On Mon.'s No Dunks, Skeets and Tas hit the barn to feed the piggies NBA trade rumor slop. The Blazers are aggressively pursuing Jaylen Brown, but would the Nuggets flip Jamal Murray for him? Kawhi Leonard is drawing interest from the Raptors and Mavericks. Ja Morant is flagrantly available. The Pelicans are seeking multiple first-round picks for Trey Murphy III. And can the Warriors really pull off landing LeBron James and Anthony Davis? That, plus the Suns trade for Miles Bridges, Isaiah Hartenstein and the Thunder agree to an extension, the Pistons land sharpshooter Isaiah Joe, and a zillion other player options picked up and declined. 🧠 Subscribe to Ben Golliver's new Substack page: https://bengolliver.substack.com/ 👀 Watch tonight's G League game with No Dunks on the call: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eA8W51IV-U0 ✍️ Join No Dunks' Substack page for ad-free episodes: https://nodunks.substack.com/ 👕 Fix up, look sharp in No Dunks merch: https://bit.ly/4qi6nin 📈 Subscribe to No Dunks on YouTube: YouTube.com/nodunksinc 𝕏 Follow No Dunks on Twitter/X: https://x.com/NoDunksInc 📸 Follow No Dunks on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nodunksinc/ See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

[0:27] Speaker 1: way back to Atlanta as we speak. I hope he
[0:31] Speaker 1: stops at a BUCkies. Oh, I hope he stops at
[0:34] Speaker 1: a BUCkies. Hello to everybody joining us live on YouTube,
[0:37] Speaker 1: hit the like button, subscribe podcast listeners, five star ratings
[0:40] Speaker 1: and reviews. There's actually something else you need to do.
[0:42] Speaker 1: If you're joining us on YouTube live. You got to

[0:47] Speaker 1: our best while we're actually doing a show. But this
[0:49] Speaker 1: guy's dropping things left.
[0:50] Speaker 2: And right now.
[0:51] Speaker 1: You're dropping a lot of player options being picked up
[0:54] Speaker 1: or declined, and.
[0:55] Speaker 2: We'll get into those later and players being indicted on
[0:58] Speaker 2: federal charges. Heez.
[0:59] Speaker 1: Yes, yes, we'll also talk about the Hornets trading some
[1:04] Speaker 1: guy to the Phoenix Suns the Thunder. They made some
[1:07] Speaker 1: moves over the weekend, and we got a bunch of
[1:09] Speaker 1: other transactions. But first task, NBA trade rumors are at
[1:14] Speaker 1: an all time high right now, so let's feed the
[1:17] Speaker 1: piggies and bring back the slop scale, farmer tasks and
[1:24] Speaker 1: farmer skeets here.
[1:26] Speaker 2: Trade should shot stop at a BUCkies, but you should
[1:28] Speaker 2: also just stop at a farm. See if the pigs
[1:29] Speaker 2: are a I saw a piggy at a farm here
[1:31] Speaker 2: in Georgia yesterday. Piggy's fourth smartest animal I've heard.
[1:36] Speaker 1: Well, they know a lot about trade rumors, that's for sure.
[1:38] Speaker 1: So we are going to weigh in on the latest
[1:41] Speaker 1: NBA trade rumors using the slop scale. If this is
[1:44] Speaker 1: your first time joining us here on no dunks. The heavier,
[1:48] Speaker 1: the juicier, the sloppier the NBA trade rumor, the more
[1:51] Speaker 1: buckets of slop we assigned to it, right, all right,
[1:54] Speaker 1: So five buckets of slop very exciting, you're very into
[1:58] Speaker 1: said trade rumor maybe you buy it for all I know,
[2:01] Speaker 1: one bucket a slop and you're like, come on, you know,
[2:04] Speaker 1: maybe this is old news, this is nothing whatever, however
[2:08] Speaker 1: you want to interpret it. Yeah, okay, okay, Well let's
[2:11] Speaker 1: get into it first. One here, the Blazers are still
[2:15] Speaker 1: exploring the idea of trading for Jalen Brown with free
[2:17] Speaker 1: agency on the horizon. In fact, Stein and Fisher our
[2:21] Speaker 1: slop Kings report that Portland is aggressively pursuing Brown, a
[2:26] Speaker 1: player they have coveted since Dame's first tenure with the franchise. Now,
[2:31] Speaker 1: there are a lot of angles we can go with
[2:32] Speaker 1: Jail and Brown here, and we'll get to the whole
[2:35] Speaker 1: analytics part as well. He was angry on Twitter this weekend.
[2:38] Speaker 1: But the Trailblazers aggressively pursuing Jail and Brown? How many
[2:43] Speaker 1: buckets a slop?
[2:44] Speaker 2: I'm giving it two buckets a slop because I don't
[2:47] Speaker 2: think these two teams see eye to eye on the package. Okay,
[2:51] Speaker 2: I understand Portland's going to go after them, but Boston
[2:53] Speaker 2: wants to win now, So that would mean that Portland's
[2:56] Speaker 2: going to give up a good player. I don't know
[2:58] Speaker 2: if Portland is willing to do that. I went through
[3:04] Speaker 2: the packages that Boston would actually accept and actually work.
[3:09] Speaker 2: Thanks spot Track for this. So these are the levels here,
[3:13] Speaker 2: Denny and Drew, Denny Avdia and Drew Holliday. That would
[3:16] Speaker 2: be a package that Boston would accept. But Denny Avdya
[3:19] Speaker 2: is not being traded from the Portland Trail Blazers according
[3:22] Speaker 2: to rumors, and I totally believe that he's off the table. Yeah.
[3:25] Speaker 2: And then here's a second level of package that I
[3:28] Speaker 2: do believe Boston would accept, Donovan Klingen along with Drew
[3:33] Speaker 2: and Scoot Henderson. That would work for Jalen Brown just
[3:36] Speaker 2: straight up no picks, But apparently the Blazers don't want
[3:39] Speaker 2: to include Donovan Klingen, right, I believe that as well.
[3:43] Speaker 2: Tom Dunnan's got a new team. I think that would
[3:45] Speaker 2: make sense. Now Boston would come back and say, okay, okay,
[3:48] Speaker 2: how about how about let's lower it a little bit,
[3:50] Speaker 2: how about Klingon, Jeremy Grant and Scoot Henderson. And then
[3:53] Speaker 2: still I think the Blazers say, no, let me get
[3:55] Speaker 2: to another level that we can start talking about. I
[3:58] Speaker 2: think on both sides, Jeremy Grant, Scoot Henderson and Tamani Kamorrow.
[4:01] Speaker 2: Maybe there's the pick swaps that they own for the
[4:03] Speaker 2: Milwaukee Bucks, which are juicy in twenty nine and thirty.
[4:07] Speaker 2: You can basically get the Bucks trade or the Bucks
[4:11] Speaker 2: draft pick. That's where I think we're talking about a trade,
[4:14] Speaker 2: but I just don't know if the Celtics are willing
[4:16] Speaker 2: to go that low. You go back and you look
[4:18] Speaker 2: at Jalen Brown's rumors over the years, it's always for
[4:22] Speaker 2: a really good player. We're talking cream of the crop.
[4:25] Speaker 2: It's Kevin Durant, it's Jansey to Gumbo. So when we're
[4:27] Speaker 2: talking about the Blazers, Denny is the start. They're going
[4:31] Speaker 2: to say no to that. Then we get into the
[4:34] Speaker 2: Klingon talk along with some other parts because the money
[4:36] Speaker 2: has to work. I just don't see it working now.
[4:39] Speaker 2: The Blazers are going to be talking. It's Jalen Brown.
[4:42] Speaker 2: I understand that, but I don't know what the Blazers
[4:45] Speaker 2: come in and do here. I think I think they're
[4:47] Speaker 2: trying to find a good deal. You know, Tom Dundan
[4:49] Speaker 2: made his money off sub prime auto loans and the
[4:54] Speaker 2: Celtics got too good a credit for that. I think
[4:58] Speaker 2: the bargaining may happen here, but you think they're doing it.
[5:01] Speaker 2: I think the picks obviously is a part of it.
[5:04] Speaker 1: Oh, I think the picks is a huge part of it.
[5:06] Speaker 1: I think any deal with Portland is centered around draft capital.
[5:10] Speaker 2: Well, here's players here.
[5:12] Speaker 1: There's young prospects as you went through. Klingon would be
[5:14] Speaker 1: the big hold up. I mean, the Celtics are going
[5:16] Speaker 1: to ask for him, whether the Blazers are like we
[5:19] Speaker 1: sort of thought he's our center of the future here.
[5:21] Speaker 1: We'd love to hold on to him. But there is
[5:23] Speaker 1: Scoot Henderson, They're short and sharp to Manti Kamara. There's
[5:27] Speaker 1: like good younger players here. In addition to all this
[5:30] Speaker 1: draft capital, they have all their own first round picks,
[5:33] Speaker 1: they have unprotected picks from the Bucks, Magic and Celtics,
[5:36] Speaker 1: and they also have valuable pick swaps from the Bucks
[5:39] Speaker 1: in twenty eight and thirty. So you can put together
[5:41] Speaker 1: a lot of draft capital to sort of take a
[5:43] Speaker 1: stab here at Jalen Brown. If I'm the Blazers, I'm
[5:47] Speaker 1: probably trading let's say three first round picks again, some
[5:51] Speaker 1: of them not yours, Grant because of his contract for
[5:55] Speaker 1: salary matching purposes thirty four million, and let's say Shade
[5:58] Speaker 1: and Sharp. I'd do that in a nanosecond, right instantly,
[6:02] Speaker 1: if from Portland for Jalen Brown. But am I having
[6:05] Speaker 1: more of a conversation. If it's three first round picks,
[6:08] Speaker 1: it's Grant, it's Sharp, it's clinging for Jalen Brown and
[6:12] Speaker 1: my cater or something like that. Whoever else has to
[6:14] Speaker 1: come back. Yeah, okay, then I'm probably still doing it.
[6:17] Speaker 2: You're getting rid of. Clinging is sort of a hang
[6:19] Speaker 2: up with the players wise. I think that's what it
[6:21] Speaker 2: comes down to, because it's a lot of money for
[6:23] Speaker 2: Jalen Brown, so you have to have a big contract
[6:25] Speaker 2: going back the other way, and basically it kind of
[6:27] Speaker 2: centers money wise, it centers around either Jeremy Grant or
[6:31] Speaker 2: Drew Holliday. And then the key part player wise is
[6:36] Speaker 2: Don Van Klingen to throw along with that player because
[6:39] Speaker 2: the Celtics, why I lack in slops here is because
[6:44] Speaker 2: that they they need to win this whole Jalen Brown,
[6:49] Speaker 2: incredible player top six in MVP voting, is not just
[6:53] Speaker 2: going to be thrown away for some good picks down
[6:56] Speaker 2: the road. In my opinion, there needs to be a really,
[6:58] Speaker 2: really really good player, and it's not Jeremy Grant, it's
[7:01] Speaker 2: not Scoot Henderson, it's not Shade and Sharp in my opinion,
[7:04] Speaker 2: Donovankling and it can be the hang up as long
[7:06] Speaker 2: as those are juicy picks behind him, because as I said,
[7:10] Speaker 2: they've only wanted to trade for top fifty players of
[7:14] Speaker 2: all time or top twenty players of all time, I
[7:16] Speaker 2: should say, and Durant and Yannistana Google.
[7:18] Speaker 1: You don't think Jeremy Grant is that? Yeah, that's fair.
[7:22] Speaker 2: It's if it's literally if it's Grant Sharp and to
[7:24] Speaker 2: Money Kamara or more more likely Grant Scoot and Too
[7:30] Speaker 2: Money Kamara. I don't think it happens for the Boston Solf.
[7:34] Speaker 2: It's just how.
[7:34] Speaker 1: Desperately they want out of or whether how desperately they
[7:37] Speaker 1: want out of the jail and Brown business or Jayleen
[7:40] Speaker 1: Brown wants out of Boston Celtics business at this point. Yeah,
[7:43] Speaker 1: that's sort of what we got into here.
[7:44] Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't think Jalen wants, but hey,
[7:46] Speaker 2: that's I just disagree one with that, but we'll see.
[7:50] Speaker 1: Michael Scotto says Brown has drawn trade interest from various
[7:53] Speaker 1: teams here across the league, as some of us expected.
[7:56] Speaker 1: I mean, if this guy is on the trade block,
[7:57] Speaker 1: there are so many teams lining up for him. Obviously,
[8:00] Speaker 1: the Raptors, I mean they're sort of linked to every
[8:04] Speaker 1: bigger name here right now.
[8:05] Speaker 2: Yeah, that makes sense.
[8:06] Speaker 1: The Nuggets, I'd like to dissect with you. That's the Hornets,
[8:08] Speaker 1: the Hawks, the Clippers. There's been a ton of teams here. Again,
[8:11] Speaker 1: that's Scotto slop with Jalen Brown. Scotto Slappoh, Bill Simmons,
[8:16] Speaker 1: I heard with Zach Lowe yesterday, I guess or last
[8:19] Speaker 1: night saying Celtics Nuggets Jaalen Brown to Denver.
[8:22] Speaker 2: Yeah, that one's good.
[8:24] Speaker 1: Let's say Jamal Murray and Cam Johnson for Jalen Brown
[8:26] Speaker 1: and Sam Hauser.
[8:27] Speaker 2: Yeah, I do think so you like that one more.
[8:30] Speaker 1: It sounds like from what both sides.
[8:32] Speaker 2: Well again, and I think the Celtics need a player desperately.
[8:36] Speaker 2: I don't think this is just about picks. I think
[8:38] Speaker 2: Brad Stevens is here to win, and so Jamal Murray
[8:42] Speaker 2: coming back. Yeah, we're talking about Jamal Murray and Derek
[8:46] Speaker 2: White backcourt with Tatum and the guys that they've still retained,
[8:50] Speaker 2: you know, the shireman beside him, that type of thing.
[8:56] Speaker 2: Depending on what the Blazers are willing to do. I
[8:58] Speaker 2: think that makes a lot of sense. I'm both and
[9:00] Speaker 2: that the Nuggets may want to just mix it up.
[9:03] Speaker 2: But wow, you know, the Nuggets have a huge, a
[9:09] Speaker 2: huge job to do in bringing Peyton Watson back, and
[9:11] Speaker 2: so that may change things with Jayleen Brown because they're
[9:14] Speaker 2: going to pay a lot for Peyton Watson. But yeah,
[9:16] Speaker 2: the Nuggets may want to switch it up as well.
[9:18] Speaker 1: Aaron Gordon's name is on the trade block here as well.
[9:21] Speaker 1: Maybe he's involved in some sort of trade.
[9:22] Speaker 2: Yeah, older getting hurt unfortunately the last couple of seasons
[9:25] Speaker 2: with the hamstrings. So I wonder what the Celtics are
[9:28] Speaker 2: thinking about that.
[9:28] Speaker 1: And we talked before about the Nuggets like, Okay, maybe
[9:31] Speaker 1: it's Aaron Gordon, but it's more likely they're trying to
[9:33] Speaker 1: move Cam Johnson or they're trying to move Christian Brown
[9:35] Speaker 1: obviously signed the big deal.
[9:37] Speaker 2: Yeah, tough to do.
[9:39] Speaker 1: Maybe you get to the point where you have to
[9:40] Speaker 1: trade a player of Jamal Murray's to get obviously a good,
[9:44] Speaker 1: good player in Jaylen Brown. But man, with that changed
[9:46] Speaker 1: the Nuggets and how they play. The Nuggets are Jamal
[9:48] Speaker 1: Murray and you'll get pick and roll Like now, that's
[9:51] Speaker 1: just a completely different offense. This is the best, one
[9:53] Speaker 1: of the best offenses we've seen in the NBA when
[9:55] Speaker 1: they're healthy and out there on the floor.
[9:57] Speaker 2: And Jamal Murray is coming off his best regular season
[9:59] Speaker 2: of his career, so this would be one hell.
[10:01] Speaker 1: Of a switch up. And you start going, what's going
[10:03] Speaker 1: on with all these teams. Everyone's like, you know, the
[10:05] Speaker 1: Minnesota Timberwolves have made a big move. Other squads are
[10:08] Speaker 1: like really shaking things up here. It's like, is it
[10:10] Speaker 1: a bit of keeping up with the Joneses? If this
[10:13] Speaker 1: is to go down Portland makes more sense and like, wow,
[10:17] Speaker 1: that's a top Wherever you have Jalen Brown, is he
[10:19] Speaker 1: top ten, top fifteen, wherever that's a talented player. You
[10:22] Speaker 1: got Dame coming back, you other have young guys, It's
[10:24] Speaker 1: like makes sort of more sense. Like you're like, all right,
[10:27] Speaker 1: we have an ability to get this guy, let's go
[10:28] Speaker 1: get them.
[10:29] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[10:29] Speaker 1: Denver is got of a swap of good players.
[10:32] Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, right, and Portland's got a variety of picks
[10:36] Speaker 2: their own far far down the road. But the Milwaukee
[10:40] Speaker 2: Bucks picks.
[10:40] Speaker 1: Yeah, so they could do it with draft capital.
[10:43] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[10:43] Speaker 1: So if that's high high, high on Brad Stevens and
[10:46] Speaker 1: Celtics like wish list for for Jalen Brown, then they're
[10:50] Speaker 1: you know, one of the few teams that realistically could
[10:52] Speaker 1: put together a lot.
[10:53] Speaker 2: Of draft capital for them.
[10:54] Speaker 1: You know, in the three, four or five first round
[10:57] Speaker 1: pick type of things.
[10:58] Speaker 2: Five. I don't think we're seeing that anymore, but you
[11:00] Speaker 2: know what I mean, three or four. So why do
[11:01] Speaker 2: you think Jalen Brown hates the idea of going back
[11:04] Speaker 2: to Boston or doesn't want to doesn't like the idea
[11:07] Speaker 2: of going back to Boston.
[11:08] Speaker 1: Well, because they've put his name in trade rumors and yeah,
[11:12] Speaker 1: it was prevery honest, and you can say as much
[11:14] Speaker 1: as you want, it's very honest. Man, It's not disrespectful,
[11:17] Speaker 1: and I hear you. I get that. But he also
[11:20] Speaker 1: we've gone over this a million times already.
[11:22] Speaker 2: It feels like.
[11:22] Speaker 1: It's like he feels disrespected. And then I don't think
[11:25] Speaker 1: all this stuff that happened over the weekend helps it all.
[11:27] Speaker 1: And that's no fault of the Celtics unless it was
[11:31] Speaker 1: their analytics guy. They're not a mis analytics guy that
[11:33] Speaker 1: said he was the seventh best player on a team,
[11:35] Speaker 1: which I doubt it was. But I just think he
[11:38] Speaker 1: feels slighted here this idea of a refresh. Here's the
[11:40] Speaker 1: other way to look at this. I saw Sam from
[11:42] Speaker 1: you know Ball write about this over the weekend. I
[11:44] Speaker 1: shared and I thought it was a good point. Maybe
[11:47] Speaker 1: what happened last year is that Boston expected to be
[11:50] Speaker 1: a mediocre team with Notatum, and then suddenly they're just
[11:54] Speaker 1: as surprised as everybody else that they're like a second
[11:57] Speaker 1: third seed there in the Eastern Conference. Very very good
[11:59] Speaker 1: led by Jail and Brown. But think about what they
[12:01] Speaker 1: did at the trade deadline the Celtics last year, they
[12:04] Speaker 1: did next to nothing. They traded Simon's for Vouch. Vouch. Now, okay, yeah,
[12:10] Speaker 1: was it trying to balance the roster a little bit.
[12:12] Speaker 1: Maybe you were going to get something from the big
[12:14] Speaker 1: position from Vouch, which he didn't ultimately give them. Point
[12:17] Speaker 1: is they were like looking at this like it was
[12:18] Speaker 1: more of like get under the tax type move. Not
[12:20] Speaker 1: a lot of belief in the team, even with Jason
[12:24] Speaker 1: Tatum coming back. So the thinking is here, like they
[12:27] Speaker 1: maybe have been like getting to this sort of point
[12:30] Speaker 1: of splitting up the Jays and getting off a jail
[12:33] Speaker 1: in Brown and sticking with Tatum and switching things up
[12:36] Speaker 1: for a while now, not just what's happened here and
[12:38] Speaker 1: not just the twitch stream and all that, Like it's
[12:41] Speaker 1: sort of been like they've been sort of moving towards
[12:43] Speaker 1: this idea. I think there's that's possible. Who knows, YEA.
[12:49] Speaker 2: The trade deadline. I don't know if there's options to
[12:52] Speaker 2: get better. I mean, they did a good job of
[12:54] Speaker 2: getting cheaper by trading away Drew Holliday and chrisps Porzingis.
[12:57] Speaker 2: I don't know if they really had the assets to
[12:59] Speaker 2: go say, hey, getting better and Jason Tatum's coming better.
[13:02] Speaker 2: So I don't think that really played a factor. I
[13:04] Speaker 2: just think Jalen Brown likes to talk. He's a vocal person.
[13:07] Speaker 2: He likes to be himself, and we're seeing a lot
[13:09] Speaker 2: of that and people are saying, Okay, that must mean
[13:12] Speaker 2: that he doesn't want to be in Boston. They seem
[13:16] Speaker 2: to back him. Other than a couple of trade rumors
[13:19] Speaker 2: over the years, they've stuck with him. I want to
[13:21] Speaker 2: see what happens if, you know, whatever the conversations are
[13:25] Speaker 2: behind the behind doors, is he's saying I don't want
[13:29] Speaker 2: to be here. I guess that's possible. But to me,
[13:32] Speaker 2: I just think he likes to talk, he likes to
[13:34] Speaker 2: express himself, and that's cool, and so we shall see,
[13:38] Speaker 2: we shall see.
[13:39] Speaker 1: Let's slip this in here while we're talking about Jallen Brown. So,
[13:41] Speaker 1: during a recent radio interview. ESPN's Bobby Mark said front
[13:44] Speaker 1: offices across the NBA have mixed feelings about Jalen Brown
[13:50] Speaker 1: and suggested that at least one analytics employee, an anonymous
[13:55] Speaker 1: person here, viewed Jalen Brown as like the seventh best
[13:58] Speaker 1: player on a given team. Jalen Brown, he likes to talking.
[14:02] Speaker 1: He likes to tweet as well tasks. He fired back
[14:04] Speaker 1: at that notion on Saturday. He tweeted, among other things,
[14:08] Speaker 1: quote analytics nowadays used to discredit and control narratives, roll
[14:12] Speaker 1: the ball out. None of these guys are better than
[14:15] Speaker 1: me on both ends. And he also tweeted, nobody has
[14:19] Speaker 1: one more combined regular season and playoff games since I
[14:22] Speaker 1: entered the league ten years ago. True fact, and he
[14:25] Speaker 1: added analytics have r ruining the game. We play an
[14:29] Speaker 1: AI hoops and let me tell you a task. I
[14:32] Speaker 1: don't know how online you were this weekend, but this
[14:34] Speaker 1: anonymous random analytics guy sparked quite the conversation on Twitter about,
[14:40] Speaker 1: you know, analytics in basketball, and him pushing back, I
[14:45] Speaker 1: guess against this idea. Any thoughts on any of this?
[14:50] Speaker 2: Yeah, this random analytics person who said something to Bobby Marx,
[14:54] Speaker 2: who Bobby Marks then later came on and defended himself
[14:57] Speaker 2: on Twitter and yeah and said I listened to the
[14:59] Speaker 2: whole by the way.
[15:00] Speaker 1: Exactly, yeah, which he was sorry, do ye happen there?
[15:03] Speaker 2: No, what you're Yeah, what you're about to say is
[15:05] Speaker 2: that Bobby said, listen, he was having a good time
[15:09] Speaker 2: talking on radio and relaying something that he heard. But
[15:14] Speaker 2: what was lifted from that clip was one little thing.
[15:19] Speaker 2: And what wasn't lifted is that, of course I want
[15:22] Speaker 2: you on my team, as Bobby Mark said, you're one
[15:25] Speaker 2: hundred ninety one and eighty over the last four years
[15:28] Speaker 2: record wise, top ten player, and of course you're going
[15:31] Speaker 2: to help win a championship. But that part didn't make it.
[15:33] Speaker 2: But that's the media in twenty twenty six, as Bobby
[15:36] Speaker 2: Mark said, the juice of the Lemon? Is that dumb?
[15:42] Speaker 2: That one comment where Bobby is just saying, hey, behind
[15:46] Speaker 2: the scenes, that's what someone said to me. Is he
[15:49] Speaker 2: the seventh best player on any team? I mean you
[15:52] Speaker 2: put two All Star teams out there.
[15:55] Speaker 1: On Team USA.
[15:56] Speaker 2: Maybe and yeah maybe maybe he's depending on what team
[16:00] Speaker 2: you kind of run out there.
[16:01] Speaker 1: Exactly. This is that's why this was hilarious and dumb
[16:04] Speaker 1: and like I almost wondered if, like Bobby Marks is
[16:06] Speaker 1: just I don't think he's lying, but like you know,
[16:09] Speaker 1: like just exaggerating a little too much here on the radio,
[16:12] Speaker 1: Like really seventh best.
[16:13] Speaker 2: Somebody says he's a pretty efficient player. It's not like, yeah,
[16:17] Speaker 2: he was efficient, even though he's shot the most twos
[16:20] Speaker 2: in the NBA this past season per game.
[16:24] Speaker 1: Well, people like to point out that the Celtics were
[16:26] Speaker 1: better when Jaylen Brown was off the floor this year. Sure,
[16:28] Speaker 1: so there, I guess that means they're just better without him.
[16:30] Speaker 1: Sure that's why they're trading them. Tests maybe that's the
[16:32] Speaker 1: real reasoning here was it was very silly.
[16:35] Speaker 2: This game is looking good in the off season in China.
[16:37] Speaker 2: Watch the clip. He's in China.
[16:38] Speaker 1: He's in France, baby France.
[16:40] Speaker 2: Yeah, man, getting them all confused. He was in China anyways,
[16:43] Speaker 2: he was playing one on one. Well, Jaylen Brown's bawling,
[16:47] Speaker 2: he's looking good looking like this at least the sixth
[16:49] Speaker 2: best player on a team.
[16:50] Speaker 1: So before we move on, you got this at two
[16:52] Speaker 1: buckets of Slotman, it sounds like you still believe that
[16:57] Speaker 1: they all can run this back and Brown could be
[16:59] Speaker 1: a part of.
[16:59] Speaker 2: Thee They can run this back. Now if if they're
[17:02] Speaker 2: sold by Tom Dundan and Joe Cronin over there and
[17:06] Speaker 2: they think about it. Sure, if you're gonna overwhelm us
[17:09] Speaker 2: with a package to get a guy who's under contract,
[17:14] Speaker 2: that's a part of its part for the Blazers. Tom
[17:18] Speaker 2: Dunnan comes and purchases this team. I don't think he's
[17:20] Speaker 2: going to get Kawhi Leonard for a year who's not
[17:23] Speaker 2: signing an extension with the Portland Trail Blazers. Highly unlikely.
[17:26] Speaker 2: So yeah, that's part of it. If they can overwhelm
[17:28] Speaker 2: and and basically keep those those two lanes going like
[17:34] Speaker 2: the current championship type of team with the Celtics and
[17:38] Speaker 2: then a future with the Celtics with draft picks and
[17:40] Speaker 2: all that, like as the Warriors were trying to do forever. Yeah,
[17:43] Speaker 2: of course that the brad Steemens would be smart to
[17:45] Speaker 2: think about that.
[17:47] Speaker 1: Well, you brought up Kawhi, so let's go to him here.
[17:49] Speaker 1: He is drawing interest from several teams. According to the Athletic,
[17:52] Speaker 1: the Mavericks and Clippers have discussed the deal that would
[17:55] Speaker 1: send the seven time all start a Dallas for a
[17:57] Speaker 1: package that would include PJ. Washington, Clayson, and draft picks.
[18:01] Speaker 1: Another possible reunion would see Kawhi returning to Toronto.
[18:06] Speaker 2: Yes.
[18:06] Speaker 1: Jake Fisher says the Raps would prefer to include brandon
[18:09] Speaker 1: Ingram rather than RJ. Barrett in any Kawhi deal. So
[18:13] Speaker 1: we're lumping these two together at these two reports here
[18:17] Speaker 1: task Kawhi drawing interest from the MAVs and the Raptors
[18:19] Speaker 1: in trade discussions.
[18:20] Speaker 2: How many buckets a slop? Give me three buckets a slope.
[18:24] Speaker 2: I've been listening to all Kawhi interviews, and if there's
[18:27] Speaker 2: anyone who actually conveys what's going on inside that head,
[18:30] Speaker 2: I think it is Kawhi a little bit, because he
[18:32] Speaker 2: doesn't talk much, and when he does talk with the
[18:36] Speaker 2: Lost about the Los Angeles Clippers and their future, he
[18:38] Speaker 2: talks about Garland coming into a role. But even then
[18:42] Speaker 2: he's not super convinced that this team is gonna be good.
[18:45] Speaker 2: Does this seem gonna be good him Garland after trading Zubots,
[18:50] Speaker 2: It's it's highly unlikely that they're gonna be good. He's
[18:53] Speaker 2: got one year left. I think the Toronto Raptors lead
[18:56] Speaker 2: the way here as far as packages that can go back.
[19:00] Speaker 2: When we're talking about Toronto versus Dallas, even versus San Antonio.
[19:04] Speaker 2: Who san Antonio I don't think has the desire to
[19:08] Speaker 2: give them the best packages possible. I just don't think
[19:10] Speaker 2: the Kawhi Wemby those two pass don't don't coincide. Kuhi
[19:16] Speaker 2: is old. But I do think the Raptors who have
[19:20] Speaker 2: said it's nice that we had this run here where
[19:23] Speaker 2: we gave a good run in a first round series
[19:26] Speaker 2: against Cleveland Cavaliers, but we need to get better. Bobby
[19:28] Speaker 2: Webster has said that, and it could be via trade.
[19:31] Speaker 2: Uh in the front office, I think would be they
[19:36] Speaker 2: would fulfill that exactly what Bobby Webster said. So ideally, yeah,
[19:40] Speaker 2: it's Ingram and probably you know the numbers work with
[19:44] Speaker 2: Pearl plus a pick. Ideally for the Raptors, they'd rather
[19:48] Speaker 2: have Ingram go out than RJ. Barrett. I think that's
[19:51] Speaker 2: clear to see what happened in the postseason. Yeah, if
[19:54] Speaker 2: they got to if they got to up it, it
[19:56] Speaker 2: would be Barrett, unfortunately for the trun Raptors plus Pertle
[20:01] Speaker 2: plus a pick for a Kawhi who would be signing
[20:04] Speaker 2: an extension with Toronto. I think that rumor is legitimate.
[20:08] Speaker 2: The only teams that Kawi would sign an extension with
[20:11] Speaker 2: the Toronto Raptors and the San Antonio Spurs. And I
[20:14] Speaker 2: think the Toronto Raptors would beat the Spurs just because
[20:17] Speaker 2: of the path that they're on. I don't think the
[20:19] Speaker 2: Spurs would. They wouldn't do it. I just don't think
[20:23] Speaker 2: that they would do an old.
[20:24] Speaker 1: Kawhi awesome on that team though. It's sort of exab
[20:27] Speaker 1: what they use.
[20:28] Speaker 2: Yeah, I just find it odd. Yeah, but maybe I'm wrong.
[20:31] Speaker 2: Do they go because he's in his mid thirties how
[20:33] Speaker 2: much he's.
[20:34] Speaker 1: Thirty five years old to day? Oh yeah, happy birthday, Kauai.
[20:38] Speaker 1: Well I got you a tree that is a part
[20:41] Speaker 1: of this. I have this had two buckets to slop.
[20:43] Speaker 1: We last I checked, we still have an investigation going
[20:46] Speaker 1: on into the allegation allegations that the Clippers circumvented the
[20:50] Speaker 1: salary cap to pay Kauai extra money. Right, we've never
[20:54] Speaker 1: got an answer on that. We're still waiting on that.
[20:57] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I was waiting.
[20:58] Speaker 1: Sort of fascinating he could be traded, let's say before
[21:02] Speaker 1: that's resultd.
[21:04] Speaker 2: No, I personally think when they hit when they hit
[21:07] Speaker 2: the Clippers with a fee draft Picks. Whatever penalty it is,
[21:13] Speaker 2: it's the Clippers and it's not Kawhi. Yeah, okay, so
[21:17] Speaker 2: it does it matter? I don't think let's put.
[21:19] Speaker 1: It that way. It's still a little odd to me,
[21:21] Speaker 1: but it's okay, fair, fair, And is it even happening?
[21:23] Speaker 1: I mean we already had the draft, so they didn't
[21:25] Speaker 1: get inged on that draft obviously.
[21:27] Speaker 2: Right, what's going on? Yeah, it's unfortunate that it's taken
[21:29] Speaker 2: this long.
[21:30] Speaker 1: So you like you like this for the Raptors though,
[21:33] Speaker 1: you would do this.
[21:36] Speaker 2: Yeah. Ideally it's spreaded Ingram over Rgi Barrett as the
[21:41] Speaker 2: primary part. If it is Barred and Pertle, which money
[21:47] Speaker 2: wise makes sense. They are super thin up at center,
[21:51] Speaker 2: even though Colin Murray Boyles was an awesome backup center.
[21:54] Speaker 2: They would need to solidify that. And it's not Sandrew
[21:57] Speaker 2: Memukalisheely who may or may not be back. It's it's
[22:03] Speaker 2: somebody else. So yeah, I think that makes more sense
[22:08] Speaker 2: than the Spurs whatever, it's like Kellen Johnson, Devin Vessel
[22:12] Speaker 2: and Picks. I think that makes more sense. Yeah, I
[22:16] Speaker 2: think I would do it. I'd say, hey, Khi, come
[22:18] Speaker 2: on back. Wow. Yeah, they do need to take another
[22:21] Speaker 2: step up. We saw the limit they have offensively, even
[22:26] Speaker 2: though it was a seven game series, it was an
[22:28] Speaker 2: ugly one. They need to they need to have a
[22:32] Speaker 2: number one option. It is scary that he's thirty five today,
[22:35] Speaker 2: no doubt. But he had a healthy season.
[22:38] Speaker 1: Yeah, he hasn't played seventy plus games in over a decade.
[22:42] Speaker 2: Yeah, So I don't that's the thing. How much are
[22:44] Speaker 2: you giving up? And I think the Raptors don't want
[22:47] Speaker 2: to give up a lot, but they may be bidding
[22:48] Speaker 2: against themselves. I don't know. I don't know what other
[22:51] Speaker 2: teams are well.
[22:52] Speaker 1: I mean the reports say Massai u Jeri versus Bobby Webster, Oh,
[22:56] Speaker 1: Jerry with the MAVs and obviously Bobby Webster and control
[22:59] Speaker 1: the Raptors now, which is very funny if this is true.
[23:01] Speaker 2: The sense and the student, Uh.
[23:03] Speaker 1: You don't seem all that impressed with a PJ. Washington,
[23:06] Speaker 1: Klay Thompson. And then and then the minimal draft capital
[23:10] Speaker 1: that even the MAVs have. They don't have a lot
[23:12] Speaker 1: of their draft future. They owe their twenty seven first
[23:14] Speaker 1: round pick to the Hornets unless it falls into the
[23:17] Speaker 1: top two, and they have zero control their twenty nine
[23:20] Speaker 1: first round pick and their twenty eight to thirty first
[23:22] Speaker 1: rounders are tied up in pick swaps.
[23:24] Speaker 2: Like, you don't sound com vincy, I'm not.
[23:26] Speaker 1: No, No, it's not a very good trade return.
[23:27] Speaker 2: Yeah, Like you can start to talk yourself into guys
[23:31] Speaker 2: that are down on the roster because Derek Lively has
[23:35] Speaker 2: been injured. Maybe he's part of the the pushback or
[23:39] Speaker 2: the package back, but doesn't do it for me. I think, Yeah,
[23:43] Speaker 2: the Raptors have all their picks, so I feel like
[23:48] Speaker 2: they're kind of biding against themselves. Maybe I'm wrong, and
[23:49] Speaker 2: the Spurs have a ton, you know, they're draft picks
[23:51] Speaker 2: that they just made. They have a ton to trade,
[23:55] Speaker 2: so maybe I'm wrong. Maybe Buford says all right to
[24:00] Speaker 2: bring him back. For the thing is I feel like
[24:05] Speaker 2: Wemby in that team is more like like the thunder Lot.
[24:08] Speaker 2: Let's long play it. Let's just go back with what
[24:10] Speaker 2: we have. We were winning in what was it, seventy
[24:13] Speaker 2: four percent of the minutes in the NBA Finals, and
[24:16] Speaker 2: we're gonna switch it up like that. I think we
[24:18] Speaker 2: just got to grow internally. I think that makes more sense.
[24:20] Speaker 1: Yeah, But what I love about him going to the
[24:22] Speaker 1: Spurs is it It's more reminiscent to me of him
[24:25] Speaker 1: going and getting traded to the Raptors the first time
[24:27] Speaker 1: in twenty nineteen, where it's like they were an elite team.
[24:30] Speaker 1: The Raptors were really good and then added Quiet a
[24:33] Speaker 1: level up. He only played sixty games that regular season.
[24:36] Speaker 1: It didn't matter. They were still awesome without him out there.
[24:38] Speaker 1: They were a veteran team. Now it's different, obviously than
[24:40] Speaker 1: the Spurs. They're a young team. He'd be the that
[24:42] Speaker 1: guy coming in here. But the idea is like, hey man,
[24:44] Speaker 1: we just need you in the playoffs. Just like you
[24:47] Speaker 1: could slow play them. You don't need to have heavy
[24:50] Speaker 1: minutes on them. And then it's just for the playoff series.
[24:53] Speaker 1: I see we're saying get us a bucket. He I
[24:55] Speaker 1: mean we saw it work.
[24:57] Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, he came and enjoying six Pascal Siakam and
[25:01] Speaker 2: Kyle Lowry and it was a good team. But they
[25:03] Speaker 2: weren't as good as the Spurs were this past seal.
[25:05] Speaker 2: I mean they got to go, yeah, but that the
[25:08] Speaker 2: Spurs were so close. The Raptors never smelled an NBA finals.
[25:13] Speaker 2: They were damn close. So I don't know what would
[25:17] Speaker 2: they'd have to give up some pieces too. I mean,
[25:19] Speaker 2: it's not like, hey, it's a free agent that would
[25:21] Speaker 2: just come in and join us and then would disappear
[25:23] Speaker 2: for a year or after a year, I should say so.
[25:27] Speaker 2: I think the Raptors are being against themselves if Kuhi
[25:29] Speaker 2: doesn't want to be in La anymore, because that's that's
[25:32] Speaker 2: the real part here. Yeah, does he still want to
[25:34] Speaker 2: stay hometown? Maybe not?
[25:38] Speaker 1: This made me laugh. Trill bro Dude tweeted yesterday sarcastically,
[25:42] Speaker 1: which definitely went over some people's heads. Quote. I can't
[25:45] Speaker 1: imagine Qaui getting traded to the Raptors with one year
[25:48] Speaker 1: left on his deal. What would they even trade a
[25:51] Speaker 1: ceiling capping mid range heavy wings scorer Yaka Perle in
[25:55] Speaker 1: a pick. That is a very good tweet because that's
[25:58] Speaker 1: exactly what they traded the time back in twenty nineteen.
[26:02] Speaker 1: Obviously brandon Ingram would be instead of Tomato Rosen Perdl. Yes,
[26:07] Speaker 1: was the same piece and then the pick. Pretty funny
[26:12] Speaker 1: that they could just do it again. Promise like they're
[26:15] Speaker 1: on an upward trajectory here, but they are again the
[26:18] Speaker 1: Raptors where they are now currently constructed. I was like,
[26:20] Speaker 1: just not like that team exactly exactly, which is a
[26:24] Speaker 1: huge difference.
[26:24] Speaker 2: And that was that.
[26:25] Speaker 1: And here's a big difference too. Now he's older, so
[26:28] Speaker 1: I get that, but Kawhi at that time that was
[26:31] Speaker 1: like injured Kawhi frustration with the Spurs front office, how
[26:34] Speaker 1: they were managing him and all that, like it was
[26:36] Speaker 1: like you were buying low. Yeah, he's coming off one
[26:40] Speaker 1: of his best seasons he's ever had. I mean, the
[26:43] Speaker 1: statistical output he just had is unreal. His second team
[26:45] Speaker 1: All NBA is very, very good last year.
[26:48] Speaker 2: So why aren't their juicy rumors out there other than
[26:52] Speaker 2: this there' he's.
[26:53] Speaker 1: Thirty five one, Yeah, he never plays a full season
[26:57] Speaker 1: two and he has the power of like this idea
[27:00] Speaker 1: of the contract extension like Giannis did, where he's like,
[27:03] Speaker 1: like there's been a lot of talk of like Detroit
[27:04] Speaker 1: Pistons could use him.
[27:05] Speaker 2: Of course, and he's like, I'm not gonna sign. I'm
[27:07] Speaker 2: not signing, So like then you're not training anything. It'd
[27:09] Speaker 2: be silly to do that. I'm only signing an extension.
[27:12] Speaker 2: According to Sham's reports, with Toronto and the Spurs two teams,
[27:18] Speaker 2: so that that's that's a big part of it. In
[27:20] Speaker 2: comparison to Jaylen Brown who signed for a long long time.
[27:23] Speaker 1: Yeah, uh, next one here. Appearing on ESPN Radio late
[27:27] Speaker 1: last week, Brian Windhorst described Jahn Morant as flagrantly available
[27:31] Speaker 1: in trade talks. That's how Windy put it. So the
[27:33] Speaker 1: Grizzlies are determined to move John Morant, who Windhorse says
[27:38] Speaker 1: he can't see playing for the organization ever again. And
[27:42] Speaker 1: this echoes a lot of sentiments from other reporters too,
[27:44] Speaker 1: like we are not going to see John Morant in
[27:47] Speaker 1: a Grizzlies uniform again. But how many buckets a slop
[27:49] Speaker 1: does tastmells put on? Jahn Morant flagrantly available.
[27:53] Speaker 2: Fill up the buckets, all of them. I think it's five.
[27:56] Speaker 2: I think I think it's time. This is a different team.
[27:59] Speaker 2: This is a cam Boozer Cedric Coward now Isaiah Stewart
[28:04] Speaker 2: in the lineup. They are looking to have a different
[28:07] Speaker 2: identity and starting with those guys, and I think you'll
[28:11] Speaker 2: see at the point guard spot along with Scottie Pippen Jr.
[28:15] Speaker 2: Walter Clayton to give them a shot. I think this
[28:18] Speaker 2: is definitely the team the time I should say that's
[28:22] Speaker 2: it's it's ready to get rid of them.
[28:24] Speaker 1: I love who is the question?
[28:26] Speaker 2: Yeah, it is. I love who. Yeah, this is the problem.
[28:30] Speaker 2: Well what about It's it's a reach now after getting
[28:34] Speaker 2: out to the Goombo, But the Miami Heat sort of
[28:37] Speaker 2: makes sense. It's it's a reach for sure.
[28:40] Speaker 1: But when you they need a point.
[28:41] Speaker 2: Guard, you specifically thought, I guess this was four or
[28:44] Speaker 2: five months ago. Jrum Range just needs new place. Yeah,
[28:48] Speaker 2: and Miami was at that time when they were looking
[28:50] Speaker 2: for a star the team. So the rumored package would
[28:55] Speaker 2: be jum Morant going to Miami with the possibility of
[29:00] Speaker 2: them having to throw in a draft pick to get
[29:03] Speaker 2: off of John Morant for you know, just straight up
[29:07] Speaker 2: money wise. It would work with Andrew Wiggins when he
[29:10] Speaker 2: opts in today because we're waiting for the deadline for
[29:13] Speaker 2: player options. Andrew Wiggins has a player option, don't worry.
[29:16] Speaker 2: I checked, he has an option. And Davion Mitchell. So
[29:19] Speaker 2: it's Wiggins and Mitchell from Rant and a pick. Do
[29:22] Speaker 2: you start to look at the Miami Heat and say, okay, okay,
[29:26] Speaker 2: I think that John Morant can excel in that organization.
[29:32] Speaker 1: It's I think I would do it if I'm them,
[29:34] Speaker 1: and I'm eighty year old pat Riley. For sure, because
[29:38] Speaker 1: your whole thing is obviously trying to take you know,
[29:40] Speaker 1: big swings, a big talent, and yeah, he's he's being
[29:44] Speaker 1: sold very low to the point where you might have
[29:46] Speaker 1: to attach a draft pick. That sounds insane to me still,
[29:48] Speaker 1: but I get it just to get off them. If
[29:50] Speaker 1: you're Memphis, big part is the Wiggins player option. TVD
[29:54] Speaker 1: is still on that, but yeah, I would be doing
[29:56] Speaker 1: that because I'm not ready to give up on John Morant.
[30:00] Speaker 1: I'm on record saying that. And I don't love the
[30:03] Speaker 1: shooting that you'd have on the Miami team because there
[30:05] Speaker 1: wouldn't be a lot of problem because you've got Joannison Bam.
[30:08] Speaker 1: We already got to figure out that problem. Now you've
[30:09] Speaker 1: got a point guard that is not a high volume
[30:11] Speaker 1: three point shooter.
[30:11] Speaker 2: And they just don't have any depth. Yeah. Yeah, So
[30:15] Speaker 2: even trading guys like David Mitchell, who's their starting point
[30:18] Speaker 2: guard and would be great defensively along with Wagans, that's
[30:22] Speaker 2: two pieces. Yeah, so that is a worry. I've Yeah,
[30:26] Speaker 2: I've scoured to see my spot track trade machine. Who
[30:29] Speaker 2: else would be able to take on John Rant. Ain't
[30:32] Speaker 2: a lot of options out there, no.
[30:34] Speaker 1: Because you look around the rest of the league. Yeah,
[30:36] Speaker 1: it's like, how many need a starting point guard? I
[30:39] Speaker 1: mean some did, but then they had the draft and
[30:42] Speaker 1: a lot of them had picks that were high enough
[30:44] Speaker 1: to take a take a point guard that you would
[30:46] Speaker 1: think is their point guard of the future. The Kings
[30:48] Speaker 1: just drafted a Cuff, The Hawks drafted our guy, Kingston Flemings,
[30:52] Speaker 1: the Nets drafted MIKEL Brown Junior. It's like you start
[30:56] Speaker 1: running out of teams that could realistically use John Morant
[31:00] Speaker 1: at the position. I mean, what about the Raptors to
[31:02] Speaker 1: go back to them, and they are rumored to be interested.
[31:04] Speaker 1: I mean, Bobby Webster's got his name in every he
[31:06] Speaker 1: had here, you know quickly is their point guard? Would
[31:12] Speaker 1: you like John Moran? That's another team that needs shooting though,
[31:14] Speaker 1: and this is where he does not flourish.
[31:17] Speaker 2: Yeah, what's the package coming back from the Raptors. I
[31:20] Speaker 2: think that's another fair question with as I mentioned those
[31:23] Speaker 2: names for the Grizzlies taking them to a new era
[31:27] Speaker 2: Boozer and Cedric Cower now Isaiah Stewart, and they still
[31:30] Speaker 2: have vel Dama. I don't know what they want would
[31:36] Speaker 2: get back from the Raptors, to be honest, Why would
[31:40] Speaker 2: they take quickly? They wouldn't. I don't. I don't think
[31:42] Speaker 2: the Grizzlies would take quickly at this time. He's not
[31:45] Speaker 2: a great contract right now. Unfortunately, Quick's guy to get
[31:48] Speaker 2: back with a good team, like have a Kawhi out there,
[31:50] Speaker 2: they'll see how good he looks with uh with Kawhi.
[31:53] Speaker 2: But this Miami Heat one seems to make the most sense.
[31:56] Speaker 2: But maybe there's a third team involved as well, so
[31:59] Speaker 2: the Heat don't have to give up two pieces.
[32:00] Speaker 1: Well, I was just going to say that now I
[32:02] Speaker 1: don't have the Heat in this three team deal. But
[32:04] Speaker 1: to go back to the jail and Brown of it
[32:05] Speaker 1: all going to Portland, you could get to like a
[32:07] Speaker 1: three team sort of package where Jalen Brown goes to Portland. Yeah,
[32:11] Speaker 1: Jeremy Grant and then some young guys be it Scoot
[32:14] Speaker 1: Henderson or something like that to Memphis, John Morant Hendrix,
[32:18] Speaker 1: and then a bunch of draft capital to Boston. Now
[32:23] Speaker 1: that's John Morant going to the Boston Celtics. Now you
[32:25] Speaker 1: might roll your eyes out. That may not love that.
[32:28] Speaker 1: I mean he does when healthy, obviously, can put pressure
[32:31] Speaker 1: on a rim and get into the paint. Again, He's
[32:33] Speaker 1: not a great three point shooter, but he does do
[32:34] Speaker 1: the other things. So I don't know. That's one on framework.
[32:37] Speaker 1: I saw a three team deal.
[32:38] Speaker 2: Yeah, I saw that too. Wasn't super excited about that
[32:41] Speaker 2: because also Jo Morant is great when he plays, he
[32:45] Speaker 2: doesn't play a lot unfortunately recently. You only played twenty
[32:48] Speaker 2: games this season, and I know they kept him out
[32:51] Speaker 2: for some time because they said, okay, what's the point
[32:55] Speaker 2: we don't also may not want you back in that
[32:57] Speaker 2: locker room, but he gets injured, and so I don't
[33:01] Speaker 2: know if the Celtics would be wanting to do that
[33:03] Speaker 2: because they also want Tatum and Peyton Purtrude when he's
[33:07] Speaker 2: out there, and Derek White to some degree in Jaln
[33:09] Speaker 2: Brown if he comes back handling the ball, and jaws
[33:12] Speaker 2: Jah can't be part of that. So I don't know.
[33:14] Speaker 2: I don't see that. I saw that and I did that.
[33:15] Speaker 2: Didn't get excited me either.
[33:16] Speaker 1: I don't cay, Okay, yeah, this is crazy. I'm just
[33:19] Speaker 1: thinking back, like I don't know when it was months
[33:21] Speaker 1: ago for sure, but like we would have debates about
[33:24] Speaker 1: rankum or like who do you think is the best
[33:27] Speaker 1: of Ja Morant, Trey Young and LaMelo Ball remember doing this. Yeah,
[33:32] Speaker 1: and well, and when Jo Moran is eventually traded here,
[33:35] Speaker 1: because I do believe he is going to be moved.
[33:38] Speaker 1: All three guys having been dealt like within a calendar
[33:40] Speaker 1: year there, Trey Young last year, and then obviously LaMelo
[33:42] Speaker 1: Ball recently, and now John Moran.
[33:44] Speaker 2: It's crazy.
[33:44] Speaker 1: It is crazy, all three teams electing to move off them.
[33:47] Speaker 2: Yeah and yeah, if I'm remembering quickly, I thought correctly.
[33:52] Speaker 2: I thought it was Trey as the best player of
[33:54] Speaker 2: the three, and he just got paid. When you look
[33:58] Speaker 2: at that, we were talking about which one would you
[34:00] Speaker 2: rather have? Well, the guy who got paid was Toray
[34:02] Speaker 2: Young with a montrous, monstrous contract, which was surprising.
[34:08] Speaker 1: According to Jake Fisher of the Steinleine, the Pelicans are
[34:12] Speaker 1: still listening to offers for Trey Murphy and Herb Jones. However,
[34:16] Speaker 1: New Orleans isn't actively shopping them and they've rejected every
[34:20] Speaker 1: offer to date. Okay, teams are calling them, they're picking
[34:23] Speaker 1: it up and they are listening, but they're not saying
[34:26] Speaker 1: much and then they're just hanging up. Additionally, the Pelicans asking
[34:29] Speaker 1: price for Murphy is reportedly three first round picks uh
[34:36] Speaker 1: slop scale on the Pelicans seeking multiple first round picks
[34:39] Speaker 1: for Trey Murphy.
[34:39] Speaker 2: The third multiple. I think this is high. I'm giving
[34:43] Speaker 2: it four buckets a slop, now three picks. That's a lot.
[34:47] Speaker 2: But Trey Murphy is a great player. I don't think
[34:49] Speaker 2: it happens right now. I think they're still going to
[34:51] Speaker 2: give it one more chance here to start the season,
[34:53] Speaker 2: and then when it falls apart like it will, Zion,
[34:59] Speaker 2: you fool me lastlast year. This year, I'm not going
[35:01] Speaker 2: into the season thinking that you're going to do it.
[35:03] Speaker 2: You still might lose three of your first six games
[35:05] Speaker 2: by thirty plus points like you did last year. After
[35:08] Speaker 2: it falls apart, then I do believe trade Murphy becomes
[35:11] Speaker 2: available because he's their best asset. You mentioned Herb Jones
[35:14] Speaker 2: wouldn't get as much back. There's a Jonte Murray in there. Still,
[35:19] Speaker 2: there's Jordan Poole and his expiring deal. There's a Zion,
[35:23] Speaker 2: but I think this guy would be the one to
[35:26] Speaker 2: get you more picks, and then you start the rebuild
[35:29] Speaker 2: with Derek Queen. Jeremiah Fears. Sadik Bay can get an
[35:33] Speaker 2: extension this offseason. Interesting stuff. Even if he signs that.
[35:36] Speaker 2: I think Trey Murphy's the guy, So multiple picks, yeah,
[35:40] Speaker 2: I think so.
[35:40] Speaker 1: Yeah, Koc says multiple teams have put two first round
[35:43] Speaker 1: picks on the table for Murphy, but Pelican's GM Joe
[35:46] Speaker 1: Dumars is pushing for three first at least in any discussion.
[35:51] Speaker 1: They're just like, keep doing this thing, Like Trey Murphy.
[35:53] Speaker 1: The third's been in trade rumors for a long time now,
[35:55] Speaker 1: and they keep just doing this thing like if you wows,
[35:58] Speaker 1: if you come over the top, then maybe we'll deal them.
[36:01] Speaker 1: Because I remember Stein reporting back in January that the
[36:05] Speaker 1: Pelicans wanted the Desmond Bane type offer that took what
[36:09] Speaker 1: four first round picks and a pick swap, So Tramerver
[36:13] Speaker 1: the third can be had, but it's just gonna would
[36:15] Speaker 1: cost you a ton of draft capital. Now, I do
[36:17] Speaker 1: wonder did the NBA's new lottery reform here change the
[36:22] Speaker 1: value of first round picks, Like that's the big sort
[36:24] Speaker 1: of Like I'm not sure, because one thought is that
[36:27] Speaker 1: general managers are likely to prize their own draft capital
[36:31] Speaker 1: even more given like the wide variants to where those
[36:36] Speaker 1: selections could land. But I guess you could flip that
[36:38] Speaker 1: on his head and say the opposite could be true too, right,
[36:41] Speaker 1: it's because of the wide variants. It's like, oh, we're
[36:43] Speaker 1: more likely to sort of not willy nilly throw them around,
[36:47] Speaker 1: but like to go get good players for sure, like
[36:49] Speaker 1: Tramerver the third Maybe you are I don't know, yeah,
[36:52] Speaker 1: sort of like we're gonna have to wait and see
[36:53] Speaker 1: I think a little bit, but.
[36:54] Speaker 2: I hear you. Yeah, it is a little bit of
[36:56] Speaker 2: a wait and see. But I do you think the
[37:00] Speaker 2: Golden State Warriors, now we'll get to Draymond Green his
[37:04] Speaker 2: decision on a player option, will be willing to be
[37:06] Speaker 2: willy neely and deal the picks that they still have
[37:09] Speaker 2: for a Trey Murphy. So finally support Steph with a
[37:16] Speaker 2: guy who can shoot beside him. They need it, and
[37:20] Speaker 2: so those picks, you know, I did my little trade machine.
[37:24] Speaker 2: They can work. But yeah, I think right now Joe
[37:28] Speaker 2: Dumars in that front office, they're going to give it
[37:31] Speaker 2: a shot here one more time.
[37:32] Speaker 1: With Jimal mo Is a new head coach as well.
[37:35] Speaker 1: So you've got that angle. Let's see what you can
[37:37] Speaker 1: get out of these guys.
[37:38] Speaker 2: Yeah, and maybe Jonte Murray being there at the beginning
[37:40] Speaker 2: of the year on like last year when he came
[37:42] Speaker 2: back from injury mid season or so maybe that's a
[37:46] Speaker 2: different that's a different beast.
[37:48] Speaker 1: Maybe maybe well, let's just get this Draymond news in here,
[37:52] Speaker 1: because there's a lot of rumors. So what's what the
[37:54] Speaker 1: Warriors are maybe trying to do here too? Draymond Green
[37:57] Speaker 1: is declining his twenty seven point seven million dollars option
[38:00] Speaker 1: to become a free agent, and Trump says this move
[38:03] Speaker 1: gives the Warriors flexibility here to try and pursue Lebron
[38:07] Speaker 1: James to pair up with Steph Curry and or I
[38:11] Speaker 1: guess the idea of maybe trading for Anthony Davis. And
[38:15] Speaker 1: also koc was writing about this over the weekend. Here
[38:17] Speaker 1: a task So the Warriors, I guess, trying to put
[38:20] Speaker 1: together a big four. That's the that's what they're going
[38:25] Speaker 1: for here. I mean, if we were throwing on buckets
[38:28] Speaker 1: a slop on this, what does Tesmelos do here? One
[38:31] Speaker 1: bucket or five or somewhere in between?
[38:33] Speaker 2: Well, which part? There's so many I know, there's so
[38:35] Speaker 2: many to fill. I mean, it's Anthony Davis and it's
[38:40] Speaker 2: Lebron one or the other. It's pretty high for Lebron. Okay, five,
[38:45] Speaker 2: they want him. And I still think that there's a
[38:50] Speaker 2: very good chance that he goes and takes less money
[38:53] Speaker 2: and or just leaves Los Angeles for Goldstad or Cleveland.
[38:58] Speaker 2: So that one's high. Anthony Davis one, that's different. I mean,
[39:02] Speaker 2: that's that's a guy who's under contract. Lebron's a free agent,
[39:06] Speaker 2: so the guy.
[39:07] Speaker 1: So they're trading Jimmy Butler in this that's the.
[39:10] Speaker 2: Weird one, right, Yeah, Off off to spot track. I go, Yeah,
[39:16] Speaker 2: it feels I don't know, Well, they have nothing else.
[39:20] Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, let's put Jemski back.
[39:23] Speaker 2: He currently makes five points seven trillion dollars.
[39:27] Speaker 1: Going to get paid a little bit more.
[39:28] Speaker 2: Actually, I think they can extend him. If I'm not,
[39:34] Speaker 2: you can sign a qualifying offer at eight point sixty six.
[39:38] Speaker 2: They can sign him to another contract. I guess could
[39:40] Speaker 2: be a sign in trade to get But do they
[39:42] Speaker 2: have the parts? Do they have the pieces?
[39:45] Speaker 1: Steph Draymond, Lebron and Anthony Davis? Where's that finishing in
[39:52] Speaker 1: the Western Conference?
[39:54] Speaker 2: Yeah? It sucks because they're old and bring back al
[39:59] Speaker 2: Horrford and apparently they want to bring craft being bring
[40:03] Speaker 2: back Chriss. Yeah, I mean there's some young guys on
[40:06] Speaker 2: that team, but where are they finishing man, that's just uh,
[40:11] Speaker 2: can they can they finish top four? Am I missing something? Yeah?
[40:15] Speaker 1: I mean that would be great.
[40:17] Speaker 2: Yeah, this is insane.
[40:19] Speaker 1: This sounds insane, but the NBA is so crazy.
[40:21] Speaker 2: That Yeah, the weird thing happened the Anthony Davis part.
[40:26] Speaker 2: Making fifty eight this year and then sixty two the
[40:30] Speaker 2: next year as a player option. That's a lot. Yeah,
[40:36] Speaker 2: the money wise, So you're trading Jimmy, I think you
[40:39] Speaker 2: have to Steph dre Bron and Anthony Davis.
[40:45] Speaker 1: Because when is Jimmy even like scheduled to be back.
[40:48] Speaker 1: He's not the start of the season. No, no, no, no,
[40:50] Speaker 1: he's even Yeah, I mean he maybe maybe later. This
[40:53] Speaker 1: is gonna be like a Tatum situation, is that we're sort.
[40:55] Speaker 2: Of looking at Yeah. I didn't think you're hoping.
[40:57] Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe not that late.
[40:58] Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think it's that long.
[41:00] Speaker 1: All right, we'll wait on this one. We'll have a
[41:02] Speaker 1: show of course tomorrow to we plan on doing a
[41:04] Speaker 1: free agency special right around the deadline, which is six
[41:08] Speaker 1: pm EASTERNS, so we'll probably go live around five thirty
[41:10] Speaker 1: or so. We did that last year. It worked out
[41:12] Speaker 1: pretty well, so it we'll do that. But let'll just
[41:15] Speaker 1: for now the lebron and the ad and the warriors
[41:17] Speaker 1: of it all will just set to the side. We'll
[41:19] Speaker 1: tell you a quick break and then we'll get into
[41:21] Speaker 1: the Sun's Hornets trade and many of the other transactions.
[41:26] Speaker 2: With FanDuel, you Stackio the dollars with your bet and
[41:31] Speaker 2: with his substitute. If you bet on Stefan, you Stachio
[41:34] Speaker 2: to score. Shut out to Stachio scoring for Canada and
[41:37] Speaker 2: Ali Ahmed comes in for him, your bet stands because
[41:42] Speaker 2: sometimes your player gets subbed off and your bet goes
[41:45] Speaker 2: with them. Not anymore with FanDuel's super sub if your
[41:49] Speaker 2: player subbed out, your bet stays in. Didn't even mention
[41:54] Speaker 2: Canada going to the quarter final round of sixteen. It's
[41:58] Speaker 2: not the quarterfinals. Don't get ahead of yourself.
[41:59] Speaker 1: Yeah, managed fields, we have shocked the world and beat
[42:02] Speaker 1: Netherlands or Morocco.
[42:04] Speaker 2: Netherlands Morocco? When they when did they kick off today?
[42:06] Speaker 2: I think so three? Anyways, it's coming anyway. Visit FanDuel
[42:10] Speaker 2: dot com to get started. Now. Let there be goals
[42:14] Speaker 2: this summer on FanDuel.
[42:15] Speaker 1: Let there be at least one goal for Canada. It's
[42:18] Speaker 1: all it took late extra time. It wasn't the prettiest
[42:22] Speaker 1: soccer game I've ever watched. I'll be honest, even as
[42:24] Speaker 1: a diehard Canadian the ball fan, it was you know,
[42:27] Speaker 1: they all played them. I think it was a deserved win. Yeah,
[42:30] Speaker 1: I agree, but it just wasn't the sexiest game. No,
[42:32] Speaker 1: even the goal, not that there was.
[42:34] Speaker 2: Okay, it was a giveaway, well I could giveaway no, No,
[42:38] Speaker 2: directly to your Stacio.
[42:39] Speaker 1: I was sort of dreading those thirty more minutes of
[42:41] Speaker 1: that those two teams because they were looking like they
[42:44] Speaker 1: were exhausted by the end two and there was not
[42:46] Speaker 1: a lot going on.
[42:47] Speaker 2: So they have a penalty kicks World Cup penalty kicks,
[42:50] Speaker 2: Like even if you didn't want that, people like that, I.
[42:53] Speaker 1: Like, have you heard the crazy idea about that? By
[42:55] Speaker 1: the way, what because they say once it does get
[42:58] Speaker 1: the extra time, like the teams do sort of like
[43:00] Speaker 1: nobody wants to make a mistake. Yeah, so they play
[43:03] Speaker 1: fairly reserved. There's a lot of just thirty minutes of
[43:05] Speaker 1: extra soccer played and not.
[43:07] Speaker 2: A lot of like goals scored.
[43:08] Speaker 1: Sure, I'm sure like the statistics back it up, but
[43:11] Speaker 1: people say, you end regulation it's obviously a tie you
[43:16] Speaker 1: then go right to penalty kicks. Okay, hear me out.
[43:20] Speaker 1: Then whoever wins said penalty kicks is up a goal
[43:26] Speaker 1: in the extra time, So it puts the pressure on
[43:28] Speaker 1: the team that is trailing to go balls to the
[43:30] Speaker 1: wall to try and obviously tie it back up. Now,
[43:33] Speaker 1: I don't know what happens when they just tie it
[43:34] Speaker 1: back up again. What do we do again? Just go
[43:36] Speaker 1: back to the penalty kicks? I'm not sure. Sound we
[43:38] Speaker 1: were talking about this?
[43:39] Speaker 2: Yeah, extra time definitely sounds more fun that crazy.
[43:42] Speaker 1: Yeah I know, I know, but also be very weird.
[43:45] Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, what you do after that? But hell, it's
[43:50] Speaker 2: better I do. Yeah, there's a little bit of a
[43:53] Speaker 2: prevent offense they play right, Yes.
[43:55] Speaker 1: Exactly, exactly. Well. I knew Canada was winning yesterday because
[43:58] Speaker 1: we had my buddy, your buddy already, Grisha in attendance
[44:03] Speaker 1: so far, Maddy Austin, Maddy, Oh himself in the building,
[44:07] Speaker 1: really John John the phenomenon. And then when I really
[44:12] Speaker 1: knew we were winning, Ben Gulliver sent me a photo
[44:15] Speaker 1: in the building rock in the Canada kit honorary Canadian
[44:20] Speaker 1: Ben Gulliver for the day. I was like, we're winning.
[44:22] Speaker 2: What a shock.
[44:23] Speaker 1: We got those fourid attendants.
[44:25] Speaker 2: Who's the most shocking that would be there? I think
[44:27] Speaker 2: it's Maddie Austin.
[44:28] Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, I mean Grish and John John were in
[44:30] Speaker 1: La met up for dinner. You know, Dave, He's like, oh,
[44:32] Speaker 1: we gotta get tickets, we gotta get tickets.
[44:35] Speaker 2: So they got Mattio to go yeah, oh silly. Yeah,
[44:39] Speaker 2: So he didn't like, he didn't actually go seek tickets.
[44:42] Speaker 2: He's just like, yeah, yeah, he paid for it. Cool.
[44:47] Speaker 1: It was still pretty penny to get into the buildings
[44:49] Speaker 1: they were up top. But that was a beautiful stadium too.
[44:52] Speaker 2: That's awesome. Yeah yeah. I like the low angle shots
[44:54] Speaker 2: after the game where you looks amazing.
[44:57] Speaker 1: Cool. All right, let's get to this tray. On Sunday,
[45:01] Speaker 1: the Charlotte Hornets agreed to trade Miles Bridges, a twenty
[45:05] Speaker 1: twenty nine first round pick and a twenty twenty seven
[45:07] Speaker 1: second round pick to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for
[45:11] Speaker 1: Grayson Allen Royce O'Neill and a two thousand and thirty
[45:14] Speaker 1: three first round pick. Tasks your reaction to this one.
[45:20] Speaker 1: Bridges go into Phoenix where we all assume he will
[45:24] Speaker 1: sign an extension. I'm not sure why you're trading a
[45:27] Speaker 1: two thousand and thirty three unprotected pick to not eventually
[45:30] Speaker 1: do that, but he's got one year left.
[45:31] Speaker 2: Yeah, what do you think about this? I think the
[45:34] Speaker 2: Hornets win this pick. Yeah, trade, no trade, excuse me? Yeah.
[45:39] Speaker 2: From the Sun's perspective, they get out of money. There's
[45:41] Speaker 2: two years left on both Grayson Allen and Royce O'Neill's contract.
[45:46] Speaker 2: They're done with that, so.
[45:47] Speaker 1: They get out of that money to then only give
[45:49] Speaker 1: money to Miles Bridges.
[45:51] Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, they have a lot of Yeah, yeah, that's
[45:54] Speaker 2: I definitely think the Charltt Hornets win it. They have
[45:56] Speaker 2: a lot of sort of in Phoenix, a lot of
[45:59] Speaker 2: standard average players, you know, they they want to try
[46:03] Speaker 2: and get a little bit better and in theory, you know,
[46:07] Speaker 2: as far as players go, getting Miles Bridges over Grayson
[46:11] Speaker 2: Allen and Royce O'Neil takes them there. But the Hornet's
[46:14] Speaker 2: got a better pick in this, the unprotected pick. While
[46:18] Speaker 2: there's that they sent to Phoenix. Some deal in here.
[46:22] Speaker 2: That twenty twenty nine first round pick that they sent
[46:24] Speaker 2: to Phoenix is the least favorable of the Jazz, Timberwolves
[46:28] Speaker 2: or Cavaliers. So the pick that Charlotte gets again unprotected.
[46:34] Speaker 2: Way better they get out of the guy that they
[46:36] Speaker 2: didn't want in Bridges because they've moved on. They've gone
[46:41] Speaker 2: to a different team after Lamellow and Bridges, they've gone
[46:44] Speaker 2: to this team. Look at this team that they have here,
[46:48] Speaker 2: Kobe White, Konkin Nipple, Brandon Miller, Nasried and Mussa Diabate
[46:51] Speaker 2: as your starters. Sure their bench now Trey Man, Sion,
[46:54] Speaker 2: James Grayson, Allen Royce O'Neil and then young guys like
[46:57] Speaker 2: Calc Brenner, Liam McNeely and Hannes stein Bok that they
[47:00] Speaker 2: just drafted pretty solid.
[47:03] Speaker 1: Solid Yeah, and they have a lot of draft capital too.
[47:06] Speaker 2: It wouldn't be surprising if they're very very similar to
[47:08] Speaker 2: last year even without LaMelo. They should be a five
[47:10] Speaker 2: hundred team. There's they I mentioned all that because of
[47:13] Speaker 2: their depth and it's it feels like it's more of
[47:17] Speaker 2: a modern NBA team because you want to, you know,
[47:19] Speaker 2: like like the old Spurs, like the current Thunder. You
[47:21] Speaker 2: want to roll out ten to eleven twelve guys. And this
[47:24] Speaker 2: team was a really really good regular season team, finishing
[47:26] Speaker 2: at forty four and thirty eight. I think they can
[47:28] Speaker 2: get there again. And as they'd say, forty four, but
[47:31] Speaker 2: they got to be a five hundred team they should be.
[47:33] Speaker 1: I think what happened here is the Hornets lined up
[47:35] Speaker 1: their best players and they realized, we're about half. We're
[47:39] Speaker 1: going to have to pay Miles Bridges with a new
[47:42] Speaker 1: contract here soon and LaMelo with the new extension that
[47:45] Speaker 1: obviously is around one hundred and twenty million dollars. And
[47:48] Speaker 1: they were like, f that, we'd rather go with kan
[47:51] Speaker 1: k Nipple and Brandon Miller as our best players and
[47:53] Speaker 1: the framework to build this team around. And I think
[47:55] Speaker 1: they made the right decision here. We'll see. I mean,
[47:58] Speaker 1: they just had a great year and they didn't make
[48:00] Speaker 1: the playoffs, but a really good year for them. But
[48:02] Speaker 1: that's what they're doing here. They're like, Ah, we don't
[48:04] Speaker 1: want to have to pay those guys, and then look,
[48:07] Speaker 1: we don't need to like dance around the situation here
[48:10] Speaker 1: with Miles Bridges either. The guy missed significant time when
[48:13] Speaker 1: he faced domestic violence and child abuse charges in twenty
[48:17] Speaker 1: twenty two. He played a no contest to fell A
[48:21] Speaker 1: Need domestic violence. I mean he assaulted his girlfriend in
[48:25] Speaker 1: front of like two children. There was another incident as well.
[48:27] Speaker 1: He did something reprehensible. He was punished both criminally, I
[48:33] Speaker 1: mean he had probation, he didn't go to jail, and
[48:36] Speaker 1: then by the league, right, he missed an entire season
[48:38] Speaker 1: because of this, and then I guess he missed another
[48:42] Speaker 1: was it ten games that rolled over in the next
[48:44] Speaker 1: season because they gave him like a thirty game suspension,
[48:46] Speaker 1: but they were like, well, you miss an entire season,
[48:48] Speaker 1: will count that as his twenty games, and then it
[48:49] Speaker 1: was another ten games the next year. Point is, it's
[48:52] Speaker 1: like up to you whether you think he deserves a second,
[48:55] Speaker 1: third chance or whatever here and how you feel about it.
[48:57] Speaker 1: I know there are a lot of Suns fans going,
[48:58] Speaker 1: what why do we trade for this piece of shit?
[49:01] Speaker 1: That's how they feel. Not everybody does. Again, people make mistakes.
[49:05] Speaker 1: This is one of the worst I think you can make.
[49:09] Speaker 1: Whether you're fine with it, but then you can do
[49:10] Speaker 1: what what about this guy? With a lot of guys
[49:12] Speaker 1: in this league and owners by the way, So that's
[49:15] Speaker 1: up to you. But I would not be happy I
[49:18] Speaker 1: of him fix Suns fan. So he's not very good either.
[49:21] Speaker 1: It's the other problem.
[49:23] Speaker 2: Yeah, he's enough basketball wise, he's an upgrade on Grayson
[49:27] Speaker 2: Allen and Royce O'Neil. That being said, you know, he said,
[49:31] Speaker 2: one of the worst things you can do. He has
[49:32] Speaker 2: a disgusting act. Back then, it took the NBA, if
[49:35] Speaker 2: I'm not mistaken, a while to enforce that suspension. It
[49:40] Speaker 2: was a we're waiting, We're waiting, We're waiting, and it
[49:43] Speaker 2: sure feels like the Hornets are just moving on from
[49:46] Speaker 2: him and from LaMelo Ball as he said, who was
[49:49] Speaker 2: signed to two more years. LaMelo had a contract and
[49:53] Speaker 2: so it wasn't like it wasn't soon, you know, it
[49:55] Speaker 2: wasn't as soon as Miles.
[49:58] Speaker 1: But extension eligible though, is the problem here.
[50:00] Speaker 2: Right, just like Bridges will be Yeah three excuse me,
[50:02] Speaker 2: Omelo's got three years left, right, So it's different. They
[50:08] Speaker 2: wanted to move on from Miles Bridges.
[50:10] Speaker 1: This is a different and the Sons have wanted this
[50:12] Speaker 1: guy for a couple of years. It sounds like, and
[50:15] Speaker 1: why they love guys that went to Michigan State. Oh right,
[50:19] Speaker 1: they got all I mean, their owner at Ashbia, their
[50:23] Speaker 1: coach Jordan Not their general manager Brian Gregrey. They all
[50:27] Speaker 1: spent years at Michigan State. Yeah, yeah, so there's a
[50:29] Speaker 1: part of that. I think here with Miles Bridges and
[50:31] Speaker 1: they're infatuation with them.
[50:33] Speaker 2: That's true.
[50:34] Speaker 1: This team, I mean, I thought they made some nice moves.
[50:36] Speaker 1: We debated. They're just running it back. But like, this
[50:40] Speaker 1: was not a.
[50:41] Speaker 2: Very good trade.
[50:41] Speaker 1: I do not think no at all, because I don't
[50:43] Speaker 1: think it moves the needle all that much in the
[50:45] Speaker 1: Western Conference and you're just going to be paying them.
[50:48] Speaker 2: And this pick, Yeah, they traded a better pick. It
[50:52] Speaker 2: doesn't make a lot of sense totally. What you said
[50:54] Speaker 2: was when you said they're going to run it back. Yeah,
[50:56] Speaker 2: that's exactly the way it looked. But now a lot
[51:00] Speaker 2: room that excelled. You bring in this new part instead
[51:04] Speaker 2: of Grayson Allen and Royce O'Neil, you take a a
[51:10] Speaker 2: downfall on the draft pick as well. Doesn't make a
[51:13] Speaker 2: lot of sense to me.
[51:13] Speaker 1: Now they may not be done. There's a lot of
[51:15] Speaker 1: Jail and Green trade rumors. That's a potential. Maybe John
[51:21] Speaker 1: Morant landing spot Phoenix could be. I mean, you could
[51:25] Speaker 1: get there with Jail and Green and John Morant being
[51:28] Speaker 1: swapped if if Grizzlies are that desperate to get out
[51:30] Speaker 1: of the Jahn Morant business.
[51:31] Speaker 2: And maybe it's.
[51:33] Speaker 1: But like man this team around Booker what I just
[51:35] Speaker 1: don't know really what they're doing. There's not a lot
[51:36] Speaker 1: of playmaking around him. There's not a lot of shooting
[51:38] Speaker 1: around him. I mean, some of your best shooters are
[51:41] Speaker 1: now gone and the Hornets had them like it's I mean,
[51:44] Speaker 1: there's one thing they did here. I saw Hollandrew note this.
[51:47] Speaker 1: The Sons can now trade the twenty twenty eight first
[51:49] Speaker 1: round pick that they've already swapped twice and it's the
[51:53] Speaker 1: least valuable of Brooklyn, Philadelphia and Washington. So that pick
[51:57] Speaker 1: and then a bunch of second rounders are all the
[51:59] Speaker 1: picks they can try moving forward here to like up
[52:02] Speaker 1: till twenty thirty three. So maybe they're not done, but
[52:08] Speaker 1: this is adding Miles Bridge to your team and then
[52:10] Speaker 1: having to pay them, which they will.
[52:12] Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the mistake because the Sun's made a mistake
[52:14] Speaker 2: here because yeah, they may have said, let's do something
[52:17] Speaker 2: in terms of an upgrade in their eyes to get
[52:20] Speaker 2: better here because we had our good season, are we
[52:23] Speaker 2: just going to run it back? And maybe there was
[52:25] Speaker 2: a little little itch they had to scratch there, but
[52:28] Speaker 2: it was it's totally a mistake because you've got this
[52:31] Speaker 2: steady team. Everything's cooking, and you've got money coming off
[52:35] Speaker 2: the books next year. In Dylan Brooks you may want
[52:38] Speaker 2: to bring back, but.
[52:40] Speaker 1: They might sign him to an extension though too.
[52:41] Speaker 2: Yeah, and the problem is after that, now if you're
[52:45] Speaker 2: gonna have to re sign Miles Bridges after letting go
[52:49] Speaker 2: waving Bradley Beal even a here a little that costs
[52:55] Speaker 2: you money on the books for years and years. So
[52:58] Speaker 2: I feel like this is just scratching an itch's need
[53:00] Speaker 2: to be scratched. And now you're going to end up
[53:02] Speaker 2: with what you had looking forward to this season with
[53:07] Speaker 2: oh or bring the same thing. You're going to do
[53:09] Speaker 2: that in your twenty twenty nine where you're gonna have
[53:13] Speaker 2: you're gonna be having Booker and Miles Bridges as your
[53:16] Speaker 2: two highest paid guys. It doesn't really make a lot
[53:20] Speaker 2: of sense to me. I think it's a bit of
[53:21] Speaker 2: a step back.
[53:22] Speaker 1: And they've got, like they do have some younger talent
[53:25] Speaker 1: that you also wonder if it's being sort of like
[53:27] Speaker 1: obviously pushed down the pecking order here when you make
[53:30] Speaker 1: a move like this, like they seem high on Fleming
[53:32] Speaker 1: and there's is Malawatchez obviously their center, like very raw center.
[53:36] Speaker 1: Like their starting lineup right now would be Booker Green
[53:39] Speaker 1: Brooks if he's there, Dylan Brooks, Miles Bridges at the four,
[53:43] Speaker 1: and Mark Williams.
[53:44] Speaker 2: That does not excite me all that much. Really. Yeah, again,
[53:49] Speaker 2: I do think it is a bit of an upgrade,
[53:51] Speaker 2: though I don't want to. I think it's a bad
[53:54] Speaker 2: move long term, short term him instead of Grays and
[53:59] Speaker 2: Allen and Royce O'Neil. But in a locker room, you're
[54:04] Speaker 2: messing things that, you're changing things, and then you're handcuffing
[54:07] Speaker 2: yourself for years, most likely after you signed Miles Bridges.
[54:10] Speaker 1: What's he going to get He's going to be eligible
[54:13] Speaker 1: for an extent. It's like three years eighty nine million,
[54:15] Speaker 1: three years ninety million.
[54:16] Speaker 2: About that? Yeah, probably about that?
[54:18] Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, Well, let's hear your thoughts on that trade.
[54:21] Speaker 1: That was the one trade that went down this weekend,
[54:22] Speaker 1: actually one of two. We'll get to the other minor
[54:24] Speaker 1: one in a second here. But Isaiah Hartenstein in the
[54:26] Speaker 1: Thunder agreed to a three year, seventy five million dollars
[54:29] Speaker 1: contract extension. Tasks your thoughts here on Hartenstein, this extension,
[54:34] Speaker 1: dropping his salary by about five million for the coming season,
[54:38] Speaker 1: So it's helping the Thunder maybe try and get under
[54:41] Speaker 1: the second apron. Still a move to make if they.
[54:43] Speaker 2: Want to do that. Good for the Thunder to bring
[54:45] Speaker 2: it back, they need him in the middle, simple as
[54:48] Speaker 2: that Chet was not excellent in the playoffs. But besides that,
[54:53] Speaker 2: I mean besides Chet against Wemby, they need to bring
[54:58] Speaker 2: back the same starting lineup as the they always do.
[55:01] Speaker 2: Good for them. They've got three guys that are signed
[55:03] Speaker 2: for four years and Shade, Jalen Williams and Chet, And
[55:06] Speaker 2: they've got two guys for three years the Hertenstein contract
[55:08] Speaker 2: and Caruso. Today they got to decide on Dort's team option,
[55:13] Speaker 2: and then beyond that it's Cason Wallace, the other Jalen Williams,
[55:16] Speaker 2: Jared McCain, aj mitchell A, Dine Mara, Nikolotopich and Thomas Sorber.
[55:23] Speaker 2: Here they are, They're coming back and they have to.
[55:25] Speaker 2: They had to do that. I think Hartenstein is a
[55:27] Speaker 2: bit of their glue. Things are looking good there.
[55:32] Speaker 1: They still can get under the second apron by declining
[55:34] Speaker 1: Dort's team option or by picking it up and trading
[55:37] Speaker 1: them Dorts in a lot of like Lakers trade rumors
[55:39] Speaker 1: here right now. Holl Anders says. Another option is they
[55:43] Speaker 1: could trade recent draft picks in Topitch and Sorber and
[55:47] Speaker 1: decline Kenrich Williams team option and you can get under
[55:50] Speaker 1: the second apron that way as well. But the long
[55:53] Speaker 1: and short of it is what looked like it was
[55:56] Speaker 1: going to be an insane tax bill. They've done pretty
[55:59] Speaker 1: good work here. I say good work. They had to
[56:01] Speaker 1: trade good players, but look, you're a good team and
[56:03] Speaker 1: you got a lot of them, getting like whatever second
[56:06] Speaker 1: round picks back for Wiggins and then we'll get to
[56:08] Speaker 1: Joe in a second here. But you got to do
[56:11] Speaker 1: that if you want to keep your top end talent
[56:12] Speaker 1: together and try and stay on the second aprint so
[56:14] Speaker 1: he can make moves as you move forward here. So, yeah,
[56:16] Speaker 1: this is good work, and you're right, he's important. He
[56:18] Speaker 1: showed that he was extremely important to their their success
[56:22] Speaker 1: over the last couple of years since they got him.
[56:24] Speaker 1: So and they get him a pretty good deal. I mean,
[56:27] Speaker 1: he honestly is almost doing them a favor here. I
[56:29] Speaker 1: think he is doing them a favor. I think he's
[56:32] Speaker 1: actually worth more on the market than this.
[56:34] Speaker 2: But you think he loves it there, Yeah, you know,
[56:38] Speaker 2: they did him, they kind of they paid high when
[56:40] Speaker 2: they got him from the Knicks in comparison, like he
[56:44] Speaker 2: didn't he didn't play that type of role. But here
[56:46] Speaker 2: he's excelling well. And you know, by some reports, it's hard,
[56:51] Speaker 2: it's hard to know what's reidal on the internet. Kendrick
[56:53] Speaker 2: Williams team option was declined a week ago. We were
[56:57] Speaker 2: on here.
[56:57] Speaker 1: Oh was it?
[56:58] Speaker 2: No? But I don't think that's letely confirmed. But all
[57:01] Speaker 2: around we're here at the desk when that happened. The
[57:04] Speaker 2: rumors said that, but TBD.
[57:06] Speaker 1: Not officially, not official. No, the Pistons landed sharpshooter. Isaiah Joe,
[57:12] Speaker 1: Where did you come from? Where did you go? Well,
[57:14] Speaker 1: you went to Detroit and that was a trade obviously
[57:17] Speaker 1: with the Thunder. So your thoughts on Isaiah Joe, excuse me?
[57:21] Speaker 1: Going to Detroit?
[57:24] Speaker 2: Yeah, the Thunder obviously from their perspective, Hey got to
[57:27] Speaker 2: cut this guy. The Detroit Pistons they need desperately, they
[57:32] Speaker 2: needed a shooter and so he comes off the bench.
[57:35] Speaker 2: They have such an interesting off season because what is
[57:37] Speaker 2: this team going to become. Kevin Hurder is a free agent,
[57:43] Speaker 2: so you think, okay, Isiajoe basically took his spot. Kevin
[57:46] Speaker 2: Herder experiment never really worked out. Tobias Aris. Also free
[57:49] Speaker 2: agent Isaua Stewart was traded away. They've got team options
[57:52] Speaker 2: on Danis Jenkins, run holl And, Marcus Saster and the
[57:54] Speaker 2: sar Thompson team option extension eligible. So that's interesting there.
[57:59] Speaker 2: It's a good addition, but they got to get better,
[58:01] Speaker 2: even better than what this is. They have so much
[58:04] Speaker 2: money available because of sar Thompson not paid a lot
[58:08] Speaker 2: the Jalen Duran extension, which is still bound to happen here,
[58:12] Speaker 2: they can bring in a lot of parts to replace
[58:16] Speaker 2: either Tobias Harris or just bring on somebody who can score,
[58:20] Speaker 2: or Duncan Robinson.
[58:21] Speaker 1: Yeah, if he's not there.
[58:22] Speaker 2: So this is Duncan. Is Duncan under contract?
[58:26] Speaker 1: I thought he was, Yeah, but there's rumors that he
[58:28] Speaker 1: could be okay squeezed here, but we'll see. I mean, look,
[58:32] Speaker 1: I'm with you that they were one of the worst
[58:33] Speaker 1: three point shooting teams in the league and they added
[58:36] Speaker 1: one of the better guys, especially in a bench roll,
[58:38] Speaker 1: in Isaiah Joe. That's one thing this guy can do,
[58:41] Speaker 1: and he does it well. Hit two and a half
[58:43] Speaker 1: threes in just under twenty one minutes per game. He's
[58:46] Speaker 1: a career forty one percent three point shooter. And again
[58:49] Speaker 1: the Pistons, they had Duncan Robinson and they had Kate Cunningham,
[58:52] Speaker 1: and like, outside of that, nobody was like a high
[58:54] Speaker 1: volume three point shooter because guess what happened one of
[58:57] Speaker 1: their guys he got caught up in illegal gambling activity
[59:00] Speaker 1: in Malik Beasley. I mean, this guy was awesome for
[59:02] Speaker 1: them and then suddenly was not allowed to play in
[59:04] Speaker 1: the league. We learned more about that too. Malik Beasley
[59:07] Speaker 1: has been indicted on federal charges for gambling related to
[59:10] Speaker 1: a sports betting scheme such as point shaving and prop bets.
[59:13] Speaker 1: This is what his attorney was telling Sean's here this morning.
[59:15] Speaker 1: So the government is coordinating a voluntary surrender of Beasley
[59:18] Speaker 1: this week, so as a sort of all goes together
[59:22] Speaker 1: here because that's Beasley was an important piece and a
[59:24] Speaker 1: three point shooter, and then he was gone and we saw, like, ooh, man,
[59:27] Speaker 1: they need a high volume three point shooter, so they're
[59:29] Speaker 1: trying to get one here and Joe and a good
[59:31] Speaker 1: job for only two what second round picks?
[59:34] Speaker 2: Yeah, and Malik Beasley was a but to sign a
[59:37] Speaker 2: big contract right before that, so unfortunate it was there,
[59:42] Speaker 2: and the Pistons are looking to fix things up when
[59:46] Speaker 2: Leik Beasley didn't come back. They also went and signed
[59:48] Speaker 2: Carousel Vert sort of as their playmaker, kind of replacing
[59:51] Speaker 2: Dennis Shrewder there. That hasn't worked out all that well.
[59:56] Speaker 2: They made the Jane and Ivy trade to go get
[59:59] Speaker 2: Kevin Hurder that hasn't worked out extremely well. So, yeah,
[1:00:01] Speaker 2: this is an interesting time.
[1:00:03] Speaker 1: Will you be happy if this is sort of all
[1:00:07] Speaker 1: the Pistons do so to speak this offseason, Like they
[1:00:10] Speaker 1: bring back Jellen Duran on whatever contract they agree to,
[1:00:13] Speaker 1: they make this move for Isaiah Joe. Let's say, you know,
[1:00:16] Speaker 1: Tobias Harris, Duncan Rominson one of them still there. You know,
[1:00:19] Speaker 1: like if that's sort of it, you don't love it.
[1:00:21] Speaker 1: You want more shooting, more playmaking, because that's what Isaia
[1:00:24] Speaker 1: Jo doesn't do that.
[1:00:25] Speaker 2: No, he does not.
[1:00:26] Speaker 1: I mean I don't think we can. I don't think he.
[1:00:27] Speaker 2: Can do that.
[1:00:28] Speaker 1: No, maybe it gets more of an opportunity to do it.
[1:00:30] Speaker 1: But that guy just a shooter. He's a play finisher,
[1:00:31] Speaker 1: not a play starter.
[1:00:32] Speaker 2: Yeah, he's not much of a driver. That's why the
[1:00:35] Speaker 2: Thunder said, we can let go you. Jared McCain essentially
[1:00:41] Speaker 2: took Isaiah Joe's spot. Is what a great pickup that was,
[1:00:44] Speaker 2: because that guy can drive. They trade away Aaron Wiggins,
[1:00:47] Speaker 2: while the Pistons, I think if right now, if they're desperate,
[1:00:52] Speaker 2: they bring back to Bias Harris, but their starting lineup
[1:00:54] Speaker 2: is essentially the same, and they let go Isaiah Stewart
[1:00:57] Speaker 2: and they bring back or they bring in Isaiah Joe.
[1:01:00] Speaker 2: I think I'm taking the Miami Heat in a series
[1:01:03] Speaker 2: over that may maybe I'm just a recentcy Bias type
[1:01:05] Speaker 2: of guy, but I think the Pistons will still be
[1:01:07] Speaker 2: good in the regular season like they were. When it
[1:01:09] Speaker 2: comes to the playoffs, I'm banking on Giannis being able
[1:01:15] Speaker 2: in a healthy team. Yeah, he's got to be healthy.
[1:01:17] Speaker 2: If they're healthy against the Detroit Pistons, Yeah, they need score.
[1:01:19] Speaker 1: That's funny brought up that team because Norman Powell could
[1:01:23] Speaker 1: be on one of those two teams. Yeah. Does he
[1:01:25] Speaker 1: stay with Miami or is he He's one that's been
[1:01:27] Speaker 1: linked as a sort of obviously a guy that can
[1:01:29] Speaker 1: score to Detroit.
[1:01:32] Speaker 2: Yeah, but then you're taking a risk Norman Powell over
[1:01:36] Speaker 2: Tobias Harris. That's a risk because Obias is a free agent.
[1:01:39] Speaker 2: Would you rather have Norman Powell who's injured, a great,
[1:01:42] Speaker 2: great player, but he can't do it for six months?
[1:01:46] Speaker 2: I don't think so that's a question. Yeah, it is
[1:01:48] Speaker 2: unfortunate here. The Pistons are. They got parts moving here.
[1:01:51] Speaker 2: I thought I thought Andrew Wiggins would be the guy
[1:01:54] Speaker 2: and hopefully he would be a you know, back to
[1:01:58] Speaker 2: old DeAndre or Andrew Wiggins. But it's like that that
[1:02:02] Speaker 2: was my bar. Do they need a score somebody? I mean,
[1:02:06] Speaker 2: they should go all in on Trey Murphy. That's the team.
[1:02:09] Speaker 1: It should be like they should push all their chips
[1:02:11] Speaker 1: in draft capital in.
[1:02:12] Speaker 2: Yeah, it could be awesome, I think for them. Yeah,
[1:02:15] Speaker 2: and they're they're pushing. I'm sure they're they're trying to
[1:02:17] Speaker 2: get somebody.
[1:02:18] Speaker 1: I imagine other minor NBA transaction news here. A lot
[1:02:22] Speaker 1: of option stuff here, So we'll go at these one
[1:02:24] Speaker 1: at a time. Rockets guard Fred Van Vliet, opting into
[1:02:27] Speaker 1: his twenty five million dollar player option for the twenty
[1:02:29] Speaker 1: six twenty seven season, tasks so vi in Vliet on
[1:02:32] Speaker 1: the books. Houston has about twenty million dollars here to
[1:02:34] Speaker 1: resign Tarry Easton and fill out the rest of the
[1:02:37] Speaker 1: roster before reaching the first apron.
[1:02:39] Speaker 2: But were you.
[1:02:41] Speaker 1: Shocked at all by Freddy Steady Freddy picking up the
[1:02:43] Speaker 1: option here.
[1:02:44] Speaker 2: Just five million? Fred wants to be a starting point
[1:02:47] Speaker 2: guard with Kevin Durant beside him coming on back. I
[1:02:50] Speaker 2: was a good contract that they signed him to before
[1:02:52] Speaker 2: twenty four or twenty five, twenty six, I should say
[1:02:55] Speaker 2: two years, fifty million dollars and listen. I tuned in
[1:03:00] Speaker 2: to Unguarded by Fred van Vliet in his podcast. I thought, Okay,
[1:03:03] Speaker 2: maybe he's coming back. Maybe he's coming back, but he
[1:03:06] Speaker 2: did not, and so he just wants to come back.
[1:03:08] Speaker 2: Good for him, Good for the Rockets.
[1:03:10] Speaker 1: Kings guard Zach Levine also, you won't believe this opting
[1:03:14] Speaker 1: into his forty nine million dollar player option. Yeah, I'll
[1:03:19] Speaker 1: always be picking that one up.
[1:03:20] Speaker 2: Kangs be the Kangs. It's the same team they're bringing back,
[1:03:24] Speaker 2: right with.
[1:03:24] Speaker 1: Some yeah, obviously a cuff their future hopefully right and
[1:03:28] Speaker 1: still figuring out.
[1:03:29] Speaker 2: What to do with the Rosen and maybe Si bonus
[1:03:32] Speaker 2: and oh yeah, yeah, they're paying a lot of guys
[1:03:36] Speaker 2: and Keegan Murray Malik monk. They're numbers wise. I'm not
[1:03:42] Speaker 2: the number. I'm not the salary numbers guys. But they're
[1:03:44] Speaker 2: already paying two hundred million dollars to two players, and
[1:03:47] Speaker 2: they're going to be shanky. Okay.
[1:03:50] Speaker 1: James Harden is declining his forty two point three million
[1:03:53] Speaker 1: dollar player option for next season, but he and the
[1:03:55] Speaker 1: Cavs are working together on a new deal. We had
[1:03:57] Speaker 1: expected this, we had talked about this. I think they're
[1:04:00] Speaker 1: thinking the year yearly salary will drop to around the
[1:04:03] Speaker 1: twenty eight to thirty million dollar range, be it two
[1:04:07] Speaker 1: or three years, I don't know, player option or something
[1:04:10] Speaker 1: like that. I think that's where they'll probably come together on.
[1:04:14] Speaker 1: If I'm a guessing, if I'm a betanscuse me.
[1:04:16] Speaker 2: Sure. It seems like they made the trade four months ago.
[1:04:20] Speaker 2: The plan was to keep James Harden around, and so
[1:04:22] Speaker 2: they're going to come to that deal and hopefully he
[1:04:24] Speaker 2: can buy a safe storage for his weapon. Did you
[1:04:29] Speaker 2: see the misdemeanor charge that he that he was hit
[1:04:32] Speaker 2: was recently, Yes, and Houston kind of flew under the radar.
[1:04:35] Speaker 2: He was in Houston and uh yeah, misdemeanor charge of
[1:04:38] Speaker 2: unlawful carrying of a weapon in a motor vehicle. Okay, Yeah,
[1:04:42] Speaker 2: Unfortunately all these.
[1:04:44] Speaker 1: Guys that get traded, what we're seeing here is like
[1:04:47] Speaker 1: nine percent of the time the extension is going to
[1:04:49] Speaker 1: be signed, new contract is going to be signed because
[1:04:51] Speaker 1: they've talked about it in advance with their agents. The
[1:04:54] Speaker 1: new team acquiring said player at trade. Do you know
[1:04:57] Speaker 1: what I mean?
[1:04:57] Speaker 2: Especially if you so many of these, especially if your
[1:05:01] Speaker 2: year is done months later, you know what I mean,
[1:05:04] Speaker 2: if your contract is done, like Anthony Davis was rumored
[1:05:07] Speaker 2: to be extended, We're going to be extended by the
[1:05:10] Speaker 2: Washington Wizards. That hasn't that's true, but he has a
[1:05:12] Speaker 2: full year guaranteed after that. Harden makes sense.
[1:05:16] Speaker 1: A couple other ones just breaking right now. Seam says,
[1:05:20] Speaker 1: DeAndre Ayton is opting into his eight point one million
[1:05:23] Speaker 1: dollar player option with the Lakers.
[1:05:26] Speaker 2: Yeah, the Lakers were looking to get Isaiah Stewart, but
[1:05:29] Speaker 2: they were beat by the Memphis Grizzlies, who had second
[1:05:31] Speaker 2: round picks to give to Detroit and so this this
[1:05:38] Speaker 2: is a separate deal. But DeAndre and come back after
[1:05:41] Speaker 2: having a good year. Was he going to get more
[1:05:44] Speaker 2: money elsewhere as a free agent? I don't know. Maybe
[1:05:52] Speaker 2: maybe not. I mean he was solid last year. Yeah, solid, Yeah,
[1:05:56] Speaker 2: he was solid.
[1:05:57] Speaker 1: Well another center Net center droon Sharp to sign a
[1:06:00] Speaker 1: new two year, twenty million dollar deal to return to
[1:06:03] Speaker 1: the Brooklyn Nets. So you know, they made the move
[1:06:05] Speaker 1: to get off of Nick Claxton, and we said they
[1:06:08] Speaker 1: believe Sharp is their center here. So he gets a
[1:06:11] Speaker 1: very affordable I think a team option there too. No
[1:06:14] Speaker 1: Nets decline Sharp's team option to do the new contract.
[1:06:16] Speaker 2: Are you going, we'll see if you grow as a player. Yeah,
[1:06:19] Speaker 2: that's how he got there.
[1:06:21] Speaker 1: You're not the biggest fan.
[1:06:23] Speaker 2: Just if he can grow, it's fine. He's got to
[1:06:24] Speaker 2: get better.
[1:06:26] Speaker 1: Mamu. Yeah, Raptors big man declining his two point eight
[1:06:29] Speaker 1: million dollars player option. He's going to test free agency here,
[1:06:31] Speaker 1: so he him and his obviously his agency. I think
[1:06:34] Speaker 1: it's priority sports. They're like, oh yeah, there's like suddenly
[1:06:37] Speaker 1: like this strong developing market for Mamu where a lot
[1:06:41] Speaker 1: of teams are like, oh, we could use a guy
[1:06:42] Speaker 1: like that. And after we saw it. I mean, he
[1:06:44] Speaker 1: had a really good start to the Raptors. I think
[1:06:46] Speaker 1: it sort of trailed off as season went on, but
[1:06:49] Speaker 1: good for him. I think he's timing this well.
[1:06:51] Speaker 2: Here, yeah, right, undersized backup center seeming seemingly has become
[1:06:56] Speaker 2: more prominent in the NBA. But he lost his job
[1:07:01] Speaker 2: when Colin Murray Boyles was better in the playoffs. So
[1:07:06] Speaker 2: he should go get his money, DeAndre, and I think
[1:07:09] Speaker 2: should go get it. It should have gone and gotten his money.
[1:07:11] Speaker 2: I think you gotta got paid more. But congratulations, as
[1:07:14] Speaker 2: you said prior to sports Mark Bartolstein.
[1:07:17] Speaker 1: And George Bartelstein season Baby and.
[1:07:19] Speaker 2: George Russaki's a Greek.
[1:07:22] Speaker 1: Wow.
[1:07:22] Speaker 2: It sure feels like as the agents when you get
[1:07:26] Speaker 2: a double agent mentioned god, sometimes a triple agent. These
[1:07:30] Speaker 2: guys have so many agents.
[1:07:31] Speaker 1: Yeah, it's the Sham's way of breaking is a little
[1:07:35] Speaker 1: eye rolling at times. What was the one that was
[1:07:39] Speaker 1: something came through over the weekend and people were like, oh,
[1:07:42] Speaker 1: I think it was the Hertenstein. Did you see how
[1:07:44] Speaker 1: that one was worded? It was batchit crazy how he
[1:07:47] Speaker 1: worded it, because it was like, get to the point,
[1:07:50] Speaker 1: what is the deal? But it was like he has
[1:07:52] Speaker 1: now made in his one hundred and twenty five million,
[1:07:55] Speaker 1: Like it was so convoluted and it was so obviously
[1:07:58] Speaker 1: like the the agents gave it to him, and that's
[1:08:02] Speaker 1: his title, all these things, and how he gets all
[1:08:03] Speaker 1: this news.
[1:08:04] Speaker 2: I get it.
[1:08:04] Speaker 1: You gotta play the game. But I don't know, man,
[1:08:07] Speaker 1: Just tell us what the hell it was that one
[1:08:09] Speaker 1: was infuriating.
[1:08:10] Speaker 2: This is the one you're talking about, just in Oklahoma
[1:08:13] Speaker 2: City is Isaiah Hartenstein intends to sign a new three
[1:08:16] Speaker 2: year contract to return to the Thunder through twenty eight
[1:08:18] Speaker 2: twenty nine. That brings his total earnings with the franchise
[1:08:21] Speaker 2: at five years on one hundred and thirty four million
[1:08:23] Speaker 2: guaranteed sources TELEESPN sign twenty twenty four, leading to the
[1:08:26] Speaker 2: twenty twenty five I do like though that the agent
[1:08:31] Speaker 2: mentioned comes in a second tweek quite.
[1:08:33] Speaker 1: Oft WOA, you know, not all the time?
[1:08:36] Speaker 2: Then then the second tweek comes in Hartenstein and his
[1:08:39] Speaker 2: reps Andrew Morrison and Aaron Mints of CIA's Sports. Yeah,
[1:08:44] Speaker 2: so sometimes you got to click the more like I
[1:08:47] Speaker 2: didn't even finish reading, leading to the twenty twenty five
[1:08:50] Speaker 2: Championships under lock in the defensive anchor cool.
[1:08:53] Speaker 1: He always adds a little flavor there. Again, whatever the
[1:08:56] Speaker 1: agent said to like, spruce this up a little bit,
[1:08:58] Speaker 1: make it sound great. Alvarado returning to the Knicks on
[1:09:01] Speaker 1: a new three year, fourteen million dollar ish deal. The
[1:09:05] Speaker 1: Celtics are resigning Ron Harper Junior to a three year
[1:09:08] Speaker 1: nine million dollar deal. The Wolves are keeping Jaal and
[1:09:10] Speaker 1: Clark on a three year ten million dollar deal. I
[1:09:13] Speaker 1: got a few others anything related to those twos.
[1:09:15] Speaker 2: Well, the next side with Alvarado coming back, the interesting
[1:09:19] Speaker 2: part is are they bringing the team back? Alvarado back
[1:09:22] Speaker 2: a good deal. But James Dolan was on the Carton
[1:09:26] Speaker 2: Show and he said that I can't go into the
[1:09:30] Speaker 2: second apron it's suicidal. And so does that mean Mitchell
[1:09:34] Speaker 2: Robinson is too expensive to come back? And Landry Shammon
[1:09:36] Speaker 2: it's too expensive to come back? Those two alongside with
[1:09:40] Speaker 2: Josey Alvarado, those were the three parts.
[1:09:42] Speaker 1: So one done, but what about the other two?
[1:09:45] Speaker 2: Yea.
[1:09:46] Speaker 1: The Orlando Magic waved forward Jonathan Isaac on Saturday. Isaac
[1:09:51] Speaker 1: remember him?
[1:09:52] Speaker 2: It's all done? Yeah? Yeah, that was this. This is
[1:09:57] Speaker 2: getting into the weed. It's getting a little geeky here.
[1:09:59] Speaker 2: But million partially guaranteed on the books for next season
[1:10:02] Speaker 2: that they have to pay right, that's being paid. And
[1:10:05] Speaker 2: in March they pushed back the fully guaranteed number of
[1:10:07] Speaker 2: fourteen and a half million for twenty six, twenty seven
[1:10:10] Speaker 2: back to June twenty eighth instead of fifty two games,
[1:10:12] Speaker 2: which he eventually got to, so that money was not paid.
[1:10:16] Speaker 2: In the end, he missed out on six and a
[1:10:17] Speaker 2: half million. Yeah, that's just some geeky number stuff. But
[1:10:21] Speaker 2: it feels like it's over for Jonathan Isaac as an over. Well,
[1:10:25] Speaker 2: like I said, I mean that he got he was
[1:10:28] Speaker 2: injured to finish the season, and so yes, I mean
[1:10:31] Speaker 2: it over in terms of.
[1:10:32] Speaker 1: I mean elite defensive players still.
[1:10:34] Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's but they would have it. Yeah, this
[1:10:37] Speaker 2: is to save money. But it just feels like it's
[1:10:40] Speaker 2: over in terms of Jonathan Isaac at the full possibility
[1:10:43] Speaker 2: that we're all sort of watching. Yes, great defensive player,
[1:10:47] Speaker 2: so why isn't he He hasn't been able to play
[1:10:50] Speaker 2: and the Orlando Magic didn't unleash him because he wasn't
[1:10:54] Speaker 2: able to stick on the floor for many minutes. So
[1:10:57] Speaker 2: that's what's over. And he's done in Orlando, who have
[1:11:02] Speaker 2: to save money because of all these contracts that they've
[1:11:04] Speaker 2: got to Baine and Bronze and bron Carrow.
[1:11:08] Speaker 1: So this is Yeah, he only played for the Orlando Magic.
[1:11:12] Speaker 1: I would get ready to see Jonathan Isaac bouncing around
[1:11:15] Speaker 1: the NBA here for the next second part of his career.
[1:11:18] Speaker 2: Older than I.
[1:11:18] Speaker 1: Right, he's twenty eight, right, yeah, yeah, now nearly twenty nine.
[1:11:23] Speaker 1: He'll be twenty nine by the start next season, so yeah,
[1:11:25] Speaker 1: little older and I thought too, I mean, missed two.
[1:11:26] Speaker 2: Years, two full seasons, so I have a.
[1:11:29] Speaker 1: Feeling he's gonna be one of these guys. It's just
[1:11:30] Speaker 1: gonna be on a lot of rosters here moving forward.
[1:11:32] Speaker 1: They'll be like there's a need, Like he's obviously a
[1:11:34] Speaker 1: defensive mining guy, incredible timing and length and all that,
[1:11:38] Speaker 1: but yeah, he's a liability on the offensive. Then and
[1:11:41] Speaker 1: then final piece of news here, the Hawks are also
[1:11:46] Speaker 1: guaranteeing Buddy Heal's yeah, nine point sixty five million dollars
[1:11:50] Speaker 1: salary for this coming season. This is a little perplexing
[1:11:53] Speaker 1: because he was not played at all after they acquired
[1:11:56] Speaker 1: him basically from Golden State at the trade deadline. So
[1:12:00] Speaker 1: a lot of people are going, is there a trade
[1:12:02] Speaker 1: coming from the Hawks here? Like this is why you
[1:12:04] Speaker 1: sort of, you know, guarantee this money basically ten million,
[1:12:08] Speaker 1: let's call it, because he could be rerouted in a
[1:12:12] Speaker 1: trade and that's ten million you can use to obviously
[1:12:14] Speaker 1: match salary and stuff like that.
[1:12:16] Speaker 2: So a lot of people are wondering, are the Hawks
[1:12:18] Speaker 2: not done or they got up their sleeve here? Yeah,
[1:12:21] Speaker 2: the best it is odd, it's odd. It's surprising. Yeah.
[1:12:24] Speaker 2: The best thing he did with as an Atlanta Hawk
[1:12:26] Speaker 2: was shoot that one game. It was the eighty second
[1:12:29] Speaker 2: game of the season. He shot eighteen times thirty one points.
[1:12:33] Speaker 2: He was on fire at seven threes. Other than that,
[1:12:36] Speaker 2: it is surprising that he would be coming back any buddy.
[1:12:38] Speaker 1: Heils great for vibes. Yeah, he's not a vibe killer. No,
[1:12:41] Speaker 1: I think that's good. But like to pay him and
[1:12:45] Speaker 1: what Corey Kissbert like a combined what would it be
[1:12:50] Speaker 1: like twenty four million dollars? Not like that seems that
[1:12:52] Speaker 1: shit crazy. It's like, why why you're not going to
[1:12:55] Speaker 1: keep both of them, let alone one of them.
[1:12:58] Speaker 2: So that's a good point about the Corey Yeah making
[1:13:01] Speaker 2: fourteen million next ye? Yes, okay, So yeah, it's questionable
[1:13:05] Speaker 2: what they're going to do. And this may have already
[1:13:07] Speaker 2: happened if you're listening to the podcast, but they still
[1:13:11] Speaker 2: have to decide on Jonathan Kaminge's team options, right, right, right,
[1:13:14] Speaker 2: that's a very interesting number at twenty four million dollars.
[1:13:18] Speaker 2: So what are they doing Otherwise? We're looking like the
[1:13:24] Speaker 2: same team going forward here because they still lack size,
[1:13:30] Speaker 2: full stop, I'm done talking. Look Jalen Johnson again on
[1:13:33] Speaker 2: Yaka Kongu coming back. They need to get a little bigger.
[1:13:38] Speaker 2: You know, Zoobi edge of four is going to be
[1:13:40] Speaker 2: fun to watch as a backup center. We'll see what
[1:13:42] Speaker 2: he can do. He could be awesome, but they definitely
[1:13:45] Speaker 2: needs some size.
[1:13:46] Speaker 1: Okay, well, let's call it there. The only thing else
[1:13:49] Speaker 1: I had in my notes is that the Heat have
[1:13:51] Speaker 1: their eye on Mike Conley and Tim Hardaway possibility. I mean,
[1:13:55] Speaker 1: they're obviously got to fill out the rest of the roster.
[1:13:57] Speaker 1: Could see both those guys making some sense and being
[1:14:00] Speaker 1: affordable enough. And the Spurs have their eye on really
[1:14:03] Speaker 1: Hatchamura and John Collins. It does feel like to me
[1:14:08] Speaker 1: John Collins at one point will be on the San
[1:14:09] Speaker 1: Antonio Spurs. I don't know why, just I can picture it.
[1:14:12] Speaker 1: I can see it, and it makes sense to me.
[1:14:14] Speaker 1: But you know, maybe if I don't know, they strike
[1:14:17] Speaker 1: out on a potential Kawhi Leonard sort of deal, they
[1:14:20] Speaker 1: pivot to something much more affordable off one of those guys.
[1:14:23] Speaker 1: That's all I got.
[1:14:23] Speaker 2: For you right now. Yeah, John Collins, it fits on
[1:14:27] Speaker 2: the Spurs. He would take Harrison Barnes role, really, but
[1:14:31] Speaker 2: he would be getting a huge pay cut. It seems
[1:14:34] Speaker 2: like at this point of his career, no things for
[1:14:38] Speaker 2: flying with the Atlanta Hawks. Was that an aviation joke? Yeah,
[1:14:41] Speaker 2: content good one. No it wasn't. But yeah, that was
[1:14:44] Speaker 2: an unfortunate he wasn't flying there. No, he wants he
[1:14:47] Speaker 2: kicked that things. But it's nine years for him and
[1:14:51] Speaker 2: he feels young enough to get a good contract. So
[1:14:55] Speaker 2: I don't know if the Spurs would be at this
[1:14:57] Speaker 2: time able to give him enough because I think he'd
[1:15:00] Speaker 2: get out bid by somebody, but or they would get
[1:15:03] Speaker 2: out bid by somebody.
[1:15:05] Speaker 1: Well maybe we'll learn tomorrow where John Collins, Where John
[1:15:08] Speaker 1: Collins goes, because we're gonna call it here for now.
[1:15:11] Speaker 1: We did a lot of slop, a lot of transactions.
[1:15:14] Speaker 1: Thanks for joining us live on YouTube. Hit the like button,
[1:15:16] Speaker 1: make sure you subscribe, share the show, five star ratings
[1:15:19] Speaker 1: and reviews. Everybody knows the drill by now here's the
[1:15:21] Speaker 1: plan Les, there's an emergency podcast. I mean, I am
[1:15:25] Speaker 1: still one hundred percent convinced Jillen Brown is getting traded
[1:15:27] Speaker 1: at some point. If that happens, we'll do an emergency
[1:15:31] Speaker 1: podcast otherwise Tomorrow, Tuesday, June thirtieth. Yep, that's correct. We're
[1:15:36] Speaker 1: gonna be here at five thirty pm Eastern, so no
[1:15:40] Speaker 1: morning show instead. We'll go right up against the official start.
[1:15:44] Speaker 2: Of free agencies. Though.
[1:15:45] Speaker 1: It's so funny now with all these like a lot
[1:15:47] Speaker 1: of these deals can be agreed to if you're on
[1:15:49] Speaker 1: your own team, right, yeah, yeah, So we'll go live
[1:15:53] Speaker 1: at five thirty. We'll do the podcast as the news
[1:15:56] Speaker 1: sport hopefully continues to trickle in. Maybe some big things happen,
[1:16:00] Speaker 1: so we'll do an hour, hour and a half whatever,
[1:16:02] Speaker 1: and then we'll be back on Wednesday to do more
[1:16:05] Speaker 1: of the recap because a lot of other stuff happens
[1:16:07] Speaker 1: that night and stuff like that. I mean, it's a
[1:16:08] Speaker 1: start a free agency, It's not like it only happens
[1:16:10] Speaker 1: in that next six hour window, right. Who knows what
[1:16:13] Speaker 1: to expect, is what I'm getting that here. TK should
[1:16:16] Speaker 1: be here though, and we'll go over everything.
[1:16:18] Speaker 2: Yeah, we could have a trade happen as we drive home.
[1:16:23] Speaker 2: As DJ Gary Oak says in the stream, team Kawhi
[1:16:28] Speaker 2: is going to get traded on their drive home. That
[1:16:31] Speaker 2: warrants an emergency for sure.
[1:16:34] Speaker 1: Yeah, Okay, let's let's say Jellen Brown, Kawhi Leonard, Yeah,
[1:16:40] Speaker 1: John Morant.
[1:16:42] Speaker 2: Yes, yes, yes, because it's probably going to be a
[1:16:44] Speaker 2: good team that takes a chance. So we could be
[1:16:47] Speaker 2: talking about John on the heat.
[1:16:49] Speaker 1: Lebron to the Warriors. Oh, it's Anthony Davis trade.
[1:16:53] Speaker 2: Probably Anthony Davis did a little bit. Well, I just
[1:16:57] Speaker 2: want to know if he gave us an emergency trade
[1:17:01] Speaker 2: podcast in February, right, I'm just trying to think back.
[1:17:04] Speaker 2: He's gonna give us two emergency podcasts in four months.
[1:17:07] Speaker 2: I think he did when he was traded to the Wizards.
[1:17:10] Speaker 2: That's all. That's my only point. What do you think
[1:17:13] Speaker 2: a D Wizards legend? A D is mL doomsday? Says
[1:17:17] Speaker 2: here on the stream, I don't know.
[1:17:20] Speaker 1: Well, this Ghost Warriors angle is crazy to me, but
[1:17:23] Speaker 1: also very exciting. So I wanted to happen.
[1:17:26] Speaker 2: Lebron was awesome last year, so he warrants it. He
[1:17:29] Speaker 2: warrants one. But does a D that's the question, or we.
[1:17:33] Speaker 1: Just lump them yeah, if it happens anyway, it feels
[1:17:36] Speaker 1: like it's like a joint joint collaboration here. If if
[1:17:40] Speaker 1: I don't know, one goes to them, maybe the others
[1:17:42] Speaker 1: going to Lebron.
[1:17:45] Speaker 2: Yeah it's different. When you said that, I'm thinking, no,
[1:17:48] Speaker 2: they're both going to sign there as free agents. Lebron's
[1:17:49] Speaker 2: gonna take less money. But Anthony Davis has to be
[1:17:51] Speaker 2: a trade. So yeah, maybe it is a collapse.
[1:17:55] Speaker 1: I'll just tell you this. If John Collins gets traded,
[1:17:57] Speaker 1: we're not doing.
[1:17:57] Speaker 2: An emergency podcast. Okay, Well, he's a free agent, so
[1:18:00] Speaker 2: he's not gonna be signing. He's not gonna be traded,
[1:18:02] Speaker 2: I should say, So what if he gets signed to
[1:18:04] Speaker 2: sign a trade? Yeah, I guess what about if he's
[1:18:07] Speaker 2: a free agent? Nah? Sorry John, No, we'll just talk
[1:18:10] Speaker 2: about it tomorrow.
[1:18:11] Speaker 1: Join us five thirty pm. Until then, Clipper bros. You
[1:18:14] Speaker 1: heard it here first, have a great time, turn up,
[1:18:17] Speaker 1: Love you guys, awesome.
[1:18:19] Speaker 2: Thanks for joining us, and remember we're ready for emergency podcasts.
[1:18:23] Speaker 2: Although when Burdo eats on the stream, team says, wait
[1:18:28] Speaker 2: exclamation point, it ain't happening. I am waiting Burdo eats.
[1:18:33] Speaker 2: We're at it here. There hasn't been one that has happened,
[1:18:35] Speaker 2: but you can't fool me. Burto Josh might not, Oh.
[1:18:38] Speaker 1: Josh, sign with the Nets two years, nine million dollars.
[1:18:41] Speaker 2: Might not Let's do it right now.
[1:18:44] Speaker 1: Russell Westbrook might not. All right, We'll see you guys
[1:18:46] Speaker 1: tomorrow afternoon, or with an emergency podcast. Brace today, people,
