[0:14] Speaker 1: their eyes off. We're updating you multiple times a week
[0:17] Speaker 1: in this feed as the court proceedings continue to unfold.
[0:21] Speaker 1: Just a warning, this episode contains descriptions of violence against
[0:24] Speaker 1: children and suicide. In our last episode, I detailed the
[0:29] Speaker 1: events that led up to the deaths of the Clancy
[0:31] Speaker 1: children from Patrick's testimony, including his chilling words to nine
[0:35] Speaker 1: one one. In today's episode, we delve into Lindsay and
[0:39] Speaker 1: Patrick's lives in the lead up to the trial. During
[0:42] Speaker 1: his testimony, Patrick Clancy was asked about all three of
[0:46] Speaker 1: his children, Cora five, Dawson three, and eight month old Callen.
[0:54] Speaker 2: Cora's into princesses, and she had a lot of friends,
[1:06] Speaker 2: and she just liked taking care of people. He was
[1:11] Speaker 2: in the firefighters and trucks, and he liked parpetrol. Allen correct,
[1:30] Speaker 2: he had.
[1:31] Speaker 1: Many Lindsay and Patrick named Cora after the first baby
[1:39] Speaker 1: Lindsey delivered as a nurse. Patrick described his ex wife
[1:43] Speaker 1: as a dedicated mum. Prior to the killings. As emergency
[1:47] Speaker 1: services arrived on the scene and took in the horror
[1:49] Speaker 1: that was in front of them. Lindsay was rushed from
[1:52] Speaker 1: one hospital to the next. Due to the severity of
[1:55] Speaker 1: her trauma, she needed intensive surgical and medical treatment. Children
[2:00] Speaker 1: were also rushed to local hospitals, but none of them survived.
[2:04] Speaker 1: A few days after the killings, Patrick received a voicemail
[2:08] Speaker 1: from Lindsay.
[2:09] Speaker 2: She said she heard a man's voice telling her that
[2:12] Speaker 2: if she didn't do it now, she would lose her chance,
[2:16] Speaker 2: or something like that.
[2:18] Speaker 1: She was assessed on January twenty sixth, two days after
[2:21] Speaker 1: the killings. Incubated in the ICU, psychiatric staff gave her
[2:25] Speaker 1: paper to write her answers on. When asked how she
[2:28] Speaker 1: was feeling, she wrote down horrified. Then do I have
[2:32] Speaker 1: an attorney? When asked if she had questions for the
[2:35] Speaker 1: psychiatric team, she said.
[2:38] Speaker 3: She asked, is my body broken? Are my legs street?
[2:45] Speaker 3: She then asked about can she have visitors? And you
[2:50] Speaker 3: know where her family is.
[2:52] Speaker 1: In another assessment, it was raised that Lindsay wanted to
[2:55] Speaker 1: change her health care proxy from her husband to her parents.
[2:59] Speaker 1: The next day, it was determined she had the medical
[3:01] Speaker 1: decision making capacity to do so. Eventually, she was transferred
[3:05] Speaker 1: to a psychiatric facility where she was being held. She
[3:08] Speaker 1: continues to receive medical treatment and remains partially paralyzed. Her
[3:13] Speaker 1: sister and her mother have continued to support her. During
[3:17] Speaker 1: her mum's testimony, she said.
[3:19] Speaker 4: Lindsay was a very loving mother. She was dedicated to
[3:24] Speaker 4: her children. She was a fun mother. I was always
[3:29] Speaker 4: doing things for her kids. She always wanted to be
[3:33] Speaker 4: a mother, have many children, and I felt it was
[3:38] Speaker 4: the best thing that ever happened to her, and she
[3:41] Speaker 4: would do anything for her children. She was just a
[3:44] Speaker 4: loving mother.
[3:45] Speaker 1: After the killings, a friend of the family started a
[3:48] Speaker 1: GoFundMe on Patrick's behalf, which raised just over a million
[3:52] Speaker 1: dollars with the intention of helping cover medical bills, funeral services,
[3:56] Speaker 1: and legal help. In the description of the GoFundMe, thanked
[4:00] Speaker 1: those for contributing. Since the deaths of his children, he's
[4:04] Speaker 1: been actively involved in charitable endeavors, including the Herd Foundation,
[4:08] Speaker 1: which was created by him alongside his sisters in twenty
[4:12] Speaker 1: twenty four. The charity's core mission is to build a
[4:16] Speaker 1: dedicated treatment center where parents can heal with dignity and
[4:20] Speaker 1: support and foster a culture of kindness and connection so
[4:23] Speaker 1: no one struggles alone. It's been reported that Patrick went
[4:27] Speaker 1: on solo trips to both Europe and Latin America in
[4:30] Speaker 1: the months after his children were killed, before relocating to
[4:34] Speaker 1: New York. In the May of twenty twenty three, he
[4:36] Speaker 1: sold the family home in Duxbury and rented an apartment
[4:40] Speaker 1: in the Upper East Side of New York and started
[4:42] Speaker 1: a new job working for Microsoft. At the time, he
[4:46] Speaker 1: filed for divorce from Lindsay and began dating again. In
[4:49] Speaker 1: February twenty twenty four, he was in a confirmed new
[4:53] Speaker 1: relationship with doctor Rachel Danis. The pair moved in together
[4:57] Speaker 1: in twenty twenty five and were married in April twenty
[5:00] Speaker 1: six in New York's Central Park, just a few months
[5:03] Speaker 1: prior to Lindsay's trial. Patrick has continued to center his
[5:07] Speaker 1: children in his life after running the Boston Marathon in
[5:10] Speaker 1: tribute to them, he shared in a statement shared by
[5:13] Speaker 1: the Boston Children's Hospital, Callen spent his last moments in
[5:17] Speaker 1: my arms before he passed at Boston Children's Hospital. They
[5:21] Speaker 1: gave me a little more time with my boy, and
[5:24] Speaker 1: I'll forever be grateful for that, He shared. This with
[5:27] Speaker 1: reporters after crossing the finish line.
[5:29] Speaker 3: I love my kids.
[5:30] Speaker 2: There are wonderful people. They had a lot of friends.
[5:34] Speaker 2: Everybody loved them, and they had short lives, but they
[5:38] Speaker 2: had really good lives.
