Na de val van de muur ging de DDR op in de Bondsrepubliek Duitsland. Maar de twee helften van Berlijn lieten zich niet zomaar versmelten. Zo had de hereniging van Duitsland juridische gevolgen voor de Berlijnse holebi's, veranderde het uitzicht van de stad drastisch, en hadden de Oost- en West-Duitsers grote moeite om elkaar te vinden na een scheiding van 28 jaar.
