[0:04] Proverbs Chapter 10 The Proverbs of Solomon A wise son makes a
[0:11] father glad, but a foolish, stubborn son who refuses to
[0:16] learn is a grief to his mother. Treasures of wickedness and I'll
[0:22] gotten gains do not profit, but righteousness and moral
[0:28] integrity in daily life rescues from death.
[0:33] The Lord will not allow the righteous to hunger.
[0:37] God will meet all his needs, but he will reject and castaway the
[0:43] craving of the wicked. Poor is he who works with a
[0:49] negligent and idle hand, but the hand of the diligent makes him
[0:54] rich. He who gathers during summer and
[0:59] takes advantage of his opportunities is a son who acts
[1:03] wisely. But he who sleeps during harvest
[1:07] and ignores the moment of opportunity is a son who acts
[1:12] shamefully. Blessings are on the head of the
[1:16] righteous, the upright, those in right standing with God.
[1:21] But the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.
[1:25] The memory of the righteous person is a source of blessing,
[1:30] but the name of the wicked will be forgotten and wrought like a
[1:35] corpse. The wise in hearts are willing
[1:39] to learn, so they will accept and obey commands or
[1:44] instruction. But the babbling fool who is
[1:48] arrogant and thinks himself wise will come to ruin.
[1:54] He who walks in integrity and with moral character walks
[1:59] securely. But he who takes a crooked way
[2:04] will be discovered and punished. He who maliciously winks the eye
[2:10] of evil intent causes trouble. And the babbling fool who is
[2:16] arrogant and thinks himself wise will come to ruin.
[2:22] The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, and his words
[2:27] of wisdom are a source of blessing.
[2:30] But the mouth of the wicked conceals violence and evil.
[2:35] Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers and overwhelms all
[2:41] transgressions, forgiving and overlooking another's faults.
[2:48] On the lips of the discerning, skillful and godly wisdom is
[2:53] found, but discipline and the rod are for the back of the one
[2:59] who is without common sense and understanding.
[3:04] Wise men store up and treasure knowledge in mind and heart, but
[3:11] with the mouth of the foolish ruin is at hand.
[3:15] The rich man's wealth is his fortress.
[3:19] The ruin of the poor is their poverty.
[3:24] The wages of the righteous, the uprights, those in right
[3:28] standing with God, is a worthwhile, meaningful life.
[3:34] The income of the wicked punishment.
[3:38] He who learns from instruction and correction is on the right
[3:42] path of life, and for others his example is a path toward wisdom
[3:49] and blessing. But he who ignores and refuses
[3:54] correction goes off course, and for others his example is a path
[4:00] towards sin and ruin. He who hides hatred has lying
[4:06] lips, and he who spreads slander is a fool.
[4:11] When there are many words, transgression and offense are
[4:16] unavoidable, but he who controls his lips and keeps thoughtful
[4:22] silence is wise. The tongue of the righteous is
[4:27] like precious silver or greatly valued.
[4:31] The heart of the wicked is worth little.
[4:35] The lips of the righteous feed and guide many, but fools who
[4:40] reject God and His wisdom die for lack of understanding.
[4:47] The blessing of the Lord brings true riches, and He adds no
[4:52] sorrow to it, for it comes as a blessing from God.
[4:58] Engaging in evil is like sport to the fool who refuses wisdom
[5:04] and chases sin, but to a man of understanding, skillful and
[5:10] godly wisdom brings joy. What the wicked fears will come
[5:15] upon him, but the desire of the righteous for the blessings of
[5:20] God will be granted. When the whirlwind passes, the
[5:25] wicked is no more, But the righteous has an everlasting
[5:30] foundation. Like vinegar to the teeth and
[5:34] smoke to the eyes, so is the lazy One to those who sent him
[5:40] to work. The reverent fear of the Lord,
[5:44] worshipping, obeying, serving, and trusting Him with all filled
[5:50] respect, prolongs one's life. But the years of the wicked will
[5:55] be shortened. The hope of the righteous, those
[5:59] of honorable character and integrity, is joy, but the
[6:04] expectation of the wicked, those who oppose God and ignore His
[6:10] wisdom, comes to nothing. The way of the Lord is a
[6:15] stronghold to the upright, but it is ruin to those who do evil.
[6:21] The consistently righteous will never be shaken, but the wicked
[6:27] will not inhabit the earth. The mouth of the righteous flows
[6:33] with skillful and godly wisdom, but the perverted tongue will be
[6:38] cut out. The lips of the righteous know
[6:42] or speak what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked knows or
[6:49] speaks what is perverted or twisted.
