[0:01] Speaker 1: Is it week two already?
[0:03] Speaker 2: It is.
[0:04] Speaker 1: Coming up on the NFL Report, any and everything you
[0:07] Speaker 1: need to know about Josh Allen and Jared Goff in
[0:10] Speaker 1: what could be a shootout at the brand new Highmark Stadium.
[0:14] Speaker 1: Are the stats lying about the Steelers' offense? Or was
[0:17] Speaker 1: it really that bad week one? Lance Zierlein is here
[0:21] Speaker 1: for that. That's coming up. Plus, born in the desert,
[0:25] Speaker 1: Kendrick Bourne joins us after the Cardinals' shocking week one win.
[0:29] Speaker 1: It is the NFL Report's And it's coming up next. Yes,
[0:38] Speaker 1: it is week two. That was not a rhetorical question.
[0:41] Speaker 1: And welcome to a Thursday edition of the NFL Report
[0:43] Speaker 1: on the NFL Channel. My name is Andrew Siciliano. We
[0:46] Speaker 1: are presented to you by Nationwide, a late scratch and
[0:49] Speaker 1: a big one on that Bills defense, the inactives and
[0:52] Speaker 1: the actives for that matter. Coming up shortly, Lance Zerline
[0:55] Speaker 1: is here. Let's get the headlines out of the way.
[0:57] Speaker 1: What is news to me? That's how we start this
[1:00] Speaker 1: show today. We started actually Cincinnati with an update on
[1:03] Speaker 1: Joe Burrow for the second consecutive day in Cincinnati Burrow
[1:07] Speaker 1: was on the practice field but for the second consecutive
[1:11] Speaker 1: day Burrow was limited that's the official designation with a
[1:15] Speaker 1: back injury Burrow says he is going to play Sunday
[1:20] Speaker 1: and for that matter Jamar Chase is going to play
[1:23] Speaker 1: too he's definitely playing.
[1:25] Speaker 2: Fundamentally sound at the end of the day you know
[1:27] Speaker 2: I'm saying they play very good Fundamental defense. Keep everything
[1:31] Speaker 2: in front of them. They got good corners. Cut up front.
[1:35] Speaker 2: The linebackers are good. They're just a well-rounded team at
[1:38] Speaker 2: the end of the day.
[1:39] Speaker 1: Should I go against Stingley?
[1:40] Speaker 3: All the time.
[1:42] Speaker 4: The practice tapes of you and Stingley from LSU are
[1:44] Speaker 4: fairly famous.
[1:45] Speaker 2: It looks like I'm getting killed on every video.
[1:47] Speaker 5: I don't like that. What do you remember about those?
[1:50] Speaker 5: Do you remember?
[1:52] Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure that was Stingley's footage of him putting
[1:54] Speaker 2: it out against me. I remember when I was going
[1:57] Speaker 2: to the lead, I'll never get him telling me this.
[1:59] Speaker 2: He was like, He was like, man, I don't like
[2:02] Speaker 2: the fact that you posted all those clips of you
[2:03] Speaker 2: killing me on Snapchat, bro. And I was like, yeah,
[2:06] Speaker 2: when I got to the league, I had to post
[2:07] Speaker 2: my own. I was like, it's fine, bro. I'm not.
[2:09] Speaker 1: Jamar had only two catches last week. They won, though.
[2:12] Speaker 1: They beat the Buccaneers. They're going up in weight class
[2:15] Speaker 1: in terms of the defense they're facing this week. They're
[2:19] Speaker 1: facing the Texans. But Lance Zerline, who, oh, by the way,
[2:22] Speaker 1: is in Houston. Lance, good to see you, sir. As
[2:24] Speaker 1: you saw there, the Texans' defense wasn't necessarily what we
[2:28] Speaker 1: thought it would be week one. Against a very, very
[2:32] Speaker 1: good offense, obviously coming in there in the Bills. If
[2:35] Speaker 1: they don't put pressure on Joe Burrow, does it matter
[2:37] Speaker 1: that he has a bad back?
[2:39] Speaker 4: Well, I mean, it's going to be tough because it's
[2:41] Speaker 4: a fair fight when you look at wide receivers versus cornerbacks.
[2:44] Speaker 4: I mean, Stingley and Lassiter are outstanding cornerbacks for the
[2:48] Speaker 4: Houston Texans. But Kamar Lassiter really struggled last week. New safety,
[2:54] Speaker 4: their brand new safety. Reed Blankenship really struggled as well
[2:58] Speaker 4: from a coverage standpoint. And if you give Joe Burrow
[3:01] Speaker 4: time to throw, I promise you he's not going to
[3:04] Speaker 4: have seven you know, seven completions for 83 yards to Yoshivas, Chase,
[3:10] Speaker 4: and Tee Higgins. That's not happening for a second game
[3:13] Speaker 4: in a row if you don't pressure them. The Texans
[3:15] Speaker 4: have got to get pressure off the edge from Hunter
[3:18] Speaker 4: and obviously also Will Anderson Jr. And, you know, something
[3:22] Speaker 4: we have to keep an eye on here, Dawson, or
[3:24] Speaker 4: rather Dalton Kincaid, went five catches for 130 yards last
[3:27] Speaker 4: week against the Texans. Mike Gesicki was the leading receiver,
[3:33] Speaker 4: the tight end for the Cincinnati Bengals last week. That
[3:36] Speaker 4: might be a position to keep an eye on in
[3:38] Speaker 4: the matchup between this outstanding Texans defense that really didn't
[3:41] Speaker 4: show up last week and the always dangerous Joe Burrell,
[3:44] Speaker 4: that offense.
[3:45] Speaker 1: Yeah, look, last week, or last year rather, was something
[3:48] Speaker 1: with the offense and Nick Haley. But if they lose here,
[3:50] Speaker 1: if the Texans lose here to the Bengals, they are
[3:52] Speaker 1: 0-2 under D'Amico Ryans for the third time. In four years.
[3:57] Speaker 1: Lance coming right back. We'll do Thursday night football. Don't
[4:00] Speaker 1: go anywhere. Let's get back to some more headlines, though,
[4:02] Speaker 1: from around the NFL. We'll go to Pittsburgh. What's going
[4:05] Speaker 1: on with Joey Porter Jr.? That's the question. Yesterday, he
[4:09] Speaker 1: was limited with what the Steelers say was conditioning. They're
[4:13] Speaker 1: trying to ramp him back up after the hold in. Today,
[4:16] Speaker 1: after Porter left practice early with trainers, the team now
[4:21] Speaker 1: says that he is limited with conditioning and a back.
[4:26] Speaker 1: So now the back is back. Offensively, look, the Steelers won.
[4:31] Speaker 1: They beat the Falcons, but they were not good week
[4:33] Speaker 1: one in terms of EPA expected points added, rather a
[4:36] Speaker 1: nerd number. Speak, Andrew. They were the third worst offense
[4:40] Speaker 1: in the NFL week one. Granted, DK Metcalf had two
[4:43] Speaker 1: huge drops.
[4:45] Speaker 6: Oh, no, I'm not worried about DK at all, man.
[4:47] Speaker 6: I love DK. He's one of my closest friends on
[4:48] Speaker 6: the team, and I'm going to keep feeding him. Yeah,
[4:53] Speaker 6: the consistency and the balance stuff is all for... you know,
[4:57] Speaker 6: talking head fodder. It's all about winning the game, whether
[5:00] Speaker 6: you got to throw it 40 times or run it
[5:02] Speaker 6: 40 times. So I'm not worried about the balance. Balance
[5:04] Speaker 6: comes naturally. If you're getting a chance to be ahead
[5:06] Speaker 6: of teams, you're going to get more run opportunities. If
[5:09] Speaker 6: you don't have five, three and outs, you get more
[5:11] Speaker 6: run opportunities too. So I'm not worried about that.
[5:13] Speaker 1: Talking head fodder, Lance Zerline. He's kind of right. If
[5:17] Speaker 1: you have DK catch those two passes, take away the drops,
[5:21] Speaker 1: the numbers would look a lot different. But if you're
[5:24] Speaker 1: an EPA guy, Lance, I know you are. Third worst
[5:28] Speaker 1: offense in the NFL. They get the Patriots in Foxborough.
[5:30] Speaker 1: Should we be concerned?
[5:31] Speaker 5: I'd be concerned.
[5:32] Speaker 4: I think when you look at Aaron Rodgers, who I
[5:34] Speaker 4: believe is the greatest thrower of the football I've ever
[5:36] Speaker 4: seen when it comes to just pure, you know, arm
[5:39] Speaker 4: talent and ability as a passer. He went from averaging
[5:42] Speaker 4: 7.71 yards per attempt with the Green Bay Packers. Since then,
[5:46] Speaker 4: he's down to 6.63.
[5:48] Speaker 5: That's a decrease of over a yard per attempt.
[5:51] Speaker 4: And the reason's simple. He just doesn't go down the
[5:54] Speaker 4: field with the same level of success, gets rid of
[5:56] Speaker 4: it much quicker. I don't think he wants to take
[5:58] Speaker 4: a lot of hits in the pocket, which is understandable.
[6:01] Speaker 4: But that takes away some of the best parts of
[6:04] Speaker 4: DK Metcalf's route tree is getting vertical. So I'm not
[6:08] Speaker 4: sure this is just a great fit between what Aaron
[6:10] Speaker 4: Rodgers is now and what DK Metcalf is as a
[6:13] Speaker 4: wide receiver. I think Jeremy Bernard, the rookie, may have
[6:17] Speaker 4: to become a little bit more involved, certainly. Clearly, I
[6:21] Speaker 4: think that you can find the control passing game underneath.
[6:26] Speaker 4: But when you look at the, I think, success here, Andrew,
[6:29] Speaker 4: it's going to have to look like Drew Brees and
[6:31] Speaker 4: Like Peyton Manning, these are guys, when they hit the
[6:33] Speaker 4: 40-year mark, even Tom Brady, it's a lot of underneath stuff,
[6:37] Speaker 4: and you just simply don't throw down the field as
[6:39] Speaker 4: much anymore.
[6:40] Speaker 1: Yeah, Rodgers is risk-averse, let's face it, and he has
[6:44] Speaker 1: been for a couple of years. It's a lot of
[6:46] Speaker 1: back shoulders. It's a lot of fades. It's a lot of, hey,
[6:50] Speaker 1: if I don't trust you, I am not throwing you
[6:52] Speaker 1: the football, and this team is going to win with defense.
[6:54] Speaker 1: They have the highest-priced defense in the NFL, and that
[6:57] Speaker 1: was the case. They won with defense. They beat the Falcons,
[6:59] Speaker 1: and Atlanta was horrible. It's a little bit different when
[7:01] Speaker 1: you get a well-rested Patriots team. Lance, TNF coming up,
[7:05] Speaker 1: I promise. In the meantime, let's do Atlanta. I'm telling you,
[7:08] Speaker 1: there is a chance. There is a chance that Michael
[7:10] Speaker 1: Penix is the Falcons' starting quarterback this week. They get
[7:13] Speaker 1: the Saints coming to town. Or, I'm sorry, the Panthers
[7:16] Speaker 1: coming to town. Penix was a full participant Thursday. So
[7:22] Speaker 1: was Cooper Rush. Tua, by the way, didn't practice.
[7:25] Speaker 5: We're working.
[7:26] Speaker 1: We're working.
[7:27] Speaker 5: I'm close.
[7:27] Speaker 7: I'm close.
[7:28] Speaker 3: I know I've been saying that, but it's just a
[7:30] Speaker 3: couple technical things that I want to hit, some goals
[7:33] Speaker 3: that I have, you know, that I want to achieve before,
[7:36] Speaker 3: you know, I do step foot out on that field, but,
[7:39] Speaker 3: you know, I do feel really good, and we're taking
[7:41] Speaker 3: strides each and every day.
[7:43] Speaker 1: Remember, Panic's coming back from another ACL, so he's been
[7:45] Speaker 1: down this road before. Let's get TNF for you now.
[7:48] Speaker 1: Highmark Stadium, they played the preseason there. Now this is
[7:51] Speaker 1: the Big regular season rollout. And these two quarterbacks have
[7:56] Speaker 1: lit up the scoreboard when last they faced each other.
[7:59] Speaker 1: That's Jared Goff. You saw Josh Allen when last they
[8:02] Speaker 1: faced each other. The score, the total was 92 years ago.
[8:07] Speaker 1: Late scratch. No Ed Oliver hip injury. He's out. It
[8:12] Speaker 1: happened during warmups. Ed Oliver is out. TJ Sanders is
[8:16] Speaker 1: out on that D line for the Bills. On the
[8:19] Speaker 1: offensive line, Blake Miller and Christian Mahogany. Lancer line, two
[8:23] Speaker 1: starting offensive linemen are out here for the Lions. The Lions, oh,
[8:29] Speaker 1: by the way, barely hung on and barely won week one.
[8:33] Speaker 1: They beat the Saints. This is a primetime preview presented
[8:36] Speaker 1: by Nationwide. You think the Lions are in trouble tonight?
[8:39] Speaker 4: I think they're in a lot of trouble. When you
[8:41] Speaker 4: look at this, of course, you know, any given, in
[8:44] Speaker 4: this case, any given Thursday, anything can happen.
[8:47] Speaker 5: But let's be honest.
[8:48] Speaker 4: That was a secondary that really struggled against Tyler Shuck,
[8:51] Speaker 4: threw for 410 yards. and three touchdowns. Now they're going
[8:55] Speaker 4: against Josh Allen and maybe as importantly, Joe Brady, who
[8:59] Speaker 4: now has found a 13 personnel grouping, the three tight
[9:02] Speaker 4: end personnel grouping used at 38.5% of the time against
[9:06] Speaker 4: the Texans with a lot of success. Now, I don't
[9:08] Speaker 4: think we'll see it as much in this game because
[9:10] Speaker 4: I think they put it in there for the Texans
[9:12] Speaker 4: to slow down the pass rush a little bit. But
[9:14] Speaker 4: what we do see on the field is that DJ
[9:17] Speaker 4: Moore has made a huge impact and now they can
[9:19] Speaker 4: go to 11 touchdowns. 12 and 13 personnel at any point.
[9:22] Speaker 4: They're going to be very unpredictable. And Josh Allen was
[9:26] Speaker 4: that guy last game. He beat the Texans with great
[9:29] Speaker 4: throw after great throw. And I love the way he
[9:31] Speaker 4: saw the field as well, Andrew. I think the way
[9:34] Speaker 4: he's seeing the field in the first game against the
[9:36] Speaker 4: defense like the Texans, that is bad news.
[9:39] Speaker 1: For the Lions. Lance, want to tap the base on
[9:42] Speaker 1: that at Oliver inactive. That's a late scratch. Again, it
[9:45] Speaker 1: happened during warmups. No TJ Sanders. We knew that one coming.
[9:48] Speaker 1: And Dale Walker, obviously, kind of turning into a star,
[9:51] Speaker 1: had a great week one. But without those guys in
[9:54] Speaker 1: the middle, is this a big Jameer Gibbs night?
[9:57] Speaker 5: Well, it has to be. And I think that's one
[9:59] Speaker 5: of the things you have to do. do is you
[10:00] Speaker 5: have to keep the Buffalo offense off the field.
[10:02] Speaker 4: The best way to do that, run the ball, control
[10:04] Speaker 4: the clock, and I think Jameer Gibbs obviously will be.
[10:08] Speaker 4: He was a big part of it last week. He's
[10:10] Speaker 4: going to be a big part of it all year long,
[10:12] Speaker 4: including tonight.
[10:13] Speaker 1: Lance Zerline, we appreciate you, sir. Lance is coming back
[10:16] Speaker 1: with some overreactions, what to believe, what not to believe.
[10:19] Speaker 1: from week number one. Believe this, Miles Garrett's officially on IR.
[10:23] Speaker 1: He's not going to play Monday for the Rams. Knee
[10:25] Speaker 1: surgery earlier this week. Aaron Donald, though, Sean McVay says,
[10:29] Speaker 1: is on track to play. It's going to be up
[10:31] Speaker 1: to Aaron Donald. As for Garrett, let's get back to him. Well, good.
[10:36] Speaker 1: He's feeling good.
[10:38] Speaker 8: You know, you already see, you know, he had crutches yesterday,
[10:41] Speaker 8: and then he was, you know, walking without crutches today.
[10:43] Speaker 8: So he's like Wolverine, healing fast. You know, I'm reluctant
[10:50] Speaker 8: to put a timeline on it. You know, we've kind
[10:52] Speaker 8: of talked about it. But, you know, we know that
[10:54] Speaker 8: he's going to miss, you know, those four weeks at
[10:56] Speaker 8: a minimum. And we're not going to rush him back.
[10:58] Speaker 8: We want to make sure that he's feeling good. He's
[11:00] Speaker 8: able to get out on the practice field, do all
[11:02] Speaker 8: the things that are necessary for him to perform at
[11:04] Speaker 8: a level that he's been accustomed to. And so that'll
[11:08] Speaker 8: be something that I'll kind of keep you guys posted
[11:09] Speaker 8: as we have updates as we go.
[11:12] Speaker 1: But he's got to miss a minimum of four games.
[11:14] Speaker 1: That guy's not going to miss a game. We're going
[11:16] Speaker 1: to hurry back. That is Kendrick Bourne waiting in the wings,
[11:19] Speaker 1: waiting in Arizona. The Cardinals wide receiver. They're looking to
[11:22] Speaker 1: go to 2-0. Coming up on the NFL Report. You
[11:30] Speaker 1: guys worked for this. You guys earned this win.
[11:35] Speaker 5: You guys put in the work.
[11:36] Speaker 8: And I appreciate you guys so much for believing in
[11:39] Speaker 8: it and believing that the work works. Man, give it
[11:41] Speaker 8: up for yourself right there.
[11:48] Speaker 5: One more big ball.
[11:58] Speaker 1: Coach LaFleur.
[12:01] Speaker 5: Hey, I love you guys.
[12:02] Speaker 1: You know that, man.
[12:03] Speaker 5: Cards on three.
[12:04] Speaker 1: One, two, three.
[12:05] Speaker 3: Cards!
[12:06] Speaker 1: Uh, yeah. Like, yeah. Mike Lafleur is a love fest
[12:09] Speaker 1: after the Cardinals beat the chargers week one. This guy
[12:12] Speaker 1: also a huge part of that eight catches, 75 yards,
[12:16] Speaker 1: five first downs for Kendrick Bourne, who joins us now
[12:20] Speaker 1: on the NFL report. How are you doing Kendrick?
[12:22] Speaker 5: I'm doing well, man. Thanks for having me.
[12:24] Speaker 1: Hey, thanks for being here. How are things week two?
[12:27] Speaker 1: I know you got to move on. I know you
[12:28] Speaker 1: got to move on, but like the glow in Arizona
[12:32] Speaker 1: after that week one.
[12:34] Speaker 5: Yeah, it's amazing, man. Um, Like Mike said, you know,
[12:37] Speaker 5: all the hard work being put in, you know, we
[12:39] Speaker 5: out here in the heat. So we've been going through it, man,
[12:42] Speaker 5: just with that and just building this team. And so
[12:45] Speaker 5: to be able to pull out that win, man, after
[12:46] Speaker 5: all the work we've put in, new coaching staff, all
[12:49] Speaker 5: the talk, you know, and just what the world is saying,
[12:53] Speaker 5: it feels good to get that first dub, man. And
[12:55] Speaker 5: it was a team win.
[12:56] Speaker 1: I mean, you mentioned the heat. It was hot as
[12:59] Speaker 1: you know what there at SoFi. And that was a
[13:02] Speaker 1: physical game, man.
[13:05] Speaker 5: Yeah, it was definitely hot in there. It gets humid.
[13:07] Speaker 5: I don't know if it's because we're like deep in
[13:09] Speaker 5: the ground or like whatever. But so far, definitely get
[13:12] Speaker 5: some humidity, man. And so we seem like we were
[13:15] Speaker 5: ready for it, man, as a group, even on defense, man.
[13:17] Speaker 5: They showed out just an overall team win. You know,
[13:21] Speaker 5: the complimentary football and us being in shape plays a
[13:24] Speaker 5: big part, you know, in the league. You want to
[13:26] Speaker 5: you want to be able to play four quarters with
[13:29] Speaker 5: energy and effort, man. And I think we got good
[13:31] Speaker 5: competitive stamina.
[13:33] Speaker 1: All right, so the good news is you got to win, right?
[13:35] Speaker 1: That's great. Week one, got to win. The bad news
[13:37] Speaker 1: is you're not sneaking up on anyone now. You get
[13:41] Speaker 1: the defending world champions coming to town. You know the
[13:44] Speaker 1: last time you guys beat the Seahawks? Any idea?
[13:46] Speaker 7: No, no.
[13:47] Speaker 5: Come on. Give me that answer.
[13:48] Speaker 1: It is 2021. It was a Russell Wilson-Colt McCoy game.
[13:53] Speaker 1: Colt McCoy was the Cardinals quarterback.
[13:56] Speaker 9: What?
[13:57] Speaker 5: All right, that's a good history lesson for me. You know,
[13:59] Speaker 5: I'm the new Cardinal guy, so... Great history lesson, man.
[14:02] Speaker 5: That gets me ready, so I appreciate that, Andrew.
[14:04] Speaker 1: All right, so you're ready for the Seahawks, and they
[14:07] Speaker 1: no doubt will be ready for you. Here's another one.
[14:09] Speaker 1: All right, you ready for this one?
[14:10] Speaker 7: Yeah.
[14:11] Speaker 1: The last 13 weeks, going back to last year, do
[14:15] Speaker 1: you know who leads the NFL in passing?
[14:19] Speaker 5: I do not.
[14:20] Speaker 1: It's Jacoby Brissett. Tell me about your quarterback and what
[14:27] Speaker 1: he's got going right now.
[14:28] Speaker 5: Yeah, Jacoby, man, he's just been really poised, man. Throughout
[14:33] Speaker 5: the whole process, obviously we know he was in a
[14:35] Speaker 5: contract dispute, and for him to get that done and
[14:38] Speaker 5: come in and played how he's played, it's just amazing,
[14:40] Speaker 5: you know? It sucks. People think he's a little behind,
[14:43] Speaker 5: but Jacoby knows how to play quarterback. He knows how
[14:46] Speaker 5: to run a system, and it shows, man. I have
[14:49] Speaker 5: had a close relationship with Jacoby since our time in
[14:52] Speaker 5: New England, man, and what he went through over there,
[14:54] Speaker 5: not to go in the past, but It's just a
[14:56] Speaker 5: little personal connection we have. I know he's been through adversity,
[14:59] Speaker 5: seeing him through adversity and now in a position to
[15:02] Speaker 5: be a starter. He's just carrying it well. You know,
[15:04] Speaker 5: he's carrying that torch well, you know, working with the
[15:07] Speaker 5: floor well. And it showed week one. And that stat
[15:11] Speaker 5: is even great. You just told me, Andrew, like him
[15:13] Speaker 5: leading the league. It shows that he's capable. We threw
[15:16] Speaker 5: the ball 40 times. So that was amazing. And to
[15:18] Speaker 5: be able to play at that level, just being conditioned
[15:21] Speaker 5: in different things, it says a lot about our quarterback.
[15:24] Speaker 1: Well, Kendrick, let's talk about you, because when Jacoby was
[15:26] Speaker 1: on the podium today, somebody said to him, and I
[15:27] Speaker 1: wrote this down, I want to get it right. They said,
[15:30] Speaker 1: not many people had Kendrick born in fantasy. Again, talking
[15:34] Speaker 1: to him. And I felt like, well, I mean, if
[15:37] Speaker 1: they paid attention, maybe they could have, or maybe they
[15:39] Speaker 1: should have. They probably had Michael Wilson. They probably had Marv.
[15:43] Speaker 1: But you're going to be a huge part of this.
[15:45] Speaker 1: How rewarding, personally, like talk about yourself here, Kendrick, was
[15:48] Speaker 1: it to get those eight for 75?
[15:51] Speaker 5: Yeah, it's great. It's great. It's a lot of hitting yardage, man.
[15:54] Speaker 5: You know, that's been my game. You know, understanding zone,
[15:57] Speaker 5: sitting in the right zones, being able to drop step,
[16:00] Speaker 5: get yak. It makes it tough for a defense. So
[16:02] Speaker 5: if I can catch a five-yard pass and turn it
[16:04] Speaker 5: into 11... It's really tricky. So now you kind of
[16:07] Speaker 5: got to pick your poison. But I'm definitely a fantasy
[16:10] Speaker 5: league sleeper. I don't want to gas myself up. But,
[16:12] Speaker 5: you know, I got a good relationship with Mike. And,
[16:14] Speaker 5: you know, we've been on the same page for a
[16:16] Speaker 5: while in my life, in my career, early in my career. So,
[16:20] Speaker 5: you know, for the fantasy people out there, hey, you
[16:23] Speaker 5: got to make decisions. Some people may go down. So
[16:26] Speaker 5: I might be that sleeper pick. You can sneak in.
[16:28] Speaker 5: But it feels good to help the team, man, and
[16:30] Speaker 5: do the right thing, man. Just be an impact for
[16:32] Speaker 5: the team.
[16:32] Speaker 1: Full disclosure, it's not about me, but I did just
[16:34] Speaker 1: pick you up. Okay, so I'm putting you in the lineup.
[16:38] Speaker 1: All right. Should, if I start you, I don't have
[16:41] Speaker 1: Jeremiah Love. I might be going against Jeremiah Love. I
[16:43] Speaker 1: hate to make this a fantasy thing, but we'll do
[16:44] Speaker 1: it here. Should we start Jeremiah Love this week against
[16:47] Speaker 1: the Seahawks defense?
[16:49] Speaker 5: I believe so.
[16:49] Speaker 1: I believe so.
[16:50] Speaker 5: Tyler Algier, too, got that heat, too. So it's a
[16:53] Speaker 5: one-two punch, but you just never know. We got so
[16:55] Speaker 5: many weapons, man. I think you should take every one
[16:58] Speaker 5: of us on that offense because we've got so many weapons,
[17:01] Speaker 5: like you just said, how I impact the game, how
[17:03] Speaker 5: Jeremiah may, how T.A.
[17:05] Speaker 7: May.
[17:05] Speaker 5: So it's just you've got to pick your poison, but
[17:07] Speaker 5: we're all definitely a group of guys that's going to
[17:10] Speaker 5: benefit your fantasy.
[17:11] Speaker 1: All right, last thing here. You mentioned Mike LaFleur. You
[17:14] Speaker 1: guys go back to San Francisco way back when he
[17:16] Speaker 1: was your wide receiver coach. He's one of my favorite
[17:18] Speaker 1: people in the league, not just because we're the same height.
[17:21] Speaker 1: Somebody in your building told me that you, Kendrick, have–
[17:26] Speaker 1: like a different handshake for almost everybody in the building, yeah?
[17:31] Speaker 2: Correct.
[17:32] Speaker 1: Okay, what's your Mike LaFleur handshake? Do you have one?
[17:36] Speaker 5: Ooh, so that's a great question. I don't have a
[17:38] Speaker 5: Mike LaFleur handshake. I got a Nathaniel Hackett handshake, OC,
[17:42] Speaker 5: so that's good. But Mike LaFleur, what I try to
[17:45] Speaker 5: do is find something in common. So me and Mike
[17:48] Speaker 5: have to find something that we have in common. I
[17:51] Speaker 5: don't know whether it's playing basketball or something. I don't know.
[17:54] Speaker 5: He likes hoops, so do a handshake, shoot a shot.
[17:56] Speaker 5: I don't know. Still working on it, so that's a
[17:58] Speaker 5: good challenge, bro. So I appreciate that. But a lot
[18:00] Speaker 5: of guys on the team have good handshakes with, man,
[18:02] Speaker 5: building that team camaraderie. But Mike LaFleur is the last one,
[18:05] Speaker 5: so I'm going to get that done.
[18:07] Speaker 1: What's your favorite? Last question. What's your favorite handshake of
[18:09] Speaker 1: the ones you have in the building?
[18:11] Speaker 5: Honestly, right now it's Marvin Harrison. That's my guy. So
[18:15] Speaker 5: we do a little, uh, uh, uh, uh, put the
[18:17] Speaker 5: ski mask on because we're out there hunting, man. You
[18:19] Speaker 5: know what I'm saying? We're trying to make plays. And Marv,
[18:21] Speaker 5: you know what I'm saying, it's just been fun getting him, like,
[18:24] Speaker 5: in that camaraderie sense. And it is dope that he's
[18:27] Speaker 5: joined it with me. Because, you know, Marv's quiet, so
[18:29] Speaker 5: he's chill. But he's like, I got you, KB. I'll
[18:32] Speaker 5: get right with you. So that meant a lot to me.
[18:34] Speaker 1: He's like his old man. He's quiet. And much like
[18:36] Speaker 1: his old man, he had that nice over-the-shoulder catch down
[18:38] Speaker 1: the left side.
[18:39] Speaker 2: Big time.
[18:39] Speaker 1: To get that win. You guys trying to go to 2-0?
[18:41] Speaker 1: Trying to end a losing streak against the Seahawks. Kendrick Bourne,
[18:45] Speaker 1: good luck to you. Thanks for joining us today.
[18:47] Speaker 5: Thank you, Andrew. Appreciate you guys.
[18:50] Speaker 1: Hendrick Borum might be my new favorite person. They beat
[18:53] Speaker 1: the Chargers last week and no one saw that coming
[18:56] Speaker 1: other than, of course, the Cardinals. Now the Chargers have
[18:58] Speaker 1: to bounce back and they get the Raiders coming to town.
[19:02] Speaker 1: Justin Herbert started well, but after that first drive, it
[19:04] Speaker 1: kind of went downhill.
[19:06] Speaker 9: You know, it's our next opponent. It's another opportunity for
[19:08] Speaker 9: us to go play football and to be better and
[19:10] Speaker 9: put our brand of work out there. And, you know,
[19:13] Speaker 9: I don't think we were happy or content with week
[19:17] Speaker 9: one effort. So, And, you know, we'll do everything we
[19:19] Speaker 9: can to fix it and be better this week. We
[19:21] Speaker 9: obviously have a lot of respect for them as a team.
[19:24] Speaker 9: You know, we know how good they can be. And,
[19:25] Speaker 9: you know, we definitely have to be on our best,
[19:28] Speaker 9: have a good week of practice so we can be prepared.
[19:29] Speaker 1: I mean, week two is crazy, isn't it? Because you overreact.
[19:35] Speaker 1: No other way to say it. After week one. And
[19:37] Speaker 1: then you head to week two and you're like, I
[19:39] Speaker 1: don't know, did I overreact? Like, are the Vikings really
[19:41] Speaker 1: that good? I mean, defensively, can the Bears score 60?
[19:45] Speaker 1: The Bengals defense, I mean, that was an anomaly, wasn't it?
[19:48] Speaker 1: The Packers keep blowing leads.
[19:50] Speaker 4: Right?
[19:50] Speaker 1: I mean, that's what they do. Sure. Like, there are
[19:53] Speaker 1: all these storylines and potential implications from a really good
[19:59] Speaker 1: schedule week number two. Like, what if the Giants beat
[20:03] Speaker 1: the Rams? Just saying. What if we have all these
[20:07] Speaker 1: crazy bounce-back candidates. We showed you Justin Herbert there. You
[20:12] Speaker 1: have a, you have a charger bounce back candidate, or
[20:14] Speaker 1: maybe all the chargers. Oh man, the running game.
[20:17] Speaker 5: Oh, Marion Hampton for sure is going to be bounced back.
[20:20] Speaker 5: Start him. He's going to be one of the highest
[20:22] Speaker 5: scoring running backs. I think I, I don't see the Raiders.
[20:26] Speaker 5: I don't think they're going to be able to.
[20:27] Speaker 1: Stop the chargers.
[20:28] Speaker 4: And here's what I expect happened earlier in the week.
[20:31] Speaker 5: I think You know, I think.
[20:34] Speaker 4: Jim Harbaugh stuck his head in into Mike McDaniel's office
[20:38] Speaker 4: with a tall glass of cold milk and said, hey,
[20:40] Speaker 4: how about we give the running backs the ball more
[20:42] Speaker 4: than 16 times this game?
[20:44] Speaker 5: And that's going to happen. You're going to see the
[20:46] Speaker 5: Chargers pound.
[20:47] Speaker 4: You're going to see them getting back to physical football.
[20:50] Speaker 4: And O'Marion Hampton is going to be the beneficiary. Another
[20:53] Speaker 4: guy that I think is going to get back to
[20:55] Speaker 4: playing better football is Bo Nix with the Denver Broncos. Now,
[20:58] Speaker 4: it was a bad game for Nix. It was a
[21:00] Speaker 4: bad game for the offense. It was really a bad
[21:02] Speaker 4: game for Davis Webb, the offensive coordinator and brand new
[21:04] Speaker 4: play caller. But from week one to week two, I
[21:07] Speaker 4: think we'll see a little bit more clarity, not just
[21:09] Speaker 4: with Davis Webb, but also with.
[21:12] Speaker 1: Bo Nix.
[21:13] Speaker 4: And I expect against a game defense and a very
[21:16] Speaker 4: good secondary from the Jaguars, I think we're going to
[21:19] Speaker 4: see Jalen Waddell. Jalen Waddell was a non-factor, a catch
[21:23] Speaker 4: for two yards. That cannot happen this week. Jalen Waddell
[21:27] Speaker 4: will be early and often. You'll see the ball touch
[21:30] Speaker 4: his hands. I think he's going to have a big
[21:31] Speaker 4: game and the passing game gets going. And the Bears defense, wow,
[21:35] Speaker 4: were they bad last week. Good thing they scored 59 points.
[21:38] Speaker 4: But the Bears defense, they only have four players right now,
[21:41] Speaker 4: their starting group, that were full-time starters last year. So
[21:44] Speaker 4: it's going to take a little while. I don't know
[21:45] Speaker 4: if they're going to be dominant defensively this week, but
[21:48] Speaker 4: I do expect a better effort, whether it's Kyler Murray
[21:50] Speaker 4: or Carson Wentz starting for Minnesota. We're going to see
[21:54] Speaker 4: a much better effort from the Bears defense, and they'll
[21:56] Speaker 4: shore it up a little bit.
[21:58] Speaker 1: Yeah, everybody thinks they can bounce back. But if they
[22:01] Speaker 1: don't bounce back week two, then it's panic mode, which
[22:04] Speaker 1: is brainstorming. That'll be a segment next week. Thank you, Lance.
[22:07] Speaker 1: Don't go anywhere. Coming up on the NFL Report, back
[22:10] Speaker 1: to Highmark. Isn't she lovely? Isn't she beautiful? Everybody jump

[22:40] Speaker 1: is Monday. So sign up today. Plus.NFL.com, plus.NFL.com. Terms and
[22:47] Speaker 1: conditions do apply. There is Josh Allen warming up at
[22:52] Speaker 1: the brand new Highmark Stadium. That is an unobstructed view
[22:56] Speaker 1: of the quarterback. When last he battled Jared Goff, it
[22:59] Speaker 1: was in December of 2024. They combined the two teams,
[23:03] Speaker 1: not just the quarterbacks. for 90 points. In the old stadium,
[23:06] Speaker 1: Josh Allen, 158 touchdowns, which I'm told is a lot.
[23:10] Speaker 1: Quick hits. Mike Reese says, Travion Henderson says, I'm ready
[23:15] Speaker 1: to go. The second year running back out of Ohio State,
[23:17] Speaker 1: missed the opener in Seattle, but he should be good
[23:20] Speaker 1: to go, at least according to him. This week against
[23:23] Speaker 1: the Steelers. Nico Collins, though, maybe not so much. He's
[23:26] Speaker 1: got a hammy. It happened Wednesday. Met with team doctors.
[23:29] Speaker 1: They don't think it's serious, but it's a wide receiver
[23:31] Speaker 1: with a hammy. When was the last time you heard
[23:33] Speaker 1: a wide receiver with a hammy actually play? I don't know.
[23:36] Speaker 1: Operators are standing by. What do you do for a
[23:40] Speaker 1: cheat meal? Anybody? I eat piles of chocolate chip cookies
[23:45] Speaker 1: on Sunday. That's how I used to do Red Zone.
[23:47] Speaker 1: I'd have 12 chocolate chip cookies and six cups of coffee.
[23:50] Speaker 1: Kirk Cousins is built differently.
[23:54] Speaker 7: I got an in-and-out problem, and it wasn't a big
[23:56] Speaker 7: deal when I lived in the Central or Eastern time zone.
[23:59] Speaker 7: But on the West Coast time zone, when I signed
[24:01] Speaker 7: with the Raiders, I knew this was going to be
[24:02] Speaker 7: an issue. And that is a great cheat meal, and
[24:06] Speaker 7: coming home from a win on a Sunday night, I
[24:07] Speaker 7: don't know if I can think of a better spot
[24:09] Speaker 7: than that.
[24:10] Speaker 1: Lance Zierlein, your cheat meal is what?
[24:14] Speaker 4: It's going to be cheese enchiladas with bacon-wrapped shrimp, the
[24:17] Speaker 4: old shrimp brisket.
[24:18] Speaker 1: All right, you got me on the bacon-wrapped shrimp. The
[24:20] Speaker 1: cheese enchiladas, man, hard to pass, but good for you.
[24:25] Speaker 5: Good for the.
[24:25] Speaker 1: Bills and the Lions. TNF coming up next. TNF game
[24:27] Speaker 1: day preview also. See you.
[24:28] Speaker 7: Bye.
