 13: He had the second most fantasy points ever by a
[38:30] Speaker 13: rookie quarterback. He averaged twenty fantasy points per game in
[38:35] Speaker 13: the four games that he started and finished last year.
[38:37] Speaker 1: Yeah, I know it's only.
[38:38] Speaker 13: Four, but again, if you watch quarterback, you reminded it
[38:41] Speaker 13: was three different injuries that that was more bad luck.
[38:44] Speaker 1: Than it was like a reoccurring nagging injury.
[38:47] Speaker 13: And he has scored nineteen or more fantasy points in
[38:49] Speaker 13: eighty percent of the full games he's played in his career.
[38:53] Speaker 1: The only concern there is is health.
[38:55] Speaker 13: But we know that quarterback is the deepest position in
[38:58] Speaker 13: the game, so you could take a safe beat back
[39:00] Speaker 13: later and just cover your bases that way.
[39:03] Speaker 3: Always frustrating to see people talk about a guy like
[39:05] Speaker 3: he can't play anymore when he had a couple of random,
[39:07] Speaker 3: nagging injuries that all collided in on him. And you
[39:11] Speaker 3: know that, certainly to me, seems like the case with
[39:13] Speaker 3: Jayden Daniers really looking forward to watching him in this
[39:15] Speaker 3: new offense for the Washington Commanders proved to everyone that he.
[39:19] Speaker 5: Is still really, really good.
[39:22] Speaker 4: All right, Furial.
[39:23] Speaker 3: What about one of the top free agent signings of
[39:27] Speaker 3: this offseason, Isaiah Likely?
[39:30] Speaker 1: Yeah?
[39:30] Speaker 13: I think Isaiah Likely is going to be a top
[39:32] Speaker 13: ten fantasy tight end this year. And I might argue
[39:35] Speaker 13: that is the floor because look, we've seen flashes. Remember
[39:38] Speaker 13: the Fab Wars Week one twenty twenty four that everyone
[39:41] Speaker 13: was willing to blow their budget to get Likely on
[39:43] Speaker 13: their team. In that season, he was top seven and
[39:46] Speaker 13: fantasy points for target yards per catch and ends on
[39:49] Speaker 13: targets amongst tight ends, and last season Jackson Dart was
[39:53] Speaker 13: featuring the tight ends a good bit. And if there's
[39:57] Speaker 13: no Moleak Neighbors to start the season, he could be
[40:00] Speaker 13: to go to target for the Giants. I think even
[40:02] Speaker 13: if Neighbors is out there, Likely.
[40:04] Speaker 1: Is probably the number one option in the end zone.
[40:08] Speaker 13: I have him ranked in the top ten and let's
[40:10] Speaker 13: not forget he's the coach picked him to come along
[40:13] Speaker 13: with him from Baltimore. So I expect to see a
[40:15] Speaker 13: whole lot of Isaiah.
[40:18] Speaker 1: Likely for the New York Giants this year, and top
[40:20] Speaker 1: ten might be the floor. I think he has top
[40:22] Speaker 1: five upside at the tight end position.
[40:23] Speaker 6: I take a break, rest your voice, take a drink
[40:26] Speaker 6: of water in every water off going on there, because
[40:29] Speaker 6: I'm going to plant the flag now, Ian and I
[40:31] Speaker 6: are going to plant their own flags. I didn't have
[40:33] Speaker 6: a flag around the office, although I sort of do it.
[40:35] Speaker 6: I have a golf training toy to a training ball.
[40:39] Speaker 6: Here is that every training tool that's ever been bought,
[40:43] Speaker 6: I've used like toy.
[40:43] Speaker 1: Get that off and how to use it.
[40:46] Speaker 4: I don't know the.
[40:46] Speaker 6: Point of the flag, so I'm just gonna plant it
[40:48] Speaker 6: here and plant in the flag. My flag is Ashton genty.
[40:53] Speaker 6: And I know you sort of at least agree with
[40:55] Speaker 6: this a little bit. Here Ashton genty Top five running
[40:59] Speaker 6: back one or maybe it's tier two.
[41:02] Speaker 1: It depends on how many.
[41:02] Speaker 6: Of you put in your tiers when it comes to
[41:04] Speaker 6: running back. But I am I'm telling you, I'm setting
[41:07] Speaker 6: myself up to look like an idiot, because there's plenty
[41:09] Speaker 6: of Ashton gent D commentary that I put out there,
[41:11] Speaker 6: But Ashton Gens the big bounce back in Clint Kobiak's offense,
[41:15] Speaker 6: Tyler Linderbaum the center there. An offensive line is gonna
[41:18] Speaker 6: be plant that flag.
[41:19] Speaker 1: And keep the hands and the path inside.
[41:23] Speaker 6: Which I think he's with the flag is they want
[41:25] Speaker 6: the path inside.
[41:26] Speaker 1: So he went the flag.
[41:26] Speaker 3: Oh, I don't have said I don't have a flag,
[41:29] Speaker 3: but I do have water for for you.
[41:31] Speaker 1: Oh I needed it. Jenson's my RB three. By the way,
[41:34] Speaker 1: I feel so much better.
[41:35] Speaker 3: Hold on, I'm not done yet. All right, here's my
[41:38] Speaker 3: flag planting. Cam Ward is a top ten fantasy running back.
[41:43] Speaker 1: Yes, I think.
[41:44] Speaker 4: He is this year's version of Caleb Williams.
[41:47] Speaker 3: This is not apples. Apples is not exactly the same.
[41:50] Speaker 3: But here's what I see a run.
[41:54] Speaker 1: I said, running back.
[41:55] Speaker 4: I'm in quarterback.
[41:56] Speaker 1: Here's what I mean.
[41:56] Speaker 3: A quarterback who's got a new offensive coordinator, who's got
[41:59] Speaker 3: it in priest, a much improved set of skill guys,
[42:03] Speaker 3: and who is really ready to kind of hit the
[42:05] Speaker 3: ground running in a new system. Cam Ward top ten
[42:08] Speaker 3: fantasy quarterback, not running back.
[42:11] Speaker 1: Sorry, cam I love the jen Z Cole.
[42:14] Speaker 13: He is tier two for me, but he is my
[42:15] Speaker 13: RB three and cam Ward I do think breaks out.
[42:18] Speaker 1: I don't have him rank that high.
[42:19] Speaker 13: But if you like cam Ward with Brian Dable and everything,
[42:22] Speaker 13: you should also really like Carnel Tate, who I am
[42:24] Speaker 13: very in on this season.
[42:26] Speaker 6: You have only two running backs in your top tier?
[42:29] Speaker 6: Is that we are telling me? Yeah, Jims and be's
[42:31] Speaker 6: a wave in the flag.
[42:33] Speaker 1: Now.
[42:33] Speaker 6: We'll get back to that later. We'll wave in the flag,
[42:35] Speaker 6: the white flag on this segment. Speaking of flag, how
[42:38] Speaker 6: about this one? Flag football is the fastest growing sport
[42:40] Speaker 6: in the world.
[42:41] Speaker 1: Are you guys playing that in the control room? Didn't you?
[42:43] Speaker 1: Good job?
[42:43] Speaker 6: And the third annual NFL Flag Football Championships will be
[42:46] Speaker 6: on the ABC, ESPN, NFL Network, ESPN two this week
[42:50] Speaker 6: July twenty fourth through the twenty six.
[42:52] Speaker 1: ESPN Deportes and.
[42:53] Speaker 6: The Disney Networks will have additional coverage each day with
[42:56] Speaker 6: all games on the ESPN app. For more information, go
[42:59] Speaker 6: to NFL flag dot com.
[43:04] Speaker 1: It's one more look at the rookies.
[43:05] Speaker 2: That reported to training camp today and as of tomorrow,
[43:10] Speaker 2: the Arizona Cardinals and the Carolina Panthers will have both
[43:13] Speaker 2: their full squads.
[43:14] Speaker 1: In the building.
[43:15] Speaker 2: Of course, they play in the Pro Football Hall of
[43:16] Speaker 2: Fame Game August sixth. I'm Steve White Frock crew here
[43:20] Speaker 2: at NFL Network and the insiders. Have a good night
[43:23] Speaker 2: and let's be better tomorrow
