[1:19] Speaker 2: You've got the.
[1:19] Speaker 1: Privilege of talking to Rob today. Rob is a physical
[1:23] Speaker 1: therapist from around the Harrison Hot Springs area and man,
[1:28] Speaker 1: we've been trying to set up a chat for a
[1:30] Speaker 1: while now and I'm excited to have Rob on. He
[1:32] Speaker 1: is the first interview of twenty twenty six for being recorded.
[1:37] Speaker 1: So there you go. But you know, Rob, welcome to
[1:40] Speaker 1: the show. How are you doing today, sir?
[1:45] Speaker 2: Very good? Yeah, Happy New Year to you and all
[1:48] Speaker 2: your listeners. I didn't realize on the first one, so
[1:51] Speaker 2: I guess I guess the pressure is on.
[1:52] Speaker 1: Really no pressure at all. Also, do we want to
[1:59] Speaker 1: point out that you are you said you're immigrant from
[2:04] Speaker 1: England to Canada to this area.
[2:07] Speaker 2: Correct, Yeah, that's right. People can probably tell by my accent.
[2:15] Speaker 2: I am now a Canadian citizen. I'm a dual citizen,
[2:18] Speaker 2: but I meet here with my family in twenty sixteen,
[2:21] Speaker 2: in July twenty sixteen to an area in southern BC
[2:28] Speaker 2: right near the Washington border. Well, actually it's Chilliwak It
[2:34] Speaker 2: it's in the Fraser Fraser Valley and very close to
[2:40] Speaker 2: the Chililat Lake Valley. So I've got mountains and forests
[2:45] Speaker 2: and rivers right on the doorstep.
[2:48] Speaker 1: You land in Chiliac area in the Fraser Valley. How
[2:54] Speaker 1: quickly did you realize I'm in the middle of something
[2:57] Speaker 1: interesting going on here with all this bigfoots stuff. When
[3:00] Speaker 1: did that start kicking in for you?
[3:04] Speaker 2: Well? I could look back now in hindsight and realize
[3:07] Speaker 2: it happened really in October, but I didn't quite realize
[3:13] Speaker 2: what was going on at the time, if that makes sense.
[3:16] Speaker 2: So I guess that sort of leads me into what happened.
[3:22] Speaker 2: I've always grown up in a rural area in the UK,
[3:24] Speaker 2: and I've always loved the countryside and wildlife, and we've
[3:27] Speaker 2: got it all here, you know, beautiful heights. And at
[3:33] Speaker 2: the time our youngest was sick and we went. It
[3:38] Speaker 2: was a Sunday in early October, so it just started raining.
[3:43] Speaker 2: We found out, you know how true it is about
[3:46] Speaker 2: the Pacific Northwest being a rainforest. But we went out
[3:51] Speaker 2: for a hike, really just looking to go out two
[3:55] Speaker 2: three hours just for a short hike, and we went
[3:57] Speaker 2: up the Chilliwack Lake road and picked a trail. It
[4:04] Speaker 2: was another lake, and we were under the assumption that
[4:07] Speaker 2: it was just going to be maybe, you know, an
[4:09] Speaker 2: hour or two hike. I'm now a far more experienced hiker.
[4:14] Speaker 2: I pretty much go out every weekend hiking, and this
[4:17] Speaker 2: hike to get to this lake is probably eight to
[4:22] Speaker 2: ten hours or more one way, So we grossly misjudged it.
[4:28] Speaker 2: But anyway, we went off, and yeah, you know, at
[4:32] Speaker 2: the time, we had no bear spray, no knives, you know,
[4:35] Speaker 2: I carry those things now as well as a backpack,
[4:38] Speaker 2: you know, with a survival kit in and first aid kit.
[4:42] Speaker 2: And off we went.
[4:43] Speaker 3: And the trail is quite.
[4:46] Speaker 2: You know, quite well marked and clear, and it's a
[4:52] Speaker 2: typical trail here. You're going through thick forest, lots of
[4:56] Speaker 2: cedar and Douglas firs and hemlock trees, and and we
[5:01] Speaker 2: were going up and we've been going about maybe forty
[5:04] Speaker 2: five minutes. And the one thing I must stress is
[5:07] Speaker 2: there's like a makeshift parking lot, and we were the
[5:11] Speaker 2: only car there the whole time, and even when we left,
[5:15] Speaker 2: there was no other vehicles and there was nobody up
[5:18] Speaker 2: there at all. We didn't see any sign of anybody
[5:22] Speaker 2: camping or anything like this. But anyway, we went up
[5:28] Speaker 2: and part of the way up there was a very
[5:31] Speaker 2: large tree that had uprooted, you know, it had crashed down,
[5:36] Speaker 2: big tree, you know, something like it, probably like a
[5:39] Speaker 2: Douglas fir, and all the roots were exposed and they
[5:43] Speaker 2: had bits of like soil and earth on them. And
[5:48] Speaker 2: the nice thing about this trail is at the start
[5:50] Speaker 2: of the trailhead people have left like makeshift their branches,
[5:54] Speaker 2: but they sort of modeled them into sort of walking sticks,
[5:58] Speaker 2: walking canes. So we all picked one of those just
[6:02] Speaker 2: for fun. And when we were near this tree, the
[6:07] Speaker 2: youngest than me just started chiseling away at the earth
[6:10] Speaker 2: around the roots. You know, I was you know, we
[6:12] Speaker 2: were saying how amazing it is to see the you know,
[6:15] Speaker 2: the roots of the tree. And then my youngest started
[6:22] Speaker 2: whacking the roots, you know, these are big roots, with
[6:25] Speaker 2: his sick and you know, he did that for a bit.
[6:30] Speaker 2: It was all good fun, and then we carried further
[6:33] Speaker 2: on up and then I'd say, you know, it was
[6:36] Speaker 2: a while later that you know, it dawned upon us
[6:40] Speaker 2: that this lake was probably quite a lot further than
[6:43] Speaker 2: what we realized. So my wife, she was doing some
[6:48] Speaker 2: care work at the time while she was waiting for
[6:50] Speaker 2: her nursing qualifications to be accepted, and she had to
[6:55] Speaker 2: do a late shift, and she said, look, I want
[6:56] Speaker 2: to get back and relax a bit before you know,
[6:59] Speaker 2: my work. So we turned around and we went back
[7:03] Speaker 2: down and we came back to the very same tree route,
[7:09] Speaker 2: and my wife was ahead, my my youngest was in
[7:13] Speaker 2: the middle, and I was at the back. And he
[7:18] Speaker 2: started digging and then really whacking the tree route again,
[7:22] Speaker 2: and then I joined in with him, you know, smacking
[7:25] Speaker 2: the tree root with our with our sticks. Now realizing
[7:31] Speaker 2: you know, your your tree knocking. But at the time,
[7:35] Speaker 2: you know, we were just fitting a room and my
[7:38] Speaker 2: wife had stopped at the same time. And you know,
[7:42] Speaker 2: this was on like a like a decline, like a
[7:44] Speaker 2: gradient the way the trail was going, and we stopped
[7:47] Speaker 2: for a bit and my wife was saying, listen, you know,
[7:52] Speaker 2: I want to get back. And as we were just
[7:56] Speaker 2: talking that there was obviously big trees near us, like
[8:01] Speaker 2: there is in the forest, and this rock just just
[8:08] Speaker 2: came out, flying out the bush. You know, it wasn't
[8:10] Speaker 2: a rock that tumbled, It didn't fall from high. It
[8:13] Speaker 2: flew out from the bush and the way I can
[8:17] Speaker 2: describe it, the trajectory, it was like in a straight line,
[8:20] Speaker 2: so it wasn't a loose bit of rock. And it
[8:23] Speaker 2: flew right out, hit this tree a few meters in
[8:29] Speaker 2: front of us, and hit the ground. So you know,
[8:31] Speaker 2: I caught it out of my periphery. You heard it,
[8:35] Speaker 2: you know, hit the tree, and then you heard it
[8:37] Speaker 2: like flat on the ground. And my wife must have
[8:41] Speaker 2: seen it as well, and she spun right around to
[8:44] Speaker 2: me and said, was that a rock? Wore a stone?
[8:50] Speaker 2: And I was not knowing what was going on, and
[8:55] Speaker 2: I said yeah. And then I'm a bit of a
[8:58] Speaker 2: practical joker, you know, back in England, if we were
[9:01] Speaker 2: walking in the woods or something, you know, i'd throw
[9:03] Speaker 2: a stone in the bushes to you know, make a
[9:06] Speaker 2: sown and make out it was an animal or something,
[9:08] Speaker 2: just to try and scare people. So my wife thought
[9:11] Speaker 2: it was me and she said did you do that?
[9:13] Speaker 2: And I was going no, And she said, be honest
[9:18] Speaker 2: with me, did you do that? And I said no?
[9:20] Speaker 2: And she said, well who did that? And I said
[9:22] Speaker 2: I don't know. And we were going back and forth
[9:25] Speaker 2: like this and maybe a minute, and then a second
[9:29] Speaker 2: one came out from the same area and hit the
[9:33] Speaker 2: tree again, the same tree. Couldn't believe it hit the
[9:36] Speaker 2: same tree. And I won't say the language that we use,
[9:43] Speaker 2: but you know, my wife was like, we're going, you know,
[9:45] Speaker 2: we've got to go, and I kind of went for
[9:49] Speaker 2: a brief second or two said hang on, hang on,
[9:53] Speaker 2: And I was looking up into the forest and I
[9:58] Speaker 2: couldn't see anything. But then you could hear something kind
[10:04] Speaker 2: of breaking branches. But by the sound of it, these
[10:07] Speaker 2: weren't small like twigs or branches. This was heavy breaking.
[10:13] Speaker 2: And then there was just this sense of we've got
[10:18] Speaker 2: to go right now. You know, this complete I wouldn't
[10:22] Speaker 2: call it dread, but just this. We've got to get
[10:24] Speaker 2: out of there. So we were, you know, we were
[10:29] Speaker 2: almost running back down this trail. I mean I was
[10:32] Speaker 2: at the back, my wife was in the front, and
[10:34] Speaker 2: the youngest was in the middle. And I was virtually
[10:36] Speaker 2: pushing my youngest and I said to him, I don't care,
[10:39] Speaker 2: You've got to keep I don't care how tired you want,
[10:41] Speaker 2: You've got to keep moving. And as soon as we
[10:45] Speaker 2: started to move, I could still hear, you know, the
[10:48] Speaker 2: odd things breaking, and then the other thing I could
[10:51] Speaker 2: hear The only way I can decide it is sometimes
[10:55] Speaker 2: when I've been hiking on trails, if you're hiking with
[10:58] Speaker 2: somebody or hiking yourself, if you jump down onto a trail,
[11:02] Speaker 2: it almost sounds like the ground is hollow. It's a
[11:05] Speaker 2: weird sound, and I could hear like thuds, and by
[11:12] Speaker 2: the sense of it, it was something big. Anyway, we
[11:17] Speaker 2: were walking down for the first minute or two, I
[11:20] Speaker 2: kept looking behind and I was just convinced we were
[11:23] Speaker 2: going to get jumped. You know. I was convinced, and
[11:27] Speaker 2: I don't know by what or who, but I was
[11:29] Speaker 2: just convinced, you know, we ain't going to make it
[11:32] Speaker 2: to the car. And none of us were talking. I
[11:36] Speaker 2: was just occasionally going to my youngest. I was pushing
[11:38] Speaker 2: him in the back when he was slowing down, and
[11:40] Speaker 2: I said, just keep going. I said, you've just got
[11:41] Speaker 2: to do this. And then in time, I don't know,
[11:45] Speaker 2: twenty minutes or so, we started to see the car.
[11:49] Speaker 2: There was a bit of relief. We got down to
[11:52] Speaker 2: the parking lot, got in the car, didn't quite burn
[11:58] Speaker 2: rubber getting out of there, but got out of there quick,
[12:01] Speaker 2: straight on the lake road, and we were going home.
[12:04] Speaker 2: And I would say it was probably several minutes before
[12:06] Speaker 2: one of us talked, and you know, my wife was like,
[12:11] Speaker 2: what happened back there? And I don't know. And we
[12:16] Speaker 2: got home and you know, it was it was a
[12:21] Speaker 2: weird situation and it was a scary situation. And you know,
[12:27] Speaker 2: as we were driving back, my wife said, I don't
[12:29] Speaker 2: ever want to go up there again, and to this
[12:31] Speaker 2: day she hasn't. And this is this is over nine
[12:34] Speaker 2: years ago now, So that was the initial scene. I
[12:39] Speaker 2: mean up till then, Jeremiah. You know, we're about twenty
[12:43] Speaker 2: minutes from Harrison Hot Springs and if you google Harrison
[12:48] Speaker 2: Hot Springs, that's where John Green lived and I had
[12:52] Speaker 2: a newspaper. There's a Sasquatch museum. So we've been out
[12:56] Speaker 2: to visit that and it's all touristy, you know, there's
[12:59] Speaker 2: sasquatch models everywhere and statues and would figures. And I'll
[13:05] Speaker 2: be honest with you, I just thought it's a bit
[13:07] Speaker 2: of a tourist thing, you know. I didn't put it
[13:10] Speaker 2: down to any more than that. You know, I just thought,
[13:14] Speaker 2: you know, i'd heard about it. I mean, I don't
[13:16] Speaker 2: care who you are. Most people have heard a big foot,
[13:18] Speaker 2: but to varying levels. I've heard of it back in
[13:21] Speaker 2: the UK, I think just for fun. Once years ago
[13:24] Speaker 2: in the UK, i'd seen one of the episodes of
[13:26] Speaker 2: Finding Bigfoot, but I didn't think any more of it.
[13:30] Speaker 2: I just thought it was a myth and you know,
[13:34] Speaker 2: a tourist attraction, so I knew about it from that,
[13:39] Speaker 2: but I didn't link, you know, the subject with what
[13:44] Speaker 2: happened that day in the forest. But the weird thing was,
[13:50] Speaker 2: I didn't feel it was a person either. I didn't
[13:53] Speaker 2: get the sense it was a person, because, to be
[13:57] Speaker 2: honest with you, if I thought it was a person,
[14:00] Speaker 2: somebody throwing two rocks, they weren't stones. They were probably
[14:05] Speaker 2: up and I'm trying to think maybe like a softball
[14:08] Speaker 2: sized rock throwing that at me and my family, particularly
[14:13] Speaker 2: when I've got a kid. I would have gone up
[14:15] Speaker 2: in the forest looking for them to sort them out, basically,
[14:20] Speaker 2: But I just didn't get that sense that it was
[14:22] Speaker 2: a person. But I couldn't figure out what had happened
[14:27] Speaker 2: or what it was. So that's, you know, I can
[14:31] Speaker 2: look back now and think that's when it sort of happened,
[14:36] Speaker 2: but at the time I didn't put two and two together,
[14:41] Speaker 2: So that like I say, that was around October twenty sixteen.
[14:44] Speaker 2: So you know when you asked, like, when did you
[14:46] Speaker 2: first become aware? I guess unofficially that's when things started.
[14:54] Speaker 1: I can't imagine living through that. I mean, because you're well,
[14:59] Speaker 1: you said, you're my thousand miles out there and no
[15:02] Speaker 1: one was out there.
[15:06] Speaker 2: Well, we we the car, the parking lot is right
[15:10] Speaker 2: on the road, but we were about forty five minutes
[15:15] Speaker 2: up the trail up the mountain in the forest and
[15:17] Speaker 2: then and there was nobody there. And I can tell
[15:21] Speaker 2: you now this area now there's no homeless living up there.
[15:25] Speaker 2: Nobody lives up there. It's too far out for somebody
[15:30] Speaker 2: to do that. There are homeless in that river valley,
[15:34] Speaker 2: but they're they're further down, way further down the road,
[15:37] Speaker 2: closer to the town. But up where we are or
[15:42] Speaker 2: where we were. Sorry that there were no people. And
[15:47] Speaker 2: I also think if it was a person, right, and
[15:51] Speaker 2: they were doing it to scare us to get us
[15:53] Speaker 2: out the area, why weren't they doing it when we
[15:56] Speaker 2: were going up? This happened on the way down. Would
[16:00] Speaker 2: have thought if you were somebody up there and you
[16:03] Speaker 2: didn't want folks being near you, you would stop them
[16:08] Speaker 2: from coming up, not watch them, wait for them to
[16:13] Speaker 2: go down, and then you know, try and scare them.
[16:16] Speaker 1: If that makes sense, No, it absolutely does. Thinking back
[16:22] Speaker 1: to how you saw the rock, the rocks fly out
[16:26] Speaker 1: of out of the bushes. As a physical therapist, could
[16:32] Speaker 1: you tell anything about what was throwing the rocks by
[16:36] Speaker 1: the way it was thrown.
[16:41] Speaker 2: Well, it was a straight trajectory. It was horizontal, you know,
[16:45] Speaker 2: it came straight out and it was thrown with forces.
[16:48] Speaker 2: It would be like you or I picking up a
[16:52] Speaker 2: stone and throwing a stone. I mean, you know, you've
[17:00] Speaker 2: got to remember we've been in the country for a
[17:02] Speaker 2: couple of months. I was getting to grips with you know,
[17:07] Speaker 2: the wildlife, for fauna and stuff. And you know, I
[17:10] Speaker 2: got on that day and I was thinking, right, you know,
[17:14] Speaker 2: a bear, you know, a bear can't pick a rock
[17:16] Speaker 2: up like that, and for a rock and you know,
[17:19] Speaker 2: as a as a physical therapist, there's got to be
[17:21] Speaker 2: something with with thumbs and fingers and opposing some to
[17:25] Speaker 2: grasp a rock and throw it. And you know, if
[17:33] Speaker 2: either being in Asia or South America, you'd probably think
[17:37] Speaker 2: it was a monkey or something, you know, a primate.
[17:41] Speaker 2: But but we weren't, and I didn't think that logic
[17:45] Speaker 2: would tell you it was a person. But I still
[17:49] Speaker 2: can't get my head around this. I never once felt
[17:53] Speaker 2: it was a person, and I don't know why. And
[17:56] Speaker 2: I'll be honest with you, it troubled me. It really
[17:59] Speaker 2: troubled me for for a bit because there was no
[18:03] Speaker 2: people up there. I'm convinced of that. I'm convinced of that.
[18:07] Speaker 2: It was a weird feeling, but your rational brain is
[18:11] Speaker 2: saying to you, oh, only a person confer a rock.
[18:17] Speaker 2: But the flip side was I strongly felt that it
[18:21] Speaker 2: wasn't a person. And I said to my wife, you know,
[18:25] Speaker 2: do you think anybody was up there? And she said, well,
[18:27] Speaker 2: we didn't see or hear anyone. You know, we didn't
[18:30] Speaker 2: see any sign or anything like that. It's, you know,
[18:39] Speaker 2: all these years down the line, I'm still baffled by it.
[18:42] Speaker 2: I mean, there's a bit of me now that wishes
[18:46] Speaker 2: the wishes I could have. Well, I say, held my
[18:50] Speaker 2: ground and waited to see what happened. I had my
[18:53] Speaker 2: boy with me, you know, he faced is my pority,
[18:56] Speaker 2: as is my wife. If I was alone hiker now,
[18:59] Speaker 2: I mean, depending on how I felt, I would have
[19:01] Speaker 2: tried to pluck up the courage to just try and
[19:03] Speaker 2: hang in there a little bit longer and see what
[19:07] Speaker 2: it was. But you know, I must have been later
[19:10] Speaker 2: on that evening, I became a bit angry about it,
[19:13] Speaker 2: and you know, kind of it's not necessarily saying, right,
[19:20] Speaker 2: I'm going to state back, but I just wish because
[19:25] Speaker 2: I heard something moving, you know that that I heard.
[19:28] Speaker 2: You know, I could hear these like thuds, and I
[19:30] Speaker 2: could hear heavy breaking your branches. You know, you could
[19:33] Speaker 2: tell they were loud snaps. And my wife heard that
[19:37] Speaker 2: as well. I mean, it really affects I say, it
[19:42] Speaker 2: really affected her. She will not go to that area
[19:45] Speaker 2: at all. She just she just doesn't do it. And
[19:49] Speaker 2: you know, the one thing I will say in my family,
[19:51] Speaker 2: I'm the only one that believes in this subject. The
[19:54] Speaker 2: rest of my family thinks, you know, just think it's
[19:57] Speaker 2: all miss So they tease me a bit. But I
[20:02] Speaker 2: always say to my wife, well what do you think
[20:05] Speaker 2: it was that day? And all she ever said was,
[20:07] Speaker 2: I don't know, I don't know what it was, but
[20:09] Speaker 2: I just don't want to go back. So it was
[20:14] Speaker 2: it was a strange situation. And I let you know,
[20:20] Speaker 2: after a few days, you forget about it, and you know,
[20:23] Speaker 2: off you go again and again. I can look back
[20:28] Speaker 2: now and think I can reflect on things that happened
[20:32] Speaker 2: shortly after and think, oh, there was something going on,
[20:34] Speaker 2: and what happened. My wife had a care work. She
[20:38] Speaker 2: was doing work for a client. He just needed some
[20:41] Speaker 2: short term care, and it just so happened this client
[20:44] Speaker 2: and her husband that they're retired, but they're very keen
[20:47] Speaker 2: hikers and pretty hardcore hikers, and my wife's got to
[20:52] Speaker 2: know them. And we bought the house in the early
[20:57] Speaker 2: part of twenty seventeen, and my wife and I liked
[21:00] Speaker 2: them around one evening just to come and meet me
[21:04] Speaker 2: and my boys and see the house. And it turned
[21:09] Speaker 2: out the husband's retired from the forestry service, so he
[21:15] Speaker 2: had a job where he would go out and survey
[21:20] Speaker 2: forest for potential logging, and he would have to do
[21:24] Speaker 2: like these I guess, these surveys on it on whether
[21:28] Speaker 2: it was sustainable, harmful to the forest and stuff. And
[21:33] Speaker 2: he'd had a career out of it. And I remember, Jeremiah,
[21:38] Speaker 2: we were sat down in our lounge and my wife
[21:42] Speaker 2: and this guy's wife they went upstairs. My wife was
[21:47] Speaker 2: showing her the house and I was tatting to this
[21:50] Speaker 2: guy and we've got friends with him now. They really
[21:53] Speaker 2: introduced us to a lot of hiking and we're very
[21:55] Speaker 2: grateful to impour it. And anyway, he said, you know,
[21:59] Speaker 2: I was remember he was sitting there and he said, oh,
[22:02] Speaker 2: you know, have you been hiking? And I said, oh,
[22:03] Speaker 2: I've done a little bit, but you know, I'm kind
[22:06] Speaker 2: of new to it. And he was like, I'll take
[22:08] Speaker 2: you out. Come with me. I'll show you some great hikes.
[22:10] Speaker 2: And we got talking and I, you know, naturally started
[22:15] Speaker 2: asking him about wildlife and bears and stuff like that.
[22:19] Speaker 2: And he's chatting away. And this area we get a
[22:23] Speaker 2: lot of black bears. We don't really get grizzlies. You know,
[22:27] Speaker 2: I've heard they pass through, but you're very unlikely to
[22:31] Speaker 2: see one. But you know, black bears I've seen multiple times.
[22:35] Speaker 2: But I don't know why. I said to him, didn't
[22:38] Speaker 2: ask you a question? And he was like sure, I said,
[22:41] Speaker 2: if you're out in the forest here, I said, what,
[22:44] Speaker 2: what could throw a rock at you? And I love
[22:49] Speaker 2: back now and he told his whole expression change and
[22:53] Speaker 2: he just looked withally confused. He went, what do you mean?
[22:56] Speaker 2: So I told him what had happened. What I've just
[22:58] Speaker 2: told you, And I remember he looked upstairs, and then
[23:03] Speaker 2: he looked at me and he leant forward and he
[23:06] Speaker 2: kind of went where was this? And I was telling him,
[23:09] Speaker 2: and then he was like, we're abouts on that trail
[23:12] Speaker 2: and I said, well, I don't know he'd be precise thing,
[23:14] Speaker 2: but I was telling him and he was kind of
[23:17] Speaker 2: like and he was really thinking about it. At the time,
[23:23] Speaker 2: I was just looking at him, thinking, oh, he's giving
[23:25] Speaker 2: this a good thought. I still maintained to this day
[23:29] Speaker 2: he knows stuff and he just doesn't really tell me.
[23:32] Speaker 2: He doesn't really tell me. But anyway, then he sat
[23:35] Speaker 2: back and he went, oh, it was a crazy hermit.
[23:38] Speaker 2: And I said, oh, I disagree, and he went, no, no,
[23:42] Speaker 2: you get these weird forest hermits out there. You know,
[23:45] Speaker 2: I will say to this day I've never really met one.
[23:47] Speaker 2: But anyway, this is what he said. And we left
[23:51] Speaker 2: it at that, and he said, hey, we'll go out
[23:55] Speaker 2: for a hike in a couple of weeks. We'll show
[23:58] Speaker 2: you a different area. And it gets happened. A couple
[24:02] Speaker 2: of weeks later, his son, who's a pretty hardcore outdoorsman, hiker, skier, etc.
[24:08] Speaker 2: He came to visit and we all met up on
[24:11] Speaker 2: a different location up this river valley, and my wife
[24:16] Speaker 2: and my youngest went and my wife and his wife
[24:19] Speaker 2: walked ahead with my youngest, and I held back with
[24:22] Speaker 2: the husband and their son, who was about I don't know, thirty,
[24:28] Speaker 2: And the husband waited for the ladies and my lad
[24:32] Speaker 2: to go further ahead. And then he I remember this, Jeremiah.
[24:36] Speaker 2: He tapped me on the arm and he went up.
[24:38] Speaker 2: He said, there, tell him about the rock throwing. And
[24:43] Speaker 2: I was like, well, and he meant, you know, this
[24:45] Speaker 2: is probably February, Jeremiah, you know, and very mind it
[24:47] Speaker 2: happened in October, he said. And he said, she son,
[24:51] Speaker 2: listen to this, and he said, you're tell him what happened.
[24:54] Speaker 2: So I told him it and his son looked, you
[24:57] Speaker 2: know again, looked all serious and and oh right, and
[25:02] Speaker 2: he's looking at his dad and he's Dan's looking at him.
[25:05] Speaker 2: And then the son goes, where is this? And I go, oh,
[25:08] Speaker 2: just further down here, and you know, I'm I'm going
[25:11] Speaker 2: because there's a road really and I called it the
[25:13] Speaker 2: Canadian side and the US side, and I said, oh,
[25:16] Speaker 2: the US side of the road, and the Sun went
[25:19] Speaker 2: really and he went like, what did you see? And
[25:21] Speaker 2: I didn't see anything, but I heard, you know, stuff
[25:24] Speaker 2: moving about and breaking, and he went oh. And they
[25:28] Speaker 2: both had this look. And I actually said to them
[25:30] Speaker 2: at the time, what is it? I went, just tell
[25:34] Speaker 2: me straight, what is it? And they're like, no, no, no, no, no,
[25:38] Speaker 2: it's nothing, it's nothing. And I said, there's something up.
[25:42] Speaker 2: I said, you're both looking a bit weird. You know,
[25:45] Speaker 2: you'll you'll keep this thing, you both know, and no, no, no, no, no, no,
[25:48] Speaker 2: it's good. And then they were like, come on here,
[25:51] Speaker 2: come on and let's catch them up, you know, before
[25:53] Speaker 2: we lose them. And they and they sort of left
[25:56] Speaker 2: it at that. And if I look at it now,
[25:59] Speaker 2: I think I think they knew something that they just
[26:04] Speaker 2: maybe didn't want to tell me. Whether that's because I
[26:09] Speaker 2: don't know, I would have blown it off or laughed
[26:11] Speaker 2: at them, I don't know, or or for whatever reason,
[26:15] Speaker 2: but I think they were aware of potentially what it
[26:19] Speaker 2: could have been at that time. And if I look
[26:26] Speaker 2: at it now, that was, like I guess, like a
[26:29] Speaker 2: subtle introduction. And then about yeah, it was that time
[26:34] Speaker 2: I just started working in private clinics as a physical therapist.
[26:38] Speaker 2: And you know, one of the great things about the
[26:41] Speaker 2: job of the work I do is I meet people
[26:43] Speaker 2: from all walks of life, and you know, you get
[26:47] Speaker 2: a nice report going with people and you ask them
[26:49] Speaker 2: about their work and their pastimes and stuff. And lots
[26:53] Speaker 2: of people in this area do hiking, and lots of
[26:55] Speaker 2: people do hunting. So I started asking a few hunters
[27:00] Speaker 2: and most of them were just like, well, I don't
[27:03] Speaker 2: know what that was. You know, that was a bit weird.
[27:06] Speaker 2: And then two or three of them said, oh, there's
[27:08] Speaker 2: lots of crazy people out in the area. I think
[27:12] Speaker 2: some people even told me, well, I remember them telling me, oh,
[27:17] Speaker 2: you know there's illegal grows, and you must have stumbled
[27:19] Speaker 2: across an a legal grow, and I was like, well,
[27:23] Speaker 2: it's not very well hidden. If it was, I said,
[27:25] Speaker 2: it's on a you know, it's on a hiking trail.
[27:31] Speaker 2: So I felt, you know, I guess I kind of
[27:34] Speaker 2: got over it, so to speak. Jeremiah and I was
[27:37] Speaker 2: getting more regular with my hiking and I had a
[27:40] Speaker 2: bit of kick going, you know, their spray nice I
[27:43] Speaker 2: started to you know, properly equip myself. And then it
[27:46] Speaker 2: was it was later on that year, so that's twenty seventeen,
[27:52] Speaker 2: I treated a policewoman, a member of the RCMP, and
[27:59] Speaker 2: it just happened. They were Indigenous, and you know, after
[28:03] Speaker 2: three or four visits with somebody, you know, you get
[28:05] Speaker 2: comfortable with them and you chat. And I was telling,
[28:09] Speaker 2: you know, she was asking me, you know, if you've
[28:10] Speaker 2: been out hiking and stuff, and I'm chatting away, and
[28:14] Speaker 2: I just got talking about things and she said, like,
[28:17] Speaker 2: have you seen anything cool? Like wildlife? And I was
[28:21] Speaker 2: talking and then I don't know why, but I brought
[28:24] Speaker 2: this thing up about the rocks or not the rock,
[28:28] Speaker 2: the rocks, and she said, what have you been told then?
[28:32] Speaker 2: And I said, oh, I said, well, most people tell
[28:34] Speaker 2: me it's like a hermit or a crazy person. And
[28:37] Speaker 2: then she said do you think that? And I said, oh,
[28:39] Speaker 2: I said it's weird. I said, I just didn't get
[28:41] Speaker 2: the feeling it was. I said, but I just don't
[28:44] Speaker 2: know what it was. And then and then I remember,
[28:47] Speaker 2: you know, she said, you understand I'm indigenous, you know,
[28:52] Speaker 2: I'm you know, do you understand our culture and our background?
[28:56] Speaker 2: And I said, oh, we're only very basic. And she said,
[29:01] Speaker 2: shall I tell you what I truly believe it is?
[29:03] Speaker 2: And I said, well, yeah, sure, I'd appreciate it, and
[29:05] Speaker 2: she said, I believe it's a sasquash. And initially I
[29:09] Speaker 2: kind of chuckled a bit, and then you know, I
[29:14] Speaker 2: suddenly realized I was chatting to a policewoman and she
[29:17] Speaker 2: gave me quite a stern look and she said, why
[29:20] Speaker 2: are you laughing? And I said, oh, I'm sorry. I said,
[29:23] Speaker 2: is that just you know, is that not a tourist thing?
[29:26] Speaker 2: And she said no. And she then explained the significance
[29:32] Speaker 2: of it in her culture. And she was telling me
[29:37] Speaker 2: that in her I guess tradition that they considered them
[29:44] Speaker 2: an ancient kind of tribe of humans. And I was like,
[29:49] Speaker 2: are they not like a missing link at like a
[29:50] Speaker 2: primate and she said, no, no, they're not. She said,
[29:54] Speaker 2: they're you know, they're like a unique people. And she said,
[29:59] Speaker 2: you know, a very long time ago, we actually had
[30:03] Speaker 2: links with them. And you know, I was like, this
[30:08] Speaker 2: was a bombshell for media. Am. I I was like,
[30:10] Speaker 2: oh my god, this is you know, where's this come from?
[30:13] Speaker 2: And her thoughts were she said, I think it was
[30:18] Speaker 2: throwing the rock set you could get you out, because
[30:23] Speaker 2: she felt this thing had seen something of danger maybe
[30:28] Speaker 2: like a bear or a googar, and it was ushering
[30:31] Speaker 2: you out of the area, which I thought was quite
[30:34] Speaker 2: an interesting way of looking at it. And then after that,
[30:38] Speaker 2: you know, I got on that day and I kind
[30:40] Speaker 2: of said it to my wife. You just said like, oh,
[30:43] Speaker 2: here we go, you know, just laughed and went, Now,
[30:46] Speaker 2: that's sort of nonsense. But I'm sure you know yourself
[30:51] Speaker 2: and from people you've spoken to. I went down a
[30:54] Speaker 2: massive rabbit hole that day. I got on Google and
[30:58] Speaker 2: then that was it. I was just all in, you know,
[31:00] Speaker 2: I was on all, you know, looking at everything online.
[31:05] Speaker 2: I started to listen to podcasts, I bought books, and
[31:10] Speaker 2: then for weeks afterwards, every time I went out, every
[31:13] Speaker 2: little snap or sound in the forest was a Sasqus.
[31:16] Speaker 2: You know, I can honestly say now. I became obsessed
[31:19] Speaker 2: with it. And it was a while later that I
[31:26] Speaker 2: was still treating her. She came back for a different
[31:28] Speaker 2: injury and I was looking to buy a car. I
[31:32] Speaker 2: was looking to buy a four wheel grind and she said, well,
[31:35] Speaker 2: if you do see one you like, get in touch
[31:38] Speaker 2: with my husband. I'll give you his cell phone. He's
[31:41] Speaker 2: also asked the MP he knows a lot he's a hunter,
[31:45] Speaker 2: he's indigenous as well. He'll come out and make sure
[31:47] Speaker 2: you get the right vehicle. I said, oh, that's great.
[31:52] Speaker 2: So I ended up buying a really old four runner
[31:54] Speaker 2: Toyota four Runner. I still have it. The husband, Harrison,
[31:59] Speaker 2: came out with me and when I bought it, he said,
[32:05] Speaker 2: come and pick me up. And he said, I'll show
[32:07] Speaker 2: you some kind of forest service roads, logging roads you
[32:11] Speaker 2: could drive up the River valley. And we went out
[32:14] Speaker 2: for several hours in an afternoon, you know, driving about,
[32:17] Speaker 2: getting out, looking around, and inevitably we got on this subject.
[32:22] Speaker 2: And you know, he was listening to me and he
[32:27] Speaker 2: was like, oh, yeah, you know, and he said, he said, yeah,
[32:30] Speaker 2: I agree with my wife. He said, I think you
[32:32] Speaker 2: came across one. And then he's got a phone out
[32:36] Speaker 2: of Jeremiah. He's got his cell phone and you have
[32:38] Speaker 2: a look at this, and it was a video of
[32:41] Speaker 2: him that his wife took from her car and they
[32:44] Speaker 2: were out in that River valley scouting for the potential game,
[32:50] Speaker 2: you know, their hunters. And on this video you can
[32:56] Speaker 2: hear this crazy vocalization and you can see the husband
[33:01] Speaker 2: looking up into the forest and you can hear his
[33:05] Speaker 2: wife he's recording him on the phone, going you know,
[33:07] Speaker 2: what the heck is that? And he's like, I don't know,
[33:11] Speaker 2: and it goes on for about thirty seconds. Looking back
[33:16] Speaker 2: bizarre it sounded almost bits like hyaenas and I'm familiar
[33:23] Speaker 2: with coyotes and I said to him, is that coyotes?
[33:25] Speaker 2: And he went no, no, no, he said they weren't.
[33:27] Speaker 2: That wasn't a coyote. He said, trust me, He said,
[33:30] Speaker 2: I know my animals. And I said, what what was that?
[33:34] Speaker 2: And he said, it's one of these, you know, one
[33:36] Speaker 2: of these beings. And then he said to me, he
[33:41] Speaker 2: said before his wife recorded it, he said, there was
[33:46] Speaker 2: other vocalizations and what were they like? And I remember it.
[33:49] Speaker 2: He always said to me it sounded like a pissed
[33:52] Speaker 2: off gorilla. And I you know, I said to him,
[33:55] Speaker 2: I said, so these things really are you know, really
[33:58] Speaker 2: are real? And he went, oh yeah, but he said
[34:00] Speaker 2: you better believe it. And he told me, I don't know.
[34:04] Speaker 2: It wasn't in this area. But he told me a
[34:07] Speaker 2: couple of things. He told me once when he was young,
[34:09] Speaker 2: he went hunting, or he was camping in the winter
[34:12] Speaker 2: off kind of hunting with his family. He was a
[34:14] Speaker 2: young kid, and when they got out in the morning,
[34:17] Speaker 2: he said there was massive footprints as well as small footprints,
[34:21] Speaker 2: much smaller footprints. But he said they looked like human footprints.
[34:26] Speaker 2: And I said, well, what was that and he said, oh,
[34:28] Speaker 2: it was clearly an adult with a young And he said,
[34:32] Speaker 2: I remember my dad and my uncle saying to me,
[34:35] Speaker 2: whatever you do, don't follow these footprints. So he was
[34:39] Speaker 2: telling me this, and then he also told me a
[34:42] Speaker 2: few years earlier, not before that, when he was a kid,
[34:48] Speaker 2: but a few years ago he was telling me. He was,
[34:52] Speaker 2: what do they call it when they do like spotting
[34:54] Speaker 2: for hunting, you know, with a scope and he was
[34:56] Speaker 2: looking up a mountainside with snow and he said, he's
[35:00] Speaker 2: or an upright being just booking it up this mountain.
[35:05] Speaker 2: And he said, Rod, there was no way a human
[35:07] Speaker 2: could do what this thing was doing. And he said
[35:10] Speaker 2: it was too big. And he said he watched it
[35:12] Speaker 2: through a scope on another mountain side, you know, for
[35:15] Speaker 2: about five minutes. So I was, you know, like I say,
[35:20] Speaker 2: that's when I started to think. And then you know,
[35:22] Speaker 2: you look into it and then you come across like
[35:25] Speaker 2: Harrison Hot Springs, Sasquatched Provincial Park, and you know, you think,
[35:30] Speaker 2: you know, I'm in an.
[35:31] Speaker 3: Area where there's quite a rich history of this. So
[35:38] Speaker 3: that was when, you know, I started to get an
[35:43] Speaker 3: interest in this and kind of relate back to the
[35:46] Speaker 3: rock and think that there could be a potential that
[35:50] Speaker 3: this thing was doing it. So I guess it was
[35:53] Speaker 3: twenty seventeen. Might going right back to that question of
[35:57] Speaker 3: yours where the penny dropped for me, so to speak.
[36:02] Speaker 1: My goodness, what a place to start, going down a
[36:07] Speaker 1: rabbit hole into Sasquatch, I mean, is.
[36:10] Speaker 2: The perfect And I went, I went head first down.
[36:15] Speaker 2: I I'll be honest with you, I went. It was
[36:17] Speaker 2: a bit unhealthy, you know, I just you know. And
[36:23] Speaker 2: then I was also really naive and thought, I'm going
[36:27] Speaker 2: to see one of these things in no time at all.
[36:30] Speaker 2: And I would go off exploring for one of the
[36:34] Speaker 2: better word, I would go off the beaten path. I
[36:36] Speaker 2: would go off on older bandoned logging roads just to
[36:39] Speaker 2: see where things were. Just I know, it sounds mad,
[36:43] Speaker 2: and I realize now it was a bit silly, just
[36:47] Speaker 2: in the hope of finding a track or or hearing
[36:51] Speaker 2: something or potentially seeing something, you know, But I was
[36:57] Speaker 2: I'm one of these people. If I get interested in something,
[36:59] Speaker 2: you know, I'll just read anything on it. And that's
[37:02] Speaker 2: exactly what I did. And I went through this phase where,
[37:12] Speaker 2: like I say, I was all in on it, and
[37:14] Speaker 2: then I've gone through a couple of phases where I
[37:18] Speaker 2: kind of go off topic or go off the subject
[37:22] Speaker 2: because I kind of think, no, no, it's nonsense. And
[37:26] Speaker 2: we were out in Harrison Hot Springs. This is maybe
[37:30] Speaker 2: a year or so later. We were out in Harrison
[37:32] Speaker 2: Hotsprings and we went to this museum, this Sasquats Museum,
[37:35] Speaker 2: and you know, it's not the biggest museum, but it
[37:38] Speaker 2: was interesting. And you know, they've got like reports in
[37:42] Speaker 2: there and cast of footprints and to be honest, you know,
[37:45] Speaker 2: to actually see a cast of a footprint. They've got
[37:48] Speaker 2: some I believe they might be original replica cast from
[37:53] Speaker 2: the Patterson Gimling site. But you know, you look at
[37:56] Speaker 2: these cast and you think, bloody hell, you know this
[37:58] Speaker 2: is massive. You know, you really get an appreciation how
[38:02] Speaker 2: big these tracks are. Anyway, I was in chatting to
[38:07] Speaker 2: the curator, so to speak, and I said, oh, I said,
[38:11] Speaker 2: you know, we were hiking, and my wife just rolled
[38:15] Speaker 2: her eyes and she had walked off, and I I'm
[38:20] Speaker 2: going to tell her, And I told her I'd tell
[38:22] Speaker 2: him this lady what happened. And then she was like, oh,
[38:24] Speaker 2: you know, you need to speak to this guy and
[38:26] Speaker 2: it just happens. I'm probably not going to tell you
[38:31] Speaker 2: who it was, but if I did, you know that
[38:32] Speaker 2: it was straight away. This guy has written books on
[38:36] Speaker 2: the subject, and I'd actually bought some of some of
[38:39] Speaker 2: these books, and he'd helped set up the museum and
[38:42] Speaker 2: provide the cast and different stuff and photos and things.
[38:47] Speaker 2: And he was from around you know, he actually knew
[38:51] Speaker 2: like John Green, Reneida Hindon, Peter Burn and Grover Krantz
[38:56] Speaker 2: all that lot. Anyway, she said he lives fairly locally.
[39:01] Speaker 2: She said you need to get in touch with him
[39:03] Speaker 2: and tell him what happened because he records and files
[39:07] Speaker 2: all these reports. So I was like, oh great, you know,
[39:11] Speaker 2: so I got his details and like we're doing now.
[39:18] Speaker 2: He called me and I started telling him what had happened,
[39:24] Speaker 2: and he, for one of a better word, he just
[39:29] Speaker 2: rubbished it. He went, oh no, he said, it's all
[39:32] Speaker 2: it's all bs. You know, they don't throw rocks. Nobody's
[39:36] Speaker 2: ever seen one throwing a rock. I was like, really,
[39:39] Speaker 2: I said, I've read books on it and I've read reports.
[39:42] Speaker 2: He went, no, no, no, he went, they don't throw rocks.
[39:44] Speaker 2: He went, there's been no sighting of one throwing the rock.
[39:47] Speaker 2: He went, there's no evidence for it. So I was like, oh, okay,
[39:52] Speaker 2: and he said, yeah, yeah, you just you came across
[39:56] Speaker 2: a hermit and again I said, no, I don't think
[39:59] Speaker 2: I did. He said, no, you did. I said no.
[40:01] Speaker 2: I said, he had to be there at the time
[40:03] Speaker 2: to realize it wasn't a person. I said, if you'd
[40:06] Speaker 2: have been with us, you know it wasn't a person.
[40:10] Speaker 2: So we were starting to get I guess a little
[40:13] Speaker 2: bit heated over it, right, And anyway, I just thought, well,
[40:17] Speaker 2: here's here's a so called expert. So I started firing
[40:21] Speaker 2: off questions. I said, you know, what about wood knocking,
[40:25] Speaker 2: and he was like, yeah, people say they do, but
[40:29] Speaker 2: again there's no there's there's not one report of one
[40:33] Speaker 2: being thing making a wood knock or clacking rocks together.
[40:38] Speaker 2: Then I started asking other questions about other things, and
[40:41] Speaker 2: he just seemed to dismiss everything. I'm listening to him,
[40:45] Speaker 2: and to be honest, Sarah and I I was just
[40:48] Speaker 2: like this guy's been writing books on this. You know,
[40:51] Speaker 2: you can find this guy on YouTube. This guy goes
[40:54] Speaker 2: on these YouTube documentaries. You know, he's featured on some podcasts.
[40:59] Speaker 2: He famous for this. And I thought, it's just dismissing
[41:04] Speaker 2: so many things. So I said to him, do you
[41:09] Speaker 2: actually believe in it? And she kind of went, well, yeah, yeah,
[41:15] Speaker 2: and I went, so you do and he went yeah.
[41:17] Speaker 2: I went what do you think it is? And he
[41:19] Speaker 2: went oh, he said, I think it's an discovered North
[41:23] Speaker 2: American primate And I said, well, what about some of
[41:27] Speaker 2: the indigenous things about it being, you know, an ancient
[41:33] Speaker 2: human tribe. No, no, no, no, he said that. No,
[41:36] Speaker 2: it's not that at all. He went, it's an undisturbed primate.
[41:39] Speaker 2: And then I said, and this is still my view now,
[41:42] Speaker 2: and it's only my view. I appreciate that. I said
[41:45] Speaker 2: to him, do you not think we would have called
[41:48] Speaker 2: it by now? And he went no, no, it's highly intelligent.
[41:51] Speaker 2: And I said, so you're telling me there's an ape
[41:53] Speaker 2: out there more intelligent than a human. And he was like, well,
[41:57] Speaker 2: this is highly intelligent and I said, well, it can't
[42:00] Speaker 2: be that in my mind, because we would have got
[42:03] Speaker 2: one stuff in a museum or certainly catalogs by now.
[42:08] Speaker 2: But anyway, we we you know, we we finished the
[42:11] Speaker 2: phone call and I just was very negative about everything.
[42:16] Speaker 2: I just was like, you know what, this is all
[42:18] Speaker 2: complete nonsense. It's full of people who are out making
[42:22] Speaker 2: themselves to be experts and have got no true interest,
[42:25] Speaker 2: and I just taking your money. And I went off
[42:29] Speaker 2: the subject. You know, could be honest and put the
[42:32] Speaker 2: books away, stop watching anything from YouTube, stop listening to
[42:37] Speaker 2: some podcasts. I was just like, I've just been completely
[42:40] Speaker 2: had still baffled by what happened with the Rocks, but
[42:46] Speaker 2: just thought it's all you know, it's all here say
[42:52] Speaker 2: and kind of left it to that. And I guess
[42:54] Speaker 2: I went really cold on the subject. And that period
[43:01] Speaker 2: was of leading up into two thousand and you know,
[43:06] Speaker 2: there was that big world event in two thousand where
[43:09] Speaker 2: things got locked down, shut down. My clinic was closed
[43:14] Speaker 2: for two months, you know, only select businesses were open.
[43:19] Speaker 2: So I just started doing a kind of hiking every day.
[43:22] Speaker 2: I was very lucky, you know, I was going out
[43:25] Speaker 2: several times a week. My wife was still working as
[43:27] Speaker 2: a nurse, the boys were home from school, you know,
[43:30] Speaker 2: the schools were closed. So I said to my wife,
[43:33] Speaker 2: I'm going to go hiking. She said sure, and it
[43:35] Speaker 2: was great because you didn't see anyone, you had no contact.
[43:41] Speaker 2: And it was during this time that I found what
[43:46] Speaker 2: I thought might be a large track. This was the
[43:50] Speaker 2: photo that I sent you a couple of days ago.
[43:54] Speaker 2: I don't know if you got to saw it to
[43:56] Speaker 2: see it at all. Yeah, yeah, so I yeah again. Look,
[44:04] Speaker 2: it's just my opinion. I thought it looked like a
[44:06] Speaker 2: large human footprint. I took a photo of it. I
[44:12] Speaker 2: put my foot next to it. I tried to make
[44:15] Speaker 2: an impression in the ground. Didn't leave a mark at all.
[44:20] Speaker 2: You know, I weigh about two hundred and thirty pounds
[44:24] Speaker 2: at six foot, you know, I'm a pretty lean two thirty.
[44:28] Speaker 2: I go to the gym a lot and always have,
[44:30] Speaker 2: and I was pushing my foot in and couldn't leave
[44:32] Speaker 2: an indentation. I got home, I sad it to my
[44:35] Speaker 2: wife and I said, what do you think? She said,
[44:37] Speaker 2: that looks like a massive footprint, and then she laughed,
[44:43] Speaker 2: and then she went, oh, there you go. You know
[44:45] Speaker 2: you've got your big foot at last. And I don't know.
[44:49] Speaker 2: I kept it. I sent it to a couple of people.
[44:55] Speaker 2: One of them was like, yeah, yeah, that really looks
[44:58] Speaker 2: like one. One of them was like, no, no, I don't
[45:00] Speaker 2: think it is. So you know, I had the mixed
[45:05] Speaker 2: views on that, but just kept the photo anyway, you know,
[45:09] Speaker 2: just because I thought it was quite interesting. During this
[45:13] Speaker 2: period as well, id some I guess you'd call it
[45:18] Speaker 2: whooping from a value. One day when I was out hiking,
[45:22] Speaker 2: you know, whoops. As far as I know, there's not
[45:27] Speaker 2: anything recognized around here wildlifewise that will whoop like this
[45:33] Speaker 2: thing did. So for about a minute I heard this loud,
[45:36] Speaker 2: distant whooping in the mountain range. And then you know,
[45:43] Speaker 2: that kind of piqued my interest again. I guess I
[45:47] Speaker 2: started to, you know, think, hang on a second, you know. So,
[45:53] Speaker 2: but I was still, I guess, fifty to fifty sitting
[45:57] Speaker 2: on the fence. What wasn't necessarily one way or the other.
[46:03] Speaker 2: But you know, again, I was out almost every day
[46:06] Speaker 2: doing a hike for several hours a day. And then
[46:13] Speaker 2: during during that period, I was right up on an old,
[46:20] Speaker 2: very old trail going up a forest, up through a mountain,
[46:26] Speaker 2: and I don't know, I think i'll send you the
[46:28] Speaker 2: video of it. I videoed and took photos of to me,
[46:33] Speaker 2: but like quite a distinct tree formation, and I think
[46:40] Speaker 2: I showed you. I think I sent you the video again.
[46:43] Speaker 2: I don't know if you've been able to see it,
[46:44] Speaker 2: but I you know, i'd read about stuff and I thought, oh,
[46:51] Speaker 2: I wonder if it's anything to do. I then sent
[46:56] Speaker 2: it to quite a recognized in the field of this subject.
[47:02] Speaker 2: They got They kindly got back to me very promptly
[47:05] Speaker 2: and just said, oh, no, that's one hundred percent snowfall.
[47:08] Speaker 2: I've seen these all the time. That's snowfall. And you
[47:12] Speaker 2: know they've been looking into this subject way longer than
[47:17] Speaker 2: I have. So I was like, okay, that's why I
[47:24] Speaker 2: appreciate it, and just thought, yeah, I'm just I'm being
[47:28] Speaker 2: a bit irrational now I'm putting everything down to one
[47:32] Speaker 2: of these creatures. So you know, again, I wouldn't say
[47:37] Speaker 2: it quite went off the subject, but just calmed down
[47:40] Speaker 2: a little bit. So up until that point I was
[47:43] Speaker 2: I was, I guess gepping in and out of the subject,
[47:47] Speaker 2: just just based on my experience and feedback. But in
[47:53] Speaker 2: this area where this this same rough area, where this
[47:59] Speaker 2: tree structure and the footprint, I might add, well, what
[48:02] Speaker 2: I thought was a footprint I might add, was found
[48:06] Speaker 2: during this time. Train one of the local outdoor groups
[48:11] Speaker 2: here was asking for volunteers to go and help the
[48:14] Speaker 2: trail maintenance, where you just go up and you know,
[48:18] Speaker 2: cut down branches and tidy up the trail. And I
[48:21] Speaker 2: went along with it. And I went with this group
[48:23] Speaker 2: of people, probably about ten of us, and you know,
[48:27] Speaker 2: I was given a pair of loppers, and there was
[48:31] Speaker 2: this plan for the day and they and they put
[48:33] Speaker 2: us all at different stages along this trail, and the
[48:39] Speaker 2: whole time you were there, you just didn't see anybody.
[48:42] Speaker 2: You know, they agreed to meet at certain times. I
[48:46] Speaker 2: was bending overlooking and in the forest I heard this.
[48:52] Speaker 2: I can't limit it at all, this weird whistling. So
[48:56] Speaker 2: I heard it. I sort of still that, looked around,
[49:02] Speaker 2: looked into the forest where it came from, didn't hear anything.
[49:07] Speaker 2: Turned around again, bent over, started cutting stuff again. It
[49:12] Speaker 2: was all the game. And I did the same thing.
[49:15] Speaker 2: I got up, I looked around again, and nothing again.
[49:18] Speaker 2: And this happened three or four times. And the last
[49:25] Speaker 2: time it happened, I turned around and looked into the
[49:27] Speaker 2: forest for quite a while, probably for two or three minutes,
[49:30] Speaker 2: because I thought, you know, I knew somebody playing games
[49:33] Speaker 2: with me, And it was about half an hour later
[49:36] Speaker 2: everybody met up and I saw the person who was
[49:41] Speaker 2: way up the trail ahead of me coming back down
[49:44] Speaker 2: round like a switched back, and I said, how far
[49:49] Speaker 2: up were you? And then she said, oh, I was
[49:51] Speaker 2: way up there. And I said was there anyone between
[49:54] Speaker 2: you and me? And she said no? And I said
[49:59] Speaker 2: to will you we at me? And she went no, no, no, no,
[50:02] Speaker 2: she said I've been up there. I said were you?
[50:04] Speaker 2: I said, were you like playing tricks from me? And
[50:07] Speaker 2: she said no, no, I wasn't. So I didn't say
[50:12] Speaker 2: any more than that. But it wasn't a bird whistle,
[50:17] Speaker 2: you know. It wasn't anything like that. And it was
[50:18] Speaker 2: every time I turned the back, something or somebody was
[50:22] Speaker 2: whistling at me. So again I can't I'm not even
[50:27] Speaker 2: going to try and attempt to whistle like it was.
[50:30] Speaker 2: But it didn't sound like a bird to me. And this,
[50:37] Speaker 2: you know again, I just spoke to this lady about it,
[50:39] Speaker 2: and she said, well are you asking? And I said, oh,
[50:41] Speaker 2: somebody was whistling at me and she just went, oh, okay,
[50:44] Speaker 2: that's weird. And I didn't think any more of it,
[50:49] Speaker 2: so I sort of, you know, left it at that. Again,
[50:53] Speaker 2: I kept hiking, you know, I kept hiking the whole time,
[50:56] Speaker 2: but I kind of went out with the mindset of
[51:00] Speaker 2: go out and enjoy the high forget about this thing,
[51:03] Speaker 2: just you know, appreciate the grey outdoors and listen to
[51:07] Speaker 2: the sounds of nature. So I, I'll be honest with you, Jeremiah,
[51:10] Speaker 2: I went a little bit unhealthy with it at times.
[51:13] Speaker 2: I just I just got to became a little bit
[51:14] Speaker 2: too obsessed with it, which wasn't a good thing. And
[51:18] Speaker 2: you know, depending on who I spoke to, I'll glow
[51:20] Speaker 2: hot and cold, you know, sort of regarding it. But
[51:25] Speaker 2: then what I started to do is a physical therapist,
[51:30] Speaker 2: I started to you know, when I'm chatting to a patient,
[51:34] Speaker 2: I asked them what they do, you know, in the
[51:36] Speaker 2: spare time. And if they were like, oh, I'm a
[51:40] Speaker 2: high court hunter, I'll go, oh, right, you know where
[51:43] Speaker 2: you go. And then I I try and get a
[51:46] Speaker 2: grasp on how receptive they are. And I always go like,
[51:51] Speaker 2: have you see you know a lot of wildlife? And
[51:54] Speaker 2: if they say no, I leave it at that. But
[51:56] Speaker 2: if they say, oh, yeah, I've seen stuff, and then
[51:58] Speaker 2: I'll say like, you know, you see any other stuff,
[52:00] Speaker 2: and I'll say I'll even say, like, yeah, anything weird happened.
[52:05] Speaker 2: And that's when I've started to get really accounts from
[52:11] Speaker 2: people that told me stuff. And usually when they told me,
[52:17] Speaker 2: I've then told him about the original incident back in
[52:21] Speaker 2: twenty sixteen with the rocks, and then we get talking
[52:24] Speaker 2: about the subject. But I remember one of them was
[52:28] Speaker 2: a guy and he said he was driving over one
[52:31] Speaker 2: of the bridges up this river valley and he's Adam,
[52:36] Speaker 2: and he saw one of these things in the river
[52:40] Speaker 2: really bathing and washing, you know, sort of stooped over wedding. It's,
[52:48] Speaker 2: you know, I say, rubbing itself, almost like if you're
[52:51] Speaker 2: in a shower and you're scratching your back, washing your back.
[52:54] Speaker 2: And he said to me, one hundred percent it's one
[52:59] Speaker 2: of these things. He said it wasn't a person. And
[53:03] Speaker 2: I said to him to believe in him, and he said, well,
[53:05] Speaker 2: I'm ninety nine percent convinced I've seen one, so he said,
[53:08] Speaker 2: I do. So he was an interesting one. And I
[53:13] Speaker 2: had a patient who is Indigenous. He lives on one
[53:20] Speaker 2: of the reserves up near one of the lakes here,
[53:25] Speaker 2: and he recalls as a kid, one of these things
[53:31] Speaker 2: on a regular basis, looking in through the bedroom window
[53:34] Speaker 2: at him and his siblings when he was younger. And
[53:39] Speaker 2: again he also said, as an adult, he's seen one
[53:44] Speaker 2: in the river in the summer. And he, you know,
[53:49] Speaker 2: when I asked him, he's similar to the the you know,
[53:54] Speaker 2: the policewoman going back years before. He said, you know,
[53:59] Speaker 2: we believe they're like an ancient side, but he thinks
[54:03] Speaker 2: that they have special abilities, you know, they they're almost
[54:08] Speaker 2: sort of supernatural beings. So he went down quite a
[54:16] Speaker 2: spiritual route on it, I guess, and I'm you know,
[54:19] Speaker 2: I'm you know. I wasn't disagreed with him. A tool,
[54:22] Speaker 2: you know, I said, yeah, you know, I get it,
[54:25] Speaker 2: but the best one I had, And this one I
[54:29] Speaker 2: didn't even ask about the subject or try any prompts.
[54:33] Speaker 2: This this guy, he moved here from Northern Ireland. And
[54:40] Speaker 2: I don't know if you've ever heard of somebody from
[54:42] Speaker 2: Northern Ireland. It's not like the Irish accent that you
[54:45] Speaker 2: would think of. It's a very separate accent to a
[54:50] Speaker 2: Republic of Irish accent. It's a very thick, kind of
[54:54] Speaker 2: like almost gruff accent, and he was telling me he
[54:59] Speaker 2: was about set two years old. He was incredibly fit,
[55:02] Speaker 2: and he said, I've always hunted and I said, oh,
[55:06] Speaker 2: like deer and he said no, bear and I said bear.
[55:08] Speaker 2: He said, yeah, I love I love bear. He said,
[55:11] Speaker 2: you know there meet their sausages, what have you? And
[55:16] Speaker 2: he said, you know, Rob, he said, I'm not one
[55:19] Speaker 2: of these hunters that sit in a deer stand. He said,
[55:22] Speaker 2: you know, I go on foot and I'm tracking these things.
[55:27] Speaker 2: But anyway, you know, I started asking him about wildlife
[55:30] Speaker 2: and things, and he's telling him about the hunting, and
[55:32] Speaker 2: I was treating him and I was doing a technique
[55:35] Speaker 2: and then right out the blue, he just looked at
[55:37] Speaker 2: me with a big smile on his face and he went,
[55:39] Speaker 2: I've seen a sasquatch, you know. And momentarily I thought
[55:43] Speaker 2: he's he been talking to does he know my wife
[55:46] Speaker 2: or something? So I almost looked at him and went
[55:49] Speaker 2: all right, and then I went and he went yeah,
[55:54] Speaker 2: and he went you probably don't believe me, and I said, well,
[55:57] Speaker 2: I didn't say that. I said, tell me what happened
[56:00] Speaker 2: and he said he moved to Canada when he was
[56:04] Speaker 2: eighteen or nineteen years old, and he bought a motorbike,
[56:09] Speaker 2: and he had he'd had a motorbike in Northern Ireland,
[56:13] Speaker 2: and you know the roads there are tarmac roads. They're
[56:16] Speaker 2: not like logging roads, you know forest service roads that
[56:19] Speaker 2: you have here. So he said, I got this motorbike
[56:22] Speaker 2: and he said, rob, I rode it everywhere I went
[56:24] Speaker 2: up the mountains, he said. I was always in the
[56:27] Speaker 2: mechanic shop having repaired. He said, I just went over
[56:30] Speaker 2: the roughest roads. But this is the story that always
[56:35] Speaker 2: stands out. He said it was in the summer. He
[56:38] Speaker 2: was coming up, I guess up a forest service road,
[56:41] Speaker 2: a logging road, and he said, I saw a staff
[56:45] Speaker 2: watched sunbathing. And I was like, what do you mean sunbathing?
[56:50] Speaker 2: And he said sunbathing. So he described this thing sitting
[56:56] Speaker 2: on a rocky ledge on its side. If you can
[57:00] Speaker 2: visualize this one he propped up, resting on one elbow
[57:06] Speaker 2: and I was like, oh yeah, I could see what
[57:09] Speaker 2: you say, sundaying. And I said what happened and he said, well,
[57:12] Speaker 2: I was driving up and he said I just saw
[57:16] Speaker 2: this giant naked hairy man and I went what And
[57:21] Speaker 2: he went, I saw this giant naked hairy man and
[57:25] Speaker 2: he said. He said, I waved down, and he said
[57:31] Speaker 2: I carried on riding and I waved at him and
[57:33] Speaker 2: I said, so you thought it was a giant naked
[57:35] Speaker 2: hairy man and he went, yeah, that's what it looked like.
[57:38] Speaker 2: And I went, he did you not think it was
[57:41] Speaker 2: a bit weird? And he went, I don't know, Rob.
[57:43] Speaker 2: He said, I just arrived it. He rode after waving
[57:47] Speaker 2: at it, and then he said, then this thing got
[57:49] Speaker 2: up and he said I hit the brakes immediately because
[57:52] Speaker 2: he said it was enormous, like he just got it
[57:55] Speaker 2: as a giant. And he said it got up and
[58:00] Speaker 2: he said, Rob, i'll tell you now, knowing what I
[58:02] Speaker 2: know about hunting, you went, it got up the side
[58:05] Speaker 2: of this mountain so quick and so swiftly. There's no
[58:11] Speaker 2: way a person could have done it. And he said
[58:14] Speaker 2: it went up the mountain and it was gone. And
[58:15] Speaker 2: I said what do you do? And he said, I
[58:17] Speaker 2: turned around and went back because he said it scared me.
[58:20] Speaker 2: And I said, so, was it like a primate and
[58:26] Speaker 2: he went no, no, he said it's not a primate.
[58:28] Speaker 2: He said it's a giant naked hairy man. And that's
[58:32] Speaker 2: all he kept describing it. As, and I said, so
[58:35] Speaker 2: you sent there giants. He said, yeah, it's like a
[58:36] Speaker 2: giant man rob and he said it definitely was a man.
[58:39] Speaker 2: He said, you know, because I remember he made a
[58:41] Speaker 2: joke he said this. He said, this man would be
[58:43] Speaker 2: popular with the lady's rob, if you know what I mean.
[58:46] Speaker 2: And I went, oh, okay, but he said, all these
[58:50] Speaker 2: people will tell you it's like a primate or something
[58:54] Speaker 2: along those lines. He said, not what I saw, but
[58:57] Speaker 2: he said massive like he was saying. It was about
[59:00] Speaker 2: a foot broad as anything, very muscular, and he said
[59:04] Speaker 2: for speed. It went up the mountain. And it was
[59:07] Speaker 2: interesting because he said, I just went away and thought, oh,
[59:12] Speaker 2: I saw a massive, naked, hairy man. And again I said,
[59:16] Speaker 2: did you know, I think that was a bit strange
[59:18] Speaker 2: and he went, well, I don't know. And then he
[59:21] Speaker 2: started dating a Canadian and he was telling me he
[59:25] Speaker 2: was somewhere with it and they were looking through a
[59:27] Speaker 2: book and there was like a drawing or something like
[59:32] Speaker 2: that of a sasquatch and then he went, oh, what's
[59:35] Speaker 2: this and his girlfriend at the time said, oh, we
[59:39] Speaker 2: call it's a sasquatch. And then he was like, oh,
[59:43] Speaker 2: I've seen that, and then he said. She was saying,
[59:47] Speaker 2: what do you mean you've seen it? And he said, oh,
[59:49] Speaker 2: I saw it, you know. Then he told what happened
[59:51] Speaker 2: and she went, no, no, these things aren't really and
[59:53] Speaker 2: he went, yeah, they I've seen one, but he always
[59:56] Speaker 2: called it. It's weird. He calls a sas watch, but
[1:00:01] Speaker 2: he talks about a giant man. It was because when
[1:00:06] Speaker 2: he came back on a subsequent visit, I asked him
[1:00:09] Speaker 2: more and he would use the term sasquatch, but he
[1:00:14] Speaker 2: was adamant, adamant it was a giant hairy man, not
[1:00:18] Speaker 2: not fur but hair. And then he said to me,
[1:00:21] Speaker 2: I said, have you ever seen one again? Since? He
[1:00:23] Speaker 2: went no, But he said I've smelt them. And I
[1:00:25] Speaker 2: said you smelt them and he said yeah. He said
[1:00:27] Speaker 2: rob he said, I've smelt bear, and I've smelt a
[1:00:30] Speaker 2: bear and it's got quietive think smell. He went, these thing.
[1:00:34] Speaker 2: He said, it stinks to high heaven. He said it's
[1:00:37] Speaker 2: worse than a skunk. And he said, I've been hunting
[1:00:40] Speaker 2: before and he said, I know, I've been very close
[1:00:43] Speaker 2: to them. But he was such an interesting one, Jeremiah,
[1:00:48] Speaker 2: because if you speak to him, it was so weird
[1:00:52] Speaker 2: because he's described in a sas watch that's what he saw.
[1:00:55] Speaker 2: But he's talking about it as if it was a
[1:00:58] Speaker 2: giant human and that's what it is in his mind.
[1:01:02] Speaker 2: And I said to him, so you're saying it's like
[1:01:04] Speaker 2: a person, and he went, oh, yeah, absolutely, but he
[1:01:08] Speaker 2: said it's the biggest person you've ever set eyes on.
[1:01:13] Speaker 2: That was one in particular that stands out to me
[1:01:19] Speaker 2: because he just said it so completely out of the blue,
[1:01:22] Speaker 2: and it was fascinating talking to him about it. And
[1:01:25] Speaker 2: he waved at this thing as well, because he just
[1:01:27] Speaker 2: thought it was a person, a big person. But he
[1:01:30] Speaker 2: said when it stood up, he said, then he realized,
[1:01:35] Speaker 2: you know, not to go any further. But this thing
[1:01:38] Speaker 2: took off anyway. And that I think was in the
[1:01:41] Speaker 2: Mission area, the mountains around Mission, because because I was
[1:01:44] Speaker 2: working in a different town, I was working in a
[1:01:46] Speaker 2: town called Abbastad at the time, and he was telling
[1:01:49] Speaker 2: me it was out that way and he still to
[1:01:51] Speaker 2: this day. I mean it was a few years ago
[1:01:54] Speaker 2: I saw him, but up until that point he was
[1:01:55] Speaker 2: still going out hunting and you know, up through the
[1:01:59] Speaker 2: mountains things. But he he said that it's not a primate.
[1:02:04] Speaker 2: He said, there's nothing primate about it or or ape
[1:02:09] Speaker 2: like about it. He said, it's it's it's a giant person.
[1:02:14] Speaker 2: And you know, it's just for me. It's fascinating when
[1:02:21] Speaker 2: when you know somebody and you know them as being
[1:02:23] Speaker 2: very genuine and nothing up to that point has made
[1:02:26] Speaker 2: you think that they fabricate or lie about anything, and
[1:02:29] Speaker 2: then they come out and tell you something like that.
[1:02:33] Speaker 2: It's incredible. So that that was, you know, a really
[1:02:39] Speaker 2: you know, interesting one for it. And then this year,
[1:02:44] Speaker 2: funnily enough, Harrison Hot Springs has a you know, it's
[1:02:48] Speaker 2: got bed and breakfast, some small hotels, and it's got
[1:02:51] Speaker 2: a large hotel, Harrison Hot Springs Hotel. And one of
[1:02:55] Speaker 2: my patients was at a conference there and she decided,
[1:02:59] Speaker 2: because her company paid for it, to stay all week
[1:03:03] Speaker 2: at the hotel rather than commute back to her home.
[1:03:09] Speaker 2: So anyway, I was asking her about what the hotel
[1:03:11] Speaker 2: was like, and this hotel is right by Harrison Lake,
[1:03:17] Speaker 2: and she went really annoying at night and I said
[1:03:20] Speaker 2: it was in the summer. I said, why is that?
[1:03:22] Speaker 2: And she's quite an overweight lady, and she said, you know,
[1:03:27] Speaker 2: when you're like me, rob, you sweat all the time.
[1:03:29] Speaker 2: So she said, I sleep with the windows open. And
[1:03:32] Speaker 2: she said, I had like the windows open to a
[1:03:35] Speaker 2: very small balcony, and these balconies look over the lake
[1:03:40] Speaker 2: and she went every night she went about two am.
[1:03:43] Speaker 2: Around that time, she went, there's this weird howling. And
[1:03:46] Speaker 2: I was like, well, do you in howling? She went,
[1:03:48] Speaker 2: it would start over one side of the lake, in
[1:03:51] Speaker 2: the mountains, and these mountains on this side of the lake,
[1:03:53] Speaker 2: on the east side, that's where that's watched Provincial Park is.
[1:03:58] Speaker 2: And you're not from Ruby Creek. I don't know if
[1:04:02] Speaker 2: you're familiar with the Ruby Creek story, but yeah, it's
[1:04:08] Speaker 2: out that way. So she said it would start on
[1:04:11] Speaker 2: that side of the mountains. And then she said, a
[1:04:16] Speaker 2: minute or two later, you hear it from the other
[1:04:18] Speaker 2: side of the mountain. And she said these calls would
[1:04:22] Speaker 2: go back and forth for I can't remember how long.
[1:04:27] Speaker 2: She said, for quite a period of time. So she said,
[1:04:29] Speaker 2: I'd lie there in bed hearing it from one side
[1:04:31] Speaker 2: and over on the other. And I said, what do
[1:04:35] Speaker 2: you think. She said, they were like screams, and they
[1:04:37] Speaker 2: were like owls. And I said like a wolf and
[1:04:42] Speaker 2: she said, no, not a wolf. And I will say
[1:04:46] Speaker 2: as far as I know, wolves are not very common
[1:04:50] Speaker 2: in this area at all. I've never met anyone who've
[1:04:53] Speaker 2: seen one. Coyotes, yeah, but not wolf. But she said
[1:04:57] Speaker 2: it wasn't like a wolf. And well I can say
[1:05:00] Speaker 2: about this particular lady is as a patient, I wasn't
[1:05:04] Speaker 2: going to press her and go, do you think it
[1:05:06] Speaker 2: was a sasquash because she probably would be the sort
[1:05:09] Speaker 2: of the patient that wouldn't come back to see me
[1:05:11] Speaker 2: because she think I was a crap pot. But in
[1:05:14] Speaker 2: my mind, I was just chucked in a way because
[1:05:18] Speaker 2: I thought, oh, you know, it's pretty interesting what she heard.
[1:05:22] Speaker 2: And I said to her, well, it must have been
[1:05:23] Speaker 2: big if you can hear it from one side and
[1:05:25] Speaker 2: then you can hear it you know something else was
[1:05:27] Speaker 2: calling from the other. And she was like yeah, I remember,
[1:05:30] Speaker 2: she said, really irritated because she said it happened every
[1:05:33] Speaker 2: night and it started to annoy me after after a while.
[1:05:37] Speaker 2: But you know, in my mind, I'm sort of thinking,
[1:05:41] Speaker 2: you know, how fortunate it was, and you know, just
[1:05:45] Speaker 2: a shame she couldn't try and somehow record it. But
[1:05:48] Speaker 2: again she would only have her her sort of cell phone.
[1:05:52] Speaker 2: But that's in you know, that's in the Harrison Hot
[1:05:55] Speaker 2: Springs area and going back. Really, he the chap that
[1:06:02] Speaker 2: I mentioned, Jeremiah, that was a retired forestry service worker.
[1:06:09] Speaker 2: I last hike with him last year. They now they
[1:06:13] Speaker 2: now go abroad a lot for vacations and things and
[1:06:16] Speaker 2: what have you. And the last time I went hiking
[1:06:19] Speaker 2: with him, he used to tease me a lot about sasquatch.
[1:06:21] Speaker 2: He used to go, you know, just always joke about it.
[1:06:24] Speaker 2: And I asked him many times over the years, have
[1:06:27] Speaker 2: you seen anything? And he went no, no, not not
[1:06:29] Speaker 2: at all. And I said you believe in it and
[1:06:32] Speaker 2: he went no, no, it's all a bunch of crap.
[1:06:34] Speaker 2: And I was like, okay. But last year I was
[1:06:37] Speaker 2: hiking with him and we were going through the forest
[1:06:41] Speaker 2: and we're just talking in general and he says, you
[1:06:45] Speaker 2: haven't seen a sasquatch And I sort of looked up
[1:06:50] Speaker 2: at him, like, oh, here we go again, and I
[1:06:52] Speaker 2: went no. And then he turned around and he looks
[1:06:55] Speaker 2: into me and he went really, And I went no.
[1:06:58] Speaker 2: I said, you know, I haven't And I went, why
[1:07:00] Speaker 2: are you doing all this again? And oh, okay, you've
[1:07:04] Speaker 2: never seen anyone? And I don't know. And I said
[1:07:06] Speaker 2: to him you'd better not tell me after all these
[1:07:10] Speaker 2: years you've seen something. And he went, well, I don't
[1:07:14] Speaker 2: think it was a sasquad. So I asked him what
[1:07:18] Speaker 2: he was on about, and what he described was I
[1:07:23] Speaker 2: guess like the Predator effect, you know, the cloaking. He
[1:07:27] Speaker 2: said he was out in the bush doing his work
[1:07:31] Speaker 2: once and he saw When I asked him, is it
[1:07:36] Speaker 2: like the Predator in the movie. He'd never seen Predator,
[1:07:39] Speaker 2: so he didn't know what I was on about. But
[1:07:41] Speaker 2: he said, it was like you were looking through a figure,
[1:07:45] Speaker 2: like a translucent figure. And really now, it's what some
[1:07:49] Speaker 2: people would say like a cloaking effect, like that Predator effect.
[1:07:53] Speaker 2: And I said, do you think it was an upright thing?
[1:07:56] Speaker 2: He said, oh yeah. He said you could see like limbs,
[1:07:59] Speaker 2: and you could see ur and it was big. So
[1:08:02] Speaker 2: I said to him, you know, what do you think
[1:08:05] Speaker 2: it was? And he said, well, it's clearly not what
[1:08:07] Speaker 2: they call a sasquatch because I couldn't see you know,
[1:08:10] Speaker 2: I could see right through it. But he'd never told
[1:08:13] Speaker 2: me that, And I said to him, why's he never
[1:08:15] Speaker 2: told me that before? And he said, well, you know,
[1:08:18] Speaker 2: why would I And I said, would you think it's
[1:08:21] Speaker 2: anything linked sasquatch, and he said, no, not at all.
[1:08:23] Speaker 2: He said, I don't know what that was, and then
[1:08:26] Speaker 2: he kind of laughed. He went, maybe it was a
[1:08:28] Speaker 2: big ghost, but he put you know, he didn't sort
[1:08:34] Speaker 2: of link it in any way. And he's the sort
[1:08:36] Speaker 2: of chat he teases me about the subject. So I
[1:08:38] Speaker 2: wasn't even going to start saying to him, Look, you
[1:08:42] Speaker 2: know some people believe these things cloak. So I again,
[1:08:46] Speaker 2: I left it at that. But for this area, it's
[1:08:52] Speaker 2: a strange area, Jeremiah, because people will tell you it's
[1:08:55] Speaker 2: the hotbed, but when you hear you don't hear too
[1:08:59] Speaker 2: much about it. And if you look at some of
[1:09:02] Speaker 2: the reports, they're from quite a long while ago, and
[1:09:06] Speaker 2: I sometimes wonder if these things are still in the
[1:09:08] Speaker 2: area much at all. But I guess it's trying to ask,
[1:09:13] Speaker 2: Like with what you do, it's trying to get the
[1:09:15] Speaker 2: right individual, to get them relaxed enough to tell you.
[1:09:20] Speaker 2: But the majority of people, if I ever hear them
[1:09:23] Speaker 2: talk about it, they rubbish the subject. They just they
[1:09:27] Speaker 2: don't think there's anything to it. You know, again, if
[1:09:33] Speaker 2: you go to Harrison Hotsprings, it's a big tourist thing,
[1:09:36] Speaker 2: but it's you know, it's an interesting subject. This where
[1:09:42] Speaker 2: are we? We're twenty twenty six. It's twenty twenty six,
[1:09:45] Speaker 2: not me today. Sorry, last year, it feels weird now
[1:09:48] Speaker 2: saying this. Last year, last summer, we had a really
[1:09:54] Speaker 2: unusual occurrence involving my youngest on Vancouver Island. So for
[1:10:02] Speaker 2: one of a better word, it was encrypted, but it
[1:10:04] Speaker 2: wasn't a sasquatch. It was a marine cryptid. Anyway, him
[1:10:07] Speaker 2: and his body saw a seawater crypted off the coast
[1:10:14] Speaker 2: where we were saying, and I realized that something like
[1:10:18] Speaker 2: this should be reported. So I got in touch with
[1:10:22] Speaker 2: the British Columbia Cryptozoological Society and they actually came out
[1:10:29] Speaker 2: to interview my son and his buddy to get a
[1:10:32] Speaker 2: description of what they saw. I'm going slightly off topic here,
[1:10:37] Speaker 2: but anyway, I then just got chatting to them about
[1:10:39] Speaker 2: general and I thought in general and I thought, pray,
[1:10:42] Speaker 2: I'll use this opportunity to talk to them about sasquatch.
[1:10:45] Speaker 2: And they actually took me out to the Ruby Creek
[1:10:52] Speaker 2: location where the Chapman's house actually was, which was pretty
[1:10:57] Speaker 2: cool because apparently it's not an easy place to get
[1:11:00] Speaker 2: to and you can only get to it with permission
[1:11:02] Speaker 2: because you kind of go down a private road. But
[1:11:06] Speaker 2: they showed me a bit that location, and I spent
[1:11:09] Speaker 2: a day with them in that area, just driving around
[1:11:14] Speaker 2: different spots, and it was interesting talking to them. But
[1:11:21] Speaker 2: you know, they they were saying that the side things
[1:11:24] Speaker 2: are probably dying down a little bit and becoming less
[1:11:26] Speaker 2: frequent than what they were and not as not as
[1:11:31] Speaker 2: reported as often either. But for me, you know, like
[1:11:36] Speaker 2: I'm doing with you, it's nice when you can talk
[1:11:38] Speaker 2: to somebody that has an interest in it that doesn't
[1:11:41] Speaker 2: rubbish it, because you just can't talk to people in general,
[1:11:45] Speaker 2: you know, about this subject. You know, I guess if
[1:11:48] Speaker 2: you're doing you know, what you do with the podcast
[1:11:51] Speaker 2: and the channel, you know you're able to do that,
[1:11:55] Speaker 2: But in general with me, I yeah, I just I
[1:11:59] Speaker 2: don't know anyone who outside of the patients that I've
[1:12:03] Speaker 2: met who have an interest in it, will believe there's
[1:12:06] Speaker 2: anything to do with it. And I, you know, I
[1:12:10] Speaker 2: still go out every weekend, but I now go out
[1:12:14] Speaker 2: just to enjoy things, and you know, I clear my
[1:12:18] Speaker 2: head and don't think about the subject, and you know,
[1:12:23] Speaker 2: whether I will see anything again, you know, it's probably
[1:12:26] Speaker 2: unlikely that I will. But the stuff I've had to
[1:12:29] Speaker 2: me does convince me that, you know, this is a
[1:12:33] Speaker 2: real thing. And those patients that I haven't met, they
[1:12:36] Speaker 2: were genuine people. You know. I got a good handle
[1:12:39] Speaker 2: on their personality. And I'm not a lot, you know,
[1:12:42] Speaker 2: a lie detective specialist. But when when you're a physical
[1:12:45] Speaker 2: therapist and you every day spent conversing with people, you know,
[1:12:50] Speaker 2: you get to figure out yourself the little body language
[1:12:54] Speaker 2: props if a lying in different stuff. And all these
[1:12:56] Speaker 2: people were very genuine. So it's been a great experience.
[1:13:00] Speaker 2: It's so far living here.
[1:13:01] Speaker 1: You know, for sure, what an absolutely fascinating journey of
[1:13:09] Speaker 1: rob that you've you've been on. I hope that you
[1:13:11] Speaker 1: are writing stuff down that you keep running into two
[1:13:16] Speaker 1: people that are having just wild encounters in this area,
[1:13:21] Speaker 1: which I mean, good for you. I'm glad there's someone
[1:13:24] Speaker 1: up there with the right viewpoint of things that is
[1:13:28] Speaker 1: able to keep track of what's going on.
[1:13:32] Speaker 2: My goodness. Well, just just to add, following on from
[1:13:40] Speaker 2: what happened with my son and his buddy in the summer,
[1:13:44] Speaker 2: I was telling one of my coworkers at work about this,
[1:13:47] Speaker 2: and I know him really well and I went in
[1:13:50] Speaker 2: a room with him and shut the door because he asked, oh,
[1:13:52] Speaker 2: how is your vacation on Vancouver Island? And I said, oh,
[1:13:55] Speaker 2: you know, you wouldn't believe this. And then he is like,
[1:14:00] Speaker 2: I said, you probably think I'm making this up. And
[1:14:03] Speaker 2: he went no, no, and he said, and we've never
[1:14:06] Speaker 2: discussed this. And he said, hey, Robie, what do you
[1:14:08] Speaker 2: think about the whole Sasquatch thing? And I said, oh, yeah,
[1:14:12] Speaker 2: I said, I think there's something there. And he went
[1:14:13] Speaker 2: me to me too, and he said, what do you
[1:14:18] Speaker 2: think about, you know, the River valley, the mountains and
[1:14:21] Speaker 2: the trails and stuff. And I said, well, you know,
[1:14:24] Speaker 2: I'm always up there hiking. And he said it's a
[1:14:27] Speaker 2: weird area, isn't it? And I said it supposedly it is.
[1:14:35] Speaker 4: You're familiar with the missing for one one, David olidis, yes, absolutely, yeah.
[1:14:45] Speaker 4: So there are two or three cases in his book
[1:14:49] Speaker 4: that have happened up in this area. So I was
[1:14:53] Speaker 4: telling my co worker this and then he said, did
[1:14:57] Speaker 4: I ever tell you what happened when we were camping?
[1:15:01] Speaker 4: And I went no, and he went, I went camping
[1:15:03] Speaker 4: with a buddy and they were camping by a lake
[1:15:08] Speaker 4: and this lake has these designated I guess platforms where
[1:15:14] Speaker 4: you can picture tent and my coworker his tent was
[1:15:18] Speaker 4: on the one that was the furthest away from the lake.
[1:15:22] Speaker 4: Behind it was just the forest and the mountain.
[1:15:27] Speaker 2: And he said, I'll tell your Robbie said, I'll never
[1:15:29] Speaker 2: ever go back to the area again, one hundred percent,
[1:15:32] Speaker 2: not how camping. And I said, oh, what happened? And
[1:15:36] Speaker 2: he said, in the night something was playing with like
[1:15:42] Speaker 2: the zip. The zip called on his tent so he
[1:15:46] Speaker 2: could hear it being toggled with and then sort of
[1:15:50] Speaker 2: pulled down a little bit. And he said, when it
[1:15:54] Speaker 2: first happened, you know, he shot up, he pulled the
[1:15:57] Speaker 2: zipper down, stuck his head out of the tent with
[1:15:59] Speaker 2: a tour There was nothing that It's just a forest.
[1:16:03] Speaker 2: And he said, his buddy platform was I don't know,
[1:16:07] Speaker 2: several meters away. So he said he called out to
[1:16:11] Speaker 2: his body and said like, hey, you know, he's at you,
[1:16:14] Speaker 2: and his body was like no anyway. You know, they
[1:16:17] Speaker 2: forgot about it. He said. About ten minutes later, same
[1:16:21] Speaker 2: thing again, something pulling on the zipper, pulling it down
[1:16:25] Speaker 2: a little bit. I said, what did you do? Then
[1:16:28] Speaker 2: he said, I didn't stick my head out. Robbie said,
[1:16:30] Speaker 2: I was terrified. He said, I got my torch and
[1:16:32] Speaker 2: kind of shone it through the tent and he said,
[1:16:36] Speaker 2: I started yelling at my body. You know, he's at you,
[1:16:38] Speaker 2: and his buddy was yelling back at him, quite annoyed, going,
[1:16:42] Speaker 2: will you stop shouting. I'm trying to sleep, And he
[1:16:45] Speaker 2: said it happened two more times, and he said the
[1:16:48] Speaker 2: last time it happened, he said, I plucked up the
[1:16:50] Speaker 2: courage and got out the tent with a knife and
[1:16:55] Speaker 2: a torch, and he when it's so weird. Robbie went,
[1:16:58] Speaker 2: there was just nothing there. And I said, like, do
[1:17:00] Speaker 2: you think he was a raccoon or something like that?
[1:17:02] Speaker 2: And he went, no, no, And he didn't want to
[1:17:06] Speaker 2: imply sasquatch, but he was pretty spooked about it. And
[1:17:12] Speaker 2: what was interesting about that area? I was telling him
[1:17:16] Speaker 2: I had a patient who does he's not only a
[1:17:20] Speaker 2: keen hiker, but he actually helps make and maintain a
[1:17:25] Speaker 2: lot of the trails. And again we just got talking,
[1:17:31] Speaker 2: and then you know, I started to prompt him on
[1:17:34] Speaker 2: some stuff and I told him about the rocks and
[1:17:37] Speaker 2: then he said, oh, I guess you've heard about all
[1:17:39] Speaker 2: the stories of this region with the sasquatch and stuff.
[1:17:42] Speaker 2: And I said, yeah, I have, and it was really interesting.
[1:17:46] Speaker 2: And he said to me him and his wife were
[1:17:50] Speaker 2: hiking with a couple they know in that region and
[1:17:56] Speaker 2: he said, Rob, we'd heard crazy screams, like terrifying screams
[1:18:05] Speaker 2: that made them turn around and head back. And again
[1:18:08] Speaker 2: I said to him, you know, do you think it
[1:18:10] Speaker 2: was cougar or something like that? And he was like, no, no,
[1:18:13] Speaker 2: and he said, I'm convinced it's one of these things.
[1:18:16] Speaker 2: And the interesting thing about him was, and this is
[1:18:19] Speaker 2: the only time I've ever heard it mentioned by anybody.
[1:18:23] Speaker 2: On a subsequent visit, you know, naturally, I, out of
[1:18:26] Speaker 2: my own interest, I got on the subject with him
[1:18:28] Speaker 2: again and I said to him, you know, we were
[1:18:31] Speaker 2: just chatting about it, and he said, have you ever
[1:18:33] Speaker 2: heard of the little people? And I went and I went,
[1:18:38] Speaker 2: I have. Actually, I said, not a lot. I said,
[1:18:41] Speaker 2: but if you get into this subject, I said, somewhere
[1:18:43] Speaker 2: down the line, you hear about it. He said, he
[1:18:47] Speaker 2: has indigenous friends who have a like a cabin in
[1:18:51] Speaker 2: the mountain somewhere, and he was telling them about my
[1:18:56] Speaker 2: experience with the rocks, and he said to me that
[1:18:59] Speaker 2: they they said to him, tell the physical therapist that
[1:19:03] Speaker 2: that's one hundred percent of first squatch, and tell him
[1:19:06] Speaker 2: to be careful. And I was like, oh, okay. And
[1:19:09] Speaker 2: then they said to him tell him as well to
[1:19:14] Speaker 2: stay away from the little people. And I was like, well,
[1:19:19] Speaker 2: nine hundred percent, I haven't seen any little people. And
[1:19:21] Speaker 2: he said, well, Rob, they said, if you see any
[1:19:24] Speaker 2: small footprints, turn around and go back, don't go any further.
[1:19:30] Speaker 2: And that's all he ever said about it, because he said,
[1:19:32] Speaker 2: that's all they ever said about it. But that was
[1:19:35] Speaker 2: the only time that I've heard that mentioned. But what
[1:19:41] Speaker 2: was interesting that, going back years before that, the female
[1:19:44] Speaker 2: I asked cmp. I remember she said to me, if
[1:19:47] Speaker 2: you're ever out in the forest or you're hiking and
[1:19:50] Speaker 2: you hear your name being called, or you hear a
[1:19:54] Speaker 2: baby crying or anything like that, turn around and go back.
[1:20:00] Speaker 2: And that's all they said. They went, don't don't try
[1:20:03] Speaker 2: and explore it, just turn around and go back immediately
[1:20:06] Speaker 2: to back home again. So they're some fascinating things around
[1:20:12] Speaker 2: for sure, And I just wonder how many people are
[1:20:15] Speaker 2: holding something in and just not telling you, you know,
[1:20:18] Speaker 2: what it's all about.
[1:20:22] Speaker 1: A lot, Rob, I would say, it's a lot. Half
[1:20:26] Speaker 1: the people I talked to end up not going on
[1:20:28] Speaker 1: the show because they're scared to lose their job or
[1:20:32] Speaker 1: what people will say. So it is a lot, my friend,
[1:20:38] Speaker 1: you have experienced some incredible things, and I just want
[1:20:43] Speaker 1: to so the video you sent me. I don't agree
[1:20:47] Speaker 1: with the person I've said that to you, not at all,
[1:20:51] Speaker 1: not a percent. It's just is it okay if I
[1:20:57] Speaker 1: put that video in YouTuber?
[1:21:01] Speaker 2: Oh of course you can. Yeah, yeah. And I mean
[1:21:03] Speaker 2: the one thing I was just going to add about
[1:21:05] Speaker 2: the video that bent over branch and these were bloody
[1:21:10] Speaker 2: thick branches right, and tall trees right. That branch is
[1:21:15] Speaker 2: perfectly sitting in the center of that X. And I
[1:21:19] Speaker 2: had a little look and nearby what you can't see
[1:21:24] Speaker 2: in the video, I'm not sure if you could hear it,
[1:21:27] Speaker 2: there was a very small like you couldn't even call
[1:21:29] Speaker 2: it a creek, but like a runoff from further up
[1:21:31] Speaker 2: the mountain, and that middle branch that the tip of it,
[1:21:36] Speaker 2: so to speak, was wedged under the bank it. You know,
[1:21:43] Speaker 2: it wasn't just lying down on the forest floor. It
[1:21:46] Speaker 2: was wedged underneath the bank of this little creek, and
[1:21:50] Speaker 2: I just thought it looked too distinctive for me anyway,
[1:21:55] Speaker 2: you know, like number one you got that perfect X,
[1:21:58] Speaker 2: and then number two you some how got another. Well,
[1:22:03] Speaker 2: it wasn't even a branch. There was a tree that's
[1:22:06] Speaker 2: been bent right the way over and it's sitting on that.
[1:22:09] Speaker 2: I mean, you know this this lady that told me,
[1:22:13] Speaker 2: she said, look it's snowfall. Okay, I'm no, she's probably
[1:22:18] Speaker 2: seen way more than me, but I still think it
[1:22:21] Speaker 2: looked too and it was so out of the ordinary
[1:22:25] Speaker 2: of everything else around it enoughing, you know, it was strange.
[1:22:28] Speaker 2: You know, I'm I'm with you. I just kind of
[1:22:33] Speaker 2: thought it's there. That's deliberate. I just don't think that's accidental.
[1:22:38] Speaker 2: I don't think it's the wind. I don't think it's
[1:22:40] Speaker 2: the snow.
[1:22:41] Speaker 1: It's absolutely deliberate. I mean I would say there's nothing
[1:22:44] Speaker 1: to do with with snowload for that. That's not snowload
[1:22:48] Speaker 1: one percent in my opinion. Anyways. Also your account of
[1:22:57] Speaker 1: talking to the gentleman, which we're not going to talk
[1:23:03] Speaker 1: about that gentleman, but I get it. But it's an
[1:23:06] Speaker 1: interesting journey you went through in that, which is you know,
[1:23:12] Speaker 1: really you found the in quotation wise old man on
[1:23:16] Speaker 1: the mountain who's allegedly has all the answers. But it
[1:23:21] Speaker 1: almost made you walk away, But you came to the
[1:23:23] Speaker 1: realization that hey, I need to figure this out for
[1:23:28] Speaker 1: myself and I have experienced things, and just because some
[1:23:35] Speaker 1: other guys says it's not accurate, you know, I don't
[1:23:39] Speaker 1: think that should push people away, but unfortunately it does.
[1:23:42] Speaker 1: I mean, your story is not the first one that
[1:23:44] Speaker 1: I've heard like that, But people need to realize, hey,
[1:23:47] Speaker 1: they're they're experiencing something out there and they need to
[1:23:51] Speaker 1: figure it out for themselves and not relay, not rely
[1:23:55] Speaker 1: on the people that say they're experts, because there's no
[1:23:57] Speaker 1: experts in this field. That's what it comes down to.
[1:24:02] Speaker 2: Well, and that was a thing that annoyed me about
[1:24:05] Speaker 2: this individual on the phone. He was talking like an expert,
[1:24:12] Speaker 2: but then he was saying there are no experts, and
[1:24:15] Speaker 2: I wanted to go, well, you've written I think it's
[1:24:17] Speaker 2: three books on it, and I've seen you on different
[1:24:20] Speaker 2: YouTube documentaries and you talk about you're an expert, and
[1:24:25] Speaker 2: you rubbish anything else that doesn't follow your paradigm, so
[1:24:31] Speaker 2: to speak. And then he was almost whatever I said
[1:24:36] Speaker 2: I almost got to the point in the phone conversation
[1:24:38] Speaker 2: where I just felt like coming out with things like, oh,
[1:24:41] Speaker 2: what about whatnox, what about rock clerks, what about growing likes?
[1:24:45] Speaker 2: What about this? Everything was like, no, no, no, there's
[1:24:49] Speaker 2: no evidence. There's no evidence. There's no evidence, and the
[1:24:52] Speaker 2: things that done it for me. I just flat out
[1:24:55] Speaker 2: said to him, can I ask you believe in this?
[1:24:57] Speaker 2: And he hesitated, It wasn't like and then I just
[1:25:05] Speaker 2: you know, in the end, I was almost just playing
[1:25:07] Speaker 2: with him, you know, just because I thought what a
[1:25:10] Speaker 2: pointless time it was for me to do it. And
[1:25:16] Speaker 2: then I think the thing that got me and I
[1:25:18] Speaker 2: argued with this hi he said, I firmly believe the
[1:25:21] Speaker 2: majority of them are a case of misidentification, and it's
[1:25:26] Speaker 2: a bear. And I said, you think it's a bear
[1:25:30] Speaker 2: walking around on two legs? And he went yeah, And
[1:25:33] Speaker 2: I went, have have you ever seen a bear walk
[1:25:36] Speaker 2: on two legs? I went, they walk like a toddler
[1:25:40] Speaker 2: in a diaper that they've just had, you know, but
[1:25:43] Speaker 2: they just filled. I went, there's nothing graceful about bears
[1:25:46] Speaker 2: when they walk the two legs. And you know, thinking
[1:25:50] Speaker 2: back to the thing that this irishman said, to me
[1:25:52] Speaker 2: about this thing that went up the mountain side. He said,
[1:25:54] Speaker 2: he went a bit like an athlete, you know, on
[1:25:57] Speaker 2: two legs. There's don't go up the mountain on two legs.
[1:26:00] Speaker 2: So I argued with them and I said, that was
[1:26:02] Speaker 2: the one thing I said, I completely disagree. I said,
[1:26:05] Speaker 2: people know what a bear looks like. And I said,
[1:26:07] Speaker 2: if you look at the build of a bear on
[1:26:09] Speaker 2: two legs, they have really narrow shoulders, they kind of
[1:26:13] Speaker 2: widen out at the hips. They have broad pelvis, you know,
[1:26:16] Speaker 2: but their shoulders are narrow, and they have distinctive ears.
[1:26:20] Speaker 2: And I said, in most cases these things don't, and
[1:26:22] Speaker 2: they have massive shoulders, you know, like like plane hanger shoulders.
[1:26:28] Speaker 2: So I, yeah, I did go off it for a while,
[1:26:31] Speaker 2: but then I came back round, you know, to it again.
[1:26:34] Speaker 2: And I stay very open minded. And I just convinced
[1:26:40] Speaker 2: just from particularly the people I've spoken to, you know,
[1:26:44] Speaker 2: just when you when you see it in their eyes,
[1:26:47] Speaker 2: you see it in their manner, You're like, yeah, there's
[1:26:50] Speaker 2: no other explanation for it, no other explanation at all.
[1:26:57] Speaker 1: Rob, what a fascinating conversation. In my goodness, I really
[1:27:03] Speaker 1: didn't know a lot about what we were going to
[1:27:06] Speaker 1: be talking about. And I mean, you have really really
[1:27:10] Speaker 1: been able to talk to a lot of people in
[1:27:12] Speaker 1: this area. I hope that continues for you. It sounds
[1:27:14] Speaker 1: like people are starting to I don't know, they're just
[1:27:16] Speaker 1: kind of drawn to you for some reason, which is
[1:27:19] Speaker 1: really interesting to share their account. But is this something
[1:27:26] Speaker 1: where you hope to experience something again in the future
[1:27:31] Speaker 1: or how do you feel regarding that.
[1:27:37] Speaker 2: I'd love to get a visual just to see it
[1:27:41] Speaker 2: for myself, Yeah, and just in my mind to confirm
[1:27:47] Speaker 2: what's the rocket day? How we just love that? You know,
[1:27:53] Speaker 2: I know I can't prove it, but I'm so convinced
[1:27:55] Speaker 2: it wasn't a person. And then the only other thing that, potentially,
[1:28:00] Speaker 2: depending on your views of it, that could do it
[1:28:02] Speaker 2: is one of these things. So I would love just
[1:28:04] Speaker 2: to get enough of a visual, whether it's you know,
[1:28:10] Speaker 2: I'm driving in a car and one crosses a road
[1:28:12] Speaker 2: or head or whether I'm you know, like I do,
[1:28:15] Speaker 2: sitting on a rock with monoculars just just looking for
[1:28:18] Speaker 2: wildlife see one. I would so love to just to
[1:28:22] Speaker 2: just get that little glimpse, even if it's just a
[1:28:24] Speaker 2: second or two, where I can just go right that's it. Yeah,
[1:28:27] Speaker 2: I'm good with that, you know, I can, you know,
[1:28:31] Speaker 2: happily just be very content knowing I'm not ninety percent
[1:28:38] Speaker 2: now and one hundred percent convinced that you know there's
[1:28:42] Speaker 2: something there. Yeah, I would. I would love to love
[1:28:45] Speaker 2: to see one. I really would. I when I hear
[1:28:47] Speaker 2: people like this irishman, I listen to his account, He's
[1:28:50] Speaker 2: the one I always remember and I'm LIKELD, that must
[1:28:52] Speaker 2: have just been amazing but probably terrifying as well. But
[1:28:58] Speaker 2: you know, I absolutely would love to see Will. Yeah,
[1:29:01] Speaker 2: but I just don't think ever Will. I don't think
[1:29:03] Speaker 2: iver Will.
[1:29:07] Speaker 1: I'm right there with you. I'm hoping that, you know,
[1:29:10] Speaker 1: hopefully twenty twenty six is the year that I'm able
[1:29:13] Speaker 1: to get a visual as visual as well. But man, Rob,
[1:29:17] Speaker 1: I was just looking and reminding myself. You first reached
[1:29:22] Speaker 1: out in November of twenty twenty four, and I am
[1:29:24] Speaker 1: just so thankful that we're actually able to have this conversation.
[1:29:28] Speaker 1: Sometimes it takes a while to have them, but so
[1:29:32] Speaker 1: thankful that you were able to come on. And you
[1:29:35] Speaker 1: had also said that if people want to reach out
[1:29:39] Speaker 1: to you to talk about bigfoot in this area, they're
[1:29:43] Speaker 1: able to do.
[1:29:44] Speaker 2: So right, Yeah, yeah, I'm mold and happy. Yeah, I'm
[1:29:50] Speaker 2: old and happy.
[1:29:50] Speaker 1: Too, fantastic. I am going to put that contact info
[1:29:55] Speaker 1: then in the description for this episode, so people can
[1:30:03] Speaker 1: reach out if they would like to talk to Rob
[1:30:08] Speaker 1: about any encounters they've had in the area. And of
[1:30:11] Speaker 1: course people are always more than welcome to reach out
[1:30:15] Speaker 1: to myself if they have things to report, bigfoot sightings
[1:30:19] Speaker 1: or encounters in their area to report, they can reach
[1:30:22] Speaker 1: out to me as Bigfoot Society gmail dot com. But Rob,
[1:30:25] Speaker 1: thank you so much for coming on the show, and
[1:30:29] Speaker 1: I'm sure that you'll continue to run into encounters just
[1:30:34] Speaker 1: living in this area, and we'll definitely have to keep
[1:30:37] Speaker 1: in touch.
[1:30:40] Speaker 2: Yeah. Absolutely, It's like I said, I mean, I didn't
[1:30:45] Speaker 2: have a visual, but I think I have something that
[1:30:50] Speaker 2: strongly suggests we were close to one of these things.
[1:30:52] Speaker 2: So yeah, I appreciate you, you know, seeing it was
[1:30:59] Speaker 2: a for me just to come on and talk to
[1:31:01] Speaker 2: you about it.
[1:31:02] Speaker 1: Have you ever heard all the accounts of bigfoot activity
[1:31:05] Speaker 1: around Oakridge, Oregon and you think to yourself, man, I
[1:31:09] Speaker 1: would love to get out in those woods and experience
[1:31:11] Speaker 1: it for myself. Well guess what this year? You can
[1:31:17] Speaker 1: if this is interesting to you. Stay tuned because it's
[1:31:20] Speaker 1: pretty cool. Sasquatch Summer Fest is coming up July tenth
[1:31:25] Speaker 1: through the eleventh, twenty twenty six. It's going to be
[1:31:28] Speaker 1: even better than the previous year's reason number one, I'll
[1:31:32] Speaker 1: be one of the speakers. It's going to be wild.
[1:31:35] Speaker 1: I'll probably I'll say this. There may be stuff you
[1:31:40] Speaker 1: haven't heard anywhere else, because let's just say sometimes it's well,
[1:31:47] Speaker 1: you just got to be there. We'll leave it that
[1:31:49] Speaker 1: more about looking for Bigfoot in the Oakridge Woods. Now
[1:31:52] Speaker 1: check this out. You may know Jason Kenzie from his
[1:31:57] Speaker 1: documentary series Searching for Sasquatch. Well, this year you can
[1:32:02] Speaker 1: not only go to the festival, but you can also
[1:32:06] Speaker 1: sign up for a track deep in the wild forest
[1:32:13] Speaker 1: outside of Oakridge with Jason Kenzie to the Bigfoot spots
[1:32:18] Speaker 1: to look for Bigfoot. There's only eight spots to sign
[1:32:22] Speaker 1: up for this. And yes, this will also be filmed
[1:32:26] Speaker 1: for the next chapter in his documentary series, which is
[1:32:29] Speaker 1: Searching for Sasquatch. This is a once in a lifetime deal.
[1:32:32] Speaker 1: It's just it's going to be a wild, wild experience.
[1:32:36] Speaker 1: To get a ticket, head on over to Sasquatch Summerfest
[1:32:40] Speaker 1: dot com and listeners can use the code b SP
[1:32:46] Speaker 1: like Bigfoot Society Podcast in order to get a two
[1:32:49] Speaker 1: day pass for the price of a one day pass.
[1:32:53] Speaker 1: So thanks to Priscilla for giving me that code so
[1:32:57] Speaker 1: that you guys can can get a little help with
[1:33:04] Speaker 1: the cost there. Appreciate that, Priscilla. I hope to see
[1:33:07] Speaker 1: you at the booth in Oakridge this year. We can
[1:33:12] Speaker 1: talk about your encounter. Was able to talk to so
[1:33:14] Speaker 1: many people last year and the year before. It is
[1:33:18] Speaker 1: an incredible time. You're not going to want to miss it,
[1:33:21] Speaker 1: and I'll see you there. Before we wrap this episode,
[1:33:25] Speaker 1: I want to say something directly to a very specific
[1:33:28] Speaker 1: group of listeners. If you're in the military, any branch
[1:33:32] Speaker 1: or forces, and if you've seen something that no one
[1:33:34] Speaker 1: can explain, or if you're a National Park ranger or
[1:33:38] Speaker 1: forestry worker who's been told to stay quiet, or if
[1:33:41] Speaker 1: you're a pilot who's seen something strange down on the ground,
[1:33:45] Speaker 1: or if you're with the FBI a federal agency, or
[1:33:48] Speaker 1: working intelligence and you stumbled upon something you're not allowed
[1:33:51] Speaker 1: to talk about. And if you're a firefighter, paramedic, or
[1:33:55] Speaker 1: search and rescue responder who's heard screams or found tracks
[1:33:58] Speaker 1: that didn't make sense. If you're in the logging industry
[1:34:02] Speaker 1: on a remote oil field, or a trucker with government
[1:34:05] Speaker 1: contracts and you've had something happen that you've never told
[1:34:09] Speaker 1: a soul. And if you're a biologist, a wildlife specialist,
