## Transcript

[0:10] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Hello, everybody.
[0:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Welcome to another episode of Teen Talks.
[0:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I am your host, Tane.
[0:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Here to talk about Marida First Site, the new batch of episodes specifically episode seven.
[0:21] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I have a guest today.
[0:23] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm happy to have my guest today.
[0:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm my guest is Camille from Season 18 of Marida First Site.
[0:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Hi Camille.
[0:30] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Hey.
[0:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's good to have you on.
[0:33] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We were just talking before we came on.
[0:35] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like you just had a vacation.
[0:36] \[SPEAKER_01\]: How have you been?
[0:37] \[SPEAKER_01\]: How is life?
[0:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Give us the update.
[0:40] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yes, life is good.
[0:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Fresh off of a vacay, so I feel refreshed and rejuvenated at least for now, but everything's been really good.
[0:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I feel like we've been on the move and just having fun and summertime Chicago is undefeated.
[0:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I stand by that.
[0:56] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's what part of what makes it the best city.
[0:59] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But yeah, everything is really good.
[1:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I cannot complain at all and you know, just been living life and it's nice to kind of be.
[1:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know, not the ones, everyone's focused on.
[1:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So that feels good too.
[1:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, I didn't very well forgot.
[1:14] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Season 18 just hit Netflix, I think.
[1:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So it's like a whole new, reliving the whole thing all over again because people watch it like it didn't happen two years ago or something.
[1:23] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah.
[1:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And literally almost three years ago, Tain in August, we're gonna be coming up on our third year, or like three years, we're in, yes.
[1:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So.
[1:33] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That is crazy though.
[1:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's it definitely is a whole new wave of people watching it and it's there first time seeing it and you know so all the emotions are fresh again and all of that so that's been it's that's been kind of crazy too and a lot of people I think because of the Netflix thing actually.
[1:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We've been getting recognized again a lot more in the whole new wave.
[1:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And so just in our trip that we just took, I would say we got recognized more in those four days, then we have probably the last six months combined, you know, like the airport and even at the resort, but it's fun.
[2:08] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I mean, I'm so glad I feel so blessed.
[2:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, you know, out of everything we could be getting.
[2:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's a piece of cake.
[2:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's all love and so I appreciate that.
[2:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, and it's probably also the halo effect of season 20.
[2:23] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It has finally done what I wanted it to do when he went to peacock because it didn't happen last season.
[2:30] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And everybody, like everybody is like, I'm watching Marita first time for the first time.
[2:35] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Oh, I heard this.
[2:35] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm watching Marita first time.
[2:36] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Which is great, like I said before, but it's just like sometimes you got into the lore.
[2:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You got to know the history.
[2:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Don't just come in there.
[2:44] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We've been there.
[2:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Exactly.
[2:46] \[SPEAKER_01\]: The beginning.
[2:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And in the trenches, we know how far it's come.
[2:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah.
[2:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I agree.
[2:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think it was perfect time.
[2:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know, peacocks part two because just coming off a little island.
[2:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That obviously has some big viewing.
[2:59] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I think, like, all right.
[3:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Well, what am I going to watch now?
[3:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And that's been the next segue for people.
[3:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I wonder if that plays a part two.
[3:08] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, and this is the first actual peacock season because last season was filmed for lifetime.
[3:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So it was still fitting things and everyone felt like that was so quick.
[3:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: What happened?
[3:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So yeah, it felt really, really catchy and or you know, just kind of felt a little more thrown together where this is giving you know a whole comprehensive planned out.
[3:30] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, we're seeing the new DNA of married efforts sites so we're gonna jump into the episode But before we do just as you know Camille was mentioning like for the season 18 that came up with Netflix If you're interested, I did have an interview with Michelle
[3:44] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And it is up, you can go check that out.
[3:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And guys, I know you're just watching it now, but the time has passed.
[3:50] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Reflections have been done.
[3:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So it's fun to listen and go listen to here, her side of the story and everything with that from season 18.
[3:59] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I also have Clara from season 12.
[4:02] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So you can always check that out.
[4:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And there's a whole bunch of other interviews from people from other seasons.
[4:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: and also patreon.com slash taint talks.
[4:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You can check out bonus episodes.
[4:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I am running a special 50% of your first month all through the time that match the streaming which is to like August 27 and there are different tiers.
[4:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: There's video, there's many day fiancee, there's documentaries, there's the
[4:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: The polygamous does a lot.
[4:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So, and we're chatting about maps because half of us can't believe what we're watching and we're out there and you can be a free member.
[4:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You don't have to pay.
[4:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You can be a free member.
[4:33] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You can participate in the chats like it's all love.
[4:35] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's just for the love of, you know, reality TV and maps.
[4:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So go check it out at patreon.com slash taint talks.
[4:42] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Okay, now I can ask you, what do you think of this new season that is like the direction that you're going towards so far based on the episodes that we've watched?
[4:56] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, I feel like I have so many thoughts.
[4:59] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Oh, just format the people what we're seeing.
[5:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But all in all, I actually really like it.
[5:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I was not necessarily convinced
[5:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Last season, like I, you know, I liked the PI.
[5:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I had no problem with the people anything like that, but it did just feel a little Chocolate year, yeah, a chocolate year.
[5:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And so I do like how things are moving.
[5:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's funny because, you know, I always say when you're watching yourself, you like the fillers stuff, and you like, you know, when you know all the people personally, you like to see all the little bits and the lead up and everything, but I do
[5:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: definitely appreciate now at the beginning, just filtering out a lot of that fluffy stuff and just write into it.
[5:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, so I've been appreciating that and I do kind of like the group settings stuff.
[5:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think that, you know, I'm still feeling the experts out.
[5:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I really, really like Paul.
[5:56] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[6:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: is she's growing on me and I think I just have to get used to her personality.
[6:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It really hurts.
[6:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Now watching on video and making faces, that's what I'm sorry.
[6:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Go ahead.
[6:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, it's, you know, I just have to keep seeing more from her and I think that
[6:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's just different.
[6:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think her personalities a lot different from any expert that we've had before.
[6:28] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, something that's part of it too.
[6:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So yeah, all in all though, I'm feeling it.
[6:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I like it.
[6:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: There's a little bit of me that's, I think gonna always mourn the old maps of it because it's just so, you know, there's 18 seasons before it switched over.
[6:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So you got used to people in the way they went about things.
[6:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So there's a little bit of that,
[6:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: from just a reality TV standpoint, I'm getting into this season.
[6:56] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, yeah, I agree with you.
[6:58] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I think, I've said this over and over.
[7:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's just, you said it perfectly.
[7:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Morning, what was and accepting what is now?
[7:07] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's different, there's nothing we can do about it and it's just like leaning into the entertainment, but I miss the fact that the stakes don't seem so high enough.
[7:17] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Well, let me ask you, do you think the marriage is illegally binding?
[7:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That is such a good question.
[7:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't know.
[7:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Part of me is almost leaning towards no, but I have nothing to base that off of, but I just feel like if they're basing the show, if there's some similar, I actually have never watched UK or Australia.
[7:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I heard that they're basing it off of that.
[7:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I feel like I did hear that they don't.
[7:43] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, get legally married.
[7:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And they're on the other one.
[7:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I wouldn't be surprised if anything.
[7:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I almost feel like it would help the show out, not having to help coordinate divorces and even just getting the marriage certificate and all that.
[7:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That was a whole thing, just like that.
[8:01] \[SPEAKER_00\]: If anything, it just makes them easier.
[8:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And then it's not like they have to disclose one way or another to the viewers.
[8:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So.
[8:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't know, but it definitely, the old mass was giving a little more wholesome, I would say, in a way out of all the reality shows.
[8:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I think that's probably where we're going to start getting away from a little bit.
[8:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But we'll see, I mean, there's some wholesomeness on this season.
[8:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So
[8:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: at least a whole couple or at least one for sure.
[8:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: At least one for sure.
[8:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, I think saying like I don't think they're, you know, legally binding.
[8:33] \[SPEAKER_01\]: The only because and my proof was like the threat, Pascal always used to say the only way out is divorce.
[8:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I mean, we're not hearing that.
[8:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: There's not a lot of emphasis on that and that's fine.
[8:46] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And yes, I do watch Australia and
[8:49] \[SPEAKER_01\]: it's not a legally binding marriage, but the thing is they never say that.
[8:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's just we know that.
[8:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So I think that's the same thing.
[8:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They're not bound to tell us or say anything.
[8:58] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I think that if there were marriage licenses, someone would have found it by now.
[9:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[9:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's true.
[9:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That is true.
[9:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: There's people that like to do there.
[9:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: They do know that it's in their research investigating, yes.
[9:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So that's my great show, you too.
[9:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, and I think the only difference like I am fine with the format because again I've said I've told people the Australia dinner parties and the group sessions are my favorite parts and Australia comes on four times a week and the only differences that they have 11 couples because four or three more couples come halfway through.
[9:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: and they make them come in, they make the older people attend their weddings and it says it gives them that rejuvenation or that competitiveness, which we're kind of seeing in the U.S., whether they like to say it or not, they're being competitive and comparing themselves, which I've struggled with in the past, when people say mingling and math, I'm like, oh,
[9:50] \[SPEAKER_01\]: people are gonna say we're not at the same level, but again, I have to just accept it is what it is.
[9:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So maybe it gives you a kick in the pants to want to do that, but it's too much.
[10:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like even the funny moon won't meet up in another meet-up, in another dinner, in another, then you focus on other people.
[10:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: 100%.
[10:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I definitely had that down in my notes when we get to some of the couples in unpack.
[10:14] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You would dinner a little bit.
[10:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I definitely wrote that down in particular about one couple that I think it's easy to feel like you should be at that place, but when it's not looking a little further, sometimes it's just, yeah, they're only resting in that, you know.
[10:35] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, and then with the experts, I do very vocal passes not doing it for me.
[10:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She seems too happy to be on TV like she's on there too.
[10:44] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I'm like, I don't need that from my expert.
[10:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I need my expert to be even killed.
[10:48] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I hate for it to sound like, oh, I'm supporting a man.
[10:50] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But I am more familiar with Paul.
[10:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He has been doing this.
[10:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He sees his podcast too.
[10:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He's so like calming and he seems like he's speaking with intent and Pass just seems to like yes everything.
[11:02] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He says like what do you think and then the whole expert session with Devon and Katelyn that was it for me I'm like I can't
[11:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, that was kind of tough to watch.
[11:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I think, at least from what we've seen so far up to episode seven, he is just offering a little more of the, yeah, therapy or, you know, a little more help and let's unpack this and getting behind this versus, you know, it could be an editing thing.
[11:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's I think that's what I'm trying to, yeah, a little bit of grace is, uh,
[11:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I know for a fact they're probably having these like 45-minute-long sessions and we only see a few minutes.
[11:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So maybe they're only keeping her adlycves and like her co-signs and things like Adlyc, I'm like this no way that could be their whole conversation but yeah at least from what we've seen.
[11:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah until now, he is just providing a lot more guidance.
[11:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It feels like.
[11:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So that's why I like him a lot.
[11:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[11:58] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I wonder why they went down to two.
[12:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like even with three, it didn't seem like enough, and sometimes it needed two people.
[12:05] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So to go down to two with more couples, I don't understand that, and that was very interesting.
[12:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I was hoping they would keep Dr. Pia, but I think from a video past a call brought out, I just think maybe they were not in tune with the direction.
[12:21] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That is going in all that, so that makes sense.
[12:23] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Okay.
[12:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Alright, let's dive in and start with Marissa and Adam.
[12:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: This is our surface couple where I keep thinking, is it so bad?
[12:33] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They just started, you know, maybe that's where they are and they'll progress, because sometimes if you get so intense and get so serious,
[12:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: you're just like, it's too much and people forget that we're all different.
[12:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, some people like to have the deep conversations and needy this works for them.
[12:49] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And even if they don't progress in there in the shallow, that's for them.
[12:56] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So he's making your grilled cheese sandwich and I'm surprised.
[13:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I thought making cheese was poison.
[13:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: What do we do it?
[13:02] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, what's happening?
[13:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It better be freshly grated from the farmers market.
[13:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yes, block of cheese.
[13:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I better not see one, you know, yellow, seven or whatever.
[13:13] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The red five.
[13:17] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I know.
[13:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So they talk about, and that's the thing we keep saying that they're shallow, but then they have splices of conversations where they get to know each other.
[13:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And they talk about if they would have dated in college, this man, this sin.
[13:30] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He's like, I would have hit,
[13:37] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But she laughs because that's all she does and I think that is the issue with them is that she's going along just to get along and we'll get further where you know he mentions that he tells her that oh he's always wanted to be married since he was 18 and yes he says this yes his friends said this in episode one but you know when you say things enough it could become true but nothing about this man this is a man who didn't want to make a phone call.
[14:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So I mean, I don't know how to reconcile both things, you know, together with what we know of him.
[14:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So she tells him that she feels like he's mature.
[14:14] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I'm like,
[14:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Okay.
[14:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's nice.
[14:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He says like he's a relationship kind of guy and then she asks for wine.
[14:23] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He's like, oh, don't move.
[14:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm going to pour it for you.
[14:26] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And then he asks, like, did you think you'll be difficult?
[14:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Because I don't drink because I sure as hell thought it was going to be a thing.
[14:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And just like, no, that she thought, you know, you'll actually be good for her.
[14:36] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And to his credit, it doesn't seem to be a problem.
[14:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I fully
[14:44] \[SPEAKER_01\]: but it's not being a thing.
[14:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So, you know, I agree.
[14:47] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'd thought, yeah, I feel like I dated a guy once who didn't drink and that was such it was like, I just thought it was going to be concerned.
[14:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And when I say date, it was like a couple dates, but I do remember thinking and maybe I was building it up to a more thing.
[15:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Whereas a lot of times, if people make it like made that decision to not drink,
[15:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's not they're also not a hermit at home, you know, they've gotten used to going out and still can have a good time.
[15:13] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And as I get older, I see a lot more of the possibility of that too.
[15:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, yeah, go out and not have to have some drinks to have a good time.
[15:22] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, I think it was just a way to present it him.
[15:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like he was just like, I've treated people to be athletes.
[15:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, oh, you don't do that.
[15:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Poison your body.
[15:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So it was 100% the whole.
[15:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It was the combo of things.
[15:33] \[SPEAKER_00\]: If someone were the different personality type, at least from what we've seen was saying they didn't drink.
[15:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[15:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: At that point when he said, it was like, oh, brother, this guy, you know, it's just one more thing that adds to it.
[15:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And so that's easy.
[15:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think showing up a little differently as time goes on versus who we first saw at the beginning.
[15:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I think
[15:59] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's to his benefit.
[16:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: When you present someone with the bars on the floor, the only way up is up.
[16:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So we expect that the worst from him, so we're like, oh, okay, do that for us.
[16:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You hit the nail on the head.
[16:13] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I swear, I, yes, his reputation.
[16:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I didn't even know the man.
[16:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It was in the toilet.
[16:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: For me, when I first started watching, I'm like, a no way.
[16:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And he hasn't played a piano.
[16:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So that's good, too.
[16:26] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm like, sorry.
[16:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So I did notice that they are drinking from, they're how gullets, but they're like, this black little metal cups that I'm like, oh, are they trying to be like, love his blind where there's his gold, but like they could have chosen like a better color from mass, come on, they just gave us plain black.
[16:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I think like also for production's sake, I know from watching way too much reality TV, sometimes they don't like the clear stuff for continuity's sake.
[16:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So like if the alcohol is like a certain level, the conversation is happening, so I think that's what they're going for, but I'm just like, because I see the cups later on and I'm like, please choose another color, give us something fun, you know?
[17:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: If you're right, we're gonna do that.
[17:08] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Okay, so Marissa says like they're in the honeymoon phase and it's like they're being, she's asking him, are we being the most honest and transparent?
[17:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I'm like, that is a good question because everyone's asking that, so it's good that you guys are asking that.
[17:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And like I said, I keep going back and forth because I do think that they talk about stuff but they do keep things like and breezy and it's less pressure.
[17:34] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I want to point out that I just realized I'm just clocking that it's now six weeks, not eight weeks for them.
[17:42] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Somewhere along the episode, I saw five weeks left or something and I'm like, wait, what?
[17:46] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's just been one week.
[17:48] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So, I don't know.
[17:49] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And as I got it wrong, that's what I clocked.
[17:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But you guys let me know if I read that wrong.
[17:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But that's more pressure.
[17:56] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like six weeks?
[17:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I know.
[17:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I didn't, I don't think I noticed that either.
[18:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, so yeah, so maybe they're just keeping things light, but also they don't have time.
[18:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So, but, you know, on the flip side, right, the six weeks, eight weeks doesn't have to be the end.
[18:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You can still explore things afterwards, and if it doesn't work, it doesn't work.
[18:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So, yeah, 100%.
[18:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: He says,
[18:21] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Do you think you could be sending it harder?
[18:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: This is Mr. Vibes guy.
[18:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So this is language and this is like sending it harder.
[18:29] \[SPEAKER_01\]: The last time I heard like send it, I think it was like summer house or something.
[18:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So it's just his lingo and he says sometimes, you know, he'll so they'll suggest something which I think is production.
[18:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And she just goes along with it because she's nice.
[18:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like he doesn't know what she's really thinking.
[18:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Again, bars on the floor, but I think that's good for him to notice and point out.
[18:50] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, I thought he was just basking in the glory of, oh, I have a wife who does whatever I want.
[18:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's 100%.
[18:56] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But he notices.
[18:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So what are you going to do about it?
[18:59] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So in the fact that he bread it up.
[19:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But again, he didn't bring it up the way we've seen husbands bring it up in the past.
[19:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Where they're like, whoa, you're a scholar.
[19:08] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Well, you don't have a mind of your, like, it could be meaner.
[19:10] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It can.
[19:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm not giving him credit for the bare minimum.
[19:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's just, again, PTSD from all the horrible husbands that we've seen that I think like he at least brought it up and mentioned it and she says she wants to see what he's going to do because she finds himself fascinating.
[19:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So still she gives us nothing.
[19:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I know, I agree.
[19:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I can't quite put my finger on them.
[19:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm with you.
[19:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think that there is just a delicate balance, especially in a situation like this, of wanting to keep things fun and light.
[19:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But then, you know, like you said, I guess there is always a chance that, you know, you just say yes at the end and see where things go after that.
[19:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But I don't know that I feel like you just have to have a little bit of a balance where you can, I don't know that it serves both parties best to only keep it light and so yeah, I go back and forth on them.
[20:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I definitely think that
[20:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Which we'll get into it a little more later at the party, but you know, there is just this element of I don't know if I really know who either of them is and because it's stayed so service level and there is, you know, kind of the just everything feels like a joke a little bit so it's hard to really see what's under the surface or if they are really going to gel on.
[20:36] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And it sounds bad, and in conversations with people, I'm like, this is the only kind of wife he would get along with.
[20:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I agree.
[20:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, I've been so curious about that.
[20:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I guess the viewers got lucky in a way.
[20:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Everyone got lucky in this scenario that this is someone he actually had, like, what a panpicked and almost did.
[21:01] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know, he went up here.
[21:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: They have that history.
[21:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yes.
[21:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I am so curious how this man would have showed up if it was someone he wasn't attracted to or like, didn't, yes, it wasn't good enough.
[21:14] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't know, I was so, I was so thinking that was gonna be his trajectory.
[21:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But yes, that's what I don't.
[21:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah.
[21:21] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Then we would have seen the guy that we thought that he was going to be.
[21:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I keep wondering if he had got like a Courtney what the heck that would have been and what would have happened.
[21:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So, but then it would be the flip because she would have been attracted to him, but that's another conversation.
[21:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Apparently, yeah, we'll have to get there.
[21:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: For that.
[21:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: All right, guys, we'll take a quick break and we'll be back for the couple's dinner.
[21:44] \[SPEAKER_01\]: All right, the first official couple's dinner of math season 20.
[21:50] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I've told you guys before, math Australia comes on four times a week.
[21:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: The dinners are Wednesdays.
[21:56] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I always say if you ever get into math Australia, even if you don't watch any of the other episodes,
[22:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: you have to watch the dinners.
[22:02] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's where all the thing happens.
[22:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They have the cocktail hour.
[22:05] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They have drinks for them.
[22:07] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They expert to watching before they go into the dinner.
[22:10] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And that's what happens here.
[22:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So it's where everyone has to talk about their relationship and other people judge it and it clothe the drama between the couples on and off camera comes out.
[22:21] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And it's a big deal when the couples come in hand and hand.
[22:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I don't, it's supposed to be just normal, but whenever they're coming hand and hand is like, yeah, that's a big deal.
[22:30] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So most of them, even when they're fighting, try to come in hand and hand, so they can pretend like, oh, we're great.
[22:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But you know, you can always tell.
[22:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We see Michelle and Cameron.
[22:42] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They're all just getting ready for the dinner.
[22:44] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They're all close it up saying like, oh, with a second oldest couple, we have to set the standard.
[22:49] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Sean is preaching as usual.
[22:51] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Talk about if our relationship will survive this, we have to withstand the other young boring stuff.
[22:59] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I don't know why he can't just talk normally.
[23:02] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like everything
[23:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Oh, it fully pays excited for the tea.
[23:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Tori is saying how, you know, she's an avoidant in romantic relationships and she had anxiety when they had sex.
[23:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I will say that this was kind of anti-comactic after how the previous episode ended.
[23:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, that was a big, big deal.
[23:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, she left.
[23:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She was suffocating in the room and she was doing this.
[23:30] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And then, okay, we're going to dinner.
[23:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Wait.
[23:33] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I agree.
[23:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think I thought for sure they were going to start with that and it was going to be more of a thing and you know even through out the episode which will get to but I don't know that I ever really circle back to what the route of the issue was even down to you know did I feel like I was getting to close this made me too close to him and I wasn't ready or like you know it I had bad experiences in the past or like it just like
[24:01] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It made her want to run but like why or you know what actually was she feeling in that moment other than I know we we know she felt this urge to flight or for flight, but you know just unpacking that a little more I don't know that we have a really got kind of what the room to that.
[24:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, and I think.
[24:22] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It just seemed important to dive into that deeper, because I feel like I believed, not like she was lying.
[24:30] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I believed, I understood what she was trying to say.
[24:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I think when we've seen how controlled she is on everything and just like, I'm buttoned up, I don't know all this, and then she's opening up and being vulnerable and she had sex and she's like, oh my God, what have I done?
[24:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But I think unpacking it a lot more to be like, is it because it was on camera?
[24:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Are you worried about, you know, you're so private, other people are gonna see what you've done.
[24:51] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And also just making sure that we clarify that it's not anything he did when she keeps saying it was too soon.
[24:58] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She initiated it.
[24:59] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yes, but at this point we don't know that.
[25:02] \[SPEAKER_01\]: All we knew is that that happened and she's like it was too soon.
[25:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Why did I do that?
[25:05] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And making sure like it's not anything he did.
[25:07] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I know she said that, but it's just clarifying, going deeper, saying more about that.
[25:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: No, we can close the page on that.
[25:14] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But just easy,
[25:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: intense.
[25:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I guess, but one piece I can't add to that devil's advocate is, you know, this show does do a good job of making something that didn't seem to be as big a deal, a huge deal.
[25:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So it was, you know, kind of this dramatic editing thing at the end of the episode, but
[25:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: maybe it really was something that they're just, you know, we're working through and it was fine, you know, I just had this one moment, but I'm back like I never left there or whatever.
[25:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It could be how it is to them, but we as a viewer just kind of feel like we, you know, miss something.
[25:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, something got left off the table.
[25:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's true because she did say, I knew the process would be hard, but I'm working through it on my end with him.
[26:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So, you know,
[26:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Megan says that he is being more affectionate but if he doesn't initiate a kiss then they won't kiss the whole day in this couple they're getting ready.
[26:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They love looking good.
[26:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They love showing up as a couple.
[26:14] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They don't love doing the things that you supposed to do as a couple but they love to show people that they are a good couple.
[26:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So that's the good way they are.
[26:22] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Nick is like, oh, I can't wait.
[26:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We're going to start seeing some cracks.
[26:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm like the
[26:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: he says that he's okay with where they are physically, he's talking to Courtney at this point and asked her like, you know, was that a thing with your previous relationships?
[26:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Because this man has been trying to ask this question from their expert session, but they would not let him, between past and Courtney going 5,000 miles a minute, he could ask this question and he couldn't get an answer and he said, I don't know a damn thing about your previous relationships and it was so confused at the expert session.
[27:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Um, he says for example, like they've known each other for a week and he asked like, you know, in a year, if he had dated someone, she cuts him off.
[27:08] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We never know the end of that question because she cuts him off.
[27:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She's like, I'm not going to make you hold out.
[27:14] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm not going to make you hold out in the sex where like a year or something.
[27:17] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He's like, I'm not even talking about sex.
[27:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, can I land?
[27:21] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, let me tell you.
[27:23] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And again, she doesn't let him finish.
[27:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She's like, I just, I just haven't had the best experience.
[27:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You know, when he comes to the sexual side of a relationship and that's why it's harder, the man just said, it's not about sex.
[27:35] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Let him ask the question.
[27:37] \[SPEAKER_01\]: he tries to talk again, she cuts him off again.
[27:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And she's like, this is so embarrassing, like I don't want to talk about it.
[27:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And then he says, okay, all I'm trying to say is like in all your relationships, like in his relationships, he holds hands, he puts arms around the ways.
[27:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He just wants to know in her past relationships, like, and then he's like, wait, have you had a long-term relationship?
[27:58] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Because honestly, he has to ask.
[28:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I know nothing.
[28:01] \[SPEAKER_00\]: He's like, he literally knows nothing.
[28:05] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She says yes I have but then I wouldn't say they were meaningful like maybe a year or two and like a lot of things Courtney says she says a lot of words, but they're just filler they are nothing yeah I kind of wrote that down with her it's
[28:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Just really difficult because yes, I think, you know, her brain is clearly going a mile a minute like overdrive, but then, you know, her along with, I just feel like we see it with the few people on the show and just people on the show in general, I feel like people kind of come in and will nitpick their relationship and what it doesn't have and what they're not feeling and kind of it's like they're chasing this
[28:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: thing that they've had before quote unquote but then when you unpack those relationships those weren't good either you know so it's kind of like this you know element of I know what I should be feeling by now but what is that based off of nothing that was healthy clearly you know we start to hear a little bit more of her background and
[29:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think we're all guilty of doing that chasing some feeling, but when you really sit back and think what is that feeling?
[29:10] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah.
[29:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It was surrounded by, you know, she goes on to say, this, like, she was treated all poorly in these relationships.
[29:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So,
[29:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: For that to kind of be the standard, I feel like ends up being so unfair to these folks partners, yeah, you know, then they're chasing something that isn't even ideal to begin with so I definitely wrote that down is I just kind of like, you know, what is she searching for does she really know there's like this element of, yeah, I came here because I want to be married and I want a partnership, but without really having any kind of like,
[29:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't know.
[29:47] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We could get into this later too.
[29:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I just think everyone needs therapy.
[29:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I've done therapy.
[29:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I love it.
[29:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know, that's why I come from a place of like help yourself.
[29:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know, like because it's.
[30:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We're all dealing with something and it's just the show highlights so much.
[30:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Everyone's deepest relationship issues.
[30:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, and even besides the show, I tell people that.
[30:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm like, married reminds you that you and shit, maybe.
[30:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, no, literally, literally like in some way or another, all of us ain't shit.
[30:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And we have to figure out why and where and what that comes from.
[30:26] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Because otherwise someone else is just going to suffer.
[30:28] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I feel like that's literally all I'm seeing in this relationship.
[30:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Again, it's not like Nick's perfect either, but, you know, I've had my reservations a little bit just because of the previous show stuff anyway, but this is just a classic case of, you know, self sabotage over thinking and again, just like kind of unfair unrealistic standards or expectations.
[30:51] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, and it's also a reminder that she was cast for entertainment.
[30:56] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like you can't, there's no way you saw her.
[30:59] \[SPEAKER_01\]: The first word she told us was, I'm crazy.
[31:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And maybe I am the problem.
[31:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And you're like, you know what, you, you're getting mad.
[31:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She's cast her, you're buying her up.
[31:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So there's that and I think like her like laying all the onus on Nick like she doesn't have anything to work on and that was my disappointment with the expert session was not really letting her like you have to be mindful of the things you say and this is before I went watch this episode and this episode every time
[31:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Does January 6th deny your open-air mouth?
[31:30] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm just, he got worse.
[31:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He got worse every single time.
[31:33] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, stop it.
[31:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I really been trying to stay invested ever since I heard that.
[31:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I try to keep it objective, and this was, but she lost me a little bit from day one.
[31:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But that's, you know.
[31:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yes.
[31:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yes.
[31:46] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yes.
[31:46] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yes.
[31:46] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I know.
[31:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's just, you're ready on thin ice.
[31:49] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And now you're just breaking all the ice.
[31:50] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, just fall through.
[31:51] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, you're not doing anything to help here.
[31:53] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah.
[31:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Um, yeah, so I wish Pass had just told her like, you know, while you're trying, you just have to be mindful like everything you think doesn't have to come out your mouth, you know, that might have been, you know, good advice for that.
[32:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So, um, she says her first love, she was so needy.
[32:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She wanted to be his main, like even if he cheated, it was going to be fine.
[32:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She was still going to stay.
[32:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And he's like, I'm so confused.
[32:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, so did you get cheated on?
[32:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And she's like, yeah, I thought I told you.
[32:23] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And she just gets mad and she's just irritated, um, by him.
[32:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And she's like, yeah, I got you in on and I let it happen.
[32:30] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So she says, when you love, you do dumb things, like, you know, love is bright.
[32:34] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And Nick, actually, open this mouth to say, that's Netflix.
[32:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah.
[32:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I know.
[32:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Why?
[32:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think it goes back to still, just like, the surface level banter that they're having, like, that's, you know, what it still goes back to in this moment, or, you know, the bringing it back to something like that, like,
[32:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: light-heartedness, I guess.
[32:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So let me ask you, at this point, do you think Nick likes her?
[33:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Where do you think Nick stands with her?
[33:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Because I know she doesn't like him.
[33:05] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Nick is lying through his mouth, but what do you think before I say what I think?
[33:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, I think I definitely think the man has been on a few shows, so he kind of knows what to say,
[33:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I started really peeping at this episode where it's just, you know, when he's in his interviews and OTA, you know, as little side interviews and things like that, you'll hear him say like we're doing great, we're really progressing and, you know, we really have a great time.
[33:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We around each other and we like each other and all of that, but then.
[33:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know, when we actually was almost like, are we watching the same thing?
[33:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And again, I'm trying to hold space for, we obviously don't see a lot of it.
[33:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, but whatever they're together, it's like, it's not a fun interaction, it's not.
[33:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I don't, I think she kind of has this like, I don't know if you call it sarcasm, that's her version of humor, but it really does not land with me or, you know, I don't get it at all.
[34:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And so it comes off as kind of like,
[34:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: rude.
[34:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Oh yeah, I mean, I'm like, so I don't know.
[34:13] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I guess I've taken the approach like if you like said I love it, but I don't, I don't know that I have faith in either side, really being invested in it.
[34:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[34:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, I don't know.
[34:26] \[SPEAKER_00\]: He seems like a nice guy, but yeah, I'll never be able to not think about the fact that he's been on a bunch of shows before, so how can I really trust what he says.
[34:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't know.
[34:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I got trusted she's with him and I didn't even met the main point.
[34:42] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yes, I don't think he likes her.
[34:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I don't think they have any chemistry whether or not she's not us.
[34:50] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, but whatever she says, it's just not there.
[34:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And what I can get over is that he lives in Austin.
[34:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They're not saying it.
[34:59] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They're not mentioning it.
[35:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: What are you getting in that?
[35:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And you did, I heard that on one of your previous episodes too.
[35:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And yeah, that itself, I'm like, every time I, yes, you're so right.
[35:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And whenever I think about that, it's like, okay, this is on serious anyways.
[35:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Then it was never really, and who's, who do I need to blame for that?
[35:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, why is he on this, you know, if anything, yeah, little closer, but Seattle to Austin, I'm like,
[35:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know, was it a peacock that reached out to him?
[35:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Was he kind of like, you know, putting feelers out, like, keep me in mind for another show?
[35:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Or, I don't like, did he apply?
[35:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't know.
[35:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But yeah, that's automatically, if you want to kind of maintain some of that integrity of, you know, the authenticity and, you know, people really coming on here to find love.
[35:47] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That I just, I don't know that.
[35:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, he was the right person to cast in general.
[35:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: No matter how he decided to show up, it was just that paints a picture for people I think yes that has been my question.
[36:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I was like, okay fine.
[36:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Let's say we're getting a reality star to get things going.
[36:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's great.
[36:05] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We'll find why him.
[36:07] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's just a question I've been asking like even people who have watched Nick on a show don't remember him.
[36:14] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I was gonna say, I've never, granted, I don't really watch any of the shows that he's been on, like perfect match and stuff like that.
[36:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I actually never really have gotten into and I can't remember the other one he was on.
[36:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I haven't, I haven't seen him to be there.
[36:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So yeah, even more so it is like the principle of it for me.
[36:30] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, yeah, I understand that, but I'm just like, if they wanted hype, I mean, he's everywhere.
[36:35] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He's in every comment section.
[36:37] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He's like, every people that's just responding, liking, right.
[36:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And in court near doing whatever videos of the honeymoon, and that's the whole other casting.
[36:46] \[SPEAKER_01\]: This is the current cast is their their social media a lot.
[36:50] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Okay.
[36:50] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Um, yeah.
[36:51] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So, oh, I forgot to mention guys, well mentioned later.
[36:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We're talking about Sean being on
[36:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And we're looking for his costs a listener sent it to me, but I'll find it because I want to give a shout out to the person is forty dollars guys, but yeah, but yeah, it's not just Nick, but I think because Nick has been on TV his is more, you know, standing out.
[37:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So it gets silent and Caitlin is like, not not Caitlin Courtney Courtney is like, you know, I hate silence is we have to talk.
[37:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm like, oh god.
[37:21] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Oh, yeah, that's a lot.
[37:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I mean, Nick is like, on his question, she's like, go for it.
[37:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Do you think you're ready for romantic relationships?
[37:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And that was a good question.
[37:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Because again, and like people take that as a dig, or you know, her answer was like, of course otherwise I wouldn't be here, and like people always say that on the show, but it's a difference between, like, sure, again, it goes back to like, you can want a relationship all you want.
[37:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But,
[37:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yes, do you actually feel prepared for that?
[37:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And so instead of like, tenseing right up and going to the defense, it's, you know, there's a reason he's asking that.
[37:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: People don't ask people that who are showing up to the table and like meeting them halfway and I don't know.
[38:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It was a very badly question to me.
[38:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I think that it was at that moment, Nick and you, he's saying no, on decision day.
[38:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I just think like you can't after going through that expert session that felt like the Twilight Zone and then you're going through this trying to have a conversation She will let you talk just cutting you off just telling you all the things that you know have been difficult which you know I feel empathy for her, but it's like you have to work through those things to get into a healthy relationship Because you're just gonna continue to those patterns if you haven't dealt with them.
[38:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So I think you knew this wasn't gonna
[38:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Last so yeah and do something different from your norm I think that I'm going to to a few people on this cast and probably on every season like again to come in and kind of expect that you're going to be able to show up the same way you always have or do things the same and.
[38:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And you know, it goes back to that treating this like dating, yeah, it just never serves people well because you're going to fall back into old habits.
[39:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So whether it's avoidance or being anxious and you know, oh, thinking like that it takes a conscious choice to not fall back into the patterns and always done.
[39:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, and even that like the
[39:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know, I hate silence kind of like, yeah, there it's, there's a little bit of empathy if anything because it's just to me that's just someone who is so not at peace and so like uneasy just in life.
[39:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I love me a little silence and again, it's like if we're just in it, if we're just, you know, that's a good thing you where you want to get to and there's still strangers but you want to get to that point where you're with your partner and it's okay if you guys are just sitting in the same room not saying anything or watching TV and or you know,
[39:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's okay to have the silence.
[39:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So it's just everything about the poor girl screams, just, yeah, an easy anxious, just in a lot to unpack.
[40:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And again, yeah, the show is just always going to bring that to the forefront.
[40:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, and it's also a little bit of selfishness to me because yes, you hate silence.
[40:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: What if he likes silence?
[40:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Why don't you adjust to that?
[40:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Some people when you say stuff, they need a moment to just kind of think of, okay, what do we just say before they say their next thing?
[40:21] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You use to just say whatever it is that you think, forgetting about the other person.
[40:26] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And Nixon's like, you know, he's just silent either that or he's too stunned to speak.
[40:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah.
[40:33] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But yeah, you hate silence.
[40:34] \[SPEAKER_01\]: This doesn't mean we have to do whatever you want.
[40:36] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like everything you do is necessarily right, you know, for you.
[40:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And if the things that we're doing were great, you wouldn't be here.
[40:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You're here.
[40:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We all have to have an element of that humility when we come on the show because no.
[40:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I was better than anyone because when we come on the show we are all single we are all literally starting in the same spot and you know clearly nothing we've done in the past has worked out so yeah you have to take that step back and have a piece of humble pie that we don't have it all figured out.
[41:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah exactly.
[41:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So when a confessional, um, she says, I am definitely coming here with baggage.
[41:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I was like, you don't say.
[41:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I came here because I wanted to be loved.
[41:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She wants him badly to understand that she thinks is great.
[41:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And she wants to be physical and wants this to work.
[41:23] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But there are barriers that need to be broken down in order for her to really know him.
[41:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Once that side of him comes out, the spark will be there.
[41:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm like, but mama, the barriers are from you, though.
[41:36] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You know, it's a him and him.
[41:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She keeps saying him.
[41:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He didn't do this.
[41:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He's boring.
[41:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He's not smart.
[41:42] \[SPEAKER_01\]: The him went to MIT.
[41:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I don't know what to tell you.
[41:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So, you know, and that's my frustration with her.
[41:49] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She's not taking accountability, her part.
[41:51] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And she keeps saying she's trying, but I have seen no ways in which she's trying.
[41:56] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So, I know, I have a piece when we get a little farther into the dinner to that speaks to that a little bit.
[42:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: All right.
[42:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We will actually get into the
[42:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: be right back in a second.
[42:08] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Okay.
[42:10] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Just like the Australian version, the experts are watching them, Paz and Paul are watching.
[42:14] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Paul is like, can't give me a little bit of volume in my ear.
[42:17] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, you're not in the studio.
[42:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Stop, full of bass in my ear.
[42:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They are explaining to us because, you know, this is the first time they're doing this, that the participants don't know that they're there and like, well, season 21.
[42:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Now, you know,
[42:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It takes five seconds before Paul says something and passes or you're like, yes, I did write that down I did write that round down that I did that's where I got a little bit of an element of her like she was here watching a show or you know it was like entertainment and again it could just be that at it and
[42:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: her personality is much different from any expert that's ever been on there.
[43:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And so I think it's that combo, but I definitely wrote that down.
[43:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like she is just yeah, so we'll get this lady her pot corn.
[43:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm like she is here for the tea and that's it.
[43:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yes, it is.
[43:14] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Guys, I'm trying.
[43:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I know I'm hard on her, but it's no care.
[43:17] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's just how I feel.
[43:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: If it changes the changes, that's how I feel now.
[43:22] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I guess they had left over candles and flowers from the weddings because the dinner had a lot of them just over there.
[43:29] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And we're not going to talk about Adam's outfit.
[43:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We're not because that's what he wants and I don't know what he's doing.
[43:35] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I don't even know how to describe it to be honest.
[43:37] \[SPEAKER_01\]: No, no.
[43:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It was giving like 60-year-old Hawaiian tourist, you know, like the what you see, like a character, almost.
[43:47] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yes.
[43:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm kind of tourist or I don't, I really don't know, but yes, to your point, it's just an
[43:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: with a hack guys and the feather or whatever he was talking about and passes like, oh, it almost feels like he's not taking this seriously.
[44:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Philippe and Tory come in.
[44:08] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I got to say, guys, um, they are a bit underdressed compared to I'm going to stop comparing to Australia, but that's my, you know, baseline now.
[44:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Oh, they get Australian stage dress to the nine for their dinner.
[44:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So this theme, like a little underdressed, but
[44:23] \[SPEAKER_01\]: do underdress so maybe we're just keeping to a culture so I guess I have the two quote unquote strongest couples come in which is Adam and Marissa and Philippe and Tori and in five seconds we get our first mention of Jetsky so I'm trying to drink in game
[44:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: be be careful and do a chicken drive.
[44:44] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Paul says that he's seeing that Adam makes the move to take control and that's what he's doing with this outfit that he's just trying to take control and be the center of attention with this and passes like yes.
[44:59] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They say, he's doing that, that instead of showing people what he's about or even asking, I will say this past did say this, like he doesn't even ask people what they're about.
[45:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's more about what he's about and I'm like, that is actually true.
[45:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's almost like he's scared of people knowing who he really is.
[45:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Doesn't he even know who he really is?
[45:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Question mark?
[45:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So Caitlyn comes in.
[45:22] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She says that she and Devon are in a better situation.
[45:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They've gotten closer and she recognizes that this is a better situation that she's been in in the past.
[45:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I can give her a problem for that because I'm just like,
[45:35] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You've got to recognize that.
[45:36] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You're like, you were in a relationship where you didn't care what you did.
[45:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, not it goes back to that point kind of of, yeah, just people, what you've come here for if you're not gonna try and do things a little differently or let go of that whatever standard you think you're chasing or, you know, but yeah, I think that would do a lot of people justice if you come in with a true clean slate and knowing that you have to change some things
[46:05] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, and I thought it would even be easier because when you have a start and end date, you have an end date, like you're just like if it's six weeks, eight weeks, whatever it is, it's like, I just need to give it my all for that.
[46:14] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And after that, you can go back to your bad habits, but in the meantime, while you're doing this, you might discover something new and better for you, you know?
[46:22] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Excellent.
[46:23] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So Nick and Courtney come in and she's like, let's practice physical touch, and then she grabs his hand.
[46:29] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We're holding hands, and then they walk in,
[46:33] \[SPEAKER_01\]: and passes like so excited.
[46:35] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So excited that they're holding hands.
[46:37] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She's like, they're like the dream team.
[46:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm like, okay, and Paul is like, yeah, but they dropped it really quickly.
[46:44] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They relax with silent, like, calm down.
[46:46] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Thank you.
[46:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Dream team.
[46:49] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Nicky walks in and she walks in alone.
[46:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And
[46:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We're going to get into Niki and Sean, there are a lot of things I'm tired of them, but guys, the one thing you can never take away from Niki is her Bob, Bob, Bob, he bobbing, honey, like it's great.
[47:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yes.
[47:07] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I just want to point out in the last episode, my guest, Raven and I were joking about the fact that when he went to look for her in the airport, when she stormed away, we were like, oh, she probably went into the Delta lounge and
[47:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: she couldn't get in.
[47:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And she posted on her stories during the day, she was at the airport, and she posted it herself in the Delta Lounge.
[47:26] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's not what we were seeing.
[47:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I don't by any means think she was listening to me.
[47:30] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I just thought it was so funny that we just said that.
[47:33] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I should say, oh good.
[47:35] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I was a member of the Delta Lounge, so that was funny.
[47:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And okay, it was Jane Kelly, shout out to Jane Kelly.
[47:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You can find out that.
[47:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Sean's Camille is $40, so those of you who are fans of Dr. Bests, they're nine spots left according to him, and you can pay $40 and get a lecture or sermon from him.
[47:56] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You know, they hyped everyone's, everyone is hyped, like, oh my god, she came in alone.
[48:02] \[SPEAKER_01\]: This is so bad, yada yada yada, and she's like, oh he had a work thing, he'll be here soon.
[48:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Paul is like, do me by that.
[48:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I believe that, I don't know.
[48:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Pass says I think they probably got into a conflict and of course she says we got into her fight and
[48:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: One thing you can guarantee when he comes to Nicky and Sean guys, we will always get a flashback because it's always a fight that we need to relive that we need to know about.
[48:29] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So we do see a flashback and Nicky and Sean had a double date with Mecca and Belgioli, A for the culture.
[48:37] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And we see a flashback selfie camera them.
[48:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They're so excited about it and she's like, oh, we had a conflict.
[48:44] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah.
[48:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She says they've been navigating it, they're still going to repeat, and it's not healthy, and their version of reality is just completely different.
[48:53] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I should pause and just ask you your thoughts on Sean and Nikki.
[48:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And he said, oh, over all, they are so, I guess it's intriguing to me because,
[49:13] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think they could work.
[49:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I don't think it was a big mismatch.
[49:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And it's not like a dig on Nicky.
[49:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think she's like fabulous.
[49:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And like, you know, gorgeous and so accomplished.
[49:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But I don't think there's this big drop off in, I don't think they played in her face, you know, with this match.
[49:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I see a lot of this course about that.
[49:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think they are both people showing up one, like many of us do on the show show why they're still single.
[49:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know, we just we all have our tendencies and our triggers and our kind of, you know, bad habits with relationships.
[49:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Sometimes I think the show is just highlighting that.
[49:59] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think they both kind of met their match in regards to, um,
[50:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, kind of getting that last word, I think just the things that have made them successful are also hurting them in this relationship and yeah, you just got to be able to turn that off.
[50:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And so I think, yeah, they're definitely just is that element of one upmanship and getting the last word and who's right.
[50:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And so they're frustrating in a way that.
[50:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know, it doesn't have to be as explosive as it is, I really don't think it has to even go there.
[50:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, but I also.
[50:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I might be alone on Island on this, but I also still see how it could work out and I'm not giving up hope just yet.
[50:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Because again, I think if they can kind of get past their communication issues, I think it could be great.
[50:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I think they could be, you know, a power couple, but with each episode, I don't know.
[51:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It goes down a little bit that hope that I have in this episode was.
[51:05] \[UNKNOWN\]: Yeah.
[51:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I want to see was not looking good for my girl.
[51:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I feel like at the end I was like, ooh, again, it might be the edit, but like, she was not looking great, especially the clothes out the episode.
[51:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yes.
[51:17] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I agree with you.
[51:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I do think you can work.
[51:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I just don't want to be part of their growing pains.
[51:23] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm tired of watching their growing pains.
[51:26] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I do think they're a victim of they are older and you're stuck in your ways and they have to get past, you know, all of that.
[51:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: then she asks for 250.
[51:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Now if he's in the 200 range, I think they can make a work.
[51:51] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I fear that if it's less, that is a big difference.
[51:56] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's my concern and it's like we can we see what happens when you just give people what they ask for, then you can work on that.
[52:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Marissa and Adam you gave Adam what he asked for so you can forgive I'm sure he was like oh no I'll call mac and cheese that but you know she's hot so then you can get past that but you give her like something that she didn't ask for and then she's already mad about that then you have to work on top of that it makes it harder that's where I felt they did her wrong and I feel like they kind of corner you into accepting
[52:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: that, like, don't tell her about the 64,000 average, but when it makes 250, 350, that is not, that's nothing to do with her.
[52:35] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So that's the only part, like I felt like they did wrong.
[52:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But we're here now and it's like, they both need to get out of their, each other's ways and their egos and all of that stuff.
[52:44] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So I'm with you.
[52:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It is, it is possible, I'm just, the journey there, I don't wanna be, let me off the train.
[52:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So yeah, it's gonna be a tough one.
[52:53] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah.
[52:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So Philippe shares with Nick, they're talking that, you know, he took time off weekend so he can have date night with his girl and Nick is like, oh, green flag, but you know the Nick is see thing in competitive jealousy because he already said that, you know, Philippe was going to be the worst he's going to be great and all that stuff.
[53:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He tells Nick like it's 99% good and Nick is like, what is the 1% I want to know the bad He says that you know, she's a guarded person and Nick is like, you know what I'm going to Similar boat like you know beloved you are not in fact in a similar boat like you're not he's like We're in the going in the right direction again.
[53:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: No you're not I don't know why Nick is obsessed with presenting a front that
[53:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: they're doing okay.
[53:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, that's where I kind of feel like it goes back to like the whole show thing and maybe the competitive spirit to you, you know, you mentioned him saying some of that stuff in the beginning and I had forgot about that, but you're so right where he.
[53:56] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know, not only did you say like fully fake was going to struggle the most, he also said something like I think I'm going to have the best marriage and like what even does that mean, you know, it's kind of it was just that like competitive statement like we're going to be number one.
[54:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We're going to get the gold medal.
[54:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[54:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like how what even would you gauge that off of.
[54:13] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I think there is probably that element to it, you know, you don't want to
[54:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: let people see sweat, don't want to let people know that you're struggling, but I mean, you have fooled us, we see all the stuff on the back end, you know, the other girls don't know the true ends and outs, but it is very interesting that either he's in a little delulu, in terms of how he's, you know,
[54:37] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Now we get you in there for your edge or it is just yeah trying to put that front on to stay in a in a higher spot Yeah, and two of his shows were like strategy shows where he did well in and the circle and the other one was a battle camp Where he's pretty good at you know things like that so that competitiveness is already showing and he's Probably treating it, you know the same this same way perfect matches a dating show he didn't do so well in that one So go figure
[55:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So Cameron and Michelle, who are the hope of the season, you know, some may call them boring, some is me too, but sometimes that's good and it works for them.
[55:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They walk in all nice and cozy and then Sean comes in and I will say, Sean is dressed up right.
[55:23] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Sean is, you know, dressed appropriately, you know, for the dinner and he greets all the guys first before he goes to Nikki and the experts clock that.
[55:33] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She focused on Mecca and Bell Jolie and the expert to like she clearly or doors him look at the way that he's looking at her like he seems reluctant We'll get to them.
[55:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I don't understand these two Tori is telling Michelle that she's an avoidant and she's like, oh, Cameron is the same way Courtney asked Marissa and she's like, oh, we're just in our honeymoon phase.
[55:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We're joking.
[55:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's what we're doing Nick is still lying and saying that him and Courtney's communication is and I quote
[56:02] \[SPEAKER_01\]: phenomenal.
[56:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's a good way to point, maybe it's all subjective, like, again, if it works for you great, but it's, there's, I don't know, I don't know.
[56:14] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Do you know what it reminds me of your season, actually?
[56:17] \[SPEAKER_01\]: David and Michelle, because when Michelle was like, all very truthful and David was like, you know, I like that, at least she's being honest.
[56:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I'm wondering if Nick is thinking like, you know, but we're quite nearly like, no one I'm getting and she's communicating.
[56:30] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So it's phenomenal to him.
[56:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But are you communicating?
[56:34] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Is it a one-sided communication?
[56:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, no, that seems to be a really good comparison.
[56:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, and I think, you know, then,
[56:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: when you relate it to that situation on our season, maybe then.
[56:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: you know, I could throw Nick a little line and say that it's a little bit of like hopeless optimism or something like that, too.
[56:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like maybe he really is being optimistic because I think that's kind of like where some of David's was coming from, or you know, like a glass half milk person and just like not the type to which I guess I could kind of see from Nick to like they're never going to be the type to really drag their partner or say like yeah, they're actually
[57:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah.
[57:17] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So Sean says, you know, men like structure and perspective is preaching again.
[57:22] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And when he offers, you know, to her, she sees it as untie, hit her perspective and then it just goes dark from there.
[57:29] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Flipi rings a bell and says, okay, we're moving to dinner.
[57:34] \[SPEAKER_01\]: In the Australian version, they have a waiter who comes in and is like dinner served and then they walk into dinner.
[57:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Then something I have never seen on maps happens, Adam asked Tory to leave them in a prayer.
[57:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I know.
[57:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That actually takes me by surprise.
[57:51] \[SPEAKER_01\]: In a good way for me, right?
[57:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I like that.
[57:53] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But there's people like Felipe who's an atheist.
[57:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So that's the thought is like what if there are other people.
[57:59] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm not sure Mecca has not revealed his religious inclination, but I might be Muslim.
[58:05] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I don't know.
[58:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They're based on his dad and stuff like like, you know Just thinking about consideration for other people So I was quite surprised that they left it in not really that it happened because I see that that happens But that they left it in And that but yeah, there's been a few things.
[58:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I feel like that with switching to peacock is way different like one the cussing There's a few times I'm like, oh wow
[58:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: If you pay like my ears.
[58:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, exactly.
[58:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's not like, well, this is not my math, but you know that that the prayer and then There was one more thing that I feel like is just different.
[58:40] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Oh, just even talking about politics and stuff like I feel like they really like shy to wait from that in other one.
[58:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So the way that they even
[58:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like that that was one of Paul's questions early on like January six.
[58:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I was like, well, you know, like, I think it's probably good.
[58:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But it's just, you know, all of these things like you say, it can just be like polarizing if nothing else or you know, a lot of times you see shows wanting to steer more towards just kind of keeping things in general.
[59:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And yeah, yeah, ambiguous, like so that it was interesting too.
[59:14] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[59:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I think Kinetic is deciding like we're just gonna go a lot because even in Love is Blind.
[59:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: There's been a lot of politics talk being brought up now and they're bringing out to Love is Blind.
[59:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And also just TV in general, I actually do think a lot of TV is veering into speaking out more about, if you notice when they show that, it's more about the conservative side.
[59:37] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Actually, it's not the liberal side.
[59:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Do you wanna show that bit?
[59:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Different combo.
[59:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Different combo.
[59:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So Adam says like they're vibing and he felt comfortable around her as we see Nicky and Sean Scawling on the corner of the table looking like they didn't want to be there.
[59:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Courtney asks, you know, what do you like about him besides him being weird, funny and weird as outfits like what's to deal?
[1:00:02] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's almost like she was like stop telling us like things are good.
[1:00:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: There has to be bad stuff, let us know what it is.
[1:00:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like she really needs etiquette lessons, I feel.
[1:00:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, and I don't know if I would, I noticed I like a few times, just even in the OTFs too, with people, like there was a good amount of that through these group sessions.
[1:00:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I don't know if that was like a production-led thing, or if they all really just kind of felt compelled to
[1:00:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I felt like I saw that a lot where they were like trying to bring people back down to earth or whatever, but yeah, it was definitely given a little salty on that, at least in that particular sentiment and that's where I did kind of have my note that, you know, you hear a lot of like ooze and aze and stuff at these dinners, but that's where it's hard
[1:00:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's inevitable that you're going to do some comparison and, you know, you have to stay grounded in the fact that
[1:01:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Everyone's journey is going to be different and a lot of times, especially if someone is staying on the surface, of course, it's going to look like they have so much chemistry and it's fun and lying who wouldn't want that.
[1:01:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So it is it's very hard when maps does the group things, you know, there's going to start to be this north star or this example couple, but a lot of times again, what is that kind of.
[1:01:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: down and so it can it can kind of be hazardous in or you know detrimental to some relationships if if you start to idealize something yeah that really knowing what's going on and.
[1:01:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I remember thinking about our season a little bit like MM and KG were off to like a rocket star in the honeymoon.
[1:01:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um
[1:02:13] \[SPEAKER_00\]: those people who are like hot and heavy sparks right out the gate.
[1:02:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yes.
[1:02:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Crash and burn just as fast as they kind of took off.
[1:02:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And so
[1:02:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know, but it's hard to, it's hard to, to think that way in the moment and to tell people going into it.
[1:02:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I guess that would be my, you know, for future people who are thinking about doing maps down the road, just remember like stay true to to what's going on in your relationship, stay grounded, because comparison is the thief of joy.
[1:02:40] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I feel like that kind of is what the Adam and Marissa couple is representing right now is like, oh, everyone wants that, but, you know, as we'll probably continue to see like we just got to see what's underneath that surface.
[1:02:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Spark.
[1:02:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, because Devon is eating it up because it's what it's also focusing on the thing that you're not getting.
[1:03:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Not realizing that it's just one part.
[1:03:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yes, you know, in relationship.
[1:03:05] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I was going to say though like your season you guys were the example couple.
[1:03:10] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But is there anyone that you compared yourself to at some point were like, Oh, I wish I can't think of anyone, but I wish I have that.
[1:03:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, no, I mean, I think they're at the honeymoon.
[1:03:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think there was that element of like, you know, it seems like M.M.N.E.K.
[1:03:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: She had just hit it right off and even wanted Carlos seemed so like in sync when we would get together and you know that they were just like the perfect match.
[1:03:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And you know, it was like, I wouldn't consider myself a slow burn, but in that moment, because I also think slow burn is the term that people use when they just aren't like killing the person.
[1:03:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So but it did again like I think Thomas and I's connection just did gradually like an organically grow into what it was over time.
[1:03:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We didn't get together and have this like oh my god, you know, like our vibe to start and so I for a brief, you know, like
[1:04:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think very early on at the honeymoon.
[1:04:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think all of us were kind of looking at MM and EKG like thing, you know, they're so lucky.
[1:04:14] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like they got that, like, from the get-go.
[1:04:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But obviously, it's time went on.
[1:04:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: things started shifting within our season and Thomas and I kept growing and growing.
[1:04:26] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I like a very healthy, steady pace and so you get an appreciation and I appreciated that about our relationship from the get-go, but it just became more parent.
[1:04:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's just how much more like longevity can come from a pace that's a little slower.
[1:04:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, I mean Zach and Mikael are from Houston.
[1:04:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They started off so hot.
[1:04:53] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, yeah, that's good insights, but again, it's always been a concern of mine just how much they compare and it's especially with this cast who how do I see this they don't have that much
[1:05:07] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Not deaf, but it's not scientific.
[1:05:10] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Whatever it is, like maturity, that's what it is.
[1:05:14] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That much maturity to be able to have that discernment.
[1:05:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, oh, we're different and, you know, we're just gonna work at our own pace.
[1:05:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's just quick comparison.
[1:05:22] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Oh, you have that.
[1:05:23] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Courtney has compared different people.
[1:05:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Comparing her husband to Felipe to Felipe's wife is wild.
[1:05:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, yeah.
[1:05:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know?
[1:05:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, you have to keep, you know,
[1:05:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: how could whatever they have going on possibly have any effect on, you know, have anything to do with what we got going on.
[1:05:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, and also guys, only the two people in relationship really know what the truth is.
[1:05:48] \[SPEAKER_01\]: No matter what it is you're seeing in pictures, outside or whatever, only the two people know.
[1:05:53] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah.
[1:05:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So Paul says, oh, that's a brilliant question that Courtney asked.
[1:05:59] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And then notice that Ann says and says, you know, he's sweet, his genuine.
[1:06:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And, you know, we talk about our exes, we talk about relationships.
[1:06:07] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And she's like serious conversations.
[1:06:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I think she mentions something about I just found out his relationship guy.
[1:06:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And Courtney doesn't show up and it's like, I never would have guessed that.
[1:06:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm really like, girl.
[1:06:17] \[SPEAKER_01\]: just stop.
[1:06:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So Melissa says serious conversations are for sure to come and in five years will they be aligned and she's like I don't know if we are we haven't talked about it and Adam is like we're vibing life for sure and then Nick says okay.
[1:06:34] \[SPEAKER_01\]: your physical chemistry is top tier.
[1:06:37] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He and Quartico use some of that, but on decision day really just be we'll just vibe through it.
[1:06:42] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And they just keep pushing and pushing to know the deeper and like leave them alone like this is when your relationship they're not going to tell you what you want to hear and it's not going to change anything.
[1:06:53] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But I do think to your point that this is something that producers emphasize it was giving very much You guys talk about everything be open now is your chance no one understands this except They do so it was very heavy on the keep pushing and
[1:07:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, I agree and I think sometimes it's just again the source like I just don't think anyone was trying to hear Courtney and Nick like push somebody on there kind of action at that point and I know that you know goes back to like if they like it I love it the if they want to keep it like cool, but I just know me and if I'm deciding to you know really go on with a marriage with someone I have to know we align on some really court things again
[1:07:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: politics and kind of where you fall on the, you know, human rights side of things is said like I would be a complete make it or break it for me and you know, yeah, just some of the the bigger subject matter.
[1:07:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think there definitely is still something to be said that for long term success.
[1:07:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I do think you do have to just see where some people like how their minds work outside of just.
[1:08:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, the fun.
[1:08:07] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And it's crazy to me that, you know, it was such a thing when people were still talking about January six till now, but Nick and Courtney have not had a single conversation in that regard.
[1:08:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I mean, the man didn't even know what beliefs he believed in, but this besides the point.
[1:08:21] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So, I don't know, Nick might truly be a plant.
[1:08:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So Nick in the confessional is like, oh, I was expecting Marissa to be like Adam is thoughtful and Courtney just chimed in because she can't shut up and is like, you might not need to be thoughtful when Adam is the hottest out of the whole group.
[1:08:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm like, oh my god.
[1:08:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Just not having a filter or not thinking about what you're about to say before it just comes out of your mouth because I could not I couldn't even believe it and then and then there was almost a little I didn't know she was about to go down like the gas lighting route like are you serious like why you know when he got upset like are you serious right now growing yes you just said this other man with the hottest one in the group like that some you could either talk to the girls about or keep to yourself but like yeah I'm a feel some type of way about that
[1:09:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: How do you not know that?
[1:09:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like that's what I mean by the maturitys.
[1:09:22] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Oh, maybe the self-awareness is a word I was looking for is not necessarily there.
[1:09:26] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Because Nick is immediately like, that's a wild comment.
[1:09:29] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Then she goes, I mean, you're still the hottest because you're my husband.
[1:09:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Not because she's hot, but because you're my husband.
[1:09:35] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And he's like, oh, now she's trying to switch to what you were saying and she's like, are you serious?
[1:09:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, are you gonna get mad at him for being mad that his wife just said somebody else is the hottest?
[1:09:46] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And then she's like, you said it and then she says, oh my god, I just dug myself a hole as the song in the background things.
[1:09:53] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I, I'm the one you want.
[1:09:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: He's like, shows them always whether they're like copyrighted or licensed or whatever, all across the board the music choices have always been.
[1:10:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: A1 when it comes to my, like they are gonna line something up with the light on your head.
[1:10:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: They're gonna match.
[1:10:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She had, sorry guys, it was am I the one you want?
[1:10:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: The answer is no, but yes, that's what it was.
[1:10:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So the combo switches to them at dinner, and she says she feels bad for him because he shows up for her every single day, but she's not a lover, she's not affectionate, she doesn't want to hurt someone she cares for, and she knows he thinks it's just platonic.
[1:10:30] \[SPEAKER_01\]: and passes like, do you see her body language like she's completely turned off from Nick?
[1:10:34] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, just not even, you know, turn away from him.
[1:10:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And she keeps going and she keeps talking.
[1:10:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And she's like, you know, at the honeymoon, go blessed and he tried to cut on me and I'm just looking at my watch.
[1:10:46] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, is it six a.m.
[1:10:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I want to get the fuck out of here?
[1:10:48] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, everyone is just making faces.
[1:10:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And she doesn't stop.
[1:10:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She just keeps going and Felipe is like, how does it feel to be rejected by your wife?
[1:11:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Nick God Blessen is like, I don't feel rejected with the explanation that I understand her and I get it protect your spouse in public, but also let her cook.
[1:11:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I don't know.
[1:11:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Um, I don't know.
[1:11:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: He's enabling her behavior though.
[1:11:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So yeah, you used the right term self-awareness, too.
[1:11:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I think there are, I would say, more people than not actually are pretty self-aware of how they kind of show up and relationships on the show.
[1:11:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: There's, and then the few that aren't, it's very apparent.
[1:11:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And so I think there is this disconnect between, yeah, again, it goes back to like, you know, Courtney's saying, like, how she should be feeling.
[1:11:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know, what all of this stuff, but then we'll follow up with like I'm not a lovey W person.
[1:11:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So then it's like, yeah, again, it goes back to that gauge of
[1:11:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, what should this relationship look like then for it to be successful if you're not a lovey, w person and you can admit that.
[1:12:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So again, it goes back to that gauge.
[1:12:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, are you feel like you're not into him because you're not wanting to lay on him and touch him like it doesn't come naturally.
[1:12:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But if that's not who you are at your core, then that's not fair to gauge that off of.
[1:12:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know, for that to be the standard because
[1:12:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: from what it sounds like, you wouldn't be that way with a lot of people or, you know, in relationships in general.
[1:12:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I definitely had that written down to just terms of like, how should you be feeling by now?
[1:12:33] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, what is that?
[1:12:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: that gauge, that you're amazing.
[1:12:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah.
[1:12:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She doesn't have an answer if we're being honest.
[1:12:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She says a lot of, I don't know, I don't know, but I'm like, that you should fill in the blanks before you sign up for a show like this.
[1:12:49] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So he says, Nick, that they're not lovely W, but they do have things in common.
[1:12:53] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And he and his part is not good at verbalizing his emotions.
[1:12:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Then he says nice things about her and says like, they're little things that she does that are actually impactful to him and she doesn't even realize it.
[1:13:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: and that makes him see the potential, I mean that was nice of Nick, the thing with Nick is never annoying if he's being genuine or not.
[1:13:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: No, I know, it's like, it all sounds good.
[1:13:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But then when you push them on a little more, to again, yeah, get some of that depth, they're the critical thinking, then that's where he starts fumbling a little bit.
[1:13:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So it's like the, I think it comes easy, you know, it comes easy to put together like good words or like fine positives in your partner.
[1:13:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And so he does that well.
[1:13:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But I, I don't know why I can't just can't shake.
[1:13:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like I just, heart to take.
[1:13:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It the seriously like just from the moment I knew he was on a bunch of shows.
[1:13:46] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Well, Belle's surely asked Courtney what I thought was the most important question.
[1:13:49] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, are you working to fix it?
[1:13:51] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, are you working to do anything?
[1:13:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And she's like, yeah, I just need time.
[1:13:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Time is all I need.
[1:13:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, I think that he genuinely likes me.
[1:13:59] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Not her.
[1:14:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She's sure, and Nick likes her.
[1:14:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So then Michelle asks her about her past.
[1:14:05] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm like, okay, have you ever kissed on the first?
[1:14:08] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She didn't get to finish.
[1:14:08] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She's like, no, no, I haven't, I'm like,
[1:14:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Okay, she did say that she had sex with her first love because she thought that it would make him like her.
[1:14:17] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's so interesting for someone who desperately wants to keep people in the most unhealthy ways and you have a chance to keep someone in a healthy way and you are rejecting every single thing that you could do to keep that.
[1:14:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yes, just so much to unpack and I think a lot of people would probably give that feedback who have been on the show that going on the show just really does expose some of the stuff that you need to work on and like why therapy would be beneficial and I'm not, I'm never one to diagnose anyone again.
[1:14:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It comes from a place of like therapy has done me so good, but I actually like she has so much to unpack and I don't know what it is, what happened to her in the past,
[1:14:56] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I truly feel like she needs some deep therapy and that's in like the most non-judgmental way.
[1:15:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I just feel like there is so much going on there and I don't know what it is, but it's very, like I kind of feel bad for the girl because I just, I think there's like a lot there in the show is just like, yeah, highlighting it, unfortunately, and not a great way.
[1:15:21] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, I think it starts from like her family, her home life, when she slipped up and it's like, it's not like I saw my parents hold their hands or anything.
[1:15:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But that's what that's where it needs to come from not like this person's doing something wrong or like this person isn't enough or, you know, something's missing in this relationship when really it's like it's how you are showing up.
[1:15:43] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's creating a lot of these barriers and a lot that's why therapy is great because a lot of times getting to the root of why you show up how you do that's what course corrects not just giving it more time because the same kind of traumas and issues that have been bogging you down that time isn't going to fix that it takes active work and self awareness and recognizing your patterns and like trying to figure out how to change those.
[1:16:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yes, and not to ramble, but that actually does take me to one thing I had written down.
[1:16:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Was I actually kind of liked Sean's analogy.
[1:16:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm sure you're going to go into this too of just like the competitive athlete thing.
[1:16:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I actually, you know, I feel like people are probably going to like roll their eyes and obviously like Courtney just dismissed it, but I think that's really good.
[1:16:28] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I don't know if it's like I do have a little bit of that athlete mindset, but I think that is.
[1:16:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The problem with, or where some people struggle in maths is because
[1:16:40] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know, you do think you're supposed to just come in and like, yeah, immediately click or like, yeah, operate, you know, on the vibes only or rely what you, on what you've always done and like expect for this super unnatural process to feel like a natural connection and I feel like in the dating world too, people are always like, I don't want to force anything.
[1:17:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't want to do this because it'd be forced.
[1:17:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I want it to be natural and sometimes that's why I like, I think Sean was right that,
[1:17:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Sometimes you do have to, you know, do the little things that you feel like would be forced or you don't really feel like doing it, but just doing it because then there is that element of practice makes perfect or maybe it won't feel so weird, but like if you're waiting for like the perfect moment and if you're going to be overthinking it anyway, that's it's literally never going to come naturally then to put your hand on his leg or to
[1:17:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know, with his hand or something like that, um, and so I thought that was great.
[1:17:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It kind of got brushed under the rug, but I do think especially in a process like Meredith first sight, there is a big element to like leaning into the uncomfortable parts and getting through that to where it does start to feel a little more natural.
[1:17:56] \[SPEAKER_01\]: for you.
[1:17:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And to give context for the review, who just listen and don't watch, Sean says, he tried to give an example to relate to her like, hey, you're a high functional athlete, right?
[1:18:05] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like you wake up every day, you do your mouse, some days you're not into it, but you wake up, and you still do the 10 miles because you know you have to do it and
[1:18:14] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Think of it that way.
[1:18:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's not natural.
[1:18:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's not your best, but you still did it.
[1:18:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So even when you don't want to, just try touching him, and you know, it could be a goal, you know, for you.
[1:18:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And like Melissa said, she's just like, I mean, I don't know.
[1:18:29] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She's just going to dismiss me.
[1:18:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, I'm a type of person.
[1:18:33] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's like, girl, you might be because everything about her brain is like, cut and dry, black and white, no brain zone.
[1:18:40] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So yeah, you might have to
[1:18:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: do it just to do it because people who who's brainens work like that.
[1:18:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: they don't do well in the gray and saying I'm just going to give it time and wait for stuff to come naturally that's living in the gray like that's not how your brain works so you might have to put a little structure behind it or I don't know you know there might be unpopular opinion but I just I feel like you hit it right on the head with that but again it takes self-awareness to be like you know actually that might be kind of how you know something that would work for me is of course it's like I don't need to do that
[1:19:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Well, I shouldn't give a solution yet.
[1:19:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm not even knowing, but yes, I will agree with that.
[1:19:23] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That was good advice.
[1:19:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Because I mean, sometimes in the past, they've had, what is it?
[1:19:29] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like homework or something where it's like, if you're not being affectionate, like just sit there and hug for how many minutes or staring to each other's eyes or whatever, just to get you into that, getting used to it.
[1:19:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And in your case, it's like, where are the wise people?
[1:19:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I don't want to touch you.
[1:19:44] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You're just like, you know what?
[1:19:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Let's just hold hands while we walk.
[1:19:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: To the ice cream store or something like that would just I'll hold you for the entire video from here to that street light something or whatever that you can you because that's why I like the question that virtually has what are you doing I don't even know she answered the question but I don't know if she's doing anything to fix it but yeah anything different from the norm like we can't just come into this and be our true normal selves or.
[1:20:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: that impulse to run is always going to be there.
[1:20:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like you're active riding that.
[1:20:13] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Even the couples that come in and do are and are doing well, it still feels unnatural.
[1:20:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, man, she knows everything.
[1:20:22] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She says she feels closer to you every day.
[1:20:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She doesn't need to do a repetitive thing because why he respects her.
[1:20:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Everything is next job to do.
[1:20:30] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She doesn't have to do anything.
[1:20:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Nick is not helping either.
[1:20:33] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So whatever he gets, good for him, he's like, I'm so comfortable with who I am.
[1:20:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I have my life together.
[1:20:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I just want to share it with someone and Felipe is like, you know what?
[1:20:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I can tell that you're confident and you like your life and little miss, man.
[1:20:49] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I don't know if he's comfortable who he is.
[1:20:51] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Oh, sorry.
[1:20:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: In the most respectful way.
[1:20:53] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm like, everyone gasped.
[1:20:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I said Jesus.
[1:20:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm loud.
[1:20:59] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Because I had had enough.
[1:21:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm just like, voter off the island.
[1:21:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I just don't know what she's doing right now.
[1:21:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And it's this like impulse to tell Nick about himself.
[1:21:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yes.
[1:21:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: When
[1:21:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The self-awareness is just not even in the room with like how she's showing up I don't I don't know that she she has a broad overview that she's like not affectionate But I don't think she knows how she's showing up outside of that that is that.
[1:21:26] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yes, like you know Who are you outside of that like are you aware that you're hurting people?
[1:21:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She proceeds to say, and this maybe you made sense of this and you can help me out.
[1:21:36] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I don't think the manner as confident as the women are, and I'm not even a me-to-girl, whatever the fuck that means.
[1:21:44] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And two people in a relationship need to be confident and love themselves so much in order to grow.
[1:21:50] \[SPEAKER_01\]: What was that about?
[1:21:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: She lost me on that one a little bit too
[1:21:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: To me, I don't know why I had this inkling like that probably was a conversation that she had with someone and if I would put money on it maybe Caitlin and like you know when they were just kind of you could tell they were connecting on the honeymoon about not really liking their husband's and stuff like that and so that almost seems like something that was like
[1:22:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I feel like she's talked to someone about that before.
[1:22:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I just, I don't know why I feel like it would be Caitlyn and like again, putting it back on the guys.
[1:22:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like this is just their problem.
[1:22:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like they're not confident.
[1:22:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like they just need to step up to the plate and just do this and do that and like take the lead and you know, all those things.
[1:22:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That was the only sense I could really make of that because she seems so passionate about the fact that they're not confident.
[1:22:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And honestly, I feel like
[1:22:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: literally trying to go through all the guys.
[1:22:47] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I feel like they all seem confident.
[1:22:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like maybe Sean has a little bit of like, he presents us someone with like some insecurities.
[1:22:56] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, but the rest of them all seem pretty sure about themselves and be confident.
[1:23:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Maybe Mecca a little bit.
[1:23:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I feel like is dealing with some things.
[1:23:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But I have never thought that confidence was the issue.
[1:23:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And it was, yeah, she kind of lost me a little bit with just how passionate she was on that.
[1:23:14] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But I'm glad that Marissa then.
[1:23:17] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, yeah, like I said, I would say though, when she said I'm not even a me to girl because again, my limit not stopping to take a breath before you speak, maybe she meant to pick me girl.
[1:23:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like because then she says, I think men and women should be, I think she's trying to say, I'm not the kind of person that believes in like women empowerment, like go women and stuff.
[1:23:37] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like I think men and women are equal.
[1:23:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She made a comment like that.
[1:23:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So that's why I think she meant that makes no difference.
[1:23:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, that's not the right wording that I feel like she tried to say and and I think I realized early on that her and I differ a lot in just life beliefs and so I've like you know realize that from the get go I like I don't know the girl so yes no issues but I just came to terms with that so a lot of the things that she says that like jars me a little bit I'm like
[1:24:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Can I really be that surprised?
[1:24:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't know.
[1:24:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, we can't, honestly.
[1:24:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like the only way, you know, we say when you say something or when something happens the only way is up, we quote me, I just feel the only way is down.
[1:24:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's just, there's no up about that.
[1:24:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's also a wild statement because nothing about Courtney's screen is confident.
[1:24:35] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm sorry, I don't need to, but don't say, oh, you're so cute.
[1:24:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You literally just told us you haven't worked through it, but you let someone, you know, cheat on you, you said you were there, you do anything for them to stay.
[1:24:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You still have things to work through.
[1:24:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: How can you say the confident?
[1:24:49] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Then if indeed it was Caitlyn that she spoke to, Caitlyn also said, I was with someone who didn't care about me like, why would she make a comment that I'm still stuck on, why would people be nice to me?
[1:25:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I think that was like, yes.
[1:25:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yes, so like telling in itself and again, a lot to unpack there as well.
[1:25:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But yeah, I think that's my biggest gripe with I guess I could say probably the two of them is there's it's so there's so critical of how their partners are showing up or not showing up or things they should be doing differently things like that.
[1:25:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Without ever, yeah, it just feels like my sister and I were texting a little bit about them.
[1:25:26] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So it's just like everything that she says about Nick it's almost like this projection thing of like she's describing herself and I feel like, you know, when we get to Sean and Nikki like I feel like they do that about we're with each other to Sean and Nikki like their complaints about the other person is.
[1:25:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: literally how they're showing up.
[1:25:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: For at least from what the viewers see.
[1:25:47] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So it's wild to me to, yeah, like for someone, to be saying, like you guys all just gotta be confident, coming from someone who presents, from again, from what we have been able to see is probably the least caught in the book.
[1:26:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, um, Marissa says, well, I think maybe there's a difference between confidence and being vulnerable and everyone agrees and you just know that ain't quite new up because I know she's Marissa as this dumb, ditzy girl is like, what everyone's agreeing with her, but what I said, you don't agree with
[1:26:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And Mecca was like, it's true.
[1:26:21] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, you know, I feel like I will just guy friends.
[1:26:23] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We don't dig deeper.
[1:26:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And Mecca says the women have brought out of stuff to the side to them.
[1:26:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And he can tell about Bell Julie anything.
[1:26:29] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And he can say, it was performative, but we're gonna get into that.
[1:26:34] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Felipe was like, yeah, you can tell her anything after you saw that you guys are hot.
[1:26:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And...
[1:26:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Now, Pass has not said anything about all the nonsense that Courtney has been saying, but all of a sudden with Mecca, she pipes up and is like, oh, this feels performative.
[1:26:49] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I was like, we skipped Courtney and all of the shit and Mecca is what we want to talk about now.
[1:26:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But Mecca does give brojoli compliments and how it's freeing and that he gets a rouse by it and brojoli is like nothing's happened guys I don't know what he's trying to say and they talk about the attraction story and they keep saying it's a a great question and if you all remember I thought it was a stupid question how do you ask someone who's more attracted to who to what what
[1:27:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: the conversation on, are we attracted to each other?
[1:27:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, really doesn't actually need to be a thing.
[1:27:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But like, even at least in the first couple weeks or something, like when you first get to know people and you know that maybe you can address things down the line but like, telling anyone that you're attracted to them or not, I feel like offer is absolutely nothing.
[1:27:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: In the beginning, like, it literally offers, it does nothing unless I should say telling someone you're not attracted to them.
[1:27:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: if it's positive, great, but letting that be known like what purpose does that serve?
[1:28:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah.
[1:28:02] \[SPEAKER_01\]: None, none at all.
[1:28:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I mean, thankfully, Pazon Paul agreed like it was a dumb question because everyone in the room was like, oh, it's just such a great question.
[1:28:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's what I mean again.
[1:28:10] \[SPEAKER_01\]: The majority of self-awareness, whatever the word is, this group, they don't have it.
[1:28:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm the lady in the blind.
[1:28:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Um, she says she's confused because all of a sudden he's more affectionate after he asked that question, but she's like pulled back and she's like, I'm not sure what's going on.
[1:28:26] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So Nikki and Sean, like I said, a scolling in the corner and at this point, she whispers to Sean and wondering how I can speak or not, relationship without embarrassing you.
[1:28:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Which, that's quite words, Camille, that's quite like,
[1:28:43] \[SPEAKER_00\]: She said that, Tane, I swear, I was like, oh my goodness, it's just, and she was saying it so slow.
[1:28:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I didn't, that's not what I was expecting her to say, like, I thought it was going to be like, I don't know the words I'm going to use to, you know, keep things cordial or to not, like, you know, air all of our stuff out, but to not embarrass you.
[1:29:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I was like,
[1:29:07] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Shit, that's, that's cutthroat.
[1:29:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That is like, oh, yeah, straight to the neck.
[1:29:13] \[SPEAKER_00\]: No one took me back.
[1:29:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, I was You were Sean had no comeback.
[1:29:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He's like, oh, oh, yeah Courtney is still talking and told Michelle to her face like you I even told whoever I thought you'd be picky and it'll be hard for you to find someone that you like.
[1:29:33] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Oh, okay
[1:29:34] \[SPEAKER_01\]: camera says it's been great and Paul is noticing like look at how Michelle looks at him like they're happy and then they say you've never had a girlfriend I'm tired of deciding has he never had a girlfriend or has he never been in a long-term relationship it goes back and forth every other episode
[1:29:50] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Demon says it's been difficult for them that he can't involve straight into the relationship right into a frozen lake.
[1:29:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That was weird.
[1:29:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It was his fault when she didn't meet his expectations, he spiraled into rejection and abandonment and he came in hot.
[1:30:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But meeting with Dr. Lisa gave her the validation that she wanted and it was a breakthrough.
[1:30:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I mean, I don't buy the breakthrough.
[1:30:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm sorry, I don't, I just, yeah, I think he's still hurting and still missing stuff.
[1:30:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't think so too.
[1:30:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And in the mayor to first sight, we're all like, a day is almost like a week, you know, when you spend that much time with people and just like the accelerated process.
[1:30:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So it could just be that even, you know, like they had a good couple days.
[1:30:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So now I feel like they're all the way back on track, but I agree.
[1:30:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I hope they are for his sake because the man is just trying, but I don't feel like she's tolerating him.
[1:30:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He's telling herself, this is something I need to work on it, but he can also tell about that.
[1:30:53] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's not like organic, so...
[1:30:56] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She says it's attractive when people work in themselves and she's working in herself and doing things she doesn't do and that's the difference between her and Courtney.
[1:31:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I will say like she's at least recognizing it trying to do something about it and she's like, well it's fun looking at you and things have turned around.
[1:31:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She even asked him for a kiss and Loki, I'm just glad that Courtney is also a sister in misery and it's for now.
[1:31:17] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's true.
[1:31:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Um, Felipe says he respects Tori, she's grateful for him, she tells them that they had sex and she initiated it, she shares my her flight, but she's holding his hand.
[1:31:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I was curious to see how Felipe was going to react to all of this, but then holding hands, she said it was too soon and she noticed that she self-summitages and she just needs to slow it down and she reiterates again, the sex was amazing, but her mind was just now.
[1:31:48] \[SPEAKER_01\]: in that space because people keep saying like you have to be the sick who's bad or whatever and I'm like I don't know.
[1:31:53] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Keep saying it's not.
[1:31:56] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I think it's a mind thing.
[1:31:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think so too.
[1:31:59] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think so.
[1:32:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He says it's not normal but he just wants to make sure that she's good.
[1:32:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So he looks like he received it well so good and then we will for that.
[1:32:08] \[SPEAKER_01\]: All says that I actually thought we didn't show up like Adam and I was like, what do you mean by that because you match both of them so yeah, how you thought he was going to show up and you matching with a woman, why would you do that?
[1:32:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, they've kind of been flip flopping.
[1:32:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: like, fully based showed up a little less serious and is seem like he's locking in a little more and then Adam showed up like super serious and has been trending into like a lighter.
[1:32:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I don't know, yeah, mm-hmm.
[1:32:44] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Nikki takes the floor and says that it's been challenging.
[1:32:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Mecha and Bill Jolie got to see it the first hand.
[1:32:50] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She says that the way Shawn frames stuff doesn't match
[1:32:56] \[SPEAKER_01\]: and he frames her as the problem.
[1:32:59] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, she's the problem and he's the stable base.
[1:33:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And he's like, what I said was, I want to provide the best soft life for my person.
[1:33:08] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And if they have anxiety, I would want to ease it for them.
[1:33:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And she goes, you're calling me anxious?
[1:33:14] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He says, no, but that's what she had in mind, and that was it, and then it spiraled.
[1:33:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She spiraled, you know?
[1:33:21] \[SPEAKER_01\]: mecha says we were there and I'm not trying to take Sean side or anything but there is a lack of accountability on your side Mickey and I just want to ask you sincerely and are you and accurately are you taking accountability for your part in the relationship because there was a lot of attacking and like you need to give him grace.
[1:33:42] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She says yes, but the thing is she has moved on.
[1:33:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We don't talk about the conflict.
[1:33:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And it keeps repeating itself.
[1:33:49] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And he names names and instead of naming the problem, he labels her.
[1:33:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And this, I think, is something with Nikki and her past.
[1:33:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I do think like things that have happened.
[1:33:59] \[SPEAKER_01\]: People that have reacted to her.
[1:34:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So she's on defense mode and expecting it.
[1:34:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Not to say Sean is innocent by any means, because she's not wrong.
[1:34:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She talks, he talks to her like,
[1:34:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: office hours, talks to her, like, you know, be the little condescending and he does off through her, like, you know, you are the problem and there's not much I need to do.
[1:34:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So, you know, yeah, 100%.
[1:34:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think the exact same thing and I actually, I wanted to hear Bell Jolie's take on it too, but she didn't disagree with Mecca, you know, that's right.
[1:34:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yes, but I was definitely,
[1:34:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: it was telling to me that I really am glad that someone else was there because Mecca saying that I don't think he's the type to just take a guy side, you know, he seems like he would kind of like flat and objective I feel like sometimes.
[1:34:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And so again, it doesn't put it back all on Nicky to me, but
[1:34:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: that just was telling and you know it's you never know people when they tell their their sides of stories like obviously it's how someone interpreted it yeah but you know it's is she wanted twist stories I don't know but again it obviously landed with her in a way so I feel like that's the place she's telling the story from yeah i would affect it her and how she
[1:35:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I was glad that someone else was there, and someone had an input on it.
[1:35:29] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yes, I am with you.
[1:35:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I said, why is Belle Juli not saying anything?
[1:35:33] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Because you know, guys, they'll support each other.
[1:35:36] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm like, Belle Juli, she'll live like, well, but she said nothing.
[1:35:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Why?
[1:35:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Belle Juli seems like, oh, I'm sad beside my husband.
[1:35:44] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He's the leader, do all that stuff.
[1:35:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So I wasn't sure which way was or editing, you know?
[1:35:50] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, yeah, that's um, any of that.
[1:35:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So the whole crazy thing comes up and Devon is like you both have walls and you can't see each other because of egos.
[1:35:58] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm like, facts, um, but he's talking and Sean, you know, pulls out his phone and just like I'm sure in his mind.
[1:36:08] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He's like, what is this 20 something you'll white boy going to tell me about life?
[1:36:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm not going to listen to anything.
[1:36:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Right now, but that was very rude.
[1:36:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, it doesn't matter what it is.
[1:36:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You can take it with a grain of salt, but to put your phone and start looking, I mean, we could see three of us, and you were glasses, you know, have a works.
[1:36:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And again, back to leave and talking about it, you know, our people are going to come into this really wanting to learn and kind of hear different perspectives, or do they think they have it off figured out.
[1:36:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And that's something that's shown, but that's kind of just what that represents in that moment, like the pool.
[1:36:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[1:36:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And now it's like,
[1:36:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: No, bro, if you were talking to you about like y'all having some issues right now.
[1:36:47] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So if it was me, I would be all ears.
[1:36:49] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, you should be.
[1:36:50] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah.
[1:36:51] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Nikki says there's a lack of respect.
[1:36:53] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like raise voices, agitation, and it's a pattern that continues.
[1:36:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Devon says, you know, what is your part?
[1:36:59] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like what part do you play?
[1:37:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And she's like, you know, I'm Max's energy.
[1:37:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: and you know to the point where sometimes they decided that whenever they get heightened, they're just going to call it and stop.
[1:37:10] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And even that was criticized.
[1:37:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She said like they were talking about a piece of the whole everything and said that he said he
[1:37:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Over her and they're all like, ooh, that was disrespectful blah blah.
[1:37:23] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I honestly I think they misunderstood what she was trying to say She just said though like that high comment was out of pocket Dude, the man is five six like she's not trying to say that she says I'm five five and for him to imply that I was towering over him when I just got up Yeah, I think like I wasn't saying anything and I even caught me.
[1:37:42] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He was like, oh, that was out of pocket shouldn't but I
[1:37:47] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, I think I think in a couple words got like dropped out and I don't know if they all know that story So literally like how it can't without knowing the back round if people are like not really Getting up with what she's saying
[1:38:01] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I get it but yeah, it was completely taken out of contact.
[1:38:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I knew she didn't mean it like that she didn't she kept saying no That's what he said that he said I was towering over her and then the whole aggressive thing and all that But they didn't even let her land.
[1:38:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They just thought she five five and towered that was it.
[1:38:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah She was talking about herself and almost was like how could I how could I at five five possibly be towering over someone is how she I live a little different
[1:38:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: unfortunate.
[1:38:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Adam is like, well, have you guys considered calling it?
[1:38:30] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Or was like, whoa.
[1:38:34] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Sean says it's not in his DNA to call it.
[1:38:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's like there's room for growth.
[1:38:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And Mekha says, guys, this compatibility there, the experts know what they're doing.
[1:38:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's why we're on match.
[1:38:46] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And past says, well, thank you, Mek.
[1:38:49] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm like, why are you calling him Mekha?
[1:38:51] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I know.
[1:38:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You want to be here a week.
[1:38:53] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I noticed that.
[1:38:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So they're done with the dinner and they're all leaving.
[1:39:02] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And it's an affliction.
[1:39:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Courtney just has to nitpick on Nick.
[1:39:07] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It doesn't matter what it is.
[1:39:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And she's like, uh, you ordered a jetta like,
[1:39:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I hope you know that's what the hottest man drives, right?
[1:39:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Because we saw him drive his car to the lake.
[1:39:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's what he was driving.
[1:39:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And she's like, it's fine.
[1:39:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We love a Volkswagen.
[1:39:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And then he accidentally stepped on her foot and she's like, Oh, gosh enough.
[1:39:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Come, just give him a break or something.
[1:39:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So while they're in the car, he brings up the whole confidence comment and says,
[1:39:33] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, you know, what was that about?
[1:39:34] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, you know, when you said that, and may I point out, they have cameras in the car.
[1:39:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So he's not the one who ordered the Jetta.
[1:39:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They have to rig up the camera.
[1:39:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So girl, get it right if you're going to nitpick.
[1:39:46] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Get her your producer.
[1:39:48] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She was like, well, maybe that was really followed me to say, maybe.
[1:39:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I just, she says a lot of things with no answers and she's like, I just mean like, you know, I've been rejected, but you know, I have confidence.
[1:40:02] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm like, what are you saying?
[1:40:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, I don't even know where she's headed with that.
[1:40:07] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, so Nicky says it was a shitty night and she has low confidence that this is something that they can get through that Sean presented her in a bad light and double down on the names that he called her and mischaracterize her in front of their peers and like
[1:40:23] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He's like, he says his reverse words.
[1:40:26] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I've been insensitive.
[1:40:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I didn't do what I should do as a husband.
[1:40:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And she's like, so why did you say that I didn't?
[1:40:33] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I didn't.
[1:40:35] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He said I did because no you didn't.
[1:40:37] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He's like, okay, I don't want any more fights.
[1:40:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I just like, well, I don't want any, I don't want to fight.
[1:40:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He says, I promise I'm not going to fight with you and he's amazed that since it's all me, since the problem is me, like she hasn't figured out his problems and fixed him.
[1:40:53] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm like, Sean, you cannot say you don't want to fight and then you come up with this personal aggressive thing that y'all will be doing all the time.
[1:41:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Stop it literally.
[1:41:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: They will both take the petty route in a heartbeat and like it's just never going to solve anything.
[1:41:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: literally as both of them do and it's like yeah trying to cut each other down, trying to both be heard and you know they're just really yeah that's what I wrote down is like they're just really like missing each other on all fronts and again it just kind of stem back from yeah like stuff they've learned from past behaviors or you know or past relationships I should say and it's just
[1:41:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, not productive.
[1:41:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[1:41:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You have to focus on like what's the most productive route?
[1:41:43] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Not just yeah, who's going to win.
[1:41:46] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, they need to stop focusing and who's going to win.
[1:41:48] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Even though a little bit, I think when you said like, when you feel like you're not being heard and you just want to get your point across, but it's not a work environment.
[1:41:56] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You cannot bring that in there.
[1:41:58] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She says, I don't know if I have the capacity and he says,
[1:42:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Why don't you leave and she hands him his jacket back and was like, I don't want this and then she walks away.
[1:42:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They do get to the apartment together and she's like, I need a break.
[1:42:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: This apartment feels too small for her and he was like, I would like you to stay and to have friendly conversations.
[1:42:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I said this before Sean does this annoying thing where he is being calm.
[1:42:22] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He's talking calmly and no piss me off because you can't start a fire and then go, no.
[1:42:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think that's Nicky's problem too, in this, you know, we're getting the edit of her like all fired up and everything, but sometimes that does drive you crazy or when you're like, you know someone made you mad, they know what they did, but they're taking the calm route, it almost infuriate you more.
[1:42:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And so I was like, you know, Nicky didn't get the great edit on this one and she was she was looking like,
[1:42:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know, how he paints her out to be kind of thin or it was like fitting.
[1:42:56] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Oh, like, you know, it was that time where we saw it a little bit with mm any KG2 like there would be an element like, Oh, yeah, you know, see this what I'm talking about or like, you know, I had the viewers like, Oh, well, maybe there is something to it.
[1:43:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And so I was trying to stay objective with that to and just, you know, realize editing and all of that.
[1:43:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But they're so interesting to me because they both know,
[1:43:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like when they sit back and reflect, they know what the issue is.
[1:43:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: They know where, you know, they went wrong or they can express how they were feeling in that moment.
[1:43:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Now it's about being able to put that into practice or doing something differently the next time, or being able to kind of catch things before they go, you know, derail all the way.
[1:43:40] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Now it's a fun argument.
[1:43:42] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, I think the easiest thing about them is like I can comfortably say like both of them are a fault.
[1:43:48] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's not a this person that person both are them a culpable both of them are fault.
[1:43:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: They need to work on things and the thing is the things they need to work on are similar.
[1:43:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's just a funny part.
[1:43:58] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yes.
[1:44:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: They're both kind of complaining about the same things in a way.
[1:44:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, you know, there's little differences in the deliveries different, but I think at the core,
[1:44:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: feeling the same things yeah so finally she says she doesn't want to force it she doesn't have a conversation because he says stay in have a friendly conversation she's like I don't want to force a friendly conversation I don't want even to have a conversation at all and she walks out and she sees your apartment that is one of the mass deadly sins although didn't give them two bedrooms but you know no matter how bad it is don't go back to your place like you
[1:44:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I, that is one thing that I agree with and, you know, Thomas and I definitely didn't have any like explosive fights, but I like to think that, you know, if there was something that really, you know, upset me enough, I still would choose to stay in that apartment and I, I do agree with that from like a foundational level.
[1:44:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I feel like that should be, you know, it's just, again, it doesn't really solve anything or it's not helping you face the,
[1:45:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: patterns, you know, from that.
[1:45:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah.
[1:45:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So that was the episode, but before I let you go, I do my bouquet and my ashes.
[1:45:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Do you have a bouquet for the episode?
[1:45:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: bouquet.
[1:45:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm going to give to you.
[1:45:26] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I want to do Michelle and Cameron.
[1:45:28] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I feel like they, you know, it's probably going to be easy for them to get it a lot of weeks, but you know, coming from another fellow like boring normal couple, I feel like, you know, they definitely has to be there.
[1:45:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Obviously, you're going to get probably like the few of scenes and the less like discord or the least amount of discourse about them, but there's something we say.
[1:45:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think they're both doing really well.
[1:45:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's just coming in, being self-aware.
[1:45:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: having deep conversations, but still having fun, you know, being hopeful and kind of that approach of like working through whatever versus like finding the reasons why something wouldn't work.
[1:46:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I just, I really like their approach, I think they're both, I think
[1:46:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: you know Michelle super sweet cue in Cameron is very like you know he obviously has his stuff we didn't go too far into it but I think you know the basketball coach lifestyle actually had plays a lot more into his lack of relationship than just like an F boy or something you know like I think there's more levels to it so I like that I say that all that say I like them both individually I think they're doing things very right and I hope they work out so I'm gonna give them
[1:46:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's fair.
[1:46:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I mean, that was hard in them the first two because I was like, you give me nothing.
[1:46:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm so like, but now they're getting to each other and like, I just like also when you gave it the compliment about the airport and stuff like that.
[1:46:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So that was yeah, he seems like not at all a mushy, mushy guy.
[1:46:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So when I feel like, you know, the compliments that he gives, they feel very heartfelt and genuine and not performative and like,
[1:47:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: thoughtful like that's not just the oh you're so beautiful or you're a nice person like he yet I feel I really like how he speaks about her and to her yeah I think he's surprised by how he feels actually yeah I agree that's how it's coming up like yeah he's just I don't know that he or we know he probably hasn't been in many situations to express his feelings to someone so that's what's giving it that authentic feel to which I love
[1:47:26] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah.
[1:47:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Okay, I'm going to give my bouquet to Devin.
[1:47:29] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I just felt like he dropped some nuggets, you know, during it, the man is starving.
[1:47:33] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He's stifling himself, but, you know, he's still showed up for his people.
[1:47:37] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And then he'd get advice even though Sean wouldn't take it, but he said some things and, you know, it was good.
[1:47:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So, I guess it's refreshing to get a guy who's like, or see a guy who's kind of into him with emotions and can do some critical thinking when it comes to relationships.
[1:47:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I agree with you.
[1:47:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: He was dropping some
[1:47:56] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Oh, no, it's for sure.
[1:47:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, who has your asses?
[1:47:59] \[SPEAKER_00\]: All right, gotta give them to Courtney.
[1:48:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I just like, again, I'm trying to stay objective and, oh yeah, it's just some people.
[1:48:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Whether it's editing or not, just do not show up as their best selves and think of our,
[1:48:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Just our personalities are wildly different, like just a lot of stuff just doesn't really land with me so and I don't think again if we're talking other people are giving examples or our examples of how you can be uncomfortable with something but still lean into it and still be like kind to your partner along the way and you know so I think for all of those reasons I just I got to give them to her.
[1:48:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: me, you said it all.
[1:48:53] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I think she's being my ashes for like how many weeks in a row.
[1:48:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I've tried, but you know, it's just this was not a good showing.
[1:49:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like you can't talk down to you husband this way.
[1:49:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You cannot nitpick at him this way.
[1:49:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You can't just blur things out.
[1:49:08] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like forget about your husband.
[1:49:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Think before you speak, though.
[1:49:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's very important.
[1:49:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, do you do this at work?
