[0:01] Speaker 1: Welcome to Dirty Rush, The Truth about Sorority Life with
[0:04] Speaker 1: your hosts me Gia Judaice, Davey Kent, and Jennifer Kessler.
[0:11] Speaker 1: Welcome back to a very special episode of Dirty Rush. Today,
[0:17] Speaker 1: we are speaking with my family, three generations of sorority
[0:22] Speaker 1: women who are here to compare and contrast their sorority experiences.
[0:27] Speaker 1: My name is Lauren, and I will be hosting the conversation.
[0:32] Speaker 1: And does everybody want to introduce themself, their sorority and
[0:38] Speaker 1: what you're graduated.
[0:39] Speaker 2: Yeah, let's go from oldest to youngest.
[0:41] Speaker 1: Okay, we'll shark gravy time.
[0:45] Speaker 3: My name is Kathy mccaulliffe and I went to Oregon
[0:49] Speaker 3: State and graduated in nineteen sixty eight, and I was
[0:53] Speaker 3: a pie bya Phi.
[0:55] Speaker 4: I'm Megan and I graduated from University of San Diego
[1:00] Speaker 4: in nineteen ninety seven and I was an Alpha Fi.
[1:03] Speaker 2: I'm Lauren.
[1:05] Speaker 1: I went to TCU and I was a Fada and
[1:08] Speaker 1: I graduated in.
[1:09] Speaker 2: Twenty twenty four.
[1:10] Speaker 1: I'm Taylor and I also went to TCU. I graduated
[1:13] Speaker 1: this year twenty twenty six, and I was a Sigma Kappa.
[1:17] Speaker 1: I'm Sarah and I'm also a Sigma Kappa. Yay, Okay,
[1:22] Speaker 1: let's dive into it.
[1:25] Speaker 2: What made each of you choose.
[1:27] Speaker 1: Your sorority or what made you favorite over others during
[1:31] Speaker 1: rush my school with there were only three sororities, so
[1:35] Speaker 1: they were pretty distinguished with their only being three.
[1:37] Speaker 2: They all kind of had a different reputation and a
[1:39] Speaker 2: different kind of vibe.
[1:42] Speaker 4: And I could tell from the beginning. We didn't rush
[1:45] Speaker 4: until part way through freshman year after Christmas break, so
[1:48] Speaker 4: you really had those three months to get to know
[1:51] Speaker 4: the different personalities of houses. So I was pretty confident
[1:54] Speaker 4: that I would want to be an alpha fee if
[1:57] Speaker 4: it was mutual, and so that's kind of how it
[1:59] Speaker 4: worked out for me.
[2:00] Speaker 2: That's Suice Grammy.
[2:04] Speaker 3: I would say, going to the parties that they had,
[2:11] Speaker 3: it really mattered who you talk to, you know. And
[2:16] Speaker 3: in my sorority there were some of the older class
[2:20] Speaker 3: mates and they were really impressive, and I think that
[2:24] Speaker 3: had a lot to do. And I don't think I
[2:27] Speaker 3: really knew anyone before I joined the house.
[2:31] Speaker 1: Yeah, I think for me, it was pretty obviously where
[2:34] Speaker 1: I wanted to go, having a sister at my school,
[2:37] Speaker 1: and also like in authority that I already liked. I
[2:40] Speaker 1: felt like knowing her friends and stuff after visiting so
[2:43] Speaker 1: many times made me really favor the sorority. And then
[2:46] Speaker 1: when I went through Rush, seeing all the other ones
[2:48] Speaker 1: was obviously really important. But I think that going into it,
[2:51] Speaker 1: I kind of knew what I wanted, and coming out
[2:53] Speaker 1: of it, I got what I wanted, and so I
[2:55] Speaker 1: was fortunate enough to join the same Southrity. But I
[2:57] Speaker 1: think I kind of always had a feeling that it
[2:59] Speaker 1: might be I joined Sigma Kappa because I felt like
[3:05] Speaker 1: the conversations with the girls were just the easiest and
[3:10] Speaker 1: I always just had a good time when I was
[3:12] Speaker 1: in there, and I didn't feel stressed or not like myself. Yeah,
[3:16] Speaker 1: I feel like I had a similar feeling when I
[3:18] Speaker 1: went into Theta and I talked to all those girls
[3:22] Speaker 1: during Rush, and I kind of similar to what you said, like,
[3:24] Speaker 1: I just thought everyone was so impressive and I was like,
[3:26] Speaker 1: these are people.
[3:27] Speaker 2: I would want to surround myself with.
[3:29] Speaker 1: Right, And so it really came down to just that,
[3:33] Speaker 1: how did you handle some of the houses that you
[3:35] Speaker 1: did like but got dropped from during Rush.
[3:38] Speaker 2: That's a good question.
[3:40] Speaker 4: I didn't really have that because of it there only
[3:42] Speaker 4: being three it's sort of it was only three different Yeah.
[3:46] Speaker 2: But yeah, that's crazy. Yeah, it's intense there in Texas.
[3:51] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[3:51] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[3:52] Speaker 1: Was it hard to watch us go through that and
[3:55] Speaker 1: then I dropped by.
[3:56] Speaker 4: Houses that we liked, Yes, because I think sometimes you
[3:59] Speaker 4: were blindsided, like you'd feel like it went really well
[4:02] Speaker 4: and then the next day there'd be that cut and
[4:04] Speaker 4: it was it's just kind of jarring totally, and then
[4:08] Speaker 4: you have to just hang in there and stay positive
[4:10] Speaker 4: and keep moving forward.
[4:11] Speaker 2: Really, and I think about it takes a lot out
[4:13] Speaker 2: of you. Yeah, Yeah, absolutely.
[4:15] Speaker 1: I think it's definitely difficult when you go from having
[4:19] Speaker 1: like thirteen houses to what does it get cut to
[4:22] Speaker 1: you nine? Yeah, and then the six and then to
[4:24] Speaker 1: three and then you get your house. So I feel
[4:28] Speaker 1: like it really is just like a lot of mental
[4:32] Speaker 1: strain on you. But you just like have to show
[4:34] Speaker 1: up your best adverts, yeah, or else that could cost
[4:37] Speaker 1: you the next house.
[4:38] Speaker 2: Yeah. So true.
[4:39] Speaker 1: Do you feel like going into Rush, like after having
[4:42] Speaker 1: an older sister go through Rush, it like changed your
[4:46] Speaker 1: perception of the houses when you went in.
[4:48] Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely.
[4:49] Speaker 1: I think you told me like a lot of the
[4:51] Speaker 1: stereotypes for each one, So I definitely had a lot
[4:53] Speaker 1: of preconceived notions, which was maybe positive.
[4:57] Speaker 2: Yeah, but yeah, for sure, I agree.
[5:00] Speaker 1: I remember, like the summer before I rushed, Taylor would
[5:03] Speaker 1: try to like keep stuff away from me, just to
[5:06] Speaker 1: not like sway my opinions too much because she knew that,
[5:08] Speaker 1: like she knew a lot of them, like a lot
[5:10] Speaker 1: about all of them, and it kind of like made
[5:12] Speaker 1: her rush experience a little different than someone who like
[5:14] Speaker 1: would go in knowing nothing.
[5:16] Speaker 2: So Taylor like didn't tell me as much.
[5:18] Speaker 1: Which I think was good because I did like have
[5:20] Speaker 1: time to like figure things out on my own. But
[5:23] Speaker 1: I think going and knowing information rather than knowing nothing
[5:26] Speaker 1: was like definitely very helpful.
[5:28] Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm really grateful that.
[5:29] Speaker 1: I had like someone to look up to and like
[5:31] Speaker 1: someone to tell me about like what was ahead of me.
[5:34] Speaker 2: Yeah, what about your grammy? Do you remember?
[5:36] Speaker 3: I don't remember it, honestly, I'm not sure if they
[5:39] Speaker 3: made certain cuts, you know, like Taylor was.
[5:43] Speaker 2: Mentioning.
[5:45] Speaker 3: Uh, So I don't really remember that part.
[5:47] Speaker 2: Yeah, that makes sense.
[5:49] Speaker 1: Did you feel any pressure to join a specific house
[5:52] Speaker 1: from family or friends that had been in sororities before you?
[5:55] Speaker 2: It's a good question.
[5:59] Speaker 4: I didn't, maybe friends because my roommates were going for
[6:03] Speaker 4: the same house as me, and I wonder if that
[6:05] Speaker 4: kind of swayed me because we were really close by then,
[6:08] Speaker 4: and I wanted to spend the rest of the three
[6:11] Speaker 4: and a half years of college with those friends. So
[6:14] Speaker 4: I do think in some ways it was a little
[6:16] Speaker 4: bit of a group decision.
[6:18] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I think for me going into Rush, having
[6:21] Speaker 1: two sisters had already gone through Rush and had gone
[6:24] Speaker 1: through my same school definitely like swayed me to like
[6:29] Speaker 1: those sororities and also like feel pressure to maybe like
[6:33] Speaker 1: try harder in them.
[6:35] Speaker 2: So like going in I.
[6:37] Speaker 1: Never got Theta, which is which is the same, but
[6:41] Speaker 1: like both whatever, now either of us such a scandal
[6:45] Speaker 1: pretty interesting, but it turned out okay. And then I
[6:48] Speaker 1: obviously got Sigma Kappa, and then I would go to
[6:51] Speaker 1: the other houses and like have ones that I liked,
[6:53] Speaker 1: but then obviously like thinking about how fun it would
[6:57] Speaker 1: be if I went the same house as my sister.
[6:59] Speaker 1: That was like I would have a whole year with
[7:01] Speaker 1: her in the same sulready and not the same school.
[7:03] Speaker 1: That was like definitely like a weighing factor into how
[7:06] Speaker 1: much I wanted to be in it, And I think
[7:08] Speaker 1: it turned out great because we had like formals together
[7:10] Speaker 1: and like so much fun stuff going on.
[7:12] Speaker 3: What about you Green, My mom was a pid fact,
[7:17] Speaker 3: Yeah she dad was a doubt. She was a pide fact.
[7:21] Speaker 3: So so I think you know that was definitely in
[7:24] Speaker 3: my head.
[7:25] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[7:25] Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't know that either.
[7:26] Speaker 2: Mom. That's cool, it's so cute.
[7:29] Speaker 1: Do you think each person in here ended up in
[7:32] Speaker 1: the right house for them? I genuinely do I did,
[7:36] Speaker 1: So I don't know, Yeah I did.
[7:37] Speaker 2: I don't think I did. Yeah, I don't. I definitely
[7:40] Speaker 2: don't think I did. Yeah, I think I don't know.
[7:43] Speaker 1: There were so many different factors that played into it.
[7:46] Speaker 2: Having my first rush.
[7:48] Speaker 1: Bea COVID and then it didn't really go great, and
[7:51] Speaker 1: then I re rushed and ended up in DATA.
[7:54] Speaker 2: I'm glad that I went DATA.
[7:57] Speaker 1: I liked it a lot, but ultimately I just felt
[8:00] Speaker 1: like being in a younger pledge class, and then everyone
[8:04] Speaker 1: my age being in the pledge class above me, I
[8:07] Speaker 1: didn't have the same opportunities to.
[8:08] Speaker 2: Make friends and stuff.
[8:10] Speaker 1: And then once I got in there, I kind of
[8:11] Speaker 1: realized that I don't know, just most of my friends
[8:14] Speaker 1: were outside of my sorority in college. Yeah, I think
[8:17] Speaker 1: there could have been like a better fit for you,
[8:19] Speaker 1: and I'd never like there was maybe, but I don't
[8:22] Speaker 1: even know which house it would have been. I also
[8:24] Speaker 1: just don't.
[8:24] Speaker 2: Know how much I fit into like sorority life. Yeah,
[8:27] Speaker 2: like I didn't.
[8:28] Speaker 1: Once I was in it, I was like, oh, this
[8:30] Speaker 1: is it. Yeah, did any of you almost not rush?
[8:35] Speaker 1: And how would that have altered your.
[8:36] Speaker 2: Life had you not rushed? I think we all were
[8:39] Speaker 2: pretty set.
[8:40] Speaker 4: I knew I wanted to just from Grammy's experiences. Yeah,
[8:43] Speaker 4: I knew that I wanted to for sure.
[8:45] Speaker 2: Yeah, I always knew I wanted to as well.
[8:48] Speaker 1: I thought about not rushing, but I think, like having
[8:52] Speaker 1: clearly like my whole lineagewer, I was like I kind
[8:56] Speaker 1: of want to and like I'll kind of just do
[8:57] Speaker 1: it for fun. And then I went into it not
[8:59] Speaker 1: being serious about it, which I think really helped the
[9:02] Speaker 1: process and I think it ended up good and I'm
[9:04] Speaker 1: glad I did it. I think I was way more
[9:07] Speaker 1: serious about it.
[9:08] Speaker 2: Yeah, hurt the process, yea.
[9:09] Speaker 1: I was like, oh, everybody I know, like all the
[9:12] Speaker 1: women in my life have been in sororities. I need
[9:15] Speaker 1: to make this work, even if it's not something that
[9:17] Speaker 1: I don't even thought. I don't even think I thought
[9:20] Speaker 1: about if I wanted it or not. Yeah. I think
[9:22] Speaker 1: I was just like, oh, this is something you you're
[9:24] Speaker 1: supposed to yeah, yeah, And so I went into it
[9:27] Speaker 1: and I was like, I gotta get it done. And
[9:28] Speaker 1: then I was like overly serious about it. Was there
[9:33] Speaker 1: a specific conversation, moment or person that made you feel
[9:37] Speaker 1: like you belonged in your house.
[9:41] Speaker 4: Probably like at PREF. You know, once theys down to
[9:44] Speaker 4: PREF and you have actual, like substance conversations with people
[9:49] Speaker 4: and you really are connecting. I think that's the first
[9:53] Speaker 4: point where I felt that connection.
[9:55] Speaker 1: Yeah, there was a girl that I talked to that's
[9:58] Speaker 1: from our hometown, Rush, and I think she kind of
[10:02] Speaker 1: gave me a lot of clarity and I could relate
[10:04] Speaker 1: to her a lot because we had the same experience
[10:08] Speaker 1: growing up and then we're headed to or I was
[10:11] Speaker 1: headed to the same school as her. So I feel
[10:13] Speaker 1: like that was a really meaningful conversation for me looking back,
[10:16] Speaker 1: and just made me feel like I could really resonate
[10:18] Speaker 1: with the sorority. I remember, I think it was the
[10:22] Speaker 1: first or second round, so it was.
[10:23] Speaker 2: Pretty early on, but.
[10:26] Speaker 1: The first or second time I wanted to Sigma Kappa.
[10:29] Speaker 1: I talked to a girl that was like from same
[10:32] Speaker 1: as us, like the same coast, like near us where
[10:35] Speaker 1: we're from, and she ended up being my big but
[10:38] Speaker 1: we had a conversation about just like really similar interests,
[10:41] Speaker 1: and she just made me feel so comfortable because she
[10:43] Speaker 1: was also just so like relaxed and like authentic, and
[10:46] Speaker 1: I think that really made me feel at home. And
[10:50] Speaker 1: then I continued to meet such amazing girls in my sorority,
[10:53] Speaker 1: and then I ended up going that one and now
[10:54] Speaker 1: she's my big so and.
[10:55] Speaker 2: Gets back to you to talk. Yeah, I gets who
[10:58] Speaker 2: much just together didn't happen? That's a good idea.
[11:04] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[11:04] Speaker 3: Yeah, well I always heard about Fi FI from my mom.
[11:08] Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, and so I really think that did have
[11:10] Speaker 3: something to do with it. I'm just so glad that
[11:13] Speaker 3: I joined because it was a really.
[11:15] Speaker 2: Good fit for me. Yeah what college did Grammantine? She
[11:19] Speaker 2: went Insteady, that's so cool.
[11:25] Speaker 1: Is there a house that you almost joined that would
[11:28] Speaker 1: have completely changed your experience?
[11:32] Speaker 4: I didn't know it at the time, but if I
[11:34] Speaker 4: had gone a certain other one, I wouldn't have fit in.
[11:38] Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree, there was definitely one that I really wanted,
[11:41] Speaker 1: but looking back, I'm so glad that I wasn't in it.
[11:45] Speaker 1: I was in between two until pref and a girl
[11:49] Speaker 1: from our hometown that's older talk to me a lot
[11:53] Speaker 1: while I was there, and like I was, I felt
[11:56] Speaker 1: pretty at home there too, and like a lot of
[11:58] Speaker 1: my friends were going that sorty that I'm not really on.
[12:01] Speaker 1: So it was kind of hard to choose between the two.
[12:03] Speaker 1: But I think like ultimately having my sister in one
[12:07] Speaker 1: and having all these other amazing people that I met
[12:09] Speaker 1: and one like ended up meet going sidne Kappa. But
[12:12] Speaker 1: I was actually very close to going another.
[12:15] Speaker 2: One in going a different direction. If I had stuck
[12:18] Speaker 2: with Rush freshman year, I would have been in a
[12:20] Speaker 2: house that I really did.
[12:21] Speaker 1: I'm a lot, but I was kind of glad that
[12:26] Speaker 1: I was like, no, this is not for me.
[12:29] Speaker 2: Try to get next year.
[12:31] Speaker 1: Yeah, did you ever witness a girl or someone that
[12:35] Speaker 1: you knew have a complete breakdown during Rush week?
[12:38] Speaker 2: Or was that you.
[12:41] Speaker 1: That was making that's a lot of girls cry. It's
[12:43] Speaker 1: so many tears. Yeah, so many tears. Gets so emotional.
[12:46] Speaker 1: It gets very emotional, especially like the further along it goes. Yeah,
[12:50] Speaker 1: I definitely saw like I had to console a few
[12:52] Speaker 1: of my friends, but nothing too crazy. There was like
[12:55] Speaker 1: a few Like I looked by the bathroom one time,
[12:57] Speaker 1: someone was like actually screaming, and I was like, are
[12:59] Speaker 1: you okay? But let's like, I think it's so intensified
[13:03] Speaker 1: because at least that you see, it's the week before school,
[13:06] Speaker 1: and so you just have moved to this new place.
[13:10] Speaker 1: Not even everybody has moved on the campus yet. It's
[13:12] Speaker 1: just the girls who are rushing, and so it's so
[13:15] Speaker 1: amplified because you're just only around other people who are rushing.
[13:18] Speaker 1: You're in this new environment. It's like I've been competitive,
[13:21] Speaker 1: made friends. Yeah, it is a little competitive, and.
[13:24] Speaker 2: It's just emotions are hot. You're just thrown into this
[13:27] Speaker 2: like crazy and exhausted.
[13:29] Speaker 5: Oh my god, and it's so hot, so long outside.
[13:50] Speaker 1: What is the shadiest thing you saw happen behind the scenes?
[13:54] Speaker 2: I think us not getting FATA, like what was up
[13:57] Speaker 2: that was still to this day, I don't know fish.
[14:00] Speaker 2: It was so sauce.
[14:02] Speaker 1: Yeah, And I think my program, who I found out
[14:05] Speaker 1: was a THEYDA tuttle tales on the fact that I
[14:10] Speaker 1: said I didn't want to go the same one as
[14:12] Speaker 1: my sister and I wanted to do my own thing. Yeah,
[14:15] Speaker 1: so I do think she was, because otherwise I don't
[14:17] Speaker 1: know why you wouldn't have got it exactly.
[14:20] Speaker 2: I think that was pretty shady. I think so too.
[14:22] Speaker 1: I have no idea why I didn't get it, but
[14:24] Speaker 1: everything worked out, it did. Is there any dirty Russian
[14:28] Speaker 1: going on?
[14:29] Speaker 2: Not that I recall. No, no, no, Catholic school.
[14:36] Speaker 1: What is the stereotype of your sorority and how true
[14:39] Speaker 1: was it?
[14:40] Speaker 2: What do you think, Grammy I could be positive or day? Yeah.
[14:46] Speaker 3: No, I think there were a lot of really pretty
[14:50] Speaker 3: girls in there, and I think it might have had
[14:53] Speaker 3: something to do with the reputation, you know, and but
[14:59] Speaker 3: nice girls too and smart girls, and you know, I
[15:03] Speaker 3: was really happy with my choice.
[15:06] Speaker 4: Mine was I would say, like the damn to earth
[15:08] Speaker 4: kind of girls, like not the most partiers or going
[15:14] Speaker 4: out or dressed up or that kind of thing. It
[15:17] Speaker 4: was more like down to earth And I liked that.
[15:19] Speaker 2: It's cool. Yeah, that's great. Sarahize is the party girl. Yeah,
[15:23] Speaker 2: we are the posts.
[15:24] Speaker 1: A lot of the like my PC of like frats
[15:27] Speaker 1: would say that they love sk because like we're just
[15:29] Speaker 1: so fun.
[15:30] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[15:30] Speaker 1: But also I think a lot of people know that
[15:33] Speaker 1: we were hard and play hard because we're thirty and
[15:35] Speaker 1: grades totally. Yeah, we did get thirty grades this year,
[15:38] Speaker 1: And I think that's very true because everyone I know
[15:40] Speaker 1: is super smart but can also have a really good time.
[15:43] Speaker 1: Everyone I know was like very leadership oriented in sk
[15:46] Speaker 1: and I think it's just kind of like well rounded people.
[15:51] Speaker 1: Mine was always talking in grades, and so I think
[15:53] Speaker 1: that people thought that we might have struggled to have fun,
[15:56] Speaker 1: but we had a lot of fun and Ring by
[15:59] Speaker 1: Span like ring by Spray all, and that was pretty
[16:03] Speaker 1: true because every chapter we would have to do that
[16:05] Speaker 1: ring ceremony when somebody gauji aged. You have to pass
[16:08] Speaker 1: it around in the circle and sing the song and
[16:11] Speaker 1: then they tell the whole story of their engagement and
[16:13] Speaker 1: then suddenly chapter is two and a half hours, and
[16:17] Speaker 1: we did a lot of that, So I would say
[16:19] Speaker 1: the Ring by.
[16:19] Speaker 2: Spring stereotype was pretty true.
[16:23] Speaker 1: Was there a moment where you thought you were gonna
[16:25] Speaker 1: get cut from your top choice and.
[16:28] Speaker 2: What did that feel like? I was pretty confident.
[16:33] Speaker 1: I just like talked about it so much like with
[16:35] Speaker 1: my rogam and with like a couple other people's rogams,
[16:39] Speaker 1: Like I'd just like be in a scenario where I
[16:41] Speaker 1: would be talking to mine and then I would get
[16:44] Speaker 1: in a conversation with all of them and start talking
[16:46] Speaker 1: about like how I felt really confident and I was
[16:49] Speaker 1: kind of scared I was getting over confident and that
[16:51] Speaker 1: like that.
[16:51] Speaker 2: Would maybe spoil my chances.
[16:53] Speaker 1: So I definitely thought like my big mouth would like
[16:56] Speaker 1: maybe get me in trouble.
[16:58] Speaker 2: But I think that's really the only one that I thought,
[17:00] Speaker 2: like anything could go wrong.
[17:04] Speaker 1: I think I would get worried just because I was
[17:07] Speaker 1: in my own head, not because anything was actually, but
[17:11] Speaker 1: I think I would just think about it so much
[17:13] Speaker 1: and I was like, oh, I'm definitely gonna get caught.
[17:17] Speaker 1: And then I don't know your mind just like, yeah,
[17:19] Speaker 1: I play stricks on you totally.
[17:22] Speaker 3: I would say that, yeah, And that was like me too,
[17:25] Speaker 3: you really never know. I really worried about everything. And
[17:29] Speaker 3: it was the beginning of school too, so you know, yeah.
[17:33] Speaker 1: And then you look back and you're like, oh, why
[17:35] Speaker 1: was I so worried about that?
[17:36] Speaker 4: It works out well, people always say, and I do
[17:39] Speaker 4: honestly think it's true.
[17:40] Speaker 2: In the case of sorority rash.
[17:43] Speaker 4: You have to trust the process because it is such
[17:46] Speaker 4: an interesting process and it's like you really you have
[17:50] Speaker 4: to just trust it and see it through and it
[17:52] Speaker 4: usually works out, but it's not. Maybe you know what
[17:55] Speaker 4: you expected, but it has weird ways of working out.
[17:57] Speaker 1: It's never very Yeah, I agree, you really have to
[18:01] Speaker 1: let go of the right to just let it happen.
[18:03] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[18:04] Speaker 1: Do you think that that's your biggest piece of advice
[18:06] Speaker 1: to anybody who would be Russian?
[18:08] Speaker 4: Yes, And it sounds cliche, but unless you go through it,
[18:11] Speaker 4: you don't even understand.
[18:12] Speaker 2: You just have to trust it. So yeah, because the.
[18:15] Speaker 4: Way that things are tallied and all of that is Yeah,
[18:21] Speaker 4: because there's so much on the back end that you're
[18:23] Speaker 4: just never gonna understand as a P and M or
[18:25] Speaker 4: like a rushie and so kind of just leaning into.
[18:29] Speaker 2: The process, I feel like it's.
[18:30] Speaker 1: The best way to go about it. I agree with that.
[18:33] Speaker 1: I think like watching so many of my friends at
[18:35] Speaker 1: like harsher More southern schools where it's just like super cutthroat,
[18:38] Speaker 1: was really interesting because they would get like super distraught
[18:41] Speaker 1: if they had a house that they thought they really
[18:43] Speaker 1: liked and like thought that it was like both sided
[18:46] Speaker 1: like this already liked them too, and they would get
[18:48] Speaker 1: cut and then now seeing them in their sorty that
[18:51] Speaker 1: they ended up in, Like they're so happy. So I
[18:53] Speaker 1: think it's just like everything works out in the weirdest ways.
[18:56] Speaker 1: But to really just like keep showing up and just
[18:58] Speaker 1: like put your best face on it, it's like the
[19:01] Speaker 1: only thing you can do.
[19:02] Speaker 2: What do you think?
[19:03] Speaker 1: Also, I think if you have something in mind that
[19:06] Speaker 1: you're super stuck on, I think it's really important to
[19:10] Speaker 1: just have an open mind and experience different houses because
[19:14] Speaker 1: sometimes they can surprise you.
[19:17] Speaker 2: Yeah, okay. Last question is for Grammy.
[19:22] Speaker 1: How do you think, based on hearing about all of
[19:25] Speaker 1: our experiences generationally, how do you think that rush has changed?
[19:30] Speaker 2: And would you want to rush if you were us?
[19:34] Speaker 2: That's interesting.
[19:35] Speaker 3: I don't know if I would rush, you know, but
[19:41] Speaker 3: I did enjoy it very much. We couldn't move in
[19:44] Speaker 3: until our sophomore year. Oh yeah, yeah, so just three years.
[19:48] Speaker 3: And I have remained friends with those girls for so long.
[19:52] Speaker 3: So in fact, I just had lunch with one of
[19:55] Speaker 3: the last week and we're talking about going up to
[19:59] Speaker 3: Portland to meet with a couple other girls. So yeah,
[20:04] Speaker 3: but I don't think I could beat what happened yeaheah
[20:08] Speaker 3: the last time. So there was nothing negative about.
