Two unforgettable encounters from the Pacific Northwest take center stage in this episode of Bigfoot Society. A hiker exploring the rugged mountains of Washington's Olympic Peninsula describes a series of powerful four-part grunts that followed his group deeper into remote terrain before erupting from just beyond a wall of boulders. Years later, the experience still stands as one of the most unsettling moments of his life. Then travel back to Oregon in 1989, where two teenage backpackers stopped for the night at a quiet campground north of Crater Lake. Heavy bipedal footsteps entered their campsite, an unseen presence paused only feet away, and multiple eerie howls sent them racing into the night. These firsthand accounts are shared exactly as the witnesses remember them, offering another compelling look into the growing collection of experiences documented by Bigfoot Society. 📖 Follow Jeremiah's cancer health updates here: https://www.caringbridge.org/site/569ef3d3-68be-11f1-8790-97fdfd2bbc64 🗣️ Share Your Story Had a Bigfoot encounter or strange experience? [0:51] Speaker 1: How are you doing, Sirrey?
[0:53] Speaker 2: Good? Good good.
[0:55] Speaker 1: Now feel free to share what's on your mind.
[1:00] Speaker 2: This was back in Let's say so well. Let me
[1:05] Speaker 2: let me start over. So I was living in Minnesota
[1:12] Speaker 2: of my life. When I was younger, in my twenties,
[1:16] Speaker 2: I decided I wanted to move out to Washington State.
[1:21] Speaker 2: I had a friend that lived out there, and he
[1:26] Speaker 2: got me to come out and and live with him
[1:30] Speaker 2: out there, and he was telling me about the Olympic
[1:35] Speaker 2: Peninsula and how great all the hiking and diverse the
[1:39] Speaker 2: forest was. And and so we did a number of
[1:44] Speaker 2: hikes to different locations around the Olympic Forest in the
[1:51] Speaker 2: Olympic Peninsula, and one particular hike we had another friend
[1:59] Speaker 2: come out h and to visit and and we, uh,
[2:05] Speaker 2: I don't because because I I tried to recall where
[2:12] Speaker 2: exactly we were, and I I I had asked my buddies.
[2:16] Speaker 2: Now this was probably about a year ago, you know,
[2:21] Speaker 2: where exactly we were, and and they thought it was Staircase.
[2:25] Speaker 2: But I've gone back and looked at at at Staircase
[2:30] Speaker 2: and and see what happened was was it was early
[2:33] Speaker 2: spring and and the snow was still still there. As
[2:41] Speaker 2: you as you gain elevation, the snow got more and more.
[2:44] Speaker 2: So we were using back then of course, there were
[2:48] Speaker 2: just no you know, phones or anything like that, so
[2:51] Speaker 2: so we used topographical maps and we were able to
[2:55] Speaker 2: kind of like kind of parallel the trail, but we
[3:00] Speaker 2: were definitely off the trail. And so, you know, going
[3:07] Speaker 2: going back to to why they thought it was staircase
[3:12] Speaker 2: was and then now I use those topographical maps and
[3:17] Speaker 2: I look up there and and what we were kind
[3:19] Speaker 2: of going for was this ranger station up on top
[3:23] Speaker 2: of this on top of this mountain. And we're like, yeah,
[3:29] Speaker 2: let's let's let's work our way up. Let's see if
[3:31] Speaker 2: we can get up to that range station. Now, we
[3:33] Speaker 2: were in our early twenties. We were in great shape.
[3:37] Speaker 2: You know, we could do anything. So we now going
[3:43] Speaker 2: back to looking at the maps. I looked at Staircase
[3:48] Speaker 2: and there's no ranger station up. We had spent one
[3:53] Speaker 2: night prior, got there like mid afternoon, spent the night,
[3:58] Speaker 2: got up the next day hiking down the trail, So
[4:01] Speaker 2: I mean we weren't I would say, you know, maybe
[4:06] Speaker 2: four to five miles in when we lost the trail
[4:10] Speaker 2: and yeah, there was there was no ranger station up
[4:14] Speaker 2: on Staircase. So I'm not convinced that that's where we were.
[4:17] Speaker 2: But anyway, we started to ascend the mountain, got off
[4:26] Speaker 2: the trail, ran into the snow. We ended up kind
[4:30] Speaker 2: of looking at the map and going, you know, if
[4:31] Speaker 2: we just traverse this mountain side, we can get up
[4:35] Speaker 2: to the top of this mountain and just you know,
[4:40] Speaker 2: take the ridge and meet up to that ranger station,
[4:43] Speaker 2: and so as we're ascending, we kept hearing it was
[4:51] Speaker 2: like a it was like a grunting. It was like
[4:56] Speaker 2: a the best thing that I'm gonna I'm gonna do
[5:00] Speaker 2: it right now. But this is what it sounded like.
[5:02] Speaker 2: It was a huh huh huh. And it was in
[5:08] Speaker 2: a sequence of four every time.
[5:12] Speaker 1: Wow.
[5:13] Speaker 2: Okay. And now I've I've since I've talked to bigfoot
[5:21] Speaker 2: researcher in the area, Shane Corson. I don't know if
[5:24] Speaker 2: you're familiar with great guy. Yeah, And and I was
[5:27] Speaker 2: on the phone with him for about two hours, and
[5:29] Speaker 2: he was convinced that that we hadn't experienced because I'm
[5:34] Speaker 2: announce to me. You know, back then I wasn't as
[5:40] Speaker 2: h h I I'd say I didn't know all the
[5:44] Speaker 2: animal sounds like I do now. Now I'm an avid
[5:48] Speaker 2: at doorsman, hunter, fisher, you know, And and I definitely
[5:57] Speaker 2: don't know what that animal sound would be besides maybe
[6:01] Speaker 2: a bear. But now I've gone and done my research
[6:05] Speaker 2: researching on on sounds that bears make, and I've even
[6:10] Speaker 2: came pretty close to bear a few times, and they
[6:15] Speaker 2: don't make that sound. They've never made that sound when
[6:18] Speaker 2: I'm around anyway, and Shane kind of had the same perspective. Anyway,
[6:24] Speaker 2: as we're sending the mountain side whatever was making that sound,
[6:31] Speaker 2: we were getting closer to it because it was sound
[6:34] Speaker 2: off every oh twenty minutes or so, I would say,
[6:40] Speaker 2: and we're just we're taking our time, We're going up outside.
[6:43] Speaker 2: We kind of all looked at each other. We're like,
[6:44] Speaker 2: what is that? Is that an elk? You know, well
[6:47] Speaker 2: I elk hunt, so I know now, but that's not
[6:51] Speaker 2: an elk. But back then we're like, yeah, probably, you
[6:53] Speaker 2: know whatever, no big deal, let's just keep going. So
[6:58] Speaker 2: we ended up climbing up. We actually got to where
[7:01] Speaker 2: we had packs on and stuff. We got to where
[7:03] Speaker 2: it was so steep that we we were digging our
[7:07] Speaker 2: hands in the dirt to get up to the side
[7:09] Speaker 2: of the mountain. I mean it was it was steep,
[7:13] Speaker 2: and so we ended up getting up there. This is
[7:17] Speaker 2: this is an area that I imagine no one has ever
[7:21] Speaker 2: been because of the terrain. We end up getting up
[7:27] Speaker 2: so high that that we kind of ran into it
[7:31] Speaker 2: got really rocky and bouldery, and and now that that
[7:37] Speaker 2: sound we heard it sounded off oh five times or
[7:42] Speaker 2: so since the first time we heard it. And as
[7:44] Speaker 2: we're ascending and getting towards the top of this ridge,
[7:48] Speaker 2: it is getting louder, but we're not seeing anything. We're
[7:50] Speaker 2: expecting to see whatever this sound is pretty soon, because
[7:58] Speaker 2: it must be an animal warning us that it doesn't
[8:00] Speaker 2: want us too close, and so we're going to see it,
[8:04] Speaker 2: you know, and make a visual and decide what to
[8:07] Speaker 2: do from there, but we never see it anyway. We
[8:10] Speaker 2: end up getting up there. It's real rocky. We kind
[8:13] Speaker 2: of spidered our way across as boulder and there was
[8:18] Speaker 2: a there was a creek coming down. We we got
[8:21] Speaker 2: across the creek and and we just kind of got
[8:24] Speaker 2: up there and and and we're like trying to just
[8:28] Speaker 2: figure out a path to get to the top of
[8:30] Speaker 2: this ridge. And we kind of got to a spot
[8:33] Speaker 2: where there is no way we're getting up any further,
[8:38] Speaker 2: Like it's just huge boulders, and I mean, it would
[8:42] Speaker 2: be stupid to try to go any further from here.
[8:45] Speaker 2: And we're kind of we got out our maps, we're
[8:48] Speaker 2: kind of trying to figure out what to do, and
[8:51] Speaker 2: all of a sudden, and no joke, it was so
[8:58] Speaker 2: loud that I swear it was right on top of
[9:05] Speaker 2: us or right behind the boulder, but I could actually
[9:10] Speaker 2: hear the the almost the breath from the every time
[9:17] Speaker 2: it grunted and did the I mean it was and
[9:24] Speaker 2: we all looked at each other when it did it,
[9:28] Speaker 2: like let's get out of here, Like we were all
[9:32] Speaker 2: just freaked out, Like it was like like, dude, it's
[9:37] Speaker 2: right there, Like whatever it is is right on top
[9:41] Speaker 2: of us. And so we we just turned around and
[9:46] Speaker 2: went back the way we came, and we kind of
[9:51] Speaker 2: got to a point where we couldn't like night night
[9:56] Speaker 2: was falling and we didn't want to go down that
[9:59] Speaker 2: that's steep embankment again. But it was kind of like
[10:03] Speaker 2: we tried going down further and trying to find a
[10:06] Speaker 2: way up, and there was just nothing. And we actually
[10:10] Speaker 2: ended up camping out against a pine tree. And we
[10:14] Speaker 2: were in a two and a half man kelty tent
[10:18] Speaker 2: with three guys, So we were tight in this two
[10:22] Speaker 2: and a half man tent with our feet against a
[10:26] Speaker 2: pine tree on a you know, a steep slope. So
[10:34] Speaker 2: that was it, that was all we had. So we
[10:37] Speaker 2: ended up we end up in the morning, we were
[10:39] Speaker 2: all piled down on the bottom of the tent. Hey guys,
[10:41] Speaker 2: get up. Oh my god, doing twister on the bottom
[10:44] Speaker 2: of the tent. Anyway, Yeah, we end up leaving. We
[10:49] Speaker 2: got out of there. We end up leaving, and we
[10:51] Speaker 2: really didn't really talk about it after that. It wasn't
[10:55] Speaker 2: like it it was. It wasn't like the hoighlight of
[10:59] Speaker 2: the the trip. It wasn't like something that and and
[11:04] Speaker 2: and Bigfoot didn't even we It wasn't even brought up.
[11:10] Speaker 2: It wasn't you know, I knew nothing really about it
[11:13] Speaker 2: back then. I really didn't. It just didn't register. And
[11:18] Speaker 2: with my two bodies it didn't either. Now now that
[11:22] Speaker 2: I've kind of you know've been listening to shows like
[11:27] Speaker 2: Yours and and stuff and and and now now with
[11:32] Speaker 2: that being said, I've only heard one encounter where somebody
[11:37] Speaker 2: has heard that, and it was almost to the tea
[11:40] Speaker 2: exactly what they heard. I heard that. Okay, That's what
[11:44] Speaker 2: makes it kind of interesting for me, Like and and
[11:49] Speaker 2: you know, it'd be nice to have a I wish
[11:52] Speaker 2: there were more people that had that same kind of
[11:57] Speaker 2: vocalization encounter, But I just I haven't heard it yet,
[12:01] Speaker 2: I guess, But but to me, it was like what
[12:06] Speaker 2: else could it have been? I mean, honestly.
[12:08] Speaker 1: Yeah, especially if so you mentioned staircase. Is this so
[12:13] Speaker 1: you're talking about staircase behind Lake Cushman? Yes, yeah, Oh
[12:18] Speaker 1: my goodness. If you were up there, dude, that place
[12:20] Speaker 1: is so wild with big stuff. Oh, I mean, you know,
[12:23] Speaker 1: because you've looked into it. And so what year was that?
[12:26] Speaker 2: Approximately approximately two thousand?
[12:34] Speaker 1: Okay, cool, Yeah, I'm.
[12:36] Speaker 2: I'm fifty one now. I was like, I was like,
[12:41] Speaker 2: I think I moved out there when I was like
[12:42] Speaker 2: twenty two, and I was there until I was like
[12:46] Speaker 2: twenty five.
[12:47] Speaker 1: So oh that's wild.
[12:51] Speaker 2: Yeah. Uh you know, it's just one of those one
[12:54] Speaker 2: of those crazy uh in coners. And I definitely like,
[13:01] Speaker 2: I'm not wanting to just jump to the conclusion or
[13:04] Speaker 2: anything like that, like I really I mean, but but
[13:07] Speaker 2: when it clicked for me that hey, guys, I you know,
[13:11] Speaker 2: and I called my buddies and I was like, hey,
[13:13] Speaker 2: what do you guys think you know? And they were like, hey,
[13:17] Speaker 2: that's possibility, like and they what they know? What they
[13:21] Speaker 2: know now? And my my one buddy especially, he's he's
[13:25] Speaker 2: he's actually a he does excursions in the wilderness. He
[13:30] Speaker 2: knows what animals sound like, and and that was definitely
[13:35] Speaker 2: not on on the list, so they didn't disagree with me,
[13:42] Speaker 2: but but yeah, they you know, I definitely I know,
[13:48] Speaker 2: I know now there there's there. Yeah, there's a lot
[13:51] Speaker 2: of activity and in on the on the Olympic Peninsula
[13:56] Speaker 2: and and it definitely could have been we were off
[13:59] Speaker 2: the beaten path. Good ways.
[14:02] Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I've been talking to people the last
[14:05] Speaker 1: few days about Olympic Peninsula stuff like crazy and like yeah,
[14:09] Speaker 1: Lake Cushman, that area is really really intense and I
[14:15] Speaker 1: mean just yeah staircase. If you went up there, I
[14:17] Speaker 1: mean I would not be surprised you were running into
[14:20] Speaker 1: weird stuff. Dude. What a what a cool what a
[14:23] Speaker 1: cool wilderness story. Thank you for coming up and sharing it.
[14:27] Speaker 1: I do appreciate it.
[14:28] Speaker 2: Yeah, I do have more if you have time. Yeah.
[14:34] Speaker 1: Sure.
[14:37] Speaker 2: So basically, when I was a kid, I I lived
[14:46] Speaker 2: in a neighborhood, just a regular neighborhood in the middle
[14:50] Speaker 2: of the city in Saint Club, Minnesota, and I would
[14:57] Speaker 2: I grew up with two sisters, one older, one younger,
[14:59] Speaker 2: and and my younger sister once son and be like,
[15:03] Speaker 2: you know, I'm I'm scared tonight we sleep with me?
[15:05] Speaker 2: And I was like, sure, I'll sleep with you. And
[15:07] Speaker 2: so I was in her bedroom and and and I
[15:12] Speaker 2: woke up in the middle of the night with the
[15:17] Speaker 2: and I heard the sound like like I kind of
[15:20] Speaker 2: opened my eyes. I kind of heard like a creaking sound.
[15:24] Speaker 2: I opened my eyes, and I I look at the
[15:27] Speaker 2: bedroom window and and I see, Uh, it was definitely
[15:37] Speaker 2: a full body apparition of a Native American young girl.
[15:43] Speaker 2: And I say Native American because I could I could
[15:45] Speaker 2: see the garb she was wearing. She had braids, she
[15:49] Speaker 2: had braids, and she had a doll in her arm.
[15:55] Speaker 2: And it was kind of weird because I know, I mean,
[16:00] Speaker 2: he was on a rocking chair and that's what was
[16:02] Speaker 2: making the creaking. And I'm not sure that rocking chairs
[16:07] Speaker 2: and Native American people if there's any correlation. You never know,
[16:11] Speaker 2: I guess, but maybe they could have traded a rocking
[16:14] Speaker 2: chair for who knows. Anyway, that's what I saw, and
[16:19] Speaker 2: I just kind of chocked it up to it, and
[16:22] Speaker 2: I did pinch myself. I was like, I'm not dreaming,
[16:25] Speaker 2: I'm seeing what I'm seeing here. And I kind of
[16:28] Speaker 2: just put it in the back of my mind. And
[16:31] Speaker 2: a few years later, I was talking to my neighbor
[16:33] Speaker 2: that lives across the street, and behind his house is
[16:36] Speaker 2: a big set of woods and it never got developed
[16:40] Speaker 2: for whatever reason. To this day, it never got developed.
[16:45] Speaker 2: And he said to me, because we always went back
[16:48] Speaker 2: in those woods and played, and he told me, apparently
[16:54] Speaker 2: this is a there's Native American barrel growings back here,
[17:00] Speaker 2: and it just clicked in my mind. I was like,
[17:04] Speaker 2: oh my gosh, yeah, okay, yeah, that just confirmed what
[17:11] Speaker 2: I saw was probably who knows what what that neighborhood
[17:18] Speaker 2: was built on, you know, and.
[17:20] Speaker 1: No, absolutely now probably in the nineties.
[17:23] Speaker 2: You're saying that neighborhood was probably built probably in the seventies,
[17:34] Speaker 2: and I was. I was there in would have been
[17:42] Speaker 2: eighty eighty two. Eighty two to eighty seven is when
[17:48] Speaker 2: I lived there. So yeah, anyway, going forward from there,
[17:55] Speaker 2: my parents end up buying a house out in out
[17:58] Speaker 2: in the country and uh, we lived out there. Almost
[18:02] Speaker 2: immediately started having activity, paranormal activity. And I know, you're
[18:12] Speaker 2: not a paranormal show. There's it brings me to what
[18:17] Speaker 2: I'm going to be talking about, Okay, but this is
[18:20] Speaker 2: where my belief in the paranormal and and everything else
[18:23] Speaker 2: come into play. But so I had I had a
[18:28] Speaker 2: few different experiences.
[18:30] Speaker 1: Uh.
[18:33] Speaker 2: The first one was I had a I had a
[18:35] Speaker 2: I woke up to like someone turned on the light.
[18:39] Speaker 2: I had a bright or floating around in my room
[18:45] Speaker 2: and it was so bright that that I thought someone
[18:47] Speaker 2: turned on the light. And I watched it as it
[18:51] Speaker 2: floated around by the ceiling and then it sunk into
[18:55] Speaker 2: the light bulb and just dissipated. It was weird. And
[19:02] Speaker 2: then and then we had the heat would be turned
[19:07] Speaker 2: up up in the we had. It was kind of
[19:11] Speaker 2: a It was an old farmhouse built in nineteen oh three,
[19:14] Speaker 2: and the it had it had an upstairs, had an
[19:19] Speaker 2: old basement that was not livable. It was like the
[19:23] Speaker 2: the rock wall type basement. And then had had upstairs.
[19:28] Speaker 2: And then and then out of my sister's room, you
[19:31] Speaker 2: could open the door and go up the steps to
[19:34] Speaker 2: the peak of the attic, and there was a room
[19:37] Speaker 2: up there, and they obviously used it for storage or whatever,
[19:42] Speaker 2: but it was head carpet and stuff and just a
[19:45] Speaker 2: panel ceiling. And the heat would get turned up all
[19:51] Speaker 2: the way up there, and my dad was thinking it
[19:55] Speaker 2: was one of the kids, who's turning the heat up
[19:57] Speaker 2: up there all the way up None of us you know,
[20:01] Speaker 2: why would we do that, you know, So it was
[20:03] Speaker 2: none of us. It was just get turned up all
[20:06] Speaker 2: the way. And it happened like three or four times. Anyway,
[20:13] Speaker 2: I was up there, I had a drum set. I
[20:15] Speaker 2: was jamming on my drum set, and all of a sudden,
[20:18] Speaker 2: I got I got like my spidy senses went off,
[20:22] Speaker 2: and like the hair on the back of my neck
[20:25] Speaker 2: stood up, like someone's right behind me. And I turned
[20:29] Speaker 2: around and we had a we We we'd gone to
[20:33] Speaker 2: Mexico a couple of times when we were when we
[20:36] Speaker 2: were kids, and we brought back those Mariachi puppets. And
[20:41] Speaker 2: I had one of those nailed up to the uh.
[20:45] Speaker 2: On the strings, there's a little wooden cross, and I
[20:49] Speaker 2: had that nailed up to the ceiling. So the puppet
[20:51] Speaker 2: was just hanging, I don't know, kind of creepy, but
[20:54] Speaker 2: whatever I was whatever uh. Anyway, I had that nailed
[20:59] Speaker 2: up to the ceiling. I turned around, and that Mariachi
[21:02] Speaker 2: puppet was like swaying back and forth like someone just
[21:08] Speaker 2: brushed by its. Yeah. I pretty much dropped my drumsticks
[21:15] Speaker 2: and ran downstairs. And I didn't go back up there
[21:17] Speaker 2: for a really long time. A few other things happened,
[21:20] Speaker 2: but I'm going to try to get to the point
[21:23] Speaker 2: of my story. The biggest thing that happened was my
[21:27] Speaker 2: dog was missing. My sister and I were home alone.
[21:31] Speaker 2: We couldn't find her anywhere. We heard her barking. I
[21:34] Speaker 2: went into my older sister's room and I heard her
[21:38] Speaker 2: bark inside the armoire that was last shut. I opened
[21:44] Speaker 2: it up. She was on the Now I was a
[21:46] Speaker 2: little like a lost apsle if you know what kind
[21:48] Speaker 2: of dog that is. Yeah, And she was on the
[21:51] Speaker 2: top shelf like the height of my chin. No way
[21:56] Speaker 2: she'd be able to get up there.
[21:58] Speaker 3: Wow.
[21:58] Speaker 2: I looked at my sister said, are you playing with me?
[22:01] Speaker 2: And she started crying, So I know she didn't do it.
[22:05] Speaker 2: And we were the only ones home. So that was
[22:09] Speaker 2: the freakiest stuff anyway, you know. So I kind of
[22:14] Speaker 2: had that as different things happened, I had kind of
[22:20] Speaker 2: that spidey sense, you know, like a sixth sense or
[22:24] Speaker 2: whatever you want to call it, that something was near
[22:28] Speaker 2: or something was gonna happen, or you know what I mean.
[22:31] Speaker 2: Like I could always feel like when there was a
[22:34] Speaker 2: spear present, And so when that happened on the mountain,
[22:46] Speaker 2: I got that feeling like, that feeling came over me.
[22:52] Speaker 2: And I don't know, you know, I just you know
[22:56] Speaker 2: that feeling when it happens to you. And I'm sure
[22:58] Speaker 2: anybody who's listening he knows that feeling, knows what I'm
[23:01] Speaker 2: talking about. But that feeling came over me, and it
[23:06] Speaker 2: was it was it was kind of a kind of
[23:10] Speaker 2: a I don't want to use the word overwhelming. It
[23:14] Speaker 2: wasn't overwhelming, but it was familiar. I knew exactly that feeling.
[23:20] Speaker 2: I knew exactly what I was feeling like. So I
[23:25] Speaker 2: don't know what that had to do with it, with that,
[23:29] Speaker 2: with that encounter, but that's the feeling I got. So yeah,
[23:39] Speaker 2: one more thing. So and and I kind of I've
[23:43] Speaker 2: kind of heard this take before but not exactly, but
[23:48] Speaker 2: people kind of always, you know, say what, you know,
[23:54] Speaker 2: what do they think the correlation between extraterrestrial and and
[23:59] Speaker 2: and Bigfoot is? Because as they see the orbs around
[24:02] Speaker 2: Bigfoot some sometimes sometimes not, but sometimes there's the lights
[24:09] Speaker 2: in the woods, the orbs, you know what I'm talking about. Yeah,
[24:15] Speaker 2: my take on it is is that I totally, one
[24:19] Speaker 2: hundred percent believe that we are not the only life
[24:23] Speaker 2: on this planet. And there is life beyond us, way
[24:26] Speaker 2: more advanced than us. And I do believe we are
[24:29] Speaker 2: being visited. With that being said, uh, the orbs that
[24:36] Speaker 2: people see in correlation to the Bigfoot, are those beings
[24:44] Speaker 2: studying Bigfoot with I'd say something like our drones. They
[24:53] Speaker 2: have their own drones and they're highly they're highly advanced.
[24:59] Speaker 2: Why not if you if you came from another planet,
[25:03] Speaker 2: you came to this and he said, Wow, humans are
[25:05] Speaker 2: really cool, but there's these other things that live in
[25:09] Speaker 2: the woods. They're crazy, Like, we gotta study these things.
[25:14] Speaker 2: We gotta, we gotta exactly, we gotta put we gotta,
[25:17] Speaker 2: we got to really study these things. How do we
[25:19] Speaker 2: do it? Well, let's put our drones out and and
[25:23] Speaker 2: have and just follow them around in the woods. I
[25:27] Speaker 2: mean that sperience. That makes sense to me. If you
[25:32] Speaker 2: if you can go along with extraterrestrials, uh being being
[25:38] Speaker 2: you know, if you believe that they we're visited or
[25:43] Speaker 2: they're already here or whatever. You know.
[25:45] Speaker 1: I think there's a lot a lot going on that
[25:48] Speaker 1: we can't see. Uh, it's super evident, and as science
[25:53] Speaker 1: progresses we kind of figure out more of what's going on. Perhaps, Yeah,
[25:59] Speaker 1: it's just it's so weird as all get out. But Peter,
[26:03] Speaker 1: thank you so much for coming up and absolutely the
[26:06] Speaker 1: weirdness you've experienced in your stories out in Washington State.
[26:09] Speaker 1: I do appreciate it.
[26:10] Speaker 3: Man.
[26:11] Speaker 2: Yeah, thank you very much for having me on. I
[26:13] Speaker 2: appreciate it.
[26:14] Speaker 1: You got it.
[26:20] Speaker 3: Hi, good morning. Let's see. I have a story from
[26:25] Speaker 3: back in nineteen eighty nine. I was very I was young.
[26:30] Speaker 3: I was I think I was maybe seventeen years old,
[26:32] Speaker 3: and I was with a friend. I live on the
[26:36] Speaker 3: I grew up on the East Coast, but I met
[26:39] Speaker 3: a gal on a backpacking trip who lived on the
[26:45] Speaker 3: West coast in California, and together when we were seventeen,
[26:49] Speaker 3: we drove up from California up into Oregon to just
[26:57] Speaker 3: to go on a road trip and you know, see
[27:00] Speaker 3: the country. And so this one night we had gone
[27:06] Speaker 3: to Crater Lake during the day to visit Crater Lake,
[27:10] Speaker 3: and then we left. I can't remember what time of
[27:12] Speaker 3: day we left Crater Lake, but it would have been
[27:14] Speaker 3: toward the end of the day before dark, and we
[27:19] Speaker 3: were driving. We drove north of there, and we were
[27:24] Speaker 3: somewhere in Oregon, north of Crater Lake, and I know
[27:28] Speaker 3: at one point, we're going to east because we'd been
[27:31] Speaker 3: driving for a while and I could see the full
[27:33] Speaker 3: moon was rising up between two big kind of like
[27:37] Speaker 3: pine trees in the road dead ahead of us. Shortly
[27:42] Speaker 3: after that, we stopped at a campground because we wanted to,
[27:47] Speaker 3: you know, camp out for the night, and there was
[27:50] Speaker 3: nobody in that campground. And as I recall, it was
[27:53] Speaker 3: like a state camp type of campground, you know where
[27:56] Speaker 3: you leave your money in the little box in the front.
[28:00] Speaker 3: There was nobody in that campground, and that kind of
[28:03] Speaker 3: creeped us out a little bit, so we decided to
[28:05] Speaker 3: continue on. We drove for maybe another fifteen to twenty minutes,
[28:11] Speaker 3: maybe less, not sure, got to another campground and we
[28:16] Speaker 3: were heading east and we were taking lefts into these campgrounds.
[28:20] Speaker 3: I do remember that anyway. We got into this campground,
[28:23] Speaker 3: we drove way down into the back. There was one
[28:25] Speaker 3: person there at the beginning. It might have been like
[28:26] Speaker 3: the camp host. I'm not sure, but there was one
[28:30] Speaker 3: car in the very beginning. We drove way down into
[28:33] Speaker 3: the back, and I remember we were like there were
[28:36] Speaker 3: there was like where we decided to camp. It was
[28:40] Speaker 3: like little camping spots that you picked and I remember
[28:45] Speaker 3: there was. It was wooded and like kind of like
[28:47] Speaker 3: it went up a hill in front of us. Anyway,
[28:52] Speaker 3: we threw down our tarp. We didn't have a tent
[28:55] Speaker 3: or anything. We just threw our sleeping bags down on
[28:57] Speaker 3: a tarp, and we were awake, like writing in our
[29:00] Speaker 3: journals and chatting for a little bit, and then we
[29:05] Speaker 3: decided to go sleep, turned off the flashlight, and it
[29:09] Speaker 3: was not long after that when suddenly something just came
[29:15] Speaker 3: stomping through the campground. Came from the left, like it
[29:21] Speaker 3: was walking along the tree line, and like when a
[29:23] Speaker 3: when I say stomping, it was so obviously on two feet,
[29:26] Speaker 3: heavy footed, you know, caden like rhythmic stomp, stomp, stomp,
[29:33] Speaker 3: you know, it was so obvious that it was on
[29:36] Speaker 3: two feet, so loud and heavy footed. Came along and stopped.
[29:45] Speaker 3: I think maybe no more than twenty feet away.
[29:48] Speaker 2: If that.
[29:51] Speaker 3: It was must have been pretty heavily wooded in there.
[29:53] Speaker 3: Because I could not see what this was, and I
[29:58] Speaker 3: wanted so badly to turn on my flash and see
[30:00] Speaker 3: what it was, but I was no way was I
[30:03] Speaker 3: going to do that. I was just kind of terrified
[30:07] Speaker 3: and just frozen. I didn't want to move, so previous
[30:14] Speaker 3: to that, I was whenever I tell friends or family
[30:17] Speaker 3: the story, I forget the part before we turned off
[30:20] Speaker 3: the flashlight and went to sleep, we had heard what
[30:22] Speaker 3: I described at the time as howling coming from that
[30:28] Speaker 3: wooded area. And two, I don't know what that sound
[30:33] Speaker 3: sounded like, unfortunately, because but I do know that specifically
[30:39] Speaker 3: used the word howling. And we just thought it was like,
[30:43] Speaker 3: I don't know, maybe some coyotes in there. It did
[30:45] Speaker 3: not scare us. So but then after this thing came up,
[30:51] Speaker 3: it came up, it stopped, like I said, like maybe
[30:54] Speaker 3: twenty feet away. I'm frozen, not wanting to move. I
[30:59] Speaker 3: was like laying, they're kind of like frozen, terrified. It
[31:02] Speaker 3: did not stomp away. It stood there. It was stood there.
[31:06] Speaker 3: It walked up, It stood there about twenty feet away.
[31:09] Speaker 3: I don't know, maybe for twenty seconds, that's kind of
[31:11] Speaker 3: a guess. But it stood there for a few moments,
[31:14] Speaker 3: and then I could hear that thing creeping away up
[31:18] Speaker 3: through those trees as if it was tiptoeing. So all
[31:22] Speaker 3: I could hear was little twigs breaking as it was retreating,
[31:26] Speaker 3: and it blew my mind. I'm like, this thing just
[31:29] Speaker 3: stomped up, and now it is just making the quietest
[31:34] Speaker 3: little sound as it retreats, as if it knew that
[31:36] Speaker 3: I was aware of it and wanted to wanted to
[31:40] Speaker 3: leave very very quietly. So at that point I whispered
[31:45] Speaker 3: to my friend when I felt like I had like
[31:48] Speaker 3: retreated a bit, I whispered to my friend. I said,
[31:52] Speaker 3: did you hear that? And she's like, huh. She had
[31:55] Speaker 3: been sleeping through it, and she woke up and she said, no,
[31:58] Speaker 3: I didn't hear anything. And I told her what I happened,
[32:01] Speaker 3: And I said, something just stopped through our campground. And
[32:04] Speaker 3: suddenly we hear the howling again, and this time it's closer,
[32:10] Speaker 3: much closer, and there were multiple howls, like one and
[32:15] Speaker 3: then another and then another. And at that point we
[32:19] Speaker 3: both said, okay, let's get out of here, and we
[32:22] Speaker 3: counted to three and we high tailed it out of there,
[32:26] Speaker 3: in like pure terror at every moment, any moment, thinking
[32:30] Speaker 3: this thing was going to jump out. I mean we
[32:32] Speaker 3: were grabbing, like just grabbed everything and one fell swoop
[32:36] Speaker 3: and just stuffing it into the jeep and like I'm climbing,
[32:39] Speaker 3: like we're literally leaving the campground with me, like in
[32:42] Speaker 3: the passenger seat on top of all of our stuff
[32:44] Speaker 3: because there was no time. We were so scared to
[32:47] Speaker 3: like properly, you know, get our stuff packed in there.
[32:50] Speaker 3: So it was pretty hilarious and scary, really scary at
[32:54] Speaker 3: the same time. So we left there and it was just,
[32:58] Speaker 3: I will say, the night just felt like otherworldly. She
[33:04] Speaker 3: was driving. We just kept heading west toward Idaho, I'm sorry,
[33:09] Speaker 3: east toward Idaho, and it was just just the night
[33:15] Speaker 3: just felt so magical. And we weren't even speaking. We
[33:20] Speaker 3: didn't even really talk about it. I was just in
[33:22] Speaker 3: shock at what had just happened. And I did think
[33:26] Speaker 3: of Bigfoot. Now I'm looking up at the sky. There's
[33:28] Speaker 3: like this this moon and these the clouds were just
[33:32] Speaker 3: forming all these shapes, and I'm up, I'm looking at
[33:36] Speaker 3: the clouds. They're forming the shape of a Native American
[33:40] Speaker 3: chief's head. They're forming one was literally a Bigfoot in
[33:44] Speaker 3: the sky was formed in the cloud. I know that
[33:47] Speaker 3: all sounds really weird, but this happened and all my
[33:51] Speaker 3: girlfriends said, my friend, she would like, we're dead silent,
[33:54] Speaker 3: not even talking, and she just kind of like leaned
[33:57] Speaker 3: forward and looked up toward the sky and said, whoa,
[34:00] Speaker 3: there are some really you know, like crazy things up
[34:02] Speaker 3: in the sky right now, and I don't And that
[34:05] Speaker 3: was it. We didn't even speak. We were just both
[34:08] Speaker 3: kind of just kind of I don't know, like just
[34:13] Speaker 3: in shock and in this weird, kind of otherworldly place
[34:17] Speaker 3: and I don't know how else to describe it. That's it.
[34:24] Speaker 3: And yeah, that's it. So thanks for letting me share,
