This week on the Pursuit of the Paranormal Weekly News Round-Up, Greg looks at three of the biggest stories from the world of UFOs, UAP and the paranormal. David Grusch has returned to The Joe Rogan Experience and says he believes a form of UAP disclosure could happen before Donald Trump leaves office. During the same conversation, Joe Rogan also revealed that White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller allegedly told him that information about UFOs was “going to come out”. We also look at the strange blue-white object spotted during SpaceX’s historic Starship Flight 14. The footage quickly sparked UFO speculation online, but a closer look at the livestream may offer a much more conventional explanation. And finally, we head to Castletown on the Isle of Man, where the Sixth Senses Paranormal Society investigated the Vintage Tea Room and reported recording what they believe could have been the voice of a child. Three very different stories, but all raising the same question: where does the evidence end, and interpretation begin? The Pursuit of the Paranormal Weekly News Round-Up is produced in association with Beyond Our Ordinary and UFO Identified. Got a strange story to tell us? Drop us a voicemail and it may appear on an up coming episode

[0:17] Hey it's Greg, just Greg this week and welcome
[0:21] to another episode of the Pursuit of the Paranormal
[0:25] Weekly News Roundup in association with Beyond
[0:28] Our Ordinary and UFO Identified. Each week we're
[0:32] going to be looking at some of the stories making
[0:34] the news across the world of UFOs, the paranormal
[0:37] and the unexplained and this week we've got three
[0:40] so we'll get straight in. So probably the biggest
[0:44] UAP story of this week comes from David Grush.
[0:49] On the 30th September, David Grush returned to
[0:52] the Joe Rogan Experience for episode 2560, which
[0:58] is pretty epic, because we've been doing this
[1:00] for six years nearly, and we're nearly at 400
[1:03] episodes. So you can imagine Joe Rogan has been
[1:07] pumping them episodes out. For anyone unfamiliar
[1:10] with him, Grush is a former U .S. Air Force intelligence
[1:14] officer. He previously represented the National
[1:17] Reconnaissance Office, the NRO, on the UAP Task
[1:21] Force and worked as a co -lead for UAP Analysis
[1:24] at the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency.
[1:29] And about 24 minutes into the latest episode,
[1:34] Joe Rogan asked him a pretty straightforward
[1:36] question. What's going on? Brush answers, I believe,
[1:43] before Trump's term ends, that it's all going
[1:46] to come out. When Rogan asked him what he meant
[1:49] by that, Grush says that he's referring to the
[1:52] things he had previously testified about. He
[1:55] again alleges that the United States has recovered
[1:59] intact or partially intact craft, that anomalous
[2:03] intelligence has been associated with those craft,
[2:06] and that attempts have been made to reverse engineer
[2:09] recovered technology. Now this distinction is
[2:13] really important. These are Grush's claims. His
[2:17] appearance on Rogan does not itself establish
[2:20] that recovered non -human craft or biological
[2:23] material exists, and public accessible physical
[2:26] evidence proving these extraordinary claims has
[2:28] not been presented in that interview. What's
[2:33] interesting here is the time frame he's now attaching
[2:36] to it, which isn't simply saying disclosure will
[2:39] happen eventually, he's saying that he believes
[2:42] something significant will happen before Donald
[2:44] Trump leaves office. And later in the interview,
[2:47] he gets more specific about what that might actually
[2:50] mean. Rogan asks him what sort of timeline he's
[2:53] looking at. Krish describes what he says is a
[2:56] threshold disclosure. In his words, something
[2:59] broadly along the lines of we're not alone, we
[3:02] have stuff, which is, to be fair, is pretty mental.
[3:06] Quite a wild accusation and claim to come out
[3:09] with as well. He says that basic acknowledgement
[3:12] needs to happen before Trump leaves office and
[3:14] suggests that in his view, any announcement should
[3:18] come sufficiently before the next election to
[3:21] allow time for the public and government to deal
[3:23] with the consequences. So we're not necessarily
[3:26] talking about somebody flying a saucer into the
[3:30] White House lawn. What Grush appears to be describing
[3:33] as the first step in an official acknowledgement
[3:36] that the phenomena is real and the material has
[3:39] allegedly been recovered. And then we get to
[3:42] the other part of the interview, which has been
[3:44] circulating online this week, because it wasn't
[3:47] Grush who met someone at a UFC event at the White
[3:50] House. It was Joe Rogan. During the interview,
[3:53] Grush talks about White House official Stephen
[3:55] Miller and references Congressman Tim Bushett's
[3:58] account that Miller had encountered resistance
[4:00] while trying to access or release information
[4:03] relating to the UAP issue. Miller is currently
[4:07] Trump's Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and
[4:09] Homeland Security Advisor. Rogan then jumps in
[4:13] and says they personally met Miller very briefly
[4:16] at the UFC event at the White House. According
[4:18] to Rogan, Miller knew he was interested in UFOs
[4:22] and told him the UFO thing is going to come out.
[4:27] Rogan stresses that the conversation was extremely
[4:29] brief and that UFOs were essentially all they
[4:32] talked about. Again, there's an important distinction
[4:35] here. We have Rogan's account of what Stephen
[4:37] Miller privately told him. We don't have public
[4:40] statement from Miller. they know exactly what
[4:43] will be released, when it would happen, or what
[4:46] information it would contain. And Grush's prediction
[4:49] that disclosure will occur before Trump leaves
[4:51] office is Grush's prediction. They're two separate
[4:54] claims, but together they make this worth watching.
[4:59] Grush believes a form of official acknowledgement
[5:01] is approaching. Rogan says a senior White House
[5:04] official privately told him that UAP information
[5:07] is going to come out. and Congressman Tim Burchette
[5:11] has separately said Miller has made the UAP an
[5:14] issue at White House priority, while also describing
[5:18] resistance to the release of information. Miller
[5:21] has not publicly confirmed Burchette's account
[5:23] of these conversations though, so this is all
[5:27] kind of hearsay. Ultimately though, we're back
[5:30] at the same place we've been many times with
[5:32] UFO disclosure. Show us the evidence. Because
[5:36] if Grush is correct, This is no longer just something
[5:40] that's supposedly going to happen at some undefined
[5:43] point in the future. It's attached a political
[5:45] frame to it. And that means eventually we'll
[5:49] be able to look back and ask the very, very simple
[5:52] question, did it actually happen? So our second
[5:59] story takes us out of Washington and into space.
[6:04] On the 28th of September, SpaceX launched a Starship
[6:07] Flight 14 from Starbase. in Texas. And this was
[6:12] a major mission for SpaceX. The planned mission
[6:16] was shortened after engine trouble, but reaching
[6:19] orbit and deploying operational satellites still
[6:22] presented a major milestone for the Starship
[6:25] program. But that's not the bit that caught the
[6:28] attention of the UAP community. During the live
[6:32] stream, viewers spotted a pale blue white object
[6:35] or feature behind Starship. It's narrow, slightly
[6:39] curved. and appears against the darkness of space.
[6:42] And very quickly, people started asking the inevitable
[6:45] question, SpaceX just live streamed a UAP. Now,
[6:50] technically, if you don't know what something
[6:52] is, then it is unidentified, as we all know.
[6:56] But unidentified doesn't automatically mean extraterrestrial.
[6:59] And this particular case has a really interesting
[7:02] twist. One of the Reddit users who originally
[7:05] highlighted the object went back through the
[7:08] footage to try and work out what we're actually
[7:10] looking at. They spotted something earlier. About
[7:13] five minutes and 45 seconds into the launch timer,
[7:16] a blue -white cloud can already be seen. The
[7:19] user tracked it through the footage and eventually
[7:22] concluded that the strange object appeared later
[7:26] looked like the same cloud viewed from a different
[7:29] perspective. Starship moved. they essentially
[7:33] debunked their own sighting. And this is where
[7:37] the case gets more useful than just another 10
[7:40] second UAP clip, because SpaceX's mission timeline
[7:43] also tells us that enormous rocket engines have
[7:46] been operating around this period of the flight.
[7:49] The super heavy booster performed its landing
[7:52] burn, while Starship itself continued its engine
[7:55] burn until a little over eight minutes. One proposed
[7:59] explanation is therefore what we're seeing gas
[8:02] exhaust or material associated with the flight,
[8:06] illuminated by sunlight and viewed from a changing
[8:09] angle. SpaceX has not, in the material reviews
[8:14] by Beyond Our Ordinary, UFO identified and Pursue,
[8:18] issued a specific identification of the blue
[8:21] feature itself. And there's another problem with
[8:24] some of the more dramatic interpretations, scale.
[8:28] Ash touched on it last week about the Galileo
[8:31] project. But from the livestream alone here,
[8:34] we don't know how far this feature is away from
[8:36] the camera. Without distance, you can't reliably
[8:40] determine size, and in space even more so. Something
[8:44] relatively small and close to the camera can
[8:46] occupy the same amount of a frame as something
[8:49] enormous much further away. So claims online
[8:52] that this was some gigantic mothership simply
[8:55] aren't supported by the imagery alone. Could
[8:58] we definitively identify the object from the
[9:01] available footage? Nuke. But there's a plausible
[9:05] conventional explanation and perhaps more importantly,
[9:09] this continuity in the video. Something resembling
[9:12] the latter object appears earlier. And that's
[9:17] a really good lesson whenever we examine anomalous
[9:19] footage. Don't begin at the moment it becomes
[9:21] weird, go backwards. Look at what happened before.
[9:25] Look at what the camera's doing. Look at what
[9:27] the object was doing. Because sometimes the explanation
[9:31] for the anomaly is already sitting 30 seconds
[9:34] or two minutes earlier than the footage. So what
[9:37] we have here is inconclusive, spotted and not
[9:45] acknowledged by SpaceX. So it's pretty much like
[9:51] most UAP footage that we see. Nobody really knows
[9:53] what's going on. So the last story this week,
[9:58] something properly paranormal. This story comes
[10:01] from Castle Town on the Isle of Man. The Sixth
[10:05] Senses Paranormal Society were invited to investigate
[10:08] the vintage tea room on Mellew Street to look
[10:12] into claims that the property could be haunted.
[10:15] The group spent the night reporting their investigation,
[10:17] as we all do, and afterwards they reported hearing
[10:20] what they thought could possibly be the voice
[10:22] of a child. Importantly, the investigation wasn't
[10:25] reported as proving the building was haunted.
[10:28] The result was described as inconclusive, and
[10:31] I actually think they're the most interesting
[10:33] part of the story. because paranormal investigation
[10:36] doesn't have to end with it's a ghost sometimes
[10:39] the most accurate conclusion is simply you know
[10:42] what we've recorded something and we don't currently
[10:45] know what caused it possible voices on recordings
[10:48] have been part of paranormal investigating for
[10:51] decades usually discussed under the umbrella
[10:53] of EVP but audio evidence comes with a particular
[10:57] problem our brains are incredibly good at trying
[11:01] to make sense of an ambiguous sound Give somebody
[11:05] an unclear recording without any information
[11:08] and they may hear nothing more than a noise,
[11:10] but tell them beforehand Listen carefully a little
[11:14] girl says hello and suddenly it become very difficult
[11:17] to un -hear that That's why one useful way of
[11:22] testing recordings like this is blind listening.
[11:25] Give the original unedited recording to several
[11:29] people separately Don't give them what investigators
[11:33] think it says Don't tell them whether they think
[11:36] it's a man, a woman, or a child. Just ask, what
[11:39] do you hear? If everyone writes down completely
[11:44] different things, then suggestion and auditory
[11:46] pattern recognition may be playing a substantial
[11:48] role. If several independent listeners identify
[11:52] in very similar words without any prompting,
[11:54] then you have at least established something
[11:56] slightly more interesting. And there appears
[11:59] to be recognizable information in the sound.
[12:03] Still doesn't give us a source though. as you
[12:06] know. Then you've got environmental contamination,
[12:09] people nearby, voices outside, other investigators,
[12:12] equipment noise and plenty of other possibilities
[12:15] to eliminate before invoking anything paranormal.
[12:19] But that's what makes cases like this worth investigating,
[12:22] not because an unexplained sound automatically
[12:24] equals a ghost, but because something we don't
[12:27] know is where the investigation actually begins.
[12:32] The Sixth Sense Paranormal Society recorded the
[12:34] investigation and made their full investigation
[12:36] available on YouTube, rather than the story relying
[12:40] on only a description of what they heard. So
[12:44] there we go. That's this week's weekly news roundup.
[12:49] If you're not already aware, the GPN Awards are
[12:52] taking place in 2027. And if you go to the GPN
[12:56] Awards, Paramie or Neil Packer's Facebook page,
[12:59] you will see a link. We've also put it on our
[13:02] Facebook page as well. If you want to nominate
[13:06] for people that you think are deserving for a
[13:08] particular category, there's all sorts of categories
[13:10] in there, including a podcast one, then we would
[13:15] appreciate it if you would nominate us for a
[13:18] podcast award. That'd be amazing. Again, if you
[13:22] prefer another podcast, that's equally cool.
[13:24] There's so many great podcasts out there, but
[13:26] there's loads of other categories, best investigation
[13:30] team. Best magazine all that kind of stuff. So
[13:35] have a click see what I think and make your nominations
[13:39] and We will be back next week where either me
[13:43] or ash don't know the moment We'll round up some
[13:47] of the latest news. Bye
