On Wed.'s No Dunks, the guys overreact to the NBA's opening results: The Thunder are the best team in the league, Joel Embiid will play 70 games this season, and Javonte Green has already peaked. That, plus a LeBron wedgie in MSG, the Knicks' championship celebrations, Wemby and Tatum struggling, Halloween decorations, the matinee start, and more. 🎽 Buy a new No Dunks reversible jersey: https://breakingt.com/collections/no-dunks ✍️ Ad-free No Dunks episodes on Substack: https://nodunks.substack.com/ 📈 No Dunks on YouTube: YouTube.com/nodunksinc 📸 No Dunks on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nodunksinc/ 𝕏 No Dunks on Twitter/X: https://x.com/NoDunksInc 🦋 No Dunks on Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/nodunks.com 18+ only. [0:52] Speaker 3: We're back, baby.
[0:55] Speaker 1: Gotta get used to those late nights. Not used to
[0:58] Speaker 1: that yet, but that wasn't even really late either. It
[1:00] Speaker 1: was like an earlier late start, all things considered. Yeah,
[1:04] Speaker 1: they're going to get later.
[1:05] Speaker 3: I don't know. I went upstairs as soon as Thunder
[1:08] Speaker 3: Spurs was open. I was like, 1230. My eye muscles
[1:11] Speaker 3: are not strong enough yet to keep them open that
[1:14] Speaker 3: late and then be able to open them again early
[1:17] Speaker 3: the next morning.
[1:17] Speaker 1: That's right.
[1:18] Speaker 3: Get the lactic acid out of them.
[1:20] Speaker 1: That's exactly right.
[1:21] Speaker 3: Take them for a run.
[1:21] Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like nine hours of hoops yesterday, really, or
[1:24] Speaker 1: something around that.
[1:26] Speaker 2: Yeah, I did the halftime sleep of OKC.
[1:28] Speaker 1: You did? OK, you watched the rest this morning.
[1:30] Speaker 2: Yeah, which is a mistake. Because you go to bed thinking,
[1:33] Speaker 2: all right, the Spurs are going to get it going
[1:34] Speaker 2: in the third quarter. So you go to bed thinking,
[1:36] Speaker 2: all right, here we go, third quarter. It's already in
[1:38] Speaker 2: my head. So I wake up thinking, all right, let's go.
[1:41] Speaker 1: Do you check the score then when you wake up
[1:43] Speaker 1: or do you go right into the second half action?
[1:45] Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm a score man.
[1:46] Speaker 1: Yeah, and then you see how it unfolded. I've done that,
[1:48] Speaker 1: of course.
[1:49] Speaker 2: Third quarter was good, though.
[1:51] Speaker 1: I made a game of it. We'll break it all down.
[1:53] Speaker 1: We're going to play it's just one game, but and
[1:56] Speaker 1: completely overreact to those three games that started the season yesterday.
[1:59] Speaker 1: But we had our first wedgie, baby. And my God,
[2:03] Speaker 1: LeBron James in Madison Square Garden in clutch time. And
[2:08] Speaker 1: a very unique, hilarious wedgie, too, where it went around
[2:12] Speaker 1: the rim and then he popped it back in. The rise,
[2:15] Speaker 1: or excuse me, I should say the fallen rise of
[2:17] Speaker 1: wedgie Dinkins now streaming on Peacock. I mean, Reggie went.
[2:22] Speaker 3: No!
[2:23] Speaker 1: And then he screwed up the show name. He called
[2:25] Speaker 1: it Wedgie Jenkins. Yeah.
[2:29] Speaker 3: Sorry. You know what I mean.
[2:30] Speaker 1: It's actually Reggie Dinkins.
[2:32] Speaker 3: Reggie Dinkins. He said Reggie Jenkins. He also said Reggie
[2:37] Speaker 3: or Wedgie.
[2:38] Speaker 2: Why didn't he just say Wedgie Miller? I know.
[2:40] Speaker 1: Well, because they had been talking to Tracy Morgan there.
[2:44] Speaker 3: Mike Tirico was eating his popcorn. You know, it was
[2:46] Speaker 3: a long story. Everybody started a little rusty. November 2nd,
[2:48] Speaker 3: I think, is the date. You tune them in for
[2:51] Speaker 3: season two of Reggie Dinks. No. Come on, man. Season one,
[2:55] Speaker 3: that epic cliffhanger they had at the end. I got
[2:59] Speaker 3: to see what happens.
[3:00] Speaker 1: Where the ball was just going around the rim. Will
[3:03] Speaker 1: it be a wedgie or not?
[3:04] Speaker 2: I mean, does he eat popcorn? Does Tracy Morgan eat
[3:06] Speaker 2: popcorn the way he was eating it last night? Because
[3:08] Speaker 2: that was fun to watch.
[3:09] Speaker 3: He threw it up in the air and they cut
[3:11] Speaker 3: to black. Season two coming soon. I couldn't believe it.
[3:15] Speaker 3: Did he get the popcorn in his mouth?
[3:16] Speaker 1: Tune in. WedgieTracker.com.
[3:18] Speaker 2: He was stuffing it, man. He was stuffing it in
[3:20] Speaker 2: his mouth. It was hanging off his lip.
[3:22] Speaker 1: WedgieTracker.com, which we always show you there at the end
[3:25] Speaker 1: to keep track of all the wedgies. It's a real website.
[3:27] Speaker 1: It has leveled up this season, man. There are now
[3:30] Speaker 1: shout outs for the first people that actually flagged the
[3:34] Speaker 1: wedgie online. So that's cool. There's a coach's challenge you
[3:38] Speaker 1: can throw on WedgieTracker.com now. You can throw the flag
[3:41] Speaker 1: if you think they got the wrong player with the wedgie,
[3:45] Speaker 1: the wrong team, maybe the wrong date. Okay. Love that.
[3:48] Speaker 1: Keeping it honest over there. And then get this. Wedgie
[3:52] Speaker 1: Tracker is now an app. You can go and download
[3:54] Speaker 1: this from the app store and have all the wedgies
[3:58] Speaker 1: right there in your own pocket. Wow. Isn't that amazing?
[4:02] Speaker 1: I think it's only available on iPhones, but I don't
[4:05] Speaker 1: know many Android users nowadays.
[4:06] Speaker 2: Not an ad. That was not an ad.
[4:08] Speaker 3: I know.
[4:09] Speaker 2: I will say this about wedgie tracker.com. The pace is
[4:12] Speaker 2: 53 wedgies. Um, no, it's not.
[4:15] Speaker 1: Are you throwing a flag?
[4:18] Speaker 2: I mean, cancel the website. If you're going to give
[4:20] Speaker 2: us that pace, one wedgie after three games, there's 1230
[4:24] Speaker 2: regular season games. It's some pretty easy math. We're on
[4:28] Speaker 2: the pace for over 400 and then you get some
[4:31] Speaker 2: post-season games. So Ricardo, I love the website. That's incredible.
[4:35] Speaker 2: Thank you very much for putting it up. Although I
[4:37] Speaker 2: went and checked, was that our first wedgie on an
[4:40] Speaker 2: opening night ever? Oh, since we started tracking. It is. Absolutely.
[4:45] Speaker 1: On opening night. Maybe not an opening game for a team.
[4:48] Speaker 2: For a team. Last year, literally, OKC Indiana had a wedgie.
[4:53] Speaker 2: That was Indiana's first game, although that was OKC's second game.
[4:57] Speaker 2: I went back two years ago. Bilal Koulibaly had one
[5:00] Speaker 2: for the Washington Wizards. They were playing Boston. That was
[5:03] Speaker 2: Boston's second game, so it wasn't there. Minnesota Memphis in 2016.
[5:06] Speaker 2: You remember that one? No. You remember that one? Vince Carter.
[5:09] Speaker 1: Hold on.
[5:10] Speaker 2: Vince Carter.
[5:10] Speaker 3: I've got the app.
[5:11] Speaker 1: Check it out.
[5:13] Speaker 2: That was both teams' first game on October 26, 2016.
[5:16] Speaker 2: In 2015, we had one in Utah's first game. They
[5:22] Speaker 2: were playing Detroit, who played the night before against Atlanta.
[5:25] Speaker 2: Detroit opened the season against Atlanta in 2015. That's kind
[5:29] Speaker 2: of weird.
[5:29] Speaker 3: I remember that.
[5:30] Speaker 2: Do you remember that?
[5:31] Speaker 3: That one I remember.
[5:32] Speaker 2: That was a Morris. Was it a Marcus or a Markeith?
[5:36] Speaker 2: Either way. Yeah, we've had some on opening night for teams,
[5:39] Speaker 2: but not the opening night of a season. And you
[5:41] Speaker 2: get it from LeBron James. This is a different league. Wow.
[5:44] Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. We've got wedgies on opening night.
[5:45] Speaker 3: It's a good moment.
[5:46] Speaker 2: We've got parity happening in the NBA. We've got expansion
[5:49] Speaker 2: happening to Vegas. We've got expansion happening to Europe someday, maybe.
[5:52] Speaker 1: I thought it was a good thing we got a
[5:54] Speaker 1: wedgie in the game two of the WNBA finals. During Valkyries,
[5:58] Speaker 1: a lot of people were excited. And I was responding
[6:00] Speaker 1: to people like, that's a good sign leading right into
[6:02] Speaker 1: the NBA season. Here we go. One wedgie. Are we
[6:04] Speaker 1: on pace for 53? Or are we on pace.
[6:06] Speaker 2: For 400 plus?
[6:07] Speaker 1: 53?
[6:07] Speaker 2: How does that make sense?
[6:08] Speaker 1: I don't know.
[6:10] Speaker 2: I've always been anal about math. I can't wait.
[6:15] Speaker 1: To see that on a graphic later.
[6:17] Speaker 3: Trey will make.
[6:18] Speaker 1: I've always been anal about math.
[6:21] Speaker 2: Ricardo's been really, really busy updating his app. You're in...
[6:26] Speaker 2: Promoting it. Yeah. And then you're shitting on it. I'm
[6:31] Speaker 2: not shitting on it. That's how you advertise, just like that.
[6:38] Speaker 1: You're in rare form, man. He went to bed at halftime, man.
[6:43] Speaker 1: Wait until he stays up all night to watch these.
[6:45] Speaker 1: All right, so let's get into it, the actual basketball.
[6:48] Speaker 1: It's just one game, but let's do it. Okay, so
[6:55] Speaker 1: three games. Each of us can take a turn overreacting.
[6:59] Speaker 1: That's what we're doing here to just one game. Let's
[7:03] Speaker 1: start with the Thunder Spurs game, the late game. Trey,
[7:06] Speaker 1: what's your overreaction?
[7:07] Speaker 3: It's just one game, but the Thunder are the best
[7:09] Speaker 3: team in the league.
[7:11] Speaker 2: They're good.
[7:12] Speaker 3: Perhaps not hyperbole. Thunder were locked in last night. They
[7:17] Speaker 3: came in, and you could tell the game meant a
[7:19] Speaker 3: lot to them, and it, for me, started with Shea
[7:21] Speaker 3: Gildress Alexander. 32, six boards, four assists, three steals, three blocks.
[7:26] Speaker 3: The dude is a master of the craft of scoring.
[7:29] Speaker 3: He had that reverse spin move, step through with the floater,
[7:34] Speaker 3: incredible stuff, a couple of and-one jumpers where he... You
[7:38] Speaker 3: just know he's going to the pump fake. You know
[7:40] Speaker 3: he's going to get you up, but still you can't
[7:42] Speaker 3: resist it. Gets the foul. But the thing that really
[7:45] Speaker 3: impressed me, it felt like he was playing with a
[7:46] Speaker 3: whole new attitude last night. More disdainful for his opponents,
[7:51] Speaker 3: I thought. A little bit of an edge. Like when
[7:53] Speaker 3: he's celebrating, he's not just like getting the arms going.
[7:56] Speaker 3: He's putting a lot of oomph behind it. I thought
[7:59] Speaker 3: there was so much edge on Shea Gildress Alexander, which
[8:02] Speaker 3: then permeates down on the line for the rest of
[8:04] Speaker 3: the Thunder team. to the point where De'Aaron Fox rodeo
[8:08] Speaker 3: tosses Chet Holmgren and all three of the Williams Bash
[8:11] Speaker 3: brothers step to him and defend him and say, you're
[8:13] Speaker 3: not messing with our tall, skinny guy, okay? Immediately after that,
[8:17] Speaker 3: a 22-5 run for OKC, the first big punch of
[8:21] Speaker 3: the game. The Spurs punched back, but OKC always had
[8:23] Speaker 3: a response. Jalen Williams gave the interview at the end
[8:27] Speaker 3: of the first quarter where he talked about how they
[8:28] Speaker 3: kind of have a new team with the loss of
[8:30] Speaker 3: Lou Dort, who's been a longtime culture guy for the Thunder,
[8:34] Speaker 3: him departing. Aaron Wiggins departing, young guys stepping into new roles.
[8:38] Speaker 3: To me, the theme of the night was the Thunder
[8:40] Speaker 3: coming out and trying to send a message that this
[8:43] Speaker 3: is the standard of winning championships. This is what you
[8:47] Speaker 3: need to do in a big-time game against a big-time opponent,
[8:50] Speaker 3: and that's the message they sent.
[8:52] Speaker 2: Yeah. It would have been nice on the other side
[8:54] Speaker 2: if we got the best player performing like that with
[8:57] Speaker 2: a little bit of rigor that Wemby did not have
[8:59] Speaker 2: on this night. Will it happen in game two?
[9:01] Speaker 1: Perhaps.
[9:02] Speaker 2: Perhaps. A big part of it was, yeah, they were
[9:05] Speaker 2: just chomping at the bit, licking the chops, that they
[9:08] Speaker 2: got to play the Spurs again after five months of
[9:10] Speaker 2: just waiting for them. And Shea was spectacular, there's no doubt.
[9:15] Speaker 2: Against great defenders, by the way.
[9:17] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[9:17] Speaker 2: And they were awesome defenders.
[9:18] Speaker 1: In Castle, be it Harper, Wemby, obviously shading over.
[9:21] Speaker 2: They were just good. They were good. But Shea was,
[9:25] Speaker 2: he was just absolutely elite. It was different to see
[9:28] Speaker 2: Cason Wallace sub in for Lou Dort as a starter.
[9:31] Speaker 2: And I thought Kaysen Wallace is that little different piece
[9:35] Speaker 2: than Lou Dort. It could be A.J. Mitchell. It could
[9:38] Speaker 2: be A.J. Mitchell, I think. I'll stop there. I won't
[9:41] Speaker 2: say that it's Jared McCain. They need a ball handler.
[9:44] Speaker 2: And that's why I think they're better off without Lou
[9:47] Speaker 2: Dort there. Those guys are better offensive weapons. And Shea's
[9:50] Speaker 2: first three came from a Kaysen Wallace penetration. Find him.
[9:54] Speaker 2: It's an open three. That was a penetrate. Give it
[9:56] Speaker 2: to him. And Shea hit his first open three. It
[9:58] Speaker 2: was a beautiful shot. So I think they're better off.
[10:00] Speaker 2: without Lou Dort. I know he's a great defender, but
[10:02] Speaker 2: he's limited offensively. So here comes in Kaysen Wallace. Even
[10:05] Speaker 2: though he didn't have a spectacular stat-wise night, he just
[10:08] Speaker 2: had a really good night, and it trickles down to
[10:11] Speaker 2: absolutely everybody on OKC.
[10:13] Speaker 1: I think I picked the wrong Thunder player to win
[10:15] Speaker 1: six-man of the year because I went with A.J.
[10:17] Speaker 2: Mitchell, and.
[10:19] Speaker 1: After one game, if we're overreacting, it's Jared McCain, who
[10:22] Speaker 1: was incredible in this game in terms of hitting the
[10:25] Speaker 1: three ball.
[10:26] Speaker 2: And ESPN picked Caruso, so there could be like six
[10:30] Speaker 2: of them on this team, unfortunately.
[10:32] Speaker 1: Well, that's the thing. Everybody's stepping up, for sure, and
[10:34] Speaker 1: getting more of a role now with all these guys
[10:36] Speaker 1: being moved to help the books. How about Ademara, too,
[10:40] Speaker 1: in his rookie debut? Looking pretty damn solid. He blocked
[10:44] Speaker 1: Wemby on the alley-oop attempt. Seven points in You know,
[10:47] Speaker 1: limited time, didn't play a ton of minutes because they
[10:49] Speaker 1: have two other big guys. And I thought Chet Holmgren
[10:52] Speaker 1: had a little bit of a backbone last night.
[10:54] Speaker 2: Oh, absolutely.
[10:55] Speaker 1: So that was a good sign for OKC. Obviously, they're
[10:57] Speaker 1: going to think they're going to have to go through
[10:58] Speaker 1: San Antonio again at some point in the playoffs. But Mara, man, like,
[11:01] Speaker 1: this guy's going to play. Like, there's no doubt. We
[11:03] Speaker 1: saw him in preseason, but then you're like, oh, yeah. OK,
[11:05] Speaker 1: we see this all the time. Everybody gets excited about
[11:08] Speaker 1: a rookie or a young guy that gets all these
[11:10] Speaker 1: opportunities in the preseason. You're like, oh, that'll translate. But
[11:13] Speaker 1: I think he's at least going to get these type
[11:15] Speaker 1: of opportunities, especially if it's San Antonio. Where it's like,
[11:18] Speaker 1: hey man, try your best on that giant over there.
[11:20] Speaker 1: And Victor Wemenyama, one for 13. They were calling him
[11:24] Speaker 1: Brickter Wemenyama online last night. Rough game. The one basket
[11:29] Speaker 1: was the alley-oop, I think, the wide open one from
[11:32] Speaker 1: Fox at the end of the third. Strange to see
[11:35] Speaker 1: him really, really struggle like that.
[11:37] Speaker 2: Yeah. We all expect, I expected him to... Go off
[11:42] Speaker 2: into the summer and come back extremely strong. And so
[11:45] Speaker 2: I think this first game is just an absolute write-off.
[11:48] Speaker 2: He said post-game, I just got to have more fun.
[11:50] Speaker 2: I just got to be myself. He doesn't talk like that.
[11:53] Speaker 2: It was more like, I just got to have more fun.
[11:55] Speaker 2: That's what I have to do. And I think... He
[11:58] Speaker 2: can't look like that ever again. I think that's all
[12:01] Speaker 2: it was.
[12:01] Speaker 1: Will that be his worst game of the season?
[12:02] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[12:03] Speaker 3: I mean, one for 13 is pretty bad. Yeah. But
[12:07] Speaker 3: he's still dominated on the defensive end, for sure. But
[12:10] Speaker 3: he was just completely out of sorts and completely out
[12:12] Speaker 3: of rhythm. And it's going to take a long time
[12:16] Speaker 3: for the Spurs to figure out exactly how they want
[12:18] Speaker 3: to play with their three guards out there. But OKC
[12:22] Speaker 3: was being pretty bold in letting Stephon Castle shoot. They
[12:25] Speaker 3: were playing off him on the perimeter. They're not like,
[12:28] Speaker 3: desperate to stay attached to a guy like De'Aaron Fox.
[12:31] Speaker 3: Harper as well is not a guy who threatens the
[12:34] Speaker 3: defense from the outside. So there is going to be
[12:36] Speaker 3: times when it's very cramped inside, I think, surprisingly for
[12:40] Speaker 3: a team that plays three guards since they're all attackers.
[12:42] Speaker 3: So it's not surprising to see Wemby get thrown out
[12:45] Speaker 3: of sorts, especially for a team like the Thunder that
[12:48] Speaker 3: has the size to be able to combat him and
[12:50] Speaker 3: the defensive infrastructure to actually play around him and make
[12:53] Speaker 3: things tough. But he was bad. And if he plays better,
[12:56] Speaker 3: you know, Spurs maybe take this one, but I assume
[13:00] Speaker 3: he'll have better games going forward here.
[13:02] Speaker 2: I think he was just off. And I know it's
[13:05] Speaker 2: easy to say that, but he was just thrown off
[13:07] Speaker 2: by a team that was ready to get after him.
[13:09] Speaker 2: So there's no way he can. I mean, he just
[13:12] Speaker 2: seemed entirely off. Chet outplayed Victor Wamenyama from the get-go.
[13:17] Speaker 2: He made Victor Wamenyama shuffle his feet and get called
[13:19] Speaker 2: for a travel. Chet had his number on this night.
[13:23] Speaker 2: I will say some bonus about the way the Thunder
[13:27] Speaker 2: were able to play that shell and go inside and
[13:30] Speaker 2: guard Wemby, Stephon Castle hit five threes and was willing
[13:33] Speaker 2: to let him fly. So if that happens, their offense
[13:36] Speaker 2: should be unstoppable. If Stephon Castle, who was the guy
[13:39] Speaker 2: that everyone wondered, oh, maybe play off him in the playoffs.
[13:43] Speaker 2: If he's willing to take, he took 12 threes in
[13:45] Speaker 2: this game. If he's going to hit five, they can
[13:47] Speaker 2: play whatever lineups. Is it Tobias Harris to get some
[13:49] Speaker 2: more height at the four or or is it to
[13:51] Speaker 2: go these three guards? But Chet was impressive, and he
[13:54] Speaker 2: outplayed Wemby. He was really, really good. The penetration, the drives,
[13:58] Speaker 2: and the passes. He dropped one off to Hartenstein in
[14:00] Speaker 2: the middle. He threw it out to the corner really nicely,
[14:02] Speaker 2: even if it was a miss on a three. He
[14:04] Speaker 2: was there, man. I mean, everybody was. So it started
[14:07] Speaker 2: with Shea trickled down, and unfortunately for Wemby, if you're
[14:11] Speaker 2: going to play like that, you guys are going to lose.
[14:13] Speaker 1: Statitudes noted today that it was the second-worst shooting performance
[14:16] Speaker 1: in a season opener in franchise history. by a player
[14:19] Speaker 1: who attempted at least 10 field goals. Can you name
[14:21] Speaker 1: the Spurs player who had a worse opener than Wemby's 1-13?
[14:25] Speaker 1: It's a Hall of Famer.
[14:29] Speaker 3: David Robinson. No.
[14:31] Speaker 2: Bless you.
[14:32] Speaker 1: He's allergic to David Robinson.
[14:33] Speaker 2: I would think it's a perimeter shooter.
[14:35] Speaker 1: It is.
[14:37] Speaker 2: But it's not a man. It's not a Tony. It's
[14:39] Speaker 2: a Tony Parker.
[14:39] Speaker 1: Tony Parker went 0-10 from the floor in the 0-2-0-3
[14:41] Speaker 1: season opener.
[14:45] Speaker 2: Doesn't seem right.
[14:46] Speaker 1: Maybe a good sign for the Spurs because they went
[14:48] Speaker 1: on to win 60 games in the title in 0-2-0-3. So,
[14:52] Speaker 1: you know, you get that one bad game out of
[14:54] Speaker 1: the way if you're Wemby and the Spurs and then
[14:55] Speaker 1: you hopefully go on and win a bunch of games
[14:57] Speaker 1: and maybe the title is here. But that was, it
[14:59] Speaker 1: was rough. It was ugly and, you know, I don't
[15:01] Speaker 1: think he settled for threes. How many did he take
[15:03] Speaker 1: in the end? It wasn't like a crazy number. Four, yeah.
[15:06] Speaker 2: I mean.
[15:07] Speaker 1: But he's the classic guy. Every one he misses, everyone's like,
[15:09] Speaker 1: what are you doing?
[15:10] Speaker 3: Get inside.
[15:11] Speaker 1: You're 7'5. I mean, he can make them and should
[15:14] Speaker 1: take some, but he just had no rhythm. And credit
[15:17] Speaker 1: to the Thunder because they have a lot of 7-footers now.
[15:20] Speaker 1: They already had two, and now they've got another big dude.
[15:23] Speaker 2: Yeah, Adai Mara can now put on his video, just
[15:30] Speaker 2: his initial one, but his entire resume here. He blocked
[15:33] Speaker 2: Wemby in his first game.
[15:36] Speaker 1: It's pretty cool.
[15:37] Speaker 3: He should get a t-shirt that says, I Wemby'd Wemby.
[15:39] Speaker 3: There you go. Because he blocks him on one end
[15:42] Speaker 3: and then catches an alley-oop on the other. That's literally
[15:44] Speaker 3: Wemby's moves. Stole his whole flow bar for bar.
[15:48] Speaker 2: Great start. He only played 11 minutes, I think.
[15:50] Speaker 1: Yeah, it was like 11 or 12.
[15:52] Speaker 3: And there were times where for sure he looked lost
[15:54] Speaker 3: out there.
[15:55] Speaker 1: Oh, sure.
[15:55] Speaker 3: And that guy looks like a 7'3 rookie just looking around.
[15:58] Speaker 3: But who cares? He had those 12 seconds where he
[16:02] Speaker 3: looked like the best player on earth. Yeah.
[16:03] Speaker 2: Your start can't get better than that. And an 11-minute
[16:06] Speaker 2: start to be able to block Wemby, to be part
[16:08] Speaker 2: of the first subs coming off the bench. So that
[16:11] Speaker 2: was pretty cool. Yeah, he was great. I assume teams
[16:15] Speaker 2: will regret not picking this guy because he just looks
[16:18] Speaker 2: really good. So, you know, his teammate was picked higher.
[16:21] Speaker 2: But I do want to just mention about Shea. I
[16:24] Speaker 2: thought the best thing that he did was in that
[16:26] Speaker 2: third quarter after I woke up, I watched Shea when
[16:29] Speaker 2: he was going to the bench because, The Spurs were
[16:31] Speaker 2: on a run and Shea was going to the bench
[16:34] Speaker 2: and he had something to say to Mark Dagnott, to
[16:36] Speaker 2: his coach. He let it rip. He just was pretty
[16:39] Speaker 2: angry about something. Dagnott nodded. Shea went to the bench
[16:44] Speaker 2: and then he was back on the floor 38 seconds later.
[16:46] Speaker 2: And I think it was, hey, they're going on a run.
[16:47] Speaker 2: You need me out there. And it worked. If that's
[16:50] Speaker 2: what it was, because they really did need him. because
[16:52] Speaker 2: they went on a great run this first day. That
[16:53] Speaker 2: was a nice comeback.
[16:54] Speaker 1: One more Shea example to piggyback off what you were saying.
[16:57] Speaker 1: You thought his celebrations had a little more oomph, sort
[17:00] Speaker 1: of maybe him being vocal with Coach Dagnall. He also
[17:03] Speaker 1: had a play where he blocked a jumper around the
[17:06] Speaker 1: free throw line. Mara came down with the rebound. or
[17:09] Speaker 1: the ball and Shea was like give me the ball
[17:12] Speaker 1: like he was like you could see him demonstrably like
[17:15] Speaker 1: give me the ball right away I want to go
[17:16] Speaker 1: you know Amara's like catching it trying to get his
[17:18] Speaker 1: bearings and all that um so he really wanted this
[17:21] Speaker 1: this was the game this was game eight for SGA
[17:24] Speaker 1: and that team to try and uh even the series
[17:27] Speaker 1: in air quotes here uh we're tied at four games
[17:29] Speaker 1: apiece I guess if we're using the conference finals.
[17:31] Speaker 2: Three blocks for him oh I know yeah yeah contributing
[17:34] Speaker 2: everywhere uh anything else uh just quickly um Carter Bryant,
[17:39] Speaker 2: a little scary. He only played six minutes. I thought
[17:42] Speaker 2: he would be growing into his role. Only played six minutes,
[17:45] Speaker 2: missed all his shots from three. Unfortunately, we'll see if
[17:49] Speaker 2: there's a trickle-down effect of Wemby playing better next game,
[17:52] Speaker 2: that note. Also, if we're going to random notes, we
[17:58] Speaker 2: ridiculed Reggie Miller at the beginning of the show. I
[18:01] Speaker 2: will say, when De'Aaron Fox threw Chad Holmgren to the
[18:05] Speaker 2: floor there, Grant Hill was quick to say, Chet goes
[18:10] Speaker 2: in there. He thought he had the size advantage, but
[18:14] Speaker 2: not that strong.
[18:15] Speaker 3: So, you know what?
[18:17] Speaker 2: I was very happy to hear Grant Hill say Chet
[18:20] Speaker 2: Holmgren is not very strong.
[18:21] Speaker 1: He added two pounds of muscle.
[18:23] Speaker 3: Yeah, two pounds of muscle.
[18:24] Speaker 2: He was throwing it around last night. Yeah, Grant called
[18:27] Speaker 2: it out, though, immediately. So I appreciate that of a broadcaster,
[18:30] Speaker 2: and I do appreciate the introductions that we see from
[18:32] Speaker 2: NBC where you get the player talking to the camera
[18:35] Speaker 2: saying where he's from.
[18:36] Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
[18:37] Speaker 2: You know, Che Gilgix, Alexander, Kentucky University. Case and Wallace, cramps.
[18:44] Speaker 1: No, clamps.
[18:44] Speaker 2: Clamps, yeah. I've been saying cramps. This is my bad.
[18:48] Speaker 2: I keep on saying cramps.
[18:49] Speaker 1: I didn't know if you were kidding.
[18:50] Speaker 2: I know. I know. I've been saying– I just bought a– That's.
[18:53] Speaker 1: Trey Kirby on Friday mornings in the factory.
[18:57] Speaker 2: I keep on saying– I say cramps every single morning
[19:00] Speaker 2: now because I've ordered a monkey never cramps hat from–
[19:05] Speaker 2: From the legend Kawasaki in Toronto. Anyway, also.
[19:09] Speaker 1: Did you really order this?
[19:10] Speaker 2: Yes, I can't wait for it.
[19:11] Speaker 1: Like 10 years later, though? It's interesting, but I'm excited
[19:14] Speaker 1: to see it.
[19:15] Speaker 2: He's still doing his thing. Straight from Japan. It's going
[19:17] Speaker 2: to take a long time to get here. Anyway, so
[19:20] Speaker 2: Cason Wallace says Clamps University. Dylan Harper then goes The
[19:24] Speaker 2: Crib University. Mm-hmm. The Crib University just drops it out there.
[19:28] Speaker 1: The Crib University.
[19:29] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[19:29] Speaker 3: No one can play at the Crib.
[19:30] Speaker 1: You like those little videos though.
[19:32] Speaker 3: Of course.
[19:33] Speaker 2: They show their personality.
[19:35] Speaker 1: And to end this, to sort of put a button
[19:38] Speaker 1: on the Fox tackling chat there. I think history was
[19:41] Speaker 1: made and Eagle brought it up. We've never had three
[19:44] Speaker 1: Williams all on the court, all being assessed. That was
[19:49] Speaker 1: a technical foul at once that was good i'm like
[19:51] Speaker 1: convinced uh sakakis and the officials did it just to
[19:55] Speaker 1: say they did that because i was like all three
[19:57] Speaker 1: of them yeah jay especially was like okay yeah i
[20:01] Speaker 1: didn't think all three of them warranted a technical there
[20:03] Speaker 1: no But I think they were like, guys, guys, guys, guys,
[20:07] Speaker 1: there's three Williams. We can do something pretty silly right now.
[20:11] Speaker 1: It's early enough in the game. It's not going to
[20:13] Speaker 1: have an impact. Did we just hit them all with
[20:14] Speaker 1: a tag?
[20:15] Speaker 2: Yeah, let's do it.
[20:15] Speaker 1: Let's do it. That's what history was made.
[20:17] Speaker 3: That was good.
[20:18] Speaker 1: Any other random notes, TK?
[20:20] Speaker 3: No, they literally felt to me like Mighty Ducks 2,
[20:23] Speaker 3: the Bash Brothers, when it's Fulton Reed and Dean Portman.
[20:27] Speaker 3: They recruit Kenny Wu to be the third Bash Brother. Shirt, gloves, stick.
[20:33] Speaker 3: It's like, let's all go over there and beat him up.
[20:35] Speaker 3: I loved it. It was like we're teammates together, you know?
[20:38] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[20:40] Speaker 1: Let's go to the first game of the night slate,
[20:44] Speaker 1: and that was the Sixers and the Knicks. What's your overreaction, Tess?
[20:49] Speaker 2: It's just one game, but Joel Embiid's going to play
[20:51] Speaker 2: 70 games. It's a stupid comment. We don't know how
[20:55] Speaker 2: many games he's going to play, but the thing about
[20:58] Speaker 2: Joel Embiid, his obligation to this team is literally... Being
[21:02] Speaker 2: on the floor, number one. Number two, running up and
[21:04] Speaker 2: down the floor and playing defense. And number three, not
[21:07] Speaker 2: having to do a lot offensively, even if basically half
[21:11] Speaker 2: your shots are threes. Seven of his 15 shots are threes.
[21:13] Speaker 2: And you only score 13 points. That's okay when you've
[21:16] Speaker 2: got Jalen Brown and Tyrese Maxey to carry this team.
[21:19] Speaker 2: I think that's entirely fine. And I don't know Joel
[21:23] Speaker 2: Embiid's health if this is ever possible that the guy
[21:26] Speaker 2: can play over two playoff series like he's never done before.
[21:30] Speaker 2: and get to a conference finals. But the defense is
[21:34] Speaker 2: all you need from this guy, especially with Ariel Huckporty
[21:38] Speaker 2: being injured for the rest of the season. They have
[21:41] Speaker 2: a lack of size behind him. There's no doubt about that.
[21:44] Speaker 2: But in this game, he had three big blocks. They're
[21:46] Speaker 2: all recovery blocks too. They weren't just, oh, there's a
[21:48] Speaker 2: guy in front of me and I'm seven feet. He
[21:50] Speaker 2: had to recover to block Andre Drummond a few times.
[21:52] Speaker 2: So great sign. That's all he needs to do. He
[21:54] Speaker 2: needs to be the fourth guy on offense. He does
[21:57] Speaker 2: not need to be that guy anymore. That's why it
[22:00] Speaker 2: was fine to see Tyrese Maxey carry it in the
[22:03] Speaker 2: first half, and then Jalen Brown come alive in that
[22:05] Speaker 2: third quarter. I will say, though, if the Knicks played
[22:08] Speaker 2: some defense in that third quarter, Jalen Brown wouldn't have
[22:10] Speaker 2: started to get off at all. I mean, you look
[22:12] Speaker 2: at all of his baskets in that quarter. One started
[22:16] Speaker 2: on a fast break from a Philadelphia 76ers, grabbed a miss,
[22:22] Speaker 2: a Knicks miss, and somehow LeBron goes through his own legs.
[22:25] Speaker 2: They're taking their time up the floor, and Jalen Brown
[22:27] Speaker 2: gets it. and beats everybody down the floor because Cat
[22:29] Speaker 2: had a bad game defensively. Dunk. Then on a baseline inbound,
[22:33] Speaker 2: Jalen Brown gets the ball at the three-point line. Somehow
[22:36] Speaker 2: able to get to the rim again. Then he got
[22:37] Speaker 2: a pass in the corner. It was sort of a
[22:39] Speaker 2: broken play, but he had all the time.
[22:41] Speaker 1: Oh, that one was hilarious.
[22:42] Speaker 2: He could have started his twitch. He could have painted
[22:45] Speaker 2: his hairline.
[22:46] Speaker 1: We're going live on Twitch if I get ready for
[22:48] Speaker 1: this shot.
[22:49] Speaker 2: He could have flown to Turkey, got his hair sprayed,
[22:52] Speaker 2: and then hit that three.
[22:53] Speaker 1: He did bounce it, didn't he?
[22:54] Speaker 2: He did, and he hit it. He thought about it.
[22:56] Speaker 2: Then he hit that monster one at the end of
[22:58] Speaker 2: the quarter because that was... He was feeling good. I mean,
[23:01] Speaker 2: that was a really great shot.
[23:02] Speaker 1: Nice play by Nick Nurse there. He brought LeBron back in.
[23:04] Speaker 1: I think he brought Embiid back in to drop that play.
[23:07] Speaker 1: It was a tough shot, that Brown hit.
[23:08] Speaker 2: So the Knicks had bad defense. And it was a
[23:11] Speaker 2: one-point game with three and a half minutes left when
[23:13] Speaker 2: Joel Embiid splashed a three, and they left him wide open.
[23:17] Speaker 2: There was some miscommunication there. So the Knicks could have
[23:20] Speaker 2: easily won this game with some defense. I think Cat
[23:24] Speaker 2: wasn't himself, whether it was foul trouble. He only played
[23:26] Speaker 2: six minutes in that first half. because of the foul trouble,
[23:29] Speaker 2: and he came alive in the second half. But I
[23:31] Speaker 2: think Drummond's kind of saved him, and Mike Brown wanted
[23:34] Speaker 2: to rip him one, the way he was playing defensively, unfortunately,
[23:37] Speaker 2: in this game. This wasn't a spectacular game from the Sixers,
[23:42] Speaker 2: especially from Embiid, but that's all you need from that guy.
[23:45] Speaker 2: You really don't need him to score all that much.
[23:46] Speaker 1: On this team. I saw Trillbro Dude, who's a diehard
[23:49] Speaker 1: Sixers fan. We love the You Know Ball podcast. He
[23:51] Speaker 1: thought it was Embiid's best defensive game since, like, 2023, and, like,
[23:56] Speaker 1: the way he looks at it, like you're saying Tess,
[23:57] Speaker 1: that's the only thing that's really important. I mean, they
[24:00] Speaker 1: go hand in hand, be out there, play. Uh, and
[24:02] Speaker 1: so you're going with the Jamal Crawford 70 plus games.
[24:05] Speaker 1: Cause I know Reggie and Jamal got into that and
[24:07] Speaker 1: then yeah, be a defensive force. So that was really
[24:10] Speaker 1: good to see from the six. Like the offense going
[24:12] Speaker 1: to be a little clunky still, you know, you've got
[24:14] Speaker 1: all the talent in the world. It'll figure itself out.
[24:17] Speaker 1: It's defensively. Are they going to be able to hold up?
[24:19] Speaker 1: And Embiid's a huge part of that. And some LeBron
[24:21] Speaker 1: at center, um, minutes as well. And he did that. Um,
[24:25] Speaker 1: Because they're just short guys. No Dominic Barlow. Obviously, Huck
[24:28] Speaker 1: Party gone. I mean, Adem Bonas saw some. But yeah,
[24:31] Speaker 1: Embiid was good defensively. What did you think of this game?
[24:34] Speaker 3: Embiid is funny because he goes from looking washed to
[24:38] Speaker 3: being a dominant player from basically minute to minute. Like
[24:42] Speaker 3: Andre Drummond was running wild in the first half. He
[24:46] Speaker 3: was an instant fan favorite for the Knicks. No surprise.
[24:49] Speaker 3: But suddenly, Embiid is able to run defensively. End to end.
[24:53] Speaker 3: He's moving side to side. He's defending at the rim.
[24:56] Speaker 3: I thought he looked the most lost on offense for
[24:59] Speaker 3: the Sixers, like very uncertain of where his offense was
[25:01] Speaker 3: coming from. But the rim protection he was offering, actually
[25:05] Speaker 3: being able to rebound was big. I was impressed with
[25:08] Speaker 3: the way Embiid. he came in saying nobody is sacrificing,
[25:12] Speaker 3: but he looked to me like he was sacrificing on offense.
[25:14] Speaker 3: And by sacrificing on offense, he had more energy to
[25:17] Speaker 3: expend on the defensive end, which is exactly what you
[25:20] Speaker 3: want to see when you build a super team, because
[25:22] Speaker 3: everybody's saying, okay, if we have to do less on offense,
[25:24] Speaker 3: doesn't that mean we can play a little bit harder
[25:26] Speaker 3: on defense? And I thought that was the case for everybody.
[25:28] Speaker 3: Like LeBron was flying around in the fourth quarter, making plays.
[25:31] Speaker 3: This guy looks like the perfect Swiss Army nice fit
[25:35] Speaker 3: with the Sixers. It's like he is in Jason Kidd
[25:38] Speaker 3: second time in Dallas mode. I don't have the athleticism
[25:41] Speaker 3: every single play, but I've got the brain every play,
[25:43] Speaker 3: which makes my athleticism really stand out when I know
[25:46] Speaker 3: when to use it. He threw maybe the best post-entry
[25:49] Speaker 3: pass of the season to Jalen Brown on a layup
[25:51] Speaker 3: in the first half. He's back cutting when he needs to. Okay,
[25:55] Speaker 3: you need me in the post? Sure, I'll do that.
[25:57] Speaker 3: And then Maxie just running up and down the court.
[25:59] Speaker 3: I thought this was a perfect start for the Sixers.
[26:01] Speaker 3: They didn't play A perfect brand of basketball, but there
[26:03] Speaker 3: was so much variety in their offense. There was so
[26:06] Speaker 3: much selflessness in the way that they approached the game.
[26:10] Speaker 3: That's what you want to see when you throw in
[26:11] Speaker 3: a whole bunch of big names, a whole bunch of
[26:13] Speaker 3: big egos and high usage rates. Everybody was doing their thing,
[26:17] Speaker 3: but also letting everybody else do their thing. Yeah.
[26:20] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[26:20] Speaker 1: And they got some contributions from, what, Anthony Simons hit
[26:23] Speaker 1: three threes. KCP hit two as well.
[26:26] Speaker 2: That was a surprise.
[26:27] Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, but that's going to play a part
[26:29] Speaker 1: over 82 games at least, like getting contributions from these guys,
[26:33] Speaker 1: that second unit especially. But, yeah, that was like, look, Maxie,
[26:39] Speaker 1: I will debate all year, I'm sure, at times, like
[26:41] Speaker 1: who is the best player on the Sixers. But I
[26:43] Speaker 1: think we all agree it should be sort of Maxie.
[26:46] Speaker 1: He was in game one. Will there be times where
[26:47] Speaker 1: it's Jalen Brown? Yes, definitely. indeed, I'm sure there'll be games,
[26:51] Speaker 1: maybe even LeBron still once in a while, but for
[26:53] Speaker 1: the most part, it's, it's Maxie. Um, and you know,
[26:56] Speaker 1: he came through in the clutch, obviously hitting some big
[26:58] Speaker 1: shots and free throws. And that was my pick for
[27:01] Speaker 1: clutch player of the year. Feel good after one game
[27:03] Speaker 1: with that. I think they're going to play a lot
[27:05] Speaker 1: of close games too. I said that it was part
[27:06] Speaker 1: of my equation of like picking a Sixers player for
[27:08] Speaker 1: clutch player of the year. I think they'll be in
[27:10] Speaker 1: a lot of these games.
[27:11] Speaker 2: I think Jalen Brown and Tyrese Maxie are going to
[27:13] Speaker 2: take their turn First half, my half. Second half, your half.
[27:18] Speaker 2: And Jalen Brown has done that in the past. And
[27:20] Speaker 2: I think that's what they're going to do. And it
[27:22] Speaker 2: was a perfect balance out of everybody on that roster.
[27:25] Speaker 2: They had more fast break points than the New York Knicks.
[27:28] Speaker 2: You start to think of this team. This team with
[27:30] Speaker 2: LeBron and Embiid are going to out fast break the
[27:32] Speaker 2: other team? Yeah, because of Maxie and Jalen Brown. And
[27:36] Speaker 2: LeBron just has to make those beautiful lead passes like
[27:39] Speaker 2: he does. Embiid just rebounded, man. I mean, he had
[27:42] Speaker 2: a rebound, and he gave it to LeBron. LeBron put
[27:43] Speaker 2: it through his legs to Maxie, and then Maxie throws
[27:46] Speaker 2: it to Jalen Brown. They've got enough athleticism. And, yeah,
[27:49] Speaker 2: the balance, up and down, 28 assists on 37 buckets.
[27:53] Speaker 2: That was their squad. Nobody overwhelmingly had a spectacular night
[27:57] Speaker 2: to me.
[27:58] Speaker 1: No, it wasn't the prettiest game.
[27:59] Speaker 2: No, not at all.
[28:00] Speaker 1: And maybe a part of it was taking forever with
[28:02] Speaker 1: the celebrations, which we'll get into, but, like, it's a
[28:05] Speaker 1: weird night.
[28:06] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[28:06] Speaker 1: Where it starts so early, the crowd's like pretty exhausted
[28:09] Speaker 1: by the time the game even comes. And it wasn't
[28:10] Speaker 1: the greatest shooting from both squads.
[28:12] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[28:12] Speaker 2: And the depth as you start to think, okay, do
[28:14] Speaker 2: they have enough guys? Well, Nick Nurse set up Anthony
[28:16] Speaker 2: Simons really well. Those three threes that he hit, the
[28:19] Speaker 2: first one, the mesh didn't move. And you just went
[28:22] Speaker 2: back to that guy. He even had some heat checks.
[28:23] Speaker 1: Oh, he had some heat checks, yeah.
[28:25] Speaker 2: But he had three. And the guy that they signed
[28:27] Speaker 2: because he's, you know, LeBron's former coach. NBA champion teammate
[28:31] Speaker 2: in KCP hit a couple. Surprising to see that. The
[28:35] Speaker 2: worrisome part, you know, it started this way, saying somehow
[28:38] Speaker 2: Joel Embiid has found the Messiah, found the doctor to
[28:42] Speaker 2: get him to play 70 games. I mean, that's, who knows?
[28:46] Speaker 2: But Reggie was going, no chance.
[28:51] Speaker 1: Also, I mean, yeah, they're talking about it and you're like,
[28:54] Speaker 1: oh God, this isn't good. You're jinxing the hell out
[28:56] Speaker 1: of this. And then Embiid went crashing into like the cameraman,
[29:01] Speaker 1: like onto his back. He came up, he sort of
[29:02] Speaker 1: held his back and you're like, oh God, no, he
[29:05] Speaker 1: was okay. But you're like, just don't talk about it
[29:07] Speaker 1: at all. Don't say this.
[29:08] Speaker 2: This is like last year where There could be one
[29:11] Speaker 2: play and you look at him just like that, or
[29:13] Speaker 2: you see Joel Embiid bent over like he was. He
[29:16] Speaker 2: had his hands on his knees and he thought, okay,
[29:18] Speaker 2: this is it. He's going out. It could very well happen.
[29:22] Speaker 2: And the worrisome part is, yeah, there's no backup help, really.
[29:25] Speaker 2: Not a lot of it with Bono.
[29:26] Speaker 3: He didn't look too good, I don't think.
[29:28] Speaker 1: I guess Taco Fall is on the roster.
[29:30] Speaker 2: They signed a Taco Fall.
[29:31] Speaker 1: It wasn't in uniform, but yeah.
[29:33] Speaker 2: Yeah, and they hoped that the Dallas Mavericks would keep
[29:37] Speaker 2: Dwight Powell because they signed Musa Sisi, to that restricted
[29:42] Speaker 2: free agent offer. But Dallas matched because he's good. So
[29:46] Speaker 2: they're desperate. They'll be looking for guys all around the league.
[29:49] Speaker 2: Orlando Robinson is available, I guess, but they're going to
[29:51] Speaker 2: try taco fall and Hopefully Joel Embiid doesn't taco fall
[29:55] Speaker 2: and get hurt. I mean, he's got to play, man.
[29:57] Speaker 2: He's got to play.
[29:57] Speaker 3: Yeah, he doesn't fall that often. That's true. Embiid's never
[30:00] Speaker 3: on the draft.
[30:01] Speaker 1: And so, like, despite all of this, though, the Knicks
[30:04] Speaker 1: did have it, and you said it, to 96-95 on
[30:07] Speaker 1: a cat bomb. Because cat came alive. There was that
[30:10] Speaker 1: stretch where he finally got going. I mean, I was
[30:13] Speaker 1: laughing going, oh man, it's so great to have basketball
[30:15] Speaker 1: in our lives. I forgot how funny Karl-Anthony Towns is.
[30:18] Speaker 1: He picks up the dumb foul. He's got the one
[30:20] Speaker 1: where he's flailing the leg. It's like, here we go.
[30:23] Speaker 1: But then he got it going. It's like, oh, he's
[30:24] Speaker 1: going to be the hero here on ring night. But
[30:26] Speaker 1: Embiid came back and then hit a, I think that
[30:28] Speaker 1: was a wide open three. He got right on the
[30:30] Speaker 1: other end, gave him a little breathing room. Though then
[30:33] Speaker 1: Embiid took a three with like, was that one like
[30:35] Speaker 1: 40 seconds left in the game?
[30:36] Speaker 3: Where Tariqo called him out.
[30:38] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[30:38] Speaker 3: Mike Tirico.
[30:40] Speaker 1: You're saying like you're giving props for Grant Hill keeping
[30:42] Speaker 1: it real. When has Tirico ever been.
[30:44] Speaker 2: Like, what was that?
[30:45] Speaker 1: He's like, that's rare for that guy.
[30:49] Speaker 2: Yeah, I was surprised.
[30:50] Speaker 1: But it was a bit of a weird shot.
[30:51] Speaker 3: It was a weird shot.
[30:52] Speaker 1: In terms of the score and time. But anyway, they
[30:54] Speaker 1: held on and got it done. The Knicks were in
[30:56] Speaker 1: this was my point. Like as ugly as they played,
[30:59] Speaker 1: you know, Brunson had a couple of looks that usually
[31:01] Speaker 1: go down for him and they could have won this.
[31:02] Speaker 3: Exactly. It was the more things change, the more they
[31:06] Speaker 3: stay the same. The Knicks like got down big, but
[31:08] Speaker 3: guess what? They're in it in the fourth quarter. And
[31:11] Speaker 3: if Brunson is hitting the way he was in June,
[31:14] Speaker 3: the Knicks can take this one. You know, he was
[31:16] Speaker 3: trying to advocate for a foul call on that last
[31:19] Speaker 3: three pointer. Maybe Jalen Brown touched him on the hip
[31:22] Speaker 3: or something like that, but not enough for a foul call,
[31:25] Speaker 3: but yeah, the game was there to win. You know,
[31:28] Speaker 3: cat's feeling good when he starts having funny celebrations. He
[31:30] Speaker 3: did like the Google KCP when they were jogging back
[31:34] Speaker 3: down the court. Uh, I like that, but that's just the,
[31:37] Speaker 3: the town's experience, you know, he had foul trouble. He
[31:41] Speaker 3: wasn't doing anything. And then suddenly he hits two from
[31:43] Speaker 3: 28 feet from straight on and you're like, okay, yeah.
[31:46] Speaker 3: Gets an offensive rebound.
[31:47] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[31:48] Speaker 3: I love what you're doing here. Just not quite enough
[31:50] Speaker 3: to get over the edge.
[31:51] Speaker 1: Random notes from this one. We'll get to the Knicks
[31:54] Speaker 1: stuff and the celebration stuff, but we got to start
[31:56] Speaker 1: with LeBron talking trash with some guy at MSG in
[32:02] Speaker 1: the second or third row there. while there was that
[32:04] Speaker 1: free throw attempt going, I mean, it was like, he was,
[32:07] Speaker 1: he was animated and he was like, you know, spike
[32:10] Speaker 1: seemed to be, uh, uh, mediating a little bit or something.
[32:13] Speaker 1: That was a pretty funny moment. And then everybody's doing
[32:15] Speaker 1: the lip reading of what he's saying. I'm not from
[32:17] Speaker 1: the West coast. I'm Ohio, baby. I'm paraphrasing here. Midwest
[32:23] Speaker 1: gets cold there. Yeah.
[32:24] Speaker 2: That's what he's saying. Yeah.
[32:26] Speaker 1: He was fired up.
[32:27] Speaker 2: Yeah. Those first few rows, they got their money's worth.
[32:30] Speaker 2: They just, I was watching them all listen. They're all smiling.
[32:34] Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. What is this guy saying?
[32:36] Speaker 3: Yeah. It's funny when it cuts and it's like there's
[32:39] Speaker 3: like eight kids sitting in the front rows all like,
[32:41] Speaker 3: I don't think he was yelling at the kids. But,
[32:44] Speaker 3: you know, I'm sure they were needling him.
[32:45] Speaker 1: I did say last night. And I get why they
[32:48] Speaker 1: don't want to do this. You don't want to give
[32:49] Speaker 1: a heckler too much attention. Then there's going to get
[32:51] Speaker 1: a bunch of copycats and all that. But I was like, man,
[32:54] Speaker 1: the late great Craig Sager would have had like a
[32:56] Speaker 1: full-blown halftime report on said fans. And who it was,
[33:02] Speaker 1: where he worked, everything about him. He would have come
[33:04] Speaker 1: back at halftime because it happened right before that. I
[33:06] Speaker 1: was like, man, I miss those days. It would have
[33:09] Speaker 1: just been Craig Sager. And it would have been funny,
[33:11] Speaker 1: but it was semi-serious.
[33:13] Speaker 2: Totally. Yeah, we'll be doing that at the G League
[33:15] Speaker 2: game when we do our games. We'll be interviewing somebody
[33:18] Speaker 2: as a fan, I think. Okay. We did it last time. Yeah,
[33:23] Speaker 2: it's happened. Yeah, we just jump into it.
[33:25] Speaker 1: Not a lot of trash talking going on.
[33:27] Speaker 2: No, it's not yet.
[33:28] Speaker 3: If it happens, we'll be on it. We'll be able
[33:31] Speaker 3: to track them down.
[33:31] Speaker 2: Yeah, that's not what I was alluding to. You're right,
[33:33] Speaker 2: because there's not a lot. There's not. Not at our
[33:36] Speaker 2: Skyhawks games, anyway. No. But we'll get some interviews in.
[33:39] Speaker 1: And LeBron, he also got into it with Landry Schammett
[33:42] Speaker 1: there that one time, coming back up the floor. They
[33:45] Speaker 1: were like bodying each other.
[33:47] Speaker 3: Yeah, true, true.
[33:47] Speaker 1: After he is, I think he had, I think LeBron
[33:49] Speaker 1: had scored on him inside, sort of threw his muscle
[33:52] Speaker 1: around a little bit, let Shamit know, and Shamit took offense.
[33:55] Speaker 2: Yeah, he shoved Shamit. Yeah. Could have called foul on that.
[34:00] Speaker 2: Shamit could have fell and got the call, but anyway.
[34:03] Speaker 3: He could have embellished.
[34:04] Speaker 2: He could have embellished.
[34:05] Speaker 3: I thought LeBron was great. I think it's weird. It
[34:07] Speaker 3: does look weird, like bald head LeBron in a blue
[34:10] Speaker 3: Sixers jersey. I was like, huh, this will take a little.
[34:12] Speaker 1: Bit for me to get used to. I'm with you.
[34:13] Speaker 3: But on the court, I was like, He's doing exactly
[34:16] Speaker 3: what you would want him to do. He's got the
[34:18] Speaker 3: biggest brain out there, and it was just filling in
[34:22] Speaker 3: any possible hole the Sixers had at any possible time.
[34:25] Speaker 1: You're not wrong. So the Knicks raised their NBA championship
[34:28] Speaker 1: banner and the NBA Cup banner's up. So they put
[34:33] Speaker 1: it up.
[34:34] Speaker 2: On the same day.
[34:37] Speaker 1: We didn't see this go up, but it was there
[34:39] Speaker 1: hanging beside an Atlantic Division champion banner. From 2012-13.
[34:43] Speaker 3: I thought it was kind of like a comedy bit,
[34:47] Speaker 3: the way Breen introduces it, because it's just in the
[34:49] Speaker 3: middle of the speech, and he's like, went on to
[34:51] Speaker 3: win the NBA Cup. Raises his hand, and then it
[34:54] Speaker 3: instantly jump cuts, and it felt like you could hear
[34:57] Speaker 3: the audience going, laughter trickling through the crowd.
[35:02] Speaker 1: But yeah, they're both up there. I'm always shocked how
[35:06] Speaker 1: small the banners look, too. Like the main one, when
[35:09] Speaker 1: it's on the floor when it was going up, and
[35:11] Speaker 1: everybody's doing their pose. And then I'm like, is there
[35:15] Speaker 1: like a mandatory size or do they differ in all arenas?
[35:20] Speaker 1: Like are some bigger than others? Or does the league
[35:23] Speaker 1: say it has to be this size?
[35:25] Speaker 3: That's a good question. But it's interesting because the Knicks
[35:29] Speaker 3: have to match their banner to their old banner that
[35:31] Speaker 3: they put up 50 years ago. So they're kind of
[35:35] Speaker 3: like straightforward, right? It just says 2025. 26 NBA champions.
[35:41] Speaker 3: That's it. No names, no extra design. Throw a Knicks
[35:44] Speaker 3: logo on there. We got two fonts. It's just very straightforward.
[35:48] Speaker 1: I think they're smaller, too, in Madison Square Garden because
[35:50] Speaker 1: that ceiling is so low if you're ever up there
[35:53] Speaker 1: compared to some vast, really cavernous arenas. We'll get Pablo
[35:59] Speaker 1: on that to the bottom of these banners here.
[36:02] Speaker 3: It did look sweet when the banner was rising up
[36:04] Speaker 3: to the MSG ceiling.
[36:07] Speaker 1: That cool ceiling oh it's incredible yeah it looked awesome
[36:10] Speaker 1: uh what do you think of the t-shirts they handed
[36:12] Speaker 1: out that had everybody a little perplexed at first when
[36:14] Speaker 1: this started making the rounds on social media nick's logo
[36:17] Speaker 1: and then it says 2026 uh 27 champions night on
[36:23] Speaker 1: the t-shirt i was like hold on you guys calling
[36:26] Speaker 1: your shot here i mean you're winning you're going back
[36:28] Speaker 1: to back for the first time in nearly a decade
[36:32] Speaker 1: But then it's the champion's night. That's their save.
[36:34] Speaker 2: You are here to have a fantastic night. You know?
[36:38] Speaker 2: Something bother me. Does it bother anybody? Do you want
[36:42] Speaker 2: it to say champs?
[36:43] Speaker 1: It's just weird because at first it's like, did you
[36:46] Speaker 1: get the... You feel like you got the year wrong.
[36:48] Speaker 3: Of course, this is this year. It's fine.
[36:52] Speaker 1: It does make sense.
[36:53] Speaker 3: It's like technically right, but it feels like something's wrong
[36:55] Speaker 3: with it.
[36:56] Speaker 2: Exactly, exactly.
[36:57] Speaker 3: What's happening?
[36:58] Speaker 1: We got a few looks at the Knicks championship rings
[37:02] Speaker 1: on the broadcast. We only got one photo here, and
[37:04] Speaker 1: not a photo that shows you all the fancy things
[37:06] Speaker 1: it can do, but what was your takeaway if you
[37:09] Speaker 1: watched any of the videos, Tass, on the Knicks championship rings?
[37:12] Speaker 2: Yes, I was watching the in-arena feed, and to see
[37:16] Speaker 2: the tools... that these people used to make this ring
[37:19] Speaker 2: happen was pretty neat. Was it?
[37:22] Speaker 1: The tools.
[37:23] Speaker 2: Yeah, the tools. They go through the manufacturing. Yeah, so
[37:27] Speaker 2: the in arena, you see the melding, the things that happen.
[37:31] Speaker 3: I mean, it is.
[37:32] Speaker 2: Hey, you got to geek out a little bit with
[37:34] Speaker 2: Jason of Beverly Hills.
[37:35] Speaker 1: That's right.
[37:36] Speaker 2: That's right. You can't help but know his name.
[37:39] Speaker 1: Victor does everything else. Jason does the rings.
[37:42] Speaker 2: So it did look cool. The fact that you open
[37:44] Speaker 2: it and the Madison Madison Square Garden rises from the
[37:48] Speaker 2: actual ring.
[37:49] Speaker 1: That's it's pretty cool.
[37:50] Speaker 3: That's pretty cool.
[37:51] Speaker 1: Because like Nora's watching this with me. She's going, look,
[37:53] Speaker 1: these rings. She's like.
[37:55] Speaker 3: They're so ugly.
[37:56] Speaker 1: Like who's going to wear that? They're so big. I'm like, yeah,
[37:58] Speaker 1: I get it. They're almost like a, they're almost like
[38:00] Speaker 1: a trophy for the players, right? They're so large. I
[38:02] Speaker 1: guess you technically can wear them.
[38:04] Speaker 3: Tariko goes, good luck wearing those. Come on, Mike.
[38:08] Speaker 1: But then when it popped up, when they showed that
[38:11] Speaker 1: it turns into Madison Square Garden with the colors, Nora
[38:13] Speaker 1: was like, okay, that's pretty fricking cool.
[38:16] Speaker 3: You could live there.
[38:16] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[38:17] Speaker 2: Yeah. Jason of Beverly Hills said, this is one of
[38:20] Speaker 2: a kind, which I don't know if anyone has ever
[38:24] Speaker 2: sort of And the entire arena pops out. You're seeing
[38:27] Speaker 2: it from the exterior. I don't know if that's ever
[38:30] Speaker 2: been done. I don't think so. But it does look badass.
[38:32] Speaker 2: I got to admit that.
[38:33] Speaker 1: You can buy these, apparently. They're selling 200 of them
[38:36] Speaker 1: to Knicks fans that want to buy them for, I think, $ 20, 000.
[38:40] Speaker 3: Okay, I'll pass. Each.
[38:43] Speaker 1: Yes, each. You can't get a bulk order.
[38:46] Speaker 2: I mean, it looks like it costs a lot.
[38:49] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[38:49] Speaker 2: The amount of manufacturing that happens, yes.
[38:52] Speaker 1: One of the details, too, it doesn't say 10 weeks
[38:55] Speaker 1: on it underneath, like in the band part.
[38:57] Speaker 2: Oh, really?
[38:58] Speaker 1: Remember the 10 weeks?
[38:59] Speaker 2: That's hilarious.
[39:00] Speaker 1: I wish there was like a little photo of two
[39:02] Speaker 1: people having sex and it's like crossed out because that
[39:04] Speaker 1: was what they were saying.
[39:05] Speaker 2: Yeah. No sex allowed.
[39:06] Speaker 1: No sex for 10 weeks.
[39:08] Speaker 2: This is what wet dreams are made of. That's what
[39:11] Speaker 2: it should say.
[39:12] Speaker 1: And then finally, finally, what'd you think, Trey, of those
[39:18] Speaker 1: Knicks gold uniforms that they had? I mean, this is
[39:23] Speaker 1: a first. This is a nice touch. Yeah, so you
[39:25] Speaker 1: like this.
[39:26] Speaker 3: I really liked it. I thought that was pretty slick.
[39:28] Speaker 1: Like, everything was gold. Like, obviously the front, the New
[39:31] Speaker 1: York part, the numbers, the name on the back, the
[39:33] Speaker 1: number on the back, and then you had the patch
[39:36] Speaker 1: as well.
[39:36] Speaker 3: Did the Celtics not do this?
[39:39] Speaker 2: That sounds familiar. They've had gold jerseys, but I don't
[39:42] Speaker 2: know if they did it for a championship.
[39:43] Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know if they did it for the championship.
[39:46] Speaker 3: But it's cool. I like it. And, you know... Like
[39:50] Speaker 3: a lot of people, I'm sure, I was thinking, how
[39:53] Speaker 3: come Andre Drummond gets one of these? Everybody else in
[39:57] Speaker 3: the Knicks was there. They should have had Andre Drummond
[39:59] Speaker 3: playing in just like his normal orange version of it.
[40:03] Speaker 3: But then he played so well, and Knicks fans were
[40:06] Speaker 3: going crazy for him. He was doing his Andre Drummond stuff.
[40:09] Speaker 3: He earned the gold to me.
[40:10] Speaker 2: He had a double-double in 11 minutes.
[40:11] Speaker 1: Then he sort of disappeared.
[40:13] Speaker 3: True.
[40:13] Speaker 1: That's the Drummond experience.
[40:14] Speaker 3: Yeah, you got enough from him. I just was feeling like...
[40:18] Speaker 3: He did feel like a champion to me last night,
[40:21] Speaker 3: by the end of the night.
[40:21] Speaker 1: Yeah, he played like a champion.
[40:22] Speaker 3: He did.
[40:23] Speaker 2: I will say, the guy that he saved in this game, Cat,
[40:26] Speaker 2: he cried a lot in the opening intros. Oh, did he?
[40:30] Speaker 3: I didn't really notice.
[40:31] Speaker 2: This was, again, the in-arena feed.
[40:33] Speaker 1: Oh, you're watching something else.
[40:34] Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, I use my NBA.com, and somehow I'm watching.
[40:39] Speaker 2: Cat was literally wiping his tears, but double-hand. There was
[40:44] Speaker 2: a lot of tears going on there for Cat. It was...
[40:47] Speaker 2: It was touching. But I do want to confirm, Trey,
[40:50] Speaker 2: that there will be the Ben Stiller documentary happening.
[40:53] Speaker 3: Oh, yes. I think I got got.
[40:55] Speaker 1: You got got yesterday.
[40:56] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[40:57] Speaker 1: By a fake account or like a scam account.
[40:59] Speaker 2: Because Mike Tirico said Ben Stiller's got great footage. He
[41:03] Speaker 2: got some great footage tonight during the broadcast.
[41:06] Speaker 3: Okay.
[41:06] Speaker 1: You got to start putting this thing together, Ben.
[41:08] Speaker 2: Cut it. He said he got, what was it? has
[41:12] Speaker 2: a great shot of Tracy Morgan crying tonight when the
[41:14] Speaker 2: banner went up. Tariqo is giving you the director's cut
[41:18] Speaker 2: of what could be in the documentary.
[41:21] Speaker 1: In this eventual documentary.
[41:22] Speaker 2: Yeah, that was hilarious.
[41:23] Speaker 3: He's a good friend of Mike Tariqo and Tracy Morgan
[41:26] Speaker 3: seem to be like good friends now from sitting at
[41:29] Speaker 3: so many Knicks games together. That's true.
[41:30] Speaker 1: He's right there. He's right next to them. They did
[41:33] Speaker 1: something different too. No Adam Silver handing out the rings. True.
[41:37] Speaker 1: It was Walt Frazier, which is cool. But Silver really wasn't...
[41:41] Speaker 1: Silver was there, but he wasn't really involved in it.
[41:43] Speaker 1: And then even James Dolan, too, wasn't all that involved
[41:47] Speaker 1: as the owner of the Knicks. And it was giving
[41:50] Speaker 1: me a little anxiety of how they did the championship
[41:54] Speaker 1: rings for the coaching staff. Like, awesome touch having former
[41:59] Speaker 1: Knicks legends or their loved ones and relatives hand them.
[42:03] Speaker 1: But they were like... They weren't in order.
[42:06] Speaker 3: No, not at all.
[42:07] Speaker 1: The chairs, the musical chairs was like just strange.
[42:11] Speaker 3: When you hear your name, meet your counterpart in the middle,
[42:15] Speaker 3: hand in the ring. One guy had two rings in
[42:17] Speaker 3: his hand. I don't know why. I was like, no, I.
[42:20] Speaker 1: Didn't like that part. Can we just put them next
[42:22] Speaker 1: to them? That would have been a lot easier. But anyway,
[42:24] Speaker 1: there's a little switch up there. Anything else from Nick
[42:27] Speaker 1: Sixer's opening night?
[42:28] Speaker 3: You could hear the crowd cheering. singing who let the
[42:31] Speaker 3: dogs out when they introduced mike.
[42:33] Speaker 1: Brown yeah they love mike brown they love og of
[42:36] Speaker 1: course they love jalen brunson their captain who said a
[42:39] Speaker 1: few words i mean they love them all don't get
[42:41] Speaker 1: me wrong but those guys get the biggest pops to
[42:43] Speaker 1: me og and mike brown especially yeah anything.
[42:46] Speaker 2: Else yeah hopefully mike brown and the carl anthony towns
[42:50] Speaker 2: relationship is good he was just mad at the defense
[42:53] Speaker 2: being played i think they'll write it in game number
[42:56] Speaker 2: two but I just wondered, as Cat was talking trash,
[42:59] Speaker 2: does he picture James Dolan as he talks trash to
[43:02] Speaker 2: the guy who's guarding him, just because James Dolan hasn't
[43:05] Speaker 2: given him the contract? That was, yeah, it just wasn't
[43:09] Speaker 2: a good Cat game.
[43:09] Speaker 1: Cat took himself out of this game, as he's been
[43:11] Speaker 1: known to do.
[43:12] Speaker 2: Yeah, Andre Drummond literally saved him in that first half. Again,
[43:15] Speaker 2: Cat played only six minutes. I will say just the
[43:18] Speaker 2: Vijay Edgecombe experience as well, bad offensive night for him.
[43:25] Speaker 1: But he's sort of one of these guys, like you
[43:27] Speaker 1: can tell, like he's tasked with trying to slow the
[43:29] Speaker 1: offense player on the other team.
[43:30] Speaker 3: Right.
[43:31] Speaker 2: That's his job.
[43:31] Speaker 1: Got some chances there on Brunson, yeah.
[43:32] Speaker 2: Yeah. So they clicked on that side, but they didn't
[43:37] Speaker 2: truly click. Not just Edgecombe, but everybody on that roster.
[43:39] Speaker 2: But they have so much talent, they're going to be fine.
[43:42] Speaker 2: I wonder if Vijay Edgecombe ever thinks, huh, LeBron just
[43:45] Speaker 2: said a few games, man. I can score. Don't worry,
[43:48] Speaker 2: he will.
[43:48] Speaker 3: He probably does think that.
[43:51] Speaker 1: He will, don't worry. He knows how to pace himself
[43:54] Speaker 1: for a long season. All right, let's get to the
[43:57] Speaker 1: first game, but our final game here on No Dunks.
[44:00] Speaker 1: I'll go first here. It's just one game, but Javante
[44:04] Speaker 1: Green has peaked. For this season. So I had three
[44:08] Speaker 1: options here. They were all Javante Green related. Javante Green
[44:11] Speaker 1: just played the best game of his life was one option.
[44:14] Speaker 1: That was a Javante Green podium game. And then I
[44:16] Speaker 1: went with Javante Green peaked just because we're supposed to
[44:18] Speaker 1: be almost a little more crazy with our overreactions. But man,
[44:21] Speaker 1: what a game for this guy. 19 points in 18
[44:25] Speaker 1: second half minutes. He didn't even play in the first half.
[44:28] Speaker 1: He came in, he completely changed around the game by
[44:30] Speaker 1: knocking down threes. Five of eight from deep. It's his
[44:33] Speaker 1: best three point shooting game of his career. He's had
[44:36] Speaker 1: a couple good games, like, where he scored 24, 25 points.
[44:40] Speaker 1: They were, like, end of April games with the Chicago Bulls.
[44:43] Speaker 1: You know, they were fighting for a playing spot, so
[44:45] Speaker 1: they weren't, like, meaningless games. But, you know, late April
[44:49] Speaker 1: with the Bulls. This was, like, you know, big, big game.
[44:51] Speaker 1: A lot of eyeballs on this matinee game. And he
[44:53] Speaker 1: was awesome. Him and Duncan Robinson just, like, single-handedly. Not single-handedly. Like,
[44:57] Speaker 1: they brought the Pistons back in that second half where
[45:00] Speaker 1: they just started bombing threes. And, what, the 22-point lead
[45:04] Speaker 1: for the Celtics just evaporated. which is like last year
[45:07] Speaker 1: is like when they got up that much, they actually
[45:10] Speaker 1: held on to those 20-plus point leads. I think Keats
[45:15] Speaker 1: there had the stat that they were 38-0 last year,
[45:17] Speaker 1: the Boston Celtics were, when they went up by 20-plus
[45:20] Speaker 1: points in the regular season and the postseason. And here
[45:23] Speaker 1: they are giving away a 22-point lead. But it was
[45:25] Speaker 1: really Javante Green and Duncan Robinson there to get them
[45:28] Speaker 1: back in.
[45:29] Speaker 2: Yeah, literally checked in seven and a half minutes into
[45:31] Speaker 2: the third quarter and then turns it on. splashing threes,
[45:35] Speaker 2: as you said, five threes for that guy. If there's
[45:38] Speaker 2: any actual definition of a journeyman and if the face
[45:41] Speaker 2: goes up, it's this guy. I mean, he's like, he's
[45:43] Speaker 2: old now, you know, he's been around, you know, sometimes
[45:45] Speaker 2: the journeyman gets thrown at, thrown on the guys who've
[45:48] Speaker 2: been like in the league for a few years. This
[45:50] Speaker 2: guy's bounced around and it is just phenomenal at him
[45:55] Speaker 2: and other guys off the bench were able to bring
[45:57] Speaker 2: this team back in this game. It's, reminiscent of what
[46:02] Speaker 2: they did last year and that their second unit was really,
[46:05] Speaker 2: really important because besides Cade, who's going to set everybody
[46:08] Speaker 2: else up? Sir Thompson did that, but then you get
[46:10] Speaker 2: guys jumping in to help find Javante Green. I thought
[46:15] Speaker 2: Kevin Herter, even a couple of assists, Isaiah Joe, a
[46:17] Speaker 2: couple of assists, Paul Reed was spectacular with a couple
[46:19] Speaker 2: of assists. So the Pistons effort beyond Cade did it.
[46:25] Speaker 2: And it's surprising that, But I guess we shouldn't be
[46:28] Speaker 2: surprised in that this is how they won 60 games
[46:30] Speaker 2: last year. You don't know who their number two is
[46:34] Speaker 2: because you get it from two through 10 during the
[46:37] Speaker 2: regular season.
[46:38] Speaker 1: The Pistons made 15 threes yesterday. They managed to do
[46:41] Speaker 1: that 15 times last year, and they went 13-2 in
[46:45] Speaker 1: those games. So a part of the equation here is
[46:47] Speaker 1: we need more shooters, more spacing around Cade and Jalen Duren,
[46:50] Speaker 1: and Asar Thompson for that matter. And so Duncan Robinson, great,
[46:55] Speaker 1: like I said. Obviously, Javante Green, I don't know if
[46:57] Speaker 1: we'll see that again this year from him in terms
[47:00] Speaker 1: of shooting the three ball. He's not like a great
[47:01] Speaker 1: three-point shooter or an elite three-point shooter. But then maybe
[47:04] Speaker 1: it's an Isaiah Joe game. Maybe it is a Herter game.
[47:06] Speaker 1: So I think they're going to approach this like, hey, hey,
[47:09] Speaker 1: if we got like four or five of these guys,
[47:11] Speaker 1: if one or two of them can sort of like
[47:13] Speaker 1: just time it in each game, that'll be enough maybe.
[47:16] Speaker 1: But that was a big part, TK, of the comeback here. Oh,
[47:19] Speaker 1: that was.
[47:20] Speaker 3: Pretty much the entirety of the comeback, I thought, was
[47:22] Speaker 3: catching fire from three. So I'm maybe going to be
[47:25] Speaker 3: advocating Javante Green MIP. He's got to be the leader
[47:29] Speaker 3: in the clubhouse after one day.
[47:30] Speaker 2: Most improved.
[47:31] Speaker 3: Wow.
[47:31] Speaker 1: Jesus.
[47:32] Speaker 2: Yeah, probably.
[47:32] Speaker 1: What do you average?
[47:34] Speaker 2: Under. After one day.
[47:36] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[47:37] Speaker 3: After one day, he's shooting 63% from three. I think
[47:39] Speaker 3: he's got it. But Duncan Robinson gets him up. Yeah,
[47:42] Speaker 3: he's got a quick trigger. Isaiah Joe gets him up.
[47:45] Speaker 3: And I mean, Green will take him at least. He's
[47:47] Speaker 3: not going to be a shooter. It's not going to
[47:48] Speaker 3: be a 63% season, I don't think. But if they
[47:51] Speaker 3: get enough three-point shooting, that's the key. Because I thought
[47:53] Speaker 3: Cade played a good game. Not very outstanding, but it's
[47:58] Speaker 3: like he was scoring four points here, four points there.
[48:01] Speaker 3: It was just enough to keep the Pistons ticking over,
[48:03] Speaker 3: ticking over, ticking over. And finally, the dam broke. They
[48:06] Speaker 3: caught fire from three and knocked them down. So I
[48:08] Speaker 3: thought the way Cade was playing was pretty smart. Still
[48:10] Speaker 3: a few careless turnovers, but at least he was producing
[48:14] Speaker 3: through the entire four quarters, not just the second half.
[48:16] Speaker 3: And Duren was pretty solid as well. I also thought
[48:19] Speaker 3: huge for a Sar Thompson to basically hit the dagger
[48:22] Speaker 3: jumper on the mid range. Didn't necessarily look like he
[48:26] Speaker 3: wanted to shoot from outside in this game. He was
[48:28] Speaker 3: being left open a lot. So to hit that shot
[48:31] Speaker 3: when it really matters, I think has to be big
[48:33] Speaker 3: for him going forward saying, yeah, I can take a
[48:34] Speaker 3: jumper every now and then. Everybody's going to be happy
[48:37] Speaker 3: that I took it. They'll be even more happy if
[48:39] Speaker 3: it goes in.
[48:39] Speaker 1: It goes in, yeah. That was like, yeah, with like
[48:41] Speaker 1: 40 seconds left. We put the Pistons up six to
[48:43] Speaker 1: sort of close the door on any chance of the
[48:46] Speaker 1: Celtics getting back into it.
[48:47] Speaker 2: Yeah. We came into the season wondering, okay, the Jalen
[48:50] Speaker 2: Dern drama. Tobias Harris out. How are these guys going
[48:54] Speaker 2: to come through? And somehow they did. And a big
[48:57] Speaker 2: part of it, I think, again, we're seeing up and
[49:00] Speaker 2: down the roster, guys contributing. Paul Reed, who had the...
[49:05] Speaker 2: The party in the playoffs came through in this game, too.
[49:08] Speaker 2: We thought, as a backup point guard, who do they have?
[49:11] Speaker 2: They drafted Ibuka, Corey. Maybe it could be that guy,
[49:14] Speaker 2: but they let Marcus Sasser go. It was Dennis Jenkins
[49:17] Speaker 2: was solid in this game.
[49:18] Speaker 3: Again....
[49:20] Speaker 2: Should we be surprised if this team wins 55 games?
[49:23] Speaker 2: I know it sounds like a lot.
[49:25] Speaker 1: Probably not.
[49:26] Speaker 2: But we shouldn't be.
[49:27] Speaker 1: Because their defense is still going to be solid. They
[49:30] Speaker 1: cranked it up. They obviously were a little disappointed in
[49:32] Speaker 1: how they played. I mean, Paul George was on fire,
[49:34] Speaker 1: and I'm sure we'll get into him a little bit more.
[49:36] Speaker 1: But there was like that timeout at halftime. They had
[49:39] Speaker 1: to have been like, what are we doing? Come on.
[49:40] Speaker 1: Like at least let's give us a chance on the
[49:42] Speaker 1: defensive end. And they just ramped up the intensity and
[49:45] Speaker 1: like sort of like took away a lot of sort
[49:47] Speaker 1: of ball movement or anything the Celtics were trying to do.
[49:49] Speaker 1: And everything was on the perimeter. Now the Celtics, like
[49:52] Speaker 1: that's part of their game.
[49:52] Speaker 2: I get that.
[49:53] Speaker 1: But yeah, they're going to win a lot of games
[49:55] Speaker 1: because of that alone. And then you've got Cade obviously
[49:58] Speaker 1: in clutch time. Him and Jalen Duren still have a
[50:00] Speaker 1: great one-two game. And then they just got to hope
[50:03] Speaker 1: enough guys can hit shots, which I guess they did.
[50:05] Speaker 2: And play make that, that was the sort of the
[50:07] Speaker 2: worrisome part is I think I have enough guys who
[50:09] Speaker 2: can secondary creator for sure. Yeah. And so you got
[50:13] Speaker 2: to have a Danis game. Sean Collins did that a
[50:15] Speaker 2: little bit last night, not a ton, but yeah, they
[50:18] Speaker 2: all have to sort of contribute. I will say this
[50:21] Speaker 2: isn't because Jalen Durant has evolved by any means. He
[50:23] Speaker 2: was getting, you know, the drop offs, uh, mainly the
[50:26] Speaker 2: offensive rebounds. Uh, you know, he, I thought he had
[50:30] Speaker 2: a spectacular, put it on the floor once, and then
[50:32] Speaker 2: he missed by a mile on one of them. So
[50:34] Speaker 2: that hasn't changed about Jalen Dern. We'll still be skeptical
[50:37] Speaker 2: when it comes to the postseason, but it's, yeah, this
[50:40] Speaker 2: is real Detroit basketball, real blue-collar stuff, guys working, and
[50:43] Speaker 2: that's what they did in the third quarter.
[50:44] Speaker 1: The only thing that maybe has you scratching your head
[50:46] Speaker 1: or maybe you're a little disappointed if you're a Pistons
[50:48] Speaker 1: fan today is like, Ron Holland was not really a
[50:51] Speaker 1: part of the equation there yesterday. Now, maybe it is
[50:53] Speaker 1: because they get down so much, and then you're like, well,
[50:55] Speaker 1: if we're going to get back, we're going to need
[50:57] Speaker 1: some three-point shooting. But he barely played. I think he
[51:00] Speaker 1: only saw the floor like three or four minutes.
[51:02] Speaker 2: It's Gervonta time.
[51:04] Speaker 1: It's one game. Yeah, exactly. And again, I think it
[51:06] Speaker 1: is like, well, we're going to have to bomb away
[51:08] Speaker 1: a little bit to get back into this.
[51:09] Speaker 2: I think Green did hit five threes last year. It
[51:11] Speaker 2: happens sometimes with Gervonta Green.
[51:14] Speaker 1: Will he have a game where he hits five plus threes?
[51:17] Speaker 2: Again.
[51:17] Speaker 1: This season, yeah. or am i or my overreaction be
[51:20] Speaker 1: correct i mean.
[51:21] Speaker 2: It's yeah it looks like one and done probably i
[51:24] Speaker 2: mean that's a lot.
[51:25] Speaker 1: He was feeling it i mean he's left wide open
[51:27] Speaker 1: too yeah and a couple of those like they're like
[51:30] Speaker 1: okay let him shoot.
[51:31] Speaker 2: It yeah but paul reed's setting him up i mean
[51:33] Speaker 2: this was yeah flashbacks of last year in the playoffs
[51:35] Speaker 2: okay he was paul reed was coming through and those
[51:38] Speaker 2: were falling to the floor throwing it to jalen or
[51:41] Speaker 2: excuse me to um giovanni green in the corner those
[51:44] Speaker 2: are That was a nice pass.
[51:46] Speaker 3: The Duncan Robinson one was a nice pass as well.
[51:48] Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
[51:49] Speaker 1: What did you think from the Celtics side of things here?
[51:51] Speaker 1: And Jason Tatum with a brutal first game here. What,
[51:56] Speaker 1: 6 of 23? So 13 points. He had a lot
[51:58] Speaker 1: of assists, but he was missing layups in the first half.
[52:02] Speaker 1: Couldn't hit a three to save his life. Yeah, what
[52:04] Speaker 1: did you think?
[52:04] Speaker 3: I think it's funny that the Celtics were so good
[52:06] Speaker 3: at holding on to leads last year because this felt
[52:09] Speaker 3: like vintage Celtics to me. We build a humongous lead
[52:12] Speaker 3: by making three-pointers and then we blow a humongous lead
[52:15] Speaker 3: by chucking three pointers. One of the issues that it
[52:19] Speaker 3: was easy to foresee for the Celtics is they don't
[52:21] Speaker 3: get a lot of two pointers, right? Like they don't
[52:23] Speaker 3: put a ton of pressure on the rim. Tatum has
[52:26] Speaker 3: become more of a mid range master, uh, at this
[52:29] Speaker 3: point in his career, at least since returning, uh, from
[52:31] Speaker 3: the injury. So we'll see if he's able to start
[52:33] Speaker 3: getting some layups, but a lot of their things were
[52:37] Speaker 3: alley-oops from the perimeter, uh, to Mitchell Robinson or Namiish
[52:40] Speaker 3: Keita or offensive rebounds. The, uh, some of the most
[52:43] Speaker 3: reliable twos they get are Pritchard getting into his bag
[52:46] Speaker 3: and hitting impossible shots. That's not necessarily an effective way
[52:50] Speaker 3: to live offensively. So anytime you see the Celtics blow
[52:55] Speaker 3: a lead, it feels like it's going to happen the
[52:57] Speaker 3: same way. They get it by hot shooting and they
[53:00] Speaker 3: lose it by cold shooting and then just compound it
[53:02] Speaker 3: by taking more and more jump shots. Like when you're
[53:05] Speaker 3: seeing the lead evaporate and Tatum goes into a pull up,
[53:08] Speaker 3: you're like, come on, man. All we want is some
[53:10] Speaker 3: free throws.
[53:10] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[53:11] Speaker 1: One free throw attempt for Tatum.
[53:13] Speaker 2: Yeah, he was trying to get hot. He was trying
[53:17] Speaker 2: to hit one. He was forcing a little bit, even
[53:19] Speaker 2: on the fast break. Peyton Pritchard's right there, but he
[53:20] Speaker 2: forces it to the rim. And so he was just
[53:23] Speaker 2: trying to find anything, and it was not there. Yeah,
[53:26] Speaker 2: even we're talking about broadcasters here on opening night, even
[53:29] Speaker 2: Brian Scalabrini, former Celtic, was saying, hey, there's a lot
[53:33] Speaker 2: of jump shots here. Yeah. You touch that paint a
[53:36] Speaker 2: little bit, and they were not.
[53:38] Speaker 1: Paul George was on fire, though.
[53:39] Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh. Oh, yeah, he was.
[53:40] Speaker 1: What a debut for this guy.
[53:42] Speaker 2: That was a surprising stat.
[53:44] Speaker 1: The surprising stat that he set the... record for a
[53:47] Speaker 1: debut in celtics uniform.
[53:48] Speaker 2: Yeah like in celtic history that is a lot of
[53:51] Speaker 2: point no but he was it was at 31 even.
[53:53] Speaker 1: Yeah porzingis had 30 yeah he had it previously that
[53:56] Speaker 1: was kind of he could he was he looked great
[53:58] Speaker 1: he was hot yeah he was shooting like darts yeah
[54:01] Speaker 1: i feel like paul george usually i think of him
[54:03] Speaker 1: as a high arcing three-point shooter and these were like
[54:05] Speaker 1: line drives so he was completely locked in he was
[54:08] Speaker 1: taking tough shots too and He's a guy where when
[54:10] Speaker 1: he's feeling it, he's.
[54:11] Speaker 3: Like, I'll take an even more impossible shot. And then
[54:13] Speaker 3: it looks cool when it goes up.
[54:15] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[54:16] Speaker 1: If they had won the game, you know, maybe because
[54:18] Speaker 1: you inspired me with your Brandon Miller nicknames yesterday. But
[54:22] Speaker 1: I was thinking, OK, he goes by Podcast P, Playoff P.
[54:26] Speaker 1: I was like, maybe Pizza P? because he's cooking in
[54:29] Speaker 1: the Little Caesars Arena. Could have done a deep dive.
[54:31] Speaker 1: Maybe he's always good in that arena. I don't know,
[54:34] Speaker 1: but of course it doesn't matter in the end.
[54:36] Speaker 2: Pizza P.
[54:36] Speaker 1: Pizza P, I don't know.
[54:37] Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[54:38] Speaker 1: Something like that. He was awesome. And a big reason
[54:41] Speaker 1: why they had the huge lead.
[54:42] Speaker 2: Yeah, scary win. He was so spectacular. Plus nine when
[54:46] Speaker 2: he's on the floor, and the team was minus 17
[54:48] Speaker 2: when he went to the bench. He got pumped. When
[54:52] Speaker 2: Paul George was on the bench, that was surprising that
[54:55] Speaker 2: they would get beat by that bat. considering they're supposed
[54:59] Speaker 2: to be extremely deep and Joe Mizzou was supposed to
[55:02] Speaker 2: roll out guys and they're supposed to be entirely fine
[55:04] Speaker 2: and the Paul George bench minutes would be taken care of,
[55:07] Speaker 2: but they were not.
[55:08] Speaker 1: No, I couldn't believe, I watched the entire game and
[55:15] Speaker 1: I was like, after the game, I was like, oh, okay,
[55:18] Speaker 1: we saw Shireman. Okay, it was fine. I guess it
[55:20] Speaker 1: wasn't spectacular. You know, Jordan Walsh got the start. He's
[55:23] Speaker 1: out there for defensive purposes. I get that. You know, Pritchard,
[55:26] Speaker 1: he's a great six-man. He comes off the bench. Hauser, okay.
[55:30] Speaker 1: Luka Garza, I think he sort of stinks. But I
[55:33] Speaker 1: was like, oh, no Hugo. No Gonzalez. You know, like
[55:36] Speaker 1: this superstar in the making here. I'm like, wait, hold on.
[55:41] Speaker 1: I saw the box score. He's like, he played? I
[55:44] Speaker 1: did not notice that he had played. Because he was
[55:48] Speaker 1: a nothing burger. So not great. He only played 10 minutes.
[55:50] Speaker 1: So it wasn't a lot of minutes, but he did
[55:51] Speaker 1: next to nothing out there. So that, you know, not great. Now,
[55:56] Speaker 1: whether it's really true or not, I heard Bill Simmons
[55:58] Speaker 1: already getting upset about it. The narrative around they didn't
[56:01] Speaker 1: want to trade for Giannis because they didn't want to
[56:03] Speaker 1: give up those guys. He says that's not really true.
[56:05] Speaker 2: Okay.
[56:06] Speaker 1: But like, look, that's what a lot of people are
[56:09] Speaker 1: now believing. And you'd like to see these guys play
[56:11] Speaker 1: well to sort of like quiet that. And they did not.
[56:15] Speaker 2: No.
[56:15] Speaker 3: Shireman was hooping, man. Shireman was hooping.
[56:18] Speaker 1: Comparatively. Comparatively, yeah. But man, Hugo, I couldn't even believe it.
[56:22] Speaker 1: I was like, I literally didn't notice. And I should
[56:24] Speaker 1: have because he got cooked a couple times. They were
[56:26] Speaker 1: going at him.
[56:27] Speaker 3: His contributions don't show up in the box score, okay?
[56:30] Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess not. Literally.
[56:34] Speaker 2: You say Shireman, I think his peak is kind of
[56:36] Speaker 2: like Shireman in that he'll be able to shoot threes,
[56:40] Speaker 2: I think. He'll be able to finish out the rim,
[56:42] Speaker 2: I think. He'll be able to defend, I think. But
[56:43] Speaker 2: he doesn't have an in-between game, I don't think, after
[56:46] Speaker 2: watching him. I get excited watching him because he puts
[56:48] Speaker 2: in the effort. He'll grab a board here, tip a
[56:51] Speaker 2: ball here, do the right things. A Joe Mazzulla type
[56:54] Speaker 2: of guy. But he's not going to lead your offense.
[56:59] Speaker 2: They're hoping that Jason Tatum doesn't do what he just did.
[57:01] Speaker 2: Pritchard and Derek White have it going. I don't think
[57:04] Speaker 2: we can expect a lot from Hugo. But should they
[57:07] Speaker 2: start Jordan Walsh? Should they start more of a shooter
[57:11] Speaker 2: out there?
[57:12] Speaker 1: I think they're thinking he's only out there for defensive purposes.
[57:15] Speaker 1: He is a good defender. He tries really hard.
[57:17] Speaker 2: But maybe Sam Sam? Maybe it's Hauser?
[57:20] Speaker 3: Sam Sam?
[57:21] Speaker 1: Sam Sam Hauser? We'll see.
[57:23] Speaker 2: Yeah, thanks.
[57:24] Speaker 1: They might try things.
[57:26] Speaker 2: They have to change that. And I think that gives
[57:27] Speaker 2: more space to Tatum if Sam Houser's out there instead
[57:31] Speaker 2: of Jordan Walsh. Because you've got to respect Houser's shot.
[57:35] Speaker 1: Who had a worse opening day slash night? Jason Tatum
[57:38] Speaker 1: or Victor Wemenyama? Who you got?
[57:42] Speaker 3: I mean, it's got to be Wemby.
[57:46] Speaker 1: Okay, but the counter is Tatum. Okay, he plays poorly.
[57:51] Speaker 1: It was pretty bad stats, too. And Jalen Brown did
[57:54] Speaker 1: win for the Sixers.
[57:55] Speaker 3: Fair point. Fair point.
[57:57] Speaker 2: And, you know, the argument for Wemby is, as the
[58:03] Speaker 2: worst game, Chet outplayed him. Similar.
[58:06] Speaker 3: Fair, fair.
[58:08] Speaker 1: Get the poll going for the people in the stream team.
[58:11] Speaker 2: Or the J.
[58:14] Speaker 3: What everybody think of the 3 p.m.
[58:15] Speaker 1: Start?
[58:16] Speaker 3: To our NBA season.
[58:18] Speaker 1: I loved it, but one issue. Lawn care guys.
[58:22] Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. Blowing leaves.
[58:26] Speaker 1: I got two things going on in my neighborhood. My
[58:28] Speaker 1: neighbor had the lawn care guys show up. So I'm
[58:31] Speaker 1: like struggling to hear the game as they're blowing around shit.
[58:35] Speaker 1: And then they're like building, you know, like townhomes behind
[58:39] Speaker 1: our property and they're getting closer and closer and they're
[58:41] Speaker 1: banging away. It was loud. You want me to put
[58:44] Speaker 1: on headphones?
[58:45] Speaker 2: Yeah, I do it in the morning. Where I watch,
[58:48] Speaker 2: it's too close to my kids.
[58:49] Speaker 1: You're waking up at 5 in the morning to watch
[58:51] Speaker 1: these games. You've got to keep quiet.
[58:52] Speaker 2: Here in the South, school starts early for the kids,
[58:55] Speaker 2: so I'm hearing the kids. I'm like, yeah, I've got
[58:57] Speaker 2: to put on my headphones. See you later, kids!
[59:00] Speaker 1: Otherwise, I loved it. I liked it.
[59:02] Speaker 3: It didn't feel like an event to me.
[59:06] Speaker 1: No, but it's like I mean still basketball on that's
[59:09] Speaker 1: fun it.
[59:10] Speaker 3: Was like it felt to me like the equivalent of
[59:13] Speaker 3: watching curling qualifiers in the Olympics before they've done the
[59:16] Speaker 3: opening ceremonies like yeah this counts but I gotta see
[59:20] Speaker 3: the banner before I.
[59:21] Speaker 1: Believe it's real they need to take the oath before
[59:25] Speaker 1: I trust this Olympics What'd you think?
[59:30] Speaker 2: I agree with Trey. It didn't feel like, hey, this
[59:33] Speaker 2: is the first game of the season, especially.
[59:35] Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, it's like their third team on it, first off.
[59:39] Speaker 1: No offense to Terry Gannon.
[59:42] Speaker 3: Yeah. I laughed a lot. Asar Thompson hit the 360 lamp,
[59:47] Speaker 3: and I go, that looks like something you'd see in
[59:49] Speaker 3: figure skating, Terry.
[59:51] Speaker 1: He went dead quiet, too. I think that one cut, man.
[59:54] Speaker 1: That one hurt.
[59:55] Speaker 3: He's like, God, dude. They're all amazing athletes, okay?
[59:58] Speaker 1: And they are. And they are. I love figure skating.
[1:00:00] Speaker 2: I'm trying to look at, you know, the videos on NBA.com.
[1:00:04] Speaker 2: It's a phone video, so... Give me a second. This
[1:00:07] Speaker 2: might take 30 seconds, but I think it had the
[1:00:09] Speaker 2: same headline. Or maybe I'm mistaken.
[1:00:11] Speaker 1: What do you mean?
[1:00:11] Speaker 2: Asar did the spin. A little 360.
[1:00:14] Speaker 1: I mean, it was almost a 360.
[1:00:16] Speaker 2: Maybe I'm imagining.
[1:00:18] Speaker 1: People are wondering, did he fart when he did it?
[1:00:20] Speaker 1: That's the real question.
[1:00:22] Speaker 2: NBA.com was just a plain headline. Maybe I was just
[1:00:25] Speaker 2: imagining that it did look like figure skating. Like I
[1:00:27] Speaker 2: was hearing Terry Gannon on the call with Robbie on
[1:00:31] Speaker 2: one bench and Brian on the other. Robbie Hummel and
[1:00:34] Speaker 2: Brian Scalabrini and Terry Gannon. Yeah, maybe it's that part
[1:00:37] Speaker 2: of why it didn't feel like it was.
[1:00:39] Speaker 1: Yeah, I think a part of it, yes.
[1:00:41] Speaker 2: The absolute A-team.
[1:00:43] Speaker 1: Still, it was NBA basketball.
[1:00:44] Speaker 2: It was.
[1:00:45] Speaker 3: It was exciting. <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL>.
[1:00:49] Speaker 1: <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL>
[1:00:58] Speaker 1: Pistons got playing a little more physical defense there, and
[1:01:00] Speaker 1: then they started hitting threes themselves. Did you notice how
[1:01:03] Speaker 1: hilariously smoky it was in the Little Caesars Arena to
[1:01:06] Speaker 1: start that game?
[1:01:07] Speaker 3: Quite hazy.
[1:01:08] Speaker 1: And doing their fireworks and stuff, I'm sure, whatever, their pyrotechnics.
[1:01:11] Speaker 1: You see this in some arenas, but that one, man,
[1:01:14] Speaker 1: I know Cleveland's pretty bad. Detroit, it was so smoky.
[1:01:18] Speaker 2: The pizzas were just on fire, I think.
[1:01:21] Speaker 1: Take them out.
[1:01:21] Speaker 2: But I think it does happen with their pyrotechnics, if
[1:01:24] Speaker 2: I'm not mistaken.
[1:01:25] Speaker 1: Cleveland comes to mind for sure. I know they're always
[1:01:28] Speaker 1: super hazy. Detroit may be on the list. Let's hear
[1:01:31] Speaker 1: the other ones.
[1:01:33] Speaker 3: Kid Rock. What?
[1:01:37] Speaker 1: He's up late, man.
[1:01:38] Speaker 3: I'm telling you. I'm feeling playful this morning.
[1:01:42] Speaker 1: Any other random notes from Piston Celtics? Piston's big win. No,
[1:01:49] Speaker 1: you don't want to talk about Kevin Herter's head, man.
[1:01:51] Speaker 2: You of all guys. No, I'm saving it.
[1:01:53] Speaker 3: I'm saving it. I was actually, I am trying to
[1:01:56] Speaker 3: keep track of.
[1:01:57] Speaker 2: I'm saving it.
[1:01:58] Speaker 3: I got a lot of thoughts. No, but by the
[1:02:01] Speaker 3: end of tonight, I'll have a good read on players
[1:02:03] Speaker 3: who started wearing headbands this season.
[1:02:05] Speaker 1: Okay, okay. I mean, yeah, he's one of them.
[1:02:07] Speaker 3: He brought it back. He had it in the Sacramento days.
[1:02:09] Speaker 1: He's got a lot of hair.
[1:02:10] Speaker 3: A lot of hair.
[1:02:11] Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like Reed Shepard out there.
[1:02:13] Speaker 1: Yeah, it's so funny now with Herter because of what
[1:02:15] Speaker 1: I've said on the show. I think he's terribly overrated
[1:02:18] Speaker 1: and stopped talking about him. I now have to actively
[1:02:21] Speaker 1: watch Kevin Hurd play a Pissons game and celebrate every
[1:02:24] Speaker 1: time he misses or turns down a shot, which he
[1:02:27] Speaker 1: did do a couple times.
[1:02:28] Speaker 2: Yes, he did. He did.
[1:02:29] Speaker 3: He did.
[1:02:30] Speaker 1: And that's what I get really upset about. Not whether
[1:02:32] Speaker 1: you're making them or making them. It's whether you're taking them.
[1:02:35] Speaker 1: But anyway. Like he hit a shot and I was like, ah, shit.
[1:02:38] Speaker 2: He's going to hit like eight threes.
[1:02:39] Speaker 1: I'm going to look like a fool.
[1:02:40] Speaker 2: And he did hit one going into halftime too, but
[1:02:42] Speaker 2: it was after the buzzer.
[1:02:43] Speaker 1: Yeah, I was pumped.
[1:02:44] Speaker 2: So that didn't count.
[1:02:45] Speaker 3: I was pumped.
[1:02:45] Speaker 1: I was like, that doesn't count.
[1:02:46] Speaker 3: It doesn't count.
[1:02:48] Speaker 2: But he was hesitant to take some threes. Let it rip.
[1:02:51] Speaker 1: That's his thing, man.
[1:02:52] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[1:02:52] Speaker 1: This is my issue with him. I saw it firsthand.
[1:02:55] Speaker 2: Confidence.
[1:02:55] Speaker 1: Come on, man. Kevin and his confidence.
[1:02:58] Speaker 2: Literally, he was lucky that Dunkey was there. Duncan Robinson was.
[1:03:02] Speaker 1: Oh, my God. Sam, Sam, and Dunkey. I know.
[1:03:04] Speaker 2: Sam, Sam, and Dunkey, Duncan, Pauly G over here. Yeah,
[1:03:08] Speaker 2: I've got to scale it back.
[1:03:09] Speaker 1: Pauly G.
[1:03:10] Speaker 2: Paul George. Oh. I can't help it. I didn't know
[1:03:14] Speaker 2: we were talking about that. Jersey Shore, my favorite show ever.
[1:03:17] Speaker 1: Good job.
[1:03:17] Speaker 2: I'm kidding.
[1:03:18] Speaker 3: It's not true. Don't be so mad about it, though.
[1:03:21] Speaker 2: Where's Snooki when you need her? She's my favorite. Duncan Robinson.
[1:03:25] Speaker 2: Only won three in the first half. Four threes in
[1:03:29] Speaker 2: the second half.
[1:03:30] Speaker 3: Audacious three-pointer.
[1:03:31] Speaker 2: Yes. Is that what Terry Gannon would say?
[1:03:36] Speaker 1: I've got three Nora observations from this game that I
[1:03:40] Speaker 1: thought you guys would like, I thought the stream team
[1:03:41] Speaker 1: would like, or everybody listening to the podcast. Okay, she
[1:03:43] Speaker 1: had three observations about Pistons Celtics. Because she was watching
[1:03:48] Speaker 1: it because it was on during the day. It's on, yeah.
[1:03:50] Speaker 1: Derek White looks like a man-baby.
[1:03:53] Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, he does.
[1:03:54] Speaker 1: I was like, yeah, I see it.
[1:03:55] Speaker 3: Yeah, he does.
[1:03:56] Speaker 2: Good.
[1:03:57] Speaker 1: Second one. Duncan Robinson looks like a squished Tony Hinchcliffe
[1:04:02] Speaker 1: from Kill Tony. I see it. He sort of looks like,
[1:04:07] Speaker 1: I said he looks like, I said if Tony Hinchcliffe
[1:04:10] Speaker 1: looks like evil Tony Hinchcliffe, then Duncan Robinson looks like good.
[1:04:15] Speaker 1: What do you got there?
[1:04:16] Speaker 3: Just a bunch of pictures. A bunch of pictures of
[1:04:19] Speaker 3: this guy.
[1:04:20] Speaker 1: And then, okay, you didn't seem to like that one
[1:04:22] Speaker 1: as much.
[1:04:22] Speaker 3: I did like when they were like, Duncan Robinson had
[1:04:24] Speaker 3: a great summer. I saw a lot of his Instagram
[1:04:26] Speaker 3: on summer. He has interesting workouts. Oh, okay. I like
[1:04:30] Speaker 3: watching the role players because it's like, oh, here's some
[1:04:32] Speaker 3: weird things you learned to be good at catching shoots
[1:04:34] Speaker 3: where your feet are facing the wrong way.
[1:04:36] Speaker 1: That's very cool.
[1:04:36] Speaker 3: Do a spin move.
[1:04:38] Speaker 2: Since this didn't come up during the Sixers-Knicks game, LeBron's
[1:04:41] Speaker 2: workouts recently, have you seen the camera that he just
[1:04:44] Speaker 2: throws down in a gym? So it's, I think it's
[1:04:47] Speaker 2: on the floor, very, very low, and he's in his tights.
[1:04:51] Speaker 2: And so you get a full crotch shot directly into
[1:04:54] Speaker 2: the game. I mean, recently, it was a video going
[1:04:56] Speaker 2: around about him commenting about him not liking the helicopter
[1:05:00] Speaker 2: that he has to take. He likes it. He said
[1:05:02] Speaker 2: he likes it, and he doesn't like it all at
[1:05:04] Speaker 2: the same time.
[1:05:05] Speaker 1: Okay, then live in Philadelphia.
[1:05:07] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. He likes it and he doesn't like it.
[1:05:09] Speaker 2: He hates it and he loves it, I think is
[1:05:11] Speaker 2: what he said. It feels like that's what he said
[1:05:13] Speaker 2: about his helicopters. But anyways, that was coming right off
[1:05:15] Speaker 2: a full-on crotch shot in his tights, and that's all
[1:05:18] Speaker 2: I could see. That's all I got to say.
[1:05:20] Speaker 1: The final Nora observation, they showed the Pistons mascot, Hooper,
[1:05:24] Speaker 1: I believe is his name, on the screen, and she commented,
[1:05:28] Speaker 1: who is that slutty horse?
[1:05:30] Speaker 3: Excuse me?
[1:05:30] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[1:05:30] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[1:05:32] Speaker 3: Hooper's all slutty?
[1:05:34] Speaker 1: It was from the back. I don't know why. That
[1:05:37] Speaker 1: was her immediate reaction. So Derek White, Duncan Ronson, and
[1:05:40] Speaker 1: the slutty horse that is Hooper, the Pistons mascot.
[1:05:44] Speaker 2: We can get him on.
[1:05:45] Speaker 1: We can get the what? Who on?
[1:05:47] Speaker 2: Hooper. Hooper the mascot. Literally, we get him on the
[1:05:51] Speaker 2: show to talk about his look.
[1:05:52] Speaker 1: He can't talk.
[1:05:53] Speaker 2: Well, you never know. We had a controversy back in
[1:05:56] Speaker 2: the day, Hooper and I. We're at NBA TV.
[1:05:58] Speaker 1: Go on. Remind me. I don't remember this.
[1:06:02] Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't either.
[1:06:05] Speaker 1: You had him on to talk to him and he
[1:06:06] Speaker 1: wouldn't talk?
[1:06:07] Speaker 2: No, he didn't come on. It was a Twitter beef
[1:06:09] Speaker 2: for some odd reason.
[1:06:11] Speaker 1: Well, we might have another one on our hands. My
[1:06:13] Speaker 1: wife calling him a slutty horse.
[1:06:15] Speaker 3: Did she mean it in a mean way or like complimentary?
[1:06:18] Speaker 1: He was in the crowd. He was probably doing some
[1:06:20] Speaker 1: moves and I think she just saw he's got like
[1:06:22] Speaker 1: the red and yellow, I believe, hair. Must have. I
[1:06:26] Speaker 1: don't know. That was it.
[1:06:28] Speaker 3: Kind of a sexy mascot. Right.
[1:06:31] Speaker 2: Right.
[1:06:31] Speaker 1: Oh, we got to rank the sexiest mascots.
[1:06:32] Speaker 2: There you go.
[1:06:33] Speaker 1: Maybe I'll ask her to do it. All right. That's
[1:06:36] Speaker 1: all we got on those games. We're going deep into
[1:06:38] Speaker 1: the random notes already here. Three games.
[1:06:40] Speaker 3: They should only have three games a night. I don't
[1:06:42] Speaker 3: know how for the season, but it's like a perfect
[1:06:44] Speaker 3: amount to talk about.
[1:06:44] Speaker 1: I agree.
[1:06:45] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[1:06:45] Speaker 1: Really reduce the season. Play three.
[1:06:48] Speaker 3: Perfect. We're doing this one for the podcaster, says Adam Silver.
[1:06:53] Speaker 3: Perfect podcast content.
[1:06:55] Speaker 1: All right. Let's hear your random observations from all three
[1:06:59] Speaker 1: of those games in the stream team or in the comments.
[1:07:01] Speaker 3: This episode is brought to you by CalSheet. It's an
[1:07:04] Speaker 3: exchange where you can trade on what you actually think
[1:07:06] Speaker 3: is going to happen in sports or whatever's on your mind.
[1:07:10] Speaker 3: You're going up against other traders directly with no house
[1:07:13] Speaker 3: set in the odds. It's just people putting their own
[1:07:15] Speaker 3: opinions on the line. Train $ 25 with code NODUNKS and
[1:07:20] Speaker 3: they'll throw in another $ 25 instantly. Trade responsibly. Market we're
[1:07:25] Speaker 3: looking at tonight. The Suns at the Blazers. Blazers favored
[1:07:29] Speaker 3: by two and a half points. 51% of traders favored
[1:07:32] Speaker 3: the Blazers.
[1:07:33] Speaker 1: This one's tough, though. This is why we have it.
[1:07:36] Speaker 3: It's a tight one.
[1:07:36] Speaker 1: We like to pick the tight games when it comes
[1:07:39] Speaker 1: to pick them. And Tass and I got a victory
[1:07:42] Speaker 1: last night, taking an okay seat. So we got a
[1:07:43] Speaker 1: little early lead here on Trey. So Blazers by two
[1:07:47] Speaker 1: and a half at home.
[1:07:49] Speaker 2: I'm the only one taking the Blazers.
[1:07:51] Speaker 1: I switched mine. I went back and forth, man.
[1:07:52] Speaker 3: Phew. Wow, you did too?
[1:07:54] Speaker 1: I did.
[1:07:55] Speaker 3: I went in and typed P-O-R and P-H-X came out
[1:07:58] Speaker 3: of my thumbs. I couldn't believe it. I was like, whoa.
[1:08:01] Speaker 3: My heart revealed itself in that moment.
[1:08:03] Speaker 1: I'll admit yesterday's OKC Spurs pick, I literally changed it
[1:08:07] Speaker 1: like four times. And then I ultimately went with OKC,
[1:08:10] Speaker 1: got it right. So I did the same thing here.
[1:08:11] Speaker 1: I'm going the road team. Got a couple points to
[1:08:14] Speaker 1: play with. Maybe that helps.
[1:08:15] Speaker 2: Yeah, I went with the fact that opening night is
[1:08:18] Speaker 2: John Moran night. He's really good on opening nights, historically.
[1:08:23] Speaker 2: He had 35 last season on opening night. He's had
[1:08:27] Speaker 2: 30 or more four times in his career. And he
[1:08:31] Speaker 2: averages over 30 in season openers. He just comes out
[1:08:34] Speaker 2: to play really, really well. Last year was against the Pelicans.
[1:08:37] Speaker 2: He was dancing. He literally was dancing. Step back threes.
[1:08:42] Speaker 1: Going to be a little different against Dylan Brooks and
[1:08:44] Speaker 1: the Suns.
[1:08:45] Speaker 2: That's why you kind of had to... I'm sure you guys...
[1:08:48] Speaker 2: factor that in that their defense is really really really
[1:08:50] Speaker 2: good it's good um so yeah i almost went phoenix
[1:08:53] Speaker 2: but i'm betting on joe.
[1:08:55] Speaker 1: Hey look man right now who knows we haven't seen
[1:08:57] Speaker 1: them we haven't seen these teams.
[1:08:59] Speaker 3: True except a big game for the play in standings yeah.
[1:09:02] Speaker 4: It could be right absolutely could be uh if we're
[1:09:04] Speaker 4: doing the short month no i mean playing at the
[1:09:07] Speaker 4: end oh my bad that's my bad sorry i heard
[1:09:10] Speaker 4: pick and pay off in my head i'm already Well,
[1:09:12] Speaker 4: it's funny you said that because I saw a comment
[1:09:14] Speaker 4: from MJ Skycrawler in the YouTube comments yesterday. He said,
[1:09:17] Speaker 4: oh my God, those pick-em payoff ideas. Grown man diaper change?
[1:09:22] Speaker 1: Seriously? We really disgusted MJ Skycrawler with that proposal of
[1:09:28] Speaker 1: a very weird pick-em payoff where a man would have
[1:09:31] Speaker 1: to wear a diaper.
[1:09:31] Speaker 3: Use it.
[1:09:32] Speaker 1: Yeah, defecate in a diaper and then get changed by
[1:09:37] Speaker 1: another man.
[1:09:37] Speaker 2: Yeah, we're not doing that. Is that mandatory that you
[1:09:39] Speaker 2: defecate in the diaper?
[1:09:41] Speaker 1: What's there to change otherwise? Dry diaper? You're going to
[1:09:44] Speaker 1: waste a diaper in this economy?
[1:09:45] Speaker 2: I'm not holding it in the morning for several hours.
[1:09:53] Speaker 3: Yes, you are.
[1:09:54] Speaker 1: You're right.
[1:09:55] Speaker 3: You're not holding it. You got the diaper on, bro.
[1:09:57] Speaker 3: That's what it's for.
[1:09:59] Speaker 2: No, I'm 1-0. we gotta do a short month though
[1:10:05] Speaker 2: i think that's more all right somebody.
[1:10:07] Speaker 1: Has a suggestion which i didn't mind of eating the
[1:10:10] Speaker 1: worst halloween candy during like you know the day after
[1:10:15] Speaker 1: the month of october ends yeah i think that's fun
[1:10:18] Speaker 1: because like we'd have a fun debate we could get
[1:10:20] Speaker 1: some help from the people like what is the worst
[1:10:22] Speaker 1: halloween candy and then you just have to eat a
[1:10:24] Speaker 1: boatload of it during said show For a short month,
[1:10:28] Speaker 1: I know it's a simple one, but I think there's
[1:10:30] Speaker 1: something to it. I think it was Sean that came
[1:10:31] Speaker 1: up with that.
[1:10:33] Speaker 2: There's some bad candy out there.
[1:10:35] Speaker 1: What's the worst? What would you, if you lose the
[1:10:37] Speaker 1: short month of October in the Pick'Em, hate to have
[1:10:40] Speaker 1: to eat?
[1:10:41] Speaker 3: I don't think I would want to eat black licorice
[1:10:43] Speaker 3: for an entire episode. I don't hate black licorice like
[1:10:46] Speaker 3: some people, but 75 minutes of black licorice sounds bad. Okay.
[1:10:53] Speaker 1: What about you?
[1:10:54] Speaker 2: Red licorice. I like black better. I like the nibs
[1:10:59] Speaker 2: the best. If I'm ranking my licorice, black, nibs, then red.
[1:11:05] Speaker 2: My licorice products. Okay. But, yeah, you can get a
[1:11:10] Speaker 2: weird house that just hands out, like, I don't know,
[1:11:12] Speaker 2: healthy stuff. Oh, geez.
[1:11:13] Speaker 1: Yeah, Lee Ellis handing out vegetable medley. Yeah, vegetable medley.
[1:11:18] Speaker 1: That's it. Candy corn. I do not like candy corn.
[1:11:22] Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. I mean, it'd be a chalky mouth.
[1:11:24] Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
[1:11:25] Speaker 3: Circus peanuts.
[1:11:26] Speaker 1: I'm not a big coconut guy, so I'm not a
[1:11:28] Speaker 1: fan of the bounty, and I know some people love
[1:11:30] Speaker 1: the bounty. I do not love the bounty. That's a
[1:11:33] Speaker 1: throw that one away right away.
[1:11:36] Speaker 3: I'm a bounty boy.
[1:11:37] Speaker 2: Yeah, I like the coconut.
[1:11:39] Speaker 1: This is the fun.
[1:11:40] Speaker 3: We'd have to zero in.
[1:11:42] Speaker 1: You got to be truthful, though, of candy you hate.
[1:11:45] Speaker 3: You got to be truthful of candy you hate.
[1:11:47] Speaker 2: We'd each have to bring in our bags and dump it.
[1:11:51] Speaker 2: together onto the table, and then we divide. Divide the
[1:11:55] Speaker 2: worst ones.
[1:11:55] Speaker 1: Hey, look, there's something here. There's something here.
[1:11:57] Speaker 3: You say we have to go out and bring our
[1:11:59] Speaker 3: own baskets? You're going trick-or-treating?
[1:12:00] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[1:12:00] Speaker 1: You guys probably will be, won't you? You may not.
[1:12:03] Speaker 1: Maybe your kids do.
[1:12:04] Speaker 3: It by themselves. They're going to go by themselves this year,
[1:12:06] Speaker 3: but I still got to get my candy.
[1:12:09] Speaker 2: Yeah. We drove by one house yesterday. Great decorations that
[1:12:14] Speaker 2: they put up, but then my daughter Zoe said, oh,
[1:12:16] Speaker 2: I don't like that house. They gave out bad bad treats.
[1:12:20] Speaker 1: And she's already clocked it.
[1:12:22] Speaker 2: She said there was like rice in them. Like, I'm like,
[1:12:25] Speaker 2: what are you talking about? There's rice in the cake.
[1:12:27] Speaker 2: She's like, there are a rice cake.
[1:12:30] Speaker 1: Oh, that's horrible.
[1:12:32] Speaker 2: And Halloween.
[1:12:33] Speaker 1: That's pretty bad.
[1:12:34] Speaker 2: Come on.
[1:12:34] Speaker 3: If you want to vegetables.
[1:12:36] Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. I would rather some green peppers, please.
[1:12:41] Speaker 2: I'm bringing in.
[1:12:41] Speaker 3: Can you exchange this?
[1:12:43] Speaker 1: Hey, we're going long here, but just cause you brought
[1:12:45] Speaker 1: up Halloween. Um, Do you think, I had this thought
[1:12:49] Speaker 1: driving in the other day, do you think there are
[1:12:51] Speaker 1: more like minor fender benders in residential areas during the
[1:12:58] Speaker 1: Halloween season? Because people are like a little distracted by
[1:13:04] Speaker 1: Halloween decorations and houses. And so you're sort of taking
[1:13:07] Speaker 1: your eyes off the road. And again, you're not going
[1:13:10] Speaker 1: fast through these residential areas or you shouldn't be, but
[1:13:12] Speaker 1: you know. there's sometimes speed bumps and people slow down.
[1:13:16] Speaker 1: I gotta assume it is, right?
[1:13:17] Speaker 3: I do. I think so. And also like sometimes the
[1:13:20] Speaker 3: decorations are very human-like and close to the road or
[1:13:25] Speaker 3: close to the curb. You're like, whoa, what is that?
[1:13:27] Speaker 3: You swerve?
[1:13:28] Speaker 1: Oh, sideswipe. I'm telling you.
[1:13:29] Speaker 3: Call Ken.
[1:13:32] Speaker 1: I almost did it. I really was like looking at
[1:13:35] Speaker 1: one like way too long because it was like, I
[1:13:38] Speaker 1: was like, how is that? How do they have that hanging?
[1:13:41] Speaker 1: And it was very realistic. I'm like trying to break
[1:13:43] Speaker 1: it down and then I had to sort of jam
[1:13:45] Speaker 1: on the brakes when someone ahead of me was coming
[1:13:48] Speaker 1: up to a speed bump and they slowed down way
[1:13:50] Speaker 1: more than they needed to. Easy, man.
[1:13:53] Speaker 2: Easy, man.
[1:13:54] Speaker 1: You're not killing your car going 15 over it, okay?
[1:13:58] Speaker 3: I'd have to see the bump. Some of them are
[1:14:00] Speaker 3: pretty nasty out there.
[1:14:00] Speaker 1: Some of them are not that true. The one I
[1:14:02] Speaker 1: take you on, there's that one that's insane. Those ones
[1:14:03] Speaker 1: are big boppers. Those are big boppers.
[1:14:06] Speaker 3: They put them in and it's like instant divots behind it.
[1:14:09] Speaker 3: It's like an excite bike course.
[1:14:11] Speaker 1: Okay. You want to just say our thoughts? No, thanks
[1:14:14] Speaker 1: for agreeing with me. I felt good.
[1:14:15] Speaker 3: I'm glad you did. I thought we were just going
[1:14:17] Speaker 3: to say thoughts. Mine was, do you think Kevin Herter
[1:14:19] Speaker 3: would survive a home alone situation? Just think about it.
[1:14:22] Speaker 3: We can talk about it more at Christmas time.
[1:14:24] Speaker 1: We have 11 games on tonight and a new episode
[1:14:27] Speaker 1: of Survivor. Dear Lord, by the end of the night,
[1:14:29] Speaker 1: only two teams will have not played a regular season game.
[1:14:33] Speaker 1: Do you know those teams?
[1:14:35] Speaker 2: No.
[1:14:35] Speaker 3: Nuggets.
[1:14:36] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[1:14:37] Speaker 3: I thought Nuggets was one. And Cavaliers. Yeah.
[1:14:39] Speaker 1: Wow.
[1:14:40] Speaker 2: Damn.
[1:14:40] Speaker 1: Sorry.
[1:14:40] Speaker 3: I didn't think you'd get it. I feel like we
[1:14:43] Speaker 3: maybe said it. Okay. When schedule was released a billion
[1:14:47] Speaker 3: years ago.
[1:14:47] Speaker 1: Yeah, I think you're right. So ESPN doubleheader Timberwolves Heat.
[1:14:50] Speaker 3: Okay.
[1:14:51] Speaker 2: Hello.
[1:14:51] Speaker 1: LaMelo with the Wolves. Yannis with the Heat. And Warriors
[1:14:54] Speaker 1: Lakers is our late game on ESPN. Anyway, we'll be
[1:14:56] Speaker 1: back to talk about as many as we possibly can.
[1:14:58] Speaker 1: Bulls Raptors, baby.
[1:15:00] Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
[1:15:01] Speaker 2: Yes.
[1:15:01] Speaker 1: I mean, the premiere game of the night, of course.
[1:15:03] Speaker 1: Everybody tuning in. We're locked in for sure. We'll have
[1:15:06] Speaker 1: comments on that one. No doubt tomorrow at 10 a.m.

[1:15:19] Speaker 2: on Halloween, eyes on the road.
[1:15:22] Speaker 3: That's right.
[1:15:23] Speaker 1: Ten and two, eyes on the road. Brace the day, people.
