[0:00] Speaker 01: Hey guys, it's Alix and Kayla.
[0:02] Speaker 01: And we're married, not related, definitely codependent.
[0:06] Speaker 00: But in a cute way.
[0:07] Speaker 00: And we are back.
[0:09] Speaker 00: We're back, honey.
[0:10] Speaker 00: Welcome, welcome.
[0:11] Speaker 00: So I'm just gonna cut straight to the chase because we have a lengthy outline here.
[0:17] Speaker 00: I'm not gonna say how's it going?
[0:19] Speaker 00: Would you rather?
[0:20] Speaker 00: We're not playing any games.
[0:21] Speaker 02: You get a lot to talk about.
[0:22] Speaker 00: We have a lot to talk about.
[0:24] Speaker 00: And I also just want to point out it is October at the point in which this comes out.
[0:29] Speaker 00: October is domestic violence awareness month.
[0:32] Speaker 00: And I didn't know that.
[0:35] Speaker 00: Yeah, I know.
[0:36] Speaker 00: You're like nodding along.
[0:37] Speaker 00: Like, yeah, sure.
[0:38] Speaker 00: I mean, you know, I have a history of domestic violence, and maybe we'll touch on that today, maybe another day, but I'm very aware of October.
[0:46] Speaker 00: And that's why I wanted to bump this episode up to October because Trigger Warning Up Top, it talks about domestic violence, abuse, sexual assault.
[0:57] Speaker 00: So if any of those things are not helpful for you to listen to, maybe skip this one.
[1:04] Speaker 00: We'll just say that right up top.
[1:06] Speaker 00: Do you know who we're talking about today, honey?
[1:09] Speaker 02: I do know who we're talking about.
[1:10] Speaker 02: Who are we talking about?
[1:11] Speaker 02: There's a lot of lore around this person.
[1:13] Speaker 01: A lot.
[1:14] Speaker 01: We're talking about Sedona Prince.
[1:16] Speaker 01: Okay, and what do you know about this person?
[1:20] Speaker 02: What I know about her is that she is a college basketball player who's been playing basketball for way too long at this point in college.
[1:26] Speaker 02: Like I'm in her 40s.
[1:28] Speaker 00: No, I'm just saying.
[1:29] Speaker 02: I don't even know.
[1:29] Speaker 02: She's been in college for like seven years or something.
[1:32] Speaker 02: Like, how can you even play for that long?
[1:34] Speaker 03: Mm-hmm.
[1:35] Speaker 02: And uh I know she's dated some like famous TikToker.
[1:40] Speaker 02: She's really big on TikTok.
[1:41] Speaker 02: I think she has like two million followers or something, more than two million followers.
[1:44] Speaker 02: And I've heard a little bit about some of the dramas and scandals that we're gonna talk about today.
[1:51] Speaker 00: Yeah, so I mean, that's a decent intro.
[1:54] Speaker 00: I think also the other thing that always comes to mind, it's like, okay, she's a basketball player in college, so you kind of assume that she's tall.
[2:02] Speaker 00: She's six, seven.
[2:03] Speaker 00: That is so freaking tall.
[2:06] Speaker 00: It's huge.
[2:06] Speaker 00: And the reason that this is important is going, you know, it has to do with some of the stories that we're going to tell that are not only stories that people have already shared themselves online.
[2:17] Speaker 00: Her ex-girlfriends have shared with their own mouths online.
[2:21] Speaker 00: You can go and look it up for yourself.
[2:22] Speaker 00: But there's also actually been news reports about these instances, police reports about these instances.
[2:28] Speaker 00: So we're not necessarily speculating, and we want to say that all of this is still alleged.
[2:34] Speaker 00: Nothing has ever been solved in court.
[2:37] Speaker 00: And Sedona, as well as her legal team, have always denied all of these allegations.
[2:43] Speaker 00: So also just want to point that out up top.
[2:45] Speaker 00: All right.
[2:47] Speaker 00: So, like you said, she's been playing college basketball for a long time.
[2:50] Speaker 00: Seven years, to be exact.
[2:52] Speaker 02: I was right.
[2:52] Speaker 02: Seven years.
[2:53] Speaker 02: I didn't even know you could play college basketball for that long or any college sport.
[2:57] Speaker 02: Like I thought it was you could like they call it red shirting your freshman year.
[3:01] Speaker 02: Okay.
[3:01] Speaker 02: Have you heard about that?
[3:02] Speaker 02: Do you think I know what the fuck it's like?
[3:04] Speaker 02: But it basically means like you're on the team, but it allows you to play for an extra year.
[3:08] Speaker 02: So you can play for five years total.
[3:10] Speaker 02: So I don't know how she's been playing for seven years.
[3:13] Speaker 00: Okay, this is the thing about this episode.
[3:15] Speaker 00: It's not a sports podcast.
[3:17] Speaker 00: Okay.
[3:18] Speaker 00: So I don't know any of those.
[3:20] Speaker 00: I even wrote on here, I'm like, oh, she was for the Texas Longhorns and then Oregon.
[3:23] Speaker 00: I'm like, does anyone really care about that stuff?
[3:25] Speaker 00: Maybe.
[3:26] Speaker 00: Maybe she has played.
[3:27] Speaker 00: She's played at a bunch of colleges.
[3:28] Speaker 00: At three different colleges.
[3:30] Speaker 02: All big, all big name basketball colleges.
[3:32] Speaker 00: I don't know anything about sports college that I'm I know some things about college, I guess I did go, but I don't know about like big sports teams and any of that.
[3:42] Speaker 00: And I'm assuming our listeners, I'm just gonna assume maybe they don't care about that stuff either.
[3:48] Speaker 00: So, anyways, I don't know how she was able to do it for seven years, but she did.
[3:53] Speaker 00: She has officially stopped doing college basketball because she did exhaust her NCAA, is it NCAA or NCAA?
[4:02] Speaker 00: It's double A, right?
[4:04] Speaker 00: Okay.
[4:05] Speaker 00: So she exhausted that eligibility this year and was not drafted.
[4:10] Speaker 00: And a big reason, at least that it's speculated that she wasn't drafted, because okay, again, this is not a sports podcast.
[4:19] Speaker 00: So I'm just, I know people will be like, you didn't get these facts right.
[4:21] Speaker 00: All I'll say is that I know her stats are good.
[4:24] Speaker 00: Okay.
[4:25] Speaker 00: Because this was something you said before.
[4:27] Speaker 00: You're like, if she's 6'7.
[4:28] Speaker 00: I'm just saying, yeah, if you're 6'7 and you haven't been drafted.
[4:31] Speaker 02: And you haven't been drafted to the WNBA and you're playing for a good college basketball team, something is going on because there are not that many women who are that tall in the WNBA.
[4:41] Speaker 02: So there's no reason why she shouldn't be in the WNBA if she's a good basketball player.
[4:46] Speaker 00: So she uh supposedly is a good basketball player, has good stats.
[4:51] Speaker 00: She's had a few injuries, so that set her out for I don't know if it was seasons at a time or like long periods of time.
[4:56] Speaker 00: So the articles that I read said that, you know, it's speculated that she was not picked for the WMBA because of her age, because of how long she was in college, because of her history of injuries, and then also because of all of this that we're going to talk about today, which is her personal life.
[5:11] Speaker 02: The personal drama.
[5:13] Speaker 00: It's not just drama, it's like she's a liability.
[5:15] Speaker 00: Yeah.
[5:16] Speaker 00: There's so many allegations against her at this point.
[5:18] Speaker 00: And it's like, that's not good PR for whatever team takes you on.
[5:22] Speaker 00: Because as we all know, if you've watched the Dallas Cowboys cheerleader doc, this is not just a sports team, this is a brand.
[5:30] Speaker 00: You know, this is a full institution.
[5:32] Speaker 00: So it's like people that they take on.
[5:34] Speaker 00: And obviously, we're not talking about cheerleading, but it's the same for all sports.
[5:38] Speaker 00: It's like you're joining kind of a company, and it's like you have to represent that company.
[5:42] Speaker 02: She's no Caitlin Clark, she's not an angel, you know.
[5:45] Speaker 00: Yeah, she's no angel either, sweetheart.
[5:48] Speaker 00: Who's that?
[5:49] Speaker 02: I don't know.
[5:49] Speaker 00: Jax Taylor.
[5:50] Speaker 00: Come on.
[5:51] Speaker 00: Okay.
[5:52] unknown: Okay.
[5:53] Speaker 00: So, so yeah, she is currently undrafted, and right now she's playing overseas for the Women's Lebanese League.
[6:00] Speaker 00: So that's where she's.
[6:00] Speaker 00: So she's still playing.
[6:01] Speaker 00: She went to play pro basketball, but overseas, yeah.
[6:04] Speaker 00: But she didn't get drafted into the WMBA.
[6:07] Speaker 00: Okay, so let's talk a little bit about kind of like how she even came on the scene.
[6:12] Speaker 00: She started playing basketball in 2018, but she started growing into more of a kind of like a public figure beyond basketball via TikTok in 2021.
[6:24] Speaker 00: So actually, I didn't know this about her because I only learned about her last year when Liv shared her story time, which we're going to get into, of course.
[6:33] Speaker 00: Um, but this is, I thought it was really interesting.
[6:36] Speaker 00: What she originally gained a huge following from was actually something really positive.
[6:42] Speaker 00: So she was playing a tournament somewhere and she had filmed the locker room of the men's and the women's and showed the difference.
[6:50] Speaker 00: The men's locker room was like kitted out.
[6:52] Speaker 00: It always is.
[6:53] Speaker 00: And the women's was like really sad looking.
[6:56] Speaker 00: And she, you know, just like called out the institution and was like, this is super messed up.
[7:00] Speaker 00: Her TikTok went mega viral.
[7:03] Speaker 00: And so she really started by talking about gender equality in sports.
[7:07] Speaker 00: Like that's what she rose to fame for, which is obviously super positive.
[7:11] Speaker 00: We love that.
[7:12] Speaker 02: Yeah.
[7:12] Speaker 02: All the men seem to get like the nicest gear, the coolest locker rooms.
[7:16] Speaker 02: Like they just get everything and the women get nothing.
[7:18] Speaker 00: And not only that, the NCAA ended up changing the weight rooms because of it.
[7:24] Speaker 02: Wow.
[7:25] Speaker 00: And like there was actually progress made from this viral TikTok moment.
[7:30] Speaker 00: And up until that point, she would post just kind of like a regular, you know, college person using TikTok, some funny stuff, a big emphasis on like how tall she was, going through different doorways and basketball and everything.
[7:42] Speaker 00: But from that point on, she really started focusing more on like gender equality in sports.
[7:47] Speaker 00: So, you know, I don't love giving flowers to this person, but we'll give them where they're due.
[7:54] Speaker 00: That was a good start.
[7:55] Speaker 00: And that's probably the only positive thing you'll hear about her from this point onward.
[8:00] Speaker 00: Oh no.
[8:00] Speaker 00: Okay.
[8:01] Speaker 00: Okay, so that was in 2021.
[8:03] Speaker 00: That's when she really blew up.
[8:04] Speaker 00: And then she started dating a girl named Riley.
[8:08] Speaker 00: Do you know anything about this relationship?
[8:10] Speaker 02: I don't know anything about Riley.
[8:12] Speaker 00: Okay.
[8:12] Speaker 02: She's a TikToker.
[8:14] Speaker 00: Uh, well, I mean, yeah, all of these people are young, so they're on TikTok.
[8:18] Speaker 00: I don't know if she identifies.
[8:21] Speaker 00: I sound so serious to say, do you identify as a TikTok?
[8:24] Speaker 00: I don't know if she identifies.
[8:26] Speaker 01: I do not identify as a TikToker.
[8:28] Speaker 00: You have exactly zero posts and two followers, me and this podcast page.
[8:35] Speaker 00: Um, so I don't know if she identifies as a TikToker, but she posts on TikTok and they did start making couples content together.
[8:43] Speaker 00: So, you know, Riley is a super cute girl.
[8:47] Speaker 00: Anyone in comparison to a six, seven person, man or woman, is probably gonna look pretty small.
[8:53] Speaker 00: I don't know exactly how tall Riley was, but she was, you know, probably my size, five, three.
[8:59] Speaker 00: Yeah.
[8:59] Speaker 00: You know, petite, very petite.
[9:01] Speaker 00: And so they did a lot of couples videos.
[9:03] Speaker 00: Some of them were kind of funny that way, where it's again, look at how tall she is and how short I am, and just kind of like silly, goofy, whatever.
[9:10] Speaker 02: Um, but also seems like her height like really boosts your ego on TikTok for whatever reason.
[9:15] Speaker 02: She really focuses on it.
[9:17] Speaker 00: I mean, how can you not?
[9:19] Speaker 00: This is this is something I will say though, is like, regardless of let's just assume that all of these allegations about her hadn't happened.
[9:27] Speaker 00: And let's say someone is super tall or just has some sort of characteristic that makes them stand out that is unusual, and maybe even more so for your gender, then it is kind of this like, I'm gonna take that back and and make this sure, you know what I mean?
[9:41] Speaker 00: Instead of like, she probably got teased for it.
[9:43] Speaker 01: I mean, the fact that it's like she's also a basketball player, it's like she's using it to her advantage.
[9:47] Speaker 01: Exactly.
[9:48] Speaker 00: Yeah.
[9:48] Speaker 00: So I'm like, I mean, I get it.
[9:50] Speaker 00: If I was six, seven, I'd be all over those doorways, which is honey.
[9:57] Speaker 01: All over those doorways.
[9:58] Speaker 00: I'd be making talk TikToks about going through doorways left and right.
[10:03] Speaker 00: Um, I mean, I'm just saying, there's there's much bigger fish to fry when it comes to kind of criticizing her behavior.
[10:10] Speaker 00: So this is according to them that we sort of found out after their breakup.
[10:16] Speaker 00: But when they were together, Riley had an emotional affair with somebody who Sedona had been worried about um for a while.
[10:24] Speaker 00: Sedona forgave her, they stayed together, but before that, Sedona had cheated twice on Riley, and Riley forgave her.
[10:32] Speaker 00: So, I mean, we kind of talked about this in our Shannon Beverage episode.
[10:36] Speaker 00: They're super young, right?
[10:37] Speaker 00: They're like in their early 20s.
[10:39] Speaker 00: Yeah, college.
[10:40] Speaker 00: So, I mean, college for Sedona doesn't mean anything.
[10:43] Speaker 00: She's like 30.
[10:44] Speaker 00: But but still, we talked about this in all of our other lore episodes, and I'm sure it will come up again where it's like young people doing dumb shit.
[10:54] Speaker 00: I'm just I mean, we all did these types of things in college.
[10:57] Speaker 00: We all did these things, and we are just I am so grateful that we are too old for that to be documented online.
[11:05] Speaker 00: Thank God.
[11:07] Speaker 00: You know?
[11:07] Speaker 00: Yes.
[11:08] Speaker 00: For you, I know you wouldn't have documented it, but the girls the trail of broken hearts you left behind, honey.
[11:16] Speaker 02: I don't know about this, but I know.
[11:19] Speaker 02: I'm just really happy that I we didn't have this level of social media back in 2009.
[11:25] Speaker 02: It would have been bad.
[11:27] Speaker 00: Yeah.
[11:27] Speaker 00: So they dated, they moved in together, they were together for I don't know if it was a year, year and a half, somewhere around there, and made couples content.
[11:39] Speaker 00: People liked them and everything.
[11:41] Speaker 00: And guess what they did when they broke up?
[11:43] Speaker 01: Did they make a breakup video?
[11:45] Speaker 00: You know it.
[11:46] Speaker 00: They took after the Shannon Bevy of the world.
[11:49] Speaker 00: Shannon just paved the way for the rest of the queers to follow.
[11:53] Speaker 01: Yeah, you know, I'll have to make breakup videos forever.
[11:57] Speaker 00: Again, I'm sure this will also be a common theme in all of our lore episodes because while Jojo and her girlfriends didn't make them together, they made them separately.
[12:06] Speaker 00: They go, they go on the podcast tour of explaining their breakup and then making the long TikTok, you know, all the series.
[12:13] Speaker 00: So this is this is gonna be a common theme.
[12:16] Speaker 00: But they made a breakup video together.
[12:18] Speaker 02: And did it go viral?
[12:20] Speaker 00: I don't know if it went viral, but they they both already had very large accounts.
[12:24] Speaker 00: I don't know exactly how big Sedona's was at this time, but I know at her peak it was over three million.
[12:30] Speaker 00: Whoa.
[12:30] Speaker 00: So while she's over two million now, she's actually lost at least a million followers.
[12:35] Speaker 00: So probably back then she was she was in the million.
[12:38] Speaker 00: So I'm sure it got a lot of traction.
[12:41] Speaker 00: And in the video, similar to Cami and Shannon, you know, it was very this is mutual, no hard feelings, just very PR, very amicable.
[12:50] Speaker 00: And everyone's like, okay.
[12:54] Speaker 02: Can we believe it?
[12:55] Speaker 02: Was it amicable?
[12:56] Speaker 02: I don't think so.
[12:57] Speaker 00: I mean, now, now we know a lot more.
[13:01] Speaker 00: So it seemed like, okay, this is sad, they're over, but they're also young, it's fine.
[13:07] Speaker 00: And then almost immediately, then they start going into the social media battles, posting on Snapchats, posting on Twitters, posting on the stories, you know, talking about this person's toxic.
[13:19] Speaker 00: No, this person's toxic, starting to share different screenshots of like the Mormon wives.
[13:24] Speaker 02: It's like Mormon wives before Mormon wives existed.
[13:27] Speaker 00: Yeah.
[13:27] Speaker 00: Oh my god, I love it.
[13:28] Speaker 00: Toxic battles.
[13:30] Speaker 00: I love it.
[13:30] Speaker 00: And it so just going on and on in all of the, you know, and they'll and then they'll like delete it, but the internet's already screenshotted it and then sharing it, and then they're making their videos about it.
[13:40] Speaker 00: So one of the things that Sedona said on her Snapchat was that she was saying that she spoiled her ex too much, and she spent so much money on her.
[13:49] Speaker 00: And, you know, because she's so successful and this, you know, huge, important public figure.
[13:55] Speaker 00: I rolled.
[13:56] Speaker 02: I mean, you play public, you play college basketball.
[13:58] Speaker 02: You're not earning any money.
[14:00] Speaker 02: She makes a lot of money from brand deals.
[14:02] Speaker 00: She was a you know, full-on influencer at this point.
[14:05] Speaker 00: I think that gave her a lot more fame than basketball.
[14:08] Speaker 00: Okay, would be my guess.
[14:09] Speaker 00: Um, but so this was something that she kind of harped on a lot.
[14:13] Speaker 00: And money is something that you'll see that she uses as a control mechanism.
[14:17] Speaker 00: Yeah, big time.
[14:18] Speaker 00: So classic.
[14:19] Speaker 00: So classic.
[14:20] Speaker 00: So she was saying, like, I just spent so much money on her and she mistreated me.
[14:25] Speaker 00: Which is actually now that I'm thinking about it, my abusive ex.
[14:28] Speaker 00: Also, money was such a thing.
[14:31] Speaker 03: Yeah.
[14:31] Speaker 00: Where it was always this trigger of like, oh, I don't want to pay for this for you, or like, well, I paid for that for you.
[14:36] Speaker 00: So now you owe me this.
[14:37] Speaker 00: And it is, like you said, a classic control tactic.
[14:40] Speaker 02: I hate when people hold money over your head after the fact.
[14:44] Speaker 00: Oh, so icky.
[14:45] Speaker 02: You know, like if your parents do that to you or something, but it's like even worse if it's like a person that you're in a relationship with.
[14:51] Speaker 00: I feel like it's almost worse when your parents do it because it's like they should know better.
[14:55] Speaker 00: They should know better.
[14:56] Speaker 00: But yeah, it's just all it's a very, very bad, toxic situation.
[15:01] Speaker 00: So in this time, Sedona also came out and said that she had BPD, borderline personality disorder.
[15:09] Speaker 00: She said that she had BPD.
[15:11] Speaker 00: She said it about herself.
[15:12] Speaker 00: Okay.
[15:13] Speaker 00: What do you know about BPD?
[15:16] Speaker 02: Well, I know, I don't know if I can like define it exactly, but I had a girlfriend who had BPD, and uh it was an extremely challenging relationship because of it, and resulted in like some domestic violence, uh, Mia and the receiving end.
[15:33] Speaker 02: And also I know these folks struggle with addiction, you know, uh a lot of different challenges, but I don't know if I can like define it perfectly.
[15:42] Speaker 00: Yeah, I don't have the definition written written down here either, but same thing.
[15:46] Speaker 00: I've never, to my knowledge, dated with anyone with BPD, but have experienced multiple people in my life who have it.
[15:53] Speaker 00: And like any sort of mental illness, there's a huge spectrum, you know.
[15:56] Speaker 00: So there's people who can function and be in healthy relationships and have the tools to manage it.
[16:02] Speaker 00: But like you said, usually it overlaps with a lot of other issues, whether it's addiction, narcissism, pathological lying, you know, these other things come into play or can really heighten it.
[16:14] Speaker 02: Emotional and physical abuse for sure.
[16:15] Speaker 00: Yeah, yeah.
[16:16] Speaker 00: So she said that she also accused Riley of domestic abuse.
[16:21] Speaker 00: So Sedona accused Riley of domestic abuse, and Riley denied it.
[16:26] Speaker 00: She's like, I'm I cannot hurt you if I tried.
[16:31] Speaker 00: Granted, I will say, you can you can hurt someone even if you are smaller than them, obviously.
[16:36] Speaker 00: Um Riley also went on to say that there was a lot of love bombing, that she was really, you know, treated like she was special and not just her, but also her whole family.
[16:48] Speaker 00: And then she said once that Sedona kind of had her, then Sedona's true colors came out and it made Riley feel sort of crazy and like she was stuck.
[16:59] Speaker 00: So yeah, again, this is a common theme that you'll see come up almost right away after breaking up with Riley.
[17:08] Speaker 00: She steps out with Liv.
[17:11] Speaker 00: Sedona shows up.
[17:12] Speaker 00: I don't know if the first time they were seen together was on a red carpet, like, or if it was something more subtle.
[17:17] Speaker 02: Did Riley ever accuse Sedona of anything?
[17:20] Speaker 00: We'll get to that.
[17:21] Speaker 00: This actually happens right when her and Liv start dating.
[17:24] Speaker 02: Yeah.
[17:24] Speaker 02: So then she feels compelled to say something.
[17:27] Speaker 00: Yeah.
[17:27] Speaker 00: Okay.
[17:28] Speaker 00: So I know that you know a little bit about Liv because you did you ever listen to the story times that she did last summer?
[17:34] Speaker 00: Yeah, yeah.
[17:35] Speaker 02: Or did I just tell you told me about it and then you made me listen to a 10-part series?
[17:40] Speaker 00: But that was last year, so immediately.
[17:42] Speaker 02: I just remember she was like this tiny cute girl.
[17:45] Speaker 00: That's your takeaway?
[17:46] Speaker 02: She's like teeny tiny and super cute.
[17:49] Speaker 00: Okay.
[17:49] Speaker 00: Yes, those things are true.
[17:51] Speaker 00: So they started dating in 2023.
[17:53] Speaker 00: They just met at a bar through mutual friends and hit it off.
[17:58] Speaker 00: So on the same day that Sedona posted Live for the first time, Riley posted all of these messages between her and Sedona.
[18:07] Speaker 00: Oh.
[18:07] Speaker 00: Airing out the hardships of their relationship.
[18:10] Speaker 00: And then also this really disturbing video of Sedona.
[18:14] Speaker 00: I showed this to you last year.
[18:16] Speaker 00: I don't know if you'll remember.
[18:17] Speaker 00: She was like bloody.
[18:18] Speaker 00: She had blood all over her face, and she was like in the bathroom and she was it kind of is having a sort of anxiety or panic attack.
[18:26] Speaker 00: But you could tell by the look in her eyes, by her mannerisms, you either think, is she really messed up on something?
[18:32] Speaker 00: Like something was not right.
[18:34] Speaker 02: Yeah.
[18:34] Speaker 02: Or she's having like a manic episode or something.
[18:37] Speaker 02: Yeah.
[18:38] Speaker 00: Yeah.
[18:38] Speaker 00: Something was going on.
[18:39] Speaker 00: And it wasn't totally clear what this video was about because she was the one who was bloody.
[18:45] Speaker 00: You know, it wasn't, she didn't, Riley didn't post a photo of her bloody and say, Oh, she did this to me.
[18:50] Speaker 00: It was it, and again, it immediately got taken down.
[18:54] Speaker 00: But this video, you can still find it online if you want to search for it.
[18:58] Speaker 00: So Sedona posted a response.
[19:01] Speaker 00: At first, she waited a few days and then finally posted something saying, you know, how she's so sad that the beauty of their love had to be overshadowed by a few hard times.
[19:12] Speaker 00: And like very again, she's on her PR press too.
[19:15] Speaker 00: PR answer, just like you know, I have nothing negative to say about this person.
[19:20] Speaker 00: And we had this beautiful loving relationship, and all relationships have hard times.
[19:25] Speaker 00: And I hate that, you know, the the whole of our relationship has to be overshadowed by these few hardships.
[19:31] Speaker 02: Okay.
[19:32] Speaker 00: So very manipulative.
[19:33] Speaker 00: And, you know, there's obviously some truth in that, which is, I feel like how manipulation works.
[19:40] Speaker 00: There has to be some truth in it in order for you to kind of wonder, wait, is that true?
[19:45] Speaker 00: You know, because yeah, all relationships have ups and downs, and of course, the whole of the relationship shouldn't be defined by singular moments.
[19:53] Speaker 00: But I do think those kind of generalized rules can be overrode if we're talking about abuse.
[19:59] Speaker 00: It's like you could have loving moments in a relationship, but if the relationship was abusive, then you can categorize that relationship as abusive instead of like, well, it was loving.
[20:09] Speaker 02: But what did Riley say?
[20:10] Speaker 02: I don't understand.
[20:11] Speaker 00: So she released some text messages and there's some weird things in there, but yeah, so she was releasing messages between them and um so okay, so Sedona had claimed that Riley had harassed Sedona's family and friends after they broke up.
[20:26] Speaker 00: Okay.
[20:26] Speaker 00: She claimed that Riley was trying to convince Liv to break up with her, and she said that Riley got the internet to send a lot of hate to Liv.
[20:35] Speaker 00: So she also posted this letter that Riley wrote to her after they broke up.
[20:42] Speaker 00: And it seemed kind of like it was like a love letter of making it seem like she didn't want to break up.
[20:48] Speaker 00: And so she's like, How could I have been so bad if you were like begging to get back together with me?
[20:54] Speaker 02: I love when abusers say that.
[20:57] Speaker 00: And so Riley responds and says she didn't harass anyone in the family.
[21:01] Speaker 00: She only reached out to her parents once because Sedona was threatening to take her own life and she was worried about her, obviously.
[21:10] Speaker 00: Like that's the responsible thing to do.
[21:13] Speaker 00: Um, she said she didn't reach out to Liv, to Olivia, she didn't tell them to end it.
[21:18] Speaker 00: And she said that she aired out all of their messages because Sedona wouldn't leave her alone and was antagonizing her.
[21:25] Speaker 00: And this is obviously on the back end.
[21:27] Speaker 00: Publicly, she's with Liv.
[21:29] Speaker 00: Look at my new cute girlfriend.
[21:31] Speaker 00: We're so happy.
[21:32] Speaker 00: But on the back end, she was sending these messages.
[21:35] Speaker 00: And I think that's what she was exposing was like I see.
[21:37] Speaker 00: Like she's still being harassed by her.
[21:39] Speaker 00: I'm still being antagonized by this person.
[21:41] Speaker 00: And then that was also when she had kind of showcased more of the love bombing and like, look at these dynamics, look at the way that she's talking to me, look at the, you know.
[21:51] Speaker 02: She probably felt like in this position where I think a lot of people feel is you start to feel crazy and like question yourself.
[22:00] Speaker 02: And so you then want to go to the internet to prove, like, no, this is what's happening in the relationship.
[22:06] Speaker 02: This is how toxic it is.
[22:08] Speaker 02: Look at the things that she was doing to me.
[22:10] Speaker 02: And now, like, I'm still dealing with this, and she's in a full-on new relationship, and she's still not leaving me alone.
[22:16] Speaker 00: Yeah.
[22:17] Speaker 00: And I mean, I don't know if Riley feels this way.
[22:22] Speaker 00: I can only come go from my own experience, but you know how much I love evidence personally.
[22:28] Speaker 00: Right.
[22:29] Speaker 00: It's like you're a lawyer.
[22:30] Speaker 00: It's like no, it's like a compulsion that I have because I want to feel believed.
[22:36] Speaker 00: Yeah, it's like I have this trauma of an abusive past, and then that going to court, him being not guilty, but this feeling of like I no one believes me.
[22:48] Speaker 02: And in some ways, even though there's all this evidence, all this evidence.
[22:52] Speaker 02: There's no reason why he should be found not guilty.
[22:55] Speaker 00: So I don't know if that was part of it too, of like, no, this is like you said, it makes you feel crazy because you do start questioning, even though this happened to you, and your mind remembers and your body remembers if it was physical with Riley, it's not 100% clear.
[23:09] Speaker 00: It's like you have this memory on all of these levels, but you still need this black and white text saying, like, sorry, I hit you last night.
[23:16] Speaker 00: And I'm not saying that's what theirs said, but I'm saying in my situation, where it was like in writing, and I still needed to convince myself it was true because I was so convinced I'm the problem.
[23:28] Speaker 00: Like I'm I'm crazy.
[23:29] Speaker 00: Maybe I misremembered it.
[23:30] Speaker 00: Maybe I was too drunk, maybe I was too annoying, you know?
[23:34] Speaker 02: Yeah.
[23:34] Speaker 02: Also, if you're in a relationship with somebody like this, you know how they can take things and spin it.
[23:40] Speaker 02: Like, for example, the person that I was in a relationship with, once things did turn abusive, it was the last night of our relationship.
[23:48] Speaker 02: And I remember like she had come home drunk, super angry, really upset, and kind of like broke into the room that like the bedroom that I was in, and like started to hit me, sort of to like sit on.
[24:00] Speaker 02: Yeah, attack me.
[24:02] Speaker 02: I'm under the covers.
[24:03] Speaker 02: I can't move.
[24:03] Speaker 02: She's attacking me.
[24:05] Speaker 02: And I literally had to like try to push her off of me.
[24:08] Speaker 02: And she fell off the bed, and I just like left the house, grabbed the car keys and left, never came home.
[24:13] Speaker 02: And I knew that she was gonna tell everyone that I hit her, I hurt her.
[24:18] Speaker 02: And so it was like the first thing is you kind of like feel like you have to defend yourself, even though you're the victim.
[24:23] Speaker 00: Yeah.
[24:24] Speaker 02: And so I imagine that this girl is feeling that way.
[24:27] Speaker 00: Yeah, exactly.
[24:28] Speaker 00: And even more, it's like I and same with you, we only had it in such a small scale with our social group of maybe 20 people or you know, however many people were in your kind of friend group at that time.
[24:40] Speaker 00: But imagine that on a scale of hundreds of thousands of people weighing in millions and calling you a liar and all of you know, it's like you're going to want to be heard and to prove yourself correct.
[24:53] Speaker 00: So another thing that Riley said, she said that she felt like she was used as a TikTok prop for content.
[25:00] Speaker 00: Because don't you laugh like I do that to you?
[25:04] Speaker 00: I know exactly what you're thinking.
[25:06] Speaker 00: Get out of here.
[25:08] Speaker 00: This is you don't even want to be sitting here.
[25:11] Speaker 00: This is just like an AI version of Alex.
[25:13] Speaker 00: So, um, and she said that Sedona would get really mad if Riley didn't want to do brand deals together.
[25:20] Speaker 00: And that's why it was kind of when you said, is she a TikToker?
[25:24] Speaker 00: And I was like, Oh, I know this is almost like a trigger for her to even call herself a TikToker.
[25:29] Speaker 00: So that's why I didn't know how to answer.
[25:31] Speaker 00: Because she was like, I didn't actually really have a huge interest in content.
[25:35] Speaker 00: It naturally grew, you know, as a byproduct of being with Sedona, and Sedona was like really pressuring her.
[25:42] Speaker 00: So this was also very different than Sedona being like, oh, she was kind of using me for attention and cloud and money.
[25:49] Speaker 00: And she's like, I don't actually want to be here at all.
[25:52] Speaker 00: So Riley said that she has chronological proof leading up to that bloody video.
[25:57] Speaker 00: Um that this this note doesn't make sense.
[26:02] Speaker 00: That is allegedly because oh, she was saying that that that bloody video happened because Riley told Sedona that she wanted to break up and also didn't want to stay friends with her after, like wanted full no contact.
[26:15] Speaker 00: And she said that Sedona had a really intense panic attack.
[26:19] Speaker 00: Maybe it was some other kind of, you know, I don't know if there were any substances involved or if it was like a manic episode or exactly what it was.
[26:27] Speaker 00: Um, and she hurt herself somehow, and that's why it was like that.
[26:31] Speaker 00: And she had said, I want you to see me like this.
[26:34] Speaker 00: So it was like very dark, very sad.
[26:37] Speaker 00: It's very disturbing, you know.
[26:38] Speaker 00: Obviously, this person is mentally ill, and that is really sad, you know, that is super sad.
[26:45] Speaker 00: And there's plenty of people who are mentally ill who don't hurt people, you know, so it's not an excuse, it could be part of the reason why, but it's not an excuse to behave that way.
[26:55] Speaker 02: And Riley reached out to Sedona's parents to let them know like that this was happening because right?
[27:01] Speaker 02: Is that what you said?
[27:02] Speaker 00: Yeah, yeah.
[27:03] Speaker 02: Which I hope, you know, who knows what happened, but I hope, like, first of all, that is kindness to like tell her parents and hopefully because she's they're helping her.
[27:14] Speaker 02: Loved her.
[27:15] Speaker 00: You know, I think that was real.
[27:16] Speaker 00: It's like you love and care about this person, and that's such a complicated feeling to have where you're like, I love this person, and also I love myself more, so I'm going to leave and I'm going to protect myself.
[27:29] Speaker 00: This is unhealthy, this is unsafe.
[27:31] Speaker 00: So it's a really and to be that younger.
[27:33] Speaker 02: But also, I don't want this person to hurt themselves or other people.
[27:37] Speaker 00: Of course.
[27:38] Speaker 00: And that's a lot to navigate at any age, but especially that young, you know.
[27:43] Speaker 00: So yeah, it was messy online and and got a little bit drama online, but for the most part, it's like, I think she actually handled it well by getting out, talking to the parents, kind of covering the bases.
[27:55] Speaker 00: So at this point, she's with Liv.
[27:57] Speaker 00: That's kind of like how her relationship with Liv starts, is really all of this resurgence of stuff with Riley.
[28:04] Speaker 00: So a lot of people were warning Liv about Sedona.
[28:08] Speaker 00: And of course, I you cannot blame somebody for this.
[28:12] Speaker 00: She ignored them.
[28:13] Speaker 00: You know, whether she was already in love with her or what it was, even if it was just deep feelings, or you could think, well, that's not gonna happen to me.
[28:21] Speaker 00: Or maybe, you know, she didn't know better.
[28:22] Speaker 00: She was younger.
[28:24] Speaker 00: Maybe who knows what Sedona's told her about Riley.
[28:27] Speaker 00: I'm sure she was like, Yeah, like that goes crazy.
[28:30] Speaker 02: So many millions of followers, like people just want to take me down, you know, like they're just just lies.
[28:34] Speaker 02: I'm sure there was a lot of that happening.
[28:37] Speaker 00: That does happen as well.
[28:39] Speaker 00: Um, Liv had a larger following at this point, so I don't know if that would kind of work on her, that kind of asserting control.
[28:47] Speaker 00: But that does come up a lot where it's just like, oh, it's just because I'm so important and everyone wants a piece of the pie kind of thing.
[28:54] Speaker 00: But I don't know.
[28:56] Speaker 00: I just think it's important to say that because once Liv comes out with her story, which we're going to get into in depth, that was the 10-part series.
[29:05] Speaker 00: A lot of people were like, Told ya, what'd you expect?
[29:10] Speaker 02: You know, so there's like no empathy or sympathy allowed for Liv.
[29:15] Speaker 00: There's no, there was a ton, an outpouring of also empathy and sympathy, but there was also a lot of victim blaming where it's like, What did you expect?
[29:24] Speaker 00: And yes, I know.
[29:26] Speaker 00: Okay, our dog just parted and it smells really bad.
[29:30] Speaker 00: Honey.
[29:31] Speaker 00: Sorry.
[29:32] Speaker 00: She has an upset tummy.
[29:35] Speaker 00: Okay.
[29:36] Speaker 00: Oh god, it is really bad.
[29:37] Speaker 00: Oh baby.
[29:39] Speaker 00: I'm sorry.
[29:41] Speaker 00: Um, so so yeah, it's just it's important, I think, to say that because this idea comes up a lot in domestic violence specifically, where it's like you have to be the perfect victim in order to garner sympathy.
[29:57] Speaker 02: And that is basically otherwise, it's like, what did you do?
[29:59] Speaker 02: To make this situation happen.
[30:02] Speaker 00: It's very aligned with how short was your skirt, with rape culture.
[30:06] Speaker 00: You know, it's like you can't.
[30:07] Speaker 02: It doesn't matter what I see to you, what I do to you, doesn't matter.
[30:10] Speaker 02: You don't get to hit me.
[30:13] Speaker 00: I can have sex with your best friend right in front of you and force you to watch, and you cannot punch me in the face.
[30:18] Speaker 00: Those two things don't go.
[30:20] Speaker 00: It doesn't matter.
[30:21] Speaker 00: It does not matter.
[30:22] Speaker 00: Obviously, don't do that because that's not cool.
[30:25] Speaker 00: But you know what I mean?
[30:26] Speaker 00: It's like people really want someone to be the perfect victim in order for them to feel bad for them.
[30:32] Speaker 02: Yeah.
[30:33] Speaker 02: And otherwise you're justified in your violence.
[30:36] Speaker 00: Exactly.
[30:36] Speaker 00: It's like, well, everybody plays a part in it.
[30:39] Speaker 00: No.
[30:40] Speaker 00: No.
[30:40] Speaker 00: No.
[30:41] Speaker 00: That's just a no.
[30:42] Speaker 00: So a lot of people were warning her, but she ignored it and they kind of went the same route.
[30:49] Speaker 00: Lots of cute, everyday couples content on both of their channels.
[30:53] Speaker 00: I'm sure that Sedona was probably stoked because Liz Liv does identify as a TikToker.
[30:59] Speaker 00: Okay.
[31:00] Speaker 00: So she is an influencer.
[31:01] Speaker 00: She's she was very into the content.
[31:03] Speaker 00: The content.
[31:05] Speaker 00: And I bet Sedona liked that.
[31:06] Speaker 00: So what do you remember about Liv's story time?
[31:13] Speaker 00: Just that she's cute and small.
[31:15] Speaker 02: That's they I know they like went on a trip and something really bad happened.
[31:19] Speaker 00: Okay, so she called her story time who the fuck did I take to Mexico?
[31:25] Speaker 00: Okay.
[31:26] Speaker 00: Yes, it is a 10-part story time.
[31:29] Speaker 00: And one thing that I'll say too is after Liv shared her story, a lot of people were pressuring Riley to tell hers.
[31:37] Speaker 00: And she was kind of like, I tracked, because when Riley shared all of this stuff, the internet really came for her.
[31:43] Speaker 00: Like, you're a liar, you're a clout chaser.
[31:45] Speaker 00: It wasn't a lot of people believing her.
[31:47] Speaker 00: People were pretty team Sedona when Riley did try to share.
[31:52] Speaker 00: So she was like, I've already tried to share.
[31:54] Speaker 00: I've already tried to do the right thing in that sense.
[31:57] Speaker 00: And everybody just doubted me and came for me.
[32:00] Speaker 00: And again, imagine that feeling on that scale.
[32:04] Speaker 00: You already have a hard time believing yourself because you've been gaslit so intensely, and now you feel like no one believes you.
[32:11] Speaker 00: Why would you want to do that again?
[32:13] Speaker 00: No, I get it.
[32:14] Speaker 00: But when Liv did come out with her story, a lot of people were like, oh, there's a lot of similarities here to what Riley was saying.
[32:21] Speaker 00: And like you kind of can't ignore it now.
[32:23] Speaker 00: So I don't know if it was because Riley had said it first and there was a second person saying it.
[32:30] Speaker 00: So now people believed it.
[32:31] Speaker 00: I don't know if it's because Liv had more influence or like ability or what it was, but this story went mega viral, like beyond TikTok.
[32:41] Speaker 00: So not just, you know, news people are reporting on it.
[32:44] Speaker 00: Somebody made a contract for Sedona to be removed from the TCU team.
[32:49] Speaker 00: 200,000 people signed it.
[32:52] Speaker 00: This went-oh my God, 200 people, that 200,000 people asked to have her removed from the team.
[32:58] Speaker 00: Yes.
[32:58] Speaker 00: So for a petition, somebody made a petition.
[33:02] Speaker 00: So this went mega, mega viral.
[33:04] Speaker 00: Not just like in the lesbian circuit of TikTok drama.
[33:07] Speaker 00: This was huge.
[33:08] Speaker 00: And there was also this was confirmation of physical abuse that she documented and shared on TikTok.
[33:15] Speaker 00: So it was 10 parts collectively, tens of millions of views.
[33:20] Speaker 00: It's still there.
[33:21] Speaker 00: You can search for it and watch it yourself.
[33:23] Speaker 00: But I am going to give you the synopsis of all the things.
[33:27] Speaker 00: So she starts by saying they were going to Mexico to Tulum for Sedona's birthday, because Sedona was saying that she didn't plan enough dates for her and she didn't feel super special and was like already had been kind of laying that trip on.
[33:41] Speaker 00: So Liv is like, okay, I need to be a better girlfriend.
[33:44] Speaker 00: I'm going to take you to Mexico.
[33:45] Speaker 00: We're going to do this, you know, amazing, give you the best birthday ever.
[33:49] Speaker 02: She said couple's getaway.
[33:50] Speaker 02: Okay.
[33:51] Speaker 00: Yeah.
[33:51] Speaker 00: And these are her words.
[33:53] Speaker 00: She said that she started that morning that they got on their flight already scared because she's not good in the mornings.
[33:59] Speaker 00: She meaning Sedona.
[34:01] Speaker 00: So that those were Liv's words saying she, I'm scared because she's not good in the mornings.
[34:05] Speaker 00: So these are already red flags.
[34:07] Speaker 00: You're like, if you're feeling scared waking up because someone, it's that's not just like, oh, they're kind of grumpy.
[34:13] Speaker 00: It's like you were scared of them.
[34:14] Speaker 00: Huge red flag.
[34:16] Speaker 00: So they get on the flight, or first she says, I tried to stay out of her way and not step on her toes the whole morning before the flight.
[34:24] Speaker 00: Again, huge red flag.
[34:26] Speaker 02: Somebody can She's already like adapting her behaviors to try not to like set off this person.
[34:31] Speaker 00: So and I would say, even at the time that she's telling the story, you can tell that she hasn't even processed that that is not normal to do.
[34:38] Speaker 00: Right.
[34:39] Speaker 00: That that's a red flag in and of itself.
[34:41] Speaker 00: So she said that on the flight, Liv accidentally spilled some of her beer on Sedona's leg.
[34:49] Speaker 00: And so Sedona punished her essentially and got up.
[34:54] Speaker 00: They were sitting next to each other, went and moved into another seat for the rest of the flight, wouldn't sit next to her.
[35:00] Speaker 00: That's kind of an aggressive.
[35:03] Speaker 00: Kind of, kind of.
[35:05] Speaker 00: I mean, that's you know, so then Liv just cried for the rest of the flight until she fell asleep.
[35:11] Speaker 00: And then they get off the flight.
[35:13] Speaker 00: She's like, okay, starting fresh.
[35:15] Speaker 00: And also she's internalizing a lot of this of like, God, I'm such an idiot.
[35:18] Speaker 00: I'm such a shitty girlfriend.
[35:19] Speaker 00: Why did I do that?
[35:20] Speaker 00: You know?
[35:21] Speaker 00: Yeah, she's beating herself up.
[35:22] Speaker 00: So she's like, okay, I'm gonna be better.
[35:25] Speaker 00: I'm gonna be on my best behavior.
[35:26] Speaker 00: I'm not gonna mess anything up.
[35:27] Speaker 00: So they the first two nights she said are fine.
[35:32] Speaker 00: On the third night or the third day, Sedona is upset that she's not in control of the plans because essentially she had asked Liv to plan it.
[35:42] Speaker 00: And then she's like, I don't get to do anything.
[35:44] Speaker 00: Why am I not in control of the plans?
[35:46] Speaker 00: So Liv was like, Okay, whatever you wanted, it's your birthday.
[35:50] Speaker 00: Why don't you?
[35:50] Speaker 00: And she's like, I really want to go on an A TV.
[35:52] Speaker 00: That's what Sedona wanted was she wanted to go on an A TV.
[35:55] Speaker 00: So they took the A TV out for the day, went around exploring, and came back.
[36:00] Speaker 00: And now it's nighttime, and Sedona's kind of like having a tantrum again.
[36:04] Speaker 00: And Liv's like, what is going on?
[36:06] Speaker 00: And she's like, I I want to go out exploring.
[36:09] Speaker 00: Like, this isn't fun.
[36:09] Speaker 00: I don't just want to go to dinner.
[36:11] Speaker 02: Oh, I remember this.
[36:12] Speaker 00: Yeah.
[36:13] Speaker 00: So she's like, okay, let's go back out on the ATV.
[36:16] Speaker 02: Liv's just trying to do anything to make her happy.
[36:18] Speaker 02: She's like, please let me just get through this trip without there being some disaster.
[36:22] Speaker 00: And probably also feeling this pressure of, I want to make my girlfriend's birthday amazing.
[36:27] Speaker 00: And if I'm failing at that, then let's make changes to make it better.
[36:33] Speaker 00: So they left their phones in the hotel room.
[36:36] Speaker 00: They took the ATV out.
[36:38] Speaker 00: And, you know, Mexico is a very certain parts of Mexico, it's very like resort culture.
[36:43] Speaker 00: And so they took it out.
[36:45] Speaker 00: And at first they were in the kind of strip area where all the hotels are.
[36:49] Speaker 00: Sedona was driving.
[36:50] Speaker 00: They're both on one.
[36:52] Speaker 00: She goes past that strip into essentially just kind of like remote jungle.
[36:58] Speaker 00: Um, past the shops, past everything she's saying she wants to go is called the arch.
[37:03] Speaker 00: It's super dark.
[37:05] Speaker 00: There's literally signs that say Jaguar Crossing.
[37:08] Speaker 00: Okay.
[37:08] Speaker 00: This is stressing me out just thinking about it.
[37:12] Speaker 00: So Olivia is begging Sedona to turn the T A T V around because she's like, let's just do it in the daytime, at least when we have our phones, because in case anything happens, you know, it's like so many reasons, just practical reasons.
[37:24] Speaker 00: She's just driving super fast.
[37:25] Speaker 00: Driving super fast.
[37:26] Speaker 00: She's like, please, please stop.
[37:29] Speaker 00: So Sedona won't answer.
[37:31] Speaker 00: She keeps driving faster and faster.
[37:33] Speaker 00: She drives as fast as she can and then shoves Liv off to the ground and leaves her on the side of the road.
[37:42] Speaker 02: I remember seeing pictures of Liv's like the road rash that she had on her body from being shoved off the ATV at like very high speeds.
[37:51] Speaker 02: It was so scary and so sad.
[37:54] Speaker 00: And do you want to know why she posted those videos of her road rash?
[37:58] Speaker 02: No.
[37:59] Speaker 00: Because when she posted this story time, people were commenting, being like, if this is true, then why didn't we?
[38:04] Speaker 00: Because they all saw their content from Mexico.
[38:06] Speaker 00: Why couldn't we see you had no injuries?
[38:09] Speaker 02: So people she had very serious injuries.
[38:12] Speaker 00: Again, it's like people are doubting her.
[38:13] Speaker 00: So she's like, Okay, cool.
[38:15] Speaker 00: Let me explain myself.
[38:16] Speaker 00: Let me prove it.
[38:17] Speaker 02: Yeah.
[38:18] Speaker 00: And all of these videos, again, are still there.
[38:20] Speaker 00: You can go see for yourself.
[38:21] Speaker 00: So she did.
[38:22] Speaker 00: She showed all the injuries that she had, but that came from people not believing her still, which is inevitably going to happen.
[38:29] Speaker 00: Of course, it's gonna happen.
[38:31] Speaker 02: I mean, you're posting this on the internet and like expecting people to believe you.
[38:34] Speaker 02: Like, I understand why people's reaction is to not believe you.
[38:37] Speaker 02: I get it, but like when she did end up posting all of her injuries, like they were serious, super serious.
[38:45] Speaker 00: So she's on the side of the road and she's like, I didn't know what to do.
[38:49] Speaker 00: So I just started running because I was terrified, like running back towards you know, the more populated area.
[38:55] Speaker 00: And at some point, she doesn't know how long this is going on for.
[39:00] Speaker 00: She sees headlights coming again.
[39:01] Speaker 00: It's Sedona, she's turned around, she's coming back for her.
[39:04] Speaker 00: How scared do you think this girl is at this point?
[39:06] Speaker 00: Like, is this person gonna kill me and leave me in the jungle?
[39:08] Speaker 00: Like, what is it?
[39:09] Speaker 00: She's terrified.
[39:10] Speaker 00: Sedona comes back at such a high speed, she flips the ATV.
[39:15] Speaker 00: Okay.
[39:16] Speaker 00: So Olivia runs over to her to make sure she's okay.
[39:20] Speaker 00: She's like, Oh my god, are you okay?
[39:21] Speaker 00: And Sedona shoves her to the ground and tells her to get the fuck off because it's her fault they're even in this situation.
[39:27] Speaker 00: Like, this is all your fault.
[39:29] Speaker 00: Get away from me.
[39:29] Speaker 00: Look at what you did.
[39:31] Speaker 00: So Olivia's like, Oh my god, I'm sorry.
[39:33] Speaker 00: She's apologizing.
[39:34] Speaker 00: Okay.
[39:35] Speaker 00: She fli Olivia flips the ATV back over.
[39:38] Speaker 00: How did she even how I don't know?
[39:40] Speaker 00: How did she even do that?
[39:41] Speaker 00: I don't know.
[39:42] Speaker 00: But it doesn't start.
[39:43] Speaker 00: The ATV does not start.
[39:44] Speaker 00: So they now are both injured and on the side of the road.
[39:50] Speaker 00: ATV doesn't start in the jungle.
[39:52] Speaker 00: So they are just kind of like, what do we do?
[39:54] Speaker 00: Eventually, a car comes down the road.
[39:56] Speaker 00: There's 10 guys in the back of the truck.
[39:59] Speaker 02: Great.
[39:59] Speaker 00: I know.
[40:00] Speaker 00: Olivia does say, thank God they were good, nice people.
[40:04] Speaker 00: So Olivia asked them if they'll tow them back to the hotel.
[40:08] Speaker 00: So they don't have to get in the truck, but they can just tie, they'll be on the ATV and they can tow them back.
[40:15] Speaker 00: Which was super smart because then, you know, if if they weren't nice people, you know, it's like, I don't know.
[40:22] Speaker 00: At least you have some control instead of being.
[40:24] Speaker 02: She's scared to be towed by the truck, yeah.
[40:26] Speaker 00: So they get tied to the back of the truck, they're going 35 miles an hour, and Sedona's steering.
[40:32] Speaker 00: She's the one in control that you're and she's letting this girl steer.
[40:36] Speaker 00: She's probably swerving it.
[40:38] Speaker 00: She's yelling.
[40:39] Speaker 00: She's Is this she is she drunk?
[40:41] Speaker 00: Like, why is she acting like a terrorist?
[40:43] Speaker 00: They had been drinking, but I don't think she's wasted.
[40:46] Speaker 00: I think, I think she was having a like a mess episode.
[40:50] Speaker 00: Right.
[40:50] Speaker 00: So she's swerving, she's yelling, I'm breaking up with you.
[40:53] Speaker 00: This is all your fault.
[40:54] Speaker 00: You're holding me back, you're holding me back.
[40:56] Speaker 00: Liv is begging her to stop swerving.
[40:58] Speaker 00: Like, please, can we just talk about this when we get back to the hotel?
[41:01] Speaker 02: She's like ready to kill both of them.
[41:03] Speaker 00: Next thing she knows, Livia blacks out and she wakes up on the side of the road because she had flipped the ATV again.
[41:10] Speaker 00: That's when the entire left side of her body gets super torn up.
[41:14] Speaker 00: And the car stopped and everything when they saw this happen.
[41:18] Speaker 00: But Sedona tells them, No, you guys can leave.
[41:21] Speaker 00: We're fine, we're fine.
[41:22] Speaker 00: So now they're stranded again.
[41:24] Speaker 00: So they just roll the ATV into the jungle and start walking back.
[41:28] Speaker 00: So as they're walking, then Sedona's skipping down the road, going, Yes, I'm single.
[41:35] Speaker 00: Like, yay, you know, and she was saying, Where is my short Latina baddie at?
[41:40] Speaker 00: These are quotes from Liv's video.
[41:43] Speaker 00: So eventually a taxi comes driving down the road and they get taken back to the hotel.
[41:50] Speaker 00: Hotel security has to escort Sedona up to the room because she couldn't hold herself up.
[41:55] Speaker 00: So this kind of implies, yeah, she was intoxicated.
[41:58] Speaker 00: Like something is going on, you know?
[42:00] Speaker 00: The next day is Sedona's birthday.
[42:03] Speaker 00: So Liv wakes up, she's kissing her.
[42:06] Speaker 00: Like, okay, let's just, let's just pretend like yesterday didn't happen.
[42:10] Speaker 00: I want to give you the best birthday ever.
[42:12] Speaker 02: At this point, she's probably like, please just like, I need to get through this so that I don't die.
[42:16] Speaker 02: Because this person's gonna kill me.
[42:18] Speaker 00: I don't even think she was there yet.
[42:20] Speaker 00: Oh my god.
[42:20] Speaker 00: She wasn't there yet.
[42:21] Speaker 00: She does get there.
[42:23] Speaker 00: As soon as she starts kissing her.
[42:25] Speaker 00: I've been there, by the way.
[42:26] Speaker 02: I have been on horrible trips with like really toxic girlfriends, and you're just like, I just need to get through this without anything else going wrong.
[42:34] Speaker 02: Like, how do I be perfect and adjust everything that I can adjust for to make sure that they're happy and I'll do anything so that there's no craziness happening around us.
[42:45] Speaker 02: I'll literally do anything.
[42:47] Speaker 02: I remember thinking those thoughts of like, please just like let me get through this weekend.
[42:51] Speaker 02: You know what I mean?
[42:52] Speaker 00: And like it's so scary to be in that position.
[42:54] Speaker 00: And when you've known someone long enough and well enough, you know their triggers, so you know how to be that perfect counterpart, you know how to not set them off and to avoid the landmines of their temper.
[43:06] Speaker 00: Yeah.
[43:06] Speaker 02: You think they think try to like control their drinking, like just, oh, if I like see they're getting too drunk, maybe give them some water.
[43:13] Speaker 02: Like you're trying to like control the situation in it in a way where it's like you actually can't control them whatsoever.
[43:19] Speaker 00: Yeah.
[43:20] Speaker 00: So Sedona shoves her away.
[43:22] Speaker 00: She's like, broke, we're broken up.
[43:23] Speaker 00: Fuck you.
[43:24] Speaker 00: I don't want to spend my birthday with you.
[43:26] Speaker 00: So she's still in the mood.
[43:28] Speaker 00: So Liv is like, okay, I'm gonna try to just figure out the ATV that we left in the jungle because we still have to like pay for that and deal with that.
[43:37] Speaker 00: So she goes, finds it, pays $800 for the damages.
[43:43] Speaker 00: And when she comes back, and also this whole time is obviously giving Sedona some alone time.
[43:48] Speaker 00: And I'm assuming she's kind of doing this because it sounds like maybe that space, like that sounds like the pattern of like, okay, if I just go away for a little bit, then she'll cool down and get over it eventually.
[43:59] Speaker 00: So when she comes back, she's also like, okay, I know I'm gonna get a medical team to come up and help with Sedona's accident wounds because you know, I want to like show that I'm caring for her and be nurturing and all this stuff.
[44:13] Speaker 00: When the medical team comes up and they look at both of them, they decide that lives are actually worse and she needs attention first.
[44:21] Speaker 00: So you can imagine.
[44:22] Speaker 02: So now Sedona's even more upset.
[44:24] Speaker 00: She's pissed.
[44:24] Speaker 00: She's like, wow, you would, you know, just that energy shift that just sucks the air out of the room.
[44:32] Speaker 02: Oh, I hate that feeling, you know?
[44:34] Speaker 02: When it's like either you see the change in their eyes or the shift in the energy, and all the air leaves the room, and you're just like internally, you start panicking.
[44:44] Speaker 00: Especially when you're like, but I was doing everything right, you know, and you're trying to do the right, it's so discouraging.
[44:51] Speaker 02: Yeah.
[44:51] Speaker 00: Because you're like, now, now what?
[44:53] Speaker 00: So Liv's version of trying to continue to do the right thing is she's like, okay, I'll take care of your wounds.
[45:00] Speaker 00: And she was changing the bandages every hour, you know, was cleaning them every hour.
[45:05] Speaker 00: I think it goes without saying Sedona does not reciprocate to Liv.
[45:09] Speaker 00: Shocker.
[45:10] Speaker 00: And she just keeps telling her, Oh, she's such a piece of shit and she doesn't love her, and you know, all this stuff.
[45:16] Speaker 00: So Liv spends hours circling the hotel room thinking what she could do to make Sedona feel better because this is her birthday.
[45:22] Speaker 00: So she's also feeling this pressure of like, I can't ruin this girl's birthday.
[45:27] Speaker 00: And she had made reservations for dinner at 8:30, but S or Sedona doesn't wake up until 8 p.m.
[45:33] Speaker 00: Cause she eventually passes out, doesn't wake up till 8 p.m.
[45:37] Speaker 00: Liv is like, Are you ready?
[45:39] Speaker 00: Like, let's do it, gets all dressed up.
[45:40] Speaker 00: It's like, come on, baby.
[45:41] Speaker 02: Trying to like bring the energy, really, bring the excitement.
[45:44] Speaker 02: You know, when it's like you don't want to go to dinner with somebody, but you're like, it's their birthday, so I have to like be excited, you know?
[45:50] Speaker 00: But she's also like all dressed up, got like looks great.
[45:53] Speaker 00: And Sedona's like, fuck you, I'm spending my birthday alone.
[45:57] Speaker 00: So Sedona leaves Liv in the hotel when Liv is fully ready, and Liv goes back to sleep for two hours because she's just like, I what am I supposed to do?
[46:06] Speaker 00: Then she gets a text from Sedona saying that she's getting a tattoo down the street and she should pull up, quotes.
[46:13] Speaker 00: So Liv is like, I just wanted to see my girlfriend.
[46:16] Speaker 00: So she goes.
[46:17] Speaker 00: And Sedona says, I'm so sorry.
[46:20] Speaker 00: This isn't text before.
[46:21] Speaker 00: I'm so sorry.
[46:22] Speaker 00: You've been amazing.
[46:22] Speaker 00: I just really want my birthday to be manic.
[46:25] Speaker 00: So that's those were her words.
[46:26] Speaker 00: She keeps saying, I just want my birthday to be manic.
[46:29] Speaker 00: And she also keeps saying, You're holding me back.
[46:31] Speaker 00: Like, I don't want to just go to dinner.
[46:32] Speaker 00: I want this wild night, essentially.
[46:36] Speaker 00: So Liv shows these texts in her videos, screenshots of these texts as proof.
[46:42] Speaker 00: Again, you want to prove, like, I'm not lying here.
[46:45] Speaker 00: I know this person's gonna say I'm lying.
[46:47] Speaker 00: I'm not.
[46:48] Speaker 00: Liv walks to the tattoo shop and there's five girls in there taking shots with Sedona.
[46:52] Speaker 00: And she says, two of the five girls were Liv was not a fan of them because they were all over Sedona, like all, you know, like, oh, you're so sexy, like you're so hot, and just kind of like all over her.
[47:06] Speaker 00: And then the other three girls, she said, super cool.
[47:09] Speaker 00: She's actually still friends with them.
[47:11] Speaker 00: And they sort of like had Liv's back in this whole situation.
[47:16] Speaker 00: So Liv sort of gloms on to the group of three girls and gets their number to go to their villa later because that's what Sedona wanted to do.
[47:26] Speaker 00: She wanted to go to their villa.
[47:27] Speaker 00: Okay.
[47:28] Speaker 00: So the girls leave, and as soon as the girls leave, Sedona goes cold immediately.
[47:34] Speaker 00: You know that.
[47:35] Speaker 00: Oh, yeah.
[47:35] Speaker 00: You know that pattern of like, the charm is on, we're having fun, there's hot girls around.
[47:40] Speaker 00: As soon as they're gone, she's like, ew, just cold again.
[47:43] Speaker 00: So she's getting that emotional whiplash.
[47:46] Speaker 00: The girls come back, pick them up, and I guess one of the kind of shady girls says to Sedona, like, Oh, I'll sit on your lap because they're they have a small car.
[47:56] Speaker 00: And Liv's like, uh, no, you won't.
[47:58] Speaker 00: I'll sit on her lap.
[48:00] Speaker 00: That's my girlfriend.
[48:01] Speaker 00: And so the tension is super high in the car.
[48:04] Speaker 00: And as Sedona series, like, pretty obviously doesn't want Liv to be on her.
[48:10] Speaker 00: Like, she like wanted the other girl to be on, you know what I mean?
[48:13] Speaker 00: Of course.
[48:14] Speaker 02: Because now she gets to be like in player mode and like, look at all the girls that want me.
[48:19] Speaker 02: And I can have anyone I want.
[48:21] Speaker 02: So you should really be like groveling at my feet.
[48:24] Speaker 02: And this is she's doing this super intentionally, obviously.
[48:26] Speaker 00: For control.
[48:27] Speaker 00: So Liv goes to the bathroom with one of the nice girls when they get to the villa, and in the bathroom, one of the nice girls says, What is your girlfriend on?
[48:35] Speaker 00: And Liv was like, Okay.
[48:38] Speaker 00: If anything, it was kind of validating because she's like, Okay, it's not just me that's seeing this.
[48:42] Speaker 00: Because you also wonder that, like, is it because a lot of the times in abusive situations, they do only show it to you.
[48:49] Speaker 00: You know, they know how to turn that charm on and off.
[48:52] Speaker 00: So she's like, Okay, that's it.
[48:53] Speaker 00: Was actually this is when she starts having that, like, am I gonna die here?
[48:57] Speaker 00: kind of feeling.
[48:59] Speaker 00: So the girl says that Liv can stay with them if she needs a place to stay.
[49:05] Speaker 00: That's nice, super nice because she can literally sense you are in danger.
[49:10] Speaker 00: And so they have this whole bonding moment in the bathroom.
[49:14] Speaker 00: When they finally go downstairs, what do you think they see in the pool?
[49:19] Speaker 02: Tenona's hooking up with some girl.
[49:21] Speaker 00: She's not hooking up with her, but she's topless, and she's holding the girl who wants to sit on her lap, like pressed against, you know, chest to chest, pouring tequila in her mouth.
[49:32] Speaker 00: Okay.
[49:32] Speaker 00: So might as well be hooking up.
[49:34] Speaker 00: Might as well.
[49:35] Speaker 00: And she keeps being like, Come here, sexy, like, come here, you know, just very innocent.
[49:40] Speaker 00: Gross.
[49:41] Speaker 00: So Liv tells her that she's leaving.
[49:43] Speaker 00: This is really kind of her breaking point.
[49:45] Speaker 00: Like, I don't deserve to watch this.
[49:46] Speaker 00: And Sedona's like, if you leave, I'm gonna fuck her tonight.
[49:50] Speaker 00: Go for it.
[49:52] Speaker 01: Literally, who cares at this point?
[49:54] Speaker 01: You are so crazy.
[49:55] Speaker 01: I know, but you know how that feels.
[49:58] Speaker 02: Like that I understand.
[50:00] Speaker 01: I would have been, I'd be devastated at this point.
[50:02] Speaker 00: It's just like, enjoy what I know, but I feel for her at this time because it's like you know how that feels when you're like, that feels like the worst feeling.
[50:12] Speaker 00: No, I can't, that can't.
[50:14] Speaker 00: You're mine.
[50:15] Speaker 00: I don't know.
[50:16] Speaker 02: You're like flailing because she's now controlled and manipulated you to the point where you are so desperate to be to have love and affection from this person who is just an absolute abuser.
[50:30] Speaker 02: Yeah.
[50:30] Speaker 00: Yeah.
[50:30] Speaker 00: So Liv tells the nice girl from the bathroom she's ready to leave.
[50:34] Speaker 00: And the nice girl, that group of girls, screams at Sedona for Liv.
[50:39] Speaker 00: And she was like, Yes, I know.
[50:41] Speaker 00: I was like, Yes, that's so nice.
[50:43] Speaker 00: So they get to the front of the villa.
[50:45] Speaker 00: It sounds like this place is pretty big, and she realizes that she sells Sedona's phone and she doesn't want to go back in.
[50:51] Speaker 00: So the nice girl runs it back for her.
[50:54] Speaker 00: And Liv is standing at the front of the villa and she hears this blood curdling scream.
[51:00] Speaker 00: And the group of nice girls run back.
[51:03] Speaker 00: They look terrified, like, look like they've seen a ghost, terrified.
[51:07] Speaker 00: And they were like, I like the look in Sedona's eyes when we gave the phone, it was the scariest thing I've ever seen.
[51:14] Speaker 00: Like, we have to get out of here.
[51:16] Speaker 00: We are not safe.
[51:17] Speaker 00: We're terrified of this person.
[51:19] Speaker 00: And Liv is like, Oh, I know that look.
[51:22] Speaker 00: I know exactly that look.
[51:23] Speaker 00: And they're like, We're leaving now.
[51:26] Speaker 00: You come in with us or not?
[51:27] Speaker 00: And Liv felt like at that point, because she knew that look, she shouldn't leave her.
[51:32] Speaker 00: No, because she was scared for her.
[51:36] Speaker 00: Same as Riley.
[51:37] Speaker 00: It's like you don't want that person to hurt themselves, to hurt someone else.
[51:41] Speaker 00: Like you feel responsible for them.
[51:43] Speaker 00: So she stayed.
[51:44] Speaker 02: That is such a hard position to be in because you're also like endangering yourself for this other person because you don't want them to hurt themselves.
[51:53] Speaker 00: Yeah.
[51:53] Speaker 00: So when she comes back and she finds Sedona in the bushes, and she's saying, like, just kind of passed out in the bushes.
[52:00] Speaker 00: She's saying her ankle is broken, she can't walk.
[52:02] Speaker 00: So Liv helps her into a taxi.
[52:04] Speaker 00: And once again, security has to escort her up to the room because she cannot walk.
[52:10] Speaker 00: So the next day, the same thing happens.
[52:13] Speaker 00: Liv is kissing on her, saying, Let's pretend yesterday didn't happen.
[52:16] Speaker 00: Let's let's do a do-over.
[52:17] Speaker 00: Today is your birthday.
[52:18] Speaker 00: Sedona pushes her away.
[52:20] Speaker 00: And she's like, No, I even told my mom we're broken up.
[52:22] Speaker 00: And you know, one of those things, it's like when you tell the parents it's real because you have this silent agreement.
[52:28] Speaker 00: Like, we don't tell the parents until it's or anyone.
[52:32] Speaker 02: It's like that is the way the toxic abusive relationships work.
[52:35] Speaker 02: It's like you know you're gonna get back together.
[52:37] Speaker 02: So, and if you tell people, then they're just gonna want you to break up with them.
[52:40] Speaker 02: And so you have to keep it a secret.
[52:43] Speaker 00: Yeah, the power of the toxicity is in the secret, secretiveness?
[52:48] Speaker 00: Yes, yeah, secrecy.
[52:49] Speaker 00: That's the word.
[52:50] Speaker 00: So then Sedona calls her mom in front of Liv, and it's clear that she didn't actually speak to her mom because her mom's like, Oh, how was your birthday?
[53:00] Speaker 00: And Sedona tells her mom in front of Liv.
[53:03] Speaker 00: She's like, My birthday sucked, Liv ruined it.
[53:05] Speaker 00: Like, she's such a shitty girl.
[53:07] Speaker 00: Like, it's talking all this shit about Olivia in front of her.
[53:10] Speaker 02: Wow.
[53:11] Speaker 00: And so Liv says, while she's on the phone with her mom, why don't you tell your mom about the two girls you tried to fuck in front of me?
[53:18] Speaker 00: I'm like, Yes, go live.
[53:20] Speaker 00: And so she says at that point, that's when she felt done.
[53:24] Speaker 00: And because she's like, you're bringing the moms into it, like this is too far for me.
[53:28] Speaker 00: I'm done.
[53:29] Speaker 00: Liv books a flight, calls her mom, tells her mom everything, and leaves, leaves Mexico, leaves Sedona there.
[53:36] Speaker 00: Sedona blocks Liv, removes all of their photos, making fans speculate that Liv did something wrong.
[53:44] Speaker 00: Okay.
[53:45] Speaker 00: And um, Sedona told Liv that if she brought it to socials, then she would pursue legal action.
[53:52] Speaker 00: She said, if you do go to social media, I'll sue you, my baby and your family, until I know she keeps doing this, but she'll say something really dark and then be like, My sweet angel love.
[54:04] Speaker 00: It this is this is how it is in all of her texts, and that's what makes it so unnerving.
[54:09] Speaker 00: I'll sue you, my baby, and your family until you can't put food on the table and know that that's the truth.
[54:15] Speaker 00: Bye, sweet, beautiful angel.
[54:17] Speaker 00: I'll meet you in the next life.
[54:19] Speaker 02: So I'm gonna destroy you and your family so you never have food or housing again, essentially.
[54:24] Speaker 02: But Steve in the next knife, love you, love you forever.
[54:27] Speaker 00: What?
[54:27] Speaker 00: Terrifying.
[54:29] Speaker 02: I that is like psychotic on next level.
[54:32] Speaker 02: It is, it's next level.
[54:34] Speaker 02: This person, I hope, is getting serious treatment.
[54:40] Speaker 00: Yeah.
[54:40] Speaker 00: So when Liv left, Sedona stayed in Mexico for 12 days.
[54:45] Speaker 00: I don't know how long the trip was supposed to be, but it wasn't 12 days.
[54:49] Speaker 00: Okay.
[54:49] Speaker 00: She didn't answer anyone in her life's messages other than Liv.
[54:54] Speaker 00: So this you kind of had asked before if her family knows they're aware.
[54:59] Speaker 00: Because the same thing.
[55:00] Speaker 02: They must be so worried.
[55:01] Speaker 02: Like if the family has any idea, they must be so worried about this person at this point.
[55:05] Speaker 02: Like, you're not responding.
[55:07] Speaker 02: We know something happened.
[55:09] Speaker 02: We know I'm sure her family has seen these tendencies.
[55:13] Speaker 00: Exactly.
[55:13] Speaker 00: They're not, it's not going to be shocking to them.
[55:16] Speaker 00: And so once again, Liv still felt responsible and she she wanted to make sure that Sedona got back to the states okay.
[55:22] Speaker 00: She felt she still cared about her physical well-being.
[55:26] Speaker 00: She wanted to make sure she was safe.
[55:28] Speaker 00: So they didn't actually go full no contact until she got back to the states and Liv got her things because they lived together.
[55:35] Speaker 00: And then, and she said, honestly, like we didn't end on super terrible terms.
[55:41] Speaker 00: Those were her words.
[55:42] Speaker 00: I was like, you didn't?
[55:43] Speaker 00: Because that sounded like I think she meant the actual moment of break.
[55:50] Speaker 00: Yeah, it was like, okay, this didn't work, you know.
[55:53] Speaker 00: And like I said, even when she's telling the stories, you can tell she still is indoctrinated by it all.
[55:58] Speaker 00: Where it's like, oh, you still don't realize how traumatized you are yet, you know, which it takes time.
[56:05] Speaker 00: So I totally get that.
[56:06] Speaker 00: And then once they were no contact and Liv processed more, that's when she started getting angry, you know, and she's like, and she also had a lot of questions.
[56:16] Speaker 00: And she's like, and I'm sure I'm never gonna get the answer to those questions.
[56:20] Speaker 00: So when Sedona sent a text to Liv saying that Liv was tarnishing their love and disturbing her healing journey, because essentially Liv had made videos.
[56:30] Speaker 00: I don't know what the exact videos were, or if it was just her living her life single.
[56:35] Speaker 00: And Sedona's like, Oh, cool.
[56:37] Speaker 00: So now you're sounds like the same thing she did to Riley, where she's texting her well after they're over and being like, This is so messed up that you're tarnishing our love and kind of reducing it to this one bad thing.
[56:50] Speaker 00: And she said, You're disturbing my healing journey.
[56:54] Speaker 00: And that was Liz's trigger to make this story time.
[56:58] Speaker 00: Okay.
[56:58] Speaker 00: Because she's like, Are you your healing journey?
[57:00] Speaker 00: Like, nothing happened to you.
[57:02] Speaker 00: What are you talking about?
[57:03] Speaker 00: I have PTSD.
[57:04] Speaker 00: And so and she, same thing, it threatened the suing, all these things.
[57:08] Speaker 00: And so she's like, Come at me, bitch, basically, which no one had done to her so far because she did have more power, more dominance, more money, it seemed, over other people.
[57:19] Speaker 00: Yeah.
[57:20] Speaker 00: And Liv was kind of like calling her.
[57:22] Speaker 02: That perceived power and influence can go a long way with people.
[57:25] Speaker 02: Where it's like, you have millions of followers, and so if I say that I'm gonna sue you, like I think a lot of people would believe that and feel scared and threatened and not want to pursue any sort of action.
[57:36] Speaker 00: Exactly.
[57:37] Speaker 00: And and that's exactly what I'm saying.
[57:39] Speaker 00: It's like she was kind of calling her bluff of like, can you even do anything?
[57:42] Speaker 02: You know, so what are you going to do?
[57:44] Speaker 02: I have like all of this evidence against you.
[57:47] Speaker 00: So when her story, her story time came out, went mega viral, other girls started coming forward.
[57:53] Speaker 00: Oh no.
[57:54] Speaker 00: And one there's always more.
[57:57] Speaker 00: There's always more.
[57:58] Speaker 00: So obviously, first people are looking to Riley.
[58:00] Speaker 00: That's when they're like, tell us your story.
[58:02] Speaker 00: And she's like, I don't want to get into all of that again.
[58:05] Speaker 00: At this point, it's been over for us for two years.
[58:07] Speaker 00: I'm also healing and on this journey.
[58:10] Speaker 00: So this other girl came forward, told her story.
[58:13] Speaker 00: They were in just a situation ship, but she mentions that same look in the eyes, the same violence, the shoving, throwing chairs, and they hung out once.
[58:22] Speaker 00: They they were talking online, hung out, and then Sedona had one of her kind of episodes, which does seem to be induced by alcohol.
[58:32] Speaker 02: That, you know, every story that well I mean, that's the thing with BPD, is like if you are, you know, a lot of people with BPD are mixing drugs and out drugs and alcohol, and that is usually when the episodes happen.
[58:47] Speaker 02: And my that was the same experience I had with my girlfriend.
[58:50] Speaker 02: I was like, She was fine when she was sober, but if she started drinking or taking any sort of pills or anything like that, it was like zero to a hundred so fast, and it was so scary every time.
[59:01] Speaker 00: Yeah.
[59:02] Speaker 00: The other girl that came out, this was a really sad story, and this is the sexual assault story.
[59:08] Speaker 00: So, you know, if you want to skip past this part, then skip past it.
[59:11] Speaker 00: Hers happened in 2019.
[59:13] Speaker 00: So this was year five years before at the point of lives.
[59:16] Speaker 00: They were both super young in college.
[59:19] Speaker 00: Same thing.
[59:20] Speaker 00: They had met online, started talking.
[59:22] Speaker 00: This was before Sedona was as big as she is.
[59:25] Speaker 00: This was 2019.
[59:26] Speaker 00: She already had somewhat of a following and, you know, was like this hot shot basketball player, but she took her out on a date.
[59:34] Speaker 00: When she brought her home, she pulled the car past her house.
[59:38] Speaker 00: And you know, that feeling of like, oh god.
[59:40] Speaker 00: And she had already made it clear, you know, like, I don't want, we just went on one date.
[59:46] Speaker 00: Like, I don't want I to do anything more than like kiss you goodnight.
[59:49] Speaker 00: And Sedona says, I didn't take you out for nothing.
[59:52] Speaker 00: And, you know, forced herself.
[59:56] Speaker 00: That experience happened.
[59:57] Speaker 00: She shared about it.
[59:59] Speaker 00: Not long after.
[1:00:01] Speaker 00: And again, Sedona silenced her, threatening to sue her family.
[1:00:05] Speaker 00: And this girl, it was so heartbreaking.
[1:00:08] Speaker 00: And I'm not really sure.
[1:00:10] Speaker 00: I mean, I guess, yeah, I will say her name because she shared her story publicly and because she also shared with the Washington Post.
[1:00:17] Speaker 00: Like, this is all in the post article that came out just recently.
[1:00:21] Speaker 00: So her name was Liz.
[1:00:23] Speaker 00: And she made a pretty lengthy video about it, maybe 10 minutes or so.
[1:00:27] Speaker 00: But she, it was really, really heartbreaking to watch.
[1:00:31] Speaker 00: And she had just said, you know, like I didn't have anything.
[1:00:34] Speaker 00: I came from, I didn't come from a lot.
[1:00:36] Speaker 00: My family didn't have a lot.
[1:00:38] Speaker 00: This person of power is threatening to sue me.
[1:00:41] Speaker 00: And now I'm also feeling this like monetary thing happening.
[1:00:45] Speaker 00: And I was scared.
[1:00:46] Speaker 00: So even when she shared about it right away, she took it down because Sedona intimidated her.
[1:00:52] Speaker 00: And you know, Liv sharing her story again empowered her to be like, okay, maybe people will also believe me now because people didn't believe her at the time either.
[1:01:02] Speaker 02: It's interesting, too, with like, especially in queer relationships, sexual assault and domestic violence, I feel like is not always taken as seriously with the police as well.
[1:01:15] Speaker 00: Do you think just with women or with gay men?
[1:01:18] Speaker 02: I think more with women, but with gay men as well.
[1:01:20] Speaker 02: Like that's what everything that I've heard.
[1:01:22] Speaker 02: It's like it's not taken as seriously.
[1:01:25] Speaker 02: And as I would imagine even more so with women, because it's like, well, you're both women, like you can't really do it.
[1:01:30] Speaker 02: How bad should it be?
[1:01:31] Speaker 02: Right?
[1:01:31] Speaker 00: Yeah.
[1:01:32] Speaker 02: And and so it's really sad to hear that, like, you know, that that trend continues.
[1:01:40] Speaker 00: It's really, really sad.
[1:01:42] Speaker 00: So all of that happened.
[1:01:45] Speaker 00: The Washington Post dropped an article, which you guys can read for yourself.
[1:01:50] Speaker 00: It was super lengthy.
[1:01:51] Speaker 00: They talk about four people in it.
[1:01:54] Speaker 00: One of them is Liv.
[1:01:55] Speaker 00: One of them is the girl who I just mentioned, and one of them, or the two other girls that I just mentioned, they don't talk about Riley.
[1:02:02] Speaker 00: I don't know if Riley didn't want to talk to them or exactly what happened there.
[1:02:06] Speaker 00: But they also talked about another altercation she had with an ex who was after Liv, where actually at the time that it happened, both Sedona and that ex filed police reports the next morning.
[1:02:19] Speaker 00: So there are also police reports and all of this physical evidence that was documented by the police, they both had physical damage on their body.
[1:02:28] Speaker 00: Um yeah.
[1:02:30] Speaker 02: And this is so sad.
[1:02:32] Speaker 00: Honestly, it's just so really sad, really sad.
[1:02:35] Speaker 00: It also came out that since being in these relationships, Sedona now asks people who she's dating to sign an NDA.
[1:02:43] Speaker 00: Of course she does.
[1:02:43] Speaker 00: And of course, like you said, positions it as well, I just, you know, people try to tarnish my name and my reputation, and they're just all trying to, you know.
[1:02:52] Speaker 02: Team's just trying to do damage control.
[1:02:54] Speaker 00: Exactly.
[1:02:55] Speaker 00: So, like I mentioned, they created a petition, 200,000 people signed it.
[1:03:00] Speaker 00: TCU, which is the school she was at, did nothing.
[1:03:04] Speaker 00: She kept playing for them.
[1:03:05] Speaker 00: There have been zero repercussions.
[1:03:08] Speaker 02: Yeah.
[1:03:09] Speaker 00: It's like, great, you change the weight room, but like, what about this?
[1:03:13] Speaker 00: Which honestly, I feel like if that was a dude though, they would have done that.
[1:03:19] Speaker 02: That's what I'm saying.
[1:03:20] Speaker 02: Is that like it's not taken as seriously in queer female relationships like domestic violence and sexual assault.
[1:03:27] Speaker 02: And it's like if there was a man involved, it would have been taken a lot more seriously.
[1:03:33] Speaker 00: Yeah.
[1:03:33] Speaker 00: It also would have been more mainstream.
[1:03:36] unknown: Yeah.
[1:03:37] Speaker 00: You know, I'm sure there's a lot, even though I said this did go mainstream, obviously Washington Post is mainstream, but it's like Imagine if this was like one of the top college basketball stars that was a guy.
[1:03:46] Speaker 00: It would be all over.
[1:03:48] Speaker 00: And it's just like, well, she's a girl.
[1:03:50] Speaker 00: And it's like, yeah, she is.
[1:03:52] Speaker 00: She's also, you looked it up, wasn't she like 250, six foot six foot seven, millions of followers?
[1:03:58] Speaker 00: Millions, you know, so she has power physically, you know, on a social level.
[1:04:03] Speaker 00: She's powerful, just as powerful, arguably, as a man.
[1:04:08] Speaker 00: So, and it still is like, whatever, girls are just having little lesbian lover spats, and it's like she's she's it's gonna kill someone, you know, like that's it's one of those things that needs to be listened to.
[1:04:24] Speaker 00: So it has, like I said, she's denied everything, she said none of these things have happened.
[1:04:31] Speaker 02: Her team, her lawyers always no one's pressed charges or anything against her, I don't think.
[1:04:36] Speaker 00: No, so that one with the police report, they both ended up dropping it.
[1:04:40] Speaker 00: Like there, that was kind of the farthest that it had ever gone because most people were too intimidated to even keep their post up on social media, let alone press charges.
[1:04:52] Speaker 00: And there's also the statute of limitations with charges.
[1:04:55] Speaker 00: And this is the thing with the system and victims, it's like, well, though they will question you if you come in and be like, Well, why didn't you call the police if it was so bad, if you were so scared, why didn't you do this, do that?
[1:05:08] Speaker 00: You know, it's like if you don't do things the exact way that they want you to, then they'll and even then you're not like you said, the perfect victim on top of that, yeah.
[1:05:16] Speaker 02: They can, you know, so many of these folks go through so many challenges once they do go into the legal system.
[1:05:22] Speaker 00: Yeah, yeah.
[1:05:24] Speaker 00: So that's where we're at.
[1:05:27] Speaker 00: She's lost a lot of followers.
[1:05:29] Speaker 00: That petition happened.
[1:05:31] Speaker 00: She didn't get drafted to the WMBA, so that feels like the biggest sort of repercussion she's had so far.
[1:05:38] Speaker 00: But she's still playing pro basketball.
[1:05:39] Speaker 00: She's still playing pro basketball overseas.
[1:05:42] Speaker 00: She's still dating, you know?
[1:05:44] Speaker 00: Um, and since then, I think it was just last month, she went on a podcast and said, actually, I've been diagnosed with bipolar two, which is obviously it's great to destigmatize mental illness and all these things.
[1:06:00] Speaker 00: But a lot of people were kind of speculating, like, you're just sharing this to garner sympathy.
[1:06:04] Speaker 02: It just didn't feel they're like, You're that's great to know that, but my hope is that you're you know getting help.
[1:06:10] Speaker 02: Getting help for, you know, the mental health challenges that you do have because they're very serious and they're impacting a lot of people.
[1:06:18] Speaker 00: And it's also gonna impact her life if she does do something to the point of being incarcerated, you know, like that's for your own safety.
[1:06:26] Speaker 00: Don't you want to get that managed, you know?
[1:06:30] Speaker 00: So it is super sad, a super sad story.
[1:06:35] Speaker 00: Um, and like I said, as far as kind of like the reception on the other side, a lot of people had a ton of sympathy, empathy for all of the girls, but really it wasn't until Liv's story went mega viral.
[1:06:48] Speaker 00: Initially, there was a lot of doubt cast on other victims who came forward before.
[1:06:52] Speaker 00: And then once it felt more legitimatized by Liv, then people started being very sympathetic towards everyone.
[1:07:00] Speaker 00: But, you know, that was definitely disheartening, I think, to see as well.
[1:07:06] Speaker 02: Yeah.
[1:07:07] Speaker 00: So what do you think?
[1:07:11] Speaker 02: I don't even know what to say.
[1:07:13] Speaker 02: It's such a it's a really, really sad story.
[1:07:15] Speaker 02: Yeah.
[1:07:16] Speaker 02: Unfortunately, you know, our community is severely impacted by domestic violence.
[1:07:25] Speaker 02: You know, you know, people in same-sex relationships, we see high rates of domestic violence.
[1:07:31] Speaker 02: And so it's really sad to hear about this story and see her wield her power and use control and manipulation tactics to hurt these women.
[1:07:41] Speaker 02: And I honestly just hope that she gets the help that she needs because it's really sad.
[1:07:45] Speaker 00: I know.
[1:07:46] Speaker 00: And even it's like go back to how you started, which was preaching gender equality and like that.
[1:07:52] Speaker 00: You started on such this positive high note.
[1:07:54] Speaker 00: You can use that power for good.
[1:07:57] Speaker 00: Go back there.
[1:07:58] Speaker 00: So I don't know.
[1:08:00] Speaker 00: I mean, I feel like this episode is obviously intense, heavy.
[1:08:04] Speaker 00: It feels weird to do who's the problem after this.
[1:08:07] Speaker 00: So, what if instead we just give one as two people who have been in abusive relationships?
[1:08:13] Speaker 00: What is one piece of advice or encouragement you would give to somebody if they're in one or think they might be in one, if they're getting through it?
[1:08:22] Speaker 02: I'm I'm not gonna go that route.
[1:08:24] Speaker 02: I'm gonna go somewhere else, okay.
[1:08:25] Speaker 02: Which is um, so when I was in my relationship that was abusive, it was more like emotionally, and then it turned more physical, like very at the very end.
[1:08:37] Speaker 02: Um I had told friends along the way, but I wasn't ready to leave yet.
[1:08:44] Speaker 02: Like I had tried to leave a couple of times.
[1:08:47] Speaker 02: And my experience in my own experience, but also watching other people go through this, is that like friends at they'll give you like one chance to leave.
[1:08:56] Speaker 02: And if you don't take that opportunity, they kind of write you off and they stop supporting you as a friend.
[1:09:01] Speaker 02: And that just leaves you more and more isolated.
[1:09:04] Speaker 02: And eventually you do get to that point.
[1:09:06] Speaker 02: Maybe it's the second time you want to leave or the third time you try to leave, but eventually you will get that power to want to leave.
[1:09:12] Speaker 02: And if all of your friends have like left you, it makes it even harder because you're now more and more isolated, you're doing this all on your own.
[1:09:19] Speaker 02: So for me, my biggest takeaway from it was like when people are going through it, like give them, give them that sympathy and the empathy as they're going through it, like, and know that they'll get there on their own time.
[1:09:29] Speaker 02: So don't write them off.
[1:09:30] Speaker 02: Like, stay friend, stay friends with them, like be a support to someone.
[1:09:34] Speaker 00: Definitely don't get mad at them if they don't leave or if they leave and then go back.
[1:09:38] Speaker 00: Exactly.
[1:09:39] Speaker 02: It's a really, really hard situation to actually get up the courage and power to leave and change your life.
[1:09:45] Speaker 02: And so for me, it's like a real friend in the end will allow that person to get there on their own time.
[1:09:52] Speaker 02: It doesn't mean you won't say, like, hey, you deserve better, like support them in other ways, but you like, I don't know.
[1:09:58] Speaker 02: If I could say anything, it's just like stay friends with them.
[1:10:02] Speaker 02: If you need to have like space from them, that's okay, but still be there, check in and support and like help them if they need the help in the end.
[1:10:08] Speaker 00: Right.
[1:10:09] Speaker 02: Don't get discouraged if they don't leave immediately.
[1:10:11] Speaker 00: Yeah, that's really, really good.
[1:10:13] Speaker 00: I think that's perfect.
[1:10:15] Speaker 00: It's a perfect place to end.
[1:10:16] Speaker 00: And it is so, so important because you might, if you've never gone through it, then it's like, how can you know what it's like?
[1:10:23] Speaker 00: It is so confusing from the outside to be like, but why would you put up with that?
[1:10:27] Speaker 00: And you know, it's you literally get brainwashed.
[1:10:30] Speaker 00: It's people talk about it the same way as being in a cult, it's a one-to-one cult.
[1:10:34] Speaker 00: Your brain changes.
[1:10:37] Speaker 00: Yeah, it's been so manipulated and changed in this person's hands.
[1:10:41] Speaker 00: And so it's like, have grace and patience with that person.
[1:10:44] Speaker 00: They will get out of it.
[1:10:45] Speaker 00: So that they can get out, you know, because the more they feel isolated, the harder it will be to leave.
[1:10:50] Speaker 00: We love you guys.
[1:10:53] Speaker 02: We love you.
[1:10:53] Speaker 02: That was heavy.
[1:10:54] Speaker 00: It was heavy.
[1:10:55] Speaker 00: Take a deep breath.
[1:10:57] Speaker 02: We'll see you next week.
[1:10:58] Speaker 00: Yes, we'll see you next week.
