[2:37] Speaker 1: I love talking to listeners. This first one is Haley,
[2:43] Speaker 1: and Haley has had experiences with everything. We even get
[2:47] Speaker 1: a bigfoot. So let's hand it on over to Haley
[2:52] Speaker 1: and with the show. I'm for Hailey from Alabama.
[3:05] Speaker 2: Hi.
[3:06] Speaker 1: Hi, Okay you, according to this email I received, you
[3:13] Speaker 1: are the ultimate triple threat, honey, because you've got UFO, Bigfoot,
[3:22] Speaker 1: and ghosts.
[3:23] Speaker 2: I do it all, I do it all.
[3:24] Speaker 1: You could do it all that is, Uh, there's diversity
[3:31] Speaker 1: in these stories. You are well rounded in your paranormal experiences.
[3:39] Speaker 1: Which one do we start with? I gotta hear Bigfoot?
[3:42] Speaker 1: Can we start with Bigfoot?
[3:44] Speaker 2: Okay? So I will say being a triple threat.
[3:46] Speaker 4: I come from northwest Florida, and I know everyone has
[3:49] Speaker 4: heard of Florida Man.
[3:50] Speaker 2: And that's probably why we have so many stories. It's
[3:53] Speaker 2: been a lot going on.
[3:55] Speaker 4: So when I was nineteen, I was transferring to Florida State,
[3:59] Speaker 4: and like at your average nineteen year old, I wasn't really.
[4:02] Speaker 2: Thinking through what I was doing.
[4:04] Speaker 4: When I was registering for my classes, and my hometown
[4:07] Speaker 4: is about an hour from Tallahassee. I send up for
[4:10] Speaker 4: a seven am class in Tallahassee, which is on Eastern Time,
[4:14] Speaker 4: not realizing that was a six am Central Time class.
[4:18] Speaker 4: So I was leaving my house every day I had
[4:20] Speaker 4: to be out by four forty five am.
[4:22] Speaker 2: Oh my god, I don't know how I did it, honestly,
[4:25] Speaker 2: Actually I didn't a lot of time. But one of
[4:28] Speaker 2: the day when I was.
[4:30] Speaker 4: On the road, you have to pass through hense forests
[4:33] Speaker 4: to get to the interstate, and it's we had been
[4:35] Speaker 4: eclectrical and national forests and it was one.
[4:38] Speaker 2: Morning, it was like four thirty four to forty five.
[4:40] Speaker 4: I was driving through and all of a sudden, I
[4:43] Speaker 4: see something coming from the right out of the forest,
[4:46] Speaker 4: kind of like into the road, and it looked at me.
[4:50] Speaker 4: We made eye contacts, and it was a sick but
[4:53] Speaker 4: I swear to gone a standing by that till the
[4:55] Speaker 4: day I die.
[4:56] Speaker 1: Tell me what I look like.
[4:58] Speaker 4: It was what you would expect, I guess whenever people
[5:00] Speaker 4: say it, just like super tall, Harry, just I don't know,
[5:06] Speaker 4: you're as age generic, just good old fashioned, you know,
[5:12] Speaker 4: all is reliable. And we locked eyes and it chilled
[5:17] Speaker 4: me to my core. I was like terrified because I
[5:21] Speaker 4: knew that I had seen something that I wasn't supposed
[5:24] Speaker 4: to see. And all I can like compare it to
[5:26] Speaker 4: is if you saw like a huge crime going down
[5:29] Speaker 4: and the people that were committing that crime, like you
[5:31] Speaker 4: guys locked eyes and they knew that.
[5:33] Speaker 1: You saw what they were doing, like witness protection.
[5:37] Speaker 2: Oh my god.
[5:38] Speaker 4: I started crying. I was calling my mom and she
[5:41] Speaker 4: was like, don't call me, just early.
[5:44] Speaker 5: You know.
[5:45] Speaker 2: There was no sympathy, but it was a memory like
[5:48] Speaker 2: I will never forget it, and I've told my wife
[5:51] Speaker 2: about that.
[5:51] Speaker 4: I sway right, and she's just like, you know, I
[5:53] Speaker 4: believe it's out there, but not in Florida, but in
[5:57] Speaker 4: the Athletesiclon National Forest.
[5:59] Speaker 2: He has come shore where.
[6:02] Speaker 1: But so you you know, it was not a bear.
[6:07] Speaker 2: It was no, it was not a bear. So I've
[6:08] Speaker 2: seen bears several times. We have a lot of like
[6:12] Speaker 2: black bears, and it was not.
[6:14] Speaker 1: It was not a bear, like a more human face.
[6:18] Speaker 4: Yeah. And he was standing straight upright and it had
[6:21] Speaker 4: you know, those long arms and kind of like the
[6:24] Speaker 4: big steps and swinging arms.
[6:26] Speaker 2: And it was truly the.
[6:29] Speaker 4: Most terrifying thing I've ever seen in my entire life
[6:31] Speaker 4: because I knew that I was not supposed to see it,
[6:34] Speaker 4: and it.
[6:34] Speaker 1: Locked eyes with you to see this could have been
[6:37] Speaker 1: like a round com It could have this bigfoot was
[6:42] Speaker 1: falling in love with you.
[6:44] Speaker 4: I mean, if you could have seen me in the
[6:47] Speaker 4: car looking like I looked, I think he would have
[6:50] Speaker 4: just turned away so quickly.
[6:52] Speaker 2: But he couldn't tell because of the headlights.
[6:55] Speaker 4: And that's where I really was able to connect for
[6:58] Speaker 4: just a minute because he couldn't see what I looked like.
[7:00] Speaker 2: Inside.
[7:00] Speaker 1: Oh my god. Uh Okay, So we got bigfoot. Yeah,
[7:06] Speaker 1: let me hear about an alien or a UFO situation.
[7:10] Speaker 4: Okay, So these are the crazy stories that you're like,
[7:13] Speaker 4: no one's gonna believe me when I say this, and
[7:16] Speaker 4: it makes you want to not tell people because there's
[7:18] Speaker 4: anything that you're crazy.
[7:19] Speaker 1: And so I get it, I get it. Don't worry.
[7:23] Speaker 2: I'm going to give you enough to just worry about me. Like,
[7:26] Speaker 2: so't I don't need to add this in.
[7:28] Speaker 4: And so I was talking to my cousin, Caitlin, and
[7:32] Speaker 4: she was talking about how her and her then boyfriend
[7:36] Speaker 4: had gone out. They were in pen northwest Florida, driving
[7:39] Speaker 4: around like hunting, and they were going out of the
[7:42] Speaker 4: hunting leaves and they were just kind of chining and
[7:44] Speaker 4: seeing if they have like any deer that were kind
[7:46] Speaker 4: of like showing up out there, and they saw this
[7:49] Speaker 4: strange light in the sky. And we do have a
[7:53] Speaker 4: little airport in town, and they'll do a lot of
[7:56] Speaker 4: kind of like army training exercises and so yeah, yeah.
[8:00] Speaker 1: That's what they always say.
[8:03] Speaker 4: Well, they'll give you a heads up and say like hey,
[8:05] Speaker 4: we're doing these exercises or we're you know, doing stuff
[8:08] Speaker 4: out in the woods, or we're you know, doing a
[8:10] Speaker 4: little practice man hunting situation. There's always something going on.
[8:13] Speaker 4: But they saw the same in the sky, and the
[8:15] Speaker 4: way that it was moving was just not average at all,
[8:20] Speaker 4: and it would kind of go vertical a little bit
[8:23] Speaker 4: and then kind of horizontal and just stay there.
[8:26] Speaker 2: And her boyfriend had this huge like maghlighte and just shined.
[8:30] Speaker 4: It up at that to see if they if they
[8:33] Speaker 4: could see anything any kind of detailer you know, how
[8:36] Speaker 4: big it was. And immediately when they did that, it
[8:39] Speaker 4: like flashed its lights and just went off like completely black.
[8:43] Speaker 4: And we were talking about and she said that she
[8:45] Speaker 4: was like killed to the bone. She knew like that
[8:48] Speaker 4: wasn't right. We were not up just to see that,
[8:50] Speaker 4: and so we both had that same kind of experience
[8:53] Speaker 4: where you've seen something that you knew was not meant
[8:56] Speaker 4: for you to see, and that just fear of oh
[9:00] Speaker 4: my god, are they.
[9:00] Speaker 2: Going to come for me?
[9:02] Speaker 4: She was sharing that, and that was what finally let
[9:04] Speaker 4: me be like, okay, let me tell you about Bigfoot.
[9:06] Speaker 1: Something about your family, you guys are or maybe you
[9:10] Speaker 1: are supposed to see it.
[9:11] Speaker 2: I well.
[9:12] Speaker 4: And then this was you know, obviously before the government
[9:15] Speaker 4: released all the information about aliens, and so after that
[9:19] Speaker 4: it all came out.
[9:19] Speaker 2: She's like, I knew it. I knew it. And I
[9:22] Speaker 2: was like, I'm just waiting on them to talk about
[9:23] Speaker 2: Bigwood now, yes, waiting for that to be let out.
[9:32] Speaker 1: Okay, now tell me a ghost story.
[9:35] Speaker 2: Okay.
[9:35] Speaker 4: So my grandma we were very very close, and like
[9:39] Speaker 4: back in the seventies, she was super super skeptical, but
[9:42] Speaker 4: a few of the girls that she worked with were
[9:44] Speaker 4: really into going to this poem reader, so she went
[9:46] Speaker 4: with them a couple of times.
[9:48] Speaker 2: One time she went and.
[9:49] Speaker 4: The woman told her that she was going to have
[9:53] Speaker 4: some man expressed his admiration or you know, desire to
[9:56] Speaker 4: be with her in that week. And then another one
[9:59] Speaker 4: told her she was going to be married or sent
[10:01] Speaker 4: her life with a tall, dark haired man, and that
[10:03] Speaker 4: she would die in a fire. Oh god.
[10:07] Speaker 2: Well. Then also grandma told me that one time she
[10:09] Speaker 2: had done a weekly board.
[10:10] Speaker 4: Also I'm not sure this was before after the poem readers,
[10:14] Speaker 4: but that it also told her she would die in
[10:16] Speaker 4: a fire. So you know stuff, I'm like, okay, this
[10:20] Speaker 4: is crazy. Why would you even ask? The questions are like,
[10:24] Speaker 4: I wouldn't want to know. Well, you know, Graham didn't
[10:26] Speaker 4: believe it at all. And then the next week after
[10:29] Speaker 4: the first palm reader, she was picking her son up
[10:31] Speaker 4: from baseball practice and his coach asked her out on
[10:34] Speaker 4: a date.
[10:35] Speaker 2: And my grandpa was a truck.
[10:36] Speaker 4: Driver, so that wasn't around much, and the coach had
[10:38] Speaker 4: no idea that Graham was married. So that's the first
[10:41] Speaker 4: poem reader, you know, personal expressing admiration, wanting to you know,
[10:46] Speaker 4: be with her.
[10:46] Speaker 2: That came true.
[10:47] Speaker 4: Oh and then several years later said grandpa wound up
[10:52] Speaker 4: leaving her and the kids, and she moved back to
[10:55] Speaker 4: her hometown in Florida, and she wound up meeting and
[10:57] Speaker 4: marrying my papa, who is a tall dark man. So
[11:02] Speaker 4: of course I'm existed in this and so in the
[11:04] Speaker 4: back of my mind, I'm just saying, like, Okay, this
[11:07] Speaker 4: guy's going out in a fly in a fire, like
[11:09] Speaker 4: just blaze of glory like that.
[11:12] Speaker 1: I would avoid every I wouldn't even go near a
[11:15] Speaker 1: lighter matches nothing.
[11:18] Speaker 4: Well, so here's where our family humor gets a little morbid.
[11:23] Speaker 4: So my grandma found like really bad help, and she'd
[11:25] Speaker 4: be lifelighted several times since I had a few year
[11:28] Speaker 4: death medical experiences, and she was my best friend and
[11:32] Speaker 4: I couldn't really bear the thought of ever losing her.
[11:35] Speaker 4: So whenever they would take her away and the joance
[11:37] Speaker 4: their helicopter, we would joke and it's like, hey, this
[11:40] Speaker 4: isn't your time, baby girl, just going out in that fire.
[11:43] Speaker 4: And she's like, you're right, You're right, this isn't it.
[11:46] Speaker 4: I gotta wait for the fire. And it would just
[11:48] Speaker 4: weirdly calm us to say that.
[11:53] Speaker 6: I love that.
[11:53] Speaker 2: That's an old I mean, I like that. Well, at
[11:58] Speaker 2: this point, she gets really bad.
[12:00] Speaker 4: She's on full time oxygen, so she plugged up the
[12:02] Speaker 4: machine NonStop. She is almost completely bedbound. She's basically able
[12:07] Speaker 4: to just get from her bed to her bathroom and
[12:10] Speaker 4: then back to bed.
[12:11] Speaker 2: That was all she could do.
[12:12] Speaker 4: And in twenty twenty one, she was in her bathroom
[12:15] Speaker 4: and she looked over into the laundry and that was attached,
[12:19] Speaker 4: and she watched as her electrical box caught on fire.
[12:23] Speaker 2: Knock it off, Sorry to God. So she is like
[12:26] Speaker 2: screaming for my grandpa.
[12:28] Speaker 4: He is in his little man cave across the house asleep,
[12:32] Speaker 4: and he's almost completely deaf, so obviously he could not
[12:35] Speaker 4: hear anything. So like naturally one would assume like this
[12:38] Speaker 4: is it homegirl's time something. I don't know if it
[12:42] Speaker 4: came over her or into her, but she was able
[12:46] Speaker 4: to get up. She took her oxygen off, she walked
[12:49] Speaker 4: across the house, got my grandpa called nine on one,
[12:52] Speaker 4: got dim and her dog out of the house.
[12:54] Speaker 2: So somehow she said all through it their lives.
[12:58] Speaker 4: I'm not sure what exactly happened that day, but Graham
[13:02] Speaker 4: was like a little different after after the fire, they
[13:05] Speaker 4: wounds up moving to my mom's house in Tennessee, and
[13:08] Speaker 4: you know, Graham's back to her usual help of you know,
[13:12] Speaker 4: oxygen full time, almost completely dead balanced. So when they
[13:15] Speaker 4: moved up there, my mom had told me, you know,
[13:18] Speaker 4: Graham's I think she's like declining a little bit.
[13:20] Speaker 2: She keeps talking to her parents like they're in the
[13:23] Speaker 2: room with us.
[13:24] Speaker 4: And I was living in Tennessee, I'd moved there like
[13:26] Speaker 4: a year before, so I was glad I was able
[13:28] Speaker 4: to spend some time with them. And my parents went
[13:32] Speaker 4: to a wedding and so my then girlfriend and I
[13:34] Speaker 4: went to stay with my Grandmampapa and we were straightening
[13:39] Speaker 4: up the house.
[13:39] Speaker 2: And I was vacuuming, and as I'm vacuuming.
[13:43] Speaker 4: I don't know if everyone doesn't. So like, you take
[13:44] Speaker 4: a couple of steps for and the couple steps back.
[13:46] Speaker 4: You just trying to make sure you get it real good.
[13:48] Speaker 4: As I'm backing up, I'm back into a person. And
[13:53] Speaker 4: I just assumed it with my girlfriend because I knew
[13:55] Speaker 4: my grandparents were and their requiners, and so I just
[13:58] Speaker 4: turned around, was like, oh, I'm so sorry. I look
[14:00] Speaker 4: and she's in the kitchen and there was nobody behind me,
[14:04] Speaker 4: and my face went wide.
[14:06] Speaker 2: I was so cold. And my grandma just looked at
[14:09] Speaker 2: me and said, oh, that's just daddy. He's fine. I
[14:14] Speaker 2: was like, okay, okay, cool, cool cool. So then Graham.
[14:19] Speaker 4: June of twenty twenty two, they were back at their
[14:22] Speaker 4: house in Florida. Now we talked to her on sohone
[14:23] Speaker 4: all the time, and she really started to decline. So
[14:27] Speaker 4: you know, the whole family came in.
[14:29] Speaker 2: We were it was like a movie scene. When she passed.
[14:32] Speaker 4: We were all just like circled around her bed, telling
[14:34] Speaker 4: her how much we loved her. She kept telling us
[14:38] Speaker 4: that her mom had come to fear and wanted her
[14:40] Speaker 4: to go with her, and so we're like, Graham, you know,
[14:42] Speaker 4: it's okay, like we'll take care of each other, you
[14:45] Speaker 4: can go. And it was the sweetest thing.
[14:48] Speaker 2: I'm so glad I was there.
[14:50] Speaker 4: So grandpasses and one of her last things that she
[14:53] Speaker 4: asked was if I would do her hair and makeup
[14:55] Speaker 4: for the funeral.
[14:56] Speaker 2: So I did. And I don't know if you ever
[15:00] Speaker 2: had people talk to you about this.
[15:03] Speaker 4: I'm imagining this is just gonna be this beautiful moment,
[15:06] Speaker 4: like me do my grandma's pair makeup for the last time.
[15:09] Speaker 2: It was not Uh.
[15:11] Speaker 4: They put me in a room and my aunt decided
[15:13] Speaker 4: she was going to come too, and it was my
[15:16] Speaker 4: grandma perst particular to my grandma, there were three.
[15:19] Speaker 2: Other men deceased in the room with us, and.
[15:25] Speaker 4: Yeah, and the more cause she's like, all right, well
[15:27] Speaker 4: here she is, and you know, it's a small town.
[15:29] Speaker 4: So she's like, take care of my cousin.
[15:32] Speaker 2: And I'm like, okay.
[15:34] Speaker 4: So as I'm like doing your makeup, I'm bumping in
[15:39] Speaker 4: to these men no, and I'm just like, oh, sor,
[15:42] Speaker 4: I'm so sorry.
[15:43] Speaker 2: I'm so sorry. And my aunt, who I guess that
[15:46] Speaker 2: are morbid humor.
[15:49] Speaker 4: Mentioned one of the gentlemen's noses and she's like oh
[15:52] Speaker 4: my gosh, the thing is huge.
[15:53] Speaker 2: You could just write it. And I was like, oh,
[15:56] Speaker 2: dear God, and I am just like apologizing for please
[16:00] Speaker 2: with me, and I'm like you, we don't mean it,
[16:02] Speaker 2: we don't mean it. Please don't come back to haunt.
[16:04] Speaker 4: And it's like I think you look great, and so
[16:10] Speaker 4: I'm telling Grandma, like I want you to come back.
[16:12] Speaker 2: I don't want these men. I don't know. So we
[16:15] Speaker 2: had just kind of drug about that and kind of
[16:17] Speaker 2: light in the movie Oh my God.
[16:22] Speaker 4: One night in my apartment, I have, you know, just
[16:25] Speaker 4: really been talking to her every night and like, hey,
[16:27] Speaker 4: I love you, miss she please come see me if.
[16:29] Speaker 2: You can, please come see me.
[16:31] Speaker 4: And one night I had this super vivid dream and
[16:35] Speaker 4: she was sitting next to me in the bed and
[16:37] Speaker 4: she told me, She's like, hey, I love you.
[16:40] Speaker 2: I'm okay, I want to come back. I'm trying to
[16:43] Speaker 2: come see you, but it's really.
[16:44] Speaker 7: Hard for me to do.
[16:45] Speaker 4: And she was like still trying to figure out how
[16:47] Speaker 4: to do it, and so she let me know like
[16:50] Speaker 4: she was there, she was coming, but it was just
[16:52] Speaker 4: kind of hard for her to figure out.
[16:54] Speaker 2: And it just gave me so much peace.
[16:56] Speaker 4: A few months later, I wounded up meeting my now wife,
[16:59] Speaker 4: and I had brought her home to me my family
[17:01] Speaker 4: for the first time. And so at this point, my
[17:04] Speaker 4: mom is living in my grandparents house. She is taking
[17:07] Speaker 4: care of my grandfather, and my mom's bedroom is my
[17:09] Speaker 4: grandma's old bedroom where my grandma passed away. And I
[17:14] Speaker 4: take Beth in, and you know, we're getting ready to
[17:17] Speaker 4: go out, and everything's fine. Everyone seems to like get along,
[17:21] Speaker 4: We're great. A couple months later, we're back home in
[17:23] Speaker 4: Alabama and I said, hey, no, let's get ready to
[17:27] Speaker 4: plan Easter. We're going to Florida and I mentioned my
[17:30] Speaker 4: aunt Kim and Beth says, oh, I don't think she
[17:34] Speaker 4: likes me.
[17:35] Speaker 2: I'm like, why do you say that?
[17:38] Speaker 4: She just really wasn't wasn't feeling me the last time
[17:42] Speaker 4: I was there, and I said, best she was not
[17:44] Speaker 4: even in town when you came. She was like in
[17:47] Speaker 4: the Lucky and She's like, no, she came in and
[17:51] Speaker 4: she did not speak to me. She didn't really acknowledge me.
[17:54] Speaker 4: It was just really weird, and I knew any kim
[17:58] Speaker 4: usn't there. I even had to call my mom and
[18:01] Speaker 4: my other aunt. She'd be like, hey, can you please
[18:04] Speaker 4: reasure best because she does not trust me.
[18:06] Speaker 2: Was Kin there and was not.
[18:09] Speaker 4: Beth describes a woman coming into Graham and Papa house.
[18:12] Speaker 4: She said that she walked her through this front door,
[18:16] Speaker 4: went to my grandpa's room to check on him, came
[18:18] Speaker 4: back out, went to my grandma Fuls bedroom, came back
[18:22] Speaker 4: out and was just standing by me and my aunt
[18:26] Speaker 4: for a while. And I said, did anyone talk to
[18:29] Speaker 4: her Best? And she said no, nobody said anything. Really,
[18:32] Speaker 4: I thought maybe she was your aunt. But if it
[18:34] Speaker 4: wasn't her, maybe it was like a nurse coming to
[18:37] Speaker 4: see your papa. And I'm like, no, nobody came in,
[18:40] Speaker 4: I would have introduced you.
[18:43] Speaker 2: What does this woman look like?
[18:45] Speaker 4: She described in the perfect detail my grandma Cirka like
[18:51] Speaker 4: two thousand and two.
[18:53] Speaker 1: Oh my god.
[18:55] Speaker 4: It was the craziest, scarious, like all hum of comforting thing.
[19:00] Speaker 4: And I think, honestly Graham was there also trying to
[19:04] Speaker 4: check out best to make sure she was okay to
[19:07] Speaker 4: join our family, because that was like one of my
[19:09] Speaker 4: biggest things, Like, oh, I just wish you could have
[19:11] Speaker 4: met Graham.
[19:13] Speaker 1: That is incredible.
[19:16] Speaker 4: And since then my wife is so means that she
[19:19] Speaker 4: apparently can see quite a bit and has seen her
[19:23] Speaker 4: debased grandfather and has seen my grandmother since been at.
[19:28] Speaker 2: Our new house in Alabama. So apparently she has learned
[19:31] Speaker 2: how to travel.
[19:34] Speaker 1: So do you think that she approves and they get
[19:36] Speaker 1: along and everything's good.
[19:38] Speaker 2: I think so. But one of the funniest things I have.
[19:41] Speaker 4: I keep a couple of pictures of her in my car,
[19:44] Speaker 4: and it was in the little passenger sun visor. Whenever
[19:49] Speaker 4: you pull it down, there's a little cliff and it's
[19:50] Speaker 4: on there some reason that's pulled it down, and I
[19:53] Speaker 4: know she had to do it, like Graham. Grandma was
[19:55] Speaker 4: a little staffy, but she pulled it down and the
[19:58] Speaker 4: sis here Graham came flying and had the rest the
[20:00] Speaker 4: face and She's.
[20:01] Speaker 2: Like, tell her to stop.
[20:05] Speaker 1: Has she seen pictures of her from like two thousand
[20:08] Speaker 1: and two and been like, yeah, that's the lady.
[20:10] Speaker 4: So she had never seen pictures of her before. Really,
[20:13] Speaker 4: she had seen my aunt who looked almost identical to her.
[20:16] Speaker 4: But she was talking like sh had a panicle in
[20:19] Speaker 4: her hair and she was blaring one of those like
[20:23] Speaker 4: HoTT in sweatsuit situations, and it was.
[20:27] Speaker 2: It was her, but it was like two thousand and two.
[20:30] Speaker 2: It was I didn't go in.
[20:31] Speaker 4: So I found some old pictures and I was hoping
[20:34] Speaker 4: I could find one of her in like that kind
[20:35] Speaker 4: of outfit. But I found some old pictures of her
[20:37] Speaker 4: from around that kind of doesn't like, that's that's who
[20:39] Speaker 4: I saw that who came in the house.
[20:41] Speaker 2: Oh my god, so Beth saw her.
[20:45] Speaker 4: She thought that because she knew like they were like
[20:47] Speaker 4: looking at each other, because I said, you know, like,
[20:50] Speaker 4: did any of us even acknowledge her? Surely you can't
[20:52] Speaker 4: think her entire family is that rude that we're just
[20:54] Speaker 4: gonna completely ignore someone.
[20:57] Speaker 1: I'm obsessed with the fact that when she chose to
[21:01] Speaker 1: come back, she's chosen like Sweatsuit two thousand and two,
[21:06] Speaker 1: like the juicycatur What are we talking?
[21:10] Speaker 4: Yes, I'm like imagining like Jessie just Rittler, but like
[21:14] Speaker 4: and she's just got this a little popping figure back
[21:17] Speaker 4: and she's just showing it all off.
[21:19] Speaker 7: Like look at this.
[21:20] Speaker 1: Yeah, you know what, like go for comfort if you're
[21:23] Speaker 1: going to be a ghost. I love that.
[21:25] Speaker 4: Well, Okay, here's a little thing the ghost through. Whenever
[21:27] Speaker 4: we're talking about what we're going to bury her in,
[21:30] Speaker 4: you know, she's talking to us about it and she
[21:33] Speaker 4: was all about a mumoo and she's like, you know what,
[21:36] Speaker 4: when I'm buried, this is how I wanted to be.
[21:39] Speaker 2: I want to be in a comfortable mumu.
[21:42] Speaker 4: I did not want to brawl on and she had
[21:44] Speaker 4: ventures and and I want you to take my teeth
[21:46] Speaker 4: out and just put him in my hand. You didn't
[21:48] Speaker 4: just bury him in my hand with me. She's like,
[21:51] Speaker 4: I'm going out in comfort.
[21:53] Speaker 1: Hell yeah, And she sure did that.
[21:57] Speaker 4: We got her this cute little like Satine mumou and
[22:00] Speaker 4: it was yellow, and then we took her.
[22:01] Speaker 2: Teeth, like, don't even put my teeth end. I want
[22:03] Speaker 2: to be comfortable. Don't put me in a brawl I'm
[22:05] Speaker 2: not trying to be in that for the rest of eternity.
[22:08] Speaker 1: Hell yeah.
[22:08] Speaker 2: And so yeah, she was all about some comfort.
[22:11] Speaker 1: I love that.
[22:12] Speaker 2: I do.
[22:12] Speaker 1: Do you know so many of these ghosts are from
[22:16] Speaker 1: the eighteen hundreds with their corsets, and you know that
[22:20] Speaker 1: does not seem like a way I would want to
[22:23] Speaker 1: spend eternity. Take my bra put me in a moomo.
[22:26] Speaker 1: I'll hold my teeth.
[22:27] Speaker 6: I'm with her on this exactly like I like to
[22:31] Speaker 6: imagine she was in some sketchers also and she is
[22:34] Speaker 6: literally just like walking on cloud just comfortable as hell.
[22:38] Speaker 1: Amazing. Well, Haley, you are indeed a triple threat. And
[22:47] Speaker 1: if you have any other stories in the future, you
[22:50] Speaker 1: know where to find me. Thank you, Haley. Hey, you
[22:58] Speaker 1: know what we need? Kathleen. Who Kathleen's got one of
[23:04] Speaker 1: these stories. One of these stories the type they would
[23:08] Speaker 1: make a movie ota. So we're going to hear that
[23:11] Speaker 1: right now, Kathleen, take it away. I am talking now
[23:21] Speaker 1: to Kathleen and Philly. Hi, Kathleen, Hi, Rod. You've got
[23:28] Speaker 1: some stories. Where do we start?
[23:31] Speaker 8: Well? I do? I have so many stories that we
[23:35] Speaker 8: should probably start with the fact that I grew up
[23:38] Speaker 8: in a hunted house.
[23:39] Speaker 7: I'm one of those.
[23:41] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, okay, what's the story with this house?
[23:45] Speaker 7: Well, so I was the middle shovel of five kids.
[23:51] Speaker 8: I know that you've talked about this on your show before,
[23:54] Speaker 8: but my sister and I played with a Oiji port, okay,
[23:57] Speaker 8: and that's when things started happening. How old were you
[24:01] Speaker 8: I was about twelve or thirteen and she was like
[24:04] Speaker 8: eight or nine when it all began. So this house
[24:08] Speaker 8: was the house that used to be like the main
[24:10] Speaker 8: house of an apple farm. But all of the property
[24:14] Speaker 8: around it was all chopped up into other houses. It
[24:16] Speaker 8: was a regular neighborhood outside of Pittsburgh, but we did
[24:21] Speaker 8: have the oldest house in that neighborhood. And the reason
[24:26] Speaker 8: why I feel pretty confident that the Wiji board is
[24:29] Speaker 8: what opened that door is because nothing had happened before
[24:33] Speaker 8: we played with the Wichi board, and then stuff started happening.
[24:36] Speaker 1: Oh okay, what happened.
[24:39] Speaker 8: Well, the biggest thing, the most pervasive thing, was there
[24:45] Speaker 8: would be a something behind the headboards of all five
[24:50] Speaker 8: of us kids, and it was the loud and pervasive
[24:56] Speaker 8: and repetitive and it was just make us up from
[25:00] Speaker 8: sound sleeps. And every one of us swore that the
[25:05] Speaker 8: something calming was coming from inside the wall and behind
[25:10] Speaker 8: each one of our own hudboards.
[25:12] Speaker 7: Like everyone was like, no, it's on my wall.
[25:14] Speaker 8: No, it's on my wall, right weird, And I mean,
[25:18] Speaker 8: it is kind of funny that one of my brothers
[25:20] Speaker 8: actually like drew a map at one point and was like, hey,
[25:26] Speaker 8: eds are a different walls. My parents kept trying to
[25:31] Speaker 8: blame that on various things. You know, Oh it's an
[25:34] Speaker 8: old house. Oh there's raccoons to the chimney, you know,
[25:38] Speaker 8: various things, and we found out years later that they
[25:41] Speaker 8: also thought it was supernatural, and actually that's probably.
[25:44] Speaker 7: A little bit of a spoiler because what else went down.
[25:47] Speaker 8: So so that was the most that everybody experienced, but
[25:51] Speaker 8: my sister and I had the most and the worst experiences. Okay,
[25:57] Speaker 8: So we shared a room and we had a big
[26:01] Speaker 8: walking closet, like it leaves ten feet deep, and.
[26:06] Speaker 7: People would come out of the closet, just walk out
[26:10] Speaker 7: of the.
[26:10] Speaker 8: Closet, talking only to each other, not even looking at us,
[26:13] Speaker 8: but talking to each other, and.
[26:15] Speaker 7: We would just be laying there.
[26:16] Speaker 1: Where would they go if they would walk out the door.
[26:19] Speaker 8: And into the hallway what And they would be very
[26:23] Speaker 8: engaged in these conversations with each other, and it was
[26:27] Speaker 8: all different people, so many different people.
[26:30] Speaker 7: We would be terrified, even though they never would look
[26:32] Speaker 7: at us. So that happened night after night. Whoa you
[26:37] Speaker 7: know when you watch.
[26:38] Speaker 8: A scary movie and everybody says, get out, get out
[26:42] Speaker 8: of that.
[26:43] Speaker 7: Yeah, I understand why they don't.
[26:47] Speaker 8: These things that were happening were not happening every single night,
[26:53] Speaker 8: So it was like easy to keep pretending that.
[26:56] Speaker 7: Like that was a one off that won't happen again.
[27:00] Speaker 8: You know, we were all raised Catholic, we weren't super
[27:02] Speaker 8: duper religious, but we would lay there. I really remember
[27:06] Speaker 8: praying aloud with my sister and saying, don't let it
[27:09] Speaker 8: happen to me.
[27:09] Speaker 7: Don't let it happen to me.
[27:11] Speaker 1: You know, like how many people a night would we
[27:14] Speaker 1: be talking?
[27:16] Speaker 2: Oh, ten or twelve?
[27:18] Speaker 5: What?
[27:20] Speaker 8: And we would wake up from them talking to each
[27:23] Speaker 8: other the sound of people coming through the room.
[27:27] Speaker 1: Would you ever hear what they were talking about?
[27:30] Speaker 5: No?
[27:30] Speaker 7: No, it sounded like you know, your EVPs would just
[27:35] Speaker 7: you know, just voice it.
[27:37] Speaker 1: So do you think it was like a portal or something?
[27:40] Speaker 8: Pullly do that goes? That brings me back to the
[27:43] Speaker 8: Luigi board. I think open a door is going to
[27:48] Speaker 8: walk through.
[27:49] Speaker 5: You know, you can't.
[27:51] Speaker 8: You can't open your window and expect only butterflies to
[27:54] Speaker 8: fly in.
[27:54] Speaker 7: Anything that's a good thing. Yeah, well, I think that's
[28:01] Speaker 7: what it was.
[28:02] Speaker 8: And I think, I mean, it's probably interesting to tell
[28:04] Speaker 8: you too that my parents just refused to hear us.
[28:10] Speaker 7: It was very much.
[28:11] Speaker 8: I didn't realize this a couple of years ago, but
[28:13] Speaker 8: it was almost like stranger things. Like we kids were
[28:17] Speaker 8: all on the second floor, all five of us, and
[28:20] Speaker 8: My parents' bedroom was on the first floor, and we
[28:23] Speaker 8: would tell them about this, or we would just start
[28:27] Speaker 8: screaming and my dad would yell from the bottom of
[28:30] Speaker 8: the steps, get.
[28:31] Speaker 7: To bed to bed.
[28:33] Speaker 8: So like we kids were always trying to figure out
[28:35] Speaker 8: what the hell was going on and see what pattern
[28:37] Speaker 8: we could find or whatever.
[28:39] Speaker 7: But again, this didn't happen every single night.
[28:42] Speaker 8: It was just sometimes. And then I guess I might
[28:45] Speaker 8: have said the worst thing. The worst thing happened one
[28:48] Speaker 8: time that my sister woke up and was talking in
[28:53] Speaker 8: a voice that was in her voice and yeah, oh
[28:57] Speaker 8: I've got sugar, even now remembering it, we had four
[29:01] Speaker 8: poster beds.
[29:02] Speaker 7: Her entire bed was just shaking.
[29:05] Speaker 8: Oh my god, and she was again using some voice
[29:09] Speaker 8: that like I don't even know, it will sound so
[29:12] Speaker 8: silly if I say it.
[29:13] Speaker 7: But like like an extracoist, like this deep voice.
[29:17] Speaker 8: But you couldn't understand what she was saying, and I
[29:20] Speaker 8: lost my mind, as you would imagine. So I was screaming,
[29:25] Speaker 8: and my older brothers came running in the room because
[29:28] Speaker 8: they knew my parents were no help and got to
[29:31] Speaker 8: see enough of it. I did believe that something was
[29:35] Speaker 8: happening in our room that get They like woke her up,
[29:41] Speaker 8: they like jumped on her. I really remember my oldest
[29:44] Speaker 8: brother just like bear hogging her. We're all going, you know,
[29:48] Speaker 8: just saying her name over and over again, you know,
[29:50] Speaker 8: just going, Karen, Karen, Karen, you know, and kind of
[29:53] Speaker 8: like woke up. Her eyes were wide open even as
[29:56] Speaker 8: this other voice was coming.
[29:57] Speaker 7: Out of her.
[29:58] Speaker 1: Oh my god.
[30:03] Speaker 7: And this happened. And embarrassing too that my family let
[30:07] Speaker 7: this go on so long, but almost a year of this,
[30:10] Speaker 7: but not all the time, not all the time. And
[30:14] Speaker 7: that's what allowed us to stay.
[30:16] Speaker 8: We kids were always trying to figure out what was happening, right,
[30:21] Speaker 8: So my very oldest brother was at the.
[30:23] Speaker 7: Age of like climbing out the window and partying and stuff.
[30:28] Speaker 7: So at one point, like we all blamed him and
[30:32] Speaker 7: said he was coming home and thrashing about or whatever.
[30:35] Speaker 8: Who knows, who knows. You're just looking for something logical, right, right,
[30:39] Speaker 8: And so he, you know, vowed to stay home. And
[30:44] Speaker 8: of course it happened even when he didn't go out.
[30:47] Speaker 8: You know, there was a night that was really bad
[30:49] Speaker 8: and he didn't go out. So we had not really
[30:53] Speaker 8: a finished basement that it was still like where we
[30:55] Speaker 8: had a pool table and a shelves of games, you know,
[30:59] Speaker 8: and we had stopped playing with the Wigi board because
[31:03] Speaker 8: we did think that could be the trouble.
[31:05] Speaker 7: But we had to just downstairs with the games.
[31:08] Speaker 8: Right. Well, unbeknownst to us, my parents did believe it
[31:13] Speaker 8: was supernatural, so they took the Wigi board. My father
[31:17] Speaker 8: took the Wigi board and put it in the trash
[31:20] Speaker 8: can and put other trash on top of the Wigi board.
[31:26] Speaker 8: After the trash men left, you know what the next
[31:29] Speaker 8: part is, right.
[31:30] Speaker 1: The Wigi boy came back.
[31:33] Speaker 8: Yet it did, and my dad, I'm so scared something
[31:38] Speaker 8: about his instincts just told him, okay, I don't want
[31:41] Speaker 8: to piss anybody off here.
[31:43] Speaker 7: And he put the Wigi board back down the basement
[31:45] Speaker 7: and didn't.
[31:47] Speaker 8: Tell us any of it, but called the priest and
[31:50] Speaker 8: they pretended that we had never had the house blessed,
[31:54] Speaker 8: you know, that they were remiss in doing that, and
[31:57] Speaker 8: so they had priests come bless the house.
[31:59] Speaker 7: And that was scary. She can mention too, like all
[32:03] Speaker 7: five of us are like hiding behind furniture and watching
[32:06] Speaker 7: this guy.
[32:08] Speaker 8: He had you know, incense in the ball and was
[32:11] Speaker 8: swinging the balls around and praying and Latin, and he
[32:16] Speaker 8: went through every room in the house and we're like
[32:18] Speaker 8: peeping behind furniture and watching him, and we're terrified, terrified.
[32:24] Speaker 7: So that night that something was the worst it ever was.
[32:31] Speaker 1: But the priest swing and his balls is supposed to help.
[32:36] Speaker 8: I remember that we were just so sad. We were
[32:41] Speaker 8: so sad that it didn't work, and it was the
[32:44] Speaker 8: worst it ever was. I am telling you that lights
[32:48] Speaker 8: were swinging, dishes were rattling, with all of us kids
[32:53] Speaker 8: ran downstairs, and my parents finally gave up. They came
[32:57] Speaker 8: out from the room and they were like, we're sorry,
[32:59] Speaker 8: we gotta go.
[33:01] Speaker 7: We got to go. Everybody gets shoes on, grab your toothbrushes.
[33:05] Speaker 7: We're out.
[33:06] Speaker 8: We're gonna go to a motel of the street, right.
[33:08] Speaker 8: And meanwhile, while we're having this conversation.
[33:11] Speaker 7: The entire house which is shaking, Oh my god. And
[33:14] Speaker 7: so we're all ready to go.
[33:17] Speaker 8: My second oldest brother was in first in mind and
[33:20] Speaker 8: I was sticking in line, and he put his hand
[33:22] Speaker 8: on the door knob.
[33:23] Speaker 1: And it just went whoa, what do you mean, like
[33:26] Speaker 1: a burst open.
[33:28] Speaker 7: One loud boom that like reverberated in the air.
[33:32] Speaker 8: Is what had been constant something for the longest ever, loudest,
[33:36] Speaker 8: longest time ever.
[33:37] Speaker 7: It all just stopped, frozen place.
[33:42] Speaker 8: Nobody knew what to do, and we all just looked
[33:44] Speaker 8: at my dad, you know, with that era down, he
[33:46] Speaker 8: knew everything. We all just try to look at my
[33:49] Speaker 8: dad and he goes, it's over. And can you believe it?
[33:54] Speaker 8: Rose that we stayed up that night. We all stayed
[33:57] Speaker 8: up together as a family. But it never happened begin.
[34:01] Speaker 1: Okay, so the pre swing and his balls worked.
[34:05] Speaker 2: It did work.
[34:06] Speaker 1: It just took a little bit, you know, it needed
[34:09] Speaker 1: to get out of there, yeah.
[34:11] Speaker 7: Or something like.
[34:12] Speaker 8: I don't know if that whatever that was was still
[34:16] Speaker 8: like proving something or was angry about it that they
[34:20] Speaker 8: had to go. You know, I'll never know, never know,
[34:25] Speaker 8: But my whole family tells the same story. It has
[34:30] Speaker 8: definitely greatly affected us. And my dad didn't tell us
[34:34] Speaker 8: about trying to throw away the Ouiji boards.
[34:36] Speaker 7: So we were all out of that house.
[34:39] Speaker 1: Oh interesting. How much longer did you stay there?
[34:42] Speaker 5: Oh?
[34:43] Speaker 7: At least fifteen years, probably the whole not everybody you know,
[34:46] Speaker 7: out of the you.
[34:47] Speaker 4: Know what I mean.
[34:47] Speaker 8: But my parents stayed at least fifteen twenty years. Yeah,
[34:52] Speaker 8: and nothing ever happened again. Yeah, And I don't know
[34:55] Speaker 8: enough about this, but my brother is a journalist and
[34:59] Speaker 8: he actually did go back to house and visit with
[35:03] Speaker 8: a couple other families and they had experiences interesting.
[35:08] Speaker 1: That's so weird. So it like it just kind of
[35:12] Speaker 1: calmed down for fifteen years and then got some new
[35:15] Speaker 1: people in there and was like, okay, lights, camera action,
[35:19] Speaker 1: let's go.
[35:22] Speaker 8: I think anything's possible. But I think that like whatever
[35:28] Speaker 8: it was, I hate to say it like this, like
[35:31] Speaker 8: we vanquished.
[35:32] Speaker 7: The bad guy, you know what I mean?
[35:34] Speaker 8: And I think our family finally won, but then when
[35:38] Speaker 8: a new family came in, whatever, a dark entity that
[35:42] Speaker 8: was wanted to be heard.
[35:44] Speaker 1: Again, Terestic.
[35:48] Speaker 8: I do believe that some people are more sensitive to things,
[35:52] Speaker 8: and some people, you know, even draw things. And I
[35:57] Speaker 8: think there's just something about my family's energy. But Luigi
[36:01] Speaker 8: Board was definitely opening the window.
[36:05] Speaker 1: I think, oh my god, Yeah, do you have like
[36:12] Speaker 1: one more story you'd want to share?
[36:14] Speaker 7: And my instincts you're telling me to go with this one.
[36:16] Speaker 7: This isn't my own, this is my mom and her sister.
[36:19] Speaker 7: That's guide or do you want another one?
[36:21] Speaker 8: Yeah?
[36:21] Speaker 1: Sure, let's hear it.
[36:22] Speaker 8: So my mom and her sister dearly loved their grandpa,
[36:29] Speaker 8: and their grandpa died when they were both pregnant. Okay,
[36:34] Speaker 8: so this is my mom and my aunt. My aunt
[36:37] Speaker 8: was I think three months more pregnant than my mom,
[36:41] Speaker 8: and this grandpa that they loved dearly passed away.
[36:44] Speaker 9: So years go by and they're sitting at my grandma's
[36:50] Speaker 9: at some kind of family party and they haven't cocktail,
[36:54] Speaker 9: and they're talking to each.
[36:55] Speaker 8: Other, and my mom says to her sister, I need
[37:02] Speaker 8: to tell you something I've never told you that after
[37:05] Speaker 8: I gave birth to Karen, it was actually Karen ros
[37:09] Speaker 8: come to think of it, after birth to Karen, it
[37:15] Speaker 8: came to visit me.
[37:16] Speaker 1: The grandfather came to visit.
[37:18] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[37:19] Speaker 8: And while she's saying this, my aunt Audrey is just
[37:22] Speaker 8: sitting in Her eyes are getting bigger and bigger, and
[37:25] Speaker 8: Audrey said.
[37:25] Speaker 7: Oh, my body came to see me too.
[37:29] Speaker 8: They both were crying and they telling each other, telling
[37:32] Speaker 8: their stories simultaneously, and it was very similar story that
[37:36] Speaker 8: he just walked in the room. He looked like himself,
[37:39] Speaker 8: he smelled like his pipe, he was wearing the plaid
[37:43] Speaker 8: jacket he always wore. All of the details were the same,
[37:46] Speaker 8: and then he walked over looked at the baby in
[37:49] Speaker 8: the crib in the master bedroom.
[37:51] Speaker 7: And how people did that then, I don't know what
[37:52] Speaker 7: people do now, but you know what I mean.
[37:54] Speaker 8: They came in, the baby was in the room with
[37:56] Speaker 8: the mom, and dad came in, looked at the baby
[38:00] Speaker 8: and then looked at my mom and said, nice baby, Joan,
[38:03] Speaker 8: and then just turned around and walked out of the room.
[38:06] Speaker 8: And my mom immediately woke up my father, who had
[38:09] Speaker 8: fled through it, and said, Granparatus is just your grandparatis
[38:12] Speaker 8: is this year? And he sat up straight in bed said,
[38:15] Speaker 8: oh my god, I smell a pipe. And the same
[38:20] Speaker 8: thing happened with my aunt.
[38:22] Speaker 7: He had.
[38:22] Speaker 8: He came in the room, looked at her baby, told
[38:25] Speaker 8: her beautiful baby. She woke up her husband. Her husband
[38:29] Speaker 8: smelled the smoke, and so that it was really beautiful moment.
[38:32] Speaker 7: Rons.
[38:33] Speaker 8: That was one of those lovely ghost stories because they
[38:36] Speaker 8: couldn't believe that.
[38:37] Speaker 7: They didn't share it with each other for like a decade,
[38:40] Speaker 7: you know.
[38:41] Speaker 8: And I really remember them just crying and hugging each
[38:44] Speaker 8: other and they were really happy.
[38:47] Speaker 1: Yeah, that's such a special story. I love it, so
[38:52] Speaker 1: that happened too, So it's not all terrifying. Sometimes it's sweet.
[38:59] Speaker 8: I mean, and one could argue that it brought my
[39:03] Speaker 8: family closer. I think it did in some way going
[39:06] Speaker 8: through what we went through.
[39:07] Speaker 5: You know.
[39:08] Speaker 1: Yeah, but now when you were going through this your family,
[39:14] Speaker 1: did it ever occur to you, guys, like we shouldn't
[39:17] Speaker 1: get a movie made about this or this is good
[39:21] Speaker 1: enough for like a book to be written, Like did
[39:23] Speaker 1: you ever think about any of that or going to
[39:26] Speaker 1: the newspaper or anything.
[39:28] Speaker 8: Kid did, But my parents were firmly wanting to be
[39:32] Speaker 8: in denial through all of it.
[39:34] Speaker 7: Yeah, they just weren't having it.
[39:36] Speaker 1: I get that. Thank you so much. This was great.
[39:42] Speaker 7: I really appreciate it. I love you. Yeah, thank you
[39:45] Speaker 7: very much.
[39:48] Speaker 1: Damn, Kathleen, that was spooky. Next up, it's Julia, who
[39:54] Speaker 1: lived in a haunted apartment during the pandemic. I hope
[40:00] Speaker 1: she got the deposit back.
[40:02] Speaker 10: Julia, gab me a ghost story. O, my god, from
[40:14] Speaker 10: the Big Apple.
[40:17] Speaker 1: It's Julia. Hi, Julia, Hi, Ras, please tell me you
[40:23] Speaker 1: have some New York City ghost stories.
[40:25] Speaker 5: These ghost stories aren't Ashley New York ghost stories. It
[40:29] Speaker 5: happened when I left but I hope you'll have them anyway.
[40:36] Speaker 1: Of course, absolutely. Okay, tell me what stories you got, Okay.
[40:42] Speaker 5: So I'm originally from the South. I grew up in
[40:46] Speaker 5: southern Appalachia, and when the pandemic hit in twenty twenty,
[40:52] Speaker 5: I was living in New York working on my bachelor's
[40:55] Speaker 5: and I decided pretty immediately once news broke about COVID
[41:00] Speaker 5: that I wanted.
[41:01] Speaker 7: To leave the city.
[41:02] Speaker 2: I did not want to be here.
[41:04] Speaker 5: My classes were online and there was nothing really, you know,
[41:08] Speaker 5: tying me here. So a couple of friends that I
[41:11] Speaker 5: had at the time, two sisters their parents, lived in
[41:15] Speaker 5: this huge apartment down in North Carolina, and the three
[41:19] Speaker 5: of us left the city together and had it down
[41:22] Speaker 5: there in mid March. And so this apartment was in
[41:27] Speaker 5: a pretty old building. It had been built in the
[41:31] Speaker 5: early twentieth century, and it was originally a hospital.
[41:35] Speaker 1: Oh what could go wrong?
[41:39] Speaker 5: Interesting vibe. There was a plaque out front from like
[41:43] Speaker 5: the governments, marking it as like a historical landmark. And
[41:48] Speaker 5: there was a basement with quite a few small rooms
[41:51] Speaker 5: that we assumed had to have been the morgue when
[41:55] Speaker 5: the hospital was active. And you know, I'm not an
[42:00] Speaker 5: elevator expert, but I'm assuming that the elevator that was
[42:05] Speaker 5: in this building was the original elevator because it had
[42:08] Speaker 5: like a door with a handle that you opened out
[42:12] Speaker 5: to reveal a metal gate that you had to slide
[42:14] Speaker 5: open and shut. And the up and down mechanisms of
[42:18] Speaker 5: the elevator were literally two buttons, like an up button
[42:21] Speaker 5: and a down button.
[42:22] Speaker 1: Perfect like you had.
[42:23] Speaker 5: To control the whole thing. And I'm going to be
[42:28] Speaker 5: really honest and say that it is the most beautiful
[42:30] Speaker 5: place I've ever lived. There were like giant ceilings and
[42:35] Speaker 5: real wood parquet floors, and our apartment had three balconies.
[42:40] Speaker 5: My god. And the total rent for a three bedroom
[42:44] Speaker 5: apartment was eleven hundred dollars. So if I had not
[42:48] Speaker 5: wanted to leave this town, I totally would have stayed
[42:52] Speaker 5: inspite everything that happened here.
[42:54] Speaker 1: Do you think that it was like the apartment was
[42:57] Speaker 1: like multiple patient rooms or something.
[43:01] Speaker 5: Yeah. Absolutely, From what I read about the building, it
[43:07] Speaker 5: was originally able to house like twenty to thirty patients
[43:12] Speaker 5: at a time, and you could like book a room,
[43:15] Speaker 5: but you also might be like taken there. I don't
[43:18] Speaker 5: understand how hospitals worked in the early twentieth century.
[43:22] Speaker 2: That you could book a room at the hospital. But
[43:25] Speaker 2: that's what I read.
[43:27] Speaker 5: And since my friends and their family had lived there
[43:31] Speaker 5: before the three of us came down, i'd heard a
[43:33] Speaker 5: couple of stories about the place beforehand. Years back, they
[43:38] Speaker 5: had moved to that apartment from a first floor apartment
[43:41] Speaker 5: in New York, so they were really used to hearing
[43:45] Speaker 5: a lot of noise above them, and they told me
[43:48] Speaker 5: that it had taken them quite a few months to
[43:50] Speaker 5: realize that they were still hearing the sounds of footsteps
[43:54] Speaker 5: and you know, general noises above them in this new place,
[43:58] Speaker 5: even though the apartment was on the top floor.
[44:02] Speaker 1: So not good. Oka.
[44:05] Speaker 5: The worst story that they had told me beforehand was
[44:08] Speaker 5: of one specific night. The apartment was really long, It
[44:13] Speaker 5: spanned the whole front of the building, and like you
[44:16] Speaker 5: brought up, it was like probably a lot of rooms
[44:18] Speaker 5: just like mushed together, and on one end of the
[44:22] Speaker 5: apartment was the kitchen and the dining room, and then
[44:25] Speaker 5: you walked through the living rooms there were two of them,
[44:29] Speaker 5: and then on the other end of the apartment were
[44:32] Speaker 5: the bedrooms and the bathroom, and so on this night,
[44:37] Speaker 5: my friend's mother was laying down on the couch in
[44:39] Speaker 5: the living room and she heard what she described as
[44:43] Speaker 5: the sound of someone walking around the dining room table
[44:47] Speaker 5: a couple of rooms over, and then they made their
[44:50] Speaker 5: way down the hallway, but she didn't see anything. She
[44:53] Speaker 5: just heard on the really nice parquet floors, she heard
[44:58] Speaker 5: someone walking down the hallway. Two of the bedrooms in
[45:01] Speaker 5: the back shared Jack and Jill style bathroom, and so
[45:05] Speaker 5: my friend in the first bedroom she recalled that she
[45:10] Speaker 5: was getting ready for bed in the bathroom, she was
[45:12] Speaker 5: washing her face or whatever, and she looked up into
[45:15] Speaker 5: the mirror and she saw the reflection of a man
[45:19] Speaker 5: standing behind.
[45:20] Speaker 1: Her classic horror movie.
[45:25] Speaker 5: And in classic horror movie fashion, when she looked behind,
[45:28] Speaker 5: there was no one there, and then once she looked
[45:30] Speaker 5: back into the mirror, he was gone. My other friend,
[45:34] Speaker 5: who was in the very back bedroom, her bed was
[45:38] Speaker 5: positioned across the way from a small walking closet. The
[45:43] Speaker 5: closet didn't have a door, It just had a curtain
[45:45] Speaker 5: on a rod that she often pushed to one side.
[45:48] Speaker 5: So on this night, she turned over in bed and
[45:53] Speaker 5: looked into the closet and she saw the face of
[45:58] Speaker 5: like something. She said that to her, it looked like,
[46:02] Speaker 5: you know, those Chinese lion masks. It looked like that,
[46:07] Speaker 5: but like white, like it was looking at her that
[46:11] Speaker 5: kind of feeling like it wasn't just something in the
[46:14] Speaker 5: closet that had been there, It wasn't there before. And
[46:19] Speaker 5: none of them did anything that night. They didn't like
[46:22] Speaker 5: run to each other and like say, what was going on.
[46:26] Speaker 5: It just like came up in the morning. They all
[46:29] Speaker 5: like shared their experience of something really crazy happened to
[46:33] Speaker 5: me last night, And then when they put their stories together,
[46:37] Speaker 5: it made it seem like something might have been moving
[46:40] Speaker 5: through the apartment, like it moved from the dining room,
[46:44] Speaker 5: down the hallway, through the bathroom and into the back bedroom.
[46:49] Speaker 5: I knew all of this going in, So.
[46:52] Speaker 1: This is all before you moved in.
[46:55] Speaker 5: This is all before I moved in, before you heard you.
[46:57] Speaker 1: Were going to be on lockdown and you were publicly
[47:01] Speaker 1: mandated to not go anywhere. Exactly terrifying.
[47:06] Speaker 5: So you know, despite experiencing multiple paranormal things throughout my life,
[47:13] Speaker 5: I've always been of the extremely delusional stance that if
[47:19] Speaker 5: I say that I don't believe in the supernatural, Like
[47:23] Speaker 5: if I say out loud that I don't believe in it,
[47:25] Speaker 5: then nothing really bad will ever happen to me? Sure,
[47:30] Speaker 5: I mean, like to be fair, nothing really bad has
[47:34] Speaker 5: ever happened to me. Deeply unsettling, which is why I'm here,
[47:38] Speaker 5: But nothing really bad. So we all like moved in
[47:43] Speaker 5: mid March, and everything considered at the time, you know,
[47:48] Speaker 5: for what was going on in the world, I was
[47:49] Speaker 5: actually having a pretty good time. The apartment was beautiful,
[47:53] Speaker 5: and nothing very ghosty was going on. The only unsettling
[47:57] Speaker 5: thing that started pretty immediately was that I would hear
[48:02] Speaker 5: this scraping noise coming from outside. So there was a
[48:07] Speaker 5: sidewalk that connected the various apartments to the front entryway,
[48:13] Speaker 5: and it wound around the building. There would be this
[48:17] Speaker 5: sound like someone was scraping a rake over the sidewalk.
[48:22] Speaker 5: But the really weird part about it was that it
[48:25] Speaker 5: was kind of a constant sound. It didn't never really
[48:27] Speaker 5: sound like it was getting closer or farther away. It
[48:30] Speaker 5: would just start and then it would stop. And I
[48:33] Speaker 5: looked out the windows on quite a few occasions to
[48:36] Speaker 5: see if I could see what was making that sound,
[48:40] Speaker 5: but I never saw anything, even though I could see
[48:42] Speaker 5: the sidewalk from our windows, and it sounded like it.
[48:45] Speaker 1: Was right below the windows weird.
[48:48] Speaker 5: That didn't really bother me that much, so I was like, whatever,
[48:52] Speaker 5: if I don't see anything, it's not that big of
[48:54] Speaker 5: a deal. When I really started to get freaked out
[48:57] Speaker 5: was with a couple of things happened to me my sleep.
[49:01] Speaker 5: There was this night where I was woken up by
[49:06] Speaker 5: what felt like someone shouting my name directly into my ear,
[49:12] Speaker 5: like I remember the feeling of the breast and the
[49:16] Speaker 5: hotness inside of my ear, But there was nothing there
[49:21] Speaker 5: when I looked around. Obviously, there never is except for
[49:25] Speaker 5: when there is. And I really really really do not
[49:28] Speaker 5: like anything bothering my sleep. I'm the kind of person
[49:32] Speaker 5: like I'm out in a minute, I'm down the rest
[49:34] Speaker 5: of the night. I've never had any problems with sleep
[49:38] Speaker 5: paralysis or night peers, so this kind of thing, I
[49:41] Speaker 5: was like, I really really don't like this. My bed
[49:48] Speaker 5: was positioned across the way from this short bookshelf that
[49:54] Speaker 5: had on it one of those lanterns in the shape
[49:58] Speaker 5: of a Greek statue, like the head of a Greek statue,
[50:02] Speaker 5: and then the plant like comes out the top like hair.
[50:04] Speaker 4: Okay, cute, it is really cute.
[50:08] Speaker 5: One night I woke up in the middle of the night,
[50:11] Speaker 5: and that kind of waking up where you're like blinking
[50:14] Speaker 5: and looking around for quite a while before you fully
[50:17] Speaker 5: realize that you're awake. So I'm coming to and I
[50:22] Speaker 5: realized that standing right in front of.
[50:24] Speaker 2: Me is a little boy.
[50:28] Speaker 5: He was pale and like marginally translucent. It was like
[50:33] Speaker 5: he was he wasn't fully there, but he also wasn't
[50:36] Speaker 5: fully see through. He was substantial enough that I could
[50:39] Speaker 5: like make out strong features on him, but I could
[50:42] Speaker 5: also see through him some. And as my brain starts
[50:47] Speaker 5: to register that he's there, he starts leaning towards me,
[50:52] Speaker 5: and he stops really close to my face. And this
[50:57] Speaker 5: whole time, I'm not moving or anything. I'm not feeling
[51:00] Speaker 5: particularly scared. I'm just really curious. And so he gets
[51:06] Speaker 5: really close to my face and he stops and he
[51:09] Speaker 5: yells run. That's all he says. He just yells at
[51:15] Speaker 5: me to run. And after he's shouted that in my face,
[51:20] Speaker 5: he just like fades away.
[51:22] Speaker 1: Did you run?
[51:24] Speaker 11: No?
[51:24] Speaker 5: I didn't. I was woken up in the middle of
[51:28] Speaker 5: the night, and I was like, where am I supposed
[51:29] Speaker 5: to go?
[51:30] Speaker 11: Outside?
[51:30] Speaker 5: How's that better?
[51:32] Speaker 1: Right outside?
[51:33] Speaker 5: Where the rake is being scraped across the sidewalk.
[51:37] Speaker 1: The rake Demon's gonna get you, no, And when.
[51:42] Speaker 5: He fades away, I remember the last thing to go
[51:45] Speaker 5: was his face. And then when his face disappeared, where
[51:49] Speaker 5: his face had been was the face of that planter.
[51:52] Speaker 5: And so I was like, oh, maybe I was having,
[51:57] Speaker 5: you know, a sleep paralysis at the so, except I've
[52:01] Speaker 5: never had those, and I wasn't scared. I didn't feel
[52:06] Speaker 5: like I was being trapped or anything. I felt like
[52:08] Speaker 5: I was just watching something that was going on in
[52:12] Speaker 5: front of me. But after he faded away, I was like,
[52:17] Speaker 5: really really scared. But my coping mechanism when things scare
[52:22] Speaker 5: me in real life, for like watching a movie, is
[52:26] Speaker 5: to cover my ears. Something about like sound is the
[52:30] Speaker 5: worst part of scary things for me. So anytime I
[52:33] Speaker 5: wake up in the middle of the night from a
[52:34] Speaker 5: really bad dream, I'll put on a podcast, usually not yours,
[52:39] Speaker 5: because I don't feel like that helps.
[52:42] Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll get on.
[52:44] Speaker 5: Like a different podcast or like thunderstorm Sounds. And so
[52:48] Speaker 5: that's what I did that night and pretty much every
[52:52] Speaker 5: night after that for a really long time, because in
[52:55] Speaker 5: my head, if I make it impossible for me to
[52:58] Speaker 5: hear the thing that goes by in the night, then
[53:01] Speaker 5: it can't do anything to me if I don't hear it.
[53:04] Speaker 1: Totally, I sleep with white Noise.
[53:07] Speaker 5: And I know that logic is flat, but it really
[53:11] Speaker 5: really works for me.
[53:13] Speaker 1: No, I don't think it's flawed because, first of all,
[53:17] Speaker 1: who knows, But there could be a ghost right next
[53:21] Speaker 1: to everyone listening to this podcast right now. We could
[53:24] Speaker 1: be encountering ghosts all day every day. But if you
[53:28] Speaker 1: can't see it, you can't hear it, then what's the
[53:30] Speaker 1: big deal?
[53:30] Speaker 7: Exactly?
[53:31] Speaker 1: I put on the white Noise machine every single night
[53:35] Speaker 1: for the exact reason, thank you.
[53:39] Speaker 5: And after that, like nothing really much happened again in
[53:44] Speaker 5: that apartment. I would pretty frequently wake up in the
[53:48] Speaker 5: middle of the night with that like feeling that something
[53:51] Speaker 5: was wrong or that there was something else in the
[53:53] Speaker 5: room with me, but I would just put on my headphones.
[53:57] Speaker 5: I think that like that is with the boy beside
[54:02] Speaker 5: my bead freaked me out so much that I like
[54:05] Speaker 5: really slammed that like mental door shut in my head.
[54:10] Speaker 5: I was like, I don't want any of.
[54:12] Speaker 11: This, Like it was crazy for a little while there
[54:14] Speaker 11: where like that thing yelled Julia at me, But I
[54:18] Speaker 11: don't I don't want any more of this, and so
[54:21] Speaker 11: I kind of just like said no more.
[54:24] Speaker 5: Please, Like I really I'm not strong, I don't have fortitude.
[54:28] Speaker 5: I will not make it out of this a lie,
[54:30] Speaker 5: like you're picking on the wrong person.
[54:33] Speaker 1: You are probably just rest like sleeping like a baby
[54:37] Speaker 1: and a cloud and there's just this invisible boy being.
[54:41] Speaker 5: Like rud rd and you're just like, I can't hear
[54:48] Speaker 5: you over my thunderstorm on beyond.
[54:53] Speaker 11: Uh.
[54:54] Speaker 1: So do you have other stories you said that you
[54:56] Speaker 1: had had experiences previous to that.
[54:59] Speaker 5: I I do have two others that really stick out
[55:03] Speaker 5: in my head. Like I mentioned, I grew up in
[55:06] Speaker 5: the South, and my best friend's house is like kind
[55:12] Speaker 5: of in a rural area out in the woods. It
[55:15] Speaker 5: used to be a mining community. It used there used
[55:19] Speaker 5: to be miners who lived there. And it was the
[55:22] Speaker 5: summer after we graduated high school. She at some point
[55:27] Speaker 5: during high school, she had asked her dad to, like
[55:31] Speaker 5: they had this walk in closet in her bedroom, and
[55:34] Speaker 5: she'd asked him to like build a little bed in
[55:37] Speaker 5: the closet. She was sharing a room with her sister,
[55:41] Speaker 5: so I think she just like wanted a private space
[55:44] Speaker 5: in that room, and so he like built a little
[55:47] Speaker 5: bed in the closet that had enough room that you
[55:52] Speaker 5: could sleep on top, and then you could put like
[55:54] Speaker 5: a palette down on the ground beneath it and someone
[55:57] Speaker 5: could sleep under that like bunk bed style. And we
[56:02] Speaker 5: were eighteen, and I was like, I will sleep under
[56:04] Speaker 5: the bed. That sounds fun. And so the first night
[56:08] Speaker 5: I go to do that, it's fine. I fall asleep
[56:11] Speaker 5: in two minutes like normal, until I wake up in
[56:15] Speaker 5: the middle of the night and I'm like laying flat
[56:18] Speaker 5: on my back and I hear directly above me on
[56:23] Speaker 5: the wood of the platform holding her bed up above me,
[56:28] Speaker 5: I hear the sound of someone scratching their fingernail along
[56:33] Speaker 5: the wood in front of my face, and I unlike
[56:37] Speaker 5: when the little boy told me to run, and I
[56:40] Speaker 5: didn't run. I shot out of that bed. I was
[56:43] Speaker 5: like no, no, no, no, no no. And I went
[56:47] Speaker 5: to sleep on the couch in the living room. And
[56:51] Speaker 5: I told her what happened the next morning, and she said,
[56:55] Speaker 5: you know, sometimes I hear stuff in that room like
[56:59] Speaker 5: it were out in the woods. There might be stuff
[57:01] Speaker 5: in the walls, and I'm like, okay, but it was
[57:03] Speaker 5: like not in the walls. It was right above my face,
[57:06] Speaker 5: and I was like, I will give it one more shots.
[57:10] Speaker 5: I go to sleep the next night under the bed
[57:13] Speaker 5: and the same thing happens, Like I wake up and
[57:15] Speaker 5: there is something scratching right above my face, and that
[57:18] Speaker 5: time I remember I shot out of there again and
[57:21] Speaker 5: I hit my head so hard against the underside of
[57:26] Speaker 5: the bed. But I was like, I really don't care.
[57:28] Speaker 5: I have to be anywhere but here. After that in
[57:31] Speaker 5: that house, nothing ever really happened. But also on their property,
[57:37] Speaker 5: they have a trailer that they like rent out to
[57:40] Speaker 5: friends and stuff, and when there's no one in there,
[57:43] Speaker 5: it's fully furnished, and so we like to go over
[57:46] Speaker 5: there and hang out. And so one night she and
[57:49] Speaker 5: I were spending the night in there, and we were
[57:54] Speaker 5: getting ready for bed, and I was like, let me
[57:57] Speaker 5: go double check that I locked the b So she's
[58:02] Speaker 5: like in the bedroom, which is on one side of
[58:04] Speaker 5: the trailer, and then I had to like walk through
[58:08] Speaker 5: the living room, around a corner, through the kitchen to
[58:11] Speaker 5: the back door. And as I'm walking through the living room,
[58:14] Speaker 5: I hear someone sneeze and I keep walking and I say,
[58:20] Speaker 5: bless you, because I thought it was her. And as
[58:23] Speaker 5: I'm locking the back door. I hear her response that
[58:26] Speaker 5: wasn't me, but I heard that too. It's like, right, okay,
[58:35] Speaker 5: so I have to walk back through the living room
[58:38] Speaker 5: I get to see you. And because I was going
[58:41] Speaker 5: back through the kitchen, I grabbed a bunch of knives
[58:44] Speaker 5: and I just booked it. I booked it back into
[58:48] Speaker 5: the bedroom and we closed the doors, and then we
[58:51] Speaker 5: like conferred about what our strategy was. We were like, okay,
[58:54] Speaker 5: so there's obviously someone in the house, right, Like, there's
[58:57] Speaker 5: someone in the living room that I just ran by,
[59:00] Speaker 5: and so we like armed ourselves, had our flashlights and
[59:04] Speaker 5: like went through the trailer and there was no one there.
[59:07] Speaker 5: And I was like, okay, that's almost worse because I
[59:11] Speaker 5: heard someone sneeze. We went to bed that night. Whatever.
[59:17] Speaker 5: A couple years pass and we're there again, really late
[59:21] Speaker 5: one night, but we're not spending the night. So we're
[59:25] Speaker 5: getting ready to leave and it's probably like three am,
[59:30] Speaker 5: and we're standing in the kitchen together and I am
[59:35] Speaker 5: on my phone and she's standing pretty much directly behind me,
[59:40] Speaker 5: facing the same direction as me, just like getting stuff
[59:44] Speaker 5: ready in her toe bag or whatever, and I hear
[59:48] Speaker 5: someone very like it was inaudible like I couldn't understand
[59:53] Speaker 5: what they were saying, but I heard someone whisper into
[59:56] Speaker 5: my ear and I look back at her and I say, what, like,
[1:00:01] Speaker 5: because I thought it was her trying to say something.
[1:00:04] Speaker 5: And for the second time in that trailer, she's like,
[1:00:08] Speaker 5: that wasn't me. But I heard that also that again,
[1:00:13] Speaker 5: and so we just left and nothing has happened there since.
[1:00:19] Speaker 5: It just feels like I really don't I do not
[1:00:23] Speaker 5: like being there very late at night. I don't understand
[1:00:29] Speaker 5: what was happening either of those times, but it definitely
[1:00:33] Speaker 5: felt like there was something trying to communicate or just
[1:00:38] Speaker 5: like hanging out around us, and I don't know what
[1:00:42] Speaker 5: it was.
