[0:07] Speaker 1: Fresh Office Verse, Father's Day as a dad. Josh Allen
[0:10] Speaker 1: joins the show as we look into how Joe Brady
[0:12] Speaker 1: can get the Bills farther towards their Lombardy goals.
[0:16] Speaker 2: I had a.
[0:17] Speaker 1: Training camp at Dallas. There's been an entire defensive overhaul.
[0:20] Speaker 1: They've had a few of those over the years. Jane
[0:22] Speaker 1: Slater chimes in on what makes this overhaul different and
[0:27] Speaker 1: what if you assembled a collection of heated takes that
[0:29] Speaker 1: weren't contrived, founded, actual beliefs that don't just burn, they
[0:34] Speaker 1: leave the Mark Mark Ross's hot takes. I had a
[0:36] Speaker 1: twenty twenty six all a part of Today's Insiders.
[0:39] Speaker 3: Which starts right now. Everybody, Welcome to the Insiders.
[0:42] Speaker 2: Fatrick Claybo'm here with the NFL Network insider.
[0:44] Speaker 1: Tom Pelisserro the Man came to La host of The
[0:47] Speaker 1: Rich Eisen Show Today. He's done nothing but work for
[0:49] Speaker 1: the entire like twenty seven hours he's been here.
[0:51] Speaker 4: Ay Man talked a lot of golf, World Cup, everything else.
[0:55] Speaker 3: Let's talk football for Theday sixty minutes. Clay back to
[0:57] Speaker 3: the basics of football. That's what we do on this show.
[1:00] Speaker 1: And here's what's noon today coming into the nfl LA
[1:03] Speaker 1: newsroom as the folks over at ESPN compiled this list
[1:07] Speaker 1: of very normal players that will have big impacts in
[1:11] Speaker 1: the twenty twenty six NFL season that are in line
[1:14] Speaker 1: for a contract extension. Let's examine this list tom where
[1:17] Speaker 1: there are a lot of marquee players, especially at the
[1:20] Speaker 1: quarterback position.
[1:21] Speaker 3: Let's start right there at the top with Baker Mayfield.
[1:23] Speaker 4: He said back at mini camp a couple of weeks
[1:25] Speaker 4: ago that the sides had not made any progress on
[1:28] Speaker 4: a contract extension. My understanding as of today is that
[1:32] Speaker 4: they're still in the same spot. It's not about whether
[1:34] Speaker 4: the Bucks want Baker Mayfield back or Mayfield wants to
[1:37] Speaker 4: stay in Tampa, as it often is. This comes down
[1:40] Speaker 4: to what does the value look like on a potential
[1:43] Speaker 4: new deal. Mayfield signed a three year, one hundred million
[1:45] Speaker 4: dollars contract back in twenty twenty four. Among the sixteen
[1:48] Speaker 4: veteran quarterbacks who are on franchise type contracts, Baker's the
[1:53] Speaker 4: lowest paid, So how far should he jump at a
[1:55] Speaker 4: time the top of the market is basically double what
[1:58] Speaker 4: he's making right now. The sides are not on the
[2:00] Speaker 4: same page on that Baker's already said the deadline for
[2:02] Speaker 4: him is the started training camp. If they don't get
[2:05] Speaker 4: a deal done at that point, he's staring down the
[2:08] Speaker 4: possibility of a franchise tag or a shot at free
[2:10] Speaker 4: agency next March. No such doubts exist about two of
[2:14] Speaker 4: the top running backs in the entire league, Bijon Robinson
[2:17] Speaker 4: Jamier Games. Both going into year four, they are newly
[2:19] Speaker 4: eligible for contract extensions.
[2:21] Speaker 3: It is a matter of when, not if.
[2:24] Speaker 4: It seems both these guys are going to reset that
[2:27] Speaker 4: running back market. Now, we'll see when it happens how
[2:30] Speaker 4: high the numbers go. There are times where two players
[2:33] Speaker 4: at the same position don't want to be the first
[2:35] Speaker 4: one to sign because then, like two days later, your
[2:37] Speaker 4: rate is the highest paid guy. It's a raise by
[2:40] Speaker 4: a guy who gets a couple of bucks more here. Again,
[2:42] Speaker 4: both of these are priorities for their teams. They have
[2:44] Speaker 4: two years left on their rookie contracts, but both teams
[2:47] Speaker 4: have made clear that they would like to get a
[2:49] Speaker 4: deal done here. As for Pooka Nakoua, there is obviously
[2:52] Speaker 4: a lot to unpack with the Rams superstar because Pooka
[2:56] Speaker 4: the player is a guy you absolutely want to lock
[2:58] Speaker 4: up for the long haul, all in the market is
[3:00] Speaker 4: pretty well set. Even though Puoka wasn't a first round pick.
[3:03] Speaker 4: The math is different Jackson Smith and Jay By getting
[3:05] Speaker 4: the extension he got probably gives you a good idea
[3:08] Speaker 4: of what the numbers might.
[3:09] Speaker 3: Look like in a Puka deal.
[3:10] Speaker 4: But the focus in this offseason has been on Pooka
[3:13] Speaker 4: the person. He spent a stint in rehab earlier this offseason.
[3:17] Speaker 4: He's been back in the building this spring by all accounts,
[3:19] Speaker 4: has looked like himself. It always seemed unlikely that the
[3:23] Speaker 4: Rams would try to get something done until closer to
[3:26] Speaker 4: the start of the regular season. We're seventy seven days
[3:29] Speaker 4: away from football kicking off Patricks, so keep an eye
[3:31] Speaker 4: on this one as things going forward.
[3:32] Speaker 2: Yeah, I definitely look forward to in the contract space.
[3:35] Speaker 1: We've had a good bit of movement, the player movement
[3:37] Speaker 1: in the off season, but a lot of it in
[3:38] Speaker 1: the coaching ranks as well.
[3:42] Speaker 5: Good, good reight right to I get that all across
[3:45] Speaker 5: phit that handle the chest with a thumb down. Sever
[3:48] Speaker 5: myns go up and you go here and you're show's gonna
[3:50] Speaker 5: pull back. So it's the same thing if I'm pressed,
[3:52] Speaker 5: all right, He goes like he starts dancing. I'm just
[3:54] Speaker 5: gonna throw it if we're just trying to just mirror
[3:56] Speaker 5: with our hands behind on back the whole time we're
[3:58] Speaker 5: at there, Mercy, you know what I'm saying.
[4:00] Speaker 2: He knows what the ball is going.
[4:00] Speaker 5: You got to ease your feet. What you got your feet,
[4:02] Speaker 5: But you don't want to have to use only that,
[4:03] Speaker 5: use your weapons.
[4:07] Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, we gotta hope we are bring them back,
[4:13] Speaker 1: bring them back, bring them back.
[4:18] Speaker 3: They're far come.
[4:22] Speaker 5: You see what happens when we over communicate.
[4:24] Speaker 2: Right now, that's new Cowboys DC.
[4:26] Speaker 1: Christian Parker miked up the Cowboys on that short list
[4:28] Speaker 1: of teams that just need their defense to get back
[4:32] Speaker 1: to being the middle of the road to be dangerous.
[4:34] Speaker 1: Their training camp starts coming up on July twenty eighth,
[4:38] Speaker 1: a month and a little bit of change until they
[4:41] Speaker 1: get going for more on Dallas. We'll say hello and
[4:43] Speaker 1: good evening to our friend Jane Slater joining us now
[4:46] Speaker 1: on the Insider's got to see the hands on approach
[4:48] Speaker 1: from Christian Parkers. They'd like that defense to be a
[4:51] Speaker 1: little different this time around.
[4:52] Speaker 6: Jane shout out to our producers for getting that on
[4:56] Speaker 6: because I think it's so important for the fans that
[4:58] Speaker 6: are trying to get a sense of who thirty four
[5:00] Speaker 6: year old first time DC is. I'm just going to
[5:04] Speaker 6: start calling Christian Parker professor Parker because when you listen
[5:07] Speaker 6: to some of his press conferences, you truly learn something.
[5:11] Speaker 6: So that is your all season homework. Fans, go check
[5:14] Speaker 6: them out there on Dallas Cowboys dot com.
[5:16] Speaker 3: One thing he really talked.
[5:17] Speaker 6: About this week was that most good schemes find ways
[5:20] Speaker 6: to compartmentalized word meetings for different position groups. In other words,
[5:24] Speaker 6: that was his response to what's the language going to
[5:27] Speaker 6: look like for this scheme? Remember it's four to three
[5:30] Speaker 6: multiple that's going to be the base of it, or
[5:32] Speaker 6: three to four multiple.
[5:34] Speaker 3: That's going to be the base of it. He says.
[5:35] Speaker 6: The categories you typically do by pressures or coverages or
[5:38] Speaker 6: different types. He told us he's got an Excel document
[5:41] Speaker 6: with weapons, NBA teams, insects. He just wants to make
[5:45] Speaker 6: sure that he's got enough inventory to fit those words
[5:49] Speaker 6: or whatever it might be. My point in saying all
[5:51] Speaker 6: of this is it is extensive and the way that
[5:54] Speaker 6: he is rebranding and reorganizing how they go about this.
[5:58] Speaker 3: I love that they've bottom lined this year. They're using
[6:00] Speaker 3: a pop.
[6:01] Speaker 6: Quid messot pop quiz method as their teaching method. Why
[6:05] Speaker 6: because look, there were times last year when you look
[6:08] Speaker 6: to this defense and they were freelancing a lot. I
[6:10] Speaker 6: don't think because you had a lot of the guys
[6:12] Speaker 6: that were injured, or you had the holdout situation or
[6:15] Speaker 6: hold in rather with Micah Parsons, that we ever really
[6:19] Speaker 6: got that roster on the same page as it related
[6:23] Speaker 6: to this defense. And when you listen to Christian Parker,
[6:25] Speaker 6: and when you listen to the players or even guys
[6:28] Speaker 6: like Darren Woodson who have been up there and sort
[6:30] Speaker 6: of paid attention to what's going on this season, you
[6:33] Speaker 6: get the sense that not only is he making sure
[6:35] Speaker 6: they're all on the same page, but you better be
[6:37] Speaker 6: ready for pop quizzes. I don't know about you, Tom,
[6:40] Speaker 6: but when I would get pop quizzes, I'm not always
[6:42] Speaker 6: good at thinking on my feet. Sometimes you'll see when
[6:45] Speaker 6: I do these live shots, I stumble.
[6:46] Speaker 3: On my words.
[6:47] Speaker 6: I would struggle if I was as players, but I
[6:50] Speaker 6: shortly would make sure that I'm coming ready to.
[6:52] Speaker 4: Practice lit The last season was a pop quiz for
[6:55] Speaker 4: the Cowboys coaching staff because Okay, training camps wrapping up,
[6:57] Speaker 4: it's Slay august I. We're trained to weigh your best player,
[7:00] Speaker 4: and now we're bringing in a new nose tackle. And
[7:01] Speaker 4: then in the middle of the season, we're a trade
[7:02] Speaker 4: for a middle linebacker. We're a trade for a defensive tackle.
[7:04] Speaker 4: There have been so many moving parts they've overhauled this
[7:07] Speaker 4: defense in the past ten months, and I think it's
[7:09] Speaker 4: instructive to look at the places that.
[7:11] Speaker 3: They added from.
[7:12] Speaker 4: Where Shaan Gary comes over in a trade from Green Bay,
[7:15] Speaker 4: de Winters comes over in a trade from San Francisco.
[7:19] Speaker 4: Most of the additions the Cowboys made through the course
[7:22] Speaker 4: of this offseason came from winning programs. The only exception
[7:25] Speaker 4: to that is really Jalen Thompson, the safety who came
[7:27] Speaker 4: from Arizona. But he's always been a player who has
[7:30] Speaker 4: had a reputation for having winning habits. They are hoping
[7:34] Speaker 4: those habits turned into production, and obviously Christian Parker running
[7:37] Speaker 4: that schemes.
[7:37] Speaker 3: Can be a huge part of it.
[7:38] Speaker 1: Yeah, getting this defense back to where they would like
[7:41] Speaker 1: it to be and something that's been around a problem
[7:43] Speaker 1: for a while. And think back to that last playoff
[7:45] Speaker 1: loss where the Packers put up forty eight points. They'd
[7:48] Speaker 1: like to do something else to get rid of that memory.
[7:50] Speaker 1: Jane Slater with the latest on the Dallas Cowboys. Thank you, Jane.
[7:54] Speaker 3: We'll go to one of.
[7:55] Speaker 1: Those teams that have provided playoff losses to the Dallas Cowboys.
[7:58] Speaker 2: Those in San Francisco forty nine ers.
[8:00] Speaker 1: They didn't have their mini camp, so the next time
[8:01] Speaker 1: we will get to see them in action will be
[8:03] Speaker 1: July eighteenth for the rookies. The veterans on July twenty fifth,
[8:07] Speaker 1: unless you count tight in You, which is where Brock
[8:10] Speaker 1: Party and Matt Jones will throwing passes this week. Also,
[8:13] Speaker 1: Brock Party going one on one with ESPN's Lindsey Theory.
[8:17] Speaker 7: Brock your first time in time see what do you
[8:20] Speaker 7: think of the entire production that your teammate George Kittle
[8:22] Speaker 7: puts on.
[8:23] Speaker 8: I mean, this is impressive, you know, obviously I've heard
[8:25] Speaker 8: about it years ago, but coming here and being here,
[8:28] Speaker 8: all the greats that are here, the current players that
[8:31] Speaker 8: are here, and the fans and stuff like the fact
[8:33] Speaker 8: that you know, he does such a good job of
[8:35] Speaker 8: building it up and it's alive, it's running.
[8:37] Speaker 9: It's really cool. So tight End.
[8:39] Speaker 7: University tell me about your role in all of this.
[8:42] Speaker 8: I mean, honestly, it's just be a bro to everybody.
[8:45] Speaker 8: Throw the ball around. There's no pressure on my eye
[8:47] Speaker 8: and I'm just here to have fun.
[8:48] Speaker 3: So, dear bro, throw the ball around.
[8:50] Speaker 7: What is it like throwing two guys of this caliber,
[8:53] Speaker 7: all the best in their game?
[8:54] Speaker 8: I think it's so cool. I mean everyone here is
[8:56] Speaker 8: so talented. They're starters on every team. There's Hall of
[8:59] Speaker 8: Fame end here still running around. So for me to
[9:01] Speaker 8: be out here, it's just it's an honor.
[9:03] Speaker 7: Turning to the forty nine ers, Kyle Shanahan ended the
[9:06] Speaker 7: off season program a little made early. Tell me what
[9:08] Speaker 7: you guys were able to accomplish out there?
[9:10] Speaker 3: I thought it was good.
[9:11] Speaker 8: You know, we have a lot of new faces and
[9:13] Speaker 8: new guys, you know, for me, new receivers and chemistry
[9:16] Speaker 8: that to get down, and I thought we accomplished that.
[9:18] Speaker 8: And obviously it's about staying healthy and being ready, you know,
[9:21] Speaker 8: come season. So Kyle's doing a good job with you know,
[9:23] Speaker 8: making calls on that and everything.
[9:25] Speaker 7: So Mike Evans a notable new face for you guys.
[9:28] Speaker 2: How have you built a connection with him?
[9:29] Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean just for Mike be able to show
[9:32] Speaker 8: up and put his head down, go to work, learn
[9:34] Speaker 8: our playbook. Uh, you know, both of us out there
[9:36] Speaker 8: talking about every throw, every rep that we've had together.
[9:39] Speaker 9: What he's thinking, not just what I'm thinking.
[9:42] Speaker 8: And he's a Hall of Fame receiver, so I'm like
[9:43] Speaker 8: trying to learn and soak in as much as I
[9:44] Speaker 8: can and want to perform really well for him.
[9:47] Speaker 7: George coming off the and Kelly's injury, how over are
[9:50] Speaker 7: you for his return?
[9:51] Speaker 8: I mean, he's the most explosive tight end in the NFL.
[9:55] Speaker 8: The energy he brings to our team as leadership, Like,
[9:57] Speaker 8: obviously I want to be out there week one off them,
[10:00] Speaker 8: but we're gonna see you.
[10:01] Speaker 3: We're gonna take it one day at a time.
[10:02] Speaker 7: So the NFC West is a galllet you have the division,
[10:06] Speaker 7: excuse me, the defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks. Obviously the
[10:09] Speaker 7: Rams are building a roster of the two time defensive
[10:11] Speaker 7: Player of the Year in Matthew Stafford. How do you
[10:14] Speaker 7: see the division when you look at it for this
[10:16] Speaker 7: upcoming season?
[10:17] Speaker 8: Yeah, I think we have probably the best division in
[10:19] Speaker 8: the NFL, respectfully, and I think guys all know that
[10:23] Speaker 8: on our team, and it's not always Hey, it's about them.
[10:26] Speaker 8: It's about them, like we have to focus on ourselves,
[10:28] Speaker 8: focus on our craft and and how we're gonna go
[10:30] Speaker 8: about training camp and getting ready for the season and
[10:32] Speaker 8: put our heads down and take it one week at
[10:34] Speaker 8: a time.
[10:34] Speaker 2: Go from there.
[10:35] Speaker 7: And how do you prepare for a week one opener
[10:38] Speaker 7: in Australia against.
[10:39] Speaker 3: A division rival?
[10:41] Speaker 8: I mean to go across the world. I don't know
[10:43] Speaker 8: how you prepare for that, but it's gonna be fun
[10:45] Speaker 8: just going to Australia playing our division rival. And you know,
[10:49] Speaker 8: for us, we're gonna take it one day at a time,
[10:50] Speaker 8: just like I said, And you know, have a have
[10:52] Speaker 8: a good offseason and be ready to rule for a
[10:54] Speaker 8: week one.
[10:55] Speaker 9: Thanks for the time enjoying it out here.
[10:56] Speaker 1: Thank you, jorin us now our front office expert in
[10:59] Speaker 1: Super Bowl Chain Mark Rossmark. I love that, Brock perty
[11:02] Speaker 1: said of respectfully before he said that they had the
[11:04] Speaker 1: best division in football. It's gonna be tough. What's your
[11:07] Speaker 1: biggest question for the forty nine ers here in twenty
[11:09] Speaker 1: twenty six, Well, Brock set me up.
[11:12] Speaker 10: I didn't see his clip before I had my talking points,
[11:14] Speaker 10: and that was stay injury free and for the forty
[11:18] Speaker 10: nine ers, they haven't been able to do that, and
[11:20] Speaker 10: I felt that pain with the Giants in twenty fourteen
[11:22] Speaker 10: and fifteen, Patrick we led the league in injuries two
[11:25] Speaker 10: straight years. You just you think you train the same,
[11:28] Speaker 10: you think your trainers are doing a good job, the
[11:29] Speaker 10: strength coaches, but sometimes that's just bad luck that you
[11:32] Speaker 10: have with injuries. And for the forty nine ers, unfortunately,
[11:35] Speaker 10: that's followed them the past few years. And it's not
[11:38] Speaker 10: just who gets injured, how much, how bad you know,
[11:41] Speaker 10: it's really if your stars get injured and how long
[11:44] Speaker 10: they'll be out. And for the forty nine ers, I
[11:47] Speaker 10: mean it's been their stars. I mean just last season
[11:50] Speaker 10: with Brandon i you, Boso, Fred Warner, Brock Purty, Ricky Piersoll,
[11:55] Speaker 10: George Kittle, Juwan Jaynen. Those guys missed sixty six games
[11:59] Speaker 10: total with just those players, and of course all of
[12:02] Speaker 10: those guys are Pro Bowl caliber.
[12:04] Speaker 2: Players a year in and year out.
[12:06] Speaker 10: So for the forty nine ers, the key thing for
[12:08] Speaker 10: them this year is just to not be have all
[12:11] Speaker 10: of those guys hurt, because even with having some of
[12:13] Speaker 10: them gone for parts of the season, they're still at
[12:16] Speaker 10: the top end, always contenders. So if finally they can
[12:20] Speaker 10: stay healthy Patrick, they have a legit shot, even though
[12:24] Speaker 10: they do play in the best division in football.
[12:26] Speaker 1: It's really unfortunate how much luck just fairly plays into that,
[12:29] Speaker 1: because so many times that's the question for a lot
[12:31] Speaker 1: of teams. It's the question seemingly every season for the
[12:34] Speaker 1: San Francisco forty nine ers. We'll be back with Mark
[12:36] Speaker 1: Ross as we continue here on this edition of The Insiders.
[12:39] Speaker 1: We do have our congratulations going up. This is coming
[12:42] Speaker 1: from NFL Network and sider Tom Pella, Seros Worlds Mike
[12:44] Speaker 1: garyl Fulla. The Jags and Britain Strange agreed to a
[12:47] Speaker 1: three year extension could be worth up to forty eight
[12:50] Speaker 1: million dollars. Twenty five million of that is guaranteed. Congratulations
[12:54] Speaker 1: to Britain Strange. Well, we come back, want to start
[12:57] Speaker 1: to the twenty five season. It was for Daniel in
[13:00] Speaker 1: the Colts, but he would be an even bigger story
[13:03] Speaker 1: if he comes back from injury to do it all
[13:05] Speaker 1: over again.
[13:06] Speaker 2: We look at that opportunity.
[13:08] Speaker 1: And with a new child, a new stadium, and now
[13:11] Speaker 1: Josh Allen rezumes his quest for a new trophy to
[13:13] Speaker 1: come to one Bill's Drive. He goes one on one
[13:16] Speaker 1: with Tom Pellisera. When we come back on the inside.
[13:27] Speaker 4: The Bills cut the ribbon on the new high Mark Stadium,
[13:31] Speaker 4: not far from the old high Mark Stadium they had
[13:33] Speaker 4: called home for decades.
[13:35] Speaker 3: They can look at this beauty right here.
[13:37] Speaker 4: The next time the Bills take the field and their quarterback,
[13:40] Speaker 4: Josh Allen, it will be right there and right here
[13:43] Speaker 4: with us now, is indeed Josh Allen, Josh, I know
[13:47] Speaker 4: you got a chance to kind of look around a
[13:49] Speaker 4: little bit.
[13:49] Speaker 3: What do you think of the new digs?
[13:52] Speaker 11: It's awesome, The locker rooms are great, The stadium's fantastic.
[13:55] Speaker 9: The field is grass.
[13:56] Speaker 11: We love grass fields of small wins. You know, they
[14:03] Speaker 11: lessen the wind in there and hopefully we get to
[14:06] Speaker 11: feel that, uh when we're on the field here soon.
[14:08] Speaker 4: I always think about this and particularly a place that's
[14:11] Speaker 4: kind of as frankly grimy as your prior stadium. It
[14:14] Speaker 4: kind of fit with the general chaos and the tailgates
[14:18] Speaker 4: everything else when you're moving into this new billion dollar stadium, Like,
[14:21] Speaker 4: can fans still go through tables? Do we have to
[14:24] Speaker 4: class it up a little bit? Like what are your
[14:25] Speaker 4: thoughts on how this changes the dynamics of the organization.
[14:30] Speaker 9: Let's hope not.
[14:33] Speaker 11: You know, we still want the same enthusiasm. We still
[14:35] Speaker 11: want the fan base to be, you know, as rapid
[14:38] Speaker 11: as they are in the stadium and as loud as
[14:40] Speaker 11: they can be when we're on we're on defense, obviously
[14:44] Speaker 11: we want them to be quiet and we're on offense.
[14:46] Speaker 11: But no, we want them to have that same type
[14:49] Speaker 11: of energy and that same type of buzz. And you know,
[14:51] Speaker 11: this is a spot for new beginnings and new memories
[14:54] Speaker 11: to be made with you know, your loved ones and
[14:56] Speaker 11: family members and us as teammates. So we're very much
[14:59] Speaker 11: looking for We're to having the opportunity to play in
[15:01] Speaker 11: there and just looking forward to making the memories.
[15:04] Speaker 4: You also have new teammates, you got a new coaching
[15:07] Speaker 4: staff there, just wrapping up mini camp. Tell me about
[15:09] Speaker 4: from your field so far, what are the twenty twenty
[15:11] Speaker 4: six bills going to be all about?
[15:14] Speaker 11: You know, a lot of new we're gonna we're gonna
[15:16] Speaker 11: figure things out, and obviously we go to camp July
[15:19] Speaker 11: twenty eighth, that's where really where you make your team,
[15:23] Speaker 11: you know.
[15:23] Speaker 9: But you, like you said, a lot of.
[15:24] Speaker 11: New faces offense, defense staff wise, new stadium, new head coach,
[15:31] Speaker 11: So there is a lot of news and we're looking
[15:33] Speaker 11: forward to getting out there and really learning each other
[15:35] Speaker 11: and building that team camaraderie when we go to Saint
[15:38] Speaker 11: John Fisher's in Rochester. But yeah, I mean it's another
[15:42] Speaker 11: tough task, but the goal remains the same, and that's
[15:45] Speaker 11: to bring a you know, Lombardi Trophy to Western New
[15:48] Speaker 11: York and we're gonna do everything in our power.
[15:50] Speaker 9: To make that happen.
[15:51] Speaker 4: Everybody's generally optimistic, get a good mood right April May June.
[15:54] Speaker 4: You're not competing nine hundred percent all the time, and
[15:57] Speaker 4: what nobody's playing a game yet. But for what you've
[15:59] Speaker 4: seen with Joe Brady the head coach, you know him
[16:01] Speaker 4: as the OC, what's the difference to Joe Brady head coach.
[16:06] Speaker 11: He cares what the defense is doing more. He's sharing
[16:09] Speaker 11: now when they picked the ball off in practice. So
[16:12] Speaker 11: you know, you kind of have to wear both hats
[16:14] Speaker 11: when you're the head coach. And he's doing such an
[16:16] Speaker 11: amazing job, and he cares so much about the players.
[16:21] Speaker 11: The players could fill his realness and you know he's
[16:24] Speaker 11: he's as excited as anybody else in the building. He's
[16:28] Speaker 11: he's ready to be in that new stadium and get
[16:31] Speaker 11: things rocket.
[16:32] Speaker 4: A lot of excitement obviously with DJ Moore coming in too,
[16:34] Speaker 4: to add to that wide receiver group. Everybody's expecting obviously
[16:37] Speaker 4: production from DJ. But again early here, But how do
[16:40] Speaker 4: you anticipate that impacts everything else in terms of your
[16:43] Speaker 4: options across the field?
[16:46] Speaker 11: Yeah, I mean, I think what DJ is going to
[16:47] Speaker 11: bring to us is obviously a veteran leadership. He's been
[16:51] Speaker 11: in the league as long as I've been in the league,
[16:53] Speaker 11: and he's produced it at such a high level for
[16:56] Speaker 11: the last eight years.
[16:57] Speaker 9: And just really getting to know him.
[16:59] Speaker 11: And we're lockermates and to have that relationship that we
[17:02] Speaker 11: already have, you know, it's a pretty seamless fit. I'm
[17:06] Speaker 11: just excited to continue to get to work with him
[17:08] Speaker 11: and you know, he's going to be a huge help
[17:10] Speaker 11: for us this off or this this next season.
[17:13] Speaker 4: And to talk about how long you've been in the
[17:15] Speaker 4: league that's out entering year nine, you just turned thirty
[17:19] Speaker 4: years old. Like that's a wild number because I can remember,
[17:23] Speaker 4: like yesterday you coming out in the draft here, what
[17:25] Speaker 4: do you work on at this stage?
[17:26] Speaker 3: What is Josh Allen trying to get better at still mechanics.
[17:30] Speaker 11: I think off off the field, trying to be better
[17:32] Speaker 11: in my routine, trying to sleep better. You know, I'm
[17:35] Speaker 11: here with Natrol and trying to get the best sleep
[17:37] Speaker 11: that I can get. But at the end of the day,
[17:40] Speaker 11: just again finding finding little nuances, better with my eyes,
[17:44] Speaker 11: better with my feet, putting the ball in better spots
[17:46] Speaker 11: for for our team, and ultimately when we get to
[17:48] Speaker 11: the playoffs, trying to trying to find a way to
[17:51] Speaker 11: get the job done. We haven't done it, and we're
[17:53] Speaker 11: going to keep turning over every every stone and every
[17:55] Speaker 11: leaf till we do.
[17:57] Speaker 4: You talk about sleeping better, You're getting some help, as
[17:59] Speaker 4: you mentioned from Natrol, but not easy with an infant
[18:03] Speaker 4: in the house a few months old. Like I remember
[18:06] Speaker 4: those dates. How are you sleeping? Functioning cognitively? Like, how
[18:12] Speaker 4: do you feel right now?
[18:14] Speaker 9: I feel great? I feel great.
[18:16] Speaker 11: You know, as a new father you kind of figure
[18:18] Speaker 11: out that sleep is a pretty important thing, and not
[18:22] Speaker 11: just for you, for the baby, for your wife, and
[18:24] Speaker 11: for everybody's mental well being. So just making sure that
[18:28] Speaker 11: we're doing everything in our power possible to get as
[18:32] Speaker 11: much sleep as we can. But those three, four or
[18:34] Speaker 11: five o'clock wake up calls. I'm taking them, you know,
[18:38] Speaker 11: in stride and just being as happy as possible and
[18:40] Speaker 11: enjoying the moments.
[18:41] Speaker 4: Josh, great seeing man, Thanks for the time.
[18:43] Speaker 3: Good luck you too, Thank you.
[18:45] Speaker 1: So just what's today coming into the NFL LA newsroom.
[18:48] Speaker 1: Congrats going out to Jack's tight end Britain. Strange agreed
[18:51] Speaker 1: to a three year extension could be worth up to
[18:53] Speaker 1: forty eight million dollars, going to NFL network insiders Mike
[18:55] Speaker 1: Garrilfolo and Tom Pellicero. It was his fellow tight end
[18:59] Speaker 1: Kyle that got his deal yesterday, one that includes two
[19:02] Speaker 1: fully guaranteed years of thirty six million dollars. He's currently
[19:06] Speaker 1: in Nashville for tight end. You and got to talk
[19:08] Speaker 1: about staying in Atlanta long term.
[19:13] Speaker 12: God, it's good, God, it's good man. I want to
[19:16] Speaker 12: just say shout out to the dirty birds, the dirty
[19:18] Speaker 12: bird nests, the whole you know, Atlanta nation. Man. I
[19:21] Speaker 12: appreciate it, appreciate you, mister Blank. I can't wait to
[19:24] Speaker 12: see we have a story and keep the staying rolling.
[19:27] Speaker 1: Things that they want to work towards, of course, is
[19:30] Speaker 1: getting out of the Lombardi trouble. Here we get to
[19:32] Speaker 1: see Kyle Pitts working on his hands and reactions at
[19:35] Speaker 1: tight end. You such a skilled player, big part of
[19:39] Speaker 1: why they drafted them the top five and why he
[19:40] Speaker 1: got that deal. The ultimate goal is the one that
[19:43] Speaker 1: the Seahawks experienced. Sam Darnold got that moment so many
[19:46] Speaker 1: people dream.
[19:47] Speaker 3: Of his children.
[19:48] Speaker 1: He hoisted the Lombardi Trophy as confetti fell. But all
[19:51] Speaker 1: the Busting with the Boys podcast said it wasn't all
[19:53] Speaker 1: it was cracked up to be.
[19:55] Speaker 13: I didn't play great in the super Bowl. Like I
[19:57] Speaker 13: missed like way too many throws and well a one
[20:00] Speaker 13: like our defense balled out and I didn't turn the
[20:02] Speaker 13: ball over, which hell, but like, dude, to like win
[20:06] Speaker 13: the Super Bowl that way, I was like kind of bummed.
[20:10] Speaker 3: I don't want to freaking spot.
[20:13] Speaker 13: I want to score like forty points, you know what
[20:15] Speaker 13: I mean, Like I want to go out there and
[20:16] Speaker 13: ball out. And it's just like, dang, like I didn't
[20:19] Speaker 13: play my best football in the super Bowl. That chase
[20:21] Speaker 13: of like that never ends, you know what I mean,
[20:24] Speaker 13: Like you're never satisfied of like, oh, like we won
[20:27] Speaker 13: the super Bowl now, like I don't need to really
[20:29] Speaker 13: train that hard, like you know, what I mean. It's like, no,
[20:31] Speaker 13: like I you know, took a two week two week
[20:35] Speaker 13: break after I was done with the Super Bowl, and
[20:37] Speaker 13: then I got back on the bike and started some
[20:38] Speaker 13: cardio stuff like weight training. But it was like, dude,
[20:41] Speaker 13: it was great to like get back into training, you
[20:43] Speaker 13: know what I mean, because like everyone talks about, like, oh,
[20:46] Speaker 13: what was the best part about winning the Super Bowl?
[20:48] Speaker 13: Like when did it like really sink in. It's like
[20:50] Speaker 13: it never really like hits you. Like there's never like
[20:52] Speaker 13: this moment where you're like, oh, that was awesome.
[20:56] Speaker 3: Aeronman wins Super Bowl.
[20:58] Speaker 1: Not happy about it, Tommy, It's good problems to have
[21:01] Speaker 1: because he's got that trophy.
[21:03] Speaker 4: Sam Donald's being a little bit hard on himself here.
[21:05] Speaker 4: The guy threw five touchdown passes zero interceptions in three
[21:08] Speaker 4: playoff games. That is exactly how the Seahawks are built
[21:11] Speaker 4: to win, which is you play dominant defense, you control
[21:14] Speaker 4: the clock in the run game, run the football, and
[21:18] Speaker 4: don't turn it over, which he did at a high level.
[21:20] Speaker 4: Was the Super Bowl the sharpest game we saw Sam
[21:22] Speaker 4: Donald play all season. No, he was nineteen to thirty
[21:24] Speaker 4: eight passing, He barely cracked two hundred yards in that game.
[21:27] Speaker 4: But again, this is not a Seahawks team that needs
[21:30] Speaker 4: him to make twenty above the line throws in a game.
[21:33] Speaker 3: He did enough.
[21:34] Speaker 4: As a matter of his contract is concerned, He's entering
[21:37] Speaker 4: year two of a three year deal with the Seahawks.
[21:39] Speaker 4: It's w're one hundred and four million dollars roughly. That's
[21:42] Speaker 4: not top of the quarterback market type of money. It's
[21:44] Speaker 4: actually one of the lower paid franchise quarterbacks in the league.
[21:47] Speaker 4: It's a matter of organizational policy. The Seahawks never rip
[21:50] Speaker 4: up deals one year in when you signed a three
[21:52] Speaker 4: year contract here, So this is the season now that
[21:55] Speaker 4: Sam Donald could really cash in. If he continues to
[21:57] Speaker 4: play at the level we saw last year, at the
[21:59] Speaker 4: lovely play the year before in Minnesota, up until let's say,
[22:02] Speaker 4: those last two games of that season, He's gonna be
[22:05] Speaker 4: a very much rich man after that season. But I
[22:07] Speaker 4: appreciate the perspective from Sam Darnold as one of the
[22:09] Speaker 4: more normal quarterbacks for lack of a better term, that
[22:11] Speaker 4: you're gonna meet in the NFL, having the self awareness
[22:14] Speaker 4: to say, hey, that was not his best game, but
[22:16] Speaker 4: plenty good enough for that Seahawks team to dominate the paper.
[22:18] Speaker 1: Yeah, we appreciate the honesty and maybe that last game
[22:22] Speaker 1: as a Minnesota Viking playing into his desire to finish
[22:25] Speaker 1: things strong. And we'll see how the Seahawks bounce back.
[22:28] Speaker 1: I guess from the problem of winning the Super Bowl.
[22:31] Speaker 1: Afto looks back at it. It's time for us to
[22:34] Speaker 1: get to Mark Ross, because we are leaving a mark.
[22:38] Speaker 1: These are takes so hot that they leave a mark,
[22:41] Speaker 1: they burn, they send as Mark is our source for
[22:44] Speaker 1: these hot takes. Let's let's get one on some big
[22:47] Speaker 1: name quarterbacks.
[22:48] Speaker 2: Mark.
[22:50] Speaker 3: Yeah, man, I'm gonna leave them.
[22:51] Speaker 10: Mark like a Q dog getting going over acrossing the
[22:53] Speaker 10: line there, Patrick, So the first one is I'm gonna
[22:57] Speaker 10: check yours out later on.
[22:58] Speaker 3: The first one.
[22:59] Speaker 10: Five team from last season when losing records next year
[23:02] Speaker 10: are going to make the playoffs. And these are all
[23:03] Speaker 10: heavyweight teams, Patrick, with Kansas City, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Dallas, and Washington.
[23:10] Speaker 10: And they all have really two things in common. Number one,
[23:12] Speaker 10: besides Dallas, all their quarterbacks, their franchise quarterbacks, Pro Bowl
[23:16] Speaker 10: All Pro quarterbacks were hurt for stretches of the season.
[23:19] Speaker 10: And number two, their defenses weren't very good. So all
[23:23] Speaker 10: of those teams are hoping to get back those franchise quarterbacks.
[23:26] Speaker 10: And also all of them had major upgrades in the
[23:30] Speaker 10: offseason on the defensive side of the ball via free agency,
[23:34] Speaker 10: via the draft, or via both. So next year, all
[23:38] Speaker 10: five of those heavyweights are going to go make the
[23:40] Speaker 10: playoffs after having losing records last season.
[23:43] Speaker 1: Patrick, there we go. The tanks are hot. That's why
[23:45] Speaker 1: the topic bar is lit a flame. And you don't
[23:47] Speaker 1: have to worry about any brands on me. I will grill,
[23:50] Speaker 1: but there will be no gold boots. Maybe some atomic dog.
[23:54] Speaker 1: Let's get some takes here on a team that you
[23:56] Speaker 1: think will not be involved in the playoff proceedings at all.
[24:01] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[24:02] Speaker 10: Early part of the last season, the Coats and Daniel
[24:04] Speaker 10: Jones had a magical season. The first eight games, Daniel
[24:07] Speaker 10: Jones wasn't turning the ball over. Jonathan Taylor was an
[24:11] Speaker 10: MVP candidate, but the final four games before he got injured,
[24:15] Speaker 10: he kind of fell off the cliff and went averted
[24:17] Speaker 10: back to the old Daniel Jones. First eight games only
[24:20] Speaker 10: three turnovers. Those final four he had seven turnovers, particularly
[24:24] Speaker 10: versus pressure, which he always struggled against, the first eight
[24:27] Speaker 10: games had one hundred and five passer rating the last
[24:30] Speaker 10: four only fifty eight percent. You really saw him revert
[24:33] Speaker 10: back to who he was.
[24:35] Speaker 3: Oh yeah, and again he got hurt again, Daniel Jones. Patrick.
[24:38] Speaker 10: So that two year, eighty eight billion dollar contract with
[24:42] Speaker 10: sixty billion dollars guarantees that the Colts gave Daniel Jones
[24:45] Speaker 10: will look bad next year because he'll struggle early and
[24:48] Speaker 10: he'll get hurt again.
[24:50] Speaker 1: Now we'll see how the Colts fair, they bounce back season,
[24:53] Speaker 1: We'll see for Daniel Jones, any firm declarations on.
[24:56] Speaker 2: Rookie of the Year at this point here in Junie Mark,
[25:00] Speaker 2: this is an easy one.
[25:01] Speaker 10: We know we do two billion mock drafts leading up
[25:03] Speaker 10: to the draft.
[25:04] Speaker 2: Patrick.
[25:04] Speaker 10: Then when the draft knight hits, there's a surprise pick,
[25:07] Speaker 10: and that was Cardell Tate, the wide receiver out of
[25:09] Speaker 10: Ohio State who went to the Tennessee Titans. But he's
[25:13] Speaker 10: going to justify that with hooking up with cam Ward
[25:16] Speaker 10: providing a deep placed threat. He's going to join the
[25:19] Speaker 10: likes of Tech Ncmillan last season, Garrett Wilson, Jamar Chase
[25:23] Speaker 10: my Man obj who he drafted with the Giants, Percy Harvin,
[25:26] Speaker 10: and Kwan bolded and going all the way back to
[25:29] Speaker 10: Randy Moss as rookie wide receivers to win Offensive Rookie
[25:33] Speaker 10: of the Year.
[25:33] Speaker 2: So Carnell Tate, don't worry.
[25:34] Speaker 10: About that draft night drama and people saying it was
[25:37] Speaker 10: the wrong pick. He's going to show everybody wrong Patrick
[25:40] Speaker 10: and go win that thing.
[25:41] Speaker 2: I was excited about the Titans at this point.
[25:43] Speaker 3: So before we finish up the.
[25:45] Speaker 2: Hot takes, there's a lot of quarterback battles.
[25:47] Speaker 1: I need a singing take to justify again this a
[25:50] Speaker 1: flame graphic.
[25:52] Speaker 3: That we have.
[25:53] Speaker 2: Sinjy Tate.
[25:54] Speaker 10: Hear me talk about injuries a lot in this segment. Well,
[25:56] Speaker 10: another one where Trevor Simeon, the Atlanta Falcons third d
[26:00] Speaker 10: quarterback right now will start at least half the games
[26:02] Speaker 10: this season for the Falcons because Michael Pennix and to
[26:06] Speaker 10: A Tungabayolo, two of the most injured quarterbacks in the league,
[26:09] Speaker 10: will eat.
[26:10] Speaker 3: Both of them will get their chance to start.
[26:12] Speaker 10: Whoever can get out the training room will start each week,
[26:14] Speaker 10: and then both of them will have seions injuring injuries,
[26:17] Speaker 10: and then Trevor Simbion will have to have mop up
[26:20] Speaker 10: duty for the Falcons. Unfortunately, with a disappointing season, a
[26:24] Speaker 10: lot of high hopes coming in with Kevin Stefanski, but
[26:27] Speaker 10: who's going through quarterback rotations and back and forth throughout
[26:30] Speaker 10: his whole tenure with the Browns, and now he comes
[26:33] Speaker 10: to Atlanta and has to suffer through the same thing
[26:36] Speaker 10: with having to start his third string quarterback.
[26:38] Speaker 1: Patrick, I'm just glad that we get to talk about
[26:41] Speaker 1: Trevor Simon because it gives me a chance to be
[26:43] Speaker 1: right about my old Broncos quarterback takes. I've tried to
[26:46] Speaker 1: get the hashtag team trev going back in the day
[26:50] Speaker 1: when Trevor Simion was lighting up the NFL at two
[26:52] Speaker 1: and zero, when it was social media website Twitter dot
[26:55] Speaker 1: com before the fall, Mark, and you've given me a
[26:58] Speaker 1: chance to feel good about that.
[27:00] Speaker 3: Shout out to Trefferson and we'll be back for you.
[27:01] Speaker 2: Patrick, don't worry.
[27:02] Speaker 3: Don't worry.
[27:03] Speaker 1: Next to Mark Ross with leaving the Mark here on
[27:08] Speaker 1: The Insiders, more to come here on our show to
[27:11] Speaker 1: to at well with an opportunity not just to go home,
[27:15] Speaker 1: but to revitalize and reform a franchise that he wanted
[27:19] Speaker 1: to be a part of when he was a young man.
[27:20] Speaker 1: We did a chance to talk to him with Cam
[27:22] Speaker 1: Wolf coming up on the inside, checking in on minicamp
[27:32] Speaker 1: back for the Miami Dolphins new receiver to to at
[27:36] Speaker 1: well going up and snagging this getting both feet in bounds.
[27:40] Speaker 1: In fact, he's done that, which is cash passes the
[27:43] Speaker 1: National Football League to except better than any other Dolphin
[27:46] Speaker 1: that's actively.
[27:47] Speaker 2: On the roster.
[27:48] Speaker 1: One five hundred and thirty five career receiving yard six year,
[27:52] Speaker 1: which makes him one of the most experienced that's.
[27:56] Speaker 3: On this team.
[27:56] Speaker 2: And now to do outwell joining.
[27:58] Speaker 1: Us here on the ends with myself and Campbell to
[28:02] Speaker 1: do an opportunity to experience free agency and to go
[28:05] Speaker 1: home and be a part of this franchise in Miami.
[28:08] Speaker 2: What's that been like for you?
[28:09] Speaker 9: That's still great, man. It's to be home back to
[28:11] Speaker 9: the family.
[28:12] Speaker 14: I was in LA for five five years and it
[28:16] Speaker 14: was a great experience. You know, it's it's still a
[28:19] Speaker 14: second home to me. But you know, when I got
[28:21] Speaker 14: the call from Drew and he let me know that
[28:23] Speaker 14: I'll be a Mimy Dolphin and felt great, and I
[28:25] Speaker 14: let my mom and my family know and it was
[28:28] Speaker 14: very exciting for them.
[28:31] Speaker 15: To to Patrick just talked about opportunity I've seen you
[28:34] Speaker 15: at camp making plays, but there's a lot of Dolphins
[28:37] Speaker 15: fans who were wondering who's going to step up with
[28:39] Speaker 15: Tyreek going with Wadell Gone? Why should Dolphins fans be
[28:43] Speaker 15: confident in you and the wide receiver group this season?
[28:47] Speaker 14: I feel like we got a good group. You know,
[28:48] Speaker 14: a lot of good guys, a lot of guys that
[28:50] Speaker 14: played and play had some time to play in the league,
[28:53] Speaker 14: in this league, but I mean, man, you know, we
[28:56] Speaker 14: all grinding and we all have a we all have.
[29:00] Speaker 9: Something to improved. You know.
[29:01] Speaker 14: We got a lot of great guys on receive the
[29:03] Speaker 14: role elite JT. T. Marsh and a lot of a
[29:07] Speaker 14: lot of young guys. So I feel like we'll do
[29:09] Speaker 14: a great job this season.
[29:11] Speaker 1: All right, playing out here, you mentioned the way that
[29:14] Speaker 1: Los Angeles becomes a second home to you. We were
[29:17] Speaker 1: able to be within that Sean McVay system, and now
[29:19] Speaker 1: you've kind of got tangentially attached to the coaching tree
[29:23] Speaker 1: through Bobby Slow. What is the Dolphins offense looking like now?
[29:27] Speaker 1: And what are the real differences that you picked up on.
[29:30] Speaker 14: It's just different terminology for real, Everything is basically the same,
[29:34] Speaker 14: just different words and me and whatever like different slang
[29:38] Speaker 14: ole to tell you what to do, but it's everything
[29:41] Speaker 14: is literally the same, and it makes it way much
[29:44] Speaker 14: easier for me to you know, to understand.
[29:48] Speaker 3: To to a new coat, a new coast for you
[29:51] Speaker 3: to play on.
[29:52] Speaker 15: But I know you're still fast when I think of
[29:53] Speaker 15: too to that well, I think of your speed. When
[29:56] Speaker 15: I talk to Malik and Camp he said he's now
[29:58] Speaker 15: the fastest dolphin over divine Chan.
[30:01] Speaker 3: I want to know your take.
[30:03] Speaker 15: You racing against Malik, you're racing against cham How do
[30:06] Speaker 15: you fear in the fastest dolphin race?
[30:09] Speaker 14: I mean, uh, you know it's all about speed with me.
[30:12] Speaker 14: So I mean the tapes. The tape shows I'm gonna
[30:16] Speaker 14: let a league have his little confidence for now, but
[30:19] Speaker 14: we don't.
[30:19] Speaker 9: We don't waste some time.
[30:20] Speaker 14: And you know, Von he's he's fast as well, so
[30:24] Speaker 14: he had to see me too. So as right now,
[30:26] Speaker 14: which is is just funny lapsing giggles and stuff right now,
[30:28] Speaker 14: But we all gonna get a line up and we're
[30:30] Speaker 14: all gonna have that time to show you fasten.
[30:33] Speaker 1: Yeah, the little in there, it sounded like the loudest
[30:36] Speaker 1: part of that particular response. When we see this era
[30:41] Speaker 1: of the Miami Dolphins is a part of this change
[30:44] Speaker 1: that's going on there to also be a part of
[30:46] Speaker 1: the community. What is that process been like for you
[30:50] Speaker 1: to get back at the same time, but the Dolphins
[30:52] Speaker 1: were trying to get back to relevant.
[30:54] Speaker 14: Uh, they just feels great. I could be the one
[30:57] Speaker 14: that you know that just landy here and be something
[31:01] Speaker 14: special and I'll be happy to be a part of that.
[31:04] Speaker 14: But just maybe, man, just feel great to be home
[31:07] Speaker 14: and just be with my family for really and just
[31:10] Speaker 14: always always give back and do different camps and give
[31:13] Speaker 14: away this stuff. So it made way more eases for
[31:14] Speaker 14: me to be here and so I can attend those
[31:17] Speaker 14: events and it will make a big, big impact of
[31:20] Speaker 14: the community for me to be here with.
[31:22] Speaker 9: The Dolphins and make something speciality.
[31:25] Speaker 15: To One of my favorite questions to talk about with
[31:27] Speaker 15: my boys. I know you played ball here in South Florida.
[31:30] Speaker 15: Your quarterback last year played in Texas. A lot of
[31:33] Speaker 15: people will say, Cali where you played, Who has the
[31:36] Speaker 15: best high school football?
[31:37] Speaker 14: And why It's so funny because we had these talks.
[31:42] Speaker 14: You know, Vaughn h VN is from Houston, and you
[31:46] Speaker 14: know you'd be like, oh, Houston got the best best
[31:49] Speaker 14: teams and this and that.
[31:50] Speaker 9: But you know, we in Miami, in.
[31:52] Speaker 14: South Florida and bringing up my dolls, So I don't
[31:56] Speaker 14: know how they feel like Cali and TESSAs and all
[31:58] Speaker 14: these other states have the best football when libally is
[32:02] Speaker 14: nothing but Miami players all over.
[32:03] Speaker 9: So I'll be so confused. Well you do you know,
[32:07] Speaker 9: you know, you know Miami, Miami got the best football.
[32:10] Speaker 9: Everybody know that.
[32:11] Speaker 1: Well, the youth in Miami have an opportunity to get
[32:13] Speaker 1: even better in football with your camp that's coming up.
[32:16] Speaker 1: Tell us what we can look forward to.
[32:18] Speaker 14: Uh, you know, just it's gonna be my six years
[32:21] Speaker 14: to the year that's doing it.
[32:24] Speaker 9: You know, it's been successful all years.
[32:26] Speaker 14: Also have the seven or seven inmtation I do with
[32:29] Speaker 14: the high school teams, the inner city teams, and they
[32:32] Speaker 14: compete with five thousand dollars and everything's just been great.
[32:36] Speaker 9: Man. My mom, she do a hell of a job.
[32:38] Speaker 14: My bunt, my grandma's and everybody a part of the
[32:41] Speaker 14: foundation team. They do a great job with preparing everything,
[32:44] Speaker 14: make sure the kids got water, food and everything that
[32:47] Speaker 14: they need.
[32:48] Speaker 9: And this year we're gonna doing it on July eleven.
[32:51] Speaker 14: And we also we also put the part that I
[32:56] Speaker 14: play for Libery City Warriors. The eight gonna be playing
[33:00] Speaker 14: against some team and that's gonna be at twelve o'clock.
[33:02] Speaker 14: So we just added something for the community to come
[33:04] Speaker 14: out and watch, and they're gonna bring everybody together. And
[33:06] Speaker 14: it's something good that I do every year to bring
[33:11] Speaker 14: all the different people and whoever it is out to
[33:14] Speaker 14: one part to communicate and just you know, just mingle
[33:18] Speaker 14: and get to know each other instead of being in the
[33:20] Speaker 14: streets or being somewhere that that's something anything can happen.
[33:24] Speaker 9: So you have a lot of a lot of fun,
[33:26] Speaker 9: a lot of good skills out there. So y'all just
[33:28] Speaker 9: tune in and I see that as ninety eleven.
[33:33] Speaker 3: Yeah too too.
[33:33] Speaker 15: I love that this is what football is about, bringing
[33:36] Speaker 15: together the youth. You know, you mentioned Liberty City Warriors,
[33:39] Speaker 15: a team you played with. You play for Miami Northwestern
[33:41] Speaker 15: as well. Always think about people who come home, So
[33:44] Speaker 15: I want to ask you this, what's been your favorite
[33:46] Speaker 15: thing about being back home and what's one thing you
[33:49] Speaker 15: got to be careful on now that you're back at
[33:51] Speaker 15: the crib?
[33:52] Speaker 14: Oh man, everything just you know, being around mom every day,
[33:57] Speaker 14: just seeing.
[33:57] Speaker 9: Her every day, just waking up and she being and something.
[34:02] Speaker 9: I'd be careful.
[34:05] Speaker 14: I mean, I'm always doing the season, so but I
[34:07] Speaker 14: mean just I mean, I'm my own person, so I
[34:10] Speaker 14: already see I already see something. I'd be careful, just
[34:13] Speaker 14: you know, just just probably just hanging out and just
[34:16] Speaker 14: you know, just big assistant and staying on top of
[34:18] Speaker 14: what I do.
[34:19] Speaker 9: But the first thing is just you know, just waking
[34:22] Speaker 9: up and seeing mom.
[34:23] Speaker 2: Man.
[34:25] Speaker 1: Yeah, home, home is always going to be home. We
[34:27] Speaker 1: have places that we visit, but you can't beat that too.
[34:29] Speaker 1: So thanks for spending time with us here on the Insiders.
[34:32] Speaker 1: You mentioned being yourself. Glad to see you get this
[34:34] Speaker 1: opportunity there. Good luck to you and the Miami Dolphins
[34:36] Speaker 1: here in twenty twenty six.
[34:37] Speaker 9: I appreciate you and thanks for having me.
[34:41] Speaker 2: Looks like fires it right back at it.
[34:43] Speaker 3: Flight intercepted by Dexter Lawns.
[34:45] Speaker 2: He's running down the left.
[34:46] Speaker 16: Side to the fifteen ten.
[34:48] Speaker 2: Five and he's ducked down at the.
[34:49] Speaker 16: One by Herbert Sexy Dexy Lawrence were his first career interception.
[34:55] Speaker 3: Five twenty remaining in this game runs up five.
[34:58] Speaker 16: Bengals have it first out of the rounds five yard
[35:01] Speaker 16: life Boro shotgun to God, it is Miles Garrett, shack
[35:10] Speaker 16: number twenty three the new single season and Sack King.
[35:17] Speaker 1: Two actual large defensive players big moves in the offseason
[35:21] Speaker 1: as Bridgie Kahn and joining us now on the Insiders
[35:23] Speaker 1: along with myself and Tom Pelisero. The biggest sarrivals this
[35:27] Speaker 1: summer we've had have been the World Cup in Los
[35:30] Speaker 1: Angeles and also Miles Garrett.
[35:31] Speaker 17: Yeah, it's one of those situations where it's the rich
[35:33] Speaker 17: getting richer in terms of Miles Garrett joining the Rams,
[35:37] Speaker 17: because the Rams were already predicted to be one of
[35:39] Speaker 17: the favorites in the NFC. Now they go out and
[35:41] Speaker 17: get two time Defensive Player of the Year in Miles Garrett.
[35:44] Speaker 17: Now they're arguably the favorite to win the Super Bowl.
[35:47] Speaker 17: But make no mistake about it, guys, they needed to
[35:49] Speaker 17: make a move on defense. The defense struggled down the
[35:52] Speaker 17: stretch through the final nine games including the playoffs. They
[35:55] Speaker 17: were giving up twenty seven points per game, so they
[35:57] Speaker 17: needed somebody.
[35:58] Speaker 3: What's interesting really.
[35:59] Speaker 17: About this, though, is their defense has been winning by
[36:02] Speaker 17: committee the past couple of seasons. Only one Rams defender
[36:05] Speaker 17: has reached double digit sacks in a season over the
[36:07] Speaker 17: last four years. So now you bring in Miles Garrett,
[36:10] Speaker 17: the guy who just set a new single season sack
[36:12] Speaker 17: record in the NFL last season. It's that star power
[36:16] Speaker 17: that the Rams defense has been missing really since Aaron
[36:18] Speaker 17: Donald retired. And let's talk about Aaron Donald.
[36:21] Speaker 3: I know there's a lot of rumors is he going
[36:23] Speaker 3: to come back.
[36:23] Speaker 17: He's teasing us with videos working out in the weight room.
[36:26] Speaker 17: People have been contacting his wife saying, let this guy
[36:29] Speaker 17: come out and play again.
[36:31] Speaker 3: If he comes back.
[36:32] Speaker 17: No team in the NFL has ever had two multi
[36:34] Speaker 17: year Defensive Players of the Year on the roster at
[36:37] Speaker 17: the same time. If he comes back, the Rams are
[36:39] Speaker 17: going to be the first team to do so. But
[36:42] Speaker 17: even if he doesn't come back, it's going to be okay.
[36:44] Speaker 17: We might get the best version of Miles Garrett that
[36:46] Speaker 17: we've ever had because the Rams weak side linebacker Byron
[36:50] Speaker 17: Young had twelve sacks last season. Tom Miles Garrett has
[36:53] Speaker 17: never played with a teammate who had double digit sacks,
[36:56] Speaker 17: and that was.
[36:57] Speaker 4: Always part of the issue in Cleveland was figuring out
[36:59] Speaker 4: how do you balance that defensive line. They tried with
[37:02] Speaker 4: various free agent signings in additions through the years, they
[37:05] Speaker 4: never were able to put the thing together and get
[37:06] Speaker 4: where the Rams want to go, which is a Super Bowl.
[37:09] Speaker 4: I would just say this, this is gonna be a
[37:10] Speaker 4: fascinating trade to evaluate two to three years down the line,
[37:13] Speaker 4: because whether it's in twenty twenty seven or twenty twenty eight,
[37:15] Speaker 4: at some point Matthew Stafford is going to pass the
[37:18] Speaker 4: torch to Ty Simpson. There is a real chance that
[37:22] Speaker 4: the Browns, who now own the Rams first round pick
[37:24] Speaker 4: in twenty twenty seven, could use that or bundle picks
[37:27] Speaker 4: to go and get their quarterback of the future, those
[37:30] Speaker 4: two quarterbacks that in terms would be linked.
[37:33] Speaker 3: For years to come. But for the Rams, it all
[37:35] Speaker 3: starts right now.
[37:36] Speaker 4: You don't go in trade for Miles Garrett and give
[37:38] Speaker 4: up Jared Versus, a very good young player in his
[37:40] Speaker 4: own right, plus x year's first round pick plus two
[37:42] Speaker 4: additional high picks if you're not expecting Miles Garrett is
[37:45] Speaker 4: the missing piece to win the Super Bowl right now.
[37:48] Speaker 4: The pressure and the expectations and the outcome for Cleveland's
[37:51] Speaker 4: probably a couple of years down the line.
[37:52] Speaker 3: For the Rams is very much in twenty twenty six.
[37:55] Speaker 1: And it's a you think back to the Rams winning
[37:57] Speaker 1: that Super Bowl in sofar stadium playing against the Cincinnati.
[37:59] Speaker 2: Bengal Hollywood story that had kind.
[38:02] Speaker 1: Of assembled a defense under Louis an Arumo with veterans
[38:05] Speaker 1: and young guys and guys that had a lot of experience.
[38:07] Speaker 1: They just needed talent in Cincinnati, and Dexter Lawrence is
[38:10] Speaker 1: a big part of why they believe.
[38:11] Speaker 17: Now, Yeah, you talk about the Rams wanting to win now, Well,
[38:14] Speaker 17: this move that the Bengals went out and made, it's
[38:16] Speaker 17: not one that we see that front office do many
[38:19] Speaker 17: times or have seen them do many times, and that
[38:22] Speaker 17: is signaling that they believe their championship window is right
[38:25] Speaker 17: now and they're not wrong. Joe Burrow is one of
[38:27] Speaker 17: the best quarterbacks in the league when he is healthy.
[38:30] Speaker 17: That offense, he has proved that he can score with
[38:32] Speaker 17: anybody on the field. It's never been the offense that's
[38:35] Speaker 17: the issue the past couple of seasons. It has been
[38:37] Speaker 17: the Bengals defense that they have been terrible. Now incomes
[38:41] Speaker 17: Dexter Lawrence, who can make a real impact. He's been
[38:44] Speaker 17: double teams more than any defensive tackle the past five
[38:48] Speaker 17: seasons in the league, and he has more pressures than
[38:51] Speaker 17: any other dtackle in that span, he's arguably the most
[38:54] Speaker 17: dominant defensive tackle since Aaron Donald, who were talking about
[38:57] Speaker 17: before retired, and so if he comes then and is
[39:00] Speaker 17: just averaged, this Bengals team automatically is better and they
[39:04] Speaker 17: have a real shot to make it back to the
[39:06] Speaker 17: playoffs for the first time since twenty twenty two. Dexter
[39:09] Speaker 17: Lawrence said before OTA's ended that it is go now time,
[39:13] Speaker 17: even though there's time off between OTA's and training camp.
[39:16] Speaker 17: For him, he said he feels like a boxer getting
[39:18] Speaker 17: ready for a fight, keeping his head down and getting
[39:22] Speaker 17: to work.
[39:23] Speaker 4: There's no secret what the Bengals issues have been. It
[39:25] Speaker 4: has been not being able to play good enough defense
[39:28] Speaker 4: and not being able to keep Joe Burrow healthy. Those
[39:30] Speaker 4: two things are intertwined. Think of how many times, because
[39:34] Speaker 4: of the shootout nature of these games, it's third down
[39:37] Speaker 4: and normally you'd say, Joe, throw the ball away, we'll
[39:39] Speaker 4: punt it, We'll get to the ball back. If they're
[39:41] Speaker 4: punting the ball away, the Bengals a lot of times
[39:42] Speaker 4: work getting the ball back until the other team went
[39:44] Speaker 4: down and scored a touchdown. If you can change how
[39:47] Speaker 4: Joe Burrow can manage the game, if you can take
[39:50] Speaker 4: some of the pressure some of the times where he's
[39:53] Speaker 4: naturally in trouble just based upon the flow of the game.
[39:56] Speaker 4: The hope is that that's going to have a trickle
[39:58] Speaker 4: down effect on everything else. There's finally no contract drama
[40:01] Speaker 4: in and offseason Cincinnati, which we have not been able
[40:04] Speaker 4: to say very often. Joe Burrow's health, competent defense. That's enough, Bridget,
[40:08] Speaker 4: as you said, to get them back into the playoffs.
[40:11] Speaker 4: And hopefully the defense playing better is also going to
[40:13] Speaker 4: lead to Joe Burrow not having to put himself in
[40:15] Speaker 4: harms way quite so much.
[40:16] Speaker 1: One thing both of these trades did is it put
[40:18] Speaker 1: Joe Burrow in a situation where he'll be playing the
[40:20] Speaker 1: Cleveland Browns and the best defensive player might actually be.
[40:24] Speaker 2: On his team.
[40:25] Speaker 1: This time around, Bridget Common, we'll look at some of
[40:27] Speaker 1: the biggest offseason moves that we have had back here
[40:31] Speaker 1: on the Insiger's congratulations to Caleb Wilson, drafted number four
[40:35] Speaker 1: overall in the NBA draft, going to Chicago. The Bears
[40:38] Speaker 1: say Chicago runs on Caleb W's So there's Caleb Wilson
[40:42] Speaker 1: and Caleb Williams. Good luck everybody broadcasting in the city
[40:48] Speaker 1: of brotherly love. And here's a video from Blake McCall.
[40:51] Speaker 1: It has no audio because there's a lot of words
[40:54] Speaker 1: that we can't quite play because somebody got bottle service
[40:58] Speaker 1: in combo for Rams head coach Sean McVay, but it
[41:00] Speaker 1: was forty nine ers theme. He looks around to make
[41:03] Speaker 1: sure that there's no Shanahan's available, and then he's like, oh,
[41:07] Speaker 1: it's you, okay, and he WAPs up everybody involved, Black
[41:12] Speaker 1: black coaches having a fun off season's making up coaches
[41:14] Speaker 1: at all season.
[41:15] Speaker 3: It's Jim Harball at charge of practice, miked up.
[41:20] Speaker 2: It's up Derwick. It's a great day. To make it
[41:21] Speaker 2: a day.
[41:22] Speaker 3: It's make it a great day, baby, have a good day.
[41:24] Speaker 18: Sounds like we're taking it for chance.
[41:27] Speaker 2: Make it a good day. You like to fish?
[41:29] Speaker 18: I love its go fishing like once a year, and
[41:31] Speaker 18: every time I go, I'm like, man, am I glad
[41:34] Speaker 18: I didn't take this up as a hobby. I got
[41:36] Speaker 18: a piece of advice for you. There's other ways to
[41:38] Speaker 18: get fish bio. Go to the store. Keep doing you,
[41:44] Speaker 18: it's working.
[41:45] Speaker 2: You wear that pocket. You've seen a free rusher. What
[41:48] Speaker 2: was your thumbs? Step up?
[41:50] Speaker 18: You give him a little step and then go and
[41:52] Speaker 18: now he's interest when you say picture of the throw.
[41:55] Speaker 18: I never look at the ball in the air, never
[41:56] Speaker 18: looked at any throw until the ball actually came to
[41:59] Speaker 18: the receipt. Follow through with your eyes down, you get
[42:03] Speaker 18: down your highlight day there is again Jenesis Smith am
[42:08] Speaker 18: I Genesis got good ball skills, kind of crazy good
[42:11] Speaker 18: ball skills. Good day, good day coming together, really good day.
[42:15] Speaker 1: A couple of LA coaches there. Selvic Vy never knows
[42:17] Speaker 1: what's gonna happen in Cabo, saying Lucas. Sometimes it's a
[42:20] Speaker 1: fratuitous meeting with a quarterback.
[42:22] Speaker 3: Sometimes it's just getting free drinks.
[42:23] Speaker 4: If this sequencing of those videos made me think of this, Patrick,
[42:26] Speaker 4: which show would you be more likely to watch? NFL
[42:30] Speaker 4: coaches miked up in Cabo or Jim Harbaugh in the
[42:33] Speaker 4: club getting bottle service?
[42:34] Speaker 2: Yeah, just Jim Harball anywhere.
[42:37] Speaker 1: That's what That's what I would like to see Coach
[42:38] Speaker 1: Harball maybe fishing expressing his disdain for it.
[42:42] Speaker 4: Or I had to go down a water slide at
[42:45] Speaker 4: the league meeting because my kids saw Jim Harbaugh going
[42:48] Speaker 4: down first.
[42:48] Speaker 3: Okay, he will do whatever it takes.
[42:51] Speaker 1: Yeah, it's fun. We hope you have fun watching the insiders.
[42:54] Speaker 1: Ya YadA Yabi of the Bucks joined to tomorrow.
[42:56] Speaker 9: And I partner
[43:10] Speaker 11: Name
