William C. Grave bought his first home at just 19 years old as a complete sceptic. Before he had even moved in, a friend looked towards the empty property and asked a question that would eventually change the course of William’s life: “Who’s the lady in the bay window?” More than two decades later, multiple people have independently reported seeing what appears to be the same elderly woman inside the house, described with grey hair, a dark cardigan, white blouse and an unnervingly piercing stare. In this episode of Pursuit of the Paranormal, Greg and Ash sit down with William to explore the extraordinary story behind The Lady in the Bay Window. William recounts one of the strangest episodes in the house: American one-cent coins repeatedly appearing in places where they seemingly should not have been. What began with a coin appearing on the bedroom floor escalated over several nights until William says one actually struck him on the leg while he was alone in the shower. Later, a single coin left on his bedside table appeared to have become two. He also describes witnessing what he considers one of the most compelling incidents personally: a spring-loaded door handle moving down in front of him and his wife, the door opening, then the handle snapping back up as the door slammed shut. We also discuss investigations carried out inside the property, including a 24-hour visit from Ghosts on Trent. Footage recorded while nobody was inside appeared to contain unexplained knocking and tapping, while another camera captured what looked remarkably like the figure of a woman standing at a window. When William showed the image to his father, he was sent a photograph of William’s late mother on her wedding day. William admits the resemblance was difficult to unsee, while remaining careful not to claim that this proves what was captured. Despite everything that has happened, William still stops short of declaring his house definitively haunted. He knows something unusual appears to be happening, but remains open to the possibility that paranormal experiences could ultimately have an explanation we do not yet understand. The story has since become far bigger than the house itself. William’s first book has raised more than £57,000 for Weston Park Cancer Charity, fulfilling a promise he made to his mother before she died. We also talk about The Lady in the Bay Window theatre production, William’s Beyond the Bay Window podcast, the launch of paranormal-events platform HauntSeek, and the newly announced film deal that will bring the story to the screen as a found-footage project. Is this a genuine haunting? Coincidence? An unknown physical phenomenon? Or something else entirely? Join Greg and Ash for the remarkable story of The Lady in the Bay Window. Find William C. [0:00] So we sat down, we had a few beers, we'd been
[0:02] playing a few hours, and the six of us, remember,
[0:05] sat around this board. There's a door to get
[0:07] to the bottom of the stairs, there's a door to
[0:09] get to the kitchen, which were both closed at
[0:12] the time, and then there's this alcove in the
[0:14] far corner, and this massive bay window that
[0:18] just dominates the front room, like a huge, huge
[0:21] bay window. So we're all sat around, we're about
[0:24] two hours into the game, maybe two, three hours
[0:26] into the game, and one of the guys... I'm looking
[0:31] at him. This is the bit I don't get about this
[0:33] story. I'm looking at him across the circle from
[0:36] me as we're playing. He looks over his shoulder
[0:39] and then yelps and like he was petrified of something
[0:44] and tumbles towards me across the board, smashing
[0:48] everyone's glasses, bottles. He sort of bowled
[0:52] past me into the corner and he sat down with
[0:56] his back against the wall with his arms tucked
[0:58] around his legs. And he was in shock. Something
[1:01] had just absolutely petrified him. And he wasn't
[1:05] messing about either. This was serious. I was
[1:07] trying to talk to him. He couldn't get his words
[1:09] out to tell me what had happened. What's happened?
[1:12] And he went, did you not see her? I said, see
[1:16] who? He went, the lady. There was a lady sat
[1:18] on an invisible chair in the corner of the room,
[1:21] just staring at me. Hello, Liam. How are you?
[1:25] And thank you for joining us on the podcast this
[1:27] week. Thank you for having me, guys. Great to
[1:30] be here. No, I've been really excited about this
[1:33] one Especially after seeing your talk at spook
[1:37] and spirit a couple of weeks ago now or three
[1:40] weeks ago Yeah, and The story is fascinating
[1:48] stories absolutely fascinating. So What we like
[1:52] to do is we're when when a guest comes on like
[1:55] to sort of have a little bit of history about
[1:58] a brief history of you Any sort of paranormal
[2:02] bits of growing up and really how you got away
[2:06] like to today basically Okay over to you Fantastic.
[2:12] Okay. So For those who've read I brought a couple
[2:16] of books out in the paranormal world I've ended
[2:18] up in the in the mixture of this whole lovable
[2:20] paranormal community, which is great. Love it
[2:23] but it's kind of taking up my life for the past
[2:27] few years and It was Halloween 2023, my first
[2:30] book came out, The Lady in the Bay Window. That's
[2:34] the book right there. Amazon bestseller. What
[2:40] the book was all about was, my mom was very poorly,
[2:45] so she had a very rare form of breast cancer,
[2:47] bless her. And about two years into her treatments,
[2:52] I... I was doing loads of sponsored dog walks
[2:54] and doing anything I could just to raise some
[2:56] money. I think if you've had anybody in your
[2:58] family that's had or been touched by cancer,
[3:00] you just try and help out where you can. And
[3:02] for me, that was let's try and raise some money
[3:05] for Cancer Research UK. So I was doing really
[3:07] well. I think I'd raised nigh on 3 ,000 pounds.
[3:12] And then I slipped and damaged my knee, ended
[3:15] up having a knee operation. And when that happened,
[3:19] I got into talking to a couple of my friends,
[3:22] one of which who always comes round to my house.
[3:24] He used to live here. I'm actually sat in the
[3:26] room that he used to rent in my house and he's
[3:30] seen this old lady. He's seen the old lady of
[3:33] the house. I haven't seen her by the way. There
[3:35] have been six different people, seven different
[3:37] sightings of this old lady that they all describe
[3:40] the same. Sort of 70s, 80 year old, grey, permed
[3:44] hair, dark cardigan, white blouse. They all describe
[3:48] her the same way in that she's got quite a piercing
[3:50] stare and I think the funny thing for me is I
[3:54] moved into this house at 19 years old, a fully
[4:00] fledged skeptic. Nothing had ever happened to
[4:02] me before I moved in here. And the sighting started
[4:05] about a week before I moved in. But fast forward
[4:08] to 2022, and a friend who lived here for three
[4:12] or four years rented a room in his mid 20s. He
[4:16] came into the house and said, there's anything
[4:19] weird happened lately and that's his first thing
[4:21] every time he always comes in the house he says
[4:23] anything weird happened anything paranormal because
[4:25] things have happened to him here and i started
[4:28] telling the story about some american coins that
[4:31] we found in the house um over a number of days
[4:34] and do you want me to tell you the story yeah
[4:37] i'm going to tell you what happened yeah absolutely
[4:40] so this was crikey going back like i say to 2022
[4:47] It was a normal Friday night in the house. I've
[4:51] lived here now 21 years, so what we say, 17 years
[4:56] at the time. I've gone to go to bed. I live with
[4:59] my wife and son now, but he wasn't born at the
[5:02] time. But I'd gone to walk upstairs on that Friday
[5:06] night. My wife had just gone to bed. I walked
[5:09] in the bedroom, started getting undressed, and
[5:11] I looked down and we're quite neat freaks. So
[5:13] we don't have anything lying around anywhere.
[5:16] and there was something shiny in the middle of
[5:18] the carpet, and it caught my eye. So I bent down
[5:20] and picked it up, and it was an American one
[5:24] cent piece. So I turned it over, looked at the
[5:26] date on it, and the only reason I did that is
[5:28] because so many things have happened in this
[5:29] house that are weird. I document them. I document
[5:32] every single thing that happens, times, dates,
[5:34] temperatures, what I was doing that day in the
[5:37] notes on my phone. And I documented it down,
[5:42] put it in my bedside drawer, and I went to bed
[5:44] that night, didn't really think much of it. And
[5:47] these things can get caught in UK circulation.
[5:49] They look very much like pennies. And I'm quite
[5:51] a skeptical person. So didn't think much of it.
[5:54] Put it in the drawer. That's that. Saturday night.
[5:57] Similar sort of thing. My wife's just gone to
[5:59] bed just before me. This is the night after the
[6:01] first night of finding the coin. I've walked
[6:03] into the bedroom and what appeared to be the
[6:06] same spot on the floor right in the middle of
[6:08] the carpet at my side of the bed was something
[6:11] shiny. I went down and picked it up. It's an
[6:13] American one cent coin. It's dated the same day,
[6:15] 2012. And I checked in the top drawer, my sock
[6:19] drawer. There weren't any other coins in there.
[6:20] I emptied out the socks. There was no more coins
[6:22] in there. So I assumed it was the same one. And
[6:26] I sort of just said to my wife as I got in bed,
[6:28] and I put it back in my bedside drawer, top bedside
[6:31] table drawer, and just said to her, that's a
[6:34] bit strange. So that's two nights on the bench.
[6:36] I found a coin, an American coin on the floor.
[6:39] And she's not a practical joker. If anything
[6:43] happens in our house, it intrigues me. I go towards
[6:45] it. she runs the other way. She's not into the
[6:48] spooky things and paranormal things that go on
[6:50] in the house. So that's the second night. The
[6:54] Sunday night, I was a little bit creeped out
[6:57] by it because I thought I don't want this to
[6:58] happen again tonight. So I went round the house
[7:00] with a Hoover late on on that Sunday night and
[7:03] Hoovered everywhere. There's nothing on the carpet
[7:05] anywhere. My wife went to bed. I sort of joked
[7:10] with her, I hope I don't find a coin in the bedroom
[7:12] again. And then... I went up to bed a bit after
[7:16] her because I actually stopped up with the dogs
[7:17] and watched something on the telly. And probably
[7:20] half an hour, maybe an hour, I walked upstairs.
[7:24] As I walked up the staircase, in the center of
[7:27] the staircase was an American warm sink coin.
[7:33] I sort of shook my head, bent down, picked it
[7:35] up. You've got to be joking. I walked into the
[7:39] bedroom. I looked at the day, it was 2012. I
[7:41] checked my drawer. The coin wasn't there. You
[7:43] assume it's got to be the same one. And I woke
[7:46] my wife up and said, it's happened again. This
[7:49] is the third, and she just sort of, she was asleep.
[7:51] I'd woke her up, which is not ideal waking your
[7:54] wife up to tell that you're finding coins in
[7:56] your house. But she sort of snatched it off me
[7:59] and said, just give it here. And she took it
[8:01] off me and she put it on her bedside table in
[8:03] the far side of the bedroom. And I heard the
[8:07] clink of the other side. So I know she'd put
[8:08] it there. And that night I went to bed Googling
[8:12] why am I finding American coins in my house?
[8:16] And the general consensus was spiritualist people
[8:18] on Google saying, somebody's coming to visit
[8:21] you from America. Now the strange thing was,
[8:24] and you could say this is just coincidence, again,
[8:27] using my logical side of my brain, a friend of
[8:31] mine who also used to rent this room that I'm
[8:33] in right now, which is now my office, he now
[8:35] lives in the States and had done for 10 years
[8:38] at this point. And he was coming back the next
[8:41] week to visit us for the first time. So again,
[8:45] could be coincidence, could be whatever, however
[8:48] you want to take that. But things got a little
[8:51] bit weirder after this. So that was Friday, Saturday,
[8:54] Sunday, I found this coin. On the Monday, I woke
[8:58] up out of bed, first thing in the morning, gone
[9:01] round the end of the bed and grabbed my towel
[9:03] off the radiator. I've not gone anywhere near
[9:05] my wife's side of the bed, I've just gone to
[9:07] the end of the bed, grabbed the towel, gone into
[9:09] the bathroom and I'm having a shower. Now if
[9:11] you can imagine our bathroom, it has a a glass
[9:14] panel it's a bath with a shower in it and it's
[9:16] got a glass panel and there's one door in and
[9:18] out of there so it's not a huge bathroom it's
[9:20] a three bed semi -detached house it's not a huge
[9:23] bathroom you wouldn't know if somebody else was
[9:25] in there with you put it that way but i'm having
[9:28] a shower i'm washing my hair and i'm genuinely
[9:32] i'm thinking about this coin as probably anybody
[9:34] would be because it's a bit strange it keeps
[9:37] reoccurring and then something hits me on the
[9:40] back of the leg on the back of the car but it
[9:42] hit me at quite a pace as in like a stinging
[9:45] pace and then I heard the noise at the bathtub
[9:48] and I knew it was going to be the coin and I
[9:50] bent down and picked it up and it was the coin
[9:52] somebody had thrown the coin at me in the bath
[9:54] but there was nobody in the bathroom now if you've
[9:58] read the books which it looks like Ash you might
[10:00] be on with it or maybe read a bit of the book
[10:02] so far that story is in that book it's near the
[10:08] end of the book because this is the reason that
[10:10] I wrote the book in the first place because after
[10:13] that had happened I ran back into the bedroom
[10:15] and said to my wife I was halfway through shampooing
[10:17] my hair I was excited that this had happened
[10:19] to me and not somebody else and I ran in and
[10:22] said I've just had a coin thrown at me in the
[10:25] bath it's that one cent American coin I put it
[10:28] on my bedside table I took some photos of it
[10:31] and I left it there and said don't move it I
[10:34] want to know if it moves and I'm just going to
[10:36] document if it moves and I had a work call that
[10:39] night I had to go back in the shower to finish
[10:41] off finish off doing my hair first of all but
[10:43] I had a work call after that working from home.
[10:47] My wife had gone to work and then I went to make
[10:49] a cup of tea downstairs and I phoned my dad to
[10:52] tell him what had happened this weekend all over
[10:54] the Friday Saturday Sunday one day and he said
[10:56] well where's the coin now and so it's upstairs
[10:59] on my bedside table so I walked upstairs and
[11:02] I'm on the phone to my dad with my right hand
[11:05] with my left hand I put my hand on the coin and
[11:07] I rolled it off the bedside table, it's like
[11:09] a mirrored bedside table and as I rolled it off
[11:12] there were two American one -cent coins and I
[11:15] know for a fact there were only one when I put
[11:18] that there but they were they must have been
[11:20] stacked on top of each other or I'd done some
[11:23] magic trick without knowing I have no idea but
[11:25] there were two coins now in my hand and I told
[11:27] my dad this and he said oh you you'll be a millionaire
[11:30] if this carries on um if only they were just
[11:34] one -cent coins but then Fast forward a week
[11:38] later to when my friend is there and I'm telling
[11:40] him this story that I've just told you. And I
[11:43] can see his face and he's just, he's getting
[11:46] paler and paler as I'm telling him the story.
[11:48] And I said, what's wrong? Are you okay? And he
[11:52] said, when, when did I come to yours last? Now
[11:55] the reason he was there on that day, he was fitting
[11:56] some lights on my driveway and he'd come round
[11:59] to do the second fix. The first fix he was there
[12:02] the Sunday before, which was the day before the
[12:05] coin got thrown at me in the shower. So as I'm
[12:09] sat telling him this, he turns around and says,
[12:11] well, if I was here last Sunday, I got home that
[12:14] night, I took off my Snickers work trousers and
[12:16] other work trousers with the pockets all the
[12:18] way down the side. And his wife checked all the
[12:21] pockets before she chucked them in the washing
[12:22] machine. He's renowned for leaving screws in
[12:24] there apparently. And she found one thing in
[12:28] one of the pockets and it was an American one
[12:30] cent piece. So it tied him into the story to
[12:35] the stage where he genuinely said to me, they'd
[12:38] better not have followed me home. And he couldn't
[12:40] wait to get home to get the coin and bring it
[12:42] back to my house. So I've now got the three coins
[12:44] at home. But as that all unfolded, I've got another
[12:49] friend who sat there sort of gobsmacked listening
[12:51] to all this story and just said, he's called
[12:53] Ian in the book. I've changed the names of everybody,
[12:55] including myself in the book. He just turned
[13:00] around and said, you should write about this
[13:01] stuff. I'd read it. And that's when I started
[13:05] writing that night. And since then I've done
[13:08] two books, two audio books myself, learning on
[13:11] the job. I did get somebody to produce the second
[13:15] one. They were better than me doing the first
[13:17] one, to be fair. And yeah, it's just gone from
[13:21] there, really. Crazy. That's, it's like, it's
[13:27] one of them where I just think there is no explanation
[13:30] for that. When you know there's no coin there
[13:33] and it's just been something thrown at you, especially.
[13:37] Yeah. The thing in the shower for me was absolutely
[13:40] fascinating because if you read the book, that
[13:43] first book was probably three or four stories
[13:45] that are about me. There's 25 stories in there,
[13:49] 25 true stories about people that have lived
[13:51] here, people that have visited here, friends,
[13:53] family. And like I say, three or four of them
[13:58] are about me. So for something like that of that
[14:01] magnitude to happen to me, I was like, yes, it's
[14:04] happened to me finally. You talk to other people
[14:07] and you think you're mad. doing that but I'm
[14:09] really intrigued with what goes on here and I
[14:12] want to know what it's all about. I know you're
[14:19] excited that something else had happened to you.
[14:22] How are you feeling at this point when the first
[14:26] night, the second night, the third night, the
[14:30] throwing, the second coin and what does your
[14:34] wife think about it? Oh she's not a fan. I mentioned
[14:38] earlier she genuinely And she's actually sent
[14:42] me two different houses today. She sends me houses
[14:44] all the time on Facebook. If you look at my chat
[14:47] between me and the wife, it's just house, house,
[14:49] house, house, house. We have actually looked
[14:52] at moving. But the thing is with this house,
[14:56] I've lived here 21 years. It is my home. I do
[14:59] absolutely love it. We've spent about seven years
[15:03] renovating the place in total. So it's our home.
[15:06] We've made it a really nice family home. And
[15:09] we do love it, but there are times when weird
[15:14] stuff happens that, I mean, it's unsettled me
[15:17] a few times. There's been some things that have
[15:19] unsettled me, but yeah, my wife's a little bit
[15:21] more jumpy than me. Like I say, I'll run towards
[15:23] it and try and find out what it was, what's going
[15:25] on. And sometimes there's a logical explanation
[15:28] for things. As you guys all well know, you can
[15:31] say, well, actually it could have been there.
[15:34] Might not have been, but it could have been.
[15:36] But then other times it's blatantly obvious when
[15:39] you see something poltergeist activity -wise
[15:41] in front of your own eyes that can't happen.
[15:47] So have you done any historical research for
[15:52] the property itself to see what's been going
[15:55] on there? Yes. So after the first book, which
[16:00] Ray is now, I must tell you this actually, I
[16:03] pledged, we lost my mum back in May 23. And the
[16:07] book wasn't launched until October the 31st,
[16:09] 2023. But I promised my mom in her dying days
[16:13] that I'd give all the money from the book to
[16:15] a charity of her choice. And it's just raised
[16:17] over 57 grand for Western Pied Cancer Charity.
[16:22] So it's done very well. But because it's done
[16:25] so well, it's gained a bit of a following through
[16:28] social media and stuff. And people were messaging
[16:31] saying, please write a second book, please write
[16:33] a second book. So I did. Now, I've been honest
[16:38] with everybody. I've done this book for me and
[16:39] my little family because it takes a long time
[16:41] to do these things and market them and be your
[16:44] own PR person, all that sort of stuff. It takes
[16:47] a long time to do it all. So I said, I'll do
[16:50] this one, but I'll do it for me and my little
[16:52] family. I've got a little boy now. Absolutely,
[16:54] absolutely. And the second one's done really,
[16:57] really well. But for the second one, a lot of
[17:01] people are asking if I could find out more about
[17:03] the history. They were intrigued about the story
[17:05] of the house and the land it fits on and all
[17:07] that sort of stuff. There was a lady called Joanne
[17:10] who was just a she was a fan of the first book.
[17:14] She got in contact and said, I'm a local historian.
[17:18] I have access to local archives, national archives,
[17:21] and I'm going to find out every single detail
[17:23] about everything in the house, the land. And
[17:28] she did. True to a word, really lovely lady.
[17:31] He invited her around to the house a couple of
[17:33] times. We sat down, we chatted. She was actually
[17:35] on Go Some Trend, did a 24 hour investigation
[17:38] here. And she was on the video for that. So they
[17:42] interviewed her on there. And some of the stuff
[17:45] that she found out was amazing. I mean, to this
[17:48] day, the detail she found out and photos. Photos
[17:51] I can't share with mine because we've still got
[17:53] surviving family members and things. But yeah,
[17:57] some of the detail that she got that I wasn't
[17:58] aware of and local. neighbors that I'd spoken
[18:01] to for the first book weren't aware of is unbelievable.
[18:05] To this stage she found a pool's win from the
[18:08] 1970s of like £1 .70 or something that was in
[18:13] a local paper of the lady that used to live here.
[18:16] Like that's the sort of detail that she gradually
[18:19] went into, it's unbelievable. So yes, the second
[18:22] book has got a full chapter dedicated to all
[18:24] that, lives and deaths and who lived here, what
[18:26] years they lived here. all the stuff that we
[18:30] wouldn't be able to find out firsthand, or I
[18:32] wouldn't. So if we kind of take it back, and
[18:39] you mentioned that the first sighting was just
[18:43] before you moved in to the property back in other
[18:46] years ago. Kind of take us back to the original,
[18:48] kind of the origin of the lady in the bay window.
[18:52] Yeah, of course I can. So a friend of mine Craig
[18:57] who I worked with, a work colleague really, but
[18:59] we got on really well and we'd got a Christmas
[19:02] do, booked it in the middle of December and I
[19:05] just bought my house, this house. I actually
[19:08] bought another, this is where Strange Coincidence
[19:11] was coming, I actually bought another house and
[19:13] it fell through the day before I was supposed
[19:15] to be moving in and then this came on the market
[19:17] the next day. So I ended up buying this one and
[19:22] I'm glad I did now because you'll never find
[19:24] another one like it. But about a week before
[19:28] I moved in we were due to go on a works Christmas
[19:30] do and we were due to go to Hollywood Bowl So
[19:34] he was going to pick me up and these this was
[19:36] in the days I think I wrote in the book the days
[19:38] of fast and furious and people driving folks
[19:40] all courses with big wheels and body kits and
[19:43] blue lights and all that sort of stuff and I
[19:46] have one of them when I turned 17 as well with
[19:49] a 1 .2 litre engine in it and It sounded good
[19:53] so So yeah these were those days and I was living
[19:58] at my mum and dad's time and he pulled up outside
[20:01] the house I heard him pull up before I saw him
[20:03] out the window and then went out to the car and
[20:06] one of the first things he said was I hear you've
[20:08] bought a house around here and I went yeah it's
[20:10] just around the corner he said well let's go
[20:11] and have a look then before we go to Hollywood
[20:12] Bowl I'll drive up there you can show me. So
[20:15] we drove up to the top of the road now where
[20:17] I live it's quite a steep hill and we're sort
[20:22] of a few hours down but you have to look up at
[20:24] the house so it's although it's a hill going
[20:27] down the road, it's quite steep on the left -hand
[20:30] side of the road to the right as well, so my
[20:32] house sits quite high up off the roadside. So
[20:35] he pulls up at the side of the road, and I say,
[20:37] it's that one there, buddy, and I'm pointing
[20:39] at the house, and he sort of bent over and looked
[20:42] up at the house and pointed and said, yeah, it
[20:45] looks a nice place, looks a nice place, and then
[20:46] he sat back, really nonchalantly, sort of sat
[20:48] back into his chair, about to set off and said,
[20:51] looks lovely, but who's the lady in the bay window?
[20:56] And I kind of went, what? What do you mean? And
[21:00] I looked at it, I knew the house was empty. So
[21:03] it only had, if I remember right, I think it
[21:05] only had two radiators in the house at the time.
[21:07] It had no furniture. It had been painted, don't
[21:10] remember, it had been painted in a very neutral
[21:11] color throughout, but it needed a lot of TLC.
[21:14] There were no carpets. It was, yeah, it was in
[21:17] a bit of a mess. It needed a lot of work. And
[21:22] I knew nobody had been living here for six months.
[21:24] And by the way, I'm in the middle of December.
[21:26] and he's saying that he can see an old lady stood
[21:29] in the top bay window looking out, which is now
[21:32] our master bedroom, by the way. So I've looked
[21:37] up at the house again, I can't see anything.
[21:39] I've looked at him and said, you are looking
[21:42] at the right one, aren't you? And I've called
[21:44] it number 333 in the book, it's not number 333.
[21:47] But I've just said, it's that one there. And
[21:50] he says, well, I can still see her. She's looking
[21:53] down at us like she doesn't want us to be outside
[21:55] the house. And then he drove off. So, I kinda,
[22:02] again, I was 19 at the time. I was fully sceptic.
[22:06] Nothing's ever happened to me. In those 19 years,
[22:08] I've never had any reason to believe in anything
[22:09] paranormal or see ghosts or spirits, anything
[22:12] like that. But the way that he said it was very
[22:16] convincing. And yeah, we used to have a banter
[22:19] and things like that, but the way that he said
[22:20] it just sounded like he was being serious. So
[22:24] I thought, I can't just leave it. I need to ask
[22:26] him the question. So I just said, Go on then,
[22:28] what did this old lady look like as we were driving
[22:31] off and he said, she was probably, I don't know,
[22:33] 78 year old, gray hair, dark cardigan, white
[22:36] blouse, but she had a real piercing stare. And
[22:39] he said she had her arms on the very window ledge
[22:42] looking sort of peering hours. And that was,
[22:48] I didn't think much of it at the time. That was
[22:52] the first sighting of this lady at the time.
[22:59] Did you think he was taking the piss at that
[23:01] point? I probably did more than anything. Yeah,
[23:05] but I could I could hear the the tone of his
[23:08] voice It didn't sound like he was taking the
[23:10] piss really it genuinely at the first I thought
[23:13] he was and then I heard the tone of his voice
[23:15] and I was like Yeah, all right, whatever, but
[23:17] it must have played on my mind for me to ask
[23:19] him for me to ask him What she looked like I
[23:22] must have been thinking hmm. Is he telling the
[23:25] truth or is he not? But yeah, that was the first
[23:29] sighting. I suppose what, and this should have
[23:32] solidified it, but it didn't. The day that I
[23:35] got the keys was about a week, week and a half
[23:36] after that. And my fiance at the time didn't
[23:39] want to move into the house until we'd got carpets
[23:42] and furniture and stuff in there. But being a
[23:45] 19 -year -old lad and getting the keys to a house
[23:47] was like, I'm going there and I'm phoning all
[23:50] my mates to come round. So I did. And at the
[23:54] time I phoned just five of my mates and said,
[23:57] come round, bring some beer, bring a sleeping
[23:59] bag, we'll sleep wherever in the house. We'll
[24:02] just see the first night in the new house in
[24:05] well. When they got to the house, they all walked
[24:09] in, beer under one arm, sleeping bag under the
[24:11] other, got into the front room. I might have
[24:16] told you guys this at the Spook and Spirit Fest
[24:18] the other week, but remember when people used
[24:22] to paint around rugs in a living room because
[24:25] it saved on varnish? So it had a massive rectangle
[24:29] in the middle of this living room with the old
[24:31] oak floorboards and that really dark, thick varnish
[24:36] all the way around it. Like it had been done
[24:39] like that for years and years and years but then
[24:41] somebody's just taken away the rug. It was not
[24:44] very nice, I'll be honest. But we all sat down
[24:48] in that front room in that rectangle because
[24:51] nobody wanted to sit on that dark varnish that
[24:53] looked horrendous. And we started to play Monopoly.
[24:58] because I didn't have a TV license and I was
[25:00] scared to death to put the telly on. So we sat
[25:03] down, we had a few beers, we'd been playing a
[25:05] few hours and the six of us, remember, sat around
[25:08] this board. The only other thing that was in
[25:09] the front room was a tiny Christmas tree. Just
[25:13] to say at the mick, I'd bought a tiny little
[25:15] twinkling Christmas tree and put it right in
[25:16] the corner of the room in this alcove of the
[25:18] room. But other than that, there's a door to
[25:21] get to the bottom of the stairs, there's a door
[25:24] to get to the kitchen, which were both closed
[25:26] at the time. and then there's this alcove in
[25:28] the far corner, and this massive bay window that
[25:33] just dominates the front room, like a huge, huge
[25:35] bay window. So we're all sat around about two
[25:39] hours into the game, maybe two, three hours into
[25:41] the game, and one of the guys, I'm looking at
[25:46] him, this is the bit I don't get about this story,
[25:48] I'm looking at him across the circle from me
[25:50] as we're playing. He looks over his shoulder
[25:53] and then yelps and like, like... He was petrified
[25:58] of something and tumbles towards me, across the
[26:02] board, smashing everyone's glasses, bottles,
[26:05] cams everywhere, Monopoly games, screws. I think
[26:09] I had hotels on as well as fuming. And he sort
[26:13] of bowled past me into the corner and he sat
[26:17] down with his back against the wall with his
[26:20] arms tucked around his legs. And he was in shock.
[26:23] Something had just absolutely petrified him.
[26:27] because we're six lads in a room and bear in
[26:30] mind this is one of my I've known him since 11
[26:33] years old and he was quite a big lad I mean I'm
[26:36] six foot four he's quite a big lad like that
[26:40] way he's quite stocky you wouldn't mess with
[26:42] him put it that way he's not the sort of kid
[26:43] to show his emotion like this and he wasn't messing
[26:47] about either this was this was serious I was
[26:49] trying to talk to him he couldn't get his words
[26:51] out to tell me what had happened So I grabbed
[26:53] him off the floor in all the commotion, everyone
[26:55] happy and blinding, saying, you've just spilled
[26:56] your drink and you've ruined the game. And I
[26:59] took him into the kitchen and I just stood with
[27:01] my arms on his shoulders and just said, what
[27:03] happened? And he went, did you not see her? I
[27:07] said, see who? He went, the lady. There was a
[27:10] lady sat on an invisible chair in the corner
[27:12] of the room, just staring at me. And he said
[27:15] the words, piercing stare. And at that point,
[27:19] this is a week and a half apart. and it's my
[27:22] first night in the new house. I still was young
[27:26] and naive and didn't put two and two together.
[27:30] I still didn't really, I knew what, these people
[27:33] didn't know each other either. So Craig was a
[27:34] work colleague and Greg, well I've called him
[27:37] in the book, was just a friend from school. They
[27:40] don't know each other. So there's no way they
[27:42] can collaborate stories between each other. But
[27:46] I asked him to describe her to me and he described
[27:48] it the same way. Dark cardigan, white blouse.
[27:51] He could see a full body, so he said she had
[27:53] a full sort of black gown sort of dress thing
[27:57] on. But she was sat in an invisible chair, apparently
[28:02] in the corner of the room behind him. But I was
[28:03] facing that corner. I didn't see anything. So,
[28:10] I don't know. There are such things as coincidences,
[28:14] but they start getting strange when it starts
[28:17] getting to one, two, three, four, six people,
[28:20] seven sightings. It starts getting a bit weird.
[28:24] I mean, there's coincidences and then there's
[28:26] seeing an old lady in the room. You can't fake
[28:33] the fear that he portrayed then. If he could
[28:38] do that on cue, he'd be working in Hollywood.
[28:44] It's probably the best way to put it, because
[28:46] he couldn't even get his words out. Like I say,
[28:49] he was stuttering to get his words out, and I
[28:52] had to take him away out of the room for him
[28:53] to stutter to me what he'd just seen. sort of
[28:59] traumatizing event for him, I suppose, at the
[29:01] time. And it's like you said, these events took
[29:06] place on separate occasions, that sighting and
[29:10] when you first moved in, you were frenzied in
[29:12] it. And that was the days before the internet
[29:15] properly. Oh yeah, this is 2004. Yeah, so that
[29:20] was just on the cusp of social media and everything.
[29:25] So it's not like they could have potentially
[29:29] seen the same post online? No such thing back
[29:32] then for the old people in the house. You take
[29:37] it to modern day right now. So after the first
[29:41] book had come out and I've written about this
[29:42] in the second book, there was a guy contacted
[29:45] me on Facebook called David. This was his actual
[29:48] name and I asked him if he wanted to use the
[29:50] name of the book and he said, yeah. So put him
[29:53] in the second book. He had somehow come across
[29:57] my book who was in a meeting at work and somebody
[29:59] had said, have you heard about that book the
[30:01] lady in the window? A few of them had in the
[30:03] room and he hadn't and somebody gave him a copy
[30:06] of it and he took it home and read it and he
[30:08] got to about chapter 10 and he reached out to
[30:11] me on Facebook and said I had to reach out to
[30:13] you I know you don't say where the house is what
[30:16] the address is all this sort of stuff and you've
[30:17] changed the names and stuff he said but I know
[30:19] which house you're talking about and I've had
[30:22] a few people do this on social media trying to
[30:24] guess where it is and stuff. And I said, go on
[30:26] then, tell me what the address is. And he told
[30:29] me. And I was like, okay, how do you know that?
[30:33] And he said, I've seen the lady in the bay window
[30:36] after she'd passed. And I know who it was. And
[30:40] I was like, okay, you've got me attention. We
[30:45] need to talk. So I spoke to him on the phone.
[30:48] He told me the story. He himself, and I've got
[30:51] the interview recorded. which was just unbelievable.
[30:55] He sat at my kitchen table with me. For the second
[30:58] book, I wanted to write a chapter about this.
[31:00] And he told me the whole thing about it. He'd
[31:02] basically gone to visit his mom across the road.
[31:05] He'd lived there from 1967. He was a small child
[31:07] when his family moved in, bang across the road.
[31:11] And his mom still had the house in 2020, and
[31:15] he'd gone to visit her. Now he couldn't put his
[31:17] finger on whether it was 2019 or 2020. It's kind
[31:22] of irrelevant, because the lady he was talking
[31:24] about died many, many years before. But he was
[31:29] stood in the front room talking to his mom. He'd
[31:31] gone round to make sure she was OK, because she
[31:32] was quite poorly at the time. And he's just,
[31:35] middle of the day, he's just looking out of the
[31:37] bay window on that side of the road. And he can
[31:39] see an old lady looking out the window at the
[31:42] top. And she just looks a bit strange to him.
[31:47] And she's sort of staring out into space. And
[31:49] she's not moved for a long time. And he doesn't
[31:52] mention anything to his mom. But about a week
[31:56] later, he goes back to visit his mom, because
[31:58] she's still very poorly. And he's around at the
[32:00] house again. He's just sat in the front room
[32:02] with her. And he's talking about families that
[32:04] lived on the street when he was growing up. And
[32:06] he said, oh, are the Robinson's still next door?
[32:08] Oh, are the Egbert's on that side still? Are
[32:10] they still there? And the Tomkins, are they still
[32:13] across the road? And she said, oh, no, no, no.
[32:16] She died years ago. And he kind of was like,
[32:20] oh. I saw her. But he didn't tell his mom, because
[32:24] his mom was very poor. And he didn't tell anybody
[32:26] until he told me. When he reached out and told
[32:29] me, because he was a skeptic and didn't want
[32:32] people thinking he was nuts that he'd seen a
[32:34] ghost. But he knew the lady. He grew up across
[32:37] the road from her. So he's a random guy that
[32:41] I don't know. He's not a fruit loop in any way,
[32:45] shape or form from me speaking to him. He seems
[32:47] a very sensible guy. He's worked in education
[32:49] for a lot of his life. and transport and all
[32:54] sorts of stuff so he was quite a clever bloke
[32:57] and he just yeah to hear him tell the story then
[33:02] me show him pictures and when he saw one of the
[33:04] pictures nearly fall off his chair backwards
[33:06] was incredible and i could see it really shook
[33:10] him up when i showed him the pictures like that's
[33:11] her that's what i saw that's the lady that i
[33:14] saw i was like okay yeah well she definitely
[33:17] died she's uh she died she died in the house
[33:22] so uh yeah So you mentioned that you haven't
[33:27] seen the lady yourself. Has your wife seen the
[33:35] lady? She's the reason it's six people and seven
[33:38] sites and she's seen her twice. So the first
[33:41] time she saw her was, in fact, I can tell you
[33:46] this, I can do you a little bit of a reveal if
[33:49] you like. So my next podcast guest is going to
[33:52] be my wife. spent so long asking and asking and
[33:58] asking away to say please come on the podcast
[34:00] because people want to hear from you because
[34:01] you've seen her twice and she's been here for
[34:03] a lot of the other incidents as well. She was
[34:06] here the first time I saw a Poltergeist activity,
[34:08] she sat next to me when it happened and that
[34:11] blows my mind to this day but yeah I've been
[34:15] begging her to come on the podcast and she is
[34:17] so we're filming that tomorrow so yeah that'll
[34:23] be that'll be coming soon on Beyond the Bay Window.
[34:27] Amazing. Amazing. You just mentioned poltergeist
[34:29] activity. Yes Go on. I know a good poltergeist
[34:34] Okay, so this was the first time I'd seen it
[34:38] with my own eyes But I was I was sat on the sofa
[34:42] Next to my wife. We'd had both had long days
[34:44] at work and I've literally got a bottle of wine
[34:47] and poured us both a glass and we were sat down
[34:49] just chatting to each other on the sofa across
[34:52] from us on the far side of the room was the telly
[34:54] and the door at the bottom of the stairs where
[34:57] we've had quite a lot of activity through the
[34:59] years with footsteps and shadows going underneath
[35:01] and all sorts of stuff but as I'm sat there I
[35:06] hear the door handle got quite a creak like a
[35:08] squeak to it and I heard it and I looked round
[35:11] I could see the door handle coming down spring
[35:14] loaded door handle like metal piece about that
[35:17] long spring loaded I watched the door handle
[35:19] come down and then the door opened about seven
[35:22] or eight inches enough for me to be able to see
[35:25] into the foot of the Sorry into the cracking
[35:28] the door and I sort of put my head around said
[35:31] hello, and I'm only I'll be what 10 feet away
[35:35] from this and I shouted hello Because I thought
[35:39] it's got to be somebody there's got to be somebody
[35:41] there and the door handle snapped up and the
[35:44] door slammed shut and I jumped up off of the
[35:46] sofa faster than Linford Christie these heyday
[35:49] and got to the door Open the door check the door
[35:53] at the bottom stairs. It's locked. Nobody has
[35:55] run upstairs. There's only passage upstairs,
[35:58] out the front door. There's nobody there. And
[36:01] I stood scratching my head for a good 10 seconds
[36:05] thinking, what have I just seen? Have I just
[36:08] seen that? And I turned around to my wife and
[36:10] said, before you say anything, I need you to
[36:13] just tell me in step -by -step what you've just
[36:16] seen. So I need to clarify what I've just seen
[36:18] in my own head. And she said, the door handle
[36:21] came down. The door opened. You said hello. The
[36:25] door handle snapped open. The door slammed shut.
[36:27] And I went, that's what I saw. Explain that one
[36:33] to me. Because I can explain doors opening and
[36:35] closing because you can get drafts in houses,
[36:37] I get that. You've seen Uncanny with Danny Robbins
[36:40] in the wind tunnel. You can get a draft in a
[36:44] house, I completely get that. A draft doesn't
[36:47] turn the door handle, but spring loaded. Absolutely.
[36:52] And that was genuinely, that was a game changer
[36:54] for me because I'd seen shadows, heard footsteps,
[36:58] heard voices in the house. um but to see something
[37:01] physical move was wow yeah a bit crazy so this
[37:10] is all happening how so you moved in as a teenager
[37:17] and you're now not not no no um it's just me
[37:23] we've discussed the age together we have discussed
[37:25] ages together um and you've gone You said that
[37:32] you'd not really had the paranormal sort of anything
[37:35] happen before that time. How has your view on
[37:41] the paranormal changed since you've sort of been
[37:43] on this journey with the house? Absolutely massively.
[37:48] I think if you talk to, even if something hadn't
[37:52] happened to me, I think genuinely having friends
[37:56] and family that you love and you trust. and having
[38:00] them be petrified in your own house and having
[38:02] some people that won't, one person that's not
[38:04] been back here for nigh on, it must be about
[38:08] 17 years now since he was scared off out of the
[38:10] house and never come back and used to come two
[38:13] or three times a week when it was a bit more
[38:17] of a lad pad before it was a family home. But
[38:21] yeah, I think even just looking at friends and
[38:26] family, I would say, there's got to be something
[38:30] going on there for so many people to have witnessed
[38:33] things and said that things have happened to
[38:36] them in the house but then for things to start
[38:38] happening to me and for me to witness it and
[38:42] yeah I'm not a I'm not gonna sit in front of
[38:45] you by the way and say 100 % my house is haunted
[38:48] there are ghosts and spirits here because I don't
[38:51] think I could that's the logical side of my brain
[38:53] I cannot sit here and say that to you 100 % my
[38:56] house is haunted there are ghosts here i'm still
[38:58] looking for logical explanation to it and somebody
[39:01] asked me the other week is it definitely ghosts
[39:03] and spirits all that sort of stuff it could be
[39:06] something we haven't discovered yet it could
[39:08] be an energy that we don't know about yet they're
[39:10] still finding many animals and plants and things
[39:14] in the sea maybe there's something they've not
[39:17] discovered that's going on here that could be
[39:20] that could be as logical as saying it's ghosts
[39:22] and spirits because i mean there's a there's
[39:25] a difference between like having a lady standing
[39:30] in the bay window looking down to moving a handle.
[39:34] Exactly, and I've not seen the lady. So until
[39:36] I see that with my, I think if she walked in
[39:39] there, I'm tight in the house now, if she walked
[39:41] in there and stood on the camera, I'd probably
[39:42] say yes. I literally hope she does because that
[39:44] would be amazing content. I have had before,
[39:49] I was doing, I can't remember what I was doing,
[39:52] I can't remember if it was a podcast or I was
[39:53] doing the audiobook, recording the audio, because
[39:55] I recorded the audiobook here as well. and I
[39:58] got two knocks on the door here next to me. But
[40:01] it was the same knock that my wife does when
[40:02] she brings, she sometimes brings me a cup of
[40:04] tea when I'm working up here. So I kinda got
[40:08] up, went to the door, looked out, and it was
[40:10] pitch black on the hallway. I was like, that's
[40:14] strange. Went downstairs and said, did you? She'd
[40:17] been upstairs. She was sat on the sofa, confused,
[40:19] anything. I said, did you just be upstairs? She
[40:20] went, no. Well, somebody's just come and knocked
[40:23] on the door, like you, with like the same knock
[40:26] knock. Yeah, there's nobody upstairs. So yeah,
[40:30] I have had stuff happen while, while I've been
[40:32] doing stuff like this. I'll just kind of say,
[40:35] because I know you had a few teams stuff coming,
[40:38] mentioned goes with Trent and not the Haunted
[40:40] Project. My Haunted Project that was that episode
[40:42] of the world trip, they kept them, guys came
[40:44] up. So any evidence that these sort of teams
[40:48] have captured while staying there or visiting?
[40:51] Yeah, so there were a few things. I got on really
[40:55] well with the guys from my Haunted Hotel with
[40:58] Dan and Harry. And got really well with Paul
[41:02] and Mark from Ghosts on Trent as well. And when
[41:05] Ghosts on Trent came around, they literally spent
[41:07] a full 24 hours here. They were here for a full,
[41:09] full 24 hours. I shipped the dogs out to my dad's
[41:12] house. My wife moved out with a little one for
[41:16] the day. And we spent the day here and we did
[41:19] a full investigation. Brilliant. But if you haven't
[41:22] seen that, get on YouTube and watch it. They
[41:24] were brilliant. And I think the episode did them
[41:26] wonders as well. They got loads of views on that.
[41:31] So, yeah, evidence -wise on the day, in my head,
[41:35] I genuinely turned around to them as they were
[41:37] leaving and said, I'm a little bit disappointed
[41:40] for you that nothing has happened, that I will
[41:43] sit here and tell you that I've been here 21
[41:45] years, and yes, I've written two books about
[41:47] paranormal experiences, and I've got probably
[41:49] nigh on a third book, about half or two -thirds
[41:54] of a third book that I could write right now,
[41:57] but that's 21 years. So you've got to be very
[42:00] lucky to be here when something happens. I did
[42:03] explain to them, and they understood this completely.
[42:05] They've been doing the game long enough with
[42:07] paranormal investigations. I've been here 21
[42:09] years. I might have written two books about it,
[42:11] and I might have another two thirds of a book
[42:13] or half a book ready to write of things that
[42:17] have happened. But that's over 21 years. So there
[42:20] are a lot of days where things don't happen.
[42:23] However, there were a couple of instances while
[42:25] they were here. We went out. I took them to the
[42:29] best kebab house in Sheffield while they were
[42:32] here. So we went out for an hour, we left the
[42:34] cameras rolling in the house, and they had six
[42:36] cameras rolling in the house. And the footage
[42:39] that they captured while we were out, there were
[42:41] a lot of tapping noises and knocking noises that
[42:46] really strangely weren't there for the rest of
[42:49] the day while we were in the house. Now these
[42:52] could be from a logical standpoint, from a skeptical
[42:55] minded person, these could be the house settling
[42:58] down noises. But if they are, why weren't they
[43:03] there during the rest of the day while we're
[43:05] filming for another 24 hours is a strange thing.
[43:09] But one thing that really caught my eye, and
[43:12] I still don't know where I stand on this, if
[43:13] you haven't seen it, go and have a look for it.
[43:16] So Paul messaged me about, it was about two weeks
[43:19] into the edit, and said, I think I've just found
[43:22] something. It might be the best thing we've ever
[43:23] captured. And I said, go on then. So he sent
[43:27] me the clip, and he just sent me a little clip.
[43:29] But he said, just fast forward on the timeline
[43:31] at the bottom, you'll see 5121. Have a look at
[43:36] it and tell me what you see. And that's all he
[43:38] said to me. And I watched the footage and went,
[43:41] what the bloody hell is that? It looked like
[43:45] a lady stood at the window. Not at the bay window,
[43:47] by the way. That was at the window in this office
[43:50] right next to me where I'm sat right now. If
[43:55] you look at the footage, it really does look
[43:57] like a lady stood at the window. We even had
[44:01] we ended up having a debate the three of us me
[44:05] Mark and Paul from ghosts on Trent got on a podcast
[44:08] a bit like this and had a debate on YouTube live
[44:10] about it and We ended up at the decision that
[44:14] Paul said it was pareidolia Mark said he thinks
[44:18] it was a lady at the window and I said I don't
[44:22] know I'd like you to bring the camera back put
[44:25] it in the same position same camera same lighting
[44:28] same It was raining that night so I've put some
[44:30] water on the window of wait till it's a rainy
[44:32] night and let's see what we can see. Now I have
[44:35] tried to film it myself. I've actually bought
[44:37] a camera off Ghost on Trent, what they used that
[44:40] day and I've tried to film it myself. In fact
[44:42] I don't know if it was the camera they used that
[44:44] day because they borrowed some cameras as well.
[44:46] But I've tried to film it from the same position
[44:48] and I can't see the same thing. All I see is
[44:52] a reflection of a wardrobe which is sat next
[44:55] to me right now. I don't see this figure of a
[44:58] lady. stood there but yeah if you haven't seen
[45:01] that check it out and if you want to borrow the
[45:03] footage for this I can certainly send it across
[45:05] to you so you can have a look at that. One strange
[45:07] thing from that I messaged my dad and said have
[45:11] a look at this what do you make of this and within
[45:14] a minute he sent me a picture back of my mom
[45:17] on her wedding day and I put the two pictures
[45:21] side by side and I couldn't unsee it so I'll
[45:25] send you that as well and you have a look at
[45:26] it and that's what Mark was saying I think it's
[45:29] your mom I think your mom's turned up at the
[45:30] window. But it certainly, it uncannily looks
[45:36] like the silhouette of my mom on her wedding
[45:38] day holding some flowers right in front of her,
[45:41] very strange. It's not how I would have, it wouldn't
[45:44] have sort of resonated with me because I wouldn't
[45:46] remember my mom from her wedding day because
[45:48] I wasn't alive. So it's not the sort of memory
[45:52] I have of her. And it'd be lovely to think it
[45:55] was. I'm not saying it was, but it'd be lovely
[45:59] to think it was. 100%. Wow. So I have to follow
[46:07] that now. So the books have become hugely successful.
[46:14] And like you mentioned, raise a load of money
[46:16] for charity. Did you imagine that anything sort
[46:21] of quite frightening and personal would turn
[46:24] into something quite so positive? Oh, crikey,
[46:28] no, no, but I do. Genuinely every day. I look
[46:32] at, I've got a, I'm a bit of a data geek. Every
[46:36] day I look at how many books have sold, both
[46:39] the second book for me and my family, but also
[46:41] the first book for the charity. And it's nice
[46:43] to see that every day it's like, wow, that's
[46:46] how much it's raised for the charity today. It's
[46:48] fantastic feeling to have that. Literally every
[46:51] day you can look at it and say, wow, it's very
[46:53] excellent, more excellent, more. So it's just
[46:55] gonna keep going up and up and up. And it always
[46:58] will be the first book and the audio book from
[47:00] the first one will always be for the charity.
[47:03] Um, and it still does, it's still doing about
[47:05] 700 to a thousand pounds a month. It's amazing
[47:08] profit, which is just fantastic. It's really
[47:11] good. That is amazing. Wow. Yeah. Great tribute
[47:16] to your mom as well. It's a, yeah, it's nice.
[47:19] It's nice. It's a nice thing to have that. So
[47:22] you've very recently made an announcement about.
[47:27] Something you've been working on for a while.
[47:29] Do you want to talk to us about that? Yeah. Yeah,
[47:31] I can talk to you about that. Yeah. So, um, I,
[47:34] this all came about, I went to Cornwall last
[47:36] year with my wife and while we were there, um,
[47:40] I saw a leaflet for bottom in jail. And I thought,
[47:44] Ooh, seeing this place on loads of TV programs
[47:46] through the years, like paranormal TV programs.
[47:49] I'd love to go there. So I picked up leaflets
[47:51] while we're here. Do you mind if we go there
[47:53] for the day? And we had a great day there, a
[47:57] lovely day out of Bodmin Jail. But while we were
[47:59] at Bodmin Jail, do you know when you see these
[48:02] sort of racks full of little brochures when you're
[48:04] on holiday? I picked up another one to Jamaica
[48:06] Inn and went, ooh, I'd like to go there as well.
[48:09] That'd be a great place to go to. So on the way
[48:12] back from Bodmin Jail, we dropped into Jamaica
[48:14] Inn and we went for something to eat. No paranormal
[48:16] investigations or anything, but I walked around
[48:18] the museum, had something to eat. And then after
[48:21] we'd had something to eat, we got back to our
[48:23] place we were staying, which was lovely. And
[48:25] I sat down on Google. I was trying to find, I
[48:28] wonder if, there must be more places like this
[48:30] in Cornwall. But I was Googling it and I couldn't
[48:33] really find what I was looking for. So at that
[48:39] point, the cogs were going in my head thinking,
[48:41] why has somebody not built a one -stop shop where
[48:45] all event organizers are in? So think like, think
[48:48] like Sky Scanner. haunted events, haunted experiences.
[48:53] So I built it. I did a thing and started building
[48:59] it. So I started about six months ago, and it's
[49:03] now live. It's there. So you can go on hauntseek
[49:05] .co .uk. You can search for events from all different
[49:08] range of organizers out there. You can book your
[49:11] events. You book actually direct through them,
[49:13] but it just tells you all the information, pricing,
[49:16] and when they are, that sort of stuff. You can
[49:18] search for closest home. dates, that sort of
[49:21] stuff. On the flip side of it, there's something
[49:24] called My Haunt Seek, which is your own little
[49:29] paranormal passport, which gives you a little
[49:30] stamp for every investigation you've been on.
[49:33] And you can build up through tiers on that. But
[49:35] also, if you're an investigator and you like
[49:38] your paranormal investigations, you can put notes
[49:40] in there. You can put EVPs, videos, photos, and
[49:44] just store everything against that investigation.
[49:47] Because if you're like me, and you do like doing
[49:50] stuff like that you've run out of storage pretty
[49:52] quick so i just wanted to build somewhere that
[49:56] somebody can have their own little private space
[49:58] where they can keep all that sort of stuff so
[50:01] yeah that's my new little thing that's brand
[50:03] brand new off the shelf and you guys have been
[50:06] building websites as well haven't you yeah it's
[50:09] not about us it's about you though and we've
[50:14] had a look at the website and it looks really
[50:19] slick it's really nice Um, and thank you guys.
[50:26] It's great because it's funny to say that as
[50:29] soon as you mentioned that, I thought to myself,
[50:31] there isn't really anywhere that unless you know
[50:34] the individual places, there's not really anywhere
[50:38] that you can go to go what's going on. I mean,
[50:41] sometimes I try on Facebook. If we're at a loose
[50:43] end, we'll go, where can we go? What's on today?
[50:48] But there's no, it's really fucking difficult
[50:50] to find. I'm not going to lie. I'm just going
[50:53] we'll just go Delamere or something like that
[50:56] instead Yes, well this hopefully will give you
[50:59] literally at the minute I think there's about
[51:02] 900 events on there currently But I'm also trying
[51:05] to get more operators into there's any operators
[51:07] watching this that want to get their events on
[51:10] there Just give me a shout drop me an email or
[51:12] give me a shout on Facebook or anything like
[51:15] that And if there's any youtubers out there,
[51:18] we're talking about this earlier just off camera
[51:20] Um, is there any YouTubers out there? There's
[51:22] actually a section on there where you can put
[51:24] your YouTube channel on. Um, and it gives you
[51:28] a little, there's a little random button. So
[51:30] if you want to find your new favorite paranormal
[51:32] YouTubers, you click the random button, it will
[51:34] just select you somebody and you get watching
[51:36] and away you go. That's really cool. It's a spinning
[51:40] plan shirt. Yeah. It will just share the love
[51:43] a little bit in the paranormal community. I think
[51:44] that'd be nice. It needs it sometimes. Definitely.
[51:48] And it's not just like Ghost Hunt Sea where there's
[51:51] like, there's Ghost Tour, Psychic Nights, Scare
[51:54] Fest, always coming up to the peak payers for
[51:57] Scare Fest and stuff, and theatre shows. I've
[52:00] literally just been searching now, and the first
[52:02] thing that comes up when I look at the theatre
[52:03] shows is the Lady in the Bay window live theatre
[52:06] show. Is that a sponsored link or something,
[52:10] is it? Don't know how that got there. but yeah
[52:14] we've got another four theatre shows coming up
[52:16] later in the year but to be fair two of the we've
[52:19] sold out eight of the ten um we've done six of
[52:22] them so far and there's another four to go but
[52:24] two of them are sold out so if anybody does want
[52:27] tickets uh you can go to halifax or nottingham
[52:30] nottingham's on halloween so if you want a cool
[52:34] night fancy dress i'll be wearing fancy dress
[52:37] i've been bullied into it already in fact last
[52:39] time you saw me i was dressed as batman so and
[52:42] your dad was robin It was, it was, yeah. That
[52:45] was just like, behold, that was. It was, yeah.
[52:50] It was a very poor night. So yeah, that should
[52:53] be a really good night. I'm looking forward to
[52:54] that on Halloween. I think it'd be a really good
[52:55] night. But the cast for the theatre show, there's
[52:57] 20 of them, are phenomenal. They put on a really
[53:00] good show and tell the story of my house, which
[53:03] is just crazy that it got to that stage. And
[53:07] I've just signed a film deal as well, very recently.
[53:12] mega mega news so it's all a bit go at the minute
[53:16] um but yeah i love it like keeping busy how do
[53:21] you do you work full time as well so yeah it's
[53:28] i'll tell you who is we're speaking to somebody
[53:31] the other night on a podcast and we said once
[53:33] the paranormal gets you i know it's a bug in
[53:38] it as soon as it consumes it consumes everything
[53:43] It was like, my wife actually said to me when
[53:46] I started on the website, she looked at me and
[53:48] said, is this going to be like the books? Maybe,
[53:55] maybe it will, but I just like to be busy. I
[53:58] do work hard at my day job during the day, but
[54:00] then when that's finished, I've got my son to
[54:03] look after, I've got my wife here, family, friends,
[54:06] that sort of stuff. But then if I'm not doing
[54:08] anything, might as well do something productive.
[54:12] or something that I enjoy. 100%, 100%. So, putting
[54:19] aside all the books, the investigations that
[54:24] have taken place, their mediums and everything,
[54:26] anybody else has told you about the house. What
[54:29] do you think is going on there? I know there's
[54:35] something going on. I can't tell you what it
[54:37] is, Greg. There's something not... That's why
[54:41] they say it's paranormal. There's something paranormal
[54:43] about this place, not normal. whatever you want
[54:46] to call it, out of the ordinary. But there's
[54:51] definitely something going on here. I would love
[54:53] somebody to be able to give me a definitive,
[54:56] this is what's happening. Here's another first
[54:59] for you. I've got a medium called Linda Shepherd,
[55:03] who's a very well -renowned medium coming to
[55:05] the house. And she's coming around because we
[55:07] went to a medium night and she absolutely blew.
[55:10] blew my mind with some of the stuff. I've met
[55:12] a lot of mediums through the last couple of years
[55:14] through the stuff I've been doing. I've had two
[55:15] mediums in the house before. But Linda, when
[55:19] I was speaking to her, absolutely just, she had
[55:23] me in floods of tears with some of the stuff
[55:24] she came out with, with names and dates, and
[55:28] she didn't know me, and didn't know me dad. It
[55:33] was all very, either she's like Derren Brown,
[55:37] or she's got some sort of ability, is what I'll
[55:39] say to you. So she's coming to the house. I'm
[55:42] going to interview her on the podcast as well.
[55:45] We'll see how we get on with that. Amazing. Amazing.
[55:50] Nice. Yeah. I don't know. I don't know about
[55:53] what's here or not, but there's definitely something
[55:55] going on here. Unless somebody's playing an elaborate
[55:58] 21 year prank on me. That's got everybody in
[56:01] a bit like, what's the, what's the film with?
[56:06] Oh God, I can't remember what the film's called.
[56:09] Where he's living a life for all his life, you
[56:11] guys all know. Our Truman Show. Truman Show,
[56:14] that's the one I was looking for, yeah. Unless
[56:16] I'm living in the Truman Show and it's all just
[56:18] a big lie, then yeah, there's something going
[56:21] on. I'm glad you knew that because I was scratching
[56:25] a blank then. Great film actually. It's a good
[56:30] film actually. And it seems to be even more relevant
[56:33] nowadays to be fair. Yeah, plenty much so. So
[56:39] where can our listeners and our viewers find
[56:41] your book your podcast haunt see I give us Yeah,
[56:47] the books books you messed up going on Amazon
[56:49] or if you want the signed copy you can go on
[56:52] the lady in the day window calm and get in touch
[56:54] with me and I can sort you those out for if you
[56:56] want presents or anything like that and I hear
[56:59] that they make really good Christmas presents
[57:01] and So yeah, if you want to do that, that's fine.
[57:04] Audio books are both on audible The podcast is
[57:08] called Beyond the Bay Window. We only started
[57:09] that about four or five months ago, but that
[57:11] seems to be going okay. We're learning on the
[57:14] job. We're not like you guys, not been doing
[57:15] it a long time, so we're learning on the job.
[57:18] But it seems to be going okay. That's called
[57:20] Beyond the Bay Window on YouTube and Spotify.
[57:23] But it is a visual one, so if you want that,
[57:24] go on YouTube. TfAs, ladyinthebaywindow .com.

[57:31] on the 31st of October and Halifax on the 6th
[57:34] of October. And the film side of things, keep
[57:37] an eye out on the Facebook page, which is the
[57:40] Lady in the Bow window, William Seagrave, because
[57:44] they're in the development stage at the minute,
[57:46] which means the writing script and looking at
[57:49] potentially who to cast for it and stuff. But
[57:51] it's going to be a found footage film. So, yeah.
[57:56] Oh, and if you want to check that new website
[57:57] out, it's hauntseek .co .uk. That's enough plugging
[58:00] from me. That's everything. We'll pull the links
[58:05] in the notes anyway. Sorry Greg, sorry. There's
[58:08] that many things going on at the minute. I forget
[58:10] myself. No, it's all good. But I'd just like
[58:13] to say it's been an absolute pleasure. It was
[58:15] great to see you at Spook and Spirit talking.
[58:18] Great to meet you guys. It was a very popular
[58:21] store that you had. Your dad's karaoke was amazing.
[58:26] Oh, it was fantastic, wasn't it? Even better
[58:28] dressed as Robin. You was throwing the old the
[58:36] the words out on the microphone as well dressed
[58:38] as well So we had a dynamic duo that night Um,
[58:43] yeah, it's been an absolute pleasure. We'll definitely
[58:45] have to do it again And thanks for coming on
[58:48] Thank you guys Thank you
