[0:07] Speaker 1: The full International slave for twenty twenty six has been revealed.
[0:12] Speaker 1: Sixteen teams, seven different countries, a lot of TV sets,
[0:17] Speaker 1: a lot of tablets and devices, and we are going
[0:19] Speaker 1: to watch some football in twenty twenty six. The NFC
[0:22] Speaker 1: West was the toughest division in football last year, and
[0:25] Speaker 1: at the mid my point of this offseason, we highlight
[0:27] Speaker 1: the biggest priorities for each team to dethrone the champs.
[0:31] Speaker 1: That's the Seahawks in case you forgot plus Tidan and
[0:34] Speaker 1: Tyler Conklin is now Detroit and he's on our show.
[0:37] Speaker 1: He is now on our show here with the new
[0:39] Speaker 1: line has to say about playing with his new QB.
[0:43] Speaker 1: Jared Goff, Welcome inside with the Insiders, Ian Rapport here,
[0:48] Speaker 1: Judabatista there. This is presented by Verizon and generally we
[0:53] Speaker 1: do right now show you something new, and we got
[0:57] Speaker 1: a lot of new things for you today. Notably, the
[1:01] Speaker 1: nine international games have been revealed for twenty twenty six.
[1:05] Speaker 1: We got forty nine Ers Rams in Australia. That's a
[1:07] Speaker 1: new one. We got a Paris game, Steelers Saints. That
[1:10] Speaker 1: is a fun one. We talked to the Saints a
[1:12] Speaker 1: couple of months ago about that forty nine Ers, Rams
[1:14] Speaker 1: in Mexico excellent Back in Mexico, Ravens Cowboys in Reo.
[1:19] Speaker 1: A lot on the table for an awesome international slate.
[1:23] Speaker 1: More on that in a second. First, November twenty fifth
[1:27] Speaker 1: is a special day. Usually this is the day before
[1:31] Speaker 1: Thanksgiving Judy Batista, where everybody goes to a bar. They
[1:35] Speaker 1: meet all the people they used to know in high school.
[1:37] Speaker 1: They come back, they talk, and then whatever happens happens.
[1:40] Speaker 1: Our good friend Kyle Brand calls this the makeout Olympics. Okay,
[1:43] Speaker 1: it is Wednesday before Thanksgiving. This year, more importantly, it
[1:48] Speaker 1: is a Rams Packers game on Netflix. The night before Thanksgiving,
[1:53] Speaker 1: we have football. How in favor are you of this?
[1:59] Speaker 2: I am there in favor of this because it just
[2:01] Speaker 2: expands the holiday. I love Thanksgiving, by the way, So
[2:04] Speaker 2: this just expands what has already been sort of an
[2:07] Speaker 2: NFL holiday weekend. Of course, Thanksgiving has always been an
[2:11] Speaker 2: NFL holiday. A few years ago they added the Black
[2:14] Speaker 2: Friday Game, and now they're going to Thanksgiving Eve. First
[2:17] Speaker 2: of all, I would say, once we got through the
[2:19] Speaker 2: COVID season and we saw the NFL able to play
[2:21] Speaker 2: on practically any day of the week. You knew that
[2:24] Speaker 2: once they cracked the code on how to do that
[2:26] Speaker 2: with the schedule, that they would eventually be playing more
[2:28] Speaker 2: games on Wednesdays. We have two of them this year,
[2:31] Speaker 2: including the one that starts the season. But this Wednesday
[2:35] Speaker 2: game kicks off a big holiday weekend. And of course,
[2:37] Speaker 2: if you want to establish a new special game in
[2:40] Speaker 2: the NFL, you have to do it with a huge
[2:42] Speaker 2: matchup right out of the gate. Packers Rams. These are
[2:46] Speaker 2: two teams that should be contending in the NFC. I
[2:49] Speaker 2: mean the Rams are going to go into the season
[2:51] Speaker 2: as one of the Super Bowl favorites. Stars all over
[2:54] Speaker 2: the place on both teams. This is a great way
[2:56] Speaker 2: to kick off the Thanksgiving eve id.
[3:00] Speaker 1: Yeah, and like, if you think about it, what else
[3:03] Speaker 1: are we doing? I mean there's family around, but like
[3:05] Speaker 1: you know, wouldn't you rather I'm not saying me other people,
[3:08] Speaker 1: wouldn't you rather just watch football than talk to family?
[3:11] Speaker 1: Family is great, but football is also great. And I
[3:14] Speaker 1: think what the NFL has really done, Judy, and you
[3:16] Speaker 1: explained to perfectly will is show us that if there
[3:19] Speaker 1: is a standalone game in a window where our options
[3:22] Speaker 1: are sit and chill or be at a bar, with
[3:24] Speaker 1: your high school sweetheart or watch football. You were going
[3:27] Speaker 1: to choose watch football. And so really, what the NFL
[3:30] Speaker 1: has done is create an entire landscape of holiday football
[3:35] Speaker 1: games from Wednesday many three this year, Thursday on Thanksgiving obviously,
[3:39] Speaker 1: have the Black Friday game on Friday, and then all
[3:42] Speaker 1: of the Sunday games. It is everything I could ever
[3:44] Speaker 1: want out of a holiday, which, really, we're being honest,
[3:48] Speaker 1: is just football. So there you go, good job, NFL.
[3:51] Speaker 1: I'm here for all this. We also showed you right
[3:53] Speaker 1: before this the pretty sweet international slate juty nine games
[3:59] Speaker 1: this year international. What did you make of that? And
[4:03] Speaker 1: kind of give me the broader first and then what
[4:06] Speaker 1: game stands out for you?
[4:07] Speaker 2: Well, first of all, nine games internationally is a high
[4:10] Speaker 2: water mark so far for the NFL. Sixteen teams are
[4:14] Speaker 2: going to be playing an international game, so that's fully
[4:16] Speaker 2: half the league. We know that the goal of the
[4:19] Speaker 2: league is eventually to be playing a full sixteen game
[4:22] Speaker 2: slate of international games, so that every team, all thirty
[4:25] Speaker 2: two would be playing internationally every year.
[4:29] Speaker 3: We probably are.
[4:30] Speaker 2: Going to have to wait until the schedule goes to
[4:33] Speaker 2: eighteen regular season games before we get there. But you
[4:35] Speaker 2: can see incrementally. The NFL is growing the international slate
[4:40] Speaker 2: year after year. One of the new games that's been
[4:43] Speaker 2: added this year is in Paris. They have never played
[4:45] Speaker 2: in France before. It is the Saints as the host team,
[4:49] Speaker 2: not surprised with links to France, and to make it
[4:52] Speaker 2: a really huge game, they sent the Steelers to play
[4:56] Speaker 2: in Paris. With the Saints, Steelers incredible fan base, they
[5:01] Speaker 2: travel well there. Probably we think going to have a
[5:04] Speaker 2: superstar playing quarterback this year, so this is another blockbuster
[5:10] Speaker 2: game in the international slate.
[5:12] Speaker 1: I want to talk about the Mexico City game. You know,
[5:14] Speaker 1: it's been a minute since the NFL was back in
[5:16] Speaker 1: Mexico City. I believe it's been four years, either three
[5:18] Speaker 1: or four the NFL has not been there, and I think,
[5:21] Speaker 1: you know, there's some reason, stadium reasons, and there have
[5:24] Speaker 1: been some other extenuating circumstances over the year. This is
[5:27] Speaker 1: an awesome place to watch a football game, and I
[5:29] Speaker 1: know it's one of those places that when you tune
[5:32] Speaker 1: in on TV, you can really feel the atmosphere. And
[5:35] Speaker 1: you know, this year forty nine Ers vikings right in
[5:38] Speaker 1: the middle of the season, we're going to know a
[5:39] Speaker 1: lot now, I would expect the forty nine ers to
[5:41] Speaker 1: be let's say, basically like they are every year, which
[5:44] Speaker 1: is in contention with superstars all around. It's really going
[5:47] Speaker 1: to be the Vikings that are more interesting. Is this
[5:49] Speaker 1: Kyler Murray? Is this JJ McCarthy? How good is this
[5:53] Speaker 1: Vikings team? And what can they show us on a
[5:55] Speaker 1: national stage? On an international stage, I should say that
[5:59] Speaker 1: is going to be a fun one in Mexico City.
[6:02] Speaker 1: So far as the entire schedule release, well we got
[6:05] Speaker 1: some fun stuff for you tomorrow. Get ready for the
[6:06] Speaker 1: NFL season with the highly intimated twenty twenty six NFL
[6:10] Speaker 1: schedule release every rivalry, every matchup, but every rookie debut,
[6:15] Speaker 1: with matchups locked and kickoffs confirmed. Catch every can't miss moment.
[6:20] Speaker 1: NFL schedule release on NFL Network, ESPN and the ESPN
[6:24] Speaker 1: app tomorrow at eight pm Eastern Following the Insiders, Judy,
[6:30] Speaker 1: now it.
[6:30] Speaker 2: Is time for schedule release a coverage by Verizon. Let's
[6:34] Speaker 2: bring in a Baldi and Mark Ross to talk more
[6:37] Speaker 2: about the international slate. All right, Baldy, I want to
[6:40] Speaker 2: start with you because I know you have a very
[6:42] Speaker 2: specific game in mind.
[6:44] Speaker 4: You want to talk about what is it?
[6:46] Speaker 5: Well, yeah, I mean just start there week one.
[6:48] Speaker 6: And you know, as a citizen of the world, Judy,
[6:51] Speaker 6: I have been through many countries. I've played a football
[6:54] Speaker 6: game in Japan, I have visited Australia, New Zealand.
[6:59] Speaker 5: And when you isn't.
[7:00] Speaker 6: Those countries, you cross the international dateline, you actually skip
[7:03] Speaker 6: a day go ahead, but you also did hit by
[7:06] Speaker 6: this massive jetlag that comes over you. And I don't
[7:11] Speaker 6: get it going anywhere else in world, but when you
[7:12] Speaker 6: cross that dateline, you're going to hit jetlag. And so
[7:16] Speaker 6: I'm interested to see how the players, the coaches, the
[7:19] Speaker 6: staff adjust to playing down Under, and it is going
[7:23] Speaker 6: to affect some different than others. And there's no nothing
[7:27] Speaker 6: that you can actually take to escape it. You just
[7:29] Speaker 6: got to fight it. So I'm just giving their warning
[7:32] Speaker 6: to the forty nine ers of RAMS week one that
[7:35] Speaker 6: jetlag may hit you when you land down under.
[7:39] Speaker 3: Great point Baldy, and I'm a world traveler as well,
[7:41] Speaker 3: but also with the New York Giants, we travel to
[7:44] Speaker 3: London for the very first international regular season game in
[7:48] Speaker 3: two thousand and seven at Wembley Stadium. It was raining,
[7:51] Speaker 3: the field wasn't ready was still for soccer. Those big
[7:53] Speaker 3: guys tore that field up and we are ready to
[7:56] Speaker 3: get home. Well, I just want to talk about the
[7:57] Speaker 3: Jacksonville Jaguars and their schedule this year where they play
[8:02] Speaker 3: back to back games in October, first against Philadelphia and
[8:06] Speaker 3: then against Houston. And this will be the third time
[8:09] Speaker 3: that Jacksonville will go play a game, stay in London
[8:12] Speaker 3: and then go play another game. There were two and
[8:14] Speaker 3: oh in twenty three and one in one in twenty four,
[8:18] Speaker 3: so it seems to not have an effect on them.
[8:20] Speaker 3: But I guarantee, Baldy, you talking about the jet lag
[8:23] Speaker 3: and whatnot, that those players definitely aren't really fond of
[8:27] Speaker 3: doing it. The staff not really fond of doing it.
[8:29] Speaker 3: Of course, it's all about the money and the ownership
[8:31] Speaker 3: wanting to do that. But overall, if the players and
[8:33] Speaker 3: staff had to vote to say let's get on back home.
[8:36] Speaker 6: Mark week three, the Baltimore Ravens are going to play
[8:40] Speaker 6: the Dallas in Rio dejan Ero.
[8:42] Speaker 2: Now.
[8:42] Speaker 6: They played a game in Brazil two years ago in
[8:45] Speaker 6: sam Paulo. Sam Paulo is a work city, It's massive.
[8:48] Speaker 6: Rio is a party city. I've been to Mona Kanas
[8:51] Speaker 6: Stadium for World Cup for regular season soccer I'm telling
[8:55] Speaker 6: you the Cowboys and the Raven fans that go to
[8:59] Speaker 6: this game, they're gonna get hit by a World Cup
[9:02] Speaker 6: fever atmosphere combined with a safe fear type of you know, fun.
[9:08] Speaker 6: This is going to be an atmosphere that nobody will
[9:10] Speaker 6: ever forget and they will remember for a lifetime.
[9:14] Speaker 5: Those flags will be flying.
[9:16] Speaker 6: They know how to throw a party in real like
[9:19] Speaker 6: no other city in the world.
[9:21] Speaker 5: It's going to be very festive.
[9:24] Speaker 3: I just want to hear more about I've been to
[9:25] Speaker 3: Rigo Baldi, the team's security. The team security gonna be
[9:28] Speaker 3: working overtime with that curfew, Judia. Sorry about that. I
[9:31] Speaker 3: just wanted to get that in there as well. Not
[9:32] Speaker 3: just the fay as that team security, that's for sure.
[9:37] Speaker 4: Guys, thank you very much.
[9:38] Speaker 3: You'll be back later. Ian.
[9:41] Speaker 1: Speaking of parties, I love parties. It would be so
[9:44] Speaker 1: fun to go to an international game, but I've never
[9:46] Speaker 1: been to one. The Seahawks party hasn't ended since wing
[9:49] Speaker 1: Super Bowl six. Ye I remember that I was there.
[9:52] Speaker 1: But now they are back at work running routes and
[9:55] Speaker 1: some slow mo some regular speed. They're the champs. They
[9:58] Speaker 1: can do whatever they want. It is now time for
[10:00] Speaker 1: the NFC West off season to do list, like to
[10:04] Speaker 1: welcome in. Well, Baldy is back. You just saw him
[10:06] Speaker 1: one second go. Stacey Dalls joins us. What's up, Stacy,
[10:09] Speaker 1: thank you for hanging out with us. I'm going to
[10:11] Speaker 1: go through the Seahawks off season priority list. Hit us
[10:15] Speaker 1: with it.
[10:15] Speaker 3: What do you got?
[10:16] Speaker 1: What is the Seahawks priority going forward?
[10:19] Speaker 7: Let's get to it.
[10:20] Speaker 8: But I am curious what a passport looks like to
[10:22] Speaker 8: be a citizen of the world, Baldy.
[10:24] Speaker 7: We'll revisit that later.
[10:25] Speaker 8: These Seahawks are going to continue to chase edges under
[10:28] Speaker 8: Mike McDonald. They're going to continue to have a dark
[10:30] Speaker 8: side defensively, but offensively, what are they going to look
[10:33] Speaker 8: like with Sam Darnold returning with the eighth rank total
[10:37] Speaker 8: offense from last season, third best scoring offense in a
[10:40] Speaker 8: brand new offensive coordinator that would be Brian Fleury. Spent
[10:43] Speaker 8: the last seven seasons with San Francisco comes by way
[10:46] Speaker 8: of being the tight ends coach and the run game coordinator. Now,
[10:49] Speaker 8: he has said multiple times on this to do list,
[10:52] Speaker 8: they want to keep things similar to what they did
[10:55] Speaker 8: with their Super Bowl run.
[10:57] Speaker 7: They want to maintain a lot of the.
[10:58] Speaker 8: Same principles, and certainly they want to.
[11:02] Speaker 7: Add those supplementary elements to.
[11:05] Speaker 8: The offense with a heavy emphasis in the run game
[11:08] Speaker 8: with Brian Fleury because he was the run game coordinator,
[11:11] Speaker 8: and most specifically Baldy. They want to get back to
[11:16] Speaker 8: using these running backs out of the backfield. Jadarian Price
[11:21] Speaker 8: will kick things off for them. Zach Charbonay probably not
[11:23] Speaker 8: going to be ready to start the season, but what
[11:26] Speaker 8: a pick they got at thirty second overall in and
[11:29] Speaker 8: out of the backfield with Price Stacey.
[11:32] Speaker 6: It's Brian Floury is a very very good coach, been
[11:34] Speaker 6: around him a long time. I think the other factor
[11:37] Speaker 6: to consider here is anytime you're the champion, you got
[11:40] Speaker 6: to target on your back. But they weren't just any champion.
[11:44] Speaker 6: They won the last ten games in a row. They
[11:46] Speaker 6: were seventeen and three as a team. Every team is
[11:50] Speaker 6: going to be going for them, and so I just
[11:52] Speaker 6: think it's they're now the champions.
[11:54] Speaker 5: They're not climbing the mountain. They're at the top of
[11:57] Speaker 5: the mountain.
[11:57] Speaker 6: Everybody will be saying, no matter who they are, they're
[12:00] Speaker 6: gonna be looking at Seattle.
[12:01] Speaker 5: We took down the champion. We take them down. We
[12:04] Speaker 5: can beat anybody. They're gonna get everybody's best effort week in,
[12:08] Speaker 5: week out.
[12:08] Speaker 6: And that's Mike McDonald's challenge right now to keep this
[12:12] Speaker 6: team hungry.
[12:13] Speaker 5: They're the way they were. They used that moniker last year,
[12:15] Speaker 5: Stacey the dark Side.
[12:17] Speaker 6: It was great. We all kind of fed into it
[12:19] Speaker 6: and the players did. Is there another moniker this year?
[12:22] Speaker 6: Is there another tarrot that they can dangle to keep
[12:25] Speaker 6: them as motivated and focused as they were a year
[12:28] Speaker 6: ago on their way to winning Super Bowl sixty.
[12:31] Speaker 1: I'll tell you what. On paper, they looked just as
[12:33] Speaker 1: good as they did last year, maybe better. Do they
[12:36] Speaker 1: have that drive to get there? Obviously? Great questions, guys,
[12:40] Speaker 1: great stuff, Thank you so much. The Seahawks get the
[12:44] Speaker 1: sort of luxurious champion treatment we're gonna get to the
[12:46] Speaker 1: other teams in the NFC West. Off Season two is
[12:50] Speaker 1: for Cardinals, Rams and forty nine Ers coming up in
[12:53] Speaker 1: just a little bit. But first, well, coming up first,
[12:57] Speaker 1: new lines tight end Tyler Konko and joins the show.
[13:01] Speaker 1: That is going to be a good one coming up
[13:03] Speaker 1: next to.
[13:03] Speaker 9: The Insiders, there's the family right there.
[13:14] Speaker 1: As Tyler Conklin signs his new deal with the Detroit Lions,
[13:17] Speaker 1: a whole family of new members of the Lions organization.
[13:22] Speaker 1: Very cool and obviously very important signing for the Lions
[13:25] Speaker 1: offense and the entire organization. And also our guest right
[13:28] Speaker 1: here right now on the Insiders, Tyler, thank you very
[13:32] Speaker 1: much for joining us on the Insiders. We've got a
[13:35] Speaker 1: lot to get a lot to get to with you,
[13:37] Speaker 1: but I want to start at June twenty seventh at
[13:40] Speaker 1: Lanscruise High School. That is the twenty twenty sixth version
[13:44] Speaker 1: of the Tyler Conklin Foundation Youth Football Day at Youth
[13:47] Speaker 1: Football Camp and community Day. Why don't you tell us
[13:51] Speaker 1: about what you have done with your camp, with your foundation,
[13:54] Speaker 1: which I believe is the first time in the Michigan
[13:57] Speaker 1: area for you.
[13:59] Speaker 5: Thanks for having me.
[14:01] Speaker 10: Yeah, So the foundation I started last year, and throughout
[14:04] Speaker 10: my career, I always like, you know, when I was
[14:06] Speaker 10: in Minnesota, it was a lot of older guys. Everybody
[14:07] Speaker 10: had a foundation, Adam Field, Kyle Rudolph, and there's always
[14:10] Speaker 10: something I wanted to do, but obviously for a long
[14:14] Speaker 10: time just trying to figure out how to how to
[14:15] Speaker 10: survive in the NFL.
[14:16] Speaker 11: So last year I feel like I.
[14:18] Speaker 10: Was, you know, in a good situation to kind of
[14:19] Speaker 10: kick it off and uh, you know, our mission, our
[14:23] Speaker 10: goal is to you know, support our community and mentor
[14:26] Speaker 10: our youth through athletics and the you know, our camp
[14:30] Speaker 10: slash Community Days is one of those kind of annual
[14:32] Speaker 10: events that you know, we we host trying to bring
[14:35] Speaker 10: the community together, you know, obviously for football with two
[14:38] Speaker 10: different uh you know camps, one for younger kids, one
[14:42] Speaker 10: for older kids, but also just with a lot of
[14:43] Speaker 10: fun things, whether it's we got cornhall, basketball, face painting,
[14:46] Speaker 10: bouncy houses, food trucks, really just trying to make it
[14:49] Speaker 10: a day where we can get people in the community,
[14:52] Speaker 10: whether it's you know, you're come because your kids are
[14:53] Speaker 10: in the camp, or you're.
[14:54] Speaker 11: Just coming to hang out with you know, kids, you know.
[14:58] Speaker 10: Families, whatever it may be, and just kind of try
[15:01] Speaker 10: to create something that people look forward to in the summer.
[15:05] Speaker 2: It's especially cool since you're from Michigan, you grew up there,
[15:09] Speaker 2: you went to college there, and now you're back. How
[15:11] Speaker 2: meaningful is that to you to be back in Michigan
[15:13] Speaker 2: now at this point in your career.
[15:15] Speaker 11: Yeah, that's awesome.
[15:18] Speaker 10: And I guess I never really thought I would play here,
[15:20] Speaker 10: but it is a really cool, kind of full circle moment.
[15:22] Speaker 11: The way things have kind of played out over the
[15:24] Speaker 11: last couple.
[15:24] Speaker 10: Of years, you know, good and bad, the way you
[15:27] Speaker 10: kind of look at things and just wonder. You know,
[15:29] Speaker 10: a firm believer everything happens for a reason, and it
[15:31] Speaker 10: always kind of has throughout my career, and to be
[15:34] Speaker 10: back here, it just kind of feels like everything happened
[15:37] Speaker 10: when it was supposed to do.
[15:39] Speaker 1: You're a late round draft pick, and obviously the Detroit Lions,
[15:42] Speaker 1: like a lot of teams, have the draft picks all
[15:44] Speaker 1: coming in. You guys are going to join together and
[15:46] Speaker 1: OTAs pretty soon. There's several of them who are trying
[15:49] Speaker 1: to make it in the NFL. You are a success
[15:52] Speaker 1: story entering I believe it is your ninth season, eighth
[15:55] Speaker 1: or ninth whatever it is in the NFL. Several teams
[15:58] Speaker 1: still doing it. Still a key memory of an organization.
[16:02] Speaker 1: What advice would you have to some of their Are
[16:05] Speaker 1: are you going to have for some of these new
[16:07] Speaker 1: laid round draft picks trying to make it like you did?
[16:10] Speaker 10: Yeah, going to your nine Right when I first got
[16:13] Speaker 10: an NFL was like, how can I play a decade?
[16:15] Speaker 11: I don't know why?
[16:16] Speaker 10: You know, obviously it sounds good as always kind of
[16:17] Speaker 10: a goal of me, and I think that's kind of
[16:19] Speaker 10: a big thing throughout my career has been, you know,
[16:22] Speaker 10: setting goals and then creating systems.
[16:24] Speaker 11: To kind of reach those goals.
[16:25] Speaker 10: And you know, that would probably be my advice, right, Like,
[16:28] Speaker 10: I think systems overall, you know, the way you go
[16:30] Speaker 10: about your recovery, the way you go.
[16:31] Speaker 11: About practice, studying a playbook.
[16:34] Speaker 10: You know, all those different things I think or what
[16:36] Speaker 10: have really helped me, you know, get to year nine.
[16:39] Speaker 11: I think being a.
[16:40] Speaker 10: Walk on in college, you know, played a lot played
[16:43] Speaker 10: into that too. Just knowing how to take advantage of opportunities,
[16:47] Speaker 10: you know when they're a little more slim maybe than
[16:49] Speaker 10: some other people. But yeah, I think it's all about
[16:52] Speaker 10: your systems. And you know a lot of times, keeping
[16:54] Speaker 10: your mouth shut and doing things the right way earn
[16:57] Speaker 10: your stripes. And you know, I think that's kind of
[17:00] Speaker 10: what's having here.
[17:03] Speaker 2: You and Drew Petsing overlapped earlier in your career, right
[17:06] Speaker 2: with the Vikings.
[17:06] Speaker 3: What what is he told you?
[17:08] Speaker 2: What if the folks in the organization told you about
[17:09] Speaker 2: how they plan to use you this year?
[17:12] Speaker 10: Yes, when I first got there, coach, Pessingan's assistant receiver
[17:15] Speaker 10: coach in eighteen and nineteen. Uh, you know, I was
[17:17] Speaker 10: just swim and trying to figure out how to how
[17:19] Speaker 10: to last. You know, honestly, I haven't really sat down.
[17:24] Speaker 10: I can't stay sat down and said, Hey, how are
[17:25] Speaker 10: you going to use me? How's this going to how's
[17:27] Speaker 10: this going to work out? I think for me, it's
[17:29] Speaker 10: more so I've been looking forward to coming here and
[17:31] Speaker 10: showing you know, what I can do on a football,
[17:33] Speaker 10: But I take every time I go somewhere I can
[17:36] Speaker 10: you know, I kind of surprise you with what I
[17:37] Speaker 10: can do. And I think a lot of times, especially
[17:39] Speaker 10: the tight end position, really all positions, it's just you know,
[17:43] Speaker 10: what's the situation. Does it fit you where they're asking
[17:45] Speaker 10: you to do or they helping you be in good situations?
[17:47] Speaker 1: Uh?
[17:48] Speaker 10: For me, it's like, how can I, you know, get
[17:50] Speaker 10: out in the field and play meaningful snatch and help
[17:52] Speaker 10: his team win and get to where you know they
[17:54] Speaker 10: want to go and we want to go. And you know,
[17:57] Speaker 10: I think in a lot of ways I can do
[17:59] Speaker 10: that with things that they've seen me do on film
[18:02] Speaker 10: and also in you know ways and things I'll show
[18:04] Speaker 10: him in practice where maybe they didn't know I could
[18:06] Speaker 10: do that, but I'll be able to.
[18:08] Speaker 1: Justin Herbert. Last year with the Chargers, you got Jared got.
[18:11] Speaker 1: This year with the Detroit Lions, you played with some
[18:13] Speaker 1: other good ones. But what do you expect?
[18:16] Speaker 3: What have you seen?
[18:17] Speaker 1: If you've seen anything thus far? Up Jared Got the
[18:20] Speaker 1: trigger man of this Detroit Lions offense.
[18:23] Speaker 11: Yeah, I obviously haven't been here too long, that's you
[18:25] Speaker 11: know yet.
[18:26] Speaker 10: But routs on air and just kind of the incident
[18:29] Speaker 10: meetings and the way he goes about things.
[18:32] Speaker 11: I think is what's stuck.
[18:33] Speaker 10: O mean, doesn't really catches the ball super accurate, but
[18:36] Speaker 10: just kind of the way he talks about whether it's
[18:38] Speaker 10: a certain route or you know, how he wants something done,
[18:40] Speaker 10: or how he sees something. If you know someone plays
[18:42] Speaker 10: you this way and how you should have run it,
[18:45] Speaker 10: you know, I think that's something. You know, some quarterbacks
[18:47] Speaker 10: are just hey, like go get open and you know,
[18:50] Speaker 10: do what the play says, and some give you a
[18:51] Speaker 10: little more detail. And so far as the way he
[18:53] Speaker 10: kind of detail stands up and you know, explains how he.
[18:56] Speaker 11: Sees things, I think makes it really uh makes it excited.
[19:00] Speaker 10: As a running in a pass gescher, but it also
[19:02] Speaker 10: just you know, helps you have a cohesive unit.
[19:06] Speaker 2: Last season was kind of a disappointment for the Lions
[19:08] Speaker 2: after they had been to the playoffs two straight season,
[19:11] Speaker 2: they missed the playoffs. They still have a really high
[19:13] Speaker 2: powered offense. So what have you seen just in the
[19:16] Speaker 2: limited time you've been there about maybe their mindset about
[19:19] Speaker 2: going into the season where they feel like they fit
[19:21] Speaker 2: into what is an extremely competitive division and an extremely
[19:25] Speaker 2: competitive conference.
[19:27] Speaker 10: Yeah, I definitely you can feel the disappointment in how
[19:30] Speaker 10: things played out. I think, you know, the whole building
[19:33] Speaker 10: feels like they you know, underachieved and missing the playoffs
[19:38] Speaker 10: really hurt. And you know, I think that shows and
[19:42] Speaker 10: how everybody comes to work every day, how everybody attacks working.
[19:44] Speaker 11: Our lists are are running or on the field stuff.
[19:49] Speaker 10: It's definitely something that I've been in a mix of
[19:52] Speaker 10: different situations started my career, rather as in Minnesota New York,
[19:56] Speaker 10: and you can definitely just feel the sense of urgency
[19:58] Speaker 10: of you know, getting to where this team knows it
[20:01] Speaker 10: can be.
[20:02] Speaker 1: All right, I got an important one. So tomorrow is
[20:05] Speaker 1: schedule release day. We spent last year with the Chargers.
[20:09] Speaker 1: I think it's fair to say, one of the better
[20:11] Speaker 1: social media teams in the NFL. This is their time, right,
[20:15] Speaker 1: This is the social media team's time to put out
[20:17] Speaker 1: their videos for these schedules. The line do an excellent
[20:20] Speaker 1: job on digital and social as well. How excited are
[20:24] Speaker 1: you and what have you learned from your various times
[20:26] Speaker 1: with some pretty good social teams about what in the
[20:29] Speaker 1: world is coming tomorrow night?
[20:31] Speaker 11: Yeah, I feel like it's got more.
[20:32] Speaker 10: I don't remember it being a thing when I first
[20:34] Speaker 10: got in the NFL, and I think over the last
[20:36] Speaker 10: couple of years it's kind of just like become this thing.
[20:38] Speaker 11: Who can have the best schedule retlease.
[20:40] Speaker 10: I'm also just really excited for people to stop asking, Hey,
[20:43] Speaker 10: what's your guys' schedule?
[20:44] Speaker 11: Act like I have some type.
[20:46] Speaker 10: Of too good knowledge of who we play and when
[20:49] Speaker 10: we play and when we go to Germany and all
[20:51] Speaker 10: these different things. So I'm excited for the schedule to
[20:53] Speaker 10: come out and people to stop asking me questions I
[20:56] Speaker 10: don't have the answers to. But yeah, Chargers that have
[21:00] Speaker 10: a really good social media team. Uh, but I think
[21:04] Speaker 10: I think Detroit may have a real good one the ship.
[21:07] Speaker 2: Speaking of social media, I saw that you are taking
[21:10] Speaker 2: jiu jitsu lessons.
[21:12] Speaker 1: What are you getting out of that?
[21:15] Speaker 10: Oh yeah, I've kind of gone down a little bit
[21:17] Speaker 10: of a rabbit hole, which is martial arts in general,
[21:19] Speaker 10: the jiu jitsu, more Thai boxing, and I just think
[21:22] Speaker 10: there's a lot of things that you know, it can translate,
[21:25] Speaker 10: whether it's hand fighting, the cardio, the you know jiu
[21:28] Speaker 10: jitsu really with like just like fighting leverage and you know,
[21:32] Speaker 10: winning the hand fights and hand battles. It's also just
[21:36] Speaker 10: kind of a fun way to break up training and
[21:39] Speaker 10: maybe kind of take out some of the monotony of
[21:42] Speaker 10: just doing the same thing over and over again as
[21:44] Speaker 10: my career you know, goes on. So yeah, I mean,
[21:47] Speaker 10: marshal arts in general has been something I've I've kind
[21:49] Speaker 10: of dabbled in this offseason and really enjoyed it.
[21:53] Speaker 1: Whatever it takes, man, get to your ten, hit your goal,
[21:56] Speaker 1: and keep on going. Tyler, thank you very much for
[21:59] Speaker 1: your time. Appreciate you joining us on the Insiders and
[22:02] Speaker 1: enjoy your foundation in camp. That sounds excellent. Appreciate you man.
[22:06] Speaker 11: Also, thank you guys, really appreciate it.
[22:09] Speaker 1: Will arned today that the NFL's international slate for the
[22:13] Speaker 1: twenty twenty sixth season is pretty awesome. Nine games, a
[22:17] Speaker 1: lot of teams. Uh, And they're right. There is a
[22:20] Speaker 1: visual representation of where in the actual world, like literally
[22:24] Speaker 1: the world all the games are. That's a really cool map.
[22:27] Speaker 1: What a fun, fun international schedule we got coming up?
[22:31] Speaker 1: We also gonna have some fun in this, as they
[22:33] Speaker 1: say new tradition packers at rams Thanksgiving Eve. What am
[22:38] Speaker 1: I going to be doing? I don't know, watching football,
[22:41] Speaker 1: maybe having a drink, all of the things I love
[22:43] Speaker 1: the most on this holiday.
[22:44] Speaker 10: Go.
[22:44] Speaker 1: This is gonna be great anyway, NFC wes off season
[22:47] Speaker 1: to do list coming up. I'm here. Ian Rappaport, Judy Bautista,
[22:51] Speaker 1: Stacy DALs, and Mark Ross join us as well. Stacey,
[22:55] Speaker 1: I want to get to you want to see if
[22:57] Speaker 1: you could lay out the Los Angeles rams os and
[23:00] Speaker 1: priorities if you like. You can also talk about how
[23:03] Speaker 1: much you like to have a drink and watch football
[23:06] Speaker 1: like I do.
[23:09] Speaker 7: I wouldn't mind it. That would be enjoyable.
[23:11] Speaker 8: I typically work on the weekends, So Ian, let's talk
[23:14] Speaker 8: about the rams, or I should say the holidays. Let's
[23:16] Speaker 8: talk about the rams, right? What's there to do list?
[23:19] Speaker 8: Have us suggest them do well? Better, the best offense
[23:22] Speaker 8: in football. Number one total, number one scoring, number one passing.
[23:25] Speaker 8: They were even seventh running the football. Cliff Kingsbury's there
[23:29] Speaker 8: is the assistant head coach. There's some new ideas there
[23:31] Speaker 8: for Sean McVay, but he has consistently this offseason talked
[23:34] Speaker 8: about what is the next iteration of this offense.
[23:38] Speaker 7: And when you look at their draft.
[23:40] Speaker 8: Now forget about the fact that they took Ty Simpson
[23:43] Speaker 8: thirteenth overall. He has made it very clear this is
[23:45] Speaker 8: Matthew Stafford's team until Matthew doesn't want to play football anymore.
[23:48] Speaker 8: But the next two picks, Max Clear the tight end
[23:51] Speaker 8: in the second round, and Keegan trust was another offensive
[23:55] Speaker 8: lineman they've added now to help Matthew Stafford. And then
[23:58] Speaker 8: I circle the tight ends. This is so important. Nobody
[24:02] Speaker 8: played more thirteen personnel than the Los Angeles Rams. When
[24:06] Speaker 8: you think about Parkinson, Higbee, Ferguson, and now they've added
[24:10] Speaker 8: Max Clair, who's equally as good catching the football.
[24:12] Speaker 7: As he is in the blocking game.
[24:14] Speaker 8: In light tight end, he's so good after the catch.
[24:17] Speaker 8: They had more thirteen personnel groupings twice as much than.
[24:22] Speaker 7: Anybody else in the NFL.
[24:23] Speaker 8: That is just shocking Mark and that group is really
[24:26] Speaker 8: the nucleus of how this thing branches out for Matthew Stafford.
[24:30] Speaker 7: And it just got better with Max Claire in the.
[24:32] Speaker 3: Picture for sure, and everybody's trying to copy the Rams
[24:35] Speaker 3: doing that stacy, but no one can do it quite
[24:37] Speaker 3: like them. And more of a big picture to do
[24:39] Speaker 3: list is figuring out this balancing act of win nowt
[24:43] Speaker 3: and you talked about Matthew Stafford is his team until
[24:46] Speaker 3: he doesn't want to play anymore, versus build for the future,
[24:49] Speaker 3: And you mentioned Ty Simpson, which was quite the shock
[24:52] Speaker 3: in the first round there because the Rams were so close,
[24:55] Speaker 3: probably a player two away from being in the Super
[24:57] Speaker 3: Bowl and being the champions as well, thinking, wow, they're
[25:00] Speaker 3: going to use that pick to go help out Matthew
[25:03] Speaker 3: Stafford or help out the defense. Well, low and behold,
[25:06] Speaker 3: they go take Ty Simpson for the future whenever he
[25:09] Speaker 3: gets on the field. And a lot of big decisions
[25:11] Speaker 3: still to be made with Matthew Stafford with the contract
[25:14] Speaker 3: extension and a lot of those young players at Nucleus
[25:17] Speaker 3: you talked about the Poop and Nikouas and Kobe Turners
[25:20] Speaker 3: of the world of their contracts are coming up as well,
[25:23] Speaker 3: So a lot to be done for the Rams of all, right,
[25:25] Speaker 3: are we going for it or are we still trying
[25:27] Speaker 3: to build for the future?
[25:29] Speaker 2: Stacy, A little bit of an off year for the
[25:31] Speaker 2: forty nine ers last season, Lots and lots of injuries.
[25:34] Speaker 4: What's there to do? Lists still look like this year?
[25:38] Speaker 8: Yeah, Judy, it was the War of injury attrition, but
[25:40] Speaker 8: they still made the playoffs. That division, this division we're
[25:43] Speaker 8: talking about, was incredible. They finished third, They make the playoffs,
[25:49] Speaker 8: ultimately lose there in the divisional round two. Seattle, they
[25:51] Speaker 8: had a tough time with them last season, but you
[25:54] Speaker 8: mentioned the injuries, and now Raheem Morris comes in. They
[25:57] Speaker 8: have had five different defensive coordinators in the past five seasons.
[26:01] Speaker 7: So let's hope Raheem Morris, who we all love.
[26:04] Speaker 8: Sticks because they've got to get better in a number
[26:06] Speaker 8: of areas. Fred Warner will be back from that nasty
[26:09] Speaker 8: ankle injury from last season. MIKEL Williams and Nick Bosa
[26:13] Speaker 8: both suffered acls. They will be back at some point.
[26:17] Speaker 8: But nobody had fewer sacks in the league, twenty of
[26:20] Speaker 8: them than the San Francisco forty nine ers. It has
[26:23] Speaker 8: to start up front. So what do you do?
[26:25] Speaker 7: You add Drake Greenlaw, you.
[26:26] Speaker 8: Add odegz o'diggie zoo wa os o'digie zooa. In the draft,
[26:32] Speaker 8: you add Romelo Height out of Texas Tech, my guy
[26:35] Speaker 8: out of Oklahoma, Grayson Halton to plug up the middle defensively,
[26:38] Speaker 8: a lot of new faces, Mark to help bolster that
[26:41] Speaker 8: sack number that was so low last season. We'll see
[26:44] Speaker 8: what Raheem Morris can do, because we know Kyle's going
[26:46] Speaker 8: to get things done offensively for.
[26:49] Speaker 3: Sure, and Stacey, you teed it up and Judy teed
[26:51] Speaker 3: it up first. With the injuries, the to do list
[26:54] Speaker 3: is design a better injury prevention plan for these guys
[26:58] Speaker 3: because this has not it's been a one year deal.
[27:01] Speaker 3: With the forty nine ers, it's been years where they've
[27:03] Speaker 3: been at the top of the league with these injuries.
[27:06] Speaker 3: And it's you know, it's not if injuries happen, it's win,
[27:09] Speaker 3: how bad and who it happens to. And for the
[27:12] Speaker 3: forty nine ers, it was all their big stars. Fred
[27:14] Speaker 3: Warner with the ankle, George Kittle with the achilles, Bosa
[27:18] Speaker 3: with the acl, Brock Purty with the toe, even Mikel
[27:21] Speaker 3: Williams with the ACL last year, and then the double
[27:24] Speaker 3: down in the free agency. They bringing Mike Evans who
[27:27] Speaker 3: was hurt and missed eight games last year, Christian Kirk
[27:30] Speaker 3: who missed games with the handy. So not only their
[27:32] Speaker 3: own players have to stay healthy. The guys they brought
[27:36] Speaker 3: in this free agents, they have so much talent. If
[27:38] Speaker 3: they can say on the field, you know they can
[27:40] Speaker 3: win it all.
[27:42] Speaker 1: It's still amazing what they did last year. Despite all
[27:44] Speaker 1: of that, guys, thank you so much for your insight,
[27:47] Speaker 1: great stuff. I would not say we are done yet.
[27:50] Speaker 1: Let's see, we did the Seahawks, we did the forty
[27:53] Speaker 1: nine ers, we did the Rams. One more NFC West
[27:56] Speaker 1: team in our offseason to do list, the Cardinals. Yeah,
[28:00] Speaker 1: we're talking about that. Next on the inside.
[28:10] Speaker 2: One team left in our NFC West off season to
[28:14] Speaker 2: do list.
[28:14] Speaker 1: Stacy is back.
[28:15] Speaker 7: So is Baldy Stacy.
[28:17] Speaker 2: It is the Arizona Cardinals. What is left for them
[28:20] Speaker 2: to do?
[28:22] Speaker 8: Well? They got a ton of work to do. But Judy,
[28:24] Speaker 8: before we go on, I need Baldy to break down
[28:27] Speaker 8: what it's like to be a citizen of the world.
[28:29] Speaker 8: Maybe we'll get to that in a second. As far
[28:31] Speaker 8: as the Arizona Cardinals. Go, you stayed on the lower
[28:35] Speaker 8: third there, that's the bottom of your scheme.
[28:36] Speaker 7: How rushing attack.
[28:37] Speaker 8: Michael Floor takes over as the head coach, but he's
[28:41] Speaker 8: obviously there with the new offensive coordinator, Nathaniel Hackett. This
[28:44] Speaker 8: is a team that ranked thirty first in the run
[28:46] Speaker 8: last season, a poultry ninety three rush yards per game. So, Baldy,
[28:50] Speaker 8: on their to do list is they have to make
[28:52] Speaker 8: Jeremiah Love the centerpiece of their offense. And he can
[28:57] Speaker 8: be the centerpiece of their offense.
[28:58] Speaker 3: He is that good.
[28:59] Speaker 7: But they have both of their line.
[29:00] Speaker 8: They have added obviously Wilkinson, Tyler Algier to the backfield,
[29:05] Speaker 8: Chase Basontis they drafted in the second round who's going
[29:08] Speaker 8: to plug up on the interior, and Isaac Samlo. So
[29:11] Speaker 8: they've done a few things, Baldy, but that has to
[29:14] Speaker 8: be where this offense starts. We know that Michae Laflor
[29:18] Speaker 8: is going to have a lot of pre stout motion,
[29:20] Speaker 8: so they got a lot of teaching to do as
[29:22] Speaker 8: they established this offense around who we think will be
[29:25] Speaker 8: Jacoby Brissett at quarterback with mister Carson back peeking over
[29:29] Speaker 8: his shoulder.
[29:30] Speaker 7: That they took in the first third round.
[29:31] Speaker 6: Excuse me, teaching and coaching, they're kind of simnul you know,
[29:36] Speaker 6: they're kind of simultaneous there. Michael Leflora has got to
[29:39] Speaker 6: be a miracle worker because they bring back Nick Ralis,
[29:42] Speaker 6: the defensive coordinator, and they bring back largely the same
[29:46] Speaker 6: defense from a year ago when they weren't very good
[29:49] Speaker 6: and they were one fourteen in their last fifteen games
[29:51] Speaker 6: after starting to and oh, Michael Lafleur has got his
[29:54] Speaker 6: work cut out for him.
[29:54] Speaker 5: Maybe with the additions of the.
[29:56] Speaker 6: Offense line and Jeremiah Love, maybe they can control the
[30:00] Speaker 6: game a whole lot better than the trenches with that
[30:02] Speaker 6: rushing attack and maybe not asked the quarterback to do
[30:05] Speaker 6: so much. But you know, I'm anxious to see just
[30:08] Speaker 6: what might brings and if it's enough to get this
[30:11] Speaker 6: team competitive. They were owned six, you know in the
[30:15] Speaker 6: NFC West, the competitive NFC West last year. They're going
[30:18] Speaker 6: to start, you know, winning some games in that division
[30:21] Speaker 6: if they want to climb up and be more competitive
[30:23] Speaker 6: in NFC.
[30:25] Speaker 8: What I want to know, Baldy, is does anybody have
[30:27] Speaker 8: as competitive a passport as you?
[30:29] Speaker 7: I think you're in Florida.
[30:30] Speaker 8: We know you've been all over the country, but you
[30:33] Speaker 8: did say you were a citizen of the world.
[30:35] Speaker 7: What can you show us.
[30:36] Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't need this to get to Florida, Stacey,
[30:39] Speaker 6: but I do. I do need it to get to
[30:40] Speaker 6: the seventy countries that I have visited. I am a
[30:43] Speaker 6: seven Continent Club member. You know, there's only seven continents,
[30:46] Speaker 6: so I visited all seven and Artica was a little
[30:48] Speaker 6: bit of a challenge, Stacy, but I enjoyed.
[30:51] Speaker 5: I enjoyed my time in Antarctica.
[30:54] Speaker 6: And you know, this will get me to Lebanon into
[30:56] Speaker 6: you know, Thailand this year, so we'll add to that
[30:58] Speaker 6: seventy number.
[30:59] Speaker 5: But ogo passport control, you got to have it.
[31:02] Speaker 6: You got to be able to walk right through facial identification,
[31:04] Speaker 6: like all that stuff that's going on is making the
[31:07] Speaker 6: travel a little.
[31:07] Speaker 5: Bit of user And I'll have this, Stacy, Mine. I
[31:10] Speaker 5: just checked it.
[31:10] Speaker 6: My visa for Brazil is still active. So if they
[31:13] Speaker 6: want to send me to Rio, you know, to go
[31:15] Speaker 6: cover that game. I'm like, you don't have to worry
[31:18] Speaker 6: about my passport. It's good to go. I think, yes,
[31:24] Speaker 6: say one of the seventy countries job just in case
[31:27] Speaker 6: you were.
[31:27] Speaker 5: Curious, Yes, I have played many many There we go
[31:31] Speaker 5: and yes, Canada, guys, thank you very much.
[31:36] Speaker 2: Tomorrow we're going to look at the NFC North to
[31:39] Speaker 2: do list.
[31:39] Speaker 3: Ian, I'm supposed.
[31:42] Speaker 1: To follow that. Me and Michael f Furio for Inside
[31:45] Speaker 1: NFL Fantasy Live, we are supposed to follow that. I've
[31:48] Speaker 1: never been to Antarctica. I me into some continents, but
[31:51] Speaker 1: not all of them, like three, but not seven. Also
[31:56] Speaker 1: great to know from Baldi that there actually are seven contents.
[31:59] Speaker 1: If you're tuning into this network and to this show
[32:02] Speaker 1: to learn about more than just football, you got some
[32:07] Speaker 1: continent news right there. All right, Michael F. We want
[32:10] Speaker 1: a little more Cardinals news here. We heard the breakdown
[32:13] Speaker 1: from Damn's in Our World Traveler, just the segment right
[32:17] Speaker 1: before this. So from a fantasy perspective, why don't you
[32:20] Speaker 1: tell me what the Cardinals offense is going to look like?
[32:23] Speaker 1: They are a really really interesting team.
[32:25] Speaker 4: Yeah, if the bosses are listening, my passport's up to date.
[32:28] Speaker 4: So if Baldy needs someone to travel with him, I
[32:31] Speaker 4: am more than willing to do so. But yeah, it's
[32:34] Speaker 4: gonna look very different with Mike Lafleur now in charge
[32:37] Speaker 4: of this offense. For Arizona and Lafleur was the OC
[32:41] Speaker 4: with the Rams the last couple of years, but he
[32:43] Speaker 4: was not the play caller there. He did previously call
[32:46] Speaker 4: plays with the Jets. Though, what I expect is a
[32:49] Speaker 4: much more balanced approach, similarly to what the Rams have
[32:52] Speaker 4: ran the last couple of years. Drew Pensig was very
[32:55] Speaker 4: run heavy his first two seasons with the Cardinals, and
[32:58] Speaker 4: then last year they threw more than anyone by necessity.
[33:01] Speaker 4: So comparing the two offenses, I think we're going to
[33:03] Speaker 4: get more deep passes, more play action, and the biggest
[33:07] Speaker 4: thing for me, more three wide receiver sets and a
[33:09] Speaker 4: lot more outside zone runs. I will explain why that
[33:12] Speaker 4: is very important to this offense in just a second.
[33:16] Speaker 1: Well that's all well and good, but what about the
[33:17] Speaker 1: quarterback situation. How's that going to shake out? Jacoby Brissette
[33:21] Speaker 1: was awesome last year. I came on this show every
[33:23] Speaker 1: week and pounding the table for him. He was the
[33:26] Speaker 1: fantasy QB six after taking over while leading the NFL
[33:30] Speaker 1: in passing yards per game and having the second most
[33:32] Speaker 1: multi touchdown games, all while being under the pressure.
[33:35] Speaker 4: At the second highest rate. So I do think, though
[33:38] Speaker 4: this could look a little different this year. I would
[33:40] Speaker 4: expect Lafleur to want Brissett to try to air the
[33:42] Speaker 4: ball out more, attack the perimeter, maybe even get the
[33:46] Speaker 4: tight end involved a little bit more. Brissette last year, though,
[33:49] Speaker 4: was very heavily dumping the ball off to the running
[33:51] Speaker 4: back that feels O line related. The rams though, did
[33:54] Speaker 4: not do that at a high rate. So I do
[33:57] Speaker 4: wonder if instead of seeing a lot of checkdowns, if
[33:59] Speaker 4: we see them trying to get Brisset more downfield. But
[34:03] Speaker 4: for fantasy purposes, I think he's going to be better
[34:05] Speaker 4: than the price you have to pay on draft day.
[34:07] Speaker 4: The only concern is Carson Beck is now breathing down
[34:10] Speaker 4: his neck.
[34:11] Speaker 1: Okay, what about Jeremiah Love? What can we expect of
[34:13] Speaker 1: their shiny new rookie.
[34:15] Speaker 4: Yeah, we all know what Jeremiah Love is as a prospect,
[34:19] Speaker 4: and I believe in the talent. And like I was
[34:22] Speaker 4: just saying, Brissett last year dumped off at a high rate.
[34:24] Speaker 4: That really helps Jeremiah Love. He's an excellent pass catcher.
[34:28] Speaker 4: And like I said, I think Lafloor helps this rushing
[34:30] Speaker 4: attack and I think he adds a lot more outside runs,
[34:33] Speaker 4: which is great because getting the ball in Jeremiah Love's
[34:36] Speaker 4: hand in space is everything you want if you are
[34:39] Speaker 4: drafting him in fantasy or you are in a Cardinals fan.
[34:42] Speaker 4: But the negatives he does have to deal with a
[34:45] Speaker 4: very crowded backfield as of today. I worry about Tyler
[34:48] Speaker 4: Alzier coming in and vulturing touchdowns like he did to
[34:51] Speaker 4: be Jean Robinson. And like Bald he was saying the
[34:54] Speaker 4: Cardinals could be trailing a lot, which is really negative
[34:57] Speaker 4: game script for the running attack one of view him,
[35:00] Speaker 4: like Asha Gentil last year, there will be some Spike Weeks.
[35:03] Speaker 4: There will be a lot of Doud Weeks in there.
[35:05] Speaker 4: But if you want him early second round price at
[35:08] Speaker 4: the latest is what you gotta pay. And that's a
[35:10] Speaker 4: little bit too rich for my blood.
[35:12] Speaker 1: Plenty of intrigue for the Cardinals receiver situation. Walk me
[35:16] Speaker 1: through that from a fantasy standpoint.
[35:18] Speaker 4: Yeah, Michael Wilson is everyone's favorite right now, and he
[35:20] Speaker 4: was electric with Jacobe Prissett. In fact, from eleven week
[35:23] Speaker 4: eleven on he was the wide receiver two and nearly
[35:26] Speaker 4: doubled his touchdown total in his final five games for
[35:29] Speaker 4: his career. But as you see on this Twitter here,
[35:32] Speaker 4: even with perset. Most of Wilson's production came when Marvin
[35:36] Speaker 4: Harrison Junior was not playing. The numbers took a huge
[35:39] Speaker 4: hit when he was out there, which is why of
[35:42] Speaker 4: the two and they're getting drafted in similar ranges. I
[35:45] Speaker 4: still prefer Marvin Harrison Junior, even despite the fact that
[35:48] Speaker 4: he has yet to finish as a top thirty five
[35:50] Speaker 4: Fantasy wide receiver. And I know people are going to say, well,
[35:53] Speaker 4: he is the second lowest catching since he entered the NFL.
[35:56] Speaker 4: He also has the second lowest catchable target rate, so
[35:59] Speaker 4: I would argue that he has been unlucky since he's
[36:02] Speaker 4: entered the NFL. I do think better days are ahead
[36:05] Speaker 4: for him, But Wilson and Harrison are competing to be
[36:08] Speaker 4: the number two target behind Trey McBride, and because of that,
[36:12] Speaker 4: I still, even with them going out of reduced ADP
[36:15] Speaker 4: compared to last year, at least for Harrison, I don't
[36:17] Speaker 4: love paying that price to get him.
[36:19] Speaker 1: And finally, Trey McBride run the real superstars on this
[36:23] Speaker 1: Arizona Cardinals team. What do you foresee for this star
[36:26] Speaker 1: tight end for you?
[36:27] Speaker 3: Yeah?
[36:27] Speaker 4: Look, he was amazing last year ten touchdowns in twelve
[36:30] Speaker 4: games with Jakobe he had five In thirty nine games
[36:34] Speaker 4: with Kyler Murray, he scored one hundred and five more
[36:36] Speaker 4: Fantasy points in the next closest tight end.
[36:38] Speaker 3: He led the.
[36:39] Speaker 4: Position in target an air yard, share of red zone targets, snaps, routs,
[36:43] Speaker 4: whatever the category is, you pick it, he led them
[36:45] Speaker 4: in it. So it may be hard for him to
[36:48] Speaker 4: duplicate that success again. But the Rams did throw the
[36:52] Speaker 4: highest percentage of passes two tight ends in the NFL.
[36:55] Speaker 4: So with laflour here, I think it's possible that McBride's
[36:59] Speaker 4: involvement in this offense could somehow even say the same
[37:02] Speaker 4: or even grow. But again, if you want him, you're
[37:06] Speaker 4: going to have to take him in round two, or
[37:08] Speaker 4: you are not going to have him on your teams
[37:09] Speaker 4: this year.
[37:11] Speaker 1: Taking notes, mental notes and otherwise for you great stuff
[37:14] Speaker 1: as always, love you, digging in hardcore to the Arizona Cardinals.
[37:19] Speaker 1: The Miami Dolphins have checked off a big piece of
[37:22] Speaker 1: their to do list. Devon Hn, their star running back,
[37:25] Speaker 1: has agreed to terms on a four year, sixty four
[37:28] Speaker 1: million dollars contract extension. You can get up to sixty
[37:32] Speaker 1: eight million dollars. That is the max value thirty two
[37:35] Speaker 1: million dollars guaranteed a big piece of the Miami Dolphins offense. Now,
[37:40] Speaker 1: Judy locked in for the foreseeable future. All right, and
[37:45] Speaker 1: welcome back to Mark Ross.
[37:46] Speaker 2: We're going to talk about rookies who are in the
[37:49] Speaker 2: best position to succeed in twenty twenty six. So, Mark,
[37:52] Speaker 2: who you got is your first candidate?
[37:54] Speaker 3: First one is RBL Reese, the dynamic and versatile linebacker rusher,
[37:59] Speaker 3: do it all all from Ohio State, and that was
[38:01] Speaker 3: a big thing coming out. Well where's he going to play?
[38:04] Speaker 3: What's he gonna do? Or with the Giants he can
[38:06] Speaker 3: do all of the above. And look, the Giants already
[38:08] Speaker 3: have Brian Burns and out Dual Carter and Kevon Thibodeau
[38:11] Speaker 3: on the edges, which will allow rvil Reese to do
[38:14] Speaker 3: what he did at Ohio State, and that was just
[38:16] Speaker 3: go play all over the place and go make plays.
[38:19] Speaker 3: He'll be able to learn and grow in a multiple
[38:21] Speaker 3: positions because those guys are already there.
[38:24] Speaker 1: The love r.
[38:24] Speaker 3: L reseat number five for the Giants, so I thought
[38:27] Speaker 3: was the best defensive player in the draft.
[38:30] Speaker 1: Take me through one of the four first round wide receivers.
[38:35] Speaker 3: Let's stay in the NFC East here and Makayle Lemon
[38:37] Speaker 3: for the Eagles. You know, despite the draft night drama
[38:41] Speaker 3: there with Makayle Levion, what's overshadow is he's a heck
[38:44] Speaker 3: of a player and we'll be an outstanding fit there
[38:47] Speaker 3: with Philly. Of course, we know Philly. Everything runs through
[38:50] Speaker 3: sa Quan in the run game. They're hoping to get
[38:51] Speaker 3: that back up DeVante Smith blowing the top off with
[38:55] Speaker 3: the vertical routes. And then new offensive coordinators Sean Mannion
[38:59] Speaker 3: who comes from that, Sean McVeigh tree of the play action,
[39:02] Speaker 3: the short passing game which made Cooper Cup and pookin
[39:05] Speaker 3: Nakua feast. And that's what makay Lemon does. Play in
[39:09] Speaker 3: that slot, get opened underneath with quick routes and catches everything.
[39:13] Speaker 3: So I think in that Eagle's new Eagles offense, he
[39:16] Speaker 3: will really thrive. Mark, do you have a running back?
[39:20] Speaker 4: Why not?
[39:21] Speaker 3: Let's go Jendarium Price. I know we mentioned in the
[39:23] Speaker 3: in the show earlier, but the running back from Notre
[39:27] Speaker 3: Dame going to the Seahawks and what better way to
[39:29] Speaker 3: step in to the Super Bowl champions Oh and by
[39:32] Speaker 3: the way, the MVP Kenneth Walker is out the door.
[39:36] Speaker 3: The other income and running back Zach Charbonay may not
[39:38] Speaker 3: be back because the ACL. So that opens the door
[39:41] Speaker 3: for Jendarium Price to just step right into that offense
[39:43] Speaker 3: that still has JSN and Rashid Shaheed is back with
[39:47] Speaker 3: Sam Darnold growing into that offense another year and a
[39:50] Speaker 3: hiitten gym that people don't know about Price is he
[39:53] Speaker 3: was the most dynamic kick returner in Collins last season.
[39:56] Speaker 3: So you have him in Shaheed back there. That's scary.
[40:00] Speaker 11: All right?
[40:01] Speaker 1: One more, Mark, give me a guard, take me into
[40:04] Speaker 1: this one right here?
[40:06] Speaker 3: We going with Vega here, Vega Yo from Penn State.
[40:10] Speaker 3: He would he would have been a great fit anywhere
[40:12] Speaker 3: he went, but in Baltimore with King Henry and Lamar,
[40:15] Speaker 3: that's even the most perfect fit. That was the chatter
[40:19] Speaker 3: going up to the draft. He's going to Baltimore. They
[40:21] Speaker 3: actually got him, and I think we're no matter where
[40:23] Speaker 3: he went, he'll be and he would have been an
[40:26] Speaker 3: all pro guard.
[40:28] Speaker 2: Mark, great stuff as always, Thank you very much, and
[40:32] Speaker 2: everybody out there, you're already watching the Insiders, but just
[40:34] Speaker 2: to reinforce it, you can see us Monday through Friday,
[40:37] Speaker 2: seven pm Eastern on NFL Network wherever you get your podcasts,
[40:42] Speaker 2: we will be here to break down the schedule news
[40:44] Speaker 2: tomorrow and Friday and going forward. So Kirk Cousins is
[40:49] Speaker 2: making himself right at home in Las Vegas. He's winding
[40:52] Speaker 2: up the air fort like, don't hurt your shoulder here, Kirk.
[40:56] Speaker 2: This was the Vegas Golden Knight's OT win last night.
[41:00] Speaker 2: I believe it was Kurt doing a good job there.
[41:04] Speaker 2: But man, be careful. Okay, International Games, Let's take one
[41:09] Speaker 2: more look at this slate.
[41:10] Speaker 7: With very very tiny print.
[41:13] Speaker 2: Nine games, sixteen different teams playing internationally this year, more
[41:18] Speaker 2: to come undoubtedly in years to come. I can't wait
[41:21] Speaker 2: for these games. I love watching games at nine point
[41:24] Speaker 2: thirty in the morning on Sundays.
[41:25] Speaker 3: I got to be.
[41:26] Speaker 1: Honest, Ian, A lot of teams flying places. And if
[41:29] Speaker 1: you wonder just how much they're flying, that is a
[41:32] Speaker 1: lot of miles. We look at the forty nine ers,
[41:35] Speaker 1: more than thirty eight thousand miles. That is a that
[41:38] Speaker 1: is a lot. You can go through the whole list.
[41:40] Speaker 1: I'm not going to read the whole list for you,
[41:41] Speaker 1: but just know a lot of teams are flying a lot,
[41:44] Speaker 1: except the Patriots, who are flying a little. And by
[41:46] Speaker 1: the way, Judy, congratulations you were a million mile flyer.
[41:50] Speaker 1: This must be very nice for you.
[41:53] Speaker 7: It was very excited.
[41:54] Speaker 3: I went.
[41:55] Speaker 2: I got over a million miles on my flight to
[41:57] Speaker 2: the super Bowl, as it happens, so symmetry there, since
[42:01] Speaker 2: most of those miles were on crazy trips to like Buffalo, Foxborough,
[42:05] Speaker 2: Kansas City.
[42:06] Speaker 3: You're very close too.
[42:08] Speaker 1: I am. It's actually amazing. I'm at eight hundred and
[42:11] Speaker 1: ninety nine thousand on Delta right now. This is a look,
[42:14] Speaker 1: it's a milestone. I got to credit all the little
[42:17] Speaker 1: people who got me there. Actually there weren't a lot
[42:18] Speaker 1: of people. It's really just me plus a lot of
[42:20] Speaker 1: travel agents.
[42:21] Speaker 3: What does this mean?
[42:22] Speaker 1: Means we spend a lot of times on airplane. Not
[42:24] Speaker 1: as much time as we spend in our house on
[42:27] Speaker 1: TV talking to each other, but a lot of times. Anyway,
[42:30] Speaker 1: That is our show.
[42:31] Speaker 3: Great one.
[42:31] Speaker 1: Tomorrow, chiefs head coach Andy Reid joins the show.
[42:35] Speaker 5: We'll see you
