What happens when someone who never really believed in the paranormal suddenly finds themselves running a haunted location? This week on Pursuit of the Paranormal, Greg and Ash are joined by Scott Kaye from The Daily Detour Paranormalfor a brilliant conversation about how a spontaneous paranormal investigation turned into an obsession — and eventually led Scott and the team to take over The Old Vicarage in Wakefield as their own investigation location. Scott takes us right back to the beginning, including an early investigation at 30 East Drive, strange REM pod and music-box activity, and the bizarre story of a set of rosary beads that repeatedly disappeared, returned damaged and ultimately ended up locked away in the team’s paranormal museum. We also get into The Old Vicarage itself and the stories surrounding the building — reported shadow figures, unexplained whistling and knocking, the feeling of being watched, physical sensations experienced by investigators and the story of a supposed Victorian boy named Jack associated with the basement. [0:10] Junction Inn. And I heard what I believed at
[0:14] the time. And to be honest, I still believe that
[0:16] it was a young girl crying. I heard it. But as
[0:21] that happened, a REM pod in the other room has
[0:26] just started beeping. That's the one moment where
[0:29] I've kind of gone. I can't I want to go on You're

[1:18] how they go into the paranormal Haunted object
[1:22] wanted objects. Yeah, so that's been fascinating
[1:28] but but before we talk any more about the intro
[1:34] today is a big day for you oh yes so we're recording
[1:42] this on monday the 14th of september what happened
[1:46] today ash what's happened today tell me all about
[1:48] it today we iUFO identified launched UKUFO database
[1:55] .co .uk which is a fully comprehensive online
[2:00] database of sightings reported in the UK since
[2:03] 2021. It's fully searched we've got interactive
[2:07] map fully searched world database statistics
[2:09] page so you can go on you can just put in things
[2:12] like you can just search the whole map as it
[2:14] is there's thousands of sightings on there you
[2:15] can zoom in move around you can put your postcode
[2:17] in it takes the sightings anyway your postcode
[2:20] is You can just search like triangle leads in
[2:24] 2021 and it'll just bring up them sightings that
[2:26] relate to that. You can search anything, you
[2:28] can filter it by anything and it'll just bring
[2:30] up them sightings. So any research, anyone interested
[2:33] in UFOs in the UK, any sort of research project
[2:36] are just interested in what sightings have been
[2:37] seen where. Each sighting has its own page, so
[2:40] you can just view all information about the page,
[2:43] what evidence is with it, where the source is,
[2:45] the witness report, everything, time, date, shape.
[2:48] Well, it's seeing how long it's all this stuff
[2:50] is all on there So that launched today. They're
[2:54] very stressful. They've been very stressful few
[2:56] months I've worked enough now particularly for
[2:58] the past three or four weeks because it has been
[3:00] very stressful It's been I gave myself a hard
[3:03] date of the 14th because I had to national press
[3:06] outlets wanting to talk about it as I So I had
[3:10] to embargo it. I sent more information in the
[3:12] past couple of weeks. They had to embargo it
[3:13] until today. They said do not buy anything until
[3:15] the website is launched. So I won't be able to
[3:17] go on it while the website is actually live.
[3:20] So I was like, yeah, this is the day and I did
[3:21] it. There's things to come for the rest of the
[3:24] year. I'll trade 27 big things coming, even bigger,
[3:26] make it even better. But yeah, UK UFO database.

[4:15] Kay from the Daily Detour paranormal and he talks
[4:20] to us about A location that he and the team have
[4:25] taken over called the old Vicarage in Wakefield
[4:28] And we talked to him about everything and a surprise
[4:33] object that they have there that has been seen
[4:39] elsewhere. I won't say any more. You have to
[4:41] listen to to get the detail. But yeah, so if

[5:31] there. So this is, it's a new one that we've
[5:35] got, so it's a young boy, it's supposed to be,
[5:40] I've got the notes here, but yeah it's a young
[5:45] boy that's attached to this picture, it doesn't
[5:50] say whether the young boy is actually the boy
[5:52] in the photo, But what we do is, the reason why
[5:56] it's in my house, is we actually do bits and
[5:59] bats with them first before we take them over
[6:02] to the Vicarage, which I'm sure we'll get into
[6:03] a bit later. I'd love to tell you loads of stories
[6:08] about it, but we try... When we get them sent,
[6:13] we say, just give us the basics. Don't tell us
[6:15] too much because we don't want to go in there
[6:18] with an idea and expecting something and then
[6:21] being disappointed in the long run. yeah currently
[6:24] under investigation so we say um but yeah that's
[6:29] the only the only one that's in my house i'm
[6:31] not allowed to bring dolls home need me partners
[6:35] terrified of them so it were it were interesting
[6:39] when bob the clown got delivered bob the clown
[6:44] Yes, so again, I'm pretty sure I've got a lot
[6:48] more details about him for you later on, but
[6:51] quick short of Bob the Clown. Bob the Clown was
[6:54] known for being on haunted hunts. He was down
[6:58] in Chester at the, I always butcher this name,
[7:02] I think it's the old King's Head. My haunted
[7:07] hotel. Yes, that's it. And he was in there for
[7:13] a while. we got him through a third party that
[7:17] was involved with them and yeah we've had some
[7:22] interesting stuff with him but i'll save that
[7:24] for when we get into the museum stuff cool cool
[7:28] right so yeah so uh and also as we talked about
[7:33] you've got a Pedro Beardo there yes good old
[7:37] Beardo inspiration but um probably for not what
[7:41] you think Now he's a nice guy. He's a nice guy.
[7:45] Yeah, so going back then so we'll come up to
[7:50] like modern day in a minute What got you to where
[7:56] you are today? So take us back to how you got
[7:58] into the paranormal or that kind of jazz? So
[8:03] It's a bit it's a bit I find this one really
[8:06] fascinating to tell so I I've always been involved
[8:09] in like kind of the media side of things and
[8:12] a lot of different hobbies, should we say. So
[8:17] when I was younger, I used to make short films
[8:19] with my friend. Then I moved into doing a podcast.
[8:24] I did a podcast with my friend and then I ended
[8:27] up doing music. So I did music for quite a long
[8:30] time, a good four to five years. I kind of got
[8:35] into the paranormal. by accident, and it was
[8:39] kind of, it wasn't supposed to happen. So my
[8:43] friend Carl, who works alongside me at the Daily
[8:47] Detour, he was just asking everybody to go a
[8:52] 30 year drive with him. Now, up until this point,
[8:56] I was always very much like, I can't, I ain't
[8:59] got time for this. You know, I'm working on my
[9:02] music. Like, I'm not interested, mate. But it
[9:06] got to a point where he just kept asking and
[9:08] kept asking. So I'm like, do you know what, right?
[9:11] I'm not paying for it. He's asked me to go with
[9:13] him. What's the worst that can happen? You'll
[9:17] find out the worst that can happen soon. So we
[9:21] went to 30 years driving and we live streamed
[9:24] the whole, oh no, we didn't live stream the first
[9:26] one, did we? Yes, we live streamed the first
[9:28] one, I've been twice now. So we live streamed
[9:30] the first one because I didn't, I won't film
[9:32] in it. And I kind of left there with more questions
[9:38] than answers, like not a lot happened. I'm not
[9:42] going to sit here and say that there were loads
[9:44] of activity, but there were certain things that
[9:48] I felt and kind of how other people around me
[9:53] were feeling at the same time. Now, if you'd
[9:56] have asked any of us walking into there, is the
[9:58] paranormal real? No, absolutely not. Walking
[10:01] out of there, it was... what's just happened.
[10:07] But then I didn't do anything for, I want to
[10:09] say about a year. I didn't, I wasn't involved
[10:12] in it. We just carried on with my music and I
[10:15] did a big live show in Leeds and I decided at
[10:19] that point that that was, that were it. I was
[10:21] done with music after that, which takes us to
[10:26] December of last year. Now in December of last
[10:30] year. Might have been a bit earlier than that.
[10:32] It was back in the last year. I basically said
[10:35] to Carl look I've got this idea and I'm gonna
[10:39] do a full YouTube channel around the paranormal
[10:43] and And he kind of it kind of lapped it off because
[10:48] it was always one of them things where it's like
[10:49] Yeah, you say this all the time, but you don't
[10:51] do I'm known for doing details, but which will
[10:54] whether names kind of come from and And it kind
[10:59] of just nothing come of it. But in the background,
[11:01] I would design in every hour doing all the logos,
[11:04] the plans and all that stuff. And then I think
[11:08] we it was around February. We actually filmed
[11:13] the releases first video within a two day turnaround,
[11:17] which I'm never doing again, because not a chance.
[11:20] But yeah, we did that. We did the first we went
[11:23] to a pub that Carl actually worked in. So there
[11:28] were this whole turnaround within two days and
[11:30] I have been hooked ever since. Absolutely hooked.
[11:34] I can't, it annoys my partner because I live
[11:38] and breathe it every day. Well, yeah, that's
[11:44] how we got it. So all in all, pretty new to the
[11:53] paranormal world then. Very, very new. And the
[11:56] fact that you were, I can see the certificate,
[11:58] is that the certificate behind you from the weekends?
[12:00] You were nominated for an award at the weekend.
[12:04] Tell us about that. Absolutely. I'm super proud
[12:07] of this. We were nominated for emerging investigators.
[12:10] So the Daily Detail were nominated for emerging
[12:13] investigator. Massive shock to us. I personally
[12:19] put it down to the building that we now look
[12:22] after. I'm still trying to understand it now.
[12:29] You know, I look at all these people that, you
[12:33] know, was at that event and compared to what
[12:36] they do on YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram,
[12:40] all these in terms of the investigating side
[12:44] of it, they are doing a hundred times more things
[12:48] than we are. You know, I think I've released
[12:51] six videos and I just, I didn't understand it.
[12:56] It was only when I looked back and thought about
[12:59] how quickly we've gone from releasing his first
[13:05] video to taking over the Vicarage to now being
[13:11] here with all the plans that we've got coming
[13:14] up that I realized, well no, maybe, you know,
[13:18] people have probably seen the work that we've
[13:20] put in. They've probably seen that we've come
[13:22] from not having a clue what we're doing and we
[13:25] still don't To obviously where it is now. And
[13:29] so I'm really really proud of that and It's the
[13:32] one thing that it'll be forever forever on my
[13:36] desk That's a great achievement. There's a great
[13:39] achievement. So congratulations on that and You
[13:44] say that you are hooked on the paranormal So
[13:49] yes, you went 30 drive. So if we go back to 30
[13:53] drive, then you went you went back there Tell
[13:56] us what happened there. We've we've been ourselves
[14:00] in about two or three times now Ash has been
[14:04] so Yeah, let us know So I will I'll tell you
[14:09] the story as I knew it back then and then I'm
[14:12] gonna Now I investigate I look at it differently,
[14:15] but I'll tell you how it happens as well. And
[14:17] so we we was upstairs and we was in different
[14:20] rooms now we had set up on the stairs we had
[14:24] a music box at the top and we had a rem pod at
[14:27] the bottom of the stairs um and the rem pod went
[14:32] off now obviously we've we've never experienced
[14:35] this so if anyone were wearing headphones whilst
[14:39] watching that they they won't be wearing headphones
[14:42] anymore um because of course we'd heard it we've
[14:45] jumped oh my god oh my god this is happening
[14:48] and we've gone to the landing area. As we've
[14:53] got to the landing area, the REM pod stops, and
[14:56] like somebody had walked up the stairs, the music
[14:59] box just started playing. Now, yeah, obviously
[15:03] now I do it, I look at it a little bit differently,
[15:05] but on command, whatever it was, was stepping
[15:11] away from the music box. and back towards the
[15:15] music box. It's the first video on my TikTok,
[15:20] so we clipped it. It looks like it's filmed on
[15:23] a potato, but it was the first clip that we ever
[15:27] took from that live stream. And I just put it
[15:29] up just for fun. But it was one of the moments
[15:34] where I'm like, is this real? Is this like something
[15:37] just actually happened? but then the weirdest
[15:40] part was I used to have a set of rosary beads
[15:45] and I wore these rosary beads they were a gift
[15:48] from a family member so I wore them all the time
[15:53] and whilst we was there they had snapped at the
[15:58] back off my neck but the way that it snapped
[16:01] is you know how the little hoops will connect
[16:03] together if you pull them apart one of them had
[16:06] pronged They were perfect. There were no, there
[16:10] were no break in the metal pieces at all. Now,
[16:14] even at this point, I thought someone is messing
[16:17] about with me or whatever, like, I can't be bothered
[16:19] with this. I'm going to sleep. We all, four fully
[16:23] grown men sleeping together on a floor, but it
[16:26] was great. But the day after, they were put back
[16:33] together. Now, I still, to this point, genuinely
[16:38] believe it was one of the boys messing about,
[16:41] to this point. I took these rosary beads home.
[16:46] Now, I've lived in three different houses whilst
[16:49] having these rosary beads. In all three of them
[16:53] houses, the rosary beads would disappear and
[16:57] they would come back with beads, like, gone,
[17:01] so beads had been taken off. When I lived in
[17:05] the first house, we didn't have any pets, so
[17:07] it was kind of like weird, but I've got kids.
[17:10] Probably just messing about, pulled it off. Then
[17:13] I moved into another house where we had two dogs.
[17:17] This was at my parents' house, at my mum's house,
[17:20] sorry, where we had, she's got two dogs, and
[17:23] again, it kept disappearing. We had to find it,
[17:25] be it to be missing, so on and so forth. I moved
[17:28] into this house that I'm in now, and this is
[17:30] where it kinda made me go. Hang on a minute.
[17:35] I lost these rosaries, so I lost them this time.
[17:38] It wasn't where, like, I'd not put them somewhere
[17:41] and then they'd disappear. I fully lost them,
[17:43] or I thought I'd fully lost them. And I have
[17:45] a drawer that's, like, as you walk in my door.
[17:48] Now, this is a drawer that we go in every day.
[17:51] And one day, I just opened it, and I just found
[17:55] it in the drawer. It's just a cross now with
[17:59] a couple of beads off the end of it. Just there.
[18:02] Like, and I'm like, I don't understand that.
[18:07] To the point where I am that convinced that I
[18:10] brought someone home with me, that is now in
[18:12] the museum, staying there, it's never coming
[18:14] out. But yeah, it was like, we didn't get any
[18:20] activity or anything like that, like nothing
[18:22] happened in the house, it was just kept disappearing
[18:24] and coming back. The part that made it even more
[18:28] interesting is them rows that cross turned up.
[18:32] three weeks before we went back to Thirtieth
[18:35] Drive. Yeah, that's my Thirtieth Drive story.
[18:45] Interesting. So it's funny because when you talk
[18:49] about where things are at Thirtieth Drive, pretty
[18:51] much everybody will know. When you say you had
[18:54] a thing at the top of the stairs, Rampart at
[18:55] the top of the stairs. So the bottom, everybody
[18:58] can picture. where all this stuff is. So where
[19:02] were you guys? Were you guys upstairs at the
[19:04] time or were you downstairs? Yeah so we were
[19:06] upstairs and we was at the, so you see on the
[19:10] video I'm behind the music box and the music
[19:13] box is facing like kind of on a diagonal way,
[19:16] like kind of diagonally face towards the stairs.
[19:19] Obviously we couldn't have it that way because
[19:21] of the wall. But again now This is where I go
[19:28] to the invest the side of me. Now that investigates
[19:31] that could have been absolutely. And if it could
[19:33] have been the light passing, it could have been,
[19:34] oh, um, but back then it was very much like,
[19:37] Oh no, someone's getting me. Um, but yeah, like
[19:41] the cross thing genuinely, I do not have, I don't,
[19:46] I just don't get it apart from someone messing
[19:47] with me. I don't understand it. So you mentioned
[19:52] like with the rosary beads and potentially that
[19:56] something may come back and you got the haunted
[19:58] photo of the boy and you mentioned other sort
[20:01] of objects what's your take on kind of attachments
[20:04] and do you think that objects can be haunted
[20:07] and have these attachments to them okay so this
[20:11] might sound odd because i collect them so i have
[20:15] an odd obsession with collecting supposedly haunted
[20:20] objects however I am yet to be fully convinced
[20:25] that something is attached to them. You know,
[20:30] like people that investigate me sometimes get
[20:32] quite annoyed because I will sit there and go,
[20:36] well, yeah, that could have been anything. Right
[20:43] now, I'd say no. I'm not convinced that something
[20:45] is attached to that picture, for example. I'm
[20:48] not 100 % convinced. That's fair. So kind of
[20:54] on that, you mentioned when you talk about the
[20:56] beads, uh, that in the museum. Yeah. So is that,
[21:00] you've got a museum in your house, but what do
[21:02] you mean when you say sort of museum? Okay. So
[21:05] we have a museum at the old Vicarage in Waitfield.
[21:08] So the old Vicarage is one of, well, it's not
[21:11] one of, we've only got one. Um, it's the building
[21:14] that we run investigations at. in here in Wakefield
[21:19] and one of them rooms is the vault which is a
[21:24] haunted and historic museum so it's part of like
[21:27] it's not a separate thing it's just just sounded
[21:30] cool to give it a name so we gave it a name but
[21:34] yeah it's part of just like your generic normal
[21:37] investigation you come on an investigation you've
[21:39] got access to it and stuff like that. So how
[21:43] did you come into possession so to speak, of
[21:48] running the old Vicarage. Tell us about that.
[21:55] I don't know if everybody does this when I first
[21:59] start out, but I did a little Google search and
[22:02] I just typed in most haunted places in Wakefield
[22:04] because I'm like, I don't know where I'm going.
[22:07] I don't drive, so I'm not getting to ancient
[22:09] RAM in anytime soon. I just searched it up now.
[22:14] There was a bookshop that this building was known
[22:17] for a few years back and I didn't know that this
[22:21] bookshop didn't exist anymore. So I'm emailing
[22:24] this bookshop and getting no response. And then
[22:27] I thought to myself one day, so I work just past
[22:29] city centre, so I thought, do you know what,
[22:30] I'm gonna walk past it and I'm gonna have a look.
[22:32] And I walked past it and I had a look and then
[22:34] I realised, so hang on a minute, there's no bookshop
[22:37] in here anymore. But I know that skate shop.
[22:40] So the skate shop that's in there, 15 years ago,
[22:44] when I got my first ever skateboard, he was the
[22:47] guy that sold me it. So it was kind of a full
[22:49] circle moment. So we reached out to, so he's
[22:54] called Wayne, he won't mind me mentioning his
[22:56] name. I reached out to Wayne and I said, look,
[22:58] man, I'm interested in doing an investigation
[23:02] at the odd vicarage. Is it something you can
[23:04] do? And he politely says, not a chance unless
[23:07] you pay 200 no quid. So. And they were like,
[23:12] but I will pass you on to a lady that works in
[23:16] the shop who she's into this stuff. And she did
[23:20] it for a very, very reasonable price for us.
[23:24] And we did the investigation just like we're
[23:26] doing it. We thought we were just going there
[23:27] for an investigation. So we did the investigation.
[23:31] And then once the investigation finished, it
[23:33] was just an idea. And she turned around and said,
[23:37] Do you know you guys should run investigations
[23:40] from this building and We're just left and kind
[23:44] of like yeah, it's just one of them passing comments
[23:47] and Went home and then I sat down and I thought
[23:51] to myself well actually What if? Right, I'm an
[23:56] opportunist. I like to take opportunities if
[23:58] if this is something that could become something
[24:01] why wouldn't I do it? And I just messaged the
[24:06] owner one day and be like, have you got any units
[24:08] to rent? And he was like, okay, what's the idea?
[24:12] So I want to do paranormal investigations. At
[24:15] first he was like, I don't have a clue what you're
[24:16] on about, but if you're paying rent, you can
[24:18] have it. So we just took the basement at first.
[24:21] So we have access to the main shop in there,
[24:25] which is the biggest room. And we'd had access
[24:28] to the hallway, stairs, kitchen area. and the
[24:33] basement, now we're it. So that's all we had.
[24:36] And we've just slowly took more rooms throughout
[24:40] the building to the point now where we'd have
[24:43] to kick people out of the building to be able
[24:45] to take the rooms. So we're slowly getting there
[24:49] and it was just an opportunity. The only reason
[24:51] why we are in that building now is because we
[24:54] decided to say yeah to an opportunity that were
[24:56] presented to us really. What's the kind of history

[25:12] stories I'm about to tell you are stories that
[25:15] have been passed to me. So take them as you guys
[25:19] want. I'll tell you my thoughts after I've told
[25:22] you the story. There's believed to be shadow
[25:25] figures seen in there. There's believed to be
[25:28] a young Victorian boy named Jack in the basement
[25:32] area and There's a lot of different knocking
[25:36] sounds whistling seems to be very common But
[25:40] the main one that people claim is Feeling like
[25:44] they've been watched and whistling that one a
[25:47] lot quite a few different people have experienced
[25:49] that Being touched is quite common to the point
[25:55] where even so we had our first ever team that
[25:58] we had there was the Ouija Brothers. So they
[26:02] were the first ever team that we took in there
[26:04] and let investigate there. And even one of them
[26:09] were like, I felt like a metal bar across my
[26:11] stomach. And I'm like, OK, that's amazing. But
[26:17] then it whenever in the video. So I'm like, what
[26:19] are you just saying? That would be nice. I don't
[26:21] think so, because they were. I mean, to be fair,
[26:24] I still can't understand. I'm still shocked that
[26:26] they even come down. I've been watching Ouija
[26:28] Brothers for years, so it was a bit impressive.
[26:32] But the actual history side of it, which there
[26:35] is evidence, is it's believed to be around 700
[26:40] years old. So although what you see now is a
[26:43] lot of Victorian alterations, it's believed to
[26:46] go all the way back to the medieval era. Now,
[26:52] Through, obviously, researching it myself and
[26:55] actually looking at the building, there's only
[26:57] one very, very small part of the building, which
[27:01] is an outside chimney breast, where the brickwork
[27:04] can be taken back to the medieval era. Everything
[27:08] else is Victorian alterations. There's nothing
[27:11] else left that's from that era. So when we talk
[27:16] about it, we talk a lot about the Victorian times
[27:18] rather than going too far back. There was believed
[27:23] to be a plague pit and I always say this word
[27:27] wrong, cholera. I think it is a cholera pit at
[27:29] the side of that building. So at the side there's
[27:32] a big dip that goes down and that's where the
[27:35] cholera pit is and plague pit whichever one.
[27:39] There's believed to be a connection to the tunnel
[27:43] system in Wakefield but I'm not allowed to knock
[27:46] walls down so I can't. confirm that I'm not.
[27:51] But in terms of all of the stories I've just
[27:54] told you about the paranormal experiences I have
[27:57] spent countless countless nights in that building
[28:02] and I don't think I've experienced anything like
[28:05] that once. I've been touched on the pocket but
[28:11] again looking back at it could that... the building's
[28:16] falling to bits. So it would be very easy to
[28:20] catch yourself on summit. A spider dropping on
[28:23] your head. I felt at the time what I thought
[28:25] was a hand on my head. Was it that? Was it a
[28:29] spider? So I'm still waiting for that big. Wow,
[28:37] this building is definitely, there's definitely
[28:40] something here. Kyle on the other hand, he's
[28:43] experienced a lot of different things than I
[28:45] have, but of course. there for him to share.
[28:48] But one of the things he told me to say before
[28:52] is the one thing that he has seen is a person
[28:55] in the building that he believed was somebody
[28:59] intruding. So that sounds mad place. It does
[29:07] sound a mad place. Why is everything up north?
[29:09] That's what I don't get. I'm from down south.
[29:13] So You say you haven't experienced anything yourself
[29:19] and you sound quite skeptical or More like a
[29:24] skeptic should I say not skeptical? And then
[29:28] you reference like the first time you went to
[29:30] the East Drive and the REM pod goes off and you're
[29:33] like, oh my god, so yeah now there's there's
[29:38] that sort of Naivety and I mean that in the nicest
[29:41] word when All of us have started off in the paranormal
[29:46] and it's all really scary and things are going
[29:49] on. Like, fuck, what's going on here? Shit, I'm
[29:53] going to be haunted for the rest of my life.
[29:55] I'm going to be possessed. I'll be thrown against
[29:57] a wall or something like that. And then as time
[29:59] goes on, like you've done, you go away. It literally
[30:03] could have been a bit of light going past. It
[30:05] could have been anything happening. So how do
[30:11] you find people that come to the old Vicarage
[30:15] that have not been on, have they been on them
[30:17] before paranormal investigations? Are they kind
[30:20] of like fresh to it? And you can see them coming.
[30:23] It's getting freaked out by everything. So we've
[30:27] had to mixture really. I mean, a lot, everybody
[30:31] that's been to the Vicarage so far. Has some
[30:35] paranormal team or the part of a group or whatever
[30:38] that may be YouTube channel take talk and we
[30:41] haven't had any Newcomers to me say but what
[30:46] I do know is a massive difference is is you get
[30:51] your investigators that will look at things Look
[30:56] at the environmental factors. They'll you know,
[30:59] try and figure some out and then you get the
[31:00] investigators the believe everything. Now, my
[31:07] personal perspective of how things are, I never
[31:12] allow to influence the people that are investigating
[31:17] the building, shall we say. It's their pay breaks,
[31:19] their investigation. Who am I to determine how
[31:22] they believe something? but yeah we haven't in
[31:28] terms of newcomers we don't really get many of
[31:30] them don't get me wrong I have had some people
[31:33] that have screamed and stuff and you know we
[31:35] stay on site because we have to because of the
[31:38] other shops and I mean I'm like what's going
[31:41] on like the meerkat just poking ears up I'm like
[31:43] I want to go but yeah no we aren't we do we we
[31:49] are planning on I won't gonna, I'll just, you
[31:53] guys are the first to hear this. So one of the
[31:55] things that we are planning on doing is we're
[31:57] trying to make the experiences a little bit more
[32:01] inviting for people that have never done it before,
[32:04] but have always had an interest in it. You know,
[32:08] I understood the paranormal, like paranormal
[32:10] equipment, for example, the prices of it, sometimes
[32:13] it's scary how much, you know, a simple music
[32:17] box can cost. and we understand that and we understand
[32:22] that not everybody can just go out and do that
[32:24] or buy them things so we actually provide a boatload
[32:29] of equipment for people to use whilst they're
[32:32] there. Just to kind of give them that push of
[32:35] look you don't need anything just turn up we'll
[32:40] provide you with what you need and if you don't
[32:42] know how to do it I'm in the building anyway
[32:45] I am happy to support you be with you Help you
[32:50] with whatever you want and we're not gonna we're
[32:53] not gonna charge you anything like I'm there
[32:55] anyway, so let's do it But that's something that
[32:59] we're planning on pushing a little bit more and

[33:06] um, it's quite daunting. I remember Myself not
[33:10] really knowing what even what to expect when
[33:13] I went on my first ghost hunt. I say ghost hunt
[33:16] That's what you call it when you don't really
[33:19] know what's going on. But yeah, I went to Warwick
[33:24] Castle for my first proper ghost hunt. I didn't
[33:27] have a clue, even what to expect. I got brought
[33:30] here as a present. I had no idea what was going
[33:33] on. There was people doing Ouija boards. I was
[33:36] freaking out. I was like, what? And I think...
[33:41] Having yeah, like you say having somebody there
[33:44] and people having equipment So I turned up with
[33:46] a torch and that's all right. I turned up with
[33:48] I didn't even know what to bring I didn't know.
[33:51] Yeah, even what to expect. I know warwick castle
[33:54] is obviously history there and it all sorts of
[33:57] things have happened at warwick castle, but I
[34:01] think Yeah, the the way to get new people in
[34:05] is to But hold their hand really I think it is
[34:09] daunting. Yeah, it's done especially when you
[34:11] go on tik -tok and you see all these big teams
[34:15] You've got like the likes of say GTI. For example,
[34:19] there's 10 ,000 people watching their live stream
[34:22] There all this shit's kicking off and you're
[34:25] like, oh my god Is that is that's what it's that
[34:29] what it's like because a live streams completely
[34:31] different to sit in there all night and fuck
[34:33] all happening as in many places so I think it's
[34:39] um it's good that you you're on hand to provide
[34:43] some equipment and sort of taught people how
[34:47] to use it because it's all well and good you
[34:49] see in a rem pod but if you don't know how it
[34:51] really works or what could cause it to go off
[34:54] yeah it's it's a daunting piece of equipment
[34:58] even though it just lights up and buzzes and
[35:00] does all the weird stuff um even a K2 meter,
[35:08] all those kind of things. And like you say, you
[35:10] don't really want to spend 40, 50, 60 pounds
[35:13] just on a small bit of equipment and going up
[35:15] to hundreds. If you're going out for a night
[35:17] and you might not even enjoy it. I mean, why
[35:20] wouldn't you enjoy a paranormal investigation?
[35:22] It's amazing. So that's some of your plans coming
[35:29] up. What's the single Biggest experience that
[35:35] you've had not necessarily the courage anything
[35:37] that you've gone Wow for yourself Yeah, so just
[35:43] before I explain that I just wanted just quickly
[35:45] like obviously mentioned around the kind of like
[35:47] the skepticism and stuff. Yeah It's like when
[35:53] these moments happen I 100 % Believe in that
[35:58] right, you know when when something grabbed my
[36:00] pocket, I believe that something grabbed my pocket
[36:04] It's only when I've walked away that I have looked
[36:07] at it a little bit differently. I don't want
[36:12] it to sound like I'm being negative all the time.
[36:16] I think the reason why I'm quite sceptical when
[36:20] I've come away from that experience, if I'm honest
[36:23] with you, it's fear more than anything. You know,
[36:26] I don't want to feel like I'm walking it. We're
[36:28] building every day and something bad could happen
[36:30] to me. So I think sometimes I try I try a little
[36:34] bit too hard to convince myself that these things
[36:37] are this, this, this and this. And, you know,
[36:41] like the video on on my channel, like when someone
[36:46] does grab my pocket, you can see the genuine
[36:49] what? No, I'm not. That can't happen. You can
[36:53] see it and. I swear a lot when I'm scared to
[36:58] the point where I even put an apology with swearing
[37:01] in it. So, but yeah, but back to the, I just
[37:05] wanted to put that out there, but back to the
[37:07] question around the single. If I had to pinpoint
[37:14] it to one specific moment, it would have to be.
[37:19] The first video we recorded, so the place that
[37:22] we recorded that, it was called the Junction
[37:23] Inn. Now, off the top of my head, I couldn't
[37:28] remember the history, but way back when it was
[37:32] used for miners, it was known as the Nudge and
[37:36] Whisper. Now, I heard behind, so we were sat
[37:42] at a table, and do you know the hatches in pubs
[37:45] like? where they pass the beers through, not
[37:47] the big bar bit but like they've always got that
[37:48] back room with snooker tables in. That hatch
[37:51] we had a music box set up on there pointing towards
[37:54] where the bar area was. It'd been there like
[37:59] pretty much all night but it turned from that
[38:02] area to another to the point it was straight
[38:04] down and nothing like we're setting it off from
[38:07] inside that area. And I heard what I believed
[38:12] at the time. And to be honest, I still believe
[38:14] that it was a young girl crying. Now, I say I
[38:21] believe even now that it was that, because it
[38:23] was very convincing. Again, we could go through
[38:28] the whole thing of what it made, what it outside,
[38:30] so on and so forth. But at the time, I heard
[38:33] it. But as that happened, a REM pod in the other
[38:38] room, so soon as I've gone, Carl, did you hear
[38:42] that? I've just heard a girl crying behind me.
[38:47] As we've turned like that, the REM pod in the
[38:50] other room has just started beeping. That's the
[38:54] one moment where I've kind of gone, I can't,
[38:59] I want to go home. We didn't, we went to sleep
[39:02] on a stool and it wasn't comfy, but yeah, that's
[39:06] the one moment that I'd say. were kind of a shock
[39:08] to me. I really had that many major experiences.
[39:14] A lot of people say that I'm bad luck when I
[39:16] go on investigations because no happens when
[39:18] I'm there and I'm like well stuff does happen
[39:21] it's just unfortunately we walk away and we have
[39:23] a conversation and then we think something didn't
[39:26] happen. But yeah that that'd have to be the one
[39:28] that I pick out of the ones that are memorable
[39:31] anyway. So it sounds like a really cool place
[39:34] there. and you mentioned that you get artifacts
[39:38] and you keep them in the vault in the room there
[39:42] what what other things are in there whatever
[39:45] objects are in there you mentioned about a clown
[39:48] from my haunted hotel um yes what how how do
[39:53] you come across these these items and artifacts
[39:56] and do people send them to you what tell us a
[40:00] bit more okay so It's a bit of a mixture and
[40:03] a lot of digging. So some of them are found through
[40:08] your basic Facebook marketplace, Etsy, stuff
[40:12] like that. And again, I am fully aware that at
[40:17] some point I'm probably going to get scammed.
[40:19] In fact, I think I have, which I'll get to in
[40:21] a minute. But there's a reason why we've kept
[40:24] it. So the first one that we actually got were
[40:30] a divot box now i quote it divot box because
[40:33] this is the one that i think we were scammed
[40:35] on now i'm not the sharpest tool in the shed
[40:41] when it comes to this these artifacts and stuff
[40:44] so we opened it um now i'm not gonna lie when
[40:49] people saw that video they was not the one not
[40:52] happy you know, you don't know what you've let
[40:54] off into building so on and so forth. I'm like,
[40:57] well, if I'm honest with you, I think I'll have
[40:59] let in dust because it had two feathers in it
[41:04] and it had a plastic cross. Now, I've searched
[41:09] them all and the items were too random. To me,
[41:14] it looks like somebody's got a box, made it look
[41:16] good, put some stuff in it, put it over, waxed
[41:18] it up. Nothing ever happened with it. it's still
[41:23] there and nothing has happened with it. But all
[41:28] of a sudden, the guys, so the guy who I bought
[41:31] it off from Etsy, all of a sudden, I messaged
[41:34] him and then all of a sudden his site were gone.
[41:38] I'm like, hang on a minute, like what's going
[41:40] on here? But the reason, so the reason why I've
[41:44] kept it is because we had a lady come in who,
[41:51] believed that when we opened it, an attachment
[41:55] had attached to myself. I'm not going to go into
[41:59] details around, like, the conversation, but in
[42:02] a nutshell, stories about my life that wasn't
[42:07] true was told, third party -wise, because of
[42:12] this Divot Box. So I kind of were like, well,
[42:15] hang on a minute, that's a bit... Come on, that's
[42:18] my life. How can you argue me about my own life?
[42:21] I'm pretty sure I know it better than anyone
[42:24] else. So that story kind of led to people being
[42:32] quite, when they got there, they were the first
[42:34] thing that they'd look at. So we've just kind
[42:37] of kept it there. And we just don't tell anyone
[42:40] about it when they come. So we just leave it
[42:42] there. And we just, it's just a... to us it's
[42:47] just a box but we if you think it's something
[42:49] you think it's something so we can just leave
[42:51] it on the um on the windowsill area and just
[42:55] let people look at it and do whatever with it
[42:58] um but the the actual stuff that we've got which
[43:02] we have had different things from from different
[43:04] teams um i'll get on to bob in a minute because
[43:07] bob's like he's gonna have it on instagram and
[43:11] everything soon like I love that clown. He's
[43:14] amazing. He's the headliner. He is. So we've
[43:19] got a couple of dolls. We've got Tom, who's a
[43:24] doll about this big. He's very, very small and
[43:27] who's believed to have the spirit of a 10 to
[43:29] 11 year old attached to him. and a picture similar
[43:34] to this one of a young boy who is believed to
[43:38] have the spirit of an elderly lady named Penelope
[43:41] attached. Now both of these items are items that
[43:47] were donated to us and I want to say that a lot
[43:54] of people have got responses on the spirit box
[43:57] when they've spoken to Tom But nothing comes
[44:00] through from Penelope apart from every so often
[44:03] you get a smell of like a woman's perfume and
[44:09] Again this is teams that have experienced this
[44:14] this is People have been in the building they've
[44:17] experienced this and once again. I'm the only
[44:20] one that hasn't experienced it yet, so These
[44:24] are again things that people have said this happened
[44:27] with these these two items But the one that I
[44:30] can positively say that I have witnessed something
[44:35] with is a doll that we have called Molly. Now,
[44:39] I'll be honest with you, we named her Molly.
[44:43] When we got her, she was sent to us and she was
[44:46] classed as a contained entity. So there wasn't
[44:52] any, like... it was believed that there was no
[44:55] human spirit attached to this doll and that this
[44:58] doll was created through a ritual to contain
[45:02] this, I'm assuming it was a demonic entity in
[45:06] this doll. Now, since I put this doll in a box
[45:11] that I was so proud of making, I made it myself,
[45:13] it was brilliant, I put it in the box, I crossed
[45:15] it on sides of it, it were red, it were amazing,
[45:19] but we kept getting. knocking on the wood of
[45:23] this box to the point, pardon me, to the point
[45:26] where I made it so that people could open the
[45:29] bottom and look inside the box to see that there's
[45:32] nothing in there. Because with all of our stuff,
[45:36] you can touch it, you can look at it, you can
[45:38] look for wires. The only rule is if you break
[45:40] it, you fix it. So again, we've made it so they
[45:44] can lift it up, they can look underneath and
[45:46] they can look down the back. it's the only places
[45:48] where anything could be put if somebody were
[45:50] to put something but we kept getting this knock
[45:54] in and it was just constant until we took her
[46:00] out of the box so we took her out of the box
[46:03] and we've not had it once since weird we only
[46:07] took we only took her out of the box to essentially
[46:11] clean the sawdust and the bottom of the box and
[46:16] then we'd forgot to put her back in And it would
[46:19] just if we just don't have knocking on that box
[46:22] ever since You know what we need to put back
[46:28] into test if it would stop again So at the moment
[46:33] that box has another doll in it Which I haven't
[46:39] I haven't seen yet so Carl's gonna put another
[46:44] doll in there that apparently looks more the
[46:48] part for that box we are creating a new box for
[46:52] her if you ever get chance to come down and see
[46:56] the place it's kind of set out so that there's
[46:59] like open boxes there's closed boxes there's
[47:02] shelves for all these different items and they
[47:06] all going so they'll all get changed position
[47:09] every so often mainly just to see if if anything
[47:13] does happen is it just that corner and is there
[47:16] something wrong with I don't know the somewhere
[47:18] behind the wall in that corner or is it the actual
[47:22] doll entity itself? We haven't got to that part
[47:26] yet because we've not been going that long but
[47:29] that's the idea behind it is they're going to
[47:31] move around to see if anything for example the
[47:34] knocking does it follow sort of thing so when
[47:38] she goes in a new box Is that new box going to
[47:42] then start getting knocking on it? So are we
[47:48] at a hairliner yet with good old Bob? So I love
[47:55] Bob. We are not joking. He is going to have his
[47:58] own Instagram soon. So Bob, obviously Bob had
[48:03] a story before he come to us. So Bob were known
[48:06] because of my Haunted Hotel. So people knew who
[48:08] he was. because of them um obviously the guy
[48:13] who we got him off um he was quite well known
[48:18] in the paranormal space so it was a known item
[48:24] now it's the story goes that he was found in
[48:30] an attic um and the son of the family that had
[48:35] found this doll in the attic Was grounded because
[48:38] he kept saying that the doll's log legs were
[48:41] moving until the point of him obviously getting
[48:45] rid of him and That was a very long time ago
[48:48] the exact history. I'd have to look at the ball
[48:50] to tell you but it's well, it's a vicarage but
[48:54] It plays the part should we say and now I know
[49:02] that sounds weird because he's kind of like the
[49:04] headliner but is not the headliner because of
[49:08] activity. People just gravitate to him as soon
[49:11] as they come in. He's a clown for a start. So
[49:14] people, you know, you've probably come across
[49:16] it yourself. Some people are just terrified of
[49:19] clowns. So starts the topic of conversation straight
[49:23] away. There's already an interesting point as
[49:26] soon as they've walked in the building. Oh, I
[49:28] don't want to go in there as a clown. People
[49:31] might not be so so is it, don't believe in attachment
[49:37] to dolls, but okay, this doll's got some stories,
[49:40] so let's try it out. So it's kind of just pulled
[49:45] people towards him every investigation, so he's
[49:47] kind of become like the centrepiece, the main
[49:50] item, the item that we are going to push, push,
[49:54] push and push, because we believe that he's doing
[49:58] good for you know, for the building. It is me
[50:02] not believing in it. I'm attached to talking
[50:04] like he's actually here. But yeah, so he is a
[50:11] main man. Have you or has anybody witnessed anything
[50:18] while he's been in your possession? Yes. Go on.
[50:23] Yeah, so we recently had Bad Cat Paranormal.
[50:31] She's been there quite a few times now. We have
[50:33] a joke that she might as well move in because
[50:35] all activity happens and it never happens for
[50:37] me. She was running a spirit box session and
[50:40] she got the name Bob coming through it twice.
[50:45] Which I'm watching at home and I'm thinking,
[50:48] hang on a minute, I'm a victim here, my pay is
[50:50] rent and he doesn't even talk to me. But yeah,
[50:54] and they heard a knock come from directly above
[50:56] him. Now, obviously we know the building so there's
[51:00] nothing above him that could be there's no pipes
[51:06] there's no electrical stuff like we don't have
[51:08] heating there's no heaters in that building at
[51:11] all so it won't like a water pipe or anything
[51:13] like that um it's just an empty attic but the
[51:20] way they describe it is it wasn't have i got
[51:22] any wood around me uh it was more of a rather
[51:26] than like somewhat falling, so like deliberate.
[51:32] And that's kind of like the main thing that's
[51:35] happened. We have had some people say that they've
[51:38] seen a figure stood in front of him. We've had
[51:42] an interesting part where the light fell off.
[51:45] So the lights fixed up to the top of him, because
[51:48] we've got to make it look spooky. So the lights
[51:51] attached to the top. Now that had fallen off.
[51:56] I do all of the work, like the maintenance work,
[52:00] all of the building work, everything like that
[52:02] to that building. I've shaken that box. I've
[52:08] knocked it. That light has never fallen off.
[52:11] So it was kind of like interesting. Let's do
[52:16] some. So we did do some testing on it and we
[52:18] tried banging on glass. you know, banging on
[52:21] top of it. Like these things weren't going to
[52:23] happen in the investigation. We could see it
[52:25] on video, but just to see. And again, didn't
[52:29] fall off. He had so we have that there was a
[52:35] part where she was doing a spirit box of back
[52:37] to back at paranormal with doing a spirit box
[52:39] with Bob. And all of a sudden it just comes out
[52:42] with Jack was in the house. So that's either
[52:46] a really good radio station or. You've got something
[52:50] there, but which were interesting for us because
[52:52] there's believed to be a young spirit boy in
[52:55] basement But yeah, but a lot of people just say
[53:00] they feel uneasy and they feel like he's watching
[53:02] him But it's also a ventriloquist doll. So his
[53:06] eyes are huge So you kind of you know, wherever
[53:10] you walk in a room dolls eyes just follow you.
[53:12] Anyway, it's you know, it's just what they do
[53:14] But yeah apart from that I can't confidently
[53:19] sit here and say that we've had anything else
[53:22] with the items themselves But it's interesting
[53:26] you say like a light has fallen down Yes, it's
[53:29] got lights in their houses. Everyone's got lights
[53:32] everywhere and how often the lights fall down
[53:35] They do. Oh, yeah As you were saying I was thinking
[53:38] to myself even like in a cabinet box or anything
[53:42] No, I've never been anywhere where lights have
[53:45] fallen off and if you're game you get that you
[53:48] get um like the sense of unease you get spirit
[53:52] box stuff coming through and you you add all
[53:55] these little bits together there's only so many
[53:58] we've we say it a lot on the podcast it's it's
[54:02] only so many times that you can call it a coincidence
[54:05] at some point it stops being a coincidence and
[54:09] something else is happening whether it's pounding
[54:14] or not at that point but still It goes past the
[54:18] point of coincidence. So you have multiple things
[54:21] from different people. At what point do you go,
[54:25] well, they've had that, that person's had that,
[54:27] we haven't had that, but other people have. There's
[54:30] still, if you sum it all up, there's, that sounds
[54:33] like quite a lot more than you would expect to
[54:38] get from a doll in a, just in a house. So weird.

[54:58] is I zone out. So I will zone out and I'll stare

[55:10] was a moment where I was doing a session with
[55:14] Bob. and I had one of them zone out moments.
[55:19] I call, I say it's a zone out because the alternative
[55:22] is terrifying. Well, I zoned out, so this is

[55:35] a loud noise happens, I'll kind of like, huh,
[55:38] what was that? something scraped behind me and
[55:42] you can hear it clear as day as if somebody because
[55:45] it's old floorboards so as if somebody's foot's
[55:47] just gone across the floor and I didn't blink
[55:52] I didn't move nothing I was just still staring
[55:56] at Bob all the way through it and to the point
[56:01] where I shouted Carl to come in during this days
[56:05] and didn't even remember shouting him to come
[56:08] in So he come in and I've just stood up not realizing
[56:12] it's there and then just started like, oh, yeah,
[56:15] no, no, it's happened. I've just been sat here
[56:18] talking about it. It was just, you know, the
[56:22] reason I don't share that normally is because.
[56:28] Not because it's scary, because, you know, it's
[56:31] a genuine thing that I have, like it's something
[56:34] that I have to deal with every day. But. It was
[56:39] just, the timing was very strange. It's never
[56:45] happened during an investigation before. It normally
[56:48] happens when I'm sat watching TV or when I'm
[56:51] working somewhere out and then I'll just go on
[56:53] out for a bit and then I'm back in the room.
[56:56] But it was the noise and the fact that I shouted
[56:59] him in, didn't even know I'd shouted him in,
[57:01] that kinda were like, hang on a minute, like
[57:03] that's... Because I don't know that I don't talk
[57:06] enough thing like I just saw now, but I spoke
[57:10] during it. Obviously, Carl looked back at that
[57:15] footage for me because I was just kind of like,
[57:17] I don't really want to see this, mate. Like,
[57:19] you know, I've I've looked back at it now, but
[57:21] it terrified him. You know, he knows me very
[57:26] well. He's so he's been my. cameraman, so to
[57:29] say, since way back when I was doing music. So
[57:32] he's filmed with me for a long time. Um, and
[57:36] it, that's, it was very scary moment. Thanks
[57:45] for, uh, sharing. That's, um, yeah, quite an
[57:49] interesting one. That's a different kind of experience.
[57:50] And they usually hear, um, people talk about,
[57:54] um, for what over it's kind of. anything like
[57:59] what's sort of like the best sort of thing you
[58:02] captured or anything like kind of anywhere you've
[58:04] done any investigations kind of your sort of
[58:07] best evidence. Okay, so I'm going to say this
[58:14] one just because I found it fun more than anything.
[58:19] So I went to Priest Cottage last Tuesday just
[58:23] gone. So last Tuesday and I tried the Hartley
[58:28] method for the first ever time. I was trying
[58:31] this Hartley method. Now, of course, because
[58:34] I'm the one that's kind of like, yeah, what's
[58:36] this about? I put myself under it because what
[58:39] better way than to experience it? But so Carl
[58:44] had asked me a question. So the question that
[58:45] he asked me was, was that you that rang the Envirobell
[58:50] in the other room? Now, as that's happened, I've
[58:54] pressed yes. um whether that was i'm going to
[58:59] whatever it might have been to make that happen
[59:01] it happened but i'll cue as i've done that the
[59:05] environmental goes off again um that's probably
[59:09] one of the coolest moments i've captured on camera
[59:12] because it's kind of been like one of them where
[59:14] i've gone yeah that that makes for a really good
[59:17] view like people are going to watch that and
[59:19] go oh wow that just happened um you know because
[59:23] i'm i'm you know i am very aware that when we're
[59:26] creating these videos, they do have to be watchable.
[59:30] You know, we can't just talk to a wall for an
[59:33] hour and a half and someone watch it. So for
[59:36] us, it would be very like, yes, we've got something
[59:38] cool that we can put in a video. And I mean,
[59:42] you'll see that within the next two weeks because
[59:44] that's coming out. That's my next video that's
[59:46] coming out. So yeah, that's probably my favorite
[59:48] thing we've captured. um because they just want
[59:52] to explain the Harley method because we know
[59:54] what it is but the listeners might not have heard
[59:56] of because it is a very new uh kind of uh yeah
[59:59] i'll give it my best shot if when you watch my
[1:00:02] video yeah i butchered it but um it's it's it's
[1:00:05] like it's like a little traffic light so red
[1:00:06] and green you've got your yes or no um the person
[1:00:10] that is um asking the questions They might spin
[1:00:14] it around whilst you're blindfolded and you've
[1:00:17] got ear defenders on and earplugs in under your
[1:00:19] ear defenders. So it's working off. It's kind
[1:00:21] of works of sensory deprivation. And guys, jump
[1:00:26] in if I get this wrong. I believe that it's believed
[1:00:30] that because you can't hear and see that they
[1:00:33] can use you to press the button. to answer yes
[1:00:37] or no um but they don't just ask you like they're
[1:00:41] not going to shout it they're going to whisper
[1:00:42] it so you can't hear them they might show you
[1:00:45] some flashcards with a triangle on it is that
[1:00:47] a circle and see what comes through uh which
[1:00:51] surprisingly we're very accurate which is a bit
[1:00:54] weird um but yeah that um if if you've got a
[1:00:59] better explanation please give it but that that's
[1:01:02] kind of what the gist i got of it Yeah, that's
[1:01:06] pretty much my understanding of it haven't haven't
[1:01:09] done it although priest cottage is Is a location
[1:01:13] that we've probably been to more than than any
[1:01:16] other I think I've been like six or seven times
[1:01:18] now It's only been open just over here We were
[1:01:21] in there in like right in the first couple of
[1:01:24] weeks we booked straight in we're one of the
[1:01:27] first names on the wall Yeah, we had the whole
[1:01:31] place to ourselves just me and you Is um, but
[1:01:35] we've actually captured one of The weirdest things
[1:01:40] that we've ever captured was captured at priest
[1:01:43] cottage as well so we were we we live stream
[1:01:46] all the time with the girls and we got the twins
[1:01:49] and Everywhere we go we live stream all the time.
[1:01:53] So we went to priest cottage of four of us and
[1:01:56] we we said right we're going to not live stream
[1:02:00] to begin with we're gonna Get a feel for the
[1:02:03] place because it's it's a cool place and especially
[1:02:06] if you sort of Take a few minutes to actually
[1:02:08] have a look sort of look around is it's quite
[1:02:11] a They've done it really nice. It looks really
[1:02:15] cool in there and We were like first of all we
[1:02:19] go in there usually we get all the phones out
[1:02:21] we get all the bits of equipment out and we just
[1:02:24] start live streaming and then that's us for like
[1:02:27] four hours at priest cottage and Then we're tired.
[1:02:31] We'll have a cup of tea and then we go home.
[1:02:33] So it's like, okay, we're gonna First of all,
[1:02:36] we're gonna we're gonna sit around the table
[1:02:38] in that the main sort of living room living room
[1:02:41] that's the main room at the bottom in them and
[1:02:45] We Sarah got some crystals out and she'd Arranged
[1:02:50] the crystals in a pattern on the table. We we
[1:02:52] turned the lights down We only had one camera
[1:02:55] like a night vision camera pointing at us We
[1:02:59] held hands and we were calling out and getting
[1:03:02] into the zone essentially. And then we heard
[1:03:08] some noises above us, some banging noises. And
[1:03:11] then after a short time, something laughed at
[1:03:16] us. And we caught it on camera. Rhianna and the
[1:03:24] girls caught it on the priest cottage camera
[1:03:26] as well. Wow and It was proper. It was like we
[1:03:32] sort of like with I freaked out I was like what
[1:03:36] the fuck was that and then we luckily because
[1:03:39] we'd got We'd got the laptops with us. We'd got
[1:03:43] memory card readers We took the memory card out
[1:03:45] of the camera with like looked at it there and
[1:03:48] then filmed every like a shoulder and we called
[1:03:52] it on capture and it was the weirdest thing that
[1:03:56] night was proper weird as well wasn't it the
[1:03:58] girls had loads of stuff we had loads of stuff
[1:04:01] it was very very strange night and all because
[1:04:06] we we feel that we went really calm at the start
[1:04:10] and we didn't just go full blast with live streaming
[1:04:14] and recording and yeah we we had candles and
[1:04:18] all sorts but um but the weirdest thing was that
[1:04:24] I put the memory card and the memory card sort
[1:04:29] of reader thing in my I've got a red rucksack.
[1:04:33] I take it everywhere So I put it. Yeah on the
[1:04:36] way home Sarah was like You got the memory card
[1:04:40] didn't you from the camera? I was like, yeah.
[1:04:42] Yeah camera. I've got the memory card I Come
[1:04:45] find it in my bag. I said it must be in the back
[1:04:48] of the car somewhere. It's gotta be in the back
[1:04:49] of the car somewhere right and then Wasn't obviously
[1:04:55] I was in the dog house because I'd lost a memory
[1:04:58] card with exceptional footage on it fuck so Message
[1:05:03] Rhiannon said can you have a look see if the
[1:05:06] memory cards there? So she's in the living room
[1:05:08] tidying up and She said can't find it Initially
[1:05:13] then a couple of minutes later. She said all
[1:05:15] of a sudden She heard a small noise on the side
[1:05:18] and the fucking memory card was there So whether
[1:05:23] or not whether or not i mean i'm not saying that's
[1:05:27] paranormal that is fucking weird that i swear
[1:05:31] i put it in the bag my rucksack is it got it's
[1:05:34] deep it's like if i put something in there it
[1:05:38] usually stays in there except for this fucking
[1:05:40] memory card anyway um and yeah and then she's
[1:05:46] tidying up and then it appears after she's tidied
[1:05:50] Which is weird and it's also got America back.
[1:05:52] Yeah, but It's just like it was a proper proper
[1:05:56] way in the dark was horrible. We all heard all
[1:05:59] four of us heard it clear as day. It was horrid
[1:06:02] So priest cottage is a great place. It's a great
[1:06:05] place Yeah, the fact you got that like You've
[1:06:10] got it on camera as well. I won't one of them
[1:06:13] moments. I need one of them moments But what
[1:06:17] you've just said is, you know, I'm kind of calling
[1:06:19] myself out here a little bit, but what I think
[1:06:22] one of our biggest problems is we go, you know,
[1:06:29] again, we are, we're new to it. So we go into
[1:06:31] a lot of these locations with expectations. We
[1:06:35] go into a lot of these locations and we are overly
[1:06:38] excited when we get there and we're expecting
[1:06:41] so much to happen. And I don't think we have
[1:06:46] settled into that, into how investigations go
[1:06:50] yet. I think because so much has happened since
[1:06:54] we started, and it's just been 100 mile an hour,
[1:06:57] we've not had a chance to actually settle and
[1:06:59] just be like, let's do it. Because at the core,
[1:07:03] forget about the building, forget about everything
[1:07:05] else. At the core, we do this because we enjoy
[1:07:08] doing it. So kind of what you guys, what you've
[1:07:13] just said then about the, you know, you guys
[1:07:14] were calm and it's just kind of pinged off in
[1:07:17] my head that like, hang on a minute, that's something
[1:07:19] we don't really do. We go in there with frantically
[1:07:22] setting up and we are, have you got this? Have
[1:07:25] you got that? And it's just a hundred mile an
[1:07:27] hour from start. Oh, we're usually a hundred
[1:07:30] mile an hour at start and we're usually just
[1:07:32] Walking around trying to set things up. Right.
[1:07:34] We're gonna go in here first. We'll signal shit
[1:07:37] Let's try and get on some Wi -Fi somewhere. Let's
[1:07:40] let's do all this. It's usually chaos to be fair
[1:07:43] it is and it's it's exciting to get to a new
[1:07:48] location most definitely and Yeah, like we we're
[1:07:52] me and ash are now in our sixth year doing this
[1:07:55] so we've been to loads of places and there's
[1:07:57] still certain places that are just freaky as
[1:08:00] and like a lot of them are outdoors now because
[1:08:06] of the uncertainty of outdoors but the house
[1:08:10] of cries i know is was one of ash's sort of favorite
[1:08:13] places uh priest cottage we've been to tons of
[1:08:16] times we used to go to my haunted hotel back
[1:08:19] in the day or back in the day yeah two or three
[1:08:22] years ago um so it's it's good to have that excitement
[1:08:29] i think that pumps you up a bit because you can
[1:08:32] go to places and if you're not feeling it it's
[1:08:36] just going to be a tough night and yeah so it's
[1:08:41] good it's good to have that that energy for definite
[1:08:44] for definite Yeah, I think we just need to learn
[1:08:48] to control it, if that makes sense. Definitely.
[1:08:54] So do you want to talk about some of the other
[1:08:56] stuff you've got going on and coming up with
[1:09:00] the vicarage and the other stuff? So where do
[1:09:03] we start? So one of the big ones that we have
[1:09:09] coming out, I think we're planning on it for
[1:09:12] the end of this year. we will be releasing the
[1:09:16] first episode to our own podcast. So, like I
[1:09:22] told you guys before, obviously I used to do
[1:09:24] a podcast. It was called the Chat Down podcast.
[1:09:27] We were just goofing around, messing about, catching
[1:09:30] up. But because we have the space in that building
[1:09:34] to do so, we have a back room that we're turning
[1:09:37] into a studio. And what we're going to be offering
[1:09:41] is guests to come and be on the podcast, and
[1:09:43] then they'll get a free investigation at their
[1:09:47] location, just so because we understand sometimes,
[1:09:50] you know, when I put that post out, the first
[1:09:53] thing I say is, well, it needs to be remote because
[1:09:55] traveling is difficult. But given that additional
[1:09:59] incentive, it's kind of like, yes, you know,
[1:10:02] you will sit down for an hour and a half, but
[1:10:03] then you've got the building all night. Whenever
[1:10:08] you want. If you come in with the girls, they've
[1:10:15] just received a free code, so come along with
[1:10:19] them. Fucking hell, yeah, definitely. Yeah. So
[1:10:23] I know that, obviously, I know you guys, you've
[1:10:27] heard, you know Carl, heard of Carl. He's always
[1:10:31] spoke very highly of the twins, so. it was only
[1:10:37] right that they were the only group that we couldn't
[1:10:41] pin down and get into the Vicarage early doors,
[1:10:44] because we were trying to get as many YouTubers
[1:10:46] in as we could. Instead of putting his money
[1:10:49] on Google ads, let's get these free promotions.
[1:10:52] Let's get them in. They were the only group we
[1:10:54] didn't get in. So we sent them a free code. So
[1:11:00] I'm pretty sure they'll be coming along at some
[1:11:02] point. It'll have to be 2027 because we've got
[1:11:05] no dates left in 2027 with them. Definitely,
[1:11:10] I'm up for that. What else do we have? So we've
[1:11:15] got a clothing brand that's coming soon. Now,
[1:11:21] we're not just doing merch. I didn't want to
[1:11:25] just, I know it's weird to say that I'm wearing
[1:11:27] one, but we didn't want to just stick a logo
[1:11:29] on a jumper. and sell it. Something I've always
[1:11:33] wanted to do is create a movement around people
[1:11:38] doing things for themselves and not other people.
[1:11:42] I'm a very big believer in if if you can dream
[1:11:45] big, you can achieve big. So the brand is going
[1:11:48] to be called Ethra. And that is what that's going
[1:11:52] to be. That's what it's all going to be about
[1:11:54] is people that want to achieve more are going
[1:11:58] to wear more in a way. So yeah, there's a whole
[1:12:02] load of stuff that's going to come with that.
[1:12:05] I'm really, really looking forward to launching
[1:12:07] that. We have Haunted. Is it Haunting or Haunted?
[1:12:12] I can't remember which one it is. Haunting Histories
[1:12:15] coming, which is kind of the other side of my
[1:12:18] enjoyment with this. So the history side of it.
[1:12:22] we know interests a lot of people. So one of
[1:12:25] the things we're doing is creating a show. It's
[1:12:27] just going to be a sit down audio only show.
[1:12:30] People can put it on in the background. And it's
[1:12:33] just going from the through the whole history
[1:12:35] of locations that we've investigated. And obviously,
[1:12:38] the first one is going to be about the auto vicarage
[1:12:40] because it would not make sense it being anywhere
[1:12:42] else. Apart from that, it's just getting out
[1:12:49] more. um establishing ourselves more as investigators
[1:12:55] and you know getting us working more on the channel
[1:12:59] and we're changing the way that we're filming
[1:13:01] things um there's a lot of different changes
[1:13:06] that are coming that we've learned over the last
[1:13:08] couple of months i think so we from february
[1:13:13] till now so i think it's six or seven videos
[1:13:17] i might be a bit off by one or two, six or seven
[1:13:20] videos and we have watched easily over 50 teams
[1:13:27] investigate that building now and we learn something
[1:13:30] new every time spoken to lots of different people
[1:13:35] that film videos and content watched a lot of
[1:13:37] different content so we're kind of at that stage
[1:13:41] now where it's like okay We're known for the
[1:13:44] old Vicarage. People know who we are now at least
[1:13:46] because of the old Vicarage. Let's try and get
[1:13:50] it so that now people know us for us. They know
[1:13:54] me as Scott. They know Carl as Carl from the
[1:13:58] Daily Detour of Carl Paranormal Wolves. They
[1:14:00] know who we are. You know, because there is people
[1:14:04] behind the buildings. And then ultimately just
[1:14:08] make the Vicarage as good as we can and as inviting
[1:14:11] as we can. uh we've taken a lot of inspiration
[1:14:14] from so the the priest cottage is actually my
[1:14:17] one of my favorite places that i've seen um and
[1:14:21] the reason for that is because i didn't know
[1:14:24] you could make a building feel so welcoming welcoming
[1:14:27] without even being in the building and just little
[1:14:33] touches that they've done has inspired us to
[1:14:36] do more like down to the signing on the wall
[1:14:39] we've now got a wall that's purposely for that
[1:14:44] but we've made it our own by making it a centrepiece
[1:14:51] of the museum so instead of it just being anything
[1:14:54] that is going to be it's going to be lit up from
[1:14:56] all sides and people that visit are going to
[1:14:59] be a permanent part of that museum so they are
[1:15:02] going to be the attraction to the building so
[1:15:06] to say but yeah apart from that Hopefully have
[1:15:12] a full night's sleep. That'd be a nice start.
[1:15:18] It just sounds like you are a hundred miles an
[1:15:21] hour. Yeah. I've got three kids in the full -time
[1:15:26] job and also I don't know how to slow down. It
[1:15:32] gets to a point where the paranormal sort of
[1:15:36] takes over. I know me and Ash, we talk about
[1:15:40] it. all the time we've got a group chat we're
[1:15:42] constantly talking about the paranormal there's
[1:15:44] the four of us in this group chat and you would
[1:15:47] think that we do nothing else um we like we've
[1:15:51] got jobs we're just there's messages going down
[1:15:54] all day and i'm like i can't listen to the message
[1:15:56] i've got to do this i'm not supposed to have
[1:15:58] my phone um yeah it becomes all consuming at
[1:16:03] times but yeah it's mad because Prior to doing
[1:16:10] the paranormal I used to just sit and watch TV
[1:16:15] and go to bed and get up, go to work, come home,
[1:16:19] have dinner, tea for you light up north, do it
[1:16:23] in front of the TV and then go to bed. But now,
[1:16:28] like, we got the podcast Ash has got his UFO
[1:16:32] stuff. We're planning stuff with the girls. We're
[1:16:38] planning what we're doing with the podcast. We're
[1:16:40] trying to push social media. We're trying new
[1:16:42] locations. Like where are we going to go next?
[1:16:45] We've done a talk this year. Me and Ash have
[1:16:48] been to like Wales talking all over. Spook and
[1:16:52] Spirits last week we talked. We're talking next
[1:16:55] month at ParaChat. We talked in Birmingham. We've
[1:17:01] talked all over about the stuff that we research.
[1:17:06] what stuff we've noticed, and we talk to all
[1:17:10] these people from around the world about books
[1:17:15] they've written, films they're making, and it's
[1:17:19] just this beast of a thing. You're going to be
[1:17:25] sucked in over the years. I sometimes sit there
[1:17:33] and I'm at work and I'm thinking, I ain't got
[1:17:35] fucking time to be working. I've got this website
[1:17:39] thing that we're trying to do. We're trying to
[1:17:42] do this. We've got this to do. We've got this
[1:17:44] to do. I've got to edit the next. I've got last
[1:17:47] week's interview to edit. I've got this interview
[1:17:51] to prep for and then, right, when am I going
[1:17:54] to edit this? And then we've got videos that
[1:17:57] we filmed weeks ago that we're putting together.
[1:18:01] it's like right when we get the next live stream
[1:18:04] and oh my god and then we're up and down the
[1:18:07] country i live down in the south ash is in manchester
[1:18:11] um emma's in manchester sarah's in crew so we're
[1:18:16] everybody's up north so we're going backwards
[1:18:17] then you guys like ash comes down here we have
[1:18:20] the weekend in oxford here going to places up
[1:18:23] north going to places and it's just it's just
[1:18:27] insane and everything becomes the paranormal
[1:18:29] everything yeah everything you will do from now
[1:18:33] on will be paranormal it's mad it's absolutely
[1:18:36] mad so um i wish you all the very best because
[1:18:40] i know what it's like certainly from the early
[1:18:43] days and like you said you've learned so much
[1:18:45] in a few months we we've been like that that
