[0:34] Father, thank you for blessing our lives and for taking all the
[0:40] glory. We give you praise and we thank
[0:42] you in Jesus name, Amen. Please be seated.
[1:00] So I want to use about 40 to 45 minutes to teach us on worship
[1:12] so you can title this message true worshippers, true
[1:20] worshippers, true worshippers. So I'm going to try to help the
[1:29] church to understand what it means to be a worshipper or what
[1:36] it means to worship the Lord. In the book of John chapter 4,
[1:48] the verse 23 and 24, the Bible says the hour cometh and now is
[2:01] when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and
[2:09] in truth, for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
[2:22] When you read the scripture in the verse 24, the Bible goes on
[2:29] to say God is a spirit and they don't worship him, must worship
[2:35] Him in spirit and in truth. So now what does it mean to be a
[2:45] true worshipper #2 what is worship #3 what does it mean to
[2:55] worship in spirit and truth? In Hebrews chapter 10, the verse
[3:03] one, because in the Old Testament there were people who
[3:07] were also called worshippers. The Bible says, for the law,
[3:11] having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image
[3:14] of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they
[3:17] offered year by year, continually make the comments
[3:19] there unto perfect for them. Would they have ceased for them?
[3:25] Would they not have ceased to be offered?
[3:27] Because that's their worshippers.
[3:31] Are you here with me? Because that their worshippers,
[3:34] once perched, should have had no more conscience of sins.
[3:42] But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins
[3:50] every year. Now who is a true worshipper?
[3:54] According to the New Testament #1A true worshipper is a born
[4:02] again Christian First Peter chapter 2 the verse 6A belief a
[4:11] true worshipper is a born again Christian.
[4:15] Now remember the Bible says that for the hour comment.
[4:18] And now is one the true worshippers.
[4:20] So it was a prophecy that Jesus was giving about the church.
[4:24] What the true worshippers So worship the Father in spirit and
[4:28] in truth. Now did that mean that those who
[4:32] were before Jesus came like Abraham, Isaac and all these
[4:35] people never worship God? No, it was in a context
[4:40] referring to something very important.
[4:44] A true worshipper #1 is one who is born again #2A true
[4:47] worshipper always offers something making you a priest.
[4:52] So what I'm trying to say is that a true worshipper #2 is a
[4:55] priest unto God. A true worshipper is a priest
[5:01] unto God. Therefore, he offers something
[5:03] to God. Hallelujah.
[5:15] So every truly born again Christian is a true worshipper.
[5:28] So what does it mean to worship in spirit and in truth?
[5:36] Now the word spirit and in truth may be a little confusing, but
[5:43] in it's true understanding a lot of times people have separated
[5:49] that OK, in spirit is the Holy Spirit in truth which means in
[5:54] the Bible or in revelation. But actually when you read it
[5:58] carefully, there are words that cannot be separated from each
[6:02] other. Now the word spirit in the Greek
[6:05] is pneuma, which actually means spirit.
[6:09] Are you here with me? The word truth in the Greek is
[6:15] alethea, say alethea, and alethea means reality or realm.
[6:24] It means what it means, reality or realm.
[6:29] So now I'm just going to simplify this Scripture in this
[6:32] simplest form for you. Come back to John chapter 4, the
[6:36] verse 24. Now the Bible says God is a
[6:42] spirit. Remember I said spirit there
[6:43] means what the Holy Spirit right, And truth there means
[6:46] what truth there means what truth means, what realm or
[6:54] reality are you following? So now what the Bible was saying
[6:57] here is that God is a spirit and then that worship him must
[7:04] worship him in the spirit realm. Are you getting something here?
[7:13] Which means that worship that was done in the Old Testament
[7:17] was done in the canal or natural realm, so they had to kill an
[7:22] animal physically. The animal dies, The animal is
[7:28] either buried or is banned as an offering to Jesus, to the Lord.
[7:34] Sorry, but God was now referring to a certain kind of worship
[7:38] that has got nothing to do with an animal.
[7:42] So he says that God is a spirit and they that worship Him must
[7:47] worship him. In what?
[7:48] In the spirit realm? In the realm of the Holy Spirit,
[7:53] In the reality of the Holy Spirit.
[7:55] So in the book of Philippians chapter 3, the verse 1,
[8:01] Philippians 3/1 please, let's do it quickly.
[8:05] Now look, he says, finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord to
[8:09] write the same things to you, to me.
[8:11] Indeed it's not grievous, but for you it is safe.
[8:17] Please who's there? Now the Bible says that beware
[8:20] of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of concision.
[8:24] I wish I could explain this. Now look at the verse three.
[8:27] He says, oh, come here together. 12GO For we are the
[8:32] circumcision, which worship God in the spirit and rejoice in
[8:40] Christ, and have no confidence in the flesh.
[8:47] So remember I said the true worshippers worship God in the
[8:50] spirit realm, in the realm of the Holy Ghost.
[8:53] Now the Bible confirms here that we are a circumcision.
[8:57] A circumcision happened in Christ, so one were buried with
[9:01] him and were raised. Actually God caused a
[9:04] circumcision. So the Bible says we are the
[9:06] circumcision, the born again Christian which worship God in
[9:10] the spirit. So our location of worship is
[9:14] not a building but in the spirit.
[9:21] Are you following? Because you see, in the Old
[9:23] Testament, worship was limited to a location.
[9:28] If you were not in the temple, you couldn't worship because
[9:32] worship has got to do with offering something which was
[9:35] natural or physical animals. This are you following?
[9:41] But in the New Testament, there is no location.
[9:45] The location is the spiritual realm.
[9:47] So you can be in the toilet and connect.
[9:51] You can be in the classroom and connect, you see.
[9:53] So we are mobile worshippers without restrictions and today
[10:02] what we offer to God is not an animal.
[10:05] What we offer to God are called spiritual sacrifices.
[10:08] Now come with me to the book of first Peter chapter 2 the verse
[10:10] 6. Let's do it quickly.
[10:13] First Peter 26. Now the bamboo says Well, for
[10:19] also it is contained in Scripture.
[10:23] Behold, I lay a stone, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone.
[10:29] Elect precious, and he that believeth on him shall not be
[10:32] confounded. Now come to the verse 7.
[10:35] Now he says, that unto you therefore which believe his
[10:40] precious. Now come to the verse 55.
[10:45] Good, he says, ye also are what lively stones are built up a
[10:50] spiritual house. So God's building in the New
[10:53] Testament is spiritual and holy priesthood to OfferUp what
[11:00] spiritual sacrifices acceptable unto God by Jesus Christ.
[11:06] So what we offer is spiritual and our worship is spiritual.
[11:14] Are you following this? So what is worship?
[11:23] The word worship is from the Greek word proseconneo, say
[11:30] proseconneo. Yeah, proseconneo.
[11:33] So BROSKUNEO, proseconneo. The word proseconneo is a very
[11:41] interesting word. It means to kiss like a dog or
[11:49] to lick a master's hand, to kiss like a dog or to lick a master's
[12:00] hand. Now it is only a dog that knows
[12:12] you very well that will lick you.
[12:16] I yelled me. It's only a dog you have been
[12:21] kind to that will lick you. A dog does not lick the hand of
[12:24] a wicked master. A dog does not lick the hand of
[12:28] a stranger. If that dog licks the hands of a
[12:32] stranger, that dog wrong. You talk, Papa, A dog will lick
[12:39] the hand of a master who has been good to him.
[12:41] So anytime he's around, he just shows a certain kind of Anna by
[12:45] licking the master. So interestingly, the word
[12:48] worship is used the same word as one who licks or kisses his
[12:52] master's hand. When a dog licks or kisses his
[12:58] master's hand, it's a sign of appreciation.
[13:02] The way he reciprocates the goodness of his Master is to
[13:06] lick his hand. The way he shows his honor and
[13:10] reference to his Master is to lick his hand.
[13:16] So now when we're Speaking of worship here, we are saying that
[13:19] we have been born by a God who is now a Father.
[13:24] He makes us holy, makes us righteous, makes us sit together
[13:28] with him in Christ for gives us all our sins, past, present,
[13:31] future. Our reciprocation is to lick His
[13:35] hand is to kiss him. Are you following now because of
[13:48] my time? Worship, also number 2, is a
[13:52] declaration of a person's total submission, trust, and
[13:58] commitment to God. Worship is a declaration, Mr.
[14:06] Paulo. You're welcome.
[14:08] Worship is a declaration of a person's total submission,
[14:13] trust, and commitment to God. So now you realize that we are
[14:18] not even spoken about a song yet.
[14:23] So we will get to understand that singing is a byproduct of
[14:28] worship. The state of a person's heart
[14:32] now is revealed through a song. Are you follow what I'm
[14:36] teaching? So it's a declaration of a
[14:38] person's word. So when you are worshipping, it
[14:41] means I am giving my total submission to God, my trust and
[14:46] my commitment. So worship is submission, trust
[14:54] and commitment to God. That's worship.
[14:58] So if you sing and you are not committed to Him, you are not
[15:01] worshipping. If you sing and you don't trust
[15:05] the one you are singing to, you're not worshipping.
[15:09] If you sing and you are not devoted to the one you sing to,
[15:12] you're not worshipping. Are you following?
[15:14] So you see, worship OK is a contract.
[15:20] Singing is what signs it. So what you are singing, you
[15:28] are. It's like you have admitted that
[15:31] He's my Lord. I live for Him is my life out of
[15:36] that state of your heart when you bring out a song is a proof
[15:40] of your worship. Are you following me?
[15:43] So now #3 Worship is the offering of 1's life to the full
[15:49] control of God. So today we will, we will
[15:55] understand whether a true worshipper is one who only sings
[15:59] or a true worshipper is one who devotes himself to the Lord who
[16:02] understand by the time we are double this teaching.
[16:06] So worship is the offering of 1's life to the full control of
[16:09] God. And hear me look, Pastor Elvis
[16:11] Ajiman has written a book on worship.
[16:15] Everybody must get that book if I'm going to get the book to the
[16:18] library. That book is a very powerful
[16:21] book. The whole world must read that
[16:23] book. It's a very powerful book.
[16:30] I was reading that book and God started teaching me some
[16:32] wonderful stuff. There's more in God.
[16:36] I'm going to get that book for for you to to get them.

[16:57] So worship is the offering of 1's life to the full control of
[16:59] God. So if God only controls your
[17:02] lip, but he he does not control your sexual organs, you are not
[17:06] worshiping. So Hallelujah songs are only a
[17:19] part of worship #4 in worship we throw our whole life before the
[17:30] King to kiss his feet like Mary Magdalene.
[17:36] The very thing that Mary did when she used her hair, you
[17:41] know, dipped her hair in a one year salary.
[17:48] Perfume. You know, there are perfumes
[17:51] that are very expensive. It's not the one you have been
[17:53] buying. The one you are buying is 15
[17:56] CDs, 30 CDs, 50 CDs and you're lubinier Cano.
[18:00] There are perfume that cost $5000.
[18:05] That one, it is very it's like this.
[18:08] They don't spray it. You just dip your hands and just
[18:10] do this. That's all.
[18:11] The perfume will speak for itself.
[18:18] Qatar, that's what the perfume I'm talking about, she used one
[18:25] year's, the went of that perfume was one year's wage and she
[18:31] dipped her hair, poured it on the master's feet, used her
[18:34] hair. You know your hair signifies
[18:36] your glory for her to use her hair to wipe the feet of Jesus,
[18:40] he says Lord, my glory belongs to you.
[18:42] Do you understand what I'm saying?
[18:45] Feet signifies dominion. He says, look, I am submitting
[18:50] my glory to your dominion. That's what she was doing.
[18:53] The perfume was signifying her life, the value of what she
[18:58] possesses. He says look it is nothing
[18:59] before you. Every true worshiper will waste
[19:02] on Jesus because the Bible called it waste.
[19:04] They said how can you do this waste?
[19:06] We can use it to feed the poor. They call it waste.
[19:09] If you don't waste on Jesus you are not worshiping.
[19:11] Are you following me now? You your house is just here.
[19:18] Why do you have to board car and and come to a church that is one
[19:21] hour drive, 3 hours drive. We call it wasting on Jesus.
[19:29] Are you following me? You are learning.
[19:31] Now I'm going to say something. Are you ready for this?
[19:34] There is no worship if there is no bowing.
[19:42] Matthew chapter 4, the verse 8 to 10.
[19:45] There is no worship when there is no word bowing, which means
[19:50] that in worship posture becomes a major communication tool even
[19:58] more than your words. The in worship posture becomes
[20:09] the major communication tool even more than words.
[20:14] Look, in the next 27 minutes, I'm going to, I'm going to
[20:17] really enlighten you on some stuff that will bless you.
[20:24] So look at me. If postures, if let's assume we
[20:28] are in a church, we are offering worship to God.
[20:30] We are singing songs of glory, songs of worship.
[20:33] Please pay attention here. How you behave, the postures you
[20:39] observe really matters in the worship.
[20:42] For example, we are singing, we give you glory, Lord, as we
[20:45] honor you. And then you're just standing
[20:47] there. We give you glory, Lord, as we
[20:49] honor you. Anybody can do that.
[20:53] Are you, once you add kneeling, lifting of hands, bowing down,
[20:59] lying prostate, it changes the frequency and the potency of
[21:04] that worship. Are you following me?
[21:06] So look, do you know in the book of Matthew chapter 4, the verse
[21:09] 8 to 10 Now come there, come there, and the devil ticket him
[21:13] into the exceeding high mountain, and showeth him all
[21:17] the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them.
[21:19] Now look at that, he says and said to him, All these things
[21:23] will I give you, If thou shalt fall down and worship me, fall
[21:34] down and worship me. So Satan was looking for a bow
[21:40] from Jesus, even if it was a quick one.
[21:44] And I'm going to be teaching you why these postures matter, why
[21:48] spirits require worship. And I'm getting to a place here
[21:54] how some of our fathers ignorantly enter into covenants
[21:58] through worship without knowing. Have you noticed that Satan
[22:06] requires worship and he knows you may not give it directly to
[22:09] him, so he finds a way of making you give to him.
[22:12] You go for a shattawale concert and then lift the song.
[22:14] You like that he did like this. You just watch him Shattawale
[22:19] and the God of Shattawale. I know you're not happy, but
[22:24] unfortunately you're in church. You go to a shrine.
[22:26] Have you noticed the moment you step into a shrine, normally the
[22:31] door of the shrine is smaller than you, so you have to do it.
[22:36] You didn't know that that bow you bow before you entered was
[22:42] actually a language in the spirit.
[22:44] You didn't know that Satan was establishing a covenant which
[22:51] you didn't know. You are learning something.
[23:00] So look, postures matters in the book of Ephesians of the three
[23:05] verse 14, Apostle Paul teaches us, he says, for this course, I
[23:11] bound my knees to the Lord, I bow my knees.
[23:14] So look, posture matters in worship.
[23:18] Psalm 95, the verse 6, Psalm 95, the verse 6, it says, oh, come,
[23:26] let us worship and bow. Let us kneel before the Lord and
[23:30] make her so bowing, kneeling, lifting holy hands, sitting on
[23:40] the floor, lying prostate are all pushes of worship.
[23:43] That increases the potency of your worship.
[23:48] So there is no worship without what bowing and pushes are we
[23:53] learning? So don't just sink.
[23:57] Express a pusher. I've told you how pushers are
[24:00] very important. If a policeman says lift up your
[24:02] hands and you try even taking your passport to prove to him
[24:08] that you are you are an American citizen, what does it tell the
[24:11] policeman you are threat you may die just because of a posture?
[24:19] Do you know postures can even offend people when you're not
[24:21] spoken? If I look at you and I do this
[24:23] to you, did I say anything? But you're angry.
[24:30] I didn't say anything but you're offended.
[24:31] Posture poster then Nigeria will do it like this poster.
[24:39] If I do this, this same thing I used to do this, it meant
[24:42] something. If I do this, it also means
[24:44] thumbs up, thumb this and this how poster That's a man poster.
[24:57] If you do this, it means approve.
[25:00] If you do it, it means. Can you imagine posture.
[25:05] You put your hands on your back. It means a sign of respect.
[25:11] Your friend, your father. He's talking to you.
[25:13] Then you kneel down. What is he telling him?
[25:15] I'm not arguing with you. But if he's talking to you and
[25:17] I'm done like this, what's the posture?
[25:24] Waka in Summindi, I don't value you.
[25:29] So do you know that your language is beyond a voice, your
[25:36] gestures communicates. That's why I said don't do
[25:42] worship standing aloof. You are not worshiping.
[25:46] Don't do pray and say me, I don't know how to dance.
[25:51] Who says you have to be skillful?
[25:52] A skillful dancer? No.
[25:56] Who says you have to be a skillful dancer?
[25:59] Who says you need to have a good voice?
[26:02] There is no scripture that tells us you have to think in Ki.
[26:05] That's why God has raised people.

[26:14] No listen, no, it's very important because look, when we
[26:17] are in worship, like a worship meeting, OK?
[26:20] It's not a one man show. In fact, there are no buckets in
[26:24] heaven. I hope you are aware there are
[26:28] no buckets in heaven. Everybody's a musician.
[26:36] No, this is a very important thing that we have to learn.
[26:39] So the next time you're doing worship, you don't seclude
[26:42] yourself. You are out of alignment and out
[26:44] of order. Are you following me?
[26:50] Look, you see many people disrespect God in His presence
[26:54] in several ways without knowing. But it's good that you listen to
[26:56] a teaching like this. Stop disrespecting God.
[27:01] We don't bring our arrogance into church.
[27:05] You can't pocket in his presence.
[27:12] I follow, I'm teaching. Look, you cannot be whatsapping
[27:16] people in worship If you cannot do that before a president.
[27:21] You couldn't do that before the president of president and
[27:27] people don't know that. You see, the one you came for
[27:30] him to bless you is the one you are dishonoring.
[27:33] You are looking for a job. You are disrespecting the CEO
[27:36] who employ you. That's what many Christians are
[27:40] doing to God. She's think chanting, cracking
[27:47] jokes in worship, how we are supposed to be lost in the
[27:52] presence of God. Are we learning something?
[27:58] Now? Look, worship means I openly
[28:02] declare that I am under your authority.
[28:05] That's worship. Worship means I openly declare
[28:11] that I am under your authority and your control and your power.
[28:19] So when you are worshipping God, you are declaring something to
[28:22] him either in your action or in your words or your songs.
[28:26] You are saying, Lord, I am under your authority, I'm under your
[28:29] control and I'm under your power and I'm under your covering.
[28:38] Next point to note, attitude is worship and worship is attitude.
[28:45] Attitude is worship and worship is attitude.
[28:48] So worship is not first a song, it's your attitude before God.
[28:53] If you don't respect God in your attitude, your son will also not
[28:56] respect him. So you don't wait for someone,
[29:03] say, lift up your hands before you lift your hands.
[29:05] No, no, no, no, no, no. Look, that's why we must all
[29:07] grow individually and personally.
[29:09] So when we meet like that, a group of mature people who
[29:12] understand reference, who understand postures, who
[29:14] understand respect, who understand Anna and how when
[29:18] they're the presence of God. So worship leaders won't suffer.
[29:25] Sometimes worship leaders must, must actually find a way of
[29:30] tuning you. It's not supposed to be so.
[29:43] Next point. No.
[29:44] All right, so we said attitude is worship.
[29:46] Worship is attitude, which means worship begins with a life of
[29:50] total surrender to God. That's the attitude of worship.
[29:53] It begins with a life of total surrender to God.

[30:22] Worship is humouring God with and in your heart.
[30:29] Worship is humouring God with and in your heart.
[30:34] Worship is humouring God with and in your heart.
[30:36] Worship is humouring God with and in your heart.
[30:40] So if anything you do does not honor God, you're not
[30:46] worshipping. I've told you several times in
[30:48] this meeting that worship is not only songs and worship is not
[30:52] just songs. Do you know that you can honor
[30:56] God in the way you give your offering?
[31:01] Look, do you know you have to prepare your offering before you
[31:03] come to church on Sunday? I'm talking to serious
[31:07] Christians here. You must prepare your offering
[31:12] tomorrow. I'm giving God this amount.
[31:14] It's in your envelope or it's in your heart.
[31:16] You have planned it. Look, once we say lift up your
[31:20] offering and you are not checking how much you have,
[31:33] you didn't honor God in an act of doing this.
[31:37] Some of this honored God by giving him peanut because we
[31:41] think he's some small boy. Do you know that sometimes you
[31:43] go and do washing Bay, you finish paying and a small boy is
[31:46] following you and he's following you for what?
[31:48] Tip off. Then you just check.
[31:51] That's how we treat God. We give him tip off.
[31:56] God, this is some tip off for you for sure.
[32:00] How far? Wow.
[32:07] Look, there's a way you behave. God will take you serious.
[32:14] It's not everybody God can boast about.
[32:17] Does a man called Joe got boasted?
[32:18] He says there's not like him. Your attitude can make God boast
[32:23] about you. It's not a very Christian God
[32:24] boasts about. I'm telling you there's a way
[32:28] you can behave in your Christian experience because it's this
[32:32] one. I salute him, this guy, the way
[32:37] he harness me. He's a special one amongst all
[32:40] my children. He's a special one.
[32:45] Hear me? Oh, God doesn't show favoritism,
[32:50] but he has his favorite. Did you hear me?

[32:58] favoritism, but he has what favorites.
[33:05] I'm telling you truth. The quality of all Christians in
[33:10] their expressions are not the same.
[33:12] Our salvation is the same. You have eternal life, I have
[33:14] eternal life. You have the Holy Ghost, I have
[33:15] the Holy Ghost. You have forgiveness.
[33:17] I have forgiveness. I am seated, you are seated.
[33:19] But in the way we express our understanding of our Christian
[33:25] life, the quality is not the same when we are in church.
[33:30] The way some take worship serious, it's not like how
[33:33] others take it serious. The way some take offering
[33:36] serious, it's not how everybody takes it serious.
[33:39] The way some take tightening serious, it's not how everybody
[33:41] takes it serious. The way some take their service
[33:43] in department serious, it's not how everybody takes a serious.
[33:46] The way some takes Sunday service serious, it's not how
[33:48] some take it serious. There are some Sunday services
[33:51] that struggle. There are others.
[33:54] They they are anticipating. When is the next Sunday?
[33:58] God is watching all these things, measuring all these
[34:00] things. Look, if God puts a thermometer
[34:02] or a measuring skill on you, what will be the skill, The
[34:09] scale of your love, the scale of your heart for Him, the scale of
[34:13] your sacrifices? What will be the scale?
[34:19] Look, I may not be there, but I know I'm not below average.
[34:24] I'm not below average because when I check the scriptures, not
[34:27] speaking out of self righteousness, when I check the
[34:30] scriptures, I'm obedience. I am telling you I'm not below
[34:32] average. And if you are below average,
[34:35] you have to rise because God checks the heart of everybody.
[34:42] God knows those who respect Him and those who don't respect him.
[34:46] God knows those who honor Him and those who don't.
[34:49] He knows those who reference Him and those who don't.
[34:57] Hallelujah. Do you know that you dishonor
[35:00] God in worship when you come to church late?
[35:04] In case you just entered, it's not you.
[35:10] Just in case you just entered, you're not the one I'm preaching
[35:12] about. It was part of my note before
[35:14] you entered. If you can, go for interviews
[35:20] early. If you can go to the airport
[35:24] early because you're afraid you'll lose your flight, If you
[35:29] can go to your office early because you want to avoid
[35:31] traffic. God deserves better.
[35:33] Please tell three people for me, God deserves better.
[35:43] Now. This is why worship is a big
