Deep in California’s Trinity Alps, Justin and his girlfriend hiked miles into a remote canyon surrounded by towering mountains, waterfalls, and endless forest. As darkness settled over their isolated campsite near Canyon Creek, the entire atmosphere changed. While gathering firewood, both witnesses suddenly froze after spotting massive glowing red eyes staring at them from the darkness ten feet above the ground. The eyes moved aggressively toward them in complete silence. No footsteps. No growls. No breaking branches. Just a presence watching from the trees. Justin shares the full story of the encounter, the terrifying night that followed, and the strange details that still stay with him over a decade later. The episode also explores other reports connected to the Trinity Alps region, including frightening screams heard deep in the wilderness near the same trail system. If you’ve ever wondered why Northern California remains one of the most active Bigfoot regions in America, this conversation will stay with you long after it ends. 🗣️ Share Your Story Had a Bigfoot encounter or strange experience? ## Transcript

[0:00] Speaker 1: You're listening to BIGFA Society and I'm Jeremiah Byron. In
[0:03] Speaker 1: this show, we go beyond the campfire stories to bring
[0:05] Speaker 1: you first hand encounters from people who say they've seen
[0:08] Speaker 1: something impossible. From backwoods trails and remote mountain haulers to
[0:12] Speaker 1: quiet farms and crowded highways. The stories come from everywhere,
[0:16] Speaker 1: and each one leaves us with more questions than answers.
[0:20] Speaker 1: These are the voices of the people who've lived it.
[0:24] Speaker 1: To settle in, because today you'll hear another account that
[0:27] Speaker 1: just might change the way you see the woods forever.
[0:30] Speaker 1: So stay with us, all right, Big for Society, Welcome
[0:33] Speaker 1: back to another episode. We've got the privilege of talking
[0:36] Speaker 1: to Justin tonight. Justin is individual I got connected to.
[0:40] Speaker 1: He reached out after he heard an account on the
[0:42] Speaker 1: show that he thought sounded similar to what he experienced.
[0:47] Speaker 1: And he'll be talking about a experience when he was
[0:52] Speaker 1: hiking out there in northern California in an area that
[0:55] Speaker 1: has actually come up on the show. When I was
[0:58] Speaker 1: looking at the sighting map on Big forat Society podcast
[1:02] Speaker 1: dot com, this actually has this area has been talked
[1:04] Speaker 1: about on the show before, So that's kind of interesting
[1:07] Speaker 1: and we'll bring that up later on, but you know,
[1:10] Speaker 1: welcome to the show. Justin how are you today?
[1:13] Speaker 2: I'm good man. How you doing man?
[1:15] Speaker 1: Oh, I'm doing good. Just hanging out, having a good
[1:19] Speaker 1: night out here in the Midwest and no storms or anything.
[1:22] Speaker 1: But is there anything else the listeners would want to
[1:26] Speaker 1: know about you for context before we get into it, you.
[1:31] Speaker 2: Know, And it's one thing I kind of brought up
[1:32] Speaker 2: with you as well, but like, you know, just to
[1:36] Speaker 2: like outline this, I'm not one hundred percent sure what
[1:39] Speaker 2: I saw was like an ape or bigfoot, but I
[1:44] Speaker 2: saw something that I heard a story and it almost
[1:47] Speaker 2: gave me the chills, like on Jeremy on this channel,
[1:50] Speaker 2: and figured I call in because it sounded pretty similar.
[1:53] Speaker 2: And yeah, and this was about thirteen years ago, so
[1:57] Speaker 2: I'm a little foggy. So I did take notes and
[1:59] Speaker 2: have some stuff written down to kind of help me
[2:02] Speaker 2: just kind of like remember a couple things. So if
[2:04] Speaker 2: you see me looking over I'm just looking at my
[2:05] Speaker 2: notes over there.
[2:08] Speaker 1: Absolutely, So would you be able to share a bit
[2:13] Speaker 1: about the area that you were in? I know you were.
[2:19] Speaker 1: You were nice enough to actually provide the location to
[2:21] Speaker 1: me so I could look it up. On the map.
[2:23] Speaker 1: But you know, what are some things about what you
[2:26] Speaker 1: remember about the area? Why were you there? Things like that.
[2:31] Speaker 2: Yeah, So I actually I was going to school in Arcada, California.
[2:36] Speaker 2: I don't know if you're familiar with northern California, but
[2:39] Speaker 2: Arcada is like it's basically cal State, and it's right
[2:42] Speaker 2: on the coast, so it's very close to the ocean,
[2:44] Speaker 2: and it's like beautiful. It's like north of San Francisco.
[2:49] Speaker 2: So in Arcada, I was going to school there. This
[2:51] Speaker 2: is about thirteen years ago, so I'm thirty eight years
[2:54] Speaker 2: old now and i was in my mid twenties, you know,
[2:58] Speaker 2: back then, and going to school in Arcada. It's essentially
[3:03] Speaker 2: like in the Redwoods. So if you see pictures of
[3:06] Speaker 2: the really really really big redwood trees, those are all
[3:10] Speaker 2: surrounding the school. So when you're going to classes and
[3:14] Speaker 2: just walking around the area, like even around the town,
[3:17] Speaker 2: the whole town of Arcada is just surrounded by woods,
[3:21] Speaker 2: pretty isolated and for the most part, just going to school.
[3:25] Speaker 2: And I'd never been to northern California and I got
[3:28] Speaker 2: accepted at cal State, and I'm from Pittsburgh, an East
[3:33] Speaker 2: coast and before that i'd lived in southern California, but
[3:38] Speaker 2: nothing ever in like the northwest.
[3:42] Speaker 1: Okay, gotcha. Very interesting and looking at the map, you
[3:45] Speaker 1: actually would have had to probably travel through Willow Creek
[3:49] Speaker 1: to get to this area where you're at.
[3:52] Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yep, yep a bunch of times.
[3:55] Speaker 1: Which is which is wild? I mean you probably took
[3:57] Speaker 1: what two ninety nine over through Creek and then over
[4:02] Speaker 1: to the Trinity area. Oh yeah, yep, gotcha. So so
[4:08] Speaker 1: let's let's focus in on on that exact day that
[4:13] Speaker 1: you were there. So you were out hiking in the woods,
[4:16] Speaker 1: and there was another individual there with you, correct, Yeah.
[4:20] Speaker 2: So I was. I was going to school, and as
[4:24] Speaker 2: a newcomer to northern California, the outdoors are pretty intimidating,
[4:29] Speaker 2: and I'd been wanting to, like, like, I've been like
[4:31] Speaker 2: an outdoor person. I was raised, like my uncles were
[4:34] Speaker 2: farmers and just kind of like always like fishing and
[4:38] Speaker 2: camping and hiking and stuff. But I wasn't like ever
[4:41] Speaker 2: a hardcore hiker or camper, you know, I'd not I'd
[4:45] Speaker 2: done like a couple multi day hikes, but nothing crazy.
[4:48] Speaker 2: So up to this point, I was kind of a novice,
[4:51] Speaker 2: but like wanting to explore and I had met a girl.
[4:53] Speaker 2: We ended up dating for a while and she was
[4:57] Speaker 2: really cool and she actually like she was a trippy
[4:59] Speaker 2: per sit in herself. She would go up to the
[5:02] Speaker 2: woods and talk to fairies and like up until high school,
[5:06] Speaker 2: she would go out and sit there and that was
[5:08] Speaker 2: like beautiful there. So like I wouldn't be surprised if
[5:10] Speaker 2: something like magical, you know, if there are fairies, it
[5:13] Speaker 2: would probably be you know, like in those woods. But anyways,
[5:15] Speaker 2: like so she when I met her, which was in
[5:18] Speaker 2: college and she was going to school in her twenties,
[5:21] Speaker 2: she had her whole back was a fairy. So she
[5:23] Speaker 2: had a fairy like tattoo, just like a giant fairy.
[5:26] Speaker 2: And she was a very fearless. The reason I bring
[5:29] Speaker 2: up these details because it's kind of important because she
[5:33] Speaker 2: was a very like fearless outdoors person. She would she
[5:37] Speaker 2: when I met her, she would camp buy herself like
[5:40] Speaker 2: a girl like she would go she had a Honda
[5:42] Speaker 2: CRV and she would just go out into the national
[5:44] Speaker 2: force and just she was like a solo type of person.
[5:47] Speaker 2: She would go camp by herself. She would go swim
[5:49] Speaker 2: by herself, like never afraid of bears, never afraid of
[5:52] Speaker 2: like anything really like pretty fear, you know, jump off
[5:54] Speaker 2: like waterfalls, no problem. And so when she met me,
[5:58] Speaker 2: she kind of showed me the and decided to take me.
[6:02] Speaker 2: If you had imagine, Arcada's right on the right on
[6:05] Speaker 2: the water. And then she she was like, oh, do
[6:07] Speaker 2: you want to check this really cool camping spot out,
[6:10] Speaker 2: which was I want to say, like a couple hours
[6:13] Speaker 2: directly east of Arcada. It's almost like a straight line.
[6:17] Speaker 1: If you were able to fly there, it definitely would
[6:19] Speaker 1: be a straight line, but the road's a bit curvy.
[6:22] Speaker 1: But yeah, I would say easy, a few hours to
[6:24] Speaker 1: get over there. What's the what was the trip like
[6:28] Speaker 1: from to ninety nine? And then it looks like from
[6:33] Speaker 1: the pen you gave me you had to go up
[6:35] Speaker 1: into the hills quite a bit.
[6:37] Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, I'll be honest, I didn't know the
[6:40] Speaker 2: roads and she was driving so because she knew everything
[6:43] Speaker 2: and I don't even this was back like I didn't
[6:47] Speaker 2: at this point. I didn't have a cell phone, I
[6:49] Speaker 2: didn't have the internet out of my house. I would
[6:52] Speaker 2: just like rent movies and watch movies. I was like
[6:54] Speaker 2: super hippy. I would like so like I don't even
[6:57] Speaker 2: think she had a cell phone. Maybe we did, but
[6:59] Speaker 2: it was kind of like she knew where the spot
[7:01] Speaker 2: was by memory and and so you know, you're driving
[7:05] Speaker 2: all these rhinny wandy roads and then eventually you get
[7:08] Speaker 2: to kind of more like where you need four wheel
[7:11] Speaker 2: drive because which kind of weeds a lot of people
[7:13] Speaker 2: out because the roads get super bumpy and if you
[7:16] Speaker 2: have a low car, you just bought them out and
[7:18] Speaker 2: then somebody has to pull you and there's like nobody know,
[7:21] Speaker 2: there's no like toe guys out there, so you're pretty
[7:23] Speaker 2: much just stuck until like a truck shows up and
[7:26] Speaker 2: that that's out to the environment and the road is
[7:28] Speaker 2: just beautiful, super beautiful. Yeah, it's probably one of the
[7:32] Speaker 2: most beautiful, Like I've been all over the country and
[7:34] Speaker 2: it's one of the most surreal cool areas I've ever
[7:38] Speaker 2: been to.
[7:39] Speaker 1: Yeah, it's wild because you actually had to travel past
[7:45] Speaker 1: a few campgrounds to get to that pen. It looks like, yeah,
[7:51] Speaker 1: so were you were you like off the trail or
[7:54] Speaker 1: or you know, just kind of doing your own thing camping.
[7:59] Speaker 2: We know, so we actually we did follow a trail,
[8:02] Speaker 2: like it started with a trail sign, so it's a
[8:05] Speaker 2: you know, public trail, well like a well, you know,
[8:09] Speaker 2: established parking lot with a you know, nice trail sign
[8:13] Speaker 2: with like a description and pictures, and which is kind
[8:16] Speaker 2: of funny because in the pictures it shows like people
[8:18] Speaker 2: walking and then cougar's jumping on them from the cliffs
[8:22] Speaker 2: in the pictures, and it's like, oh, if you see
[8:24] Speaker 2: a cougar, you know they will jump on you from behind.
[8:27] Speaker 2: So I was like, oh, that's cool. So that was
[8:29] Speaker 2: like our intro. But you know, I wasn't scared at all,
[8:32] Speaker 2: and she was just fearless. So let's go. And we
[8:34] Speaker 2: have my dog too, and the thought of a big foot,
[8:38] Speaker 2: a bear or cougar, we were like cool, like that'd
[8:41] Speaker 2: be awesome if we saw something, and we were so
[8:45] Speaker 2: the way that the trails are set up there, you
[8:47] Speaker 2: can't you're legally not allowed to camp anywhere you want.
[8:52] Speaker 2: You have to camp at designated sites, and I figure
[8:57] Speaker 2: what they're called. I think they're called like native sites
[8:59] Speaker 2: or something. There's an for them, but there are basically
[9:01] Speaker 2: sites that just have a fire circle, and you have
[9:06] Speaker 2: to find a fire circle that's pre built by the
[9:08] Speaker 2: Forest Service people. So we're essentially there's a if you
[9:12] Speaker 2: imagine a valley and then on the right side of
[9:14] Speaker 2: the valley, you're kind of walking into this valley, and
[9:17] Speaker 2: the deeper you get along that valley, there's a river
[9:21] Speaker 2: cutting through it, and along the edge of that river
[9:25] Speaker 2: are those circles. And so as you get deeper and
[9:27] Speaker 2: deeper and deeper, you kind of skip more and more
[9:30] Speaker 2: prominent campsites. And as you get to the there's actually
[9:32] Speaker 2: kind of an end to this one, and at that
[9:35] Speaker 2: end is the campsite where I saw what I saw.
[9:39] Speaker 1: Are you okay sharing the name of the area that
[9:43] Speaker 1: you're at, okay?
[9:45] Speaker 2: Yeah? Absolutely?
[9:46] Speaker 1: Yeah. It is Canyon Creek, right.
[9:50] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, Canyon Creek.
[9:52] Speaker 1: Yeah, gotcha. And so that's interesting. So that campsite being
[9:56] Speaker 1: kind of in that valley, that puts you in an
[9:58] Speaker 1: interesting area where you know, something could be up there
[10:03] Speaker 1: watching your you guys are in there and not able
[10:06] Speaker 1: to get away pretty quick potentially, But yeah, feel free
[10:10] Speaker 1: to to kind of walk us through what you guys
[10:13] Speaker 1: experienced that day.
[10:15] Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, So you know, I told you about her
[10:18] Speaker 2: a little bit. And if you imagine, we show up
[10:20] Speaker 2: to this parking lot and she's driving in a red
[10:23] Speaker 2: CRV and I'm with her and my dog and I
[10:28] Speaker 2: had this super cool dog then that was like my
[10:30] Speaker 2: spirit animal dog, kind of like a little Australian Shepherd
[10:35] Speaker 2: type of mix, like maybe like a forty pound dog.
[10:37] Speaker 2: Real rambunctious and like adventurous, and he would be awf
[10:41] Speaker 2: leash a lot, so he would kind of just follow
[10:43] Speaker 2: me everywhere. We'd go camping and stuff all the time,
[10:46] Speaker 2: and he's like a swimmer, so he was like really
[10:48] Speaker 2: fun to go camping. And yeah. Anyways, yeah, so we
[10:52] Speaker 2: all went. We kind of started if you would imagine,
[10:55] Speaker 2: you know, we're driving for like an hour or so,
[10:58] Speaker 2: and then we drive you know, way out to this
[11:00] Speaker 2: canyon creek place. You know, we don't have GPS or anything.
[11:03] Speaker 2: So I'm going like, man, this is super cool with
[11:05] Speaker 2: this cool girl, Like we're finding this coold spot and
[11:08] Speaker 2: then she, you know, she knows where it's at. So
[11:10] Speaker 2: for me, it's like the most fun adventure.
[11:12] Speaker 1: You know.
[11:12] Speaker 2: They're just like kind of tagging along and she's like, oh, yeah,
[11:16] Speaker 2: you got to you know, you got to follow me
[11:18] Speaker 2: the show, like, trust me, it's worth it. It takes a
[11:19] Speaker 2: couple of days, but at the end there's these like
[11:21] Speaker 2: amazing waterfalls and nobody's there and blah blah blah, and
[11:25] Speaker 2: I'm like, that sounds awesome, so, you know, and it
[11:27] Speaker 2: was the way they had this thing lined up. I
[11:29] Speaker 2: think it was a I think I'd written it down
[11:31] Speaker 2: or told you maybe, but it was I do. I
[11:34] Speaker 2: do have some notes over here, but it was whatever
[11:36] Speaker 2: I want to say. It was eleven miles or something,
[11:39] Speaker 2: but you had to hike in, you know, so maybe
[11:40] Speaker 2: we hike in five miles and then camp and then
[11:44] Speaker 2: the next day we're able to hike. Essentially, the last
[11:46] Speaker 2: campsite is at the base of the waterfalls, so if
[11:49] Speaker 2: you camp there, then you can have the whole next
[11:51] Speaker 2: day just to camp through the waterfalls and kind of
[11:54] Speaker 2: like play on the waterfalls where there's not camp sites
[11:58] Speaker 2: on the waterfalls so they have all that quarantine. And
[12:01] Speaker 2: that was our goal, was like to make it to
[12:03] Speaker 2: that last campsite pretty much trail wise, pretty easy hiking.
[12:09] Speaker 1: Yeah, gotcha. What was the year for this again?
[12:13] Speaker 2: This was I guess made about thirteen years ago.
[12:18] Speaker 1: Oh, that's right, so it would have been like what
[12:22] Speaker 1: twenty thirteen.
[12:23] Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe something like that.
[12:25] Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, gotcha. And so when you're out in this area,
[12:28] Speaker 1: did you see many other people or was it just
[12:31] Speaker 1: you guys out there?
[12:33] Speaker 2: There were like, offhand, I remember seeing maybe one or
[12:40] Speaker 2: two other couples. I think we passed one, and on
[12:44] Speaker 2: our way leaving we saw one other couple. So maybe
[12:47] Speaker 2: like I would say, four people max, yeah, the whole
[12:50] Speaker 2: three days.
[12:51] Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, So then you so you first, I would imagine,
[13:01] Speaker 1: make set up camp in that that initial campsite.
[13:07] Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, well the story kind of gets interesting. So
[13:11] Speaker 2: the first campsite, we were getting kind of tired or
[13:14] Speaker 2: it was getting darker. So we see a fire, we
[13:17] Speaker 2: see a fire ring coming up, and we say, oh, perfect,
[13:20] Speaker 2: like a fire ring, let's get some firewood. And back
[13:24] Speaker 2: then you could kind of it was like a lot
[13:26] Speaker 2: of drywood, so stuff was scattered. We didn't have like
[13:28] Speaker 2: stuff to chop it down, so you could just go
[13:30] Speaker 2: and pick up like enough for the night. And I
[13:33] Speaker 2: had picked up like a nice little bundle to get started,
[13:35] Speaker 2: and we're kind of excited, and she's falling behind me
[13:38] Speaker 2: and we're like, yeah, this is gonna be great. And
[13:40] Speaker 2: I'm like looking at her and I'm holding a stack
[13:42] Speaker 2: of firewood and I go like this to drop it
[13:45] Speaker 2: in the fire pit, and I look and right staring
[13:48] Speaker 2: right at me is a rattle stake. Oh my good
[13:51] Speaker 2: tail is going like that coil just staring right at me.
[13:54] Speaker 2: And I'm holding this wood and I just go, uh
[13:57] Speaker 2: and I like bring the wood back. We tr around
[14:00] Speaker 2: and I'd just go like, let's go, and we just
[14:01] Speaker 2: like headed out. We both met, dropped the firewood, and
[14:04] Speaker 2: we like ran out. They were like, oh my gosh.
[14:06] Speaker 2: So we're like freaked out immediately, you know, We're like,
[14:09] Speaker 2: holy crap, like I almost got if I think if
[14:11] Speaker 2: I had got bit that point, most likely I would
[14:14] Speaker 2: have died, yeah, because you would have had to get
[14:17] Speaker 2: life lighted to probably like Seattle or Portland or something,
[14:20] Speaker 2: and the chances of that happening in time, like we
[14:22] Speaker 2: had no phones, nobody knew we were there.
[14:27] Speaker 1: Yeah, no no GPS beacons, no GP Yeah, yeah, you
[14:31] Speaker 1: would have been done, so dude.
[14:32] Speaker 2: Yeah yeah. But like you know, so we're like we
[14:36] Speaker 2: were kind of freaked out. And then which ended up
[14:39] Speaker 2: at the us at going to the furthest like further
[14:42] Speaker 2: into the last campsite, which is the one where I
[14:44] Speaker 2: spotted what I saw. Yeah, so that was that was
[14:46] Speaker 2: pretty much one of the last campsites on that edge.
[14:49] Speaker 2: So there was a river next to it and a firing,
[14:53] Speaker 2: and then to the right of that was like a
[14:55] Speaker 2: canyon mountain to the extent that we were kind of
[15:00] Speaker 2: stuck between the river and the mountain at that campsite.
[15:02] Speaker 1: Yeah, the GPS location that you gave me is that
[15:06] Speaker 1: is that the campsite that you were hiking into by
[15:10] Speaker 1: the fall.
[15:10] Speaker 2: Then yeah, that's I think the actual cordiness is where
[15:17] Speaker 2: I believe that the creature or whatever that was was
[15:21] Speaker 2: got it? So I saw that from maybe like maybe
[15:27] Speaker 2: twenty yards away or something like that, I'll say it
[15:29] Speaker 2: was fairly close.
[15:31] Speaker 1: Yeah, gotcha. So to make sure we get the whole story,
[15:35] Speaker 1: So you have the issue with the rattlesnake, and then
[15:39] Speaker 1: you decide to continue on into this this goal campsite
[15:45] Speaker 1: that's by the waterfall. Does anything happen on the way
[15:49] Speaker 1: into that campsite?
[15:51] Speaker 2: No? Going in there. It's almost like we were joking
[15:54] Speaker 2: about the rattlesnink and we're kind of like like we
[15:57] Speaker 2: were kind of like our adrenaline was going, but we
[15:59] Speaker 2: were still like all right, maybe like play it safe,
[16:02] Speaker 2: but still having like a bunch of fun, you know,
[16:05] Speaker 2: So we weren't we weren't thinking of danger or anything
[16:07] Speaker 2: like that going the next campsite or like you know,
[16:09] Speaker 2: that was rare and blah blah blah. And at that
[16:12] Speaker 2: point we just started kind of like it's getting closer
[16:14] Speaker 2: and closer to like dark dark, and we had like
[16:18] Speaker 2: I can't remember we had a headlamp or not, but
[16:20] Speaker 2: it was pretty dim and we were kind of just
[16:22] Speaker 2: grabbing wood as the light was getting like really dark. Yet.
[16:30] Speaker 1: Wow, So that alone puts you into a very So
[16:34] Speaker 1: you're getting you're getting that on the way there in
[16:39] Speaker 1: the dark, and so so then you had to set
[16:43] Speaker 1: up your camp in the dark as well.
[16:46] Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, And I believe we set up we just
[16:49] Speaker 2: had a tent. We were like minimalists, so we I
[16:51] Speaker 2: want to say, set up the tent super fast and
[16:54] Speaker 2: maybe had I think I think we had a we
[16:58] Speaker 2: had a fire going at the point in the next
[17:00] Speaker 2: fi pit and my dog's running around and we have
[17:03] Speaker 2: a tent set up and we're picking up farwood for
[17:06] Speaker 2: the rest of the night.
[17:10] Speaker 1: Gotcha, So how was your dog reacting through all of this?
[17:16] Speaker 2: Totally chill? Okay, Yeah, it was a really fun day.
[17:19] Speaker 2: We had seen a I don't know if you're familiar
[17:21] Speaker 2: with a like the animal Pine Martin. We'd seen one
[17:24] Speaker 2: of those earlier and it was super cool and it
[17:27] Speaker 2: was just like a great day. Yeah, so everybody was
[17:29] Speaker 2: having fun. He was He's having a blast. There's water
[17:32] Speaker 2: to jump in, so he's yeah, he's stoked. Yeah.
[17:36] Speaker 1: So was there a point when you started to realize
[17:40] Speaker 1: then that that something was off or something wasn't right?
[17:46] Speaker 2: You know, that's interesting you say that it's I thought
[17:49] Speaker 2: about this a lot, and because i'd heard a lot
[17:52] Speaker 2: of your other stories and people like getting a weird
[17:54] Speaker 2: feeling or maybe feeling sick, I don't remember anything like that.
[18:00] Speaker 2: I felt like it was a really good time and
[18:03] Speaker 2: it was one of those things where time was going
[18:05] Speaker 2: really quick. So the whole experience was kind of surreal
[18:08] Speaker 2: for me because I'm out there, so I'm kind of
[18:10] Speaker 2: like riding a natural high already being out there, and
[18:14] Speaker 2: you know, I'm chatting with this girl who, like I
[18:16] Speaker 2: kind of recently met, so you know, we're just like
[18:18] Speaker 2: chatting and have fun. And so at this point, time
[18:22] Speaker 2: is just kind of moving really fast, and I would
[18:25] Speaker 2: say it's getting a lot darker, way quicker than I
[18:27] Speaker 2: would imagine, if anything weird At that point, you'd imagine
[18:31] Speaker 2: me and her were I could probably see maybe our
[18:36] Speaker 2: tent is about fifty yards away or one hundred yards
[18:39] Speaker 2: or something, with a little fire going, and then we're
[18:41] Speaker 2: out like picking up firewood closer to the mountain side
[18:44] Speaker 2: rather than the creek side. At this point, it's pretty.
[18:49] Speaker 2: It's like almost dark dark, like pitch black yere.
[18:54] Speaker 1: It is crazy. How so on X has a feature
[18:57] Speaker 1: where you can look at it and three and literally
[19:02] Speaker 1: you are you're hiking into a valley that is surrounded
[19:06] Speaker 1: by huge mountains and you're in the middle and then
[19:10] Speaker 1: there's waterfalls. It's it's beautiful.
[19:13] Speaker 2: It's one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. Yeah.
[19:15] Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, if something's going to live by itself,
[19:20] Speaker 1: that would be a perfect area because it would not
[19:23] Speaker 1: have to worry about anything messing with it in there.
[19:27] Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, absolutely, Yeah.
[19:31] Speaker 1: All right, so so then what would you say that
[19:36] Speaker 1: you're you're setting up the the setting up the tent,
[19:39] Speaker 1: setting up the campsite. What would you say the the
[19:42] Speaker 1: next thing in your story would be.
[19:45] Speaker 2: Yeah, and and like, honestly, this is where there's not
[19:48] Speaker 2: much more after this, but we're obviously it gets interesting
[19:51] Speaker 2: and you know it pertains the big Foot and what
[19:53] Speaker 2: I saw I'm not sure exactly, but do you imagine
[19:56] Speaker 2: we're gray mood? Everybody's chilling, There's there's no to be scared.
[20:00] Speaker 2: We weren't like even though there were these signs of mountainlines,
[20:03] Speaker 2: we were like whatever, We're just like having tons of fun.
[20:06] Speaker 2: And and I I'm like picking up firewood and I
[20:12] Speaker 2: like look up at my girlfriend. I just see her
[20:13] Speaker 2: face like almost like pale white like that, and I
[20:18] Speaker 2: at this point, I've never like up into then and
[20:21] Speaker 2: since then, I've never seen this girl scared. I've never
[20:26] Speaker 2: been like, oh, why don't you jump off that one
[20:27] Speaker 2: hundred foot waterfall? And Her'll be like, oh, I'm kind
[20:29] Speaker 2: of scared. Like never, like she would almost be like cool,
[20:32] Speaker 2: like let's do it type of person. And her face
[20:35] Speaker 2: was like just like frozen. And she went and like
[20:38] Speaker 2: made this noise, like she almost made like a grunting noise,
[20:40] Speaker 2: like I never heard her make it before, like ooh,
[20:42] Speaker 2: like and then she drops her firewood and she was
[20:45] Speaker 2: like oh and like she was like speechless almost and
[20:47] Speaker 2: I was like what what what? And I like look
[20:49] Speaker 2: and like I even write like right now telling you this,
[20:51] Speaker 2: I get the chills bringing bout. But I just see,
[20:54] Speaker 2: like I want to say, ten to twenty yards, not
[20:56] Speaker 2: very far enough, like enough distance to if it was
[21:00] Speaker 2: the core could easily make that distance if it was.
[21:03] Speaker 2: But you know, I'm six foot tall, and you imagine
[21:05] Speaker 2: it's kind of at an angle like this. So if
[21:07] Speaker 2: I would imagine, I don't know if it was in
[21:10] Speaker 2: a tree, behind a tree, next to the tree, but
[21:13] Speaker 2: the eyes were I would imagine at least eight feet tall,
[21:18] Speaker 2: maybe eight to ten feet something along that about twenty
[21:21] Speaker 2: yards you imagine this angle and was kind of looking
[21:24] Speaker 2: down at me and I and I see these eyes. Man.
[21:28] Speaker 2: And I've been in the I've been in tons of
[21:30] Speaker 2: woods all over the Redwoods. I lived in Bend, Oregon
[21:33] Speaker 2: for a long time. Like in the National Forest, I've
[21:35] Speaker 2: driven all across the country, but Idaho, all over the
[21:38] Speaker 2: I live in Pittsburgh now, so like the Alleghany National Forest,
[21:41] Speaker 2: the coast Florida, like all I have never and I've
[21:45] Speaker 2: seen like weird eyes, bears, you know, pretty much most
[21:49] Speaker 2: animals that people would know of been, including some rare runs.
[21:52] Speaker 2: But I'll just well, I've never seen anything close to
[21:54] Speaker 2: these eyes. And that's one of the reasons why I
[21:55] Speaker 2: wanted to call you, and I thought the story was
[21:57] Speaker 2: cool because at the time I wasn't thinking, oh, this
[22:01] Speaker 2: is Bigfoot or anything, you know, I just thought like,
[22:03] Speaker 2: what the heck. But to describe the eyes, sorry to
[22:05] Speaker 2: get off topic, but these so I like, you know,
[22:09] Speaker 2: she just has his pale face and I look and
[22:11] Speaker 2: these eyes were like I would say, like I don't know,
[22:14] Speaker 2: that big, like like a like the size of like
[22:18] Speaker 2: a almost like bigger than silver dollars. And they're like
[22:24] Speaker 2: the weird. They were like red, like fiery red with
[22:28] Speaker 2: orange like glistening, almost like how people talk about eyeshine
[22:33] Speaker 2: or something. They were like it looks like there was
[22:35] Speaker 2: like a light in them, almost like a like we
[22:37] Speaker 2: make like a fake Halloween mask and there's like a
[22:39] Speaker 2: light in the eyes. But they were like huge and
[22:41] Speaker 2: red with like and and the and the way they
[22:45] Speaker 2: moved in this like really crazy way that looked like
[22:48] Speaker 2: it was like aggressive or was going to attack us.
[22:52] Speaker 2: And I thought like, oh my god, like this thing
[22:54] Speaker 2: is definitely going to attack us. And and we both
[22:57] Speaker 2: just started yelling at this like screaming at what ever
[23:00] Speaker 2: it was, and like I threw my I mean, we
[23:02] Speaker 2: had been picking on a firework for a while, so
[23:03] Speaker 2: like that was kind of valuable. And I just like
[23:05] Speaker 2: we threw all of our firewood at it, and both
[23:07] Speaker 2: of us just starts screw because like and the reason
[23:10] Speaker 2: we're yelling too, because we're thinking, okay, if this is,
[23:12] Speaker 2: if this is like a big animal or like a cougar,
[23:15] Speaker 2: if we turn around, it's gonna jump on our backs.
[23:18] Speaker 2: So we have we have to make like a presence.
[23:21] Speaker 2: So we're like yelling at this. These eyes are just
[23:23] Speaker 2: staring at me, and I'm just like, we're yelling, backing up.
[23:26] Speaker 2: And then we got to a point where like it
[23:28] Speaker 2: was getting a little it didn't like approach and getting
[23:32] Speaker 2: a little bit further away, and we just looked at
[23:33] Speaker 2: each other, just ran and we sprinted as fast as
[23:37] Speaker 2: we could. And our dogs for some reason, which is
[23:39] Speaker 2: weird actually, like now they think about it, it's super weird.
[23:42] Speaker 2: With my dog, who reacts to everything, did not chase this,
[23:47] Speaker 2: did not bark at it, didn't go near it, And
[23:50] Speaker 2: that's super like this. He would chase deer, everything, chase chipmunks, lizards,
[23:57] Speaker 2: did not go I don't even remember him around us,
[24:00] Speaker 2: Like you must have been I don't know, but we
[24:03] Speaker 2: wound up back at camp totally freaking out and like
[24:08] Speaker 2: even telling you now, like my drones and like our
[24:10] Speaker 2: drones going and we had nothing. We had like a
[24:12] Speaker 2: pocket knife, and so I stayed up all night. I
[24:15] Speaker 2: think she ended up passing out, but I set up
[24:18] Speaker 2: all night just like holding a stick until the sun
[24:20] Speaker 2: came up. And uh and yeah, that whole And I
[24:24] Speaker 2: remember like finally the sun came up and we were
[24:26] Speaker 2: so tired and we were like, well, let's get out
[24:28] Speaker 2: of here. Then the next day, we like we hiked
[24:30] Speaker 2: up to the waterfalls, which were beautiful. I think we
[24:32] Speaker 2: it was sunny, so we felt safe and we passed
[24:35] Speaker 2: out for a little bit or I don't even know
[24:37] Speaker 2: if we did fall asleep. And then and then that
[24:39] Speaker 2: we were going to camp another day, and we were
[24:41] Speaker 2: like like absolutely absolutely. We we hiked all the way
[24:45] Speaker 2: all the way home, yeah, which was really a two
[24:47] Speaker 2: day hike, but we were like no.
[24:49] Speaker 1: No, oh, that's that's pretty intense. Uh.
[24:54] Speaker 2: It freaked me out.
[24:54] Speaker 1: Yeah, how far apart would you estimate that the eyes
[24:59] Speaker 1: were what you saw?
[25:01] Speaker 2: I would say, let's see maybe something like that, maybe
[25:06] Speaker 2: like actually a roll right here, they're probably literally maybe
[25:12] Speaker 2: like nine inches apart.
[25:14] Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, it's it's massive and.
[25:18] Speaker 2: Yeah, about I would say bigger than a silver dollar.
[25:22] Speaker 1: And eight feet up and probably.
[25:25] Speaker 2: About eight feet eight to ten. Yeah, yeah, it was.
[25:29] Speaker 2: It was so dark where it was. I couldn't tell
[25:31] Speaker 2: if it was like hiding behind a tree or in
[25:33] Speaker 2: a tree, or if a tree was around it, I
[25:34] Speaker 2: could I couldn't tell.
[25:39] Speaker 1: Maybe I missed this, but you said it felt like
[25:41] Speaker 1: it was like there was something aggressive or what was
[25:45] Speaker 1: it about the eyes that that made you feel that
[25:49] Speaker 1: it was about to do something aggressive or yeah?
[25:53] Speaker 2: You know that that's what was really weird about it. It
[25:55] Speaker 2: made it made a movement like a I don't know,
[25:59] Speaker 2: you almost like when like how people do it, like
[26:03] Speaker 2: a like a fighter or something. They do that like
[26:05] Speaker 2: they lunched for like that. Yeah, it did like that
[26:09] Speaker 2: at us. And that's when we went like, holy crop,
[26:11] Speaker 2: like this thing is a great because we're talking people too,
[26:13] Speaker 2: Like if it was a bear or something, we'd be like,
[26:15] Speaker 2: oh that was so cool. But this we were like
[26:16] Speaker 2: that thing was trying to kill us, like or like
[26:19] Speaker 2: intimidate us or something. And it made no noise, completely silent.
[26:24] Speaker 2: There was zero zero noise on a branch break nothing.
[26:28] Speaker 1: Yeah, So for the people that are listening in a way,
[26:32] Speaker 1: you saw the eyes kind of dark towards you. Yeah,
[26:38] Speaker 1: got it, Okay, very interesting.
[26:40] Speaker 2: It didn't turn. It's like she had seen it before
[26:43] Speaker 2: and was like, oh my gosh. And when I looked
[26:45] Speaker 2: at it, it was looking straight at me, the eyes
[26:48] Speaker 2: and then it did that like like it was gonna lune.
[26:52] Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, oh yeah. For example, and the one thing
[26:57] Speaker 2: because I kept thinking that night and you know, when
[26:59] Speaker 2: if like if you if you see deer eyes or
[27:01] Speaker 2: a lot of animals at night, you'll see one eye
[27:03] Speaker 2: and a lot of times, you know, because it's like
[27:05] Speaker 2: looking this way, so you'll see one eye, or it'll
[27:06] Speaker 2: be blue. A lot of cougar eyes, for instance, are
[27:09] Speaker 2: like blue or they might be a you know, reddish
[27:13] Speaker 2: orange or something like that. And cougars kind of move
[27:15] Speaker 2: in a specific fashion and usually if you see a cougar.
[27:19] Speaker 2: Because that was like the closest thing, I was like, okay,
[27:20] Speaker 2: maybe it was like a huge adult cougar, and which
[27:24] Speaker 2: will be the closest thing. But I must have looked
[27:26] Speaker 2: up every video of cougar eyes. I didn't see. There's
[27:30] Speaker 2: not one on the internet that that was, and trying
[27:33] Speaker 2: to think of like any other predator animal. I definitely
[27:37] Speaker 2: wasn't a bear. Definitely, if it was a cougar, it
[27:41] Speaker 2: would be super rare for to just be staring at
[27:44] Speaker 2: us that close, it would be very weird. It'd usually
[27:46] Speaker 2: be a lot further away up like in the mountains,
[27:50] Speaker 2: looking at us from up there. Yeah.
[27:53] Speaker 1: Now, the next day, when you were hiking up to
[27:56] Speaker 1: the falls, did you notice anything out of the ordinary,
[27:59] Speaker 1: any that was weird or even trees or or things
[28:06] Speaker 1: that seemed out of place.
[28:09] Speaker 2: I didn't. I was really tired at that point and
[28:13] Speaker 2: just kind of trying to get to the top of
[28:14] Speaker 2: the waterfall. It was really beautiful, so I was a
[28:17] Speaker 2: little bit overwhelmed by just like how it was one
[28:20] Speaker 2: of those hikes for every ten feet you're just like,
[28:22] Speaker 2: oh my gosh. And that was really it was really special.
[28:26] Speaker 2: But nothing weird as far as vibes. The only other
[28:29] Speaker 2: weird thing that happened was on the way back, We're
[28:33] Speaker 2: walking on the trail and it was like my girlfriend
[28:35] Speaker 2: and then me, or my girlfriend and my dog and
[28:37] Speaker 2: then me, and like I said, you're hiking along the edge.
[28:42] Speaker 2: Sometimes on the edge of the mountain side, so you're
[28:45] Speaker 2: kind of you're walking straight, but that there's like a
[28:48] Speaker 2: cliff on your left and then a cliff below you
[28:50] Speaker 2: on your right, so you're just like in a little
[28:51] Speaker 2: path and we're walking in A rattlesnake just came flying
[28:56] Speaker 2: off the mountain and flew right in between my dogs,
[29:00] Speaker 2: like right in between us. Threw my dog's legs, and
[29:02] Speaker 2: my dog like jumped off the cliff to go for
[29:04] Speaker 2: the rattlesnake, and I like grabbed my dog last second.
[29:08] Speaker 2: But that was the last like crazy thing that happened.
[29:10] Speaker 2: But after that we were kind of like done with
[29:12] Speaker 2: the whole place. You know, We're like we almost got
[29:14] Speaker 2: a bit twice for I was naggs. I don't know
[29:16] Speaker 2: what we saw.
[29:18] Speaker 1: Yeah, I would, I would be done too that. No,
[29:22] Speaker 1: no Trinity Alps wilderness for me. If you're going to
[29:25] Speaker 1: have rattlesnakes lunging off of rock faces at people, that
[29:30] Speaker 1: is intense, dude. Oh my goodness. An interesting I wanted
[29:36] Speaker 1: to bring up and I can't remember. Do you remember
[29:39] Speaker 1: if it was a certain story or a certain account
[29:42] Speaker 1: that you had heard that made you contact.
[29:46] Speaker 2: You know? What I was thinking about that too, And
[29:47] Speaker 2: I can't remember her exact name or the one where
[29:50] Speaker 2: the story was very similar, but I will say that
[29:53] Speaker 2: one of my favorite accounts and what got me to
[29:55] Speaker 2: call in was a guy and I think you had
[29:58] Speaker 2: said it was one of your favorites. Two. There's a
[30:00] Speaker 2: guy Randy, an older gentleman who who had gone out
[30:04] Speaker 2: like in the sevenies. He's been hunting bigfoot since like
[30:06] Speaker 2: the seventies. He's just the coldest. I'm talking about like
[30:10] Speaker 2: going around in northern California. I think he started in
[30:12] Speaker 2: southern California and worked his way up too, and and
[30:15] Speaker 2: then and just like hunting Bigfoot. And then in his story,
[30:18] Speaker 2: like he he eventually comes to peace with Bigfoot and
[30:21] Speaker 2: like stops hunting it and he's just he just like
[30:23] Speaker 2: hangs out with it, and like he's like bringing a
[30:25] Speaker 2: gifts and stuff. Well, it's like he's like the coolest guy.
[30:28] Speaker 1: Yeah, that's that's.
[30:32] Speaker 2: It.
[30:32] Speaker 1: May also be Ronnie from Oakridge. Yeah, I think that's
[30:38] Speaker 1: that might be him, but I wanted to bring And
[30:40] Speaker 1: I don't know if you've seen this one, but so
[30:44] Speaker 1: it's interesting, same area. But let me look at the
[30:51] Speaker 1: three D again. There we go three D that this
[31:00] Speaker 1: is closer to the Canyon Creek trailhead and this is
[31:09] Speaker 1: episode nine thirteen. The person I talked to they had
[31:15] Speaker 1: a lot of things that happened all around California and Oregon,
[31:18] Speaker 1: but in this part of the country, in Canyon Creek,
[31:23] Speaker 1: they had experienced what they said are terrifying screams in
[31:27] Speaker 1: the middle of the night while camping solo at a
[31:30] Speaker 1: remote campground. The witness had felt the sound in his
[31:36] Speaker 1: chest and feared for his safety. And that was around
[31:39] Speaker 1: somewhere between twenty twelve to twenty fourteen, which is interesting.
[31:44] Speaker 1: That puts it very close to the same region of time.
[31:50] Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll tell you up to For anybody who hasn't
[31:54] Speaker 2: been there, or if you haven't been to Oregon or
[31:57] Speaker 2: that area of the trade Alves, I highly recommend going out.
[32:01] Speaker 2: It is. It is dangerous, but it is it's so
[32:05] Speaker 2: wild and beautiful. I've just never there's something really special
[32:09] Speaker 2: about that place. It's really cool. Yeah.
[32:15] Speaker 1: So then you know, after you you get back from
[32:22] Speaker 1: this hike, it's it's a bit traumatic. I mean, you've
[32:25] Speaker 1: had two close encounters with rattlesnakes and then whatever it
[32:30] Speaker 1: is that you saw that was eight feet tall and
[32:34] Speaker 1: huge red eyes. How did that affect you after that?
[32:38] Speaker 2: Man, I'll tell you, at the time, I thought it
[32:40] Speaker 2: was great. Like at that time, I thought it was
[32:44] Speaker 2: like I was still I was freaked out by it.
[32:47] Speaker 2: I'll say that, like I've seen before this, I'd seen
[32:50] Speaker 2: some other paranormal things in my life, like been in
[32:53] Speaker 2: some weird situations where I'm not like I wasn't grown
[32:55] Speaker 2: up as a paranormal person or but like I always
[32:58] Speaker 2: kind of made fun of a ghost eyes and big
[33:00] Speaker 2: foot people as like a kid, but I had experiences
[33:03] Speaker 2: where even I was I'm like, I'll be honest, like
[33:07] Speaker 2: I didn't normally believe that stuff, but after my experiences,
[33:11] Speaker 2: there's something out there. And like, that's what I have
[33:13] Speaker 2: to say about a lot of this bigfoot stuff. I
[33:14] Speaker 2: think there's a lot of stuff that's overlapping. For me,
[33:17] Speaker 2: it wasn't scary, but now looking back on it, I
[33:21] Speaker 2: think it's super interesting. Because hearing your stories too, like
[33:24] Speaker 2: or the stories from a lot of the people that
[33:26] Speaker 2: call in. You know, people can say maybe this person
[33:29] Speaker 2: is lying, or you know, this person saw a bearer
[33:31] Speaker 2: or something else. But there's super interesting stories that I
[33:35] Speaker 2: don't think that people are lying, and I think they
[33:38] Speaker 2: did see something and whether or not you know, it's
[33:40] Speaker 2: an ape or this or that, Like I think there
[33:43] Speaker 2: I think two things can be true at once. Like
[33:46] Speaker 2: I think there could be like a spiritual type of
[33:50] Speaker 2: beast or bigfoot out there, and there also could be
[33:54] Speaker 2: monkeys that escaped or you know of humans that evolved
[33:56] Speaker 2: that didn't quite make it into society. I think for me,
[34:00] Speaker 2: I believe that all of those things are true in
[34:02] Speaker 2: some way or another. And I think what's most interesting
[34:04] Speaker 2: is that something with the eyes. It's the stories that
[34:07] Speaker 2: connect the Bigfoot. When I start to hear the stories
[34:10] Speaker 2: from you, I start to hear these little connections like
[34:12] Speaker 2: these eyes and the sound and the feeling and like
[34:15] Speaker 2: you know, the people that go from fearing it to
[34:18] Speaker 2: liking it and like it's super interesting and I'm like,
[34:22] Speaker 2: what is that? And yeah, So so for the for me,
[34:26] Speaker 2: it's fun. If I was by myself in the woods
[34:30] Speaker 2: right now, would I be scared? To you? Has that
[34:33] Speaker 2: influenced that? For sure? I don't go camping alone.
[34:37] Speaker 1: Right exactly? I totally get that. You mentioned that. Now
[34:43] Speaker 1: you are over in the Pittsburgh area, Yeah, and so
[34:47] Speaker 1: you are right in the middle of a lot of
[34:50] Speaker 1: weird stuff. You've got southwest Pennsylvania, the Chestnut Ridge, I
[34:56] Speaker 1: mean Laurel Laurel high Lands lower Ridges out there, but
[35:02] Speaker 1: then you've also got the Alligating National Forest. Do you
[35:04] Speaker 1: ever go out in any of those areas?
[35:07] Speaker 2: I do. I actually plan, especially this summer, to really
[35:11] Speaker 2: go out because your story's kind of inspired me to
[35:15] Speaker 2: go to try to find something. So I looked at
[35:17] Speaker 2: the maps and started getting more into it, and my
[35:19] Speaker 2: uncles are into it now and we're gonna go. I
[35:23] Speaker 2: do real estate for a living, which definitely helps as well,
[35:25] Speaker 2: So I've been all over the city and a bunch
[35:28] Speaker 2: of weird abandoned buildings and houses and all over. I
[35:32] Speaker 2: don't know if people are familiar with the stories from
[35:35] Speaker 2: eastern Ohio, but there's a lot and my uncle lives
[35:39] Speaker 2: in Ohio and we planned on going kind of out
[35:41] Speaker 2: that area. There's actually a story from your show that
[35:45] Speaker 2: inspired us. A guy called in who he also was
[35:48] Speaker 2: hunting bigfoot in eastern Ohio and I can't remember the name,
[35:51] Speaker 2: but it's something called like Hell's It's like Hell's Cannon
[35:54] Speaker 2: or something like. That's a cool name. And we're planning
[35:57] Speaker 2: on going out there to explore and then my buddy,
[36:00] Speaker 2: We're going to go to the Alligating National Forest this
[36:02] Speaker 2: summer and do something like searching for something. You know.
[36:07] Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean that would that would be fantastic. If
[36:11] Speaker 1: I was in your shoes, I would definitely be hitting
[36:14] Speaker 1: up the Alligating National Forest. I think there's a bigfoot
[36:18] Speaker 1: festival that's out there that's coming up soon too, maybe
[36:23] Speaker 1: around Marionville, I'm not sure, but man, any of those
[36:29] Speaker 1: like campgrounds that are in the center of the forest.
[36:33] Speaker 1: I've heard some some wild wild stuff. I've heard, you know,
[36:38] Speaker 1: people hearing whoops, people getting their houses slapped around the
[36:43] Speaker 1: forest for people. Talked to Amy Boo once and her
[36:49] Speaker 1: group had some really intense infrasound experiences out there where
[36:55] Speaker 1: they thought that they were going to have to go
[36:56] Speaker 1: to the hospital, like it was almost a cardiac issue.
[37:00] Speaker 1: Really really wild stuff. So it's a thing, you know, Uh,
[37:04] Speaker 1: definitely have some kind of device where you can reach
[37:07] Speaker 1: out if you need to. I would say, but you
[37:11] Speaker 1: know a lot of people think Pennsylvania like, oh, that
[37:14] Speaker 1: can't be too bad, but man, there's parts of Pennsylvania
[37:16] Speaker 1: where it's it's wild as all get out. So yeah, yeah,
[37:22] Speaker 1: but I would say, you know, if you do experience something,
[37:25] Speaker 1: I would love to hear about it. Yeah, it sounds
[37:31] Speaker 1: very very interesting. Also, yeah, Laurel Ridge State Park. I
[37:36] Speaker 1: think is there are so many pins on my map
[37:40] Speaker 1: from around the area where you're at. I mean you
[37:43] Speaker 1: could you could literally spend a few years just like
[37:46] Speaker 1: visiting different pin areas on just the podcast map. And
[37:51] Speaker 1: that's like if you look into the Big for Mapping project,
[37:53] Speaker 1: is like there's the rest of your life. It's crazy.
[37:56] Speaker 1: But that.
[37:59] Speaker 2: Wasn't sure which one you had done versus the like
[38:02] Speaker 2: official Bigfoot map versus.
[38:06] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, so much. Mine is you can only get
[38:12] Speaker 1: to it if you go to Big for Society podcast
[38:13] Speaker 1: dot com and there's like I want to say, there's
[38:17] Speaker 1: over I've put over a thousand pins on it so
[38:19] Speaker 1: far just from the show, So Pennsylvania's got a ton.
[38:24] Speaker 1: But you're in a really cool area being in Pittsburgh,
[38:28] Speaker 1: and I mean you're close to northeast Ohio and all
[38:31] Speaker 1: that too. But man, thank you so much for coming
[38:36] Speaker 1: on on the show, justin for sharing your experience. And
[38:42] Speaker 1: it's just it's one of those things, you know, because
[38:45] Speaker 1: what's going to happen is I'm sure, there'll be another
[38:48] Speaker 1: person out there that will hear you talking about Canyan
[38:51] Speaker 1: Creek and being like, I've been in that area, this
[38:55] Speaker 1: is what happened to me. And then I'm going to
[38:56] Speaker 1: get like five emails and that is exactly how this show.
[39:00] Speaker 1: How the show runs. I'm not even kidding. It's wild,
[39:03] Speaker 1: wild stuff.
[39:03] Speaker 2: But that's so cool, Ivy, what you do. It's very cool.
[39:09] Speaker 1: It's it is very cool. I can cut this out
[39:13] Speaker 1: if needed, but just in case it leads to something,
[39:17] Speaker 1: someone is going to ask in the comments, what happened
[39:21] Speaker 1: to to the girl that talks to fairies? Do you know,
[39:26] Speaker 1: oh that you used to date?
[39:29] Speaker 2: Oh yeah, like where is she now?
[39:31] Speaker 1: Or yeah? Or is she like what she affected and
[39:35] Speaker 1: got into bigfoot stuff or anything like that.
[39:39] Speaker 2: Oh you know what, we never had a discussion of
[39:41] Speaker 2: whether or not like we thought it was bigfoot, oh wow,
[39:45] Speaker 2: because at this time we weren't thinking. We weren't thinking
[39:48] Speaker 2: about bigfoot. It wasn't really something we talked about. We
[39:51] Speaker 2: were thinking it was some sort of big predator animal
[39:54] Speaker 2: or you know, we were very like, you know, you know,
[39:58] Speaker 2: I believe in all sorts of stuff, Like I don't
[40:00] Speaker 2: know if like aliens are or something. So both of
[40:02] Speaker 2: you know, our minds are just going like, I don't know,
[40:04] Speaker 2: was it an alien? So we're kind of just like
[40:06] Speaker 2: poking fun at it, not really thinking sure, oh blah
[40:09] Speaker 2: blah blah. And then you know, we kind of just
[40:11] Speaker 2: moved on from it because honestly, we went hiking so
[40:16] Speaker 2: many times after that, never never had any experience like that.
[40:20] Speaker 2: So for us it was just like, man, that was weird.
[40:23] Speaker 2: Kind of just move on. And you know she to
[40:26] Speaker 2: this day she lives in Washington and goes hiking by
[40:29] Speaker 2: herself all the time. Wow.
[40:32] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's wild. That's that is one guts the individual. Good. Yeah,
[40:39] Speaker 1: I would not do it.
[40:40] Speaker 2: It's more gutsy than me. Man.
[40:41] Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely more power to her. But justin thank you
[40:45] Speaker 1: so much for coming on the show. As I said,
[40:47] Speaker 1: you know, if you ever run into anything else weird,
[40:50] Speaker 1: you know, feel free send an email and and would
[40:54] Speaker 1: love to have a follow up with you. Man.
[40:57] Speaker 2: Yeah, bro, yeah, thanks for having me on. And like,
[40:59] Speaker 2: honestly I want to say thank you too, because I
[41:01] Speaker 2: was like having trouble sleeping for like many months and
[41:04] Speaker 2: your show like really helped me get through it, like
[41:06] Speaker 2: straight out because I don't know. It's like just really
[41:09] Speaker 2: relaxing hearing those stories and the way that you interview
[41:12] Speaker 2: people I think is cool because you let people kind
[41:14] Speaker 2: of talk and you're never judgmental or like. It's very
[41:17] Speaker 2: easy to listen to and like flying. Yeah, so I
[41:20] Speaker 2: just yeah, I just want to say things, and you
[41:22] Speaker 2: put out in a crazy amount of content. It is. Well,
[41:24] Speaker 2: every time I look, every time I need another episode,
[41:26] Speaker 2: there's another one.
[41:28] Speaker 1: It's it's a time managements. Time management. It's crazy. But
[41:34] Speaker 1: I appreciate the kind of words. Thank you, justin yeah,
[41:37] Speaker 1: thanks so much.
[41:38] Speaker 2: Absolutely.
[41:39] Speaker 1: Have you ever heard all the accounts of bigfoot activity
[41:42] Speaker 1: around Oakridge, Oregon? And you think to yourself, man, I
[41:45] Speaker 1: would love to get out in those woods and experience
[41:48] Speaker 1: it for myself. Well, guess what this year you can
