In this episode, we delve into the extraordinary experiences of Scott from southern Ohio, whose life has been shaped by encounters that stretch across generations. Growing up with stories from his grandfather about a terrifying creature in the woods of Clay County, West Virginia, Scott shares how those early accounts set the foundation for everything that followed. From a close-range encounter where a family member came face to face with a massive being in rural Ohio, to the deeply unsettling events he experienced as a child in the remote hills of eastern Kentucky, a pattern begins to take shape. Living part of his childhood along the Kentucky River, Scott describes a place where strange activity was treated as part of everyday life. Animals disappeared without a trace, food was left out and taken overnight, and something large moved through the hollers after dark. Known by a name passed quietly through his family—“the cowker”—this presence carried a reputation that kept people inside once night fell. As Scott grew older, the experiences didn’t stay in the past. From unexplained activity near a cabin in Tennessee to ongoing encounters in Adams County, Ohio, including movement in the woods, vocalizations, and moments that defy easy explanation, the same feeling followed him into adulthood. Along the way, he connects with others who have seen similar things, reinforcing that these events are not isolated. Scott’s account offers a grounded, firsthand look at what happens when multiple generations encounter something they cannot explain, yet never forget. [0:16] Speaker 1: and each one leaves us with more questions than answers.
[0:20] Speaker 2: These are the.
[0:21] Speaker 1: Voices of the people who've lived it. To settle in,

[0:32] Speaker 1: all right, thanks for coming back to another episode of
[0:34] Speaker 1: the Bigfoot Society podcast. We've got listeners Scott who reached
[0:39] Speaker 1: out to me wanting to share some interesting things that
[0:41] Speaker 1: have happened to him over the years and to some
[0:45] Speaker 1: of his family members as well, I believe, And so
[0:49] Speaker 1: we'll be focusing on the Kentucky and Ohio area.
[0:53] Speaker 2: But welcome to the show, Scott. How are you doing, sir?
[0:56] Speaker 3: I'm doing very well.
[0:57] Speaker 2: Thank you for having me awesome.
[0:59] Speaker 1: Is there anything else contexts wise that the listeners would
[1:02] Speaker 1: want to know about you before we get going today?
[1:06] Speaker 3: Oh? Well, I am forty six years old. I currently
[1:10] Speaker 3: live in southern Ohio, about thirty miles east of Cincinnati,
[1:16] Speaker 3: a small town that I grew up and lived in
[1:18] Speaker 3: my entire life. And I'm married with three children and
[1:23] Speaker 3: three dogs.
[1:25] Speaker 1: There you go, that sounds like a full house. That's great,
[1:28] Speaker 1: good stuff. So, you know, Scott, feel free to take
[1:30] Speaker 1: us back to when you started realizing you were having
[1:36] Speaker 1: some stuff going on that was out of the ordinary.
[1:40] Speaker 3: Okay, Well, I had a very unusual childhood. My grandfather
[1:47] Speaker 3: would tell me stories from a very young age. We
[1:50] Speaker 3: lived just next door in the house that I was born.
[1:53] Speaker 3: This would be my dad's dad, and he was born
[1:57] Speaker 3: in nineteen oh seven in Clay County, West virgin And
[2:01] Speaker 3: one of the very first stories he would tell me
[2:03] Speaker 3: was about his first encounter. He was working in Clay County,
[2:09] Speaker 3: West Virginia, and this would have been back probably in
[2:11] Speaker 3: the early thirties, and he was cutting railroad ties. He
[2:15] Speaker 3: worked for a company cutting railroad ties. And he said,
[2:18] Speaker 3: one morning, they got up, they went out, they went
[2:21] Speaker 3: to the job site, they started getting ready for work,
[2:24] Speaker 3: and they heard this horrible scream, you know, guttural, real
[2:27] Speaker 3: low scream that went up into a real high pitch,
[2:31] Speaker 3: and the bushes started shaking, and the way he describes
[2:34] Speaker 3: it is that a eight to eight and a half
[2:37] Speaker 3: foot tall, hairy, human looking creature stepped out and screamed
[2:43] Speaker 3: again at them, and they dropped everything and took off
[2:47] Speaker 3: and ran back to get the rest of the crew.
[2:49] Speaker 3: When they returned, they found eighteen inch footprints in the mud,
[2:55] Speaker 3: and he described it as having a horrible smell, very
[2:59] Speaker 3: much muscular, dark brown in collar, human like features. One
[3:04] Speaker 3: of the things that really caught my attention to these
[3:06] Speaker 3: stories growing up from my grandfather was that he never
[3:09] Speaker 3: ever called it bigfoot or sasquatch. He always called it
[3:11] Speaker 3: a demon. I don't know why I never He was
[3:14] Speaker 3: a very religious man, so I assumed that might have
[3:16] Speaker 3: something to do with it. He did also subsequently, after
[3:22] Speaker 3: having that encounter, he took his entire family at the
[3:26] Speaker 3: time and moved them from West Virginia to Ohio because
[3:30] Speaker 3: he was so frightened of what he saw. It changed
[3:32] Speaker 3: his entire life. So growing up, that was one of
[3:37] Speaker 3: the stories that I would sit on my grandfather's lap
[3:39] Speaker 3: and that's what he would tell me. Right. So, I
[3:41] Speaker 3: was born in seventy nine, Go ahead.
[3:47] Speaker 1: Sorry, what was your grandfather's emotional state when he would
[3:51] Speaker 1: tell you that story, Like, how would he act emotionally?
[3:56] Speaker 3: So he always had a very serious look when he
[4:00] Speaker 3: would tell me. It wasn't a joke, it wasn't a story.
[4:02] Speaker 3: It wasn't like him telling me a story of him
[4:05] Speaker 3: doing something else when he was younger. It was always
[4:08] Speaker 3: a very serious story, and I think he wanted to
[4:10] Speaker 3: convey that right. He wanted me to know that this
[4:12] Speaker 3: is real, this is something I'm telling you. I'm not
[4:14] Speaker 3: just trying to scare you or trying to tell a story.
[4:18] Speaker 3: He always seemed very not emotional, because he wasn't really
[4:22] Speaker 3: an emotional kind of man. But you could tell like
[4:24] Speaker 3: he was unnerved whenever he would tell the story.
[4:30] Speaker 1: That's fascinating. I can't imagine how emotionally shook up he
[4:35] Speaker 1: would have had to been to move everything to a
[4:39] Speaker 1: different state. I mean, woo, that is that's a really
[4:45] Speaker 1: really intense detail.
[4:46] Speaker 2: Did he ever say if.
[4:48] Speaker 1: The scream he had heard, if it reminded him of
[4:50] Speaker 1: anything else?
[4:51] Speaker 2: Ever?
[4:53] Speaker 3: No, he just described as something almost unearthly. He's he
[5:00] Speaker 3: grew up there, you know, he'd been in the woods
[5:03] Speaker 3: and everything his entire life. He said he never heard
[5:06] Speaker 3: anything like it before. It's all you.
[5:08] Speaker 2: Would say, gotcha.
[5:11] Speaker 1: So then you are then because of your grandfather moving
[5:16] Speaker 1: due to his big foot encounter. That's why then you
[5:20] Speaker 1: are in Ohio pretty much correct. Wow, So I've never
[5:27] Speaker 1: I mean, man, I've never heard a bigfoot encounter affecting
[5:31] Speaker 1: a family trees, his family's history like that.
[5:36] Speaker 2: That's wild.
[5:37] Speaker 1: So how did that affect you as a younger child
[5:42] Speaker 1: hearing that story.
[5:45] Speaker 3: Well, I immediately fell in love with the idea of,
[5:50] Speaker 3: you know, bigfoot monsters. I had an aunt that also
[5:55] Speaker 3: lived there with my grandfather. Her and I are only
[5:57] Speaker 3: thirteen years apart. She's the youngest of his children. She
[6:00] Speaker 3: was basically my first best friend, my first babysitter, and
[6:05] Speaker 3: she also, because of Grandpa's stories, fell in love with bigfoot.
[6:08] Speaker 3: So we were always when I was a kid, she
[6:10] Speaker 3: was always showing me stuff. I was always checking out
[6:12] Speaker 3: the books, watching in search of legend of Boggie Creek,
[6:16] Speaker 3: you know, all the tale tales of you know, kind
[6:20] Speaker 3: of that fascination as a kid. So that wasn't the
[6:24] Speaker 3: only story that my grandfather would tell me. So in
[6:28] Speaker 3: the early well probably mid seventies, we've determined it down
[6:32] Speaker 3: to between seventy five and seventy seven. While living in Ohio,
[6:36] Speaker 3: my uncle came to visit and he was an avid
[6:41] Speaker 3: hunter then, all over the country hunting and you know, deer, elk, bear,
[6:45] Speaker 3: all kinds of stuff, and it was kind of tradition
[6:47] Speaker 3: that when he came into town that him and my
[6:49] Speaker 3: grandfather would go hunting of some kind. Usually it was
[6:51] Speaker 3: squirrel hunting because it involved you know, my grandfather wasn't
[6:54] Speaker 3: much of a hunter, so he would just kind of
[6:56] Speaker 3: do it to, you know, spend time with my uncle
[7:01] Speaker 3: and grandfather. My grandfather would tell me the story where
[7:04] Speaker 3: him and my uncle went to a wildlife reserve, which
[7:07] Speaker 3: is not far from where we live, about twenty miles
[7:09] Speaker 3: south of where I actually live now, and they went
[7:13] Speaker 3: to a wildlife reserve to go hunting. They said it
[7:16] Speaker 3: was a very strange morning. They got out of the truck.
[7:19] Speaker 3: It was super quiet. My grandfather had always described it
[7:22] Speaker 3: as you could hear an acorn drop in the woods.
[7:25] Speaker 3: I thought it was very odd. And the story he
[7:29] Speaker 3: would tell me is that they split off. They both
[7:32] Speaker 3: went in opposite, you know, kind of opposite directions to
[7:35] Speaker 3: go squirrel hunting, like they would any other time, nothing
[7:38] Speaker 3: out of the ordinary, And as they separated it had
[7:42] Speaker 3: been you know, probably twenty thirty minutes. All of a sudden,
[7:45] Speaker 3: he heard gunshots. My uncle always carried a side arm
[7:49] Speaker 3: in addition to the four tens that they were using
[7:51] Speaker 3: for squirrel hunting, and he said he heard the four
[7:53] Speaker 3: ten go off in every single round in the handgun,
[7:58] Speaker 3: and he just heard boom boom boom boom, boom, boom boom.
[8:01] Speaker 3: So he takes off running in the direction to my
[8:03] Speaker 3: uncle and he runs into my uncle, who's just white
[8:06] Speaker 3: as a ghost, I mean, just white is a ghost, terrified,
[8:10] Speaker 3: and he keeps screaming, I shot a monster. I shot
[8:12] Speaker 3: a monster. And so my grandfather takes him back. He's like, well,
[8:18] Speaker 3: come show me if you shot something, if it's bleeding,
[8:20] Speaker 3: if it's injured, we need to check it out. Show
[8:22] Speaker 3: me what's going on, trying to calm him down. Gets
[8:24] Speaker 3: him back to the spot, and there's this giant down tree,
[8:27] Speaker 3: this log, and just on the other side of the
[8:29] Speaker 3: log was all the grass and all the weeds were
[8:33] Speaker 3: all matted down. He said it was bigger than a
[8:36] Speaker 3: cow had been laying there. That's how he described it.
[8:40] Speaker 3: And my uncle Jess said, he said, I was coming
[8:44] Speaker 3: up to the log. I thought I'd climb up on
[8:46] Speaker 3: the log, maybe take a sit and sit here and
[8:49] Speaker 3: listen for squirrels. I guess when he climbed up on
[8:51] Speaker 3: the log, he kind of slipped a little bit and
[8:54] Speaker 3: didn't you know, wasn't looking, wasn't paying attention. He slipped
[8:57] Speaker 3: a little bit. And when he stood up on the log,
[8:59] Speaker 3: and it was the way they described it was about
[9:02] Speaker 3: a three foot high log, about two and a half
[9:04] Speaker 3: three feet. He said something stood up behind the log
[9:09] Speaker 3: and looked him basically nose to nose, and he said
[9:13] Speaker 3: he could feel its breath like a horse like, right
[9:16] Speaker 3: up on him. And he shot and fell off the
[9:20] Speaker 3: log and rolled a bit, jumped up and took off
[9:24] Speaker 3: and ran back to my grandfather and that's when they met.
[9:26] Speaker 3: He described it as a bigfoot. He always used the
[9:29] Speaker 3: word bigfoot. He said that it was. He was six
[9:34] Speaker 3: foot two, six foot three, so he's standing on a
[9:37] Speaker 3: two and a half three foot log and this thing
[9:40] Speaker 3: looked him in the eye, so he knows it was,
[9:42] Speaker 3: you know, pushing that nine foot height. And he always
[9:46] Speaker 3: called it a bigfoot, and he swears he unloaded on it,
[9:50] Speaker 3: point blank range. But they never found any blood. They
[9:52] Speaker 3: never found any trace other than the app the grass
[9:56] Speaker 3: and the weeds being smashed down around that behind that wall.
[10:00] Speaker 3: And he thinks he surprised that. He think he jumped
[10:03] Speaker 3: up there and he was being quiet, and he jumped
[10:05] Speaker 3: up there and the thing that it might have been
[10:06] Speaker 3: sleeping and stood up and he said that, you know,
[10:11] Speaker 3: it roared and you could feel the breath. And he
[10:16] Speaker 3: always described the breath like that was always the thing.
[10:18] Speaker 3: He was literally nose to nose with it when he
[10:20] Speaker 3: drew his handgun and just started firing.
[10:26] Speaker 1: My goodness, so we're talking. We're not talking feet away,
[10:29] Speaker 1: We're talking potentially inches away.
[10:31] Speaker 3: Inches away. And what's most interesting is that with this story,
[10:36] Speaker 3: I heard it directly from my uncle, but of course
[10:39] Speaker 3: I was a little kid right then. I heard it
[10:41] Speaker 3: from my grandfather, sitting on his lap, one of his stories.
[10:45] Speaker 3: I was estranged from my real father for almost twenty years,
[10:50] Speaker 3: and when we reconnected back in twenty sixteen and I
[10:53] Speaker 3: asked him about the incident, he told me, almost verbatim,
[10:57] Speaker 3: word for word, the story, and it kind of gave
[11:01] Speaker 3: me chills. And then my aunt that was there when
[11:04] Speaker 3: I was a kid who's thirteen years older than me.
[11:08] Speaker 3: I reconnected with her. We were strange for about twenty
[11:11] Speaker 3: two twenty three years, and she lives in Maine, and
[11:15] Speaker 3: we reconnected and she was telling me the exact same story, verbatim,
[11:19] Speaker 3: word for word. So like everyone in the family knows
[11:22] Speaker 3: that your uncle Jess shot a bigfoot, it's well known.
[11:26] Speaker 3: That's just how it is. It's not like a story
[11:29] Speaker 3: of the family that we made up. It's something that
[11:32] Speaker 3: actually happened that all of us know about. And my
[11:34] Speaker 3: uncle never went hunting again after that incident. He never
[11:37] Speaker 3: went back in the woods again.
[11:39] Speaker 2: I don't blame them.
[11:40] Speaker 1: I would I wouldn't be going in the woods either.
[11:43] Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, did you ever describe the face of
[11:48] Speaker 1: what he saw it all?
[11:51] Speaker 3: So we didn't get a lot of details on the face.
[11:54] Speaker 3: Most of what I remember and what was in the
[11:57] Speaker 3: story was that it was harry, you know, six to
[11:59] Speaker 3: eight inch long hair on the body, and he was
[12:04] Speaker 3: so close to it that I guess he maybe he
[12:07] Speaker 3: didn't get a good look at it because it was
[12:09] Speaker 3: literally in his face. He just remembers the eyes and
[12:11] Speaker 3: the breath, big amber colored eyes and feeling like this
[12:16] Speaker 3: immense I guess you could say just the presence of
[12:20] Speaker 3: it just being so massive, and that it was at
[12:25] Speaker 3: least four foot wide, and he was guessing probably right
[12:28] Speaker 3: around that nine foot tall mark. Yeah.
[12:32] Speaker 1: I mean at that point, I'm trying to put myself
[12:34] Speaker 1: in your uncle's situation. I mean, you're not trying to
[12:37] Speaker 1: get details, You're trying to save your life. I mean
[12:40] Speaker 1: you're in shock. You're just going into primal response mode.
[12:46] Speaker 1: How did that affect your viewpoint of Bigfoot as a
[12:50] Speaker 1: younger child after hearing that?
[12:54] Speaker 3: So those are the stories that kind of shaped my intrigue, right,
[12:58] Speaker 3: those are the two that start everything for me. And
[13:03] Speaker 3: I had a very unusual childhood. Like I said, I
[13:05] Speaker 3: had these stories from Grandpa, and then I lived in
[13:08] Speaker 3: a house that had a lot of strange things going on.
[13:10] Speaker 3: I think it was demonic, you know, it was. It
[13:13] Speaker 3: was really bad, and actually I think that was the
[13:16] Speaker 3: reason for my parents' divorce when I was five. But
[13:20] Speaker 3: I've always been very sensitive to certain things, and I
[13:23] Speaker 3: just always got the feeling like I know this is true.
[13:25] Speaker 3: I don't think, you know, my grandfather, being this religious man,
[13:28] Speaker 3: I don't think he would just make these things up
[13:30] Speaker 3: and he you know, he told it to me like
[13:33] Speaker 3: he would say, Hey, I saw so and so down
[13:35] Speaker 3: the street the other day and I said hi. You know,
[13:37] Speaker 3: he didn't tell it like some big elaborate he didn't
[13:40] Speaker 3: add anything to it. It always was consistent, it never changed.
[13:45] Speaker 2: It is.
[13:46] Speaker 1: It is very it's almost ironic in a way that man,
[13:50] Speaker 1: it really follows the family, like your grandfather has has
[13:55] Speaker 1: a situation, moves to a different state, and then because
[14:00] Speaker 1: not well, because the move, then you end up buying
[14:04] Speaker 1: that house and you're having over the years, you're having
[14:08] Speaker 1: that activity in the house. Just it's a very weird
[14:11] Speaker 1: how sometimes that is all connected. Some individuals have, as
[14:16] Speaker 1: you said, definitely a form of sensitivity with paranormal or
[14:23] Speaker 1: things that are unseen.
[14:27] Speaker 2: Were there any.
[14:27] Speaker 1: Other stories that were shared with from your relatives or
[14:31] Speaker 1: family of people having bigfoot interactions.
[14:35] Speaker 3: So that's that's basically what I have from my family
[14:39] Speaker 3: from Ohio, and that's my father's side of the family.
[14:42] Speaker 3: Now when my parents got divorced or we're going through
[14:46] Speaker 3: the divorce. This would have been right around that nineteen
[14:48] Speaker 3: eighty five, nineteen eighty six, so I would have been
[14:50] Speaker 3: five or six years old, and they would ship me
[14:53] Speaker 3: off to my mom's parent grandparents. My mom's parents in
[14:58] Speaker 3: eastern Kentucky, in the middle of nowhere. They lived on
[15:02] Speaker 3: a dirt road sixteen miles from the nearest town, and
[15:07] Speaker 3: they didn't drive. Neither one of them drove. They didn't
[15:09] Speaker 3: have a phone, we didn't have TV. But to me,
[15:13] Speaker 3: it was like the best thing in the world because
[15:15] Speaker 3: my grandfather always took me fishing. We were right on
[15:17] Speaker 3: the Kentucky River. You had all these mountains and waterfalls
[15:22] Speaker 3: and creeks and the river. It was just to me,
[15:25] Speaker 3: it was the greatest adventure ever, right, So I loved
[15:30] Speaker 3: going down there, but I noticed right away that some
[15:34] Speaker 3: strange things were happening. So the first summer I stayed there,
[15:38] Speaker 3: the very first thing that started happening was my grandfather
[15:42] Speaker 3: woke me up one morning and told me, Hey, there's
[15:44] Speaker 3: some chickens missing. Can you come help me find you know,
[15:46] Speaker 3: see what's going on with the chickens or whatever. And
[15:48] Speaker 3: so I went out there and he had said he
[15:51] Speaker 3: had a couple of chickens missing. So what I thought
[15:55] Speaker 3: was really odd was I remember this really specifically. He
[15:57] Speaker 3: takes this piece of wire because he had just piece
[16:00] Speaker 3: of block wood to make a door latch on the door,
[16:04] Speaker 3: and he took a big piece of wire and he
[16:05] Speaker 3: wraps it around the chicken coop. And we came back
[16:09] Speaker 3: out the next day and that wire was completely unwound
[16:12] Speaker 3: and laying on the ground, and he said there were
[16:14] Speaker 3: two more chickens missing. And so I thought that was
[16:18] Speaker 3: really strange. And a lot of this stuff didn't catch
[16:20] Speaker 3: up to me until later on in life when I
[16:22] Speaker 3: started getting more into listening to other people's accounts. So
[16:26] Speaker 3: I'm kind of reliving some of this and thought about it,
[16:30] Speaker 3: and it's really really crazy. So the wire was laying
[16:34] Speaker 3: on the ground, Grandpa goes into his little shed and
[16:37] Speaker 3: he gets like a powdery substance and starts spreading it
[16:41] Speaker 3: around the outside of the chicken coop. Well, that was sulfur,
[16:47] Speaker 3: and I've heard in a lot of stories that sulfur
[16:50] Speaker 3: will keep these things away, and I had no idea.
[16:54] Speaker 3: I just assumed it was something to keep out, you know,
[16:57] Speaker 3: raccoons or something. But there was no blood, no feather,
[17:00] Speaker 3: there was no didn't look like anything broke the cage
[17:03] Speaker 3: or the chicken coop in anyway. It was really strange.
[17:07] Speaker 3: And then I also noticed that my grandmother started acting
[17:10] Speaker 3: very differently. I noticed all the window curtains were always closed,
[17:14] Speaker 3: and it was like all of a sudden she just
[17:17] Speaker 3: closed them. And she would always tell me you were
[17:19] Speaker 3: not allowed to go out at night, was never allowed
[17:22] Speaker 3: to go out at night. She said, if you go
[17:23] Speaker 3: out of night, the booger will get you. And that's
[17:25] Speaker 3: what she That was like clinically, her threat. If you
[17:29] Speaker 3: go tonight, the booger will get you. If you don't
[17:31] Speaker 3: go to bed, the booger will get you. If you
[17:33] Speaker 3: don't listen to me, the booger will get you. And
[17:35] Speaker 3: they always call she always called her a booger. Well
[17:38] Speaker 3: she after the chickens started going missing, I noticed that
[17:41] Speaker 3: she had this big silver pot and it was just
[17:44] Speaker 3: this beat up old pot. And where they lived in
[17:47] Speaker 3: this trailer was right at the base of what we
[17:50] Speaker 3: call a haller right, so it goes it literally goes
[17:52] Speaker 3: straight back behind their trailer, and there was a natural
[17:55] Speaker 3: spring back there was very deep, very narrow, and right
[17:58] Speaker 3: at the very front of it, next to their trailer,
[18:00] Speaker 3: it was a stump, this big, huge stump, probably three
[18:02] Speaker 3: four feet around, and instead of taking the daily scraps
[18:06] Speaker 3: from the food and throwing them in the ditch like
[18:08] Speaker 3: she normally would. She started putting them in this big
[18:10] Speaker 3: pot and she would sit it on top of that stump.
[18:14] Speaker 3: And the next day when we would go out, that
[18:17] Speaker 3: pot would be completely empty and still sitting there, not
[18:20] Speaker 3: knocked over, not found, you know, laying a couple feet away.
[18:24] Speaker 3: It would just still be sitting on the stump. And
[18:29] Speaker 3: I didn't think about that till later. I think she
[18:31] Speaker 3: was I think she was feeding them. I think she
[18:33] Speaker 3: was trying to bribe them into saying, don't eat my chickens.
[18:37] Speaker 3: Here's some food, right. I didn't catch onto that till
[18:40] Speaker 3: much much later. Now you fast forward just maybe like
[18:45] Speaker 3: another week or so. I don't know where my grandfather was.
[18:48] Speaker 3: It was just me and my grandmother sitting there. And
[18:50] Speaker 3: you have to think, we're in this little tiny trailer
[18:53] Speaker 3: in the middle of nowhere, and there's nothing to do.
[18:56] Speaker 3: And I'm a kid, right, So Grandma takes me out
[18:58] Speaker 3: of the porch. We're sitting on the porch where watching,
[19:01] Speaker 3: you know, the lightning bugs, and I wanted to listen
[19:03] Speaker 3: to the whipper wills because I never heard whipper wills.
[19:06] Speaker 3: So she took me out to listen to the whipper
[19:08] Speaker 3: whils and I thought that was the coolest thing ever.
[19:09] Speaker 3: So there's this one little tiny porch light barely giving
[19:13] Speaker 3: off any light, and Grandma's sitting there and she's reading
[19:16] Speaker 3: her Bible and she's got a little AMFM radio going.
[19:19] Speaker 3: I don't even remember what was on it. And I
[19:21] Speaker 3: remember we heard this how this just long, huge, how
[19:28] Speaker 3: that just echoed through through the mountains, right through the hills.
[19:31] Speaker 3: I guess there are hills down there. And it wouldn't
[19:35] Speaker 3: be till years later when I heard the Ohio how
[19:39] Speaker 3: that had that kind of like tornado drill kind of sound,
[19:43] Speaker 3: that siren sound. It hit me instantly. I mean it
[19:46] Speaker 3: almost made me sick because I remember sitting there in
[19:48] Speaker 3: the dark with my little old grandma, miles from anywhere,
[19:52] Speaker 3: and hearing that ring through the mountains. And I asked
[19:57] Speaker 3: my grandma, I said, what was that? And I remember
[20:00] Speaker 3: she looked at me and deads here said, oh, well,
[20:01] Speaker 3: that's that's just a mountain lion or a bobcat. And
[20:04] Speaker 3: I was a little kid, so I didn't know. I'm like, okay,
[20:08] Speaker 3: all right, so it's just it's just that was that
[20:13] Speaker 3: was kind of my first summer there now, my second
[20:18] Speaker 3: summer there. The next year it gets a little weirder.
[20:22] Speaker 3: So my my grandfather wakes me up early one morning,
[20:28] Speaker 3: and we did this a lot. He would wake me up.
[20:30] Speaker 3: We'd go check they had a trout He had a
[20:31] Speaker 3: trout line that he ran across the Kentucky River. I
[20:33] Speaker 3: don't think that's legal now, but he had a trout
[20:36] Speaker 3: line in a little boat. And he would wake me
[20:38] Speaker 3: up and we would go check the trout line for fish,
[20:41] Speaker 3: and if he caught something, we'd have fish for lunch.
[20:43] Speaker 3: And it was just kind of a common thing. We'd
[20:45] Speaker 3: pick vegetables in the garden and all that. So he
[20:48] Speaker 3: woke me up early one morning and I remember he's
[20:50] Speaker 3: standing there, and my grandfather was this little old man.
[20:53] Speaker 3: He's just he kind of hunched over a little bit.
[20:55] Speaker 3: He always had on a real nice like plaid button
[20:58] Speaker 3: up shirt, and he always walked with a cane, and
[21:01] Speaker 3: in his back pocket he always had a little flask,
[21:05] Speaker 3: which I assume was whiskey. And then the other pocket
[21:07] Speaker 3: he always had like a little thirty eight special or
[21:10] Speaker 3: something like a little silver gun. And he wakes me
[21:13] Speaker 3: up one morning and he says, boy, I'm going to
[21:15] Speaker 3: go check the the trout line. You want to come
[21:18] Speaker 3: with me? And I'm a little kid, I'm super excit.
[21:21] Speaker 3: I'm like, yeah, Grandpa, I want to come with you.
[21:22] Speaker 3: They always they always called me boy him and Grandma
[21:25] Speaker 3: always called me boy. So we get up and it's
[21:27] Speaker 3: just right before dawn, right, it's just just starting to
[21:31] Speaker 3: get light outside. And instead of going to the right
[21:35] Speaker 3: out of their driveway and walking down to the side
[21:37] Speaker 3: of the river where he always went, we went left
[21:40] Speaker 3: and walked down past my aunt's house and some other
[21:43] Speaker 3: family to a spot we'd never been before. And it
[21:47] Speaker 3: was actually at the base of the mountain where my
[21:48] Speaker 3: great grandfather lived. So he takes me down there and
[21:51] Speaker 3: we were on this dirt road and we hit this
[21:54] Speaker 3: little it's just a little sand trail, like a little
[21:59] Speaker 3: down two foot wide little trail, and it goes straight
[22:02] Speaker 3: down into what I would call like a creek bed
[22:04] Speaker 3: between two hills. So you had a big hill the road,
[22:08] Speaker 3: then another hill, and then you had this flat bottom
[22:11] Speaker 3: creek bed and then another hill going straight up the
[22:14] Speaker 3: other side. And so we get down there and I
[22:16] Speaker 3: remember it was super quiet. It was eerily quiet. I
[22:21] Speaker 3: thought I could I didn't think about it at the time,
[22:23] Speaker 3: but I couldn't even hear the river. We were so
[22:24] Speaker 3: close to the river. Normally you could hear the river.
[22:27] Speaker 3: And I remember the weeds were really tall. So I'm
[22:29] Speaker 3: a little kid, right, So the weeds were over my
[22:31] Speaker 3: head and Grandpa's in front of me, and I smelled
[22:35] Speaker 3: something really, really bad, and the only way I could
[22:38] Speaker 3: I thought it was like dead fish in the river,
[22:40] Speaker 3: because that's historically what I'd smelled going down to the
[22:43] Speaker 3: river so many times. I just thought it was dead fish.
[22:45] Speaker 3: But it got hit with this horrible, horrible smell, and
[22:49] Speaker 3: that's when the noises started. It sounded like someone was
[22:53] Speaker 3: taking like three or four inch big limbs and just
[22:56] Speaker 3: snapping them. And the strangest thing happened my grandfather. He
[23:00] Speaker 3: turns around. I'm just walk along, little kid. My grandfather
[23:03] Speaker 3: turns around. He takes his hand, he puts it right
[23:05] Speaker 3: in my chest and stops me dead in my tracks
[23:08] Speaker 3: and he holds his hand up and he goes like this.
[23:11] Speaker 3: And now, my grandfather he never touched He was not
[23:13] Speaker 3: a touchy feeling kind of guy. You never got a
[23:15] Speaker 3: hug from him. He barely gave anybody a handshake, and
[23:17] Speaker 3: he stopped me and put his hand on me, which
[23:20] Speaker 3: totally took me, like by surprise and meeting a little kid.
[23:24] Speaker 3: I'm like, whoa, what's up, what's going on? He's like,
[23:27] Speaker 3: he takes me, and I hear and it starts getting louder.
[23:30] Speaker 3: I hear these noises. It literally sounds like Andre the
[23:33] Speaker 3: Giant is like fifty feet away up on the side
[23:35] Speaker 3: of the hill, just breaking limbs, throwing stuff. You could
[23:39] Speaker 3: fill the ground, kind of shaking like it was stomping.
[23:42] Speaker 3: It was crazy. And my grandfather grabs my shoulders, turns
[23:46] Speaker 3: me around the path and kind of pushes me back,
[23:50] Speaker 3: and so I hear all this going on the whole time,
[23:53] Speaker 3: and I'm walking back up the path. We get up
[23:55] Speaker 3: on the road and then it kind of it kind
[23:57] Speaker 3: of quiets down and you don't hear anything. And I
[23:59] Speaker 3: look my grand my grandfather, I'm like, what was that?
[24:02] Speaker 3: And he's like, let's just go see if Grandma has
[24:05] Speaker 3: breakfast ready. Well, I'll come back and check that one later.
[24:08] Speaker 3: And that was it. I was like, oh, okay, again,
[24:11] Speaker 3: little kid. I had no idea. I was like, all right, okay,
[24:15] Speaker 3: but I could tell you whatever was up there that
[24:18] Speaker 3: was not a bear or even a person. It was
[24:22] Speaker 3: something just huge, massive. And then of course we go
[24:28] Speaker 3: back and Grandma makes breakfast and never talked about it.
[24:31] Speaker 3: That's the one thing I've noticed about all my family
[24:34] Speaker 3: down there. None of them will talk about it except
[24:37] Speaker 3: for this is where it starts to get interesting. So again,
[24:43] Speaker 3: my grandma and grandfather, they live alone, they don't drive,
[24:47] Speaker 3: they don't have a phone. Well, I have an uncle
[24:49] Speaker 3: that lived way back in the hills at the very
[24:52] Speaker 3: end of the road, and he would come by sometimes
[24:55] Speaker 3: and he would check on him. Hey, do you guys
[24:56] Speaker 3: need anything, How are you doing well? He came by
[24:59] Speaker 3: one evening sitting there, and he's talking to Grandpa and
[25:02] Speaker 3: he says, did you see them loggers haul out of
[25:06] Speaker 3: here real fast today? My Grandpa's like, nah, I didn't
[25:10] Speaker 3: see him. He was yeah, he goes, a bunch of
[25:13] Speaker 3: loggers said they saw something big and white and hairy
[25:16] Speaker 3: and it smelled really bad and screamed at him. He goes,
[25:19] Speaker 3: they left their coffee sitting, and they left machines running.
[25:21] Speaker 3: They just took out of there, all of them left
[25:23] Speaker 3: middle of the day. And Grandpa's like, well, that's probably
[25:27] Speaker 3: probably it. Again, my grandfather never said it, but my
[25:30] Speaker 3: uncle said a word that jumped out to me like
[25:33] Speaker 3: I will never forget. He said, must have been the calker.
[25:38] Speaker 3: And I had no idea what that meant. I said,
[25:40] Speaker 3: you know, cawker, what's a cowcher? And you know, my
[25:43] Speaker 3: uncle was telling me, you know, there's big white thing
[25:45] Speaker 3: in the woods, it's a cowker. And I had no idea.
[25:49] Speaker 3: I had no idea. And so we toward toward the
[25:56] Speaker 3: end of the summer, we actually my mom comes down
[25:58] Speaker 3: to get me and we go up to see my
[26:00] Speaker 3: great grandfather. He was still alive at the time, right,
[26:02] Speaker 3: so this was still that eighty six, probably eighty seven
[26:05] Speaker 3: at the latest. Now we go up to see my
[26:06] Speaker 3: great grandfather and he's ninety seven years old and he's
[26:10] Speaker 3: got one bad eye, and you know, he's just he's
[26:13] Speaker 3: getting up in age. And so we go see him
[26:16] Speaker 3: and I'm in the living room. I'm sitting on the couch. Again.
[26:19] Speaker 3: They have no TV. It's a very rudimentary house. They're
[26:21] Speaker 3: still using a wood cooking stove and all that, and
[26:26] Speaker 3: the house is kind of busy because you know, cousins
[26:28] Speaker 3: and family are there. They were just having to visit,
[26:30] Speaker 3: having dinner, and out of nowhere, I was like, you
[26:33] Speaker 3: know what I'm gonna ask Grandpa. So I look over
[26:35] Speaker 3: my great grandfather's sitting just directly across from me and
[26:38] Speaker 3: the recliner, and I said, Grandpa, what's a cowcher? And
[26:43] Speaker 3: you would have thought I broke a window or something.
[26:47] Speaker 3: It was like those old eighties movies where the record
[26:50] Speaker 3: scratches across, you know, and everything stops and goes dead quiet.
[26:55] Speaker 3: Everybody in the house got super like dead quiet. And
[26:59] Speaker 3: Grandpa l and that this is a haunting because you know,
[27:03] Speaker 3: he was a soul and his eye was bad. And
[27:04] Speaker 3: he gets right up to me in the edge of
[27:06] Speaker 3: that chair and I'm sitting there, and he goes, it's big,
[27:10] Speaker 3: it's white. It moves faster than any man. He goes,
[27:13] Speaker 3: If you, if you stand real still and you look
[27:15] Speaker 3: out of the corner of your eye, you'll see it
[27:17] Speaker 3: look out around the tree at you. He goes, that's
[27:21] Speaker 3: why we don't go out at night. The booger will
[27:23] Speaker 3: get you. And he just leans back in his seat,
[27:26] Speaker 3: and I'm just sitting there, just like what what so?
[27:33] Speaker 3: And then of course I had to go to my
[27:34] Speaker 3: mom and ask my mom, what's a calquer. What are
[27:36] Speaker 3: they talking about? And she's like, oh, yeah, I know.
[27:38] Speaker 3: It's been well known in our family that there's this
[27:41] Speaker 3: thing called a calcar. It's a big white monster that
[27:45] Speaker 3: lives in the woods, and that's why we don't go
[27:46] Speaker 3: out at night. She goes, when I was a little kid,
[27:48] Speaker 3: and I used to lay in bed at your aunt's
[27:50] Speaker 3: house and with with you know, her cousin, and we
[27:53] Speaker 3: always knew when it was coming in because all the
[27:56] Speaker 3: dogs would go underneath the porch and hide. And then
[28:00] Speaker 3: when you're laying there in bed, she said, we would
[28:01] Speaker 3: lay there listen. You could hear it walking up and
[28:03] Speaker 3: down the creeks, turning over rocks, big rocks. You could
[28:06] Speaker 3: hear it, but nobody would go out to see what
[28:08] Speaker 3: it was. Nobody would investigate nothing. The dogs cowered, all
[28:12] Speaker 3: the animals were quiet. She goes, you could hear it
[28:15] Speaker 3: because where my aunt lived, it was literally my aunt's house,
[28:18] Speaker 3: dirt road and then a creek with a waterfall. And
[28:20] Speaker 3: she goes, you would hear it walking this creek. And
[28:23] Speaker 3: she goes, it happened all the time, and nobody, nobody
[28:27] Speaker 3: even acted like it was anything. And that's all she
[28:29] Speaker 3: would say, And my grandma would never talk about it.
[28:33] Speaker 3: I always tried to get my grandma to talk about it.
[28:35] Speaker 3: My grandfather passed away when I was seventeen. He never
[28:38] Speaker 3: talked about it at all, but all of my family
[28:41] Speaker 3: down there know about the calker. And I thought that
[28:45] Speaker 3: was just such a weird word, like what does that mean?
[28:47] Speaker 3: Like calker? I mean kerr kerr means like hairy animal
[28:51] Speaker 3: or something, I guess, and I thought maybe it killed cows.
[28:55] Speaker 3: I don't know, but I've never heard that word any
[28:57] Speaker 3: other time than when I was talking to another podcaster
[29:02] Speaker 3: who's probably everyone knows. I don't know if it's okay
[29:04] Speaker 3: to say his name, but he's pretty pretty well known
[29:06] Speaker 3: and okay. So I was talking to West from Sasqus
[29:11] Speaker 3: Chronicles and he goes, you know, Calker, Calker, That's that's
[29:16] Speaker 3: such an unusual name. He goes, I did hear that
[29:19] Speaker 3: one time? I said, really, we're at was it in Kentucky?
[29:22] Speaker 3: He goes, Now, I was a little old man in
[29:24] Speaker 3: West Virginia and he was way up on a mountain
[29:27] Speaker 3: and he had really bad cell phone receptions so I
[29:29] Speaker 3: couldn't get him on, but he was telling me. He goes,
[29:32] Speaker 3: you know that that calker keeps coming around, and Wes
[29:35] Speaker 3: was like, what's a colcher? He goes, you know, man,
[29:37] Speaker 3: a bigfoot, And Wes was like, that's the only time
[29:41] Speaker 3: I've ever heard anyone else call it that. It was
[29:44] Speaker 3: such a unique word, and it must be specific to
[29:48] Speaker 3: that area or specific to a group of people, right,
[29:51] Speaker 3: It's just it was so strange. It was just the
[29:57] Speaker 3: weirdest time in my childhood. And as I got older
[30:00] Speaker 3: and I listened to more, you know, I witness testimonies
[30:03] Speaker 3: and more people's stories, and I connected. I was like,
[30:06] Speaker 3: the how the sulfur, the chickens, the pot, you know,
[30:10] Speaker 3: the bluff charge, all of it made perfect sense, Like
[30:14] Speaker 3: there was a I believe there was a white bigfoot
[30:18] Speaker 3: living there during however, long back to when at least
[30:22] Speaker 3: to when my grandfather, my great grandfather would go out
[30:25] Speaker 3: and walks and walk up into the hills and get
[30:27] Speaker 3: coal and all that and go fishing, so at least
[30:30] Speaker 3: that long. It's just it blows my mind. And I've
[30:34] Speaker 3: never I've never heard about it. I've never heard anyone
[30:37] Speaker 3: else call it that. And where this is located, this
[30:40] Speaker 3: is only probably less than twenty miles. As the crow
[30:44] Speaker 3: flies to like the National Daniel Boue National Forest, so
[30:50] Speaker 3: it's very right there. Yeah, it's right there. So that
[30:54] Speaker 3: kind of also made me, you know, And of course
[30:57] Speaker 3: I actually went back there this last January, and of
[30:59] Speaker 3: course my grandfather and grandmother's trailers all falling in. It's
[31:02] Speaker 3: really sad. You know, his his chair that he always
[31:05] Speaker 3: sat in, sitting out in the front yard. It's all overgrown.
[31:08] Speaker 3: And I got out and the stump is still there,
[31:10] Speaker 3: and it just it just brought back so many memories.
[31:13] Speaker 3: It was just it was crazy. It was just nuts.
[31:15] Speaker 3: But that that was a lot of the Bigfoot stuff
[31:20] Speaker 3: that happened when I was a kid. Now, as I
[31:24] Speaker 3: got older and I've listened to hundreds and hundreds of
[31:31] Speaker 3: thousands of hours of eyewitness testimonies and research and all
[31:35] Speaker 3: this time, and just I've just become fascinated. At first,
[31:38] Speaker 3: I was going to write a book, and so I thought, well,
[31:41] Speaker 3: let me do some research and write a book. So
[31:43] Speaker 3: that's what led me to start listening to Sasquatch Chronicles
[31:46] Speaker 3: and you know, some of the kind of shows and
[31:50] Speaker 3: things like that, and you know, from the Shadows and
[31:54] Speaker 3: with Shane and things like that. So I really kind
[31:57] Speaker 3: of got into that, and I obviously I binged every
[32:00] Speaker 3: one of your shows. Just my job allows me some
[32:04] Speaker 3: free time to just listen as I'm working, so I
[32:07] Speaker 3: put it on. But as I got older, I realized
[32:11] Speaker 3: that a lot of what I was told or what
[32:14] Speaker 3: happened to me as a kid had to be Bigfoot
[32:18] Speaker 3: had to be right. It's just just no other explanation.
[32:22] Speaker 1: Man, I can't imagine living through that. You put everything together,
[32:27] Speaker 1: what an incredible a group of accounts, And did have
[32:36] Speaker 1: you ever gone actively out yourself trying to figure out
[32:41] Speaker 1: really the mystery of a bigfoot? Or is it a
[32:44] Speaker 1: thing where you have this family history but you're not
[32:46] Speaker 1: really crossing that line.
[32:50] Speaker 3: So being kind of sensitive, I'm worried, right, So I have.
[32:57] Speaker 3: I did one time, and I've actually been looking for
[33:01] Speaker 3: actively looking for years for the wildlife area where my
[33:05] Speaker 3: uncle shot to pick foot, Right, I've been looking for
[33:07] Speaker 3: it forever, and I found it by accident. I found it.
[33:11] Speaker 3: I know exactly where it is now, and I've been
[33:13] Speaker 3: very skeptical to go. I don't know. I have this
[33:16] Speaker 3: feeling like like my family harmed your people? Is that
[33:23] Speaker 3: is that that sounds weird? Like I have this feeling
[33:25] Speaker 3: like like maybe it would know me because of that,
[33:27] Speaker 3: and that's not what I would want, you know, I wouldn't.
[33:30] Speaker 3: I'd be like here in peace, man, I just want
[33:32] Speaker 3: to get a glimpse of you, just to say I
[33:34] Speaker 3: did once. I don't have any you know, but I
[33:36] Speaker 3: always have that feeling deep down like maybe they would know.
[33:41] Speaker 3: And that's I know it's weird, but I kind of
[33:43] Speaker 3: kind of feel that way.
[33:45] Speaker 1: It the wildlife area. Is that anything that you would
[33:51] Speaker 1: be willing to share. I know there's probably a few
[33:53] Speaker 1: listeners that are like ask them, but if you don't
[33:55] Speaker 1: want to share, I totally respect that I can.
[33:59] Speaker 3: I can share with you. So it's called Tranquility, and
[34:03] Speaker 3: it's located in Seeman, Ohio, just outside of Seaman, Ohio,
[34:07] Speaker 3: which is about twenty minutes south of where I grew up.
[34:12] Speaker 2: I'll have to look into that.
[34:13] Speaker 1: I don't think that has ever come up in any
[34:16] Speaker 1: of my interviews, but I'll have to take a look interesting.
[34:20] Speaker 3: So I always you know, obviously I was. I. I
[34:24] Speaker 3: was in way, way, super deep when I started listening
[34:28] Speaker 3: to the podcasts and researching for my book. I was
[34:30] Speaker 3: in super deep and my family we took a trip
[34:33] Speaker 3: to Tennessee in twenty twenty two and took my daughter
[34:38] Speaker 3: and my son and we went and got a cabin
[34:41] Speaker 3: in Severeville, Tennessee, severe County and way out in the
[34:46] Speaker 3: middle of nowhere, and it was really nice. And the
[34:49] Speaker 3: first night we're there, my son was little. He was grumpy,
[34:55] Speaker 3: so I laid down with him in bed and I
[34:56] Speaker 3: fell asleep, and I woke up at like three o'clock
[34:59] Speaker 3: in the morning, like two forty five, three o'clock in
[35:01] Speaker 3: the morning. I was mad because I missed out on
[35:03] Speaker 3: you know, the hot tub and some of dinner, you know,
[35:06] Speaker 3: dessert and marshmallow. I was I was upset because I
[35:09] Speaker 3: missed all that. So I go out and this was
[35:11] Speaker 3: back when I smoked. I go out on the back
[35:12] Speaker 3: porch and I'm cleaning up around the jacuzzi where everybody
[35:15] Speaker 3: left all their towels and trash and stuff. And I'm
[35:17] Speaker 3: just cleaning and I'm smoking a cigarette and I'm standing
[35:20] Speaker 3: there and all of a sudden, up the mountain is
[35:23] Speaker 3: like right behind us, probably three hundred four hundred yards
[35:27] Speaker 3: up on the mountain, I hear one good crack and
[35:31] Speaker 3: I got all excited. I totally fanboyed out right I
[35:34] Speaker 3: got my phone out and I'm trying to get record
[35:36] Speaker 3: on and I'm like listening and listening, and it didn't
[35:39] Speaker 3: do it again. I didn't hear anything else, and it
[35:42] Speaker 3: was it was, but it was. It was so loud
[35:46] Speaker 3: and it was so late. And I told my wife
[35:48] Speaker 3: the next morning, she's like, oh, there's probably people up there.
[35:50] Speaker 3: I'm like, come here, and I point up the mountain
[35:53] Speaker 3: and she's looking and we're looking, you know, like this,
[35:56] Speaker 3: and I said, do you think you'd want to be
[35:57] Speaker 3: up there walking around the middle of the night with
[35:59] Speaker 3: no light? And she's like, no, I guess that makes sense.
[36:02] Speaker 3: I'm like, yeah, no, that was something. I'm not saying
[36:06] Speaker 3: it was bigfoot, but that was something very cool for
[36:09] Speaker 3: me just go was that my first experience? Was that
[36:13] Speaker 3: my first thing? You know, he's as little as it sounds,
[36:16] Speaker 3: since I was a little kid for me to go, wow,
[36:20] Speaker 3: I don't know.
[36:21] Speaker 1: It's so it's weird because I think you are the
[36:24] Speaker 1: third person on the show where it has been a
[36:29] Speaker 1: like a rented cabin in the Severeville, Tennessee area, And
[36:33] Speaker 1: I don't know what I mean. Yes, the smokey's so
[36:36] Speaker 1: incredibly active, but I mean, if you want to have
[36:38] Speaker 1: something happen, maybe you just need to rent a cabin
[36:41] Speaker 1: over by Severeville, because it has happened more than once
[36:45] Speaker 1: out there where people have had activity.
[36:47] Speaker 3: If we fast forward a little bit, I actually had
[36:52] Speaker 3: a sigding of something else that I'll get to in
[36:55] Speaker 3: a bit, But I had a siding also in twenty
[36:57] Speaker 3: twenty two, in October, something that was not big Foot.
[37:02] Speaker 3: But in twenty twenty four, we started going to a
[37:06] Speaker 3: campground with our friends. Some friends knew the owners of
[37:08] Speaker 3: this campground. They just bought it. So we went down
[37:11] Speaker 3: for the summer in twenty twenty four, it would have
[37:13] Speaker 3: been in June, and we took the kids and it
[37:16] Speaker 3: was like an all weekend thing. And this campground is located
[37:18] Speaker 3: about an hour from where I live. It's down in
[37:20] Speaker 3: Adams County along Brush Creek. And we had just a
[37:26] Speaker 3: great day kayaking and you know, having fun with the
[37:30] Speaker 3: kids and everything and of course the adults. That night,
[37:33] Speaker 3: we started having some drinks and you know, goofing off
[37:36] Speaker 3: and whatnot. And I kept getting this weird feeling while
[37:40] Speaker 3: I was there. Right, it was just the strangest feeling, like, man,
[37:44] Speaker 3: I really feel like I'm not like I don't know
[37:47] Speaker 3: if I'm being watched or observed or something strange, and so,
[37:52] Speaker 3: you know, I didn't think anything about it, really, I
[37:54] Speaker 3: just sat there and I got this. It was probably
[37:57] Speaker 3: it was probably pretty late. I mean we stayed up,
[38:00] Speaker 3: stayed up well past two o'clock in the morning, and
[38:03] Speaker 3: everybody was winding down and going to you know, getting
[38:05] Speaker 3: ready to go to bed. And I was just sitting
[38:07] Speaker 3: there by myself by the fire for a minute and
[38:08] Speaker 3: I got this feeling. I was like, my mind is muddy? What?
[38:16] Speaker 2: What?
[38:16] Speaker 3: What? And I literally felt like something was trying to
[38:21] Speaker 3: tell me my mind was muddy. And I kept picturing
[38:23] Speaker 3: like muddy water, and I'm like, it is just jumped out.
[38:28] Speaker 3: It was like, all of a sudden, I just felt like,
[38:30] Speaker 3: why am I being told my mind is muddy? And
[38:33] Speaker 3: then I started thinking, you know, does that mean you
[38:37] Speaker 3: think I'm because I'm drinking? Are you saying that's a
[38:40] Speaker 3: bad thing? And it was just really weird. So I
[38:44] Speaker 3: went in the tent and I laid down, and I
[38:47] Speaker 3: kid you not, I was literally laid down. I wasn't
[38:49] Speaker 3: even there two minutes and I heard crack, this huge crack,
[38:55] Speaker 3: and it was we were camped right on the rear,
[38:57] Speaker 3: like right on the river, Like I mean, there was
[38:59] Speaker 3: a ledge going straight down and we were right on
[39:02] Speaker 3: the river. And this came from what it sounded like,
[39:04] Speaker 3: on the edge of the river on our same side,
[39:07] Speaker 3: and it's probably about a seventy five foot gradual, you know,
[39:12] Speaker 3: declined down into the river from where we were, and
[39:15] Speaker 3: I heard this crack and I just laid there with
[39:17] Speaker 3: my eyes wide open, like okay, and I just I
[39:24] Speaker 3: lay there until I fell asleep. I don't know how
[39:26] Speaker 3: late it was, but I didn't hear anything else. So
[39:28] Speaker 3: the next day I get up and I start talking
[39:30] Speaker 3: to the owners of the campground, really nice ladies, really
[39:34] Speaker 3: super great ladies, and I said, hey, you know, you guys,
[39:38] Speaker 3: ever seen anything weird or hear anything weird down here?
[39:41] Speaker 3: And the owner was like, actually, this used to be
[39:44] Speaker 3: called the Bigfoot Homestead. And I'm like what, And she's like, yeah,
[39:49] Speaker 3: doctor bought this campsite because he believed that a group
[39:54] Speaker 3: of family of Bigfoot lived on this property. She goes,
[39:58] Speaker 3: we hear woodknock and breaks, and she showed me pictures
[40:02] Speaker 3: of huge footprints all kinds of stuff, and she goes, no,
[40:08] Speaker 3: you know, I didn't really believe it when we first
[40:10] Speaker 3: moved here. But my stepson he's really into it and
[40:14] Speaker 3: he's really wanting to research it more. So we went
[40:17] Speaker 3: out one night and there's a there's a cemetery just
[40:21] Speaker 3: down the road there. She's like, we went out to
[40:22] Speaker 3: the cemetery one night. We were just kind of checking
[40:24] Speaker 3: it out, and she goes, I kid you not. Something
[40:28] Speaker 3: through a huge piece of ad a cinder block at
[40:31] Speaker 3: me and came inches from hitting me. And we got
[40:35] Speaker 3: out of there. We ran, and she's like, there's all
[40:39] Speaker 3: kinds of strange stuff that happens here. She's like, I
[40:41] Speaker 3: could take you to a cave right now where there
[40:43] Speaker 3: are multiple deer carcasses and bones and all this stuff.
[40:48] Speaker 3: And she's like, I could take you up there. And
[40:53] Speaker 3: I'm like, I don't. I don't know if I want
[40:55] Speaker 3: to go, but thank you, you know. She's like, no, seriously,
[40:57] Speaker 3: it's real, and I'm like, no, I believe you. And
[41:02] Speaker 3: I still we actually are going to go go back
[41:05] Speaker 3: again on Mother's Day and go camping. But so we
[41:08] Speaker 3: left that week and nothing else weird happened. I never
[41:11] Speaker 3: went to the cave. It wasn't brave enough. But we
[41:14] Speaker 3: went back in October. And in October there was we
[41:20] Speaker 3: had a big Halloween party, so they had a haunted
[41:22] Speaker 3: trail that was all decorated with animatronics and lights and
[41:24] Speaker 3: all that stuff. And I play in a band and
[41:27] Speaker 3: my band played the party, and then after it was
[41:29] Speaker 3: all said and done, we decided we're going to goof
[41:32] Speaker 3: off and me and the singer, we're going to go
[41:34] Speaker 3: walk down the haunted trail. Just everybody's just winding down, right,
[41:39] Speaker 3: And this was late too, This was probably that two
[41:41] Speaker 3: thirty three o'clock in the morning. So we go down
[41:44] Speaker 3: the trail and I'm joking with him because I you know,
[41:46] Speaker 3: I'm telling stories about Bigfoot and all that, and he
[41:48] Speaker 3: thinks I'm just crazy, right, And I'm like, hey, grab
[41:53] Speaker 3: I got my phone out, grab one of those those
[41:55] Speaker 3: logs and smack that tree. So he picks up a
[41:59] Speaker 3: log and he's macs the tree like five times really fast,
[42:02] Speaker 3: and I'm like, well, whoa woll, how do you know
[42:04] Speaker 3: how many times to do that? What is that? Maybe
[42:05] Speaker 3: you're ringing the dinner bell. Don't just smack the tree?
[42:08] Speaker 3: And right then and there, off in the dark while
[42:11] Speaker 3: we're back on this haunted trail and you know, all
[42:13] Speaker 3: this stuff going on behind us, Right out in front
[42:15] Speaker 3: of us, about fifty feet in the bushes, you hear
[42:18] Speaker 3: something big move and you'd actually see off in the distance,
[42:22] Speaker 3: like you see, like just real quick whatever, like the
[42:24] Speaker 3: top of the bushes move. And he just stops and
[42:26] Speaker 3: looks at me, and he's like, what was that, And
[42:30] Speaker 3: I'm like, I don't know. He's like, there's no people
[42:32] Speaker 3: over there. I'm like, no, we're at the very edge
[42:34] Speaker 3: of the campground, man, this is the end of the trail.
[42:36] Speaker 3: I said, there's nobody back there, and if there is,
[42:38] Speaker 3: they're going to risk walk around on cliffs and edges
[42:41] Speaker 3: and all that. Yeah. No, no light, No, there's nobody
[42:44] Speaker 3: back there. So he just hits it again and he
[42:47] Speaker 3: breaks the law of the stick. It's probably about three
[42:49] Speaker 3: inches around. He breaks it in half, and then he's
[42:52] Speaker 3: looking at it and he just chucks it into the
[42:54] Speaker 3: bushes and I'm freaking out. I'm like, don't do that.
[42:56] Speaker 3: You don't throw things at these things. And he's like
[42:58] Speaker 3: what I said, No, you don't trust me. Historically, you
[43:01] Speaker 3: do not throw things at these things. They throw things
[43:03] Speaker 3: back and it's not good. And so he's like, well,
[43:06] Speaker 3: maybe we should get out of here. And I'm like, yeah,
[43:08] Speaker 3: let's let's leave. So we go back to camp and
[43:12] Speaker 3: he's like, do you want to do you want to
[43:13] Speaker 3: go down to the creek bed and just kind of
[43:15] Speaker 3: look around. I'm like sure, sure. I had a little
[43:18] Speaker 3: really bright spotlight flashlight and you know, my phone light.
[43:22] Speaker 3: I'm like, let's walk down there. So it's it's probably,
[43:25] Speaker 3: you know, I don't know, probably a twenty minute walk
[43:29] Speaker 3: to get down to the creek bed. And I noticed
[43:32] Speaker 3: as soon as we got down to the riverbed, I
[43:34] Speaker 3: guess it's a river. As soon as we got down
[43:36] Speaker 3: to the riverbed, the temperature dropped. I mean it went
[43:39] Speaker 3: from like feel uncomfortable wearing a hoodie to like seeing
[43:43] Speaker 3: your breath and cold, cold, cold. And he's like, that's
[43:47] Speaker 3: so weird. It's like we walked into the cold. And
[43:49] Speaker 3: I'm like, it's really weird. So he's got the light right,
[43:54] Speaker 3: and he's just nervous as heck because she's just shining
[43:57] Speaker 3: around everywhere. I'm like, got my phone and I'm filming
[44:00] Speaker 3: and I got all this on film. And he walking
[44:04] Speaker 3: around and I swear on the other side of the
[44:08] Speaker 3: river there was some bushes and a log. I swear
[44:11] Speaker 3: I saw a huge, black, furry mass. I mean we're
[44:17] Speaker 3: talking huge. But it was just within a quick second
[44:21] Speaker 3: as he was flashing the light around and I said,
[44:23] Speaker 3: do do do do do? Go go back, go back,
[44:25] Speaker 3: and he goes back and there's nothing there but the size.
[44:29] Speaker 3: I mean, we're talking like Volkswagen bug or bigger. Like
[44:33] Speaker 3: we're talking something huge was hunching over behind the foliage
[44:38] Speaker 3: and then gone. So we're sitting there, he's shining light around.
[44:42] Speaker 3: I'm like, just be really quiet for a minute. We're
[44:44] Speaker 3: gonna stand on this little peninsula the creek, you know,
[44:46] Speaker 3: the river's running around us. Let's just stand here and listen.
[44:48] Speaker 3: It was the water was really low, so let's just listen.
[44:51] Speaker 3: And as we're standing there, we hear one side of
[44:54] Speaker 3: the river and just almost within just a couple seconds later,
[44:59] Speaker 3: you hear it again. And on the audio recording you
[45:01] Speaker 3: can barely hear it. You have to really turn up,
[45:03] Speaker 3: but you can hear it. And he looks at me
[45:06] Speaker 3: and he's like, what was that? And I'm like, I've
[45:09] Speaker 3: been telling you man that you know, there's no animals
[45:13] Speaker 3: or people out here. You could see the camp way
[45:15] Speaker 3: off in the distance. It was just this little tiny
[45:17] Speaker 3: light the camp site, right. He's like, no, no, that's
[45:21] Speaker 3: that can't be now. I'm like I'm like, yeah, I'm
[45:23] Speaker 3: telling you that. He's like, well, what are we gonna do?
[45:24] Speaker 3: We don't have guns, we don't what are we going
[45:26] Speaker 3: to do? And I'm like, calm down, it's okay. I'm
[45:28] Speaker 3: more worried about, you know, bear and mountain lion. He's
[45:31] Speaker 3: like mountain lion. I'm like, just calm down. And literally
[45:35] Speaker 3: during this conversation, I stopped for a minute and you
[45:38] Speaker 3: hear this how I mean, it is this long, just
[45:44] Speaker 3: and it echoes through the through the through the valley, right,
[45:47] Speaker 3: you just hear it. And he looks at me and
[45:49] Speaker 3: he goes, was that them? And I'm like I don't know.
[45:54] Speaker 3: And I got all this recorded on my phone. Right,
[45:56] Speaker 3: So he's just like, okay, I think we need to leave.
[45:58] Speaker 3: I think we need to leave now. And he started
[46:00] Speaker 3: really panicking, and I'm like, it's okay, I've not heard
[46:04] Speaker 3: you know, you don't very often hear people getting hurt
[46:06] Speaker 3: by them, maybe scared out, but it's okay if they're here,
[46:08] Speaker 3: you know. He's trying to be like, it's okay. If
[46:10] Speaker 3: they're here, and he's like, no, no, no, no, no, no no,
[46:12] Speaker 3: we gotta leave. So we get back up the creek
[46:14] Speaker 3: bed and there's this long field to get back to
[46:16] Speaker 3: the camp and it's surrounded on both sides by woods.
[46:18] Speaker 3: You got the creek on one side with woods, and
[46:20] Speaker 3: then you got the woods on the other side and
[46:23] Speaker 3: on the other side. As we're walking, we're just being
[46:25] Speaker 3: kind of quiet to see if we can hear anything else.
[46:27] Speaker 3: We hear what sounds like a whimper or like something
[46:32] Speaker 3: big whimpering, not like a dog whimper, but like, I
[46:36] Speaker 3: don't know, like it hurt itself or stepped on something,
[46:38] Speaker 3: or just this weird, strange noise. And he immediately stops
[46:42] Speaker 3: and shines the light over there, and I'm like, what
[46:45] Speaker 3: was that. He's like, I don't know what was that.
[46:47] Speaker 3: And I'm like, haven't heard that noise before. That was
[46:49] Speaker 3: really strange. He's like, yeah, we should get out of here.
[46:51] Speaker 3: So we left and we didn't experience anything. We left
[46:57] Speaker 3: early the next morning, so we didn't experience anything. But
[47:00] Speaker 3: the owner of the campsite has told me that they've
[47:04] Speaker 3: had a lot of people come down there and research
[47:07] Speaker 3: and camp out and that kind of takes me back
[47:12] Speaker 3: to my siding, so because it all is connected. Right.
[47:17] Speaker 3: So in twenty twenty two, in October, I was taking
[47:23] Speaker 3: my daughter home from a choir recital. My wife and
[47:27] Speaker 3: my youngest stayed home because he was little, and it
[47:29] Speaker 3: was just the two of us driving home and we're
[47:32] Speaker 3: only about, you know, a couple of miles outside of town,
[47:35] Speaker 3: and we saw what I can only describe as a
[47:40] Speaker 3: giant wolf run across the road, I mean huge. And
[47:51] Speaker 3: I looked at my daughter. I kind of elbowed her
[47:52] Speaker 3: and I said, you see that, and she just looks
[47:55] Speaker 3: something and goes big dog. And I'm like, uh, that
[47:58] Speaker 3: was not a big dog, and had a mane like
[48:02] Speaker 3: a lion, big pointed ears, long snout. It was just
[48:08] Speaker 3: crazy looking, and it moved so fast. Had I been
[48:10] Speaker 3: just one second or two seconds, you know, later or earlier,
[48:15] Speaker 3: I probably wouldn't have seen how fast the think covered
[48:18] Speaker 3: across the road from one empty creek, bed over into
[48:21] Speaker 3: a field and disappeared. Well, they were doing construction on
[48:24] Speaker 3: the bridge. I just crossed the bridge and I went
[48:27] Speaker 3: back and I took a tape measure. I stopped. I
[48:28] Speaker 3: was that crazy guy, right, I stopped on the side
[48:30] Speaker 3: road and take a tape measure out and I measure
[48:32] Speaker 3: and the shoulders where one of the signs were for
[48:36] Speaker 3: construction was like four foot seven at the shoulders. It
[48:42] Speaker 3: was huge. And I didn't I had no idea what
[48:46] Speaker 3: I saw, right, I just I've heard about dog Man
[48:49] Speaker 3: and all that stuff, but I had no idea what
[48:50] Speaker 3: I saw. Well, I didn't know. But I was talking
[48:53] Speaker 3: to the owner of the campground and in October of
[48:56] Speaker 3: twenty twenty two, she saw a huge wolf like creature
[49:01] Speaker 3: but it was on two legs running through the same campsite,
[49:05] Speaker 3: the camp area, right in a field. And she's like,
[49:08] Speaker 3: I've never heard of that before. And I explained to
[49:10] Speaker 3: her dog Man, I said, you know, I saw something
[49:12] Speaker 3: at the same time, and so she was just it
[49:15] Speaker 3: was really weird that we'd both seen it in the
[49:17] Speaker 3: same month, an hour apart from each other. I saw
[49:21] Speaker 3: it on a creek, you know, a pretty good sized creek.
[49:24] Speaker 3: She was she just got the campsite right on the river.
[49:27] Speaker 3: It was just weird. It was all very strange. So
[49:32] Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't know what I saw, but
[49:34] Speaker 3: I I don't know. It wasn't natural way. It moved
[49:38] Speaker 3: in a way that was not natural. I can tell
[49:39] Speaker 3: you that for sure. It moved like like something out
[49:43] Speaker 3: of this world. Like the legs were so fast, it
[49:45] Speaker 3: was like a blur. But I saw the main I
[49:48] Speaker 3: saw the ears, I saw the snout. In my mind,
[49:50] Speaker 3: I grew up watching werewolf movies. I thought it looked
[49:53] Speaker 3: like something like American Werewolf in London or oh d me.
[49:57] Speaker 3: Oh yeah. If you ever seen the movie Willow.
[50:01] Speaker 2: Yeah, oh yeah, classic eighties right.
[50:03] Speaker 3: You remember the big wolf like creatures in Willow with
[50:06] Speaker 3: the big shaggy mane Yes, it looked like that, but bigger.
[50:10] Speaker 2: Ugh. I hate dog man stuff.
[50:13] Speaker 1: I mean, maybe that's no, it's okay to say that.
[50:16] Speaker 1: I don't like it. It freaks me out, it really does.
[50:19] Speaker 1: There's nothing good about it.
[50:21] Speaker 3: It really freaked me out, and it had an effect
[50:25] Speaker 3: on me. It's gonna sound crazy, but ever since I
[50:29] Speaker 3: saw it, I have very strange dreams. I had one
[50:34] Speaker 3: very vivid night tare where I saw a big, giant
[50:40] Speaker 3: wolf shadow standing in the corner and I freaked out
[50:43] Speaker 3: so bad. I woke up screaming and I fell out
[50:45] Speaker 3: of bed. I woke up my wife like and you know,
[50:48] Speaker 3: flip on the lights. There's nothing there I had. I
[50:50] Speaker 3: don't know if it's just in my mind, but I've
[50:53] Speaker 3: had some really really strange, strange dreams, some that are
[50:58] Speaker 3: really out there. Like I'm me living my life, but
[51:04] Speaker 3: my family is all different, right, Like my son, I
[51:06] Speaker 3: know he's my son, doesn't look like my son. My wife,
[51:10] Speaker 3: I know she's my wife, but she doesn't look like her.
[51:14] Speaker 3: And they are all these unfamiliar faces, new house, new places.
[51:18] Speaker 3: Weird things happen in these dreams, but there's always this
[51:21] Speaker 3: like lurking, dark presence, always in the background. It. When
[51:27] Speaker 3: I first saw this thing, I had them regularly. I
[51:29] Speaker 3: would have them two or three times a week. Now
[51:31] Speaker 3: I only have them probably once a month. But I
[51:34] Speaker 3: still have these strange dreams. And they say you can't
[51:37] Speaker 3: dream about a face you've never seen, but I've seen
[51:42] Speaker 3: faces I can't.
[51:43] Speaker 2: You can. You absolutely can. One hundred.
[51:50] Speaker 1: You have lived through some wild, wild stuff. I have
[51:52] Speaker 1: a few questions for you. One, I want to make
[51:56] Speaker 1: sure I don't skip past it. Do you want to
[51:58] Speaker 1: share I'm just curious. Well, if you're able to share
[52:02] Speaker 1: the name of your band.
[52:04] Speaker 3: Oh yeah, no, Mike, my band is called firefour One
[52:07] Speaker 3: so fire the number four one, fire full.
[52:09] Speaker 1: One, fire for one Okay, and where's the best place
[52:13] Speaker 1: to listen to that?
[52:16] Speaker 3: We haven't officially recorded anything yet. You can check out
[52:19] Speaker 3: a lot of our videos of our recording and stuff
[52:21] Speaker 3: on Facebook at Firefox one. There's a lot of you know,
[52:25] Speaker 3: we don't really do things very seriously. We just kind of,
[52:28] Speaker 3: you know, play parties and events and festivals and but
[52:32] Speaker 3: we are working on writing an album currently.
[52:34] Speaker 1: So nice, nice, yeah, send me links when when that's out.
[52:38] Speaker 1: I'd love to love to listen to that. I'm sure
[52:40] Speaker 1: other other listeners would as well. So you're saying, I
[52:44] Speaker 1: just want to make sure I hear this. So that
[52:45] Speaker 1: campground not only has bigfoot activity, but that's also where
[52:49] Speaker 1: you saw that dog man as well. It's the same area.
[52:52] Speaker 3: That's where the owner saw the dog man. She saw
[52:54] Speaker 3: it in the same the same year that I saw it,
[52:56] Speaker 3: and they're about an hour apart.
[52:58] Speaker 2: Okay, gotcha, got you?
[53:00] Speaker 3: Yeah, I saw it just out. I saw it ten
[53:03] Speaker 3: minutes from my house, which made me super nervous. Yeah,
[53:06] Speaker 3: it made me like I turn on all the floodlights
[53:09] Speaker 3: every night now. I you know, we have cameras up.
[53:12] Speaker 3: I live on a lake and you know it's it's
[53:15] Speaker 3: a subdivision, but it's still it's still creeped me out
[53:17] Speaker 3: enough to you know, to take a little extra precautions
[53:20] Speaker 3: based on what I've absolutely just crazy.
[53:24] Speaker 1: The I'm just going to ask, as it's it's my
[53:28] Speaker 1: job and you don't have to, of course, but are
[53:32] Speaker 1: you able to share the name of the campground or
[53:35] Speaker 1: is that something where I know, sometimes we have places
[53:38] Speaker 1: we go to and we don't want to really have
[53:41] Speaker 1: the rest of the world messing around with it.
[53:43] Speaker 2: I get that, but.
[53:45] Speaker 3: No, so I really don't want to say and I'll
[53:48] Speaker 3: tell you why. Okay, after my wolf Preacher siding, I
[53:55] Speaker 3: met with a member of the BFROO. They actually came
[53:58] Speaker 3: out to investigate and meet me on site, and which
[54:03] Speaker 3: I thought was weird because I didn't think they came
[54:06] Speaker 3: for dog man related stuff, right, And I don't know
[54:09] Speaker 3: if he was there on his own personal court or
[54:11] Speaker 3: he was doing something for the b f ROO. I
[54:13] Speaker 3: don't think there's a report on it. And I got
[54:16] Speaker 3: talking with him and he said, you know, I was like, Hey,
[54:20] Speaker 3: I really want to go to like Salt Fork or
[54:23] Speaker 3: you know, all the big hot spots. I really want
[54:25] Speaker 3: to go check out and I want to get involved.
[54:26] Speaker 3: I want to I want to go out more and
[54:27] Speaker 3: do more research and be involved in the community and somehow.
[54:32] Speaker 3: And he's like, you know, you don't have to go
[54:34] Speaker 3: far to to you know, look for Bigfoot. He goes,
[54:40] Speaker 3: you know, I put my l DRS or or l
[54:45] Speaker 3: ORD whatever they are, the long.
[54:48] Speaker 2: Long term duration field recorders, those guys.
[54:50] Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that's it, he was. I put them about
[54:53] Speaker 3: an hour from here, and I'm like, oh, okay. But
[54:57] Speaker 3: at the time I didn't know. I hadn't been to
[54:59] Speaker 3: the campus yet. This was twenty twenty two. I didn't know.
[55:03] Speaker 3: And I would later find out from the camp owners
[55:06] Speaker 3: that he's out there frequently putting up his equipment. So
[55:10] Speaker 3: that's why I did, got it. Yeah, I didn't want
[55:12] Speaker 3: to share, but that's that's the only reason I wouldn't,
[55:15] Speaker 3: because I wouldn't want to step on his research without
[55:18] Speaker 3: his permission or anything. He's a great guy. I really
[55:20] Speaker 3: like that.
[55:20] Speaker 2: Yeah, totally totally understand that.
[55:22] Speaker 1: I will say, Adams County has come up a few
[55:25] Speaker 1: times on the show, and man, if I was in Ohio,
[55:29] Speaker 1: that's where I would be focusing on. If I was
[55:31] Speaker 1: in that corner definitely Adams County. That place just sounds wild.
[55:35] Speaker 1: And then you've got the Serpent Mounds over there, right.
[55:39] Speaker 3: Yeah. It's Actually it's funny because the last time we
[55:41] Speaker 3: camped in October of twenty four, we actually stopped at
[55:46] Speaker 3: Serpent Mount on the way home because it's right down
[55:48] Speaker 3: the road. I mean it's literally twenty minutes down the
[55:51] Speaker 3: road from our house. Super Mount is, and we stopped
[55:54] Speaker 3: there and we walked around and I hadn't been since
[55:56] Speaker 3: I was a kid, and it was super cool, which
[55:59] Speaker 3: is funny because there's another Bigfoot story there. We go
[56:02] Speaker 3: into the shop and in the shop there's this young
[56:05] Speaker 3: girl working there, and they've got a couple of bigfoot things.
[56:08] Speaker 3: Not a lot, you know, but a couple. You know.
[56:10] Speaker 3: I was looking at like some mugs and things like that.
[56:13] Speaker 3: And we walked up to the desk and my wife
[56:16] Speaker 3: is kidding me, you know, she's teasing me about bigfoot,
[56:18] Speaker 3: you know, and the girl behind the counter goes, oh, no,
[56:21] Speaker 3: Bigfoot's real, and with that serious face, and my wife
[56:26] Speaker 3: is like, yeah, okay, you know, and she's like, no,
[56:28] Speaker 3: the BFRO has been to my house. They've investigated. I
[56:32] Speaker 3: live near in Adams County, She's like, yeah, they've been there,
[56:35] Speaker 3: they've they've been there a couple of times. We have
[56:37] Speaker 3: lots of activity. She goes, I'll tell you right now,
[56:39] Speaker 3: Bigfoot is real. And I'm like, oh my goodness, I
[56:44] Speaker 3: started fanboying again. I was just okay, but she didn't want,
[56:48] Speaker 3: you know, got she got busy with other customers and
[56:50] Speaker 3: I didn't get a chance to talk to her, but
[56:53] Speaker 3: she told me flat out they've been here.
[56:56] Speaker 1: Is so, this is a gift shop at Serpent Mouse.
[56:58] Speaker 1: That's that's like a is that National park? No, it's
[57:02] Speaker 1: not a national park.
[57:04] Speaker 3: Excuse me.
[57:06] Speaker 2: So it's just that's just like a locally owned gift shop.
[57:09] Speaker 2: Then that you're in right.
[57:15] Speaker 4: So sorry, Oh you're good, roadstry. No losing my voice? No,
[57:28] Speaker 4: that's actually, oh my.
[57:29] Speaker 3: God, I can't talk.
[57:31] Speaker 2: You're you're saying stuff that now, Man, that happened. That's crazy.
[57:35] Speaker 3: Wow.
[57:35] Speaker 2: Yeah, I get taken take a few minutes. Definitely.
[57:41] Speaker 3: I am so sorry.
[57:42] Speaker 4: I don't know what what happened there. I'm losing my
[57:43] Speaker 4: voice all of a sudden. That's so weird. So the
[57:48] Speaker 4: gift shop is actually in the Mountain Park. It's actually
[57:53] Speaker 4: on my feet from where you go into the park.
[57:56] Speaker 4: So it's actually part of the Serpent.
[57:58] Speaker 2: Mount Okay, and that's a federally owned park.
[58:03] Speaker 3: I assume, so yah, I should know this.
[58:05] Speaker 2: I gotta look it up real quick because it's called
[58:09] Speaker 2: Great Serpent or a Serpent Mound Mound Park, Ohio.
[58:18] Speaker 3: All kinds of crazy stuff happens there, like is electromagnetic stuff.
[58:23] Speaker 2: It's a historical site.
[58:24] Speaker 1: Okay, I don't think it's it's federally owned, but I
[58:31] Speaker 1: know it's a huge deal though.
[58:32] Speaker 2: Okay, that's so interesting.
[58:33] Speaker 1: I know people in the comments will probably be able
[58:35] Speaker 1: to let me know what's going on over there. But
[58:37] Speaker 1: my goodness, you are definitely you have gone through some
[58:40] Speaker 1: wild accounts. I mean, you've lived through some wild things
[58:44] Speaker 1: over these years. I can tell or if I was
[58:47] Speaker 1: in your situation, I'd probably be at the point where
[58:49] Speaker 1: I'm like, okay, yeah, I need to maybe not go
[58:54] Speaker 1: too crazy with this, because, as you said, you're sensitive
[58:57] Speaker 1: and you don't know really where or this is going
[59:01] Speaker 1: to end up if you if you go for it.
[59:02] Speaker 2: I don't know what you're thinking.
[59:04] Speaker 3: But no, I kind of feel that way once I
[59:07] Speaker 3: got the muddy Water thing in my head. Nothing like
[59:10] Speaker 3: that's really ever happened before. It was really strange, and
[59:12] Speaker 3: nothing like that's happened since then other than the strange dreams.
[59:16] Speaker 3: But yeah, I kind of I'm kind of tour because
[59:18] Speaker 3: I I want more than anything to just see one,
[59:23] Speaker 3: but at a distance, right, like just see one safely,
[59:27] Speaker 3: maybe from a car or from you know, far away
[59:29] Speaker 3: through a telescope or something. I would be okay with
[59:32] Speaker 3: just seeing, you know, a glimpse, just to satisfy this.
[59:36] Speaker 3: You know, from my childhood, I I know what was
[59:39] Speaker 3: so close to me when I was little. I know
[59:41] Speaker 3: this thing was like right there and I couldn't see it.
[59:44] Speaker 3: I was a little kid. There were you know, tall
[59:47] Speaker 3: weeds and all that. Like I wonder if my grandfather
[59:50] Speaker 3: saw it. I wonder, you know. I just have that
[59:51] Speaker 3: feeling like I just want to see one again. But
[59:53] Speaker 3: I'm terrified too, because, like I said, I just get
[59:57] Speaker 3: the feeling like maybe they wouldn't like me because of
[1:00:00] Speaker 3: whatever my family did in the past. And that sounds weird,
[1:00:02] Speaker 3: but I kind of have that feeling. Mmm.
[1:00:08] Speaker 1: I don't know how you feel about this, but it
[1:00:10] Speaker 1: might be maybe worth a conversation to have. And I
[1:00:18] Speaker 1: don't know how you feel about that, but it might.
[1:00:20] Speaker 1: Hey guys, you know this happened in my family relative tree.
[1:00:23] Speaker 1: But you know, I'm not the kind of guy that
[1:00:26] Speaker 1: would do this myself. But I don't know how you
[1:00:28] Speaker 1: feel about that. Some people are open to that.
[1:00:31] Speaker 3: But that's exactly what I was going to do if
[1:00:34] Speaker 3: I went to, yeah, where my uncle shot the spot,
[1:00:37] Speaker 3: That's exactly what I was going to do. And I
[1:00:39] Speaker 3: do when I'm out, you know, in some of these
[1:00:42] Speaker 3: areas and stuff, I do talk to the you know,
[1:00:45] Speaker 3: absolutely I do. And that's exactly what I would do.
[1:00:48] Speaker 3: I picture myself, you know, going to to tranquility, getting
[1:00:51] Speaker 3: out and saying, hey, the sorry I am, I'm here.
[1:00:56] Speaker 3: I mean any harm, just you know, come to visit.
[1:01:00] Speaker 3: You know, I don't. I don't don't hold anything against
[1:01:04] Speaker 3: me for what my family's done, you know, that kind
[1:01:05] Speaker 3: of thing. That's exactly what I would picture doing.
[1:01:10] Speaker 2: I agree with you.
[1:01:11] Speaker 1: I think that just based on all, you know, different
[1:01:16] Speaker 1: conversations I've had, I think that is the right way
[1:01:19] Speaker 1: to handle things. And I know that's a super polarizing
[1:01:23] Speaker 1: conversation in the community. But hey man, at the end
[1:01:25] Speaker 1: of the day, I'm right there with you.
[1:01:27] Speaker 3: So now I do have one more for you, Jeremiah.
[1:01:33] Speaker 3: So I'm always wearing bigfoot shirts and stuff. My wife
[1:01:37] Speaker 3: and kids are always buying me stuff. And where I live,
[1:01:40] Speaker 3: I have like a little separate deck from the house.
[1:01:43] Speaker 3: The fire pits between me and my neighbors. And I'm
[1:01:47] Speaker 3: sitting out there one day and it's just getting dusk.
[1:01:50] Speaker 3: I just lit up a fire. This I think this
[1:01:52] Speaker 3: was last summer, probably in July. Yeah, I'm sitting out
[1:01:58] Speaker 3: there and I'm just chill by the fire, just got
[1:02:01] Speaker 3: the fire going, just planning on sitting by the fire
[1:02:03] Speaker 3: for the night. And my neighbor comes over and he
[1:02:07] Speaker 3: sees my shirt and it's like a Hawking Hill's big
[1:02:10] Speaker 3: foot shirt or something, and he's like, hey, you into that.
[1:02:15] Speaker 3: And I'm like, you could say that, you know, in
[1:02:18] Speaker 3: the back of my mind you could. You could say that.
[1:02:21] Speaker 3: And he's like, you know, most people don't believe in that,
[1:02:25] Speaker 3: and I said, oh, I absolutely do. And he kind
[1:02:26] Speaker 3: of leans over. He's like, well, can I tell you something?
[1:02:29] Speaker 3: And I said, yeah, man, you can tell me. You know,
[1:02:31] Speaker 3: we've been neighbors for years, tell me whatever you want.
[1:02:34] Speaker 3: He goes about about ten years ago, me and my
[1:02:37] Speaker 3: buddies were about I don't know, twenty miles from here,
[1:02:42] Speaker 3: and they were more towards Chilli Coffee area, and he
[1:02:46] Speaker 3: said that they were coon hunting, but they were really
[1:02:51] Speaker 3: sneaking onto this. I guess it's like a deer farm
[1:02:54] Speaker 3: when they raise deer hoping to maybe you know, snag
[1:02:58] Speaker 3: a buck in the middle of the night and not
[1:03:02] Speaker 3: maybe you're not supposed to do that. But he said
[1:03:05] Speaker 3: they were out and they're walking along and they look
[1:03:08] Speaker 3: up in the in the fork of this tree, about
[1:03:11] Speaker 3: twenty feet up in the air. And here's this big
[1:03:13] Speaker 3: buck twenty feet up in the air in this fork
[1:03:16] Speaker 3: of this tree. And he goes, it was really weird.
[1:03:20] Speaker 3: None of us could figure out how that deer got
[1:03:22] Speaker 3: up in that tree. And he goes, about that time,
[1:03:25] Speaker 3: we started smelling something really bad, and I was like,
[1:03:27] Speaker 3: thinking of my head, Okay, I know where you're going
[1:03:29] Speaker 3: with this. Come on, let's let's hear it. He goes.
[1:03:31] Speaker 3: We shine the lighter, the light around. Everybody's got their spotlights.
[1:03:34] Speaker 3: They shine around and we saw two big red glowing
[1:03:36] Speaker 3: eyes and we bolted. He goes, all but one of
[1:03:41] Speaker 3: my buddies. He stayed behind me. He's like, well, let's
[1:03:43] Speaker 3: see what it is, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna
[1:03:45] Speaker 3: see what this is or shoot it or something. And
[1:03:48] Speaker 3: so they all tear back to the trucks and you know,
[1:03:51] Speaker 3: they get back and then within just a few like
[1:03:55] Speaker 3: not even a minute later, he comes running and screaming
[1:03:58] Speaker 3: and doesn't even have his gun, doesn't have anything. And
[1:04:01] Speaker 3: he jumps in the bed of the truck and one
[1:04:03] Speaker 3: of the other guys' is back there and they're shining
[1:04:05] Speaker 3: a light on him. They could see his leg is
[1:04:06] Speaker 3: completely ripped open from thigh to calf, and he's like,
[1:04:11] Speaker 3: what what happened? What happens? He's like, just go, just go,
[1:04:14] Speaker 3: just go, get out of here. So they took off,
[1:04:17] Speaker 3: and he says the thing tried to grab him, and
[1:04:21] Speaker 3: that's what the fingernails or calls were from him. He
[1:04:23] Speaker 3: said it tried to grab him, and luckily he had
[1:04:26] Speaker 3: fallen and dropped his gun right when it was grabbing him,
[1:04:30] Speaker 3: and he was able to get away. And he jumps
[1:04:33] Speaker 3: in the car and takes off and I said, man,
[1:04:35] Speaker 3: I want to talk to this guy. You still got
[1:04:38] Speaker 3: his number you for instance, on Facebook. I want to
[1:04:40] Speaker 3: talk to this guy. And he's like, you know, he
[1:04:42] Speaker 3: used to show up to parties and show us the scars.
[1:04:45] Speaker 3: He would always it was like a party thing. He
[1:04:46] Speaker 3: would bring it, you know, he'd show up and show
[1:04:48] Speaker 3: everybody the scars. And he goes that that guy he
[1:04:51] Speaker 3: went to a whole nother level. He got on drugs
[1:04:54] Speaker 3: really bad, got super depressed. He's like, he was bringing
[1:04:57] Speaker 3: up his phone, He's trying to find it. He's not
[1:04:58] Speaker 3: even on Facebook anymore. He's like, wouldn't even know how
[1:05:00] Speaker 3: to get a hold of him. He's like, but I
[1:05:01] Speaker 3: can tell you whatever happened to him really messed him up.
[1:05:06] Speaker 3: And he said that he's seen the scars. He saw
[1:05:09] Speaker 3: it that night. He said whatever tried to get a
[1:05:11] Speaker 3: hold of him just tore right down his leg and
[1:05:15] Speaker 3: he said it was some kind of hairy monster. Which
[1:05:20] Speaker 3: I'm just sitting there shaking my head, like, I did
[1:05:22] Speaker 3: not expect you to come over and tell me this story.
[1:05:24] Speaker 3: I thought we're going to talk about, you know, barbecue
[1:05:26] Speaker 3: or grass cutting or you know, our normal conversations. I
[1:05:29] Speaker 3: did not see this coming. He's like, no, really happened.
[1:05:32] Speaker 3: He goes, but I don't tell anybody. He goes, nobody
[1:05:35] Speaker 3: believe me. I'm like, I believe you. I absolutely believe you.
[1:05:39] Speaker 3: Trust me.
[1:05:41] Speaker 2: Wow, that Adams County as well, so.
[1:05:44] Speaker 3: That that would have been Ross County.
[1:05:47] Speaker 2: Ross County, Okay, So yeah, so.
[1:05:49] Speaker 3: That would have been Ross. But you got you got Hyland,
[1:05:52] Speaker 3: Ross and Adams right, and then you got Pike County.
[1:05:55] Speaker 3: So it's all all right there. And I know there
[1:05:57] Speaker 3: have been reports in like tar Hollow. It's a funny story.
[1:06:02] Speaker 3: My wife and I actually got lost in tar Hollow
[1:06:04] Speaker 3: when we were younger in a car. We got lost
[1:06:06] Speaker 3: in the car and couldn't get our way out of
[1:06:08] Speaker 3: there for hours. But I've heard people saying it's goodness
[1:06:11] Speaker 3: there's activity there and you know, people getting lost and
[1:06:14] Speaker 3: disappearing and being found. All kinds of weird stuff happens there.
[1:06:17] Speaker 3: And that's like thirty minutes from our house.
[1:06:21] Speaker 1: Scott, such a such a fascinating conversation. I just want
[1:06:24] Speaker 1: to say thank you so much for coming on the
[1:06:27] Speaker 1: show sharing some really incredible accounts from down there around
[1:06:33] Speaker 1: Ohio and Kentucky and is there are some incredibly active
[1:06:37] Speaker 1: areas down there. You know, as when you signed up,
[1:06:43] Speaker 1: you're okay with with your email being in the the
[1:06:47] Speaker 1: description for people to reach out to you, is that
[1:06:50] Speaker 1: Is that still okay?
[1:06:51] Speaker 3: Yeah? Okay, so I'm okay with that.
[1:06:53] Speaker 1: Yeah, the gmail dot com. So people want to reach out,
[1:06:55] Speaker 1: they kind of send a description. But thank you so
[1:06:58] Speaker 1: much for coming on the show. Is there any else
[1:07:01] Speaker 1: you know? I guess you're at the point where uh no,
[1:07:05] Speaker 1: not a lot of presence online for the band, but
[1:07:08] Speaker 1: maybe eventually we'll we'll get some links where people can
[1:07:11] Speaker 1: check that out.
[1:07:12] Speaker 3: Yeah. And then also, I'm really really going to try
[1:07:18] Speaker 3: to kick off my own podcast nice, so I'm going
[1:07:21] Speaker 3: to do kind of a different spin on it. My
[1:07:24] Speaker 3: wife is actually trained in AI, and are you know,
[1:07:28] Speaker 3: she's got all these certifications in machine learning AI and
[1:07:30] Speaker 3: all this stuff. And I said, how cool would it
[1:07:32] Speaker 3: be if I brought you on, because she's a complete skeptic.
[1:07:36] Speaker 3: If I brought you on a podcast and I showed
[1:07:38] Speaker 3: you some videos and some photos of things that I
[1:07:40] Speaker 3: think are real, and you give me your input, right,
[1:07:43] Speaker 3: you tell me what you think?
[1:07:45] Speaker 2: That's all, dude.
[1:07:47] Speaker 3: Yeah, we take, we take other people, have other people
[1:07:50] Speaker 3: submit things, and you can tell me what your thought is.
[1:07:54] Speaker 3: Because she's she's a photographer, digital photographer, like she she's
[1:07:58] Speaker 3: does it all. She knows all all of it, and
[1:08:00] Speaker 3: I said that would be so helpful because we get
[1:08:03] Speaker 3: we're so overpolluted with AI crap right now and fake stuff.
[1:08:07] Speaker 3: I said, I would love for you to be the
[1:08:09] Speaker 3: one to come on and then see your face, like,
[1:08:11] Speaker 3: because I want to see your reaction to some of
[1:08:13] Speaker 3: the stuff that I think is real, and then that
[1:08:16] Speaker 3: kind of be the premise right of our show. And
[1:08:18] Speaker 3: I've already got several several people interested in coming on
[1:08:22] Speaker 3: and being interviewed. But we're going to call it Monsters
[1:08:25] Speaker 3: and matrimony because right so, I'm the believer, she's a skeptic.
[1:08:30] Speaker 2: And there you go. I love it. Very cool.
[1:08:32] Speaker 3: So we're going to try to get that started up
[1:08:34] Speaker 3: and get that at least get it piloted next month.
[1:08:38] Speaker 2: Awesome.
[1:08:38] Speaker 1: Yeah, have me send me the link when you you
[1:08:41] Speaker 1: get that up and rolling, and we'll make sure that
[1:08:43] Speaker 1: it's out there. But yes, Scott, thank you so much
[1:08:45] Speaker 1: for coming on the show. It's been a pleasure talking
[1:08:47] Speaker 1: to you today.
[1:08:49] Speaker 3: Absolutely, thank you for having me, buddy, I'm I'm a
[1:08:51] Speaker 3: big fan.
[1:08:52] Speaker 1: Thank you. I appreciate that. Have you ever heard all
[1:08:56] Speaker 1: the accounts of bigfoot activity around Oakridge, Ore Again, and
[1:09:00] Speaker 1: you think to yourself. Man, I would love to get
