[0:02] Speaker 1: Two Teas in a Pod with Teddy Mellencamp and Tamara Judge.
[0:09] Speaker 2: Hi, guys.
[0:10] Speaker 3: Welcome to another episode of The Twat Seat with myself,
[0:13] Speaker 3: Teddy Mellencamp.
[0:14] Speaker 4: And Tamara Judge.
[0:16] Speaker 3: And we have two very special guests on today. The
[0:18] Speaker 3: first one is Elizabeth Chambers. She is the owner of
[0:23] Speaker 3: Bird Bakery and the host of the show Toxic on ID. HBO, Max,
[0:28] Speaker 3: and Hulu. A mom of two children divorced after being
[0:31] Speaker 3: married to Armie Hammer for 10 years.
[0:33] Speaker 4: Oh, scandal.
[0:35] Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
[0:36] Speaker 3: And now she's the new co-host of the podcast Dash.
[0:41] Speaker 4: We also have Marissa Hermer. Marissa Hermer is a divorced
[0:44] Speaker 4: mother of three children and three dogs, but you may
[0:47] Speaker 4: recognize her from the TV show Ladies of London. She
[0:51] Speaker 4: also owns a restaurant in Palm Springs and now a
[0:54] Speaker 4: co-host of her own podcast, The Dash. So Marissa and
[0:57] Speaker 4: Elizabeth started a podcast, I believe, in August, and it's
[1:01] Speaker 4: called The Dash, and we're going to talk to them
[1:02] Speaker 4: about it.
[1:03] Speaker 3: Perfect. Let's bring them in.
[1:05] Speaker 4: Hi, guys.
[1:07] Speaker 1: Hi.
[1:07] Speaker 3: How are you? I'm great.
[1:09] Speaker 1: Thanks for having us on. I'm so happy to see
[1:12] Speaker 1: you both.
[1:13] Speaker 4: We have never met, Elizabeth. Nice to meet you.
[1:16] Speaker 1: I feel like I just stalk you on the internet. Oh, really?
[1:19] Speaker 5: Oh, great.
[1:19] Speaker 1: I love it.
[1:20] Speaker 6: I love it.
[1:20] Speaker 3: Don't worry, we stalk you too. We have so much
[1:23] Speaker 3: to talk about.
[1:24] Speaker 4: First of all, congratulations on the new podcast, The Dash.
[1:28] Speaker 1: Thank you.
[1:29] Speaker 4: Yeah, Elizabeth, you were the one who asked Marissa to
[1:31] Speaker 4: do it with you. How did you guys become friends?
[1:35] Speaker 1: We've been friends for almost 10 years. We became friends
[1:38] Speaker 1: when Marissa literally was just like the most refreshing breath
[1:44] Speaker 1: of air ever. She was just like unapologetically herself. I
[1:48] Speaker 1: love her so much. I actually did low-key judge her
[1:51] Speaker 1: because she was so herself for a minute. And then
[1:54] Speaker 1: I was like, wait, actually, no, I've just been bored
[1:55] Speaker 1: with people in LA.
[1:56] Speaker 5: I also had a bottle of champagne at this point.
[1:59] Speaker 5: So I really liked it. I get more comfortable with myself,
[2:02] Speaker 5: the more.
[2:03] Speaker 6: And I think Elizabeth came in at like four glasses in.
[2:06] Speaker 5: So like I was real.
[2:08] Speaker 3: So you were at your best.
[2:10] Speaker 5: I was at my best.
[2:11] Speaker 1: I was at my best.
[2:13] Speaker 4: Elizabeth, did you watch her on ladies of London?
[2:15] Speaker 3: Do you know what?
[2:16] Speaker 1: I've never, I never did. And I, I did actually,
[2:21] Speaker 1: I told you, but I, but like recently I did
[2:23] Speaker 1: go back and watch an episode or two and I
[2:25] Speaker 1: was like, you're so likable. Like who's that likable on
[2:29] Speaker 1: reality TV? And it's just because that's her. And I
[2:33] Speaker 1: don't think you like let games get in your head. Like,
[2:36] Speaker 1: I don't know what happened the rest of the season,
[2:38] Speaker 1: but I was just like, that's my Morris.
[2:40] Speaker 4: Elizabeth, have you ever done a reality show?
[2:42] Speaker 1: Oh, I did. I did. Well, I wasn't supposed to be,
[2:45] Speaker 1: it was supposed to be like a docuseries about opening
[2:47] Speaker 1: bird bakery and Cayman islands. And that was supposed to
[2:50] Speaker 1: be that. And then it switched because the production company
[2:52] Speaker 1: left and that switched networks. And it became like a
[2:55] Speaker 1: thing where they were like casting people and it became
[2:57] Speaker 1: something totally different. But listen, I was in the Cayman
[3:00] Speaker 1: Islands and I know how to do two things in
[3:02] Speaker 1: this life. And that's restaurants and television. And I, that
[3:06] Speaker 1: was all I knew how to do there. And I
[3:08] Speaker 1: wanted to stay.
[3:09] Speaker 3: You're like going to make the most of this right now.
[3:11] Speaker 5: Totally.
[3:12] Speaker 1: Totally. I think it's tricky to manipulate, like to maneuver when,
[3:16] Speaker 1: you know, you're on that. Like, I don't know. I
[3:18] Speaker 1: just had, when I saw you, Marissa, I was like, how?
[3:21] Speaker 1: Is she just still her authentic self and so likable
[3:24] Speaker 1: on a reality show where people love drama?
[3:27] Speaker 3: Give me some tips, please. Tamara needs all the tips.
[3:32] Speaker 5: Honestly, I don't have any tips.
[3:36] Speaker 6: It was really when I did bump into drama, which
[3:39] Speaker 6: I did on a few occasions.
[3:41] Speaker 5: It like ripped my heart and soul out. Like I couldn't.
[3:44] Speaker 1: Sleep at night.
[3:45] Speaker 6: It was just, it was so challenging, but that's not
[3:48] Speaker 6: who I am naturally. But I think, I mean, I
[3:52] Speaker 6: just had, I just had Tracy over for dinner and
[3:55] Speaker 6: Juliet over for dinner.
[3:57] Speaker 5: Juliet said she just did your show.
[4:00] Speaker 1: Too.
[4:00] Speaker 5: So I had the two of them over for dinner,
[4:02] Speaker 5: a little like celebratory, you know, congratulations on your new shows.
[4:06] Speaker 6: And they are preparing for battle every day because I
[4:09] Speaker 6: think also when I did it, I hadn't really watched
[4:11] Speaker 6: a lot of reality television.
[4:12] Speaker 5: So I didn't know that's what I was supposed to do.
[4:15] Speaker 6: I think I actually was poor on reality television because
[4:20] Speaker 6: you need to really put on your battle battle armor
[4:23] Speaker 6: every day and go fight. That makes for interesting television.
[4:26] Speaker 6: So I'm glad there were some sort of fighter dramatic
[4:28] Speaker 6: women on my show.
[4:29] Speaker 5: Otherwise, it would have been a total flop. But, you know,
[4:32] Speaker 5: you do need to prepare.
[4:34] Speaker 6: For battle and be honesty and pick every fight and
[4:37] Speaker 6: create drama that you wouldn't really do, you know, maybe
[4:40] Speaker 6: around a normal dinner table.
[4:42] Speaker 5: And it's a lot of work. It's hard. You know,
[4:45] Speaker 5: I know Juliet, who has real friendships in that cast.
[4:49] Speaker 3: And then, like, Juliet A.
[4:51] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[4:53] Speaker 6: And then some of these friendships, you know, are totally grenaded.
[4:57] Speaker 6: And it's really challenging for her.
[4:59] Speaker 5: You know, it's a different... It's a lot. It takes
[5:02] Speaker 5: a lot.
[5:03] Speaker 4: Do you know anybody else on The Real Housewives of
[5:06] Speaker 4: London other than Juliet?
[5:08] Speaker 5: I know Amanda.
[5:09] Speaker 3: Oh, can you tell us a little bit about Amanda?
[5:13] Speaker 1: I don't.
[5:14] Speaker 5: Sorry.
[5:15] Speaker 6: I shouldn't say I know Amanda in the same breath
[5:17] Speaker 6: that I know Juliet.
[5:18] Speaker 3: Don't say you're her best friend. She'll chew your ass out.
[5:23] Speaker 6: I've met Amanda on a couple of occasions.
[5:26] Speaker 5: Juliet is a sister to me. You know, we have been.
[5:29] Speaker 6: when you do a reality show with someone, as you
[5:32] Speaker 6: both know, you go to the moon with someone. So
[5:34] Speaker 6: even if you fight, and I think it was season three, Julia,
[5:38] Speaker 6: between season two and three, we got into a, an
[5:41] Speaker 6: enormous fight.
[5:42] Speaker 5: We didn't speak for a couple of years.
[5:43] Speaker 6: Um, and it was heartbreaking for us and for our
[5:46] Speaker 6: families and for our, you know, real life friends. Um,
[5:51] Speaker 6: but then we obviously came back together because she is
[5:53] Speaker 6: a very dear friend. And, you know, she was over
[5:54] Speaker 6: at my house the other night when she was in town. Um,
[5:57] Speaker 6: I've heard of Amanda through Juliet often. So I, whilst
[6:02] Speaker 6: I've only met her on a couple of occasions, I.
[6:04] Speaker 5: Don't know her intimately.
[6:06] Speaker 6: I know her through Julia and they were real friends
[6:09] Speaker 6: in the pandemic. Like I remember hearing all about Amanda
[6:12] Speaker 6: and that she hosted like something for.
[6:14] Speaker 5: A man at our house and they were, they were
[6:16] Speaker 5: very close friends. So to see.
[6:18] Speaker 6: Some of the clips and to come out that that
[6:21] Speaker 6: wasn't the case was surprising. And let me tell you,
[6:24] Speaker 6: as a friend of Juliet, If someone called me out
[6:29] Speaker 6: on something, I would probably just be like, oh yeah,
[6:31] Speaker 6: you're right.
[6:32] Speaker 5: Like I'm not a confrontational person.
[6:35] Speaker 6: I wouldn't pull out the receipts or the text messages
[6:37] Speaker 6: or anything like that. Juliette will because she will make
[6:41] Speaker 6: sure she's like this.
[6:42] Speaker 3: She's got TV. No, she will. She will die on
[6:44] Speaker 3: the hill. She's got to be right. Or yeah.
[6:47] Speaker 5: So don't try and pull a fast one over Juliette.
[6:49] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[6:50] Speaker 4: Well, let's switch it over to your podcast. So tell
[6:52] Speaker 4: us about your podcast.
[6:53] Speaker 1: I'm learning a lot. Let's actually stay here. Why don't
[6:58] Speaker 1: we get London though? It doesn't come at the same time.
[7:02] Speaker 4: I asked one of the producers today, I said, are
[7:04] Speaker 4: we going to get London? And he said, we don't
[7:07] Speaker 4: know yet. So Bravo hasn't picked it up. So hopefully we,
[7:13] Speaker 4: we got, we got the first season, but I just
[7:15] Speaker 4: wish the first season.
[7:15] Speaker 3: But they would drop us two episodes at a time
[7:18] Speaker 3: a week.
[7:18] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[7:18] Speaker 1: Okay. Well I'm invested now.
[7:20] Speaker 3: I mean, go watch, go watch.
[7:22] Speaker 1: I needed exactly. Yeah.
[7:25] Speaker 5: We can talk about our podcast.
[7:27] Speaker 6: Basically what I'm talking about, like in one episode, which
[7:29] Speaker 6: it hasn't dropped yet, which I'm feeling right now is
[7:32] Speaker 6: how I swear I'm perimenopausal.
[7:35] Speaker 5: And I'm so hot right now. I need to like
[7:37] Speaker 5: take off my shirt. Like, I don't know.
[7:39] Speaker 1: She does take off her shirt. This is what we
[7:43] Speaker 1: love about Marissa. It's like she got really hot and
[7:47] Speaker 1: she's like, I just have to take my shirt off.
[7:48] Speaker 1: And listen, she does. I always say she has the
[7:50] Speaker 1: best boobs in Hollywood. Marissa has the best boobs in Hollywood.
[7:54] Speaker 5: Called Dr. Tidal Bomb you can have them too.
[7:56] Speaker 1: And nine out of ten Dr.
[7:58] Speaker 3: Titty Bomb what's his name Tidal Bomb I.
[8:01] Speaker 6: Call him Titty Bomb for sure like his nickname but
[8:03] Speaker 6: like his name is Dr.
[8:05] Speaker 1: Tidal Bomb but like don't we just love that girl
[8:08] Speaker 1: that does not gatekeep I just I think that is
[8:11] Speaker 1: everything that Marissa is and everything that our pod is
[8:14] Speaker 1: is that we don't gatekeep we're gonna put it all
[8:17] Speaker 1: out there um She actually calls Dr. Teitelbaum for like
[8:21] Speaker 1: flu symptoms of her children. I have to remind her like.
[8:23] Speaker 6: Your boob doctor is not like your GP. He always
[8:28] Speaker 6: picks up because I've sent so many people to him.
[8:30] Speaker 5: He has no boundaries.
[8:32] Speaker 6: He always gets back to me immediately.
[8:34] Speaker 1: He has no boundaries.
[8:35] Speaker 3: That's a good thing. That's a good thing about that. Well,
[8:37] Speaker 3: I also heard, I was listening to a clip from
[8:39] Speaker 3: your podcast and I was laughing so hard because I think, Elizabeth,
[8:44] Speaker 3: you were talking about how you went on a date
[8:46] Speaker 3: with somebody and you, as you're going inside their house,
[8:50] Speaker 3: you have to take your fake hair out and you
[8:53] Speaker 3: leave it on like a bush or something outside the house.
[8:57] Speaker 3: I mean, normally you.
[8:58] Speaker 1: Put it in your purse, but like it was small.
[9:01] Speaker 5: Small purse. I don't know. You know, that was.
[9:04] Speaker 1: A couple years ago when I first reentered society from
[9:07] Speaker 1: the Cayman.
[9:07] Speaker 5: Islands and I was worried.
[9:09] Speaker 1: And now I'm just like, you get the weave and
[9:12] Speaker 1: you get it all. Like, I'm not tossing the weave anymore.
[9:16] Speaker 4: Were you by any chance hiding out in the Cayman Islands?
[9:19] Speaker 1: No, not at all. It's just as great because I
[9:23] Speaker 1: think paparazzi is actually illegal there. I wasn't hiding it.
[9:26] Speaker 1: I was actually living my best, just most incredible life.
[9:31] Speaker 3: Which you deserve.
[9:32] Speaker 1: Yes, yes. It was magical. It was like you cocoon
[9:37] Speaker 1: after trauma and then you just become a butterfly. And
[9:40] Speaker 1: it was cocoon and butterfly all at the same time.
[9:42] Speaker 1: That's great. It was pretty magical. But I did, coming
[9:46] Speaker 1: back to LA... I don't know why I felt like
[9:49] Speaker 1: I couldn't have like two clip-in extensions in while I
[9:52] Speaker 1: was hooking up with a man. Now I'm like, they're
[9:58] Speaker 1: all in feeling. it. Yeah.
[10:01] Speaker 3: Enjoy it.
[10:02] Speaker 1: I do think tossing the weave is a great euphemism
[10:05] Speaker 1: for hooking up. And I think we should all integrate
[10:07] Speaker 1: that into our work. I love that.
[10:09] Speaker 3: I mean, imagine I have to do it and I
[10:10] Speaker 3: have no hair. So like somebody's over, I'm in a
[10:13] Speaker 3: full wig and then it's like, it's time for action.
[10:16] Speaker 3: And then it's like, hold on. This is what you
[10:21] Speaker 3: really got yourself into, buddy.
[10:22] Speaker 1: Yeah, but thankfully, Teddy, your bone structure.
[10:25] Speaker 4: Varies the way.
[10:27] Speaker 1: Like you have everything. I mean, that's like you still
[10:30] Speaker 1: are stunning.
[10:32] Speaker 3: Teddy, you can be bald and you're fine.
[10:35] Speaker 4: I think you're just right now going through that in-between
[10:37] Speaker 4: stage where it's not that short and not that long.
[10:40] Speaker 3: It's K plus eight.
[10:41] Speaker 4: That Kate Gosselin look.
[10:43] Speaker 1: Yeah. Now you just need some still look beautiful.
[10:45] Speaker 4: Now you guys have both been divorced for a couple
[10:47] Speaker 4: of years now. Would you give Teddy any advice to
[10:50] Speaker 4: navigate through her separation, co-parenting, dating?
[10:54] Speaker 5: Oh, by the way, I can say I'm not yet divorced.
[10:57] Speaker 5: I'm still going.
[10:58] Speaker 3: I was going to say, Marissa and I know each
[11:00] Speaker 3: other through our husbands.
[11:03] Speaker 5: Yeah. Can you call them husbands?
[11:06] Speaker 1: Are they?
[11:06] Speaker 6: All right.
[11:07] Speaker 3: Well, we, I call my estranged husband.
[11:11] Speaker 1: Formally known. Okay.
[11:12] Speaker 3: Because we're still married.
[11:14] Speaker 5: So it's... I could call it, yeah, estranged.
[11:16] Speaker 3: I mean, it doesn't sound great.
[11:18] Speaker 1: No, I think, like, formal.
[11:20] Speaker 5: I mean, if it meant to be great, we're going
[11:22] Speaker 5: for it.
[11:23] Speaker 1: I don't think you should say, like, estranged. You're formerly...
[11:26] Speaker 1: They are part of your.
[11:28] Speaker 5: Formerly known as Marissa's husband.
[11:30] Speaker 3: Correct. There you go.
[11:32] Speaker 4: And what are you waiting for, Marissa? Is it just
[11:34] Speaker 4: taking a long time to divorce, or is it stalled?
[11:36] Speaker 5: Do you know what?
[11:38] Speaker 6: I wasn't... When we separated, there wasn't a sense of
[11:43] Speaker 6: urgency to get a divorce. I'm not looking to get
[11:46] Speaker 6: remarried immediately, maybe ever. I don't need to rush through this,
[11:52] Speaker 6: nor did my soon-to-be ex-husband. And then also, we have
[11:57] Speaker 6: three kids together, too. And life does happen, even though
[12:00] Speaker 6: you don't actually want it to.
[12:04] Speaker 5: And divorce is also.
[12:05] Speaker 6: a full-time job, which Teddy, you are probably finding out
[12:08] Speaker 6: as well with which Elizabeth is well aware of. And so,
[12:11] Speaker 6: and at the time we, Matt and I, you know,
[12:13] Speaker 6: we also were working together as well. So trying to do,
[12:18] Speaker 6: you know, I think we were even, yeah, we were
[12:19] Speaker 6: opening up a restaurant and it sort of just fell to.
[12:23] Speaker 5: The back burner for no reason.
[12:24] Speaker 6: Now it's full speed ahead and, you know, lawyers and
[12:28] Speaker 6: boring back and forth.
[12:29] Speaker 1: Like, I think it's so exhausting. And Teddy, you know,
[12:32] Speaker 1: this it's like, we want to be creating things and
[12:35] Speaker 1: building things, right? Like you want to be, have your
[12:38] Speaker 1: energy and your time go to upward momentum. And it's just,
[12:42] Speaker 1: it's so annoying. Yeah.
[12:44] Speaker 3: I know people with me are like, why, why haven't
[12:47] Speaker 3: you gone further into your divorce? Like, because before the
[12:51] Speaker 3: cancer stuff, like I was like pedal to the metal.
[12:54] Speaker 3: Like I was like, I don't care how much money
[12:55] Speaker 3: I spend. I'm done with this. And like, I was angry.
[12:59] Speaker 3: And then I got sick and then it was like,
[13:02] Speaker 3: everything was like, and they're like, she can't go to
[13:05] Speaker 3: court right now. She barely remembers what day it is.
[13:10] Speaker 3: Like this isn't happening. And so now everything's just taken
[13:14] Speaker 3: like a halt. And I'm like, you know, as long
[13:16] Speaker 3: as the halt and we're getting along, it's fine. I
[13:20] Speaker 3: just never want to feel like I'm in a situation
[13:24] Speaker 3: where I feel like stuck.
[13:26] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[13:27] Speaker 6: Totally. I'm in the exact, I'm in the exact same place, Teddy.
[13:30] Speaker 6: I mean, life happened to you. Life happened to me.
[13:35] Speaker 6: The divorce has taken longer. I do think it's, you know,
[13:39] Speaker 6: for both my soon to be exes, I don't know.
[13:44] Speaker 1: What to call them.
[13:44] Speaker 5: You have, do you have two mental? Yeah.
[13:47] Speaker 3: I was like, X is how many are you now?
[13:49] Speaker 3: We have another thing.
[13:51] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[13:52] Speaker 3: Let's start this rumor.
[13:53] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[13:54] Speaker 3: Marissa from Utah.
[13:57] Speaker 6: No, for his mental health, for my mental health, I
[14:00] Speaker 6: do think there is also, it will be good for
[14:04] Speaker 6: both of us.
[14:05] Speaker 5: To have this behind us.
[14:07] Speaker 6: I also do think there is a morning that will
[14:12] Speaker 6: come with that.
[14:13] Speaker 1: I don't know, Elizabeth, share this, but if you did.
[14:15] Speaker 6: Whenever that final paper, you know, whenever the divorce is final,
[14:20] Speaker 6: I believe that will also bring its own sense of
[14:23] Speaker 6: sadness and grief and mourning. And even though this is
[14:27] Speaker 6: something that I fought for and wanted, you know.
[14:30] Speaker 5: It is sad. Like this is not what I wanted actually.
[14:34] Speaker 6: When I signed up for this life and when I
[14:36] Speaker 6: chose Matt and my arc, like I didn't want this.
[14:39] Speaker 6: And so there, I'd like to have that morning behind
[14:42] Speaker 6: me soon so I can like continue on.
[14:44] Speaker 5: But It takes the time that it's taking right now.
[14:55] Speaker 3: Your divorce or your relationship became sensational. Like, everybody was
[15:00] Speaker 3: a part of it.
[15:01] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[15:02] Speaker 3: How did you find a way? Like, one, how long
[15:06] Speaker 3: did you know that was going on before you finally
[15:09] Speaker 3: were like, okay, breaks. I gotta hit the breaks. This
[15:13] Speaker 3: isn't for me. Or was it just one of those
[15:15] Speaker 3: things that was just one day?
[15:17] Speaker 1: No, and Marissa and I talk about this a lot
[15:18] Speaker 1: because she was so much further down the road in
[15:22] Speaker 1: terms of being like done with her marriage. And for me,
[15:26] Speaker 1: I was like so optimistic yet kept being presented with,
[15:31] Speaker 1: you know, circumstances that were not sustainable in a marriage
[15:35] Speaker 1: and that I wouldn't want my daughter to put up with.
[15:39] Speaker 1: So I think, again, like, you know, I'm from Texas.
[15:42] Speaker 1: My parents, I mean... I, Marissa always says she loves
[15:46] Speaker 1: the universe. I love Jesus. Like the last thing that
[15:48] Speaker 1: we want ever, anyone.
[15:51] Speaker 5: Is a divorce.
[15:51] Speaker 1: You don't go into this thinking it's going to end.
[15:56] Speaker 1: So Marissa was like so done. I'm sorry if I'm
[15:57] Speaker 1: like speaking on your behalf, but literally I do it
[15:59] Speaker 1: all the time. And so you can speak on my
[16:01] Speaker 1: behalf as well. But I think, you know, you get
[16:05] Speaker 1: to the point where you're like, okay, we're in therapy.
[16:07] Speaker 1: We're working with the best. I mean, we were working
[16:09] Speaker 1: with like Esther Perel. And I thought, If you're going
[16:12] Speaker 1: to do anything, do it to the most extreme of
[16:15] Speaker 1: your ability. Let's repair, um, everyone, you know, not everyone,
[16:19] Speaker 1: but there is such thing as an indiscretion. And then
[16:23] Speaker 1: you just realize, actually, this is not an indiscretion. This
[16:26] Speaker 1: is something that no matter what work we feel like
[16:29] Speaker 1: we're putting into it, um, may or may not persist.
[16:34] Speaker 1: And so that's the point that I just was like, um, listen,
[16:38] Speaker 1: I thought divorce was the worst thing in the world.
[16:40] Speaker 1: I thought ending, breaking up my family, which it ultimately is,
[16:43] Speaker 1: was like, actually, I will tell you guys this. This
[16:46] Speaker 1: is so crazy.
[16:47] Speaker 5: I remember, I.
[16:49] Speaker 1: Am a very prayerful person. I remember like praying on
[16:52] Speaker 1: my knees in my kitchen in the middle of the day, like,
[16:53] Speaker 1: thank you, God, for this day. Thank you for this life.
[16:55] Speaker 1: Thank you for my beautiful children. And I do think
[16:58] Speaker 1: that like divorce was actually my worst fear, which is
[17:02] Speaker 1: really interesting when you dive into something that is your
[17:04] Speaker 1: worst fear becoming A reality. It's almost like don't see
[17:08] Speaker 1: the trees. Don't see the trees when you're skiing and
[17:09] Speaker 1: like you hit a tree. I don't know. Like at
[17:11] Speaker 1: the end of the day, all you can do is
[17:13] Speaker 1: keep your side of the street clean and protect your children.
[17:17] Speaker 1: And that's ultimately all that matters.
[17:18] Speaker 3: So are you blindsided?
[17:20] Speaker 1: No. I mean, the first time, 100 percent.
[17:24] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[17:25] Speaker 1: 100 percent.
[17:25] Speaker 4: What do you mean the first time?
[17:27] Speaker 1: I mean, there was like, there, there was more than
[17:30] Speaker 1: one indiscretion. Yeah. And so I think like at the
[17:34] Speaker 1: end of the day, again, all that matters is children
[17:37] Speaker 1: and making sure that we don't traumatize our kids that
[17:41] Speaker 1: didn't ask to come into this world.
[17:42] Speaker 4: How old are your children now?
[17:44] Speaker 1: Mine are nine and 11 and.
[17:46] Speaker 4: They're amazing, but like fun ages.
[17:48] Speaker 6: Yeah.
[17:48] Speaker 1: It's so, they're like full people and just, they're, they're
[17:52] Speaker 1: everything that matters really like every, and that's the only
[17:55] Speaker 1: thing that the only guardrails we have with our pod
[17:57] Speaker 1: is like making sure that, you know, that we are
[18:00] Speaker 1: protecting them at all costs. But I do think to
[18:03] Speaker 1: answer your question earlier, Teddy, like with co-parenting and stuff,
[18:07] Speaker 1: I think all that matters is that they know they
[18:09] Speaker 1: have two parents that care about them and love them
[18:11] Speaker 1: so deeply. And yeah, is it ideal not to have everyone's,
[18:15] Speaker 1: your whole family under one roof? A hundred percent. Like
[18:18] Speaker 1: if they could wave a magic wand, if any divorced kids,
[18:20] Speaker 1: could wave a magic wand. I'm sure that's what they
[18:22] Speaker 1: would want.
[18:23] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[18:24] Speaker 4: How's your relationship with your ex?
[18:27] Speaker 5: I mean, we're cordial.
[18:28] Speaker 1: At the end of the day, I love the person
[18:32] Speaker 1: I married and people change. At the end of the day,
[18:35] Speaker 1: all we want them is to be there for their kids.
[18:37] Speaker 1: And that's all that matters. And that's what matters with Marissa.
[18:40] Speaker 1: And I had a conversation with a divorce friend this weekend.
[18:43] Speaker 1: And she's like, listen, at the end of the day, he's.
[18:48] Speaker 5: Her dad.
[18:48] Speaker 1: Like we don't get any daddy issues. So if they
[18:52] Speaker 1: can be there and present for their kids, then we're
[18:55] Speaker 1: going to support that a hundred percent. Yeah.
[18:57] Speaker 4: Right now, Marissa, you're dating a guy who you call spy.
[19:01] Speaker 5: The spy. Why?
[19:03] Speaker 4: How did you pick the code name?
[19:05] Speaker 5: It's so funny.
[19:06] Speaker 6: Elizabeth asked me about this the other day, and I
[19:07] Speaker 6: think I forgot the main point, how I chose the spy.
[19:11] Speaker 5: He came out of nowhere.
[19:15] Speaker 1: Yeah. He came out of Raya, bitch.
[19:19] Speaker 5: Sorry, never mind, never mind. I found him on the internet.
[19:24] Speaker 4: Can we make that a clip, please?
[19:25] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[19:25] Speaker 3: He came out of nowhere. He came out of Raya, bitch.
[19:28] Speaker 3: The fact that you could get on Raya and I
[19:31] Speaker 3: had to be slumming it on Hinge.
[19:34] Speaker 5: Why Raya?
[19:36] Speaker 6: By the way, apparently Hinge has more real connection.
[19:39] Speaker 3: Well, I have my real connection from Hinge and I
[19:42] Speaker 3: have a code name for him as well.
[19:44] Speaker 4: She's been calling her new guy, which drives me crazy,
[19:47] Speaker 4: Valley guy, which to me, just, I don't know. I
[19:50] Speaker 4: just don't want to date someone called Valley guy.
[19:52] Speaker 5: Well, does he live in the Valley? Nope.
[19:55] Speaker 3: So the day, the first, after the first date, I
[19:58] Speaker 3: couldn't remember where he told me he lived. And so
[20:02] Speaker 3: I was like, We're just going to say the Valley
[20:05] Speaker 3: because I don't know.
[20:06] Speaker 5: It's always safe.
[20:07] Speaker 6: It's like if you live in L.A., for sure the
[20:09] Speaker 6: Valley makes sense.
[20:10] Speaker 5: To all of us. It's like the big catch all.
[20:14] Speaker 1: Do we know where he lives now, Teddy?
[20:16] Speaker 3: Yes, we do. We do know where he lives.
[20:18] Speaker 1: Do we want to rebrand him?
[20:21] Speaker 3: He's now moved up to getting his name. She hard
[20:25] Speaker 3: launched his name today.
[20:26] Speaker 1: Oh.
[20:27] Speaker 4: I think only because the press figured it out.
[20:29] Speaker 3: It was only because the press figured out his name.
[20:31] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[20:36] Speaker 3: PJ PJ. Yeah.
[20:38] Speaker 4: I know we've been talking about him for months, but
[20:41] Speaker 4: Tamara's like, does he have a PJ?
[20:43] Speaker 1: Yeah. No. If he had PJ.
[20:50] Speaker 5: That would be his code name too.
[20:52] Speaker 3: I know, but then that would be so obnoxious.
[20:54] Speaker 4: So are you still dating a spy?
[20:57] Speaker 5: Yep.
[20:58] Speaker 6: I just saw the spy. I came in last night.
[21:01] Speaker 6: I saw him for a couple of nights. So the
[21:02] Speaker 6: reason why I did name him the spy, he didn't, look,
[21:05] Speaker 6: he didn't come out of nowhere. I did find him
[21:06] Speaker 6: on the internet, but he's, it's like he was sneaky undercover,
[21:12] Speaker 6: except he wasn't.
[21:13] Speaker 5: He was just being himself.
[21:14] Speaker 6: He's unlike any other guy I've ever dated or been
[21:18] Speaker 6: attracted to my entire life. He's like, he's not a narcissist.
[21:24] Speaker 6: He's not an asshole. He's not an egomaniac. He's not flashy.
[21:27] Speaker 5: He's none of those things. In fact, if anything, he's quieter,
[21:33] Speaker 5: like discreet, demure. And yeah, like I didn't see him coming.
[21:38] Speaker 4: That's how my husband is.
[21:39] Speaker 3: And it's refreshing.
[21:41] Speaker 5: Like a slow bird. And he kept showing up and being.
[21:44] Speaker 6: nice and sweet and smart and adorable and consistent. And like,
[21:50] Speaker 6: I'm not used to that. And so I, not that
[21:53] Speaker 6: I wasn't attracted to it in the beginning. In the past,
[21:57] Speaker 6: I've had these like crazy butterflies or like seen something
[22:00] Speaker 6: and being like, I want that or that. And this wasn't,
[22:03] Speaker 6: this was just like a slow, lovely burn that has
[22:08] Speaker 6: now become something real.
[22:10] Speaker 3: Has he met your kids?
[22:12] Speaker 6: Nice.
[22:12] Speaker 5: He met the kids.
[22:14] Speaker 3: Not the kids.
[22:15] Speaker 5: And the kids adore him.
[22:18] Speaker 6: And, you know, he's a divorced dad too.
[22:20] Speaker 5: So I like the divorced dad type is, again, I
[22:23] Speaker 5: didn't know who I wanted. I didn't really even want
[22:25] Speaker 5: to date anyone. I went on a lot of dates,
[22:27] Speaker 5: but I just thought that was something that I should do.
[22:29] Speaker 6: Not, I didn't actually want to like meet anyone because
[22:32] Speaker 6: also I'm very happy starfishing in bed at home by myself.
[22:36] Speaker 4: Starfishing.
[22:36] Speaker 3: Well, you know, one guy, I think we have a,
[22:39] Speaker 3: we've both gone on a date with the same guy
[22:41] Speaker 3: because I went on, I don't even remember his name.
[22:44] Speaker 3: It was so long ago, but I was like, we
[22:46] Speaker 3: have one mutual friend in common. It's Marissa Hermer. Then
[22:51] Speaker 3: I was like, how do you know Marissa Hermer?
[22:59] Speaker 1: I have to tell you guys more about the spy
[23:00] Speaker 1: for one second, because this is crazy. He was like
[23:02] Speaker 1: he I think he was in the CIA. And I'm like, girl,
[23:05] Speaker 1: I've seen his house in Aspen. It looks like the
[23:07] Speaker 1: cover of 80. I'm like, that man was not CIA.
[23:11] Speaker 1: I think he's like, BC is he actually I was
[23:16] Speaker 1: afraid that you were going to come home this weekend.
[23:17] Speaker 1: He was gonna be like, you guys have to stop
[23:18] Speaker 1: talking about me. I low-key thought that he was going
[23:20] Speaker 1: to say that or that you were going to be.
[23:23] Speaker 5: He's like a real person.
[23:24] Speaker 6: He's not going to listen to like, you know, reality
[23:27] Speaker 6: television podcasts and stuff like that.
[23:28] Speaker 3: You'd be surprised.
[23:31] Speaker 6: Please, in this episode that dropped this morning, I talk
[23:34] Speaker 6: about how I discovered a nipple hair.
[23:37] Speaker 5: Both of my nipples. And so I really don't want
[23:40] Speaker 5: him to listen to this. He was there. He saw
[23:44] Speaker 5: the fucking hair, Marissa. I moved everything around so quickly
[23:47] Speaker 5: that I don't know if he saw it.
[23:48] Speaker 3: Did you get the nipple hair?
[23:50] Speaker 4: I have one better. I have one better than that.
[23:54] Speaker 4: I was dating Eddie and he came up to me
[23:57] Speaker 4: and he's like, oh, is that a nipple hair? And
[24:00] Speaker 4: he plucked it.
[24:02] Speaker 5: No.
[24:03] Speaker 6: Yes. Well, yeah.
[24:05] Speaker 4: And I was mortified, embarrassed. I didn't even see it,
[24:08] Speaker 4: but I will say, I.
[24:11] Speaker 1: Know.
[24:11] Speaker 4: I was like, I had a lift and I had
[24:15] Speaker 4: my nipples made smaller. So they cut that hair right out.
[24:21] Speaker 1: It's not that deep. I'm like, well, it's that deep.
[24:23] Speaker 1: It's not that hard.
[24:24] Speaker 3: I'm like, it's very deep. Oh, Well, Alyssa, how come
[24:28] Speaker 3: they say that you rub in the cradle? Oh, yeah.
[24:32] Speaker 1: It's very weird. Like, it's very, I'm telling you, this
[24:34] Speaker 1: is very strange, you guys. I have only dated 23
[24:37] Speaker 1: to 25-year-olds, and it's not like a flat.
[24:41] Speaker 3: You're going younger than me.
[24:42] Speaker 5: They can't even grow facial hair. She's saying, you'll never
[24:46] Speaker 5: have a nipple hair.
[24:47] Speaker 1: 23. I don't, I think, you know, like it's, this
[24:53] Speaker 1: is not a flex or it's not like a, I don't,
[24:56] Speaker 1: I really would love to bring a psychologist on and
[24:59] Speaker 1: unpack it.
[25:01] Speaker 3: Your next pod.
[25:02] Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly.
[25:03] Speaker 1: And I do have some theories. I think like they
[25:05] Speaker 1: had one girlfriend in high school and they're like maybe
[25:07] Speaker 1: one college girlfriend where they got really good in bed.
[25:09] Speaker 1: And then Like, we were all crazy at 22 probably.
[25:14] Speaker 1: So they're like, oh, my God, you're so calm and
[25:17] Speaker 1: normal and confident. And then they're like, I'm going to
[25:21] Speaker 1: marry you. And you're like, no, like, that's so horrible.
[25:24] Speaker 1: That's not happening. And then I think it's just because, again,
[25:27] Speaker 1: and I'm not judging anyone, but like at that age
[25:31] Speaker 1: of their last girlfriend, we were all probably like a
[25:33] Speaker 1: lot more insecure and a lot more, you know, it
[25:36] Speaker 1: was just a different time. And so it's very calming
[25:38] Speaker 1: and comforting. when someone doesn't make drama out of nothing.
[25:43] Speaker 5: I don't know.
[25:43] Speaker 1: That's my tip of the iceberg.
[25:45] Speaker 3: Well, that's what my algorithm tells me too. Does your
[25:49] Speaker 3: algorithm talk to you about like knowing.
[25:51] Speaker 5: That you're dating?
[25:51] Speaker 1: I am the algorithm, Teddy.
[25:53] Speaker 2: Like my algorithm will be like, oh, so young guys
[25:57] Speaker 2: and blah, blah, blah. It's said that the best relationships
[26:02] Speaker 2: are with a guy is younger and they're dating an
[26:05] Speaker 2: older woman because an older woman feels safe to them.
[26:08] Speaker 1: I agree. And I also think there's something to be
[26:11] Speaker 1: discovered and explored with like the porn timeframe. I think
[26:14] Speaker 1: like 31 to 37, we're probably overexposed to porn. So
[26:19] Speaker 1: they're not really great in bed. Cause it's not a connection.
[26:22] Speaker 1: It's more of like a performance. Oh, 31 to 37
[26:27] Speaker 1: is not my jam.
[26:28] Speaker 3: So I met with 31.
[26:30] Speaker 1: Well, he may have just missed them. 31.
[26:32] Speaker 5: My guy is 31.
[26:33] Speaker 1: Yeah. JP.
[26:33] Speaker 5: Valley.
[26:38] Speaker 3: I've been dating the Valley. I mean, how long has
[26:42] Speaker 3: it been? Like three, four months? Four months?
[26:46] Speaker 1: Listen, I hope he was on the other side of
[26:47] Speaker 1: the porn problem because people who watch too much porn
[26:51] Speaker 1: are not good in bed. Like, they're lacking connection. And
[26:54] Speaker 1: I do think that certain time frame... was deep in it.
[26:59] Speaker 4: Teddy, you and Elizabeth are around the same age, right?
[27:01] Speaker 3: I mean, I'm probably older, but yes.
[27:04] Speaker 1: I think we're both 27.
[27:04] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[27:05] Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
[27:06] Speaker 1: Any other questions, Tamara?
[27:08] Speaker 4: I just Googled it. I didn't want to say it
[27:09] Speaker 4: out loud because some people don't like their age. So
[27:11] Speaker 4: you guys are basically like a year apart.
[27:12] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[27:13] Speaker 5: So I don't know.
[27:15] Speaker 4: I feel like, so my husband is five years, five
[27:18] Speaker 4: and a half years younger than me. And I'm okay
[27:21] Speaker 4: when we're in like the same decade. But when like,
[27:26] Speaker 4: I will be 60 one day and he's going to
[27:30] Speaker 4: be 55. I don't know. I don't, it's a little
[27:34] Speaker 4: bit of an insecurity when he was in his thirties,
[27:36] Speaker 4: I was in my forties. Like there's always this, as
[27:38] Speaker 4: long as we were both in our thirties, both in
[27:40] Speaker 4: our forties, I'm good with it.
[27:42] Speaker 1: I think that's fair. I mean, my ex was five
[27:44] Speaker 1: or four years younger and I was worried about that,
[27:46] Speaker 1: but also look around, like all the dads when they
[27:50] Speaker 1: turn 40, aren't hot and we're just getting hotter. I think,
[27:53] Speaker 1: I think everything has shifted. Like really?
[27:55] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[27:55] Speaker 1: We've never been hotter. And if you think about Diane Keaton,
[27:59] Speaker 1: I think she, and someone fact checked me, but I
[28:02] Speaker 1: think she played like father and father of the bride.
[28:04] Speaker 1: And she was the mom at like 42. Right. So
[28:08] Speaker 1: Anne Hathaway had just, is having a baby. Natalie Portman,
[28:11] Speaker 1: all of our Queens look like amazing, killing their careers
[28:17] Speaker 1: and getting everything they want. So actually I'm throwing a
[28:19] Speaker 1: flag on all that bullshit. And you need to get
[28:21] Speaker 1: out of your head about that because like, we've never
[28:23] Speaker 1: been hotter and happier and healthier and, And, like, they
[28:26] Speaker 1: still get dad bods.
[28:28] Speaker 3: And also, sometimes, I don't know, maybe the spy is
[28:31] Speaker 3: not this way, Marissa, but, like, what I realized on
[28:34] Speaker 3: my online dating excursions prior was the older gentlemen that
[28:40] Speaker 3: had money and, like, all that stuff were very, like,
[28:44] Speaker 3: kind of, like, set in their ways already. Yeah. And
[28:47] Speaker 3: I was like, you know what? That's not for me.
[28:49] Speaker 3: I don't want, like, I'm already set in my own ways. Like,
[28:52] Speaker 3: I want someone that's going to help me explore, learn
[28:54] Speaker 3: something new, go do something I probably wouldn't have said
[28:57] Speaker 3: yes to before. Like, I don't want someone that's like, well, I,
[29:01] Speaker 3: you know what? I eat dinner at six o'clock every
[29:03] Speaker 3: night and that's how it is.
[29:05] Speaker 4: That's how I like it.
[29:06] Speaker 5: We don't want to be a purse.
[29:07] Speaker 4: I like to, I like a schedule.
[29:09] Speaker 3: I like being married.
[29:13] Speaker 5: I'm not, um, the spy is older than me. He's
[29:16] Speaker 5: not set in his ways. He's super happy to adventure
[29:20] Speaker 5: and try new things. It's interesting.
[29:22] Speaker 6: I actually want the routine now. I'm the one who's
[29:26] Speaker 6: really shifted. I want to go to bed earlier.
[29:30] Speaker 5: And have quiet routine.
[29:32] Speaker 6: And maybe it's because you know, trauma of divorce and
[29:37] Speaker 6: getting through, you know, making the hard decisions to complete
[29:42] Speaker 6: a marriage. Now I just want peace and chill and equality.
[29:47] Speaker 6: Like shoot me dead before I ever go to Burning
[29:49] Speaker 6: Man again.
[29:50] Speaker 5: Do you know what I mean?
[29:51] Speaker 3: The fact that you just said again after I just
[29:53] Speaker 3: watched all this Bethany Frankel content. I can't believe.
[29:57] Speaker 4: I've had so many comments about Burning Man lately. Like
[29:59] Speaker 4: I would never go.
[30:01] Speaker 3: But Marissa, I think.
[30:02] Speaker 1: You say that because it's long distance. Like you'll still
[30:04] Speaker 1: come dance on a table with me. Totally.
[30:06] Speaker 5: I'm in like the ideal.
[30:07] Speaker 3: Well, that's okay. But Burning Man, no.
[30:10] Speaker 5: The dust and the dirt.
[30:11] Speaker 1: I mean, even Diplo said he walked 15 miles to
[30:13] Speaker 1: get out of Burning Man.
[30:24] Speaker 4: I think it was worse this year than it was
[30:26] Speaker 4: last year, right?
[30:27] Speaker 1: Just from the pictures.
[30:28] Speaker 4: I'm like, oh my, no, thank you.
[30:29] Speaker 3: So if you guys want to go deep down a
[30:31] Speaker 3: rabbit hole, go down the Bethany Frankel at Burning Man
[30:34] Speaker 3: rabbit hole.
[30:35] Speaker 5: It's also not appealing.
[30:37] Speaker 6: Like, I don't want to be, sorry, but I don't
[30:39] Speaker 6: want to be watching 25-year-old gorgeous bodies, even though, yes,
[30:43] Speaker 6: we identify I'm also 25.
[30:45] Speaker 5: But like, I'm not. I've had three children. Yeah.
[30:47] Speaker 1: Dr.
[30:47] Speaker 5: Teitelbaum's help.
[30:49] Speaker 6: I don't want to be dancing next to like 25-year-old
[30:52] Speaker 6: naked women.
[30:52] Speaker 1: I don't. I think you would, like, in Saint-Tropez.
[30:56] Speaker 5: Well, everything's different there.
[30:57] Speaker 1: Yes.
[30:58] Speaker 3: I think there's a difference between Saint-Tropez and then, like,
[31:01] Speaker 3: being all dressed up out of your mind.
[31:05] Speaker 1: Totally.
[31:06] Speaker 3: Like, wearing sparkly silver seven-inch, like, platforms.
[31:11] Speaker 1: No. Like, we can check that off the list.
[31:14] Speaker 4: And there's, like, a wide age range that goes to
[31:16] Speaker 4: Burning Man.
[31:17] Speaker 3: It's crazy.
[31:18] Speaker 1: I know. We should do, like, a psychological evaluation of, like,
[31:21] Speaker 1: the profile. Because it is enticing at one point in
[31:25] Speaker 1: your life. But I do think that your long distance
[31:28] Speaker 1: relationship helps longevity.
[31:30] Speaker 5: Totally.
[31:31] Speaker 6: It's like incredibly passionate when we see each other. And
[31:34] Speaker 6: you get to be super present. I love it because
[31:36] Speaker 6: I'm able to like really switch off for a few days.
[31:38] Speaker 6: Sorry for all the text messages. I didn't respond to Elizabeth.
[31:41] Speaker 6: but like, I do all that.
[31:43] Speaker 1: And then I get like her daily screen time is
[31:47] Speaker 1: maybe an hour. I'm like, hello. I am never not
[31:51] Speaker 1: on my phone. And I'm like, she's, she's happiest disconnected,
[31:56] Speaker 1: which is a free bird.
[31:58] Speaker 5: It's really nice.
[31:59] Speaker 6: But then I come back to my real life. Like
[32:01] Speaker 6: this morning, I'm back online. I was out of school
[32:03] Speaker 6: orientation for a few hours down here. It's like, I
[32:06] Speaker 6: actually was at– wait, Elizabeth, I don't think we've spoken
[32:09] Speaker 6: about that.
[32:09] Speaker 5: But now that we're talking about Burning Man, you guys,
[32:11] Speaker 5: this is a new stage in my life.
[32:13] Speaker 1: Oh, no. A Vespa?
[32:14] Speaker 3: Hold on.
[32:15] Speaker 1: What?
[32:15] Speaker 4: Is that a disco ball helmet? Okay, so this is–
[32:19] Speaker 4: What are you writing when you have that on your head?
[32:21] Speaker 5: By the way, I actually just had this on my
[32:23] Speaker 5: desk right now. This is not as a prop for
[32:25] Speaker 5: a podcast to, like, have a conversation about.
[32:28] Speaker 3: I was thinking– oh, some of the– I was going
[32:30] Speaker 3: to say, is that a chip? Did you fall?
[32:32] Speaker 5: Yeah. Well, must have. I must have.
[32:37] Speaker 1: Where are you wearing this?
[32:39] Speaker 5: I think you guys, I'm getting rid of it.
[32:41] Speaker 6: I was actually thinking like, I have so many like
[32:43] Speaker 6: sparkly sequin outfits, like feather thing.
[32:46] Speaker 5: I've got a whole closet of like a, a costume,
[32:50] Speaker 5: you know, warehouse. I think I'm ready.
[32:52] Speaker 6: I was going to say, Elizabeth, like your offer up guy,
[32:54] Speaker 6: like you sold some, like you met bow tie through
[32:57] Speaker 6: offer up. I'm going to sell all of my Burning
[33:00] Speaker 6: Man things. Cause this stage of my life is over.
[33:03] Speaker 3: I mean, when was the last time that you went
[33:05] Speaker 3: to Burning Man?
[33:06] Speaker 5: 2019. I don't think it's going to happen, so I
[33:09] Speaker 5: can get rid of this helmet.
[33:11] Speaker 1: Listen, you're shocking up with a spy at his AD house,
[33:14] Speaker 1: and he's 112. Like, obviously. Not 112.
[33:17] Speaker 3: How old is he actually, Marissa?
[33:18] Speaker 4: Now you just need to get a Vespa.
[33:21] Speaker 6: I know.
[33:21] Speaker 4: He's 62.
[33:33] Speaker 5: No, you got, he's, he's civilized. It's wonderful.
[33:36] Speaker 6: It's like very nice and comforting and sweet.
[33:41] Speaker 3: Does he have gray bald? Does he have gray bald hair?
[33:45] Speaker 3: Oh my God, Teddy.
[33:47] Speaker 5: No.
[33:51] Speaker 3: No, thank you.
[33:52] Speaker 1: Okay.
[33:52] Speaker 4: Elizabeth and Teddy are so much alike.
[33:55] Speaker 3: And then me and Marissa are like, God, no.
[33:57] Speaker 4: What are you talking about? My face gets that close
[34:01] Speaker 4: to his balls.
[34:03] Speaker 1: Yes. We had our episode this week of the dash
[34:09] Speaker 1: is only 36 minutes. I'm telling them this like top level.
[34:15] Speaker 4: What are you talking about?
[34:15] Speaker 1: A part where Marissa took a special class about skills.
[34:21] Speaker 5: Okay. I can, let me say what I'm going to say.
[34:24] Speaker 4: Blow job skills.
[34:26] Speaker 5: So. I'm going to cut some stuff because.
[34:29] Speaker 4: I'll take that as a yes.
[34:31] Speaker 5: Some of the things... We have lines. We learn where
[34:35] Speaker 5: the line is.
[34:36] Speaker 6: And this is episode three that dropped this morning. And
[34:39] Speaker 6: I hadn't quite figured out where the line was. And
[34:41] Speaker 6: I'm just talking, which we do. We end up having
[34:43] Speaker 6: just a normal conversation. And I'm like, I got to
[34:45] Speaker 6: re-edit some of these things because if the option.
[34:47] Speaker 5: You know, this podcast is not for kids. This is explicit.
[34:51] Speaker 5: do not watch it. If you, you know, don't listen
[34:53] Speaker 5: to it on the.
[34:54] Speaker 6: Way when you're dropping your kids off to school, listen
[34:57] Speaker 6: to it on the way home afterwards. And if you
[34:59] Speaker 6: want to like have a giggle, yes. But I went
[35:02] Speaker 6: into too much detail. I'm like, this is not appropriate,
[35:05] Speaker 6: but post separation, I, you know, I hadn't been.
[35:10] Speaker 5: Out in the wild in a long time, like a
[35:13] Speaker 5: hundred years.
[35:15] Speaker 6: And the idea of like kissing another man or like, I,
[35:20] Speaker 6: I need, I was like, you know, whatever.
[35:22] Speaker 5: I'm an academic. So I went to intimacy school and wait, wait,
[35:27] Speaker 5: there's a school.
[35:28] Speaker 1: There's a master.
[35:32] Speaker 3: Maybe I need to do that.
[35:33] Speaker 4: Can you pass on that information?
[35:35] Speaker 5: I'll text you her name. Her name is BB.
[35:37] Speaker 6: She's an intimacy expert and she, I was actually, I
[35:43] Speaker 6: couldn't get my head around the idea that I was
[35:46] Speaker 6: actually going to be intimate with someone else again or anyone.
[35:49] Speaker 6: And whilst it wasn't something that I was like gagging
[35:53] Speaker 6: to do, I shouldn't use that term.
[35:55] Speaker 1: Gagging?
[35:55] Speaker 4: Gagging.
[35:56] Speaker 3: Good choice of words. Seems like you were.
[36:00] Speaker 4: Maybe you're hoping to gag.
[36:01] Speaker 3: Nobody wants a micro penis. I mean, you're going to
[36:03] Speaker 3: a blowjob class.
[36:07] Speaker 1: You just gagged yourself into that one.
[36:11] Speaker 5: I wanted to know all of the information. So I
[36:13] Speaker 5: went to intimacy school.
[36:15] Speaker 3: Did you learn a lot? Do you think you got
[36:16] Speaker 3: any good? Is there anything you need to pass on
[36:18] Speaker 3: to us?
[36:19] Speaker 1: That was the reason we cut 30 minutes out.
[36:23] Speaker 5: I was valedictorian. Oh, really?
[36:25] Speaker 3: Oh, valedictorian. Were you the only one in the class?
[36:33] Speaker 3: Oh my God.
[36:34] Speaker 4: I need to tune into that podcast.
[36:37] Speaker 1: We'll send you the link. Yeah.
[36:40] Speaker 4: Have either one of you been approached to join housewives?
[36:46] Speaker 6: When I first moved to LA 100,000 years ago, I
[36:51] Speaker 6: had a couple of meetings with.
[36:52] Speaker 5: Them, but no.
[36:54] Speaker 3: Would you do it?
[36:57] Speaker 6: I said this to Juliet the other day, or maybe
[36:59] Speaker 6: I did this, um, or to Tracy, um, Never say never,
[37:03] Speaker 6: because if we've learned anything in this life, we absolutely
[37:06] Speaker 6: don't know. I don't know what's going to happen tomorrow
[37:08] Speaker 6: or where the turns of life will take me.
[37:12] Speaker 5: That said, I'm just.
[37:14] Speaker 6: Coming out of about a year and a half or
[37:17] Speaker 6: two years of total cocooning and not by for want,
[37:24] Speaker 6: but like my body, I was diagnosed with PTSD about
[37:27] Speaker 6: a year ago. I like just completely shut down. And
[37:31] Speaker 6: I wasn't depressed. I was just couldn't I couldn't take
[37:35] Speaker 6: on that much. All I could take on was being
[37:37] Speaker 6: a mother to my children, which was the priority and
[37:41] Speaker 6: is the priority. And so socially, I was not going out.
[37:46] Speaker 6: I was you know, my activity was maybe walking down
[37:49] Speaker 6: the street. So the idea of having a conversation or
[37:53] Speaker 6: even entertaining doing the housewives, which we've just said is
[37:57] Speaker 6: like you have to put on.
[37:57] Speaker 5: Your armor every day for that. I'm like, I feel
[38:00] Speaker 5: like I was putting on my armor every day just
[38:02] Speaker 5: to like do the school.
[38:03] Speaker 2: Survive.
[38:04] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[38:04] Speaker 6: I was in survival mode and I'm coming out of
[38:07] Speaker 6: it now, which is, by the way, feels awesome and
[38:09] Speaker 6: actually really exciting.
[38:11] Speaker 5: But I wouldn't I wouldn't.
[38:14] Speaker 6: I couldn't take that on right now, but maybe at
[38:16] Speaker 6: some point, like, are we crazy enough?
[38:17] Speaker 5: Yes, we are. We're, we're all, yes, probably, you know,
[38:20] Speaker 5: I don't know.
[38:21] Speaker 3: What is, has Tracy, you're talking about Tracy Tudor, correct?
[38:24] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[38:26] Speaker 3: Has she shared anything with you about Beverly Hills this year?
[38:29] Speaker 5: She hasn't.
[38:29] Speaker 6: I mean, she was over for dinner. They only just
[38:32] Speaker 6: started filming a couple of weeks ago.
[38:35] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[38:37] Speaker 6: So I think she had her first group event, maybe
[38:40] Speaker 6: at Rachel Zoe's party. And she said it was fun,
[38:43] Speaker 6: but there were already some like, you know, drama.
[38:46] Speaker 4: There was already such a pro at reality TV. She's
[38:49] Speaker 4: going to fit in so well. I'm so excited for her.
[38:54] Speaker 3: I love her.
[38:55] Speaker 1: She's the best.
[38:56] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[38:57] Speaker 6: It's going to just make it so watchable. And she's, yeah,
[38:59] Speaker 6: it's like a duck to water.
[39:01] Speaker 4: I mean, after coming off some pretty kind of boring seasons,
[39:04] Speaker 4: I think that Tracy's exactly what they need.
[39:13] Speaker 3: Elizabeth, can you tell us a little bit more about
[39:15] Speaker 3: your crime show? Because I was obsessed with it.
[39:18] Speaker 5: Thank you.
[39:18] Speaker 3: And is it coming back?
[39:20] Speaker 1: Yes, it is back on September 15th. We are, I think,
[39:24] Speaker 1: eight days away from it, nine days away from it.
[39:27] Speaker 1: We have season two coming out, which is incredible. And listen,
[39:31] Speaker 1: this is my dream show, my life's work, right? I mean,
[39:37] Speaker 1: at the end of the day, all we want to
[39:39] Speaker 1: do is be in healthy and happy relationships. And we
[39:42] Speaker 1: were never told the red signs, the red flags to
[39:45] Speaker 1: look out for, right? Like we were actually quite messaged
[39:48] Speaker 1: the opposite of like a Disney princess, wait for someone
[39:51] Speaker 1: to rescue you or, you know, 17 magazine, learn to
[39:54] Speaker 1: give the best blow job. So he puts a ring
[39:55] Speaker 1: on it. Like, why were we told that that was
[39:57] Speaker 1: the goal? And so I just, our episodes this season
[40:02] Speaker 1: are leveled up in every way. I mean, we really
[40:05] Speaker 1: address some interesting things as whether you're divorced or married, like,
[40:09] Speaker 1: you know, there's something called parental alienation. where you manipulate children.
[40:14] Speaker 5: Exactly.
[40:15] Speaker 3: I've gone through that. Yeah.
[40:16] Speaker 1: And then, I mean, there's just so many themes this
[40:19] Speaker 1: season where just when I had thought I'd seen it
[40:22] Speaker 1: all in season one, season two is completely elevated and
[40:27] Speaker 1: escalated in every way. And I cannot wait for you
[40:29] Speaker 1: to watch it because it's just like so relatable, right?
[40:34] Speaker 4: Where can we watch it?
[40:35] Speaker 1: You can watch it on Hulu and HBO Max. It's
[40:37] Speaker 1: on Investigation Discovery every Monday night. And then it will
[40:41] Speaker 1: stream on HBO Max and Hulu.
[40:43] Speaker 3: I think the coolest part is like you're like boots
[40:45] Speaker 3: on the ground. You're not like a lot of these
[40:48] Speaker 3: shows now we're seeing where like somebody is like off
[40:51] Speaker 3: and in a different location and they're just essentially podcasting
[40:55] Speaker 3: what is happening. No, you're like there. You're like staked
[40:59] Speaker 3: out in the car.
[41:00] Speaker 4: Oh, really?
[41:01] Speaker 1: Yeah, we're not like I'm not just coming in to
[41:03] Speaker 1: sit in the chair for an interview. I mean, we
[41:05] Speaker 1: are solving mysteries. And I think what's really interesting, as
[41:08] Speaker 1: opposed to some– cold cases that are true crime, is that, like,
[41:13] Speaker 1: our audience can follow along to see, is she going
[41:15] Speaker 1: to go back to him? Is she going to choose
[41:17] Speaker 1: someone just like him, this man that almost murdered her?
[41:20] Speaker 1: You know, and it is, we have, we found, I
[41:24] Speaker 1: don't know if you saw Bad Vegan on Netflix. Oh, yeah. But, like, really,
[41:29] Speaker 1: Sarma was implicated. She wouldn't have thrown away her entire
[41:33] Speaker 1: restaurant and her entire career. She was really implicated and
[41:37] Speaker 1: served time at Riker's. for, you know, his bad wrongdoings.
[41:42] Speaker 1: And he had been on the run and owed the
[41:44] Speaker 1: IRS $ 20 million. And we tracked him down and found him.
[41:47] Speaker 1: And I confronted him.
[41:49] Speaker 3: Oh my God.
[41:50] Speaker 4: So I can watch season one on Hulu?
[41:52] Speaker 1: Yes, please catch up. I mean, it's called Toxic. And
[41:58] Speaker 1: it's like my absolute baby and passion, other than my
[42:02] Speaker 1: kids and my bakery, like the reason I live and breathe.
[42:05] Speaker 1: It's such, it's just like, it's applicable to everyone.
[42:10] Speaker 3: Do you guys watch any reality television?
[42:13] Speaker 5: I watched my.
[42:14] Speaker 1: First reality television show this year. I got into Love
[42:17] Speaker 1: Island because my friend was on it.
[42:19] Speaker 3: Who was your friend?
[42:20] Speaker 1: My friend Bryce. I've known him forever.
[42:23] Speaker 4: Hold on.
[42:23] Speaker 3: Bryce is right up our alley.
[42:25] Speaker 6: It looks like Teddy's just seen like the second coming
[42:28] Speaker 6: of Jesus.
[42:31] Speaker 4: I am not watching love Island.
[42:36] Speaker 3: No, I love Bryce.
[42:38] Speaker 1: I am like Barry. I'm not, I don't ever have
[42:41] Speaker 1: any time during, I'm like watching true crime and tracking
[42:45] Speaker 1: down people, bad people. Like that's how I spend my
[42:48] Speaker 1: free time. But I will say something, and again, I've
[42:51] Speaker 1: never watched reality TV until this. I only watched eight
[42:55] Speaker 1: episodes because, Teddy, I thought I was going to be
[42:57] Speaker 1: finished at eight. I was like, whew, that was a lot.
[43:01] Speaker 3: Oh, no, it's every night.
[43:02] Speaker 1: 9,000 more. I'm like, I am not committed.
[43:05] Speaker 3: That's why I can't do it.
[43:06] Speaker 1: Same.
[43:06] Speaker 3: It's every night. But the fact that I didn't know
[43:09] Speaker 3: that the reunion was about to be on, I was enraged. Like, my—
[43:13] Speaker 3: 13 year old daughter's like mom you don't even seem
[43:16] Speaker 3: ready to be watching the reunion I'm like what.
[43:17] Speaker 1: Do you mean the reunion she's like it's on tonight
[43:20] Speaker 1: and I was like she's like what does your ready
[43:22] Speaker 1: entail like Teddy doesn't warm.
[43:24] Speaker 5: Up before any reunion sorry because I don't watch Love
[43:28] Speaker 5: Island because I'm an adult.
[43:30] Speaker 4: Same Marissa same.
[43:34] Speaker 5: It's on every night for an hour?
[43:36] Speaker 3: It's on every night. And then there's one thing that's
[43:39] Speaker 3: called like after the sun. So one night a week
[43:42] Speaker 3: you get after the sun, which I never watch. It's
[43:44] Speaker 3: like once you've gotten booted out, then you go back
[43:47] Speaker 3: and you do an interview. But I'm like, I don't care.
[43:49] Speaker 1: They're gone.
[43:49] Speaker 3: They're out of the relationship. Is it one hour every night?
[43:52] Speaker 1: Yes.
[43:53] Speaker 3: Yeah, but like if you go back, I didn't watch.
[43:55] Speaker 1: It in real time. So if you're like binging it,
[43:58] Speaker 1: you're up until 4 a.m. like a crackhead. And your
[44:01] Speaker 1: kids need to be woken up at six. And you're like,
[44:03] Speaker 1: this is unreasonable.
[44:04] Speaker 4: I do know some of these people come out of
[44:09] Speaker 4: it like being big stars. I was on Traitors with.
[44:18] Speaker 3: Ekansu.
[44:20] Speaker 4: I think she was on Love Island, like the very beginning,
[44:22] Speaker 4: the very first one. And she had like 4 million followers.
[44:25] Speaker 4: First time she's ever on TV. Like what the actual fuck?
[44:29] Speaker 1: It's crazy. I mean, people are very invested. It's interesting
[44:31] Speaker 1: to watch the dynamic. I get, I like watching it
[44:33] Speaker 1: for like, whatever. I pretend like I'm doing research or
[44:36] Speaker 1: some shit. I like watching it for some toxicity, but
[44:39] Speaker 1: it is interesting to see like people bring their own,
[44:43] Speaker 1: you know, their own trauma and their own stuff to relationships.
[44:46] Speaker 1: And like, that's ultimately, I guess what we're all doing
[44:48] Speaker 1: is like, and why toxic is, like so successful is
[44:52] Speaker 1: because you know generational patterns exist for a reason and
[44:57] Speaker 1: our behavior is what it is because like that's what
[44:59] Speaker 1: we know and all that stuff is so interesting to
[45:01] Speaker 1: unpack and that's how i'm justifying watching love island.
[45:04] Speaker 4: Oh my god i think that you would elizabeth i
[45:06] Speaker 4: think you'd be great on traders i.
[45:08] Speaker 1: Would love i mean i i need to watch it
[45:10] Speaker 1: first but i it sounds strategic.
[45:12] Speaker 4: Murder mystery it's a murder mystery.
[45:14] Speaker 3: You would be great on it. You would love it.
[45:16] Speaker 3: So is there any shows, because I know we're wrapping
[45:18] Speaker 3: up on the hour, but is there any shows if
[45:20] Speaker 3: you guys could go on? It's not like you'd have
[45:24] Speaker 3: to be pressured, but you're like, oh, I actually would
[45:27] Speaker 3: want to do that. Do you have one, Marissa, too?
[45:30] Speaker 1: Yeah, pretty. Jeopardy.
[45:35] Speaker 5: I love it.
[45:36] Speaker 3: I love it.
[45:37] Speaker 1: The Wheel of Fortune would be an easy bag. I
[45:40] Speaker 1: was going to say the third unheeded rivalry, but no.
[45:45] Speaker 3: Let's make a deal.
[45:46] Speaker 1: Exactly.
[45:47] Speaker 5: Granny. Elizabeth calls me granny on this show. That's a
[45:50] Speaker 5: real granny. Yeah, Jeopardy.
[45:51] Speaker 1: That's so granny.
[45:53] Speaker 3: That is so granny.
[45:54] Speaker 1: No, just like toxic season three, four, five, six. I
[45:57] Speaker 1: want to be, we need like, we need to be
[45:59] Speaker 1: like the dateline. I want toxic for 900 seasons, but no,
[46:03] Speaker 1: I mean like, I think you've opened my eyes to
[46:06] Speaker 1: this whole, like the housewife stuff is really interesting too.
[46:09] Speaker 1: And you know, Rachel's a friend of ours too. So
[46:11] Speaker 1: it's like fun to see her and Kathy, like they're,
[46:14] Speaker 1: I don't know, like I've never watched it before, but
[46:16] Speaker 1: now I do find myself when you want to see
[46:18] Speaker 1: your friends succeed.
[46:20] Speaker 3: Right.
[46:20] Speaker 1: And you want to see, yeah for sure what everyone's
[46:23] Speaker 1: talking about like we have to be well and it's
[46:27] Speaker 1: like a bit like survivor too I mean let's be
[46:29] Speaker 1: honest navigating a teddy as you I mean as you
[46:32] Speaker 1: both know Tamara and Teddy like navigating some of these
[46:35] Speaker 1: dinner parties when the produce when you're like gonna get
[46:39] Speaker 1: attacked at it is is a real testament to like
[46:43] Speaker 1: how you can navigate.
[46:45] Speaker 3: And the fact is, we already know, like going into
[46:48] Speaker 3: the season without being told anything specific or special or
[46:52] Speaker 3: anything like we know if we're actually avid watchers of
[46:56] Speaker 3: the show that Tracy Tudor is going to walk in
[46:59] Speaker 3: there and have drama with Dorit. Like we already know
[47:02] Speaker 3: it because they didn't pay the hairstylist. I heard about this.
[47:07] Speaker 5: I can't believe it. I know.
[47:09] Speaker 4: I DM Chris Dillon. I'm like, oh, you're going to
[47:11] Speaker 4: be a topic of conversation.
[47:12] Speaker 5: By the way, like, yeah.
[47:14] Speaker 6: And it's all totally understandable. Like I would also, I
[47:18] Speaker 6: don't know what happened with Dorit and why she didn't
[47:21] Speaker 6: pay him.
[47:23] Speaker 5: But I would do the same thing. I would call up,
[47:26] Speaker 5: be like, pay this man. Like what is going on?
[47:28] Speaker 5: So I don't know the other side of the story.
[47:31] Speaker 5: Tracy's a good friend.
[47:32] Speaker 1: I don't know.
[47:32] Speaker 5: Doreen, we've met in passing.
[47:33] Speaker 1: Have you watched Housewives of Beverly Hills, Marissa? No.
[47:36] Speaker 6: I've watched a couple of episodes here and there, but I, look,
[47:39] Speaker 6: the truth is that that is my television over on
[47:41] Speaker 6: the wall.
[47:42] Speaker 1: You can see in the background.
[47:43] Speaker 5: I don't know how to turn it on. I don't know.
[47:47] Speaker 5: I've watched your show, Elizabeth, on the plane, on my
[47:50] Speaker 5: iPad and on my laptop. Cause I can figure that
[47:52] Speaker 5: one out. This TV, there's a remote. There's like all
[47:54] Speaker 5: different buttons. There's like more buttons. Not a remote.
[47:57] Speaker 4: Not a, holy shit.
[47:59] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[48:01] Speaker 6: That's for my kids. Like my kids will help me
[48:03] Speaker 6: do that. Like I watch, what do I watch? Watch
[48:06] Speaker 6: that show with Eleven in it.
[48:09] Speaker 5: Stranger Things. I watch Stranger Things.
[48:12] Speaker 1: Well, this is not our demographic. So we're going to
[48:14] Speaker 1: move on from that.
[48:16] Speaker 3: Oh my God.
[48:18] Speaker 4: Well, thank you guys so much. And congratulations on your podcast.

[48:29] Speaker 1: you for just being so much fun. And for all
[48:32] Speaker 1: that you guys do together, we are big fans.
[48:35] Speaker 5: Oh, thank you.
[48:35] Speaker 3: Where do people find you guys on social media?

[48:43] Speaker 1: Yeah, go follow The Dash Pod, guys.
[48:45] Speaker 6: Follow The Dash Pod. And a new episode, yeah, dropped
[48:49] Speaker 6: this morning. So check it out.
[48:50] Speaker 3: Do you drop one a week?
[48:51] Speaker 1: We do. You can learn all about Marissa's nipple hair online.
[48:55] Speaker 1: and bow tie if you tune in today oh my
[48:58] Speaker 1: god what was i thinking because i fell out of
[49:01] Speaker 1: my chair hey.
[49:03] Speaker 3: It's a thing okay i mean i've had a goat
[49:06] Speaker 3: hair before you know like before what do you mean
[49:08] Speaker 3: before you get them every every time you pluck it
[49:11] Speaker 3: it grows right back today and sometimes i'll feel it
[49:15] Speaker 3: right away and then sometimes i won't feel it until
[49:18] Speaker 3: it's like long and i'm like how am people have
[49:20] Speaker 3: seen this and no one has seen it?
[49:22] Speaker 5: What is happening?
[49:23] Speaker 1: We're all going to go to Laser Away. And I'm
[49:25] Speaker 1: sure there's a Laser Away in Orange County.
[49:28] Speaker 3: There's one in every corner.
[49:29] Speaker 1: I actually have an at-home device. Just come over. We'll
[49:31] Speaker 1: have a Laser Away party.
[49:33] Speaker 3: But the fact that you had them on your nipples
[49:36] Speaker 3: and you didn't notice worries me about the washing. There's two.
[49:40] Speaker 6: I had, we were dining, we ate outside and I like,
[49:45] Speaker 6: for some reason, I just had a sweatshirt on and
[49:46] Speaker 6: not a bra and we were tidying up inside.
[49:49] Speaker 5: And then the spy went to the bathroom and I
[49:50] Speaker 5: was like, come on, my nipple, like my- No.
[49:53] Speaker 1: They're going to listen to it.
[49:54] Speaker 5: They're going to see. Well, yeah.
[49:56] Speaker 6: So I lift up my shirt as the spy is
[49:58] Speaker 6: coming out of the bathroom and I'm like, oh my God,
[50:01] Speaker 6: there's two mosquito bites on each side under my nipple.
[50:05] Speaker 5: And then as I looked closer- in each mosquito bite,
[50:10] Speaker 5: sort of.
[50:10] Speaker 6: Like, you know, when someone lands on the moon and
[50:14] Speaker 6: sticks the flag in the.
[50:15] Speaker 3: Moon, there was.
[50:17] Speaker 6: A nipple hair in the flag saying mosquito bite.
[50:21] Speaker 5: And I was like, I mean, it was horrible. Anyway.
[50:25] Speaker 3: I mean, imagine how many times he kissed your boobs
[50:27] Speaker 3: and you've seen that.
[50:28] Speaker 5: Oh, God.
[50:29] Speaker 4: Let's just call it relatable. Okay.
[50:31] Speaker 3: Because us girls, shit happens. Oh, my gosh.
[50:35] Speaker 1: Exactly. All right.
[50:35] Speaker 3: Well, we love you guys. Thank you so much.
[50:37] Speaker 5: Thank you.
[50:38] Speaker 1: Bye.
[50:38] Speaker 4: Hopefully we'll see you in LA and we'll all go out.
[50:41] Speaker 1: Let's do that.
[50:42] Speaker 3: We'll do a group one in person.
[50:43] Speaker 5: All righty.
[50:44] Speaker 1: Bye, guys.
[50:44] Speaker 5: Bye.
