[0:00] Speaker 1: Hello, gorgeous. It's Lala Kent. Welcome to Untraditionally, Lala, Hello, gorgeous, Hello,
[0:08] Speaker 1: Welcome to the bonus episode of Untraditionally Lala. I have
[0:12] Speaker 1: tt here. By the time you guys hear this episode,
[0:17] Speaker 1: San Antonio will have played another game. If they play
[0:21] Speaker 1: as sorry as they played on Wednesday night, it will
[0:24] Speaker 1: be over. It will be That is absolutely correct. How
[0:28] Speaker 1: you give up a thirty point lead is just beyond me.
[0:31] Speaker 2: But I'm going to put it in the air, just
[0:33] Speaker 2: right here. Fantastic game. I'm so excited for Game six.
[0:38] Speaker 2: Put it in the air.
[0:39] Speaker 1: It was. It's been a really good series. But I
[0:41] Speaker 1: just you know, halftime is not a friend of the Spurs.
[0:46] Speaker 1: They come back looking like the aliens from Moron Mountain
[0:52] Speaker 1: in space jam went into the locker room and stole
[0:55] Speaker 1: all their talent.
[0:57] Speaker 3: And their confidence.
[0:59] Speaker 1: You know, I just I don't like the Knicks. I
[1:01] Speaker 1: just I'm going to say it here and now. I
[1:03] Speaker 1: was cool with them until I saw the way some
[1:05] Speaker 1: of the fans acted after Game three, and I was
[1:11] Speaker 1: appalled and grossed out. And then I was especially appalled
[1:14] Speaker 1: and grossed out that the Knicks organization and the players
[1:17] Speaker 1: did not issue a statement to say anyway, let's move on.
[1:23] Speaker 1: I spiraled about it all night. My legs went numb,
[1:25] Speaker 1: I dreamed about it, had nightmares about it.
[1:28] Speaker 2: I fell asleep at like nine p thirty, like right
[1:30] Speaker 2: after the game because depression set in.
[1:32] Speaker 1: I just don't know why I'm so into it.
[1:35] Speaker 2: It's the finals, come on, No, but I don't baseball,
[1:39] Speaker 2: Like I won't sleep when the World Series comes and
[1:41] Speaker 2: it's say even launch this, but god, it's good.
[1:45] Speaker 1: It is good. It's so word. The series is super good.
[1:47] Speaker 2: And if it brings everyone together good or bad New
[1:50] Speaker 2: York bad, I'm really everybody's on the same page, kind.
[1:54] Speaker 3: Of like Love Island.
[1:54] Speaker 2: Come on, we're all talking about the same thing. It
[1:58] Speaker 2: talking about Love Island at all these people I tried
[2:01] Speaker 2: to watch, I couldn't watch.
[2:03] Speaker 1: I've heard people talk about it. It's really bad this season.
[2:07] Speaker 3: It really is.
[2:07] Speaker 2: I've seen so many people talking about how everything is forced.
[2:10] Speaker 2: And last season was just like.
[2:12] Speaker 1: Like the people obviously watched other people come up, yeah,
[2:16] Speaker 1: and they just try to take on that. Yeah.
[2:18] Speaker 2: There's there's a lot of people on there that like,
[2:23] Speaker 2: you know, when they get on there and say I
[2:25] Speaker 2: knew somebody and they were putting up a front like
[2:27] Speaker 2: now they're making videos and they're like this person I'm
[2:29] Speaker 2: friends with and this.
[2:30] Speaker 1: Is not who everyone's wanting.
[2:33] Speaker 2: People are doing that, and they're like they're fake, They're
[2:35] Speaker 2: not this, they're not that. There's a lot of there's
[2:38] Speaker 2: just a lot.
[2:39] Speaker 1: There's a lot. Well yeah, yeah, but people are upsets.
[2:43] Speaker 1: It's on like twelve days a week.
[2:46] Speaker 3: It's on for too many days of the week.
[2:49] Speaker 2: Like if you miss two days, they're like, you got
[2:50] Speaker 2: to catch up, and I'm like, catch a catchp hours.
[2:54] Speaker 1: I have a life, thank you, yeah, because then you
[2:55] Speaker 1: you play catch up, but then that night there's another one. Right,
[2:58] Speaker 1: it's like three televis.
[3:01] Speaker 2: Is Wednesdays and Saturdays. And I'm sorry, I'm not there's
[3:05] Speaker 2: too many games on. I got the Stanley Cup, i
[3:07] Speaker 2: got the NBA Finals. I'm not watching Love Island for
[3:10] Speaker 2: these bombshells.
[3:12] Speaker 1: If there's if there's a game on, I'm not watching
[3:16] Speaker 1: anything else. And by the way, don't hit me up
[3:18] Speaker 1: and be like want to watch the game when it's
[3:21] Speaker 1: five thirty and the game starts at five thirty, because
[3:23] Speaker 1: now I'm hunkered down. You got to let me know.
[3:25] Speaker 1: I'll get to you four thirty five o'clock gets situated
[3:30] Speaker 1: in my spot that I'll move during halftime and then
[3:34] Speaker 1: replant myself in the same spot. All right, moving on,
[3:38] Speaker 1: So this bonus episode, you guys have been leaving comments
[3:42] Speaker 1: and voicemails and all of the things, and this listener
[3:46] Speaker 1: she sent a DM and I loved it so much
[3:51] Speaker 1: and it's perfect to talk about right now because it
[3:54] Speaker 1: is along the lines of alcohol. And I'm going to
[3:58] Speaker 1: Vegas today to celebrate the opening of vander Pump Hotel
[4:03] Speaker 1: in Insanity. I'm so excited. It's just like a quick
[4:07] Speaker 1: overnight trip. But as you know, Vegas is driven by alcohol.
[4:12] Speaker 1: It gets intense and it's definitely a different experience when
[4:16] Speaker 1: you're not drinking. But that's okay, okay, she said, Hi,
[4:19] Speaker 1: Laala and Easton. I lost my father young and sudden.
[4:22] Speaker 1: I took it really hard and leaned all the way
[4:24] Speaker 1: into alcohol. I just had my third baby and want
[4:27] Speaker 1: to embrace being one hundred percent sober. I saw Parier,
[4:30] Speaker 1: which is a sparkling water for those of you who
[4:32] Speaker 1: don't know, helped you when you were craving a drink,
[4:35] Speaker 1: So I tried it is my favorite part. My god,
[4:39] Speaker 1: it was perfectly crisp. When I was craving alcohol. It
[4:43] Speaker 1: helped pass the moment. So my question is how many
[4:46] Speaker 1: perriers did you drink? At the beginning? I am wanting
[4:49] Speaker 1: like ten a day and they are not cheap anything
[4:52] Speaker 1: else to help? And then she wrote the vape question mark.
[4:56] Speaker 3: Yeah, Tron, I try to get off that. Don't pick
[4:58] Speaker 3: up the vape if you can.
[5:00] Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. For me, it was like a pick
[5:03] Speaker 1: your poison poison. That's where it was for me.
[5:06] Speaker 2: And I'm still picking that poison of the vape and I.
[5:12] Speaker 3: Am now on.
[5:15] Speaker 1: Trying to get rid of that, and that's honestly harder
[5:17] Speaker 1: than liquor for me right now. So I want to
[5:19] Speaker 1: say this. When I went to it was in within
[5:23] Speaker 1: my first year of sobriety, and I I was still,
[5:28] Speaker 1: you know, filming the show that I was on, and
[5:32] Speaker 1: that also had a lot of drinking in the environment.
[5:34] Speaker 1: In my life was just very much centered around like
[5:39] Speaker 1: going out and not partying, but drinks around. And I
[5:44] Speaker 1: remember going to a meeting and I had hit a
[5:49] Speaker 1: friend's vape at the time, and I was like, oh,
[5:51] Speaker 1: this is kind of nice and it's helping, you know,
[5:55] Speaker 1: not crave the alcohol, Like I feel like I can
[5:58] Speaker 1: go out and if I have the vape with me,
[6:00] Speaker 1: I'm not thinking about a drink. So during the meeting,
[6:06] Speaker 1: like before people you know, go, they get a coffee,
[6:09] Speaker 1: they're talking before the meeting starts, and I had the
[6:13] Speaker 1: vape with me and this woman said how long do
[6:16] Speaker 1: you plan on smoking that? And I was like, not long,
[6:19] Speaker 1: it's just to help me. You know, I'm only in
[6:21] Speaker 1: my first year of sobriety. And they go. I was like,
[6:26] Speaker 1: but if I can give up alcohol, there's gonna be
[6:30] Speaker 1: no problem. She goes, have you ever given up heroin? Before?
[6:34] Speaker 1: I said no, I was a drinker, and she goes, well,
[6:39] Speaker 1: I know that vape is the equivalent of trying to
[6:43] Speaker 1: give up heroin. It's on that level of addiction. And
[6:46] Speaker 1: she was absolutely right. So as much as I want
[6:48] Speaker 1: to say yes, the vape helped me not pick up
[6:51] Speaker 1: a drink, an entirely different addiction that even though I
[6:58] Speaker 1: don't act different, it's so freaking bad for you and anybody.
[7:03] Speaker 2: You say, you don't act different, But if you don't
[7:05] Speaker 2: hit that thing for a day, yeah different.
[7:08] Speaker 1: If you right, you become addicted. And when you don't
[7:11] Speaker 1: have it very short fused. I get really depressed. Like
[7:14] Speaker 1: I'll be driving and be like, oh my god, I'm
[7:18] Speaker 1: just like, this is the worst day I've ever had
[7:21] Speaker 1: in my entire life.
[7:24] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I would say, you love that tree.
[7:29] Speaker 3: You still are drinking like nine periods a day.
[7:31] Speaker 1: I wish I was drinking nine periods a day.
[7:34] Speaker 3: The hell is drinking them all?
[7:36] Speaker 1: I'm well, there are nine day you're over nine.
[7:40] Speaker 3: Okay.
[7:40] Speaker 2: See, I was just gonna say, but they are expensive.
[7:43] Speaker 2: My thing would be if that if that is like,
[7:46] Speaker 2: let's talk about this, get a machine, like a carbonated machine.
[7:51] Speaker 1: Actually, I love that Easton So I worked with Shark
[7:57] Speaker 1: Ninja during the time that they came out with their
[7:59] Speaker 1: Ninja Thirsty and it makes not only super crisp and
[8:03] Speaker 1: bubbly sparkling water. You can choose this setting, like if
[8:07] Speaker 1: you want high, medium or low bubbles. They make sodas
[8:14] Speaker 1: you can I love you can mix in flavors of
[8:17] Speaker 1: your soda water like that. I would say, definitely recommend
[8:21] Speaker 1: getting yeah, because to save money and it's better for
[8:24] Speaker 1: the environment, better and you.
[8:26] Speaker 3: Just it's just right in the house. It is.
[8:29] Speaker 2: That would be mine because I yeah, you really did
[8:33] Speaker 2: lay into sparkling water.
[8:36] Speaker 1: I just went dead just water. I just chug water. Yeah,
[8:40] Speaker 1: and I've never been a sparkling water drinker. But let
[8:43] Speaker 1: me tell you. When I got sober. Yeah, at the
[8:46] Speaker 1: end of like a rough day, I take two cans
[8:49] Speaker 1: of Perrier up to my bedroom, turn on my show
[8:51] Speaker 1: I get I do like my nightly routine. When I
[8:54] Speaker 1: crack a Perrier, I am like, oh my god, this
[8:57] Speaker 1: is the best night ever.
[8:58] Speaker 2: I fell into a lot of life the ministas too,
[9:01] Speaker 2: like the mini cans, because I was like, all right,
[9:03] Speaker 2: I'm drinking too much.
[9:04] Speaker 3: Mini can't. But that was my vice.
[9:07] Speaker 2: Like going out and just grabbing one of those kind
[9:09] Speaker 2: of took the edge off.
[9:10] Speaker 3: I don't know what it is.
[9:11] Speaker 2: It's kind of like going to the fridge and grabbing
[9:13] Speaker 2: a beer, like okay, I'll grab the pop.
[9:15] Speaker 1: It's just that I'm able to have like non alcoholic beer.
[9:19] Speaker 1: It depends on your personality. You've been sober long enough
[9:23] Speaker 1: where like you, I could do it even at the beginning.
[9:26] Speaker 3: See I couldn't.
[9:28] Speaker 1: And now you feel like I'm more honest than I can.
[9:31] Speaker 1: You're more honest in your surpride and my sopriet.
[9:34] Speaker 2: Yeah, so now I can like last night, I was
[9:36] Speaker 2: playing video games after just after the game, just depress
[9:41] Speaker 2: and I was like, God, I need a beer like
[9:44] Speaker 2: cracked one little zero heine.
[9:47] Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's not my go to. No, it's not
[9:50] Speaker 1: my go to at all. Like when I have different
[9:52] Speaker 1: drinks for when I go out or when I'm stressed,
[9:55] Speaker 1: like Perryer is, like it's been a long day, I
[9:58] Speaker 1: gotta have something that's then if I go out, it's
[10:02] Speaker 1: usually like a pineapple juice, splash of soda to heane
[10:05] Speaker 1: around the rim short glass with a lime I've started
[10:07] Speaker 1: to get.
[10:10] Speaker 3: Dina.
[10:10] Speaker 2: She ordered it for me and she's like, you're gonna
[10:12] Speaker 2: like it. I promise. It's pineapple juice with just a
[10:15] Speaker 2: like a half of a red Bull. A red Bull, though,
[10:20] Speaker 2: I will here's a sleepy guy and I just need
[10:26] Speaker 2: energy just to feel like not to be a you.
[10:29] Speaker 1: Know what in Vegas though, I'll probably take shots of
[10:32] Speaker 1: red Bull.
[10:32] Speaker 2: Yeah, Like it's just because I get so tired and
[10:36] Speaker 2: I just need something to like lift me up and
[10:39] Speaker 2: it's a rock and a hard spot because I'm out late.
[10:41] Speaker 2: If I have the red Bull, I'm not going to
[10:42] Speaker 2: be able to sleep very well. But if I don't
[10:44] Speaker 2: have the red bull. I'm just gonna be falling asleep
[10:46] Speaker 2: in the booth with them.
[10:47] Speaker 1: Yea. So pick your plays in there too.
[10:48] Speaker 3: So yeah, I like.
[10:51] Speaker 2: I like the idea of at home sparkling water saving money.
[10:56] Speaker 1: I think that's a good alternative.
[10:59] Speaker 2: I think it's It's really like I might go buy toothpicks,
[11:02] Speaker 2: not to make it about me, but for like the
[11:04] Speaker 2: handsome mouth for advice, and that's the thing, so my
[11:07] Speaker 2: hand to mouth. It's like, okay, maybe if I grab toothpicks,
[11:10] Speaker 2: the hand of mouth of hitting a vape will go away.
[11:12] Speaker 1: What is that? What is the thing that Dina bought us?
[11:15] Speaker 1: It's like it almost looks like a whistle.
[11:17] Speaker 2: And then I don't know what it's called, but we
[11:20] Speaker 2: can't find it and we'll post a picture of it.
[11:22] Speaker 3: But it's a whistle.
[11:23] Speaker 1: It looks like a whistle. You wear it around your
[11:25] Speaker 1: neck and during the time.
[11:26] Speaker 3: Of like it unscrews and it has these little.
[11:29] Speaker 1: As he hits the nape. How funny is that?
[11:31] Speaker 3: Stop talking to me?
[11:33] Speaker 2: Do time?
[11:34] Speaker 3: Do time?
[11:35] Speaker 2: But it's like unscrews and it comes with like little
[11:39] Speaker 2: flavored circular cylinders.
[11:43] Speaker 1: And you hit it.
[11:45] Speaker 2: Nothing is but you get like whatever flavor you had.
[11:48] Speaker 2: So it's like the hand of mouth. I mine flew
[11:50] Speaker 2: off the things.
[11:51] Speaker 3: I gotta look for it in the house.
[11:52] Speaker 1: By the way, though, that did help a lot.
[11:55] Speaker 2: It did also the one thing I will see more
[11:58] Speaker 2: committed guys. What I have one more thing that could
[12:03] Speaker 2: very much help you, because me and three buddies actually
[12:08] Speaker 2: started a company.
[12:10] Speaker 3: This is what I've been working on, as well as
[12:11] Speaker 3: some other things.
[12:12] Speaker 2: But it's called zuit zo t you started it. Mm hm,
[12:20] Speaker 2: I'm a part of it now. I didn't. They asked me.
[12:23] Speaker 2: I was along for the ride. They're good friends in Utah.
[12:26] Speaker 2: We were talking about it. They are we're all addicted
[12:29] Speaker 2: to the vape, trying to get off of it. So
[12:31] Speaker 2: they went into the lab they told me about it.
[12:33] Speaker 2: I was like, this is amazing. And then they were
[12:35] Speaker 2: just like, well, we would love for you to be
[12:37] Speaker 2: a part of it. And I come of it. Short,
[12:40] Speaker 2: long story short, They were like, we would really love
[12:42] Speaker 2: for you to be a part of it. So I said,
[12:44] Speaker 2: let's do it. So we've been working on this last week.
[12:47] Speaker 2: They went in and were doing flavors. I was on
[12:49] Speaker 2: the phone with them and all these things. But zoit
[12:52] Speaker 2: there's four like ingredients. Okay, we just got them in
[12:57] Speaker 2: so I won't be hitting the vape soon. But here
[12:59] Speaker 2: it is is zuit. There are four ingredients. I was
[13:06] Speaker 2: just sprinting.
[13:07] Speaker 1: Oh did you run to your house?
[13:08] Speaker 3: Yeah?
[13:08] Speaker 2: I had to get them. But it's alpha GPC, el
[13:13] Speaker 2: Tyrason caffeine. Are you gonna help me read it? Because
[13:19] Speaker 2: I'm not good reading.
[13:21] Speaker 1: I don't know Easton ELI nine. Okay, and you just oh,
[13:29] Speaker 1: they're just like little little pouches. They're little pouches, but
[13:32] Speaker 1: they're not they're na.
[13:35] Speaker 3: They're all natural.
[13:37] Speaker 1: I'm going to try these. Can I take one?
[13:39] Speaker 3: Yes?
[13:39] Speaker 1: You know what we should take?
[13:40] Speaker 3: And they're on Amazon. You can buy these on Amazon.
[13:44] Speaker 1: Oh I love that you can buy the milligrams of caffeine. Yes.
[13:49] Speaker 3: So I will say sorry everybody. I was sprinting the
[13:54] Speaker 3: cardio I know for the suit.
[13:57] Speaker 1: I'm going to take a pack to I will say,
[13:59] Speaker 1: if you are listen to what I want to do.
[14:02] Speaker 1: What I was not joking. I gotta get through Vegas.
[14:10] Speaker 1: Here's the other thing I'm gonna go, and I'm gonna
[14:14] Speaker 1: I'm going down how many rebuttals for what you're about
[14:17] Speaker 1: to say?
[14:18] Speaker 2: Now?
[14:18] Speaker 1: I don't want to rebuttal Eastan, I can't take it.
[14:20] Speaker 1: I have been and this is along the lines of
[14:23] Speaker 1: what she asked. Here's the thing there, there's something about
[14:27] Speaker 1: the thought of a drink that when you have a
[14:30] Speaker 1: stressful day you lost your dad young, that is traumatizing,
[14:34] Speaker 1: and there are emotions that you probably never worked through.
[14:39] Speaker 1: And sometimes I feel like those emotions you may not
[14:42] Speaker 1: be able to work through, right They're just gonna live
[14:45] Speaker 1: within you because you're never the same. Then you add
[14:47] Speaker 1: that you're a mom of three kids, you're a fucking
[14:49] Speaker 1: gangster because I have two and I'm at my fucking
[14:53] Speaker 1: wits end. I can't even think about a third right now.
[14:58] Speaker 1: It is such a hard no. On top of that,
[15:03] Speaker 1: at the end of the day, if you think I
[15:06] Speaker 1: don't go wow, a glass of wine would really be
[15:10] Speaker 1: amazing to just take the edge off. But then I
[15:13] Speaker 1: know that I am not a normal person, and I
[15:16] Speaker 1: know that a glass of wine is going to lead
[15:18] Speaker 1: to a bottle and then I'm gonna love the feeling
[15:21] Speaker 1: and I'm gonna want to, like maybe have a vodka soda,
[15:23] Speaker 1: and it all ends bad, and then tomorrow we are
[15:27] Speaker 1: in a deep, dark depression and guess what I'm gonna do.
[15:29] Speaker 1: I'm gonna pick up another drink and we start the
[15:31] Speaker 1: cycle again. So for me, the vape kind of takes
[15:36] Speaker 1: the edge off, not kind of. It takes the edge
[15:39] Speaker 1: off with me having the two kids and just a
[15:44] Speaker 1: lot going on with work and mom guilt and trying
[15:48] Speaker 1: to make stuff happen for my life and my family.
[15:53] Speaker 1: There's a lot of pressure. And I've been seeing people
[15:57] Speaker 1: want my mom on this podcast at some point, and
[16:01] Speaker 1: without getting emotional, I'm just gonna say, since her hip surgery,
[16:05] Speaker 1: you guys, my mom is not the same person. My
[16:09] Speaker 1: mom has tremors. My mom has a really hard time walking. Yes,
[16:17] Speaker 1: the hip replacement I think was very much necessary, but
[16:21] Speaker 1: mentally I don't even think she could sit on this
[16:24] Speaker 1: podcast and carry a conversation.
[16:27] Speaker 3: No, I don't either.
[16:29] Speaker 2: Her feet, she says like there's pins and needles in them.
[16:33] Speaker 2: So like I'll be talking to her just normally and
[16:36] Speaker 2: she won't to answer. I'll be like, all right, She's like, yeah,
[16:38] Speaker 2: I's just thinking about my feet.
[16:40] Speaker 1: She's having she feels like she wants to crawl out
[16:42] Speaker 1: of her own skin. She's not sleeping. I think there's
[16:45] Speaker 1: so much going on it's either a hormone thing, it's
[16:48] Speaker 1: a thyroid thing's it's a sleep apnea thing. I don't know.
[16:53] Speaker 1: She's getting her blood drawn literally right now, and I
[16:56] Speaker 1: want to have her on the podcast at some point.
[16:58] Speaker 1: She did not have her face done, but my mom
[17:02] Speaker 1: is not go say she does look amazing. But I
[17:06] Speaker 1: am just in a state of waking up in the
[17:10] Speaker 1: middle of the night, very worried that my mom may
[17:14] Speaker 1: not come back the way she used to be.
[17:17] Speaker 3: See. I think I think she will.
[17:19] Speaker 2: I think we're I always just have to revert to
[17:23] Speaker 2: what the doctor said three months before you even back
[17:26] Speaker 2: to normal.
[17:27] Speaker 1: I know whether there's things happening that are just not normal,
[17:30] Speaker 1: and we got to figure it out. And like I said,
[17:32] Speaker 1: you guys, I don't even think she could be on
[17:33] Speaker 1: this podcast and sit through it, sit through it, carry
[17:37] Speaker 1: a conversation. I mean, she's I'm like my mom used
[17:41] Speaker 1: to crack jokes, she was a little chatty Kathy. We
[17:43] Speaker 1: went and got our hair done the other day, and
[17:44] Speaker 1: like she just sat in the chair and got her
[17:46] Speaker 1: hair done. She didn't participate in the conversation nothing, so
[17:51] Speaker 1: which is not like my mother. Back to the vape
[18:05] Speaker 1: of it all, I feel a lot of high level
[18:08] Speaker 1: pressure and stress right now, and the rest of June
[18:12] Speaker 1: is jam packed. So I just need to like take
[18:16] Speaker 1: the vape to Vegas. Then we have the reunion next week,
[18:20] Speaker 1: which I yes, and then we're done, so I'll need
[18:24] Speaker 1: it to celebrate.
[18:25] Speaker 3: There's no.
[18:28] Speaker 1: Lingerie short. Don't pick up the vape to give up
[18:30] Speaker 1: the doll. It's the fucking worst thing I ever did
[18:33] Speaker 1: in my entire life. Harry is very expensive. Look into
[18:36] Speaker 1: the ninja thirsty, and then don't forget. And it's all
[18:39] Speaker 1: about the glass too, zoo. But that's what I'm saying.
[18:44] Speaker 1: This came literally last night, so I'm excited to try this.
[18:48] Speaker 1: I know I was hitting the vape. I just threw
[18:50] Speaker 1: one in. This is the I think my next we
[18:57] Speaker 1: have to give it up together, because when I give
[19:00] Speaker 1: it up and then you still, I know, I don't
[19:04] Speaker 1: know a joint effort.
[19:06] Speaker 2: I know because I there's mornings I will say remember
[19:08] Speaker 2: when I'm like, it's over at my house that because
[19:12] Speaker 2: I'm like today I'm not hitting it, and I leave
[19:14] Speaker 2: it over and then you come in and you're like,
[19:15] Speaker 2: I'm stressed, where's the vape?
[19:16] Speaker 3: And I'm like, all right, somebody needs it, go get it.
[19:19] Speaker 1: You know what, though, when I leave the house normally
[19:20] Speaker 1: I don't take it. See I'm like the Buffalo wild
[19:26] Speaker 1: Wings with a whole bunch of friends there.
[19:28] Speaker 3: Yeah, but didn't.
[19:30] Speaker 1: When you're stressed or you're going out with friends and
[19:33] Speaker 1: they're having wine and you're like, oh my god, I'm
[19:35] Speaker 1: tweaking out.
[19:36] Speaker 2: I want to know my biggest pet peeve though too,
[19:38] Speaker 2: And if you are somebody like this, maybe just become
[19:41] Speaker 2: a little more so for when you're having no and
[19:45] Speaker 2: they have a drink and you're hitting the vape and
[19:47] Speaker 2: they're like, why do you even need that?
[19:49] Speaker 3: It's like, do you not comprehend you get a drink?
[19:53] Speaker 1: I think the biggest thing though, when she said she
[19:55] Speaker 1: wants to be the girl who wrote it wants to
[19:58] Speaker 1: be one. So I think this is my advice to you.
[20:04] Speaker 1: You need to You obviously said the perier helped you.
[20:08] Speaker 1: It helped me too. If you got to spend a
[20:11] Speaker 1: little bit of money on the pariers to ensure that
[20:14] Speaker 1: you're not picking up a drink and you can remain
[20:17] Speaker 1: present for your children. To also ensure that as they
[20:21] Speaker 1: get older, they're not going to see their mom acting crazy.
[20:28] Speaker 1: Because of alcohol, Like I still act, it's almost like
[20:31] Speaker 1: investment for me. It is because I know with like,
[20:34] Speaker 1: it's not just a drink for me. Perier is something
[20:37] Speaker 1: that has quite literally helped me through like hard moments
[20:41] Speaker 1: in my life, which is I know sounds so cheesy
[20:43] Speaker 1: and corny and strange, but when I was at my
[20:47] Speaker 1: lowest point in life giving up alcohol, that had been
[20:50] Speaker 1: a part of every single big moment, happy or sad,
[20:54] Speaker 1: and then that was just gone, and I was like,
[20:57] Speaker 1: I feel like my personality is also going away. When
[21:00] Speaker 1: giving up alcohol.
[21:03] Speaker 3: Getting sober, it's almost like you're.
[21:04] Speaker 1: Re you're becoming a new person.
[21:07] Speaker 3: Yeah, you're reinventing who you are.
[21:10] Speaker 2: And then it's hard because you will know how you
[21:12] Speaker 2: acted and then you're thinking, well, is that a weird
[21:15] Speaker 2: Was I acting weird?
[21:16] Speaker 3: Was that drunk? Or was that me?
[21:19] Speaker 1: Yeah? And now you're like, oh my gosh, it's just
[21:21] Speaker 1: very hard.
[21:22] Speaker 2: But I will also say investing in the Perrier, Yes,
[21:25] Speaker 2: they're expensive, but if you look at it in the
[21:27] Speaker 2: long run of yeah, just Perier, but none a thing
[21:30] Speaker 2: like that. Like I feel like you're pretty six is
[21:33] Speaker 2: I think so too. At the end of it, you
[21:35] Speaker 2: just you're more aware because you're sober buying the water
[21:38] Speaker 2: and you're not just taking shots, going yeah, I'll take
[21:41] Speaker 2: another fifteen dollars shot, fifteen dollars drink.
[21:43] Speaker 1: It's like, at the end of the day, you're drunk
[21:45] Speaker 1: and you're not.
[21:45] Speaker 2: You're just missing how much all of this is until
[21:48] Speaker 2: you wake up the press thinking why did I spend
[21:50] Speaker 2: that much?
[21:50] Speaker 1: Exactly? That's exactly.
[21:52] Speaker 2: So I feel like the yes, it's expensive, but I
[21:55] Speaker 2: don't think we were aware of how expensive liquor was.
[21:57] Speaker 1: Mentally, Oh, I'm aware now when I go out the
[22:00] Speaker 1: group of people and we split the bill and I'm like,
[22:02] Speaker 1: there's one hundred dollars worth of alcohol on here. I'm
[22:06] Speaker 1: not a stingy motherfucker, but I'm sober, and I don't
[22:08] Speaker 1: feel like I should be contributing to.
[22:10] Speaker 2: Your shout out Janet.
[22:13] Speaker 1: No, by the way, shout out to. Most of my
[22:16] Speaker 1: friends are very only.
[22:20] Speaker 2: I only go out usually most of the time with
[22:22] Speaker 2: like Janet and them, so like Janet is always like
[22:24] Speaker 2: I'm covering you.
[22:26] Speaker 1: Like when we split a check, it's like, hey, lot,
[22:28] Speaker 1: don't worry about tip, and I've got your valet whatever
[22:30] Speaker 1: it may be. Or they split they're very Yes, I
[22:36] Speaker 1: can't believe these guys are spending this matra on. I mean,
[22:39] Speaker 1: they had a good time, and they're also not like me.
[22:42] Speaker 1: It's not like every night they go out. It's not
[22:44] Speaker 1: you know, I know it does sound funny. A lot
[22:49] Speaker 1: of friends of mine are like, I had two glasses
[22:51] Speaker 1: of wine last night. I am wrecked here. I just
[22:53] Speaker 1: cannot hang my doors. I'm like, I can't even imagine
[22:57] Speaker 1: because I stayed out until two am, and I was
[23:00] Speaker 1: wrecked for three days and all I had was some
[23:03] Speaker 1: diet cokes.
[23:05] Speaker 2: Yeah, no staying out past like one or two. You
[23:09] Speaker 2: just got to hang over no matter what.
[23:11] Speaker 1: Yeah, it really is.
[23:13] Speaker 3: I wake up and I'm like, I just got hit
[23:14] Speaker 3: by a fucking truck.
[23:16] Speaker 1: I also think what kind of glass you put it
[23:18] Speaker 1: in for a while. I'm past this point now and
[23:20] Speaker 1: I just drink it straight out of the can. But
[23:23] Speaker 1: depending on my mood, it would be like, oh, I'm
[23:25] Speaker 1: going to do like a sparkling water with a splash
[23:28] Speaker 1: of this in a champagne glass and put like a
[23:30] Speaker 1: raspberry in it. Or I'm going to have a short
[23:33] Speaker 1: glass with eyes to make it feel like I'm drinking
[23:35] Speaker 1: a Vodkas.
[23:35] Speaker 3: I do that with Martin Ellie's.
[23:36] Speaker 1: Yes, Love Love Martin.
[23:38] Speaker 2: Martin Ellie's in like a almost like a cocktail glass
[23:41] Speaker 2: like people would pour Scotch in and I just put
[23:43] Speaker 2: like a cuban there and Martin Ellie's, God damn might
[23:47] Speaker 2: do it today.
[23:47] Speaker 1: I know, And for some reason it just slapped.
[23:50] Speaker 3: It's so crasp.
[24:02] Speaker 1: My biggest thing now is when I go out to
[24:04] Speaker 1: the pool, I grab the kids like little cups that
[24:07] Speaker 1: don't spill. They have they have a straws, but you
[24:10] Speaker 1: can do that and they don't spill. And I'm addicted
[24:13] Speaker 1: to taking one of those out to the pool with
[24:15] Speaker 1: like a diet doctor pepper and a little cream in it.
[24:17] Speaker 3: I think you're kind of a nut.
[24:19] Speaker 1: I know I'm a nut.
[24:20] Speaker 3: It's spilt all over by the way, got to cover
[24:23] Speaker 3: the cap.
[24:24] Speaker 1: No, I will say this as well before we sign off.
[24:26] Speaker 1: There's not one person on the planet who once said, like,
[24:29] Speaker 1: my life got so good once I started slamming drinks.
[24:33] Speaker 1: But everyone you talk to who get a haul says
[24:36] Speaker 1: this was the best decision I ever made.
[24:38] Speaker 3: I know what.
[24:39] Speaker 2: Even Bradley Cooper, they were like, what's the most Like,
[24:41] Speaker 2: what's the what's the best thing that you've ever done
[24:45] Speaker 2: in your whole life. And you said get sober and
[24:47] Speaker 2: they were like really, and he goes, yeah, it's unreal
[24:49] Speaker 2: that I can be a part of a conversation and
[24:52] Speaker 2: I can take in what you're saying and honestly be
[24:56] Speaker 2: a person that can answer you honestly and feel what
[24:59] Speaker 2: you're going through it and not be a shield.
[25:01] Speaker 1: I was like, wow, Well, that's the other thing that's
[25:03] Speaker 1: hard when I go out with people is people who
[25:08] Speaker 1: I don't know. Right just meeting, I have a wallup
[25:12] Speaker 1: because I'm sober and I don't know you what you're
[25:16] Speaker 1: saying to me, and like just the way you're acting.
[25:21] Speaker 1: I know tomorrow, because I've been there, you're going to
[25:24] Speaker 1: be like, who is that random girl that I was
[25:26] Speaker 1: talking to? Why did I get her phone number? I'm
[25:29] Speaker 1: never going to call this person, Like I know. There's
[25:33] Speaker 1: just there's a lack of genuine connection. How many whether it's.
[25:38] Speaker 2: Did you make plans with You're like, we should all
[25:41] Speaker 2: get brunched tomorrow.
[25:43] Speaker 1: No, I was always I was always that brunch Are
[25:46] Speaker 1: you crazy?
[25:47] Speaker 3: No? But you make the plans with the weird random people.
[25:49] Speaker 1: That they're drinking, and I'm You're a drinker, I guess,
[25:52] Speaker 1: and I'm a drinker. Let's fucking again, saw them have
[25:56] Speaker 1: a couple drinks. The amount of friendships that were done
[26:00] Speaker 1: so after I was done, there are people that will
[26:02] Speaker 1: roll up on me and be like, yeah, we used
[26:03] Speaker 1: to hang out back in the day, and I'm like,
[26:05] Speaker 1: I don't know your name, I don't recognize your face.
[26:08] Speaker 1: I have no fucking idea who you are. They would
[26:10] Speaker 1: show me pictures of us all together and I would
[26:12] Speaker 1: pretend like I knew who they were. But I'm like
[26:15] Speaker 1: the amount of just stuff that I would allow into
[26:19] Speaker 1: my world in a stupor. But here's the thing. Alcohol
[26:23] Speaker 1: gets rid of genuine connection, whether it's with people that
[26:26] Speaker 1: you've just met, you don't even know if you're genuinely
[26:29] Speaker 1: connecting with them or like them. But it also takes
[26:32] Speaker 1: away the connection between you, your family members, your children.
[26:36] Speaker 1: Like giving up alcohol was the best decision I ever
[26:40] Speaker 1: made in my life. Was it the hardest thing that
[26:43] Speaker 1: I've ever done? Yes, But I know what's on the
[26:46] Speaker 1: other side of a drink, and I'm sorry, it just
[26:49] Speaker 1: doesn't sound fun. And every single thing that I've built,
[26:53] Speaker 1: friendships that I've maintained and loved and incubated my relationship
[26:58] Speaker 1: with my kids. I mean, just my schedule alone right
[27:04] Speaker 1: now is going to take me away from them. I
[27:08] Speaker 1: can't have a drink take me away from them. That
[27:12] Speaker 1: I draw the line. At least when work takes me
[27:14] Speaker 1: away from my kids.
[27:15] Speaker 3: You're getting paid.
[27:17] Speaker 1: I'm like, well, I'm here, and this is how I
[27:19] Speaker 1: support my family and my lifestyle, which a lot of
[27:22] Speaker 1: people can I tell you, not a lot. You said
[27:26] Speaker 1: you saw good comments.
[27:27] Speaker 2: I saw good comments, but like, yeah, the ones that
[27:29] Speaker 2: are like you need to take a work off. It's like, sweetheart,
[27:31] Speaker 2: this isn't a nine to five. I don't have like
[27:34] Speaker 2: the hr U too, I don't have PTO like when
[27:39] Speaker 2: I tell you I worked in nine to five desk job, cubicle,
[27:44] Speaker 2: amazing women, amazing guys like I see it. But yes,
[27:48] Speaker 2: I could look and go, hey, I'm going to my
[27:52] Speaker 2: niece's graduation. I may be gone for two and a
[27:55] Speaker 2: half hours, but I'll come back and then I make
[27:58] Speaker 2: up that time and come in a little earlier.
[28:00] Speaker 3: We have all those things. I'm sorry.
[28:03] Speaker 2: This person right here is on a schedule and getting
[28:07] Speaker 2: filmed for the entertainment of us, so she has to
[28:11] Speaker 2: be She can't go. Oh, I'm sorry, let's take know
[28:14] Speaker 2: that film crew of twenty five people. Can we reschedule
[28:19] Speaker 2: them for the one day because I couldn't come because.
[28:22] Speaker 3: I have to go and do this like which?
[28:23] Speaker 1: Bye. I know that we all wish that you could. Yes,
[28:26] Speaker 1: you wish you could.
[28:27] Speaker 2: There's too many things in place that one person missing
[28:31] Speaker 2: throws it all off.
[28:32] Speaker 1: It isn't a nine to five.
[28:34] Speaker 2: So if you don't think that my sister wouldn't be
[28:36] Speaker 2: taking off work to go see her daughter graduating, you're
[28:40] Speaker 2: all fucking up in the night. It's a different job
[28:43] Speaker 2: that y'all do not know about. So what you do
[28:46] Speaker 2: not know about, do not speak about.
[28:49] Speaker 1: The biggest problem I have is it was mostly women
[28:51] Speaker 1: who that were slamming me in the comment section. Bottom
[28:55] Speaker 1: line is when I talk about things like this on
[28:59] Speaker 1: the podcast, this is not for anybody to listen to
[29:04] Speaker 1: or watch a clip of and think that I'm asking
[29:07] Speaker 1: for a pity party. I am well aware of how
[29:10] Speaker 1: this world works. I am opening a conversation so that
[29:15] Speaker 1: hopefully there's a mom who's listening or sees that clip
[29:19] Speaker 1: that goes, wow, I too have to work that day
[29:21] Speaker 1: and can't make my daughter's graduation or my son's graduation.
[29:24] Speaker 1: He goes, I feel less alone, I feel seen, And
[29:28] Speaker 1: that is the point is opening up the conversation. I
[29:30] Speaker 1: don't need pity from anybody. I have a wonderful, beautiful life.
[29:34] Speaker 3: And to the people who can make it instead of saying.
[29:36] Speaker 2: Terrible mother, look in the marry and go as to me,
[29:39] Speaker 2: O blessed that I get to go see my daughter,
[29:42] Speaker 2: because there's and.
[29:42] Speaker 1: There were a lot of those moms who don't. There
[29:44] Speaker 1: were a lot of those, and I appreciate them.
[29:46] Speaker 2: There's good comments and I don't want those to go on.
[29:49] Speaker 2: There are amazing people, and I want to think all
[29:51] Speaker 2: those times.
[29:52] Speaker 1: They're actually the reason why I didn't fucking start to spiral.
[29:55] Speaker 3: Oh thank god.
[29:56] Speaker 1: The ones that were mean where it's like, aren't you
[29:59] Speaker 1: self employed? We all have a body self employed, little
[30:03] Speaker 1: old me. I'm dealing with a giant fucking network. I
[30:08] Speaker 1: have no say. I told them that's the day of
[30:12] Speaker 1: my daughter's graduation. The response was almost no.
[30:17] Speaker 2: No.
[30:17] Speaker 1: They are very very sympathetic and empathetic. And here's why.
[30:21] Speaker 1: Because we have incredible people, hundreds hundreds of people that
[30:26] Speaker 1: are working on this show called The Valley Camera men,
[30:29] Speaker 1: sound guys, camera women, sound women, production editors, you name it,
[30:36] Speaker 1: we have it. And guess what those people also have
[30:39] Speaker 1: to miss graduations, they have to miss trick or treating
[30:43] Speaker 1: with their kids. We're all fucking in it, Okay. So
[30:47] Speaker 1: for anyone to say that that I could get out
[30:50] Speaker 1: of it, I know I can't because if I could,
[30:56] Speaker 1: I would. It's just acidnind that other mothers would try
[31:01] Speaker 1: to shame me instead of uplift me, when the whole
[31:04] Speaker 1: reason I'm sharing it is to make other people feel
[31:08] Speaker 1: less alone. Yeah and that, yeah, that was shocked.
[31:14] Speaker 2: So many people behind the cameras that also have very
[31:17] Speaker 2: complex lives that are missing their complex life due to
[31:22] Speaker 2: work because they couldn't take it off.
[31:24] Speaker 1: No, I will say this, I feel like anybody who
[31:28] Speaker 1: was coming for me in the comments section, it's because
[31:30] Speaker 1: they don't have people around them telling them that they're
[31:33] Speaker 1: doing a great job. So this is me right now.
[31:36] Speaker 1: To any of the moms who decided to take the
[31:40] Speaker 1: video of me crying about missing my daughter's graduation due
[31:43] Speaker 1: to work, and instead of uplifting me, decided to slam
[31:47] Speaker 1: me and question me, this is me letting you know,
[31:50] Speaker 1: put your guard down. You are seen. You're fucking crushing it.
[31:54] Speaker 1: You are loved And in the words of Kanye West,
[31:58] Speaker 1: not sure if we like him still or not, but
[32:00] Speaker 1: his old school song before he went crazy single mothers,
[32:04] Speaker 1: you know you have my heart. On that note, it
[32:08] Speaker 1: was supposed to be about one thing, but we went
[32:10] Speaker 1: on a tangent tangent tangent.
[32:13] Speaker 2: Yes, back to the point. I am sorry that he
[32:18] Speaker 2: lost her husband. Lose her husband, she lost her age,
[32:23] Speaker 2: and for that, I will say Perry.
[32:28] Speaker 1: Perry solves everything, and don't pick up the vape. It'll
[32:31] Speaker 1: be the.
[32:33] Speaker 2: We do not pick up the vape because that me
[32:37] Speaker 2: picking up the VP has taken me on to, like
[32:39] Speaker 2: I said, do things like this because I can't get
[32:42] Speaker 2: off of it.
[32:42] Speaker 1: So we create him putting one of those in my
[32:45] Speaker 1: carry on by the way, here take it.
[32:47] Speaker 3: Take one now, brand.
[32:49] Speaker 1: Because you know what I'll do is I'll make sure
[32:50] Speaker 1: that I do this and then when I go up
[32:52] Speaker 1: to the rooftop for the opening, then I'll have my vape.
[32:56] Speaker 1: But then the rest of the time, and that's the
[32:57] Speaker 1: one thing I'm okay.
[32:58] Speaker 2: If I can like put the vain, if your tail
[33:01] Speaker 2: a babe like ten times a day will be you
