[0:07] Speaker 1: The Buck Silbner is one hundred days away, but it
[0:10] Speaker 1: seems they don't have that long to figure out a
[0:12] Speaker 1: new contract with their franchise.
[0:14] Speaker 2: QB.
[0:15] Speaker 1: Here from Baker Mayfield tonight on where things stand and
[0:18] Speaker 1: when he'd be done talking with Tampa. Should we call
[0:22] Speaker 1: them the Chicago Land Bears or perhaps the Monsters of
[0:26] Speaker 1: the Midwest? Neither just yet, but the team has taken
[0:29] Speaker 1: a big step towards building a new Bears stadium in Indiana.
[0:32] Speaker 1: We will tell you the latest. It's also never too
[0:36] Speaker 1: early to look ahead to next February. Jeffy Jinia will
[0:39] Speaker 1: be here tonight to break down his top five teams
[0:41] Speaker 1: that could win Super Bowl sixty one and five teams
[0:44] Speaker 1: that definitely will not welcome inside with the Insiders alongside
[0:49] Speaker 1: Judy Matista, I am Tom Peliicero. NFL training camps kickoff
[0:54] Speaker 1: next month, and it sure sounds like Baker Mayfield hopes
[0:58] Speaker 1: and expects to have a new deal in place before then.
[1:01] Speaker 1: The former number one overall pick entering the last season
[1:03] Speaker 1: with the three year, one hundred million dollar deal he
[1:06] Speaker 1: signed back in twenty twenty four. While these sides are talking,
[1:10] Speaker 1: it doesn't sound like they're even on the same field.
[1:14] Speaker 3: Yeah, I think first and foremost, regardless, we've built roots
[1:17] Speaker 3: here in Tampa. We love the community, we love being here.
[1:20] Speaker 3: They've embraced us, and we enjoy being here and obviously
[1:24] Speaker 3: going to raise kids here. But yeah, contract stuff, it's
[1:28] Speaker 3: it's happenings, starting the talks and whatnot, but not newhere
[1:32] Speaker 3: close to what you know we were thinking. So would
[1:36] Speaker 3: love to be here long term and as of right
[1:39] Speaker 3: now that's that's not exactly the case. But I'm under
[1:41] Speaker 3: contract for twenty twenty six, and the guys in that
[1:43] Speaker 3: locker room, the staff know that I'm still gonna be me.
[1:47] Speaker 3: I'm still gonna do everything I can to help this
[1:49] Speaker 3: team win a Super Bowl, and that's to me, that's
[1:51] Speaker 3: the priority. Everything else to take care of itself. Obviously, yes,
[1:54] Speaker 3: I would love to have a long term deal done,
[1:56] Speaker 3: but they know my deadline is as soon as training
[1:58] Speaker 3: camp starts. We're not doing any jack stuff.
[2:00] Speaker 4: It's all ball, so it's not up.
[2:03] Speaker 3: To me when that gets done by but so hopefully
[2:07] Speaker 3: hopefully before that, if not, still going to have a
[2:09] Speaker 3: good year.
[2:11] Speaker 1: It's hard to deny the numbers the Baker Mayfield has
[2:13] Speaker 1: put up since getting to Tampa back in twenty twenty three,
[2:16] Speaker 1: the successor to Tom Brady Judy. At this stage, Baker
[2:20] Speaker 1: said to become a free agent next March if no
[2:23] Speaker 1: deal gets done.
[2:24] Speaker 5: Where we stand, well, first of all, you're looking at
[2:27] Speaker 5: those numbers. Twenty twenty five, there was a dip in
[2:29] Speaker 5: the numbers. Remember if they had injury after injury after
[2:32] Speaker 5: injury on that offense.
[2:33] Speaker 6: So take that into account when you're looking at the numbers.
[2:36] Speaker 5: Baker is only thirty one years old. I know, it
[2:38] Speaker 5: feels like he has been around for everybody's only thirty one,
[2:41] Speaker 5: So he's got many, many, many good years ahead of him.
[2:45] Speaker 5: Right now, his average per year is thirty three point
[2:49] Speaker 5: three million dollars, which is just a tick below Sam Darnold.
[2:52] Speaker 5: And then there's a jump up to Daniel Jones who
[2:55] Speaker 5: is at forty four million, and then there is the
[2:57] Speaker 5: run up all the way up to Dak Prescott at
[3:00] Speaker 5: sixty million, with a bunch of franchise quarterbacks in there.
[3:04] Speaker 5: So the question is where do the Bucks see Baker Mayfield.
[3:07] Speaker 6: In that range? It is a huge.
[3:10] Speaker 5: Range between Daniel Jones and Dak Prescott. Do they see
[3:13] Speaker 5: him closer to the Daniel Jones end, do they see
[3:15] Speaker 5: him closer to the Dak Prescott and can they bridge
[3:20] Speaker 5: what is a very big gap there in those numbers
[3:23] Speaker 5: in six weeks. The fact that they're talking is obviously
[3:27] Speaker 5: a good thing. That's a good development. It really shouldn't
[3:30] Speaker 5: take all that long to get to the right number.
[3:33] Speaker 5: All you have to do is get to the right number.
[3:35] Speaker 5: They've got six weeks to do it. It's hard to
[3:38] Speaker 5: imagine the Bucks with any plan that does not include
[3:42] Speaker 5: Baker Mayfield going forward. He stepped into a very difficult
[3:46] Speaker 5: spot succeeding Tom Brady. He has performed very well. I
[3:50] Speaker 5: know they've basically been around a five hundred team during
[3:53] Speaker 5: his tenure there, but he has performed very well and
[3:56] Speaker 5: the offense has performed very well.
[4:00] Speaker 6: Again, the question is.
[4:01] Speaker 5: Where does Bucks management see him slotting in in the
[4:04] Speaker 5: list of franchise quarterbacks. He's clearly not a bridge quarterback.
[4:07] Speaker 5: He is not an intermediate step. He is the franchise quarterback.
[4:11] Speaker 5: Where do they see him in that range?
[4:13] Speaker 1: And among franchise quarterbacks, you can make the argument Baker
[4:16] Speaker 1: Mayfield is the lowest paid right now, sixteenth in average
[4:20] Speaker 1: per year on his contract, then there's a huge drop
[4:22] Speaker 1: off down into the Malik Willis's and Justin Fields and
[4:25] Speaker 1: Gino Smith's of the world. If you look at the
[4:28] Speaker 1: numbers on Baker, and yes, there's always been perceptions from
[4:31] Speaker 1: going back to how things ended in Cleveland with a
[4:33] Speaker 1: bunch of different injuries, then bouncing to Carolina and to
[4:36] Speaker 1: la before he got to Tampa on what was a
[4:37] Speaker 1: one year, five million dollar deal. Since he got the
[4:40] Speaker 1: Tampa in twenty twenty three, Baker Mayfield is second in
[4:43] Speaker 1: the NFL in passing touchdowns, third in the NFL in
[4:46] Speaker 1: passing yards, fourth in total touchdowns. By the way, hasn't
[4:51] Speaker 1: missed a single game and has put up those numbers
[4:53] Speaker 1: with three now going on four different offensive coordinators. Again,
[4:57] Speaker 1: there's still time here for them to work out a
[4:59] Speaker 1: deal with Baker Mayfield. But if you're going surely off
[5:02] Speaker 1: the numbers, certainly Baker Mayfield stacks up well against some
[5:06] Speaker 1: of those other guys that he and his agent are
[5:08] Speaker 1: surely using as comparisons through the course of that negotiation.
[5:13] Speaker 1: We also had developments on the stadium front today surrounding
[5:17] Speaker 1: the Chicago Bears, and yes, still the Chicago Bears put
[5:21] Speaker 1: out a statement earlier today making clear that their Board
[5:24] Speaker 1: of Directors has now voted to advance their stadium development
[5:28] Speaker 1: in Hammond, Indiana. This coming just days after the end
[5:31] Speaker 1: of Illinois spring legislative session. A lot of ballgame here left.
[5:35] Speaker 6: Judy.
[5:36] Speaker 1: Illinois really hasn't done anything yet, but the due diligence
[5:40] Speaker 1: is now hey in the barn for the Bears. Their
[5:43] Speaker 1: focus is on Indiana. Where does it go from here?
[5:46] Speaker 5: Well, that's correct, But if you read between the lines
[5:49] Speaker 5: of the statement and you know the lay of the
[5:51] Speaker 5: land here, it's not over yet. There is certainly maybe
[5:55] Speaker 5: they're in the eleventh hour, but they are not done
[5:58] Speaker 5: and there is still time for Illinois to get back
[6:01] Speaker 5: into this. Let's take a step back. I love Soldier Field,
[6:04] Speaker 5: I love the site. I love walking along the lake
[6:07] Speaker 5: shore to get to a game. That is not practical
[6:11] Speaker 5: if you want to keep them as close to Chicago
[6:14] Speaker 5: as possible. Hammond, Indiana is actually closer to the South
[6:17] Speaker 5: side of Chicago than Arlington Heights's, which is out in
[6:21] Speaker 5: the suburbs. Obviously, they are over the state line, but
[6:24] Speaker 5: I live in a place where the New York Giants
[6:26] Speaker 5: and the New York.
[6:27] Speaker 6: Jets play in New Jersey.
[6:28] Speaker 5: They play right over the water right over the Hudson River.
[6:33] Speaker 5: I don't know if it really makes any difference that
[6:36] Speaker 5: they're in New Jersey. They are still very much New
[6:38] Speaker 5: York's teams. The Chicago Bears would still be the Chicago
[6:42] Speaker 5: Bears even if they are playing right over the state
[6:45] Speaker 5: line in Indiana.
[6:46] Speaker 6: That's not going to change.
[6:49] Speaker 7: I am interested to see how this goes.
[6:51] Speaker 5: I'm very interested to see if the state of Illinois
[6:54] Speaker 5: steps in at the last minute and gives the Bears
[6:57] Speaker 5: what they want in terms of infrastructure and tax breaks
[7:01] Speaker 5: to get the deal done in Arlington Heights. But again,
[7:03] Speaker 5: they are actually closer to the city of Chicago if
[7:07] Speaker 5: they're in Indiana. Little geography lesson for you.
[7:09] Speaker 1: They've had a term sheet, they've had a term sheet
[7:12] Speaker 1: in place with Haim in Indiana since back in December.
[7:14] Speaker 2: But there are.
[7:15] Speaker 7: Still steps back.
[7:16] Speaker 1: There's obviously legal paperwork, they have to select the site,
[7:19] Speaker 1: they have to get the financing lined up, all of
[7:21] Speaker 1: which gives the State of Illinois time. Though they've had
[7:24] Speaker 1: time to this point and have not acted upon it.
[7:27] Speaker 4: We'll see.
[7:28] Speaker 1: We've seen the mayor today already put it on a
[7:30] Speaker 1: statement essentially saying that the vote on this is meaningless.
[7:33] Speaker 1: But the Bears board, which is five members of the
[7:36] Speaker 1: McCaskey family plus two others, including Kevin Warren, who is
[7:39] Speaker 1: part of the getting the Viking Stadium built in Minnesota.
[7:42] Speaker 1: They don't just take votes all over the place. This
[7:44] Speaker 1: is the first time that you have affirmative action toward
[7:47] Speaker 1: moving in a certain direction. Again, the focus is on Indiana.
[7:51] Speaker 1: The due diligence is done. Can Illinois do something to
[7:55] Speaker 1: change their minds? We'll find that out in the weeks
[7:57] Speaker 1: and perhaps months to come. Other new it was around
[8:00] Speaker 1: the NFL today. First round draft picks continued to sign
[8:04] Speaker 1: at a I'd say almost a record rate. Dylan Thineman
[8:07] Speaker 1: among them, the Bears first round pick twenty fifth overall.
[8:10] Speaker 1: He agreed to terms earlier today, as did Malachi Lawrence,
[8:13] Speaker 1: the number twenty four overall pick, agreeing to terms with
[8:17] Speaker 1: the Dallas Cowboys. Another news, Broncos linebacker Jonathan Cooper was
[8:21] Speaker 1: arrested early this morning on domestic violence charges. According to
[8:25] Speaker 1: jail records, Cooper was held at the Douglas County Jail
[8:28] Speaker 1: on the suspicion of criminal mischief with a domestic violence enhancer.
[8:32] Speaker 1: The Broncos said in a statement we are aware of
[8:34] Speaker 1: the matter in our gathering more information.
[8:38] Speaker 7: The weight is over.
[8:40] Speaker 4: Whose moment awaits super Bowl.
[8:43] Speaker 8: Sixty Make sure I step up?
[8:45] Speaker 4: He lost the football.
[8:45] Speaker 9: Pittsburgh and Seattle, Tess recover, startle to the inside. Barner's
[8:51] Speaker 9: gotta touchdown, Bill advise, throw in the middle. Let's intercept
[8:54] Speaker 9: it there. You gotta knocked down.
[8:57] Speaker 8: I don't shut in a little suits than he deserved
[9:01] Speaker 8: that bass.
[9:02] Speaker 4: What an incredible job he's done.
[9:04] Speaker 8: Seattle rains of of the ball.
[9:08] Speaker 9: Give me the NFL the Seahawks Super Bowl champions for
[9:13] Speaker 9: the second time.
[9:15] Speaker 1: Super Bowl sixty in the books. We are now well
[9:18] Speaker 1: on the road to Super Bowl sixty one. The schedule
[9:21] Speaker 1: is set. Check out some of the big games across
[9:24] Speaker 1: ESPN Monday Night Football, and right here on NFL Network.
[9:28] Speaker 1: It all concludes Valentine's Day, February fourteenth, twenty twenty seven.
[9:32] Speaker 1: Super bowls sixty one on ESPN and ABC. So who
[9:37] Speaker 1: is most likely to walk off that field as champions?
[9:41] Speaker 1: For more on that, Let's bring in our guy, Jeffrey
[9:43] Speaker 1: Chedia right now, who's got Chedia's power five? The teams
[9:47] Speaker 1: have a legit shot to win that Super Bowl? Jeffrey
[9:49] Speaker 1: where do you want to begin.
[9:51] Speaker 10: I'll start with the obvious, Tom the Los Angeles Rams,
[9:54] Speaker 10: a team that was so close to winning last year.
[9:56] Speaker 4: They could have gone past the Seattle Seahawks.
[9:58] Speaker 10: They didn't happen the off season with guns blazing, and
[10:01] Speaker 10: they picked up Trent McDuffie and free agency and Jayson
[10:03] Speaker 10: Watson and that guy right there, Miles Gearrett, was the
[10:06] Speaker 10: biggest piece of all. You're talking about a team that's
[10:09] Speaker 10: going to have the Raining MVP, the Raining Defensive Player
[10:12] Speaker 10: of the Year, two or three other players who are
[10:14] Speaker 10: all pro best at their positions. It's hard to imagine
[10:18] Speaker 10: a better team on paper. I know they stuff to
[10:20] Speaker 10: go out and win it, but right now you look
[10:21] Speaker 10: at the way the Rams are built. They are ready
[10:24] Speaker 10: to go and win a championship. And the team that
[10:25] Speaker 10: they lost to Seattle should not be dismissed. I don't
[10:28] Speaker 10: know why they're not given better odds when you talk about.
[10:31] Speaker 4: Looking at Vegas for this stuff. But they won this championship. Legit.
[10:35] Speaker 4: They won it because of that guy, Sam Darnold.
[10:37] Speaker 10: Yes, I know, offensive coredator Clint Kubiak has moved on,
[10:39] Speaker 10: and running back Kenneth Walker has gone, and there's some
[10:42] Speaker 10: questions about Zach Sharpernay with that ACL tear, But when
[10:44] Speaker 10: you were around his team last year, you saw the chemistry,
[10:47] Speaker 10: and you saw the culture, and you saw make McDonald
[10:49] Speaker 10: has built.
[10:50] Speaker 4: With that defense, it's still very much elite. Most of
[10:52] Speaker 4: those guys are back.
[10:53] Speaker 10: That passers will still be devastating, and so I find
[10:56] Speaker 10: it hard to believe that the NFC West is going
[10:58] Speaker 10: to be worse.
[10:58] Speaker 4: It's going to be strong. These two teams are right
[11:01] Speaker 4: at the top.
[11:03] Speaker 5: The Seahawks were pretty dominant in the Super Bowl over
[11:06] Speaker 5: the Patriots. But who do you have coming out of
[11:08] Speaker 5: the AFC this year, Well.
[11:10] Speaker 10: It's way more interesting, But I always start with the
[11:12] Speaker 10: teams that are obvious there too.
[11:13] Speaker 4: When the Buffalo Bills are the top of my list.
[11:15] Speaker 10: With Josh Allen still being in an MVP candidate quarterback,
[11:19] Speaker 10: that would says trade out Joe Brady at head coach.
[11:21] Speaker 10: Joe Brady comes in as head coach of placing Sean McDermott.
[11:23] Speaker 10: But what I like about the Bills is one they
[11:26] Speaker 10: they've got a new attitude on defense, brought in Jim
[11:29] Speaker 10: Leonard to run the three four, going to be more
[11:31] Speaker 10: aggressive up front.
[11:32] Speaker 4: One got Bradleychubb to help on the edge.
[11:34] Speaker 10: And you're talking about a team that was really close
[11:37] Speaker 10: to beating Denver in the playoffs and has made a
[11:39] Speaker 10: hell of a run the last few years.
[11:41] Speaker 4: They should be in the mix.
[11:42] Speaker 10: Number two team, I'll go with the Ravens and what
[11:45] Speaker 10: I like about them again a new coach here, Jesse
[11:47] Speaker 10: Miner taking over for John Harbaugh.
[11:49] Speaker 4: What I love They're.
[11:50] Speaker 10: Getting back to basics, getting back to trying to make
[11:53] Speaker 10: this defense what we're used to seeing. The last couple
[11:55] Speaker 10: of years, they've had slow starts on that side of
[11:57] Speaker 10: the football. They've bring back Anthony Weaver as a defensive warp,
[12:00] Speaker 10: they bring in Trey Henderson to help with the edge rush.
[12:03] Speaker 10: And Lamar Jackson here, you're talking about him coming off
[12:05] Speaker 10: a really tough season with injuries and inconsistency. This guy
[12:08] Speaker 10: still has two MVPs. I expect him to be playing
[12:11] Speaker 10: at a high clip and this team to be back
[12:12] Speaker 10: in the mix. And then finally I'll go to the Broncos,
[12:15] Speaker 10: another team that's getting not a lot of respect when
[12:17] Speaker 10: it comes to their chances of getting back to the
[12:19] Speaker 10: Super Bowl or getting to a Super Bowl. This team
[12:22] Speaker 10: was close to winning the AFC last year, if bo
[12:24] Speaker 10: Nicks had not had that injury going the championship game
[12:26] Speaker 10: against the Patriots, they would have been right there.
[12:29] Speaker 4: They're an elite defense still, they still got good players.
[12:31] Speaker 4: That made the big.
[12:32] Speaker 10: Trade for Jalen Wadde. Sean Payton has won a championship.
[12:36] Speaker 10: This team was closed last year. They should be right
[12:38] Speaker 10: back in the mix this year.
[12:40] Speaker 6: That team was so close.
[12:41] Speaker 5: You have to wonder if Boone Nicks had been healthy,
[12:44] Speaker 5: what might have happened there. There are your Power five
[12:47] Speaker 5: teams that can win the Super Bowl. I agree with
[12:49] Speaker 5: all of them that they should be in the mix
[12:51] Speaker 5: and make deep runs. I think the Rams are well
[12:53] Speaker 5: ahead of everybody now with the Miles Garrett trade, especially
[12:56] Speaker 5: with the scuttle, but that Aaron Donald could.
[12:57] Speaker 6: Think about coming out of retirement too.
[13:00] Speaker 5: I am most interested, though, in the teams that are
[13:02] Speaker 5: not on this lift list. You don't have the Patriots
[13:05] Speaker 5: on there, you don't have the forty nine ers, you
[13:06] Speaker 5: don't have the Eagles. No faith in those teams that
[13:10] Speaker 5: the Patriots were not a one year wonder there, and
[13:14] Speaker 5: no faith that the perennial teams like the Eagles and the.
[13:17] Speaker 6: Forty nine ers can get back there. Very interesting, Jeffrey.
[13:21] Speaker 1: No teams from the NFC North making the list from Judea,
[13:24] Speaker 1: even though we got some pretty good quarterbacks, pretty good
[13:27] Speaker 1: teams in that division as well. Jeffrey, thank you very much.
[13:30] Speaker 1: You're back in a little bit. But first got Cameron
[13:32] Speaker 1: Wolf's going to be here on the other side of
[13:35] Speaker 1: this break to go deep on the NFC South. Who
[13:38] Speaker 1: wins the Falcons quarterback battle? Can the Panthers repeat his champs?
[13:42] Speaker 1: And what do we make a Baker Mayfield in the
[13:44] Speaker 1: contract here?
[13:45] Speaker 11: Well?
[13:45] Speaker 7: Ask Cam after this on the insiders, sez pressure, He's.
[13:56] Speaker 12: Got our ton of room.
[13:57] Speaker 13: There goes shut out.
[13:59] Speaker 12: On lots of one zone, hits a touchdown, lofts the middle,
[14:03] Speaker 12: going for once to got it touchdown, going deep, catch
[14:07] Speaker 12: bay the ice span, come it the icepan, take his
[14:11] Speaker 12: Jackson got away and throws.
[14:13] Speaker 7: The flowers downfield.
[14:15] Speaker 14: Hease got it, drop it back, throwing it at the
[14:17] Speaker 14: end zone and it is hold in Thurrow.
[14:20] Speaker 8: Project team one hand catch with the.
[14:22] Speaker 13: Right hands, ball in his hand, gets a downfield blocked
[14:25] Speaker 13: down fickle.
[14:26] Speaker 4: Starting foot in for the fight of.
[14:32] Speaker 1: Some great matchups on the twenty twenty six NFL schedule
[14:35] Speaker 1: for quarterbacks let's dig a little deeper now with our
[14:38] Speaker 1: guy Cameron Wolf joining me. Tom Pelasero here on the insiders,
[14:41] Speaker 1: the players that can make or break the season in
[14:44] Speaker 1: the NFC South, Cam, Where do you want to begin.
[14:48] Speaker 14: Tom, Let's avoid the quarterbacks and let's start with the
[14:51] Speaker 14: defending champion Carolina Panthers with running back Jonathan Brooks.
[14:55] Speaker 2: And it's all about his health here. Look Brooks, they.
[14:58] Speaker 14: Drafted high in the second round a couple of years ago,
[15:01] Speaker 14: only played three games in two years. But he's getting
[15:04] Speaker 14: back to health. He's doing well, and they're seeing glimpses
[15:08] Speaker 14: of why they thought he could be the featured back
[15:10] Speaker 14: of this backfield. Look, this is a guy that if
[15:13] Speaker 14: he is healthy, they have expectations of him potentially being
[15:16] Speaker 14: the lead back over Toba Hoverard in this offense.
[15:19] Speaker 2: He's a guy that's got plenty of talent.
[15:21] Speaker 14: Teammates have already raved about his cutting ability, his quickness,
[15:25] Speaker 14: and his confidence.
[15:26] Speaker 2: Has it weighed either.
[15:27] Speaker 14: He even joked last week I'm fashioned in Cuba even
[15:30] Speaker 14: coming back from those injuries.
[15:32] Speaker 2: But the injuries are a big deal. Tours ACL in
[15:34] Speaker 2: college Tours.
[15:35] Speaker 14: ACL is in his rookie year as well, and he
[15:39] Speaker 14: missed all last year on pup. Can he stay healthy?
[15:43] Speaker 14: From what I understand, they may ease him in early
[15:45] Speaker 14: on in camp and during this season, but the hope
[15:48] Speaker 14: is if he can go full go, he could be
[15:50] Speaker 14: a guy that defines this offense. When they were at
[15:52] Speaker 14: their best, ric o'dowdell was playing really well. They let
[15:55] Speaker 14: ric o'dowdell go in part because they thought Jonathan Brooks
[15:58] Speaker 14: was ready to be the guy in this backfield.
[16:02] Speaker 1: NFC South a pretty good running back division overall, we
[16:05] Speaker 1: all know who carries the load there in Atlanta. Tell me, though,
[16:08] Speaker 1: who's the player you think could make or break the
[16:10] Speaker 1: Falcon season camp?
[16:13] Speaker 2: Let's do Kyle Pits.
[16:14] Speaker 14: Look, we talk Kyle Pits every year, and usually it's
[16:18] Speaker 14: about his health and what he can or can't do.
[16:21] Speaker 2: He's coming off a great.
[16:22] Speaker 14: Year, and from my understanding talking to people in the situation,
[16:25] Speaker 14: he is expected to be a Falcon this year. I
[16:27] Speaker 14: know there's all talks about trade or whatnot. It sounds
[16:31] Speaker 14: like a status quo. He's playing on the franchise tag,
[16:34] Speaker 14: no extension emminent at this time, so a chance for Kyle.
[16:37] Speaker 2: Pits to prove his play if he does what he
[16:40] Speaker 2: did last year having a great year.
[16:42] Speaker 14: Maybe, just maybe he's in free agency next year trying
[16:45] Speaker 14: to reset the tight end market. And look, he joins
[16:48] Speaker 14: the Falcons offense that has added pieces that are really
[16:51] Speaker 14: tight end friendly. First, the head coach, Kevin Stefanski, has
[16:54] Speaker 14: been really great for tight ends throughout his career, and
[16:56] Speaker 14: if Tua Tungabailoa does win that starting quarterback job, he
[17:00] Speaker 14: has done really great with tight ends in his career
[17:02] Speaker 14: as well. From Mike Gasicki to John Usmith to Darren
[17:06] Speaker 14: Waller all have had great years there. So Kyle Pitts
[17:09] Speaker 14: has talked about feeling the healthiest he has. His nutrition
[17:12] Speaker 14: is right, He's doing everything the right way. If he
[17:15] Speaker 14: can be the guy to be that third piece with
[17:17] Speaker 14: Drake London, with John Robinson, maybe this Falcons team can
[17:21] Speaker 14: be better than we expect.
[17:24] Speaker 1: Falcons won a few games down the stretch last seasons,
[17:26] Speaker 1: but nobody was hotter than the Saints. Cam, how do
[17:28] Speaker 1: they capitalize this and who is a player that could
[17:30] Speaker 1: make or break the season in New Orleans.
[17:35] Speaker 14: Tom I'm looking at Chase Young, who is now their
[17:38] Speaker 14: top edge rusher. For so many years, Cam Jordan has
[17:41] Speaker 14: been the face of the Saints defense. He is not
[17:44] Speaker 14: a Saint right now, Demario Davis. He's in the New
[17:47] Speaker 14: York with the Jets. So who is going to be
[17:49] Speaker 14: the new fates of the Saints team? Chase Young coming
[17:52] Speaker 14: off an excellent year. He had ten sacks in twelve games.
[17:55] Speaker 14: Can he take it up a notch? Can he take
[17:57] Speaker 14: on the mantle of all the pressure, all the response ability?
[18:00] Speaker 14: Can he lead the Saints defense that maybe they could
[18:03] Speaker 14: challenge for this NFC souths title. We saw Tyler Shuck
[18:07] Speaker 14: in the offense show a lot of promise last year.
[18:09] Speaker 14: That defense is going to have a lot of eyeballs
[18:11] Speaker 14: on it. Chase Young has looked good so far in camp.
[18:14] Speaker 2: Can he be the guy? I'm watching it all year?
[18:19] Speaker 1: Meanwhile in Tampa, we heard from Baker Mayfield earlier on
[18:21] Speaker 1: in the show. Is contract going to be a big
[18:23] Speaker 1: storyline leading up the training camp and when you get
[18:25] Speaker 1: there to the season? Cam, Who's a guy who could
[18:28] Speaker 1: make or break the season for the Bucks?
[18:31] Speaker 14: Baker's got his hands on the offense. I'm looking at
[18:34] Speaker 14: a rookie on defense, Rubin Bain. Can he bring the pain?
[18:39] Speaker 4: Look?
[18:40] Speaker 2: I've talked about it since the spring.
[18:42] Speaker 14: This is giving me defensive Rookie of the Year vibes
[18:45] Speaker 14: the fit that he has in this Buck scheme, the
[18:48] Speaker 14: way that he played in college, particularly laid in the playoffs,
[18:52] Speaker 14: and plus you made the man angry all draft. He
[18:55] Speaker 14: had to hear about his short arms and how he
[18:57] Speaker 14: couldn't get to the passer. I have pey for the
[19:00] Speaker 14: offensive tackle that has to face him and we ask him.
[19:03] Speaker 2: What his arms look like.
[19:04] Speaker 14: In week one, he's already impressing with his pop at
[19:07] Speaker 14: this stage of OTAs that he's a guy that has
[19:09] Speaker 14: a lot of ben They think he's immediately going to
[19:12] Speaker 14: have a huge impact player. If he can have ten
[19:15] Speaker 14: plus sacks as a rookie, which is not unreasonable from
[19:18] Speaker 14: people I talk to there, then the Bucks maybe can
[19:20] Speaker 14: reclaim this NFC South their defense waned late in the season.
[19:25] Speaker 14: This is a guy in Bain that can maybe bring
[19:27] Speaker 14: the intensity to keep it consistent throughout the year.
[19:30] Speaker 2: He's going to be the wild card for this Bucks team.
[19:33] Speaker 7: Cam good stuff, Thank you very much, Judy.
[19:38] Speaker 5: Legendary soccer player. Most Sala and Browns kicker Andre Schmidt
[19:42] Speaker 5: exchange jerseys. Sala might be wondering why he is in Cleveland.
[19:46] Speaker 5: He's there with the Egyptian national team. That is where
[19:48] Speaker 5: they are training in preparation for the World Cup. And
[19:51] Speaker 5: obviously Schmidt is there because the Browns are there and
[19:54] Speaker 5: they're getting ready to go to mini camp, which all
[19:56] Speaker 5: connects to what we are going to be talking with
[19:59] Speaker 5: Jeffrey chd about. Because Jeffrey, we just talked about five
[20:03] Speaker 5: teams that could make a push to the Super Bowl.
[20:05] Speaker 5: So now let's talk about five teams that still need
[20:07] Speaker 5: to do so a little bit more work before they
[20:10] Speaker 5: can even start thinking about the Super Bowl.
[20:12] Speaker 6: Who you got there?
[20:13] Speaker 10: We'll start with that city you just mentioned, the Cleveland Browns,
[20:16] Speaker 10: because they've done some positive things as far as drafting
[20:20] Speaker 10: and trying to rebuild this roster. But the quarterback situation
[20:23] Speaker 10: has got to get figured out, and we know Deshaun
[20:25] Speaker 10: Watson's had a rough go there. He's reaching a point
[20:28] Speaker 10: where they got to figure out if he can actually
[20:29] Speaker 10: do it or get rid of him after the season.
[20:32] Speaker 10: You know, schud Or Sanders showed some promise but also
[20:34] Speaker 10: sold some problems last year, so they got to get
[20:36] Speaker 10: that figured out. But I'm cured by what they have
[20:38] Speaker 10: moving forward down the road because they still have eleven
[20:41] Speaker 10: draft backs coming from next season. Part of that is
[20:44] Speaker 10: what happened with the Miles Garrett trade. Two first round
[20:46] Speaker 10: picks coming out of that deal or coming because of
[20:48] Speaker 10: that deal, and so they're a pretty good situation to
[20:51] Speaker 10: start building some new talent and finding a way to
[20:55] Speaker 10: get back into the AFC. As far as contention, the
[20:57] Speaker 10: second team we'll look at is the Las Vegas Raiders.
[20:59] Speaker 10: They got to build a new culture there, a winning culture.
[21:03] Speaker 10: They brought in Pete Carroll to try to make that happen.
[21:05] Speaker 10: Last year it was a disaster. They go back to Seattle,
[21:08] Speaker 10: they get Kubiak, the former seayoffs coordinator, to make it
[21:12] Speaker 10: happen now. But I like what they've done in terms
[21:14] Speaker 10: of going out and adding players who've been on playoff teams,
[21:17] Speaker 10: who's been on championship caliber teams, Guys like Kaway Walker,
[21:20] Speaker 10: Nikobe Dean, Tarren Johnson, Tyler Linderbaum.
[21:23] Speaker 4: These players know how to win and know what's expected
[21:26] Speaker 4: of that.
[21:26] Speaker 10: So it's going to take a while to see what
[21:28] Speaker 10: happened with Fernando Mendoza, but I'm confident.
[21:32] Speaker 4: That they can start moving forward in the right direction
[21:33] Speaker 4: in a really tough AFC West.
[21:35] Speaker 10: And then finally, Cam just mentioned the NFC South and
[21:38] Speaker 10: the New Orleans Saints, and what they got to figure
[21:40] Speaker 10: out here is what's going to happen on defense with
[21:42] Speaker 10: that leadership. To Mario Davis leaving is a big loss.
[21:45] Speaker 10: He was a huge factor in this team's leadership. Cam Jordan,
[21:49] Speaker 10: we don't know if he's going to come back, but again,
[21:51] Speaker 10: a player who's been there his entire career, made a
[21:53] Speaker 10: huge difference on and off the field. Alonte Taylor was
[21:56] Speaker 10: a player they lost in the offseason. Now they have
[22:00] Speaker 10: some guys like Justin Reid and maybe chasing up and
[22:02] Speaker 10: be that player. But I know they can't put this
[22:04] Speaker 10: all on the offense. They got to figure out a
[22:05] Speaker 10: way to get the defense going and find some players
[22:07] Speaker 10: who can make up for a lot of losses.
[22:09] Speaker 4: As far as leadership, you.
[22:12] Speaker 5: Have two more teams too that could maybe make some
[22:16] Speaker 5: noise if they still do some more crew are they.
[22:19] Speaker 10: Yeah, well, quietly the Tennessee Titans could be one of
[22:22] Speaker 10: those teams, and they need to make sure they get
[22:24] Speaker 10: more help for Cam Ward, who quietly played some good
[22:28] Speaker 10: football late in the second half of last season. People
[22:32] Speaker 10: remember the first half when they were really struggling, but
[22:33] Speaker 10: he showed a lot of improvement. And so they go
[22:35] Speaker 10: out and get Carnel Tait, who's the fourth overall pick
[22:38] Speaker 10: on a receiver. They're hoping he can be that alpha
[22:41] Speaker 10: dog come in and really make a difference. They add
[22:43] Speaker 10: Wandel Robinson, who was in with the New York Giants
[22:46] Speaker 10: with Ryan dave Ball their offensive coordinator. And you think
[22:49] Speaker 10: about the stay Ball being part of this mix as well,
[22:51] Speaker 10: and what he meant for Josh Allen early in his
[22:53] Speaker 10: career in Buffalo, and what he was able to do
[22:55] Speaker 10: with Dan Daniel Jones early in his tenure with that
[22:58] Speaker 10: quarterback with the Giants.
[23:00] Speaker 4: A lot of hope here about what can warkuld becoming.
[23:02] Speaker 10: And I'll give you a surprise Super Bowl playoff deep
[23:05] Speaker 10: playoff run team with the Patriots last year. The New
[23:07] Speaker 10: York Giants, and I know they've been struggling, but they
[23:11] Speaker 10: went out and got the best coach on the market
[23:13] Speaker 10: in John Harbaugh. I love what they've got as far
[23:16] Speaker 10: as young skilled players. Yeah, their offensive numbers were really
[23:18] Speaker 10: bad last year, but a lot of that had to
[23:20] Speaker 10: do with league neighbors getting heard and Scattabow getting heard,
[23:23] Speaker 10: and obviously Jackson Dart was getting banged up as well.
[23:26] Speaker 10: But they got to fix the defense, and they got
[23:28] Speaker 10: to make sure that defense plays at a higher level.
[23:30] Speaker 10: It's better against the run. They were really bad twenty
[23:33] Speaker 10: seventh in the league as far as yards per carry
[23:36] Speaker 10: allowed and overall yards allowed. They went out made some
[23:39] Speaker 10: big moves in the draft with Rviille Reese. They brought
[23:41] Speaker 10: in some run stoppers in free agency like DJ Reider
[23:45] Speaker 10: Tremaine Edmunds, so they can get better on that side
[23:47] Speaker 10: of the football.
[23:48] Speaker 4: And Jim John Harbod does his thing as a coach.
[23:50] Speaker 4: Don't be surprised we're talking about the Giants in January.
[23:56] Speaker 2: Wow.
[23:57] Speaker 5: If they have a New England like season, there were
[23:59] Speaker 5: going to be a lot of very very happy people
[24:01] Speaker 5: here in the New York here, thank you, all right, Well,
[24:05] Speaker 5: we were very happy about that, admittedly thanks to Jeffrey.
[24:10] Speaker 5: Coming up next, Caleb Williams is the Madden twenty seven
[24:14] Speaker 5: cover boy. Is that good or bad? I did like
[24:17] Speaker 5: that he tried to do the whole Michael Jordan Leap
[24:19] Speaker 5: thing for the cover photo. Adam Rank has thoughts, of course,
[24:23] Speaker 5: he has thoughts on Caleb Williams and probably a lot
[24:25] Speaker 5: more that is coming up next on The Insiders.
[24:37] Speaker 8: Gay Cold winters night in December.
[24:40] Speaker 9: The white toles flying over Soldier fields there, freezing cold
[24:43] Speaker 9: down there.
[24:44] Speaker 15: Caleb Williams has been untouchable.
[24:46] Speaker 7: His new nickname in Chicago, mister Freeze.
[24:49] Speaker 4: He's the iceman.
[24:52] Speaker 7: What a strike?
[24:52] Speaker 12: The iceman comments, we're in frigid conditions here, Fourth and fourth,
[24:57] Speaker 12: an entire division on the line.
[24:59] Speaker 8: In one plot, touchdown, Are you kidding me?
[25:02] Speaker 16: We're tied?
[25:03] Speaker 12: The iceman, come it, but you're not yet. Take it
[25:06] Speaker 12: away over time. The Bears only need a field goal
[25:09] Speaker 12: to win. Williams going a good.
[25:17] Speaker 10: Take it.
[25:22] Speaker 1: The Bears took a significant step towards leaving Illinois when
[25:25] Speaker 1: their board of directors voted Thursday to advance their stadium
[25:28] Speaker 1: development in Hammond, Indiana, team releasing a statement saint in part,
[25:32] Speaker 1: we believe a world class stadium project in Hammond will
[25:35] Speaker 1: transform the region.
[25:37] Speaker 2: It's not over.
[25:38] Speaker 1: Illinois still could make a move, but noted Bears fan
[25:41] Speaker 1: Kyle Brandt is already bracing for impact. As he wrote
[25:45] Speaker 1: on social media, I just recorded a rant about the
[25:47] Speaker 1: Bears news, but I am keeping it in drafts because
[25:50] Speaker 1: the move is not official. I hope I can delete
[25:53] Speaker 1: it sometime soon. Never deleting anything that crosses in his mind.
[25:58] Speaker 1: Is our friend Adam Rank, also a noted Bears fan,
[26:01] Speaker 1: who is here right now with his weekend or what's
[26:03] Speaker 1: up Rank?
[26:04] Speaker 7: Oh, thank you so much, hos.
[26:05] Speaker 15: Yes, I also want to ramp, but I will get
[26:08] Speaker 15: to that in just a moment, because I wanted to
[26:10] Speaker 15: start off this week talking about Dylan Gabriel.
[26:13] Speaker 2: What a week it has been for him.
[26:14] Speaker 15: His team traded away Miles Garrett but brought in Jared Verse,
[26:18] Speaker 15: which is awesome until he shows up in practice with
[26:22] Speaker 15: your number on it. That can't feel good. Well, here's
[26:25] Speaker 15: the thing, though, I have to I want to make
[26:26] Speaker 15: this perfectly clear. Dylan Gabriel did not did not say
[26:31] Speaker 15: he was going to try to extort Jared Verse. That
[26:34] Speaker 15: story is not true as much as we wanted it
[26:37] Speaker 15: to be. But still it has to suck going out
[26:41] Speaker 15: to practice seeing somebody.
[26:42] Speaker 4: Wearing your number.
[26:42] Speaker 15: But this is the kind of thing that happens in
[26:44] Speaker 15: workplaces all over the country. For instance, when I started
[26:48] Speaker 15: at the NFL Network, I wasn't allowed to make eye
[26:50] Speaker 15: contact with Scott Hansen for three years. But it's cool now.
[26:54] Speaker 15: I saw him in the hall the other day. He's like, Hey,
[26:56] Speaker 15: what's up, Aaron, it's all going good speak. And another
[27:00] Speaker 15: quarterback news, Kyler Murray and JJ McCarthy are in battled
[27:05] Speaker 15: in a in a in a duel to be the
[27:08] Speaker 15: next quarterback of the Minnesota Vikings. Their coach, Kevin O'Connell
[27:11] Speaker 15: commended both the men, saying, listen, they have been absolute
[27:15] Speaker 15: professionals through this whole thing, and we're able to obtain
[27:19] Speaker 15: this footage of the two quarterbacks battling each other.
[27:23] Speaker 4: Take a look.
[27:26] Speaker 8: Sorry, I can't listen, No, I said, I listen.
[27:29] Speaker 15: I will sit here, I will make jokes, and yet
[27:31] Speaker 15: I will be drafting Kyler Murray in all my fantasy
[27:34] Speaker 15: leagues this year because I can't help myself.
[27:36] Speaker 6: I think that actually could be really good.
[27:38] Speaker 15: In speed of fantasy football, our guy Dan Campbell, Oh,
[27:41] Speaker 15: I love Dan Campbell for this.
[27:43] Speaker 4: Dan Campbell came out.
[27:44] Speaker 15: This week and said that Jamar Jamiir Gibbs excuse me,
[27:48] Speaker 15: will be the bell cow running back of the Detroit Lions.
[27:51] Speaker 15: Oh you, it's not gonna be Isaiah pa Checko. But
[27:53] Speaker 15: still when you hear this news, it's awesome, which is
[27:56] Speaker 15: why Jamiir Gibbs will be my number one overall pick
[27:59] Speaker 15: in fantasy this season is there's no joke here. I'm
[28:02] Speaker 15: just really excited that a coach like this will embrace
[28:06] Speaker 15: some fantasy football.
[28:07] Speaker 4: But let's get to our main story.
[28:08] Speaker 15: The Chicago Bears did announce that they're closer than ever
[28:13] Speaker 15: to moving to Indiana. The Board of Directors and animously
[28:16] Speaker 15: whatever they did, Oh no, they're going to Indiana, which
[28:20] Speaker 15: is really huge news with a bunch of people who
[28:23] Speaker 15: don't go to Bears games, don't support the Bears. People
[28:27] Speaker 15: who support the forty nine ers are texting me, like,
[28:30] Speaker 15: your team plays in Santa Clara, why don't you back off?
[28:33] Speaker 15: But still, as Tom just said a moment ago, this
[28:36] Speaker 15: is far from over. And if there is somebody who
[28:38] Speaker 15: should know of something a thing or two about being
[28:41] Speaker 15: far from over, it's Caleb Williams. Because we know last
[28:45] Speaker 15: year in the playoffs, when it seemed like the Bears
[28:48] Speaker 15: were going to lose, it was far from over, which
[28:50] Speaker 15: is why Caleb Williams is now the cover athlete of
[28:54] Speaker 15: Madden this season, which is truly amazing. And you know what,
[28:58] Speaker 15: for all Bear fans who've had a through quarterbacks like
[29:01] Speaker 15: Cade McNown and Mike Glennon and Jonathan Quinn, you deserve this.
[29:05] Speaker 4: Think about this.
[29:06] Speaker 15: The three best Bears quarterbacks of my lifetime have been
[29:10] Speaker 15: Jim McMahon, Jay Cutler and Walter Payton on the half
[29:14] Speaker 15: pack option. That's the list and we should go out
[29:17] Speaker 15: and celebrate it. And by the way, the same haters
[29:18] Speaker 15: who are making fun of us were moving to Indiana
[29:21] Speaker 15: also want to talk about the Madden cover inks? Oh
[29:23] Speaker 15: I'm sorry, are you talking about the same cover inks
[29:25] Speaker 15: that limited CMC to two thousand total yards last season
[29:30] Speaker 15: his seventeen touchdowns?
[29:32] Speaker 4: Was that the jinks?
[29:33] Speaker 2: Get over it?
[29:34] Speaker 15: Because it seems like time and time again. Madden usually
[29:36] Speaker 15: features guys is kind of a lifetime achievement award, whether
[29:39] Speaker 15: it's Barry Sanders or Ray Lewis or Peyton Hill. Why
[29:43] Speaker 15: was Peyton Hillis on the cover of Madden the Dylan
[29:46] Speaker 15: Gabriel of Madden cover boys? But still, by and large,
[29:49] Speaker 15: they don't usually have us sending players, and when they
[29:52] Speaker 15: do it could be pretty good. Marshall Fall Patrick Mahomes
[29:55] Speaker 15: two players who were on the cover of Madden who
[29:58] Speaker 15: ended up going on to win the Super Bowl? Could
[30:00] Speaker 15: Caleb Williams.
[30:01] Speaker 17: Be the third?
[30:02] Speaker 15: I don't know people who who make odds for these things,
[30:05] Speaker 15: say not because the Bears are currently twenty five to
[30:08] Speaker 15: one shots to win the Super Bow, the same odds
[30:11] Speaker 15: as the Dallas Cowboys.
[30:12] Speaker 6: What is going on?
[30:13] Speaker 4: Why is that a thing? Why?
[30:15] Speaker 15: Why are the Bears so far down the list?
[30:16] Speaker 4: It doesn't matter.
[30:17] Speaker 15: But between this the move, all this stuff going on
[30:20] Speaker 15: with the Chicago Bears, there's a lot of Bears news
[30:22] Speaker 15: going on, and you can find out more on the
[30:24] Speaker 15: latest edition of the Sick Podcast with Adam Rank, which
[30:27] Speaker 15: ability we're.
[30:28] Speaker 7: Out of time for you.
[30:30] Speaker 1: Also bold decision to reference Christian McCaffery being on the
[30:33] Speaker 1: Madden cover of the year that he was injured perpetually
[30:35] Speaker 1: and ruined everybody's fantasy seasons.
[30:38] Speaker 8: Good on you.
[30:38] Speaker 1: Saquon was on it last year. It was Saquon what
[30:42] Speaker 1: ever mcaf anyway, we'll see I was rob of the insiders. Yes, Frank,
[30:49] Speaker 1: you're out of time.
[30:51] Speaker 4: Thank you, though, do some googling.
[30:56] Speaker 18: Since very biginn It's always been about winning, and you know,
[30:59] Speaker 18: it's it just breaks down to, you know, the timing
[31:03] Speaker 18: of everything. You know, what does it realistically look like
[31:06] Speaker 18: for you know, to be a winner now and to
[31:10] Speaker 18: have a a opportunity to do that, you know, immediately.
[31:14] Speaker 4: You know, that was an opportunity that was just too
[31:17] Speaker 4: difficult to pass up.
[31:18] Speaker 18: And you know, I always have, you know, love in
[31:20] Speaker 18: my heart for for Cleveland City, the community and all
[31:24] Speaker 18: this players and everything else, but the opportunity to come
[31:28] Speaker 18: here have an immediate and uh profound impact on it
[31:32] Speaker 18: on this team, you know, it.
[31:33] Speaker 4: Was, you know, something I just don't have to move
[31:36] Speaker 4: forward with.
[31:37] Speaker 17: You know, I grew up in Cleveland, so you know,
[31:38] Speaker 17: I've seen all the success the Miles has had and
[31:40] Speaker 17: you know, got a lot of respect for the player
[31:42] Speaker 17: that he is, and I think, you know, when that
[31:44] Speaker 17: game rolls around, I'm sure we'll have a bunch of
[31:45] Speaker 17: chip blocks for him an outside zone.
[31:47] Speaker 4: I think, you know, no matter who we're playing, you know,
[31:49] Speaker 4: we're going with the same mentality.
[31:51] Speaker 17: And for me as a competitor, it's like, whoever we're playing,
[31:54] Speaker 17: they're going to get my best shot. So I think,
[31:56] Speaker 17: you know, Miles is a great player, and kudos to
[31:58] Speaker 17: the Rams for getting a for getting getting a dog
[32:01] Speaker 17: in Miles Garrett. But you know, when you play the Seahawks,
[32:04] Speaker 17: you know we got you know, eleven guys on the
[32:07] Speaker 17: field at a time, They're gonna play really physical and
[32:09] Speaker 17: play together. So you know, we're excited for the challenge
[32:12] Speaker 17: and uh, you know, nothing different than what it's been before.
[32:15] Speaker 4: You know we'll be ready for it.
[32:16] Speaker 19: I mean, with such an elite edge rusher like that,
[32:19] Speaker 19: he's a guy that you have to you have to
[32:21] Speaker 19: slow down, you have to chip him, you have to
[32:23] Speaker 19: know exactly where he is at all times. And you
[32:26] Speaker 19: know he's going to be a main focus for us
[32:28] Speaker 19: when we play those you know, the rams that week
[32:30] Speaker 19: and you know, hopefully we can slow him down and
[32:32] Speaker 19: you know, be able to slow him down as much
[32:34] Speaker 19: as we can so we can get the ball out
[32:36] Speaker 19: fast because he's a he's a problem when he gets going.
[32:39] Speaker 20: Yeah, I mean, good for them, you know, I mean
[32:43] Speaker 20: they want it now, right, I mean so yeah, I
[32:48] Speaker 20: honestly I had none. I mean it's he's a hell
[32:50] Speaker 20: of a player versus hell of a player, you know,
[32:54] Speaker 20: and they're two totally different players. But you know, that
[32:58] Speaker 20: was what that was what they felt like they needed
[33:00] Speaker 20: to do, and good for them.
[33:02] Speaker 4: Man, And that was the case in this is is where.
[33:08] Speaker 21: You know, it got to a certain point where we
[33:11] Speaker 21: looked at, uh, you know, what the trade details were,
[33:15] Speaker 21: and we asked ourselves.
[33:17] Speaker 4: Okay, you know, do we hold here.
[33:22] Speaker 21: Regardless of you know, how you know, because of how
[33:25] Speaker 21: emotionally right it felt, or do we ultimately make a
[33:29] Speaker 21: decision that that you know, we think has a huge
[33:32] Speaker 21: benefit you know, to the team in both the short
[33:35] Speaker 21: you know, and long term. I'd always told myself that
[33:38] Speaker 21: if you know, we were ever in a position where
[33:41] Speaker 21: we were going to trade miles, three things would have
[33:43] Speaker 21: to be true. Number One, it would have to have
[33:45] Speaker 21: short and long term benefits. Number Two, as part of
[33:49] Speaker 21: the trade, a young cost controlled star at a premium
[33:53] Speaker 21: position would have to be included. And the third piece
[33:55] Speaker 21: is that there would have to be premium draft capital.
[33:59] Speaker 21: And there's a very small set of you know, deals
[34:03] Speaker 21: that really satisfy those constraints. So when it got to
[34:07] Speaker 21: the point with our negotiations with the Rams, when you know,
[34:10] Speaker 21: all those things were satisfied, it really, you know, caused
[34:13] Speaker 21: us to just take a step back and think about,
[34:16] Speaker 21: you know, really think about the decision.
[34:18] Speaker 22: I love the whole vibe of l A, Los Angeles
[34:20] Speaker 22: and Rams, you know, and uh, it was upset, and
[34:23] Speaker 22: I was upset for you know, a good little bit
[34:25] Speaker 22: of time.
[34:25] Speaker 4: But when you're an athlete. You understand the nature of
[34:28] Speaker 4: business people.
[34:29] Speaker 22: Everybody does what they think is best for their business,
[34:31] Speaker 22: and you know, that's the situation that I'm in.
[34:33] Speaker 4: I'm happy to be a part of the bounds, you know.
[34:34] Speaker 22: I'm happy that they believed to me and they were
[34:36] Speaker 22: able to make that trade and bring me here, you know,
[34:38] Speaker 22: be with my teammates, be with everybody here. And I
[34:40] Speaker 22: truly do believe in everybody in the locker room. But
[34:42] Speaker 22: it was it was upset in that face. But you know,
[34:44] Speaker 22: you got two choices that you can either work, you
[34:46] Speaker 22: can give up. And I ain't never been acquitted.
[34:50] Speaker 3: You know.
[34:50] Speaker 23: Last night was like Christians.
[34:52] Speaker 4: You know, I said another toy four hours.
[34:55] Speaker 23: So yeah, I'm just I'm excited, man, I'm the key
[35:03] Speaker 23: to me is just static right now.
[35:07] Speaker 2: What is it about the Patriots that have captivated you
[35:10] Speaker 2: since you were a child. That's a great question. Oh
[35:13] Speaker 2: my god, I'm good at my job.
[35:16] Speaker 23: That was a great question.
[35:17] Speaker 11: But in the simplished form, my older cousin was a
[35:20] Speaker 11: big Patriots fan, and at the time, you know, I
[35:22] Speaker 11: went to grow up and be like young man and
[35:24] Speaker 11: as I can't remember walking, I was a Patriots fan
[35:28] Speaker 11: because I wanted to be like my becausin and so
[35:30] Speaker 11: ever since then, through and through Patriot, Patriot, Patriot all
[35:35] Speaker 11: my years, and I remember playing people football and wearing
[35:38] Speaker 11: Tom Brady jersey playing running back, and you know, doing
[35:42] Speaker 11: it over and over again every.
[35:43] Speaker 23: Day, watching to go home, watching jersey put it back
[35:45] Speaker 23: on They's day and I was playing for Star with ratings,
[35:47] Speaker 23: you know.
[35:48] Speaker 24: So yeah, so truly truthfully, anything that the Patriot's ever experienced,
[35:53] Speaker 24: you know, throughout.
[35:54] Speaker 23: The years I experienced. You know, I went through every.
[35:56] Speaker 4: High end love with him.
[35:58] Speaker 1: So so then what's it going to be like for
[36:01] Speaker 1: you to put the helmet on, be the guy that
[36:03] Speaker 1: can make the catch and ride the highs and lows?
[36:06] Speaker 23: Ya I've already put the helmet on, you know, so
[36:08] Speaker 23: this is I got.
[36:12] Speaker 5: Here.
[36:15] Speaker 24: But just to be that in that uh, in the
[36:18] Speaker 24: arena in Jellette Stadium, it's gonna mean everything to me.
[36:21] Speaker 24: Obviously I've played it before, but just to wear the
[36:23] Speaker 24: uniform and put all that on, and you know it's
[36:25] Speaker 24: gonna be it's gonna be so stressure.
[36:27] Speaker 4: When did we get this rug right here?
[36:29] Speaker 2: Where did this come from?
[36:30] Speaker 6: Uh?
[36:31] Speaker 4: Game from Amazon?
[36:33] Speaker 23: But definitely UH a few years ago it's been.
[36:37] Speaker 2: Here while you were an Eagle. You had this rug
[36:39] Speaker 2: in your house.
[36:40] Speaker 6: Absolutely, you got to tell me why.
[36:42] Speaker 23: You know, some things just never changed.
[36:44] Speaker 16: You know.
[36:44] Speaker 4: This is this is this is my team. This is
[36:46] Speaker 4: my team since I was the kids, so it didn't matter.
[36:50] Speaker 23: I mean I was doing I was supposed to be
[36:51] Speaker 23: doing as an Eagle, but this is this is it.
[36:57] Speaker 25: Just trying to improve our football team every possible away,
[37:02] Speaker 25: you know, give our offense multiple weapons to build on
[37:05] Speaker 25: what we did last year. And I think having you know,
[37:10] Speaker 25: experience with the person you know, to be able to
[37:14] Speaker 25: add an accomplished NFL football player, receiver, premium player at
[37:18] Speaker 25: his position, but somebody that that we also don't feel
[37:22] Speaker 25: strongly about as as a person and a competitor as
[37:24] Speaker 25: a teammate. You know, I appreciate Elliott for for being
[37:29] Speaker 25: able to work and get that done.
[37:30] Speaker 26: Just talking to my mom and I was like, man,
[37:32] Speaker 26: I'm still in awe. You know, I'm trying to adjust
[37:36] Speaker 26: and you know, walking up the heel with the.
[37:38] Speaker 23: With the uniform on, I was like, man, this is
[37:41] Speaker 23: this is this is this is this is real?
[37:43] Speaker 10: You know.
[37:44] Speaker 26: And I called myself one one point and practice wasn't
[37:49] Speaker 26: paying attention because I was.
[37:51] Speaker 4: Like, I'm a patriot, you know, you know, and uh,
[37:55] Speaker 4: just trying to take it out.
[37:56] Speaker 26: Then as much as I can obviously, you know, you know,
[37:59] Speaker 26: I got to work quickly. But he's just his lovers
[38:03] Speaker 26: to it, and like I said, I'm gonna joying it.
[38:05] Speaker 23: It's it's obviously I notice.
[38:06] Speaker 4: A heaven, but you know it's close to it.
[38:09] Speaker 27: I think, yes, we can move on now. I think
[38:12] Speaker 27: most of us that have been here the last six
[38:14] Speaker 27: weeks we have moved on, just from we have enough
[38:18] Speaker 27: to worry about, you know, off again, getting over last
[38:22] Speaker 27: year and then coming in here and learning a new
[38:24] Speaker 27: scheme and new concepts, like we had to press on
[38:27] Speaker 27: and so that's what we were doing. I think this
[38:29] Speaker 27: is more of a you know that sounds terrible, but like,
[38:33] Speaker 27: thank god it's over.
[38:34] Speaker 4: You know.
[38:35] Speaker 27: It was the slow pain just is he and is
[38:37] Speaker 27: he out? You know, we didn't really know, and that
[38:40] Speaker 27: really wasn't our focus as a team. Our team, especially
[38:43] Speaker 27: at the offense.
[38:47] Speaker 4: They gotta let o help back. Jewry looked at through
[38:49] Speaker 4: and he's done what he's got Beckham and Beckham will
[38:58] Speaker 4: run around the defense for a time.
[39:01] Speaker 7: Then you guys, joy the tax touch down.
[39:07] Speaker 8: Over the middle. Oh dyll pickum splits defenders.
[39:12] Speaker 13: Good bye pack up touchdown Giants wide open, Bye bye
[39:18] Speaker 13: pick um touchdown Giants.
[39:22] Speaker 16: Bar Thurrows pack up a dolly catch?
[39:26] Speaker 12: What a catch?
[39:27] Speaker 13: O Ton Packer Junior for Giants touchdown up. You have
[39:31] Speaker 13: got to be chiming up, girl, so Giants.
[39:38] Speaker 7: Le man on the slant pickup.
[39:44] Speaker 4: Touchdowns sixty six yards.
[39:48] Speaker 8: Down the sideline'll build back.
[39:49] Speaker 7: I'm get to make the cat.
[39:50] Speaker 4: What little pickle?
[39:51] Speaker 7: What's back?
[39:52] Speaker 26: Food?
[39:52] Speaker 8: Field to the forty till thirty till twenty.
[39:55] Speaker 7: Hand put down says eighty seven yards? Thank when did cat?
[40:01] Speaker 4: How in the world? Oh my goodness. And Brandon Carra
[40:05] Speaker 4: was back here.
[40:06] Speaker 6: I mean he is.
[40:08] Speaker 7: Insane.
[40:09] Speaker 4: How do you make that catch?
[40:10] Speaker 7: Oh my goodness?
[40:16] Speaker 5: He is back to the absolute delight of Giants fans.
[40:19] Speaker 5: There is obj at Giants OTA's And that, of course,
[40:24] Speaker 5: was not the only big news of the week.
[40:29] Speaker 4: Half the fun, only fun.
[40:32] Speaker 2: He is Sack Miles Garrett.
[40:37] Speaker 7: Miles Garrett is inevitable.
[40:40] Speaker 8: Keep a man, It's fun to watch.
[40:41] Speaker 4: We don't get your record to.
[40:42] Speaker 16: Day big en it Les Garrett so new single season sack.
[40:53] Speaker 14: Hey, you can bring up all the guys in this
[40:55] Speaker 14: year's draft, in last year's draft, and next year's draft.
[40:58] Speaker 4: None of them are Miles Garrett. I would trade anything
[41:01] Speaker 4: to get in.
[41:02] Speaker 15: Absolute Locksuster Rams are trading for Miles Garrett.
[41:09] Speaker 4: I would say.
[41:10] Speaker 28: It's a whole lot different from the NFC versus the AFC,
[41:13] Speaker 28: and I think everyone knows that. So I look at
[41:16] Speaker 28: AFC's like, you KNOWFC is cool, Like there's a couple,
[41:20] Speaker 28: there's a couple of sharks, but the NFC is shark infested,
[41:24] Speaker 28: you know what I mean. Like it's different football. It's
[41:27] Speaker 28: like playoffootball every week.
[41:30] Speaker 5: This is really real too. Aj Brown is finally a Patriot.
[41:34] Speaker 5: There he is with his new number one jersey for
[41:38] Speaker 5: the new number one receiver.
[41:41] Speaker 1: One hundred days from right now, you will have just
[41:44] Speaker 1: finished watching Scott Hansen on Red Zone, but getting ready
[41:47] Speaker 1: for Sunday Night Football. That's right, first Sunday of the
[41:51] Speaker 1: NFL season, one hundred days away. Sooner than that, we've
[41:56] Speaker 1: got training camps kicking off next month. We've gotten many
[42:00] Speaker 1: camps all over the wheels, all over the league. Next week, Judie,
[42:03] Speaker 1: what something you're looking forward to seeing?
[42:07] Speaker 5: I am hoping to be out at the Giants so
[42:09] Speaker 5: I am looking forward to seeing how OBJ looks in person.
[42:14] Speaker 1: We will be out at many camps, also have some
[42:16] Speaker 1: other new and cool stuff coming. What could some of
[42:18] Speaker 1: that new and cool stuff be that we're doing on
[42:20] Speaker 1: the show, doing it to find out? Seeing him
