[0:07] Speaker 1: What's that at the bed spooky? Hey, juky, I'm really
[0:12] Speaker 1: sure it's dead. It's coming this way.
[0:15] Speaker 2: Wait a minute, alas Nandez.
[0:24] Speaker 1: Polle, Hey boo, it's me Roz and welcome to Ghosted
[0:32] Speaker 1: by ros Hernandez, the podcast where I talk to people
[0:35] Speaker 1: that I like about the paranormal. We have got a
[0:39] Speaker 1: three peat customer, Curly Velasquez on the show, Gotta love Them.
[0:47] Speaker 1: We'll get into that in the second. But hey, here's
[0:50] Speaker 1: one from the Facebook group that we have. Oh, can't
[0:53] Speaker 1: forget about the Facebook group. It's called Ghosted by ros Hernandez. Okay,
[0:59] Speaker 1: here we go. This story here. This is from jen Zella,
[1:02] Speaker 1: who writes, my grandmother passed in twenty eighteen, and it
[1:08] Speaker 1: devastated my whole family. She was a woman of God.
[1:12] Speaker 1: I never doubted her faith or her love for her family.
[1:17] Speaker 1: And she was an avid chainsmoker. These three things sort
[1:22] Speaker 1: of anchored the moment I'm about to share. Mama and
[1:27] Speaker 1: I were out to pick up candy for Easter baskets
[1:31] Speaker 1: in twenty nineteen for my nieces and nephews, and we
[1:34] Speaker 1: were the only car visible either way on a long
[1:39] Speaker 1: stretch of Interstate It was a beautiful sunny day. At
[1:43] Speaker 1: the time, we were in my mom's very pristine car,
[1:48] Speaker 1: complete with leather seats that were in better condition than
[1:52] Speaker 1: most people's real skin, soyel this car had never been
[1:56] Speaker 1: smoked in. We were talking about a certain face book
[2:00] Speaker 1: post of this poem of a mother's prayer that talked
[2:03] Speaker 1: about how a mother's love is never ending, and we
[2:07] Speaker 1: had each seen the post and it really resonated with us.
[2:11] Speaker 1: No sooner than we said a mother's prayer, the car
[2:16] Speaker 1: filled with a completely invisible fog of cigarette smoke. Mama
[2:22] Speaker 1: and I got slack jawed and stared at each other
[2:24] Speaker 1: with eyes as wide as saucers for a moment, and
[2:28] Speaker 1: then we each smiled and simultaneous shock and comfort. I
[2:33] Speaker 1: shouted Grandma Joe at the exact moment Mom shouted, it's Mom.
[2:40] Speaker 1: It was a beautiful moment that had us in tears.
[2:43] Speaker 1: Fast forward to two years ago, my Auntie, who also
[2:47] Speaker 1: had been an avid chain smoker, passed away pretty suddenly
[2:50] Speaker 1: and unexpectedly. Mama, in the new car she had just bought,
[2:55] Speaker 1: was on her way to town to see my cousin
[2:58] Speaker 1: a few days after losing my aunt and wouldn't you know,
[3:02] Speaker 1: on a stretch of country road with no other cars
[3:05] Speaker 1: or people in sight, her car filled with another invisible
[3:09] Speaker 1: fog of fresh cigarette smoke. I'm obsessed. Thank you Jenzila
[3:14] Speaker 1: presenting that. That to me is just such a I mean,
[3:18] Speaker 1: it's it's a beautiful story, but it's also like such
[3:21] Speaker 1: a fun, funny way to like make your presence known.
[3:26] Speaker 1: I wonder if it works for like people that smoke weed,
[3:28] Speaker 1: or like people that vape, or like, because you always
[3:31] Speaker 1: hear about like yes, cigarettes are cigar kind of smoke
[3:35] Speaker 1: smelled or pipe tobacco, these old ghosts that would smoke it,
[3:39] Speaker 1: But like I don't know, I'm just obsessed with it,
[3:43] Speaker 1: Like get out those Marlboro reds. Well, thanks for sending that, Okay.
[3:49] Speaker 1: Carly Velasquez is hilarious to me, gorgeous as well, and
[3:55] Speaker 1: an internet personality, famously for BuzzFeed. And he's been on
[3:59] Speaker 1: the show multiple times and always has great stories. And
[4:04] Speaker 1: U let's do it. Here's me and my friend Curly
[4:08] Speaker 1: Velasquez and with the show. Oh my god, we have
[4:18] Speaker 1: a three peat customer here. Curly, welcome back.
[4:25] Speaker 2: Thank you so much for having me. You already know
[4:26] Speaker 2: I'm obsessed with you.
[4:27] Speaker 1: I'm obsessed with you.
[4:29] Speaker 2: I live for you. I live for you, like talking
[4:32] Speaker 2: and sassing the ghosts and the spirit world, and they're
[4:35] Speaker 2: not ready for you.
[4:36] Speaker 1: Somebody has to I think that's the problem. They either
[4:39] Speaker 1: get just screamed at or people being like it's okay,
[4:43] Speaker 1: you're just misunderstood. And I'm like, if you're an asshole,
[4:47] Speaker 1: you're gonna get talked to, like an asshole gets talked to.
[4:50] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I don't care if you're dead or alive. Yeah.
[4:53] Speaker 2: I have this weird thing where like, and you know,
[4:55] Speaker 2: we can dive into whenever, but whenever I dream about
[4:58] Speaker 2: spirits or I feel like they're in my dreams talking
[5:01] Speaker 2: to me. It's really strange that my default is always
[5:03] Speaker 2: to be mad at them. Like it's never I'm never like,
[5:07] Speaker 2: oh my god, like how can I help you. I'm
[5:09] Speaker 2: always like get the fuck out of here. It's so
[5:12] Speaker 2: like it's my natural like instinct to be like what
[5:15] Speaker 2: are you doing? Like go away? So I've I've been
[5:20] Speaker 2: trying to train myself to be a little bit more like, oh, okay,
[5:24] Speaker 2: so you're here, what's what's going on?
[5:27] Speaker 1: You know, They're just like, hey, how are you? You're like, eh, yeah, well,
[5:33] Speaker 1: are you like that in life when you're awake.
[5:36] Speaker 2: No, When people come talk to me in real life,
[5:38] Speaker 2: I'm very like, how are you tell me about your life?
[5:41] Speaker 2: Like super welcoming. There's just something about my dreams where
[5:46] Speaker 2: I think it's like, uh, you know again, we can
[5:49] Speaker 2: dive into this deeper as well. But I tend to
[5:51] Speaker 2: be kind of psychic with dreams, so I can like
[5:54] Speaker 2: predict certain things or I'll know that something's gonna happen,
[5:57] Speaker 2: like early in March, I started telling my mom at
[6:00] Speaker 2: the end of the month. In early April, something's gonna happen,
[6:04] Speaker 2: like something like big. And then I had more dreams
[6:08] Speaker 2: and I was like, I think it's gonna be three
[6:10] Speaker 2: earthquakes that I'm seeing and I'm like, it's one big
[6:14] Speaker 2: one and two little ones. And I thought they were
[6:17] Speaker 2: going to be in La because the dream kind of
[6:19] Speaker 2: showed me an event that was happening in La and
[6:22] Speaker 2: we had they had that massive one I think in Taiwan,
[6:26] Speaker 2: and I was like, Okay, I think that's the one,
[6:28] Speaker 2: like and then it happened I think early April, and
[6:31] Speaker 2: then there was another one here in La like right
[6:35] Speaker 2: after that was smaller, and I know we have earthquakes
[6:38] Speaker 2: in LA all the time, so you're like, whatever, Well.
[6:40] Speaker 1: There was that one in New York too, which was
[6:43] Speaker 1: so unusual for them.
[6:44] Speaker 2: So that's the one that I'm like, it was so
[6:46] Speaker 2: weird that I would just felt it in my dreams
[6:48] Speaker 2: that something was gonna happen.
[6:51] Speaker 1: So you're like a psychic like that now.
[6:53] Speaker 2: I mean, I'm trying to get better. I dreamt that
[6:57] Speaker 2: I was in a building and the building started to collab.
[7:00] Speaker 2: So I was on vacation and I was in this
[7:01] Speaker 2: building like falling through the air from the inside. And
[7:06] Speaker 2: the next day when I woke up and I was
[7:08] Speaker 2: going to bed, there had been that building collapse in Miami,
[7:12] Speaker 2: and so like things like that, like I don't I
[7:15] Speaker 2: don't really know where they're going to happen, and I'm
[7:17] Speaker 2: trying to get better at where they're going to happen.
[7:19] Speaker 2: But like I dreamt about September eleven, I dreamt the
[7:23] Speaker 2: two planes. A plane crashed into my house and I died,
[7:26] Speaker 2: and then I woke up again and my house was
[7:28] Speaker 2: on fire, and then a plane crashed into my neighbor's house,
[7:32] Speaker 2: like right before Lisa left, Di Lopez died. I dreamt
[7:35] Speaker 2: that I died in a car accident in like off
[7:37] Speaker 2: a road in a jungle, my car flipped over. She
[7:39] Speaker 2: passed away in Costa Rica like things like that. So
[7:41] Speaker 2: I'll dream it, but I can't pin it.
[7:44] Speaker 1: What we never got into this because I think I
[7:46] Speaker 1: knew that you were like a little bet like medium.
[7:51] Speaker 1: I didn't know that you were like predict things.
[7:57] Speaker 2: So my grandma passed away last year. She was like
[7:59] Speaker 2: truly was one of my life. If I could tell
[8:02] Speaker 2: you what it's like to have a best spirit friend
[8:05] Speaker 2: that has probably been with me across the universe countless
[8:09] Speaker 2: times over and over again, it would be like my grandma,
[8:11] Speaker 2: you know, like we were just like I know that
[8:13] Speaker 2: she was sent here to kind of put things into
[8:16] Speaker 2: place so that her son could be born and then
[8:18] Speaker 2: I could come out, and we're very much connected. When
[8:21] Speaker 2: she passed, I start I still talk to her every
[8:23] Speaker 2: single day, as if the way that I would call
[8:26] Speaker 2: her on the phone, you know, like I would always
[8:28] Speaker 2: go like, oh, get that gimmick Gentas is what I
[8:31] Speaker 2: would always say, Like gimmick wenthess is like what do
[8:34] Speaker 2: you have to say for yourself? You know, like what
[8:36] Speaker 2: do you have to what's going on? Tell me something
[8:38] Speaker 2: about yourself. And I still do that all the time.
[8:41] Speaker 2: And the way that I feel like that has opened
[8:44] Speaker 2: up different channels in terms of things that I dream,
[8:46] Speaker 2: even things that I hear around people that have passed over.
[8:51] Speaker 2: I feel like it's opening the channels a little bit more.
[8:55] Speaker 1: When you have these prediction dreams, like how do you
[8:59] Speaker 1: are you able to tell that it is a prediction
[9:02] Speaker 1: or is it like how do you decipher like oh
[9:04] Speaker 1: I just had a good dream, or like that seems
[9:07] Speaker 1: like something's going to happen.
[9:09] Speaker 2: I have different signals, so one of them, one of
[9:11] Speaker 2: my main signals that if I die in the dream,
[9:14] Speaker 2: it's probably going to be something that happens. And I
[9:18] Speaker 2: kind of die in my dreams a lot, and we
[9:21] Speaker 2: can also talk about that too. I go into like
[9:23] Speaker 2: different I had this one dream where I woke up
[9:26] Speaker 2: and I was in this like chapel, and when I
[9:30] Speaker 2: woke up, I was sleeping on this bed and there
[9:32] Speaker 2: was like, I don't know, maybe like five little kids,
[9:35] Speaker 2: six little kids at the door, and they were like,
[9:37] Speaker 2: he's awake, and they were giggling and they ran off
[9:40] Speaker 2: and I was like where am I? And I came
[9:42] Speaker 2: out and I was in this chapel that was for
[9:46] Speaker 2: it was like a choir, like it was like it
[9:48] Speaker 2: was I don't want to see, like an if you
[9:50] Speaker 2: can imagine an orphanage type of a feel. But the
[9:53] Speaker 2: way that they kept the kids busy was to a choir.
[9:55] Speaker 2: And so I walked around and they were like, we're
[9:58] Speaker 2: having a celebration today. It's an honor and blah blah blah.
[10:00] Speaker 2: And I remember hearing them like the most beautiful voices,
[10:05] Speaker 2: like just the most beautiful songs, and I remember thinking like, damn,
[10:08] Speaker 2: everyone here can sing, and I go, I go. There
[10:11] Speaker 2: are a lot in dreams like I'll wake up and
[10:13] Speaker 2: I'll be like talking to a teacher another teacher, and
[10:17] Speaker 2: we'll be like, oh, let's get out of this room.
[10:18] Speaker 2: Let's go to another room because the kids need a practice.
[10:20] Speaker 2: So one of my identifiers for what I believe will
[10:23] Speaker 2: happen is if I die in the dream. Another one
[10:26] Speaker 2: is if it's like a conversation, like there's nothing else
[10:29] Speaker 2: going on, I'm just talking to the individual about something.
[10:33] Speaker 2: So like I had a dream the other day that
[10:34] Speaker 2: I was talking to my friend and he was telling
[10:37] Speaker 2: me about his dad. He told me about this dinner
[10:40] Speaker 2: where the dad went around the table acknowledging everybody at
[10:43] Speaker 2: the dinner except for him, and he was very upset
[10:46] Speaker 2: over the fact that he wasn't being acknowledged. And I
[10:49] Speaker 2: woke up. I hit him up and I was like, hey,
[10:51] Speaker 2: I had this dream. He actually got upset with me.
[10:53] Speaker 2: He was like, I'm on my way to work and
[10:54] Speaker 2: you just triggered me deeply, Like my dad, who hasn't
[10:57] Speaker 2: been in my life for years, like just hit me up,
[10:59] Speaker 2: and he he wants to come back into my life,
[11:01] Speaker 2: but I feel like he was never there, so why
[11:03] Speaker 2: would I. Other times, I'll dream. I dreamt that my
[11:06] Speaker 2: tattoo artist was having a baby. I actually predicted he
[11:09] Speaker 2: was gonna have a girl. I hit him up. I
[11:11] Speaker 2: woke up at three in the morning. I texted him
[11:13] Speaker 2: at three in the morning. I said, sorry to bother you.
[11:15] Speaker 2: I had a dream that I think is going to happen,
[11:18] Speaker 2: and I think you're gonna have a baby. He laughed.
[11:20] Speaker 2: He thought it was cute. Come to find out his
[11:24] Speaker 2: wife was actually pregnant, but they didn't know. They hadn't
[11:27] Speaker 2: taken any of the tests. But I guess that was
[11:30] Speaker 2: the week that they had conceived. So we did the math.
[11:33] Speaker 1: Oh my god.
[11:35] Speaker 2: So like things like that, like I'll know. So it's
[11:38] Speaker 2: dying conversations. And then the last one is if I
[11:42] Speaker 2: feel like something isn't me. So like last night I
[11:45] Speaker 2: dreamt that I was a woman and I was talking
[11:48] Speaker 2: about my sister and her husband. But my sister and
[11:51] Speaker 2: I were twins in this dream, and I started to
[11:54] Speaker 2: kind of ask like is it me? Like I kind
[11:58] Speaker 2: of go into like a little bit like is it
[11:59] Speaker 2: me when you? Or am I dipping into ghost realm?
[12:02] Speaker 2: Is this now somebody else, like spirit talking to me?
[12:05] Speaker 2: And so the dream last night I just heard quickly
[12:08] Speaker 2: it's it's like almost like it's not you, this is
[12:11] Speaker 2: somebody else talking to you. But then I get stuck.
[12:13] Speaker 2: I don't know where to take that. I don't know
[12:15] Speaker 2: where else to go with it. I'm like, thank you
[12:16] Speaker 2: for the conversation, like maybe they were passing by, or
[12:19] Speaker 2: maybe I picked up on some sort of energy or something,
[12:21] Speaker 2: or I won't but I know, like I can hear
[12:24] Speaker 2: different voices that I just know don't belong to me.
[12:27] Speaker 2: I have this other amazing one where I dream that
[12:30] Speaker 2: I'm a young black boy and I look at my
[12:33] Speaker 2: hands and I have like like black hands and I'm
[12:36] Speaker 2: a child and I can look up at my mom
[12:39] Speaker 2: and I am so like full of love for this
[12:43] Speaker 2: woman that is my mom. And she teaches me like
[12:46] Speaker 2: a lot of lessons, like she's a lot She's very like,
[12:49] Speaker 2: don't don't be afraid to do this. And there was
[12:51] Speaker 2: one dream where she was like, don't be afraid to
[12:53] Speaker 2: walk across like the I guess like whatever room we
[12:56] Speaker 2: were in or a street, and she like grabbed my
[12:59] Speaker 2: hand and she showed me like how to walk through
[13:01] Speaker 2: a crowd of people, like you got to have direction
[13:03] Speaker 2: and move. Another time, I was in this along with
[13:06] Speaker 2: her and I'm just looking at her in awe, but
[13:08] Speaker 2: I don't it's me, but it's not me, if that
[13:12] Speaker 2: makes sense.
[13:13] Speaker 1: Huh.
[13:14] Speaker 2: It's like I'm seeing the dream as if I'm wearing
[13:17] Speaker 2: like virtual reality glasses and I'm in this other world right,
[13:20] Speaker 2: but it's not curly, if that makes sense.
[13:24] Speaker 1: I'm so jealous. I haven't had a dream in fifteen years.
[13:28] Speaker 2: You do, though, that's the best part. I think that
[13:31] Speaker 2: Like if you're awake and you're thinking about it, and
[13:34] Speaker 2: you talk about it and you pray about it, wake
[13:36] Speaker 2: yourself up in the middle of the night, Like, send an alarm,
[13:39] Speaker 2: sit there with your eyes closed, turn it off. Sit
[13:42] Speaker 2: there with your arm with your eyes closed, Think about anything,
[13:44] Speaker 2: maybe where you just were or something. Force yourself to
[13:47] Speaker 2: wake up, record a voice note or journal it, and
[13:50] Speaker 2: you kind of start to build this practice of like
[13:52] Speaker 2: what your dreams are.
[13:55] Speaker 1: I have always had a theory that it's because I
[13:58] Speaker 1: am just very cheap minded and I don't have the
[14:02] Speaker 1: budget for these big productions. I mean, these dreams that
[14:07] Speaker 1: you're describing. They got a full choir of children. That's yeah,
[14:13] Speaker 1: pay each one of the children. They got to go,
[14:15] Speaker 1: they had to go schooling on set.
[14:16] Speaker 2: Oh, I love them.
[14:18] Speaker 1: Like that's a full production. And we don't have lighting money.
[14:23] Speaker 1: We don't have that. We don't have any of it
[14:26] Speaker 1: over here.
[14:27] Speaker 2: It's low budge, you know, like when you are falling
[14:33] Speaker 2: asleep or you're waking up. I call it the in between. Right,
[14:36] Speaker 2: So when you're falling asleep, do you when you think
[14:39] Speaker 2: about things? And you know, ADHD brains, like our minds
[14:43] Speaker 2: go everywhere. I don't know, I don't know if you
[14:44] Speaker 2: have ADHD, but my mind goes everywhere. But everything is
[14:47] Speaker 2: kind of still somewhat connected, right, Like I'll be like,
[14:50] Speaker 2: oh uh, oh, I really liked my sweater today. I
[14:55] Speaker 2: really enjoy the color, like navy blue. I should start
[14:57] Speaker 2: wearing more navy blue. Oh maybe if I were navy blue,
[14:59] Speaker 2: if I've run into so and so. But I can
[15:01] Speaker 2: still kind of connect my thought process.
[15:04] Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a through line.
[15:05] Speaker 2: There's a through line exactly. I feel like when there's
[15:08] Speaker 2: a glitch, like if I'm like, oh, I really love
[15:10] Speaker 2: navy blue elephants, I'm like, oh, I'm in. Like I'm
[15:13] Speaker 2: in and I can hear my breath change too. It's
[15:17] Speaker 2: a deep like like I'm in. I call it like
[15:20] Speaker 2: the in between or like the matrix or whatever. But
[15:24] Speaker 2: once you're there, start thinking about whatever, ask questions like
[15:29] Speaker 2: where so and so? What is this? What's so and
[15:31] Speaker 2: So's name? Like is you know? I don't know it
[15:35] Speaker 2: does so and so have a crush on me? Like
[15:37] Speaker 2: little things like that, oooh see it?
[15:40] Speaker 1: Because like I was convinced for a while that it
[15:42] Speaker 1: meant that I'm like a serial killer or something because
[15:45] Speaker 1: I don't dream, like, I don't know what it means,
[15:47] Speaker 1: but it doesn't feel like it's a good thing.
[15:49] Speaker 2: But are you a serial killer?
[15:50] Speaker 1: Not that I know see that would take commitment, and
[15:53] Speaker 1: I just don't think I could commit to the same thing.
[15:57] Speaker 2: But low key, wouldn't you be such a fabulous serial killer?
[16:00] Speaker 2: Not to make glight of like being a murderer, but
[16:02] Speaker 2: imagine you like being like, you know, the topic of
[16:05] Speaker 2: a Netflix documentary and it's all about ras and how
[16:08] Speaker 2: you did it and looking as fabulous as you do.
[16:11] Speaker 2: There'd be another Netflix show probably about you being a
[16:14] Speaker 2: serial killer.
[16:15] Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's like way too long, even though like
[16:18] Speaker 1: I only killed two people, but they somehow make it
[16:21] Speaker 1: eight hours. Yeah, I don't think. I don't think I
[16:27] Speaker 1: could be a serial color because I can't deal with
[16:29] Speaker 1: like the guilt of lying, or like I can't keep secrets.
[16:33] Speaker 2: Oh my god. I feel like I couldn't be a
[16:34] Speaker 2: serial killer because I'm the type of person who that
[16:36] Speaker 2: will like think about something that I said, Like did
[16:39] Speaker 2: I hurt their feelings with that thing that I said
[16:41] Speaker 2: last Tuesday as I was leaving work on my way out, Like.
[16:43] Speaker 1: Right, did I hurt their feelings when I murdered them?
[16:46] Speaker 2: Yes? Or you're hanging up with someone and you're like
[16:50] Speaker 2: shut up bye, and then you hang up, like, oh
[16:52] Speaker 2: my god, I can't believe I told them to shut up?
[16:53] Speaker 2: Why would I tell them to shut up? What's wrong
[16:55] Speaker 2: with me? Like?
[16:56] Speaker 1: Yeah, I can.
[16:57] Speaker 2: I can barely keep my thoughts in line when I'm
[16:59] Speaker 2: talking to somebody a little take out a life.
[17:01] Speaker 1: Yeah, that would be me. I'd be like, why did
[17:03] Speaker 1: I cut their head off? What is wrong with me?
[17:05] Speaker 2: Do you feel insects?
[17:07] Speaker 1: No? I don't. But anyway, I'm not a serial killer.
[17:11] Speaker 1: But I think what people have convinced me is that
[17:17] Speaker 1: I don't dream because I'm at peace. My brain gets
[17:22] Speaker 1: a break. But it's so hard to wake my ass
[17:26] Speaker 1: up because first of all, I never wake up in
[17:29] Speaker 1: like a like, I don't get awoken by dreams. I'm like, okay,
[17:35] Speaker 1: this is nice. Everyone's quiet, and I want it to
[17:39] Speaker 1: stay this way.
[17:40] Speaker 2: Can I ask you a question? Do you have like
[17:41] Speaker 2: an inner monologue?
[17:44] Speaker 1: Of course?
[17:45] Speaker 2: Oh? Okay, because some people don't have inner monologues.
[17:47] Speaker 1: Oh my god. Yeah, it's a full on audiobook podcast
[17:51] Speaker 1: over here at all times. Wait, let's go back to
[17:56] Speaker 1: your grandma stuff. So you find yourself talking to her
[18:00] Speaker 1: all the time? Are you getting signs of her?
[18:04] Speaker 2: Yeah? So, like one of the things was my grandma's
[18:06] Speaker 2: We were really tired, and I as a young kid,
[18:09] Speaker 2: in my entire life, I always used to tell her, Grandma,
[18:11] Speaker 2: when you pass over, I want you to flicker the lights. Okay,
[18:14] Speaker 2: that was our thing. And I would always quiz her
[18:17] Speaker 2: and I always go like, Grandma, what are you supposed
[18:19] Speaker 2: to do to night when you cross over? Flick of
[18:21] Speaker 2: the lights? What you're supposed to do when you cross over?
[18:22] Speaker 2: Flick of the lights. And you know, my grandma passed
[18:25] Speaker 2: away from dementia and Alzheimer's, and so the day she went, like,
[18:30] Speaker 2: I feel like even before she went, which is pretty
[18:32] Speaker 2: common with people who have family that have dementia or
[18:35] Speaker 2: friends or dealing with loved ones who have dementia, you'll
[18:38] Speaker 2: start to see, I'm getting the chills, by the way,
[18:40] Speaker 2: and that's another signal for me that it's accurate. You'll
[18:42] Speaker 2: start to see signals even before they have completely passed over,
[18:47] Speaker 2: like you'll feel them with you. You'll start to dream
[18:51] Speaker 2: with them already, like outside of their dementia. And my grandma,
[18:55] Speaker 2: one time I was talking to my dad and I
[18:58] Speaker 2: was telling I was like on the phone and just
[19:01] Speaker 2: telling him that you know how much I was hurting
[19:05] Speaker 2: from my grandma, you know, having dementia, and he was like,
[19:07] Speaker 2: the whole time you've been talking to me, this black
[19:10] Speaker 2: butterfly has been like flying all around me. And I
[19:13] Speaker 2: told him send me a video. I put the story
[19:15] Speaker 2: up on TikTok, and of course, love the Internet, people
[19:20] Speaker 2: started to leave comments about this particular butterfly and I
[19:23] Speaker 2: forgot what it was called. It has like a specific name.
[19:26] Speaker 2: But these butterflies are supposed to be signals that somebody
[19:29] Speaker 2: is about to pass like it is. It is absolutely
[19:33] Speaker 2: people from that community believe that this butterfly and our
[19:36] Speaker 2: I guess our community, like the death community or the
[19:38] Speaker 2: spiritual community, have a you know, a thing with this
[19:42] Speaker 2: particular butterfly, of being a warning about death essentially. So
[19:46] Speaker 2: when she actually passed away, I didn't feel like she
[19:50] Speaker 2: was gone. I felt like she was in the next room.
[19:53] Speaker 2: And I made a promise to her that I would
[19:55] Speaker 2: say her name out loud every single day, and I
[19:57] Speaker 2: still do. It's been over like a year now and
[19:59] Speaker 2: some all days and I still I say her name.
[20:01] Speaker 2: I have this spiritual belief that in the Bible they
[20:05] Speaker 2: talk about God. In the beginning, there was the Word,
[20:08] Speaker 2: and the word was with God. The word was God
[20:10] Speaker 2: and the word was with God. So I believe that
[20:12] Speaker 2: the word and voice and the vibration of your vocal
[20:14] Speaker 2: chords and sound and electricity can somehow bring life forward
[20:19] Speaker 2: in a lot of different ways. Right Like, if I
[20:22] Speaker 2: still have the life and the movement to say her name,
[20:24] Speaker 2: I somehow can breathe life into her. I say, I
[20:26] Speaker 2: can shake death off of her for just the moment,
[20:30] Speaker 2: So I say her name out loud. And the day
[20:33] Speaker 2: that I buried her, I went to my ex boyfriend's house,
[20:37] Speaker 2: my partner at the time, and I was sitting in
[20:40] Speaker 2: the living room. We were sitting in the living room,
[20:41] Speaker 2: we both kind of He had fallen asleep on the
[20:44] Speaker 2: couch next to me, and the lights were off, and
[20:48] Speaker 2: the electricity made this like weird like power like surge
[20:50] Speaker 2: noise like a almost like ah, and they started to
[20:54] Speaker 2: like flicker, And I was like, that's that's got to
[20:58] Speaker 2: be something here in the apartment. That's got to be
[21:00] Speaker 2: something that happens. But it would happen frequently when I
[21:04] Speaker 2: was there at his place, and I would ask him,
[21:07] Speaker 2: and I would ask like his roommate, like does this
[21:09] Speaker 2: happen a lot? They're like, no, that's new, and that
[21:12] Speaker 2: only happens when you're here, and so I'm like, Okay,
[21:15] Speaker 2: that's cool, Like it's fine. Maybe it's just a coincidence.
[21:19] Speaker 2: Right then, anywhere that I go, if I see a
[21:21] Speaker 2: flickering light, I always think it's my grandma. And recently
[21:26] Speaker 2: I was talking to a medium on another podcast and
[21:30] Speaker 2: I was talking to her about my grandma. I hadn't
[21:33] Speaker 2: mentioned the flickering lights at all to her, and I
[21:36] Speaker 2: started to ask her basically about that relationship that I
[21:41] Speaker 2: was in, because it was actually kind of a toxic
[21:44] Speaker 2: one for me, right spiritually, physically, like it just took
[21:47] Speaker 2: a toll on me. The question was, was my Grandma
[21:50] Speaker 2: there with me while I was in this toxic relationship?
[21:54] Speaker 2: And you know, I'm trying to fight a little bit
[21:58] Speaker 2: of an emotion. But I was at my parents' house
[22:01] Speaker 2: at that time, and the lights did the same thing
[22:05] Speaker 2: where they kind of had like a surge kind of
[22:08] Speaker 2: a noise and they started to flicker, and my internet
[22:12] Speaker 2: went out and the call dropped, and that was my
[22:15] Speaker 2: last question. The medium was like, what's your final question
[22:17] Speaker 2: that I can answer for you? And that was my
[22:19] Speaker 2: last question. And I felt very much like, oh yeah,
[22:22] Speaker 2: that's got to be something that's got to be I
[22:25] Speaker 2: texted my ex's roommate and I was like, Hey, sorry
[22:29] Speaker 2: to bother you, but do you remember when this used
[22:31] Speaker 2: to happen? And she was like, that actually stopped happening
[22:35] Speaker 2: once you guys like broke up, once you were gone,
[22:37] Speaker 2: that never happened again.
[22:38] Speaker 1: Weird.
[22:40] Speaker 2: It felt like a signal to me that my grandma
[22:44] Speaker 2: was like I was there, because that's when it would
[22:46] Speaker 2: happen when I would be with him, And it almost
[22:49] Speaker 2: felt like her being like and here I am again
[22:51] Speaker 2: to validate that I was there. Oh, I'm like really
[22:55] Speaker 2: fighting like tears now, like just kind of thinking that
[23:00] Speaker 2: they are there with you. They will give you signals
[23:03] Speaker 2: if you ask for them, if you believe that they
[23:07] Speaker 2: have the power, if you believe if you give them
[23:11] Speaker 2: that kind of space and energy in your mind to
[23:14] Speaker 2: be like, I know you're there, You're just in the
[23:16] Speaker 2: next room. I know you can hear me, I know
[23:18] Speaker 2: you can feel me, you know. And I came back
[23:21] Speaker 2: on by the way, and the medium was like that's
[23:23] Speaker 2: so crazy. I'm like, you know, yeah, it happened. I
[23:27] Speaker 2: don't want to like, I don't want to like over
[23:31] Speaker 2: not compensate, but I don't want to give it more
[23:33] Speaker 2: meaning than maybe it was, but it's what happened, right,
[23:35] Speaker 2: And she was like, by the way, when you got disconnected,
[23:39] Speaker 2: I did hear your grandma say that she was there.
[23:41] Speaker 2: And she also the medium also read me a little bit.
[23:44] Speaker 2: She's like, you know, you stayed there longer than you
[23:46] Speaker 2: should have because you thought that he was handsome and cute,
[23:50] Speaker 2: like you stayed there based on books. And I was
[23:52] Speaker 2: like not getting read by like my grandma on this medium.
[23:57] Speaker 2: But you know, since then, since all my Grandma' stuff,
[24:00] Speaker 2: like it's been really anytime I see a signal from her,
[24:02] Speaker 2: it's my thing is always like flickering lights, like always
[24:05] Speaker 2: like thank you for being with me. And she gives
[24:08] Speaker 2: me other signals too. People ros people come up to
[24:10] Speaker 2: me all the time, Like I went to the White
[24:12] Speaker 2: House and somebody at the White House was like, I
[24:15] Speaker 2: love your grandma so much. You know, I'll be at
[24:17] Speaker 2: a bar, people will come up to me random and like,
[24:19] Speaker 2: I love your grandma. Restaurants, whenever I'm scared or feeling
[24:23] Speaker 2: some sort of way, people will always come up to
[24:25] Speaker 2: me and go, oh, I love your grandma. You know.
[24:27] Speaker 2: For those who don't know, like I actually started to
[24:29] Speaker 2: post a lot of videos of our relationship before her dementia,
[24:33] Speaker 2: and people fell in love with her because she was
[24:34] Speaker 2: rowdy and crass.
[24:36] Speaker 1: Yeah, i'd loved her too.
[24:38] Speaker 2: Yeah, And people like really loved her even in her dementia.
[24:41] Speaker 2: And so when people come up to me at random
[24:43] Speaker 2: restaurants or wherever and they're like, hey, I just want
[24:46] Speaker 2: to say that I love your grandma so much, I
[24:48] Speaker 2: still feel like that's her. I still feel like, you know,
[24:51] Speaker 2: Maya Angelo has this beautiful poem called like Love Liberates,
[24:54] Speaker 2: and she's like, I'd love to have you near me.
[24:56] Speaker 2: I'd love to have your voice in my ear, but
[24:59] Speaker 2: I know that that kind of happen now. And I
[25:01] Speaker 2: feel like that's very much like my grandma. Like I
[25:03] Speaker 2: feel like I'd love to be close to you, but
[25:05] Speaker 2: that can happen. But for now, I love you, and
[25:07] Speaker 2: I'm I'm here all around you. You know.
[25:10] Speaker 1: I keep thinking that the light behind you is flickering.
[25:13] Speaker 1: I think it's just like a jet, Like the camera
[25:17] Speaker 1: is like adjusting every time.
[25:18] Speaker 2: Oh I see yeah, when I move, yeah, yeah, when
[25:20] Speaker 2: I move yeah.
[25:21] Speaker 1: But in my mind is flickering.
[25:24] Speaker 2: Yeah, it's flickering every time it's like a just bee.
[25:27] Speaker 1: Yeah, this is all so beautiful.
[25:32] Speaker 2: I will say too us like when people pass over,
[25:34] Speaker 2: if you keep talking to them and you keep them
[25:36] Speaker 2: in your daily like, I'm sure it's inevitable that you'll
[25:39] Speaker 2: dream about them. And so I still dream about her
[25:42] Speaker 2: all the time, you know, I'll dream that she's like
[25:45] Speaker 2: there with me and chilling. And sometimes she's a little
[25:48] Speaker 2: bit older. Sometimes she's a little bit younger. U. Sometimes
[25:51] Speaker 2: I'm like, what do you what are you doing here?
[25:54] Speaker 2: And she's like, I'm here with my friends like back up,
[25:57] Speaker 2: you know, and I'm like you should be in bed,
[25:59] Speaker 2: like who you ow? Who's taking care of you?
[26:02] Speaker 1: That's so cute, Like her and her girls are like,
[26:04] Speaker 1: oh and you know, be fun. Let's go on, yeah
[26:06] Speaker 1: to Curly's dreams.
[26:08] Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, like let's just go hang out. I feel
[26:11] Speaker 2: the difference between her when she visits me and then
[26:15] Speaker 2: when I feel like spirits talking to me, Like when
[26:17] Speaker 2: I feel like, oh, this is a ghost talking to
[26:19] Speaker 2: me about something that I can't I don't know how
[26:21] Speaker 2: to help.
[26:22] Speaker 1: I need to get on the list for your dreams.
[26:24] Speaker 1: I want to hear a prediction, you.
[26:27] Speaker 2: Know what I started doing and then I stopped, and
[26:29] Speaker 2: I'm now I'm kind of like worried about doing it again.
[26:31] Speaker 2: But I started doing what is it called when you
[26:34] Speaker 2: do like writing?
[26:35] Speaker 1: Automatic writing?
[26:36] Speaker 2: Oh? Automatic writing? Yeah. I started doing automatic writing for
[26:39] Speaker 2: a friend and I predicted like a whole bunch of
[26:43] Speaker 2: stuff for her. Like I was just like, this is
[26:45] Speaker 2: what I see your partner going. I see them dating
[26:47] Speaker 2: this individual, I see travel for them. I see like
[26:51] Speaker 2: different financial things.
[26:52] Speaker 1: When you're awake, you can do this.
[26:54] Speaker 2: When I'm awake, I go. I try to go in
[26:56] Speaker 2: the in between, So I'll sit at my table, I
[26:58] Speaker 2: put my head down, I try to fall sleep a
[27:00] Speaker 2: little bit, and I asked my questions and then I'll
[27:03] Speaker 2: come out. But it scares me to do it because
[27:06] Speaker 2: I feel like I don't want to say things to
[27:08] Speaker 2: somebody that I feel like might like inspire, I guess,
[27:12] Speaker 2: or like not inspire, but kind of like make them
[27:14] Speaker 2: go a different way, right, If that's not what's the truth.
[27:17] Speaker 1: That is the tough thing with prediction. Yeah, you know
[27:22] Speaker 1: it can influence people's decisions exactly.
[27:25] Speaker 2: I mean. I had a psychic tell me years ago
[27:27] Speaker 2: when I was twenty two. She was like, you're going
[27:29] Speaker 2: to meet a Capricorn. In every Capricorn that I met,
[27:31] Speaker 2: I was like, are you the one? Are you the one?
[27:32] Speaker 2: Are you the one? And like for years I was like,
[27:35] Speaker 2: oh my god, this is it. And I'm like now
[27:38] Speaker 2: I'm older and I'm like, I'm not fucking dating a Capricorn.
[27:40] Speaker 2: Yeah right. I love myself too much, you know I would.
[27:42] Speaker 2: I would never shout out to the capricorns listening.
[27:49] Speaker 1: Wait, okay, so can you do it right now?
[27:53] Speaker 2: Do it right now? Yeah, you know what. I will totally.
[27:59] Speaker 2: Why don't I do it for you? Like one of
[28:00] Speaker 2: these nights. I usually do it at night. I light
[28:03] Speaker 2: all my candles. I ask both my grandmothers to come
[28:05] Speaker 2: and help me. It's kind of like a little bit
[28:07] Speaker 2: of like a ceremony. When I go in the in between,
[28:10] Speaker 2: I kind of pretend like I'm wearing let's say you
[28:13] Speaker 2: want a reading on like an X or something. I
[28:16] Speaker 2: go in and I wear your ex like a costume almost.
[28:20] Speaker 2: So I'll look at my hands and I see their hands.
[28:23] Speaker 2: I picture like what would I feel like if I
[28:25] Speaker 2: had their face, their hair, their body? How would I sit?
[28:29] Speaker 2: How would I stand? And then I go, what am
[28:32] Speaker 2: I thinking? What's what is my movement. What's happening with me?
[28:35] Speaker 1: Oh my god?
[28:36] Speaker 2: And so then I can start writing according to that way.
[28:40] Speaker 2: I mean, I told my girlfriend, I was like, I
[28:41] Speaker 2: see travel I'm like, I see you traveling. She had
[28:44] Speaker 2: just gotten a new job and like, the job is
[28:45] Speaker 2: going to send you somewhere with a swamp. I don't
[28:48] Speaker 2: know why I see a swamp. And her first trip
[28:52] Speaker 2: out with that job was she sayed in something called
[28:54] Speaker 2: like swamp land, and she was like, it's so wild
[28:58] Speaker 2: that exactly what you were describing day is what I'm
[29:00] Speaker 2: seeing now. I do want to practice it more. My
[29:06] Speaker 2: best friend, who I'm sitting next to, she's also like
[29:08] Speaker 2: super psychic. She's more psychic where like you can ask
[29:12] Speaker 2: her something and she'll kind of just feel it. She
[29:15] Speaker 2: can feel more like intuition and she'll dream it too.
[29:20] Speaker 2: And then my dad, by the way, who has to
[29:22] Speaker 2: My dad has the worst, one of the worst cases
[29:26] Speaker 2: I think of ADHD that I've seen where he blurts
[29:28] Speaker 2: things out as you're talking. He won't let you finish
[29:31] Speaker 2: a sentence. But lately I've been like, oh my god,
[29:35] Speaker 2: I think you're predicting shit. Years ago, I ran into
[29:38] Speaker 2: this guy and I was like, oh yeah, that guy
[29:41] Speaker 2: was this is that guy's name. Like I had a
[29:44] Speaker 2: crush on him, but you know, he didn't like me back,
[29:47] Speaker 2: and he was like, he likes you, you guys, that's
[29:49] Speaker 2: something there. He likes you. And I'm like, what you
[29:52] Speaker 2: tripping down? You're just saying that because you're my dad.
[29:53] Speaker 2: That ended up being my boyfriend for like three years
[29:56] Speaker 2: literally like a little bit after that visit. So just
[30:00] Speaker 2: blurted something out the other day about another ex and
[30:02] Speaker 2: I was like, Okay, I believe it, Like it's true.
[30:04] Speaker 1: Did your grandma have this gift?
[30:06] Speaker 2: My grandma didn't necessarily talk about being psychic, but she
[30:10] Speaker 2: did practice bluheia. That's something that she also passed down
[30:14] Speaker 2: to me in a little bit. In ways, Actually, we
[30:17] Speaker 2: all practice some sort of magic. I feel like a
[30:20] Speaker 2: lot of Latinos, a lot of people of color from
[30:22] Speaker 2: different cultures practice their own forms of magic without calling
[30:26] Speaker 2: it magic, right, Like you know, for us, it's like
[30:30] Speaker 2: don't put your purse on the ground, right because you'll
[30:33] Speaker 2: welcome and it's superstition, right.
[30:35] Speaker 1: A lot of superstition, like because you'll.
[30:37] Speaker 2: Welcome bad spirits or you'll lose money if you want
[30:41] Speaker 2: to like In my family, we practice like candle magic,
[30:45] Speaker 2: so like if we want something, we'll light a certain
[30:48] Speaker 2: type of color of candle. White candles are always for
[30:52] Speaker 2: protection or when somebody passes away, or we have a
[30:55] Speaker 2: prayer and intention, we always light a white candle. My
[30:58] Speaker 2: mom's mom gave her a spell for when she believed
[31:02] Speaker 2: that my sister got sick with something. My mom had
[31:05] Speaker 2: to go around and collect trash from all around La
[31:09] Speaker 2: and then bring it home. And this was in the eighties,
[31:12] Speaker 2: and she had to like burn it. She had to
[31:14] Speaker 2: put a little bit of that smoke like over over
[31:18] Speaker 2: my sister and it was supposed to kind of heal
[31:22] Speaker 2: whatever curse or whatever my vision or evil spell was
[31:27] Speaker 2: put on her. So you know, little things like that.
[31:30] Speaker 2: So my grandma wasn'ts like it. But you know, when
[31:32] Speaker 2: she passed, we found like letters like almost like little
[31:35] Speaker 2: curses and spell she put on ex husbands. We thought
[31:38] Speaker 2: all her oils, her oils are like run Satan run
[31:42] Speaker 2: or like binding people to her, you know, just different
[31:45] Speaker 2: things that she just kind of There's a spirit called
[31:48] Speaker 2: San Simon. He's a Guatemalan spirit. Were Salvadorian, so we're neighbors.
[31:52] Speaker 2: The way that you praise San Simon is to give
[31:55] Speaker 2: him alcohol, cigarettes, and porn. And yeah, my grandma's going
[32:00] Speaker 2: to tell me about him. My grandma was like, yeah,
[32:02] Speaker 2: you know, he gives you what you want if you
[32:04] Speaker 2: want to work with him, work with him, but just
[32:05] Speaker 2: know that he's also a very jealous spirit, so he
[32:08] Speaker 2: doesn't do well with you. You have to work with
[32:12] Speaker 2: the spirit only.
[32:13] Speaker 1: Okay, so things like that way, but he wants porn, alcohol,
[32:18] Speaker 1: and cigarettes.
[32:19] Speaker 2: Yeah. So he's actually based on like an indigenous spirit.
[32:22] Speaker 2: And the story of him is that he basically was
[32:27] Speaker 2: just a bad boy, like sounds like it. Yeah, he
[32:30] Speaker 2: would steal your girlfriend, like when the men would leave
[32:33] Speaker 2: the village, he would sleep with the wives like sam.
[32:36] Speaker 2: But he was still loved and adored and just highly
[32:41] Speaker 2: revered and so like he is kind of one of
[32:45] Speaker 2: those spirits that a lot of people who wanted to
[32:48] Speaker 2: practice like mischievous stuff, I think would pray too.
[32:51] Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm looking this up right now.
[32:53] Speaker 2: I'm yeah, Son Simon obsessed. There's a really beautiful botanica
[32:58] Speaker 2: on Pico in La called Templo the San Simon. It is.
[33:04] Speaker 2: I just got the chills again. I have to warn you,
[33:06] Speaker 2: like this is not like House of Intuition. This isn't
[33:08] Speaker 2: like somewhere cute where you go and you buy like
[33:10] Speaker 2: your blueheta ya stuff. This is a real like the
[33:14] Speaker 2: minute you walk in, the air is heavy. You leave
[33:18] Speaker 2: feeling haunted, like, yeah, he has this beautiful uh kind
[33:23] Speaker 2: of like chapel to the side with the massive statue
[33:25] Speaker 2: of San Simon and people come in like candles. There's
[33:28] Speaker 2: cigarettes all over him. There's like porn magazines, shots of alcohol,
[33:33] Speaker 2: and then next door is like to him is like
[33:35] Speaker 2: La Moue and Lamueta is another spirit that a lot
[33:37] Speaker 2: of people work with to kind of make things happen.
[33:40] Speaker 1: You know, Oh my god, I want to go.
[33:44] Speaker 2: You should go.
[33:45] Speaker 1: I haven't been to like a real like Botanica in
[33:51] Speaker 1: a minute.
[33:52] Speaker 2: Yeah you should go.
[33:53] Speaker 1: I feel like, yeah, I do go to nowadays. A
[33:55] Speaker 1: lot of these just like they're very light and candles
[33:59] Speaker 1: and they're good energy. Yeah, I want some lady back
[34:02] Speaker 1: there like with one eye, just like, yeah, it looks
[34:07] Speaker 1: like she's eight hundred years old.
[34:10] Speaker 2: Like he definitely has that, and he works with both spirits.
[34:13] Speaker 2: So a lot of times people work with the light
[34:15] Speaker 2: and the darkness to make things happen and so he's
[34:19] Speaker 2: I believe that he's one of those not to put
[34:20] Speaker 2: anything on him, but I believe that he's one of
[34:22] Speaker 2: those that will work with both to help make your
[34:25] Speaker 2: intentions happen.
[34:26] Speaker 1: God.
[34:27] Speaker 2: So I actually feel like that's why I'm also in
[34:30] Speaker 2: tune with a lot of different things in terms of spirit,
[34:32] Speaker 2: because I feel like I'm good enough to be protected
[34:36] Speaker 2: and loved, but I feel I feel a little mischievous,
[34:39] Speaker 2: and so I feel like a lot of the mischievous
[34:40] Speaker 2: spirits are like like him. He's giving like cheshire cat vibes.
[34:44] Speaker 2: You know, he gives a little bit like will he
[34:47] Speaker 2: lead Alice down the right path? Or will he lead
[34:50] Speaker 2: her to her like her death to like the Queen
[34:52] Speaker 2: of hearts?
[34:53] Speaker 1: You know, are you tell me more about your superstitions.
[34:56] Speaker 1: I'm so into that in terms of like, are you
[35:00] Speaker 1: a big believer in like the evil Eye?
[35:04] Speaker 2: So funnily enough, I would say that I'm not necessarily
[35:08] Speaker 2: superstitious when it comes to evil stuff, like I actually
[35:12] Speaker 2: feel when someone's like, oh, be careful, you're gonna get
[35:14] Speaker 2: the evil eye, or be careful someone's gonna put a
[35:16] Speaker 2: spell on you. I'm very big on number one. I
[35:19] Speaker 2: believe in the great source that connects us, all the
[35:22] Speaker 2: energy that loves us. I believe in God. I believe that,
[35:25] Speaker 2: like we are all manifestations of the Creator, and we
[35:29] Speaker 2: are all kind of children of God, right and so
[35:33] Speaker 2: I feel very much like that energy loves each and
[35:36] Speaker 2: every one of us so fucking much because we are
[35:39] Speaker 2: a part of it. That me being sending something to
[35:42] Speaker 2: you is essentially coming back to me, right like, And
[35:45] Speaker 2: so I feel like this energy will protect me because
[35:48] Speaker 2: it's already a part of me. I'm a part of it.
[35:51] Speaker 2: The other part of it is like both of my
[35:52] Speaker 2: grandmothers have passed. Like, if you know any Latina, any Ala,
[35:57] Speaker 2: any like woman of color, any woman who loves their
[36:00] Speaker 2: child and their grandbabies, you know that women will fucking
[36:04] Speaker 2: slice anybody who fucks with their kids, you know that, right?
[36:07] Speaker 2: So like, yeah, for me, the idea that my boy
[36:09] Speaker 2: lass I have fias on the other side, primas I
[36:12] Speaker 2: have girlies on the other side. I know that my
[36:15] Speaker 2: girls in life and in death would slice anybody who
[36:18] Speaker 2: would fuck with me. I just feel and I have
[36:20] Speaker 2: my pipple who just passed away, please.
[36:22] Speaker 1: Oh please, I have a literal.
[36:25] Speaker 2: Pipple on the other side. Like, so I just for me.
[36:27] Speaker 2: I don't have any time for like bad luck. I'm like,
[36:30] Speaker 2: have you read the news, have you seen like my
[36:33] Speaker 2: toxic glass relationship? Like I'm not worried about I'm not
[36:36] Speaker 2: worried about somebody sending me my dove. How I'm worried
[36:39] Speaker 2: about my fucking like ex boyfriend hitting me up or something.
[36:41] Speaker 1: You know, Like, yeah, I feel that way too. I
[36:44] Speaker 1: feel protected, which makes me a little cocky. And I
[36:48] Speaker 1: also feel so convinced that good always overpowers evil. And
[36:55] Speaker 1: I feel just like with the living, like if people
[37:00] Speaker 1: are rude to me or like trying to tear me
[37:03] Speaker 1: down or whatever, I'm like, yeah, I'm not going to
[37:07] Speaker 1: let them win. I mean, even if they don't realize
[37:10] Speaker 1: that they didn't win because they didn't affect me or whatever.
[37:13] Speaker 1: And so that's why when you see like these clips
[37:16] Speaker 1: of me with ghosts, I'm like, you know, some people
[37:19] Speaker 1: will be like the ghost is gonna possess you or whatever,
[37:22] Speaker 1: and I'm like, bitch.
[37:23] Speaker 2: Not me. Yeah that's how I feel.
[37:26] Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm not gonna let it. Something invisible is not
[37:29] Speaker 1: more powerful than the good energy that I have around me,
[37:34] Speaker 1: that like this negative thing is going to just like
[37:38] Speaker 1: it's not gonna be able to get through absolutely.
[37:41] Speaker 2: The other thing I feel, too, is like one of
[37:42] Speaker 2: the things that I always say is that my Grandma
[37:44] Speaker 2: blessed me with her elder Latina magic. But I feel
[37:49] Speaker 2: I also believe in like the ancient queer magic that
[37:53] Speaker 2: I hold in my own blood right, Like, I really
[37:56] Speaker 2: I believe that queerness comes out to heal a lot
[37:59] Speaker 2: of times, like a lineage or queerness to me is
[38:02] Speaker 2: you know, an elevation of the mind and the spirit.
[38:07] Speaker 2: So I also feel like in terms of spirit world,
[38:10] Speaker 2: I'm like, no, I think that my queer magic also
[38:13] Speaker 2: would just protect me in a lot of ways, like uh.
[38:15] Speaker 1: Huh, you know, get that gay bitch slap exactly.
[38:19] Speaker 2: I'm just I'm also just kind of like imagine that
[38:20] Speaker 2: ghost coming into my room being like and I'm taking
[38:23] Speaker 2: it in the ass or giving giving somebody asks and
[38:25] Speaker 2: they're just like, not here, I'm gonna go. I'll go
[38:28] Speaker 2: next door. You put it where. No, I'm out of here.
[38:33] Speaker 2: I'm not doing none of that.
[38:36] Speaker 1: I do think, like I was just I had someone
[38:40] Speaker 1: over the other day and people are always like, is
[38:44] Speaker 1: this place haunted? Because like I'm always like dealing with
[38:47] Speaker 1: ghosts and I'm like, they're not coming in here, Like
[38:50] Speaker 1: I feel like this is the this is like the
[38:52] Speaker 1: least welcoming place for some kind of bad energy. And
[38:56] Speaker 1: I do think that there's probably ghosts that try to
[39:00] Speaker 1: creep up and they're like, Okay, this bitch is whack,
[39:03] Speaker 1: Like we don't want to be around here. Yeah, that's
[39:05] Speaker 1: what I think we're gonna end up on our podcast.
[39:08] Speaker 2: Yeah. I always think the spirit is gonna like one
[39:11] Speaker 2: of the spirits are gonna come in and be like
[39:13] Speaker 2: this fool is jacking off for the eighth time today.
[39:15] Speaker 2: He's not doing a damn thing. See.
[39:20] Speaker 1: Now that brings up like we've talked on this show
[39:23] Speaker 1: before about our you know, spiritual protectors and our ancestors
[39:29] Speaker 1: and all of that, and it's like do they clock
[39:31] Speaker 1: out in those time periods?
[39:34] Speaker 2: Huh?
[39:35] Speaker 1: Are they like Okay, I'm gonna protect you, but like
[39:37] Speaker 1: we're gonna just like we're gonna take five, We're gonna
[39:40] Speaker 1: we're gonna leave and let you do your little dirty
[39:44] Speaker 1: little things.
[39:45] Speaker 2: Yeah. Have you talked for talk to aj Berrera the medium? No?
[39:49] Speaker 2: Oh my god, you have to have a J Berrera
[39:51] Speaker 2: on your show, like he is his gift is so
[39:54] Speaker 2: strong and so amazing. Maya and I've had like a
[39:58] Speaker 2: lot of interviews with him, We've done videos with him.
[40:00] Speaker 2: We always get like technological what do they call it,
[40:03] Speaker 2: Like technology malfunction? It malfunctions. Yeah, something will always happen.
[40:10] Speaker 2: A light will go out, the batteries will drain. Like
[40:14] Speaker 2: He's incredible. And I've actually asked him, like does spirit
[40:17] Speaker 2: hang with you when you're engaging sexually or like if
[40:20] Speaker 2: you're in the shower or you're pooping or whatever. And
[40:22] Speaker 2: He's like, no, spirit will like walk away and give
[40:24] Speaker 2: you like your privacy, like they'll give you a little
[40:26] Speaker 2: moment to yourself, so they're not with you when you're
[40:28] Speaker 2: like dropping a deuce, you know. But then again, like
[40:32] Speaker 2: you know, I'm tapers where I'm like I'll sitting on
[40:34] Speaker 2: the toilet while you're in the shower, like I don't care.
[40:36] Speaker 2: So I feel like I would be that kind of ghost.
[40:38] Speaker 2: I will be there in the shower with you. I
[40:39] Speaker 2: will be there while you're dropping a deuce, and I
[40:41] Speaker 2: might sit on the bed while you're getting laid. I'll
[40:43] Speaker 2: be like cheering you on.
[40:45] Speaker 1: See. I was thinking about the kind of ghost I
[40:47] Speaker 1: would be when you were talking about the lights flickering
[40:49] Speaker 1: and all that, because I don't know how to control anything.
[40:51] Speaker 1: I don't know electronics. I don't know how to do anything.
[40:55] Speaker 1: So I feel like if someone was like, make sure
[40:57] Speaker 1: you play with my electronics when you pass, like, I
[41:01] Speaker 1: feel like I'd be dead and I'd be like, oh
[41:02] Speaker 1: my god, I don't I no clue what to do.
[41:06] Speaker 1: I don't know what. I don't know how to do.
[41:08] Speaker 2: Real You're like, I don't know how to use this
[41:10] Speaker 2: light switch? What is this thing? Like? Where's this remote control?
[41:12] Speaker 2: How do I turn this on?
[41:13] Speaker 1: Yeah? Like I could turn it on or off or
[41:15] Speaker 1: I could smash it, but like I don't know how
[41:18] Speaker 1: to like make it flicker, Like yeah, yoh, what I
[41:21] Speaker 1: would have to do?
[41:22] Speaker 2: I feel like with me, I would probably communicate with
[41:25] Speaker 2: music and song Like I feel like I would make
[41:28] Speaker 2: things like I would play a song that you would go,
[41:30] Speaker 2: oh shit, I remember that he used to sing that, or.
[41:33] Speaker 1: A DJ, A ghost DJ, A ghost DJ exactly.
[41:37] Speaker 2: I feel like that'd be my vibe. Like I'd be
[41:39] Speaker 2: like playing music or you hear you start singing a
[41:42] Speaker 2: song randomly and I'd be like, oh, yeah, that's me
[41:44] Speaker 2: for sure.
[41:45] Speaker 1: Well, Curly, this is not at all where I thought
[41:47] Speaker 1: this podcast was going to go. I'm very happy about it, though,
[41:54] Speaker 1: because I did prepare a bunch of stuff for us
[41:56] Speaker 1: to do, but we don't necessarily have time for all that.
[42:02] Speaker 1: I think we should just jump on over to listening
[42:06] Speaker 1: to some ghost voices.
[42:08] Speaker 2: Let's do it.
[42:08] Speaker 1: Okay, it's time for EVP or e EV please. So
[42:19] Speaker 1: you've been on this podcast three times, you've done this before.
[42:22] Speaker 1: But for anyone that's new here, what I do is
[42:25] Speaker 1: I go to YouTube or sometimes TikTok wherever, and I
[42:29] Speaker 1: find people's alleged recordings of ghosts speaking, and I will
[42:33] Speaker 1: play two of them, and I want you, Curly, to
[42:36] Speaker 1: tell me what you hear, and then I'll give you
[42:37] Speaker 1: some options. One of the options is the right answer
[42:41] Speaker 1: that the ghost hunter believes they've captured.
[42:45] Speaker 2: Okay, I'm terrible at these. By the way, I barely
[42:47] Speaker 2: understand Ariana Grande where she sings, let alone a ghosts. Well.
[42:51] Speaker 1: Usually these are terrible too, So okay, I try to
[42:56] Speaker 1: get the best ones I can find. This first one
[42:59] Speaker 1: is from Florida Ghost Patrol, which is a great name.
[43:04] Speaker 1: I'm obsessed Florida Ghost Patrol and it's at some cemetery,
[43:10] Speaker 1: an old eighteen hundred cemetery. Okay, what is this ghost saying?
[43:20] Speaker 2: Do it again? He said? He said, I'm dropping their
[43:27] Speaker 2: little deuce.
[43:33] Speaker 1: I mean, honestly, it could be or.
[43:37] Speaker 2: He's like, I'm something something, dude.
[43:40] Speaker 1: Yeah, it's definitely a yeah for sure. Well that's not
[43:45] Speaker 1: what the Florida Ghost Patrol thought it said. Was it
[43:49] Speaker 1: A pink tie would be cute on you? Uh? Huh
[43:55] Speaker 1: b I've been talking to you. See I think I'm
[44:02] Speaker 1: into you or d I think I need to pooh?
[44:08] Speaker 1: Literally what I said, I mean, that's very close to
[44:11] Speaker 1: what you said.
[44:12] Speaker 2: Can I hear it again?
[44:13] Speaker 1: Of course.
[44:17] Speaker 2: I want to say. It's probably I've been talking to you.
[44:20] Speaker 1: That is what they believe it said. And I yeah, here,
[44:25] Speaker 1: let me plead it again. Okay, yeah, I've been talking
[44:31] Speaker 1: to you.
[44:32] Speaker 2: I'd be like, well, I need you to speak clearly, sir,
[44:34] Speaker 2: because I'm having a little trouble.
[44:36] Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, maybe they were talking to you while
[44:38] Speaker 1: they were pooping. I don't know. Here's another one. This
[44:41] Speaker 1: one is from TikTok and it was posted by Spirit
[44:45] Speaker 1: Sessions Official, and it's at a place called Asylum forty
[44:49] Speaker 1: nine in two Utah, what is it saying, Curly? By last,
[45:03] Speaker 1: This one's rough. Okay, let's try it again.
[45:08] Speaker 2: Oh my god, that's Can you do that one more time?
[45:11] Speaker 2: I'm sorry. Yeah, that sounded like nothing except for like
[45:18] Speaker 2: somebody moving their shower curtain aside in the shower.
[45:21] Speaker 1: Well, did they think it was a wait, come on,
[45:25] Speaker 1: come back, b welcome to my nightmare? See bring them
[45:32] Speaker 1: to me? Or d work girl, get that cash?
[45:38] Speaker 2: Can we try one more time? Oh? It does sound
[45:44] Speaker 2: like bring them to me a little bit, but I
[45:46] Speaker 2: also just I don't know. I'm also very big on
[45:49] Speaker 2: being like, I'm going to stand by what I heard.
[45:51] Speaker 2: And I heard a shower curtain being moved, so.
[45:54] Speaker 1: They do believe it was bring them to me? Like,
[45:56] Speaker 1: let me bring this again. Yeah, I hear it while
[46:02] Speaker 1: a shower curtain is being pulled back.
[46:04] Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like bring to me.
[46:10] Speaker 1: Well, Curly, you really gave us the goods.
[46:14] Speaker 2: Thanks, Babs. I appreciate you so much for having me
[46:16] Speaker 2: And this is stuff that I love talking about and
[46:18] Speaker 2: I can go on forever and never never, like it's
[46:20] Speaker 2: just for me, whether it's spirit or ghost. What's really
[46:23] Speaker 2: nice is the understanding that maybe it doesn't end when
[46:26] Speaker 2: we think it ends, and I think that's the best part.
[46:28] Speaker 2: I think that's why it's not so scary, because you're like, oh, cool,
[46:32] Speaker 2: Like maybe there is something waiting for us on the
[46:34] Speaker 2: other side. And if it's not somewhere in the clouds
[46:37] Speaker 2: at the heart, maybe it's in someone's shower where I'm
[46:40] Speaker 2: just gonna like swing the curtains back and forth and
[46:42] Speaker 2: be like bring them to me.
[46:47] Speaker 1: You're doing. What is this PBS show you're doing? It's
[46:50] Speaker 1: about death.
[46:51] Speaker 2: Yeah, so the PBS show. We finished shooting it. It
[46:54] Speaker 2: was one season last year. It's called Dead and Buried.
[46:57] Speaker 2: Definitely check it out on uh pbs dot com and
[47:01] Speaker 2: on their social media platforms. Basically, we explore different aspects
[47:06] Speaker 2: of death, like creating AI for dead loved one or
[47:11] Speaker 2: what kind of burials people prefer, or even like small
[47:15] Speaker 2: little rituals that we do, like the rip T shirts
[47:18] Speaker 2: that people wear when somebody passes away, different things like that,
[47:23] Speaker 2: Like we explore different aspects of what death means, hospice care, deathdoulas,
[47:29] Speaker 2: different things that people would find very interesting because I
[47:32] Speaker 2: think as afraid of we are, as death, it's inevitable,
[47:35] Speaker 2: and I think it's important to not be afraid of
[47:37] Speaker 2: it totally.
[47:39] Speaker 1: You know. I always talk about having these conversations about
[47:43] Speaker 1: the spiritual world makes me not afraid to die, absolutely,
[47:48] Speaker 1: because it makes me feel like it's just not it's
[47:51] Speaker 1: not over, there's more, there is something.
[47:54] Speaker 2: Absolutely. Do you ever think what you would say? I
[47:57] Speaker 2: always have this because I've died so many times in
[47:59] Speaker 2: my dream Do you ever think what you would say
[48:02] Speaker 2: as you were going, like, what would be like your
[48:04] Speaker 2: last thoughts or your last thing that you would say
[48:07] Speaker 2: in your head? Yes, what would you say?
[48:09] Speaker 1: I would say. I never told anyone this, But the
[48:14] Speaker 1: truth is I that's so funny.
[48:24] Speaker 2: I was just thinking the other day that I want
[48:25] Speaker 2: somebody to like cause the scene at my funeral and
[48:27] Speaker 2: be like, I'm sorry I should have told you about
[48:29] Speaker 2: our child, and then just like walk off the stage,
[48:33] Speaker 2: like walk off the yeah, like it's me.
[48:36] Speaker 1: Yeah, I want to hire like full on improv actors.
[48:39] Speaker 2: She's gonna do that exactly, like but not saying anything.
[48:47] Speaker 2: Just get off the stage, leave, get in the car
[48:49] Speaker 2: and go.
[48:51] Speaker 1: Wait a second, this is wild, curly. Something just happened
[48:56] Speaker 1: to me.
[48:57] Speaker 2: What happened?
[48:58] Speaker 1: I never dream I just remembered that I had a
[49:02] Speaker 1: dream last night.
[49:05] Speaker 2: I told you. I told you, I.
[49:07] Speaker 1: Just remembered, and it had to do with an existing
[49:11] Speaker 1: TV show that's already on TV and me joining it
[49:16] Speaker 1: and collaborating with it.
[49:18] Speaker 2: Put it down in the universe.
[49:19] Speaker 1: Is it a prediction?
[49:20] Speaker 2: It might be.
[49:21] Speaker 1: I would feel better if it was you that had
[49:23] Speaker 1: the dream than me.
[49:24] Speaker 2: But why don't you text me the name of the
[49:26] Speaker 2: show and then we can see I'll do like some
[49:29] Speaker 2: I'll try to dive in a little later today and
[49:31] Speaker 2: see God or we might actually know someone.
[49:36] Speaker 1: I just can't. I can't believe that. Like I seriously
[49:40] Speaker 1: never dream and I just like I just like remembered,
[49:43] Speaker 1: like I fully had like a long dream, and now
[49:46] Speaker 1: I'm remembering all of these things that happened to me.
[49:49] Speaker 2: Write it down.
[49:50] Speaker 1: It wasn't just like a blip. It was like a
[49:52] Speaker 1: full on story.
[49:55] Speaker 2: Write it down. Write it down tonight, or when we
[49:57] Speaker 2: hang up, write it down and think about it, reflects
[50:01] Speaker 2: on it. Light a candle, light a white candle, Write
[50:04] Speaker 2: the name of the show on a piece of paper,
[50:08] Speaker 2: put it under the white candle. I would leave it
[50:10] Speaker 2: there for like over ten days. I like to go over.
[50:13] Speaker 2: People say ten days, but I like to go a
[50:14] Speaker 2: little bit over and see what happened to leave the paper?
[50:19] Speaker 2: Okay for you?
[50:21] Speaker 1: No, I love all that stuff. I'm into it. Yeah,
[50:26] Speaker 1: I mean, and I studied a decent amount of that.
[50:29] Speaker 1: And it's interesting growing up Catholic. How like there's so
[50:33] Speaker 1: much overlap?
[50:35] Speaker 2: Oh yeah, absolutely, absolutely so much. It's all magic. People
[50:38] Speaker 2: just call God different names. People just call like, what's
[50:41] Speaker 2: a prayer if not a spell?
[50:42] Speaker 1: Oh totally?
[50:44] Speaker 2: What are the witches in the craft man? Send me
[50:46] Speaker 2: blah blah blah blah blah. And then what are we saying, like, Lord,
[50:49] Speaker 2: send me, you know, send me more funds? Like it's
[50:51] Speaker 2: all just different names, and we're just all trying to
[50:54] Speaker 2: be like co creators and tapping into the universe and
[50:58] Speaker 2: asking it to help us in places that we don't understand.
[51:00] Speaker 1: So well, I feel like I understand you better now,
[51:06] Speaker 1: and I'm so happy that you've joined me once again.
