During a solo elk hunt in the mountains of Eastern Oregon, Mark Parker began hearing the same unfamiliar grunting sound at approximately 9:30 every morning. Days later, a brown face appeared from behind a tree and watched him from only 35 to 40 yards away. That encounter led Mark into years of investigation with Darrell Adams near Cottage Grove and the mysterious Owl Moon Lab. He describes enormous tracks, rocks thrown from the timber, food disappearing between trail-camera photographs, unexplained lights, and a massive figure crossing a forest trail after dark. Mark also shares the deeply unsettling experience that occurred when he returned to Eastern Oregon, slept beneath the open sky, and asked whatever was nearby to give him a sign. ## Transcript

[0:00] Speaker 1: I just saw the brown face and I thought, oh,
[0:02] Speaker 1: it's another hunter. He's just got his face painted up.
[0:05] Speaker 1: I'm like, no, that ain't right.
[0:06] Speaker 2: Mark Parker was bow hunting alone in the mountains between
[0:09] Speaker 2: Austin Junction and Baker, Oregon. For days, an unfamiliar grunt
[0:14] Speaker 2: sounded behind him at 930 each morning. Then a brown
[0:17] Speaker 2: face appeared around a tree and Mark had to determine
[0:19] Speaker 2: exactly what he was seeing. I'm Jeremiah Byron and this
[0:23] Speaker 2: is Bigfoot Society. What got you into Bigfoot out there
[0:27] Speaker 2: in Oregon when you're out there on the West Coast?
[0:30] Speaker 1: So I was, uh, actually elk hunting by myself. I
[0:35] Speaker 1: went over to Eastern Oregon. I was going to be
[0:37] Speaker 1: out there for I think 14 days and a buddy
[0:41] Speaker 1: of mine was going to meet me there for just
[0:44] Speaker 1: a couple. He was going to meet me there, um,
[0:46] Speaker 1: labor day weekend, but the rest of the time was
[0:48] Speaker 1: going to be by myself. And I had some stuff
[0:51] Speaker 1: that happened to me there. Um, that's what sent me
[0:55] Speaker 1: down the rabbit hole. Uh, what had happened was, um,
[1:00] Speaker 1: you know as a hunter you always hunt with the
[1:04] Speaker 1: wind in your face and I was bow hunting so
[1:07] Speaker 1: in the mornings I'd be at the top of the
[1:08] Speaker 1: mountain and in the evenings would be down in the
[1:11] Speaker 1: bottoms and every morning like clockwork I always keep my
[1:16] Speaker 1: phone you know within reach just because I like if
[1:22] Speaker 1: the animals are coming through, I'd like to know what
[1:24] Speaker 1: time they're coming through and to pattern them. And just
[1:27] Speaker 1: in case I got to move to a different area
[1:29] Speaker 1: to be able to, to get where they're, you know,
[1:32] Speaker 1: to get my opportunity out of them. So, but every morning,
[1:35] Speaker 1: like clockwork nine 30 back behind me, I'd hear this
[1:39] Speaker 1: weird grunting sound that I've never heard before in my life.
[1:43] Speaker 1: And I just, whatever, never thought anything about it. So, um,
[1:51] Speaker 1: Didn't think anything of it. Kept hunting in the bottoms
[1:54] Speaker 1: in the evening. Well, Wednesday evening, I was sitting down
[1:59] Speaker 1: in the bottom over a wallow hole with a bunch
[2:02] Speaker 1: of elk rubs and stuff. And that particular area is
[2:06] Speaker 1: notorious for bears coming in. And so I had a
[2:10] Speaker 1: bear tag too. And I just thought, well, I'll take
[2:11] Speaker 1: the opportunity to maybe see if a bear comes in
[2:14] Speaker 1: on me that night. So it's getting close to dark.
[2:18] Speaker 1: Wind's in my face. I'm back behind me. I hear a, a, um,
[2:23] Speaker 1: quick go and I'm like, Oh no, I'm going to
[2:26] Speaker 1: get busted because the wind is just coming right off
[2:29] Speaker 1: of me, going back behind me. And I hear something
[2:31] Speaker 1: walk up right behind me and thought, why is this
[2:37] Speaker 1: thing not running? You know, an elk, a deer, a bear,
[2:40] Speaker 1: anything should be running. And it's a thinned out reprod patch.
[2:45] Speaker 1: So all the brush is just literally laying on the
[2:48] Speaker 1: ground and it's all dried up. And so you, you
[2:51] Speaker 1: cannot be quiet in these woods. I mean, a squirrel
[2:54] Speaker 1: sounds like a herd of elephants coming through. Well, it
[2:57] Speaker 1: gets back behind me and it stops and it stands there.
[3:02] Speaker 1: I'm not sure how long, it wasn't super long. And
[3:04] Speaker 1: then it goes off to my left and there's a
[3:07] Speaker 1: trail that comes out my left-hand side and right-hand side,
[3:11] Speaker 1: both that go to that wallop. So I put my
[3:14] Speaker 1: release on my string and I lean out from behind
[3:17] Speaker 1: this tree, getting ready to draw. waiting for whatever animal
[3:21] Speaker 1: it is to step out. And it stops right before
[3:25] Speaker 1: it gets to the opening. So I'm just kind of waiting, waiting, waiting.
[3:29] Speaker 1: And then it turns around, walks back behind me again,
[3:32] Speaker 1: goes off to my right. Same thing. I spin around, wait, wait, wait, wait, nothing, nothing, nothing.
[3:39] Speaker 1: And it does this thing probably four or five times,
[3:42] Speaker 1: just back and forth over, I don't know, 15 minutes.
[3:48] Speaker 1: And finally gets back behind me and I just hear
[3:50] Speaker 1: this boom, boom, boom, real loud tree knock. And I
[3:54] Speaker 1: thought to myself, what the heck is that? It didn't
[3:57] Speaker 1: dawn on me. It was a tree knock at the time.
[4:00] Speaker 1: And I'm like, it was getting dark, getting close to dark.
[4:04] Speaker 1: And I'm like, all right, I'm out. So I threw
[4:07] Speaker 1: a backpack on, headed back, went to camp, did a
[4:10] Speaker 1: thingy thing of it. Um, my buddy showed up Friday
[4:14] Speaker 1: late night and I was talking to him saying, Hey,
[4:16] Speaker 1: I got into the elk over here, over there. Um,
[4:21] Speaker 1: you know, they were coming in here in the morning,
[4:23] Speaker 1: coming in here in the evening. And then I told him,
[4:25] Speaker 1: I said, man, I had this weirdest thing ever. I
[4:27] Speaker 1: had a tree knocked behind me. He's like, dude, that's Bigfoot.
[4:31] Speaker 1: And it was like, then it finally clicked, you know,
[4:33] Speaker 1: because I've always believed. But at that point it was
[4:36] Speaker 1: like one of those until I see it, I'm not
[4:39] Speaker 1: going to a hundred percent say it's there, but, you know,
[4:43] Speaker 1: there's too many, you hear of too many sightings and,
[4:46] Speaker 1: you know, go so back far back in history and stuff. So,
[4:51] Speaker 1: you know, you never know. Uh, you know, I grew
[4:54] Speaker 1: up in a house with a lot of paranormal activity
[4:58] Speaker 1: and the house that I, when I was a kid
[5:00] Speaker 1: was that way, the house I was living at, at
[5:03] Speaker 1: that particular time, me and my daughter would have all
[5:06] Speaker 1: kinds of stuff. We would see, um, shadow people walk
[5:11] Speaker 1: by us all the time going from one bedroom to
[5:13] Speaker 1: the other and then I got slapped in the house
[5:17] Speaker 1: one time and stuff like that so for me anything
[5:19] Speaker 1: is possible anything is possible.
[5:22] Speaker 2: What year was that would you.
[5:23] Speaker 1: Say 19 2019 2019 okay.
[5:28] Speaker 2: Cool and I know a lot of hunters we're keeping
[5:35] Speaker 2: our usually we're keeping our hunting spots kind of kind
[5:40] Speaker 2: of vague we're keeping it to eastern oregon.
[5:42] Speaker 1: Correct yeah well i i mean i i don't hunt
[5:45] Speaker 1: out there anymore so i can kind of give you
[5:47] Speaker 1: an idea it's uh just out of austin junction between
[5:52] Speaker 1: austin junction and baker um but closer to the it's
[5:55] Speaker 1: out of um anybody that goes over there austin junction
[5:59] Speaker 1: there's austin house the road i turn off of is
[6:02] Speaker 1: basically straight across from greenhorn it's about 10 miles up
[6:06] Speaker 1: the road and then you cut in uh back in
[6:09] Speaker 1: there It's Courtney Creek, I believe. I believe it's Courtney
[6:14] Speaker 1: Creek road back in there. But that's not the only
[6:17] Speaker 1: thing that happened in there. I had my first sighting
[6:21] Speaker 1: a couple days later after that tree knock, too.
[6:26] Speaker 2: Interesting. I was wondering, because that's like southeast of Ukiah,
[6:32] Speaker 2: and I've gotten a few things from Ukiah over the
[6:34] Speaker 2: years to do with elk guys. So that's, that's very interesting. Um, okay.
[6:41] Speaker 2: So you're saying, uh, actually, are you, are you, um, man,
[6:47] Speaker 2: whenever paranormal stuff comes up, do you mind if I, uh,
[6:50] Speaker 2: I do a little prayer real quick. Are you comfortable
[6:51] Speaker 2: with that?
[6:53] Speaker 1: Yeah, no, that's fine.
[6:54] Speaker 2: All right, cool. Dear God, thank you for this conversation.
[6:57] Speaker 2: Help us to be safe during it, uh, bind any, um, uh,
[7:03] Speaker 2: any demonic activity and, uh, find the devil during this
[7:06] Speaker 2: conversation and in the lives of those who hear it. Uh, and, uh,
[7:11] Speaker 2: the name of Jesus.
[7:12] Speaker 1: Amen.
[7:12] Speaker 2: All right. Thank you. So I've been taking that extremely
[7:17] Speaker 2: serious as you'll, you'll start to hear in the show. Um,
[7:21] Speaker 2: so you're saying that this area over by Baker, you
[7:26] Speaker 2: also had other things happen besides you're hearing this weird
[7:30] Speaker 2: thing in the woods. That's very interesting.
[7:32] Speaker 1: Yeah. I, uh, Again, every morning I kept hearing the
[7:36] Speaker 1: same thing. And then I told my buddy Tom that
[7:39] Speaker 1: Saturday night, I said, I'm going back in where I'm
[7:42] Speaker 1: hearing that sound tomorrow morning. I'm going to get sat
[7:46] Speaker 1: down in there at least an hour before light. And
[7:50] Speaker 1: that's my typical anyway. I try to get in first
[7:53] Speaker 1: thing in the morning about an hour before light. That
[7:54] Speaker 1: way any noise I make going in has kind of
[7:57] Speaker 1: gone away and the animals will settle down and then
[8:01] Speaker 1: start moving. So I got back in there. got set
[8:04] Speaker 1: up behind a log, had a bunch of trails out
[8:07] Speaker 1: in front of me in a small, small meadow. So
[8:11] Speaker 1: it gets light and it's just dead quiet in there,
[8:16] Speaker 1: not hearing anything. And then off to my left, I
[8:20] Speaker 1: catch a little bit of motion. So I just kind
[8:23] Speaker 1: of turn my head real slow and turn my eyes
[8:26] Speaker 1: and I'm looking and I catch something just kind of
[8:29] Speaker 1: flash out and go right back in. And I thought,
[8:32] Speaker 1: that's kind of weird. What the heck, you know? And
[8:34] Speaker 1: then it flashed out again and came back and I caught,
[8:37] Speaker 1: caught it that time. And it was, I just saw
[8:40] Speaker 1: the Brown face and I thought, ah, it's another hunter.
[8:43] Speaker 1: He's just got his face painted up. I'm like, no,
[8:46] Speaker 1: that ain't right. Because I would have heard him come in.
[8:49] Speaker 1: Cause all the, the blow down and stuff and all
[8:52] Speaker 1: from them thinning and stuff, I would have heard them
[8:54] Speaker 1: come in and I never heard one sound coming in.
[8:58] Speaker 1: So I just kept looking and then it stuck its
[9:01] Speaker 1: head out. And I can see from like its head
[9:04] Speaker 1: and shoulder kind of like this looking from around the tree.
[9:08] Speaker 1: And it sat there for probably 10, 15 seconds looking
[9:11] Speaker 1: at me. And I'm staring at it going, what? I just,
[9:15] Speaker 1: it didn't register. I'm just looking at it like, what
[9:17] Speaker 1: was that? It didn't register right away. And like I said,
[9:22] Speaker 1: it was probably 15 seconds or so. And it pulled
[9:25] Speaker 1: its head back. I never heard it walk off. Nothing.
[9:29] Speaker 1: So I got up. probably after about five minutes or
[9:33] Speaker 1: so headed up over the hill, hit the bottom, hit
[9:36] Speaker 1: the Creek line, got all the way back to camp,
[9:39] Speaker 1: packed up all my crap, had it in the truck,
[9:42] Speaker 1: got in the truck and was sitting there. And then
[9:45] Speaker 1: Tom comes out after a while and he's like, why
[9:47] Speaker 1: are y'all packed up? I'm like, I'm done. I'm just,
[9:51] Speaker 1: I'm ready to go home. I didn't tell him. I
[9:53] Speaker 1: didn't tell anybody right away what happened. And I didn't
[9:56] Speaker 1: even notice at the time, but once the, uh, adrenaline
[10:01] Speaker 1: crashed or, you know, wore off and I crashed, I
[10:05] Speaker 1: peed my pants and I didn't even know it when I,
[10:07] Speaker 1: you know, until after the fact. And anyway, Tom was saying, well,
[10:12] Speaker 1: why are you leaving? You still got like a week.
[10:14] Speaker 1: I'm like, no, I'm done. I need to go home,
[10:17] Speaker 1: see the family. all that stuff. I said, I'm just,
[10:20] Speaker 1: I'm burnout, you know, just kind of playing it off.
[10:22] Speaker 1: And I was just way too tired to try and
[10:25] Speaker 1: drive home Sunday afternoon. So I just slept and slept
[10:32] Speaker 1: there that last night and headed out. I woke up,
[10:35] Speaker 1: I don't know what time it was in the morning,
[10:37] Speaker 1: really early and drove home.
[10:41] Speaker 2: Oh, that's wild. How high up on the tree was the,
[10:46] Speaker 2: When you saw the face like peeking out around the tree.
[10:50] Speaker 1: I would guess if he was standing there, standing up,
[10:56] Speaker 1: he was maybe seven-ish foot tall. He wasn't like super massive.
[11:01] Speaker 1: But again, I don't know how far he was leaning,
[11:04] Speaker 1: you know, if he was squatted or anything like that.
[11:07] Speaker 1: But from just kind of what I saw, I would
[11:10] Speaker 1: guess if he stood up, he'd probably been about, you know,
[11:13] Speaker 1: seven-ish foot tall. Okay.
[11:16] Speaker 2: And how far away from you distance wise was this again?
[11:21] Speaker 1: Maybe 35, 40 yards. Oh man.
[11:25] Speaker 2: Wow. So like just over a, well, tennis court is
[11:30] Speaker 2: like 25 yards.
[11:31] Speaker 1: Yeah. So, okay. Yeah.
[11:33] Speaker 2: That's not, that's not too far, man. So it, it
[11:37] Speaker 2: affected you so, and, and that really plays and, into
[11:42] Speaker 2: things you hear and things I've experienced with adrenaline as well.
[11:45] Speaker 2: I mean, it just, it just wiped you out and
[11:48] Speaker 2: you just slept. Um, did anything weird happen during, um,
[11:53] Speaker 2: the time that you had that sleeping and you're just like,
[11:56] Speaker 2: you're just wiped out and you've been driving.
[12:00] Speaker 1: Yeah. I was crashed out. I slept hard, really hard
[12:04] Speaker 1: that night.
[12:10] Speaker 2: So you're able to see it for a little bit.
[12:11] Speaker 2: Were you able to see any facial features or emotions
[12:17] Speaker 2: or anything like that?
[12:18] Speaker 1: So I didn't get a lot of details because I
[12:21] Speaker 1: just wasn't. I wasn't focused on that. I was just
[12:25] Speaker 1: focused on what in the heck is that, you know,
[12:28] Speaker 1: kind of apish looking, thin lips, nose like ours, but
[12:33] Speaker 1: bigger and, you know, flat and wide and the conical head.
[12:39] Speaker 1: And then like his hairline, it came and it was
[12:41] Speaker 1: just kind of cleared his eyes, come down, cleared around
[12:44] Speaker 1: his mouth and, you know, the rest of it hair.
[12:47] Speaker 1: I couldn't tell you how long he was a chocolate
[12:51] Speaker 1: brown hair. fur and chocolate brownish skin. I'd say the
[12:57] Speaker 1: skin was probably just a little bit darker than his hair, but, and,
[13:01] Speaker 1: you know, I could see that his eyes were like
[13:04] Speaker 1: dark with white, but I couldn't tell you like if
[13:06] Speaker 1: they're brown, you know, I couldn't tell you any of that.
[13:09] Speaker 1: Couldn't tell you if he had ears, never. I don't
[13:12] Speaker 1: know what his teeth looked like. I don't know any
[13:14] Speaker 1: of that. I just, like I said, I wasn't focused
[13:17] Speaker 1: on any of that.
[13:18] Speaker 2: But yeah, it makes total sense. So you're saying you
[13:21] Speaker 2: could see whites around the dark part of the island.
[13:25] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[13:25] Speaker 2: Okay. What was the trip like back home for you?
[13:29] Speaker 1: I was by myself. So it was just quiet all
[13:32] Speaker 1: the way home.
[13:33] Speaker 2: Just quiet the whole, the whole way kind of lost
[13:35] Speaker 2: in your thoughts about it or.
[13:37] Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. Okay.
[13:40] Speaker 2: That's wild. Um, how long was it until you shared
[13:44] Speaker 2: with someone what had happened?
[13:48] Speaker 1: Um, I told my buddy Tom, who was there with me. Oh,
[13:51] Speaker 1: it was maybe a week later. And then same with
[13:56] Speaker 1: my ex-wife. I'd let her know around the same time.
[13:59] Speaker 1: And Tom, he's like, man, you should have told me
[14:02] Speaker 1: we would have went back in there and look for
[14:04] Speaker 1: tracks and stuff. And I'm like, no, we wouldn't have.
[14:07] Speaker 1: Maybe you, I wasn't going back in there at the time.
[14:10] Speaker 1: There was no, no way.
[14:12] Speaker 2: Yeah, man, it's, uh, Talking to, I figured it out
[14:19] Speaker 2: the other day, talking to over a thousand people, it
[14:23] Speaker 2: affects people in different ways. And so my question then
[14:29] Speaker 2: that I had was your buddy that you had left there,
[14:34] Speaker 2: did he have anything happen?
[14:37] Speaker 1: No, no, he ended up leaving the same time I did.
[14:41] Speaker 1: When I got out and started the truck, I was
[14:43] Speaker 1: driving a diesel, so it's loud, you know. So he
[14:46] Speaker 1: woke up too and we both headed out the same time.
[14:51] Speaker 1: He had to head back anyway because he had to
[14:53] Speaker 1: go back to work. Okay.
[14:58] Speaker 2: So having an experience like that can really affect individuals
[15:04] Speaker 2: in a number of different ways. How were you affected
[15:10] Speaker 2: after that? Were you a person... who, um, really got
[15:14] Speaker 2: into the subject or you're like, I just, I can't
[15:17] Speaker 2: handle this. I need time away from anything to do
[15:20] Speaker 2: with Bigfoot or was it a completely different path for you?
[15:25] Speaker 1: Um, at first I just, I didn't know what to do.
[15:28] Speaker 1: I didn't know who to talk to, you know, I'm
[15:31] Speaker 1: not going to go to a shrink and say, Hey,
[15:33] Speaker 1: I saw Bigfoot and, you know, listen to them. Um,
[15:38] Speaker 1: so it ended up what I did. I, uh, My
[15:43] Speaker 1: buddy is a tattoo artist. So I went in and
[15:45] Speaker 1: he did a tattoo of the outline of the state
[15:48] Speaker 1: of Oregon with a Bigfoot stepping out from behind a
[15:52] Speaker 1: tree and a star where exactly it had happened. And
[15:58] Speaker 1: then at that time I was still on social media.
[16:01] Speaker 1: So I had posted it on a Oregon Bigfoot page.
[16:06] Speaker 1: And this was, I don't know, maybe two weeks afterwards
[16:11] Speaker 1: after I'd kind of calmed down about it a little bit.
[16:15] Speaker 1: And then I had somebody, a retired police officer that
[16:21] Speaker 1: from Eugene that had moved out to Eastern Oregon. And
[16:26] Speaker 1: he was doing a bunch of research out there and
[16:30] Speaker 1: was asking me a few questions over messenger. And then
[16:33] Speaker 1: he wanted to talk to me, you know, on the phone.
[16:36] Speaker 1: So I talked to him.
[16:40] Speaker 2: Why was it important to make a tattoo of that
[16:43] Speaker 2: experience for you?
[16:43] Speaker 1: I don't know if it was just ink therapy or what,
[16:52] Speaker 1: you know? It was just kind of one of those,
[16:57] Speaker 1: like now I have several Bigfoot tattoos and people ask
[17:01] Speaker 1: me about them. And by the way they ask me
[17:05] Speaker 1: is if I'll tell them or not, because if they,
[17:07] Speaker 1: you know, oh, he's a fan. I'm not going to
[17:10] Speaker 1: waste my time telling somebody. But if, oh, yeah, I
[17:13] Speaker 1: believe in him or, you know, I've had some encounters,
[17:16] Speaker 1: I'll tell him my story. But I don't know. Maybe
[17:19] Speaker 1: it was just a way for me to cope with it.
[17:21] Speaker 1: I'm not sure. Sure.
[17:25] Speaker 2: The individual you're talking to, the retired police officer that
[17:28] Speaker 2: is now a researcher out in eastern Oregon, was he
[17:33] Speaker 2: surprised when you had shared words where the experience had
[17:37] Speaker 2: happened or was it a thing where you're like, Oh yeah,
[17:39] Speaker 2: I've seen other stuff happen out there, seen other reports,
[17:43] Speaker 2: things like that.
[17:44] Speaker 1: Yeah. He had told me, you know, he asked me
[17:47] Speaker 1: about the details and stuff like that. And I told
[17:50] Speaker 1: him essentially what I told you, the color and stuff
[17:52] Speaker 1: like that and what had happened. He said that that
[17:55] Speaker 1: was pretty stereotypical what happens out there. And he's had
[18:00] Speaker 1: some of the same experiences, him and his team out there.
[18:05] Speaker 1: They would go out there a few times a year
[18:08] Speaker 1: and they would have like a big camp and then
[18:10] Speaker 1: they would, you know, do their thing from there, you know,
[18:14] Speaker 1: go looking and stuff like that.
[18:16] Speaker 2: That's interesting. So I'm also very curious then, how did
[18:27] Speaker 2: you get linked up or how did you get connected
[18:30] Speaker 2: to Daryl Adams and the, I've never been there, but man,
[18:37] Speaker 2: the people I have interviewed over the years, not just
[18:40] Speaker 2: Daryl Adams, but other guys from other time periods that
[18:44] Speaker 2: have seen not just Bigfoot, but things that look like
[18:47] Speaker 2: aliens in Cottage Grove. Dude, it's wild out there.
[18:50] Speaker 1: Yeah. So I actually, I got hooked up through Daryl
[18:54] Speaker 1: from that guy, Mike, that I was talking to, the
[18:56] Speaker 1: retired police officer. He asked me, he says, so do
[19:00] Speaker 1: you want to learn more? And I'm like, yeah, absolutely.
[19:04] Speaker 1: And he goes, I'll hook you up with this, hook
[19:08] Speaker 1: you up with somebody and talk to him and go
[19:12] Speaker 1: from there. Then he told me a couple of books
[19:14] Speaker 1: to read and stuff like that. And so I called
[19:19] Speaker 1: up Daryl and, you know, told him who I was
[19:22] Speaker 1: and what had happened to me and stuff and told him,
[19:25] Speaker 1: you know, that Mike had gave me his number and
[19:29] Speaker 1: and uh i was ready to go down that rabbit
[19:33] Speaker 1: hole and boy was it a hole um goodness so
[19:39] Speaker 1: the first time i met daryl you know i met
[19:41] Speaker 1: him at his house and we headed up to his
[19:43] Speaker 1: area and i was talking with him and stuff and
[19:46] Speaker 1: i told him you know i was convinced it was
[19:50] Speaker 1: an animal 100% it's an animal and I told him
[19:55] Speaker 1: I said these people are just absolutely crazy and that's
[20:01] Speaker 1: what I thought and boy my mind got changed down
[20:05] Speaker 1: in the.
[20:05] Speaker 2: Al Moon lab I was going to say, I wanted
[20:08] Speaker 2: to make the connection, but you just made it. So
[20:10] Speaker 2: you're meeting Daryl at his owl moon lab house, right?
[20:14] Speaker 1: Not at his owl moon house. When he moved away
[20:17] Speaker 1: from there, he was in cottage Grove and I met
[20:20] Speaker 1: him there. So we were going to the lab up,
[20:24] Speaker 1: you know, up through the top area.
[20:27] Speaker 2: Okay, perfect. Thank you. So, so wow. Was it, what
[20:32] Speaker 2: were the first things that started to happen? Was it,
[20:35] Speaker 2: you had to go to owl moon lab and then
[20:38] Speaker 2: you had weird stuff happen or.
[20:39] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[20:40] Speaker 2: Or was it? Yeah.
[20:41] Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay. So the first time we got there, um,
[20:45] Speaker 1: he was kind of taking me all over and apparently, uh, there,
[20:48] Speaker 1: there's a lot up there that happens. And so we
[20:51] Speaker 1: went down into his, uh, you know, the owl moon
[20:54] Speaker 1: area and we walked down and I'm like freaking out
[20:56] Speaker 1: cause there's tracks everywhere. I'm like, Holy crap. So I
[21:02] Speaker 1: have a ton of pictures of, of tracks, some with toes,
[21:06] Speaker 1: some of them, you can't see the toes. I have
[21:08] Speaker 1: pictures with my hunting boot next to all of them.
[21:11] Speaker 1: My hunting boot is 13 inches from heel to toe.
[21:15] Speaker 1: And then sometimes I have like a dollar bill or
[21:18] Speaker 1: a $ 5 bill, whatever piece of money I have in
[21:21] Speaker 1: my wallet, I'll take pictures of it next to it
[21:23] Speaker 1: for scale. It seems kind of weird to say this,
[21:28] Speaker 1: but after a while you've seen so many tracks in there.
[21:32] Speaker 1: It's just like, it's just another track, whatever. Um, and
[21:35] Speaker 1: I would see tracks. I have pictures of tracks that
[21:38] Speaker 1: are literally the size of my palm all the way
[21:40] Speaker 1: up to, uh, I think my biggest cast is like
[21:44] Speaker 1: 16 and a half inches long and like across here
[21:48] Speaker 1: from the toes, it's like six and a half inches wide. Um,
[21:52] Speaker 1: and then on down from there, 12s and 14s and stuff. Um,
[21:58] Speaker 1: People say, well, people got big feet, but it's not
[22:01] Speaker 1: necessarily the length. It's the width and the depth into
[22:05] Speaker 1: the ground that they are. I'm six foot two at
[22:10] Speaker 1: that time. I was probably 270, 275 pounds. And I
[22:14] Speaker 1: would jump and come down and stomp into the ground
[22:17] Speaker 1: as hard as I could next to the tracks. I
[22:20] Speaker 1: couldn't even make a dent compared to what they were.
[22:23] Speaker 1: I cannot make a dent. That same trip, He took
[22:27] Speaker 1: me to another area where some other guy had been.
[22:32] Speaker 1: I can't remember what they call it. But anyway, they
[22:33] Speaker 1: had he had a gifting log or whatever. And he
[22:36] Speaker 1: put food out for him all the time. And it's
[22:38] Speaker 1: pretty well known. I can't remember what his name was.
[22:42] Speaker 1: I'm really bad. No, it wasn't. It was somebody else.
[22:47] Speaker 1: It was before Tobe was up there.
[22:50] Speaker 2: And I could be.
[22:52] Speaker 1: That we were standing there and. All of a sudden,
[22:56] Speaker 1: a rock comes flying through the air and lands, I
[22:59] Speaker 1: don't know, maybe 10 feet from us. And I turned
[23:02] Speaker 1: and I looked at Daryl, and I'm like, that was
[23:06] Speaker 1: a wreck that got thrown at us. And then all
[23:08] Speaker 1: of a sudden, you could hear out of the timber again,
[23:10] Speaker 1: the t-t-t-t-t. And it comes flying and dropped in front
[23:14] Speaker 1: of us again. And I look at Daryl, and he goes,
[23:18] Speaker 1: let's run in there and check it out. And let
[23:21] Speaker 1: me tell you something. Daryl is crazy. The dude is crazy.
[23:26] Speaker 1: when it comes to that stuff, if there's, he's going
[23:29] Speaker 1: in right now on it. And, you know, at that time, no,
[23:34] Speaker 1: you know, I still don't know. So no, I'm not
[23:36] Speaker 1: doing that. I looked at him. I'm like, there's no
[23:38] Speaker 1: freaking way, Daryl. I'm not going in there. And, uh,
[23:41] Speaker 1: we just stood there and watched for a while to
[23:43] Speaker 1: see if anything, we could catch any motion or anything
[23:46] Speaker 1: like that. And, um, Nothing. And so we headed out.
[23:52] Speaker 1: But also, while we were there the first time, I
[23:58] Speaker 1: found a hard-boiled egg laying right in the middle of
[24:00] Speaker 1: the road. It was completely clean, not cracked, nothing. And
[24:04] Speaker 1: so I was asking Darrell about it. He goes, yeah,
[24:05] Speaker 1: I put hard-boiled eggs down in here. And they like
[24:10] Speaker 1: the hard-boiled eggs. He said, but they have to have
[24:12] Speaker 1: the shells on them. If they peel them, they won't
[24:15] Speaker 1: touch them. But if they let pull, they'll take them.
[24:19] Speaker 1: So that's kind of where things started. And from there,
[24:25] Speaker 1: the place I was working at, we made airplane engine
[24:28] Speaker 1: parts and that's when COVID hit and nobody was flying.
[24:35] Speaker 1: So we were on a furlough for a month. So,
[24:38] Speaker 1: or well, it ended up being a few months. So
[24:41] Speaker 1: I was going back and forth with them probably once
[24:44] Speaker 1: a week up there. And Um, it's, it's just really
[24:50] Speaker 1: a weird area because it's like a finger going all
[24:53] Speaker 1: the way down into the bottom and that whole ridge,
[24:56] Speaker 1: as long as you're on that ridge, there is no noise.
[24:59] Speaker 1: There's no birds, no squirrels, nothing. You hear nothing until
[25:04] Speaker 1: you walk off, you get off that, that finger that
[25:07] Speaker 1: goes down and go on to one of the others
[25:09] Speaker 1: and it's business as usual. But that one finger going
[25:12] Speaker 1: all the way down, never has anything going on. Um,
[25:17] Speaker 1: So we started, well, I didn't start, he'd already been
[25:20] Speaker 1: doing it, but I started doing some stuff too. Like
[25:26] Speaker 1: I would put, we would make PP structures and the
[25:30] Speaker 1: gaps would be maybe an inch apart with all these
[25:33] Speaker 1: sticks all the way around. And inside of it, we
[25:37] Speaker 1: would put like a peanut butter jar with a screw
[25:39] Speaker 1: on lid. And we would put food in there, whether
[25:43] Speaker 1: it be cookies and apple, granola bars, anything like that.
[25:46] Speaker 1: We'd screw the lid back down, put it up, make
[25:49] Speaker 1: sure the sticks are all the way around it. And
[25:51] Speaker 1: we come back a week later, the stick structure would
[25:54] Speaker 1: still be up, but the jar would be on the
[25:57] Speaker 1: ground next to it, unscrewed, and the food would be gone.
[26:01] Speaker 1: Can I say Bigfoot did it? No, because I didn't
[26:04] Speaker 1: see him do it. But something had to do it
[26:06] Speaker 1: that had opposable thumbs to be able to pull that
[26:09] Speaker 1: thing or, you know, unscrew it. Cause if it had
[26:12] Speaker 1: been in any other animal, it would knock down the
[26:15] Speaker 1: teepee structure to get it. And the plastic on the,
[26:20] Speaker 1: on the peanut butter jar would be chewed up and
[26:23] Speaker 1: gone or, you know, chewed up teeth marks and stuff.
[26:26] Speaker 1: And there was another, it was just, it was absolutely perfect.
[26:29] Speaker 1: It was just laying on the ground empty. They loved
[26:34] Speaker 1: peanut butter cookies. So we were always putting up peanut
[26:37] Speaker 1: butter cookies. So I, I have a trail cam. The
[26:44] Speaker 1: first time I had set it up down in there,
[26:48] Speaker 1: so they make this camouflage clothing and it blocks because
[26:53] Speaker 1: everybody puts off an electrical charge to them. And so
[27:00] Speaker 1: this guy came up with this stuff. It's called hex
[27:02] Speaker 1: gear and it hides that stuff. So I actually cut
[27:06] Speaker 1: the sleeve of one of my shirts off wrapped my
[27:10] Speaker 1: camera in it and then just cut out what I
[27:12] Speaker 1: needed to for the camera to work. And I buried
[27:14] Speaker 1: it in the ground. And just so that stuff was
[27:17] Speaker 1: sticking out also. And I got pictures of something. It
[27:22] Speaker 1: just kind of, you know, goes like this and whites
[27:26] Speaker 1: it out where you can't see what it is. And
[27:28] Speaker 1: then I show up and the cameras pulled out of
[27:32] Speaker 1: the ground, turned upside down and put face down. Again,
[27:36] Speaker 1: can I say Bigfoot did it? No, I don't know
[27:39] Speaker 1: what did it, but something reached in the ground. So
[27:44] Speaker 1: I changed it, put it in a stump, had the
[27:47] Speaker 1: same thing. But before that, I had the camera set
[27:51] Speaker 1: at a six picture burst with no delay. So if
[27:55] Speaker 1: something was there, it's literally just going tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick.
[27:58] Speaker 1: It'll never stop until that SD card fills up or
[28:01] Speaker 1: my batteries die, one of the two. And So out
[28:06] Speaker 1: in front of it, I had this brush and it was,
[28:08] Speaker 1: you know, it was just a bunch of brush and
[28:10] Speaker 1: a bunch of fingers through it. And so I stuck cookies,
[28:13] Speaker 1: a whole bag of Nutter Butter cookies in that thing
[28:17] Speaker 1: and went, checked it. All the Nutter Butter cookies are gone.
[28:21] Speaker 1: I'm thinking, all right, that's cool. And checked my card
[28:25] Speaker 1: and was looking at it. And You see the brush
[28:28] Speaker 1: like this with all the cookies in it. Then the
[28:30] Speaker 1: next picture, it's shifted sideways like this, still has the
[28:34] Speaker 1: cookies and it comes right back and there's no cookies
[28:37] Speaker 1: in it. And that's when the weird started happened to
[28:40] Speaker 1: me all the time. It was after that. It was
[28:43] Speaker 1: literally in the middle of reversed. So it was part
[28:46] Speaker 1: of the first six pictures that were being taken. So
[28:49] Speaker 1: it wasn't like, you know, being taken and then it
[28:52] Speaker 1: stopped and took again. It was literally in the middle
[28:55] Speaker 1: of a tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick. I
[28:59] Speaker 1: never got any pictures that any animals in there, no deer,
[29:02] Speaker 1: no squirrels, nothing. If you got food out there, you know,
[29:07] Speaker 1: bears are going to come in, all kinds of stuff's
[29:10] Speaker 1: going to come in on it. But there was, there
[29:12] Speaker 1: was literally nothing, nothing.
[29:17] Speaker 2: You've seen the picture Daryl has of what looks like
[29:20] Speaker 2: an alien, right?
[29:21] Speaker 1: Oh yeah. Yeah. That happened when I was still thinking of, Uh,
[29:25] Speaker 1: I never did that. Oh, wow. I wasn't there. I
[29:29] Speaker 1: was still hanging out there with him, but that particular
[29:32] Speaker 1: day I was not there with him. Okay. Wouldn't that happen?
[29:37] Speaker 2: That's wild.
[29:37] Speaker 1: That's wild. So, and then, uh, in April of 2020
[29:42] Speaker 1: while I was on furlough we we went out there
[29:48] Speaker 1: it was a clear night full moon no rain so
[29:52] Speaker 1: I called up Daryl like dude let's let's go sit
[29:55] Speaker 1: up there and and see what we you know, come across.
[30:00] Speaker 1: So it was all right. So I met him there
[30:05] Speaker 1: and we went up, we took some chairs with us
[30:07] Speaker 1: and stuff. So we, we walked down into the area
[30:10] Speaker 1: and we're walking down through there. And I found this
[30:15] Speaker 1: big woven branch, whole bunch of branches all woven together.
[30:19] Speaker 1: And I'm like, Daryl, check this out. So he comes
[30:22] Speaker 1: over there and on his way over, he goes, look,
[30:24] Speaker 1: Mark corpse right there. And I turned around and, but
[30:27] Speaker 1: I didn't turn around to see him. He said, there's
[30:29] Speaker 1: two white orbs going down towards the bottom. And he
[30:34] Speaker 1: looks at me, he goes, dude, when this happens, bad
[30:37] Speaker 1: stuff happens here. He says, stuff is going to happen tonight.
[30:40] Speaker 1: And you could look in his face and tell he
[30:42] Speaker 1: was freaked out. And like his arms were just covered
[30:48] Speaker 1: in goosebumps and hair standing up on end. And So
[30:53] Speaker 1: I'm like, okay, here we go. And I said, well,
[30:55] Speaker 1: I said, why don't we go grab our chairs, come
[30:58] Speaker 1: back down like a little bit of the way and we'll,
[31:01] Speaker 1: we'll sit down. And, and it was starting to get
[31:04] Speaker 1: dark by then. And so we got the chairs, got
[31:09] Speaker 1: them out, sat down and I had night vision with me,
[31:13] Speaker 1: but it was an older set. It's like a gen one.
[31:16] Speaker 1: And so we're sitting there and Daryl's hearing stuff down
[31:19] Speaker 1: in the bottom and I couldn't hear it because I've
[31:21] Speaker 1: worked around machinery my whole life. So I have hearing
[31:26] Speaker 1: loss in my ears. And so there are certain tones
[31:29] Speaker 1: that I can't hear that I couldn't hear. And then
[31:33] Speaker 1: it started getting a little closer. And I finally heard something.
[31:36] Speaker 1: I told Daryl, yeah, I can hear that, you know,
[31:38] Speaker 1: and we're sitting there and it just gets quiet and nothing,
[31:43] Speaker 1: he's not, or it's not moving or nothing is moving
[31:46] Speaker 1: at that point. And out in front of me pops
[31:50] Speaker 1: up a red orb. And I told Daryl, look right there,
[31:53] Speaker 1: there's an orb. And he looks up, same thing. We're like, wow,
[32:00] Speaker 1: you know, kind of freaking out a little bit. And
[32:03] Speaker 1: I sit back and I'm just kind of relaxing for
[32:05] Speaker 1: a second. I'm like, dude, some don't feel right. And
[32:08] Speaker 1: then all of a sudden, my arms started getting covered
[32:11] Speaker 1: in goosebumps and hair standing up. And I told Daryl,
[32:14] Speaker 1: I just kind of whispered over to him because we
[32:16] Speaker 1: were trying to be quiet. I'm like, something's not right, man.
[32:19] Speaker 1: And I throw up my monocular and out steps one. Oh,
[32:25] Speaker 1: he's maybe 20 yards from us, but comes out from
[32:28] Speaker 1: behind one tree, walks across the trail and goes back
[32:31] Speaker 1: behind some other trees going down the trail. Yeah. Yeah.
[32:36] Speaker 1: And I'm like, holy crap. And it scared me because
[32:39] Speaker 1: I just wasn't expecting it. I mean, I guess you
[32:41] Speaker 1: never really are. But I went kind of running backwards
[32:45] Speaker 1: in my chair trying to get out. And we got
[32:48] Speaker 1: up the hill, got out of there. I'm talking to Tara.
[32:51] Speaker 1: I'm like, holy, you know, whenever I'm in the woods,
[32:55] Speaker 1: I always have a gun on me. And I'm not
[32:58] Speaker 1: worried about Bigfoot, to be honest. It's the other stuff,
[33:01] Speaker 1: the cougars up there. Uh, there's a lot of meth
[33:06] Speaker 1: and a lot of meth heads, you know, a little mobile, um,
[33:10] Speaker 1: labs and stuff. So I always have a gun on
[33:12] Speaker 1: me when I'm in the woods and it's a 44 mag.
[33:15] Speaker 1: And I told Terrell, I said, this thing's something happened.
[33:19] Speaker 1: This has been taken up. It's not gonna, not gonna
[33:22] Speaker 1: do any good. So he goes, well, we'll go back
[33:25] Speaker 1: and get the territory. I'll go back in the morning.
[33:27] Speaker 1: I said, well, why don't you wait for me to
[33:28] Speaker 1: come up and I'll go with you. And he ended
[33:30] Speaker 1: up going up and, and, um, the next day and
[33:34] Speaker 1: getting it, it was like two days later, I went
[33:36] Speaker 1: with them up there. And so we checked where it
[33:40] Speaker 1: had walked through and where the trail that it was
[33:43] Speaker 1: on went to this gifting stump that we always used.
[33:46] Speaker 1: We always, always, always put a ton of cookies on there.
[33:50] Speaker 1: We would lift up this, there was a huge rock
[33:53] Speaker 1: that we put on there. We would lift it up
[33:56] Speaker 1: and put a bunch of cookies underneath it and then
[34:00] Speaker 1: put the rock back down and squirrels and stuff like
[34:04] Speaker 1: that aren't gonna be able to move it. And we
[34:06] Speaker 1: would come back and we'd lift the rock up, all
[34:08] Speaker 1: the cookies would be gone, but the rock could still
[34:11] Speaker 1: be there. So we were figuring he was just grabbing
[34:15] Speaker 1: the rock, picking it up, pulling it out the cookies
[34:18] Speaker 1: and then laying it back down. Can we say he
[34:20] Speaker 1: did it? No, we didn't physically ever see him do it.
[34:24] Speaker 1: But so anyway, so in my backpack that I always
[34:29] Speaker 1: had with me, I had a tape measure and where
[34:33] Speaker 1: the trail that he was walking and the tree that
[34:37] Speaker 1: he was by, we measured and he was about nine
[34:41] Speaker 1: foot tall. So I could see him from about, Mid-thigh,
[34:48] Speaker 1: maybe just a little bit below mid-thigh, walking across when
[34:54] Speaker 1: he went in front of us. His chest, I couldn't
[34:58] Speaker 1: see anything on his face because, like I said, he
[35:01] Speaker 1: turned sideways and he just walked through. But his chest,
[35:05] Speaker 1: he was every bit of two-foot-tall. you know, maybe 28 inches,
[35:12] Speaker 1: something like that. I deal with measurements all the time.
[35:15] Speaker 1: So I just kind of can ballpark pretty dang close,
[35:18] Speaker 1: but he was every bit of two foot, probably pushing
[35:21] Speaker 1: 28 inches thick from, um, from chest to back. Um,
[35:26] Speaker 1: it was just massive, absolutely massive.
[35:30] Speaker 2: Um, was it, so I guess in this, this scenario,
[35:34] Speaker 2: you would have had a much more view than you
[35:38] Speaker 2: did over in Eastern Oregon. Because you saw it actually
[35:42] Speaker 2: walking over. So it was walking over where you saw
[35:46] Speaker 2: the red orb then?
[35:48] Speaker 1: Yes. The red orbs were out in front of me.
[35:52] Speaker 1: And then the tree was just kind of off to
[35:54] Speaker 1: the side just a little tiny bit. And it stepped
[35:58] Speaker 1: out from there. And I saw it for about maybe
[36:03] Speaker 1: 10 yards of walking. So I actually saw that one
[36:06] Speaker 1: for less time than what I saw the first one.
[36:11] Speaker 1: this is the first one, like I said, he stuck
[36:12] Speaker 1: his head out and he stared. This one just was
[36:15] Speaker 1: walking past. So whatever, whatever it took him to walk
[36:19] Speaker 1: 10 yards, which was just a few steps. Um, we,
[36:24] Speaker 1: that we, we ended up there with kind of a
[36:26] Speaker 1: family down in there. Cause we could tell where, again,
[36:30] Speaker 1: we're guessing by the size of tracks and stuff. Um,
[36:35] Speaker 1: That one we called, we figured was like the alpha male.
[36:39] Speaker 1: I've got casts of his tracks and then I've got
[36:41] Speaker 1: like measurements where I would measure from heel to heel
[36:45] Speaker 1: of him taking a step. And it was at 64 inches.
[36:49] Speaker 1: So he's, you know. Oh, man. It's big.
[36:53] Speaker 2: More than five feet?
[36:54] Speaker 1: Wow. Yeah. Yeah.
[36:56] Speaker 2: Okay. Oh, man. How big were the orbs that you
[37:01] Speaker 2: were seeing down there? You mentioned white and this red one.
[37:04] Speaker 1: So I didn't see the one that Daryl saw. I
[37:07] Speaker 1: didn't see those two. But the red one, it looked,
[37:11] Speaker 1: because it's really weird because it was, they're bright, but
[37:17] Speaker 1: it's almost like a glow stick. You know, they're putting
[37:21] Speaker 1: off light, but they're not, it wasn't lighting stuff up.
[37:26] Speaker 1: And I would guess size-wise, a little bit bigger than
[37:31] Speaker 1: a softball. but it wasn't as big as like a basketball.
[37:35] Speaker 1: So it was kind of in, in that range, but
[37:37] Speaker 1: closer to the softball size. Cause it was kind of
[37:41] Speaker 1: hard to judge too. Cause it's, you know, it's dark
[37:44] Speaker 1: and you see this in there, but you can't really
[37:46] Speaker 1: see exactly where, you know, the distance cause it's dark.
[37:51] Speaker 1: I mean, we're in the timber, you know?
[37:54] Speaker 2: Absolutely. Was that the one time that you had been
[37:58] Speaker 2: able to have a visual of a Bigfoot in that area?
[38:02] Speaker 1: That was the first. Yes. Well, that was my, that
[38:06] Speaker 1: was my only, uh, visual, but Daryl's had several visuals
[38:11] Speaker 1: in that area.
[38:13] Speaker 2: Absolutely. You mentioned that, um, when you had done things
[38:18] Speaker 2: with the camera, then there were weird things that started
[38:22] Speaker 2: to happen afterwards. Were there any other weird things that
[38:26] Speaker 2: happened in that area that you would want to share? Uh,
[38:31] Speaker 2: Or how about this?
[38:32] Speaker 1: Well, I was going to tell you afterwards.
[38:36] Speaker 2: It's up to you.
[38:37] Speaker 1: I was going to tell you afterwards.
[38:39] Speaker 2: It's up to you.
[38:40] Speaker 1: No, I'll tell you.
[38:41] Speaker 2: Okay.
[38:44] Speaker 1: So, you know, I found some juvenile tracks that were
[38:50] Speaker 1: maybe five inches long, six inches long at the most.
[38:57] Speaker 1: And it was right at the edge of a cliff,
[39:01] Speaker 1: or not really a cliff, but a steep embankment going down.
[39:04] Speaker 1: And there was a creek down there. And I stepped
[39:07] Speaker 1: up to the edge of it. And I'm looking over
[39:10] Speaker 1: the edge thinking, okay, I want to get down there
[39:12] Speaker 1: and look at the creek and see if I can
[39:13] Speaker 1: see some new fresh tracks and, you know, bigger tracks
[39:18] Speaker 1: and stuff in there, see what's in there. And this
[39:21] Speaker 1: is some of the strange crap that I would have.
[39:23] Speaker 1: I leaned over and I'm looking. uh, for a way down.
[39:27] Speaker 1: And in my head, I heard, no, you're not. And
[39:32] Speaker 1: I'm just like, okay, I'm not. And I backed off. Um,
[39:39] Speaker 1: it wasn't me. And I don't know how to explain it,
[39:44] Speaker 1: but it wasn't me. And I backed off and I
[39:46] Speaker 1: told Daryl about it. And, uh, He's had, I don't
[39:51] Speaker 1: know if he's had it, but there's, he's heard of
[39:53] Speaker 1: people having it around that area too. The mind speak. And, um,
[39:58] Speaker 1: I just, that kind of tripped me out. Um, and
[40:04] Speaker 1: that's not the only thing I've had happen. So since
[40:09] Speaker 1: I'm going to spill the beans on, on some stuff, um,
[40:13] Speaker 1: even when that, my first thing that happened to me,
[40:16] Speaker 1: walk up behind me in Eastern Oregon. I had, I
[40:22] Speaker 1: had heard the episode on Sasquatch Chronicles where Les Stroud
[40:26] Speaker 1: was there and he was having the mind speak and,
[40:30] Speaker 1: and kind of as he was talking, he's like, you know,
[40:33] Speaker 1: are you going to call me a liar? You weren't there.
[40:35] Speaker 1: You don't know. And, and I, so I just kind
[40:37] Speaker 1: of had, I always had that kind of thing. Like
[40:40] Speaker 1: when people, when I started going down the big foot
[40:42] Speaker 1: rabbit hole and people would tell me stuff and, A
[40:45] Speaker 1: lot of times I think, man, that's really out there.
[40:47] Speaker 1: And then I kind of would think what he said was,
[40:50] Speaker 1: you know, you're going to call him a liar. You
[40:52] Speaker 1: weren't there. And anyway, that night I was sitting there
[40:58] Speaker 1: and in my head while I was behind that tree,
[41:01] Speaker 1: I just put it out there. If there's anybody here,
[41:05] Speaker 1: let me know. If you guys are out here, let
[41:07] Speaker 1: me know. Give me a sign. And that was the sign. Coincidence? Yeah, maybe.
[41:13] Speaker 1: Or was it.
[41:15] Speaker 2: So that was in Eastern Oregon or Cottage Grove?
[41:18] Speaker 1: That was Eastern Oregon. That was when I had my
[41:21] Speaker 1: very first, when I had the night of the tree knock,
[41:23] Speaker 1: the night of the tree knock.
[41:27] Speaker 2: That really, that changes a lot because it's not just,
[41:32] Speaker 2: it's not just that you had a sighting. It's that
[41:34] Speaker 2: you did a, almost a mentally reach out where you're like, Hey,
[41:38] Speaker 2: if something's here, then I am inviting it in and
[41:42] Speaker 2: show me. And man, They showed you, dude.
[41:45] Speaker 1: Wow. Yeah. So the following year, I went back there
[41:49] Speaker 1: to Eastern Oregon hunting with my buddy Tom again. My
[41:52] Speaker 1: dad was with me and another buddy of ours, Kerry.
[41:56] Speaker 1: And this was another thing I was going to tell
[41:58] Speaker 1: you after the show. But like I said, I'm just
[42:01] Speaker 1: going to spill the beans on some of this stuff
[42:03] Speaker 1: because I haven't told anybody this on any other interviews
[42:07] Speaker 1: that I've done other than one guy. But he's kind
[42:11] Speaker 1: of a friend, become a friend. So. Um, again, I
[42:15] Speaker 1: was listening to the same show and just that episode
[42:18] Speaker 1: had to do with the, um, Sierra sounds. And in
[42:22] Speaker 1: my head, I just put it out there, you know,
[42:25] Speaker 1: I'm laying out in the open. I just, the only,
[42:27] Speaker 1: I just had my cot laying out and I had
[42:29] Speaker 1: a tarp tied to the trees between me just to
[42:32] Speaker 1: keep the pine needles from landing on me and keep
[42:35] Speaker 1: them out of my sleeping bag and stuff like that.
[42:38] Speaker 1: And I'm laying there and I said, Hey, this is, uh, me.
[42:42] Speaker 1: I was there. I was here last year. You're the
[42:45] Speaker 1: one that showed me, you know, showed yourself to me
[42:49] Speaker 1: and stuff. If you're here, if you'd let me know,
[42:51] Speaker 1: I'd like to know. And I just put that out
[42:54] Speaker 1: there again. And the next thing I know, I feel
[42:59] Speaker 1: this massive hand just absolutely lay and engulf my head
[43:03] Speaker 1: from the back of my head that I was laying
[43:05] Speaker 1: on my side from the back of my head all
[43:07] Speaker 1: the way around to like my nose. I felt the
[43:10] Speaker 1: hand touch me and It was plain as day. I
[43:14] Speaker 1: felt it touching me. It wasn't imagination, nothing. I could
[43:18] Speaker 1: feel it touch me and it was gone and it
[43:21] Speaker 1: was nothing there. I never heard anything, nothing. I never
[43:26] Speaker 1: heard anything walk off, come in, go out, nothing. So
[43:32] Speaker 1: like I said, I, that happened after that was, you know,
[43:36] Speaker 1: after I was thinking, Oh, it's an animal. And then
[43:40] Speaker 1: started having that stuff. uh, with Daryl. And then that's
[43:44] Speaker 1: when I started kind of shifting over to the other side.
[43:48] Speaker 2: Absolutely. Um, I, I want to ask a few questions
[43:52] Speaker 2: because that is absolutely fascinating. Um, are you saying then
[43:56] Speaker 2: that cause, um, were you on the inside, inside a
[44:03] Speaker 2: tent and it reached through like up against the tent
[44:05] Speaker 2: or you could feel like it was up against your face,
[44:08] Speaker 2: but there's nothing there.
[44:09] Speaker 1: It was on my face. I was not in a tent.
[44:11] Speaker 1: I literally just had my my cot laying out out
[44:17] Speaker 1: in the open. When we hunt East Oregon, 90 percent
[44:20] Speaker 1: of the time, a lot of it were off our back.
[44:23] Speaker 1: So wherever we stopped that night when I was younger,
[44:27] Speaker 1: it was that way. Whenever we stopped, we threw our
[44:29] Speaker 1: sleeping bag out on the ground. That's where we were.
[44:31] Speaker 1: Just this place. We had a camp, but I wasn't
[44:34] Speaker 1: in a tent or anything. I literally just had my
[44:36] Speaker 1: cot out in the open and I just had a
[44:39] Speaker 1: tarp tied up in the trees above me just to
[44:41] Speaker 1: keep the pine needles off me, keep them out of
[44:44] Speaker 1: my sleeping bag and stuff like that. Other than that,
[44:47] Speaker 1: I was in the open.
[44:48] Speaker 2: Okay. What was your immediate emotional response to that happening
[44:55] Speaker 2: where it is on the side of your face like that?
[44:58] Speaker 2: That's got to be just wild.
[45:00] Speaker 1: I just said, thank you. And that's all I did.
[45:03] Speaker 1: And just had my mind blown.
[45:08] Speaker 2: Wow. That is so, that is so wild. So I,
[45:11] Speaker 2: you know, if I was to hear that account from
[45:14] Speaker 2: 99% other people, you know, that response would be like
[45:19] Speaker 2: one of horror or, or, Oh, what's happening to me.
[45:22] Speaker 2: But it's just, thank you. That's, that's amazing, Mark.
[45:26] Speaker 1: Wow. Well, it's, it's one of those, I'd had so
[45:28] Speaker 1: much stuff with Daryl, I can't even recall everything that's
[45:34] Speaker 1: happened with me and him down in there just because
[45:37] Speaker 1: it was all the time. It was all the time.
[45:42] Speaker 1: I couldn't tell you how many tree knocks. Like I said,
[45:45] Speaker 1: it got to the point with tracks. It's just a
[45:48] Speaker 1: set of tracks. Who cares? The only thing I'll have
[45:52] Speaker 1: to say with tracks, though, you would literally follow a
[45:56] Speaker 1: set of tracks. There'd be, I don't know, 20 to
[46:01] Speaker 1: 30 steps. And then all of a sudden there'd be
[46:05] Speaker 1: no more tracks and no place for it to go.
[46:08] Speaker 1: There's no trees there, nothing for it to grab ahold
[46:12] Speaker 1: of and climb and get out of. We would see
[46:14] Speaker 1: stuff like that all the time. And it's not that the,
[46:18] Speaker 1: the substrate that they were walking on changed. Everything was
[46:21] Speaker 1: the same. It would just be gone. It would absolutely
[46:26] Speaker 1: be gone. Um, So the track thing, that kind of
[46:31] Speaker 1: always was the one thing that would blow my mind
[46:34] Speaker 1: about seeing tracks is just, you know, I'd always go
[46:37] Speaker 1: and look and see how far they would go before
[46:39] Speaker 1: they would disappear. But they always disappeared. I never went
[46:44] Speaker 1: very far, never more than like 20, 30 steps, and
[46:48] Speaker 1: then they would be gone. So even like when we
[46:51] Speaker 1: would pull up there, because we always drove Daryl's truck,
[46:55] Speaker 1: and I kind of have a thing I thought, Um,
[47:00] Speaker 1: just like my dogs, when they come home from work,
[47:02] Speaker 1: they know the sound of my vehicle. I pull up,
[47:05] Speaker 1: they're bouncing around all excited and stuff like that. Every
[47:08] Speaker 1: time Daryl and I went up there or Daryl would
[47:10] Speaker 1: go without me, he took food up there and put
[47:13] Speaker 1: food out for him. It was always the same thing again. Um, cookies,
[47:18] Speaker 1: hard boiled eggs, peanut butter, um, peanut butter cookies. We
[47:23] Speaker 1: always put food out every single time. Um, And so
[47:28] Speaker 1: I think they recognized the sound of his truck because
[47:31] Speaker 1: we would always, again, park in the same area. And
[47:33] Speaker 1: we would literally get out of the truck, walk to
[47:36] Speaker 1: the edge of the hill before we'd go over the
[47:39] Speaker 1: side down in there. And we'd hear the whoop, whoop.
[47:44] Speaker 1: And I'd turn around and look at there and I'd go, yeah,
[47:46] Speaker 1: they know we're here. You know, they knew they were
[47:50] Speaker 1: there or we were there. So they knew food was coming.
[47:53] Speaker 1: And I think that's why... That night that we were
[47:58] Speaker 1: sitting there on the hillside that I had my second
[48:02] Speaker 1: encounter or sighting, because the trail he was on went
[48:07] Speaker 1: right to the gifting stump. So we think he just
[48:10] Speaker 1: came up out of the bottom, knew we had left food,
[48:12] Speaker 1: and was going to the food. We would set up
[48:16] Speaker 1: other food traps trying to catch stuff. We would stick...
[48:19] Speaker 1: um double stick tape and like loop it around branches
[48:23] Speaker 1: and then in the middle of it we would put
[48:25] Speaker 1: a hard-boiled egg and some bats hard-boiled egg would be
[48:28] Speaker 1: gone tape would still be there and there'd be fingerprints
[48:31] Speaker 1: in it and stuff but you know we never did
[48:35] Speaker 1: anything with the the you know other than looking at
[48:38] Speaker 1: it take pictures of it oh that's pretty cool but
[48:41] Speaker 1: you know We never did anything with it. It's not
[48:44] Speaker 1: like we didn't send it in or anything. I know
[48:47] Speaker 1: he did with some hair and stuff. Him and Toad did.
[48:50] Speaker 1: But as far as me and Daryl, we never sent
[48:54] Speaker 1: anything in.
[48:57] Speaker 2: So what was your normal reaction? Let's say if you're
[49:02] Speaker 2: in the Owl Moon Lab area with Daryl. How are
[49:05] Speaker 2: you normally reacting to all these strange things and sightings
[49:10] Speaker 2: and orbs that were going on around you?
[49:14] Speaker 1: Um at first it really freaked me out um but
[49:19] Speaker 1: then like i said things started happening so much and
[49:22] Speaker 1: so often the more you saw the more you were
[49:26] Speaker 1: around you just kind of get used to it i
[49:29] Speaker 1: mean it still would you know make your arm hair
[49:32] Speaker 1: stand on end and stuff when the crazy stuff would
[49:34] Speaker 1: start happening but um it wouldn't like absolutely freak me
[49:40] Speaker 1: out over it. Not like it did at the beginning. Hmm.
[49:47] Speaker 2: It's, it's such an interesting area. One I've never been to,
[49:52] Speaker 2: I've been to Oak Ridge a ton and it's, you know,
[49:56] Speaker 2: it's just a different way to get there from Eugene.
[49:59] Speaker 2: You take 50, like Oak Ridge, you're going to 58
[50:02] Speaker 2: instead of, uh, was it like I-5 down to Cottage Grove,
[50:06] Speaker 2: something like that?
[50:08] Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, I have a friend that hunts up there
[50:10] Speaker 1: in Oak Ridge, and I used to shoot archery competitive,
[50:14] Speaker 1: and so I'd travel all over. And he was one
[50:17] Speaker 1: of my buddies, and I didn't know at the time, but,
[50:20] Speaker 1: you know, as I started traveling with him and stuff,
[50:23] Speaker 1: he kind of slipped out and let me know that
[50:29] Speaker 1: he had had a bunch of encounters up at Oak Ridge.
[50:33] Speaker 1: He would find the tree breaks, tracks, he'd smell them.
[50:38] Speaker 1: He had a log thrown at his truck, hit the
[50:41] Speaker 1: bed of his truck. He's had all kinds of stuff
[50:44] Speaker 1: happen up there. So to him and his other hunting
[50:49] Speaker 1: buddy and his son. Oh, wow.
[50:52] Speaker 2: That's wild. Just off to the side, if you ever
[50:55] Speaker 2: would be open to talk to someone, I'd love to
[50:57] Speaker 2: talk to them. So something I hear about that Cottage
[51:04] Speaker 2: Grove area is, you always, it seems, uh, were you ever, uh, uh,
[51:13] Speaker 2: were you ever nervous about the hitchhiker effect or things
[51:17] Speaker 2: falling you home, uh, from that?
[51:20] Speaker 1: Um, so here's another kind of weird thing. Um, you know,
[51:29] Speaker 1: I was right at the end, I was getting divorced and, um,
[51:34] Speaker 1: was talking to somebody else on the phone, uh, my
[51:37] Speaker 1: now girlfriend, but, I had moved out and was living
[51:41] Speaker 1: with somebody, you know, living with a relative while I
[51:44] Speaker 1: decided what I was going to do. Because I knew
[51:46] Speaker 1: I didn't want to stay in Oregon anymore. I was
[51:49] Speaker 1: kind of tired of Oregon. And when I get on
[51:53] Speaker 1: the phone with her, something would, if I made like
[52:00] Speaker 1: a noise, like I would, I sometimes I'll snap my
[52:03] Speaker 1: fingers like that. And then I would stop. And then
[52:06] Speaker 1: in the phone, she would hear something else. duplicate me,
[52:11] Speaker 1: whatever I would do. If I made like a popping
[52:13] Speaker 1: sound with my noise, my mouth, a few minutes later,
[52:18] Speaker 1: she'd hear the same thing come over the phone. After that,
[52:21] Speaker 1: I'd already been talking to her. And then while I
[52:24] Speaker 1: was sitting in, I was living with my aunt at
[52:27] Speaker 1: the time, and I was sitting in my bedroom in
[52:30] Speaker 1: there one night on the phone and had an orb
[52:34] Speaker 1: come out of the wall, go under a desk, and
[52:38] Speaker 1: then underneath my bed. And that one was, that one
[52:43] Speaker 1: was kind of white with a little bit of purple,
[52:45] Speaker 1: almost looked like purple lightning going through it. And it was, um,
[52:50] Speaker 1: same thing. It was a little bit bigger than a softball,
[52:53] Speaker 1: maybe like halfway between a softball and a basketball. It
[52:58] Speaker 1: was pretty good size, uh, go through, um, the house.
[53:03] Speaker 2: My goodness.
[53:04] Speaker 1: Yeah, and like I said, I've always, like my last
[53:07] Speaker 1: house that I was living in in Oregon, we had
[53:10] Speaker 1: an Indian burial ground not too far from where we lived,
[53:14] Speaker 1: and I had stuff happen all the time in the house.
[53:19] Speaker 1: I was actually talking with the people from Flash of Beauty,
[53:25] Speaker 1: doing an interview with them, and they watched something walk
[53:28] Speaker 1: behind me, and they asked, is somebody there with you?
[53:30] Speaker 1: And I'm like, no, I'm here by myself. And they said, well,
[53:33] Speaker 1: we caught something walk behind you. And that house, like
[53:39] Speaker 1: I said, me and my daughter would be up in
[53:42] Speaker 1: the family room upstairs and we would out of the
[53:45] Speaker 1: corner where I kept stuff walking out of my bedroom
[53:48] Speaker 1: into her bedroom all the time. One time I was asleep.
[53:53] Speaker 1: I always sleep with earbuds in. I have to have noise,
[53:56] Speaker 1: background noise. If I don't, my brain just all night
[54:00] Speaker 1: long and I won't sleep. And I got slapped and
[54:03] Speaker 1: then had the earbud ripped out of my head. And
[54:05] Speaker 1: I was the only one home. I've had my kitchen cupboard,
[54:12] Speaker 1: or it sounded like somebody opened the kitchen cupboard, grabbed
[54:14] Speaker 1: all my pots and pans, picked them up and dropped
[54:17] Speaker 1: them on my floor. And actually, I thought somebody was
[54:20] Speaker 1: in my house. So I grabbed my gun and I
[54:22] Speaker 1: went running downstairs. And like my dog, she hung up
[54:27] Speaker 1: at the top of the stairs. She wouldn't go down
[54:28] Speaker 1: the stairs. I went running down the stairs with the
[54:30] Speaker 1: gun in my hand. go into the kitchen and nothing's there.
[54:35] Speaker 1: Pots and pans are where they belong, but plain as day,
[54:38] Speaker 1: I heard them just on the hardwood floors in the kitchen,
[54:42] Speaker 1: but nothing there. So I've always been around that kind
[54:46] Speaker 1: of stuff. So I think, I know a lot of
[54:53] Speaker 1: people say, once you see Bigfoot, some of them will
[54:56] Speaker 1: trust you and they'll let you see them again and again. Um,
[55:00] Speaker 1: I don't know how much validity there is to that,
[55:03] Speaker 1: but I think, um, if you are open to things
[55:09] Speaker 1: and I'm, I'm not saying like, you know, letting demons
[55:13] Speaker 1: in or anything like that, but if you're open to like, okay, yeah, I,
[55:16] Speaker 1: you know, I think UFOs are real and stuff like that. Um,
[55:22] Speaker 1: they're more open to show themselves to you. And maybe
[55:25] Speaker 1: that's the same thing with Bigfoot. Maybe it's the same
[55:27] Speaker 1: thing with the paranormal. Um, You know, I don't know.
[55:32] Speaker 1: You know, it's hard to say, you know, because like my,
[55:38] Speaker 1: at that time, like we would hear people walking in
[55:41] Speaker 1: the house, me and my daughter, we would be there.
[55:44] Speaker 1: But my ex-wife, she never heard anything, never saw anything
[55:49] Speaker 1: at the house, but she had blinders on to everything.
[55:53] Speaker 1: Nothing was real. None of that was real. She didn't
[55:55] Speaker 1: believe me that I saw Bigfoot. Thought I was full
[55:58] Speaker 1: of crap. Right.
[56:01] Speaker 2: And you're a hundred percent on where if, if it's
[56:04] Speaker 2: an individual where they're like, Oh yeah, there's weird stuff
[56:07] Speaker 2: out in the world. Then it's aim on man and
[56:10] Speaker 2: be aware of what might, what might come in. So
[56:14] Speaker 2: that's when things like prayer and stuff can help greatly.
[56:18] Speaker 1: Wow.
[56:19] Speaker 2: So yeah, it sounds like, so you moved out to Ohio,
[56:25] Speaker 2: but it sounds like you really haven't been out, um,
[56:28] Speaker 2: like doing any, any Bigfoot stuff, maybe taking a break
[56:31] Speaker 2: once you moved out there.
[56:33] Speaker 1: I haven't because I, again, I don't know anybody out
[56:38] Speaker 1: here that's into it. I'd love to get into a
[56:40] Speaker 1: group that, that does it out here and, and be
[56:43] Speaker 1: able to go, go out with them, you know, meet
[56:45] Speaker 1: somebody like a Daryl or some, something that's, that's, um,
[56:51] Speaker 1: into it. But I just, you know, I'm not on
[56:53] Speaker 1: social media anymore, so I never really got into, um,
[56:59] Speaker 1: meeting anybody out here that does it now. Um, I,
[57:04] Speaker 1: I hunt up at Michigan up at Northern Michigan, not
[57:07] Speaker 1: into the UP, but just Northern Michigan. And, um, my girlfriend,
[57:14] Speaker 1: her uncle had a sighting, um, up there. He was
[57:20] Speaker 1: coming home from the cabin and had one run across
[57:24] Speaker 1: from the lakeside back into the timber in front of him.
[57:28] Speaker 1: You know, we were probably, we left maybe an hour
[57:32] Speaker 1: after him. We had no idea. He never told us
[57:36] Speaker 1: for a long time. And he knows that I'd had
[57:39] Speaker 1: sightings and stuff, but he just, he was kind of
[57:41] Speaker 1: the same way. He just thought, I'm crazy. I don't
[57:45] Speaker 1: want to say anything to anybody. You know, he was
[57:47] Speaker 1: kind of, I guess the same thing everybody goes through,
[57:50] Speaker 1: or I would imagine everybody goes through that. They don't
[57:53] Speaker 1: want to, um, come out right away saying, Oh, guess
[57:57] Speaker 1: what I saw, you know, you know, like I had
[58:01] Speaker 1: one guy send me some stuff on messenger and stuff. Well, um,
[58:07] Speaker 1: you just doing this to be famous. No, I'm not.
[58:11] Speaker 1: I make absolutely no money off anything I've ever done.
[58:14] Speaker 1: No interviews. I don't want to make money. I don't care.
[58:17] Speaker 1: I don't want to be famous. If I wanted to
[58:20] Speaker 1: be famous, I'd certainly pick something else to get into
[58:23] Speaker 1: than be the crazy guy that, you know, has seen Bigfoot.
[58:28] Speaker 2: Yeah, 100%.
[58:28] Speaker 1: Right.
[58:29] Speaker 2: Yeah, it always gets me when you hear that tossed around.
[58:35] Speaker 1: I mean.
[58:36] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[58:37] Speaker 1: Just....
[58:39] Speaker 2: It is not the highest ranking thing on YouTube. Get
[58:42] Speaker 2: into like financial literacy or something like that.
[58:46] Speaker 1: Right.
[58:46] Speaker 2: But that's a different discussion. So wild stuff. Now you
[58:53] Speaker 2: have mentioned, you kind of mentioned it in passing. So
[58:58] Speaker 2: there's definitely, it sounds like a spot where you got
[59:00] Speaker 2: from thinking that Bigfoot is some kind of animal. to, hey,
[59:06] Speaker 2: there's something else going on here. There's maybe some paranormal things.
[59:10] Speaker 2: So I'm guessing, was there a certain situation and maybe
[59:15] Speaker 2: we've already even discussed it where it really pushed you
[59:18] Speaker 2: over the edge and it was like, okay, what we're
[59:20] Speaker 2: dealing with cannot be explained as some undiscovered great ape
[59:24] Speaker 2: out in the woods.
[59:26] Speaker 1: Yeah. Um, I think it was just the buildup over time.
[59:30] Speaker 1: I can't say that just one specific thing changed me because,
[59:36] Speaker 1: you know, I would see, you know, okay. Cause I always,
[59:40] Speaker 1: you know, like a lot, you know, I have a
[59:43] Speaker 1: friend of mine at work that he lives in or
[59:45] Speaker 1: has a place up in Northern Michigan that he's had encounters.
[59:50] Speaker 1: He has them slapping his cabin at night, certain times
[59:53] Speaker 1: of the year, here's the whoops, finds the tracks, all
[59:56] Speaker 1: that stuff. And, you know, we'll look at a lot
[59:58] Speaker 1: of stuff and, 99% of what you see out there
[1:00:01] Speaker 1: is just crap. I mean, it's, you know, and especially
[1:00:05] Speaker 1: now with all this AI. So, so we kind of,
[1:00:13] Speaker 1: I just kind of, I was kind of numb to
[1:00:15] Speaker 1: a lot of this stuff. I would just kind of start,
[1:00:18] Speaker 1: you know, again, I guess I'm drifting off a little bit.
[1:00:21] Speaker 1: I tend to do that, but there was really no,
[1:00:26] Speaker 1: no one thing that kind of sent me, you know,
[1:00:30] Speaker 1: over that, I would see, like I said, you know,
[1:00:32] Speaker 1: you would see the tracks going on and then they
[1:00:34] Speaker 1: would disappear. And I've always like tried to debunk everything. Like,
[1:00:40] Speaker 1: you know, some people, they hear a crack in the woods. Oh,
[1:00:42] Speaker 1: it's a big foot. Is it? You mean there's no
[1:00:45] Speaker 1: elk out here? There's no bears out here. There's no
[1:00:47] Speaker 1: deer out here that can walk and make that branch break,
[1:00:51] Speaker 1: you know? So I've always tried to debunk stuff, but
[1:00:55] Speaker 1: when you would see the tracks, And they would disappear.
[1:00:58] Speaker 1: I would always think, okay, there's got to be a
[1:01:00] Speaker 1: tree or something that they're jumping into or climbing or
[1:01:03] Speaker 1: whatever and going away in. But when you can't find anything,
[1:01:11] Speaker 1: it makes you just kind of think, oh, that's kind
[1:01:13] Speaker 1: of weird. So you just kind of store that back there.
[1:01:16] Speaker 1: And then when I would get pictures and see the
[1:01:19] Speaker 1: branches go, shh, shh, and then the cookies are gone. Okay,
[1:01:24] Speaker 1: how'd that happen, you know? again, can I say Bigfoot
[1:01:28] Speaker 1: did it? No, because I don't have pictures of them
[1:01:30] Speaker 1: doing it, but it was just stuff like that all
[1:01:33] Speaker 1: the time. And it just, and then, um, after the
[1:01:36] Speaker 1: mind speak happened, that's when it was like, okay, there's
[1:01:40] Speaker 1: something else to these things. Cause that, uh, the minds
[1:01:44] Speaker 1: speak thing had happened probably maybe a month or month
[1:01:50] Speaker 1: and a half into hanging out with Daryl up there.
[1:01:53] Speaker 1: You know, I was seeing some of the other stuff, but, um,
[1:01:57] Speaker 1: finally that was the one thing that at the end
[1:02:00] Speaker 1: I was like, okay, yeah, yeah. But it wasn't solely
[1:02:03] Speaker 1: just because of that. It was, you know, the other
[1:02:05] Speaker 1: things that I had seen and, you know, what happened
[1:02:09] Speaker 1: there that, uh, it just kind of all builded up
[1:02:14] Speaker 1: or built up and made me go the way I,
[1:02:17] Speaker 1: you know, think the way I think. Um, So I've
[1:02:21] Speaker 1: always just kind of left things that, you know, people
[1:02:24] Speaker 1: ask me about or whatever. And I, I don't know, man,
[1:02:27] Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't, you know, I can tell
[1:02:31] Speaker 1: you what I've seen, what I've heard, um, what has happened.
[1:02:36] Speaker 1: I can tell you that you can draw your conclusions
[1:02:39] Speaker 1: from there, but I don't know. Right.
[1:02:42] Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely. Um, when you guys were in that area, uh,
[1:02:49] Speaker 2: would you ever hear like disembodied voices or your names
[1:02:56] Speaker 2: being called from the woods or anything like that?
[1:02:59] Speaker 1: I never did. I never did. I can't speak for Daryl,
[1:03:03] Speaker 1: but I personally never heard anything like that. The only,
[1:03:08] Speaker 1: the noises that I would hear were the once in
[1:03:12] Speaker 1: a while you'd hear screams, but we'd hear the wolves
[1:03:15] Speaker 1: more than anything. You just, hear that quite a bit.
[1:03:18] Speaker 1: And then, you know, I know they weren't vocal, but
[1:03:22] Speaker 1: the tree knocks, we would hear the tree knocks quite
[1:03:24] Speaker 1: a bit too.
[1:03:26] Speaker 2: Do you think the activity was, uh, limited to the
[1:03:31] Speaker 2: area that you would spend time with, um, uh, you
[1:03:37] Speaker 2: would spend there with, with Daryl or were there other, um,
[1:03:41] Speaker 2: places in the area that, that you would check out
[1:03:43] Speaker 2: and have activity happening?
[1:03:46] Speaker 1: There was other spots. So that place that, um, I
[1:03:49] Speaker 1: was talking about having the rocks thrown at us, that
[1:03:52] Speaker 1: was the complete different area. I mean, it was still
[1:03:54] Speaker 1: cottage grove and it was probably as the crow flies,
[1:03:59] Speaker 1: maybe three, four miles away. So it wasn't terribly far away,
[1:04:04] Speaker 1: but it was a different area. And we had the
[1:04:07] Speaker 1: tree knocks there. We would find tracks down in there. Um,
[1:04:12] Speaker 1: then again, we had the rocks thrown at us that
[1:04:14] Speaker 1: one day, um, We went back to that same area
[1:04:18] Speaker 1: because it had been snowing up there. And we went back.
[1:04:24] Speaker 1: I don't know how long afterwards that we had the
[1:04:26] Speaker 1: rocks thrown at us. And I walked back in because
[1:04:29] Speaker 1: what it was, it was a big intersection in the road.
[1:04:32] Speaker 1: It was a big three-way. And out of the trees
[1:04:35] Speaker 1: in the middle here, we were standing in the road
[1:04:37] Speaker 1: down in here. And then it forked. And some rocks
[1:04:40] Speaker 1: came out of the middle throwing at us. So I
[1:04:42] Speaker 1: walked back in there and I found a bunch of
[1:04:45] Speaker 1: cracks back in that area.
[1:04:48] Speaker 2: My goodness. I've heard so many things from that area
[1:04:53] Speaker 2: over the years. I mean, if you go further east,
[1:04:55] Speaker 2: like sightings over by Culp Creek and weird stuff by
[1:04:59] Speaker 2: Sharps Creek. And I mean, then you got like Bohemia Mines.
[1:05:03] Speaker 2: Heard many sightings and weird stuff over there. I mean,
[1:05:06] Speaker 2: there's some historical ones, too, if you go. far back
[1:05:10] Speaker 2: in the historical record with the newspaper articles. Um, but
[1:05:13] Speaker 2: he did a whole area dude is just, is this weird, uh,
[1:05:18] Speaker 2: weird as all.
[1:05:18] Speaker 1: Kind of weird too. Cause when we, when we would
[1:05:21] Speaker 1: get up there and pull over and get out of
[1:05:23] Speaker 1: the truck, you, I don't know what it was, but
[1:05:27] Speaker 1: you always do. Okay. Yeah. They're in here today or no,
[1:05:29] Speaker 1: they're not. Even if you couldn't hear anything, you just
[1:05:31] Speaker 1: kind of had that, you had that feeling. It just
[1:05:34] Speaker 1: always had a weird, weird feeling to it. And we
[1:05:37] Speaker 1: would get in there and, I'm like, you know, and
[1:05:40] Speaker 1: Daryl would say the same thing. I think they're here today.
[1:05:42] Speaker 1: And I'm like, yeah, I think so too. And, you know,
[1:05:45] Speaker 1: sometimes we would get a reaction down in there, you know, later,
[1:05:49] Speaker 1: or sometimes, you know, we would say, it's just, I
[1:05:52] Speaker 1: don't know. I don't think they're in here. You just,
[1:05:54] Speaker 1: I don't know. It just, it was like, you just
[1:05:56] Speaker 1: felt different. And I don't know if it was just
[1:05:59] Speaker 1: in our head, but we would both always feel the
[1:06:02] Speaker 1: same thing. Yes, they're here or no, they're not. It's
[1:06:05] Speaker 1: not like, you know, I said they were, and he
[1:06:07] Speaker 1: said they weren't. it was always the same thing. Yeah.
[1:06:10] Speaker 1: They're here today or no, they're not here today.
[1:06:13] Speaker 2: Was it, uh, was it anything that you would notice, uh,
[1:06:18] Speaker 2: on your physical person that would change during that time?
[1:06:22] Speaker 1: No, it was just kind of, you know, in your gut,
[1:06:25] Speaker 1: you just kind of could just kind of feel it. So,
[1:06:28] Speaker 1: you know, we would find also another thing we would
[1:06:31] Speaker 1: find in there all the time, um, were triangles. There
[1:06:36] Speaker 1: were triangles everywhere in there. They would take sticks and
[1:06:41] Speaker 1: lay them out on triangles on logs. They'd be on
[1:06:44] Speaker 1: the ground. Some of them they would weave together and
[1:06:46] Speaker 1: they would hang them on stobs on the tree trunks.
[1:06:51] Speaker 1: We'd see that quite a bit. Woven branches. I've got
[1:06:56] Speaker 1: so many pictures of woven bushes. I have one that's
[1:06:59] Speaker 1: really cool. It's two like this and they come up
[1:07:02] Speaker 1: and then they make, they are tied into a complete circle.
[1:07:07] Speaker 1: I've got a lot of that stuff, all kinds of
[1:07:11] Speaker 1: woven stuff up there. Again, a lot of it, you
[1:07:14] Speaker 1: hate to say it, but you see it all the
[1:07:15] Speaker 1: time and you just kind of get numb to it.
[1:07:17] Speaker 1: It's like, eh, okay, it's just another woven branch. or whatever.
[1:07:21] Speaker 1: We've had logs where the, the ends of them are
[1:07:24] Speaker 1: rotten and literally I'll have 10 or 15 branches that
[1:07:29] Speaker 1: are probably, you know, inch and a half, two inches
[1:07:31] Speaker 1: around jammed into the end of it, just hanging out. Um,
[1:07:36] Speaker 1: they could do it. I don't know, but something with
[1:07:39] Speaker 1: hands had to do it.
[1:07:41] Speaker 2: You know, the way that you're describing the, the woven
[1:07:46] Speaker 2: from the cottage Grove area, I've had, other people send
[1:07:52] Speaker 2: me pictures like that from the same area. And it's
[1:07:56] Speaker 2: like almost very unique for the area. And I think,
[1:08:00] Speaker 2: I don't know if she still has it, but Priscilla
[1:08:02] Speaker 2: even had one on display at the Area 58 Museum
[1:08:09] Speaker 2: in Oak Ridge. Really, really cool stuff. It's just like,
[1:08:13] Speaker 2: it does not happen by itself in nature. There's no
[1:08:16] Speaker 2: way possible it's happening by itself in nature.
[1:08:19] Speaker 1: It's nuts no and when you can physically see like
[1:08:22] Speaker 1: where the branches are twisted and split open and stuff
[1:08:25] Speaker 1: like that yeah no it's not that's again can i
[1:08:29] Speaker 1: say bigfoot did it no because i didn't see him
[1:08:31] Speaker 1: do it but some who's gonna walk down in the
[1:08:34] Speaker 1: bottom of a freaking canyon weave up a bunch of
[1:08:37] Speaker 1: branches and walk back out of there i mean come.
[1:08:40] Speaker 2: On yeah absolutely logically it doesn't it doesn't make sense
[1:08:45] Speaker 2: um and i mean it And then you got the
[1:08:49] Speaker 2: stuff up in Mount Hood National Forest. You see if
[1:08:51] Speaker 2: you go in the woods, that's a whole story in itself.
[1:08:53] Speaker 2: But it's just it's weird, man, is so weird. Mark,
[1:08:58] Speaker 2: thank you for for sharing. about, you know, what you've
[1:09:01] Speaker 2: experienced over the years. Cottage Grove, especially is a weird place.
[1:09:07] Speaker 2: It's always, it's always a treat when I'm able to
[1:09:10] Speaker 2: talk to someone about their experiences. And it's like, as
[1:09:13] Speaker 2: I said before, it doesn't matter if it's in, you know,
[1:09:17] Speaker 2: 20 or 2020, Or the 1990s. It was still going on.
[1:09:25] Speaker 2: It doesn't matter what time frame it was. It's so,
[1:09:27] Speaker 2: so weird. So I want to say thank you so
[1:09:30] Speaker 2: much for coming on the show. Mark, are you the
[1:09:32] Speaker 2: kind of individual where if people want to reach out
[1:09:36] Speaker 2: to you about stuff that you've mentioned, is there a
[1:09:40] Speaker 2: way to reach out to you or do you prefer
[1:09:43] Speaker 2: to be in the background?
[1:09:45] Speaker 1: They can hit me up on my email providing... It's,
[1:09:48] Speaker 1: you know, they're asking legit questions. If you're going to
[1:09:51] Speaker 1: be a jerk, don't waste my time. I'm not going to,
[1:09:56] Speaker 1: I'm not going to waste my time answering you back
[1:09:59] Speaker 1: and getting into it. He said, she said, or whatever.
[1:10:02] Speaker 1: I'm not going to do it. So don't waste your breath.
[1:10:04] Speaker 1: But if you have legit questions and you want to
[1:10:06] Speaker 1: talk to me about it, ask, ask away. So you
[1:10:10] Speaker 1: can use my email. It's blacktailmark, B-L-A-C-K-T-A-I-L-T-A-I-L.com. Mark at gmail.com.
[1:10:19] Speaker 2: Perfect. And I'll have that in the description or the
[1:10:22] Speaker 2: show notes of the episode that people can check out too.
[1:10:26] Speaker 2: But thank you so much, Mark, for hanging out. If,
[1:10:29] Speaker 2: if you run into anything out there in Ohio, reach out,
[1:10:33] Speaker 2: let us know. Hopefully, you know, you can get set
[1:10:36] Speaker 2: up with some, some group out there, maybe have some
[1:10:39] Speaker 2: adventures or maybe just go to South Fork State Park and,
[1:10:42] Speaker 2: and just kind of meet some people, Definitely meet some
[1:10:46] Speaker 2: people that way. But it's been a pleasure talking to you, man.
[1:10:48] Speaker 2: Thank you so much.
[1:10:49] Speaker 1: Yeah, thank you for having me.
[1:10:50] Speaker 2: Special thanks to Mark Parker for coming on the show today.
[1:10:54] Speaker 2: If you've had a Bigfoot encounter of your own, I
[1:10:56] Speaker 2: would love to hear from you. You can send me
[1:10:58] Speaker 2: an email with your encounter at bigfootsociety at gmail.com. I've
[1:11:03] Speaker 2: come out with a free report about the top 10
[1:11:07] Speaker 2: Bigfoot hotspots. You can go over to bit.ly forward slash
[1:11:12] Speaker 2: BFS report. I'm Jeremiah Byron. Thanks for listening to Bigfoot Society,
[1:11:17] Speaker 2: and I'll see you
[1:11:18] Speaker 1: In the woods.
