Wells and Dolores can describe these Million Dollar Nannies in one word: MESSY! What cast member needs to stay far, far away from the producers?! Are they rooting more for the nannies or the “mannies”? Plus, do they think Leah’s big secret has the potential to destroy the entire agency? See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

## Transcript

[0:03] Speaker 1: Welcome in, all you faithfuls and traders.
[0:05] Speaker 2: Do another episode of by Order of the Faithful's Million
[0:08] Speaker 2: Dollar Nannies Edition Wells alongside Dolores Catania, we are going
[0:12] Speaker 2: to be recapping episode one of md N.
[0:17] Speaker 1: Is that gonna be the That's nice? Yeah? What are
[0:21] Speaker 1: just overall arching thoughts of this?
[0:25] Speaker 2: Uh, absolute dumpster fire that is a Hulu show?
[0:29] Speaker 1: What do you think?
[0:32] Speaker 3: Well, you took the words right out of my mouth,
[0:36] Speaker 3: because this is crazy. This is craziness to me, both
[0:40] Speaker 3: sides of it, the lifestyle, the nannies. For some reason,
[0:48] Speaker 3: they seem to like, I'm not surprised that they're hiring
[0:52] Speaker 3: who they're hiring. Does that make sense to you?
[0:56] Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess i am.
[1:00] Speaker 2: I'm a bit concerned with some of the hires that
[1:04] Speaker 2: ABC Hulu is making to lead some of their big shows.
[1:08] Speaker 1: Just you know, Taylor Frankie Paul.
[1:11] Speaker 2: I don't know if she should be like the front
[1:13] Speaker 2: person of the Mormon show, and after this first episode,
[1:17] Speaker 2: I'm not sure if Leah should be the front person
[1:20] Speaker 2: of this episode.
[1:21] Speaker 3: Well, she is the head of the the agency.
[1:26] Speaker 4: Yeah, even if she banged a homeless guy in his tent.
[1:30] Speaker 1: We're gonna get there.
[1:31] Speaker 4: That's a new one on me.
[1:33] Speaker 3: Well yeah, all right, yeah, yea.
[1:37] Speaker 2: Let's just get into this. But this show, the way
[1:40] Speaker 2: this one ends is just absolutely riveting. So Leah running
[1:44] Speaker 2: the agency and her goal is to build a nanny empire.
[1:47] Speaker 2: She worked for the Kardashians, a real housewife, professional athlete.
[1:53] Speaker 1: Has she worked for you?
[1:54] Speaker 2: I mean she dropped real housewives, So I'd just assumed
[1:56] Speaker 2: that you'd kind of know who this person is.
[2:00] Speaker 4: Where does she say she was from?
[2:01] Speaker 3: La So it was probably Oca housewife if she worked
[2:05] Speaker 3: for the Kardashian She's California based, so it could have
[2:08] Speaker 3: been Beverly Hills, or it could have been oh se
[2:11] Speaker 3: probably thinking more Beverly Hills.
[2:14] Speaker 4: Maybe a housewife from the past. I don't know.
[2:16] Speaker 1: Yeah, well it's not New Jersey.
[2:19] Speaker 2: It's not New Jersey. And also I don't know if
[2:23] Speaker 2: you should hire her after what happens in this episode,
[2:27] Speaker 2: but we'll get there. Olivia against the house first, she
[2:29] Speaker 2: says that college was never her path and she grew
[2:33] Speaker 2: up a spoiled brat.
[2:36] Speaker 1: She you know, she looks like what she said she was.
[2:40] Speaker 2: She looked like a girl who was like raised really
[2:42] Speaker 2: affluently but then had a tough life. Afterwards, I enjoyed
[2:46] Speaker 2: her her kind of origin story. Then we've got let's
[2:49] Speaker 2: see Mitchell shows up to the house. He's got a
[2:53] Speaker 2: plus one. He brought his girlfriend of five years, Taylor.
[2:58] Speaker 4: I knew it was a disaster.
[3:00] Speaker 2: Yeah never I know, And Taylor seems like such a
[3:06] Speaker 2: sweet person. But like even off the Batley is like,
[3:09] Speaker 2: I don't know if I should have let Mitchell bring
[3:12] Speaker 2: his girlfriend.
[3:13] Speaker 3: Taylor's does not belong to be a nanny. I'm not
[3:17] Speaker 3: sure where her place is in this world. I don't
[3:20] Speaker 3: know that i'd have her watch my kids.
[3:22] Speaker 2: Yeah, I also don't know if she should be around
[3:25] Speaker 2: a producer anytime, because I feel like she might have
[3:28] Speaker 2: been given some bad ideas on this show, which we
[3:32] Speaker 2: will get to this down the line.
[3:34] Speaker 3: You could definitely tell there is a producer component here,
[3:40] Speaker 3: a draconian producing which makes.
[3:45] Speaker 4: For dumpster Fire.
[3:48] Speaker 2: Great great dumpster Fire TV. Then we get Sidney coming
[3:53] Speaker 2: to the house immediately assigns herself as Leah's second in
[3:56] Speaker 2: command because they have she's normal, Well, we have the
[4:00] Speaker 2: best resumes.
[4:01] Speaker 1: I guess.
[4:02] Speaker 3: Okay, I'm glad somebody is that has makes some sense,
[4:06] Speaker 3: except for we'll get to the bad advice she gave
[4:08] Speaker 3: her friendly but go ahead.
[4:10] Speaker 1: Yeah, Jack arrives.
[4:11] Speaker 2: He calls himself the og manny after his videos went viral.
[4:16] Speaker 1: Do we think they really went viral?
[4:18] Speaker 3: Or are we just saying that for the TV show,
[4:21] Speaker 3: Viral to my mother is different than viral to one
[4:25] Speaker 3: of us?
[4:26] Speaker 1: Seventy three people liked it.
[4:29] Speaker 4: Ring go my mom.
[4:30] Speaker 3: My mom tries to see who got more likes than me,
[4:33] Speaker 3: and she calls me she can't say the numbers. It's
[4:36] Speaker 3: like one million, five seven two, Like, no, she'll be
[4:42] Speaker 3: one seven five too, you know, So maybe that's it's
[4:46] Speaker 3: the Valerie viral.
[4:47] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[4:49] Speaker 2: Jack pushed for Hannah's spot in the house and says
[4:54] Speaker 2: she is a once in a lifetime opportunity to take
[4:58] Speaker 2: her nanny to the next level. Let's start with Leah
[5:03] Speaker 2: takes the girls to get interviewed by the how do
[5:06] Speaker 2: you say this? This g family's name.
[5:09] Speaker 3: You're you're Spanish, your Portuguese.
[5:14] Speaker 1: The Perti Gerberti family.
[5:18] Speaker 2: But they say they're worth five hundred million dollars five
[5:20] Speaker 2: hundred million dollar.
[5:21] Speaker 3: People bring their own nannies on vacation with them, Sorry
[5:25] Speaker 3: they do.
[5:25] Speaker 1: Yeah, they got two little girls.
[5:29] Speaker 2: Camilla, the mother immediately criticizes the nanny's appearances.
[5:34] Speaker 1: I'm Williah.
[5:35] Speaker 2: Yeah, Leah already decided that she's taking the first spot,
[5:38] Speaker 2: and the rest of the girls are interviewing for the
[5:40] Speaker 2: second spot. You know, Leah keeps on saying that she
[5:43] Speaker 2: has all these connections, but when the first job opened,
[5:46] Speaker 2: she takes it. I would be annoyed if I was
[5:48] Speaker 2: these other girls and guys.
[5:50] Speaker 3: Well, is this the most prominent family there? Does she
[5:54] Speaker 3: feel like they're the most connected? Does she have to
[5:57] Speaker 3: handle them and take that job? Then, you know, show
[6:01] Speaker 3: up in a suit.
[6:03] Speaker 4: I don't know. I don't see it like. I don't
[6:05] Speaker 4: see it like if I if that's.
[6:06] Speaker 3: Your caliber of clientele, you need to be a certain
[6:11] Speaker 3: degree of polished.
[6:13] Speaker 4: These people are gonna hate us.
[6:14] Speaker 3: I hope I never see them a Bravo Khan or something.
[6:17] Speaker 3: I don't know, but is there a Hulu Khan. I'm
[6:19] Speaker 3: not going, well, I don't know.
[6:21] Speaker 2: I'm not I'm not not passing judgment on anybody. I'm
[6:25] Speaker 2: just calling balls and strikes out here of what I'm
[6:28] Speaker 2: seeing so far. But I have a feeling that there's
[6:31] Speaker 2: gonna be some character arc and I'm going to come
[6:33] Speaker 2: back around on some of these these characters. But we'll
[6:36] Speaker 2: see now. But okay, the g's have specific rules for
[6:39] Speaker 2: their nannies. They have to sing lullabies with care and precision.
[6:44] Speaker 1: Okay. They have to maintain a hold a note.
[6:47] Speaker 4: What is karen precision in singing? Me? And I don't know,
[6:51] Speaker 4: but okay, okay, I'll take it.
[6:52] Speaker 2: Yep.
[6:53] Speaker 1: So, yeah, you're looking like the sound of music, lady,
[6:57] Speaker 1: maintain a demure presentation range. All food with choppsticks must
[7:03] Speaker 1: match the family's daily aura, which okay. And in addition,
[7:08] Speaker 1: the nannies cannot have bright nail colors. They need to
[7:12] Speaker 1: wear a wet suit when they swim, and they have
[7:16] Speaker 1: to be able to nail a baby shark performance. Is
[7:20] Speaker 1: this a crazy wrider to have or does this seem reasonable?
[7:24] Speaker 3: To be honest, I think it's all relative. I think
[7:28] Speaker 3: that if you have someone living in your home, I
[7:32] Speaker 3: don't think.
[7:32] Speaker 4: That's terrible things to ask.
[7:34] Speaker 3: Yeah, I really don't baby shark.
[7:38] Speaker 4: You know that?
[7:39] Speaker 2: So yeah, baby shark, do do do do do?
[7:43] Speaker 4: Yeah? Yeah, that's not so hard? Is it so much
[7:46] Speaker 4: to ask?
[7:47] Speaker 1: Well?
[7:47] Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know how I feel about the
[7:49] Speaker 2: nails thing. And like the covering up of the tattoos.
[7:52] Speaker 2: It kind of like it. It makes it so you
[7:55] Speaker 2: don't want them to have any personality like they want.
[7:59] Speaker 2: You want them to be background noise. But then one
[8:02] Speaker 2: of the rules is you need to match the family's aura. Well, okay,
[8:06] Speaker 2: is the aura of the family to be subdued or
[8:09] Speaker 2: to be outspoken and loud and beautiful and rich. I
[8:12] Speaker 2: don't think those two match.
[8:14] Speaker 3: Are they hiring an aura reader? I have good one
[8:16] Speaker 3: for them if they're looking for one. How do they
[8:18] Speaker 3: know if the auras match or not. You don't know
[8:21] Speaker 3: unless you get somebody to read it.
[8:23] Speaker 1: Yeah, we should have brought in an aura reader for
[8:25] Speaker 1: them for that episode.
[8:26] Speaker 3: Mystic MICHAELA, you want an aura reader top notch.
[8:29] Speaker 1: I think I've met her.
[8:31] Speaker 2: Does she take a picture and show you the aura
[8:34] Speaker 2: Mystic Mackila.
[8:35] Speaker 3: No, she doesn't take a picture, and she could, but
[8:38] Speaker 3: she reads Aura's Mystic Michayla.
[8:40] Speaker 4: Find her on Instagram. She's amazing.
[8:43] Speaker 1: All right. Back of the house, Jack and Mitchell talk.
[8:47] Speaker 2: Mitchell talks about his sister with Down syndrome and how
[8:50] Speaker 2: it has taught impatience and empathy. I gotta be honest
[8:53] Speaker 2: with you, I really am gravitating towards the man he's
[8:56] Speaker 2: They seem too.
[8:57] Speaker 1: Really normal and good guys.
[9:00] Speaker 4: Me too. I really like them. They take their job serious.
[9:05] Speaker 4: We'll get we'll get to.
[9:09] Speaker 5: You know.
[9:10] Speaker 3: When he went, well, we'll get to it, when Nanny
[9:13] Speaker 3: had to be told probably shouldn't talk like that to
[9:15] Speaker 3: the kids, but yeah, we'll get there. Uh.
[9:19] Speaker 1: Leah gets a call from the GE's. They tell her
[9:21] Speaker 1: that Sydney got the job, much to everyone's surprise. Why well, because.
[9:27] Speaker 2: I feel like one they thought she was too pretty,
[9:32] Speaker 2: they didn't like her nail polished, they didn't like that
[9:35] Speaker 2: her cleavage was out, and then they ended up hiring
[9:39] Speaker 2: her despite all that. Like I thought it was surprising too.
[9:43] Speaker 2: But if she is the most qualified, she is the
[9:46] Speaker 2: most qualified for me.
[9:49] Speaker 3: I feel like I could be wrong, but from what
[9:52] Speaker 3: I'm seeing already, she would be my first pick as well.
[9:56] Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know if my wife would want that
[10:02] Speaker 2: to be the first pick, because I do think she
[10:03] Speaker 2: is very pretty.
[10:04] Speaker 4: She is, she is very pretty.
[10:14] Speaker 2: So Leah tells Nanny's that about another job proposition. It's
[10:19] Speaker 2: an interesting family. They are three gay dads who have twins,
[10:24] Speaker 2: a boy and a girl. But we find out that
[10:26] Speaker 2: they're not in like a polyamorous relationship. One was married
[10:31] Speaker 2: to the other, they had a child, and then they
[10:33] Speaker 2: got divorced, and then the.
[10:34] Speaker 1: Other married the other guy. But they all now live together.
[10:38] Speaker 1: I do love them, But are you telling me that
[10:42] Speaker 1: these two guys aren't like brother they look like twins?
[10:46] Speaker 3: Well, you know, I look at me and Liz from
[10:50] Speaker 3: Rhode Island, we look alike.
[10:53] Speaker 2: Okay, clip this and put both of these guys up
[10:56] Speaker 2: next to one another. They I don't know if their
[10:59] Speaker 2: surgeon has just like I want you.
[11:00] Speaker 3: Guys, the surgeon does the same shaped eyes for everybody.
[11:04] Speaker 4: Did they go to the same person?
[11:06] Speaker 1: I mean, I got a feel and they got a guy.
[11:08] Speaker 2: I mean a lot of people do say that Sarah
[11:10] Speaker 2: and I look like siblings because we both have tan
[11:12] Speaker 2: skin and curly hair.
[11:13] Speaker 1: So there you go. Yeah, by the way.
[11:16] Speaker 4: You do.
[11:18] Speaker 1: Totally. So.
[11:21] Speaker 2: Lea gives the job to Olivia and tells Jack and
[11:24] Speaker 2: Mitchell they'll be interviewing for a spot as well, and
[11:28] Speaker 2: Lee announces that another family has also reached out. She's
[11:30] Speaker 2: a single mom with two girls. After looking at their resume,
[11:34] Speaker 2: she picks Taylor as their nanny. Now going back to
[11:39] Speaker 2: the my three Dads. One they do make the the
[11:44] Speaker 2: guys do some silly things to figure out who's going
[11:47] Speaker 2: to be picked, one of which is they make them
[11:49] Speaker 2: swim laps. And I gotta say, Mitchell, not a goot
[11:57] Speaker 2: great swimmer.
[11:59] Speaker 3: I have to tell you I'm not against them asking
[12:03] Speaker 3: them to do that. Yeah, I thought it was a
[12:07] Speaker 3: good idea. If they're in the ocean with the kids
[12:10] Speaker 3: and they need to swim to get them, that is
[12:12] Speaker 3: a very valid ask.
[12:16] Speaker 2: Were you surprised that they went with Mitchell and not Jack,
[12:19] Speaker 2: considering Mitchell straight and Jack isn't.
[12:23] Speaker 3: No no, yeah, No, that didn't surprise me.
[12:28] Speaker 4: I think that they went for the right pick.
[12:33] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[12:33] Speaker 2: Then everyone decides to go to the club and Leah
[12:36] Speaker 2: gets the most drunk by far, and everyone's weary because
[12:40] Speaker 2: she's supposed to be the leader and she has all
[12:42] Speaker 2: these rules and all these regulations, but she's not living
[12:45] Speaker 2: up to them. Are you surprised that in the first
[12:49] Speaker 2: episode she was able to get so twisted at the
[12:52] Speaker 2: night out?
[12:53] Speaker 4: Not at all. I think that it was very poor
[12:58] Speaker 4: representation to show. I mean, the people that work for
[13:04] Speaker 4: you have to respect you.
[13:06] Speaker 3: Yeah, and to get like that even more sloppy than
[13:10] Speaker 3: some of them even got. And to be the sloppiest
[13:13] Speaker 3: of all is not a is not a boss or
[13:17] Speaker 3: a leader kind of way to act. It's not leader behavior,
[13:23] Speaker 3: is what I want to say.
[13:25] Speaker 1: Totally agree.
[13:27] Speaker 2: Like, Yeah, running around with a like a street cone
[13:32] Speaker 2: on your head with cameras following you not a good look. No.
[13:38] Speaker 3: If I if I picked up everything to move to
[13:40] Speaker 3: a place and the first outing we do together that happens,
[13:45] Speaker 3: I'd be really wondering.
[13:50] Speaker 4: If I could get my apartment back that I left.
[13:53] Speaker 3: Yeah, it's not It's not a good prognosis here for
[13:57] Speaker 3: this agency.
[13:58] Speaker 4: I'm sorry. I want to introduce you to my daughter.
[14:00] Speaker 4: Come say hi really quick. He's also good. That's doctor Gabby.
[14:04] Speaker 1: Hi, doctor Gabby. I love your mother, me too.
[14:07] Speaker 4: Did I ever hire bad nannies for you guys?
[14:10] Speaker 5: She hired a nanny who had a fake teaching certificate
[14:13] Speaker 5: from care dot com, and then she used our her
[14:18] Speaker 5: ex boyfriend's little children to bring drugs to the mailbox.
[14:23] Speaker 5: And then he later said that if she told him
[14:28] Speaker 5: she would kill him if he told us she was
[14:30] Speaker 5: selling add a role.
[14:32] Speaker 4: And Molly yeah out of our house.
[14:33] Speaker 5: And we found her burner phone but we never had
[14:35] Speaker 5: a bed nanny.
[14:36] Speaker 1: No, No, she was great.
[14:38] Speaker 2: Well, you know what we need to get her on
[14:42] Speaker 2: a show. I got a perfect one for her called
[14:44] Speaker 2: million Dollar Nannies.
[14:47] Speaker 1: All right.
[14:47] Speaker 2: So Leah and Sidney start their first day with the G's.
[14:50] Speaker 2: Camilla gives them uniforms, making sure Sydney's are large and baggy.
[14:56] Speaker 2: This would offend me if I was Sydney.
[14:59] Speaker 1: What about you?
[15:00] Speaker 3: You more? If I was Leah? Why didn't I Why
[15:05] Speaker 3: didn't you want me to wear the bag of clothes?
[15:07] Speaker 3: You know.
[15:11] Speaker 4: It's going to look at me.
[15:12] Speaker 1: Yeah, but you don't know.
[15:17] Speaker 4: I want to check that.
[15:19] Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't think of it that way. But you're right.
[15:22] Speaker 1: That was kind of a dig at Lea as.
[15:24] Speaker 4: Well, absolute compliment. Here put these on.
[15:29] Speaker 2: And you know, back with the three dads, the the
[15:35] Speaker 2: Mannies competing in this swimming competition. And even though Mitchell
[15:40] Speaker 2: doesn't have much in common with the dads as Jack,
[15:43] Speaker 2: his superpower is bonding with the kids, which she does
[15:46] Speaker 2: a really good job.
[15:47] Speaker 1: He teaches He teaches Koy how to tie his shoes,
[15:50] Speaker 1: which makes one of the dads cry, which is really sweet.
[15:56] Speaker 4: So sweet. I'm sorry, I love that.
[15:58] Speaker 2: I actually there they are the stars of this show,
[16:01] Speaker 2: thus far from me. But they decide to go, like
[16:05] Speaker 2: I said, with Mitchell anyways, and night swimming and they're
[16:08] Speaker 2: drinking heavily, and the show ends. The first episode ends
[16:13] Speaker 2: with Leah telling Olivia that she slept with the father
[16:18] Speaker 2: that she nannied for.
[16:20] Speaker 3: She told a group of people who she just met, Yeah,
[16:25] Speaker 3: some information that could potentially destroy her business.
[16:29] Speaker 4: Why would she do that?
[16:32] Speaker 2: And then also these these are her employees effectively at
[16:35] Speaker 2: their agency, and now all of a sudden they're questioning
[16:37] Speaker 2: whether that she should even be the boss or if
[16:40] Speaker 2: they want to work for said agency.
[16:43] Speaker 1: I think it was it was a.
[16:46] Speaker 2: Mistake because once she got drunk, and then when you
[16:50] Speaker 2: get drunk, you get you know, those slips and then
[16:54] Speaker 2: those yep, and it's just such a bad, bad look.
[17:00] Speaker 2: But it's a great way to end the first episode.
[17:02] Speaker 2: You know, my thought just always went back to, you know,
[17:05] Speaker 2: she was touting and boasting about who she had nannyed for.
[17:10] Speaker 2: The Kardashians, were one of them, a housewife, was another
[17:15] Speaker 2: professional athlete or something like that was We know that
[17:17] Speaker 2: to be true, But I'm just sitting here thinking, well,
[17:21] Speaker 2: what husband did you bang?
[17:23] Speaker 1: Was? Was it, Kanye, I never know.
[17:26] Speaker 4: Well, listen, well, I.
[17:29] Speaker 2: Mean it could have been he was the husband of
[17:32] Speaker 2: one of his clients, one of her clients.
[17:36] Speaker 3: And the person was a single father at the time
[17:39] Speaker 3: they had become friends. Oh, I didn't even think that. Wells,
[17:44] Speaker 3: that's so yeah, Tatress.
[17:48] Speaker 1: It also could be mind.
[17:54] Speaker 4: You think we'll get it out of her.
[17:56] Speaker 1: I don't know.
[17:57] Speaker 2: I don't know if it might end the season with
