This episode was so dense with blink-and-you-miss-it-moments that Katie and Jordan definitely spend most of this podcast saying "I don't know!" On this episode, Katie and Jordan dive into Avatar: Seven Havens Chapter 7: "What Lies Beneath" and after seeing the locker room, Jordan has questions about what other avatar-centric merch exist in this world. Hats? Novelty t-shirts? Katie re-pitches the theory she already forgot she pitched in our last podcast episode about the origin of the Anomaly (a.k.a. "Big Red Square") and is really excited about Pavi's intuition and her character growth. Jordan is excited Seven Havens has shown us their most "Mad Max" scene yet and is now obsessed with the Anomaly goo. An Avatar fan is cold-called who actually answers and actually knows what Seven Havens is! Also, he loves tea. It's not Iroh, but wouldn't that be great? [0:26] SPEAKER_00: Look at those arms.
[0:29] SPEAKER_02: There is some hot takes slash we should have backed it up and we're not sure what we watched.
[0:35] SPEAKER_00: We should have watched this episode twice because we have questions on the thing we just watched that we're doing a podcast about.
[0:41] SPEAKER_02: And it's a miracle.
[0:42] SPEAKER_02: Somebody answered our cold call.
[0:45] SPEAKER_00: And had a pretty good attitude.
[0:48] SPEAKER_00: All that and more on this episode of Yip Yapere, an Avatar Podcast.
[0:54] SPEAKER_02: Yep, yep.
[0:55] SPEAKER_02: Whoop.
[1:07] SPEAKER_00: Welcome to Pew Pew Pew.
[1:10] SPEAKER_00: Yip Ya Pray, an Avatar podcast where we talk about Avatar Seven Havens.
[1:16] SPEAKER_00: I keep wanting to say Avatar the Last Airbender Seven Havens.
[1:19] SPEAKER_02: You know, I got it.
[1:21] SPEAKER_00: It's stuck in my brain.
[1:22] SPEAKER_00: I'm stuck on pew-pew-pew.
[1:25] SPEAKER_00: Anyway, hey, what's your name?
[1:27] SPEAKER_00: You're a co-host here.
[1:28] SPEAKER_02: Uh, my name's Katie, and I'm a co-host here.
[1:32] SPEAKER_00: What do you do?
[1:32] SPEAKER_00: Like, what's your co-host?
[1:33] SPEAKER_00: Like, what's your like your thing as a co-host?
[1:36] SPEAKER_02: Um, being like Avatar dumb.
[1:38] SPEAKER_02: I don't know what my thing is.
[1:41] SPEAKER_02: What's your thing?
[1:43] SPEAKER_02: Who are you?
[1:44] SPEAKER_00: Well, I am Jordan, and I'm a Nickelodeon Certified.
[1:49] SPEAKER_00: Certified.
[1:50] SPEAKER_00: Is certified I thought it was a freak.
[1:52] SPEAKER_00: Seven days a week.
[1:53] SPEAKER_00: Certified Avatar Superfan.
[1:56] SPEAKER_00: And I'm here to give you all of my really, really great insight.
[2:00] SPEAKER_02: It is pretty great.
[2:01] SPEAKER_02: I mean, I'm here for that too.
[2:03] SPEAKER_00: Oh, good.
[2:04] SPEAKER_00: So on this episode of Yippy Parade and Avatar podcast, we're talking about the season premiere of Batch Three of Seven Havens.
[2:15] SPEAKER_00: Wow.
[2:15] SPEAKER_00: How are you feeling about this like weekly drop of three episodes at a time?
[2:20] SPEAKER_02: I guess I feel good about it.
[2:21] SPEAKER_02: It's a it's a lot.
[2:24] SPEAKER_02: I feel like it's a lot.
[2:25] SPEAKER_00: We've been kind of doing a bit of a marathon.
[2:27] SPEAKER_00: It's just it's just doable enough.
[2:30] SPEAKER_02: Do you think they're doing this because like people are, you know, like the society isn't used to like one episode a week anymore?
[2:38] SPEAKER_02: I don't think we could do one episode.
[2:40] SPEAKER_02: We gotta binge it.
[2:40] SPEAKER_02: And so it's like if you're not giving us more than one, then we're not gonna watch it.
[2:44] SPEAKER_00: But it's like every every week gets to be a bit of a micro binge.
[2:47] SPEAKER_00: You're like, ooh, three episodes, so it kind of satisfies it, but it also keeps it in the cultural conversation a little bit.
[2:53] SPEAKER_00: But again, it's only for one month, so I don't know, the whole television landscape is just screwy.
[2:58] unknown: Okay.
[2:59] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so I think it's been nice because I think it's also making it more digestible.
[3:04] SPEAKER_02: I think where it's like, okay, we're getting this little chunk, and we're you know, because like one episode is good on its own, but having the three, I think has been good.
[3:14] SPEAKER_02: I feel very connected to the characters and the story.
[3:17] SPEAKER_00: I think we're going just slow enough, you and I, that we're able to process each episode.
[3:23] SPEAKER_00: I mean, I can't imagine and digest them.
[3:26] SPEAKER_00: Yes, I'm using all of my little uh gut, my gut bacteria to break them down and have them be part of my body.
[3:32] SPEAKER_02: Okay.
[3:33] SPEAKER_00: So on this week's episode, we're talking about chapter seven, What Lies Beneath.
[3:40] SPEAKER_00: And many things.
[3:41] SPEAKER_00: A lot lies beneath.
[3:42] SPEAKER_00: A lot going on down there.
[3:43] SPEAKER_00: What is what lies beneath?
[3:45] SPEAKER_02: Well, it's a uh it's a hangout.
[3:48] SPEAKER_02: It is a hangout.
[3:49] SPEAKER_02: For the bandits.
[3:51] SPEAKER_02: It's where the red goo lightning anomaly.
[3:55] SPEAKER_00: Anomaly goo.
[3:56] SPEAKER_02: Uh lives.
[3:57] SPEAKER_02: I guess.
[3:58] SPEAKER_02: Is it its core?
[4:00] SPEAKER_00: So yeah, this episode, I was surprised that we found out so many things that lie beneath.
[4:05] SPEAKER_00: But I think the big one, obviously, is there was some sort of skyscraper building metal monolith from Korra's days.
[4:17] SPEAKER_00: But it was it was very I keep wanting to say future foundation, which is a Fantastic Four thing, but it's Future Industries, Asami's little company.
[4:26] SPEAKER_00: So it looks is Alura built uh on top of it?
[4:30] SPEAKER_00: Oh, maybe did all of this like old world stuff sink below the surface during the cataclysm?
[4:38] SPEAKER_02: Okay, so maybe we're like on top of Republic City.
[4:41] SPEAKER_00: No, because we we're not on top of Republic City because the we're on the eastern part, like southeastern part of the Earth Kingdom, what used to be the Earth Kingdom.
[4:50] SPEAKER_00: And Alora is put there because I think Brian Canitsko and Michael Dante DiMartino, they wanted to explore a region of the Avatar map that we haven't been to yet.
[4:59] SPEAKER_02: Okay.
[4:59] SPEAKER_00: So we hadn't been to the southeastern part.
[5:02] SPEAKER_02: Okay, what about the Corridol?
[5:04] SPEAKER_00: There's been okay, so the first Corridor was like all like raggedy and old, but yeah, were we just were there just a bunch of merch?
[5:11] SPEAKER_00: Did Cora have merch?
[5:12] SPEAKER_02: Hey, it was like New World.
[5:14] SPEAKER_02: We had cars and we had merch.
[5:16] SPEAKER_02: And then now we're like, uh, Corridor.
[5:21] SPEAKER_02: There's hard to let it go.
[5:22] SPEAKER_00: There's been too much avatar merch from past avatars, I think, in this series.
[5:28] SPEAKER_00: It was really weird to have posters of Kyoshi and Aang and Kurik.
[5:33] SPEAKER_00: Also, poor Roku.
[5:35] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, he's out.
[5:36] SPEAKER_00: Obviously, we needed a shout out to Kurik because we were like, hey, remember we're doing another uh series about this guy.
[5:41] SPEAKER_00: Totally.
[5:42] SPEAKER_00: And then like the scroll that just happened to have Aang, Roku, and Kyoshi.
[5:46] SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's I get why they need to do it to show some sort of history to these girls, but it was weird to have just posters of the avatars.
[5:54] SPEAKER_02: It felt forced.
[5:55] SPEAKER_02: It didn't feel as like natural as like everything else has felt.
[5:58] SPEAKER_00: Is it kind of like the Pope?
[5:59] SPEAKER_00: Like people have a favorite Pope.
[6:01] SPEAKER_02: Like my Just because your grandma has a favorite Pope, I don't have a favorite Pope.
[6:05] SPEAKER_02: Why not?
[6:05] SPEAKER_02: Well, I guess it was the recent one.
[6:07] SPEAKER_02: Oh, Francis.
[6:08] SPEAKER_02: Francie.
[6:10] SPEAKER_00: But I don't even think I know the other ones.
[6:12] SPEAKER_00: So when we leave this building, when we go to what lies beneath, how surprised were you that we got to like a metal doorway or a metal hallway?
[6:22] SPEAKER_02: Once they jumped through the the red slide.
[6:25] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, the red slide went down.
[6:27] SPEAKER_02: I was surprised, but then I was kind of like, I'm like, this is so classic, you know, where you think you got it figured out, and they're like, oh no, secret society or like the secrets are hidden.
[6:39] SPEAKER_00: Well, you we had a you had a belief that maybe the faceless were living underneath Alora.
[6:44] SPEAKER_00: And so that that happened, that came to pass.
[6:46] SPEAKER_02: Well, you're gonna be happy that I have another theory.
[6:49] SPEAKER_00: Ooh, give me one.
[6:50] SPEAKER_02: Is mom and dad the like the anomaly?
[6:53] SPEAKER_02: Or like somehow like you said that last time.
[6:55] SPEAKER_02: Did I?
[6:56] SPEAKER_02: Well, I'm saying it again because I thought it again.
[6:58] SPEAKER_02: You're really leaning in on it.
[6:59] SPEAKER_02: I was like, I think this is like mom and dad are gonna be connected somehow.
[7:02] SPEAKER_02: Like that, like they they're trapped in there.
[7:05] SPEAKER_00: I don't know that they're Why do you think that that's the parents though?
[7:09] SPEAKER_00: What what what is leading you to believe that in the series?
[7:13] SPEAKER_02: My gut.
[7:14] SPEAKER_00: Okay.
[7:14] SPEAKER_00: The gut bacteria.
[7:16] SPEAKER_00: But you're digesting it.
[7:17] SPEAKER_02: I feel like the parents aren't usually as involved, right?
[7:20] SPEAKER_02: It's like it's kind of like the benders who are like, okay, well, this is your destiny now, so goodbye.
[7:25] SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
[7:26] SPEAKER_02: But I don't know.
[7:27] SPEAKER_00: I mean, intimately involving the parents more for these avatars is an interesting take.
[7:33] SPEAKER_00: I just don't understand how they would be involved really.
[7:36] SPEAKER_00: Like how they could get in some like spirit world y thing.
[7:38] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well, maybe they're you know, you birth the avatars.
[7:42] SPEAKER_00: And then you join the spirit world.
[7:44] SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
[7:44] SPEAKER_02: So I feel like something went down and we don't know.
[7:47] SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
[7:48] SPEAKER_02: I just feel like they're gonna be connected.
[7:50] SPEAKER_00: But there's so many mysteries and yippers, if you're listening, I'm sure like like we said, we're not necessarily doing deep dive theory takes.
[8:00] SPEAKER_00: I'm sure people have a lot of really interesting takes on you know the foreshadowing and what we've seen.
[8:04] SPEAKER_00: We're again going in blind.
[8:06] SPEAKER_00: We're just watching it, we're taking it one day at a time.
[8:08] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we're just enjoying, being in the moment.
[8:11] SPEAKER_00: So do you think Nisha and Puffy are of this time, or do you think they're from the past?
[8:15] SPEAKER_00: Or are they from the spirit world?
[8:17] SPEAKER_02: I think we're gonna find out they are have a different history than like Jay.
[8:22] SPEAKER_00: Could Cora have died in the Avatar State?
[8:27] SPEAKER_00: Because as we know, if you're in the Avatar state and you are killed, that ends the Avatar cycle.
[8:33] SPEAKER_00: And so could there be a scenario where she's in the Avatar state, she's she dies or is killed, and then Nisha and Puffy are like the universe trying to like bring it back somehow.
[8:47] SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's all possible, right?
[8:49] SPEAKER_02: I mean, I feel like nonchalant, like the girls just like jumped in and were like, I'm in the spirit world, oh, there's Korra, and it was like, oh, if we're like her, if we're her, like I don't want anything to do with this.
[8:58] SPEAKER_00: But see, I don't think they really were in the spirit world.
[9:00] SPEAKER_00: I thought spirit world also, but I think when you're in the spirit world, you're more like you're kind of a blue opaque kind of color, and they were they were red, they were anomaly red.
[9:08] SPEAKER_02: Okay, so they were just like in the anomaly and like shown what was happening with Korra, supposedly.
[9:15] SPEAKER_00: Right.
[9:15] SPEAKER_00: So the anomaly has some weird connection to the avatar cycle.
[9:20] SPEAKER_00: Again, if it's the parents, like I don't know.
[9:24] SPEAKER_02: Anyway, the point is we don't know.
[9:25] SPEAKER_02: I want to talk about this episode.
[9:27] SPEAKER_02: Oh, like let's go back to the beginning where like Jay is babysitting.
[9:31] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
[9:32] SPEAKER_02: Okay, and Jay definitely has no control.
[9:35] SPEAKER_02: Like, he's trying to get them to meditate.
[9:38] SPEAKER_02: Nisha cannot hold the space at all.
[9:41] SPEAKER_02: Zero.
[9:41] SPEAKER_02: She's not even trying.
[9:42] SPEAKER_02: She's not even trying.
[9:43] SPEAKER_00: The first thing Nisha does is blow a raspberry in this episode.
[9:46] SPEAKER_02: And Puffy, I feel like, is trying because she, her intention, right, is like if this is gonna help me towards my goal of like figuring out what happened to mom and dad.
[9:55] SPEAKER_02: But I was surprised.
[9:57] SPEAKER_02: I was happy with like meditation, but then like the singing bowls.
[10:01] SPEAKER_02: I just felt like the girls kept ditching him and it just was not happening.
[10:06] SPEAKER_00: But when Jay dropped them all, in Nisha goes, So that's how they sing.
[10:10] SPEAKER_00: That was pretty good.
[10:11] SPEAKER_00: Also, Jay's knowledge and his his buy-in to all this things like within the avatar world is increasing.
[10:18] SPEAKER_00: And I don't know if he brought his own like research because he pulled a scroll open at one point and was like, the avatar is the bridge between our world and the spirit world.
[10:26] SPEAKER_02: Well, clearly, like Karthik and Crew or the White Lotus, like does have avatar information.
[10:32] SPEAKER_02: And so now that Jay's like a part of the secret society, clearly he seems like a studious type of person.
[10:39] SPEAKER_02: I feel like, do you feel like you could relate to Jay?
[10:41] SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
[10:42] SPEAKER_00: Well, of course I'm watching Jay and I'm like, yeah, I'm I'm Jay.
[10:45] SPEAKER_00: You know, and he's not necessarily questioning the status quo.
[10:49] SPEAKER_00: He's just you know he's seeing how society works, and he's like, I want to be plugged in, I want to do my part.
[10:54] SPEAKER_00: He's figuring it out.
[10:55] SPEAKER_00: He's figuring out but maybe it's not what Jay needs, because maybe Jay needs to be doing something else.
[11:00] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, Jay.
[11:02] SPEAKER_00: But well, you know, we we both have Jays in our name.
[11:05] SPEAKER_02: Hmm.
[11:06] SPEAKER_02: I have been really enjoying like Peppy's inf intuition like throughout the the series, and I think this episode highlighted that.
[11:17] SPEAKER_02: Highlighted that highlighted that highlighted that anyway, it highlighted that I think throughout, and that was nice.
[11:23] SPEAKER_00: How so?
[11:24] SPEAKER_02: I think just where you know, like there's other things happening, and like her yeah, her intuition like kind of leads her somewhere else, and like instead of second guessing that, I think she is just like leaning in, and like obviously it led them downstairs into all of that, and like we find Yuki.
[11:44] SPEAKER_02: What did you think about finding Yuki?
[11:46] SPEAKER_00: Well, we kind of had an assumption that maybe she was a part of the faceless, so I wasn't super surprised that she was hanging out with them.
[11:53] SPEAKER_00: I got equalist vibes when Jay like stumbles upon it.
[11:57] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I did too.
[11:58] SPEAKER_00: I was like, oh no, I can't see that.
[11:59] SPEAKER_00: They were very aggressive, and clearly there's some there's more to what's going on with the faceless, but they're not they're not doing too much by making them all look pretty rugged.
[12:08] SPEAKER_00: It's like several guys had eye patches.
[12:11] SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
[12:12] SPEAKER_02: I guess I thought we were gonna have more of like a heart-to-heart, like like this is what's happening, and not like like queen of the faceless is like, you know, you're a bender.
[12:21] SPEAKER_02: Like we can re-educate the girls, but like I definitely thought Jay was going down.
[12:25] SPEAKER_02: You thought Jay was going down, but he narrates the beginning.
[12:28] SPEAKER_02: Okay, I didn't think he was actually going down, but I was like, okay, if you know the red goo hadn't uh popped in and saved the day at that exact moment, yeah, Jay was going down.
[12:39] SPEAKER_00: Deus Deus Deus ex machina, saved by the machine.
[12:45] SPEAKER_02: What?
[12:46] SPEAKER_00: Anyway, what is that?
[12:48] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean the Faceless Queen was definitely going to slit his throat with her little like fire daggers.
[12:53] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I feel like she was like, Jay, you're out of here.
[12:56] SPEAKER_02: And you know, and so I was like, okay, so we're like saved by the red square.
[13:01] SPEAKER_02: Saved by the bell.
[13:03] SPEAKER_02: The anomaly.
[13:04] SPEAKER_02: But then like two seconds later, the girls are like, oh, I don't want anything to do with this.
[13:07] SPEAKER_02: And I was like, this anomaly just saved your bacon.
[13:11] SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
[13:12] SPEAKER_00: It was interesting because I think the anomaly was not going after the girls necessarily.
[13:18] SPEAKER_00: So, right, I mean, it could be the parents and they're just look looking out for the girls the best they can.
[13:23] SPEAKER_00: It just happens to be in the form of and Jay.
[13:25] SPEAKER_00: And Jay.
[13:26] SPEAKER_00: It just happens to be in the form of black lightning.
[13:28] SPEAKER_00: So them finding the anomaly goo, I don't know, it seemed like some sort of facility, like an energy type facility.
[13:38] SPEAKER_00: I don't know if Republic City and the Avatar World was still relying on spirit vines.
[13:44] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like spirit energy stuff, because that's kind of what it seemed like.
[13:47] SPEAKER_00: So is that a facility that was supposed to house it and now it's just a storage space for anomaly goo?
[13:53] SPEAKER_00: Did was the anomaly goo there's coming from the spirit?
[13:57] SPEAKER_00: So did like the spirit energy like get corrupted and become anomaly?
[14:01] SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
[14:02] SPEAKER_00: It's so weird.
[14:02] SPEAKER_00: I don't know what's going on.
[14:04] SPEAKER_00: Also, why was it goo?
[14:06] SPEAKER_02: I mean it wasn't, I mean, not that it needs to be appetizing, but I mean it was like a different You were appetized by it?
[14:13] SPEAKER_00: Not not the You just want to take a spoonful of that anomaly and digest it.
[14:17] SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna say I've had a rough morning.
[14:19] SPEAKER_02: I've sneezed like 50 times.
[14:22] SPEAKER_02: So the words are so-so.
[14:25] SPEAKER_00: What did you think of Pavi just wanting to touch all of the anomaly?
[14:29] SPEAKER_00: She's like, I want to touch the crystals, I want to touch the anomaly goo di electrical discharge and be suspended in it.
[14:36] SPEAKER_02: Again, I felt like to me that was showing growth and like her confidence and being like, I want to do this, I'm gonna do it, I'm doing it, I did it.
[14:44] SPEAKER_00: You know, and I was I was here for it.
[14:47] SPEAKER_00: But it's an interesting character thing from Puffy to be like everyone says the anomaly is like destructive and evil, but she's like drawn to it.
[14:55] SPEAKER_00: Because it's mom and dad, apparently.
[14:57] SPEAKER_02: Or intuition.
[14:59] SPEAKER_02: There's something there where it's like, oh, it appears to be this way, but what is it really?
[15:04] SPEAKER_00: You know.
[15:05] SPEAKER_00: Also, we're in this weird thing story-wise.
[15:07] SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm happy to have these like mysteries to untangle, but it's kind of like I don't understand what the purpose is for the girls right now.
[15:15] SPEAKER_00: Like, clearly, Carthag is now distracted, worried about the envoys.
[15:19] SPEAKER_00: They're we're kind of training them, but also the girls, like their whole point versus like Aang, where it's like we're very clearly like, you need to learn all the elements so you can stop the Fire Lord.
[15:30] SPEAKER_00: Right.
[15:31] SPEAKER_00: Cora's like, you need to get your stuff together because you're out of whack.
[15:35] SPEAKER_02: But these girls, it's like their their goal is to find their family, and so that's just it's a very it's to stay hidden, and I feel like we're gonna use them as a secret weapon, just how we're using the other benders, right?
[15:49] SPEAKER_02: You don't have a choice.
[15:50] SPEAKER_02: This is your your destiny.
[15:53] SPEAKER_02: Right.
[15:54] SPEAKER_02: But also going back to um Puffy being like, you know, acting on whatever, it's like, oh, you're told this is evil.
[16:00] SPEAKER_02: But I'm like, even just her own take on like, oh, growing up and being or the past three years, being told that the avatar is evil, is evil and all this stuff, and like coming to terms with like a a change of an opinion, right?
[16:15] SPEAKER_02: You're being like, oh well, I guess maybe things aren't as black and white.
[16:19] SPEAKER_02: And I think the faceless classic the faceless said something about that.
[16:23] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the the queen definitely was like, the things aren't as black and white, and I'm gonna slit your throat because I'm a Zula.
[16:28] SPEAKER_02: Right.
[16:29] SPEAKER_02: I know.
[16:30] SPEAKER_02: There was something familiar about her.
[16:32] SPEAKER_02: What did you think about them getting the information about the bracelets and like the song and kind of having a little bit more I'm happy to have it?
[16:42] SPEAKER_00: I think it's like really it was strange to be like, oh, well, just it just hits the light just the right way, and then you can see the the sigil in there.
[16:50] SPEAKER_00: And that was weird to me because it it implied that they've never actually like looked at their bracelet.
[16:56] SPEAKER_00: Because pubby very easily is just like, oh, just like change the light, and like I can see it now.
[17:00] SPEAKER_02: Right.
[17:01] SPEAKER_02: I don't think this was the strongest episode that we have seen.
[17:04] SPEAKER_02: I think it moved the story forward.
[17:07] SPEAKER_02: I don't think it was a throwaway episode, but I don't but I don't think that it it moved us in the same way as in the same way that other episodes have.
[17:15] SPEAKER_02: Right.
[17:16] SPEAKER_00: But I think the animation was really good.
[17:18] SPEAKER_00: I'm finally, I'm getting on the train.
[17:20] SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
[17:20] SPEAKER_00: I thought the animation was really good.
[17:21] SPEAKER_00: It's like what seven episodes in?
[17:23] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, I thought that was here.
[17:24] SPEAKER_00: Maybe it was the strongest uh episode for the animation so far.
[17:27] SPEAKER_00: So the bracelet brooch thing, they called it a mothers set.
[17:31] SPEAKER_00: And so was it implied that Nisha had the mothers?
[17:34] SPEAKER_00: Is that what you took away?
[17:36] SPEAKER_02: I was confused.
[17:37] SPEAKER_02: I almost had you back it up because Well, yippers, we didn't.
[17:41] SPEAKER_02: We didn't do it.
[17:42] SPEAKER_02: It was just like it was so quick, and I was again the sneezing, right?
[17:47] SPEAKER_00: Okay, so we take it from the perspective that maybe Puffy has the daughter's brooch and Nisha has the mothers.
[17:55] SPEAKER_02: Hmm.
[17:56] SPEAKER_00: So what does that say?
[17:58] SPEAKER_00: And it was like, oh, they're a set's made, but they're twins.
[18:03] SPEAKER_00: So I'm still thinking that maybe they're they weren't really twins, or something's going on there, and they're these girls were split or something.
[18:09] SPEAKER_00: Or Nisha's like some alternate reality version of them.
[18:13] SPEAKER_00: I think there might be ones from the spirit world.
[18:17] SPEAKER_02: Maybe.
[18:18] SPEAKER_02: Okay.
[18:18] SPEAKER_00: It just implied that like maybe they weren't they're not actually twins, or there there's something there.
[18:24] SPEAKER_02: Right.
[18:24] SPEAKER_02: It was just like this quick little little comment, but also like Queen Mask was like, like, I've taken a lot of these from.
[18:32] SPEAKER_02: I was like, what did that mean?
[18:34] SPEAKER_00: Like she separated the kids, or was she killing people?
[18:37] SPEAKER_02: Right, right.
[18:38] SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
[18:38] SPEAKER_02: Again, I should have had you back it up.
[18:40] SPEAKER_02: I was just like, whoa.
[18:42] SPEAKER_02: I mean, yeah.
[18:43] SPEAKER_02: And but then also like Yuki was like, oh, like you just gotta like meet the the queen, and like, you know, we're gonna They're great.
[18:50] SPEAKER_02: She's gonna kick your butt.
[18:52] SPEAKER_02: And I was like, I don't know if she's as understanding as it was presented, but I guess we currently have her in our possession.
[18:58] SPEAKER_00: I don't know why.
[19:00] SPEAKER_02: Well, I guess we're gonna find out.
[19:02] SPEAKER_00: Well, I thought it was kind of weird that they arrested her.
[19:04] SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't I don't know.
[19:06] SPEAKER_00: We're taking her.
[19:07] SPEAKER_00: It seemed I'm big, it seemed like something Jay would do, but it seemed like a bit of a stretch to do it along with Nish and Puffy, like putting them in danger with this girl.
[19:17] SPEAKER_02: Or like, right, that they that she might learn a lot.
[19:21] SPEAKER_00: Right.
[19:22] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I don't know.
[19:23] SPEAKER_00: Again, uh the faceless queen, I don't do I think she's like a villain.
[19:27] SPEAKER_00: No, I do not.
[19:28] SPEAKER_02: But also they talked about species about the bracelet, they said the thing about the eastern outskirts.
[19:33] SPEAKER_00: But you're saying we're so we're already like in the southeastern part of the Earth Kingdom.
[19:38] SPEAKER_00: So clearly wherever these two originate from are further east.
[19:43] SPEAKER_00: Or I don't know, something like that.
[19:45] SPEAKER_02: Okay.
[19:46] SPEAKER_00: The eastern outskirts.
[19:47] SPEAKER_02: Hmm.
[19:48] SPEAKER_00: Tatooine is on the outer rim.
[19:50] SPEAKER_02: And then I just feel like like going back to all the Korra stuff.
[19:55] SPEAKER_00: I would love to talk about the Korra stuff because puppy seems like she's all in on Korra.
[20:00] SPEAKER_00: And then they very quickly kind of change their mind, like at the end, just by kind of seeing glimpses.
[20:07] SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
[20:08] SPEAKER_02: And I think that part of it is like their own immaturity, right?
[20:11] SPEAKER_02: Like you get it, you see a snapshot of something, and you feel like you have the full story and like all of all of that.
[20:18] SPEAKER_02: And clearly, I feel like there's just a big misunderstanding with Korra.
[20:22] SPEAKER_00: Classic, classic Korra.
[20:24] SPEAKER_00: So what did what was it like for you to see Korra in action?
[20:29] SPEAKER_02: I mean, I think I was just happy to see Korra, period.
[20:33] SPEAKER_02: I was like, uh, Korra.
[20:34] SPEAKER_00: How old do we think Korra was?
[20:35] SPEAKER_00: Because she seemed like she just had like a couple strips of like white hair, but kind of like a little bit of wrinkles.
[20:42] SPEAKER_02: I mean, I was like, is this 60-year-old Korra?
[20:44] SPEAKER_02: You think 60?
[20:45] SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
[20:46] SPEAKER_00: I thought maybe 50.
[20:48] SPEAKER_02: Okay.
[20:48] SPEAKER_02: But I don't know.
[20:49] SPEAKER_02: Well, what was it like for you to see Korra?
[20:51] SPEAKER_00: It was kind of emotional.
[20:53] SPEAKER_00: It was it was jarring for them to go into what I assume was like some sort of like pro-bending arena, but also a future industries factory?
[21:05] SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
[21:05] SPEAKER_02: Right.
[21:06] SPEAKER_00: So it was emotional to see Asami and watching them, and then you know, for Jay to be like, oh, this is an old mover.
[21:12] SPEAKER_00: And that like gave me PTSD of like all of book two of Korra being like, oh god, the movers.
[21:19] SPEAKER_00: Here comes Nuctuck.
[21:22] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was it was really interesting to see how much that that world had continued to evolve.
[21:28] SPEAKER_00: Like, we got these kind of futuristic looking skyscrapers.
[21:31] SPEAKER_00: Clearly, we were working with like bullet trains, like we got a view of trains.
[21:37] SPEAKER_00: And then to see Republic City again later on in like the vision or the it wasn't the spirit world, I don't know what it was.
[21:44] SPEAKER_00: The anomaly vision.
[21:46] SPEAKER_00: And to see that they had rebuilt Republic City, because as we left it in Book 4 Balance at the end, it's pretty much a huge chunk of it's like raised.
[21:55] SPEAKER_00: So it is like destroyed.
[21:57] SPEAKER_00: So then to see that they had rebuilt it, and then it was kind of like Thriving.
[22:01] SPEAKER_00: But yeah, to see Cora and then to watch her like jump off the cliff was like really cool.
[22:06] SPEAKER_00: Also, I didn't notice it.
[22:07] SPEAKER_00: I just thinking of it now.
[22:08] SPEAKER_00: Again, this episode, we should have rewound multiple times.
[22:12] SPEAKER_00: She was wearing a betrothal necklace.
[22:13] SPEAKER_00: Did you notice that?
[22:14] SPEAKER_00: No, I didn't.
[22:15] SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
[22:16] SPEAKER_00: Oh, we should rewind it.
[22:18] SPEAKER_00: Man.
[22:18] SPEAKER_00: We might have to rewatch this episode.
[22:19] SPEAKER_00: Hey, Yippers, um, rewatch episodes.
[22:22] SPEAKER_00: This is good.
[22:23] SPEAKER_00: We should have paused it.
[22:24] SPEAKER_00: She was wearing it.
[22:24] SPEAKER_00: So does that imply that she and Asami got together?
[22:28] SPEAKER_00: We'll assume.
[22:29] SPEAKER_00: But it's cool to watch her like jump off the cliff, use a glider, and fly towards Republic City.
[22:33] SPEAKER_00: But then I think there was a jump in time where she's like wrecking the place.
[22:37] SPEAKER_02: Right.
[22:38] SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
[22:38] SPEAKER_02: I mean, it is interesting.
[22:40] SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's kind of like like these societies that like has have been on Earth, right?
[22:44] SPEAKER_02: Where it's like, oh, like these, you know, all this like crazy stuff was here, and then we like, you know, built on top of it.
[22:52] SPEAKER_02: Or we destroyed it, and then you know, so I mean, I guess there's that idea because I was like, you know, when they're like down below, and yeah, the the movers are on and all this, you know, and Pubby's like, what is this?
[23:06] SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, oh, well, like obviously they would know, but I'm like, I guess not, because we're kind of Yeah, we're deciding that we're not talking about history.
[23:14] SPEAKER_00: Again, the equivalent is like talking about like the eight your early, very early 1800s.
[23:19] SPEAKER_00: And like, what of that time do you just have like ready to go, like in your brain?
[23:23] SPEAKER_02: But also is that happening at their society now?
[23:27] SPEAKER_02: Or like you know what I mean?
[23:28] SPEAKER_02: Like it's like, you know, you don't see cars, you don't see like we've kind of Right, we've regressed in some ways.
[23:34] SPEAKER_00: But I thought about this last time.
[23:35] SPEAKER_00: Like, I wonder if certain things in this world are progressing just in a different way.
[23:40] SPEAKER_00: You know, there's there are times in our in the world history where it seems like society takes a step back, but although also other aspects of the world kind of advance, you know, mathematics, medicine, things like that.
[23:52] SPEAKER_00: So I wonder if like, even though we've kind of regressed as a society of things like medicine's better.
[23:57] SPEAKER_02: Right.
[23:58] SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
[23:58] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, it was just kind of a trip to see Korra and then yeah, her destroying stuff, but I'm just like, I don't know.
[24:05] SPEAKER_02: I know Cora.
[24:06] SPEAKER_02: I feel like there was good intentions.
[24:08] SPEAKER_00: Well, so she's in the Avatar State, and so is she there on her own accord?
[24:13] SPEAKER_00: Is she trying to protect Republic City from something?
[24:18] SPEAKER_00: Was she being possessed by something that's like triggering the Avatar State?
[24:23] SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
[24:24] unknown: I don't know.
[24:24] SPEAKER_00: We're gonna have to keep watching.
[24:26] SPEAKER_00: But yeah, she's it was clearly like a really kind of disturbing section where she's in Republic City and like cars are like flying into hydrants and things are like exploding.
[24:37] SPEAKER_00: Like there's no one really around.
[24:39] SPEAKER_00: So it seems like maybe Republic City was the epicenter for the cataclysm.
[24:44] SPEAKER_02: Right.
[24:44] SPEAKER_02: Well, maybe the city was evacuated and then she had to like I don't know.
[24:50] SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
[24:51] SPEAKER_02: But I was sad that I've that the girls just quickly were like, I don't want to be a part of this.
[24:58] SPEAKER_00: And didn't seem like much curiosity.
[25:00] SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
[25:00] SPEAKER_02: Which I think kind of betrays what we had kind of developed so far.
[25:06] SPEAKER_02: So yeah, I'm excited to see what the next two bring.
[25:11] SPEAKER_00: So something about this series that I'm noticing is that each episode seems like a lot a decent amount of time passes.
[25:18] SPEAKER_00: Like we ended the last episode, and Kayoku's like, oh, to any and all havens, and then this episode starts with, oh, it's been weeks, and we haven't heard we've heard that term multiple times, like it's been weeks since Yuki was taken.
[25:30] SPEAKER_00: It's been weeks since.
[25:32] SPEAKER_00: So it's interesting that a decent amount of time is kind of passing.
[25:37] SPEAKER_00: Even though it kind of feels like that, but not really.
[25:41] SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
[25:41] SPEAKER_00: So that's kind of an interesting take on this storytelling.
[25:46] SPEAKER_02: Why do you think they're doing that?
[25:48] SPEAKER_00: I think it's like throwaway lines to make it not seem like big things just happen every other day.
[25:54] SPEAKER_02: Okay.
[25:54] SPEAKER_00: Because obviously it's like, oh, well, this is clearly we're gonna like progress in time until a big thing happens.
[26:00] SPEAKER_00: So I think there's like a maturity to that storytelling a little bit, like focus on moments when something of note happens and making it feel more natural, I guess.
[26:11] SPEAKER_02: Well, where do you think we're going from here?
[26:13] SPEAKER_00: Well, we're gonna go to the envoys, part one and part two.
[26:17] SPEAKER_02: Oh, you told me that it was a two-parter.
[26:20] SPEAKER_00: The next one, two-parter.
[26:21] SPEAKER_00: So the envoy showing up.
[26:23] SPEAKER_00: Okay, we taught we at the beginning of the episode, we hear that it's been weeks since the message has gone out, and they haven't heard anything from envoys, and then they just happened to show up at the same time.
[26:33] SPEAKER_00: Which obviously was a cool shot, like to get that this shot from the trailer.
[26:39] SPEAKER_00: Ma'am, are you surprised to see the bisons?
[26:41] SPEAKER_00: No, because we saw it in the trailer.
[26:43] SPEAKER_00: I don't remember.
[26:44] SPEAKER_00: The flying bison.
[26:45] SPEAKER_00: I was surprised because looking at them this time, and I don't know if it was changed from the trailer.
[26:51] SPEAKER_00: I doubt they would have changed it from the trailer, but did you notice that they're all kind of decked out in like Earth Kingdom regalia?
[26:56] SPEAKER_00: Who?
[26:57] SPEAKER_00: The bison.
[26:58] SPEAKER_00: No.
[26:58] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so they had- They have goggles on.
[27:00] SPEAKER_00: They had to travel through the harshlands.
[27:02] SPEAKER_00: They had like respirators, maybe they had goggles on, but yeah, we definitely are equipping ourselves to travel through these terrible deserts.
[27:11] SPEAKER_00: Also, I'm curious if the landscape between every haven is like that, or if it's gonna be different for e each one.
[27:19] SPEAKER_00: Like each one's gonna have like a different topographical storm they have to navigate through, and clearly Alora is more deserty, so it's like desert, but it's like one gonna be like an awful jungle, is one gonna be like torrential rain?
[27:33] SPEAKER_00: Is one gonna be snow?
[27:35] SPEAKER_00: I mean, that's what I would assume if I were to guess.
[27:39] SPEAKER_00: But did you pick up on the names of the two havens that we are being introduced to?
[27:43] SPEAKER_00: Oh no.
[27:44] SPEAKER_00: Really?
[27:45] SPEAKER_02: I'm not a super fan.
[27:47] SPEAKER_00: I can't retain Okay, well, Akasha, which we which which Karthik had made contact with or attempted to, so maybe there's like a stronger relation there or something.
[27:59] SPEAKER_02: They were the gearheads.
[28:01] SPEAKER_02: Okay.
[28:01] SPEAKER_00: They're the ones on the motorcycles.
[28:02] SPEAKER_00: What'd you think about them coming in on motorcycles?
[28:05] SPEAKER_00: I thought that was a vibe.
[28:06] SPEAKER_00: I didn't hate it.
[28:07] SPEAKER_00: It did feel kind of posed.
[28:09] SPEAKER_00: It felt this is the most Mad Max moment of the series so far.
[28:12] SPEAKER_00: Okay.
[28:13] SPEAKER_00: But then the bison, they were coming from New Bossing Say.
[28:17] SPEAKER_02: Oh right.
[28:19] SPEAKER_00: So, and they were calling them the historians, and clearly they looked more like they were coming from Avatar the Last Airbender.
[28:26] SPEAKER_00: You know, they they looked like they could have been hanging out with the Earth King.
[28:28] SPEAKER_00: They were kind of in robes.
[28:30] SPEAKER_00: It all kind of was a throwback to that.
[28:32] SPEAKER_00: So I don't know if New Bossing Se is trying to live their society more like things were pre-Cataclysm.
[28:39] SPEAKER_00: And maybe they're and you know, Bossingsei is always kind of screwy.
[28:43] SPEAKER_02: But there's like so much underground stuff.
[28:45] SPEAKER_02: So I don't know.
[28:46] SPEAKER_00: They could have been like underground, like physically underground, or underground, like this is a secret.
[28:51] SPEAKER_02: Well, both.
[28:52] SPEAKER_02: Well, what do you mean?
[28:53] SPEAKER_02: Well, I was thinking like, oh, like they have like a bunch of like underground like tunnels and the like the catacombs in Bossingsei?
[29:00] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I don't know.
[29:01] SPEAKER_02: Like that they could have preserved more of their like history and things.
[29:05] SPEAKER_00: So that's what I was I see.
[29:07] SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
[29:07] SPEAKER_00: So I'm like, yeah, yeah, they could probably keep going.
[29:09] SPEAKER_00: Do we think it's going to be at Bossingsei or do you think it's going to be around there?
[29:17] SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's called New Bossing Sei.
[29:18] SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna say it's Bossingsei.
[29:20] SPEAKER_02: Bossing Sei.
[29:21] SPEAKER_00: So yeah, that that is an interesting point that you know, Bossingsei, as we know, like the inner circle, like the society is definitely trying to tell a different narrative than maybe what's going on.
[29:30] SPEAKER_00: So is new Bossingsei maybe keeping their people like more oblivious to what's going on outside?
[29:36] SPEAKER_00: Are we doing that again with new bossing say?
[29:39] SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
[29:40] SPEAKER_02: We think we're gonna find out in part one and part two.
[29:43] SPEAKER_00: I think we are gonna find out part one, part two.
[29:45] SPEAKER_00: But are we gonna get more members of the Order of the White Lotus?
[29:48] SPEAKER_02: Yes.
[29:49] SPEAKER_00: Are they going to be from Akasha or Akasha and New Bossingsei?
[29:54] SPEAKER_02: Yes.
[29:56] SPEAKER_00: Ding dong, ding, dong, ding, ding, ding, dong.
[30:01] SPEAKER_02: Do you think sometimes we don't know when to quit?
[30:03] SPEAKER_00: No, I don't know when to quit.
[30:05] SPEAKER_00: Also, I have more of an emotional relationship with puppies Kalimba than I do with Geet or Ruhi.
[30:19] SPEAKER_00: Do you remember the name of the name of the song?
[30:23] SPEAKER_02: Jream.
[30:26] SPEAKER_02: Uh goodbye.
[30:28] SPEAKER_02: Uh come back to me.
[30:31] SPEAKER_00: Close.
[30:31] SPEAKER_02: Return to me.
[30:32] SPEAKER_02: Return to me.
[30:33] SPEAKER_02: You did it.
[30:35] SPEAKER_00: Am I a super fan?
[30:36] SPEAKER_00: You are.
[30:37] SPEAKER_00: Should I give you a badge?
[30:39] SPEAKER_02: Or I think we're gonna give you a bath.
[30:42] SPEAKER_00: I could I can do that.
[30:44] SPEAKER_00: Uh oh, do you guys do yippers?
[30:47] SPEAKER_00: Do you hear that?
[30:47] SPEAKER_00: That's the sound of us getting ready to call an avatar the last airbender or avatar verse.
[30:54] SPEAKER_02: To cold call.
[30:55] SPEAKER_00: Cold call a fan.
[30:56] SPEAKER_00: Okay, this person is a late adopter, late on the train to Avatar, but once they got in, they were all in.
[31:03] SPEAKER_00: They were getting tea.
[31:04] SPEAKER_00: They were I'm not there were like cosplaying in terms of their actions in life as Uncle Iroh.
[31:11] SPEAKER_00: He wasn't dressing like Iroh, but just taking on the tea.
[31:14] SPEAKER_00: Taking on the tea.
[31:15] SPEAKER_00: Okay, let's see what happens.
[31:18] SPEAKER_00: Again, this is a low percentage.
[31:20] SPEAKER_00: We don't usually call on the phone.
[31:23] SPEAKER_01: Well, hello, Jordan.
[31:24] SPEAKER_00: Dude, Nathan, it's me.
[31:26] SPEAKER_00: Uh you're on Yip Ya Poray and Avatar podcast.
[31:29] SPEAKER_00: What's going on, dude?
[31:30] SPEAKER_01: Oh, hey.
[31:31] SPEAKER_00: Hey, welcome.
[31:33] SPEAKER_00: Are you watching Avatar Seven Havens?
[31:37] SPEAKER_01: No.
[31:37] SPEAKER_00: What can we do?
[31:38] SPEAKER_00: Do you know what Avatar Seven Havens is?
[31:41] SPEAKER_01: I I do, yes.
[31:44] SPEAKER_00: Did you know?
[31:44] SPEAKER_00: I can help you get it.
[31:46] SPEAKER_00: I could do this.
[31:47] SPEAKER_00: I could do this for you.
[31:49] SPEAKER_01: Wow.
[31:49] SPEAKER_00: Okay, so what do you like about Avatar the Last Airbender?
[31:54] SPEAKER_01: I mean, besides Iroh.
[31:55] SPEAKER_00: See, I just said that! And Iroh's good, so what do you like about Iroh?
[32:02] SPEAKER_01: I mean he's like a real person.
[32:06] SPEAKER_01: Like he's gone through stuff, but he's still so much.
[32:11] SPEAKER_01: There's like so much so many levels.
[32:14] SPEAKER_01: You know, to use a Shrek analogy, he's he's got so many layers.
[32:20] SPEAKER_00: And he you know, when you leave him out in the sun, he uh gets all mushy and sprouts little white hairs.
[32:25] SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, but uh, you know, I bet he would love a parfait.
[32:30] SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna say.
[32:31] SPEAKER_00: Did Iroh inspire your love of tea, or were you already jumping on that that train?
[32:37] SPEAKER_01: I mean, I liked tea before, but I started putting less stuff in the tea.
[32:44] SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay.

[35:06] SPEAKER_00: They're going to.
[35:07] SPEAKER_00: I don't think they're gonna be super helpful.
[35:09] SPEAKER_02: I think they're gonna crack down.
