[0:07] Speaker 1: What's that at the bed. It's spooky, joky. I'm pretty
[0:12] Speaker 1: sure it's dead. It's coming this way. Wait a minute, help,
[0:16] Speaker 1: I'm ghosted. I'm nandaz Pllease hey boo, It's me Rose
[0:31] Speaker 1: and welcome to Ghosted by Raz Hernandez, the podcast where
[0:36] Speaker 1: I talk to people that I like about the paranormal
[0:41] Speaker 1: I have on the pod today Tom Sharpling, who has
[0:45] Speaker 1: been doing the best show for twenty five years. He's
[0:51] Speaker 1: like one of these people that's been podcasting before there
[0:54] Speaker 1: was even the name podcasting. He's great. I can talk
[0:58] Speaker 1: to him about anything, and such a sweet person and
[1:02] Speaker 1: so funny. Before we get to that, let me read
[1:05] Speaker 1: you a story. This one comes from Bianca. Bianca writes,
[1:11] Speaker 1: I live in Toronto, Ontario. Ah quit bragging, Bianca, but
[1:17] Speaker 1: I grew up in Niagara Falls, which is surprisingly rich
[1:23] Speaker 1: in paranormal activity. I have a few good encounters. But
[1:28] Speaker 1: I think you might be interested in my Hopkins Tomb story.
[1:34] Speaker 1: O good. I'm twenty nine now. But when I was
[1:39] Speaker 1: in elementary school, my friend and I decided to do
[1:42] Speaker 1: our Historica Bristol board project on Hopkins's tomb. There are
[1:49] Speaker 1: many stories that circulated about the haunted tomb, but the
[1:54] Speaker 1: one in this page under the curse section involved a
[1:58] Speaker 1: distant family member of mine. Okay, Bianca has given me
[2:03] Speaker 1: a link about this place called Hopkins's Tomb. It looks
[2:07] Speaker 1: spooky oooooo. In this it talks about a distant family
[2:12] Speaker 1: member of Bianca who was cursed. He lost his leg
[2:16] Speaker 1: in a freak motorcycle accident after sticking it in the tomb.
[2:21] Speaker 1: He stuck his leg in the tomb, and then he
[2:23] Speaker 1: lost his leg in a motorcycle accident. AnyWho lots of
[2:27] Speaker 1: eerie deaths and lingering curses from this tomb, okay, I'll
[2:30] Speaker 1: believe you. In short, the local legend is that if
[2:34] Speaker 1: you run around the tomb three times, you'll summon the
[2:38] Speaker 1: supernatural entity. My friend and I went with her mom
[2:42] Speaker 1: to take some pictures for our project. Her mom was
[2:46] Speaker 1: in the car. The thick energy surrounding the tomb hangs
[2:50] Speaker 1: in the air. There's a small fence about knee height
[2:54] Speaker 1: surrounding the tomb. After taking our photos, we elected to
[2:58] Speaker 1: run around the tomb twice. After making our second lap,
[3:03] Speaker 1: we laughed breathlessly and decided to run another halfway around,
[3:08] Speaker 1: making it almost three times. Very cheeky, but just as
[3:13] Speaker 1: we kissed that two point five lap finish line, I
[3:18] Speaker 1: still have chills when I write this. I felt a
[3:21] Speaker 1: thick gust of wind blow the hair in front of
[3:25] Speaker 1: my face, and the loudest, deepest inhuman voice yell come
[3:32] Speaker 1: in side. It felt so low it shook the ground.
[3:38] Speaker 1: When her mom brought her an eye to my house,
[3:41] Speaker 1: her mom came in because she was so shaken up.
[3:44] Speaker 1: She explained to my mom that she was watching us
[3:47] Speaker 1: do it, and said that she saw the exact moment
[3:49] Speaker 1: it happened the wind on an otherwise still day, and
[3:55] Speaker 1: both of our faces went white as we heard the
[3:58] Speaker 1: exact same thing at the exact same time. We both,
[4:02] Speaker 1: without consulting one another, ran towards the car, hopping the
[4:05] Speaker 1: knee height fence, and nearly threw up from fear. We
[4:10] Speaker 1: naturally grew apart with age as we went through high
[4:13] Speaker 1: school and beyond, but to this day we will message
[4:16] Speaker 1: each other every now and then to reflect on this
[4:19] Speaker 1: experience we had. Yeah, it sounds pretty scary, Bianca, I'm
[4:24] Speaker 1: glad you didn't get cursed. Ooh, thanks for sending that.
[4:28] Speaker 1: As you're right now, I'm on tour right now, doing
[4:30] Speaker 1: comedy a gay bars in America. Rosernandez tour dot com
[4:34] Speaker 1: for all those dates. Okay, here's my conversation with Tom
[4:40] Speaker 1: Sharpling and with the show. I don't believe it. We've
[4:49] Speaker 1: got an icon in the world of talking on a microphone,
[4:57] Speaker 1: Tom Sharpling.
[4:58] Speaker 2: Hi, icon.
[5:01] Speaker 1: But you're not a stand up comedian, no, which you
[5:04] Speaker 1: should be. You're one of the funniest people that ever exists.
[5:07] Speaker 2: That's so kind of you to say. But I just
[5:10] Speaker 2: can't do that. I don't have that in me.
[5:13] Speaker 1: Are you always seated when you're on the microphone? Pretty
[5:16] Speaker 1: much of sitting and talking on a microphone? Yeah, Now
[5:20] Speaker 1: that that makes it sound like you're not doing anything
[5:22] Speaker 1: or something.
[5:22] Speaker 2: Well, I mean I'm not standing. It's not that not
[5:25] Speaker 2: that hard to stand.
[5:26] Speaker 1: Listen, Tom Sharp. Now I'm talking to the people listening. Okay,
[5:33] Speaker 1: Just I have to check in to make sure that
[5:35] Speaker 1: they're still listening anyways, because sometimes I just start talking
[5:38] Speaker 1: and then the numbers go down.
[5:41] Speaker 2: Numbers never go down. With you, Tom.
[5:44] Speaker 1: Sharpling, how are you? I'm pretty good.
[5:50] Speaker 2: It is exciting.
[5:52] Speaker 1: I've been wanting you on here for so long. Yeah,
[5:55] Speaker 1: we've had your double threat other half. Yes, what's her
[6:02] Speaker 1: name again? Klown Julie Kloud's name.
[6:05] Speaker 2: You didn't forget it?
[6:06] Speaker 1: Of course I love her. She's been on We've wanted
[6:09] Speaker 1: to have you for forever. It's hard to get you.
[6:12] Speaker 2: Well, now you got me. You tell me what to do.
[6:17] Speaker 2: Now you say jump and I'll say how high.
[6:20] Speaker 1: We were just talking before we recorded about Liberaci. Yeah,
[6:24] Speaker 1: did you know that Debbie Gibson got haunted by Liberaci's piano? No,
[6:30] Speaker 1: these are the kind of things I know.
[6:32] Speaker 2: Yeah, I didn't know.
[6:32] Speaker 1: This is what this is what people come to me for.
[6:35] Speaker 1: So there was an episode of my favorite TV show
[6:37] Speaker 1: of all time, Celebrity Ghost Stories. Sure, have you ever
[6:40] Speaker 1: seen that?
[6:41] Speaker 2: I think I've seen it.
[6:42] Speaker 1: I think it's been on for like ten years.
[6:44] Speaker 2: I think, so, yeah, it's so good.
[6:46] Speaker 1: Okay, So I can't I can't necessarily remember, but I
[6:49] Speaker 1: believe she bought Liberaci's like mirrored piano, okay, and like
[6:56] Speaker 1: one time a tile fell off, she was like this, Liberaci.
[7:00] Speaker 1: I think that's how No, I think I think it
[7:02] Speaker 1: was a better story than that, but it was basically
[7:05] Speaker 1: it had something to do with stuff like that.
[7:07] Speaker 2: Okay. I mean I would say, look, I'm not here
[7:08] Speaker 2: to debunk Debbie Gibson's experience. Deborah Gibson, of course, but
[7:14] Speaker 2: if you go by somebody's old piano, eventually things are
[7:18] Speaker 2: gonna start falling off of it.
[7:19] Speaker 1: You're no fun.
[7:21] Speaker 2: No, I am fun. I believe in things like you
[7:23] Speaker 2: wouldn't even imagine. What do you believe in?
[7:26] Speaker 1: Ghosts?
[7:27] Speaker 2: Sure? I believe that there's stuff going on.
[7:31] Speaker 1: You just went to Salem. I did do you do
[7:33] Speaker 1: anything ghosty?
[7:34] Speaker 2: Oh that's the only thing to do. There's there's literally
[7:39] Speaker 2: nothing there that's not ghosty.
[7:41] Speaker 1: I have never been there.
[7:43] Speaker 2: You would love it is witches.
[7:46] Speaker 1: Witches are there. The fact that I have never been
[7:50] Speaker 1: to Salem does not feel right, but it's true. And
[7:55] Speaker 1: I am doing this road trip and I'm doing Province
[7:58] Speaker 1: Sound in Boston. I don't have time, but I wanted
[8:01] Speaker 1: to try to go to Salem or you are those
[8:03] Speaker 1: back to back literally back to back.
[8:07] Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know how you could squeeze that in
[8:09] Speaker 2: not gonna be able to Everybody has said go off season, though,
[8:14] Speaker 2: so when you go to Salem, and it's when not if.
[8:18] Speaker 1: Don't go in October, that's what they say.
[8:21] Speaker 2: Because that's like going to Times Square on New Year's
[8:26] Speaker 2: Eve where it's just nothing. Everybody's there and it's it's
[8:30] Speaker 2: like you're living in the movie You'll be Halloween.
[8:33] Speaker 1: Mm, which one was that again?
[8:36] Speaker 2: I was the Adam Sandler movie filmed in Salem. The
[8:40] Speaker 2: movie hocus Pocus, of course filmed in Salem, and you
[8:46] Speaker 2: think it was Star Wars the way they talk about
[8:51] Speaker 2: it in Salem. They're just like, well, of course this
[8:54] Speaker 2: building you recognize from from hocus Pocus.
[8:58] Speaker 1: You're not a hocus Pocus.
[9:00] Speaker 2: I could be a fan of the movie hocus Pocus,
[9:03] Speaker 2: but I didn't memorize every location to where I'm gonna
[9:07] Speaker 2: faint if I see it in real life. We did
[9:09] Speaker 2: a tour, a walking tour through, so we did so
[9:12] Speaker 2: many things like that. Fine, there was a kid on
[9:19] Speaker 2: this tour, this teenager, and she was so into hocus
[9:25] Speaker 2: Pocus and could answer any question, and the tour guide
[9:30] Speaker 2: was starting to get a little irked that this kid
[9:33] Speaker 2: knew so much about hocus Pocus because she was she
[9:36] Speaker 2: would ask a question, she'd be like, so, does anybody
[9:39] Speaker 2: know why hocus Pocus a Halloween movie came out in
[9:43] Speaker 2: the summer and was not released in October, and this
[9:47] Speaker 2: kid started explaining so much about hocus Pocus, and the
[9:52] Speaker 2: tour guide was getting irked and said, that's a great guess.
[9:55] Speaker 2: It was like, well, no, this is not a guess.
[9:57] Speaker 2: This kid was on guessing. This kid knows the facts
[9:59] Speaker 2: about hocus Pocus. And interestingly enough, or not interestingly enough,
[10:05] Speaker 2: the The Nightmare Before Christmas was coming out in October,
[10:10] Speaker 2: and they were both Disney properties. So Disney didn't want
[10:13] Speaker 2: to have two Halloween movies in competition with each other,
[10:17] Speaker 2: and so they moved hocus Pocus to the summer.
[10:21] Speaker 1: And they both are very memorable.
[10:24] Speaker 2: Yeah. And the other thing that made me a little
[10:27] Speaker 2: sad was they're like, well, then they did hocus Pocus too,
[10:30] Speaker 2: and that did not shoot in Salem. And I have
[10:33] Speaker 2: exciting news. They're making hocus Pocus three and hopefully it'll
[10:36] Speaker 2: shoot in Salem. And it's not gonna shoot scheduling.
[10:40] Speaker 1: We're hoping.
[10:40] Speaker 2: Man Like they were just like, maybe hocus Pocus is
[10:43] Speaker 2: coming back. I just like they never go back.
[10:47] Speaker 1: Well, the best scene in hocus Pocus is Gary and
[10:51] Speaker 1: Penny Marshall. They play husband in life, which is very
[10:56] Speaker 1: little weird. Yeah, and he's dressed like the devil because
[10:58] Speaker 1: it's Halloween and then for some reason, I guess the Sanders'
[11:02] Speaker 1: sisters like worship the devil. That's like the one time
[11:06] Speaker 1: we get a glimpse of their devil worship. I guess,
[11:11] Speaker 1: I don't know. It's like we don't we really ever
[11:13] Speaker 1: talk about it any other time, but it's like he
[11:16] Speaker 1: has devil horns on and they're like master, it's so good.
[11:20] Speaker 2: Though, who has the guts to say, Hey, we were
[11:24] Speaker 2: thinking that you could be married to your brother in
[11:29] Speaker 2: this Like you know your brother, what if you were
[11:33] Speaker 2: married to him in this movie? Like that's the weirdest
[11:35] Speaker 2: thing to ask out loud. Yeah, that would be one.
[11:38] Speaker 2: That's like who's gonna ask exactly?
[11:41] Speaker 1: What about ghosts?
[11:42] Speaker 2: Though?
[11:42] Speaker 1: Like for you, is that something like so you say
[11:46] Speaker 1: you think it's possible, have you experienced it?
[11:49] Speaker 2: Not anything that I could really uh dig in on
[11:53] Speaker 2: and say this proves it to me. I just believe
[11:57] Speaker 2: in energy and there's things swirling around and we don't
[12:00] Speaker 2: have answers for things.
[12:02] Speaker 1: Aren't you a sleep paralysis person?
[12:04] Speaker 2: Oh yeah, huge, huge sleep paralysis person.
[12:07] Speaker 1: Do you see things?
[12:09] Speaker 2: I haven't had it happen in a long time, which
[12:10] Speaker 2: I think I'm just jinxing myself now now I'm going.
[12:12] Speaker 1: To have you know, they say, if you talk about it,
[12:15] Speaker 1: it makes it happen.
[12:16] Speaker 2: Are you a sleep paralysis person?
[12:18] Speaker 1: Ross, I've never had sleep paralysis.
[12:21] Speaker 2: Well, the night is young.
[12:24] Speaker 1: I that is my biggest fear.
[12:28] Speaker 2: It's horrible.
[12:30] Speaker 1: But you've never seen like an old hag lady crawling
[12:34] Speaker 1: on top of you or like stuff like that.
[12:37] Speaker 2: Not no, nothing like that. It's you know how people say, oh,
[12:41] Speaker 2: I've had it happen five times to me. I've had
[12:44] Speaker 2: it happen eight times. I've had it happen over a
[12:48] Speaker 2: hundred times to me. Wow, easily it would happen to
[12:50] Speaker 2: me all the time.
[12:52] Speaker 1: To a point where now when it happens, you're like, Okay,
[12:55] Speaker 1: I know what this is. It is fine.
[12:57] Speaker 2: Yeah, it hasn't happened in years of whatever happened in
[13:02] Speaker 2: my life where I made changes, it it stopped, and
[13:08] Speaker 2: I just I don't want it to come back. But
[13:10] Speaker 2: it's the worst thing you take, and like you took
[13:12] Speaker 2: a like if you dozed off in the middle of
[13:15] Speaker 2: the day, then suddenly you're in your body. You know
[13:20] Speaker 2: you're awake, but you're not awake, and you're screaming like
[13:24] Speaker 2: screaming to wake up, like I need to get myself
[13:27] Speaker 2: out of this state. And you're absolutely doing everything you can,
[13:32] Speaker 2: and then the person who just sees you in real
[13:36] Speaker 2: life just you're just going eh. But in your mind
[13:39] Speaker 2: you're screaming at the top of your lungs and shaking
[13:42] Speaker 2: and trying to just wake up. It's the worst.
[13:46] Speaker 1: That's a nightmare.
[13:47] Speaker 2: That's I mean, literally, it's the worst.
[13:54] Speaker 1: I did some research, not about sleep paralysis at all.
[13:58] Speaker 1: I did some research about your home state of New Jersey. Yeah,
[14:04] Speaker 1: urban legends, a.
[14:06] Speaker 2: Lot of them.
[14:07] Speaker 1: I love a good urban legends. Do any come to
[14:10] Speaker 1: mind for you of New Jersey?
[14:13] Speaker 2: Well, I mean the big one is the Jersey Devil.
[14:16] Speaker 1: That's right, not to be confused with Gary Marshall, who's
[14:21] Speaker 1: the Salem Devil. Yes, tell me about the Jersey Devil,
[14:25] Speaker 1: because that's not one that I did research on. But
[14:26] Speaker 1: I'm like, she's that girl.
[14:28] Speaker 2: I believe, and I'm not as up to speed as
[14:31] Speaker 2: I probably should be on the Jersey Devil. Jersey Devil's
[14:34] Speaker 2: down in the Pine barrens, which is at the bottom
[14:37] Speaker 2: of the state, just like this giant, huge wooded area
[14:42] Speaker 2: that time. Famously, there's an episode of the Sopranos that
[14:46] Speaker 2: takes place in the pine barrens where they go to.
[14:49] Speaker 1: It's the Jersey Devil in that.
[14:50] Speaker 2: Kill a guy. Now, the Jersey Devil's not in it,
[14:52] Speaker 2: but the pine barrens are terrifying because it's just vast woods.
[14:57] Speaker 1: What about Jersey Mike?
[14:59] Speaker 2: Jersey Mike is he's my Jersey devil. He's probably my
[15:03] Speaker 2: Jersey Angel actually.
[15:05] Speaker 1: But what is it? Jersey Devil is like some kind
[15:08] Speaker 1: of it's a cryptid. What does it look like? I
[15:11] Speaker 1: need to look this up.
[15:12] Speaker 2: I think he's like a good old fashioned.
[15:15] Speaker 1: Oh okay, so like bat wings uh huh, and like
[15:20] Speaker 1: maybe walks on two legs as well.
[15:23] Speaker 2: I think so, yeah, okay, almost like.
[15:26] Speaker 1: A mothman, but not quite a mothman. He's like a
[15:30] Speaker 1: Jersey version of a mothman. Well, what about the pig Lady.
[15:35] Speaker 2: I don't know about the pig Lady. I mean I've
[15:38] Speaker 2: met a few into Jersey. I didn't know there was
[15:44] Speaker 2: just a lady.
[15:45] Speaker 1: Oh, there's the pig lady.
[15:48] Speaker 2: Well, tell me about the.
[15:49] Speaker 1: Page's earned the title of the pig Lady. Well, some
[15:54] Speaker 1: of the research I got is from a website called
[15:56] Speaker 1: farms dot com.
[15:58] Speaker 2: Okay, farms, yep, is that where we're at on the
[16:03] Speaker 2: show Ron we're hitting up farms dot com for content.
[16:09] Speaker 1: Yes, this is where we started. Okay, this is what
[16:15] Speaker 1: we do here. Okay, So it says Roycefield Road, which
[16:21] Speaker 1: is in rural New Jersey, is known to some locals
[16:25] Speaker 1: as pig Lady Road. The street's unofficial name comes from
[16:31] Speaker 1: the belief that you can summon a woman with a
[16:33] Speaker 1: pig's head by chanting pig lady three times during the night.
[16:40] Speaker 2: That would actually scare me.
[16:41] Speaker 1: It's also how you can summon me on grinder. Okay.
[16:47] Speaker 1: So Weird New Jersey dot Com or Weird NJ dot
[16:51] Speaker 1: com is a great website because there is a lot
[16:55] Speaker 1: of weird stuff in New Jersey. And on their website,
[16:59] Speaker 1: I mean, it's no farm, but what is and weirdnjay
[17:05] Speaker 1: dot com there's like testimonials of people that have gone
[17:10] Speaker 1: to pig Lady Road.
[17:12] Speaker 2: Okay.
[17:13] Speaker 1: Some of what they say here on this website is
[17:16] Speaker 1: that she was basically.
[17:18] Speaker 2: Not a looker and her great personality.
[17:24] Speaker 1: Well, I think that's the problem. She also did not
[17:26] Speaker 1: live personality, didn't have much going for her, and some
[17:33] Speaker 1: say that she had the face of a pig put
[17:37] Speaker 1: on her by her father. Here it says, have you
[17:41] Speaker 1: ever heard of the pig lady? This is all I know.
[17:44] Speaker 1: This is from someone named John R. A husband came
[17:47] Speaker 1: home from work and decapitated his wife. Oh my god.
[17:51] Speaker 1: When the police got there, they never found her missing head.
[17:54] Speaker 1: Now you're supposed to go down this road off of
[17:57] Speaker 1: Royce Field Road in.
[17:59] Speaker 2: Hillsboro, Hillsboro, I know Hillsboro.
[18:02] Speaker 1: It says Doris Duke's property.
[18:05] Speaker 2: Yeah, Doris Duke was the incredibly wealthy heiress who owned
[18:10] Speaker 2: I believe it's the Duke University.
[18:13] Speaker 1: Is oh really yeah, Well, she's also owns the property
[18:19] Speaker 1: that of pig lady wrote Apparently.
[18:22] Speaker 2: There are acres upon acres of woodland that is like
[18:25] Speaker 2: owned by the Doris Duke in New Jersey that has
[18:29] Speaker 2: been preserved.
[18:30] Speaker 1: Well, it says if you honk your horn at night,
[18:33] Speaker 1: her glowing head will appear. That's what people say. Another
[18:37] Speaker 1: person said, this one is from somebody named They're calling
[18:44] Speaker 1: themselves the Pig Hunter, they said. The story goes that
[18:49] Speaker 1: in the early nineteen hundreds, when Hillsboro was all farms
[18:52] Speaker 1: in vast woods, there lived a lady who resembled a
[18:55] Speaker 1: pig she lived out, so they're just going with the
[18:57] Speaker 1: story that she was just born looking pig like. She
[19:02] Speaker 1: lived on a farm, secluded from civilization because as a
[19:05] Speaker 1: child she was picked on and teased constantly, so she
[19:08] Speaker 1: vowed never to have to deal with that kind of
[19:10] Speaker 1: torture ever again. One day, as she was gardening, a
[19:14] Speaker 1: young boy came along with two of his friends and
[19:17] Speaker 1: noticed the pig lady gardening. The boys made jokes about
[19:21] Speaker 1: her hideous pig face and vowed to go back later
[19:25] Speaker 1: that night and place a slaughtered pighead on her doorstep.
[19:30] Speaker 1: They went that night and were never heard from again.
[19:35] Speaker 1: Years later, as Hillsborough grew in population, the missing teenager's
[19:39] Speaker 1: bones were found where her garden once was. Who legend
[19:44] Speaker 1: has it that in order for her to come out,
[19:46] Speaker 1: you must annoy her by flashing your lights, screaming big lady,
[19:51] Speaker 1: and beeping the horn. Then you must leave someone from
[19:55] Speaker 1: your group on the street and drive off without looking back.
[20:00] Speaker 1: Absolutely not no way. I know. I would definitely be
[20:04] Speaker 1: one of the people that stayed in the car. Once
[20:06] Speaker 1: you get to the end of the road, you turn
[20:08] Speaker 1: around and go back, and you see what your friend
[20:10] Speaker 1: has witnessed the whole drive from leaving your friend and
[20:13] Speaker 1: coming back takes ten minutes. Oh my god.
[20:17] Speaker 2: So you leave your friend for ten minutes.
[20:20] Speaker 1: And then she goes on or whoever this is, the
[20:22] Speaker 1: pig hunter goes on to say that they did this,
[20:26] Speaker 1: and they went back to get their friend and they're like, Jen,
[20:29] Speaker 1: where are you? And she was crying in a bush.
[20:33] Speaker 1: And then when they went to get her and brought
[20:36] Speaker 1: her back in the car, she was covered with scratches
[20:38] Speaker 1: on her arms, legs and face. No big hoof scratches.
[20:44] Speaker 1: Oh wait, no, maybe she does human hands, but just
[20:47] Speaker 1: a pig face. I love it. So next time you're
[20:51] Speaker 1: in Jersey time, Yeah, I got a place for you,
[20:54] Speaker 1: pig lady road.
[20:55] Speaker 2: Well, I'll say one thing. I'm not the one getting
[20:57] Speaker 2: out of the car.
[20:58] Speaker 1: No, it's not happening. What's How about the Herbert Appleby House.
[21:02] Speaker 1: It's haunted by mud slide.
[21:06] Speaker 2: And I don't know about this. I know about Appleby's
[21:09] Speaker 2: in New Jersey. I've been to those, and I think
[21:14] Speaker 2: they probably make mud slides at the bar.
[21:17] Speaker 1: The Herbert Appleby House.
[21:20] Speaker 2: The bar in Appleby's is its own horror. Have to
[21:24] Speaker 2: hang out there?
[21:26] Speaker 1: Oh my God, this is one of Middlesex County's most
[21:29] Speaker 1: haunted pre Civil War homes.
[21:32] Speaker 2: I grew up in Middlesex County.
[21:34] Speaker 1: You know the Herbert Appleby House. Now, supposedly this is
[21:39] Speaker 1: from tap into dot Net. Supposedly, this nineteenth century residence
[21:50] Speaker 1: at one six sixty one Main Street, near Spotswood's border, Okay,
[21:56] Speaker 1: converted to the Alice Appleby Devo lib in nineteen forty six.
[22:02] Speaker 1: Alice Appleby was the daughter of Herbert Appleby. Independent paranormal
[22:06] Speaker 1: investigator Karen Temper from East Brunswick's New Jersey Ghost Organization.
[22:12] Speaker 2: These towns are all way too close to where I
[22:16] Speaker 2: actually grew up. Ross. I don't like any of this.
[22:19] Speaker 2: I feel lucky I got out alive. The way you're
[22:23] Speaker 2: painting New Jerseys, I was apparently, I was living in
[22:26] Speaker 2: a Everything was haunted around me.
[22:28] Speaker 1: This person saw a shadow figure who stood up from
[22:32] Speaker 1: the couch and walked out of the library room. Also,
[22:36] Speaker 1: a living caretaker claimed he awoke to find the apparition
[22:41] Speaker 1: of two young girls at his bedside.
[22:44] Speaker 2: I want nothing to do with any of this.
[22:46] Speaker 1: Okay, I'll give you one more. Here's another New Jersey one,
[22:49] Speaker 1: the hooker Man.
[22:51] Speaker 2: Well I know those agn pig hunter hooker Man, I
[22:56] Speaker 2: knew about all these are like characters in Bruce Springsteen's side.
[23:01] Speaker 1: The hooker Man. Oh my god, you ever you know
[23:05] Speaker 1: Franken Hooker, You've been in your trauma era. I feel like,
[23:08] Speaker 1: isn't it a trauma movie?
[23:09] Speaker 2: Or I think Franken Hooker is a proper trauma.
[23:12] Speaker 1: It's like it's like it's distributed. Well, this is hooker Man, Okay,
[23:18] Speaker 1: and hooker Man, it says. This is from Weird New
[23:21] Speaker 1: Jersey dot com. Again, it says in New Jersey. The
[23:24] Speaker 1: hooker Man legend is that a railroad worker who lost
[23:29] Speaker 1: his arm in a train mishap over a century ago.
[23:34] Speaker 1: Some say that he was a night watchman on the
[23:37] Speaker 1: Bartley Flanders Spur one night, while signaling the oncoming train
[23:44] Speaker 1: to stop, he fell and lost consciousness. When he awoke,
[23:48] Speaker 1: he realized the train had run him over and cut
[23:51] Speaker 1: off his arm. Other stories say that he lost his
[23:54] Speaker 1: arm when he fell off the train. Now I don't
[23:57] Speaker 1: understand why he's called the hooker Man. Anyway, you have
[24:01] Speaker 1: a hook, it says, now, fitting with a hook to
[24:05] Speaker 1: replace his lost hand. The hooker Man's spirit appears on
[24:11] Speaker 1: the tracks carrying a lantern looking for his lost arm.
[24:17] Speaker 2: Okay, is it a hand or is it an arm?
[24:19] Speaker 2: We got to get this hooker man thing straight.
[24:22] Speaker 1: This is yeah, this is actually, this is This is
[24:26] Speaker 1: the conversation that needs to be had. There's a person
[24:29] Speaker 1: on where New Jersey dot Com named Paul tupac Zeuski
[24:34] Speaker 1: literally spelled like tupac Zeuski. Paul tupac Zuski says, back
[24:40] Speaker 1: in the nineteen sixties and seventies, the hooker Man's sight
[24:43] Speaker 1: was a big teen attraction. A friend of mine would
[24:46] Speaker 1: go down to see the lights, and on hot summer
[24:49] Speaker 1: nights there would always be a crowd of fifteen to
[24:52] Speaker 1: thirty teen's. The hooker Man, he said, generally appeared right
[24:58] Speaker 1: before a train was to pass by. Usually it appeared
[25:01] Speaker 1: as a yellowish hazy ball that bobbed down the tracks.
[25:06] Speaker 1: One particular night, however, he became a true believer. As
[25:10] Speaker 1: a train approached at its ten mile per hour speed
[25:15] Speaker 1: on this somewhat rickety line, the hooker man light appeared
[25:19] Speaker 1: about thirty feet down the tracks from where we were standing.
[25:23] Speaker 1: As the train got closer, the light moved down the
[25:25] Speaker 1: track slowly as well. Just before the train reached the group.
[25:29] Speaker 1: The engineer dimmed his headlight for a second and then
[25:32] Speaker 1: turned it on again at its highest brightness for about
[25:36] Speaker 1: a second. In the rays of the bright light, the
[25:39] Speaker 1: group saw a translucent figure of a railroad worker in
[25:44] Speaker 1: overalls with one arm, and that arm was waving a
[25:48] Speaker 1: lantern side to side. This man's been holding onto this
[25:52] Speaker 1: story for a long time. Yeah, this is why we
[25:55] Speaker 1: gotta keep baby boomers off the internet. That's pretty much
[26:00] Speaker 1: the research i'pe done on New Jersey. Can show you
[26:03] Speaker 1: a haunted eBay doll? Yeah, please, it's time for the
[26:08] Speaker 1: dolls are living Tom Yeah, I go to eBay dot com,
[26:17] Speaker 1: I type and haunted doll. This one kind of reminded
[26:21] Speaker 1: me of you.
[26:22] Speaker 2: Oh, I can't wait to see this. This is I'm
[26:25] Speaker 2: sure this is gonna be so flattering, domb.
[26:28] Speaker 1: I think the world of you because this one is uh,
[26:33] Speaker 1: he's into prank phone.
[26:35] Speaker 2: Calls, okay, which I which is throughout my life up.
[26:37] Speaker 1: And that's the only thing that reminds me of you
[26:41] Speaker 1: with this one. With this one's name is Charlie.
[26:44] Speaker 2: Okay.
[26:45] Speaker 1: He's going for twenty one dollars and fifty nine cents.
[26:49] Speaker 1: Very random number. Okay, geeha, show us Charlie, you got it,
[26:54] Speaker 1: roz boh, well, I can see the resemble.
[26:59] Speaker 2: I can see why that would remind you of me.
[27:01] Speaker 1: Uh, I don't like this. But Charlie comes with a
[27:04] Speaker 1: tongue hanging out. Yeah. This person staged a photo of
[27:11] Speaker 1: Charlie playing in the grass with little overalls on.
[27:15] Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm not crazy about Charles. That tongue looks like
[27:20] Speaker 2: it's trying to escape.
[27:22] Speaker 1: Yeah, that hard plastic tongue just hanging out of its mouth.
[27:26] Speaker 1: And those eyebrows, the eyebrows are nobody actually has eyebrows
[27:32] Speaker 1: like that. Dolls do, Okay, So these all come with bios. Yeah, Charlie,
[27:40] Speaker 1: he was twenty two when he passed. So just so
[27:43] Speaker 1: you know, Tom, we're supposed to believe that a real
[27:46] Speaker 1: living human lived and died and then ended up in
[27:50] Speaker 1: this doll and now it's for sale on eBay.
[27:53] Speaker 2: Okay.
[27:53] Speaker 1: Of course. He was full of life, always up to something.
[27:58] Speaker 1: A natural prank stir. He had a knack for making
[28:02] Speaker 1: everyone around him laugh, often at the most unexpected moments,
[28:06] Speaker 1: from hiding whoopee cushions in the most inconvenient places to
[28:12] Speaker 1: pulling elaborate tricks on his friends. Charlie thrived on the
[28:16] Speaker 1: art of the practical joke. He's one of these trickster types.
[28:20] Speaker 2: Yeah, like demons.
[28:23] Speaker 1: Oh try these uh these peanuts, these peanut.
[28:26] Speaker 2: Brittle un unscrew the capumb peanut.
[28:30] Speaker 1: Going back to my father being a clown. That's why
[28:33] Speaker 1: I have not eaten peanut brittle. I don't trust it.
[28:37] Speaker 2: Okay, because of that.
[28:39] Speaker 1: If somebody says, would you like to try some peanut brittle,
[28:43] Speaker 1: I run because I know what that means. A snake's
[28:45] Speaker 1: gonna flash my face and I don't like that. Or
[28:48] Speaker 1: if somebody says, smell this flower, No, you don't do that.
[28:51] Speaker 2: Who are you hanging out with that? These are even
[28:53] Speaker 2: options all the time, like, hey, you want some peanut
[28:56] Speaker 2: brittle rons? And when's the last time you had peanut brittles?
[29:00] Speaker 1: Seven years older? Every day?
[29:03] Speaker 2: Okay, fair enough.
[29:04] Speaker 1: People just come up to me, they say, you want
[29:05] Speaker 1: some peanut.
[29:06] Speaker 2: But if I had a pack of gum and said here,
[29:08] Speaker 2: pull a stick out.
[29:09] Speaker 1: I've learned my lesson on that one. No matter how stanky,
[29:14] Speaker 1: my breath is not grabing unless I have control of
[29:18] Speaker 1: the gum.
[29:18] Speaker 2: I understand that completely.
[29:20] Speaker 1: Because if you don't know this people, and this is
[29:23] Speaker 1: a real thing. You have to be careful watch where
[29:26] Speaker 1: you're getting gum from because there there could be a
[29:29] Speaker 1: spring on it, and that.
[29:30] Speaker 2: Hurts, especially when you don't expect it. It's like a
[29:33] Speaker 2: stick in your finger in a mouse trap.
[29:35] Speaker 1: It is like that. Yeah, Okay, So basically that's that's
[29:40] Speaker 1: who Charlie was. Charlie was that kind of person. So
[29:45] Speaker 1: it says here these are some of the things you'll
[29:47] Speaker 1: experience if you buy Charlie. Unpredictable laughter. I'm used to that.
[29:53] Speaker 1: The sound of laughter, loud, jarring, and often inappropriately timed.
[29:58] Speaker 1: Oh that, nothing's worse than when some laughs during your punchline,
[30:04] Speaker 1: a mischievous cackle that's filled with irreverence. Okay, When Charlie
[30:10] Speaker 1: feels particularly playful, lights in the room will turn on
[30:14] Speaker 1: and off in rapid succession. Sometimes the lights will blink
[30:19] Speaker 1: to the beat of a rhythm, almost as if Charlie
[30:21] Speaker 1: is enjoying a private joke at the expense of his surroundings.
[30:25] Speaker 1: This guy just never quits, and that's the thing. You
[30:28] Speaker 1: got to turn it off sometime.
[30:29] Speaker 2: No, Charlie sounds like he would be like an improv
[30:34] Speaker 2: It sounds like Charlie B level three and you see me,
[30:38] Speaker 2: you see.
[30:40] Speaker 1: Oh you want to suggestion? How about you go in
[30:46] Speaker 1: a trash and Charlie, Yes, that's a suggestion from the audience. Exactly,
[30:52] Speaker 1: stay there.
[30:54] Speaker 2: First word, last word? How about we just do last word.
[30:57] Speaker 1: Charlie, zip zap z more like help me out, Tom,
[31:05] Speaker 1: more like, uh, we're not improv I don't. This is
[31:09] Speaker 1: why why you're supposed to damn it. This is what
[31:12] Speaker 1: you're supposed to take.
[31:13] Speaker 2: Going to be doing level one classes? What would it
[31:17] Speaker 2: take for you to do improv classes with me?
[31:20] Speaker 1: Oh my god, I'm looking right now. Hang on, you see.
[31:27] Speaker 2: To farm dot com instead of this.
[31:30] Speaker 1: So farm dot com is offering h improv classes. They
[31:36] Speaker 1: are offering pig improv. Tom, let's do improv class together.
[31:43] Speaker 2: Who do you have for level one? Oh? Pig, pig
[31:46] Speaker 2: lady was my teacher. Level two is going to be
[31:49] Speaker 2: hooker man. It's all the that should be your improv school.
[31:55] Speaker 1: Oh? Absolutely, okay. Improv one on one starts the twenty third.
[32:02] Speaker 1: There's openings, if you can believe it, there's opening.
[32:05] Speaker 2: I don't want to even joke about this.
[32:07] Speaker 1: Now Wednesdays three pm to six.
[32:10] Speaker 2: I'm so busy.
[32:11] Speaker 1: Oh you're not, No, Tom make time for this.
[32:15] Speaker 2: No, I guess I'm doing him. I guess I'm a
[32:18] Speaker 2: level one improv student. Now.
[32:20] Speaker 1: I took improv during the pandemic over Zoom because I
[32:24] Speaker 1: was I was like, I need to do something. I
[32:27] Speaker 1: took the Groundlings. The hardest thing I've ever done in
[32:29] Speaker 1: my life.
[32:30] Speaker 2: Really over im over zoom. It would be hard.
[32:33] Speaker 1: It was so hard. They were constantly like doing different
[32:37] Speaker 1: kind of voice or whatever. And I was like, I'm
[32:40] Speaker 1: kind like, I like don't to that kind of stuff.
[32:45] Speaker 1: I'm not that kind of like person. I don't do
[32:48] Speaker 1: like Oh and now I am a lady that works
[32:52] Speaker 1: out of store, Like, I can't do that anyway. Charlie
[32:57] Speaker 1: cud You also sometimes hear Train because of Charlie, because
[33:03] Speaker 1: it seems like in his final moments he was hit
[33:07] Speaker 1: by a train. The trains the Hooker Man game and
[33:11] Speaker 1: got him. You know what, I was just thinking about
[33:15] Speaker 1: how iconic of a Halloween person you are.
[33:19] Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a big thing for me and Julia is
[33:22] Speaker 2: uh my wife, is Halloween turned into our thing?
[33:27] Speaker 1: Your Halloween party. The one time I went had literally
[33:31] Speaker 1: it was speaking of hocus Pocus. It was like you
[33:34] Speaker 1: had like a band where the people were dressed up
[33:37] Speaker 1: like the kid like spooky and they're playing spooky music.
[33:40] Speaker 1: Like do you only see that in a movie? You
[33:42] Speaker 1: don't see that in real life.
[33:43] Speaker 2: That was literally the best compliment we ever got was
[33:46] Speaker 2: that people were like, this is like the party that
[33:50] Speaker 2: I didn't think actually happened in real life, but I
[33:54] Speaker 2: only saw in like teen comedies. Everybody's in a costume.
[33:57] Speaker 2: There was a stage in the backyard with a band
[34:01] Speaker 2: with our friend Chockey, and he had all his friends
[34:03] Speaker 2: in their dress like Frankenstein and doing all this stuff.
[34:07] Speaker 2: And yeah, it was pretty nuts.
[34:10] Speaker 1: You know who is there that I love? Vanessa Bayer? Yeah,
[34:13] Speaker 1: and I go where you just like, and she goes,
[34:18] Speaker 1: I'm a little lady.
[34:23] Speaker 2: She's so funny.
[34:24] Speaker 1: She's so funny. Can't play some ghost voices? Sure, it's
[34:29] Speaker 1: time for EVP or ev plicse EVP electronic voice phenomenon.
[34:40] Speaker 1: That's what people believe they've captured a ghost speaking. I
[34:44] Speaker 1: go to YouTube dot com.
[34:46] Speaker 2: Okay, are these the ones that come from the noise
[34:51] Speaker 2: on a cassette? Like that gets lost? Like sometimes people
[34:54] Speaker 2: say there's these little stretches on cassette tapes where you
[34:58] Speaker 2: can hear people trying to communicate.
[35:01] Speaker 1: Are you talking about like the subliminal messages and like
[35:07] Speaker 1: not that?
[35:08] Speaker 2: So this is more this is like an art bell
[35:10] Speaker 2: kind of thing. Yeah, where it would be like these
[35:13] Speaker 2: would be the sounds that exist like in the frequencies that.
[35:18] Speaker 1: I mean, I think it sometimes can be. Okay, these
[35:20] Speaker 1: are more organic, at least these two that I've chosen.
[35:25] Speaker 1: We sometimes will have ones that come from like devices
[35:28] Speaker 1: or whatever. Okay, but my favorite is like where someone
[35:33] Speaker 1: just has a camera running and then all of a
[35:35] Speaker 1: sudden you hear like like that.
[35:39] Speaker 2: This is the stuff that spooks me out. Yeah, audio
[35:43] Speaker 2: scares me more than than seeing something. Hearing something scares
[35:47] Speaker 2: me more than seeing something.
[35:49] Speaker 1: Ah, I'm a feeling like feeling something is that I
[35:53] Speaker 1: can't deal with the thought of something like that I
[35:56] Speaker 1: can't see touching me.
[35:57] Speaker 2: Yeah. When we were in sell and we stayed in
[35:59] Speaker 2: a house that was from it was like built in
[36:03] Speaker 2: sixteen eighty one, and it was horrifying.
[36:07] Speaker 1: That's so scary. What was the what was it?
[36:11] Speaker 2: It was just a three story house that the group
[36:15] Speaker 2: we went with stayed at. And the other thing that
[36:18] Speaker 2: was I think part of my problem was that the
[36:21] Speaker 2: doorways are so low in houses. Like I banged my
[36:24] Speaker 2: head like hard for five times, Like I mean like
[36:28] Speaker 2: full on walking through a doorway and not realizing that
[36:32] Speaker 2: you're clipping your forehead on the top of it to
[36:34] Speaker 2: where like oh, seeing stars five times. So I might
[36:37] Speaker 2: have just been like concussed, oh the sort. But it
[36:42] Speaker 2: is just a weird feeling. I don't know if it's
[36:44] Speaker 2: that the house is so old and it's kind of crooked,
[36:47] Speaker 2: and it's like it's not it's not a RESTful experience
[36:51] Speaker 2: being in a house.
[36:52] Speaker 1: Now, not at all, And it's just like I don't know,
[36:56] Speaker 1: like that there's no insulation or I don't know what
[36:58] Speaker 1: it is like it just I hate that I'm not
[37:00] Speaker 1: into old houses like that at all. I've really come
[37:03] Speaker 1: to the realization after staying in all of these haunted
[37:07] Speaker 1: old ass places. I love like mid century Okay, I'm
[37:10] Speaker 1: okay with that, but when we're talking eighteen hundreds or
[37:14] Speaker 1: before then, I'm not into it.
[37:17] Speaker 2: No, it's even if nothing's going on, they're still creepy.
[37:21] Speaker 2: They're so creepy.
[37:22] Speaker 1: Oh, they're just so creepy. When I see like a
[37:25] Speaker 1: floral bedspread and like one of these old bed and
[37:29] Speaker 1: breakfast that I'm already spooked. I'm like a ready screaming. Yeah,
[37:33] Speaker 1: I see like one of these like Tiffany lamps or whatever.
[37:36] Speaker 1: Get me out of here. Okay, So these are two EVPs,
[37:41] Speaker 1: this first one. They're both from a channel called Hybrid
[37:46] Speaker 1: Soulless Paranormal, and they believe this is the voice of
[37:51] Speaker 1: a mature woman, which feels like a porn category. But okay,
[37:56] Speaker 1: mature woman, what is she saying, Tom sharp Lang, Okay,
[38:06] Speaker 1: wait one more? I love you play it.
[38:16] Speaker 2: I don't know. Sounds like the NBC.
[38:21] Speaker 1: That's not what they believe.
[38:22] Speaker 2: I didn't think she was saying NBC.
[38:25] Speaker 1: Hybrid Solace paranormal. Did they think it was a you're
[38:29] Speaker 1: a loser, B she moved me, C he lives here?
[38:38] Speaker 1: Or D you booze too much? Okay, it's one of these.
[38:47] Speaker 2: I would say, B she moved me.
[38:50] Speaker 1: Yea, that is what they believe. Tom sharplying one for one.
[38:56] Speaker 2: And now I'm terrified now I hear it.
[39:00] Speaker 1: Here's the next one. I'm not sure if it's the
[39:03] Speaker 1: same location. I don't know, but it's the same channel
[39:06] Speaker 1: posted this one. Was it saying I don't think this
[39:09] Speaker 1: is a mature woman at this time, I don't know
[39:11] Speaker 1: who this is. It might be the same lady, and
[39:23] Speaker 1: he guesses I don't have any guess that's okay. Did
[39:29] Speaker 1: they think it was a you are so boring girl?
[39:33] Speaker 1: B Louis was born to do it? C. I could
[39:39] Speaker 1: have sworn you're dead or D the chicken is warm,
[39:44] Speaker 1: I swear.
[39:48] Speaker 2: I guess I would say C.
[39:51] Speaker 1: They believe it was B. Lewis was born to do it.
[39:55] Speaker 2: I want to know Lewis. Well here I hear it,
[40:01] Speaker 2: so once you know, yeah, or if it's Louis c K.
[40:08] Speaker 1: That's what I'm afraid of.
[40:09] Speaker 2: I don't want to know what he was born to do.
[40:12] Speaker 1: Tom One last thing. Yes, I'm just curious some of
[40:16] Speaker 1: your beliefs. UFOs were ye at with them.
[40:22] Speaker 2: I think again, I think something's going on. I don't
[40:26] Speaker 2: know where I stand on the continuum of things, but
[40:28] Speaker 2: I would just say, yeah, I believe something's up.
[40:32] Speaker 1: Okay. What about Ouiji boards? Yeah, one of them.
[40:38] Speaker 2: When we went to Salem, there is a wija board
[40:41] Speaker 2: museum and it was the coolest, one of the coolest
[40:45] Speaker 2: things I've ever seen. The guy who runs it, they're
[40:49] Speaker 2: his boards he's been collecting them his whole life. And
[40:52] Speaker 2: first you're just seeing this guy, this funny kook, and
[40:57] Speaker 2: I said, in the best possible intent, and he's living
[41:02] Speaker 2: his dream. He has a museum of wig aboards. It's
[41:05] Speaker 2: the thing he's interested in more than anything. It was amazing.
[41:09] Speaker 1: That's great. I like seeing that.
[41:11] Speaker 2: Mm hm. But they do they spook me out?
[41:15] Speaker 1: Yeah, do you really think that you could like summon
[41:18] Speaker 1: a demon.
[41:20] Speaker 2: I don't think that's the I don't think that happens
[41:23] Speaker 2: all the time. But again, but it just seemed. Look,
[41:27] Speaker 2: they stay just scare me because suddenly if you're if
[41:29] Speaker 2: the when the mood gets right on certain things. I've
[41:32] Speaker 2: never done a wig aboard thing because I just I
[41:35] Speaker 2: just it just never happened.
[41:37] Speaker 1: But I but if a demon's feeling in the mood.
[41:41] Speaker 2: The scary thing on them is when says goodbye, like
[41:44] Speaker 2: on the board.
[41:45] Speaker 1: Oh that sounds great.
[41:46] Speaker 2: But just like that, which eventually a demon says, I'm
[41:49] Speaker 2: leaving like that.
[41:50] Speaker 1: To me, this is the worst slumber party I've ever
[41:52] Speaker 1: been through.
[41:53] Speaker 2: You kids are lame. I'm out of here. I'm going
[41:56] Speaker 2: to go hang out with the hooker man.
[41:59] Speaker 1: But that's what I what are like, how does that
[42:01] Speaker 1: work when you're like a dead person? Because I feel
[42:05] Speaker 1: like at slumber parties a lot of times people aren't
[42:07] Speaker 1: trying to speak to specifically someone, so instead they're just
[42:12] Speaker 1: like asking questions will I go on a date with
[42:16] Speaker 1: Derek or whatever? And then it's like who's the ghost
[42:19] Speaker 1: that's like, Okay, we're getting a call coming in from
[42:23] Speaker 1: like this these twelve year old slumber party Okay, let's
[42:28] Speaker 1: let's do some fun. Let's say like, no, he hates you. Yeah,
[42:32] Speaker 1: that's the kind of job that or the old hag
[42:35] Speaker 1: that crawls on people when they have sleeper listens, those
[42:38] Speaker 1: are the ones I'm applying for the first day I'm dead.
[42:41] Speaker 2: I guess I would want to do some sort of
[42:44] Speaker 2: wage board thing.
[42:46] Speaker 1: Oh my god, you would be so good at that
[42:48] Speaker 1: as a ghost.
[42:49] Speaker 2: Just say like Derek is dead?
[42:52] Speaker 1: What he's up here?
[42:56] Speaker 2: Oh?
[42:57] Speaker 1: Sorry, wrong, Derek?
[42:58] Speaker 2: Oh yeah. I wonder if that's like you're low on
[43:01] Speaker 2: the ladder of spirits and you're just like you have
[43:04] Speaker 2: to do like slummer party duty.
[43:07] Speaker 1: To work your way. Yeah, what about synchronosities or you know,
[43:14] Speaker 1: are you into that sort of a thing. Are you
[43:17] Speaker 1: someone that goes it's a sign. It means something.
[43:20] Speaker 2: I think to a degree, I am. I. I guess
[43:23] Speaker 2: the biggest thing I would say the idea of deja
[43:26] Speaker 2: vous for me, and the idea of time I just
[43:31] Speaker 2: see as completely. It's not linear at all. And I
[43:35] Speaker 2: feel like sometimes I feel like I've done all of
[43:39] Speaker 2: this already and I remember doing it.
[43:42] Speaker 1: Are you a past lives person?
[43:44] Speaker 2: I do think you. I do. I believe ultimately guess
[43:47] Speaker 2: that just like in energy, and I think you can
[43:52] Speaker 2: come back and do better next time and maybe get
[43:56] Speaker 2: rewarded for being a good person that maybe you art
[44:00] Speaker 2: at a better place.
[44:02] Speaker 1: Would you guess that you're a young one or an
[44:04] Speaker 1: old one, like you've been here a lot or new
[44:08] Speaker 1: I think this is the last one for me, maybe
[44:11] Speaker 1: one more.
[44:12] Speaker 2: I think I've been a few rounds already, and we're
[44:16] Speaker 2: waiting for like finally it's just like, okay, fine, now
[44:19] Speaker 2: we're gonna now we're going to take care of you
[44:21] Speaker 2: because you were you did right.
[44:24] Speaker 1: I think you were a vaudeville starr.
[44:26] Speaker 2: So you think that's what I was the last time? Sure?
[44:29] Speaker 1: Or like a radio guy or something like early radio voices.
[44:35] Speaker 2: Sure, I could see that. And then now I'm back.
[44:38] Speaker 2: What did I do in that previous life that may
[44:40] Speaker 2: put me in this one? I'm getting punished a little bit.
[44:44] Speaker 1: Na last one. Bigfoot? Who's that? What's the deal real?
[44:53] Speaker 2: I don't know if Bigfoot's real? I do. I do
[44:56] Speaker 2: believe that there's like the idea that Australia is so
[45:00] Speaker 2: huge and we don't know what's going on in the
[45:03] Speaker 2: middle of it, that they're still they still find species
[45:07] Speaker 2: and up thing. That's the scariest thing ever when you
[45:11] Speaker 2: think of Australia so enormous, but everybody just lives on
[45:14] Speaker 2: the coast in the middle of it is just untamed
[45:18] Speaker 2: and it's just like, that's terrifying to me.
[45:20] Speaker 1: Oh, there's so many scary things. My biggest thing, and
[45:23] Speaker 1: I think it goes back to the peanut brittle, is snakes.
[45:26] Speaker 1: I don't like them at all.
[45:29] Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that's one of the creepiest things about I
[45:31] Speaker 2: would love to go to Australia, but that part of
[45:33] Speaker 2: it freaks me out. Is the seat too, the wild,
[45:37] Speaker 2: the way nature just spills over, like you see a
[45:40] Speaker 2: kangaroo and you're walking down the street.
[45:43] Speaker 1: So you believe in Bigfoot, is what you're saying.
[45:45] Speaker 2: I believe. I think there could definitely be some Bigfoot
[45:48] Speaker 2: out there.
[45:49] Speaker 1: You know, there's one in Jersey called big red Eye.
[45:52] Speaker 1: Big red Eye, Old red Eye are so okay, I
[45:57] Speaker 1: just just so that I don't misrepresent you're your heritage.
[46:03] Speaker 2: My heritage. Let's please show respect to my New Jersey heritage.
[46:08] Speaker 1: Big red Eye. I took one of those to get here,
[46:15] Speaker 1: Big red Eye. According to Weird New Jersey dot com, Bigfoot,
[46:20] Speaker 1: big red Eye. So it's basically so they got a
[46:23] Speaker 1: great picture accurate. So basically this one is Bigfoot but
[46:32] Speaker 1: with red eyes.
[46:34] Speaker 2: Yeah. Now I'm scared of Bigfoot. I always thought Bigfoot
[46:36] Speaker 2: you could coexist with, Like Bigfoot's not coming to kill you.
[46:39] Speaker 2: This one is left alone.
[46:41] Speaker 1: Or Here's here's what I'm gonna do. I'm going to
[46:44] Speaker 1: pitch this as a commercial to the commercial people, and
[46:47] Speaker 1: I'm going to get ben Stein clear rise.
[46:51] Speaker 2: Sure, that's what bring them back right right? Wheel them in.
[46:58] Speaker 1: Clear Oh Bigfoot, your eyes? I don't remember. I'm not
[47:04] Speaker 1: good at pressions. This is the d stuff we're going
[47:06] Speaker 1: to work on at UCPUS.
[47:08] Speaker 2: This is why say we want to get better at
[47:11] Speaker 2: character work.
[47:12] Speaker 1: It says, over a period of two weeks, back in
[47:14] Speaker 1: nineteen seventy seven, strange moaning sounds and eerie, haunting screams
[47:21] Speaker 1: filled the night along wolf Pitt Road in Sussex County, Ring.
[47:26] Speaker 2: About a little north of where I grew up.
[47:28] Speaker 1: But it always started around two am and went on
[47:32] Speaker 1: until almost dawn. It sounded like some kind of huge
[47:36] Speaker 1: primeate making these noises, and it woke me out of
[47:39] Speaker 1: my sound sleep. I had the windows open so I
[47:42] Speaker 1: could hear it. Really well, I'm not going to read
[47:46] Speaker 1: all of this, but it turns out it was Big
[47:48] Speaker 1: Red Eye.
[47:49] Speaker 2: Okay, New Jersey's a creepy place. There was a a
[47:52] Speaker 2: There was an amusement park and it had had animals
[47:56] Speaker 2: in it where you drive through and then that went
[47:58] Speaker 2: under and then they animals were just like supposedly loose
[48:02] Speaker 2: in the state.
[48:03] Speaker 1: Oh that's nice.
[48:06] Speaker 2: The lions.
[48:08] Speaker 1: That's nice.
[48:10] Speaker 2: All right.
[48:10] Speaker 1: Well, I guess that's all I got for you.
[48:13] Speaker 2: Well, I guess i'll see over you said Wednesdays at
[48:16] Speaker 2: three to six. We're doing well, Okay.
[48:20] Speaker 1: I think we're going to do good together. We could
[48:22] Speaker 1: do a two person team if you want.
[48:24] Speaker 2: Yeah, we could go in just maybe in a two
[48:27] Speaker 2: headed giant sweater. We have.
[48:32] Speaker 1: Or a horse front back.
[48:34] Speaker 2: We split it then fifty fifth, like we only pay
[48:37] Speaker 2: half because we say we're one horse, right, and we'll
[48:40] Speaker 2: do the improv.
[48:42] Speaker 1: We'll be like the Sclar brothers.
[48:44] Speaker 2: Will be just like the Sclar brothers.
[48:49] Speaker 1: Tom Sharply And where do you want people to find
[48:51] Speaker 1: you besides at UCB every week? Yeah?

[49:06] Speaker 2: Unbelievable. Wow, What am I doing with my life? Wow?
[49:10] Speaker 2: And I do Double Threat every week with Julie Clowns there. Yeah.
[49:14] Speaker 1: Did you ever have a psychic on or anything like that?
[49:18] Speaker 2: Yeah, we've I've had people over the We had a
[49:20] Speaker 2: psychic on Double Threat.
[49:22] Speaker 1: I remember that that because you did who was it
[49:25] Speaker 1: Orson Wells or somebody you did a seance?
[49:29] Speaker 2: I think so, and I think John Daly was there
[49:32] Speaker 2: for it. And then just the psychic was saying all
[49:36] Speaker 2: these things about John's life, and then off air, John
[49:38] Speaker 2: was just like, none of that was I was just
[49:41] Speaker 2: being polite. Oh, I didn't want to like burn the
[49:44] Speaker 2: person on air, but was like they got everything wrong.
[49:48] Speaker 1: So well, great, Yes, Double Threat, which I'm obsessed with.
