[0:02] Speaker 1: Can anybody here play defense? Anybody? Coming up on the
[0:06] Speaker 1: NFL Report, everything we learned from a wild, and I
[0:09] Speaker 1: mean wild, first Sunday of football. How about last week
[0:14] Speaker 1: or next week? Will Miles Garrett be back anytime soon?
[0:18] Speaker 1: We'll tell you when the Rams think the DPOI will
[0:21] Speaker 1: be back on the field. And it is not just
[0:25] Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes making a comeback. Also making a comeback, it's
[0:28] Speaker 1: Bo Nix this evening. It's a Monday night preview in
[0:32] Speaker 1: Kansas City. Coming up next on the NFL Report. In
[0:37] Speaker 1: those 20 seconds, Jameis Winston just put on more cologne. Hi,
[0:40] Speaker 1: welcome to the NFL Report. We're presented to you by Nationwide.
[0:43] Speaker 1: My name is Andrew Siciliano from our studios in Los Angeles.
[0:47] Speaker 1: This is where you need to be for any and
[0:49] Speaker 1: everything you need to know about the National Football League
[0:51] Speaker 1: in week one. Coming up, Scott Hanson will be here.
[0:54] Speaker 1: Red Zone multiverse world's will converge. Normally we do latest headlines.
[0:59] Speaker 1: Let's do latest highlights. How about that? Let's get back
[1:01] Speaker 1: to the wild Sunday, as mentioned, that included a would-be
[1:05] Speaker 1: AFC championship game preview in Houston. Pick it up fourth quarter.
[1:09] Speaker 1: Bills up six. When David Montgomery gets in the end zone,
[1:13] Speaker 1: he had three touchdowns. He'll also be joining the show
[1:16] Speaker 1: later in the week as well. And Houston has a lead, 31-30,
[1:19] Speaker 1: until Josh Allen does this. You didn't tell me Josh
[1:23] Speaker 1: Allen had a hand cannon in the back seat. Oh,
[1:26] Speaker 1: he does. 34-yard touchdown to Josh Palmer. You're not supposed
[1:30] Speaker 1: to make that throw. He beat Kamari Lasseter after Lasseter
[1:33] Speaker 1: had dropped a pick that could or would have ended
[1:35] Speaker 1: the game. But C.J. Stroud still had a chance until
[1:38] Speaker 1: he got sacked on consecutive plays, including this one by
[1:41] Speaker 1: Greg Rousseau. That's a strip sack. That is a game winner.
[1:46] Speaker 1: And Buffalo and Joe Brady get out of there with
[1:48] Speaker 1: a win. Game ball. Joe Brady first one. Yeah! Hey,
[1:56] Speaker 1: we said it from the jump. It's never about me, man. Hey,
[2:02] Speaker 1: it's never about me. Hey, it's never about me, man.
[2:05] Speaker 1: I'm doing it with you guys, man. All right, they
[2:07] Speaker 1: didn't white balance the camera. Let's go to Carolina where
[2:11] Speaker 1: no defense was played. None. Highest scoring opening week game ever.
[2:18] Speaker 1: Caleb Williams had four total touchdowns. This is a sick throw. Like,
[2:22] Speaker 1: that's double covered. Like, you're not supposed to throw the
[2:25] Speaker 1: ball to Cole Komet there. Forget about catching it for
[2:28] Speaker 1: a touchdown. You're not supposed to throw that ball. 22-yard touchdown.
[2:32] Speaker 1: Back and forth we go. This is late second quarter,
[2:34] Speaker 1: right before the break. We're tied at 24. Caleb, don't
[2:37] Speaker 1: like that. Don't like that. I'll run. I'll run for
[2:40] Speaker 1: a 29-yard touchdown, and you're not going to get me. Eventually,
[2:44] Speaker 1: the Bears would pull away in this game. They could
[2:47] Speaker 1: have dropped 60. It could have been a 60-burger. It's
[2:51] Speaker 1: 52-37 when DeAndre Swift breaks free for one of his
[2:55] Speaker 1: three touchdowns. He and Kyle Medungai each had 100 yards
[2:59] Speaker 1: on the ground. What in the name of Mackenbiner or
[3:02] Speaker 1: Brooks and Icky Woods is that? I mean, this is
[3:05] Speaker 1: just a boat race.
[3:07] Speaker 2: Listen, that'll always be the goal is we want to
[3:10] Speaker 2: be the highest scoring. We want to have the most wins.
[3:12] Speaker 2: We want to win Super Bowls. We want to like
[3:14] Speaker 2: that's what that's what we do. We didn't get into
[3:16] Speaker 2: this profession trying to be trying to be mediocre average.
[3:20] Speaker 2: And that's every NFL team. So that is what it is.
[3:24] Speaker 2: You know, we make decisions over the course of a week.
[3:27] Speaker 2: What's best for our football team to win the game?
[3:29] Speaker 2: That's the most important thing. And that's that goes into
[3:31] Speaker 2: everything that we do.
[3:32] Speaker 1: For the record, the record for most points in a
[3:35] Speaker 1: game for an entire season is like 39. So that's
[3:38] Speaker 1: the bar here. Let's go to Detroit. Final minute. This
[3:42] Speaker 1: game's back and forth and crazy. And Jared Goff threw
[3:44] Speaker 1: a pass backwards that people still can't figure out. Doesn't matter.
[3:47] Speaker 1: Tyler Shuck to Jawan Johnson. A minute left. That's a
[3:50] Speaker 1: 75-yard drive. And we go to overtime. In the overtime.
[3:53] Speaker 1: Goff to Amon Ross. St. Brown and the Lions have
[3:56] Speaker 1: a lead. But wait, there's time. And Tyler Shuck has
[3:58] Speaker 1: a chance to match it. And that he would do.
[4:01] Speaker 1: He threw for 400 yards. Granted, he had three turnovers.
[4:04] Speaker 1: But 400 yards, including this touchdown here to Noah Fant.
[4:07] Speaker 1: And the extra point will tie the game. But why
[4:09] Speaker 1: do you play for a tie? Why is there any
[4:11] Speaker 1: debate about this? Also, by the way, you go for two.
[4:16] Speaker 1: Of course, you go for two. It didn't work. That
[4:20] Speaker 1: is Bryce Lance in the locker room. Or rather, in
[4:24] Speaker 1: the corner. Bryce Lance can't bring down the two. Lions
[4:27] Speaker 1: win 31-30.
[4:29] Speaker 3: When we needed somebody to pull us back out of
[4:32] Speaker 3: the water, our heads underwater, we did that in all
[4:34] Speaker 3: three phases and your teammates, one by one.
[4:37] Speaker 1: That was the difference, man. Bring it in, bring it in,
[4:39] Speaker 1: bring it in! I don't give a f * * *
[4:41] Speaker 1: if it's one point, if it's f * * *
[4:42] Speaker 1: ing 30 points. It's a f * * * ing dub.
[4:43] Speaker 4: Use this s * * * for momentum, boys.
[4:45] Speaker 1: I promise you we're going to get on a roll.
[4:47] Speaker 1: Look back at week one at.
[4:48] Speaker 4: That f * * * ing two-point.
[4:49] Speaker 1: Stop that got us there.
[4:50] Speaker 3: 1-0-3, 1-2-3!
[4:52] Speaker 1: Let me see Jared Goff. They're a winner today. So
[4:55] Speaker 1: are the Vikings on Sunday, although this game was crazy.
[4:57] Speaker 1: Minnesota beat Green Bay. The story early was Kyler Murray
[5:00] Speaker 1: obviously making his first start. He got picked on his
[5:02] Speaker 1: first pass by Keyshawn Nixon. And then still in the
[5:05] Speaker 1: first quarter, scramble, and that was it. Took a hit
[5:09] Speaker 1: by Javon Bullard. It would get flagged. Kevin O'Connell said
[5:13] Speaker 1: today he didn't think it was dirty. It was a
[5:14] Speaker 1: violent hit, he said, but not upset about the hit.
[5:17] Speaker 1: But Kyler is in the concussion protocol. More on that
[5:20] Speaker 1: coming up. Aaron Jones had a TD here and see
[5:24] Speaker 1: the score. This is the fourth quarter. The Packers have
[5:26] Speaker 1: a lead. They're going to beat the Vikings on the
[5:28] Speaker 1: road in Minnesota, open up week one. And then it
[5:32] Speaker 1: just went like bonkers. The Packers could do nothing. Carson
[5:36] Speaker 1: Wentz kept scoring touchdowns. Justin Jefferson here. 29 unanswered points
[5:42] Speaker 1: by the Vikings.
[5:45] Speaker 4: 29.
[5:47] Speaker 1: Packers blew it. Vikings stole it. And then here, Kevin
[5:51] Speaker 1: O'Connell says Kyler Murray came out feeling pretty good today.
[5:54] Speaker 1: That's a Monday reaction, but he is still very much
[5:57] Speaker 1: in the concussion protocol. So if he doesn't go, then
[6:01] Speaker 1: it will be Carson Wentz, who played well in his place.
[6:05] Speaker 1: Vikings at the Bears coming up week two. That is
[6:09] Speaker 1: a 1 o'clock game, Soldier Field. Meantime, John Harbaugh says
[6:14] Speaker 1: Ladd McConkie is day-to-day with a rib injury. It happened
[6:18] Speaker 1: in the third quarter. And the Chargers offensively had nothing
[6:23] Speaker 1: going most of the day. Chargers lose to the Cardinals,
[6:26] Speaker 1: but that is certainly an injury to keep an eye
[6:28] Speaker 1: on here in Los Angeles where we stand. Also an
[6:31] Speaker 1: injury to keep an eye on in Los Angeles, one
[6:33] Speaker 1: for Myles Garrett. No timetable when he's going to get
[6:36] Speaker 1: back on the field. Rams put the DPOY on IR
[6:40] Speaker 1: on Sunday. He's got to miss at least four games.
[6:43] Speaker 1: Sean McVay was asked on Monday, do you regret having
[6:47] Speaker 1: Garrett play last week in Australia?
[6:50] Speaker 5: We thought it was something that we'd be able to
[6:51] Speaker 5: kind of manage it. That wasn't necessarily the case. And
[6:54] Speaker 5: so having that evidence and then being able.
[6:56] Speaker 1: To say, what's the next right thing.
[6:58] Speaker 5: So, uh, it was right after the game, just in
[7:00] Speaker 5: terms of listening to how he felt, how he was
[7:03] Speaker 5: able to impact the game, you know, and even just
[7:05] Speaker 5: like what you guys saw with how limited that we
[7:08] Speaker 5: had to be with him, uh, Obviously, we thought we
[7:10] Speaker 5: were doing the right thing, but in hindsight, you always
[7:13] Speaker 5: be able to learn from it. I'll never hang on
[7:15] Speaker 5: to whether you want to say it was a mistake
[7:17] Speaker 5: or just different things to be able to change course
[7:19] Speaker 5: if that's the right line of trajectory. It was right
[7:22] Speaker 5: after the game that we knew that was the direction
[7:25] Speaker 5: that we thought. Obviously, you're talking to him and seeing
[7:27] Speaker 5: how he and his group feels, and that's what we
[7:31] Speaker 5: made the decision on.
[7:32] Speaker 1: Sean McVay on Monday. This is Travis Kelsey who made
[7:35] Speaker 1: a decision to come back for one more year. He
[7:38] Speaker 1: is in the building in Kansas City. That building is
[7:41] Speaker 1: once again called Arrowhead. It is the AFC West in
[7:45] Speaker 1: the spotlight with the Broncos, the division winner a year ago,
[7:49] Speaker 1: coming to town. Coming to your screen a little bit
[7:52] Speaker 1: later today, this guy Bucky Brooks with Mike Yam and
[7:55] Speaker 1: Trevor Sikama. It's NFL Game Day Preview. Hello, Bucky. And hello,
[7:59] Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes coming back. Nine months to the day since
[8:05] Speaker 1: his ACL injury. How does Andy Reid call plays for
[8:08] Speaker 1: him tonight? Do we see the old Mahomes?
[8:10] Speaker 6: No, I don't think we see the old Mahomes. I
[8:11] Speaker 6: think Andy Reid has to protect Patrick Mahomes from himself.
[8:15] Speaker 6: Patrick Mahomes, in his natural playing style, is an improvisational wizard.
[8:19] Speaker 6: He is at his best when he's able to leave
[8:20] Speaker 6: the pocket and make the magic happen. Well, coming off
[8:23] Speaker 6: that ACL injury, you probably want to be a little
[8:26] Speaker 6: more conservative in your play calling and encourage him.
[8:28] Speaker 1: Hey, stick with the script.
[8:30] Speaker 4: Let's ease into this season.
[8:31] Speaker 6: So look for more of a traditional game plan, more run,
[8:35] Speaker 6: maybe more under center work. Maybe you use the threat
[8:38] Speaker 6: of the bootleg and stuff to come out of there,
[8:40] Speaker 6: but to keep him in the pocket. And remember, they
[8:43] Speaker 6: are playing with a young guy at left tackle, Khalil Benson,
[8:46] Speaker 6: undrafted free agent from Indiana. You certainly don't want to
[8:49] Speaker 6: expose Pat Mahomes to a bunch of unnecessary hits. Look
[8:52] Speaker 6: for a more conservative, quick rhythm game plan, but they're
[8:55] Speaker 6: going to lean on number 15 to make some plays,
[8:57] Speaker 6: but it just won't be in his traditional style.
[8:59] Speaker 1: That rookie left tackle Khalil Benson, great story, won a
[9:01] Speaker 1: championship at Indiana playing right tackle. He's never been a
[9:04] Speaker 1: left tackle, undrafted rookie free agent. All right, then there's
[9:07] Speaker 1: Bo Nix. For my money, if he's still in the
[9:11] Speaker 1: AFC championship game, it's the Broncos in the Super Bowl,
[9:13] Speaker 1: but we can debate that for years to come. Didn't happen.
[9:16] Speaker 1: He's coming back from a broken ankle, and Davis Webb
[9:19] Speaker 1: is calling plays tonight. Bucky, that's different. Not Sean Payton. Yeah, really,
[9:23] Speaker 1: really different.
[9:24] Speaker 6: Sean Payton is one of the best play calls that
[9:26] Speaker 6: we've seen in the National Football League. So he's handing
[9:28] Speaker 6: over the call sheet to Davis Webb. Davis Webb has
[9:31] Speaker 6: a nice connection with Bo Nix. Talk about being his
[9:34] Speaker 6: quarterback coach, knowing him very, very well. Remember, last year,
[9:37] Speaker 6: Bo Nix had seven fourth quarter comebacks. Davis Webb understands
[9:41] Speaker 6: that Bo Nix plays really, really well when he's operating
[9:44] Speaker 6: in fast tempo. Look for the Broncos to jump in tempo.
[9:48] Speaker 6: Play a little faster at times to allow Bo Nix
[9:50] Speaker 6: to get into that rhythm because when he gets into
[9:52] Speaker 6: that rhythm, he is very effective. I think we'll see
[9:55] Speaker 6: a mix of run, pass from Bo Knicks, but we
[9:59] Speaker 6: know when the game is on the line, they can
[10:01] Speaker 6: put the ball in his hands and let him go
[10:02] Speaker 6: to work.
[10:03] Speaker 1: Yeah, it is wild that Davis Webb, who was just
[10:06] Speaker 1: like at the Senior Bowl as a quarterback like five
[10:08] Speaker 1: minutes ago, the guy's 31 years old, is calling plays
[10:11] Speaker 1: tonight for Bo Knicks. Bucky Brooks, Mike Yam, Trevor Sikama
[10:14] Speaker 1: coming up right here. Don't go anywhere. After we wrap up,
[10:17] Speaker 1: NFL game day preview to get you ready. Thank you, Bucky,
[10:20] Speaker 1: for a Monday Night Football. Coming up next, however, on
[10:22] Speaker 1: this show, the NFL Report. Did the Packers give the
[10:26] Speaker 1: game away or did the Vikings take it? Scott Hansen
[10:31] Speaker 1: is here. Yes, really, right here, next. Williams 4 for
[10:39] Speaker 1: 4 on the drive. Pumps. Pressured. Gets away from the traffic.
[10:45] Speaker 1: Wide open space. There goes Caleb Williams to the end zone.
[10:49] Speaker 1: His second rushing touchdown of the day and Chicago takes
[10:52] Speaker 1: the lead. Ties the longest run of his NFL career
[10:56] Speaker 1: and he finds pay dirt to put Chicago in front.
[11:00] Speaker 1: That game was fun. This is going to be fun too, friends.
[11:02] Speaker 1: Look what we're doing here. That game had 96 points.
[11:05] Speaker 1: There were a lot of points scored yesterday. This is
[11:07] Speaker 1: Scott Hansen.
[11:09] Speaker 4: Good to see you.
[11:09] Speaker 1: You probably saw that play. Good to see you, by
[11:11] Speaker 1: the way.
[11:12] Speaker 4: Happy New Year, sir.
[11:13] Speaker 1: Right back at you. Happy Football New Year. You probably
[11:16] Speaker 1: saw that on NFL Red Zone yesterday. Scott is here
[11:19] Speaker 1: for his three takeaways from Red Zone. By the way,
[11:23] Speaker 1: should we do the Spider-Man meme first? Oh, okay. This
[11:27] Speaker 1: is like Twin Powers Activate.
[11:29] Speaker 4: The original.
[11:30] Speaker 1: The original.
[11:31] Speaker 4: Got to give him his respect right there. Great to
[11:32] Speaker 4: be with you on this show.
[11:33] Speaker 1: Great to have you here, sir. Great to talk.
[11:35] Speaker 4: And great to start this season.
[11:36] Speaker 2: I know.
[11:36] Speaker 4: We like the offense. We like the touchdowns.
[11:39] Speaker 1: 96 points in that game.
[11:40] Speaker 4: That game alone, we had 10 teams that scored 30
[11:43] Speaker 4: or more points. We are going into Monday Night Football
[11:47] Speaker 4: 42 points away from the all-time greatest, highest scoring week one.
[11:53] Speaker 4: in the 107 years of the NFL. We've all watched
[11:59] Speaker 4: the primetime games on Wednesday and Thursday. We didn't think
[12:01] Speaker 4: we'd be here. That Seattle-New England game was kind of
[12:04] Speaker 4: slow going. It was punt zone for a while, right?
[12:07] Speaker 4: Then San Francisco, Los Angeles, Niners did their thing on offense,
[12:11] Speaker 4: but the Rams were sluggish on offense. We didn't expect
[12:14] Speaker 4: to see that. Then all of a sudden Sunday hit,
[12:16] Speaker 4: and it was off to the races. Not only touchdowns
[12:19] Speaker 4: being scored, listen to the names. We both play fantasy.
[12:23] Speaker 1: My fantasy team 0-2, by the way.
[12:25] Speaker 4: It's, oh, and two already? Well, I mean, I'm.
[12:28] Speaker 1: Assuming it's not, unless Bo Nix and Jalen Waddle and
[12:32] Speaker 1: the Broncos defense all go off tonight. Okay, go ahead.
[12:35] Speaker 4: But Derrick Henry, three touchdowns. Jameer Gibbs, two touchdowns. Amon
[12:40] Speaker 4: Ross St. Brown, Josh Allen, Caleb Williams, Jonathan Taylor, Justin Jefferson,
[12:46] Speaker 4: Ashton Gentry scoring.
[12:48] Speaker 1: As well, multiple touchdowns.
[12:50] Speaker 4: The big names in fantasy coming through like this. The NFL,
[12:54] Speaker 4: I'm going to say, couldn't have scripted it any better
[12:56] Speaker 4: to start a season. 50 points per game we are
[13:00] Speaker 4: averaging in these week one games so far.
[13:02] Speaker 1: Fun, fun stuff. 702 points total with one game to
[13:06] Speaker 1: go when we record this. The flip side of that
[13:08] Speaker 1: is there were teams that played defense, like the Bengals
[13:10] Speaker 1: spent money on defense, and it actually worked. So far,
[13:13] Speaker 1: so good.
[13:14] Speaker 4: They out-hit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bengals were one
[13:17] Speaker 4: of the bottom five defenses statistically across the board in 2025.
[13:21] Speaker 4: Used a lot of draft capital and resources, free agency,
[13:25] Speaker 4: the trade with Sexy Dexy and whatnot. The new guys
[13:28] Speaker 4: paying dividends here. Four forced fumbles against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers,
[13:32] Speaker 4: including a scoop and score. Bengals hadn't had a scoop
[13:36] Speaker 4: and score. In four years, got one yesterday in week one.
[13:40] Speaker 1: Four sacks.
[13:41] Speaker 4: Some of the new names, Brian Cook, Boye Mafe paying dividends.
[13:45] Speaker 4: Dexter Lawrence ate up a bunch of double teams as well.
[13:48] Speaker 4: The Buccaneers ended up scoring 27 points, but this was
[13:51] Speaker 4: a 21-3 game. Kind of approaching halftime right here. If
[13:56] Speaker 4: the Bengals fix their defense, if one game, but if
[14:01] Speaker 4: they fix their defense and we know what they've got
[14:03] Speaker 4: on offense, look out for a surprise team in the AFC.
[14:06] Speaker 1: How about look out for the Vikings in the fourth quarter?
[14:09] Speaker 7: Oh, my goodness.
[14:09] Speaker 4: That was one of those games.
[14:10] Speaker 1: Lions Saints being one of the other ones as well
[14:12] Speaker 1: where you got that thing's over. And then all of
[14:14] Speaker 1: a sudden, 29 unanswered by the Vikings.
[14:17] Speaker 4: Do we credit Carson Wentz for coming in and relief pitching?
[14:20] Speaker 4: Or do we credit a flame-throwing, fastball-throwing defensive coordinator?
[14:26] Speaker 1: I go Brian Flores if you're right. I go Brian Flores.
[14:29] Speaker 4: I saw, okay, we're looking at the offense right now here,
[14:32] Speaker 4: and Justin Jefferson, welcome back, Justin Jefferson. You were in
[14:36] Speaker 4: the waste, wandering in the desert for five months of
[14:40] Speaker 4: the season last year. JJ's back. He still has a cape,
[14:44] Speaker 4: as evidenced by that outstretched arm. But the defense, Brian
[14:48] Speaker 4: Flores blitzed, depending on how you calculate blitz rate, somewhere
[14:52] Speaker 4: in the high 70%.
[14:52] Speaker 1: Like 79%. Low 80% of blitz rate.
[14:57] Speaker 4: The average in the NFL is like 40% or less.
[15:01] Speaker 4: He's at 80, basically, in this week one. Mad scientist,
[15:06] Speaker 4: and it paid off. They shook up the Packers in
[15:08] Speaker 4: the second half and fourth quarter in particular.
[15:10] Speaker 1: He kind of put Matt LaFleur in a blender there.
[15:12] Speaker 1: And as you say about Justin Jefferson getting into the
[15:14] Speaker 1: end zone here, Kevin O'Connell said Monday, there's a reason
[15:16] Speaker 1: Justin Jefferson comes out of the tunnel last, because you
[15:19] Speaker 1: expect him to do those things. You give him the
[15:22] Speaker 1: big ovation. He is the big star. But Brian Flores' defense,
[15:25] Speaker 1: a star.
[15:26] Speaker 4: How about this one? If we peek ahead to week two,
[15:30] Speaker 4: we get Brian Flores calling a defense against Ben Johnson
[15:34] Speaker 4: calling the offense for the Chicago Bears. A couple of

[16:09] Speaker 1: But we have more highlights. Let's get to Cincinnati. Baker Mayfield,
[16:13] Speaker 1: 3-0 against Joe Burrow. Did you know that going back
[16:16] Speaker 1: to the Browns days? Granted, he doesn't have Denzel Ward.
[16:18] Speaker 1: He doesn't have Miles Garrett. And he didn't have his
[16:22] Speaker 1: eyes on the football. He turned the ball over a lot.
[16:25] Speaker 1: Forced four turnovers. Baker had three fumbles. This is Demetrius Knight.
[16:30] Speaker 1: The fumble returns. Scott just mentioned the scoop of the score.
[16:33] Speaker 1: Miles Murphy and Barrett Carter had the sack. But Baker
[16:36] Speaker 1: can still use his legs, and he can hold on
[16:39] Speaker 1: inside the five. This time he held on inside the five.
[16:42] Speaker 1: The rushing touchdown to get him to within one score
[16:45] Speaker 1: with three minutes to go. All Joe Burrow had to do, though,
[16:48] Speaker 1: was kill the clock. Look at the clock. 2-13. It's
[16:51] Speaker 1: second down. He's got to throw. He's going to hit
[16:55] Speaker 1: Tee Higgins for 18 yards. That is absurd. They each
[16:58] Speaker 1: had a timeout. The two-minute warning as well. That is
[17:00] Speaker 1: arm arrogance. That is aggressive play calling. And that is
[17:03] Speaker 1: a Bengal victory, 33-27 over the 0-1 now. Baker in
[17:09] Speaker 1: the box. Meantime, in Indianapolis in the AFC North, new
[17:14] Speaker 1: head coach, Jesse Minner, new play caller, Declan Doyle for
[17:18] Speaker 1: Lamar Jackson, who looks the same. I mean, it's absurd.
[17:23] Speaker 1: Zay Flowers, 54-yard touchdown. He had five for $ 1. 50, and
[17:26] Speaker 1: he sat out the second half with a hamstring injury.
[17:29] Speaker 1: They say the hammy is okay. Sure, okay. Five for
[17:32] Speaker 1: $ 1. 50 and a touchdown. There's also still Derrick Henry to
[17:36] Speaker 1: play with. 144 yards and three touchdowns for Derrick Henry.
[17:43] Speaker 1: Some difficult conversations in Indianapolis after this game got ugly. Quickly,
[17:48] Speaker 1: 41-23 the final score, and now Derrick Henry is climbing
[17:52] Speaker 1: up the all-time rushing touchdown list. He is at 123,
[17:58] Speaker 1: which is 22 behind LaDainian Tomlinson. I don't know how
[18:02] Speaker 1: many yards this guy had today, a bunch, but he
[18:05] Speaker 1: moved into third all-time in rushing touchdown. Derrick Henry.
[18:15] Speaker 4: And look, enjoy this one. This is the first one, man.
[18:17] Speaker 6: I told y'all, every time we step on that field,
[18:19] Speaker 6: we got to go out there and dominate.
[18:20] Speaker 4: Anybody we play, we got to get dealt with. Indy
[18:23] Speaker 4: was first, bro.
[18:24] Speaker 1: One more, coach.
[18:25] Speaker 5: This guy's got the greatest winning percentage in the history
[18:28] Speaker 5: of the national football.
[18:30] Speaker 1: First Kauil win, Jesse Mintz.
[18:32] Speaker 3: All right, let's get a break.
[18:36] Speaker 5: All right, Ravens on three.
[18:38] Speaker 1: Ravens on three.
[18:39] Speaker 4: One, two, three.
[18:42] Speaker 1: Ravens offense looked great. Neither the Falcons nor the Steelers
[18:45] Speaker 1: can say the same because they both offensively look offensive.
[18:50] Speaker 1: If you're going for EPA expected points added, what Nick
[18:54] Speaker 1: Shook would call a nerd number, these were the two
[18:56] Speaker 1: worst offenses in the entire National Football League in week one.
[19:00] Speaker 1: But Aaron Rodgers can hit Pat Friermuth here. The Falcons
[19:03] Speaker 1: had a lead. Cooper Rush to Bijan Robinson. Two is back.
[19:06] Speaker 1: Not good. Cooper Rush is back. Not good. But Cooper
[19:10] Speaker 1: Rush had to play, and this pass, not good. TJ Watt,
[19:14] Speaker 1: pick six. He's breaking tackles. He's a former high school
[19:17] Speaker 1: tight end. He's into the end zone, and the Steelers
[19:20] Speaker 1: can celebrate a victory. They won. Mike McCarthy won. Everybody
[19:24] Speaker 1: is happy. However, offensively, eeks for this one. Offensively, also
[19:30] Speaker 1: bad for Deshaun Watson and the Browns, although he's still
[19:33] Speaker 1: the starting quarterback. More on that coming up shortly. Browns
[19:36] Speaker 1: opening drive started well. Nice kick return. A couple of
[19:38] Speaker 1: completions there in Jags territory. And then Deshaun gets picked
[19:42] Speaker 1: off by Foye Aluokun, the leading tackler for your Jacksonville
[19:47] Speaker 1: Jaguars returning tackler. And then he hands the ball... to
[19:50] Speaker 1: Trevor Lawrence and you look at the score already is
[19:51] Speaker 1: 24 to nothing here Trevor Lawrence had himself a day
[19:54] Speaker 1: how about four touchdown passes how about that Jacoby Myers
[19:59] Speaker 1: back at the end zone Browns played zone all day
[20:01] Speaker 1: didn't make sense Jaguars run him out of the building
[20:04] Speaker 1: 34 to 10 the final score and he is still
[20:07] Speaker 1: the starting quarterback.
[20:09] Speaker 3: I did think that when he had time, when he
[20:12] Speaker 3: understood the concepts, he didn't play tentative, that he let
[20:15] Speaker 3: it rip. And, you know, even the touchdown at the end, sure,
[20:18] Speaker 3: that was garbage time, but that was on their one corner.
[20:20] Speaker 3: I mean, that was one of their starters out there,
[20:23] Speaker 3: and that was a communication between him and the receiver.
[20:26] Speaker 3: So there was a lot of things to build on.
[20:28] Speaker 3: Was it perfect? Of course not. Otherwise, we wouldn't have
[20:30] Speaker 3: scored as few points as we did. But I'd like
[20:33] Speaker 3: to see how we can build on that. I liked
[20:36] Speaker 3: his week of practice last week. And I think he's
[20:39] Speaker 3: only going to continue to get better.
[20:40] Speaker 1: Browns in Tampa next Sunday to play Baker and the Bucs.
[20:44] Speaker 1: We are in New York coming up next on the
[20:45] Speaker 1: NFL Report to show you how John Harbaugh engineered a
[20:50] Speaker 1: week one Giants win over the alleged improved Cowboys defense. Next.
[20:57] Speaker 1: You're watching the NFL Report, everybody. Of all the stunners,
[21:00] Speaker 1: this was probably the most stunning. Jim Harbaugh on the Chargers.
[21:05] Speaker 1: Mike McDaniel, new OC. They're going to waltz all over
[21:09] Speaker 1: the Cardinals, who won three games a year ago. Yeah,
[21:12] Speaker 1: that didn't happen. Here's Jacoby Brissett, Jake Brisket, and Trey McBride.
[21:16] Speaker 1: And look at the score. Look at the clock. The
[21:18] Speaker 1: Chargers are down double digits at home. Actually, it's nine points,
[21:23] Speaker 1: not double digits. But whatever. You get my point. It
[21:26] Speaker 1: was stunning. Just stunning. Justin Herbert's getting picked off. The
[21:33] Speaker 1: Chargers are losing. Tip of the cap to Mike LaFleur.
[21:36] Speaker 1: You beat Jim Harbaugh.
[21:38] Speaker 7: We made some preseason type of mistakes. Now, in retrospect,
[21:50] Speaker 7: we should play our guys a little bit more in
[21:52] Speaker 7: the preseason and give them those reps, those game-like reps. So, yeah.
[22:02] Speaker 1: John fared better than Jim Harbaugh. John Harbaugh made his
[22:08] Speaker 1: Giants debut year two for Jackson Dart. 9-11 commemoration before
[22:13] Speaker 1: the game. All the emotions here in New York. And
[22:16] Speaker 1: Cam Scataboo's return as well. He would do the flip
[22:20] Speaker 1: as he gets into the end zone of the Giants.
[22:21] Speaker 1: Have an early lead over the Cowboys. Sunday night football, 7-0.
[22:24] Speaker 1: Dak Prescott, however, would not go away easily. Here he
[22:28] Speaker 1: hits CeeDee Lamb. Here we have a tie game. This
[22:30] Speaker 1: is your classic Sunday night NFC East week one game.
[22:35] Speaker 1: But the Giants new defense, rather the Cowboys new defense,
[22:39] Speaker 1: forgot to play defense. Devin Singletary there from Jackson Dart.
[22:46] Speaker 1: And then Isaiah likely got in the end zone. And
[22:48] Speaker 1: then John Harbaugh gets himself a win and a resounding one.
[22:51] Speaker 1: 28 to 20 earlier in the day in the late
[22:54] Speaker 1: window in the NFC East. Eagles up 24 to 16.
[22:58] Speaker 1: Jaden Daniels would rally him back, throws the touchdown and
[23:01] Speaker 1: sets up the two-point conversion here. That's the rookie Antonio Williams.
[23:05] Speaker 1: What do you do for the two-point conversion? You throw
[23:07] Speaker 1: the Andy Reid shovel pass to Bates, the tight end
[23:11] Speaker 1: to John Bates. That didn't work. Moro Ojomo sniffs it
[23:16] Speaker 1: out and the Eagles escape with a victory. 24-22 over
[23:20] Speaker 1: the tough fighting commanders. In that game, Landon Dickerson didn't
[23:23] Speaker 1: look the same. Dickerson said he got rolled up on
[23:25] Speaker 1: practice a couple of weeks ago. Shouldn't have been playing
[23:27] Speaker 1: to the Eagles moments ago. Put him on IR. He's
[23:30] Speaker 1: going to be out at least four games. Clint Kubiak
[23:32] Speaker 1: says there is a chance maybe Brock Bowers is back.
[23:35] Speaker 1: He didn't say that. He said actually day-to-day. But my
[23:38] Speaker 1: favorite clip of the week, hands down, is this. Cam
[23:40] Speaker 1: Scadaboo in the locker room after the game, after the Giants' victory.
[23:44] Speaker 1: Jameis Winston putting on cologne for what seemed like an
[23:47] Speaker 1: hour and a half. This is not on a loop.
[23:50] Speaker 1: This is just Jameis putting on cologne. Nine sprays of cologne.
[23:55] Speaker 1: And tip of the cap to Tyler Owens with the
[23:57] Speaker 1: most maniacal special teams rep that we saw the entire week.
[24:01] Speaker 1: Tyler Owens fought through five guys and then had a
[24:04] Speaker 1: body slam on the returner at the end. That's a show.
[24:10] Speaker 1: I'm out of breath because we spoke really fast to
[24:12] Speaker 1: get everything in. Thanks to Scott Hanson. Thanks to Bucky Brooks.
[24:14] Speaker 1: My name is Andrew Cisnoliano. NFL Game Gear preview is next.
[24:18] Speaker 4: See you.
