[0:00] Whatever word the random word generator comes up with, we will incorporate into the show.
[0:05] The word is... D***.
[0:17] Well, since the start of this year, we have been making a song and a dance about three announcements.
[0:24] You've already heard two.
[0:25] You've heard the first, which was the journal, our novel journal, My Imperfect Life.
[0:30] You've also heard the second announcement, which is our Patreon, a new show called A Little More Imperfects, which you can subscribe to now.
[0:38] And today we announce the third big announcement.
[0:42] It's a really big one.
[0:44] The themes I've brought to the show so far this season being potential ADHD and also ghosts.
[0:51] They combined this morning.
[0:52] I wanted to be able to do this announcement in a special way, but those two things combined, I don't have... You were late because you're talking to a ghost?
[1:04] That excuse again.
[1:10] One of the things I've found for my potential ADHD is this incredible new routine I have in the morning, which involves going into the garage and doing like breath work, a bit of exercise before anyone wakes up.
[1:21] And I was there at 5.30 this morning in the dark.
[1:24] I was going to turn the light and I went, no, I can do breath work in the dark.
[1:27] That's fine.
[1:28] and I had headphones on doing the breath work, and it's quite loud, the music that plays.
[1:32] And then I just had this feeling that someone was in there or watching me, and I just opened my eyes and looked up, and it was Elsie.
[1:40] It wasn't a ghost, just so we know.
[1:46] It's like a joke without a punchline No, but it couldn't have been more She was in a nightie Her hair was in front of her face And she was just staring at me from quite a distance Floating Anyway, it gave me such a horrific fright I just feel like I do really good creative thinking In the morning before everyone's up And I thought when I'm doing breathwork An idea will come to me about how we announce this today And it did not arrive My idea did not arrive Because I was so shocked from the ghost That was actually not a ghost, it was Elsie Yeah
[2:14] So last minute, I'm happy to admit I went to chat GBT and thought, do you have any ways we could do this announcement?
[2:21] And so if you'd, not only did it come up with an idea, but it helped me write a script for how we could do this.
[2:27] Oh.
[2:27] I've sent you the script on your, you've got it now.
[2:30] Okay.
[2:30] So I'll start.
[2:31] So I'll get the first line.
[2:32] Great.
[2:33] Guys, we have some big news to share today.
[2:36] It's something we've thought long and hard about, and we know it might come as a bit of a shock to you.
[2:42] We know this podcast means a lot to so many of you and it's been a huge part of our lives.
[2:47] Yeah.
[2:48] So we just want to say we're sorry because we've realized that one tour just wasn't enough.
[2:58] So yeah, we're doing another national tour.
[3:03] So I was hoping people would think we were going to say, like, the show's finished, we cancelled it.
[3:07] Yes.
[3:08] And then we've shocked you guys.
[3:09] That's a prank, basically.
[3:10] We've played a prank.
[3:11] Yeah, we have played a prank.
[3:12] And God, everyone listening must be pissing themselves.
[3:19] Okay, a little bit of script confusion there.
[3:20] Apologies for that.
[3:21] That's all right.
[3:22] Chat JBT sends its apologies.
[3:24] So let's be very clear.
[3:26] Announcement number three.
[3:28] We are back on tour.
[3:30] We are doing a brand new live show in 2025 and we're touring the country and my golly gosh, are we excited to be doing so?
[3:41] Oh, yeah.
[3:41] Yeah, he doesn't throw around golly goshes for nothing.
[3:43] Yeah, October, November, December 2025, we'll be touring around the country.
[3:47] I'm so excited to do this because when we first did the tour, this was years ago now, did our first live show, when we announced it on the show, we had no idea what the show was going to be really.
[3:58] We kind of announced it blindly and just hoped we'd come up with something.
[4:02] Yeah.
[4:03] And I loved the process of writing that show.
[4:06] I loved so much doing that show.
[4:10] Yeah.
[4:11] I think that time being on stage, performing that with you guys,
[4:17] uh and the guests that we had it's just some of the most fun i've ever had doing anything and i was so focused on doing the show and making sure the show was good but it only occurred to me when we did that first show in geelong that i was like oh yeah we get to see everyone that actually listens to the podcast and that was so nice to know you're real
[4:40] We're all real people.
[4:42] And I think that was like the most, probably the most rewarding thing out of all of it is to sort of see all of you guys come out and see us so we could see you.
[4:53] It was really, really, really cool.
[4:55] Yeah.
[4:55] I was so, I reckon I was genuinely afraid of public speaking before the last tour.
[5:00] And that first show in Geelong to, it was about 400 people in that venue.
[5:04] It's probably the most nervous I've ever been in my entire life before going on to that stage.
[5:08] Yeah.
[5:09] But it was the first time I actually, I kind of had this idea in my mind that I was stuck with, like sort of an old dog can't learn new tricks, so to speak, that I was stuck being a bad public speaker.
[5:21] Yeah.
[5:22] And that's just not something I'm ever going to be able to change.
[5:24] Yet by the end of the tour, I didn't want it to end.
[5:27] Like I wanted to keep doing shows, do more, go out on stage.
[5:30] And I agree, it was the most fun.
[5:33] And I can't wait to come up with a brand new show and do it all again.
[5:36] And there might be a lot of like, I'm sure there's a lot of people who've only started listening to the podcast recently or in the last year or so and didn't get a chance to come and see it.
[5:46] I think the expectation that a lot of people rightly had going to the last show was that it was going to be the podcast just on stage.
[5:53] A lot of podcasts, when they do a live show, it'll be there just another episode, but on stage in front of an audience.
[5:59] This is not that.
[6:00] Yeah, I guess we wanted to, rather than just putting a podcast on stage, we wanted you to feel the same way you feel when you hear the podcast, laugh like you do and learn something as well.
[6:12] There was a game show.
[6:13] There was music.
[6:15] We sung a song.
[6:16] There was just so much...
[6:18] Sorry, there was some choreographed dance.
[6:20] Did you want to say Corrie?
[6:22] Did you want to say Corrie?
[6:24] Like some Corrie.
[6:24] Yeah, there was a bit of Corrie.
[6:26] A bit of Corrie in there.
[6:27] Yeah, yeah.
[6:27] I actually just couldn't, I couldn't really remember how to pronounce choreographed.
[6:33] So I was going to stop at Corrie.
[6:34] Is that what people call it?
[6:36] Yeah, I think because we've now done Corrie, we could just call it Corrie, mate.
[6:39] Cool, yeah.
[6:40] It's a tiny bit of Corrie.
[6:41] Maybe more Corrie this time.
[6:41] Yeah, I could do some more Corrie, yeah.
[6:42] Yeah, yeah.
[6:43] Yeah.
[6:43] You got some Corrie?
[6:45] Yeah, very much so.
[6:46] Have you been listening?
[6:47] No.
[6:47] I've been...
[6:49] I've been...
[6:51] I've been listening.
[6:53] I've been... Or are you just thinking, what's the next thing I can ask you at GPT?
[6:58] No, I was wondering, did the thing I do, the scripted thing, make sense to people or are they still confused?
[7:05] I think it hopefully makes sense now because the prank was, you know, albeit great, maybe just a bit confusing.
[7:11] Yeah, I'm not sure the premise was confusing.
[7:13] I think just the execution by ChatJBT and maybe us, but mainly ChatJBT could have been improved slightly, I think.
[7:21] Yeah, maybe.
[7:22] I don't think the idea was so confusing that it's beyond comprehension.
[7:27] No.
[7:27] Okay.
[7:27] But I think people now hopefully understand that the third announcement is we are doing another live show, another live tour around Australia.
[7:34] And it's a completely brand new show.
[7:36] It's a stage show inspired by the podcast.
[7:38] Yeah.
[7:39] And we're going to do that again, but in a whole new way, baby.
[7:44] Should we shave?
[7:45] Should we shave?
[7:47] Yeah, let's actually not shave from now.
[7:50] Should we say where we're going?
[7:52] Like what cities we're going to be in?
[7:54] Oh, absolutely.
[7:54] Yeah, so.
[7:55] We'll take it in turns.
[7:56] Let's just go around the table.
[7:57] Okay.
[7:57] Brisbane.
[7:58] Melbourne.
[8:00] Adelaide.
[8:01] Sydney.
[8:02] Perth.
[8:03] Canberra.
[8:04] That's it.
[8:05] Geelong.
[8:05] Oh, Geelong.
[8:06] Geelong.
[8:06] Yes.
[8:07] Yeah.
[8:07] That's it.
[8:08] That's it.
[8:09] Newcastle.
[8:10] Thanks, Bridge.
[8:10] Yeah.
[8:12] Gold Coast.
[8:13] That's it.
[8:14] And for the first time ever, Tasmania.
[8:18] And the Tasmanians respond, finally.
[8:21] Because we've never been.
[8:23] Not for the live show, we've never been.
[8:24] We did a podcast episode with Gina Chick, which was so much fun.
[8:29] But we didn't get to go with the live show and now we are.
[8:32] You are listening to three men who love the Apple Isle and desperately wanted to bring our show to the Apple Isle and we're doing it now.
[8:39] Yep.
[8:40] Sounds like someone told you to say Apple Isle.
[8:42] Sounds like this is sponsored by apples.
[8:44] You can kind of show off to Tasmanians that I know it's the Apple Isle.
[8:48] Is that still their main thing they want people to know about, apples?
[8:51] I think they've got lots.
[8:52] Tasmania's got heaps.
[8:53] Heaps of apples.
[8:54] Heaps of other stuff going for it too.
[8:56] They do hurricanes.
[8:57] Hurricanes?
[8:57] Hobart Hurricanes.
[8:59] Oh, the team.
[9:00] This one, the BBL.
[9:01] This one, the Brazilian butt lift final.
[9:04] Wow.
[9:04] That's a thing that needs context.
[9:08] That's assuming everyone's listened to every episode of our show.
[9:12] Yes, no, of course, the hurricanes.
[9:13] I thought you meant actual hurricanes.
[9:14] No, but yeah, the actual team.
[9:17] But I thought as an exercise, why don't we write the very first part of the show right now?
[9:25] He's pulling out chat GPT.
[9:27] No, I'm using something much better than chat GPT.
[9:31] Randomwordgenerator.com.
[9:35] So what I thought we could do is Hugh, give me a letter.
[9:40] Any letter.
[9:41] D. And Josh, give me a number between one and ten.
[9:45] What do you think I'm going to say?
[9:47] Seven.
[9:48] Yes.
[9:48] I thought that.
[9:50] I thought that.
[9:51] Wow.
[9:51] Why did we think the same thing?
[9:53] That's weird.
[9:54] Yeah.
[9:55] Yeah.
[9:56] Okay.
[9:57] Okay.
[9:59] So the reason I ask that is because you can ask what letter it starts with and whatever word the random word generator comes up with, we will incorporate into the show.
[10:07] So if you come, you're like, oh, I'm looking out for that word.
[10:10] Okay.
[10:11] Okay.
[10:11] So first letter, we're going with D.
[10:17] Well, yeah, what's the seven?
[10:17] And the number is because it offers a random word, but you can keep generating words, and I'm going to press the generate seven times.
[10:25] I'm going to go to the seven word.
[10:27] Well, what if it is a word that we would use anyway?
[10:29] It won't be because I've made it extended words.
[10:33] Okay, good.
[10:33] So they're bigger words.
[10:35] Here we go.
[10:35] You ready to find out what the first part of the script is for the live show from The Imperfects in 2025?
[10:43] Tickets available now.
[10:47] Two, three, four, five, six, seven.
[10:57] The word is DOLSUM.
[11:01] Dalsam.
[11:02] I don't know what dalsam means.
[11:04] Oh, no, I was thinking dulcet, like dulcet tones.
[11:07] Yeah, that's a different word.
[11:08] That's not the word.
[11:10] I was thinking doll's house.
[11:11] No, it's a different word.
[11:12] Maybe sometimes.
[11:14] It's only when you sometimes have dulcet tones.
[11:16] Yeah, or sometimes you go on the doll.
[11:18] Yeah.
[11:18] Maybe.
[11:19] Oh, I'm dalsam.
[11:21] Can we get... Should we get a definition from that?
[11:22] Yeah, what's a definition of dalsam?
[11:24] D-O-L-E-S-O-M-E.
[11:26] Dreary or mournful?
[11:27] We can work that in.
[11:28] We can.
[11:29] Dreary or mournful?
[11:30] I'd love us to have one each, actually.
[11:32] Okay.
[11:33] Should we go the next...
[11:34] So do you want that one?
[11:34] Who wants that one?
[11:35] No one does.
[11:37] It's a bit dalsam.
[11:38] It's a bit dalsam.
[11:39] It's a bit dalsam, isn't it?
[11:41] Okay, I'll take dalsam.
[11:42] Okay.
[11:43] And then, Hugh, you'll take the next one.
[11:45] Yep.
[11:45] And then, Josh, you'll take the following.
[11:46] Okay.
[11:47] The next one is
[11:51] Dosses.
[11:55] Dosses?
[11:56] Dosses.
[11:56] What's that?
[11:57] I don't know.
[11:58] Dosses.
[12:00] D-O-S-S-E-R-S. An idle person.
[12:03] An idle person.
[12:04] Someone not doing much.
[12:05] Yeah, they're idle.
[12:06] Yeah.
[12:06] You bunch of dosses to the audience.
[12:08] Yeah.
[12:09] Okay.
[12:10] Hugh, you've got dosses.
[12:11] Dosses, great.
[12:12] Josh, your word for the live show is...
[12:21] Oh, my God.
[12:24] Dicktronics.
[12:33] Dicktronics.
[12:37] How the hell can I do that?
[12:40] What does it mean, Bella?
[12:42] It's a vibrator.
[12:44] Bella?
[12:45] D-I-C-T-R-O-N-I-C-S.
[12:50] If you don't find a definition, that's okay, because we're definitely using it, and Josh, you can just figure out a way to incorporate it.
[12:56] Any luck or no?
[12:59] Well, that's fine.
[13:00] It's a word.
[13:01] It's come up.
[13:01] It's random.
[13:02] We're using it.
[13:03] Okay, so Dalsam, Dosses and Dicktronics.
[13:07] You can expect those three words definitely plus many others if you come.
[13:13] And so if you want to get tickets for this show.
[13:16] I'm nervous about public speaking again.
[13:18] I will actually.
[13:22] I mean, it could be as like just an idea.
[13:24] It could be like, and Josh from Dicktronics is here to talk about new electronic dicks.
[13:32] No.
[13:32] It could be a great song.
[13:34] We could sing Dicktronics.
[13:36] Yeah, but it could just be a word in a song.
[13:37] Yeah.
[13:37] Yeah.
[13:39] Anyway, this is all for us to work out, but you can definitely expect that word.
[13:42] Right.
[13:44] Now, you might be thinking, I know tickets are available for this show because I'm a member on Patreon.
[13:50] Yeah.
[13:50] Because everyone who subscribes to our Patreon and is a very, very generous member of that and listens or watches our show A Little More Imperfects, which is our extra Patreon show, fortnightly show.
[14:02] On patreon.com forward slash the imperfects.
[14:05] you will have already had access to tickets.
[14:07] Maybe you've already bought your tickets.
[14:08] But for the rest of you, tickets are now available at livenation.com.au.
[14:14] We would love slash adore to see you there.
[14:19] You dossers.
[14:24] When you get there, you can just doss because we'll be doing all the work.
[14:28] Yeah.
[14:29] Sit in your chair.
[14:30] And doss.
[14:30] And doss.
[14:31] Yeah, I don't know if that's the correct terminology.
[14:33] But you will be a dosser.
[14:34] Yeah.
[14:42] I can sleep on.

Shows are listed from Apple Podcasts' charts and directory, and Podcast Index where it is used. Every show and episode belongs to its publisher and plays from the publisher's own feed; this site hosts none of them.
