[0:07] Speaker 1: Mini camps have bound this week. Hundreds of players, so
[0:10] Speaker 1: many statements from coaches, but what do they all mean?
[0:13] Speaker 1: Our Insiders will break that down today on the show,
[0:16] Speaker 1: and the man affectionately known as Juice Check stops by.
[0:20] Speaker 1: As the Niners contend with the toughest division in football.
[0:22] Speaker 1: Kyle Euschett joins the show and adds an asterisk to
[0:25] Speaker 1: his career accomplishments. And a big part of the youth
[0:28] Speaker 1: movement in Miami is rookie Corner Chris Johnson. He tells
[0:31] Speaker 1: us about the process of learning everything all at once.
[0:34] Speaker 1: In this edition of The Insiders. He everybody, welcome to
[0:37] Speaker 1: the Insiders here on this Friday. Patrick claibound here in
[0:40] Speaker 1: the nfl LA News from along with Tom Pelsero, Ian
[0:43] Speaker 1: Rappaport and Mike Garafolo. These gentlemen, of course journalistic champions
[0:48] Speaker 1: in so many, so many different determinations as we get
[0:50] Speaker 1: into what's new today, championships in terms of rings going
[0:54] Speaker 1: to the Seattle Seahawks call outs to twelves in multiple
[0:59] Speaker 1: locations on the rings, twelve feathers, two buttons that say
[1:02] Speaker 1: twelve is one not included on the ring, shoulder chips.
[1:06] Speaker 1: Leonard Williams applying them this week.
[1:10] Speaker 2: I think I'd be lying if I said there wasn't
[1:11] Speaker 2: a little extra motivation from hearing that type of stuff.
[1:14] Speaker 2: There's a little extra like chips on our shoulder.
[1:17] Speaker 3: You know.
[1:17] Speaker 2: We just came off of a Super Bowl, you know,
[1:22] Speaker 2: winning season, and people are still you know, giving other
[1:24] Speaker 2: people favorites over us. But at the same time, like
[1:27] Speaker 2: I said, it's like, it's always about us, it's about
[1:28] Speaker 2: our process. I think that is still adding fuel to
[1:32] Speaker 2: the fire for guys. But at the same time, we're
[1:33] Speaker 2: going to stick to our process regardless of what other
[1:35] Speaker 2: people outside may think.
[1:37] Speaker 1: So and we've got these Seahawks in the respect rankings
[1:40] Speaker 1: exactly where they need to be. But they're hearing things
[1:42] Speaker 1: that are from places that are not us and don't
[1:44] Speaker 1: like it.
[1:46] Speaker 4: But Leonard Williams is not crazy though it really does seem.
[1:48] Speaker 4: Obviously everyone respects the job that Seattle did, winning the
[1:51] Speaker 4: dominant fashion that they won, but it seems we spent
[1:55] Speaker 4: most of the off season wondering if they can do
[1:57] Speaker 4: it again. While several of their key players include Ken Walker,
[2:01] Speaker 4: these Super Bowl MVP have walked away, while several of
[2:06] Speaker 4: their inter division rivals have loaded up, including most recently
[2:10] Speaker 4: the Los Angeles Rams with Miles Garrett. And yeah, I
[2:13] Speaker 4: mean it does seem like for a team that won
[2:15] Speaker 4: the Super Bowl in about as easy and dominant way
[2:18] Speaker 4: as you can, we have spent all the offseason just
[2:21] Speaker 4: kind of wondering how real it is. Now they are
[2:23] Speaker 4: going to have the opportunity very quickly to beat the
[2:26] Speaker 4: New England Patriots in the opener if that is what happens,
[2:29] Speaker 4: to kind of show us that it is real. But
[2:31] Speaker 4: because things are so challenging in the division, because so
[2:34] Speaker 4: many of the teams they play against twice a year
[2:37] Speaker 4: have spent the entire offseason doing everything they can to
[2:40] Speaker 4: get ready to beat them. In the fact that Seattle's
[2:42] Speaker 4: going to have to counteract that with players who are
[2:44] Speaker 4: young and getting better that maybe we haven't quite heard
[2:47] Speaker 4: of yet. Yeah, they're going to have to keep proving
[2:49] Speaker 4: themselves over and over again.
[2:52] Speaker 5: If you're a Seahawks fan, you want to be optimistic.
[2:54] Speaker 6: One of the reasons is that this front office, led
[2:56] Speaker 6: by GM John Schneider, has been as good at at
[3:00] Speaker 6: keeping the roster and the salary cap healthy. You mentioned
[3:03] Speaker 6: Kenneth Walker, the third he walks for a big deal
[3:05] Speaker 6: with Kansas City slide Enginearian Price is the first round
[3:08] Speaker 6: draft pick. Another great example is boy A Mafey. He's
[3:11] Speaker 6: a contributing, rotational player on last year's team, gets a
[3:15] Speaker 6: monster deal three years, sixty million dollars with the Bengals.
[3:18] Speaker 6: Concredits the Boya and his agent on working out that
[3:21] Speaker 6: type of contract. Some teams would overextend themselves say we
[3:24] Speaker 6: can't lose our guy. The Seahawks not only let him walk,
[3:27] Speaker 6: but they were prepared, They had budget, and they knew
[3:29] Speaker 6: he was probably going to be gone. In his place,
[3:31] Speaker 6: they signed Dante Fowler, the veteran, for two and a
[3:34] Speaker 6: half million up to five million dollars with incentives. All
[3:37] Speaker 6: fairness to boy A mafe followers older, but he's probably.
[3:40] Speaker 5: A better player.
[3:41] Speaker 6: And they're, oh, yeah, the money you save goes toward
[3:44] Speaker 6: retaining Derek Hall.
[3:45] Speaker 5: That's how good teams stay good.
[3:47] Speaker 7: And this team should be good for a Wildlike here's
[3:51] Speaker 7: the team that why let you go Collinsworth crazy? They
[3:54] Speaker 7: feel really good about their talent on the defensive side
[3:57] Speaker 7: of the ball, and the scheme of the defensive side
[3:59] Speaker 7: of the ball, and the scheme is changing, and the
[4:00] Speaker 7: guy that's making the calls. Mike McDonald, there isn't changing.
[4:04] Speaker 7: They feel like that was the part of the game. Look,
[4:07] Speaker 7: I think we look at a team and if there's
[4:09] Speaker 7: offensive fireworks, we say, oh, that was a Super Bowl champion.
[4:12] Speaker 5: They were complete all over football, and.
[4:14] Speaker 7: This was an offense that scored a bunch this year,
[4:16] Speaker 7: But it was more about what they were doing defensively.
[4:18] Speaker 7: And they feel really good about where they are for
[4:21] Speaker 7: the long haul, not only from a talent perspective, but
[4:23] Speaker 7: also from a scheme perspective. That's not going away, that's
[4:26] Speaker 7: not changing. They feel like maybe they didn't get enough
[4:28] Speaker 7: credit for just how good that defense was the entire season.
[4:32] Speaker 5: Now they get a chance to prove that once again
[4:33] Speaker 5: in their title defense.
[4:34] Speaker 1: Yeah, and again, all due respect applot from this program,
[4:38] Speaker 1: Lennard Williams, don't get too upset. We love the Big Cat,
[4:40] Speaker 1: We love the Seahawks. Let's go from the team that
[4:42] Speaker 1: picked last in the first round of the team that
[4:44] Speaker 1: had the number one overall pick, the Las Vegas Raiders.
[4:47] Speaker 1: The dynamic between franchise future quarterback and veteran free agent
[4:51] Speaker 1: always a fun one to watch. Kirk Cousins ask the
[4:54] Speaker 1: question about mentoring this week, and as head coach on
[4:57] Speaker 1: the concept of player mentorship as well.
[5:01] Speaker 6: I think to say I'm mentoring them as a bit
[5:03] Speaker 6: of a reach, probably more of a narrative than it
[5:04] Speaker 6: is the truth and the sense that they're pretty good players.
[5:07] Speaker 8: I would never ask anybody to be a mentor. If
[5:10] Speaker 8: you're on the roster, it's to play and to play
[5:11] Speaker 8: really well for the team. If you watch Kirk play,
[5:14] Speaker 8: you know, his last four games in Atlanta, you know
[5:16] Speaker 8: you saw, you saw what he can do. You know
[5:19] Speaker 8: he's getting healthier. He's played really good football for us
[5:22] Speaker 8: this time of year, and we're counting on him come
[5:25] Speaker 8: the season.
[5:26] Speaker 1: He has that commentary on mentorship itself. Where are we
[5:28] Speaker 1: taking from what the Raiders have to say about their
[5:30] Speaker 1: quarterbacks this week?
[5:32] Speaker 4: It is nice that Kirk Cousins decided to go the
[5:34] Speaker 4: route of honesty and transparency when it comes to the
[5:37] Speaker 4: way most veteran players in the NFL deal with really
[5:41] Speaker 4: good younger players who are coming up and trying to
[5:43] Speaker 4: take their job. This is the reality of life in
[5:46] Speaker 4: the NFL. Also, by the way, happens to the reality
[5:48] Speaker 4: of life in the Raiders quarterback room. It is not
[5:51] Speaker 4: necessarily Kirk Cousin's job to mentor the number one overall
[5:55] Speaker 4: pick for Nanda Mendoza.
[5:57] Speaker 1: Would it be nice? I guess it would be.
[5:58] Speaker 4: But also he has coaches that are actually going to
[6:01] Speaker 4: be doing the mentoring. What the Raiders want is for
[6:04] Speaker 4: Kirk Cousins to go out there and do everything he
[6:07] Speaker 4: possibly can to make sure that Fernanda Mendoza does not
[6:10] Speaker 4: see the field. For Kirk Cousins to play as well
[6:13] Speaker 4: as he possibly can, to stay healthy, to give them
[6:16] Speaker 4: a chance to win, and allow Mendoza the time necessary
[6:20] Speaker 4: for him to you know, ripen or whatever you want
[6:22] Speaker 4: to say, and get a chance to go out there
[6:24] Speaker 4: when he is ready to play. It is okay if
[6:27] Speaker 4: they are not best friends. It is okay if the
[6:30] Speaker 4: coaches do the mentorship, not the players. None of this
[6:33] Speaker 4: is Kirk Cousin's job, and I appreciate that he decided
[6:37] Speaker 4: to tell us this so we don't talk about phony narratives,
[6:39] Speaker 4: talk about real stuff, which is that Cousins right now
[6:43] Speaker 4: gives the Raiders the best chance to win.
[6:45] Speaker 1: Of course, he has some experience in the matter, having
[6:47] Speaker 1: recently been signed as a free agent. The team drafts
[6:49] Speaker 1: a first round pike at quarterback, Kirk Cousins has done
[6:53] Speaker 1: this all before. Let's go to the Jacksonville Jaguars. They
[6:56] Speaker 1: were at work this week in mini camp down and
[6:59] Speaker 1: do Vall. Several top players in attendance, including Travis Hunter,
[7:02] Speaker 1: but not yet practicing.
[7:05] Speaker 5: His head coach Liam Cohen letting us know how he's doing.
[7:09] Speaker 9: Travis, I know he ran twenty two to six this
[7:13] Speaker 9: morning outside of outside here, and you know he was
[7:19] Speaker 9: talking a lot of smack to Chris Bach and the
[7:22] Speaker 9: athletic trainers and I.
[7:23] Speaker 10: Mean, he just he's worked this tailoff.
[7:25] Speaker 9: I got to give a lot of credit to our
[7:28] Speaker 9: strength staff, athletic training, sports science. They've just kept him
[7:33] Speaker 9: not motivated, because he motivates himself, but they've kept it
[7:37] Speaker 9: creative for him. The drills, the way that they're pushing
[7:40] Speaker 9: him and challenging him, and then he goes into the
[7:44] Speaker 9: video room with each side of ball and then he's
[7:47] Speaker 9: able to get a ton of reps in there. So yeah,
[7:51] Speaker 9: watching him run around this morning hit twenty two to
[7:53] Speaker 9: six was pretty fun to watch.
[7:55] Speaker 1: They're glad to have him back. We hope to see
[7:57] Speaker 1: him back at some point Tom. We also hope to
[8:00] Speaker 1: learn what he's going to do.
[8:03] Speaker 6: That's right, Patrick. Of course, the rare both sides player.
[8:07] Speaker 6: There's been a lot of debate about exactly how they
[8:09] Speaker 6: should go about that because they're in unprecedented type of
[8:12] Speaker 6: a territory here coming out of a significant injury. It
[8:14] Speaker 6: was also notable that Liam Cohen said earlier this week
[8:17] Speaker 6: they don't know when exactly he will be full go
[8:20] Speaker 6: keep an eye on the reps for the course of
[8:22] Speaker 6: the preseason, not just in terms of how many he gets,
[8:25] Speaker 6: but where they are. It was not lost on some
[8:28] Speaker 6: observers this week that while Travis Hunter was not practicing,
[8:30] Speaker 6: he was wearing the teal jersey every day at practice.
[8:34] Speaker 6: The teal jersey is what the offensive players wear. Could
[8:37] Speaker 6: we potentially see a little bit more of him there
[8:39] Speaker 6: than people are anticipating, one of many things to watch
[8:41] Speaker 6: in Jaguars camp.
[8:42] Speaker 1: Yeah, so much to try to figure out where a
[8:45] Speaker 1: lot of these same questions we're asking before he first
[8:47] Speaker 1: stepped on the field still having them, of course, through
[8:49] Speaker 1: that very unfortunate injury. Thanks Tom checking in on the
[8:52] Speaker 1: Jacksonville Jaguars. Let's go to Philadelphia the Eagles. They got
[8:57] Speaker 1: some help in corner. They added Reek Woolen with all
[9:01] Speaker 1: the changes the defense deal with a lot of them
[9:03] Speaker 1: as well as we're bringing Mike Garrey fourlo. There was
[9:05] Speaker 1: the departure of Red Blanket Ship, discussion of position changes
[9:09] Speaker 1: for some other pieces, and then questions about the contract
[9:12] Speaker 1: potentially for Jalen Carter. Where are we there?
[9:15] Speaker 7: You saw Jordan Davis there in those short clips that
[9:18] Speaker 7: we just showed, got paid this offseason at twenty six
[9:20] Speaker 7: million dollars per year. Jalen Carter kind of looking over saying,
[9:24] Speaker 7: all right, where's mine my turn. There was some trade
[9:28] Speaker 7: talk or speculation this offseason. From my understanding, what I
[9:31] Speaker 7: was told was the Eagles were not going to trade
[9:33] Speaker 7: Jalen Carter and that they were committed to extending him
[9:36] Speaker 7: as well. Carter's probably saying, yeah, I want to be
[9:39] Speaker 7: above that. I want to be at the top of
[9:40] Speaker 7: the market, which is into the thirties. If you go
[9:44] Speaker 7: with Chris Jones's deal with the Kansas City Chiefs, there
[9:48] Speaker 7: is the block that the two combined on. So you
[9:51] Speaker 7: want to make sure that you get both of those guys, happy, paid,
[9:54] Speaker 7: and ready to go by week one. The question is
[9:56] Speaker 7: if it's not done for Carter by the start of training,
[9:57] Speaker 7: get Willie practice hasn't been, but he's also rehabbing from
[10:01] Speaker 7: the shoulder injuries and shoulder surgeries that he had, which
[10:04] Speaker 7: gives him a little bit of cover there, doesn't help
[10:06] Speaker 7: the vic Bangio said that his shoulders were fine a
[10:08] Speaker 7: couple of weeks ago.
[10:09] Speaker 5: So we'll see how this goes. Be a holding situation,
[10:12] Speaker 5: perhaps we'll see maybe the deal gets done before that.
[10:14] Speaker 5: Eagles are trying.
[10:15] Speaker 1: Yeah, we've seen Howry Roseman get these things done a
[10:17] Speaker 1: little ahead of schedule in the past. We'll see how
[10:19] Speaker 1: that goes, and we'll hear more from our insiders as
[10:21] Speaker 1: we continue on this edition of The Insiders here on
[10:24] Speaker 1: NFL Network. A little bit of news this coming courtesy
[10:26] Speaker 1: of I in the NFL let Stefan Diggs know that
[10:29] Speaker 1: the investigation into any personal conduct policy has come to
[10:33] Speaker 1: a close. He was a found not guilty by a
[10:36] Speaker 1: jury about a month ago in Massachusetts. And Broncos linebacker
[10:42] Speaker 1: Jonathan Cooper arrested for the second time this week. Police
[10:46] Speaker 1: said they arrested the Edge for a violation of a
[10:49] Speaker 1: protection order stemming from a previous arrest, including charges of
[10:53] Speaker 1: assault on his girlfriend. One re return on The Insiders,
[11:00] Speaker 1: Baker Mayfield not has it. He doesn't have a deal
[11:03] Speaker 1: yet why his head coach says he's not too concerned
[11:06] Speaker 1: about that just yet. And one of the best, if
[11:10] Speaker 1: not the best, fullback in the NFL, joins the show.
[11:14] Speaker 1: Kyle Yuschek is standing by why he might be lobbying
[11:17] Speaker 1: for some retroactive All Pro votes coming up next on
[11:21] Speaker 1: The Insiders.
[11:33] Speaker 11: You feel about it around.
[11:49] Speaker 12: Next seventy one yarder to open it up. Now you're loose.
[11:59] Speaker 12: We got some horses in the stable.
[12:01] Speaker 13: Now come, buddy, Hey, we got some dogs in that kendle.
[12:10] Speaker 7: Horses in the stable, dogs in the kennel. Ten pro
[12:14] Speaker 7: balls on the wall on the mantle. Two all pros.
[12:18] Speaker 7: Gotta get that number up still some time for Kyle
[12:20] Speaker 7: use check over the course of his career, most pro
[12:23] Speaker 7: balls read the fine print, ladies and gentlemen, Most Pro
[12:26] Speaker 7: Bowls by a fullback all time, and at.
[12:29] Speaker 5: Least his second appearance on The Insiders.
[12:31] Speaker 7: Kyle, you check joining us right now here on the program.
[12:35] Speaker 7: If you need to spell it, it's right down there
[12:37] Speaker 7: at the bottom. Uh not on the tail end of
[12:40] Speaker 7: Mini Camp. Kyle Shanahan canceling Mini Camp as a veteran
[12:44] Speaker 7: at this point in your career.
[12:45] Speaker 5: Your reaction to that is what, man.
[12:48] Speaker 13: I love it. For me, that's fantastic. I don't need
[12:53] Speaker 13: mini camp anymore. But I think he had a good reason.
[12:57] Speaker 3: Man.
[12:57] Speaker 13: I think the team is in a really good position.
[13:00] Speaker 13: Guys are healthy, the young guys have done a really
[13:02] Speaker 13: good job since they've been there, and I just think
[13:05] Speaker 13: we're in a good spot. And I just don't think
[13:07] Speaker 13: we needed it right now.
[13:10] Speaker 4: You know, a lot of teams are kind of going
[13:12] Speaker 4: through it right now, like you mentioned, And you know,
[13:14] Speaker 4: there's been some fireworks this offseason in a way that
[13:16] Speaker 4: we don't often see. Obviously, we know the rams required
[13:20] Speaker 4: Miles Garrett, A couple other interesting moves have happened.
[13:23] Speaker 1: You know, in a generally sleepy June month.
[13:26] Speaker 4: You guys made your fireworks early with the addition of
[13:29] Speaker 4: Mike Evans and others. You got to see Mike Evans
[13:33] Speaker 4: some of the other new editions this spring.
[13:35] Speaker 13: What did you think, man, Mike has been so impressive,
[13:40] Speaker 13: and that's I feel like that's saying so much because
[13:44] Speaker 13: we were expecting so much. You know, this is a guy,
[13:47] Speaker 13: you know, we all say he's a bona fide Hall
[13:49] Speaker 13: of Famer. What was in nine or ten eleven straight
[13:52] Speaker 13: thousand yard seasons, so like, your expectations are already high,
[13:57] Speaker 13: and I feel like he's already exceeded that. He has
[14:00] Speaker 13: been unguardable at practice. Red zone has been an absolute problem,
[14:05] Speaker 13: and what a great guy, Like, what a great teammate.
[14:08] Speaker 10: I think everyone has already.
[14:10] Speaker 13: Enjoyed his presence so much, and I think he's going
[14:14] Speaker 13: to be an incredible leader for that room. And it's
[14:17] Speaker 13: hard to imagine a better edition than Mike has been
[14:19] Speaker 13: so far.
[14:21] Speaker 7: That's awesome. Love Mike, love watching Michael, love covering Mike.
[14:24] Speaker 7: Excited to see him with the forty nine ers in
[14:26] Speaker 7: that new uniform.
[14:27] Speaker 5: Look.
[14:28] Speaker 10: Kyle, you know, alluded to it.
[14:29] Speaker 7: Let's get right into it here with the rams and
[14:32] Speaker 7: the headlines that they're getting for the move that they
[14:34] Speaker 7: made there for Miles Garrett.
[14:35] Speaker 5: What they've done something.
[14:37] Speaker 7: I don't know if it's a bulletin board or if
[14:39] Speaker 7: it's a smart board these days, but he got the
[14:43] Speaker 7: Super Bowl champs in your division, and you got the
[14:45] Speaker 7: offseason champs in your division. It's got to be there
[14:49] Speaker 7: and being talked about, like, hey, ladies and gentlemen, don't
[14:51] Speaker 7: forget about.
[14:51] Speaker 13: Us, right, Yeah, absolutely, I mean we're not. There's no
[14:55] Speaker 13: easy games here out in the NFC WES for sure,
[14:58] Speaker 13: But we feel great about where teams at the fact
[15:01] Speaker 13: that we won thirteen games last season with all that
[15:03] Speaker 13: we had to deal with, I think, you know, that's
[15:06] Speaker 13: easy to forget and rightfully so. You know, the Seahawks,
[15:09] Speaker 13: they won a Super Bowl. The Rams had a great season,
[15:12] Speaker 13: and they've had some great additions in the offseason, so
[15:15] Speaker 13: I can understand why that is the case.
[15:17] Speaker 10: But I think we feel great about where we're at.
[15:20] Speaker 5: Man.
[15:20] Speaker 10: I love our squad. I think that we have only improved.
[15:25] Speaker 10: Guys are getting healthy.
[15:26] Speaker 13: You know, we had to Mike Evans and Osa on defense,
[15:29] Speaker 13: which I think both of those guys are just going
[15:31] Speaker 13: to make such an impact.
[15:33] Speaker 10: And I think we're sitting in a good spot.
[15:35] Speaker 1: Man.
[15:36] Speaker 13: If people want to forget about us, that's that's fantastic.
[15:38] Speaker 13: That's a good place to be.
[15:40] Speaker 4: Sometimes, you know, it is possible when you guys start
[15:44] Speaker 4: the twenty twenty six season, you will not be at
[15:45] Speaker 4: full strength. Status of George Kittle very much up in
[15:48] Speaker 4: the air, obviously working his way back from a torn
[15:50] Speaker 4: achilles That is your.
[15:52] Speaker 1: Partner in crime.
[15:53] Speaker 4: I know you want him healthy, but I also know
[15:56] Speaker 4: you want him back. How is he and how do
[15:58] Speaker 4: you kind of handle that part of watching your buddy
[16:02] Speaker 4: rehab and you know, wanting him back but also wanting
[16:04] Speaker 4: him to be one hundred percent.
[16:06] Speaker 10: Yeah, yeah, for sure.
[16:07] Speaker 13: I mean George looks great, you know, as he mentioned,
[16:11] Speaker 13: you know, somewhere a couple of days ago, like he
[16:13] Speaker 13: really is ahead of schedule. He was impressive just last
[16:17] Speaker 13: week seeing him running you know, zig zags, like making
[16:21] Speaker 13: cuts actually like hitting like sixteen miles per hour or
[16:25] Speaker 13: something like that.
[16:27] Speaker 10: I've been super impressed.
[16:28] Speaker 13: And you know, he's got another two months or so
[16:31] Speaker 13: to get even better, and you know, it's it's been
[16:35] Speaker 13: it's been enjoyable to watch him go through this process
[16:38] Speaker 13: because he attacks it as such a professional. He makes
[16:43] Speaker 13: it a point to no matter what we're doing, you know,
[16:46] Speaker 13: whether even when we're down in Cabo and we're celebrating
[16:48] Speaker 13: McCaffrey's birthday and we're golfing like that, guy finds the
[16:52] Speaker 13: time to rehab, whether it's early in the morning, late.
[16:54] Speaker 10: At night like that.
[16:55] Speaker 13: He's always always grinding, it's always on the back of
[16:58] Speaker 13: his mind. And I really do think he's gonna, you know,
[17:01] Speaker 13: beat some expected timetables and when he does come back,
[17:05] Speaker 13: whenever that is, I think he's going to come out
[17:08] Speaker 13: there and be the George Kittle that we all know.
[17:09] Speaker 5: In love.
[17:11] Speaker 7: Ian talked about how tight you are with George. Your
[17:14] Speaker 7: wive's tight as well. I got to see a mannequin
[17:16] Speaker 7: over your right shoulder. We got a couple of looks
[17:18] Speaker 7: in the background. Are you in Kristen's sewing room right there?
[17:21] Speaker 7: How upside are you for what she's been able to do?
[17:24] Speaker 10: Yep?
[17:24] Speaker 13: I'm in my wife's office right now, and I'm I'm
[17:27] Speaker 13: so excited about what Kristin has built. And you know,
[17:31] Speaker 13: she just named the Times one hundred most Influential People
[17:34] Speaker 13: in Sports for twenty twenty six, which, oh my gosh,
[17:38] Speaker 13: you know, just a few years ago that would be
[17:41] Speaker 13: just such a crazy notion, you know, like she wasn't,
[17:44] Speaker 13: you know, didn't grow up as a sports girl. But
[17:46] Speaker 13: she has made it her own and I'm so proud
[17:49] Speaker 13: of everything that she's built. And off Season has been
[17:52] Speaker 13: such a success, and it's continuing to build and build
[17:56] Speaker 13: and build. So hey, offseasonbrand dot com people go check.
[17:59] Speaker 5: It out there.
[18:01] Speaker 4: You go, good husband, Kyle, great job. We came into
[18:05] Speaker 4: this talking about your ten probos. You're all pros, You're
[18:08] Speaker 4: thirty five years old. You have played certainly far longer
[18:11] Speaker 4: than many have at your position, though you've always been
[18:15] Speaker 4: a little bit of an anomaly at the fullback position.
[18:18] Speaker 4: Considering what you've accomplished, considering that you were still playing
[18:21] Speaker 4: at a very high level, how is your offseason going personally?
[18:25] Speaker 10: And then how long do you want to keep doing this?
[18:28] Speaker 10: Great great questions?
[18:30] Speaker 13: And hey, in my defense on that opening about you know,
[18:33] Speaker 13: the only two All pros. About eleven years of my career,
[18:36] Speaker 13: there was no All Pro for a fullback, Okay, so.
[18:40] Speaker 10: Take it easy on that.
[18:42] Speaker 13: God man, I just I feel so good and I'm
[18:46] Speaker 13: still having so much fun.
[18:48] Speaker 10: I'm in zero pain whatsoever.
[18:50] Speaker 13: And like you said, I feel like I'm still playing
[18:52] Speaker 13: at such a high level. So I want to just
[18:55] Speaker 13: continue to do to this thing as long as I
[18:56] Speaker 13: possibly can. It's been such a great offseason, like OTAs,
[19:01] Speaker 13: We're so enjoyable, and I still feel like I'm growing.
[19:03] Speaker 13: Like I spent this whole, this whole offseason and during
[19:08] Speaker 13: OTAs and all that meeting with the tight ends, practicing
[19:11] Speaker 13: with the tight ends to just kind of continue to
[19:14] Speaker 13: build and continue to grow. Uh, and I still feel
[19:18] Speaker 13: like I'm doing that even at thirty five years old.
[19:20] Speaker 13: So I haven't put a number on when I want
[19:22] Speaker 13: to end. But as it stands right now, I'm just
[19:25] Speaker 13: going to keep going to the wheels fall off. So
[19:29] Speaker 13: here's that nowhere soon by the way, Uh, here's.
[19:32] Speaker 5: What we're gonna do.
[19:32] Speaker 7: You know how like Sachs was an official stat and
[19:35] Speaker 7: they kind of went back and added some numbers. For God,
[19:38] Speaker 7: we're going to do that for you for all pros.
[19:41] Speaker 7: Do we want to eat greedy? Like, I'll put the
[19:42] Speaker 7: number in about eight. What do you think should be
[19:44] Speaker 7: going all the way to ten?
[19:45] Speaker 13: Well, shoot, you know, there's there was there was a
[19:49] Speaker 13: couple of years where I was still making, you know,
[19:50] Speaker 13: making my name in there.
[19:51] Speaker 10: So I'll take eight. I think eight is fair.
[19:53] Speaker 5: Okay, there it is.
[19:55] Speaker 7: Eight time all pro period back Kyle us Check put
[19:59] Speaker 7: the the asterix there.
[20:00] Speaker 5: Fine, Well, we've got no problem doing that.
[20:02] Speaker 7: But that's the number that he deserves, and he deserves
[20:05] Speaker 7: all the time on the insiders that he gets. We
[20:06] Speaker 7: appreciate you, dude, Get some rest. You and Christen go
[20:09] Speaker 7: someplace nice and warm and fancy. Enjoy the next couple weeks.
[20:12] Speaker 7: We'll see in training camps soon enough. All right, thanks guys,
[20:15] Speaker 7: good talking to you.
[20:16] Speaker 1: Thank you.
[20:16] Speaker 14: Mary.
[20:18] Speaker 1: Back here on the Insiders. There's on's to do today.
[20:20] Speaker 1: Coming into the nfl LA newsroom. Start with Stefan Diggs.
[20:24] Speaker 1: The NFL closed its potential excuse me its personal conduct
[20:27] Speaker 1: review on Stefan Diggs. Comes a month after he was
[20:30] Speaker 1: found not guilty by Massachusetts jury. Diggs was released by
[20:33] Speaker 1: the Patriots in March after leading the team in receiving
[20:38] Speaker 1: and Broncos Edge police say they've arrested broncos Edge Jonathan
[20:42] Speaker 1: Cooper for a violation of a protection order, stimming from
[20:44] Speaker 1: a previous arrest that came earlier this week, including charges
[20:48] Speaker 1: of assault on his girlfriend. The Sip Bowl champions got
[20:52] Speaker 1: their rings. The rings featuring two Lombardi Trophies for the
[20:56] Speaker 1: franchise's two titles, fifty diamonds for the team winning it's
[21:00] Speaker 1: fiftieth year. One side has the player's name and number
[21:03] Speaker 1: and MOB, which is short for last year's slogan Mission
[21:08] Speaker 1: over bs. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers at mini camp this
[21:13] Speaker 1: week had to start and to stop due to a
[21:15] Speaker 1: violation of league rules with players on the ground, So
[21:19] Speaker 1: they did lose a day there. Question is in the future,
[21:22] Speaker 1: will they lose their quarterback? No contract agreement between Baker
[21:25] Speaker 1: Mayfield and the Bucks. Todd Bowles was asked whether or
[21:28] Speaker 1: not he was disappointed that Baker had not yet gotten
[21:31] Speaker 1: a contract extension.
[21:34] Speaker 15: Thinker is a true pro. I don't think there's any
[21:36] Speaker 15: disappointment whatsoever. I mean, he loves it here, We love
[21:39] Speaker 15: him here. The contract stuff takes care of himself, whether
[21:42] Speaker 15: it's the quarterback or any other position that comes up.
[21:45] Speaker 15: You know, those things get worked out over time. You
[21:47] Speaker 15: just concentrate on what we got to concentrate on on
[21:49] Speaker 15: the field. And he's been great right there.
[21:51] Speaker 1: There's no question here mine at least that you want
[21:53] Speaker 1: him to.
[21:54] Speaker 3: Be a quarterback going forward.
[21:56] Speaker 1: Absolutely no question. So the head coach in says, there's
[22:00] Speaker 1: no question there. He wants them there. He says, these
[22:03] Speaker 1: things work themselves out. How are they working to work
[22:05] Speaker 1: it out now?
[22:08] Speaker 4: Well, first of all, this does seem to have to
[22:09] Speaker 4: work out before training camp, the deadline set by Baker Mayfield.
[22:13] Speaker 4: But you're right, the most important thing here is that
[22:15] Speaker 4: both sides want to move forward together. Baker Mayfield wants
[22:18] Speaker 4: to be the starting quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
[22:20] Speaker 4: for the foreseeable future, and Bucks brass including Todd Bowles,
[22:23] Speaker 4: including gentle manager Jason.
[22:25] Speaker 1: Light want that as well.
[22:26] Speaker 4: It's really just as they set a new contract floor.
[22:30] Speaker 4: Basically for Baker Mayfield, he's been in the thirties. We
[22:33] Speaker 4: have now the market changing over the couple of years
[22:35] Speaker 4: since he signed his deal. Daniel Jones at forty four
[22:39] Speaker 4: or so, perhaps that's where the Bucks want this to end.
[22:42] Speaker 4: And then you have several quarterbacks from Josh Allen, Jordan Love, Trevor, Lawrence, Brock, Purdy, Herbert,
[22:49] Speaker 4: all of them in the fifties would make more of
[22:51] Speaker 4: a would make sense for that where Baker wants to land.
[22:55] Speaker 4: We will see if they're able to find some sort
[22:57] Speaker 4: of middle ground before training camp.
[23:00] Speaker 1: An example of how things can change over time as
[23:03] Speaker 1: we go to one of Baker Mayfield's former teams, the
[23:05] Speaker 1: Carolina Panthers, where things were a lot different for Baker
[23:08] Speaker 1: back then. The Panthers coming to terms on an agreement
[23:11] Speaker 1: with Jalen Cocher this week. A three year deal could
[23:14] Speaker 1: be worth thirty five million dollars, could go north of
[23:17] Speaker 1: forty if all the incentives are hit. Panthers head coach
[23:20] Speaker 1: Dave Canallis on guys getting their money maybe ahead of schedule.
[23:25] Speaker 16: We're all on the same page with trying to identify
[23:28] Speaker 16: guys that are Panther football players. And yes, a huge
[23:32] Speaker 16: component of that is the production on the field, and
[23:35] Speaker 16: first and foremost right, that's how the market is set
[23:37] Speaker 16: across the league. But beyond that, we want guys to
[23:42] Speaker 16: be here long term that embody what we're looking for
[23:45] Speaker 16: in terms of play style, character on and off the field.
[23:49] Speaker 16: Guys that are great teammates, Guys that take personal accountability
[23:54] Speaker 16: and responsibility for their job and are always prepared and
[23:58] Speaker 16: show up with that type of work, mentality in mindset
[24:00] Speaker 16: and the way that they practice, how hard they practice.
[24:03] Speaker 16: The guys that find their way to be available because
[24:06] Speaker 16: they take care of themselves. So we factor all those
[24:09] Speaker 16: things in, but like for the long term commitment, it's
[24:12] Speaker 16: got to be guys that we believe embody what we're
[24:14] Speaker 16: trying to build here and what we're trying to maintain
[24:17] Speaker 16: and establish as a cultural identity.
[24:21] Speaker 1: And they certainly established that belief for all of us
[24:24] Speaker 1: to see by Son and Jalen Coker this week.
[24:26] Speaker 7: One if you think Jalen Cocher's contract extension is big news.
[24:30] Speaker 5: How about this news He'll be joining the Insiders next
[24:32] Speaker 5: week Kayla Cocher.
[24:33] Speaker 7: To talk about that deal three years, thirty five million
[24:36] Speaker 7: that Ian reported on Thursday evening. This Panthers team, look,
[24:41] Speaker 7: there's talent here. There's talent at the receiver position now,
[24:45] Speaker 7: with Cocher clearly locking himself in as the number two
[24:48] Speaker 7: wide receiver on this team, ahead of Xavier le Get
[24:51] Speaker 7: whose career hasn't been quite what they hoped to this point.
[24:54] Speaker 7: There's a lot of change on the offensive line. Iky
[24:57] Speaker 7: Akuano is suffering that devastating knee injury. They do expect
[25:01] Speaker 7: that he will play this upcoming season, but there's a
[25:03] Speaker 7: lot of change there. And then Jonathan Brooks coming back
[25:05] Speaker 7: at the running back position after missing all of last year.
[25:07] Speaker 7: So this is a boomer Bus type offense. And I
[25:10] Speaker 7: know that Dave Canews feels really good about the talent
[25:12] Speaker 7: that he has across the board.
[25:14] Speaker 5: What are you gonna get from the quarterback? Right?
[25:17] Speaker 7: That's another reason that it's gonna be a little bit
[25:19] Speaker 7: up and down in a lot of people's minds.
[25:21] Speaker 5: We shall see, but there's enough here to work with.
[25:23] Speaker 1: Him.
[25:23] Speaker 5: We've seen Bryce Young play well in Spurts.
[25:25] Speaker 7: Fascinated to see the Panthers offense this upcoming season, including.
[25:28] Speaker 1: In that last loss where they came pretty close to
[25:31] Speaker 1: knocking off the Los Angeles Rams team they beat a
[25:33] Speaker 1: couple of weeks before that. They're at Bank of America Stadium.
[25:36] Speaker 1: Thanks Mike. We'll go to the Minnesota Vikings where the
[25:39] Speaker 1: quarterback battle between j J McCarthy and Kyler Murray will
[25:41] Speaker 1: be decided by Kevin O'Connell, but a guy who's definitely
[25:44] Speaker 1: invested in the outcome. Two time All Pro Justin Jefferson,
[25:47] Speaker 1: who spoke about the offense this week.
[25:51] Speaker 17: Growth is the I would say the key word is
[25:55] Speaker 17: and obviously, you know, having a new quarterback in ky Larry,
[25:59] Speaker 17: just trying to work with him, building that connection with him,
[26:01] Speaker 17: obviously working with JJ and seeing the impact and the
[26:06] Speaker 17: growth and the improvements that he has made is definitely tremendous.
[26:10] Speaker 17: So I'm seeing great work throughout everybody in this whole
[26:14] Speaker 17: entire training camp. I'm really glad to see everybody here
[26:17] Speaker 17: and working as a team and building that team camaraderie early.
[26:20] Speaker 17: So it's just great to see everybody. Great to get
[26:23] Speaker 17: in that work again and obviously carrying on this throughout
[26:27] Speaker 17: the summer.
[26:29] Speaker 1: Tom Pellisero now with us. That was five. Everybody's from
[26:32] Speaker 1: Justin Jefferson. He's not new to this. He's a pro.
[26:34] Speaker 1: Tom mentions both quarterbacks by name as well.
[26:39] Speaker 6: Kevin O'Connell has been very intentional patrick throughout the spring
[26:42] Speaker 6: of splitting everything down the middle fifty to fifty. He
[26:45] Speaker 6: wants to make sure that both of these guys, Kyler
[26:47] Speaker 6: Murray and JJ McCarthy get a fair shake.
[26:49] Speaker 5: And the fact that you have Justin Jefferson.
[26:51] Speaker 6: Saying he'll work out with both quarterbacks during the break
[26:54] Speaker 6: before training camp indicates even the most important player on
[26:56] Speaker 6: the team doesn't ultimately know where this goes.
[27:00] Speaker 5: Say this. O'Connell is not going to say anything publicly, but.
[27:03] Speaker 6: I have to imagine coming out of the spring in
[27:05] Speaker 6: mini caamp he's got a pretty good idea of what
[27:08] Speaker 6: direction this goes. I do not anticipate it's going to
[27:12] Speaker 6: take the entire preseason three games to sort it out
[27:15] Speaker 6: at some point, especially if it's Kyler who's new to
[27:17] Speaker 6: the system. You need the time on task and the
[27:20] Speaker 6: reps to get the rhythm and timing. N tempo that
[27:23] Speaker 6: makes NFL passing offenses go. But clearly they want to
[27:26] Speaker 6: at least take this into training camp and see if
[27:29] Speaker 6: this goes the direction that people believe it's going to
[27:31] Speaker 6: head it into camps.
[27:33] Speaker 1: A lot to look forward to in Minneapolis where the Vikings,
[27:37] Speaker 1: we'll have somebody starting a quarterback. We'll have to wait
[27:40] Speaker 1: and see Jared Golf there. We know he's going to
[27:42] Speaker 1: be there. Jamior Gibbs and this Lions offense. The Lions
[27:46] Speaker 1: have their mandatory mini camp coming up next week. After
[27:50] Speaker 1: some injuries, maybe some fall off in play. Dan Campbell
[27:54] Speaker 1: looking forward to what's going to be a new defensive
[27:56] Speaker 1: line in Detroit.
[27:59] Speaker 3: You know, want them look good, you know, Hutch, Look,
[28:03] Speaker 3: look we got some length.
[28:04] Speaker 15: Now.
[28:05] Speaker 3: Let me let me just step back for a minute.
[28:07] Speaker 3: I like where Wanham's at. You know, he was coming
[28:09] Speaker 3: off that injury all that and had missed a day
[28:12] Speaker 3: with us, been putting into work and so he's doing
[28:16] Speaker 3: a good job in the spring. But man, we we've
[28:18] Speaker 3: we've got some guys now, you know, between wantam and
[28:22] Speaker 3: and Turner and uh this pup Lucas. Uh obviously more
[28:29] Speaker 3: like we got some length now, we got some size
[28:31] Speaker 3: and length and athletic ability on the perimeter. You know,
[28:34] Speaker 3: Lacey is that, but he's a little bit more of
[28:36] Speaker 3: that big end, big stacked. But we're we are big,
[28:40] Speaker 3: we are long, and so you can't wait for training camp,
[28:43] Speaker 3: you know, that's that's you just can't wait. But these
[28:46] Speaker 3: guys are case. He's doing a good job with him
[28:49] Speaker 3: and they all kind of have their own little niche,
[28:52] Speaker 3: their own neck there. Uh, And just to watch them
[28:55] Speaker 3: fundamentally get a little bit better and work their craft
[28:58] Speaker 3: and then we'll see what camp looks like. You know,
[29:01] Speaker 3: it'll be good.
[29:02] Speaker 1: Let's delve into the lines a little bit more now
[29:04] Speaker 1: with Jeffrey Shia joining us on the Insiders. Good evening
[29:06] Speaker 1: to you, Jeff, as we kind of try to see
[29:09] Speaker 1: what has been a years long goal to find a
[29:12] Speaker 1: complimentary pass rusher to work with Aiden Hutchinson. How are
[29:16] Speaker 1: the Lions doing in that now?
[29:17] Speaker 18: Yeah, it feels like a career long goal with the
[29:19] Speaker 18: lines as far as trying to find help for him.
[29:21] Speaker 18: And look at some of the names that Dan Campbell
[29:24] Speaker 18: was mentioning, there are some really big guys he talked
[29:26] Speaker 18: about winning length.
[29:28] Speaker 5: DJ Wantum, a free agent who showed up his six'.
[29:30] Speaker 18: Five you look At anthony And lucas an undrafted free,
[29:33] Speaker 18: agent he's sixty. Six Peyton turner is a free agent
[29:36] Speaker 18: signee he's six six and, eight And hudgerson at sixty.
[29:39] Speaker 1: Seven a lot of size and versatility.
[29:41] Speaker 18: There what they want to have is an improved pass,
[29:43] Speaker 18: rush but also players who can defend the.
[29:45] Speaker 1: Run this is a team that was fifth.
[29:47] Speaker 18: And sacks last year and sixth and, pressures but took
[29:49] Speaker 18: way too long to get to the. Quarterback so getting
[29:51] Speaker 18: better and that end of the the defensive line is
[29:54] Speaker 18: a huge impetus for this.
[29:55] Speaker 1: Team let's go over to The Denver. Broncos now we
[29:58] Speaker 1: have a pretty good pass rush their. Own they got
[30:01] Speaker 1: some good injury recovery news this. Week they expect Bow
[30:04] Speaker 1: nicks coming off of that after the playoff win against
[30:09] Speaker 1: The Buffalo bill's ankle. Surgery they expect him to participate
[30:12] Speaker 1: in mini camp this. Week Sean payton asked this week
[30:15] Speaker 1: if they think his mobility will be hindered recovering from that.
[30:19] Speaker 1: Injury he's going to be like.
[30:24] Speaker 14: Completely clean mobility, Wise AND i understand the. Question but
[30:29] Speaker 14: he's out here like today going through two minute reps
[30:32] Speaker 14: walk through reps there won't. BE i, mean he's, young
[30:36] Speaker 14: and one of his great assets is his ability to
[30:39] Speaker 14: avoid sex and escape from the, pocket AND i don't
[30:42] Speaker 14: think you'll see that hindered at.
[30:44] Speaker 1: All, So, jeff they have a healthy Bow knicks who
[30:50] Speaker 1: is very creative back there in the. Pocket he had
[30:52] Speaker 1: options last. Year he's got even more options at. Receiver
[30:54] Speaker 1: what are they saying about that room right?
[30:56] Speaker 18: Now, Well Sean payton's really excited about his wide receiver.
[30:59] Speaker 3: Room patrick good.
[31:00] Speaker 10: REASON a lot of versatility in that.
[31:02] Speaker 18: Room you think about the addition Of Jayleen wattle and
[31:04] Speaker 18: what they'd already had With Courtland sutton And Marvin mims
[31:08] Speaker 18: And Patrick, bryant and.
[31:09] Speaker 1: So the goal here throughout the off scenon is to
[31:11] Speaker 1: have some.
[31:12] Speaker 18: Serious competitiveness within that room and he's been seeing. That
[31:15] Speaker 18: peyton's been seeing that in practices throughout the OTA's and

[32:39] Speaker 19: FAR i think he's sent a really nice. Job he
[32:45] Speaker 19: is very, instinctual he sees the game very. Fast he
[32:49] Speaker 19: works really hard in the meeting. Rooms he's super, athletic
[32:53] Speaker 19: has really good coverage. Ability he's been able to get
[32:56] Speaker 19: his hand on the football and we've asked him to
[33:00] Speaker 19: do a lot and he's handled it very very, well
[33:04] Speaker 19: which is WHAT i kind of told you maybe a
[33:06] Speaker 19: week or two. Ago we've thrown a lot on his
[33:08] Speaker 19: plate and he's, responded And i'm really excited to continue

[33:26] Speaker 1: Johnson thanks for spending time with us here on The.
[33:27] Speaker 1: Insiders campbell all right here with, Me. CHRIS a lot
[33:30] Speaker 1: of times coaches are hesitant to give that kind of
[33:32] Speaker 1: praise early on to a. Rookie what's it like to
[33:35] Speaker 1: Hear Coach affley be so effusive in his.
[33:37] Speaker 20: Praise, yeah, man it feels great hearing that from coach Half,
[33:41] Speaker 20: man just you, know being able to come in here
[33:44] Speaker 20: and you, know do WHAT i do and be the
[33:46] Speaker 20: BEST i could be for. Him and you, know he's
[33:48] Speaker 20: been in great help with me being in the corner
[33:51] Speaker 20: room with all the other coaches and you, know it's
[33:54] Speaker 20: just been.
[33:54] Speaker 5: Great.
[33:56] Speaker 21: CHRIS i couldn't. Help but Notice halfley talking about giving you,
[33:58] Speaker 21: more allowing you to do. More i've been out there a.
[34:01] Speaker 21: Practice you're playing outside, corner slot. CORNER a lot.
[34:03] Speaker 5: Of times, rookies they like to ease them.
[34:05] Speaker 21: In can you maybe take me through what that challenge,
[34:08] Speaker 21: is adjusting THE nfl but also playing two positions as a.
[34:11] Speaker 20: Rookie, Yeah i'll definitely say it was challenging at, first
[34:15] Speaker 20: just being able to, handle you, know the low bite
[34:18] Speaker 20: of you, know learning the new defense at both. Positions
[34:20] Speaker 20: but now that we're making strides towards you, know towards,
[34:23] Speaker 20: training campus stuff like, THAT i feel like it's all
[34:25] Speaker 20: coming together and helping me understand the defense as a.
[34:27] Speaker 20: Whole so understanding what the corner is doing When i'm
[34:30] Speaker 20: at nickel and understanding you, know vice versas just helping
[34:33] Speaker 20: me be able to play, faster understand you, know when
[34:36] Speaker 20: and WHERE i might have help or there might be
[34:38] Speaker 20: voids in the.
[34:39] Speaker 1: Cover, chris looking, back because as a bigger corner, right
[34:42] Speaker 1: you've been asked to do a lot for most of your.
[34:45] Speaker 1: Career what's the biggest difference between what you were asked
[34:47] Speaker 1: to do in? College stay and co from Coach. Athlee, NOW.
[34:52] Speaker 20: I really just say the amount of details in every. Call,
[34:56] Speaker 20: obviously you, KNOW i played in a very good system in,
[34:59] Speaker 20: college but but you, know coming up to THE, nfl
[35:01] Speaker 20: just the amount of details THAT i have to understand
[35:04] Speaker 20: from the front to the linebackers to you, know the
[35:06] Speaker 20: whole back. End just being able to understand that is
[35:09] Speaker 20: definitely definitely a big jump for. Me but you KNOW
[35:12] Speaker 20: i always enjoy, learning and you, know just being able
[35:15] Speaker 20: to learn this new game transitioning into THE, Nfl.
[35:19] Speaker 21: CHRIS i love that we're getting so much detail on corner.
[35:22] Speaker 21: Play BUT i want you to take me into practice meeting.
[35:24] Speaker 21: Rooms you got a head coach that is a corner
[35:26] Speaker 21: back coach at. Heart what is that? Interaction tell me
[35:29] Speaker 21: a story of maybe how he's critiqued you or or
[35:33] Speaker 21: had some fun with.
[35:33] Speaker 5: You early in these first six weeks In.
[35:35] Speaker 10: Miami, yeah for.
[35:37] Speaker 20: Sure so right right after the team, meeting we'll go
[35:38] Speaker 20: to special teams and from there we'll go to you,
[35:41] Speaker 20: know our unit meetings where we'll first meet up as
[35:43] Speaker 20: a offensive defense and then we'll break off into.
[35:46] Speaker 10: Dbs but coach half is sitting back.
[35:48] Speaker 1: There in THE dB.
[35:49] Speaker 20: Meeting you know something funny that you know happens pretty
[35:51] Speaker 20: often is when it's a little bit of, controversy you
[35:53] Speaker 20: know how you know players should, play, sir what technique?
[35:57] Speaker 10: Is she was here and it'll be a little great.
[35:59] Speaker 20: Area but you, know with and being able to sit
[36:00] Speaker 20: in the, room that gray area is it's only there
[36:03] Speaker 20: for a short window because whatever he says, Goes so you,
[36:06] Speaker 20: know things just tend to get cleared up really. Easily
[36:08] Speaker 20: but you, KNOW i definitely enjoy having a head coach
[36:11] Speaker 20: in the back of the room just to clear things.
[36:12] Speaker 1: Up guys come into the league all the. Time some
[36:15] Speaker 1: are coming to rosters filled with. Veterans you guys are
[36:18] Speaker 1: a very young. Team, chris what were your expectations and
[36:21] Speaker 1: what's the reality ben of the start of YOUR nfl.
[36:25] Speaker 20: Career, YEAH i feel like my expectations were to come
[36:28] Speaker 20: in here and you, know we meet a lot of
[36:29] Speaker 20: people and you, know start a new, brotherhood AND i
[36:32] Speaker 20: feel like we're we're exeeding those, expectations you, know especially as.
[36:37] Speaker 10: Rookies we're all close as.
[36:38] Speaker 20: Rookies but then you know within our individual meeting, rooms
[36:40] Speaker 20: like all the corners welcome me with open, arms and
[36:43] Speaker 20: you know we're all in, there all fighting for, spots
[36:45] Speaker 20: all competing every day getting each other. Better, Man AND
[36:47] Speaker 20: i feel like you know that there's no WAY i
[36:49] Speaker 20: rather have, It.
[36:51] Speaker 21: CHRIS i want to keep it real with you because
[36:52] Speaker 21: you're a part of a big, transition a new regime,
[36:55] Speaker 21: here right and you were drafted with the pick that
[36:58] Speaker 21: they use to trade away and foundational player In Jayleen,
[37:01] Speaker 21: wattle and now you're here.
[37:03] Speaker 1: There have you thought about.
[37:04] Speaker 21: Maybe the, pressure the, expectations some would, say the privilege
[37:07] Speaker 21: that comes with you trying to be the next foundational
[37:11] Speaker 21: piece of this.
[37:11] Speaker 20: Team, Yeah i've definitely thought about. It but you, know to, me,
[37:15] Speaker 20: man nobody puts more pressure on me than. Myself so you,
[37:18] Speaker 20: know hearing a lot of the outside, noise it really
[37:20] Speaker 20: doesn't get to me Because i'm my hardest. Critique you,
[37:24] Speaker 20: KNOW i want to be a, perfectionist and you KNOW
[37:25] Speaker 20: i want to be here forever and be that foundational,
[37:27] Speaker 20: piece like you, Said SO i hold myself to those,
[37:29] Speaker 20: expectations so you, know hearing them from the media and
[37:32] Speaker 20: fans and stuff like, that you.
[37:35] Speaker 10: Know it ain't nothing That i'm not telling myself.
[37:37] Speaker 3: Already.
[37:38] Speaker 1: Chris, obviously we talked a lot about cornerback play and
[37:41] Speaker 1: you focused on learning so much about this. Defense what
[37:44] Speaker 1: are your what's been your biggest take away from watching
[37:48] Speaker 1: this new, offense especially With Malik willison in charge and running.
[37:51] Speaker 20: It, yeah, man just you, know especially transition from, college
[37:55] Speaker 20: just a lot of things are, different. Man obviously that
[37:58] Speaker 20: the skill level is a jump as far as a.
[38:00] Speaker 20: Depth you, know once two, threes fours, rotating AND i
[38:03] Speaker 20: feel like there's not a lot of drop off between
[38:05] Speaker 20: any of. Them everybody could. Play and you Know malik, Specifically,
[38:09] Speaker 20: man he's a great. Guy he was out here during kymmedi,
[38:12] Speaker 20: camp so we got to meet, him which is you,
[38:14] Speaker 20: know really being able to meet the starting, quarterback you
[38:16] Speaker 20: know when we first just.
[38:17] Speaker 10: Arrived but he's a cool. Guy we watched a finals
[38:20] Speaker 10: game in his.
[38:21] Speaker 20: Crib but, yeah just trying to bring the team, together
[38:24] Speaker 20: be connected as a.

[39:55] Speaker 22: while a sport like THE nfl determines their champion on
[40:00] Speaker 22: a single. Day, hey it's hard to trust the process
[40:03] Speaker 22: when it's longer than a single. Day but at the same,
[40:05] Speaker 22: TIME i guess it does make sense why there are
[40:07] Speaker 22: so many people milling around so far stadium right. Now and,
[40:10] Speaker 22: LOOK i know a lot OF nfl fans are going
[40:12] Speaker 22: to get into The World, club into The World, cup

[40:17] Speaker 22: Super bowl party who becomes an instant expert after one,
[40:21] Speaker 22: game or perhaps you're going to be that person who's, like,
[40:24] Speaker 22: Oh i'm only here to watch the. Commercials, well the

[40:39] Speaker 22: Listen the point is is that as much as you
[40:41] Speaker 22: get upset With Taylor swift showing up at The Super
[40:44] Speaker 22: bowl or at THE Nba, finals that's exactly what you're
[40:47] Speaker 22: doing with The World cup, here commercial, breaks drinking beers
[40:51] Speaker 22: in the.
[40:51] Speaker 5: Stands these games don't even.

[42:20] Speaker 22: don't you just compare them to The? Bears, well you know,
[42:22] Speaker 22: what much like The. Bears i'm delusional enough to think
[42:26] Speaker 22: that THE us has a chance in this.
