In this episode, an Army veteran and lifelong Bigfoot researcher shares chilling first-hand encounters with massive Sasquatch in Northern Utah’s Ogden Canyon and Monte Cristo Range. What began as a late-night drive through the Wasatch Mountains turned into a terrifying face-to-face encounter with an eight-foot-tall humanoid figure, complete with eye shine, a human-like scowl, and overwhelming presence. Years later, during a winter trip above Pineview Reservoir, the witness experiences a second encounter—this time involving two Sasquatch, including what appeared to be an older and younger individual displaying protective behavior. He describes strange vocalizations, cloaking or camouflage-like movement, enormous tracks in the snow, and a tense standoff that ended without violence. 🗣️ Share Your Story Had a Bigfoot encounter or strange experience? [0:00] Speaker 1: You're listening to Big for Society, and I'm Jeremiah Byron.
[0:03] Speaker 1: In this show, we go beyond the campfire stories to
[0:05] Speaker 1: bring you first hand encounters from people who say they've
[0:08] Speaker 1: seen something impossible. From backwoods trails and remote mountain haulers
[0:12] Speaker 1: to quiet farms and crowded highways. The stories come from everywhere,
[0:16] Speaker 1: and each one leaves us with more questions than answers.
[0:20] Speaker 1: These are the voices of the people who've lived it.
[0:24] Speaker 1: To settle in, because today you'll hear another account that
[0:27] Speaker 1: just might change the way you see the woods forever.
[0:30] Speaker 2: So stay with us, all.
[0:31] Speaker 1: Right, Big for Society, Welcome back to another episode. We've
[0:34] Speaker 1: got mister Matt Anderson on the show.
[0:36] Speaker 2: Today.
[0:38] Speaker 1: We got connected about a situation that Matt ran into
[0:42] Speaker 1: out there in northern Utah. Welcome to the show, Matt.
[0:45] Speaker 1: How are you doing today?
[0:47] Speaker 3: Thanks for having me. I'm doing great yourself.
[0:49] Speaker 1: Absolutely, It's actually not too cold out here in Iowa today,
[0:53] Speaker 1: so we're digging that. A few things about Matt that
[0:58] Speaker 1: listeners will want to know. He is an Army veteran.
[1:01] Speaker 1: Thank you for your service. Definitely with that, Matt. And also,
[1:05] Speaker 1: we were talking a little bit before the show how
[1:08] Speaker 1: he would categorize himself. And he's been into the Bigfoot
[1:13] Speaker 1: for about a year and he's kind of at the
[1:14] Speaker 1: point where enthusiast turned researcher, and there is that turning point,
[1:20] Speaker 1: so he's getting out there. You're actually getting out there
[1:23] Speaker 1: quite a bit. And we'll probably talk about that later.
[1:26] Speaker 1: But anything else that the listeners would would need to
[1:29] Speaker 1: know about you, Matt before we get started.
[1:31] Speaker 3: Well, so I've been doing the research on and off
[1:34] Speaker 3: for about a year, but I've been into the subject,
[1:38] Speaker 3: I don't know, since I was five, so probably close
[1:41] Speaker 3: to thirty years thirty five years, so ever since I
[1:44] Speaker 3: could read, I've been picking up and reading big Foot books.
[1:48] Speaker 1: Oh okay, was there a certain book that got you
[1:53] Speaker 1: hooked onto it or a movie or anything like that.
[1:55] Speaker 3: Well, I think, honestly, if I was honest, I think
[1:58] Speaker 3: it was my dad that got me turned on to it.
[2:00] Speaker 3: He had and in sort of an encounter he used
[2:03] Speaker 3: to cut Christmas trees back in the day, him and
[2:05] Speaker 3: my uncle did Christmas trees, and he told me the
[2:08] Speaker 3: story about that he him and my uncle smelled something
[2:12] Speaker 3: or heard something up in Billings, Montana, and ever since then,
[2:16] Speaker 3: I've been hooked, and I found books in the libraries
[2:19] Speaker 3: that talked about all the you know, the Albert Osman's
[2:22] Speaker 3: story and all those So I've I've been hooked since then,
[2:26] Speaker 3: and I think it's just recently I've been able to
[2:28] Speaker 3: actually get out and do more of a more actual
[2:32] Speaker 3: on the ground research and get into it more.
[2:35] Speaker 2: That's awesome.
[2:36] Speaker 1: Yeah, so you were into the classics from an early age.
[2:38] Speaker 1: I mean, the Albert Osman story is a definite classic
[2:43] Speaker 1: listeners check that out if you haven't already.
[2:46] Speaker 2: But was there a.
[2:46] Speaker 1: Thing that made you do the switch over to actually
[2:53] Speaker 1: starting to go out into the woods and the mountains
[2:57] Speaker 1: to see if you could figure out anything yourself.
[3:01] Speaker 3: I honestly think it it was probably my wife just
[3:06] Speaker 3: kind of given me the opportunity to go out and
[3:08] Speaker 3: do it. With doing my schedule used to be so
[3:11] Speaker 3: packed and everything that I never thought that I could
[3:13] Speaker 3: actually get out and do the things I wanted to do,
[3:16] Speaker 3: and she just she pushed. She's helped me do like
[3:19] Speaker 3: reach out and get my goals. And you know, ever
[3:21] Speaker 3: since I was little, my mom I had awards from
[3:25] Speaker 3: school you know, just uh, you know, bigfoot hunter and
[3:27] Speaker 3: stuff like that, and I just never thought it would
[3:30] Speaker 3: be possible for me to actually get out and do
[3:32] Speaker 3: the research. And she's pushed me to my goals and
[3:36] Speaker 3: has helped me and supported me along the way. So
[3:38] Speaker 3: I think that's that's pretty much what it has got
[3:42] Speaker 3: me out there to do, is like, you know, like
[3:44] Speaker 3: making believe anything's possible.
[3:45] Speaker 1: Now, I'm going to go ahead and pass the mic
[3:49] Speaker 1: over to you and and take us back to when
[3:52] Speaker 1: this particular encounter happened to you that you had shared
[3:57] Speaker 1: with me earlier.
[3:59] Speaker 3: All right, So there was two encounters that I had
[4:02] Speaker 3: in there, and they're both within ten miles of each other.
[4:07] Speaker 3: So the first one, I'm trying to remember the date exactly.
[4:09] Speaker 3: I think it was a fall of two thousand and four.
[4:15] Speaker 3: I was up with the girl that I was dating
[4:17] Speaker 3: at the time. We were up just driving around in
[4:20] Speaker 3: the back with the mountains, and so it got late
[4:23] Speaker 3: and we're leaving, you know, And I had to trying
[4:26] Speaker 3: to remember exactly that was while we were leaving, but
[4:29] Speaker 3: it was late. We were heading out and the road
[4:31] Speaker 3: that was on it switched backs. It like I think
[4:34] Speaker 3: you go up in almost five hundred feet in elevation
[4:37] Speaker 3: on the switchbacks, and I hit the first switchback coming up,
[4:41] Speaker 3: and at the time, I had a ninety six Bronco,
[4:43] Speaker 3: you know, and I had it straight pipe thought I
[4:45] Speaker 3: was cool and all that stuff in a loud truck.
[4:48] Speaker 3: So I was coming up driving fairly nice because she
[4:51] Speaker 3: didn't like it when I hot rotted it on dirt roads.
[4:54] Speaker 3: So I'm driving nice. They hit this switch back and
[4:56] Speaker 3: my headlights pat something I seen eye shine and you know,
[5:02] Speaker 3: always being into it, I was like, did I just think?
[5:04] Speaker 3: Did I see what I thought I seen? And so
[5:08] Speaker 3: I stopped and throw it in reverse and she's like, well,
[5:10] Speaker 3: can we just keep going? I was like, did you
[5:12] Speaker 3: see it? She said, yes, I seen it, and I'm
[5:14] Speaker 3: backing up trying to I want to and she starts
[5:16] Speaker 3: almost crying at this point, wanting to leave, and so
[5:21] Speaker 3: I start going out and she's like, hey, can we
[5:24] Speaker 3: go a little faster? And I was like, okay, So
[5:26] Speaker 3: I'm going faster, and by the time I got to
[5:28] Speaker 3: the point where it was fast enough for her, I
[5:31] Speaker 3: was doing sixty to sixty five miles an hour. And
[5:34] Speaker 3: I told her, I said, nothing's going to catch us
[5:36] Speaker 3: at this point because she's wanted to leave fast. It's
[5:39] Speaker 3: like there's nothing in North America that's gonna catch us.
[5:41] Speaker 3: You know, there's cheetahs an't here and we're not, you know.
[5:44] Speaker 3: And so we get out, and I think I talked
[5:47] Speaker 3: it to a couple people, and even to this day,
[5:50] Speaker 3: I don't think we've really even she's never talked about it.
[5:54] Speaker 3: Like I've talked about it with some people and she
[5:57] Speaker 3: kind of goes, yeah, you know, uh, never really brings
[6:00] Speaker 3: it up. But that happened. Then I've gone back into
[6:05] Speaker 3: the area and looked in the area and the creature
[6:09] Speaker 3: what it like. I'm pretty sure it was bigfoot. I
[6:11] Speaker 3: don't really like condum creatures, you know, because we know
[6:14] Speaker 3: what it is. He was probably about eight foot tall,
[6:19] Speaker 3: like if if you know, in that area. All I
[6:24] Speaker 3: seen was his face, and so it was a quick
[6:26] Speaker 3: glance because it had like just passing over his face
[6:29] Speaker 3: and he was not very happy that I was there.
[6:33] Speaker 3: What I can equate it to his facial expression was
[6:37] Speaker 3: the movie Grand Trina with Clint Eastwood when he's mad
[6:40] Speaker 3: scatting but they're on there lawn ah and like it
[6:44] Speaker 3: just like he had. Really I seen his face, like
[6:47] Speaker 3: his you can see kind of how I got a beard,
[6:50] Speaker 3: but his beard was higher, and you just seen his
[6:52] Speaker 3: eyes and he had more of a round it head,
[6:55] Speaker 3: not a conical head, which threw me off, you know,
[6:58] Speaker 3: because it's you hear these stories about the conical heads
[7:00] Speaker 3: all the time, and like trying to because I didn't
[7:05] Speaker 3: really want to say I blocked out of my mind.
[7:07] Speaker 3: But it just never got brought up, even though that
[7:10] Speaker 3: I was into the subject so much. And that was
[7:14] Speaker 3: two thousand and four, and so you know, I went
[7:17] Speaker 3: through life me and so I married that girl. We
[7:21] Speaker 3: ended up getting divorced, but we're still friends now and
[7:23] Speaker 3: so we kind of talked. I tried to talk to
[7:26] Speaker 3: her about it every now and then, but she just
[7:28] Speaker 3: doesn't really like bringing it up, so I leave it alone.
[7:32] Speaker 3: And then the next encounter I had was in twenty twenty.
[7:36] Speaker 3: I had taken everything was shut down and I was
[7:39] Speaker 3: getting my son into hunter safety. He was twelve at
[7:41] Speaker 3: the time. And the area that I was going so
[7:44] Speaker 3: he could take him out and do his shooting because
[7:47] Speaker 3: we had to take him out to film it and
[7:49] Speaker 3: do all these things with him. The area I wanted
[7:53] Speaker 3: to go to they had a gate, so we took
[7:55] Speaker 3: the side by side and there wasn't we didn't have
[7:57] Speaker 3: very much snow that year, and so I was able
[7:59] Speaker 3: to get it up pretty far with the side by
[8:01] Speaker 3: side and still be on the asphalt road. And I
[8:04] Speaker 3: took him into this spot and we did our shooting.
[8:06] Speaker 3: He did all this stuff he needed to do, so
[8:08] Speaker 3: I was like, all right, well we're done, let's let's
[8:10] Speaker 3: play around on the side by sides. We're playing in
[8:12] Speaker 3: the snow, and I want to go down this road
[8:15] Speaker 3: and nobody there's no tracks, so we're gonna be the
[8:18] Speaker 3: first people down there. And I just felt like I
[8:22] Speaker 3: shouldn't be going down there, like it was a main
[8:25] Speaker 3: like it's a main road, not a main road, but
[8:27] Speaker 3: a dirt road in the summertime. And there was probably
[8:29] Speaker 3: about a foot of snow. And then like, well, we'll
[8:31] Speaker 3: just turn around. We're head home, Like I just fell off.
[8:35] Speaker 3: So we start heading down back down the asphalt and
[8:37] Speaker 3: we got power lines that run through the mountains, and
[8:41] Speaker 3: you know, they cross over the roads and everything, and
[8:45] Speaker 3: I and we're getting black bears back in our area
[8:48] Speaker 3: and then passing this, uh this I wouldn't even call
[8:52] Speaker 3: it a meadow, but we're passing underneath the power lines
[8:54] Speaker 3: of where it's cut out and the power lines have
[8:57] Speaker 3: that fur fur furrol fare if you. I look up
[9:01] Speaker 3: to my right and I see something in it. At first,
[9:03] Speaker 3: I think it was a black bear, like standing up
[9:05] Speaker 3: next to a tree. So I said, oh, that's neat,
[9:08] Speaker 3: and I didn't say anything to him. But I start
[9:11] Speaker 3: looking again, I'm like, that wasn't a black bear. So
[9:13] Speaker 3: I had passed it. I stopped, put it reverse and
[9:17] Speaker 3: backed up. And as I'm backing up, I actually put
[9:20] Speaker 3: it the side by side in the ditch on accident,
[9:22] Speaker 3: trying to get back quick. So I tell my kid.
[9:25] Speaker 3: I said, hey, stay here. He's like okay, and he's like,
[9:29] Speaker 3: what do you doing. I was like, just stay here,
[9:30] Speaker 3: don't worry about it. So I get out and I
[9:32] Speaker 3: start walking up into the trees and I can see
[9:34] Speaker 3: it and the way it was kind of like I
[9:39] Speaker 3: described before as a reflective light. But that that doesn't
[9:42] Speaker 3: make sense now that I'm thinking about it. But you know,
[9:45] Speaker 3: as you're driving down the freeway, and I got those
[9:48] Speaker 3: billboards or whatever that as you're looking at it one way,
[9:51] Speaker 3: it says something. As you pass it another way, the
[9:53] Speaker 3: angles change. It's kind of looked like, really, I don't
[9:57] Speaker 3: want to say blocky but like a pixelated almost And
[10:00] Speaker 3: as I stand behind this tree, it wasn't a very
[10:03] Speaker 3: thick tree. It was enough to kind of cover my
[10:06] Speaker 3: mid section, but I could, like you did still see
[10:08] Speaker 3: me on the outside of it, Uh pull a rout.
[10:12] Speaker 3: Like I stand around this tree and it's standing broadside
[10:15] Speaker 3: to me, about fifty yards away, and you know, I
[10:18] Speaker 3: was like, uh, I kind of froze for a little bit.
[10:20] Speaker 3: And we're standing and standing each other i'd say five
[10:23] Speaker 3: ten seconds, and he let out a huff and all
[10:26] Speaker 3: like like he was standing in his ground like you know,
[10:29] Speaker 3: getting like tense and up, and I pulled my side
[10:32] Speaker 3: arm out and dropped back to my knee and uh,
[10:35] Speaker 3: like back behind the tree, and we're just standing there
[10:38] Speaker 3: looking at each other, and a and another one stepped
[10:44] Speaker 3: out in front of him in a protective manner, and
[10:47] Speaker 3: it I I can't you know, I don't know for sure,
[10:51] Speaker 3: but I think it was the one that I seen
[10:53] Speaker 3: in two thousand and four, Like it was his. He
[10:55] Speaker 3: was older, looked the facial everything looked the same. His
[10:59] Speaker 3: goatee was gray but thicker and like he at this point,
[11:04] Speaker 3: it looked like a His head looked like a conical head.
[11:08] Speaker 3: But I think it's because he had a receding hairline,
[11:10] Speaker 3: like it was going back, and his when he stepped
[11:14] Speaker 3: out in front his like the whole demeanor of the
[11:18] Speaker 3: situation changed, like everything just calmed down. Like the younger one.
[11:24] Speaker 3: I think it was like a father son or a
[11:26] Speaker 3: grandpa and son or grandpa and grandson, because the other one,
[11:30] Speaker 3: the younger one, was you can tell that he was
[11:33] Speaker 3: just more stout and more filled out. And you know,
[11:37] Speaker 3: he was a darker not a darker gray, but his
[11:40] Speaker 3: his skin was a gray and he was darker black
[11:44] Speaker 3: like his hair was. And when the older one stepped out,
[11:47] Speaker 3: he had a salt and pepper look like you could
[11:48] Speaker 3: just tell he was older. His goatee was bushy, and
[11:52] Speaker 3: he wrinkles in his face, and it looked like the
[11:55] Speaker 3: one that I seen earlier. And so like when the
[12:00] Speaker 3: situation calm down, and still sitting there on my knee
[12:03] Speaker 3: with my pistol, and like I felt like everything like
[12:07] Speaker 3: it wasn't gonna attack. Neither of them were gonna attack.
[12:09] Speaker 3: So I was like, oh, I need to take a picture.
[12:12] Speaker 3: And then I was like, oh, sorry, my kid has
[12:18] Speaker 3: my phone. Oh my kid's by himself and the side
[12:22] Speaker 3: by side, and so I retracted back down there. We
[12:26] Speaker 3: got in the side by side, or I got jumped
[12:27] Speaker 3: in and he was like, would you see and I
[12:29] Speaker 3: was like nothing, and I took off out of there.
[12:32] Speaker 3: I he knew something was up because I was going
[12:34] Speaker 3: down a lot faster down the mountain road than we
[12:37] Speaker 3: did coming up. So I took him back. I told
[12:41] Speaker 3: my wife, said, hey, I've seen something. I contacted the
[12:45] Speaker 3: guy that does he's been doing bigfoot research in Utah
[12:48] Speaker 3: for quite a while. He's like and he's he said,
[12:53] Speaker 3: I'm just leaving Logan now I can meet you back
[12:55] Speaker 3: up there in an hour, and I said okay. So
[12:57] Speaker 3: we went back up. I dropped my boy off, I
[13:01] Speaker 3: grabbed my rifle instead of just my side arm, just
[13:04] Speaker 3: just in case, you know. I went back up with
[13:07] Speaker 3: him and we went back to the area and documented.
[13:11] Speaker 3: So there was tracks and it looked like they were
[13:14] Speaker 3: walking in each other's tracks. And he told me that
[13:20] Speaker 3: he's seen it a lot, that they try to cover
[13:22] Speaker 3: how many are in their group. But they walked from
[13:26] Speaker 3: like from where I was standing trying to think. So
[13:29] Speaker 3: the road was going north and so I walked into
[13:32] Speaker 3: the east side of the going up east side of
[13:35] Speaker 3: the mountain, and so I was facing east and he
[13:37] Speaker 3: was facing west, and so the tracks came from the north,
[13:43] Speaker 3: wrapped around the trees and the power lines, and where
[13:46] Speaker 3: the power lines opened up, they skirted the edge of
[13:49] Speaker 3: the trees and walked down the hill like they were
[13:52] Speaker 3: walking down heading towards town, if you will. And they
[13:57] Speaker 3: went and we followed as far as we'd go until
[13:59] Speaker 3: they went into private broad and so we stopped there.
[14:02] Speaker 3: And then later on, like a week or two later,
[14:06] Speaker 3: I went back up and put up game cameras. It's
[14:10] Speaker 3: actually this time of year that that happened in twenty twenty,
[14:14] Speaker 3: so it was in December. I think it was December
[14:17] Speaker 3: fifth that the incident happened, if I remember correctly. So
[14:21] Speaker 3: we went up about this time of year in twenty
[14:23] Speaker 3: twenty and set up game cameras, but I think everything
[14:27] Speaker 3: was out of the area by that chant by that time. Wow,
[14:32] Speaker 3: that was that was those encounters.
[14:35] Speaker 1: Some wild stuff right off to bat Matt, My goodness,
[14:38] Speaker 1: are are we able to discuss it all?
[14:44] Speaker 3: Well?
[14:44] Speaker 1: I guess the areas where these two sightings happened. It
[14:50] Speaker 1: doesn't have to be super specific. If you don't want to.
[14:53] Speaker 3: Oh yeah, So it is a it's up Ogden Canyon
[14:57] Speaker 3: and you go up it's the Monte Crystal range of
[14:59] Speaker 3: the Wahsage mounta Ones and the area that the first
[15:02] Speaker 3: encounter happened is called Curtis Creek. And so the road
[15:06] Speaker 3: I was on it was right out of ARBs Basin
[15:10] Speaker 3: and Curtis Creek is down further, like it's just Curtis
[15:12] Speaker 3: Creek Road. That's kind of what it's known as in
[15:14] Speaker 3: this area. And I'm trying to remember the name of
[15:18] Speaker 3: that highway that goes up there. It's everybody calls it
[15:24] Speaker 3: like it's up by Aunt Flat Road. It connects Weaver
[15:28] Speaker 3: Canyon or Ogden Canyon, sorry to Logan Canyon. Ant Flat
[15:33] Speaker 3: Road does. And I've thought to a lot of people
[15:35] Speaker 3: and they get weird. They don't say bigfoot, They're like, yeah,
[15:38] Speaker 3: something's throwing rocks at me. So that area has stuff
[15:43] Speaker 3: happening in it, and I go up there quite a bit.
[15:48] Speaker 3: It's also near let's see, it's it's close to Snow
[15:52] Speaker 3: Basin Ski Resort, sorry, not snow based in Powder Mountain.
[15:56] Speaker 3: So if anybody knows what that area is, it's in
[15:59] Speaker 3: that area above of Pineview Reservoir.
[16:03] Speaker 1: Gotcha, and it sounds like it's a pretty active area.
[16:08] Speaker 1: I did a quick search and there's bfros BFROL reports
[16:14] Speaker 1: in this range going all the way back to seventy
[16:18] Speaker 1: seven for sightings, which is pretty cool that there have been.
[16:24] Speaker 1: There's a sighting in seventy seven, there's one in ninety nine,
[16:29] Speaker 1: very very cool stuff. So the area where you had
[16:36] Speaker 1: the visual in two thousand and four and then the
[16:39] Speaker 1: area in twenty twenty, how far away from each other
[16:43] Speaker 1: are those areas.
[16:45] Speaker 3: As the crow flies. I would say probably ten miles,
[16:51] Speaker 3: but like if you're on the road fall on the road,
[16:53] Speaker 3: you're probably close to fifteen maybe, Yeah, So they're not
[16:58] Speaker 3: very far apart. It's very close in proximity of each
[17:03] Speaker 3: other where they're at.
[17:06] Speaker 1: Gotcha. With the two thousand and four visual you had
[17:09] Speaker 1: used the you had used the idea of like it
[17:15] Speaker 1: looked like Clint Eastwood in Grand Tarino. And was that
[17:19] Speaker 1: because of the emotion it was conveying or because it
[17:22] Speaker 1: actually had some very human like features to the face.
[17:26] Speaker 3: I'd say a little bit of both. It was the
[17:28] Speaker 3: emotions that it put off, but it was very I'd
[17:31] Speaker 3: say it was. And with my encounters. I know everybody's
[17:34] Speaker 3: had different encounters on what they look like, but I
[17:37] Speaker 3: have a hard time when everybody says that they're it
[17:39] Speaker 3: was an ape like, but it so because what I
[17:43] Speaker 3: seen was very human like. It was the the emotions,
[17:46] Speaker 3: the scal like and I didn't see much of the
[17:49] Speaker 3: lips because it was covered in hair and it it
[17:51] Speaker 3: looked like a beard, not like like fur, you know,
[17:55] Speaker 3: it was it was a beard and he had the
[17:58] Speaker 3: you know, the the froud brow and it was very human.
[18:06] Speaker 3: So that's as much as it looked human.
[18:10] Speaker 2: Gotcha?
[18:11] Speaker 1: How many seconds and all would you say the two
[18:13] Speaker 1: thousand and four to one last lasted?
[18:17] Speaker 3: I'd say five, like cause I was I was doing
[18:20] Speaker 3: probably twenty five around the bend, maybe slower, but it
[18:23] Speaker 3: was just my headlights passed it and I seen it,
[18:26] Speaker 3: and I watched until the headlights passed, my head turned
[18:29] Speaker 3: and then I hit the brakes. Well, I mean this
[18:31] Speaker 3: sight sighting scene, it was about five seconds, but we
[18:35] Speaker 3: were down there for probably twenty thirty me backing up
[18:39] Speaker 3: trying to get back to see it, and my girlfriend
[18:42] Speaker 3: at the time, like we were going back and forth
[18:44] Speaker 3: about trying to get back up over there. So i'd
[18:47] Speaker 3: only backed up. I probably drove past the site for
[18:50] Speaker 3: about twenty thirty feet and I only backed up probably fifteen.
[18:53] Speaker 1: Gotcha, did it seem to be doing anything when you
[18:58] Speaker 1: first had the vision of it? Was it doing any actions?
[19:02] Speaker 3: He just standing there staring like I'm sure the feeling
[19:07] Speaker 3: that I got is that he was mad that I
[19:08] Speaker 3: was there, like I was disrupting his peace, Like because
[19:13] Speaker 3: my truck was loud, I was. I wasn't driving fast.
[19:17] Speaker 3: I feel like I was driving fast for the conditions.
[19:19] Speaker 3: I shouldn't have been driving as fast as I was,
[19:22] Speaker 3: especially on that road end at night. But like that's
[19:27] Speaker 3: how I just felt like he was like like dang kids,
[19:30] Speaker 3: you know, or like you know, like someone's hot rodding
[19:33] Speaker 3: down my road. That's what it felt like.
[19:37] Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely, man, that's that is so so weird. For
[19:43] Speaker 1: the twenty twenty sighting where you had the visual of
[19:48] Speaker 1: one by the tree, it sounds like it's kind of
[19:50] Speaker 1: a similar experience that it was just standing there alhen
[19:55] Speaker 1: I first saw.
[19:55] Speaker 3: It, Yeah, when I because when I rounded this the
[19:59] Speaker 3: location with on a bend, it come around and it bent,
[20:04] Speaker 3: and uh, I was just kind of looking, you know,
[20:06] Speaker 3: just watching and I seen it and it when I
[20:09] Speaker 3: first seen it, because I thought it was a like
[20:12] Speaker 3: a black bear scratching its back on the tree. That's
[20:15] Speaker 3: what I thought. And then it looked harder and looked
[20:17] Speaker 3: looked back like that's not a black bear like it was.
[20:21] Speaker 3: It was massive. The first creature or the first big foot,
[20:25] Speaker 3: he was probably eight and a half foot and like
[20:30] Speaker 3: the the younger one, I guess, I'll say I refering
[20:33] Speaker 3: to the younger one, he was probably eight and a
[20:35] Speaker 3: half foot. The older one was a little shorter, but
[20:37] Speaker 3: it looked like he was kind of a I wouldn't
[20:40] Speaker 3: say hunchback, but like not as not as proud. I
[20:45] Speaker 3: guess that's like, you know, he didn't have his shoulders
[20:47] Speaker 3: held his high, but he was just as wide. You know.
[20:50] Speaker 3: It looked like a piece of plywood sitting there just
[20:52] Speaker 3: there they were. They were massive. Uh. And when I
[20:57] Speaker 3: I refer it to, uh, do you know who Brian
[20:59] Speaker 3: Shaw is world strong man?
[21:02] Speaker 2: I believe so.
[21:03] Speaker 3: Yeah, that's like his stature is what it reminded me of.
[21:06] Speaker 3: Is it just how big he was and the muscle
[21:09] Speaker 3: density like you like, and I think and like when
[21:14] Speaker 3: I'm looking thinking back on it, you couldn't really see
[21:17] Speaker 3: too much of skin. You could see gray underlinings, but
[21:21] Speaker 3: it felt like maybe they had a winter coat on
[21:23] Speaker 3: or something like. The skin the hair was thicker and
[21:28] Speaker 3: it was just like, you know, it was thick on
[21:30] Speaker 3: the chest and throughout the whole body. But you could
[21:32] Speaker 3: see you could see things, you know, but it was
[21:37] Speaker 3: they were just muscle like. The younger one was more
[21:41] Speaker 3: defined and muscle wise. The older one you could tell
[21:44] Speaker 3: that he wasn't it wasn't as defined, but he was
[21:47] Speaker 3: still had a lot of muscle density.
[21:51] Speaker 2: M gotcha. M.
[21:56] Speaker 1: You had mentioned that it kind of looked black slash pixelated. Yeah,
[22:03] Speaker 1: can you can you go into that a little bit more?
[22:06] Speaker 1: I find that really interesting going off of other things
[22:10] Speaker 1: I've heard.
[22:11] Speaker 3: Yeah, it's kind of hard to explain. For me to
[22:16] Speaker 3: explain it, I'm not very good with words. But it
[22:18] Speaker 3: just looked when I was behind the tree and trying
[22:21] Speaker 3: to look at him without getting like full frontal, because
[22:24] Speaker 3: I was kind of hiding from trade to tree, and
[22:28] Speaker 3: when I went like when I stepped out, it looked
[22:32] Speaker 3: like he just maybe like turned maybe he wasn't full
[22:36] Speaker 3: uh broadside to me, and it kind of Yeah, it's
[22:42] Speaker 3: it's like the like a mirror. And that's when I said,
[22:44] Speaker 3: a reflective light like a mirror, turning like you're seeing
[22:47] Speaker 3: the full picture of it now. And uh, I've talked
[22:50] Speaker 3: to a couple other guys that are like, oh, he
[22:52] Speaker 3: was probably cloaking like Predator, and it wouldn't say it
[23:00] Speaker 3: kind of looked like that from the movies, but I
[23:03] Speaker 3: wouldn't say one percent. Yeah, he was cloaking like it.
[23:08] Speaker 3: It looked like like like mirror ish if you will,
[23:11] Speaker 3: until I went full so we were brought broadside to
[23:13] Speaker 3: each other, and then it was full on. You know,
[23:17] Speaker 3: I could see everything.
[23:18] Speaker 1: That's really interesting, So just to check a few things.
[23:23] Speaker 1: So are you saying like when it wasn't Yeah, that
[23:26] Speaker 1: is a really hard concept to grasp. So at one
[23:30] Speaker 1: point then were you able to see half through it
[23:33] Speaker 1: or just not all the details in a way.
[23:36] Speaker 3: I'd say not all the details. I wouldn't say all
[23:37] Speaker 3: the way through it, like kind of you know when
[23:42] Speaker 3: someone holds like they got those they set up mirrors
[23:46] Speaker 3: to make a what they call it like camouflage, where
[23:52] Speaker 3: they set up mirror so it just looks like the
[23:54] Speaker 3: rest of everything. That's kind of the best way that
[23:57] Speaker 3: I can describe it. That's what it looked like. So
[24:01] Speaker 3: I wouldn't even say it was half mirror and half
[24:05] Speaker 3: cloaking like predator looking kind of thing, because I could
[24:08] Speaker 3: see and I don't know if it was just me
[24:11] Speaker 3: trying to comprehend everything that was going on but uh,
[24:17] Speaker 3: or if he was just standing weird and then when
[24:19] Speaker 3: I went broadside of him, he went broadside to me
[24:23] Speaker 3: and it was just full on, you know, full on site. Wow.
[24:28] Speaker 1: That that is really fascinating. And I mean there's depending
[24:32] Speaker 1: on what it actually is, there's different ways to look
[24:36] Speaker 1: at that. I mean, if you take the physical creatures side,
[24:40] Speaker 1: I mean, there are other animals in this world where
[24:43] Speaker 1: they can make themselves invisible or you know, camouflage like
[24:48] Speaker 1: an octopus can camouflage immediately, right, So there are other
[24:52] Speaker 1: things that can do that. But then you have, you know,
[24:55] Speaker 1: maybe more the paranormal side, where you know you're looking into, Okay,
[25:00] Speaker 1: can this thing do things like cloaking like you had said,
[25:03] Speaker 1: or is it you know, halfway in a portal or
[25:06] Speaker 1: is it coming out of a portal? You know, And
[25:08] Speaker 1: we don't know because we haven't been able to to uh,
[25:11] Speaker 1: to really study them in the way that would need
[25:15] Speaker 1: to be studied to figure that out. So it is
[25:19] Speaker 1: a fascinating encounter because I think the main, the main
[25:23] Speaker 1: part of it that really fascinates me is that you
[25:26] Speaker 1: were able to see something happen, and we don't know
[25:32] Speaker 1: if it's because of what the creature was doing or
[25:35] Speaker 1: because of maybe the position that you were looking at
[25:39] Speaker 1: and you were changing positions. Is so many questions that
[25:42] Speaker 1: come from from this one encounter, you know.
[25:44] Speaker 3: Yeah, And I never even thought about the portal thing
[25:49] Speaker 3: until you just said that because the older one, I
[25:52] Speaker 3: didn't see him until he stepped out in front of him,
[25:54] Speaker 3: like even my peripherals or anything. And but I've always
[25:58] Speaker 3: thought that maybe because I was so focused on that one,
[26:01] Speaker 3: I had tunnel vision on him, so I didn't I
[26:04] Speaker 3: never seen him until he stepped out in front.
[26:07] Speaker 1: Yeah, that's tricky too, because it's like, could be portal.
[26:12] Speaker 1: But I mean, if you have I'm sure you've seen
[26:16] Speaker 1: pictures of like a mountain lion in camouflage or like
[26:21] Speaker 1: a what is it? I saw one of an owl
[26:24] Speaker 1: against a tree and it was like you would never
[26:26] Speaker 1: know it was there until it started moving. Wild wild stuff.
[26:32] Speaker 1: So it's It's cool because it could be the encounter
[26:36] Speaker 1: could be taken either way.
[26:39] Speaker 2: That one part.
[26:40] Speaker 1: Now you mentioned that you've you've been able to meet
[26:44] Speaker 1: this another researcher, that is much more. I mean, it
[26:49] Speaker 1: sounds like this researcher has been into this for multiple
[26:54] Speaker 1: multiple years.
[26:56] Speaker 3: Yeah, I think he's been doing it for twenty plus years.
[26:59] Speaker 2: Wow.
[26:59] Speaker 3: Here he does a lot of stuff up in Deadwood.
[27:02] Speaker 1: Also absolutely Now based on conversations with him after that happened,
[27:11] Speaker 1: or maybe your own research, have you heard of any
[27:14] Speaker 1: other experiences in this area where a similar thing happens
[27:20] Speaker 1: where you know it kind of has this this weird
[27:24] Speaker 1: BLOCKI or pixelated thing happened.
[27:27] Speaker 3: I haven't heard too much of the pixelater of the
[27:30] Speaker 3: blocky thing happened. But when I was talking to him
[27:33] Speaker 3: in two when I'm trying to remember, I met him
[27:36] Speaker 3: in twenty sixteen and we talked about my first encounter
[27:40] Speaker 3: and his friend that he had with him. Halfway through
[27:44] Speaker 3: describing what I seen, he stopped and then finished describing it.
[27:49] Speaker 3: So he we believe we've seen the same creature. It's
[27:52] Speaker 3: in the same area, like the same Monte Cristo area.
[27:55] Speaker 3: He was just further in off the pavement than I
[27:58] Speaker 3: was when he's seen it, and he said that he
[28:02] Speaker 3: was setting up his tent and stood up and it
[28:05] Speaker 3: was looking it was on the other side of the tent,
[28:07] Speaker 3: looking at him. Then casually it was like not kneeling, kneeling,
[28:12] Speaker 3: and it stood up and casually walked away.
[28:15] Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, I can't imagine that. I mean, that's
[28:18] Speaker 1: that's literally feet away. Yeah right, I mean unless your
[28:21] Speaker 1: tent is massive, which most people are not going to
[28:23] Speaker 1: have a massive tent out there, I would imagine.
[28:25] Speaker 3: But oh so, and talking to like when I started
[28:32] Speaker 3: actually getting into the research, had to just you know,
[28:34] Speaker 3: listen to the stories, which I love listening to the stories,
[28:37] Speaker 3: like you know, all the podcasts out there and every
[28:40] Speaker 3: I loved listening to people's and counter stories. When I
[28:43] Speaker 3: started actually doing research and talking to people, people have
[28:47] Speaker 3: described the same bigfoot that I've seen throughout the entire
[28:52] Speaker 3: wastage Front from Idaho down into Beaver And that's two
[28:57] Speaker 3: three hundred mile range.
[29:01] Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that puts a whole different spin on it.
[29:03] Speaker 3: Then my theory is on it. I've heard story or
[29:09] Speaker 3: not stories, but tell of like a seven year cycle
[29:12] Speaker 3: with the wildlife, right, I don't know if you've heard
[29:14] Speaker 3: about that. I feel like they just follow the food
[29:18] Speaker 3: and they don't overeat the area that they're in. They
[29:21] Speaker 3: just keep moving. They're kind of a nomad, and so
[29:26] Speaker 3: I think maybe they were back in the area when
[29:28] Speaker 3: I seen them in twenty twenty and they're just coming
[29:31] Speaker 3: down into the lower elevation for food, like because it
[29:34] Speaker 3: was two males possibly hunting, you know, looking for food.
[29:39] Speaker 3: And that's my theory because they've been seen from Idaho
[29:43] Speaker 3: down to Beaver throughout the entire wash Age range. And
[29:47] Speaker 3: I don't know if it's the same ones or different
[29:50] Speaker 3: families or different clans or however they operate.
[29:54] Speaker 1: Okay, can you explain a little more of what the
[29:58] Speaker 1: seven years cycle is?
[30:01] Speaker 3: I can try, and I'm not even I've just heard,
[30:04] Speaker 3: you know, my dad and old farmers talk about it.
[30:06] Speaker 3: So the seven year cycle is like the food in
[30:10] Speaker 3: the area goes through a seven year cycle, like they'll
[30:13] Speaker 3: eat this area and so they don't stay in this
[30:16] Speaker 3: area the entire time. They'll move on kind of like
[30:19] Speaker 3: regenerated regenerative farming, So you move the animals from one
[30:24] Speaker 3: area two different areas so they don't overeat it and
[30:27] Speaker 3: you don't bring them back to that area for a while,
[30:29] Speaker 3: So like those animals don't come back into this area
[30:32] Speaker 3: for another seven years or something like that. If I
[30:35] Speaker 3: think that's how it goes.
[30:37] Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, that makes sense. So if the the food
[30:41] Speaker 1: source moves, then the predators are going to move as well.
[30:46] Speaker 1: Okay yeah, and that that lines up where you and
[30:48] Speaker 1: I've talked to a few hunters out in the will
[30:51] Speaker 1: LaMotte National Forest near Oakridge, Oregon, and I mean they
[30:57] Speaker 1: they were able to show me on maps.
[30:59] Speaker 2: It was crazy.
[31:00] Speaker 1: They were like, this is where the l Kurds are
[31:02] Speaker 1: here here here at this time, and this is where
[31:05] Speaker 1: all the bigfoot sightings are happening. So it's like you
[31:08] Speaker 1: can see the Bigfoot pretty much following the l Kurds
[31:11] Speaker 1: as they move around.
[31:13] Speaker 2: Crazy crazy stuff.
[31:16] Speaker 1: Are you at the point, Matt, where people are are
[31:19] Speaker 1: coming to you or you are able to talk to
[31:23] Speaker 1: other witnesses in the area about their encounters they're having.
[31:28] Speaker 3: I'm trying to and I've got some people lined up
[31:31] Speaker 3: do some interviews. I started my own little research channel,
[31:37] Speaker 3: face or a YouTube channel and stuff. This last year
[31:41] Speaker 3: has been hectic because of work and stuff like that.
[31:43] Speaker 3: And I told my wife this year, I'm doing one
[31:46] Speaker 3: hundred percent into the YouTube and the research. I'm doing
[31:49] Speaker 3: the stuff. So this year I've got people lined up
[31:53] Speaker 3: to do interviews. I've had a couple interviews last year
[31:56] Speaker 3: with a couple guys from Montana, some friends that I
[31:59] Speaker 3: have up there. So that's that's the end goal is
[32:04] Speaker 3: to get more interviews and more people talking about it.
[32:07] Speaker 2: That's awesome.
[32:08] Speaker 1: I would recommend you know, just to decide if you're
[32:11] Speaker 1: able to have people actually come on camera for interview.
[32:16] Speaker 1: I think that is. I mean, I've started to do
[32:19] Speaker 1: it myself as we're doing now, but I think it's
[32:21] Speaker 1: it's one of the most powerful things because you know,
[32:25] Speaker 1: someone who stumbles onto your channel, they can be like, oh,
[32:28] Speaker 1: this is an actual, real person, not AI, not some
[32:32] Speaker 1: weird computer voice, like this is an actual person, and
[32:36] Speaker 1: they are. You can see their emotions and how they
[32:39] Speaker 1: were affected by this. So uh, it'd be it'll be
[32:43] Speaker 1: fun to see where your channel goes, and I'll make
[32:46] Speaker 1: sure to have that linked in the description for this.
[32:49] Speaker 1: But what what is your goal through all of the
[32:53] Speaker 1: you know, bigfoot research and fieldwork that you're starting to do.
[32:58] Speaker 3: The end goal in the in the research all this
[33:00] Speaker 3: is to prove that he exists, right, you know, whether
[33:02] Speaker 3: there's something out there. But for me, I think the
[33:05] Speaker 3: only way that you're gonna be able to prove it
[33:06] Speaker 3: is a body. But I am also I'm I'm against
[33:12] Speaker 3: you know, killing of the Bigfoot, but I think that's
[33:14] Speaker 3: the only way you're gonna be able to do it because
[33:16] Speaker 3: there's been so many people out there that have I
[33:19] Speaker 3: feel like, have proven that have evidence, you know, DNA
[33:22] Speaker 3: evidence through hair or something like that, and then all
[33:25] Speaker 3: of a sudden, like it's gone, oh we lost your
[33:27] Speaker 3: thing or it, you know, it gets covered up somehow.
[33:31] Speaker 3: But even then, I think even if you had a body,
[33:34] Speaker 3: it would get covered up. So it's you know, the
[33:38] Speaker 3: end goal is to prove that show some sort of existence,
[33:42] Speaker 3: whether it's you know, uh, DNA evidence, footprints, or even
[33:46] Speaker 3: it's also just a fun way for me to get
[33:48] Speaker 3: out into the woods and just you know, reconnect with
[33:53] Speaker 3: the woods. And I don't have fun. I enjoyed doing it.
[33:57] Speaker 3: And it's also there for a little bit I did
[33:59] Speaker 3: struggle with PTSD, so this has helped me get past
[34:03] Speaker 3: some of those hurdles and stuff like that.
[34:06] Speaker 1: Absolutely, when you've been out in the areas where you
[34:12] Speaker 1: are researching and trying to have encounters, etc. Have you
[34:17] Speaker 1: experienced any other weird things out there that are kind
[34:20] Speaker 1: of outside the realm of being normal?
[34:25] Speaker 3: There was It was the weekend after Thanksgiving. I was
[34:30] Speaker 3: in a different area up Logan Canyon, and this is
[34:33] Speaker 3: probably a forty to fifty mile as a crow flies
[34:36] Speaker 3: distance away. I went up there just to kind of
[34:40] Speaker 3: drive around and do some research, but I didn't realize
[34:46] Speaker 3: how many people go up and cut Christmas trees down.
[34:49] Speaker 3: So it was I got up there at like five
[34:50] Speaker 3: o'clock in the morning, got up into this area that
[34:53] Speaker 3: I've been trying to get to for the past couple
[34:55] Speaker 3: of years, and I have a modified Moronco that I
[34:58] Speaker 3: take up. I was able to get into it this
[35:01] Speaker 3: area because the cup past couple of times, It's kind
[35:04] Speaker 3: of it felt like the universe was stopping me. I
[35:06] Speaker 3: got up there a couple of years ago and my
[35:08] Speaker 3: transmission was overheating and puking out transmission fluid, so I
[35:12] Speaker 3: had to turn around go home. The next time I
[35:15] Speaker 3: went up, I went up with my brother and our
[35:17] Speaker 3: side by side and I didn't put fuel in it
[35:20] Speaker 3: before we last left camp, and I didn't realize it
[35:22] Speaker 3: until we got to the turnoff to get to this area.
[35:25] Speaker 3: The fuel light was flashing, so we had to turn
[35:26] Speaker 3: around and go back, and by the time we got
[35:29] Speaker 3: fuel in it, the temperature dropped so bad that my
[35:32] Speaker 3: battery went bad and the side by side wouldn't stay running.
[35:37] Speaker 3: So I got up there, and I was really excited
[35:39] Speaker 3: to get up there. Started walking around and something fell off.
[35:44] Speaker 3: It was about the same thing that I had when
[35:46] Speaker 3: I was in when I took my boy out. And
[35:51] Speaker 3: so I'm walking around just kind of talking and talking
[35:54] Speaker 3: to the camera, you know, talking about footprints. Because I
[35:56] Speaker 3: was going over I seen it was probably an elk
[35:59] Speaker 3: track or something like that. So I walked next to
[36:01] Speaker 3: it to show what footprints and everything looked like. And
[36:04] Speaker 3: then I was turning around. I walked, you know, in
[36:07] Speaker 3: the uh in the big footway of one foot right
[36:10] Speaker 3: in front of the other and trying to stride out,
[36:13] Speaker 3: showing how difficult it is and what it looks like
[36:15] Speaker 3: between a regular, you know, regular human walking. And then
[36:20] Speaker 3: I just felt like I was being watched and there's
[36:23] Speaker 3: something And then I started heading back towards the truck,
[36:27] Speaker 3: and without even noticing it, I was whispering to the
[36:29] Speaker 3: camera and kind of jogging from chee to tree, and
[36:32] Speaker 3: I realized I was doing it, and so I stopped,
[36:36] Speaker 3: and then I was hearing I wouldn't even say it
[36:37] Speaker 3: was footprints. It was like trees cracking or something like
[36:42] Speaker 3: something moving around. But I couldn't hear footprints or something walking,
[36:47] Speaker 3: but I could hear something in the trees almost. I
[36:50] Speaker 3: really wanted to stay, because that's what you know, that's
[36:53] Speaker 3: what we're out there for, to find things like that.
[36:55] Speaker 3: But I was by myself, and I was it was.
[36:58] Speaker 3: I was too creeped out to do it by myself.
[37:01] Speaker 3: So I got back in the truck and on the
[37:05] Speaker 3: way back out, I damaged the front end of my
[37:08] Speaker 3: Bronco and I couldn't unlock my hubs, and so I
[37:11] Speaker 3: couldn't drive home. I had to wait for a trailer
[37:13] Speaker 3: to come up the next day, so I had to
[37:15] Speaker 3: stay the night up there, and I switched everything over
[37:19] Speaker 3: from summer to winter, like I get on my I
[37:21] Speaker 3: always have a tent in there. So I had to
[37:22] Speaker 3: stay the night, and I'm sure this was my mind
[37:25] Speaker 3: playing tricks on me, but throughout the night I kept
[37:27] Speaker 3: waking up and hearing things but I think about four
[37:31] Speaker 3: o'clock in the morning it started snowing, and so I
[37:35] Speaker 3: think it was the snow coming down and just you know,
[37:38] Speaker 3: baronic pressure changing things. And yeah, it was kind of
[37:42] Speaker 3: I didn't get very much sleep because I kept hearing
[37:44] Speaker 3: things and it could have just been me amped up
[37:47] Speaker 3: and thinking that I was hearing things too.
[37:49] Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, that story could have ended way differently
[37:53] Speaker 1: if you hadn't been prepared like that. Wow ooh, that's
[38:00] Speaker 1: a great example for anyone that's listening that is, like
[38:05] Speaker 1: I'm gonna go out with a buddy or whatever and
[38:09] Speaker 1: try to find Bigfoot. You need to be prepared for
[38:12] Speaker 1: anything to happen. And I mean, you had a tent
[38:15] Speaker 1: with you. How many people are bringing a tent with
[38:17] Speaker 1: them just in case? I mean, I don't think a
[38:19] Speaker 1: lot like that's wild that.
[38:22] Speaker 3: Comes from experience, because I've had a sleep in the
[38:23] Speaker 3: truck before because of things like that. So I was like, well, Okay,
[38:27] Speaker 3: I'm going to pack the things I know i'm gonna
[38:29] Speaker 3: need just in case. And my wife really hates it
[38:32] Speaker 3: when I go out by myself. And so when I
[38:35] Speaker 3: got home, you know, kind of I told you.
[38:39] Speaker 2: That's funny.
[38:41] Speaker 1: Is there an account that sticks out that you've been
[38:44] Speaker 1: told around the area that you found interesting to hear.
[38:50] Speaker 3: Yeah. So that same guy that I that I refer
[38:52] Speaker 3: into that does the research, he does his own channel.
[38:55] Speaker 3: It's a Rocky Mountain Sasquatch organization. And I was listening
[39:01] Speaker 3: to him one day. I was just getting like I
[39:04] Speaker 3: was getting ready for work or something, and so we
[39:06] Speaker 3: had he was just telling a story, and so he
[39:09] Speaker 3: was talking about this guy that was up Logan Canyon
[39:12] Speaker 3: in a place called Tony's Grove and where I stayed
[39:14] Speaker 3: the night. In Tony's Grove, they're probably about ten fifteen
[39:18] Speaker 3: miles apart from each other, if I remember correctly. So
[39:21] Speaker 3: he was talking about this guy that was and I
[39:25] Speaker 3: think it was probably the late eighties, early nineties, I
[39:29] Speaker 3: don't know the timeframe about. You know, he's up there
[39:34] Speaker 3: elk hunting and so something's messing with him. There's a
[39:37] Speaker 3: bigfoot that's messing with him. So they moved to Curtis
[39:40] Speaker 3: Creek to get away from whatever it was, and it
[39:43] Speaker 3: followed him over to Curtis Creek, and Curtis Creek is
[39:48] Speaker 3: where I had my first encounter. So he's telling the
[39:50] Speaker 3: story and he mentions the guy's name, He's like, I
[39:55] Speaker 3: know that name, and then just knowing who the guy
[39:57] Speaker 3: is and where he worked, it was uh my ex wife,
[40:02] Speaker 3: the girl that was with me the first time. It
[40:04] Speaker 3: was her best friend's dad that had the encounter, and
[40:07] Speaker 3: so I had spent this guy got me, the guy
[40:11] Speaker 3: that he's taking got me in. Dell cunning never told
[40:13] Speaker 3: me the story at all, never talked about it, you know,
[40:16] Speaker 3: and I've been he knew I was into Bigfoot, but
[40:19] Speaker 3: maybe he didn't know I was into it that much
[40:20] Speaker 3: where I would have enjoyed that story, but I never
[40:22] Speaker 3: heard it from him. So that's the account that I got.
[40:25] Speaker 3: And like just the fact that it followed him, and
[40:29] Speaker 3: you know, I always hear you know, people like I'm
[40:31] Speaker 3: morey that's gonna follow me home or whatever, that it
[40:33] Speaker 3: followed him. That's that's very interesting to me that that
[40:37] Speaker 3: happened and it harassed him that long of a distance
[40:40] Speaker 3: away and everything like that.
[40:42] Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, that's that's wild. So that's uh Kelly
[40:45] Speaker 1: Shaw our mso channel right that guy. So you're saying
[40:49] Speaker 1: that's just when you watched or are you saying that
[40:52] Speaker 1: you actually hang out with Kelly.
[40:54] Speaker 3: Kelly is the one that went up with me to
[40:56] Speaker 3: do the do the research and everything like that. Oh no, way,
[41:00] Speaker 3: So I talked to Kelly. I won't to say quite
[41:03] Speaker 3: a bit, but you know, every now and then, when
[41:05] Speaker 3: I'll have like a thought, I'll run it past him
[41:08] Speaker 3: and you know he's gonna We've done a little clab
[41:12] Speaker 3: every here. Every now and then, we've done stuff together,
[41:15] Speaker 3: but not too much. But I like Kelly. He's a
[41:18] Speaker 3: good guy. Yeah.
[41:19] Speaker 1: I have not talked to him yet. I need to
[41:22] Speaker 1: maybe put him on the list, reach out to him.
[41:25] Speaker 1: So are you saying, so did you just reach out
[41:28] Speaker 1: to him one day after hearing something on the channel
[41:31] Speaker 1: and be like, hey, let's say.
[41:34] Speaker 3: Twenty sixteen, I was. I That's what I think is
[41:41] Speaker 3: when I decided to actually start doing more research and
[41:44] Speaker 3: looking out. And so I went on one of the
[41:46] Speaker 3: Facebook hunting clubs or hunting pages and asked, Hey, has
[41:50] Speaker 3: anybody had any weird encounters? You know? And of course
[41:53] Speaker 3: you're gonna get laughed at and mocked out, which you've
[41:55] Speaker 3: got to have thick skin if you're doing what we
[41:57] Speaker 3: do right. Right, So people we're saying things and then
[42:01] Speaker 3: someone's like, hey, tag me and Kelly together and then
[42:06] Speaker 3: I'm trying to remember exactly. He sent me a YouTube
[42:10] Speaker 3: video to listen to about a guy up in Washington.
[42:13] Speaker 3: So I listened to that and then I told him,
[42:15] Speaker 3: I said, oh, that's awesome. I said, I had dis encounter,
[42:18] Speaker 3: and we went up and did Wike went back to
[42:21] Speaker 3: my encounter area in two thousand and four and we
[42:23] Speaker 3: talked about that. And then we've just been kind of
[42:26] Speaker 3: talking here and there since twenty sixteen, so you know,
[42:30] Speaker 3: every now and then all talk to him, and you know,
[42:33] Speaker 3: we did another kind of a clab. My recording stuff
[42:38] Speaker 3: that I did on it was not very good, like
[42:40] Speaker 3: my sound went out. I was using an old phone,
[42:42] Speaker 3: so I didn't end up getting a video. My stuff
[42:45] Speaker 3: didn't work. We went to a place called Hearts Grabble.
[42:48] Speaker 3: It is behind it is Morgan County, but it's on
[42:52] Speaker 3: the east side of the Wasatch Front and there's a
[42:55] Speaker 3: lot of stuff that happens there, but it's all private
[42:57] Speaker 3: property and I had access for a day. So we
[43:00] Speaker 3: went up there and was checking things out. When I'm
[43:04] Speaker 3: up in the mountains, you know, like I so my
[43:09] Speaker 3: I don't know, you know, if you're not doing stories
[43:11] Speaker 3: like this, if you're just up looking and I don't
[43:13] Speaker 3: know if you feel like I've tried to watch people's
[43:17] Speaker 3: channel and it's not nothing against them, but walking around
[43:20] Speaker 3: in the trees looking for bigfoot can get kind of boring,
[43:24] Speaker 3: you know, watching the videos, which if with my attention span,
[43:28] Speaker 3: I have a little ADHD, I wrap other things in
[43:31] Speaker 3: my video, like off road and I'll do cooking, and
[43:34] Speaker 3: so there's times that I've been out doing things. I'll
[43:37] Speaker 3: because my Broncos set up for off road things. So
[43:39] Speaker 3: I've had big old wench and all this stuff on it,
[43:42] Speaker 3: and I run into people and I'll you know, they'll
[43:45] Speaker 3: they'll be stuck on the side of the road or
[43:47] Speaker 3: something like that, and I'll help them out and I'll
[43:49] Speaker 3: get them out and they're like, oh, you know, I
[43:51] Speaker 3: like your Bronco because it's I got bigfoot things all over.
[43:54] Speaker 3: I'm like, oh, yeah, this is what I do. And
[43:55] Speaker 3: they're like, oh, well, by the way, I had seen
[43:58] Speaker 3: this in this area. I don't what it was, but
[44:00] Speaker 3: I had, you know, something hooting at me, like an owl.
[44:05] Speaker 3: But if it was an owl, it was a big owl. So,
[44:09] Speaker 3: you know, just things like that happened here and there,
[44:11] Speaker 3: so and that's I just tried. I tried to talk
[44:14] Speaker 3: to people as much as I can when I'm out,
[44:17] Speaker 3: just you know, be nice and the hat kret you know.
[44:19] Speaker 3: And I've even had game wardens, not never really game warnings,
[44:24] Speaker 3: but forestry people come up and ask what I'm doing,
[44:28] Speaker 3: and I'll tell them and they'll be like, well, I've
[44:29] Speaker 3: seen some hairy legs over here in this location. Once
[44:33] Speaker 3: Harry Legs. Yeah, Harry Legs. He was looking down, like
[44:37] Speaker 3: looking at the trail or something like that, and said
[44:40] Speaker 3: he's seen the legs standing in front of him. He
[44:42] Speaker 3: said he's too scared to look up, so he just
[44:44] Speaker 3: backed out and left no way. Yeah, So it's just
[44:50] Speaker 3: random things like that, And that's just meeting people out
[44:54] Speaker 3: in uh, you know, just out and out in nature,
[44:58] Speaker 3: and they'll see what you're doing, you know. And that's
[45:01] Speaker 3: one of the biggest things for me, is getting it
[45:03] Speaker 3: out there, because twenty thirty years ago, if you talked
[45:07] Speaker 3: about Bigfoot, you were able to cook.
[45:09] Speaker 2: Oh yeah, one hundred percent.
[45:11] Speaker 3: Crazy yep, even in the military side, Like I was
[45:14] Speaker 3: never afraid to talk about it on the military side.
[45:17] Speaker 3: Maybe it's because I mean, I was just a truck
[45:19] Speaker 3: driver in the Army, so there wasn't too much security
[45:23] Speaker 3: reasons there, but you know, maybe if I was higher
[45:25] Speaker 3: up somewhere, they wouldn't take too kindly to it.
[45:29] Speaker 1: Yeah, did anyone so you were talking about bigfoot during
[45:32] Speaker 1: your service, did anyone ever respond with, oh, yeah, I
[45:36] Speaker 1: had something happen, or any conversations that came up.
[45:41] Speaker 3: So some of my friends that I made in there,
[45:43] Speaker 3: that one of the guys he helps me on my
[45:45] Speaker 3: channel a lot, and so we kind of like, you know,
[45:47] Speaker 3: I've made those connections there, but not really not too much.
[45:51] Speaker 3: I mean, I was in the reserves for most of
[45:53] Speaker 3: my time, so we did do stuff in Washington up
[45:57] Speaker 3: at JBLM, and I tried to do as much stuff
[46:01] Speaker 3: as I could up there, tried talking to people, but
[46:03] Speaker 3: most people are like, oh, I'm not from here. I
[46:05] Speaker 3: just got stationed here not too long ago, so I
[46:08] Speaker 3: haven't had anything happen. So it's trying to and people
[46:13] Speaker 3: that are in and are active duty don't. I think
[46:16] Speaker 3: maybe it's the active duty culture that they don't want
[46:18] Speaker 3: to talk about it. But it's getting less taboo, I
[46:23] Speaker 3: guess now than it really ever has been.
[46:29] Speaker 1: For individuals that are not up to the Lingo JBLM
[46:35] Speaker 1: is Joint Base Lewis McCord right, Yes, okay, and which
[46:40] Speaker 1: Fort Lewis is extremely known for actually bigfoot activity and
[46:45] Speaker 1: big foot encounters.
[46:47] Speaker 3: Yep.
[46:49] Speaker 1: Absolutely did you hear when you were there? Just no
[46:52] Speaker 1: one talking about like, oh yeah, we were on patrol
[46:54] Speaker 1: out in the woods outside the base and something weird happened.
[46:58] Speaker 2: Nothing like that.
[47:00] Speaker 3: The crack of the thing about being in the reserves,
[47:03] Speaker 3: when you're out there for training, they kind of steak
[47:04] Speaker 3: you away from everybody else. Okay, So I was like,
[47:07] Speaker 3: all right, we're gona steak you guys over here. You guys,
[47:09] Speaker 3: do what you need to do and kind of leave
[47:10] Speaker 3: the rest of everybody alone. Almost got it.
[47:14] Speaker 1: Yeah, Yeah, I got it. I've heard some some wild
[47:17] Speaker 1: stuff from that area. I mean, there's some weird stuff
[47:21] Speaker 1: that happens, for sure, But I get how you you
[47:25] Speaker 1: wouldn't really be hearing anything if you're in that situation.
[47:29] Speaker 1: What would be a scenario where if it happened to
[47:35] Speaker 1: you during your bigfoot research, then you could you could
[47:39] Speaker 1: walk away and you could be I'm done. I've accomplished
[47:42] Speaker 1: one hundred percent what I set out to do.
[47:47] Speaker 3: I don't honestly if if something happened, like if they
[47:53] Speaker 3: come out and was like, okay, I think the only
[47:57] Speaker 3: thing that would actually stop me is if they come
[48:00] Speaker 3: out and be like, Okay, the whole thing's been a hoax.
[48:02] Speaker 3: We've been doing it for years just to mess with
[48:05] Speaker 3: you people like the government or whoever. I think that's
[48:08] Speaker 3: the only thing that would stop me. Like even if
[48:09] Speaker 3: they come out and was like, hey, we have a body,
[48:12] Speaker 3: Bigfoot's real, or you know, I think I would still
[48:15] Speaker 3: go out and look like for my own satisfaction, Like
[48:19] Speaker 3: if I here's like my wife asked me, what are
[48:22] Speaker 3: you gonna do if you get them on camera? Are
[48:24] Speaker 3: you gonna post that video or you I'm like, honestly,
[48:27] Speaker 3: I don't know. I think I would probably get a
[48:30] Speaker 3: hold of anybody I could in the scientific community to
[48:35] Speaker 3: show the video too, before I even uploaded it, because
[48:39] Speaker 3: and the crappy thing about this day and age and technology,
[48:42] Speaker 3: there's so much AI out there. Even if you did
[48:45] Speaker 3: have the best picture of the best video, everything you're
[48:49] Speaker 3: gonna be it's gonna be labeled fake and as a hoax.
[48:52] Speaker 1: So a one hundred percent I think about this every
[48:54] Speaker 1: day because we are at the point where you can
[48:58] Speaker 1: say to AI, you can be like, make me a
[49:01] Speaker 1: nineteen nineties style handicam video of a bigfoot doing that,
[49:05] Speaker 1: and like it's pretty stinking good. And the only like
[49:09] Speaker 1: whenever anyone sends me stuff, if it doesn't have metadata
[49:15] Speaker 1: or something where I can prove it, or like there's
[49:18] Speaker 1: coordinates in some metadata on photos, I am really suspicious
[49:25] Speaker 1: of it because again AI is getting it's just terrible.
[49:29] Speaker 1: It is absolutely terrible. That's why I don't use it
[49:33] Speaker 1: for episode graphics anymore. I'm staying away from that stuff.
[49:38] Speaker 1: We need to be focusing on other things, not relying
[49:44] Speaker 1: on like I feel like it's muddying the waters. It
[49:47] Speaker 1: is really muddying the waters. And yeah, I don't know
[49:51] Speaker 1: it's a discussion in itself, but yeah, it's I need
[49:55] Speaker 1: to have a discussion with my AI guy again on
[49:59] Speaker 1: the show.
[50:00] Speaker 2: I think it's been a few months, but.
[50:04] Speaker 1: Just it's it's it's wild. You're in such an interesting area,
[50:08] Speaker 1: and I think this is the first time on the
[50:11] Speaker 1: show that we've talked about this area of Utah. There
[50:15] Speaker 1: might be one years ago, but nothing recent. So it'll
[50:19] Speaker 1: be interesting to see if other people reach out through
[50:23] Speaker 1: the comments or through email. You know to to share
[50:28] Speaker 1: what they've experienced, or maybe they've also experienced something that
[50:32] Speaker 1: looked exactly like what you you described, which I would
[50:35] Speaker 1: not be surprised at all really.
[50:38] Speaker 3: And that's and I and I try to encourage people
[50:41] Speaker 3: like and I've put on my on my channel like
[50:43] Speaker 3: at the end of ay, if you've had an encounter,
[50:45] Speaker 3: you know, let me know. I'll if you guys want
[50:47] Speaker 3: to talk about it. I mean, because a lot of
[50:49] Speaker 3: people they just want to talk about They don't care
[50:50] Speaker 3: about being on camera. They just want it off their chest.
[50:56] Speaker 3: Like when I've I go to at least once a year,
[50:58] Speaker 3: I'll go to the hunting pages on Facebook and ask,
[51:01] Speaker 3: has anybody seen anything you know, like I don't care
[51:04] Speaker 3: like supernatural like ghosts or what it like, you know
[51:06] Speaker 3: it because it makes for fun content also, but you know,
[51:10] Speaker 3: the main end goal for me is bigfoot related stuff.
[51:13] Speaker 3: If you guys have seen anything, let me know. And
[51:15] Speaker 3: then first comment, oh you're a quack, you know whatever,
[51:19] Speaker 3: and then that person will privately message me like, hey,
[51:22] Speaker 3: I've seen this in this area. Well, dear hunting, I'm like, well,
[51:25] Speaker 3: you know, you could have just messaged me and not
[51:27] Speaker 3: say anything on you know, but I feel like they're
[51:30] Speaker 3: so defensive in what they've seen. They've got to get
[51:33] Speaker 3: it out of the way, Like they got to be
[51:34] Speaker 3: defensive first, like because they don't want to be I
[51:38] Speaker 3: don't you know, they don't want to be outed for
[51:40] Speaker 3: being weird or seeing something. But it's I don't.
[51:45] Speaker 1: Know absolutely, And that's actually I do a similar thing
[51:49] Speaker 1: sometimes and it's exactly as you said. You will get
[51:53] Speaker 1: about ten guys in the comments where they'll be making
[51:55] Speaker 1: fun of you, which is cool, and then two weeks
[51:58] Speaker 1: later usually you'll get a few direct messages up be like,
[52:02] Speaker 1: oh are you the guy that was talking about the
[52:03] Speaker 1: Bigfoot in like in like sweet Home, Oregon Facebook group
[52:07] Speaker 1: or whatever, just like the really niche regional ones or
[52:10] Speaker 1: like Prince of Wales Island Facebook group, you know, stuff
[52:14] Speaker 1: like that. Guys, just be smart and you'll find the
[52:18] Speaker 1: small Facebook groups and you can get in get in them,
[52:21] Speaker 1: and you know you'll you'll get made fun of, but
[52:22] Speaker 1: you'll get some cool stuff.
[52:24] Speaker 2: But my goodness.
[52:26] Speaker 1: Also another thing you mentioned, Yeah, if the government comes
[52:29] Speaker 1: out and says Bigfoot is real, we are going to
[52:32] Speaker 1: be the most We're going to be way more busy
[52:36] Speaker 1: because I think after that then all these people that
[52:41] Speaker 1: have been holding back be like, oh okay, so it's
[52:44] Speaker 1: okay for me to share now.
[52:47] Speaker 2: It's going to be intense, dude.
[52:50] Speaker 3: I hope.
[52:50] Speaker 1: I hope we get there one day. I I really,
[52:53] Speaker 1: I really do. But we'll see. You will see what
[52:55] Speaker 1: the future brings. But you know, Matthew, I want to
[52:58] Speaker 1: make sure that you able to share everything that you
[53:02] Speaker 1: want to share about your encounters today.
[53:04] Speaker 2: First off, well.
[53:07] Speaker 3: There's one one thing so in this and in the
[53:09] Speaker 3: same area, and I don't really I don't really know
[53:12] Speaker 3: if it's Bigfoot related or not, but it's odd. So
[53:15] Speaker 3: I would say it was in two thousand and two
[53:18] Speaker 3: in the same area the first first sighting. I went
[53:23] Speaker 3: archery hunting with a guy from my church. So I
[53:26] Speaker 3: took him to this area because this area used to
[53:28] Speaker 3: be really good for my family and it wasn't. So
[53:31] Speaker 3: you come up on a knoll and it's like a
[53:34] Speaker 3: really windy area and I was like, oh, my dad's
[53:35] Speaker 3: told me he's just shot deer down in here. So
[53:37] Speaker 3: you walk down this down this road and walk into
[53:40] Speaker 3: the trees, and I'll walk into the trees this way
[53:42] Speaker 3: and see if I can push anything to you. So
[53:45] Speaker 3: he's all right. So he walks down one hundred yards
[53:47] Speaker 3: and I walk into the trees and we walk in
[53:49] Speaker 3: at the same time, and I was probably, I don't know,
[53:53] Speaker 3: fifty sixty feet into the trees, kind of just picking
[53:56] Speaker 3: my way through, walking and kind of zigzaging. And I'm
[53:58] Speaker 3: standing there and I feel like something behind me and
[54:05] Speaker 3: I don't cause there's moose in the area also, so
[54:08] Speaker 3: I was like, well, I was seventeen, maybe seventeen eighteen
[54:12] Speaker 3: years old at this time, so I was like, well,
[54:14] Speaker 3: if it's a moose, I don't want to move right now,
[54:17] Speaker 3: you know. And so out of my peripherals, I'm trying
[54:19] Speaker 3: to look at my peripherals without moving, and I see
[54:22] Speaker 3: brown like on both sides. So something in moose right,
[54:26] Speaker 3: and there's a tree to my right. I went to
[54:29] Speaker 3: my right. So there's a tree to my right. I
[54:30] Speaker 3: can see it, and it felt like it was big
[54:32] Speaker 3: enough that I can put it between me and the moose.
[54:35] Speaker 3: And so I'm like getting ready to move, and I
[54:38] Speaker 3: twist and just like move to my right and twist
[54:41] Speaker 3: so I can see what it is. There's nothing there,
[54:45] Speaker 3: so and like I never put I never put it,
[54:48] Speaker 3: like lumped it into that like I just chalked out
[54:50] Speaker 3: as a weird experience and I didn't see anything there.
[54:52] Speaker 3: I'm like, oh, the guy from the Hunter I took
[54:55] Speaker 3: it there, he's messing with me. So I walk, I
[54:57] Speaker 3: go directly walk directly to my right and up and
[55:00] Speaker 3: out onto another road and I'm like, where is this guy?
[55:04] Speaker 3: And so I start walking down that road heading I
[55:07] Speaker 3: think I'm heading north at this time, and he comes
[55:09] Speaker 3: out of the trees in front of me, another fifty
[55:11] Speaker 3: yards in front of me. I was like, oh, hey,
[55:13] Speaker 3: there you are, And I was like, what are you doing.
[55:15] Speaker 3: He's like, I was chasing something this way, going the
[55:18] Speaker 3: completely different direction than what was behind me. So he
[55:21] Speaker 3: wasn'tnywhere near me when it happened.
[55:23] Speaker 2: Oh man, weird.
[55:26] Speaker 3: So I mean, and that was that's in the same
[55:29] Speaker 3: area that this has happened.
[55:32] Speaker 1: Sounds like it sounds like a really weird area. I'm
[55:35] Speaker 1: sure there will be people that that reach out. How
[55:39] Speaker 1: can is there a way people can contact you directly?
[55:42] Speaker 3: Matt to report through my email at Sasquatch off Road
[55:46] Speaker 3: at yahoo dot com. And then I've also got a
[55:49] Speaker 3: Facebook that I get messages on there, which is just
[55:52] Speaker 3: a Sasquatch off Road on Facebook.
[55:55] Speaker 1: Awesome, and that's also the name of your YouTube channel.
[55:58] Speaker 2: Correct.
[55:59] Speaker 3: Yeah, on YouTube it Sasquatch off Road Adventures. I realized
[56:04] Speaker 3: that there's a lot of other Sasquatch off Roads, but it's
[56:07] Speaker 3: a four x four builds and when you Sasquatch off Road,
[56:12] Speaker 3: when you search it on YouTube, it brings up a
[56:14] Speaker 3: lot of the new Broncos. So if you do Sasquatch
[56:17] Speaker 3: off Road Adventures, it'll bring up my page directly.
[56:22] Speaker 2: Fantastic.
